The Very Model of the Perfect Modern Progressive Liberal

Good thing they were white, otherwise we might have another race riot on our hands…

(sarcasm, not callousness or is it both?) Warning: extreme cynicism ahead. The Politically Correct will have their head explode with “offense”.

ROANOKE, Va. (CBSDC)He planned it all so carefully — a choreographed execution of two former colleagues, broadcast live to a horrified television audience. Hours later, he shared his own recording of the killing worldwide on social media.

Vester Lee Flanagan’s own video shows him approaching WDBJ reporter Alison Parker and cameraman Adam Ward, gun in hand, as they conduct an interview. He points the gun at Parker and then at Ward, but he waits patiently to shoot until he knows that Parker is on camera, so she will be gunned down on air.

TV viewers heard about the first eight of 15 shots. They saw Parker scream and run, and heard her crying “Oh my God!” as she fell. Ward fell, too, and the camera he had been holding on his shoulder captured a fleeting image of the suspect holding a handgun.

Franklin County Shooter Image 2

That man, authorities said, was Flanagan — a former staffer who used the on-air name of Bryce Williams and was fired by WDBJ, a man who always was looking for reasons to take offense, colleagues recalled. He fled the scene but then posted his own 56-second video of the murders on a Twitter account labeled @bryce_williams7 and Facebook.

He later ran off Interstate 66, just outside of D.C., while being pursued hundreds of miles away and was captured. He died around 1:30 p.m. at Inova Fairfax Hospital of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was listed in critical condition for a couple of hours.

A Virginia state trooper located Flanagan driving on I-66 using license plate recognition equipment.

State Police Sgt. Rick Garletts says the trooper followed Flanagan until backup arrived, then turned on her flashing lights. The suspect tried to evade her but after a couple of minutes, he ran off the road into the median. That’s where he was found with the self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Hope he wasn’t white, because a White Cop and a black “victim” always starts a race war these days thanks to the Leftists.

Wednesday’s on-air murders reverberated far from central Virginia because that’s just what the killer wanted — not just to avenge perceived wrongs, but to gain maximum, viral exposure. He used his insider’s knowledge of TV journalism against his victims – a 24-year-old reporter who was a rising star and a 27-year-old cameraman engaged to a producer who watched the slaughter live from the control room.

Flanagan’s planning may have started weeks ago when, ABC News said, a man claiming to be Bryce Williams called repeatedly, saying he wanted to pitch a story and needed fax information. He sent ABC’s newsroom a 23-page fax two hours after the 6:45 a.m. shooting that was part-manifesto, part-suicide note — calling himself a gay black man who had been mistreated by people of all races, and saying he bought the gun two days after nine black people were killed in a June 17 shooting at a Charleston church. The fax also included admiration for the gunmen in mass killings at places like Virginia Tech and Columbine High School in Colorado.

Remember, kiddies, guns kill people, not people with guns. 🙂

And he was an ‘oppressed’ “victim of WASP hatred so he’s the good guy right?

“White Privilege” and all that.

He was a ticking Politically Correct “victim’ of the evil White Privilege, Anti-Gay Christian World and he just went off, right?

It wasn’t his fault. It’s the evil racist, anti- gay white controlled society’s fault.

He’s not a Leftist programmed with self-loathing waiting to go off.

Nope. Not at all.

Anyone wanna order a pizza?

He described himself as a “human powder keg,” that was “just waiting to go BOOM!!!!”

President Barack Obama says the fatal on-air shooting is heartbreaking.

But it’s precisely what he’s been working for all these years. It’s his Agenda. He must secretly be very proud.

Obama says “it breaks my heart every time” he reads or hears about these kinds of incidents.

Except when it’s, say Trayvon Martin or Ferguson Or Baltimore, etc.

White people shooting Black people is so much easier on his Agenda.

“What we know is that the number of people who die from gun-related incidents around this country dwarfs any deaths that happen through terrorism,” he said.

See, there’s that AGENDA roaring it’s little head. We are the problem. We should should be put down. The Government needs to control us all. Terrorism is nothing to worry about.

It’s you gun toting maniacs that are the problem!

Parker and Ward were a regular team, providing stories for the station’s “Mornin’” show on everything from breaking news to feature stories on subjects like child abuse. Their live spot Wednesday was nothing out of the ordinary: They were interviewing a local official at an outdoor shopping mall for a tourism story before the shots rang out.

The extraordinary from the ordinary.

I wonder if anyone from the Administration wound this guy up. Naw, probably just the Liberal Media… 🙂

As Parker screamed and Ward collapsed, Ward’s camera kept rolling, capturing the image of the suspect pointing the gun. WDBJ quickly switched to the anchor back at the station, clearly shocked, who told viewers, “OK, not sure what happened there.”

“We heard screaming and then we heard nothing,” Jeff Marks, the station’s general manager, said during the WDBJ broadcast.

Parker and Ward died at the scene. Their interview subject, Vicki Gardner, the head of the Smith Mountain Lake Regional Chamber of Commerce, also was shot. She emerged from surgery later Wednesday in stable condition.

Flanagan, 41, who was fired from WDBJ in 2013, was described by the station’s president and general manager, Jeffrey Marks, as an “an unhappy man” and “difficult to work with,” always “looking out for people to say things he could take offense to.”

The Very Model of the Perfect Modern Progressive Liberal!!

Obama and Co must be so proud. The Politically Correct should erect a monument in his honor because he’s everything they’ve ever wanted.

They were white “racists” and he was a Gay Black Man. Throw in cisgender and you’d have a trifecta.

“Eventually after many incidents of his anger coming to the fore, we dismissed him. He did not take that well,” Marks said. He recalled that police had to escort Flanagan out of the building because he refused to leave when he was fired.

But since he was black and gay, he was politically correct to be offended. They should have given a promotion instead. 🙂

Tweets posted Wednesday on the gunman’s Twitter account — since suspended — described workplace conflicts with both victims. He said he filed a complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission against Parker, and that Ward had reported him to human resources.

The only thing missing was a little “Allah Ackbar” and it would have been perfect. The media would have ignored him with fierce determination then.

Marks said Flanagan alleged that other employees made racially tinged comments to him, but that his EEOC claim was dismissed and none of his allegations could be corroborated.

But they are White, of course they made racist remarks, They’re White!! DUH! 🙂

“We think they were fabricated,” the station manager said.

White Privilege strikes again!

Dan Dennison, now a state government spokesman in Hawaii, was the WDBJ news director who hired Flanagan in 2012 and fired him in 2013, largely for performance issues, he said.

I’d says his Politically Correct performance should get a 10.

“We did a thorough investigation and could find no evidence that anyone had racially discriminated against this man,” Dennison said. “You just never know when you’re going to work how a potentially unhinged or unsettled person might impact your life in such a tragic way.”

Yeah, he might even be in the Military, say Fort Hood.

Court records and recollections from former colleagues at a half-dozen other small-market stations where he bounced around indicate that Flanagan was quick to file complaints. He was fired at least twice after managers said he was causing problems with other employees.

But a quick “offense” when no has occurred is precisely what The Left wants. He’s a martyr to their Agenda.

They should build a shrine to him.

A former co-worker of Flanagan says he was “off-kilter” and that he thought news anchoring was about “acting.”

It is about acting. Acting like your not an Orwellian Propagandist. That you’re a “journalist”. That takes acting talent.

Kimberly Moore Wilmoth worked with Flanagan in 1999 when he was at a Tallahassee TV station. She said Wednesday that “he didn’t laugh at our jokes or at himself when he would make a mistake.”

Because it was all YOUR fault! 🙂

Wilmoth describes Flanagan as a loner who didn’t socialize with other reporters. She says he got mad when co-workers made light of on-air mistakes. She recounted one story in which he filmed an elderly man trapped inside a car during a flood even though the man was calling out for help.

She says: “Instead of helping the man, he used the man as a prop.”

So he was the perfect Leftist then!! They use everyone as a prop for their agenda.

Flanagan sued WTWC-TV in north Florida in March 2000. The lawsuit claimed that a producer called him a “monkey” in 1999 and that other black employees had been called the same name by other workers.

Seeing racism everywhere. Such a lovely product of Leftist education. He must have been an A+ student.

He also claimed that an unnamed white supervisor at the station said black people were lazy because they did not take advantage of scholarships to attend college.

See, he was the perfect “victim” of “white privilege”.

The station generally denied the allegations of discrimination and said it had legitimate reasons for ending Flanagan’s employment, including poor performance, misbehavior with regard to co-workers, refusal to follow directions, use of profanity and budgetary reasons.

But mostly it was because he was Black and Gay. Don’t kid yourself! 🙂

Both Parker and Ward grew up in the Roanoke area, attended high school there and later interned at the station. After Parker’s internship, she moved to a smaller market in Jacksonville, North Carolina, before returning to WBDJ. She was dating Chris Hurst, an anchor at the station and had just moved in with him.

“We were together almost nine months,” Hurst posted on Facebook. “It was the best nine months of our lives. We wanted to get married. We just celebrated her 24th birthday. She was the most radiant woman I ever met.”

So it was all her fault! She was White, it had to be her fault, right?

Ward, who played high school football, was a devoted fan of his alma mater, Virginia Tech. His colleagues said he rarely, if ever, missed a game. They called him a “happy-go-lucky guy” — even during the early morning hours that are the proving ground for so many beginning journalists.

He was exercising his “white privilege”.

Ward’s fiancee, station producer Melissa Ott, was in the control room when the shots rang out, marking her last day on the job. He had planned to follow her to her new job in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The land of Confederate Racists!

In an interview with CNN, Marks said: “It’s hard to imagine, isn’t it? She was moving on to a station in Charlotte. It was going to be a day of celebration.”

More “white privilege”. It just has to stop! 🙂

Marks helped lead the live coverage Wednesday after the station confirmed its two employees were dead. He said he and his staff covered the story despite their grief, to honor their slain colleagues.

“Our hearts are broken,” he said. “Our sympathy goes to the entire staff here, but also the parents and family of Alison Parker and Adam Ward, who were just out doing their job today.” (CBS Radio)

And Vester Lee Flanagan was doing the job the Left had programmed him for years to do.

He was an angry, discriminated against Gay Black man in a “white privilege” world. How unfair was that!

White cop shoots violent Black criminal: It’s a race issue.
Black criminal shoots unarmed White people: It’s a gun control issue.

Yes, Obama, you built this. And yes, Obama, if you had a son, he’d think just like this guy.

You must be so proud. 🙂

Mainstream Jujitsu

I never realized how much mainstream media had an affinity with martial arts. Over the past week, we’ve seen some of the most ferocious journalistic jujutsu in my lifetime. Shocking undercover videos are released revealing the true essence of Planned Parenthood—a cold, callous, commercial abortion and human-parts trafficking chain—and America’s news media can’t move quickly enough to spar with the messengers.

I don’t know, the jujitsu of lies, attacks and distortions around Benghazi are some of the Orwellian Left’s finest.

Lois Lerner and The IRS targeting.

Fast & Furious.

The Dukes of Hazzard 🙂

It’s all just a hoax! Planned Parenthood said so. And every news network is quick to rally to the abortion giant’s defense…one of the only times the liberal MSM will defend capitalism and corporate America. Apparently, the only videos that have credibility are the ones produced by MSNBC, CNN, CBS News, ABC News, or any other member of the multi-billion Network of Lies. Oh, but wait! They’ve never done any kind of exposé on Big Abortion. The last time news media took a critical look at the seedy abortion industry was when Pamela Zekman and Pamela Warrick, writing for the Chicago Sun Times, engaged in phenomenal undercover reporting of the Gosnell-like conditions in “Chicago’s thriving abortion business”. It was a 15-part series entitled: “The Abortion Profiteers”. That was in 1978, people. Today’s mainstream media, with billions of dollars in assets, won’t spend a dime to investigate this corrupt industry.

The Agenda is The Agenda! No one questions the The Agenda! Or else…

Enter Lila Rose. Jill Stanek. James O’Keefe. And now, David Daleidan of the Center For Medical Progress. These citizen journalists have riled the gatekeepers whose religiously devout efforts to protect Big Abortion don’t have a prayer. With the exception of Fox News, Brit Hume’s deeply stirring commentary of the destruction the abortion industry has brought to this country was epic. He reflects what the journalist’s creed, in part, proudly proclaims: “I believe that the journalism which succeeds best — and best deserves success — fears God and honors Man…always respectful of its readers but always unafraid, is quickly indignant at injustice.”

But the only “injustice” the Left sees is that not everything bows and scraps to kiss their ass and do as they are told because they are so vastly superior to you grubby, dirty, little morons of hate.

My childhood hero, Frederick Douglass, started his own newspaper (The North Star) because mainstream media wasn’t telling the truth about slavery. Fast forward 168 years, and the same media malfeasance exists today. Douglass declared: “…justice must be done, the truth must be told. I will not be silent.” This remarkable freed slave is the reason why I became a citizen journalist. His passion to educate the public and to help set people free inspired me in my recent fight against the NAACP. This radically pro-abortion “civil rights” organization tried to sue my organization (and me personally) into silence for accurately parodying their name. The National Association for the Abortion of Colored People lost in court. Truth won.

Abortion is the number one killer in the black community, at rates 5 times higher than those among whites. But the NAACP still stands with its corporate sponsor, Planned Parenthood. Just like the Congressional Black Caucus, Sharpton’s National Action Network, and the National Urban League, the NAACP has responded to these shocking videos with less-than-surprising silence. Every one of these groups actively partners with the nation’s leading abortion and harvesting chain. With all of the hypocritical rhetoric and tweeting of #BlackLivesMatter, and the absurd backlash against declaring #AllLivesMatter, it’s become apparent that human life doesn’t really matter to certain people.

But it’s whitie’s fault! Check your Privilege, y’all. 🙂

Planned Parenthood can continue on aborting and selling those unwanted babies in their uncrushed wanted parts. Liberals won’t be outraged. But they’ll feign outrage at the ones who are exposing the inhumanity of it all. Cecile Richards, in a feeble attempt to discredit the Center for Medical Progress’ shocking videos, apologized for the “tone” of her top doctor, Dr. Deborah Nucatola, in a video that was supposedly a hoax. Never mind that Richards, a $583k per year salaried abortion mogul, told PBS “protesting abortion was like protesting a man’s colonoscopy”. Sure. The comparison of an unborn human life to feces has no despicable tone at all.

These recent events have me hopeful, though, and enjoying the desperation of the leading entity of population control going into serious damage control. Congress, and allegedly the DOJ, will investigate this situation. I encourage people to sign the Americans United for Life’s petition to demand that the White House order the Attorney General to investigate Planned Parenthood’s sale of aborted baby parts.

The DOJ will ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!! NOTHING! The Agenda must be protected. That’s why virtually no one from the numerous scandals has been prosecuted. You turn the evidence over the DOJ and they conveniently lose it, wipe it, or ignore it. It’s their mandate to cover it all up.

They are the Gatekeepers of The Agenda, they are the ones who protect it. They serve only the Agenda.

And we can’t stop there. This abortion behemoth gets $528.4 million of our tax dollars every year to do their corrupt work. There are many reasons to defund Planned Parenthood. It kills human lives. It is fundamentally dishonest (suffering from a condition known as Mythomania-an abnormal or pathological tendency to exaggerate or tell lies). It has defrauded Medicaid (aka taxpayers) of millions of dollars. It grossly miseducates our youth (e.g. “There’s nothing unhealthy or bad about having a big number of sexual partners”). It is America’s biggest hoax.

Well, I have said, that polyamory is next. Nothing is “abnormal” unless it’s not on The Agenda, then it’s just evil.

One day, our nation will look back and wonder how so many were duped, for so long, by Planned Propaganda.

Not if the Ministry of Truth has anything to do with it.

It will be like the plans to destroy the Earth for a hyperspacial bypass in “Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy”

“But Mr Dent, the plans have been available in the local planning office for the last nine months.”

“Oh yes, well as soon as I heard I went straight round to see them, yesterday afternoon. You hadn’t exactly gone out of your way to call attention to them, had you? I mean, like actually telling anybody or anything.”

“But the plans were on display …”

“On display? I eventually had to go down to the cellar to find them.”

“That’s the display department.”

“With a flashlight.”

“Ah, well the lights had probably gone.”

“So had the stairs.”

“But look, you found the notice didn’t you?”

“Yes,” said Arthur, “yes I did. It was on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying ‘Beware of the Leopard’.”

And Ministry has the Mainstream Media to lie for them.

One day, our collective soul will mourn for the millions of lives that were crushed by the violent social injustice of abortion. One day, because Truth is relentless and freeing, Big Abortion will be heavily edited out of our society. (Ryan Bomberger)

It will be heavily edit out society so that this kind of think won’t happen again and the Agenda won’t be exposed. That is what the Left is so upset about.

Remember, in the pursuit of their Agenda they have no morals or ethics of any kind, least of all unborn children, who they can’t even manipulate into voting for them.

THE AGENDA IS THE AGENDA!!

The End justifies the Means.

FREEDOM IS SLAVERY!

IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH!

CLASS WARFARE IS PEACE!

FEAR IS HOPE!

The FCC announced on Friday that it would back off its planned study of U.S. newsrooms in which monitors would be dispatched to gather information on how they operate. Even so, Greta Van Susteren on Friday decided to answer the questionnaire that would have been included in the study as honestly as she could.

The first question: “What is the news philosophy of the station?”

Van Susteren’s answer: “None of your business, read the Constitution.”

Question No. 2: “How much news does your station air every day?”

“Watch and figure it out yourself, I’m not doing your work for you,” she responded.

The third question from the proposed FCC study: “Who decides which stories are covered?”

Van Susteren’s familiar answer: “None of your business, read the Constitution.”

“Read the Constitution is what they should’ve done before they even did this study,” she added

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2014/02/21/watch-greta-van-susteren-answers-proposed-fcc-questionnaire-for-newsrooms-and-nails-it/

But when the Government agency that can ruin you overnight comes “inquiring” about how you do your job there are no “innocent” questions and it’s not the least bit “funny”.

Of the 5 Commissioners who approve new organizations license every 8 years 3 are Democrats. But don’t worry, there’s no agenda here when they talk about “protecting the rights of minorities”. 🙂

The purpose of the CIN, according to the FCC, is to ferret out information from television and radio broadcasters about “the process by which stories are selected” and how often stations cover “critical information needs,” along with “perceived station bias” and “perceived responsiveness to underserved populations.”

Aka, the Liberal Progressive Social AGENDA.

As Thomas Jefferson so eloquently said, “our liberty depends on the freedom of the press, and that cannot be limited without being lost.”

Wanna know what MSDNC has as their top story today, “Stand Your Ground Laws” and “Bridgegate” in New Jersey! (who the F*ck cares about that stupid ass story to begin with?–Liberals it fuels their hatred of the “Not We”). Do you think they feel threatened by the FCC?

Nope. They are already the Ministry of Truth.

Put in “FCC” and it comes up with some lame ass story about a Baseball player saying the F-Word in a stadium speech!

They mock Fox’s Megyn Kelly for calling the story “crazy” and 1 commenter says the party line: “I can see where a so-called news network that makes up stories out of whole cloth would be worried about this.”

Megyn Kelly is afraid that a bunch of Non- White feds dressed as Santa’s will start showing up in Fox News rooms.uninvited.”

You can’t even find the story on NBC News Website. But they will tell you about The Democrats wanting to bring back the defeated “Net Neutrality”. 🙂

ABC will talk about the FCC and Cellphones on Airplanes, just not about monitors in the newsroom.

CNN’s top story, The Olympics!

That tells you all you need to know.

Are you now of have you ever been…?

I Have a Nightmare

“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.”
Martin Luther King, Jr.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. — A black lawmaker didn’t break any legislative rules when writing an email referring to a white

constituent’s ancestors as incestuous slave owners, the Alabama House leader said Tuesday.
Republican House Speaker Mike Hubbard of Auburn said Thursday that neither he nor most other legislators share the views that Democratic Rep. Joseph Mitchell of Mobile expressed in the email to a Jefferson County man. He said the response from most legislators was, “I can’t believe he would put out something like that.”

But Hubbard said Mitchell has free speech rights.

“There is nothing in our rules that prevents someone from sending an email that has his personal opinions in it,” Hubbard said.

Mitchell and many other members of the Legislature got an email from Eddie Maxwell of Jefferson County asking them not to pass gun control laws and saying that he would consider any legislation a violation of the state’s
constitution.

Mitchell sent back an email, referring to the man’s “slave-holding, murdering, adulterous, baby-raping, incestuous kin folk.”

That’s just “free speech”. Good thing he was a Liberal… 🙂

But if you say that marriage is between 1 man and 1 woman and that’s it, then man, you’re going to hell because you’re a massive bigot.

Isn’t The Politically Correct Left hilarious!

A pediatric neurosurgeon who has become the darling of conservatives since speaking against nationalized healthcare is now under fire for comments he made about same-sex marriage.

Dr. Benjamin Carson told MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports” on Friday that he would be willing to step down as commencement speaker at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine after faculty and students signed petitions asking that he not speak.

The petitions began after Carson told Fox News Channel’s Sean Hannity, “My thoughts are that marriage is between a man and a woman. It’s a well-established, fundamental pillar of society and no group, be they gays, be they NAMBLA, be they people who believe in bestiality — it doesn’t matter what they are — they don’t get to change the definition.” One of the petitions, quoted by The Hill newspaper, reads: “We retain the highest respect for Dr. Carson’s achievements and value his right to publicly voice political views. Nevertheless, we feel that these expressed values are incongruous with the values of Johns Hopkins and deeply offensive to a large proportion of our student body.”

The Left can say the most outrageously offensive things and no one bats any eye but let a non-liberal say anything that isn’t politically correct and they are a racist, mysognist, homophobic bigot of the grandest order.

Orwell would be so proud.

“Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.”
Martin Luther King, Jr.

Alaska Rep. Don Young issued an apology Friday for using the term “wetbacks” when discussing migrant works, acknowledging it is an “insensitive term” that he says should have been left behind with the last century.

The apology came after House Speaker John Boehner and other Republican Party leaders denounced Young on Friday for using the term.

The 79-year-old Young, the second-most senior Republican in the House, had issued a statement late Thursday saying he “meant no disrespect” in using the derogatory term to describe the workers on his father’s farm in central California, where he grew up.

But lawmakers on both sides of the aisle made clear Friday they did not find the explanation acceptable.

One’s “free speech” the other is “offensive”. 🙂

Guess which one is which!

Now for the fun part.

I just happened to be out grocery shopping when I heard this one:

You know, ABC has a show in primetime called Wife Swap (aka polyamory).  They do.  They have a program called Wife Swap, and last night they swap a Tea Party activist with a polyamorous family.  I’m not kidding you. The Tea Partiers are painted as the Bible-thumping freaks, and the polyamorous family portrayed as the open-minded, full of love, and sympathetic bunch.  The wives are Gina Loudon, a San Diego Tea Party activist and a New York polyamorous wife, Angela Envy, and here is how the program opened.

ANNOUNCER: (dramatic music) Tonight on Wife Swap.  Two very different wives. (gunshot) A gun-toting Tea Party activist.

GINA LOUDON:  You can’t defend your rights, then you don’t have any rights.

The Tea Party activist is a fuddy-duddy, Bible-thumping, closed-minded bigot. The wife that’s in the polyamorous relationship is loooooving, open-miiiiinded (giggles), and loves both of her partners.

ANNOUNCER:  Meet Gina Loudon from San Diego, California. (Me:The Agents of the Devil himself! Don’t let the normalcy look fool you they are pure evil!!!!)

Did ABCs Wife Swap Really Make a Polyamorous Family Look More Reasonable & Loving Than a Tea Party Family?

GINA LOUDON:  You take Hitler. You take Mussolini. You take Pol Pot. They were all liberals.  Let’s not forget that.

ANNOUNCER:  Gina is a journalist, author, political pundit, and staunch supporter of the Tea Party movement.

GINA LOUDON:  Faith is the cornerstone of the Loudon family.

MR. LOUDON:  “He that walketh in his uprightness feareth the Lord.”

GINA LOUDON:  My family is grounded in God.  We are Christians.  We believe in Jesus Christ. (gunshot) I don’t think the government should regulate how many guns I own.  People are afraid of the guns, so they just want to throw ’em all away.

Now the Polyamorous “Couple”: (no Irony in their last name now is there?) 🙂

ANNOUNCER:  In New York is the nonpolitical and polyamorous Envy family.

(Non-political is good, kiddies… Everything is completely normal….)

Did ABCs Wife Swap Really Make a Polyamorous Family Look More Reasonable & Loving Than a Tea Party Family?

ANGELA ENVY:  Me and Chris have been married eight years now, and Ashley is our girlfriend.

ASHLEY:  Chris, Angela, and I have, like, a very passionate, loving relationship.  I’ve just become part of the whole family.

CHRIS ENVY:  I had no idea that it was gonna develop into an actual relationship, but I’m happy it did.

ANGELA ENVY:  Ashley fits into the family perfectly.

ASHLEY:  I was hanging out with them more as friends in the beginning and just turned into more.  I went from being a college girl to living in a house with four children.

ENVY:  The trio all live together with Chris and Angela’s children.

ANNOUNCER:  And a polyamorous wife who lives with her husband and their girlfriend.

Aww, aren’t they just the sweetest, cutest, cuddliest family ever! 🙂

Polyamory, the next big Liberal “Civil Rights” push. Well, when you have non morals anything goes.

And that’s good. At least you’re not a hard-nosed, insensitive bigoted, misogynist racist Right Wing Christian Tea Party BIGOT! 🙂

So can Polygamy, Child Marriage, and Bestiality be far behind???

After all, who are we to judge.

Unless you say something the Left doesn’t like that is….

Then you are the spawn of evil and must be struck down fast, hard and with no mercy for the wicked!!!!!

The Wrong Message

The fact that ABC News is the one ripping on him for his petulance is the funny part here.

Sequestration is not the best time to be doling out foreign aid, surely the most unpopular item in the federal budget. Especially when the recipient is President Mohammed Morsi of Egypt.

Morsi is intent on getting the release of Omar Abdel-Rahman (the Blind Sheik), serving a life sentence for masterminding the 1993 World Trade Center attack that killed six and wounded more than a thousand. Morsi’s Muslim Brotherhood is openly anti-Christian, anti-Semitic and otherwise prolifically intolerant.

Just three years ago, Morsi called on Egyptians to nurse their children and grandchildren on hatred for Jews, whom he has called “the descendants of apes and pigs.”

Not exactly Albert Schweitzer. Or even Anwar Sadat. Which left a bad taste when Secretary of State John Kerry, traveling to Cairo, handed Morsi a cool $250 million. (A 10th of which would cover about 25 years of White House tours, no longer affordable under sequestration. Says the administration.)(CK)

So Obama targets cut that hurt Children to make the adults mad enough to stop the cuts and then give money to de-facto terrorists.

Yeah, this is being a petulant child and a partisan dig at Republicans (that hasn’t worked).

He get’s his million dollar golf games and multi-million dollar vacations. And you get the shaft with your own tax money!

It’s good to be the King!

More like Lord Farquart (from Shrek).

“The president’s travel expenses alone, for the golfing outing with Tiger Woods, would pay for a year of White House visits,” Fox News contributor Charles Krauthammer said Thursday. “So I suggest that perhaps he curtail the travel.”

But this is partisan politically targeted petulance.
He wants you to revolt against his political enemies, not him.

A group of Kansas teenagers says the Obama Administration has ruined their spring break trip to Washington, D.C. after their tour of the White House was canceled – a victim of the Sequester.

“President Obama is just being petty,” said Dalton Glasscock, an 18-year-old high school student from Wichita, Kan.

Glasscock is a member of the Kansas Federation of Teenage Republicans – one of the dozens of high school and middle school groups around the nation that received cancelation notices.

Congressional staffers received an email last week citing “staffing reductions” as the official reason behind the shut down.

“I think he’s taking it out on young people especially,” said Glasscock. “President Obama is using American children as pawns in a game of political chess.” (Townhall)

Whoops! 🙂

But will Obama double down and knuckle down in his petulance and intractable and inflexible agenda. Of course he will.

So keep it up Mr. Obama, you’re pissing off the people and maybe, just maybe, the stupid have started to get the message.

The wrong message. 🙂

Maybe…

Think like the Media

Did the hear about the massacre that was avert 2 days ago?

Probably not. Since no violent, sociopathic Tea Party member was potentially the shooter and the target was a Conservative group the liberal media isn’t interested in covering as the victim.

ABC was the only broadcast network that offered a full story on the FRC office shooting on Wednesday night. They led with the story and gave it two and a half minutes. None of the network newscasts reported the breaking detail that shooter Floyd Corkins volunteered for six months at the D.C. Center for the LGBT Community, adding depth to his political motivation.

On NBC Nightly News, Brian Williams gave the story just 17 seconds: “In Washington today, police say a man with a gun walked into the offices of the conservative lobbying group the Family Research Council, and opened fire. He never made it past the lobby. He shot a security guard in the arm before the guard was able to subdue him.”

On CBS Evening News, substitute anchor Bob Schieffer offered 20 seconds: “A gunman opened fire today at the Washington headquarters of the Family Research Council, a conservative Christian lobbying group. The man shot a security guard in the arm before that guard and others tackled him, and he was arrested. Police say that the suspect made negative comment about the council’s work just before the shooting.”

Does anyone believe that under the same circumstances — hostile ideological shooter captured after security guard only shot in the arm — a conservative nut attacking a gay activist group or abortion advocacy group would draw just 20 seconds?

They can say they covered it. But Did Brian Ross jumped to a Tea Party Conclusion here? Did they cover it for days with endless speculations?

Nope. It was 20 seconds and gone. Who cares. Not them. No “gun violence” story here for them to brow beat people with and “agonize” over.

On both NBC and CBS, the FRC brief was followed by a full story promoting President Obama’s new deferral program for illegal alien “Dream Act” students. NBC gave that two minutes, CBS two minutes and fifty seconds. (Newsbusters)

But don’t worry, they aren’t biased. 🙂
ABC NEWS: Sources have identified the suspect as Floyd Corkins of Herndon, Virginia, but so far, his motives are unclear.

They are very clear. The shooter admitted to them. But the liberal media doesn’t like this aspect so they’ll ignore it.
Sources say the suspect had material from fast food giant Chick-fil-A in his bag, but it was unclear whether today’s incident has any connection to the recent controversy over gay marriage.

Yeah, let’s not jump to conclusions like Brian Ross, your ABC News colleague did with the Aurora Shooting… 🙂

AP: Corkins had been volunteering for about the past six months at The DC Center for the LGBT Community, said David Mariner, executive director of the community center, which is in Northwest Washington. He usually staffed the center’s front desk on Saturdays, and his most recent shift was about two weeks ago.

“He always struck me as a kind, gentle and unassuming young man. I’m very surprised that he could be involved in something like this,” Mariner said….

Ah, I bet he loves puppies and unicorns too. Not like those violent, hateful racist bigots in the Tea Party!!
The Southern Poverty Law Center decided in 2010 to place the FRC on its list of hate groups for its rhetoric on gays.
Janet Napalitano and Homeland Security think Tea Partiers are “right wing terrorists”. But this guy is an aberrations and nice, quiet guy who did something unfortunate.
“There are unconfirmed reports that the shooting was ideologically motivated,” said Richard Cohen, the president of the SPLC, in a statement.
Despite numerous reports that the shooter was very specifically politically motivated.
No bias here.
The motivation and circumstances behind today’s tragedy are still unknown LGBT Organization quickly said.
But just minutes after the Aurora shooting Brian Ross is looking for a Tea Party Member to blames. The same in Tucson.
No bias here.
And Another Laugh from MSDNC:“That really bothered me,” MSNBC’s Toure’ said. “You notice he said anger twice. He’s really trying to use racial coding and access some really deep stereotypes about the angry black man. This is part of the playbook against Obama, the ‘otherization,’ he’s not like us.”“I know it’s a heavy thing, I don’t say it lightly, but this is ‘niggerization,’” Touré said to the apparent shock of his co-panelists. “You are not one of us, you are like the scary black man who we’ve been trained to fear.”

“This is not a revolutionary comment,” Touré later said. “This is a constituency all-white party that rejects the black vote.”

But he’s not calling them racists and he certainly isn’t one. Kettle anyone?

Ann Coulter: My smash best-seller “Demonic: How the Liberal Mob Is Endangering America” has just come out in paperback — and not a moment too soon! Democrats always become especially mob-like during presidential election campaigns. The “root cause” of the Democrats’ wild allegations against Republicans, their fear of change, their slogans and insane metaphors, are all explained by mass psychology, diagnosed more than a century ago by the French psychologist Gustave Le Bon, on whose work much of my own book is based.Le Bon’s 1896 book, “The Crowd: A Study of the Popular Mind,” was carefully read by Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini in order to learn how to incite mobs. Our liberals could have been Le Bon’s study subjects.

With the country drowning in debt and Medicare and Social Security on high-speed bullet trains to bankruptcy, the entire Democratic Party refuses to acknowledge mathematical facts. Instead, they incite the Democratic mob to hate Republicans by accusing them of wanting to kill old people.

According to a 2009 report — before Obama added another $5 trillion to the national debt — Obama’s own treasury secretary, Tim Geithner, stated that in less than 10 years, spending on major entitlement programs, plus interest payments on the national debt, would consume 92 cents of every dollar in federal revenue.

That means no money for an army, a navy, rockets, national parks, food inspectors, air traffic controllers, highways, and so on. Basically, the entire federal budget will be required just to pay for Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security — and the cost of borrowing money to pay for these programs.

When Social Security was enacted in 1935, the average lifespan was 61.7 years. Today, it’s almost 79 and rising. But liberals believe the age at which people can begin collecting Social Security must never, ever be changed, even to save Social Security itself.

