Then & Now: 2 Years Later

Today is the 2nd Anniversary of the blog. So let’s look at the last 2 years.

Political Cartoons by Ken Catalino

Unemployment: August 2009– 9.7

Current: 9.1 (August figures to be reported on Sept 2nd)

The Unemployment rate since this blog started has been over 9% except for two months (Feb & March 2011 where it hit a low at 8.8%!)

It has been over 8% since Feb 2009. So how’s that focus on Jobs going, Mr Obama?  Going to unveil yet another Class warfare/Tax and Spend plan that will fail but keep up with your rigid ideology? And when it fails, it will be someone’s fault, after all.

The president and his political allies have called for an unemployment benefit extension as a form of economic stimulus. Obama recently claimed that such an extension will “put money in people’s pockets and more customers in stores.” White House Press Secretary Jay Carney claimed that an extension of unemployment benefits could create up to a million jobs. (Heritage)

The average worker who is unemployed has been searching for a job for 40.4 weeks, or more than nine months, according to new Labor Department figures.

That is if they don’t just give up or are underemployed.

So in 2 Years has Obamanomics “stimulated” anything besides misery?

How could this happen when Washington has thrown trillions of dollars into the pot, including the famous $787 billion in stimulus spending that was supposed to yield $1.50 in growth for every dollar spent? For a start, too much of the money went to transfer payments such as Medicaid, jobless benefits and the like that do nothing for jobs and growth. (WSJ)

The Stimulus money went to states to help pad their pensions for government unions and their budget shortfalls. These were the “saved or created” jobs. They weren’t new. They were his apparatchiks.

And that’s all that really matters in the end. 🙂

Green Jobs, you say?

Sorry they went to China were it’s cheaper… 🙂

Update: Oh Look, MORE SPENDING!

President Barack Obama will make a push for more transportation spending on Wednesday. (“Infrastructure”=Spending!)

The White House says Obama will urge Congress to pass a federal highway bill that he says will protect about 1 million jobs. (Should I laugh now or later? Bet they last just long enough to be useful to his re-election campaign…)

At issue is the renewal of a transportation spending bill that expires Sept. 30. The House is considering a six-year, $230 billion bill paid entirely with current fuel taxes. The Senate proposal would last only two years and cost $109 billion.

2 years ago we were still in the fight. It’s what got me in the fight.

2 years later, we have 10% of all companies saying they will dump their health care plans when ObamaCare is fully implemented. We have 46% of Doctors threatening to retire. We have huge raises in costs.

We have over 1700 waivers to Obama’s friends and supporters in Unions and businesses he deems necessary to him politically.

If you like your health care you can keep it, the President said then. By now you know that was a lie.

And where are the 4 Million Jobs Nancy Pelosi said would be created by ObamaCare?

And how was it going to lower the deficit again?

Ezra Klein, he of recent “the Constitution’s old, and stuff” fame, is one of the great and most persuasive cheerleaders for the belief that Republicans cannot repeal Obamacare and remain fiscally responsible since — as everybody knows! — Obamacare reduces the national debt by $100 billion over the next ten years.

March 2010: In explicit contradiction to the establishment media’s reporting over the past two days, the CBO has in fact reported that the Obamacare bill will result in an increase in the deficit spending of the United States by at least $109 billion over the next 10 years. Instead of reporting this indisputable fact, the media has been pushing the Obama and Democrat line that Obamacare will “save” $138 billion over the next 10 years in deficit spending versus present projections as if it was the gospel truth.

And what about that gleeful approval and wonderment from the masses the Obama Nannies were expecting: 2 years ago the Disapproval was 52% now it’s 61% (with independents like me its 67%)

57% favor repeal.

But, as you should know by know, the Democrats don’t care. They didn’t care then and they don’t care now. They’ve been salivating about this since Woodrow Wilson and now that they have their golden baby they will fight to the very last drop of your blood to keep it.

They don’t care what you think. And isn’t that real problem with Obama and the Democrats? 🙂

There are also many things that Americans don’t want out of health care reform: the loss of their health care plans; reductions in medical innovation; a decline in the quality of care; massive increases in federal spending and debt; the government injecting itself into the doctor-patient relationship; eventual federal rationing. (Guy Benson)

And that’s if you can find a doctor to go to, after all, many, many doctors have said if ObamaCare is fully implemented they’ll just retire. Leaving a massive shortage of doctors with 30 million new patients.

And you like you’re health care and want to keep it–Good Luck, you’ll need it!

Sounds like a good plan, doesn’t it! 🙂

But that’s what Obamacare will bring and has already in many cases.

Hope and Change, everyone, Yes He Can! 🙂

The scandal itself hadn’t broken yet but two years later the broken movement is still trying to convince you. And, Like Al Gore, recently has decided to take the Democrats tactics on board. Now, if you don’t believe in “Climate Change” you’re a racist!

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of American Adults shows that 69% say it’s at least somewhat likely that some scientists have falsified research data in order to support their own theories and beliefs, including 40% who say this is Very Likely. Twenty-two percent (22%) don’t think it’s likely some scientists have falsified global warming data, including just six percent (6%) say it’s Not At All Likely. Another 10% are undecided.

The number of adults who say it’s likely scientists have falsified data is up 10 points from December 2009 .

Now that’s progress! 🙂

2011: Experiments performed by a European nuclear research group indicate that the sun, not man, determines Earth’s temperature.

Its magnetic field acts as a gateway for cosmic rays, which play a large role in cloud formation.

Consequently, when the sun’s magnetic field allows cosmic rays to seed cloud cover, temperatures are cooler. When it restricts cloud formation by deflecting cosmic rays away from Earth, temperatures go up.

Or, as the London Telegraph’s James Delingpole delicately put it:

“It’s the sun, stupid.”

This new finding of 63 scientists from 17 European and U.S. institutes from an experiment that’s been ongoing since 2009 is, if we may paraphrase Vice President Joe Biden, a big deal. Which is exactly why the mainstream media, with so much invested in global warming hysteria, is letting last week’s announcement from CERN pass like a brief summer shower, ignoring it. (IBD)

Of course the mainstream media is going to ignore it, it doesn’t fit the propaganda and that’s all we have left with the mainstream media.

The truth doesn’t matter to Liberals. Control matters.

The silent killer. Been to the grocery store lately?

Looked at your insurance bill? power bill? cable bill?

And just think, Obama and The Fed want to devalue your dollar even more! It fits with their ideology.

Here’s a Fascinating Website from the Bureau of Labor Statistics:

If you plug in say, $100 in today cost $94.96 in 2009 (in 2001 it would be 78.39 by the way).

So 5% inflation in your real costs in 2 years.

But don’t worry, Obama will solve it!

He’s the man with the plan. At least the latest Keynesian Tax and Spend plan that will have to be disguised as something else to hide it in plain sight and have the media push it 24/7/365 as the new shade of lipstick for this rotting pig of economics.

Watch for new Orwellian euphemisms.

2009: The President said then that comprehensive immigration legislation, including a plan to make legal status possible for an estimated 12 million illegal immigrants, would be a priority in his first year in office. Latino voters turned out strongly for Mr. Obama in the election.

“He intends to start the debate this year,” Ms. Muñoz (deputy assistant) said.

2 years later, unable to convince anyone and not really trying all that hard, he grants  de-facto amnesty to millions by executive fiat and a Justice Department that refuses to do anything about Illegals in reality.

But the president has had two cousins arrested in this country as illegals though, so it’s not like he’s immune to the problem. 🙂

He’s too busy pandering for votes to care.

So you have a President when he doesn’t get his way tries to figure out how he can use his own power to get it done regardless of the people or the legislative process.

Dictator anyone?

P.s. The Obama administration is considering unveiling new plans next week to revive the ailing housing market and reduce foreclosures, including an effort to help troubled borrowers refinance their mortgages.

The refinancing initiative would allow certain borrowers to refinance loans that are backed by government-owned Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac or the Federal Housing Administration, the sources said.

You know, the guys who keep borrowing billions of dollars because they are so bankrupt already and are in large part part of the problem not part of the solution.

The White House has kept the specifics of the refinancing plan closely guarded as it attempts to work out the details.

Be Afraid. Be Very Afraid!

Oh, and it’s going to cost taxpayers even more money.

I guess this leopard will never change his spots, but he will come up with ways to spin it so all YOU see IS spots! 🙂

The Wrong Green

Michael Ramirez Cartoon

Economic growth in the United States is expected to remain weak for several years and unemployment will likely stay above 8 percent for another three years, the head of the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office said Wednesday. (CBS)

President Obama plans a big jobs announcement—right after he finishes his vacation inMartha’s Vineyard.  Expect him to say that green jobs are the key to recovery — that they will generate millions of jobs and a new era of prosperity.

Oh, you’ve already heard that one?  So has everyone else.  Even The New York Times has begun to debunk Obama’s claim, headlining, “Number of Green Jobs Fails to Live Up to Promises.” Obama’s claim is getting quite old and quite expensive, but remains just as false as ever.

If Congress’ “super committee” wants to cut wasteful spending, the green jobs agenda is a great place to start.

Obama’s 2011 Labor Day announcement is likely to echo his similar jobs announcement just after Labor Day in 2010, asking for another $50 billion in spending.

His stimulus plans always include green jobs and lots of greenbacks for them. As the White House website quotes Obama, “the transition to clean energy has the potential to grow our economy and create millions of jobs — but only if we accelerate that transition.”

Green jobs are about government subsidies, cronyism, and job cannibalism. They aren’t self-sustaining because they rely on giveaways of taxpayer money and they cannibalize existing jobs.

ABC News found that 80% of the $2 billion set aside in the “stimulus” package for “green jobs” is going overseas — mostly to China.
Most of the stimulus went to government unions anyhow.
Too many green jobs and renewable energy companies can’t make it without taxpayer subsidies. Some can’t make it even with that help, such as Evergreen Solar in Massachusetts, which went bankrupt even with $40 million of help. (It was offered even more.) Evergreen Solar emerged in the last three years as the third-largest maker of solar panels in the United States.
The waste should be obvious even to die-hard liberals like Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA), who last week told MSNBC, “Green jobs have been about a lot of talk and not a lot has been happening on that.” (DC)
Federal and state efforts to stimulate creation of green jobs have largely failed, government records show. Two years after it was awarded $186 million in federal stimulus money to weatherize drafty homes, California has spent only a little over half that sum and has so far created the equivalent of just 538 full-time jobs in the last quarter, according to the State Department of Community Services and Development.
Wow! 😦
The Economic Development Department in California reports that $59 million in state, federal and private money dedicated to green jobs training and apprenticeship has led to only 719 job placements — the equivalent of an $82,000 subsidy for each one.
And only 35 of them are employed in a “green job”! WOW! Now that’s working!
The political left is always complaining about them — those undeserved subsidies for the hated oil companies. But when it comes to government subsidies, the renewable energy companies are king.‘Seniors are struggling. Oil companies are not struggling,” Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada said in May. “Yet Republicans want to keep handing billions of dollars to the oil companies and ending Medicare as we know it.”About that same time, Sen. Claire McCaskill, the Missouri Democrat, whined about taxpayers subsidizing “the five biggest, most profitable corporations in the history of the planet.”Earlier this year, President Obama, speaking words his base wants to hear, swore that Washington would no longer “continue costly tax cuts for oil companies.”

What’s missing from the Democrats’ tireless refrain is the fact that the “subsidies” the oil industry enjoys are the same legitimate, passed-by-Congress tax deductions available to all companies — even those companies the Democratic lawmakers own stock in.

Simply put, Big Oil, which pays more than $86 million in taxes each day and sends 41% of its net income to Washington, is not supported by the U.S. taxpayer.

Renewable energy companies, however, are.

The Energy Information Administration says that $14.7 billion in taxpayers’ money was handed directly to renewable energy companies last year.

Politically connected ethanol raked in $6.6 billion, bird-killing wind power $5 billion, unreliable solar $1.13 billion and energy-deficient biomass $1.1 billion.

Combined, those subsidized sources provide roughly 11% of all U.S. energy output. Not much, in other words.

Total subsidies for renewables in 2010, the first budget the Democrats had full control over since taking Congress in 2006 and the White House in 2008, were $9 billion — or 186% — higher than the 2009 subsidies.

A portion of this largess was of course provided at the expense of the oil and gas industries, which paid $1 trillion in income taxes between 1998 and 2008.

Should Washington continue its fixation on propping up renewable energy companies with other people’s money, the U.S. will suffer the same bitter experiences that other countries, particularly Spain, lived through when they tried to establish a green economy.

There’s no reason to rush these sources when conventional fuels remain cheap and abundant. (IBD)

So it’s a scam. It’s liberals trying to make the market create the jobs THEY want and if it won’t SCREW everyone!