Mobs, according to Le Bon, have a “fetish-like respect” for tradition, except moral traditions because crowds are too impulsive to be moral. That’s why liberals say our Constitution is a “living, breathing” document that sprouts rights to gay marriage and abortion, but the age at which Social Security and Medicare benefits kick in is written in stone.

Le Bon says that it is lucky “for the progress of civilization that the power of crowds only began to exist when the great discoveries of science and industry had already been effected.” If “democracies possessed the power they wield today at the time of the invention of mechanical looms or of the introduction of steam-power and of railways, the realization of these inventions would have been impossible.”

Liberals exhibit this exact group-think fear of science not only toward light bulbs and nuclear power, but also toward medical inventions. Thus, when a majority of the country objected to Obamacare on the grounds that — among many other reasons — a government takeover of health care would destroy medical innovation, liberals stared in blank incomprehension.
They believe every drug, every diagnosis, every therapy, every cure that will ever be invented, has already been invented. Their job is to spread all the existing cures, while demonizing and stymieing pharmaceutical companies that make money by inventing new drugs.

Democrats haven’t the slightest concern about who will formulate new remedies because they are enraged at profit-making and suspicious of scientific advancement.

Apart from cures that will never be invented, liberal elites will be mostly untouched by the rotten medical care to which they are consigning the rest of us. Note how Democrats’ friends, such as government unions, immediately received waivers from Obamacare. Rich or connected liberals, such as George Soros, Warren Buffett, Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama, will always have access to the best doctors, just as Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez do.

It is similar to the way that Democrats, who refuse to pass school choice, always seem to bypass the disastrous public schools for their own children, who end up at Sidwell Friends or St. Albans.
Democrats don’t worry about how bankrupting Social Security and destroying the job market hurts black people, bitter divorcees and young people, because they can always demagogue these one-party Democratic voters simply by repeating that Republicans are racist, hate women and aren’t cool like Obama.

The truth is irrelevant; only slogans and fear-mongering delight mobs.

The rest of us are forced to live in a lawless universe of no new pharmaceuticals, foreign doctors, gay marriage, girl soldiers, a health care system run by the post office, and bankrupt Social Security and Medicare systems, because liberals can’t enjoy their wealth unless other people are living in squalor.

The country will have the economy of Uganda, but Democrats will be in total control.

And they would be soo happy. And you want to be happy now don’t you Citizen…

The Genius of The Left

Who is going to pay for your house, car, dental care, health care, education, who pays for that?” Sean Hannity asked after his guest said all of these should be free. Occupy Wall Street Organizer Harrison Schultz replied, “Nobody! It’s free.”
Economic Genius!! The Next Nobel Prize for Economics folks! 🙂

The Perpetual Wealth Machine, it produces wealth without any production cost at all. It produces all from nothing!

Amazing! Maybe we can give him a Nobel Peace Prize, Like Obama, for solving the entire economic inequality equation.

Then the revelation that all the violence, drunkeness, and rapes in Zucotti Park last year were because the NYPD planted drunks, criminals and rapists there.

Wow!

FOOD POLICE

Some parents are calling school officials in Colorado “food Nazis” after they announced a ban on all sweets, including cupcakes, candy bars and even birthday cakes – unless the cakes are made with district-approved recipes.

School officials in Greeley, CO advised parents that new federal guidelines require all food served on grade school campuses to adhere to strict calorie counts.

“Fundraisers held at school are no longer allowed to include food items of any kind,” said Jenna Raymond, of the District 6 Nutrition Dept. “Rewards for children are to include gifts such as erasers and pencils.”

The Greeley County School district is even banning sweets at off-campus fundraisers.

“The only food items allowed to be sold for these types of fundraisers are those that meet the nutritional guidelines,” she told the Greeley Gazette.

That means no more sweet treats like cake at birthday parties or class holiday parties – unless the cake is made with a recipe approved by the school district.

“We have a recipe we use in the district that uses black beans and the kids love it,” Raymond told the newspaper.

“They’re dictating what I can send with my child for lunch – what I can give them for a treat at a school party,” she said. “I don’t believe that’s right. It’s my child. I should be able to feed them whatever I want. They’re not raising my child. They’re not paying for their orthodontic bills. They’re not tucking them in at night telling them they love them. But yet they’re telling me what I can and can’t feed my child?”

She said school officials are acting like “food Nazis.”

“This is how it starts,” she said. “The government is sticking their nose where they don’t exactly belong.”

“What are they going to start doing – checking every water bottle they bring in to make sure it’s not pop?” (FOX)

Maybe they can hire the TSA to check for “contraband”. What’s a little x-ray or a pat down when it’s about children’s health! 🙂
“It’s for the children”.
So was The Witch’s oven in “Hansel & Gretel” 🙂

And will the Adults follow the same guidelines. Of Course Not! That would be silly.

Don’t Do as I do, Do as I Say. And we are far better at running your life for you.

AL-Qaida endorses Ministry of Truth

Al-Qaida spokesman Adam Gadahn: Osama bin Laden pondered the merits of US television news channels as he considered how to extract the best propaganda benefit from the tenth anniversary of 9/11 last year, and concluded that CBS was “close to being unbiased”. (But he got killed first).

MSNBC as questionable after it fired one of its most prominent presenters, Keith Olbermann.

“I used to think that MSNBC channel may be good and neutral a bit, but is has lately fired two of the most famous journalists – Keith Olbermann” wrote Gadahn.

Gadhan describes ABC as “all right”:”Actually it could be one of the best channels, as far as we are concerned. It is interested in al-Qaida issues, particularly the journalist Brian Ross, who is specialised in terrorism. The channel is still proud for its interview with the shaykh (Bin Laden),” he said. “CBS channel was mentioned by the shaykh. I see that it is like the other channels, but it has a famous programme (60 Minutes) that has some popularity and a good reputation for its long broadcasting time.

“In general, and no matter what material we send, I suggest that we should distribute it to more than one channel, so that there will be healthy competition between the channels in broadcasting the material, so that no other channel takes the lead. It should be sent for example to ABC, CBS, NBC, and CNN and maybe PBS and VOA. As for Fox News, let her die in her anger.” (UK Guardian)

PELOSI FOR HER STATE’S RIGHT TO TOKE!

Reacting to an ongoing crackdown on medical marijuana facilities in California, Pelosi said in a Wednesday statement, “I have strong concerns about the recent actions by the federal government that threaten the safe access of medicinal marijuana to alleviate the suffering of patients in California.”

The California Democrat said that medical marijuana is “both a medical and a states’ rights issue.”

Pelosi’s call for the federal government to respect the policy decisions of individual states contrasts with a brief filed with the Supreme Court in opposition to Arizona’s anti-illegal immigration law known as SB 1070. In the brief, Pelosi and other House Democrats argued that “Arizona impermissibly seeks to substitute its judgment and its priorities for those of Congress.”

“[E]ach of the disputed provisions of S.B. 1070 directly conflicts with the enactments and intent of Congress on vital issues of national interest,” the Democratic congressmen added. “As such, these provisions are preempted by federal law and therefore invalid.”

Amazing how IMBY (In MY back Yard) makes a difference. But she can imperiously pontificate about other people’s back yards.

ObamaCare, EPA, IRS, TSA…

Don’t Do As  I Do , Do as I Say!

Remember when Nancy Pelosi brought “poor,” (she’s rich) “23-year-old” (she’s 30) Georgetown Law student (she is also a feminist activist who specifically went to Georgetown, a Catholic University, with a goal of forcing the school to cover and pay for birth control despite moral opposition to doing so) Sandra Fluk before Congress to ask you to pay for her birth control because it was costing $3000 a year? And remember when Pelosi accused conservatives of waging a war on women because they didn’t want to pay for Fluke’s contraception and Pelosi then claimed Republicans wanted to strip all funding from women’s health programs? The Washington Post fact checker is crying fowl and asks “A GOP ‘assault’ on women’s health?” Yeah, not so much.

Here is Pelosi’s original statement:

“In order to pay for it, [House Republicans] are going to make an assault on women’s health, make another assault on women’s health, continue our assault on women’s health and pay for this with prevention initiatives that are in effect right now for childhood immunization; for screening for breast cancer, for cervical cancer; and for initiatives to reduce birth defects – a large part of what the Center for Disease Control does in terms of prevention.”

And here is WaPo’s analysis:

From Pelosi’s statement, one could imagine a wholesale “assault” to strip funding for women’s health programs. But in fact, there are virtually no specific programs aimed at women currently in the fund. In the future, the administration hopes to add such programs, but that is not the reality today, as evidenced by the fact the administration never raised this concern last year when the GOP-led House also voted to kill the preventive health care fund.

Pelosi could have raised concerns about perceived cuts in preventive health. She could have also noted that women benefit greatly from such efforts. But she — and fellow Democrats — went too far to label this “an assault on women’s health.” Maybe evidence of that will emerge through the regular appropriations process—at which point we could revisit this ruling — but for the moment this smacks of political opportunism.

The fascinating Genius of The Left folks. Bask in the “Superiority”.

Labels

Before I get to the explanation, choke on this fact:

Updated numbers for the national debt are just out: It’s now $14,639,000,000,000.

When Barack Obama took the oath of office twice on Jan. 20, 2009, CBS’ amazing number cruncher Mark Knoller reports, the national debt was $10,626,000,000,000.

That means the debt that our federal government owes a whole lot of somebodies including China has increased $4,247,000,000,000 in just 945 days. That’s the fastest increase under any president ever.

But that’s George Bush’s Fault! He made them do it! remember that. 🙂

The nation’s debt increased $4.9 trillion under President Bush too, btw. But it took him 2,648 days to do it. Obama will surpass that sum during this term. (LA times)

That’s the Republicans Fault! 🙂

It’s growing $2.95 million a minute, but don’t worry, we just need to SPEND EVEN MORE!

And it’s all those nasty, mean “Conservatives” fault!

The Buck stops with anyone but a Democrats (or “Liberal”).

The Media Research Center has a revelatory study out this morning on the vast discrepancy between the way the news networks use the “conservative” and “liberal” labels for candidates.

In the first half of this year, NBC, ABC and CBS morning and evening news shows put attached the term “conservative” to a presidential contender 62 times, while during the same period in the presidential race in 2007, “liberal” came up only three times.

Media Research Center analysts reviewed the ABC, CBS and NBC morning and evening news programs from January 1 through July 31 and found 62 “conservative” labels for Republican candidates or those talked about as potential candidates. A check of the same broadcasts for the same time period in 2007 found a paltry three “liberal” labels for the Democrats running that year, a greater than 20-to-1 disparity.

In fact, reporters four years ago used the “liberal” label more freely with Republican candidates than Democrats. ABC’s Jake Tapper (World News, March 5, 2007) called Rudy Giuliani a “former big city mayor with liberal views on abortion, gay rights, and gun control.” But Democratic candidates such as Edwards and Clinton, whose views were to the left of Giuliani, were not once called “liberal” on any of the networks during the period we examined, while CBS and NBC never tagged Barack Obama as liberal.
Indeed, the most-labeled candidate this cycle is Michele Bachmann, who accounted for more than a third (23) of the ideological descriptions we tallied. On ABC’s World News on June 14, correspondent John Berman called Bachmann “one of Congress’s most conservative members.” Later that month, ABC’s Jon Karl described Bachmann as having “unyieldingly conservative views (June 26) and as an “uncompromising conservative” (June 27). Over on the CBS Evening News, Jan Crawford tagged Bachmann as “unapologetically conservative” (June 26).

On the June 27 NBC Nightly News, correspondent Kelly O’Donnell said Bachmann was “known for her firebrand conservative style.” The next morning on Today, co-host Matt Lauer asked Bachmann: “Are you at all concerned that your socially conservative views, that make you very popular in Iowa, might not play as well down the road?”

Four years ago, former North Carolina Senator John Edwards espoused the most stridently liberal positions of the major Democratic candidates, but drew no liberal labels from January 1 through July 31, 2007. (Then-NBC reporter Chip Reid, however, did supply a single liberal label on the December 28, 2006 edition of Today, as Edwards prepared to announce his candidacy: “Critics say Edwards is too liberal and, with just one term in the Senate, too inexperienced.”)Viewers only heard two liberal labels for then-Senator Barack Obama, who, like Edwards, espoused strongly liberal positions as a candidate. The labels came in a single flattering story by ABC’s Jake Tapper that was aired both on the January 16, 2007 World News and the next morning’s Good Morning America: “Obama has drawn raves for presenting fairly traditional liberal views as fresh and inspiring….As for then-New York Senator Hillary Clinton, who led the Democratic field throughout 2007, she was also never termed a liberal. In fact, network analysts busied themselves refuting the notion. “People think she’s a liberal, even though she’s hawkish,” MSNBC’s Chris Matthews asserted on NBC’s Todayon January 15, 2007. (Mr. “Tingle up my Leg” himself!)

For its part, CBS failed to attach a single liberal label to the Democratic candidates during the first seven months of 2007.It’s neither inaccurate nor impolite to describe this year’s GOP candidates as “conservative” — most of them wear the label proudly. But if the networks are going to treat both sides fairly, they should have been just as ardent in pointing out the liberalism of the Democratic field that produced the most liberal President in American history.
But why would they do that? 🙂
It would be like calling Illegal Aliens…Illegal Aliens! Not “migrants”.
And Islamic terrorists and radicals…Islamic terrorists and radicals. It’s much easier and better to call the Tea Partiers terrorists than the real ones.
Gotta fear the weirdos.
Besides pin the most ardent Liberals in a corner and they’ll call themselves “Progressives” but they won’t use it except then. It’s another out for them.
Demonize your opposition.
Label the Mark of the Beast.
Begone, ye SATAN “Conservative”. 🙂
Chris Matthews on Gov. Rick Perry:  Speculating on the Texas Governor’s popularity, Matthews theorized, “Do you think part of this southern appeal of this guy, who is to most of us this guy, Rick Perry, is he’s not a Mormon. He’s a Southern Baptist.” The NBC anchor then suggested sinister motives behind his supporters: “And a lot of it is that permission slip people give themselves, ‘Oh, I’m not bigoted on race or religion, but I just like this guy.'”
Now can you imagine saying that about the other guy…you know…THE LIBERAL. of course not, why would they do that…
Sunday’s (NBC) Meet the Press, substitute host Savannah Guthrie pushed the President from the left: “If the President thinks more should be done, if he thinks there should be more stimulus, why doesn’t he just go for broke? Why doesn’t he go out there and ask for it, make a case for it?”
Yeah, go for it! We’re nearly 15,000,000,000,000 in debt what the hell let’s SPEND EVEN MORE!!
Now that’s a good plan!! 😦
In contrast to her exchange with Gibbs, when Guthrie interviewed Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels minutes later, she actually discouraged Republicans from standing on principle: “…at the Republican debate the candidates were asked whether they would accept a deal in which there were $10 of spending cuts for every $1 of tax hikes. And every single candidate raised their hand….does that convey a sense that Republicans are so intransigent on this issue that this problem they profess to care about, i.e. the deficit, can’t be solved?”

Daniels countered by pointing to stubbornness on the Democratic side: “Well, first, there’s tons of intransigence on the other side. The Democrats have been utterly, I’d say, not only stubborn, but cynical in their protestations that they won’t touch, they won’t, they won’t modernize or rebuild the safety net programs, and everyone knows that has to happen.”

AVILA: Deep cuts in education helped balance the budget, and the divide between rich and poor is the fourth widest in the country. Some argue that, deep in the heart of Rick Perry’s Texas, there is little heart. Jim Avila, ABC News, San Antonio. (NB)
“I know you’re an objective reporter, but I smell birtherism about this guy. His attack on Obama isn’t just policy. It’s about the nature of the person who’s President….This could be Bull Connor with a smile.”–Chris Matthews. The fact that Bull Connor was a White, Southern DEMOCRAT I’m sure was missed by this Alinsky-inspired attack.
And we all know the Mainstream media is “Objective”, don’t we? 🙂
So where are the statements about Obama’s economy, the nearly $5 Trillion in spending in less than 3 years,  the chronic  unemployment, Libya, taxes, jobs, ObamaCare, anti-business, being a SOCIALIST! etc.
Oh, sorry, that’s George Bush’s Fault! Silly me… 🙂
And what isn’t his fault is the Republicans fault. Even if they have only had one branch of Congress for 7 months it’s still there fault.
Why? because they are “CONSERVATIVES”. That’s why. And we all know they are stubborn, heartless, mean, miserly, nasty old grinchs who just wanna throw grandma off a cliff, steal candy from babies, and be racist, bible-thumping terrorists.
And we can’t have that now can we?
Vote for Me, the Democrat, because the other guy/ gal  is a “Conservative” (aka asshole)!!

Michael Ramirez Cartoon

Thomas Sowell: The media have recently been so preoccupied with a Congressman’s photograph of himself in his underwear that there has been scant attention paid to the fact that Iran continues advancing toward creating a nuclear bomb, and nobody is doing anything that is likely to stop them.