If it’s doesn’t “feel” good don’t do it! And we don’t want you to!

The Left’s subsidies are “good”, the the right’s are “bad” (even if the left actually benefits from those very same one it’s all politics after all).

And the ultimate, from Environmentalist Whacko King, Al Gore, you’re a racist if you don’t believe in his scam.

He just happens to have started and is invested heavily in the “carbon credits” scam and his dad’s Oil and Coal $$ doesn’t mean anything…

So it is about “green” jobs. But it’s the wrong Green $$$.

It’s just more of the Left’s need to control everyone and force people to do what THEY want not what actually can or will work.

So when Obama comes out soon with his 16th plan for new jobs (and his Job Competitiveness Czar Jeffrey Imelt send more jobs at GE to China) it will be a mask for more Tax (like a VAT and Class Warfare) and Spend (“Infrastructure” “Tax Reform”) and more political correct subsidies for politically correct jobs that isn’t designed to succeed except politically and “feels” good.

So why do you want 4 more years of this, exactly?

Keep on Truckin’

À few Weeks before the Obama Administration starts letting Mexican cargo trucks travel deep into the U.S., the Texas Department of Public Safety reveals that, in the last few years, trucks coming from Mexico had more than 1 million safety violations.

State Rep. Joe Pickett, D-El Paso, told the El Paso Times that the number of violations for the trucks from Mexico is in line with U.S. industry standards. He also assured that the trucks undergo inspections in Mexico and the United States.

“They are either no worse than U.S. trucks or better in some cases,” he said.

No big deal. Nothing to see here! Typical liberal tactic to diminish things that make them look bad.

This is hardly earth-shattering news since Mexican trucks have long failed to meet U.S. safety standards. That’s why they aren’t allowed to travel freely throughout the country, but rather in restricted zones within 25 miles of the southern border. Even within their limited boundary, they have created a huge risk to Americans’ safety, according to the Transportation Department Inspector General.

Regardless, the Obama Administration carved out a deal to allow Mexican trucks to travel freely on U.S. highways as part of a 17-year-old international trade pact known as the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). In a few weeks Mexican trucks will be allowed to travel into the interior of the United States, even though it could endanger American lives.

Earlier this year the Obama Administration paid to upgrade outdated Mexican trucks  that hemorrhage illegal amounts of exhaust when they deliver merchandise near the border. Generous Uncle Sam stepped in for the sake of improving air quality on both sides of the border by replacing old mufflers on dozens of Mexican trucks at a cost of $1,600 each.

So we can pay to have unsafe and environmentally inferior trucks on our roads (talk about a carbon footprint! where are the environmentalist on this one? Silent…) and we can do as little as possible to have armed drug lords coming across our borders like they don’t exist and Illegal Aliens are just “migrants” they won’t prosecute even if they catch them but if you object you’re a “racist”. 🙂

And if you object to anything about Obama and the Democrats you’re an “extremist”. 🙂

And this won’t put more people at risk on the road and won’t cause a rise in insurance because of the risk. 🙂

“This president has blamed George W. Bush, the Japanese tsunami, the euro, Greece, the Arab Spring, the Republicans, the tea party and ultimately James Madison for giving us separation of powers for all his problems,” Will said on ABC’s “This Week.” ”And that does not project leadership.” (George Will)

A new Rassmussen Reports poll finds that 65% of likely voters trust their judgment on the economy over President Barack Obama’s.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) – California lawmakers are considering a bill that would ban Styrofoam containers used for takeout meals.

The bill would prohibit restaurants, grocery stores and other vendors from dispensing food in expanded polystyrene containers, commonly known as Styrofoam, beginning in 2016. If signed into law, the measure would make California the first to institute a statewide ban on the containers.

Some restaurant owners are complain that could them thousands of dollars at a time when profit margins are already thin.

BJ’s Kountry Kitchen, in the heart of California’s farm country, uses about 26,000 of the 9-inch foam clamshells a year, mostly for takeout by the customers who come in for the restaurant’s popular breakfast omelets. Owner Gary Honeycutt says switching to biodegradable cartons would more than double his costs.

But it won’t cost any jobs! It will “feel” good though…

Norman Borlaug, father of the Green Revolution, put it best about the elitism of the environmental movement: “Our elites live in big cities and are far removed from the fields. Whether it’s … the head of the Sierra Club or the head of Greenpeace, they’ve never been hungry.”

Al Gore: “I remember, again going back to my early years in the South, when the Civil Rights revolution was unfolding, there were two things that really made an impression on me,” Gore said. “My generation watched Bull Connor turning the hose on civil rights demonstrators and we went, ‘Whoa! How gross and evil is that?’ My generation asked old people, ‘Explain to me again why it is okay to discriminate against people because their skin color is different?’ And when they couldn’t really answer that question with integrity, the change really started.”

Should we mention his Father was a segregationist and voted against the Civil Rights Act and Bull Connor was A DEMOCRAT? Or that Southern DEMOCRATS were the people most opposed to the Civil Rights Acts!??

You could add his father worked for Oil and Coal companies after he left Congress (some of his “rich”ness (he’s a multi-millionaire) comes from it–that and his “carbon trading” scam)

Or is that an “Inconvenient Truth” Al?  🙂

The former vice president recalled how society succeeded in marginalizing racists and said climate change skeptics must be defeated in the same manner.

So Global Warming Skeptics are “racists”. 🙂

Isn’t everyone and everything that opposes the far left? 🙂

“Secondly, back to this phrase ‘win the conversation,’” he continued. “There came a time when friends or people you work with or people you were in clubs with — you’re much younger than me so you didn’t have to go through this personally — but there came a time when racist comments would come up in the course of the conversation and in years past they were just natural. Then there came a time when people would say, ‘Hey, man why do you talk that way, I mean that is wrong. I don’t go for that so don’t talk that way around me. I just don’t believe that.’ That happened in millions of conversations and slowly the conversation was won.”

“We have to win the conversation on climate,” Gore added.

When Bogusky questioned the analogy, asking if the scientific reasoning behind climate change skeptics might throw a wrench into the good and evil comparison with racism, Gore did not back down.

“I think it’s the same where the moral component is concerned and where the facts are concerned I think it is important to get that out there, absolutely,” Gore said.

“This is an organized effort to attack the reputation of the scientific community as a whole, to attack their integrity, and to slander them with the lie that they are making up the science in order to make money,” Gore said.

Forgot ClimateGate already did we? Of course they have…and you are supposed to also.
When a farmer complained to Barack Obama two weeks ago at a townhall meeting about rumors of regulations that would force him and his colleagues to get a commercial driver’s license to operate his farm equipment, the President assured him that it was probably nothing. “Folks in Washington” like to get “ginned up” and shout “Look what’s coming down the pipe,” Obama explained, and offered this advice to the farmer: “Contact USDA.” “Talk to them directly. Find out what it is that you’re concerned about,” Obama told the man. “My suspicion is, a lot of times, they’re going to be able to answer your questions and it will turn out that some of your fears are unfounded.”

Call Uncle Sam. Sensible advice, but perhaps the president has forgotten just how difficult it can be for ordinary citizens to get answers from the government.

When this POLITICO reporter decided to take the president’s advice and call the USDA for an answer to the Atkinson town hall attendee’s question, I found myself in a bureaucratic equivalent of hot potato — getting bounced from the feds to Illinois state agriculture officials to the state farm bureau.

The advice took Politico’s MJ Lee on a two-day odyssey — and still ended up with no answer.  Instead of demonstrating how silly regulatory rumors are, the exercise proved that no one really knows what regulations we have, what has been proposed, and who’s responsible for them.  It turned into a great example of just how overregulated we are and how inefficient the government is at applying regulation.

Obama fancies himself a man of the people. Having heard the farmer’s complaint, why on earth couldn’t this alleged man of the people say to one of his staffers, “Okay, I want you to look into this, find the answer, tell me, and then I will call the farmer PERSONALLY and tell him what the policy is.” A politician can gain an awful lot of good will for things like that. (Hot Air)

But he’s never think of it. Government is great. Government is the solution to all things in life. 🙂

IDB-Economy: If you needed another metric by which to measure the failure of Obamanomics, new numbers released Friday show that two years after the recession ended the economy still hasn’t fully recovered.

I would argue the recession never ended to begin with. But that’s just me. 🙂

According to the revised gross domestic product data released Friday, the nation’s economy grew a paltry 1% in the second quarter, after eking out a barely noticeable 0.4% gain in the first.

As a result, two years after the recession ended, the economy still hasn’t made up the ground it lost, giving Obama the dubious distinction of presiding over the most prolonged economic recovery since the Great Depression.

This isn’t just slightly bad. It’s monumentally bad.

An IBD review of all the post-World War II recessions shows that, on average, it took just over two fiscal quarters for the economy to recover from a downturn and start expanding again.

In contrast, we’re eight quarters into the Obama recovery, and the expansion is somewhere off in the distance, with real GDP still $65.5 billion below the pre-recession peak. And if you take into account all the population growth that’s occurred over the past two years, we’re even further behind.

Obama likes to blame the depth of the downturn for the “painfully slow” recovery. “We didn’t get into this mess overnight, and we won’t get out of it overnight. It’s going to take time,” he said — nearly a year ago.

The claim is bogus. This recession lasted only slightly longer than the 1981-82 contraction — 18 months vs. 16 — and wasn’t as severe when measured by peak unemployment.

But the economy came screaming out of that downturn, and in three quarters was already well into an expansion. The 1973-75 recession lasted 16 months, but also took only three quarters to fully recover.

Obama’s also fond of blaming the sluggish recovery on the fact the recession resulted from a “financial crisis,” alleging that something about that kind of recession makes for a longer recovery time. But it’s not like all the other slumps didn’t have any hint of financial crisis behind them.

Now he and his friends have taken to blaming bad luck and Republican bad faith for supposedly weakening what had been an improving economy.

“In 2010 … we were growing,” Obama’s former chief economic adviser Austan Goolsbee said Thursday. “Now, at the beginning of this year, we get earthquakes, tsunamis, revolutions in the Middle East, European financial crises. Now we got earthquakes outside of Washington, D.C.” (and undoubtedly Irene is coming)

But Obama’s recovery was vastly inferior to previous ones well before these alleged headwinds emerged. Plus, revised GDP numbers show that the recovery was softening throughout 2010, with GDP growth slowing in each successive quarter.

For that, Obama has only his own economic medicine to blame. His preferred treatment — huge hikes in federal spending, massive new environmental and financial regulations, ObamaCare, an out-of-control labor relations board, verbal attacks on businesses and the rich, etc. — just isn’t working to get the economy back on its feet.

If a patient were taking an unusually long time to recover from an illness, a responsible doctor would try a new treatment regimen, rather than simply administer larger doses of the same drugs. He might even consult other doctors to see if they’ve had better luck with different prescriptions.

But Dr. Obama gives no sign of doing anything other than pump more Keynesian medicine into the IV. It’s possible he’ll try a different approach in September, when he gives his much-anticipated jobs speech. If he doesn’t, it will be nothing short of malpractice.

ObamaCare Economics. 4 More years! 4 More years! 4 More years! 🙂

Proof in the Pudding

Mort Zuckerman: Les Gelb wrote of Obama, “He is so self-confident that he believes he can make decisions on the most complicated of issues after only hours of discussion.” Strategic decisions go well beyond being smart, which Obama certainly is. They must be based on experience that discerns what works, what doesn’t—and why. This requires experienced staffing, which Obama and his top appointees simply do not seem to have. Or as one Middle East commentator put it, “There are always two chess games going on. One is on the top of the table, the other is below the table. The latter is the one that counts, but the Americans don’t know how to play that game.”

Or at least Obama doesn’t.

The end result is that a critical mass of influential people in world affairs who once held high hopes for the president have begun to wonder whether they misjudged the man. They are no longer dazzled by his rock star personality and there is a sense that there is something amateurish and even incompetent about how Obama is managing U.S. power. For example, Obama has asserted that America is not at war with the Muslim world. The problem is that parts of the Muslim world are at war with America and the West. Obama feels, fairly enough, that America must be contrite in its dealings with the Muslim world. But he has failed to address the religious intolerance, failing economies, tribalism, and gender apartheid that together contribute to jihadist extremism. This was startling and clear when he chose not to publicly support the Iranians who went to the streets in opposition to their oppressive government, based on a judgment that our support might be counterproductive. Yet, he reaches out instead to the likes of Bashar Assad of Syria, Iran’s agent in the Arab world, sending our ambassador back to Syria even as it continues to rearm Hezbollah in Lebanon and expands its role in the Iran-Hezbollah-Hamas alliance.

Clue: Hamas Charter has the phrase “Kill all the Jews” in it!

His lead from behind style doesn’t work. Waiting to see how it’s going before doing anything is politically safe, but also very politically damaging. And it’s not leadership.