Nuclear weapons in the hands of the world’s leading sponsor of international terrorism might seem to be something that would sober up even the most giddy members of the chattering class. But that chilling prospect cannot seem to compete for attention with cheap behavior by an immature Congressman, infatuated with himself.

A society that cannot or will not focus on matters of life and death is a society whose survival as a free nation is at least questionable. Hard as it may be to conceive how the kind of world that one has been used to, and taken for granted, can come to an end, it can happen in the lifetime of today’s generation.

Those who founded the United States of America were keenly aware that they were making a radical departure in the kinds of governments under which human beings had lived over the centuries — and that its success was by no means guaranteed. Monarchies in Europe had lasted for centuries and the Chinese dynasties for thousands of years. But a democratic republic was something else.

While the convention that was writing the Constitution of the United States was still in session, a lady asked Benjamin Franklin what the delegation was creating. “A republic, madam,” he said, “if you can keep it.”

In the middle of the next century, Abraham Lincoln still posed it as a question whether “government of the people, by the people and for the people shall not perish from the earth.” Years earlier, Lincoln had warned of the dangers to a free society from its own designing power-seekers — and how only the vigilance, wisdom and dedication of the public could preserve their freedom.

But, today, few people seem to see such dangers, either internally or internationally.

A recent poll showed that nearly half the American public believes that the government should redistribute wealth. That so many people are so willing to blithely put such an enormous and dangerous arbitrary power in the hands of politicians — risking their own freedom, in hopes of getting what someone else has — is a painful sign of how far many citizens and voters fall short of what is needed to preserve a democratic republic.

The ease with which people with wealth can ship it overseas electronically, or put it in tax shelters at home, means that raising the tax rate on wealthy people is not going to bring in the kind of tax revenue that would enable wealth redistribution to provide the bonanza that some people are expecting.

In other words, people who are willing to give government more arbitrary power can give up their birthright of freedom without even getting the mess of pottage. Worse yet, they can give up their children’s and their grandchildren’s birthright of freedom.

Free and democratic societies have existed for a relatively short time, as history is measured — and their staying power has always been open to question. So much depends on the wisdom of the voters that the franchise was always limited, in one way or another, so that voting would be confined to those with a stake in the viability and progress of the country, and the knowledge to cast their vote intelligently.

In our own times, however, voting has been seen as just one of the many “rights” to which everyone is supposed to be entitled. The emphasis has been on the voter, rather than on the momentous consequences of elections for the nation today and for generations yet unborn.

To those who see voting as more or less just a matter of self-expression, almost a recreational activity, there is no need to inform themselves on both sides of the issues before voting, much less sit down and think beyond the rhetoric to the realities that the rhetoric conceals.

Careless voters may be easily swayed by charisma and rhetoric, oblivious to the monumental disasters created around the world by 20th century leaders with charisma and rhetoric, such as Hitler.

Voters like this represent a danger of terminal frivolity for freedom and democracy.

Here’s another thing to consider: The Valedictorian for Arizona State University this year is an ILLEGAL ALIEN!  Think about that for a moment…

Envy-is best described as an emotion that “occurs when a person lacks another’s (perceived) superior quality, achievement, or possessions and either desires it or wishes that the other lacked it”. It does seem that the left run on emotions more than on facts no?

Oh, and the “fair” Media:

On Sunday’s This Week, ABC’s Christiane Amanpour repeatedly hit Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell with the White House’s plea for “revenue raising” measures, often the new euphemism for tax hikes, but when she talked to Democratic Congressman Jim Clyburn, the Assistant Minority Leader in the House, she failed to press him about agreeing to GOP spending cut proposals and instead only asked him about prospects for a deal.

Amanpour began with how reasonable President Obama and Democrats, who “need revenue,” are acting: “Democrats are saying they’re not putting, for the moment, tax hikes on the table, but they need revenue, they’re talking about closing loopholes, subsidies for wealthy corporations. Is that out of the question for you, or are you willing to entertain that?”

When McConnell wouldn’t agree, with “NEW TAXES OFF THE TABLE?” as her on-screen heading, she followed up by pleading:

Are you willing, I mean this is a negotiation after all, to talk about any kind of revenue raising, for instance, ethanol subsidies, for instance, tax breaks for oil and gas corporations or corporate jets. Is there anywhere where revenue raising can happen without you saying it’s a tax hike?

She wouldn’t let it go, despairing: “Are you now basically saying, all revenue increases off the table?”

But will she ask a Democrat about spending cuts?

Of Course not!

47% of people pay no Income Taxes AT ALL.

So is American Democracy doomed?

Good Question.

Then there’s Eugenics Al (the Global Warming Loonie gone insane) Gore:

‘One of the things we could do about (global warming),” Gore said recently, “is to change the technologies, to put out less of this pollution, to stabilize the population, and one of the principle ways of doing that is to empower and educate girls and women.” That, he said, would cause population “to stabilize and societies begin to make better choices and more balanced choices.” The logic is inescapable: A smaller global carbon footprint means fewer footprints.

But governments around the world have already “empowered” women to make “more balanced choices.” These have often led to something awful: the death of tens of millions of female babies, the very ones Gore wants to “empower.”

FED HAS NO IDEA WHY…

Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke says he’s puzzled by the failure of the economy to respond to our government’s many ministrations. Which explains much of why our economy is such a mess.

‘We don’t have a precise read on why this slower pace of growth is persisting,” Bernanke said recently, adding that the growth slowdown was proving to be “more persistent than we thought.”

His remarks came as the Fed dropped its 2011 gross domestic product growth forecast from the range of 3.1% to 3.3%, made just two months earlier, to a much slower 2.7% to 2.9% pace.

Not to be rude, but can the nation’s top banker really be so clueless? Anyone with half a lick of common sense looking at our economy knows what’s wrong: We’ve spent the better part of three years with government making the most extraordinary interventions in the economy in our nation’s history.

Government spending, as a share of the economy, has soared 25%. Regulations, many of them arbitrary and foolish, such as the ban on incandescent light bulbs, have never been more numerous.

Businesses say in survey after survey that, with all the government’s micromanaging of the economy, they are uncertain of what comes next, and therefore are postponing investment and hiring decisions.

But to top economic officials like Bernanke, it’s not clear by now what’s wrong. Really? How about:

• $830 billion in failed, corrupt stimulus efforts?

• A $700 billion TARP program that was promised as a way to stabilize the banks but ended up as a kind of union-crony slush fund?

• The government takeover of GM and Chrysler?

• The punitive re-regulating of Wall Street through a Dodd-Frank bill that affected even those entities that had nothing to do with the financial meltdown?

• Small-business fears about higher taxes and stringent, new green regulations that are making it harder to plan and make profits?

• Soaring oil prices that the government seems not only to tolerate, but also to actively advocate by refusing to permit our oil companies to drill for more?

• The admission by Vice President Joe Biden, put in charge of efforts on the economy, that higher taxes are “most important to us Democrats”?

• And, finally, the Bernanke Fed’s own $1.7 trillion in quantitative easing — a fancy central bankers term for “let’s print more money”? (and devalue what we already have)

Seriously, does Bernanke — and for that matter, all the other policymakers who say they’re “surprised” at the weakness in our economy — really think all this is normal?

Look at what’s transpiring in our markets. After repeated government intervention, no one today knows the real price of food, housing, energy, raw industrial goods, bonds or stocks. The amount of government money distorting these vital parts of our free economy is so great, our markets can’t really function.

Free prices set by buyers and sellers are the way free markets work. Free prices create efficiency. They send vital signals about what to produce — not to mention when and where and at what price.

Absent those price signals, which happen spontaneously between buyers and sellers, a free-market economy can’t work. That’s what’s happening today. And that’s why the USSR, with all of its grand five-year plans and thousands upon thousands of apparatchiks, couldn’t make its command economy fly.

A handful of bureaucrats can never set prices or allocate goods or decide what should be made as efficiently as millions of people acting in their own interest through a free and open market.

Our policymakers seem to have forgotten this. They make statements that indicate they don’t know the damage their policies are doing or they are willfully oblivious to them.

Either way, America needs to change course, and fast. This Keynesian superstimulus is a failed experiment — one that deserves to be cast on the ash heap of history as soon as possible. (IBD)

But don’t expect the Democrats to abandon their dreams or the Media to suddenly understand reality.

So you will have to.

And you will have make sure they do to.

They will kick and scream and yell. But if we succeed your kids will thank you for it.

Otherwise, kiss their asses goodbye.

Simple. 🙂

The Vast Left Wing Disparity

Just in case you had any hope for the Mainstream Media not being totally in the tank for the Leftists and Liberals in this country:

The New York Times and the Washington Post issued open calls on Thursday asking their readers to help them “investigate” emails from Sarah Palin’s tenure as governor of Alaska. There was no indication of what this investigation was supposed to uncover.

Dirt, any dirt. Even if they have to stretch it or fabricate it. They want dirt!!
They have to feed their Palin Derangement Syndrome.
The New York Times said: “We’re asking readers to help us identify interesting and newsworthy emails, people and events that we may want to highlight.”
Mind you, they got bored very quickly by Obama and his domestic terrorist connections and radical ideas on Socialism, Social Justice, Keynesian Economics, and Black Liberation Theology.
Imagine a newspaper in 2008 asking readers’ help in perusing Barack Obama’s emails as U.S. senator and Illinois state senator. Or for that matter, help in unearthing his college records. The howls from “mainstream” journalists and Democratic politicians would have been deafening.
You couldn’t discuss most anything about The One without being labeled a racist.
Now it’s 2011:
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi is bored and uninterested in Anthony Weiner, but was all over Mark Foley in 2006 like mud on a pig!
In the first 2 weeks of Mark Foley who resigned Immediately
ABC,CBS,NBC ran 55 stories.
With Weiner who still Refuses to Resign the first 2 weeks
were 10 stories.
The networks piled on 152 stories about Rep. Mark Foley in the story’s first 12 days in the fall of 2006, but they weren’t the only ones with a vast left-wing disparity. Time and Newsweek each devoted cover stories and multiple pages to the Foley scandal. Time put an elephant’s rear end on the cover with the words “What a Mess…Why a tawdry Washington sex scandal may spell the end of the Republican revolution”. Newsweek had a huge picture of Foley (with a small President Bush in front of his face) with the huge headline “Off Message” and the subhead “Foley’s Secret Life: How a Predator’s E-mail Sex Scandal Could Cost Bush Congress.”
Time also paid for a poll asking “Do you think Republican leaders in Congress handled the Foley situation properly or do you think they tried to cover it up?” It was 16 to 64 for a coverup. (NB)
Weiner:  Newsweek was too busy making fun of Mormons to even mention it. And Time, well hows 1 sentence & 13 words on page 83 for you!
Oh, and how about their obsession with bathroom stall “toe toucher” Larry Craig??.
When it’s a Liberal, Liberals don’t care and downplay it so much they don’t want you to care or better yet to even know.
They have no morals or standards for themselves because that allows them to do any damn thing they want, when they want, because they want.
They only get “outraged” over Non-Liberals for the political gain they perceive.
That’s it.
And the Liberal Media is no different.
Appearing on Tuesday’s NBC Today, advertising executive Donny Deutsch  (and MSNBC regular) and psychotherapist Robi Ludwig both agreed that the American people should not stop being “shocked” by political sex scandals. Deutsch declared: “…we have to stop being shocked and amazed….when men who are conquerors by nature also chase women….we as a society have got to become a little more anesthetized to this.”
As long as it’s a Liberal, that is.
Remember the “it was nothing” poo-poo of President Clinton having oral sex in the Oval office?
The Liberal media doesn’t.
They went after the people who leaked it. Just like they went after Andrew Breitbart this time.
The Liberal Media is totally biased and totally a propaganda arm of the Liberal Democrats.
Period.
There was an 8-to-1 story bias after Jared Loughner shot Congressman Giffords, about how Conservative Hate Speech had obviously pushed this guy over the edge.
It wasn’t true. But the liberal media didn’t care.
It was an opportunity to score some hate points.
Then they came out with their “civility” guidelines, which as it turned out were only meant to muzzle non-liberals not their hate speech and vile political bile.
And that’s why they are crowdsourcing the Palin Emails. They want dirt! Any dirt!
And if they don’t get it they’ll make it up!
It’s not like they care if they are lying.
It’s not as if you’re supposed to care that they are lying.
Why would that matter?
Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy:

And Leopards in the Liberal Media are not going to change their spots. 🙂

The Devil You May Not Know

(ARLINGTON, Va.) – A draft executive order that would force government contractors to disclose all political contributions would make it too easy for political appointees to punish contractors for their political views or to coerce contributions from firms, officials with the Associated General Contractors of America warned today in testimony submitted to Congress.

“The process outlined in the draft executive order would make it much easier for government officials to use the political activities of government contractors as a factor when awarding contracts,” Stephen E. Sandherr, the association’s chief executive officer noted in testimony submitted today to a hearing held jointly between the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform and the Committee on Small Business. “This order actually introduces, instead of excludes, politics from government contracting.”

So you have if you give your political contributions to the wrong source (aka Republican or Tea Party) then you might not get that big fat government contract.

Be a toadie and and an apparatchik or else. Even if you hate me (a Liberal Democrat), give me money or else!!

Now that’s good for business…

“This rule makes it look like the Administration is more interested in punishing political opponents and propping up political allies than protecting public taxpayers.”–Stephen E. Sandherr, CEO Associated General Contractors of America.

It does indeed. Now ask them if they (the liberal progressives) care? 😦

My bet, Not even a little bit.

Oh, and the journalists covering the stories, well, they just might not be very impartial either.

Gov. Mike Huckabee (2010): I’m sad to report today a death of a good friend to all of us…..Journalism, the once esteemed 4th estate of our nation and the protector of our freedoms and a watchdog of our rights has passed away after a long struggle with a crippling and debilitating disease of acute dishonesty aggravated by advanced laziness and the loss of brain function.

When liberal investor George Soros gave $1.8 million to National Public Radio , it became part of the firestorm of controversy that jeopardized NPR’s federal funding. But that gift only hints at the widespread influence the controversial billionaire has on the mainstream media. Soros, who spent $27 million trying to defeat President Bush in 2004 (and millions getting Obama elected), has ties to more than 30 mainstream news outlets – including The New York Times, Washington Post, the Associated Press (see later story), NBC and ABC.

Prominent journalists like ABC’s Christiane Amanpour and former Washington Post editor and now Vice President Len Downie serve on boards of operations that take Soros cash. This despite the Society of Professional Journalists’ ethical code stating: “avoid all conflicts real or perceived.”

The investigative reporting start-up ProPublica is a prime example. ProPublica, which recently won its second Pulitzer Prize, initially was given millions of dollars from the Sandler Foundation to “strengthen the progressive infrastructure” – “progressive” being the code word for very liberal. In 2010, it also received a two-year contribution of $125,000 each year from the Open Society Foundations. In case you wonder where that money comes from, the OSF website is http://www.soros.org. It is a network of more than 30 international foundations, mostly funded by Soros, who has contributed more than $8 billion to those efforts.

The ProPublica stories are thoroughly researched by top-notch staffers who used to work at some of the biggest news outlets in the nation. But the topics are almost laughably left-wing. The site’s proud list of  “Our Investigations” includes attacks on oil companies, gas companies, the health care industry, for-profit schools and more. More than 100 stories on the latest lefty cause: opposition to drilling for natural gas by hydraulic fracking. Another 100 on the evils of the foreclosure industry.

Throw in a couple investigations making the military look bad and another about prisoners at Guantanamo Bay and you have almost the perfect journalism fantasy – a huge budget, lots of major media partners and a liberal agenda unconstrained by advertising.

One more thing: a 14-person Journalism Advisory Board, stacked with CNN’s David Gergen and representatives from top newspapers, a former publisher of The Wall Street Journal and the editor-in-chief of Simon & Schuster. Several are working journalists, including:

• Jill Abramson, a managing editor of The New York Times;

• Kerry Smith, the senior vice president for editorial quality of ABC News;

• Cynthia A. Tucker, the editor of the editorial page of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

ProPublica is far from the only Soros-funded organization that is stacked with members of the supposedly neutral press.

The Center for Public Integrity is another great example. Its board of directors is filled with working journalists like Amanpour from ABC, right along side blatant liberal media types like Arianna Huffington, of the Huffington Post and now AOL.

Like ProPublica, the CPI board is a veritable Who’s Who of journalism and top media organizations, including:

• Christiane Amanpour – Anchor of ABC’s Sunday morning political affairs program, “This Week with Christiane Amanpour.” A reliable lefty, she has called tax cuts “giveaways,” the Tea Party “extreme,” and Obama “very Reaganesque.”

• Paula Madison – Executive vice president and chief diversity officer for NBC Universal, who leads NBC Universal’s corporate diversity initiatives, spanning all broadcast television, cable, digital, and film properties.

• Matt Thompson – Editorial product manager at National Public Radio and an adjunct faculty member at the prominent Poynter Institute.