The underlying issue is that the Arab world has different estimates on how to deal with an aggressive, expansionist Iran. The Arabs believe you do not deal with Iran with the open hand of a handshake but with the clenched fist of power. Arab leaders fear an Iran proceeding full steam with its nuclear weapons program on top of its programs to develop intermediate-range ballistic missiles. All the while centrifuges keep spinning in Iran, and Arab leaders ask whether Iran will be emboldened by what they interpret as American weakness and faltering willpower. They did not see Obama or his administration as understanding the region, where naiveté is interpreted as a weakness of character, as amateurism, and as proof of the absence of the tough stuff of which leaders are made. (That’s why many Arab leaders were appalled at the decision to have a civilian trial of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed in New York. After 9/11, many of them had engaged in secret counterterrorism activities under the umbrella of an American promise that these activities would never be made public; now they feared that this would be the exact consequence of an open trial.)

America right now appears to be unreliable to traditional friends, compliant to rivals, and weak to enemies. One renowned Asian leader stated recently at a private dinner in the United States, “We in Asia are convinced that Obama is not strong enough to confront his opponents, but we fear that he is not strong enough to support his friends.”

He’s not. And with his re-election as the only thing on his mind he could care less. He’s too busy sucking up to the Hispanics, both legal and illegal and trying to not have his own base frack him.

The United States for 60 years has met its responsibilities as the leader and the defender of the democracies of the free world. We have policed the sea lanes, protected the air and space domains, countered terrorism, responded to genocide, and been the bulwark against rogue states engaging in aggression. The world now senses, in the context of the erosion of America’s economic power and the pressures of our budget deficits, that we will compress our commitments. But the world needs the vision, idealism, and strong leadership that America brings to international affairs. This can be done and must be done. But we are the only ones who can do it. (US News and World Report)

Did I happen to mention this article was written by a Democrat?

Obama is bored by international affairs. He’s to busy trying to turn America in the Liberal Utopian Vision that he and his kin have had since the days of Woodrow Wilson.

He doesn’t understand and he doesn’t really care.

And his “leadership” style is to let everyone else run amok and do it for him so he can take credit for it working or blame someone else when it doesn’t.

And give flowery, fiery speech that mean nothing in the end because he’ll reverse even his own speech in a heartbeat if he thinks there’s political advantage.

In short, he’s not up to the job and never was. And people like me who said so, are the “extremists”, the “terrorists” and “nutjobs”.

Speaking of nutjobs, especially ones, that Obama once said he’d meet with unconditionally because he’s such a guy:

“Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that Iran was determined to eradicate Israel, ISNA news agency reported Thursday.

“‘Iran believes that whoever is for humanity should also be for eradicating the Zionist regime (Israel) as symbol of suppression and discrimination,’ Ahmadinejad said in an interview with a Lebanese television network, carried by ISNA.”

Eradicate. Wow.

Try and spin that one! (by the way, this is not new…)

So let’s sit down and talk over beer and pizza with him about this. If we are nice and respectful and we say “please” maybe he won’t turn the Middle East into a nuclear slag pile.

Oh Mr. President…. 🙂

The Fault Lines

But when he does it in less than 3 years it’s not only ok, it’s:

Political Cartoons by Gary Varvel

Now don’t you feel better! 🙂

But you know he was just saying all that to get elected. Whether he believed it or not, didn’t matter. He wanted you to believe it.

And now for 2012 he wants you to believe it again. Forget everything about the last 3 years, except who’s fault it is–anyone’s but his.

Obama is only three years into his term, and has already surpassed $4T in terms of increasing the debt.  Is it still “irresponsible” and “unpatriotic”, Mr. President, or only when a Republican does it?

Apparently Rep. Frederica Wilson (D-FL) didn’t go far enough when she blamed racism for the high unemployment rate among African-Americans. Today she made sure everyone got the real message: The Tea Party is the enemy.

They can go to Hell, according to Rep. Maxine Waters and While the media plays up the Los Angeles congresswoman’s “the Tea Party can go straight to hell’ comments from this weekend, they are ignoring what she said right after that. When the wild cheers of the audience calmed down, Rep. Waters then said: “And I intend to help them get there.”

But don’t worry, it’s the Tea Party/Republicans fault for not compromising and being “extreme”.

‘Intransigence’ and ‘Bigotry’ according to CNN’s Piers Morgan.

Some voters might be insulted by the suggestion that a little creative relabeling will fool them into embracing policies they would otherwise reject.

But that won’t stop the Orwellian Liberals. They don’t know any other way.

To disagree with them you must be absolutely stone cold STUPID. You have to be the biggest moron who ever walked the earth to believe they are wrong about anything.

So that’s when the hatred bubbles over and you get such wonderously non-judgemental, compassionate, and total willing to compromise for the greater good liberal comments as outlined. 🙂

Now that another massive new dose of deficit spending is no longer possible, the rigid Keynesian mind can only conceive of one alternative: a smaller dose of deficit spending. But to the Keynesian mind, a small dose of deficit spending will have a tiny impact compared to a massive dose of deficit spending. Obama can’t possibly have his heart in the “mini-stimulus” he’s likely to propose; he probably believes it’s doomed to failure because it’s too small. (DC)

And if you oppose it, you’re a “terrorist”, a “bigot”, “going to hell”, and “uncompromising”.

Now you can work with that can’t you? :0

The unemployment rate has been at or over 9 percent for 25 of the last 30 months. Why are we still waiting for Obama’s jobs plan?

It has been over 8% since February 2009.

But that’s not his fault. It’s not the Democrats fault.

It’s Bush…The Tea party…The Japan Tsunami…The Arabs…Iraq…Afghanistan…The ATM…automation…Corporations…The “rich”…The pizza delivery guy…. Anyone but them.

What difference does it make what stories the country’s attention was drawn to? How would that excuse Obama’s failure to even have a plan to address what he has repeatedly acknowledged to be America’s number one problem?

It doesn’t. But Liberals love distractions and diversions away from the truth that they have failed so miserably that it should be totally obvious to even a moron.
But it apparently isn’t, is it 🙂
But you can expect one thing for sure for The Democrats come September- more poll-tested euphemisms for raising tax rates so they can spend even more.
Because it’s all they know. Everything else is outside of their universe. It’s foreign. It’s evil. It’s bad. It’s “Extreme”.
And we can’t have extremism in the defense of liberty now can we. 🙂
Mainstream Liberal/Ministry of Truth Media Update
CBS’s Norah O’Donnell, filling in on Face the Nation, just couldn’t comprehend how a candidate espousing true conservative views could possibly capture the White House. Referring to Rick Perry, she demanded: “Can the Republican Party elect someone President who doesn’t believe in global warming?”
Well, that’s would be just Stupid now wouldn’t it! Of Course Global Warming is absolutely and unequivocally true. You’d have to be a moron not to think so.
On The Stimulus: “Well, many economists say had they not done the stimulus, it would have been much worse.”
Oh, really, are they all Keynesian Economists by any chance?
CNN’s Jack Cafferty slammed the “intellectual lightweights” leading the Republican presidential field on Wednesday, wondering why their supporters “seem to be allergic to brains.” (MRC)
But don’t worry, it’s you, not them, that are uncompromising, extreme, and just plain stupid… 🙂
A report from the Employment Policies Institute finds that only one in five members of Congress has an academic background in business or economics.

Tragedy Avoidable

An illegal immigrant has been charged with vehicular homicide after hitting a 23-year-old man and driving away….drunk.

An illegal immigrant who allegedly killed a 23-year-old Massachusetts man in a hit-and-run accident Saturday is being held on $100,000 cash bail, the Milford Daily News reports.

Nicolas D. Guaman, 34, of Milford, Mass., was arrested Saturday after his vehicle struck Matthew J. Denice, who was on a motorcycle, according to police. Guaman’s pickup truck had allegedly dragged Denice’s body a quarter-mile, the newspaper reports.

Judge Robert Calagione entered a not guilty plea on behalf of Guaman in Milford District Court on Tuesday.

Michael Maloney, Denice’s stepfather, is reportedly calling the accident a “murder.” He described Denice, who had just graduated from Framingham State University with a computer degree, as a “great all-American kid,” according to the newspaper.

Police in Milford confirmed that Guaman was in the country illegally, and Denice’s family has called for him to receive a lengthy sentence in the U.S., rather than simply being deported.

Guaman is accused of negligent vehicular homicide while driving under the influence of liquor, leaving the scene of an accident involving personal injury and death, possession of an open container of alcohol in a vehicle and unlicensed driving, among other charges.

If found guilty of vehicular homicide, he could get up to 15 years in jail.

So, not only was a 23-year-old Michael Maloney’s life cut way too short by an illegal driving drunk and without a license, but taxpayers are now footing the bill for Guaman to be represented in a court of law and to keep him in a U.S. jail despite the fact Guaman isn’t a U.S. citizen and previously broke the law by coming into the U.S. illegally in the first place. This is just one of many tragic and irresponsible crime stories that happen everyday in the U.S. involving illegal immigrants.

Nicolas D. Guaman, 34, of 10 Cherry St., Apt. 1, Milford, who authorities say was driving drunk when he struck Matthew J. Denice, who was riding a motorcycle. Denice, 23, was dragged a quarter-mile and died as a result of the crash.

He was arrested several years ago for beating up a cop. He wasn’t even prosecuted and no report to Immigration authorities was ever made.

And the other tragic part? The Obama Administration’s new amnesty policies may allow this guy to avoid deportation. (He’s not “violent” enough in Massachusetts)

MILFORD —With the death of a Milford man allegedly at the hands of an illegal immigrant who was drunk behind the wheel, lawmakers and law enforcement officials are urging the state to join a federal program that shares fingerprints and other information.
It’s like this, Massachusetts has NO database of any Illegal Aliens in the state. None. Zip. Zero. Nada! And the Governor and the bureaucrats don’t want one either!
They aren’t illegal. They’re just potential Democrats!

In June, Gov. Deval Patrick did not sign a memorandum that would have launched the program <Secure Communities> in the state, citing worries it would deport people who were not convicted of serious crimes, could lead to racial profiling and may keep immigrants from reporting crimes, according to a letter from Secretary of Public Safety Marybeth Heffernan to ICE.

Yesterday, Patrick press secretary Alex Goldstein said in a statement that “the governor’s policy is that serious criminals who are here illegally should be deported. Massachusetts has and will continue to send fingerprints to the federal government, and the Massachusetts Department of Correction will continue to work with Immigration and Customs Enforcement to facilitate removal of undocumented immigrants who have been convicted of felonies.”

The parents, family and friend of the victim appreciate that, Governor! 😦

Frank Slouts, a spokesman for the Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition, agreed with Patrick’s rationale. Domestic violence victims may be discouraged from reporting crimes under Secure Communities because police often hear counter-arguments and arrest both the offender and the alleged victim, he said. “I think there’s universal condemnation that this is a heinous act, but the fact that he’s undocumented isn’t the main issue,” Slouts said. “It’s that he was already part of the criminal justice system and wasn’t (convicted).”

Nice Open Borders title dickhead!

Gian Bontempo said he has lived in town for more than 40 years and is not against immigration, because it is what Milford was built on.

“It doesn’t matter what nationality (Guaman) was if he was drunk,” Bontempo said.

Yeah, but if he’d been deported after he beat up a cop and we had a secure border there would be one less dead person in the world. One less tragedy.
But that would deprive the Democrats of their new voter base and we can’t have that!

You do not get to blame anyone else for your own constituents’ woes when you are the incumbent. You are in control; you get to make the rules so that you may revel in the triumphs, but you must also absorb the failures. All of them. No excuses. The blame game is for losers.

But the blame should go where it belongs. Own it. Fix it. Not a very easy thing these days where everyone wants to not be responsible for anything bad and take credit for anything “good”.

It’s someone else’s fault.

PRINCETON, NJ — Americans’ satisfaction with the way things are going in the United States has fallen back to 11%, the lowest level since December 2008 and just four percentage points above the all-time low recorded in October 2008.

1979-2011 Trend: In general, are you satisfied or dissatisfied with the way things are going in the United States at this time?

But don’t worry, it’s all the Republicans Fault. The Liberals Fault. The Tea Party’s Fault. George Bush’s Fault. Big Oil. Corporations. “Rich” people. Anyone but who’s fault it really is.

And you elected them. Because of Ideology or laziness or “I always vote…”

And, of course, the Government is supposed to do everything for you and pay for everything for free… 🙂

But then you hand over all your power to people who are the ultimate in Narcissists and Control Freaks.

Was that a good idea?

I can’t help but wonder, though, if the real cause of our agita is the decline of American standards, the growing knowledge that we are becoming a nation of underachievers, coddled by our growing nanny state, forgiven for our crimes and taxed for our achievements. Why have we let the meritocracy and free spirit that used to define us become so watered down?

I think our decline began around the time children’s softball games started going un-scored — when we stopped declaring winners, we all became de facto losers. Lowered expectations mirrored lower institutional standards. We froze when we found out that our kids were scoring much worse on math tests than kids in Asian countries, understanding the implication but unable to correct for the disparity. When President Bush established “No Child Left Behind,” union teachers, unable to adequately teach, started helping their students cheat on basic skills tests so that their students would do well and they would keep getting promoted. (and Obama’s Education Department has floated granting waivers for the requirements because they are “too tough”)

It has gotten so bad that there is a movement afoot to promote academic mediocrity by abolishing standardized tests altogether. Some colleges already have “SAT optional” admissions policies. That way, if you can’t compete, you can just blame the test and get away with not even trying.

Really, fellow Americans? We’re going to put limits on how much homework teachers can assign and jettison merit-based testing, but we have the audacity to complain about outsourcing and blame our problems on natural disasters and the global economy? (DC)

Oh, and if you ask then to pay 12% of their benefits (that everyone else has to pay for totally) they’ll riot, take over the capital and want to throw you out of office with the most vile, hateful rhetoric imaginable.

Because they are ENTITLED.

Illegal Aliens Are ENTITLED.

Unions are ENTITLED.

It’s only “fair” that the “poor” are ENTITLED to sponge off everyone else.

We can’t cut Spending because someone is ENTITLED to that money that we are borrowing (40 cents on every dollar) and wracking up 3 million dollars of debt a day.

The Government is ENTITLED to run your life for you, because you’re a screw up and can’t do it correctly yourself. You can’t be trusted.  So they have to do it for you.

I wonder who was in charge of that education…Hmmm..The Government and the Unions perhaps? 🙂

But no need to worry, Mama Government will save you.

For a Price.

Your Freedom.

Before I get to the explanation, choke on this fact:

Updated numbers for the national debt are just out: It’s now $14,639,000,000,000.

When Barack Obama took the oath of office twice on Jan. 20, 2009, CBS’ amazing number cruncher Mark Knoller reports, the national debt was $10,626,000,000,000.

That means the debt that our federal government owes a whole lot of somebodies including China has increased $4,247,000,000,000 in just 945 days. That’s the fastest increase under any president ever.

But that’s George Bush’s Fault! He made them do it! remember that. 🙂

The nation’s debt increased $4.9 trillion under President Bush too, btw. But it took him 2,648 days to do it. Obama will surpass that sum during this term. (LA times)

That’s the Republicans Fault! 🙂

It’s growing $2.95 million a minute, but don’t worry, we just need to SPEND EVEN MORE!

And it’s all those nasty, mean “Conservatives” fault!

The Buck stops with anyone but a Democrats (or “Liberal”).

The Media Research Center has a revelatory study out this morning on the vast discrepancy between the way the news networks use the “conservative” and “liberal” labels for candidates.

In the first half of this year, NBC, ABC and CBS morning and evening news shows put attached the term “conservative” to a presidential contender 62 times, while during the same period in the presidential race in 2007, “liberal” came up only three times.

Media Research Center analysts reviewed the ABC, CBS and NBC morning and evening news programs from January 1 through July 31 and found 62 “conservative” labels for Republican candidates or those talked about as potential candidates. A check of the same broadcasts for the same time period in 2007 found a paltry three “liberal” labels for the Democrats running that year, a greater than 20-to-1 disparity.

In fact, reporters four years ago used the “liberal” label more freely with Republican candidates than Democrats. ABC’s Jake Tapper (World News, March 5, 2007) called Rudy Giuliani a “former big city mayor with liberal views on abortion, gay rights, and gun control.” But Democratic candidates such as Edwards and Clinton, whose views were to the left of Giuliani, were not once called “liberal” on any of the networks during the period we examined, while CBS and NBC never tagged Barack Obama as liberal.
Indeed, the most-labeled candidate this cycle is Michele Bachmann, who accounted for more than a third (23) of the ideological descriptions we tallied. On ABC’s World News on June 14, correspondent John Berman called Bachmann “one of Congress’s most conservative members.” Later that month, ABC’s Jon Karl described Bachmann as having “unyieldingly conservative views (June 26) and as an “uncompromising conservative” (June 27). Over on the CBS Evening News, Jan Crawford tagged Bachmann as “unapologetically conservative” (June 26).

On the June 27 NBC Nightly News, correspondent Kelly O’Donnell said Bachmann was “known for her firebrand conservative style.” The next morning on Today, co-host Matt Lauer asked Bachmann: “Are you at all concerned that your socially conservative views, that make you very popular in Iowa, might not play as well down the road?”

Four years ago, former North Carolina Senator John Edwards espoused the most stridently liberal positions of the major Democratic candidates, but drew no liberal labels from January 1 through July 31, 2007. (Then-NBC reporter Chip Reid, however, did supply a single liberal label on the December 28, 2006 edition of Today, as Edwards prepared to announce his candidacy: “Critics say Edwards is too liberal and, with just one term in the Senate, too inexperienced.”)Viewers only heard two liberal labels for then-Senator Barack Obama, who, like Edwards, espoused strongly liberal positions as a candidate. The labels came in a single flattering story by ABC’s Jake Tapper that was aired both on the January 16, 2007 World News and the next morning’s Good Morning America: “Obama has drawn raves for presenting fairly traditional liberal views as fresh and inspiring….As for then-New York Senator Hillary Clinton, who led the Democratic field throughout 2007, she was also never termed a liberal. In fact, network analysts busied themselves refuting the notion. “People think she’s a liberal, even though she’s hawkish,” MSNBC’s Chris Matthews asserted on NBC’s Todayon January 15, 2007. (Mr. “Tingle up my Leg” himself!)

For its part, CBS failed to attach a single liberal label to the Democratic candidates during the first seven months of 2007.It’s neither inaccurate nor impolite to describe this year’s GOP candidates as “conservative” — most of them wear the label proudly. But if the networks are going to treat both sides fairly, they should have been just as ardent in pointing out the liberalism of the Democratic field that produced the most liberal President in American history.
But why would they do that? 🙂
It would be like calling Illegal Aliens…Illegal Aliens! Not “migrants”.
And Islamic terrorists and radicals…Islamic terrorists and radicals. It’s much easier and better to call the Tea Partiers terrorists than the real ones.
Gotta fear the weirdos.
Besides pin the most ardent Liberals in a corner and they’ll call themselves “Progressives” but they won’t use it except then. It’s another out for them.
Demonize your opposition.
Label the Mark of the Beast.
Begone, ye SATAN “Conservative”. 🙂
Chris Matthews on Gov. Rick Perry:  Speculating on the Texas Governor’s popularity, Matthews theorized, “Do you think part of this southern appeal of this guy, who is to most of us this guy, Rick Perry, is he’s not a Mormon. He’s a Southern Baptist.” The NBC anchor then suggested sinister motives behind his supporters: “And a lot of it is that permission slip people give themselves, ‘Oh, I’m not bigoted on race or religion, but I just like this guy.'”
Now can you imagine saying that about the other guy…you know…THE LIBERAL. of course not, why would they do that…
Sunday’s (NBC) Meet the Press, substitute host Savannah Guthrie pushed the President from the left: “If the President thinks more should be done, if he thinks there should be more stimulus, why doesn’t he just go for broke? Why doesn’t he go out there and ask for it, make a case for it?”
Yeah, go for it! We’re nearly 15,000,000,000,000 in debt what the hell let’s SPEND EVEN MORE!!
Now that’s a good plan!! 😦
In contrast to her exchange with Gibbs, when Guthrie interviewed Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels minutes later, she actually discouraged Republicans from standing on principle: “…at the Republican debate the candidates were asked whether they would accept a deal in which there were $10 of spending cuts for every $1 of tax hikes. And every single candidate raised their hand….does that convey a sense that Republicans are so intransigent on this issue that this problem they profess to care about, i.e. the deficit, can’t be solved?”

Daniels countered by pointing to stubbornness on the Democratic side: “Well, first, there’s tons of intransigence on the other side. The Democrats have been utterly, I’d say, not only stubborn, but cynical in their protestations that they won’t touch, they won’t, they won’t modernize or rebuild the safety net programs, and everyone knows that has to happen.”

AVILA: Deep cuts in education helped balance the budget, and the divide between rich and poor is the fourth widest in the country. Some argue that, deep in the heart of Rick Perry’s Texas, there is little heart. Jim Avila, ABC News, San Antonio. (NB)
“I know you’re an objective reporter, but I smell birtherism about this guy. His attack on Obama isn’t just policy. It’s about the nature of the person who’s President….This could be Bull Connor with a smile.”–Chris Matthews. The fact that Bull Connor was a White, Southern DEMOCRAT I’m sure was missed by this Alinsky-inspired attack.
And we all know the Mainstream media is “Objective”, don’t we? 🙂
So where are the statements about Obama’s economy, the nearly $5 Trillion in spending in less than 3 years,  the chronic  unemployment, Libya, taxes, jobs, ObamaCare, anti-business, being a SOCIALIST! etc.
Oh, sorry, that’s George Bush’s Fault! Silly me… 🙂
And what isn’t his fault is the Republicans fault. Even if they have only had one branch of Congress for 7 months it’s still there fault.
Why? because they are “CONSERVATIVES”. That’s why. And we all know they are stubborn, heartless, mean, miserly, nasty old grinchs who just wanna throw grandma off a cliff, steal candy from babies, and be racist, bible-thumping terrorists.
And we can’t have that now can we?
Vote for Me, the Democrat, because the other guy/ gal  is a “Conservative” (aka asshole)!!

Fishing for a Clue

The Buck Stops With anyone but ME!

Americans witnessed a brief, but illuminating, incident last week epitomizing President Obama’s contempt for free markets, small businesses and entrepreneurs. During a Q&A session in Iowa, a farmer expressed concern that Obama’s tidal wave of new, bewildering regulations and economy-killing mandates disguised as needed oversight, would someday soon require him to spend more time with paperwork compliance than with farming.

Unfortunately, President Obama dismissed the farmer’s question, instead rambling on with his usual, shop-worn platitudes. Obama missed the point of the farmer’s question and, thus, missed the opportunity to hear and address the unvarnished, unscripted concerns of an average American confronting Team Obama’s destructive and intrusive policies.

Why would he be listening, the farmer didn’t say anything he wanted to hear.

And he was there to pimp himself, not to “listen” to you.

What a pity. When confronted with real concerns about the economy and issues that are holding back U.S. economic performance, Obama didn’t even realize that he was getting a rare dose of good economic advice.

Obama has no first-hand experience with business or with job creation. To compensate, Obama has surrounded himself with a group of suck-ups, crony capitalists that offer advice even they know is flawed, folks more interested in protecting their interests or expanding a narrow economic gain.

Unfortunately, many companies have learned that it is far easier to have Washington liberals and Team Obama enact policies that will tilt the playing field in their direction, freeze out their competitors, and guarantee returns, rather than be forced to compete in the free and open market with better ideas, better services and better products.

These companies, and there are many, have figured out that government regulations can be jiggered behind the scenes to give them advantages that other companies, especially smaller companies, cannot possibly enjoy.

Obama’s crony capitalists have also learned the art of hijacking the Justice Department to wage war on a competitor, to tangle them in regulatory knots and bogus lawsuits, to rob competitors of a business’ two most valuable resources-time and money.

Crony capitalists are nothing new, but during the Obama Administration they are entering their golden age of prosperity. Sadly, time spent on jiggering the system to their advantage in the short term is time taken away from jiggering their products to be more competitive in the long term.

Obama’s suckup capitalists hover thickly around so called “green projects”. This particular group of crony capitalists understand quite clearly that their products are not viable and offer only illusionary economic benefits. These “green companies” require huge subsidies and intrusive regulations to force Americans to buy products that they do not want.

But sometimes, even the huge subsides are insufficient to sustain a set of uneconomical “green” products. When the government money runs out, even once-darling eco-project such as the Evergreen Solar plant in Massachusetts, quickly wither, declaring bankruptcy and eliminating the “green jobs” President Obama promised were the way to win the future.

Many companies are, justifiably, afraid of the stiff regulatory oversight they face. They fear Washington bureaucrats may make ill-considered decisions that might destroy their company. So these businesses compromise, making Faustian bargains with Team Obama.

Americans saw many of the drug makers make Faustian bargains, agreeing to bad deals with the Obama Administration, figuring it would be easier to go-along-and get-along. Pharmaceutical companies had to know at the time that the Obamacare legislation would cripple innovation and restrict the development of new innovative discoveries, but these companies gently rolled over.