The group’s advisory board features:

• Ben Sherwood, ABC News president and former “Good Morning America” executive producer

Once again, like ProPublica, the Center for Public Integrity’s investigations are mostly liberal – attacks on the coal industry, payday loans and conservatives like Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour. The Center for Public Integrity is also more open about its politics, including a detailed investigation into conservative funders David and Charles Koch and their “web of influence.”According to the center’s own 990 tax forms, the Open Society Institute gave it $651,650 in 2009 alone.

The well-known Center for Investigative Reporting follows the same template – important journalists on the board and a liberal editorial agenda. Both the board of directors and the advisory board contain journalists from major news outlets. The board features:

• Phil Bronstein (President), San Francisco Chronicle;

• David Boardman, The Seattle Times;

• Len Downie, former Executive Editor of the Washington Post, now VP;

• George Osterkamp, CBS News producer.

Readers of the site are greeted with numerous stories on climate change, illegal immigration and the evils of big companies. It counts among its media partners The Washington Post, Salon, CNN and ABC News. CIR received close to $1 million from Open Society from 2003 to 2008.

Why does it all matter? Journalists, we are constantly told, are neutral in their reporting. In almost the same breath, many bemoan the influence of money in politics. It is a maxim of both the left and many in the media that conservatives are bought and paid for by business interests. Yet where are the concerns about where their money comes from?

Fred Brown, who recently revised the book “Journalism Ethics: A Casebook of Professional Conduct for News Media,” argues journalists need to be “transparent” about their connections and “be up front about your relationship” with those who fund you.

Unfortunately, that rarely happens. While the nonprofits list who sits on their boards, the news outlets they work for make little or no effort to connect those dots. Amanpour’s biography page, for instance, talks about her lengthy career, her time at CNN and her many awards. It makes no mention of her affiliation with the Center for Public Integrity.

If journalists were more up front, they would have to admit numerous uncomfortable connections with groups that push a liberal agenda, many of them funded by the stridently liberal George Soros. So don’t expect that transparency any time soon.

Oh and that polling data showing how Obama is now Mohammad Ali and is staging a miraculous comeback and people love him after he gave the order to Kill bin Laden like something out of a Video Game…

Well… IT JUST MIGHT BE RIGGED!!

Wow! The AP poll has Obama’s approval rating hitting 60 percent! And 53 percent say he deserves to be reelected!

And on the economy, 52 percent approve of the way Obama’s handling it, and only 47 percent disapprove! He’s up 54–46 on approval of how he’s handling health care! On unemployment, 52 percent approval, 47 percent disapproval! 57 percent approval on handling Libya! Even on the deficit, he’s at 47 percent approval, 52 percent disapproval!

It is a poll of adults, which isn’t surprising; as I mentioned yesterday, you don’t have to be a registered or likely voter to have an opinion on the president.

But then you get to the party ID: 46 percent identify as Democrat or leaning Democrat, 29 percent identify as Republican or leaning Republican, 4 percent identify as purely independent leaning towards neither party, and 20 percent answered, “I don’t know.”

With a poll sample that has a 17-percentage-point margin in favor of the Democrats, is anyone surprised that these results look like a David Axelrod dream?

(Interestingly, George W. Bush is at 50 percent approval, 49 percent disapproval, even in this sample wildly weighted in favor of the Democrats.)

AP response: Some conservatives criticized the AP-GfK poll as heavy with responses from Democrats that skewed the results. AP-GfK polls use a consistent methodology that draws a random sample of the population independent of party identification.

But the question isn’t really whether the sample changed too much from their poll in April; the question is whether the sample accurately reflects the American public at large, and whether we indeed have 1.63 Democrats in this country for every 1 Republican. If their sample had an unrealistic proportion of Democrats one month, it’s entirely possible they can get a similar unrealistic proportion the following month. (NRO)

Ya Think? 🙂

Naw, Liberals would never do that…

Lying, cheating, and stealing…Naw, never happen.

Dishonesty, disingenuous and pure self-interest…never happens… 🙂

So Caveat Emptor. Buyer Beware!

What About Ideas & Solutions?

Political Cartoons by Lisa Benson
First off, a bit of news and information:
Food stamp usage indicates that in December those receiving an average of $134 per month has just hit 44.1 million people.
In other words, America is now the land of the free, home of the brave, of whom 14.3% can’t afford to eat, even with all the new jobs created.
47% of people don’t pay taxes at all.
7% are Public Sector Union Members (All Unions are 12% total workforce) but they are being magnified by the Liberal media to be everyone.
And there are forecasts for another 15-25% drop in the housing market.
But yet, they are entitled. And making any cuts will turn today’s kids into tomorrow’s criminals, according to the Left’s latest fear-that-is-not-fearmongering.
Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz (D-FL) on MSDNC:
“I was at a childcare center in my district, Monday and literally stood with moms who who when they lose their childcare, they’re going to have to stop working. They’re not going to be able to send their kids to school and they won’t get an early childhood education. And we know that cuts like that will directly lead to kids becoming criminals later on. We know there’s that direct proportional relationship. So we’ve got to make sure the cuts are the right cuts as well.”
Cogent <Research>  found that only 20% of plans can meet their financial obligations to plan participants. The deficit is due mainly to union and public pension plans: Only 10% and 12%, respectively, reported a current funding status of 95% or greater. A majority (54%) of public pensions said their current funding status is below 80%, and 16% had a current funding status below 60%.

As for the Media:

Only 1 out of 24 network evening stories about the Wisconsin “feud” since Feb. 16, reported a critical number relating to union pensions: $1 trillion. That’s the huge deficit facing public workers’ pensions in America and the reason Walker and other state governors are facing tough choices including demanding public workers contribute more.

ABC’s Barbara Pinto reported on the “looming crisis” on “World News” Feb. 21, the sixth night of coverage. Pinto said: “[P]ension plans for America’s public workers that are underfunded by at least a trillion dollars. Finance professor Joshua Rauh thinks the debt could be at least three times as much.”

She then quoted Rauh who said, “The only people who can pay for this are current taxpayers, future taxpayers, public employees, if their benefits are cut.” (MRC)

So the media doesn’t want to talk about reality. They want to talk about saving their agenda. Remember, Public Sector Unions make up 7% of the workforce and the media makes it sound like Armageddon is coming.
Armageddon is coming, but the media is ignoring it!!!
But don’t worry, be whiny…

Just how serious is the administration?

Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. walked out of Thursday’s high-stakes negotiations to stop a government shutdown and said the conversations will continue — but he won’t actually be part of them since he leaves this weekend for major negotiations with European leaders.

President Obama on Wednesday tapped Mr. Biden, his “sheriff” on the stimulus, to lead negotiations with Congress, though Mr. Biden already had a prearranged trip scheduled to visit Finland, Russia and Moldova next week.

Sure I always put the guy who’s going on off for a week in charge of a 2 week do-or-die strategy meeting!!

Oh, and the Democrats are measuring their “cuts” against the 2010 Budget they refused to pass last year!!

God Help us all!

*********************************************************************

So Let’s Talk Ideas for a moment:

Today, the federal government spends almost $10 billion per day. That’s money we simply do not have. Reckless spending and reduced revenues from the economic recession have produced the largest deficits in U.S. history — $1.4 trillion in 2009 and $1.5 trillion in 2010. That means almost $3 trillion has been added to the nation’s total debt in just two years.

Based on current spending levels, the public debt will total $20 trillion by 2020. That’s $20,000,000,000,000.

The federal government pays over $600 million in interest payments every working day. By 2020, when the public debt is $20 trillion, the annual interest payment will be almost $1 trillion — the largest single item in the entire federal budget.

That means that more will be spent on paying the interest on the debt than on our children’s education or our nation’s defense.

What is the One Cent Solution?

The One Cent Solution is simple: If the government cuts one cent out of every dollar of its total spending each year for five years, we can:

  • Balance the budget by 2018.
  • Reduce the debt by $2.6 trillion. That’s $2,600,000,000,000.
  • Restore America’s financial future.
One Cent Solution founder Bruce Cook offers a solution to the national debt crisis

The One Cent Solution envisions that while all areas of federal spending should be considered, some programs may be too critical to cut deeply. In that case, other programs must be reduced more so that the total amount cut is equal to one cent for every dollar each year for five years.

For a simple example, let’s say the federal budget only had three programs funded, each with an annual budget of just $1.00.

  1. Program A is simply cut by one cent every year for five years. That means the annual budget for Program A is $0.99 in 2012, and then $0.98, $0.97, $0.96, and finally $0.95.
  2. However, no cuts may be recommended for Program B. It is already lean.
  3. But then, Program C would have to be cut by two cents each year for five years so that the total federal budget is cut by one cent for every total dollar, for a balanced budget by 2018.

The One Cent Solution contains three key distinctive elements.

The Three Keys

1. A Plan that Works

The One Cent Solution gradually reduces total government spending by making cuts equal to one cent of every dollar each year for five years. This simple solution balances the budget by 2018, reduces the debt by $2.6 trillion and restores America’s financial future.

2. Legislative Strategy

To achieve the necessary spending reductions, the One Cent Solution calls for legislation that would impose strict caps on total government spending. Congress would be required to enact reforms to all spending programs, either by creating a special Commission or by the “regular order” of business, working through the appropriate committee structures. Although some programs may be cut more than 1% and some less, total government spending must be cut by 1% each year for five years. If Congress fails to enact the needed reforms, then the legislation would require mandatory, “across the board” 1% spending cuts to bring spending reductions into line with the One Cent Solution requirements.

Last year, President Obama created a debt commission to recommend spending cuts and tax increases. Little agreement was reached, and no action has been taken. The One Cent Solution is different. Here’s how:

Commission Comparison

3. Public Support

As citizens, we must own the problem. It’s just not right for us to pass on this debt to our children and grandchildren. Tough decisions are ahead. The key to balancing the budget and reducing the national debt is you.

If we sign on 1 million citizens with representation from every congressional district, we can get Congress to focus on this solution and give them the political will to act. The One Cent Solution is a true American grassroots movement, started by citizens who believe good ideas can originate outside of Washington.

Through the One Cent Solution campaign, we are not only insisting upon action, we are providing a nonpartisan, simple, equitable way to get the job done.

Become the solution.

Why not try simple and fair 🙂

It’s got to be better than over-complicated and political. No favoritism.

Just hard choices.

I’ve never said that cutting federal spending won’t be difficult, but making difficult decisions is what we elected our members of Congress to do, and we need them to act now to avoid disaster later. The One Cent Solution provides some flexibility in arriving at our target of cutting one cent out of every federal dollar spent, each year for five years, but as cuts are considered, everything must be on the table. I say that because, as Politico has pointed out below, many people think that we can achieve adequate savings by cutting waste, fraud and abuse…or going after defense spending.

I agree with those objectives, but spending will have to be widespread to be effective. Read on to see how popular belief and reality can part ways.

Misconception: 63 percent believe the federal government spends more on defense and foreign aid than it does on Medicare and Social Security. (Source: Tarrance Group, February 22-24, 2011)

Reality: “In fiscal 2010, spending for those two social programs totaled more than $1.1 trillion, while the Pentagon’s budget was about $660 billion and the State Department’s total spending was just under $52 billion.” (Source: Politico)

Misconception: 60 percent believe problems with the federal budget can be fixed by just eliminating waste, fraud and abuse. (Source: Tarrance Group, February 22-24, 2011)

Reality: “The Government Accountability Office on Tuesday released a report detailing several billion dollars’ worth of “duplication” in government spending that could be cut. But even if the totals reach the tens of billions of dollars, they would still be a drop in the bucket of President Obama’s proposed $3.73 trillion in spending for fiscal 2012.” (Source: Politico)

The General Accounting Office released a report yesterday that identifies an estimated $100 million to $200 million in duplicative spending. Imagine: we have 82 federal programs to improve teacher quality! Considering we just found hundreds of millions of dollars under the U.S. couch cushions, I am more convinced than ever that Congress can reduce each federal dollar spent by one penny each year for the next five years — cuts that lead to a balanced budget and $2.6 trillion of debt relief without raising taxes.

School districts had total expenditures of approximately $562.3 billion in 2006–07, including about $476.8 billion in current expenditures for public elementary and secondary education. Of the remaining expenditures, $62.9 billion was spent on capital outlay, $14.7 billion on interest payments on debt, and $7.8 billion on other programs (programs such as community services and adult education, which are not a part of public elementary and secondary education). SOURCE: U.S. Department of Education, National Center for Education Statistics. (2010).

But yet we have illiterate and uninformed students graduating and we have Unions with unfunded mandates that stretch into the Trillions of dollars.

Do you think there’s a problem here?

WISCONSIN DEMS: WE’RE ON THE LAM UNTIL WALKER TALKS

Aka he gives in and capitulates to the Liberals demands. Thats spirit of “compromise”, “bi-partisanship” and “civility” is alive in Madison, WI.

The headline and following picture are on the front page of the Huffington Post, you know the liberal bastion that just joined with AOL making Arianna Huffington a very rich person in a very capitalistic deal… 🙂

Funny last time I saw signs similar to this the protesters were called “astroturf”, “stupid”, “morons”, “idiots”, violent”, “domestic terrorists”…Oh sorry that was people protesting the Liberals! 🙂

This was considered “offensive” by the Huffington Post in 2009 (Look it up):

How dare they use Children! EVIL!
How many children can you spot in the first picture on the front page of today’s Huffington Post. 🙂

Just remember, Do as I say, Not as I do. – The Liberal Creed!  🙂

The Wisconsin Senate I understand is still childishly hiding out in Illinois, probably on the taxpayers dime!

And the Liberals are happy!

These are “good” Protesters. Tea Party protesters are EVIL!

Wisconsin Republicans to move all the furniture around while Dems are hiding in Illinois — If Wisconsin’s Democratic state senators thought they pulled a fast one by booking it for Illinois rather than allowing their Republican colleagues to rescind the collective bargaining privileges of public servants, they thought wrong. While twenty senators are required for a quorum on fiscal issues, and there are only 19 Republicans, “a simple majority of 17 members constitutes a quorum for other bills in the 33-seat state senate.” When Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker calls the Senate into session this week, “there is a whole legislative agenda that Republicans in the senate and assembly can start acting on that only requires simple majorities” Walker told National Review Online. “If [Dems] want to do their jobs, and have a say, they better show up.” (DC)

The Liberal View (from the San Jose Sentinel): MADISON, Wis. — To end a high-stakes stalemate over union rights that has captured the nation’s attention, a handful of Republican lawmakers in Wisconsin might have to stand up to their new governor.

There’s that spirit of “compromise” and “Bi-partisanship”. You will have to compromise YOUR principles. YOU will have to give in to OUR demands.

The very thought of they, the Liberals, having to compromise is so ludicrous they can’t even fathom it.

Protesters who crowded inside the Capitol for a sixth day Sunday had a similar message. They hung a banner in the Capitol reading “Wisconsin needs 3 cou(R)ageous Senators,” referring to the number of Republicans needed to join with Democrats to block the bill.

That’s why I say “bi-partisanship” and “compromise” are Liberal buzzwords for agree with me, shut up, and sit down and don’t do that again!

As for “civility”: Same thing.  You are being uncivil when you do as Liberal asks or you ask THEM to do something for you. You are their servants, not the other way around.

Wisconsin State Senator Mark Miller Calls Governor Scott Walker’s Budget Tactics ‘Insulting,’ Asks for ‘Respect’.

In other, shut up!, sit down, and don’t you dare do that again, young man!

“We hope that the governor will respect the workers of Wisconsin and maintain the long standing tradition of sitting down and negotiating issues, sit down and treat people like human beings, like the human beings that provided such valuable public services and that’s our goal,” he said.

Ohhh! So now The Governor’s an evil  inhuman monster!! And he should be talked to like a child who had knocked over the family’s priceless  crystal vase!

Next thing you know they’ll ask for a “time out” in the corner next. That is if they ever come back to Wisconsin and don’t just hide out like cowards in Illinois.

And then you go for the Talking Points: <<Drum roll please>>

“We had a much bigger deficit at the end of the Bush recession that hit our state and every state like a thunderclap. It was a $6.6 billion deficit and we solved that deficit and employees stepped up,” Miller told me. (ABC)

Oh course the huge budget deficit left by the Democrat Governor and the Democrat legislature is BUSH’s FAULT!!!

<<rimshot>>

So predictable….

What the Democrats don’t like isn’t dictatorship, it is democracy. That is why the Democrats in the Wisconsin Senate fled the state en masse–they prevented a quorum, so that a vote they were going to lose couldn’t take place. Once again, it is democracy they are trying to frustrate, not dictatorship.

Dictatorship are much easier for Liberals to fathom because then everyone has no choice but to do whatever they say, no matter how balmy and narcissistic it is.

With state budgets collapsing around the nation, an increasingly bright spotlight has been focused on the activities of many public sector unions, perhaps none more so than the teachers unions. Since most of the news is rather alarming to say the least, here at Hot Air we feel obliged to bring you a true feel-good story of union activity to brighten your winter days.

The story focuses on Central Falls school in Rhode Island, an educational institute in such a sorry state of affairs that their drop-out rates were staggering and many students didn’t even log enough classroom time to receive a grade. Last year, in an apparent sign of throwing up their hands in despair, the school board took the drastic measure of firing all 88 of Central Falls’ teachers.