Government contractors and big defense companies often face the same dilemma. When huge projects, such as Boeing’s SBINet, border surveillance system, start to go off track as a result of ever-conflicting and ever-changing government requirements, the government contractor usually rolls over, accepts the full blame and moves off to lick its wounds, afraid that fighting the bureaucracy might harm their remaining government business.

Other government contractors, when confronted with bogus fines and penalties, which have been conjured to help some government agency pose as a cost-conscious crusader, do the same. Instead of fighting a charge they know is false, these government contractors, instead, accept the Faustian bargain, elect to pay a fine and move along. These companies are simply afraid of an arbitrary and vindictive government regulator.

And yet in time, many of the suckup capitalists learn just how expensive and foolhardy they were in agreeing to false government assertions. Stocks of all drug makers have plummeted since Obamacare legislation passed, and the pipeline of new discoveries has diminished as it becomes increasingly difficult to gain government approval to bring new pharmaceuticals to market.

When businesses cave in to government pressure, the government is emboldened to be even more intrusive. Boeing learned this lesson the hard way. They built a new plant in South Carolina, intending to expand production and hire thousands of new workers, only to be sued by the Obama Administration who wanted the new jobs to be fully unionized as a precondition for opening the plant.

Americans can only hope that companies across the nation might now rethink the dangerous and damaging deals and special arrangements they have made with the Obama Administration. There is always a high cost to these Faustian bargains. No matter how Dems may try to sugar coat it, Obama is anti-business. And, with time, companies are going to pay dearly for the false bargains struck with Team Obama in backroom deals.

A small farmer in Iowa knows that, and tried to give the President solid advice. Unfortunately, our President did not listen. (Lurita Doan)

There is no one more deaf than those who won’t listen.

Besides, his new plan is going to be an Orwellian Makeover of the same old plan, Tax the Rich, crush businesses, and Spend like the drug addicts they are.

In other words, more of the same. More “Hope and Change”. Isn’t that just peachy. 🙂

Basically, entrepreneurs need freedom, flexibility and encouragement in order to build profitable businesses and create jobs just like fish need water and a healthy, barrier-free environment in order to live.

Many politicians feign to help budding entrepreneurs by subsidizing pet industries and raising taxes on already-successful entrepreneurs. In truth, entrepreneurs don’t need politicians to interfere with the markets or tell them how to become entrepreneurs.

Let’s say a man is an expert at drilling for oil but the government shuts down his well and tells him to build windmills instead. The government is effectively telling him to warp his natural talents, stop fulfilling market needs and begin worshipping at the alter of artificial demands.

The government could help people born with entrepreneurial “gills” by backing off and giving them the “water” of freedom and autonomy that they need to survive. Backing off means drastically slashing the corporate income tax rate and reducing regulations on business owners.

Capitol Hill recently invited 150 young entrepreneurs to Washington to meet with politicians. One young entrepreneur shared his takeaways from the meeting with the New York Times: “…it might be too much to ask Washington to help with entrepreneurship when they (politicians) can’t even get the basics right, like maintaining a decent credit rating.”

Entrepreneurs are pioneers, not followers.

For example, Michael Dell started his company in his dorm room. Forbes reports that Dell Inc. now does over $61 billion in sales and employs 103,000 globally. Dell recently told Forbes and a group of student entrepreneurs: ‘One of the funniest questions that I get is, “How do I be an entrepreneur?” His answer is: “…go experiment and do something. If you’re waiting for somebody else to tell you to be an entrepreneur, you’re not one.”

But to Obama and Liberals Government rules all and should rule all, and is the only way to do anything.

As Dr. Seuss wrote: “If you want to get eggs you can’t buy at a store, you have to do things never thought of before.”

Socialism is very old. And it doesn’t work, except for the Government. They get to run everything badly and everyone suffers but they get all the power to do so.

And you still have apparatchiks and normal people. So you STILL have inequity, but the Liberals are the ones on top, so that’s all that matters.

The Obama administration granted another 106 waivers last month from part of the healthcare reform law — the first round of three-year waivers the Health and Human Services Department has approved.

The new approvals bring the total number of waivers to 1,472, according to HHS. Those figures cover waivers granted through the end of July. HHS will stop granting new waivers after September.

So much for dialing back the rhetoric, right?

On Saturday in Inglewood, Calif., Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters had some harsh words for the tea party.

“I’m not afraid of anybody,” the California congresswoman told constituents in footage that appeared on ABC affiliate KABC in Los Angeles, not backing down from comments made about President Obama earlier in the week. “This is a tough game. You can’t be intimidated. You can’t be frightened. And as far as I’m concerned — the tea party can go straight to hell.”

That proclamation was met with cheers from the audience, including attendees sporting purple SEIU T-shirts.

So anyone for “compromise”?? And that “new tone” and “civility” evaporated just minutes after it was pronounced and is nowhere to be seen anymore in the liberal universe.

It’s important to recall that, when the left accuses the Tea Party of violent rhetoric, in August 2004 one of the oldest and most prestigious publishing houses in the world published a sympathetic portrayal of a man who wanted to murder George W. Bush (called “Checkpoint”). There was even a Movie: “Death of a President” (2006) about the assassination of George W Bush WHILE he was still in the White House!

Today’s raging left is different from the old left. As thinkers from Christopher Lasch to James Hitchcock and Charles Krauthammer have observed, today’s left is debilitated by psychological problems, not just political grievances.

Secondly, conservatives, unlike liberals, do not have an investment in creating a utopia on earth. We are not disciples of the religion of Progress, which holds that the cosmos is working towards some grand New World Nirvana where pain and suffering do not exist.

We also understand Neuhaus’s law: When orthodox and core values are made optional, sooner or later they are proscribed.

We understand that the left is never satisfied. (Seriously, how long before a church gets sued for not performing a gay marriage?)

If children are not properly raised, disciplined and socialized, they retain crude, monstrous images about the world in their psyches. They see ogres in everyone who does not respond to their needs, and potential disaster in every dispute — especially when that narcissism is commingled with the religion of Progress.

Of course, there is narcissism on both sides of the aisle. But conservatives haven’t written any fantasies about killing the president. (DC)

The Left has, twice, at least.

If you think about it, it’s amazing how these disparate groups, that are non-partisan and tax-exempt, like the Center for American Progress, Media Matters, Moveon, etc., all manage to come up with, use and push the same talking points within minutes of each other. Inevitably they’re all over NBC News and spewed as if they just occurred to the hosts, one after the other, on the spot. (I use NBC News to cover NBC proper and MSNBC. They want to be thought of as individual entities to protect the remaining shred of credibility NBC News still has, but they aren’t. When personalities from the credibility lifeboat on NBC appear on or have shows on MSNBC, they are the same.) And miraculously they’re the same talking points and buzzwords the White House adopts. No coordination there…

But vote for the President, the other guy/gal is a lunatic and an asshole… 🙂

Common Sense

A vacationing President Barack Obama accused Congress on Saturday of holding back the U.S. economic recovery by blocking “common sense” measures he said would create jobs and help growth.

After all, it’s “common sense” that Liberals are always right and never to blame for ANYTHING. They only take credit for their overall superior intellect…The one that lashes out childishly if you question their superiority. 🙂

“The only thing preventing us from passing these bills is the refusal by some in Congress to put country ahead of party. That’s the problem right now. That’s what’s holding this country back,”

Some= Republicans. Not the Democrats who haven’t passed a budget in 842 days. Or the Democrats who refuse to even discuss Republican proposals. Or Democrats who pass massive business-killing regulations or spend $4 trillion dollars and get nothing out of it except ideological gratification. .

Nope. It’s the Republicans fault. The Senate and the Presidency are controlled by the Democrats, but it’s the Republicans fault. And if that doesn’t work, it’s George Bush’s Fault!

“We’re going through a tough time right now. We’re coming through a terrible recession,” he said. “So we need folks in Washington — the people whose job it is to deal with the country’s problems, the people who you elected to serve — we need them to put aside their differences to get things done.”

Translation: Stop Blocking Democrat’s need to Tax and Spend like complete morons. If we just spend more money everything will be fine! Give us More Time!

Class Warfare is good for the country. So stop being “terrorists”.

Oh, just in case you were wondering about Obama’s new fuel economy standards (where we are supposed to use less foreign oil rather drill for our own because oil companies are evil):

The Obama Administration’s new fuel economy standards will cause the retail price of average motor vehicles to increase over $11,000, according to a study conducted by the Center for Automotive Research.

“A fuel economy standard of 37.6 mpg is associated with a price increase of $5,244, 18.1 percent higher than the 2009 National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) average price of $28,966. A fuel economy standard of 40.8 mpg is associated with a price increase of $6,770, 23.4 percent higher than the 2009 NADA price,” says their report called, “The U.S. Automotive Market and Industry in 2025.”

“A fuel economy standard of 44.8 mpg is associated with a price increase of $8,214, 28.4 percent higher than the 2009 NADA price. The fourth fuel economy standard of 49.6 mpg is associated with an $11,290 increase in retail price. It is assumed that manufacturers and dealers will pass on the cost increase in fuel economy and safety technology to the consumer, at a retail price equivalent.”

The Obama administration’s new fuel economy standards would require automakers to produce cars and light trucks with an average fuel economy of 54.5 mpg by 2025. The Center for Automotive Research says their study is “the result of 11 months of effort and investigation by researchers at CAR in 2010-2011.”

Zoe Lipman, the National Wildlife Federation’s Senior Manager for Transportation and Global Warming Solutions argued on a conference call held Thursday that the estimated fuel savings due to these standards will outweigh the “modest” motor vehicle price increases for consumers.

And we can all afford such “modest” increases like $11,000 more for a car. It’s good for us. 🙂

Thomas Pyle, the president of the Institute for Energy Research disagrees with Lipman.

“The Obama administration’s latest fuel economy mandates are an aggressive step away from consumer choice and towards government control,” he said in a USA Today op-ed.

“Every day, Americans are seeing the negative consequences of the administration’s increasingly aggressive meddling in the economy—more government control and less consumer choice.” (CNS)

But it’s for you own good. And, after all, Government does know best…

That’s only “common sense” 😮

See Something, Say Nothing

Janeane Garofalo stopped being funny in…let’s see, what year was she born? Now, while accusing others of racism (over and over with the Tea Party), she proves what a racist she is on Keith Olberman’s show (The one on Al Gore’s Current TV that only the far left would watch) by suggesting that businessman and presidential candidate Herman Cain is being paid by somebody to run as a Republican and that he’s suffering from “Stockholm Syndrome.” (Stockholm syndrome is a term used to describe a real paradoxical psychological phenomenon wherein hostages express empathy and have positive feelings towards their captors, sometimes to the point of defending them).

That’s right Janeane, a Black man can’t possibly think that taxes are too high, the federal government is too big and that regulations are killing small businesses and innovation. Why? Because that doesn’t fit your preconceived idea of what being Black means. Uh, that’s racism.

WASHINGTON (AP) – The Obama administration said Thursday it will allow many illegal immigrants facing deportation the chance to stay in this country and apply for a work permit, while focusing on removing from the U.S. convicted criminals and those who might be a national security or public safety threat. (Just not AT the border).

That will mean a case-by-case review of approximately 300,000 illegal immigrants facing possible deportation in federal immigration courts, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said in announcing the policy change.

Advocates for an immigration overhaul have said that the administration, by placing all illegal immigrants in the same category for deportation, has failed to live up to its promise to only deport the “worst of the worst,” as President Barack Obama has said.

“From a law enforcement and public safety perspective, DHS enforcement resources must continue to be focused on our highest priorities,”  (The 97 year old dying grandma, 18 month olds with diapers, white people, Tea Party Terrorists!…the usual suspects!) Napolitano wrote a group of senators supporting new immigration legislation. “Doing otherwise hinders our public safety mission – clogging immigration court dockets and diverting DHS enforcement resources away from the individuals who pose a threat to public safety.” (translation: actually doing our job!)

Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., a longtime supporter of immigration overhaul and the DREAM Act, applauded the policy change.

“These students are the future doctors, lawyers, teachers and, maybe, senators, who will make America stronger,” Durbin said in an emailed statement. “We need to be doing all we can to keep these talented, dedicated, American students here, not wasting increasingly precious resources sending them away to countries they barely remember.” (Barf Bag Overload, I think I choked back a tear…nope that was my breakfast!)

Rep. Michael McCaul, R-Texas, said the Obama administration was implementing reforms “against the will of Congress and the majority of American people we represent.”

“It is just the latest attempt by this president to bypass the intended legislative process when he does not get his way,” McCaul said in a statement. “The fact that we have a backlog and prioritize deportations is nothing new. This policy goes a step further granting illegal immigrants a fast-track to gaining a work permit where they will now unfairly compete with more than 9 percent of Americans who are still looking for jobs.”

And the illegal alien wouldn’t show up on unemployment stats either! What a great deal!