Now, I already know what you’re thinking here. “But Jazz, what about those poor, unemployed teachers? Couldn’t anyone do anything to help them?”

Fear not! In charged the Rhode Island Federation of Teachers, who not only got all of their jobs back… they landed them a raise. And all of this is taking place in a community which wouldn’t even qualify as “working class” by most standards. The average wages in the Central Falls region are very low.

So in this town where the average income is $22,000 the average teacher is now making $76,000. What are the community members paying for?

James Parisi: The highest paid teachers are making about $76,000, which frankly I don’t think is enough for the committed professionals that are in that school district.

CNN: You had a 93% fail rate. That’s undeniable.

JP: And you think that’s caused by teacher’s actions?

CNN: Absolutely.

JP: I don’t think the teachers are responsible.

Oh course not!…sing it with me….IT WAS GEORGE W BUSH’s FAULT!!!!!!!! 🙂

Frank Flynn, president of the Rhode Island Federation of Teachers, said he called Chafee Tuesday morning and asked him to help “move this school forward, because the students of Central Falls deserve nothing less.”

Ever notice how Liberals always want to look to the future or “move forward” (or “lean forward if you’re MSDNC) when people want to talk about their screw ups but they are obsessed with the past when they are talking about those who oppose them!

And how did that work out? Not so well, apparently, as 93% of the students are still failing to meet minimum standards in math and reading, with large numbers once again not even receiving a grade of any sort.

The teacher’s aren’t taking all of this unwanted attention lying down, though. This fall they staged a “sick out” in protest of the increasing demands for improved performance. Also, American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten visited the area to demand that everyone “stop playing the blame game,” and focus on the real needs of the students. (These needs apparently don’t include new, better teachers in the opinion of Ms. Weingarten.)

So there you have it. The feel good story of the week. See? And you thought the unions weren’t out there doing anything productive. (Hot Air)

Why is failure, year after year, not only tolerated but welcomed at the administrative level?

Why?

Because Liberals are never wrong, that’s why. At least they think so.

And you can’t prove them wrong, because they never are.

Just ask them. 🙂

A Little Perspective

He laughs cynically… 🙂

Two of the central promises of President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul law are unlikely to be fulfilled, Medicare’s independent economic expert told Congress on Wednesday.

The landmark legislation probably won’t hold costs down, and it won’t let everybody keep their current health insurance if they like it, Chief Actuary Richard Foster told the House Budget Committee. His office is responsible for independent long-range cost estimates.

Foster was asked by Rep. Tom McClintock, R-Calif., for a simple true or false response on two of the main assertions made by supporters of the law: that it will bring down unsustainable medical costs and will let people keep their current health insurance if they like it.

On the costs issue, “I would say false, more so than true,” Foster responded.

As for people getting to keep their coverage, “not true in all cases.”

So is it “uncivil” of me to cackle cynically and say “I told you so!” 🙂

Foster says analysis by his office shows that the health care law will raise the nation’s health care tab modestly because newly insured people will be getting medical services they would have otherwise gone without.

Costs could also increase if Medicare cuts to hospitals, nursing homes and home health agencies turn out to be politically unsustainable over the years. The actuary’s office has projected those cuts would eventually force about 15 percent of providers into the red. The health care law funnels savings from the Medicare cuts to provide coverage to uninsured workers and their families.

As for people getting to keep their health insurance plan, Foster’s office is projecting that more than 7 million Medicare recipients in private Medicare Advantage plans will eventually have to find other coverage, cutting enrollment in the plans by about half.

The health care law gradually cuts generous government payments to the plans, so insurers are expected to raise premiums or even drop out. And the main reason seniors have flocked to the private plans is that they offer lower out-of-pocket costs.

Medicare recipients who lose private coverage would still be guaranteed coverage in the traditional program, but they would likely have to take out a supplementary insurance plan for gaps in their coverage. (Fox and AP)

If you dig you can find it on ABC News and they post this also (they are too busy talking about Snow to put it in the headlines):

The White House responded to Foster’s testimony in a blog post by Stephanie Cutter, a top aide helping to guide the political strategy on health care. “Once again, we disagree,” Cutter wrote. “History shows that it is possible to implement measures that will save money for Medicare and the federal government.”

And what are those measures, pre tell??

Then the trash talk starts.

Obama White House officials predict that Foster will be proven wrong about the health care law. Republicans hang on his every word.

NBC and CBS all lead with the Snow and make finding this story very hard (smelling a pattern here…:) )

Damn That Global WARMING! 🙂

The Leftists at the Huffington Post banner headline was bashing Republicans (as always) but if you search you can find the story. While the headline suggests what the other did the text doesn’t. It starts with  story about how the Obama vision is correct and here are the “experts” who say the Actuary is full of crap first then they get “civil”.

It’s a dispute about numbers and how they’re bandied about by powerful people in Washington.

But you don’t need an economics degree to follow this one. All you have to do is remember your fractions.

But then there’s : The health care law expands coverage, reducing the number of uninsured by more than 32 million, although about 24 million will remain without coverage.

Gee, I thought this was supposed to cover EVERYONE. After all EVERYONE is required BY LAW to have insurance or else the jackboots at the IRS will come a kick in your door and FINE you!

Curiouser and Curiouser!

If you divide total national health care spending by a bigger number of insured people, you get a smaller per-person result.

“It’s not that it’s false, it’s just that it will be a little misleading,” John Allen Paulos, a mathematics professor at Temple University in Philadelphia, said of the White House number, calling it an “apples-to-oranges miscomparison.”

Talk about schizophrenic. The Huffington Post is trying to convince itself WHILE it’s writing the article!

And should we mention just how simplistic this line of reasoning actually is and how this so simplistic as to be silly?

Probably Not. They’ll just hate me anyways.

In 2019, when the overhaul is fully phased in, the tab will be $4.6 trillion. (Huffington Post)

Gee, that’s not much. 🙂

Then there’s this one:

The White House has renominated Donald M. Berwick to be Medicare chief six months after bypassing the Senate and installing him in the job in a recess appointment.

Obama initially nominated Berwick last April. After the recess appointment in July, Berwick could serve through this year without Senate confirmation. (CBS)

So they have avoided having him go through a Senate Confirmation TWICE now.

So what are they hiding. 🙂

Could it be “The decision is not whether or not we will ration care – the decision is whether we will ration with our eyes open.”

or

“Using unwanted procedures in terminal illness is a form of assault. In economic terms it is a waste.”

Nothing to worry about. Nothing to see here.

Ignore the 800 lb gorilla about pound you into ground.

Don’t worry about the inconsistencies and the bold faced lies.

Be “civil” and just ignore all the “investments”.

ANN COULTER

I missed the middle section of Obama’s State of the Union address when I took a break to read “War and Peace,” but I gather he never got around to what I was hoping he’d say, which is: “What was I thinking?”

The national debt is $14 trillion, the Democrats won’t stop spending, and President Nero gave us a long gaseous speech about his Stradivarius.

I feel so Southern whenever I watch a Democrat give a State of the Union address — and not just because it makes me want to secede. Consternating the rest of the family, my Kentucky mother always talked back to the TV. I do it only when a Democrat is giving a speech.

And if liberals didn’t like Samuel Alito mouthing the words “not true,” they should be really happy I wasn’t in the House chamber Tuesday night.

All I kept hearing was, “Ann pays more.” That’s all I ever I hear when Democrats start in with all that “investing.”

Apparently the government will be “investing” in education, “investing” in technology, “investing” in roads and “investing” in lots and lots of government workers. Ann pays more, Ann pays more, Ann pays more.

Obama compared “investing” in education to our sending a man to the moon after the Russians launched Sputnik. Say, who was the president who recently gutted spending on NASA? Oh yes, that was Obama.

So he reminded us of the glory days of the space program, but now he’s taking that money and funneling it to public school teachers. As the Democrats say: “If we can put a man on the moon, why can’t we hire another 10,000 public school teachers?”

Also, solar panels. Obama said the government was already “investing” in solar panels! That’s a total relief. This must be how the president who brought us “Recovery Summer” is going to dig us out of the second Great Depression.

But I do wonder why no private lender considered solar panels a wise investment, forcing solar panel manufacturers to turn to the government for loans, followed by endless tax credits just to break even.

I guess people who work for the government are just smarter. We’re so lucky to have them “investing” our money for us! Boy, egg must be on Warren Buffett’s face!

Remember how massive government “investments” gave rise to the telephone, the light bulb, the automobile, the airplane, the personal computer … OK, none of those.

But massive government expenditures did give us Amtrak and the TSA!

The only thing Obama vowed to cut were “earmarks.” Yippee!

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid though is Mad at Obama For it!

Senate Majority leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) has a message for the president when it comes to his call for earmark elimination: “Back off.”

“It’s an effort by the White House to get more power. They’ve got enough power as it is.”

You just can’t write this kind of comedy. Imagine, The Senate Majority leader who was the instrument that crammed ObamaCare down your throat through unconstitutional and immoral tricks of procedure is complaining about government power reaching into his drug of choice!! Imagine that!! 🙂

Hilarious.

The guy with the ears is against earmarks. Yes, the same president who quadrupled our deficit by giving money away to his UAW pals, Wall Street cronies and government workers is now lecturing us about earmarks. This is a bit like being scolded by Charlie Sheen for ordering a second wine cooler (and the hooker).

You knew it was bad when John McCain leapt up and enthusiastically applauded. The last time I saw McCain applaud Obama like that was when he debated him. 🙂

Obama said, “We are the nation that put cars in driveways and computers in offices; the nation of Edison and the Wright brothers; of Google and Facebook.”

And then the government outlawed Edison’s great invention, made the Wright brothers’ air travel insufferable, filed anti-trust charges against Microsoft and made cars too expensive to drive by prohibiting oil exploration, and right now — at this very minute — is desperately trying to regulate the Internet.

On the bright side, President Al Gore would have actually outlawed the cars in those driveways.

I especially enjoyed his pitch for high-speed trains where you “don’t have to receive pat-downs.” At least until one of those Muslims who is “part of our American family” blows one up — at which point they’ll be staffed with armies of genital-fondling, unionized TSA agents on the public dime.

Still, I can’t wait for Obama’s America. An America where I can use lightning-fast, high-speed Internet to file electronically for my unemployment benefits. Or better yet, I can ditch my old “oil-powered” car and take a “sunlight and water”-powered high-speed train to the unemployment office for a change.

And I hear CalTech is working on biofuels to power “Recovery Summer 2011.”

The big laugh line was when Nero said mockingly, “I heard rumors that a few of you still have concerns about the health care law.” That’s called “60 percent of the American public.” It’s not a joke, and it’s not funny.

Here’s one: Hey, Obama! Guy walks into a bar in the Gaza Strip. The bartender says, “What’ll you have?” But the guy is killed instantly when an Iranian-made CT-28 missile strikes the bar, also killing a woman and small child next door. Get it, Obama? HA HA!

Synthesizing Karl Marx and Ronald Reagan, Obama said the government will soon be taking over every aspect of our lives, and Republicans can’t stop him — but gosh, isn’t America a great country! Teachers are great, we need to innovate, children are our future, we need paved roads, kids should do their homework, Labrador puppies are cute, I like apple pie, I (heart) Justin Bieber, and how about them Yankees! Now, here’s your 2011 tax bill — how would you like to pay for that?

Actually, I was glad to hear him say that “there isn’t a person here” — which presumably included Democrats — who would live anyplace else.

Then why are they always trying to turn us into Western Europe?

We see the problems in Greece, The Uk, Ireland and Portugal.

We see the train coming. But instead of getting out of the way of the train, the Democrats just want to “invest” in more tracks!!

The Ministry of Truth

“I’m sad to report today a death of a good friend to all of us…..Journalism, the once esteemed 4th estate of our nation and the protector of our freedoms and a watchdog of our rights has passed away after a long struggle with a crippling and debilitating disease of acute dishonesty aggravated by advanced laziness and the loss of brain function.”–Governor Mike Huckabee (2009)

Just days before the biggest election in my lifetime and you want to know where the Mainstream Media is?

Stumping for the Democrats and trying to smear the Republicans as best they can.

And The President?

He’s on Spanish Language radio telling hispanics to get to the polls to stop their “enemies” (aka non-socialist democrats).

In one recent example, on Monday President Obama urged Latinos to “punish our enemies” during a Univision broadcast.

“If Latinos sit out the election,” Obama said, “instead of saying, ‘We’re gonna punish our enemies and we’re gonna reward our friends who stand with us on issues that are important to us,’ if they don’t see that kind of upsurge in voting in this election, then I think it’s gonna be harder . . . “

“He’s the president of the United States. The president is supposed to be the president of all the people, even those who disagree with his agenda and who disagree with him,” FOX’s Monica Crowley said.

He and the Media obviously don’t think so.

He’s only interested in his apparatchiks. Everyone else is an “enemy” of his State.

After all, the end justifies the means.

“The session of Congress now drawing to a close was the most productive in nearly half a century,” the AP’s Jim Abrams touted Monday.

On CBS’s Sunday Morning, correspondent Rita Braver applauded House Speaker Nancy Pelosi as “one of the most effective speakers in congressional history,” “a hero in some quarters,” and “the irresistible force who marshaled House Democrats to pass controversial administration policies — including the stimulus package, Wall Street reform, and health care.”

CBS’s Lesley Stahl popped up on MSNBC’s Morning Joe on Monday to fret how the dreadful economy is hurting Obama’s image, as if his administration’s policies are thoroughly unrelated: ”He’s fighting an economy that just won’t give him anything….No credit. No credit at all for what he’s accomplished.”

The broadcast TV networks have systematically skewed their coverage against Republicans and the Tea Party, a new study by the Media Research Center finds. MRC analysts reviewed the ABC, CBS and NBC evening newscasts from September 1 through October 25. Key findings:

■ Only conservative/Tea Party candidates cast as “extreme.” Congressional Democrats and President Obama are facing voters’ wrath because of their extreme agenda over the past two years: government-run health care; massive unsupportable spending; a proposed “cap-and-trade” tax on energy, higher income taxes, etc. But MRC analysts found 35 evening news stories which conveyed the Democratic spin point that conservative and Tea Party candidates are “extreme,” “fringe,” or “out of the mainstream,” vs. ZERO stories conveying the charge that left-wing Democrats are “out of the mainstream.”

■ Three times more “conservative” labels than “liberal” tags. Out of 62 ideological labels assigned by reporters, three-fourths (48, or 77%) were aimed at conservatives, vs. just 14 (23%) for liberals. Only Republicans faced extreme labels — both Joe Miller and Christine O’Donnell were tagged as “ultra-conservatives” — with no Democrat ever branded an “ultra-liberal.”

CBS called Pennsylvania Republican Pat Toomey “conservative,” but Democrat Joe Sestak was not labeled as “liberal.” All of the networks called Christine O’Donnell a “conservative,” but none said her opponent, Chris Coons, was “liberal.” Most comically, CBS would not call loud-mouthed Florida Rep. Alan Grayson a “liberal,” but tagged his opponent Daniel Webster as “conservative.”

■ Adopting Democrats’ campaign agenda. The networks elevated contests meant to show Republicans in a poor light. While it’s not on anyone’s list of closest races, the networks devoted the most coverage to Delaware’s Senate race (15 evening news stories), emphasizing O’Donnell’s perceived gaffes. Next: the California Governor’s race (11 stories), emphasizing allegations against GOP nominee Meg Whitman. Rounding out the networks’ Top 5 were Senate races in Alaska, Nevada, and West Virginia, each the focus of four stories.

The Democrats’ strategy to salvage the 2010 campaign was to distract voters from their record over the past two years and paint their opponents as wacky extremists. Win or lose, the Democrats got a lot of help from their friends in the supposedly objective “news” media. (MRC)

And mind you, many on the left have called Obama “timid”.  Now that’s scary!!

“Over and over again, we have moved forward an agenda that is making a difference in people’s lives each and every day,” Obama said on Comedy Central last night.

Delusion or something far more darkly Orwellian? You Decide.

“My hope is that those people are rewarded for taking those tough votes,” Obama said. “If they are, then I think Democrats will do fine on Election Day.”

I got my “reward” right here, Herr Obama… <<Censored>>

So I ask you to walk with me, and march with me, and join your voice with mine, and together we will sing the song that tears down the walls that divide us, and lift up an America that is truly indivisible, with liberty, and justice, for all.–Candidate Obama January 2008.

The Twilight Zone or Just an Orwellian Nightmare.

You Decide Next Tuesday,Nov. 2

But don’t expect the Mainstream Media to be  happy afterwards. 🙂

Truth

Liberals Look away Now, The truth is coming next and the Thought Police will come knocking on your door to “re-educate” you if you read this.
It is a Thought Crime. You have been Warned!
During times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act. —George Orwell

“We’re the big dog,” said Larry Scanlon, the head of AFSCME’s political operations. “But we don’t like to brag.”