“Terrorist Group Setting Up Operations Near Border: Hezbollah Considered To Be More Advanced Than Al-Qaida,” from

SAN DIEGO — A terrorist organization whose home base is in the Middle East has established another home base across the border in Mexico.

“They are recognized by many experts as the ‘A’ team of Muslim terrorist organizations,” a former U.S. intelligence agent told 10News.

The former agent, referring to Shi’a Muslim terrorist group Hezbollah, added, “They certainly have had successes in big-ticket bombings.”

Some of the group’s bombings include the U.S. embassy in Beirut and Israeli embassy in Argentina.

However, the group is now active much closer to San Diego.

“We are looking at 15 or 20 years that Hezbollah has been setting up shop in Mexico,” the agent told 10News.

Since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, U.S. policy has focused on al-Qaida and its offshoots.

“They are more shooters than thinkers … it’s a lot of muscles, courage, desire but not a lot of training,” the agent said, referring to al-Qaida.

Hezbollah, he said, is far more advanced.

“Their operators are far more skilled … they are the equals of Russians, Chinese or Cubans,” he said. “I consider Hezbollah much more dangerous in that sense because of strategic thinking; they think more long-term.”

Hezbolah has operated in South America for decades and then Central America, along with their sometime rival, sometime ally Hamas.

Now, the group is blending into Shi’a Muslim communities in Mexico, including Tijuana. Other pockets along the U.S.-Mexico border region remain largely unidentified as U.S. intelligence agencies are focused on the drug trade.

“They have had clandestine training in how to live in foreign hostile territories,” the agent said. […]

“If they really wanted to start blowing stuff up, they could do it,” the agent said.

According to the agent, the organization sees the U.S. as their “cash cow,” with illegal drug and immigration operations. Many senior Hezbollah leaders are wealthy businessmen, the agent said.

“The money they are sending back to Lebanon is too important right now to jeopardize those operations,” he said.

The agent said the real concern is the group’s long-term goal of radicalizing Muslim communities.

“They’re focusing on developing … infiltrating communities within North America,” the agent told 10News.

SAN DIEGO (AP) – Federal officials said Thursday they’ve taken down a drug and weapons trafficking ring involving members of San Diego’s Iraqi community and a major Mexican drug cartel that was caught selling large amounts of drugs, guns and grenades.

Police in El Cajon said more than 60 suspects linked to the Chaldean Organized Crime Syndicate were arrested.

Smugglers were shipping drugs from El Cajon to Iraqis in Detroit, where the Chaldean syndicate is based, authorities said.

El Cajon and federal police say they have seized 18 pounds of methamphetamine, narcotics, cocaine and other drugs; more than 3,500 pounds of marijuana; $630,000 in cash; four IEDs; and more than 30 guns, including assault rifles.

In April, a Drug Enforcement Agency undercover agent was shown a hand grenade by an immigrant and was told additional grenades were available from a Mexican military source.

The cartel, Sinaloa, is Mexico’s most powerful drug cartel, led by Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, who has become one of the world’s richest and most-wanted men since he escaped from a Mexican prison 10 years ago.

The investigation focused on an Iraqi social club in El Cajon that authorities said is a hub of criminal activity conducted by Iraqi organized crime. Crimes including attempted murder, sales of meth and marijuana, gambling and illegal firearms sales have been reported at the club.

El Cajon police have for years received complaints from neighbors and the wives of men who attended the club. The managers of the club are aware of the criminal activity and demand a cut of the money, according to authorities. Armed guards are allegedly provided during high-states card games.

The club’s troubles go back more than a decade. In 1998, police seized illegal slot machines. In 2007, it was identified as a gathering spot for Iraqi narcotics distributors. In 2009, authorities started investigating the illegal sale of firearms and possession of hand grenades.

Four indictments were unsealed Thursday charging nine people with federal narcotics and weapons trafficking charges and the unlawful possession of various firearms and explosives. One of the suspects, Nofel Noel Suleyman, was also charged with engaging in a continuing criminal enterprise, which carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 20 years in prison.

Under Guzman, Sinaloa grew bloodier and more powerful, controlling cocaine trafficking on the Mexican border with California, while expanding eastward to the corridor between Sonora and Arizona and waging a fierce battle for Chihuahua state bordering Texas. That war made the border city of Ciudad Juarez one of the world’s most dangerous cities.

In October 2010, Mexico made its largest marijuana bust _ 134 tons _ in Tijuana and said markings on the packages linked the haul to El Chapo, showing that he was also running drugs smoothly through a city once controlled by his archrivals, the Arrellano Felix gang.

But if you “see something, say something”. Just as long as it’s not about Illegal Aliens, Hispanics, or terrorists crossing/or crossed the border!!

Especially, if they are terrorists!

So “see something, say nothing”. 🙂

Big Sis and Big Brother aren’t interested.

But if you see a Tea Party Terrorist or a Black politician/man with “Stockholm Syndrome” then say something!

America, what a country! 🙂

The Throw America Under the Bus Tour

Listen to the reason we are so in the dump:

Political Cartoons by Eric Allie

He just finished his “Listening Tour” of campaign first-up state Iowa and his home state of liberals in Illinois (which some liberals in Minnesota). And I bet you thought it was tour like he said it was, to listen to you….Wrong!

It was a tour to LISTEN TO HIM give more speeches about his disapproval of Republicans (euphemism- “Congress”) and finally his new jobs plan that he will revealed after Labor Day.

So, Obama has YET ANOTHER new plan for “creating jobs”. What is this, the 15th one? He goes to it for 5 minutes every time he wants to look like he gives a crap about anything other than his ideology (and it has failed miserably).

But, like the leader he is, you are going to have weeks for it. He has to go on vacation at a $50,000 a day resort in “the rich”s playground of Martha’s Vineyard first. Gotta have your priorities straight.

I wonder how many “corporate jet” owners will be in the area?

But you don’t have to wait for him unveil his new speech (he doesn’t actually have a real plan-he just gives speeches that his minions say are “plans”) because it will be like all the others except he’ll have come up some new euphemism for TAX you to death so he can spend more.

He’s burned through “Investments” and “Infrastructure” and “revenues” already in the last year, so get ready for “Tax Reform”.

Yes, folks, he’s going to “reform” your taxes.  Yes He Can!

So how’s that “hope and Change” working for you”?

And if “Congress” aka Republicans, won’t pass it he’ll pout all over his teleprompter and get his Liberal Media minions to play Ministry of Truth and whine 24/7/365 while they slag anyone who isn’t him running for president into a radioactive pile of poo because “vote for me, the other guy’s an asshole!”.

So I just can’t wait to find out what is in this latest present all wrapped up under the tree with a pretty bow and puppies and kittens on it…say  do you smell something…it smells like death…

Well, if equality of income is the priority, liberals should be thrilled with the last four years. The recession and weak recovery have been income levelers. Those who make more than $200,000 captured one-quarter of the $7.6 trillion in total income in 2009. In 2007 the over-$200,000 crowd had one-third of reported U.S. taxable income. Those with incomes above $1 million earned 9.5% of total income in 2009, down from 16.1% in 2007.

The President needs to levy his tax increase at such a lower income level because that’s where the money is. In 2009, 237,000 taxpayers reported income above $1 million and they paid $178 billion in taxes. A mere 8,274 filers reported income above $10 million, and they paid only $54 billion in taxes.

But 3.92 million reported income above $200,000 in 2009, and they paid $434 billion in taxes. To put it another way, roughly 90% of the tax filers who would pay more under Mr. Obama’s plan aren’t millionaires, and 99.99% aren’t billionaires.

It’s an old story: The best way to produce income equality is to destroy trillions of dollars of wealth. Everyone loses, but the rich lose relatively more than the poor and the middle class. By that measure, if few others, Obamanomics has been a raging success. (WSJ)

So $200,000 is the new “million”. That’s Obamanomics for you!

The Obama administration has a big idea to bolster employment: a Department of Jobs. This isn’t a South Park episode satirizing the White House but an actual idea floated by an administration official in the New York Times. The irony of a “Department of Jobs” is clearly lost on the hapless president. (WSJ)

The only jobs that will be created will be Government Bureaucrats! And we all need more Bureaucrats!

Rejoice. Don’t be a sourpuss (aka disagree with his speeches and his minions).

Be Happy.

It could have been so much worse! 🙂

“First, I want to echo the sentiments of those who have spoken before me in praising you and thanking you for all of your efforts and all the things that you’ve tried to do during probably one of the most difficult situations faced by any president in the face of unreasonable obstruction and opposition.”–President Obama in Cannon Falls,MN.

Yeah, the 15 months of complete control by Democrats doesn’t count. It’s only the last 7 months of  Republican “obstructionism” is to blame. Yeah, they keep proposing solutions and the Democrats slag them and then the Republicans cave. That’s your obstructionism, folks.

And Vote for Obama, the Other Guy’s an Asshole! 🙂

And a final note from Big Sis on the evils of White people (Not Muslims)

My Objection: Wheres the 97 year old dying grandma with the colostomy bag? or the 18 month old with a diaper?

All’s right with the world… “Blackadder” Obama has a new cunning plan…

The New Stimulus

The New Stimulus (according to Obama Bureaucrats)– FOOD STAMPS!

14% of all people in this country being on government food stamps is good!

Obama’s Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack: “Well, obviously, it’s putting people to work. Which is why we’re going to have some interesting things in the course of the forum this morning. Later this morning, we’re going have a press conference with Secretary Mavis and Secretary Chu to announce something that’s never happened in this country — something that we think is exciting in terms of job growth. I should point out, when you talk about the SNAP program or the foot stamp program, you have to recognize that it’s also an economic stimulus. Every dollar of SNAP benefits generates $1.84 in the economy in terms of economic activity. If people are able to buy a little more in the grocery store, someone has to stock it, package it, shelve it, process it, ship it. All of those are jobs. It’s the most direct stimulus you can get in the economy during these tough times.”

<<Industrial strength Barf Bag please!>>

But then again this the same group of idiots that said Unemployment benefits was a stimulus!

July 2010:  Let me say that unemployment insurance… is one of the biggest stimuluses (sic) to our economy. Economists will tell you, this money is spent quickly. It injects demand into the economy, and it’s job creating. It creates jobs faster than almost any other initiative you can name. -Nancy Pelosi

So if you’re unemployed and on food stamps you’re the greatest stimulus out there! :0

And we’ll have a roaring economy within…days… 🙂

Political Cartoons by Glenn McCoy

Oh, and Obama has yet a new plan! (read: speech) But he’s not telling you what it is until September. It’s going to be great and it’s going to create jobs!

Mind you, the dozen other “plans” (speeches) did nothing but when you’re a pathological ideologue doing the same thing over and and over again and expecting a different result is just normal. 🙂

But he has his minions in the Liberal press to hype it for the next few weeks so that by the time he gives his speech he’ll be walking on water and turning it into Whine. 🙂

NBC “journalist” Chuck Todd: TODD: “It does seem as if he has pledged to do this plan out there. Not a lot of details, but to me he’s raised the bar, because he said, ‘this plan is going to grow the economy, create jobs and deal with the debt.’ So that’s, sounds like a big, large plan to me, Ezra.” (as in ultra lib Ezra Klein).

It’s going to be soaring rhetorical speech, not a plan, and it will be the Republican fault when it fails utterly. 🙂

GOP Presidential candidate Rick Perry calls President Obama a black cloud over our economy. MSNBC’s Ed Schultz edits the clip to make it look like Perry is calling Obama a “black cloud.” He then apologizes, but the Talking point has been made.

So yet again, the race card comes out.

Isn’t “journalism” fun. It’s so objective and “fair”.

And Obama is, after all, a victim and you should feel his greatness.

President Barack Obama said yesterday in Decorah, Iowa, that he absorbs more political criticism than Abraham Lincoln, the assassinated 16th U.S. president, attracted from his Civil War critics.

The comment came during a question-and-answer session where one invited audience member asked Obama how he deals with his congressional critics in the GOP. “The Congress doesn’t seem to be a good partner. You said so yourself, they’re more interested in seeing you lose than [seeing] the country win,” the questioner lamented.

“Democracy is always a messy business in a big country like this,” Obama responded. “When you listen to what the federalists said about the anti-federalists … those guys were tough. Lincoln, they used to talk about him almost as bad as they talk about me.”

The arrogant insult to a great man like Lincoln is just beyond astounding, but not beyond his ego.

But I will give him one thing about his comparison, their is a Civil War going on in the country. The only problem is that the President and his party ARE THE CAUSE of it!

Criticism of Lincoln in his day “was even more vitriolic than what you see about Obama,” said Eric Foner, a Pulitzer Prize-winning presidential historian at Columbia University. “Obama is a guy who has a thin skin and does not take criticism well.” Foner’s Pulitzer-winning volume was titled ”The Fiery Trial: Abraham Lincoln and American Slavery.”

Obama’s sensitivity to criticism is bound up with his progressive ideology, which sees political disputes as best resolved by experts, said Michael Franc, vice president for government studies at the Heritage Foundation. Obama believes “he has discovered the truth and if you disagree with him, it’s not only against the country, its unpatriotic and anti-Obama,” Franc suggested. (DC)

Amen! And haven’t I been saying just that…

Eric Dezenhall, a former communications aide to President Ronald Reagan, went ever further in an interview with The Daily Caller: Obama’s complaint, he said, “is more grandiose than narcissistic … It’s equating any form of push-back with some sort of giant historical crime.”

Lincoln faced a civil war in which “half the country would rather leave than accept that he was a constitutional president,” Felzenberg told TheDC. But “no one challenged Obama’s election, no one tried to shut down the inauguration … to put himself at [Lincoln’s] level seems very vain and self-absorbed.”

Talk is cheap. That seems to be the only thing that is when it come to his Grandness Barack Hussein Obama.

Oh, and the Peter Principle of government bureaucracy strikes again.

Three supervisors of the US government’s controversial anti-gun-running program “Fast and Furious” were promoted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) despite continued criticism of their actions, the Los Angeles Times reported Tuesday.

Screw up and deliberately sell guns to Mexican Drug Cartels and get people killed — Get a Promotion!

No wonder the fire rate in government is .0055%!

Maybe we need more unemployment and food stamps in government employees to really stimulate the economy!!

The Misery Tour

Political Cartoons by Michael Ramirez

When the only thing you do is politics, and everything you do is politics.

Then even a “bus tour” is politics. And it is.

At a town hall meeting on his campaign-style tour of the Midwest, President Obama claimed that his economic program “reversed the recession” until recovery was frustrated by events overseas.  And then, Obama said, with the economy in an increasingly precarious position, the recovery suffered another blow when Republicans pressed the White House for federal spending cuts in exchange for an increase in the national debt limit, resulting in a deal Obama called a “debacle.”

“We had reversed the recession, avoided a depression, gotten the economy moving again,” Obama told a crowd in Decorah, Iowa.  “But over the last six months we’ve had a run of bad luck.”  Obama listed three events overseas — the Arab Spring uprisings, the tsunami in Japan, and the European debt crises — which set the economy back.

Damn, now it’s Japan’s Fault! A Natural Disaster ruined his economy. (Hint: it was already there) And the Arab Spring, wasn’t he the one out front promoting it? Libya anyone? Remember that?  He doesn’t…

“All those things have been headwinds for our economy,” Obama said.  “Now, those are things that we can’t completely control.  The question is, how do we manage these challenging times and do the right things when it comes to those things that we can control?”

We do nothing but demagogue anything that does something about it. You call them “terrorists” and you blame them for it! That’s what Democrats do…

No Democrats passed Budget in 838 days!

“The problem,” Obama continued, “is that we’ve got the kind of partisan brinksmanship that is willing to put party ahead of country, that is more interested in seeing their political opponents lose than seeing the country win.  Nowhere was that more evident than in this recent debt ceiling debacle.” (washington Examiner)

He’s great, he’s done wonderfully,We would be in Utopia except for  those damn Republicans, “terrorist” Tea Partiers, and mother nature…Damn!

“My attitude is, get it done … [but] if they don’t get it done, then we’ll be running against a Congress that’s not doing anything for the American people, and the choice will be very stark and will be very clear.”-President Obama

Aka, those damn Republicans! Those damn Tea Partiers! They need to get out of my way!

So he will be flapping his gums about all his great plans, if only Congressional Republicans would just shut and “compromise”.

But he won’t propose any real plans. It’s all speeches. Speeches are not plans. No matter how much the Liberal Media and The White House wants it to be.

If the Republican Congress does not cooperate with his proposals, “I will take my case to the American people,” he said. If Republicans “want to sit there and do nothing for the next 16 months, while unemployment is still high and small businesses are still suffering, then ultimately they’re going to be held to account by you,” he told his audience.

The fact that the Democrats control the Senate AND the Presidency is irrelevant to his Talking Points so the Republicans can propose all they want but the Senate and the President will shoot it down and then blame it on the Republicans! It’s their fault, after all.

That’s how it’s done in Liberal Land.

It’s your fault for not fixing the problem, but if you propose something they don’t like it’s still your fault when they crush it and demagogue you into a nuclear slag pile for it!

And that hyper-partisanship is also your fault!

The joys of “hope and change”.

“You can’t just make money on SUVs and trucks,” Obama said during a town hall forum in Cannon Falls, Minn. “There is a place for SUVs and trucks, but as gas prices keep on going up, you have got to understand the market. People are going to try to save money.”

Aka, the Chevy Volt. The fake electric car. July 2011- 125 cars were sold.

GM says they’re going toincrease production to 5,000 Volts per month in order to keep up with demand. You see, they claim that the reason the Volt isn’t selling is that they can’t keep enough cars on the lot. A GM spokeswoman recently claimed that they are “virtually sold out.”

Doesn’t this sound very Liberal. You are selling 125 a month, so you produce 5,000 of them! Now that’s Liberal economics for you!

You know who’s buying them, The Government with your taxpayer money!

Doesn’t that just say everything about Obamanomics….The Government is propping up a failing product and now wants to do anything about it because of ideology.
Yes, We Can! 🙂

Barack Obama Job Approval, Recent Trend Through Week of Aug. 8-14, 2011

So it’s time to go out and get the 2012 “rock star” tour and hope people faint in his presence.

And his going to Iowa, where all the Republicans were, just by coincidence!

Welcome to “Greyhound One” with cost $2.2 Million BEFORE it was retrofitted.

Republican Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney: “During his Magical Misery bus tour this week, it is unlikelyPresident Obamawill speak with unemployed Americans, to near-bankrupt business owners, or to families struggling to survive in this economy,” the campaign said in a statement released prior to Obama’s arrival in Minnesota Monday. A View to Kill

So how’s that “Hope and Change” working for you?

Can Harry Reid wait out the Tea Party?

The Senate majority leader seems to think so.

Reid blamed everything that ails Washington and the nation on Republicans. He slammed the GOP for its refusal to go along with tax increases as part of this month’s debt-ceiling deal, saying hard-core fiscal conservatives are making it impossible to strike a long-term deal that slows the growth of the national debt.

“(Senate Minority Leader) Mitch McConnell has done a good job bringing the country to a standstill,” Reid said.

The reason Republicans have drawn such a deep line in the sand on tax increases, of course, is the Tea Party movement. The populist uprising that was born from Washington’s bailouts achieved critical mass after Democrats decided to start spending like no government before. The stimulus. The ObamaCare overreach. Budget deficits that made President George W. Bush look like a piker.

Democrats were tossed from office in record numbers last November. That groundswell is shaping the 2012 campaign.

But Reid doesn’t expect it to last.

“The Tea Party was the result of a terrible economy,” he said. “I’ve said that many times, and I believe that.”

“That (the Tea Party) will pass. They will lose a number of seats next year.”

Reid has amassed his considerable power by never underestimating his adversaries. And he has been known to throw out strategic fibs to create misdirection.

However, Reid left the indelible impression Friday that as long as he’s leading the Senate Democrats, the Tea Party agenda is dead on arrival in his chamber.

But don’t worry, it’s the Republicans fault for not “compromising”. 🙂

In exchange for a modicum of reduced growth in federal spending, Reid said someone will have to pay more. There will be no reductions and entitlement reforms without tax increases.

But don’t worry, it’s the Republicans fault for not “compromising”. 🙂

He singled out the rich and oil companies as especially deserving of punishment.

But he’s not engaged in class warfare. 🙂

But budget deficits under Bush were in the $100 billion to $400 billion range, mostly related to the post 9/11 wars. The Obama administration — working with a Democratic House and Senate its first two years — set the course for budget deficits of more than $1 trillion into the distant future. Obama is on course to pile up more debt in three years than Bush did in eight.

But that’s Bush’s fault also, you know…

Echoing the sentiment of other Democrats and devoted Keynesians, Reid said the failed stimulus just wasn’t big enough. “I had $100 billion in infrastructure development in the bill, but I needed three Republican votes. Arlen Specter, Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins made me get rid of it.”

When in debt, spend even more (“Infrastructure”= Spending), and those damn Republicans screwed that up too! :0

Obama’s poll rating is the lowest yet, so it’s time to go on a campaign trip and say lots of flowery “centrist” things he doesn’t mean and try fake out people again.

And having the biggest campaign warchest in history and a complicit Liberal media to slag your opponents into a radioactive mess doesn’t hurt either.

After all, “Vote for Me , the other guy is an EXTREMIST! Asshole!”

Asked how Iowans view President Barack Obama, Michael Gartner, the President of NBC News from 1988 to 1993, insisted on this weekend’s Bloomberg TV’s Political Capital: “I think people have a fondness for him and I don’t think people blame him for anything that’s wrong in this country,” except, that is, “the far-right of the Republican Party.”

No media bias there.

“I think there’s a lot of time on radio and television and on the Web that actually is conservative points of view. There’s not a lot of time for the left,” long-time CNN executive David Bohrman, the new President of Current TV, the channel co-founded by Al Gore which is Keith Olbermann’s new home, laughably claimed late Sunday morning in a live interview on CNN’s Reliable Sources.“I also think that the left needs to recapture patriotism and not let the right own the flag and own patriotism” and even saw MSNBC’s prime time as too balanced.

NBC’anchor Brian Williams,“By all accounts the big meeting with his fellow Republicans is tense. In no uncertain terms the Speaker tells hardline conservatives, who are in no mood to compromise, to get in line behind his bill.”

Notice the labels. Somehow, Williams never spent a second on his Obama special asking the President how he was going to handle the demands of “hardline liberals” – or any kind of liberal, for that matter. The only hardliners are conservatives who want to stop the spending madness. What this country desperately needs are more “hardline conservatives” to dismay network anchormen. (Brent Bozell)

Remember, the only hardline, uncompromising people are the Tea Party and Conservative Republicans. 🙂

The “unbiased” Media says so it must be true. 🙂

Williams to Pelosi: “A liberal member said to me his fear is the poor are gonna get hurt and the rich are gonna get by without harm in this. Is that your fear?”

Pelosi preposterously proclaimed she had the entire country at heart, while the GOP only cared about the super rich: “My concern is for the great middle class and we want to have a resolution of this that is for 100 percent of the American people. Republicans want to have a resolution that is for the two percent.” (Bozell)

No bias here. 🙂
But just remember the Democrat mantra, “Vote for me, the other guy is an extremist asshole!”

Fell that “hope and change” Yes you can! 🙂

The Oncoming Storm

No, this is not about the The Tenth Doctor… 🙂

CNN’s Candy Crowley’s questions repeatedly sought to paint Bachmann as an extremist.

“What are your credentials to move towards the center?” she asked. “Tea party people are seen [in polls] as uncompromising … doesn’t that put you outside the mainstream? … The impression is that people supported by the tea party don’t compromise.”

Well, when “compromise” to a Liberal means you give them everything want and nothing meaningful you want., yeah I guess so.

Next, we’ll bite the heads off live chickens!

It’s just the early rounds of the Democrats tired old strategy, “Vote me the other guy (or gal) is an asshole/extremist!!”

The fact that I’m much worse than they are doesn’t matter.

Perception matters. And with 24/7/365 that’s a lot of perception.

Welcome to Orwell’s nightmare!

DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz

Question: “You have called Paul Ryan’s plan a ‘death trap for seniors,’  even though it explicitly excluded current and soon-to-be seniors.  As a 26-year-old, I see the Medicare actuaries say that Medicare as we know it is going to go bankrupt and become insolvent in 13 years.  I’m wondering what your, and your party’s plan specifically is, to avoid that fate?”

Part One: DWS says Democrats have already extended Medicare’s lifespan by eight years.  They’ve accomplished this, mind you, by cutting half-a-trillion in supposed inefficiencies, waste, and abuse out of the system.  Two problems.  First, they turned right around and double-applied those not-yet-realized “savings” as “found” funding for their brand new health care entitlement program.  As Paul Ryan has explained, it’s an accounting gimmick of the highest order to count the same $500 Billion as both a means to lengthen Medicare’s solvency, and as a funding mechanism for Obamacare.  Second, the Medicare trustees’ report I cite in my question (linked above) already takes into account these alleged “savings” — and stillconcludes that Medicare will go belly-up by 2024.
Part Two: Pressed for a specific plan for achieving future savings, DWS assures me that Medicare can be saved by identifying and eliminating “waste fraud and abuse.”  I could decry the unseriousness of this “plan,” but I think I’ll let someone else do the honors:

“Politicians are often eager to feed the impression that solving the problem is just a matter of eliminating waste and abuse –that tackling the deficit issue won’t require tough choices.”