“The more members coming in, the more dues coming in, the more money we have for politics,” Mr. Scanlon said. (WSJ)

The Obama administration has made sure that we all know that the Republican-leaning Chamber of Commerce is putting big bucks into this election campaign.   But, as Brody Mullins and John McKinnon point out at WSJ, the biggest spenders, by far, are labor unions.  And the biggest single spender is not the Chamber but the union representing government employees.

The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees is now the biggest outside spender of the 2010 elections, thanks to an 11th-hour effort to boost Democrats that has vaulted the public-sector union ahead of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the AFL-CIO and a flock of new Republican groups in campaign spending.

The 1.6 million-member AFSCME is spending a total of $87.5 million on the elections after tapping into a $16 million emergency account to help fortify the Democrats’ hold on Congress. Last week, AFSCME dug deeper, taking out a $2 million loan to fund its push. The group is spending money on television advertisements, phone calls, campaign mailings and other political efforts, helped by a Supreme Court decision that loosened restrictions on campaign spending.

And, uncharacteristically, WSJ is underselling the trend.  The true figure for public employee union spending is at least $171.5 million, since SEIU and NEA surely count.  And those are just organizations in the top 5.

It’s a bizarre cycle, really.  Government is far and away the biggest employer in this country.  And that makes government employees the largest and most motivated voting block.  While government’s role in most of our lives is somewhat hidden, it’s these people’s livelihood.  As distasteful as people might find big business getting together to engage in rent seeking, it’s much better than people who make their living off the taxpayer working to elect people who will keep shoveling money their way.

While there’s something to the myth of the government bureaucrat getting paid for doing next to nothing, their number includes members of the armed forces, foreign service, intelligence community, teachers, and others who do vital and important work.   My dad drew a DoD paycheck most of his working life and I’ve worked for the military and state universities.  And, surely, these people have every right to vote and to organize to elect candidates who will work to enact their views into public policy.

But there is nonetheless something unsettling about having our employees organizing to extract more money from us. (Outside the Lines)

So that’s why the Unions and the Liberals were so mad about the Supreme Court decision that allows companies to have a voice. It was treading on their turf.

Gee, I guess that was “fair”. 🙂

And some of that money they are spending is undoubtedly the taxpayer-funded bailouts of the unions.

The union is spending heavily this year because “a lot of people are attacking public-sector workers as the problem,” said AFSCME President Gerald McEntee. “We’re spending big. And we’re damn happy it’s big. And our members are damn happy it’s big—it’s their money,” he said.

Well, isn’t that special. 🙂

“The president has been crystal clear that third-party groups which spend tens of millions of dollars from anonymous sources are a threat to our democracy—regardless of which candidates they support,” said White House spokesman Josh Earnest. He said these groups are disproportionately backing Republican candidates.

[AFSCME]

Yeah, That’s Liberal math for you. No wonder the kids today are so poor at it.

But don’t expect the liberal socialist Ministry of Truth to care, by the way.

You won’t see this on ABC,NBC,CBS, or CNN and certainly MSDNC would have to commit seppuku if it mentioned it.

I’m sad to report today a death of a good friend to all of us…..Journalism, the once esteemed 4th estate of our nation and the protector of our freedoms and a watchdog of our rights has passed away after a long struggle with a crippling and debilitating disease of acute dishonesty aggravated by advanced laziness and the loss of brain function.-Governor Mike Huckabee

During times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act. —George Orwell

And this is the truth, like it or not! 🙂

Come Hell or High Water

The Congress that took the last week of July until Sept 13 off has now left Washington for all-out-war campaigning after working an exhaustive 17 days since late July and won’t be back until after they have had their heads chopped off by the American people.

Poor babies.

They left town without the House passing a budget for the first time since 1974. The 4th time the Senate has done it since 1974.

So the government that started a new fiscal year today with resolutions.

I bet your household budget works the same way. You just fake it. right? 🙂

They also left town without dealing with the Tax Increases coming on 1/1/11. They were too chicken. So they split town to save their own asses rather than tell you, your employer, or any potential employers if they were going to get hit with the largest Tax Increase in American History (for real).

Failure to extend the Bush tax cuts will also mean a reinstatement of the marriage penalty that makes some married couples pay higher taxes filing jointly than they would if they were single and filing individual returns. It will mean cutting in half the child tax credit from $1,000 to $500. It will increase tax rates on dividends from a maximum of 15 percent to 39.6 percent, which affects seniors who depend on dividends to supplement their Social Security and pensions. And it will raise the top capital gains tax rate from 15 percent to 20 percent, stifling business investment.

It will also raise taxes anyone who pays taxes. Regardless of income.

The President repeatedly says he want to raise taxes on the rich as a class warfare tactic, but in all these months has he actually proposed an actual bill for it?

Or was he hoping Pelosi or Reid would do it for him? Be the good Lieutenants and get all the troops in line to set up for the firing squad one more time?

But the fact remains it was all talk and no action. Much like the Congress since the passage of the business buzzsaw killing Financial Reform bill the Democrats have done nothing useful since (not that they did it before to be fair).

And who is to blame for the President not proposing and the Democrats not disposing of this part of the agenda, The Republicans. 🙂

The Minority party is at fault for the President not even sending a bill containing his Tax proposals to the House and the House not willing to come up with the bill and vote on it.

It’s all those damn Republicans fault! 😦

HUH??

Now that’s a “transparent” “drain the swamp” “most ethical congress” “responsible”, “post-partisan” government isn’t it?

The real problem was there were enough Democrats  who were willing to join Republicans on an across-the-board extension of the Bush tax cuts that it made the Reid-Pelosi position of raising taxes on some higher earners untenable, so no tax bill moved forward.

But that was the Republicans fault too. 🙂

Members of Congress have now returned home to try to save their own jobs, never mind helping the millions of Americans who have lost theirs. “When we come back this fall, the election will be over,” Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid told the Washington Post. “I hope that it also means that Republicans will finally be able to put the American people ahead of their short-term political interests and ambitions.”

Now that’s responsible government.  and very “post-partisan”. 🙂

So it’s time to get your Lame Duck Poisoning Prevention Shot.

The New Roman Empire is being invaded by a hoard of Barbarians are the gate. So it’s time to prep the wells for poisoning and to raze the crops and poison the soil.

What Reid and his counterpart in the House, Speaker Nancy Pelosi, are hoping is that Democrats who lose their seats in the election will be willing to pass legislation in a lame duck session that they know the voting public doesn’t support. In Reid’s logic, they will be free to vote their liberal ideology. And it won’t matter because they will have already lost their jobs. But it is precisely this kind of arrogance that has Democrats in such poor shape heading into the mid-term elections. (Linda Chavez)

Some say you have to admire our “rock star” (in his own mind and the media’s) President for sticking to his ideology as he is 200% in campaign mode, 2008 campaign mode, that he doesn’t care about moving to the center. He wants to move even farther LEFT. Hoping to spike turnout amongst those who were fainting in his presence 2 years ago.

Now their fainting from working so hard. But that doesn’t matter. And once again, it’s supposed to be how he says it, not what he says.

Let’s party like it’s 2008!

The perception that he’s The Anointed One is supposed to trump the reality of the last 21 months.

A couple of back-to-back statements by President Obama at a town hall rally in Des Moines, Iowa, tell us all we need to know about his economic philosophy and that we aren’t going to climb out of his recession and begin to slow the growth of the national debt as long as he’s calling the shots.

Voters, he said, tell him to “cut government spending.” But “most spending is for veterans, for education, for defense. … Finding $700 billion is not easy.”

Yet a few minutes earlier, in response to criticism over illegal immigrants getting health care in the United States, he had said, “It is very important that we have compassion as part of our national character.” (How about compassion for future generations of Americans?)

Does anyone see the disconnect here? If Obama believes our national character is deficient unless we expand the welfare state to illegal immigrants, then how could he ever preside over a balanced budget?

His wildly inaccurate statement about where the money is spent is equally revealing. For fiscal year 2010, according to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities and other sources, benefits for veterans constituted about 3.5 percent of the budget; education expenditures were 3 percent; and defense and security totaled about 20 percent.

Even worse than these errors is his defeatist statement that “finding $700 billion is not easy.”

Well, of course it’s not easy if you have no desire to trim the size, functions and intrusiveness of government.

Didn’t he just say again the other day that he is “committed to fiscal responsibility”? Hasn’t he incessantly argued that President George W. Bush is the one who ran up these outlandish deficits?

We all know what a distortion and exercise in scapegoatery that is. President Bush fulfilled his promise to cut the deficit in half by 2006. In fiscal year 2007, the deficit was $161 billion. Hard to believe, isn’t it?

That’s just three years ago, and Obama says it’s nearly impossible to trim much? Even the final Bush year, which Obama continues to blame for all “this mess” and which Obama has used to establish his new deficit base line, was not actually the alleged $1.3 trillion, but closer to $800 billion when TARP repayments are factored in.

Assuming Obama even wants to bring down the deficit, his economic philosophy precludes him from advancing policies likeliest to do it. You cannot make much headway on the deficit in a period of recession, and his policies are leading us toward a double-dip recession.

Indeed, the dirty reality is that Keynesian policy works as a double whammy against fiscal sanity. It involves government’s spending money it doesn’t have, which, by definition, increases the deficit and debt. And it also increases the deficit by smothering the private sector and deterring real economic growth. There is no appreciable “multiplier effect” from monies that are spent by government fiat, as opposed to those spent in response to true market forces, including real consumer demand — as opposed to government  command.

We saw the devastating impact of reckless Keynesian policies during the Great Depression, and we’re witnessing them again today. As long as Obama is married to his redistributionist profligacy, we cannot reduce the deficit. And it’s even worse when you consider that Obama wants to raise taxes on the primary generators of economic growth, small businesses, during a slow economic period.

With his signature audacity, Obama told town hall attendees their taxes haven’t gone up in his administration. Puleeze! Obamacare, anyone — for starters? He also said Republicans haven’t been honest with voters about what needs to be done to revive the economy. “We can’t pretend that there are shortcuts,” he said.

Sorry, but he’s the one being dishonest. The Bush years saw robust economic growth until the last year of Bush’s second term. The policies that led to the subprime collapse, the recession and the skyrocketing deficit in his final year were brought upon mostly by liberal Democrats hellbent on demonstrating their “compassion” for people by insisting on loans to people who couldn’t repay them and cynically resisting President Bush’s efforts to rein in Fannie and Freddie.

President Reagan didn’t continue to blame Jimmy Carter for his malaise-ridden economy during his term. He didn’t implement policies that didn’t work after promising they would and then whine that it would “take 10 years to get out of this mess because it took us 10 years to get into this mess.” He passed tax cuts that launched an unprecedented period of peacetime growth — and not at the expense of federal revenues, as has been falsely alleged.

I don’t expect President Obama to come clean with the American people or to ever accept responsibility for his disastrous policies, much less to voluntarily change course, but it’s gratifying to see that people, including some of his supporters, are finally onto him. (David Limbaugh)

And if you were expecting the Media to do their job, of journalism. Forget it. The Propaganda ministers for Obama are in full damage control, but unlike 2008, people are less inclined to believe their spin.

But it’s all they have and if they say it often enough people will believe their lies.

Gallup: Distrust in Media Hits New High and Three Times as Many See Media as ‘Too Liberal’ Over ‘Too Conservative’
They are too busy kissing up to Rep. Alan Grayson’s so-blatant-it’s-a-supernova misrepresentation attack ad, Obama’a 2008 “glory days” (they actually use that term repeatedly) and the manipulation by the far left of a Maid of California Gubernatorial Candidate Meg Whitman who was an illegal alien (she was fired last year for this by Whitman) and now is being paraded around the media with a prepared speech and lots of crying in the most cynical of acts.
And the Liberal media eats it up and regurgitates it.
So don’t expect anything from them expect spin.
I’m sad to report today a death of a good friend to all of us…..Journalism, the once esteemed 4th estate of our nation and the protector of our freedoms and a watchdog of our rights has passed away after a long struggle with a crippling and debilitating disease of acute dishonesty aggravated by advanced laziness and the loss of brain function.” — Gov. PERFerring to Pervaricate

The handful of police chiefs who complained to Attorney General Eric Holder about Arizona’s new immigration law don’t represent law enforcement. They have a liberal agenda.

The media have breathlessly reported how the police brass traveled to Washington to voice their concerns over the law in an hour-long meeting with Holder. Left unreported was that the whole thing was staged by a liberal Washington lobby group called the Police Executive Research Forum, which a month earlier hosted longtime supporter Holder at its annual confab.

PERF’s Web site describes itself as a “progressive” organization “challenging traditional police practices.” Media also failed to note PERF is partnered with the ACLU and has lobbied against even federal enforcement of immigration laws. In fact, PERF favors amnesty for the millions of immigrants living in the U.S. illegally.

The police chiefs who attended the Holder meeting are members of PERF. One of them — Tucson Police Chief Roberto Villasenor — argued that his state’s illegal immigrant crackdown will target “a subset of the community.” Yes, a criminal subset, which is the whole point.

Still, Villasenor insisted, “This is not the focus of local law enforcement. Immigration is the focus of the federal government.”

Unfortunately, the feds aren’t focusing on the problem, forcing besieged border states like Arizona to protect themselves. And long before Arizona’s S.B. 1070 became law, Villasenor’s own county signed an agreement with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to help border agents ID and round up criminal aliens.

Tucson is the seat of Pima County — one of more than 70 law enforcement agencies across the country that ICE has deputized to crack down on illegals under the so-called 287(g) program, which PERF also opposes. Pima signed its agreement in 2008.

Rather than complaining, Villasenor should be grateful. The partnership has helped take dangerous criminals off the streets of Tucson and surrounding areas. Nationwide, it has ID’d and processed for removal more than 110,000 criminal aliens since January 2006.

Villasenor knows how bad the problem is in his state. Tellingly, he argued that the feds will be overwhelmed by the number of referrals once every cop in Arizona is empowered to check the immigration status of people they stop.

Villasenor argues the Arizona law, which takes effect July 29, will only divert resources from fighting crime. But much of Arizona’s recent crime wave involves immigrant-related drug-running, kidnapping, rape and murder. So attacking illegal immigration will at the same time reduce the overall crime rate.

It’s a shame he and other police chiefs would choose political grandstanding over the safety of the citizens they’re sworn to protect. (IBD)

Oh, and Obama found some time in his “busy” schedule to meet with Governor Jan Brewer on Thursday.

The initial response from the White House indicated a visit was not in the cards.

“We remain in regular contact with the governor and her staff,” White House spokesman Adam Abrams told reporters. “While the president’s schedule next week doesn’t allow for a meeting, he does intend to sit down with the governor in the future.”

On Tuesday, the author of Arizona’s immigration law — which Obama has called “misguided” and expressed concerns that it might be applied in a “discriminatory” fashion — criticized the president’s failure to make time to meet with Brewer, calling it “an insult.”

Republican state Sen. Russell Pearce told Fox News that the president is “willing to have a beer fest with an officer in Cambridge after he misspoke. … He misspoke on this bill also and he’s not willing to meet with the governor of the state of Arizona?”

Later on Tuesday the White House announced the president intended to meet with Brewer after all.(ABC)

So he was planning to have a meeting with Hillary and India so will they meet over a curry?

An administration official, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed that Brewer will meet Obama on Thursday at the White House.

“This administration has dedicated unprecedented resources over the past 16 months to fulfill the federal government’s responsibility to secure the Southwest border. The president looks forward to discussing those efforts and other matters of mutual interest with Governor Brewer,” the official said. (Reuters)

Does this sound like the BS it was not intended to sound like? Meaningless Orwellian drivel.

By a 3-2 vote the board moves to suspend county-funded travel to the state, possibly terminate contracts with Arizona-based companies, and divest the county pension fund of Arizona state and municipal bonds. Residents attending the meeting spoke out on both sides of the issue.

Among the speakers against the boycott were family members of Jamiel Shaw II, a 17-year-old football player who was recruited by Stanford and Rutgers before he was shot to death in 2008. Pedro Espinoza, a member of the 18th Street gang who was in the U.S. illegally, has been charged with murder in the case. He had been released from jail a day before the shooting after serving time for another offense.

“I was coming here thinking what can I say to touch their hearts? But you don’t have one,” Tommie Shaw, Shaw’s grandmother, told the supervisors.

You go Grandma! And we, at least, are sorry for your loss. I don’t think the LA City Council cares enough to be sorry.

They are too busy pandering.

And that, after all, is what all the noise is about.

Cutting on the Bias

Any foodie would recognize the phrase, but this is not about food, it’s about The Mainstream Media.

The Fifth Column.

The Ministry of Truth.

The Mainstream Media.

The Ministry of Truth is involved with news media, entertainment, the fine arts and educational books. Its purpose is to rewrite history and change the facts to fit Party doctrine for propaganda effect. For example, if Big Brother makes a prediction that turns out to be wrong, the employees of the Ministry of Truth go back and rewrite the prediction so that any prediction Big Brother previously made is accurate. This is the “how” of the Ministry of Truth’s existence. Within the novel Orwell elaborates that the deeper reason for its existence is to maintain the illusion that the Party is absolute. It cannot ever seem to change its mind (if, for instance, they perform one of their constant changes regarding enemies during war) or make a mistake (firing an official or making a grossly misjudged supply prediction), for that would imply weakness and to maintain power the Party must seem eternally right and strong. (1984 by Orwell)

ABC,NBC,CBS,CNN,MSNBC, LA TIMES, NY Times, et al anyone? 🙂

And Today’s Ministry of Truth-Busting: Arizona and The Illegal Immigration Law

NBC News Political Director Chuck Todd seemed astonished by how a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll confirmed solid agreement with Arizona’s immigration enforcement law – “a whopping 64 percent support the law,” Todd marveled, “and we read them the law verbatim exactly as it’s been written” and still, he repeated, “64 percent approve of it.” NBC also treated as surprising the majority backing for racial profiling to prevent terrorism.

Whopping? 🙂

BTW: that similar to “Unexpectedly” when things don’t go the way the Liberals wanted it to. Like, unemployment UNEXPECTEDLY rose last month…

As noted above, Todd pointed out that on Arizona “we read them the law verbatim exactly as it’s been written.” Here’s that question, #34:

The Arizona law makes it a state crime to be in the U.S. illegally. It requires local and state law enforcement officers to question people about their immigration status if they have reason to suspect a person is in the country illegally, making it a crime for them to lack registration documents. Do you support or oppose this law? (IF SUPPORT/OPPOSE, THEN ASK) And, do you strongly (support/oppose) or just somewhat (support/oppose) this law?

(46 percent “strongly support,” nearly double the 24 percent who “strongly oppose.”)

So even though they asked the question with an obvious bias they didn’t get the answer they wanted. 🙂
In fact, the statute requires a prerequisite lawful reason for stopping someone before the law enforcement officer can check their immigration status:
For any lawful stop, detention or arrest made by a law enforcement official or a law enforcement agency of this state or a law enforcement official or a law enforcement agency of a county, city, town or other political subdivision of this state in the enforcement of any other law or ordinance of a county, city or town or this state where reasonable suspicion exists that the person is an alien and  is unlawfully present in the United States, a reasonable attempt shall be made, when practicable, to determine the immigration status of the person, except if the determination may hinder or obstruct an investigation.

Something the Ministry of Truth just completely forgets about. Call it a blind (Partisan) spot.

CBS and ABC promoted the cause of activists in the minority. Both devoted full stories to the “uproar” and “emotional civil war” over the law and moves by a few liberal local government bodies to enact boycotts, only getting late in their stories to those who like the law.

The Thursday night stories were pegged to a boycott vote by the Democratic city council of Los Angeles, but CBS’s Bill Whitaker and ABC’s Barbara Pinto both also played a three-day old clip of California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger mocking Arizona and pointed to the cancellation of a trip to Arizona by a suburban Chicago high school’s girls basketball team – not to deride adults for using teens to grind a political axe, but to illustrate the supposed depth of opposition to Arizona’s law.

“The boycott of Arizona is spreading,” Katie Couric trumpeted before Whitaker touted: “The city of Los Angeles, the latest to react strongly to Arizona’s tough new anti-illegal immigration law.” He pushed how “a growing number of states and municipalities are boycotting or considering boycotting Arizona,” citing how “Highland Park High School in Chicago’s suburbs is pulling its champion girls’ basketball team from a tournament in Arizona because of the law.”

I saw an interview with the father of one of the girls and another one with 1 of the girls on the team, they don’t get it.

“What does the immigration law have to do with us going to play sports in Arizona?”

Using kids as political weapons is frankly disgusting, but that’s nothing knew to the “for the children” liberal crowd.

Cuing up Schwarzenegger, Whitaker insisted: “The state has become the butt of jokes.” Schwarzenegger, from Monday, on not traveling to Arizona: “But with my accent, I was worried they were going to deport me back to Austria.”(MRC)

One LA Councilman I saw on CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360 said he afraid to drive in Arizona now because they would just randomly stop him because of his looks and DEPORT him.

Deport Him? Where? L.A.? 🙂

Anderson Cooper ignored this  and continued.

From April 23 to May 3, the top three television networks offered viewers 50 stories and interview segments on their morning and evening news programs. The tone was strongly hostile to the law and promotional to the “growing storm” of left-wing protesters: 37 stories (or 74 percent) were negative, 10 were neutral, and only three were positive toward the Arizona law’s passage — 12 negative stories for every one that leaned positive. Stories were much kinder and sympathetic to illegal aliens than they were to police officers. Cops were potential abusers of power. Entering the country illegally was not an abuse of power. It was portrayed as an honorable step by the powerless.

The soundbite count was also slanted, with 92 quotes against the law and only 52 in favor. The pro-law numbers, however, included many soundbites of Arizona public officials defending themselves against liberal charges that they were racists or in favor of racial profiling.

Opponents of the law didn’t even have to speak English to be quoted sympathetically. In a May 3 CBS Evening News story, Katie Couric fretted “many” illegals “no longer feel welcome.” Reporter Kelly Cobiella focused on the story of non-English-speaking Manuela Quintana, who decided to move to Colorado. Cobiella cued up the mother of ten to deny she was a criminal: “‘No,’ she says, ‘a criminal is someone who kills. I just want to work.’” Over video of the kids piling into an SUV, Cobiella concluded: “The family packed up before dawn today and headed north to Colorado. Manuela says she’s lost hope in this state. She thinks she’ll find it again in another.” (NewsBusters)

I guess they could find any of the Coyotes or other Smugglers for a comment…

ABC Good Morning America host Bill Weir chided Sheriff Joe Arpaio, a well-known enforcer of immigration law, “With this new law, will you ramp it up?…Will you grab people on street corners?”

No media bias there, kids… 😦

While the harshest Tea Party activists were scorned by the networks for any suggestion President Obama was a “Nazi,” on 11 occasions these same networks unquestioningly forwarded smears that proponents of the Arizona law were like Nazis or Civil War-era slaveholders. NBC’s Andrea Mitchell used these slurs from liberal comedians to demonstrate how Arizona was becoming a “laughingstock.”

Violence was downplayed. Only one ABC story reported violence by the protesters (in a “mostly peaceful” protest), and only one CBS story mentioned vandalism (smearing refried-bean swastikas on the state capitol building). There were only two references to the murder of rancher Robert Krentz, and four to the shooting of a deputy in Pinal County, all four in larger celebrations of May Day marches.

Viewers would assume protesters were in the majority. ABC Saturday anchor David Muir touted May Day protests on World News. “Angry backlash from coast to coast. Huge rallies across this country tonight against that new controversial immigration law.”

The networks were very reluctant to note that the Arizona law was popular: only five stories mentioned that the protesters were on the losing side of public opinion, where almost 90 percent of those polled by CBS consider illegal immigration a serious problem. It’s a stunning contrast, then, that 74 percent of the stories channel the view of a tiny minority. (NB)

But they aren’t biased at all, just ask them… 😦

And here’s the Kicker!

Sanctimonious Attorney General Eric Holder who has been making the round of the Liberal Talk show and in Press Conference has been decrying Arizona for the Law, BUT he admitted on camera Yesterday(!!!) THAT HE HASN’T EVEN READ IT!!!!

http://newsbusters.org/blogs/noel-sheppard/2010/05/13/attorney-general-holder-admits-never-reading-arizonas-immigration-law

REPRESENTATIVE TED POE, (R-TEXAS): So Arizona, since the federal government totally fails to secure the border desperately then passed laws to protect its own people. The law is supported by 70 percent of the people in Arizona, 60 percent of all Americans, and 50 percent of all Hispanics according to the Wall Street Journal/NBC poll done just this week. And I understand that you may file a lawsuit against the law. Seems to me the Administration ought to be enforcing border security and immigration laws and not challenge them, and that the Administration is on the wrong side of the American people. Have you read the Arizona law?

ERIC HOLDER, ATTORNEY GENERAL: I have not had a chance to, I’ve glanced at it. I have not read it.

POE: It’s ten pages. It’s a lot shorter than the healthcare bill which was 2,000 pages long. I’ll give you my copy of it if you would like to have a copy. Even though you haven’t read the law, do you have an opinion as to whether it’s Constitutional?

HOLDER: I have not really, I have not been briefed yet.

CBS (apr 27th, 2010): Headline: Arizona’s New Law is Subject to Potential abuse, Attorney General Eric Holder Said Today

Attorney General Eric Holder and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano were critical Tuesday of Arizona’s new law on immigration and Holder said the federal government may challenge it.
Napolitano said the new state law could siphon federal money and staff from hunting down dangerous immigrants.

Dear Janet,

You’d have to hunt them down to begin with first! You fraud!

And is over 2 weeks before Mr. Holder attempted he hadn’t EVEN READ IT!!

No Media bias here… 😦

Holder’s response will even FURTHER amaze most Americans on both sides of the aisle:

HOLDER: Well, what I’ve said is that I’ve not made up my mind. I’ve only made, made the comments that I’ve made on the basis of things that I’ve been able to glean by reading newspaper accounts, obviously, looking at television, talking to people who are on the review panel, on the review team that are looking at the law. But I’ve not reached any conclusions as yet with regard to. I’ve just expressed concerns on the basis of what I’ve heard about the law. But I’m not in the position to say at this point, not having read the law, not having had the chance to interact with people doing the review, exactly what my position is.

Yep. The most powerful law enforcement official in our nation hasn’t bothered reading an important, sixteen-page bill that he and the Administration have been making negative comments about since it was passed weeks ago.

Instead, he’s relied on “newspaper accounts” and “looking at television” to establish his opinion.

You really can’t make this stuff up!

But The Ministry of Truth is hard at work do there very best to do just that and to do it convincingly.

1984 By George Orwell on the Ministry of Truth:

The Party seeks power entirely for its own sake. We are not interested in the good of others; we are interested solely in power.  Not wealth or luxury or long life or happiness: only power, pure power. What pure power means you will understand presently. We are different from all the oligarchies of the past, in that we know what we are doing. All the others, even those who resembled ourselves, were cowards and hypocrites.

There was truth and there was untruth, and if you clung to the truth even against the whole world, you were not mad.

Just a “racist”, “Nazi” “bigot”… 🙂

Lessons in Liberal Media

“Six times last week, Democrats asked to extend their unemployment benefits for a short time while they work on a longer extension,” Reid said. “Six times, Republicans said no. They didn’t just say no to us, that is members of the Senate. They said no to their families in their own states and all our states count on us to act when we need action. They count on us to respond in the event of an emergency. This is an emergency. The Republicans in the Senate are standing between these families and the help they need while these benefits expire and expired.”

This was about extending Unemployment and spending yet again. Rep Jim Bunning (R-KY) basically said, “we can’t pasy for it” and if the government wants PAYGO as they said in February then to paraphrase the late Clara Peller (of Wendy’s fame), “Where’s The Money?”

But did you hear that on the liberal media?

No.

You got children starving, people being fired, grandma eating dog food!

Dog and Cats, live together! Mass Hysteria!

And all this over a measley $10 Billion.

When the Health Care bill is going to cost $2-6 Trillion, it’s measley.

But, the liberal media had a raptor attack.

ABC even did an ambush attack on Sen. Bunning at the Senate Elevator.

And they were proud of themselves.

Mind you, when, say FOX, ambushes a Liberal they are OUTRAGED by the indecency of it all.

Another Lesson in Liberal Media: The Huffington post is even soliciting readers who miss an unemployment check to email them so they can hammer the Republicans for it!

Which just proved that cutting spending or reducing the deficit is the very last thing on the Liberal agenda, just above stuffing plastic explosives in their underwear and blowing up the Republicans. 🙂

Much like the sob-story after sob-story at the Health care Summit last week that the Democrats just kept doing.

The biggest lesson in Liberal Media: Play on emotion, not logic.

And as a CNN commercial in 1996 said, “All the News you Need to know” and nothing else!

“Just a brief explanation of why we are where we’re at with this extension bill, the brief extension of 30 days,” said Bunning, who is not running for reelection and apparently not acting with the blessing of GOP leadership. “There was an agreement between the majority leader of the Finance Committee and the minority leader in the Finance Committee, Sens. Baucus and Grassley, on a three-month extension of these very same provisions. There were more provisions in the bill also. It cost a little more than the the $10 billion that is asked for because it was a three-month extension. Senator Reid pulled that bill from the floor of the U.S. Senate. He did it. The leader of the Democrats pulled that bill from the floor. I support extending unemployment benefits, COBRA benefits, flood insurance, highway bill fix, doc fix, small business loans, distant network television for satellite viewers. If we can’t find $10 billion to pay for something that we all support, we will never pay for anything on the floor of this U.S. Senate.”

Not one TV news report I saw yesterday happened to mention the why. The “why” was not important.

The scoring of cheap political shots was.

Huffington post (crude language alert): Perhaps Sen. Bunning is just a bitter, deluded, old man, who used to be a great baseball pitcher. But he is also the public face of the Republican Senators. The party of no has now simply become the cruder party of tough shit and a raised middle finger.

Nothing about spending.

Nothing about deficits.

Nothing about paying for it.

Just more political bias masquerading as “News”.

“When 100 senators are for a bill and we can’t find $10 billion to pay for it, there’s something the matter, seriously the matter, with this body,” he said to an empty chamber Friday. “There are going to be other bills brought to this floor that are not going to be paid for, and I’m going to object every time they do it. . . . I have got too many young grandchildren that want America to be the same America that I grew up in. And I’m worried to death that that’s not going to be the case.”-Rep Bunning.

We, as average Americans, have to make hard choices everyday.

The media wants to avoid them.

The Congress wants to avoid them or cover them up.

Their hardest choice it seems is how to cram Health Care Reform down the throats of The American people who don’t want it.

Life’s a Bitch, for Democrats right now. 🙂

And then there’s this from the Wall Street Journal:

It’s not a pretty process, but a deal seems to be shaping up to stave of the start of a 21% cut in Medicare fees paid to doctors.

The cuts were due to kick in today because Congress failed to pass a temporary extension as a result of objections by Sen. Jim Bunning to a bill that also contained job measures and other health-care provisions. But the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, the federal agency that runs Medicare, has put a hold for 10 business days on physician Medicare claims, in effect giving Congress two more weeks to work things out before the payment cuts affect reimbursements to doctors.

To make legislation happen, Republicans now are pledging to get a temporary fix through. The House approved its version of the bill last week but Bunning, a Republican from Kentucky, balked at adding to the deficit. The Senate now may have to use a longer process to avoid Bunning’s objections. Here’s more from the Associated Press.

All this adds a bit more drama to what has been a routine stalling action by Congress since 2003. The Medicare cuts started off as deficit reduction measure, but after many delays, the bite on docs grew too large for Congress to actually allow them to go into effect. On the other hand, if Congress eliminates the planned reductions permanently, as urged by the AMA and other doctors’ groups, it would add billions in Medicare costs to the deficit.

The AMA warned the situation could become a “meltdown” in medical services for seniors.

So the Congress has been sticking their fingers in the dike for years.

And it’s getting harder and harder to cover it up.

But boy they’ll give it a go.

The Business & Media Institute analyzed 172 stories about the stimulus from Feb. 17, 2009, when the bill was signed, to Jan. 31, 2010. In those stories, the three evening news shows turned to proponents nearly three times as often as opponents of the plan (269 to just 111). Reporters called the Obama program or its many offshoots “good news,” or turned to others whose positive views on the stimulus went further, with one calling the program a “lifesaver.”

“It’s the government that`s going to have to pull us out of this recession,” Anthony Mason of CBS “Evening News” said on March 6. That was a consistent theme for the journalists involved. With the economy beaten down by the Great Recession, Americans needed Obama and the government to fix things and boost employment.

Anchor Katie Couric added to that theme when she introduced the story. “In a moment, we’ll be telling you about all the jobs the stimulus plan is creating, but first why those jobs are so desperately needed.”

The same news media that backed Barack Obama during the election then turned to his “bold” push for a stimulus plan. Two broadcast networks – ABC and NBC – showed particularly strong support for the president by relying on pro-stimulus voices by a more-than 2-to-1 ratio (139 to 56). As reporter Scott Cohn told the NBC “Nightly News” audience about a struggling Indiana community. “Economic stimulus isn’t just a political debate around here. It could be a matter of survival.”

That was what viewers of ABC’s “World News with Charles Gibson,” CBS “Evening News” and NBC “Nightly News” heard for almost a year. Those three favored pro-stimulus speakers 71 percent to 29 percent (269 to just 111).

NBC was the worst of the three networks. It relied on stimulus supporters in its stories by more than a factor of 3-to-1 (110 supporters to just 31 critics). At the same time, NBC only included any sort of criticism of the $787 billion plan in 43 percent of its stories. (WSJ)

But the Media will keep trying to put a rosy face on their own agenda, as long as they control it, that is.

When they don’t, the sleeping raptors will awaken to tear everything to shreds.

And that is the ultimate lesson of the Liberal Media.