That quote comes from an April speech delivered by noted right-wing operative Barack H. Obama. Why, it’s almost as if he knew that four months later, a rascally politician would eagerly attempt to feed the impression that the coming Medicrash can be solved by eliminating waste and abuse.  (In fairness to DWS, Obama actually resorted to this line of fantastical thinking later in the same speech).

But let’s tease this out anyway.  Let’s assume for a moment that truly massive and systemic waste, fraud, and abuse does exist in Medicare.  For argument’s sake, let’s say that a ludicrously-high 20 percent of all Medicare payments are fraudulent or wasteful.  Let’s also give Democrats the benefit of the doubt that they really would implement a flawless strategy to excise every last dime of that abuse.  Medicare’s unfunded liabilities (ie, unpaid-for future promises) were estimated at $74 Trillion in 2008.  This hypothetical and breathtakingly efficient waste/fraud/abuse reduction campaign would drop that number to about $60 Trillion.  This is not a solution. Plus, as the president admitted in April, everyone knows this “strategy” is pretty much a joke.  Democrats triumphantly claim they’ve already eliminated half-a-trillion bucks in Medicare waste.  The notion that they could find trillions more, and would follow through on rigorously rooting it out, is laugh-out-loud preposterous.

Part Three – “Working together” to find “other ways to bring cost down.”  Well, I guess we can all go home now!  The Party that has taken to branding its ideological opponents as “terrorists” will soberly facilitate a “let’s hold hands and work together” mystery masterstroke to save Medicare.  Problem solved.  One last question, though: Where and when might this bipartisan solutions binge occur?  At the very end of the clip, DWS tells me she places her faith in the newly-formed Super Committee – which is comprised of six Democrats who are opposed to significant Medicare changes.  But I’m sure things will work out just fine.  With that, Wasserman Schultz was whisked away by her handlers.  Shortly thereafter, a Democratic official approached me and tersely asked, “who are you with?”

The looming destruction of “Medicare as we know it” – the unsustainable fee-for-service model – is no laughing matter.  If you have any doubts whatsoever about the existence or validity of this rapidly-accelerating death spiral, click here, here, here, and here.  Once you’ve come to terms with the magnitude of the problem, take a second look at Paul Ryan’s solution, watch this video again, and draw your own conclusions about which side is genuinely and pro-actively striving to save the social safety net.

But don’t worry, the other guys an EXTREMIST!!! :0

UPDATE – One word DWS didn’t use, but what would undoubtedly be a central element of Democrats’ comprehensive plan to save Medicare (if they had one): Rationing.

p.s.  Economics:

it’s simple.

If no one is buying there is nothing to sell and if there is nothing to sell, then you don’t need the employees and if you don’t need the employees they are unemployed and not working so they aren’t buying.
No sales, no production, no production no employee, no employee no increasing income, no increasing income no sales, and on and on.

And the Circle around the toilet bowl continues.

Unemployment still tops 9%. Private-sector businesses may have more than $1 trillion in cash, but they will be scared into not hiring or buying as long as they fear a new tax, a new regulation, a new entitlement obligation, a new plant shutdown — or a new harangue. (VDH)

But at least you didn’t vote for the “extremist” 🙂

From Mandate to Responsibility

ObamaCare Update:

The U.S. Appeals Court for the 11th Circuit, based in Atlanta, ruled 2 to 1 that Congress exceeded its authority by requiring Americans to buy coverage…A divided three-judge panel of the 11th Circuit found that it did not pass muster under that clause or under the power of Congress to tax. The administration has said the penalty for not buying healthcare coverage is akin to a tax.

“This economic mandate represents a wholly novel and potentially unbounded assertion of congressional authority: the ability to compel Americans to purchase an expensive health insurance product they have elected not to buy, and to make them repurchase that insurance product every month for their entire lives,” the majority said in its 207-page opinion.

Because it conflicts with another appeals court ruling that upheld the law, the Supreme Court is expected to take it up during its term that begins in October with a ruling possible just months before the November 2012 presidential election.

Legal experts said it was impossible to predict how the high court will rule but agreed that it may be a close vote by nine ideologically divided justices, with moderate conservative Justice Anthony Kennedy as the possible swing vote.

Justice Kagan, as Solicitor General, was one of the Architects of ObamaCare so may have to recuse herself leaving a 4-4 split with Kennedy going to be the decider.

SO you wonder what kind of Chicago tactic they will use. After all, this is the ultimate wet dream for 90 years by Liberals. It’s their baby. They’ll do ANYTHING to protect it. ANYTHING!

And they will be in the midst of a full on Nuclear Annihilation of whomever the Republican nominee is because they surely can’t run on their record so it’s all-out attack mode to infinity and beyond.

Should be a fun election. 😦

Oh, by the way, here’s some candy for the baby:

Further, the Obama administration on Friday issued new incentives for states and people to participate in health insurance exchanges, including tax credits and funding grants for the states.

Nothing like a little greasing of the skids… 🙂

One of the three judges, Stanley Marcus, dissented from the majority opinion in his own 84-page opinion.

The majority “has ignored the undeniable fact that Congress’ commerce power has grown exponentially over the past two centuries and is now generally accepted as having afforded Congress the authority to create rules regulating large areas of our national economy,” wrote Marcus, also a Clinton appointee to the appeals court.

In short, to this liberal it’s undeniable that the government has to sole power to run your life for you. (Obamacare, FTC,FCC,EPA,FDA et al).

“The individual responsibility provision — the main part of the law at issue in these cases — is constitutional,” <White House Spokesperson Stephanie> Cutter continued. “Those who claim this provision exceeds Congress’ power to regulate interstate commerce are incorrect.

Notice the Orwellian turn of phrase. The Individual MANDATE is now the Individual RESPONSIBILITY provision.

It is your individual responsibility and your duty to your fellow citizens to submit to the power of Mama Government your life and your freedom. It is your responsibility to submit.

I bet MANDATE will be a “terrorist” word in the not distant future. 🙂

“Individuals who choose to go without health insurance are making an economic decision that affects all of us — when people without insurance obtain health care they cannot pay for, those with insurance and taxpayers are often left to pick up the tab.”

And when you eat the wrong foods (fat, salt etc) or drive the wrong car, or use to much gas, electricity, or use the incorrect product or are a Tea Party “terrorist” you are hurting your fellow citizens. You vile evil thing, you must be restrained from harming the community.

Individual responsibility = communal responsibility.

We are from the Government and we are here to run your life for you to make you more responsible to your fellow citizens.

So how’s that “hope and change” working out for you?

They are More Important

You remember “Fast & Furious” don’t you?

Where the government deliberately sold 1,400+ guns to known drug cartel members and when gun owners and ATF field agents objected they made let them go to Mexico.

Then they lost them (they were supposed to be “tracking” them-at least that was there story).

Then one shows up at the scene of a Border Patrol agent being killed by drug smugglers. It’s the murder weapon.

The administration has been trying to suppress it ever since.

Well here’s an Update:

U.S. Attorney, Dennis Burke is opposing a motion routinely approved by prosecutors, that would have the family of murdered Border Patrol Agent, Brian Terry, recognized as crime victims, Fox News is reporting.

Burke claims the gun purchases made by Jamie Avila, whose purchases of guns included the one that was allegedly used to kill Terry, “is not any particular person, but society in general.”

Being recognized as crime victims, the Terry family would have been able to speak at Avila’s sentencing, as well as conferring with prosecutors.

Former U,S, Attorney in Florida, Kendall Coffey, told in a Fox News report, “The government leaders responsible for the tragic mistakes of Operation Fast and Furious have a lot of explaining to do before Congress. But at the same time, they still have a duty under federal law to give answers, to consult and extend respect to the family.

Paul Charlton, the Terry’s attorney, alludes this may be a tactic used by the federal government to possibly cover their tracks.

“The government’s already been put on notice that they might be facing a wrongful action by the family. And you have to wonder if the government’s efforts to deny the family the status of ‘crime victims’ is part of a strategy to avoid legal responsibility for some of the tragic mistakes of Operation Fast and Furious,” Charlton told The Fox News Report.

Burke also writes in the case, the family is not a crime victim because they were not “directly of proximately harmed,” by the illegal purchase of murder weapon.

They actually want to screw over the family of a dead Border Agent in order to lessen the damage from the government deliberately selling guns to known drug cartel buyers.

They are more important than you are.

Which brings me to The “Emergency” Food Tax here in Phoenix.

If there was no food tax, there would be no pay raises, DiCiccio
said. Its as simple as that. The Arizona Republic, June 14, 2011

The food tax is expected to bring in $28 million this year. Meanwhile,
city employees got $27 million in raises and bonuses this year. Now
the Phoenix City Council has tentatively approved a budget that
includes another $28.9 million in pay raises and bonuses for the
coming year. – Arizona Republic columnist Laurie Roberts, May 28, 2011

City management has admitted that they can find no documents that show
they told the City Council or public the AMOUNT of employee pay raises
until a month and a half after the budget was approved.

City Manager David Cavazos was given until noon today (Aug. 10, 2011)
to show that his staff didnt hide that information while the budget
was being formed and debated. He was unable to produce anything
showing that staff informed anyone of the pay raise amounts until
April 21, 2010. That is a month and a half after the budget was
approved and 2 1/2 months after the city imposed a 2 percent food tax
essentially equal to the amount of pay raises.

City Attorney Gary Verburg confirmed that City Manager Cavazos has no
more records to turn over nothing that supports his contention that
the Council knew the amount of the pay raises. Verburg wrote that the
documents provided to you contain whatever information the City has,
to my knowledge, relevant to your request.

During the budget process when the pay raises went unmentioned the
city said the food tax was needed or managers would have to lay off
police officers and cut back senior centers, libraries, pools, transit
routes, recreation and programs for schoolchildren.

Its taken more than a year to drag an admission out of the city that
no one was told the amount of pay raises and bonuses until long after
the budget was approved, said Councilman Sal DiCiccio, who had made
multiple requests of the city manager to produce that information.
City Manager Cavazos produced reams of documents talking about the
budget process, but he never answered the question about when the pay
raise amounts were first mentioned.

The simple question City Manager Cavazos refused to answer is:

Mr. Cavazos, when was the first time city staff told Council members
the AMOUNT of employee raises?

I challenge the press and the public to see if even today they can
get a direct and clear answer from him to that question without trying
to divert it to other issues, DiCiccio said.

Even today, he continues to dodge the question in spite of the
citys admission that no document exists prior to April 21.  Its time
for Mr. Cavazos to start leveling with the citizens of Phoenix about
budget matters rather than hiding behind a blizzard of diversion.

The April 21, 2010 document shows that the public was not told the
full amount of the pay raises until after the food tax was passed
(Feb. 2, 2010), 15 public hearings were held (February, 2010) and the
City Council voted on the budget and union contracts (March, 2010).

Phoenix faced the worst budget shortfall in history, $270 million,
closing pools, cuttings libraries and services for seniors and
schoolchildren. It still managed to give out $29 million in pay raises
and bonuses by adding a new food tax, which hurt the poor the most.

The public deserves better from the city of Phoenix.

Its one thing to refuse a councilman requested information. Its
worse to hide information from the public about how its taxes are
raised and spent. Phoenix has an obligation to provide information,
and taxpayers deserve to know how their city is being managed.

The reason this remains important to me is because a well-run Phoenix
that is citizen- and business-friendly could and should be leading the
nation out of this recession. We have great assets, including a
citizenry that truly cares about the community. We owe them honesty
and our best performance in their interest.

Thank you,
Sal DiCiccio
City of Phoenix
Councilman, District 6

So lying is now acceptable as a way to get your apparatchiks a raise when the City is facing the worst budget crisis in it’s history.

Everyone get’s a 2% hike on all their food to feed the greed of City Workers.

And you know what the liberals I have shown this to say?

“Well, they had a Union Contract they had to honor.”

Seriously…no joke.

Partisanship is that bad in this country that lying is ok if it fits in with your ideology.

Moral and ethics, honor, decency can just be chucked out the window at a seconds notice if you can find an ideological reason to support the lies.

No wonder we have young people who have no sense of right or wrong. Everything is relative….to your Political views.

And that way lies disaster.

“You’ve got to tell them you’ve had enough of the theatrics, you’ve had enough of the politics, stop sending out press releases. Start passing some bills that we all know will help the economy right now,” he said. “That’s what they need to do. They’ve got to hear from you.”–President in Michigan this week at a $35,000 a plate fundraiser (no evil “rich” people here).

That’s why he and they all went on vacation for a month! And you know he means it (not just Republicans). 😦

Is that an Iceberg I see up ahead?…
