The Human Shield

Orwell, 1984, read it. The Democrat playbook.

The Ministry of Truth (The News Media) is the propaganda ministry. As with the other Ministries in the novel, the Ministry of Truth is a misnomer and in reality serves the opposite of its purported namesake: it is responsible for any necessary falsification of historical events. In another sense, and in keeping with the concept of doublethink, the ministry is aptly named, in that it creates/manufactures “truth” in the Newspeak sense of the word. The book describes a willful fooling of posterity using doctored historical archives to show a government-approved version of events.

As well as administering truth, the ministry spreads a new language amongst the populace called Newspeak, in which, for example, “truth” is understood to mean statements like 2 + 2 = 5 when the situation warrants.

Or as the Daily Kos ( a massive Liberal website) put it less than a month ago:

For the last six months Donald Trump has led the GOP primary. All it took for him to do so was a racist rant against Mexicans. Since then he has added racist rants towards Muslims and hostility towards black people to his policy free campaign. All the while every last chickenshit ratfucking Republican has been too afraid of calling out Trump’s racism because they all want to win over his racist primary voters. It turns out libertarianism, fiscal conservativism and balanced budgets aren’t what motivates the GOP base. Racism does. Yelling at Muslims does. Trump proves this every time he opens his pie hole. Libertarianism is dead in the water in the GOP primary, just look at Rand Paul. Fiscal conservativism doesn’t get a huge crowd at rallies either. But you want to scream at brown people? There is a huuuuuge space for screaming at brown people in today’s GOP. Huuuuge.

This fucking bullshit has to stop.

The entire Republican party must be crushed at the voting booth until they drive the racists out of their party.

ALL GOP supporters are knuckle dragging neanderthal racists. Nothing more. That’s it.

And the Leftist will eat that up and The Ministry of Truth will feed it to them 24/7/365.

Who cares if it’s not the truth. They don’t care. Fear, intimidation, and self-righteousness is all they need. That and a compliant Media that won’t exposed THEM.

After all, if you elect a Republican of any kind they will take away all your freebies, your healthcare, the candy from your baby and throw grandma out on the street to eat the leftover dog shit on the sidewalk! 🙂

The Ministry of Truth is involved with news media, entertainment, the fine arts and educational books. Its purpose is to rewrite history to change the facts to fit Party doctrine for propaganda effect. For example, if Big Brother makes a prediction that turns out to be wrong, the employees of the Ministry of Truth go back and rewrite the prediction so that any prediction Big Brother previously made is accurate. This is the “how” of the Ministry of Truth’s existence. Within the novel, Orwell elaborates that the deeper reason for its existence is to maintain the illusion that the Party is absolute. It cannot ever seem to change its mind (if, for instance, they perform one of their constant changes regarding enemies during war) or make a mistake (firing an official or making a grossly misjudged supply prediction), for that would imply weakness and to maintain power the Party must seem eternally right and strong.

Minitrue plays a role as the news media by changing history, and changing the words in articles about events current and past, so that Big Brother and his government are always seen in a good light and can never do any wrong. The content is more propaganda than actual news.

Derek Hunter: It must be nice to be a Democrat. Aside from the being an idiot part. And the hating America part, the loathing the military part, the despising success part, the envy, the hatred and the anger parts too.

The fact that so many of them are mutant, economic illiterates and save a fortune on their water bills by avoiding showering aside, I’m not talking about your drum-circling, living off of mommy and daddy’s money, social justice warrior Democrat.  I’m talking about the filthy rich, suckle government power, tell everyone how to live while living exactly the opposite way type Democrat – the ones giving the orders from the Ritz; not the grunts.

The grunts have it pretty easy too, don’t get me wrong. Remember Occupy Wall Street? They were going to change the world, according to the media, and bring about a “fair” Utopia that would reinvent our economic system. All they did was defecate on police cars, contribute to the resurgence of lice and bring the heretofore-unneeded concept of “rape-free tents” into the public consciousness. They were the “North African and Middle Eastern migrants” of their time – anything awful they did was ignored by the mainstream media to avoid upsetting the narrative. The narrative is everything.

The narrative of Occupy Wall Street faded because it didn’t catch on. In spite of the media’s help, the American people simply couldn’t be manipulated into believing they had less because someone else had more. The trust fund troubadours of Zuccotti Park, even with all their bongo playing and poetry slams, could not turn the have-somes against the have-mores. The world simply moved on.

The world would have moved on much sooner, or never have noticed in the first place, were it not for a media as interested in the agenda of the privileged poster-board-and-Sharpie set’s “economic justice” agenda as they are in adding another zero to their salary in their next contract negotiation.

In 2011, I broke the story of how “occupiers” discouraged the reporting of sexual assaults in their camps because reporting them would not reflect well on the movement. It was a story that got some attention, but it quickly faded. Not because it wasn’t newsworthy, but because it was.

The truth about the behavior of people in the “Occupy” camps across the country was appalling, but the “message” of economic inequality they were supposedly representing was precisely what progressive leftists wanted. What’s a few broken souls compared to the greater good?

In ways unthinkable to normal people, leftists use and dispose of people like smartphones – and there’s always another where that one came from.

That’s the mentality that has allowed Bill and Hillary Clinton to succeed as they have. The trail of broken souls, bloodied lives and discarded women are a small price to pay for the greater glory. Only, in the case of the Clintons, as is always the case with the Clintons, the only real glory is theirs.

The media spent this week protecting Bill and Hillary from the actions of Bill and Hillary. And they were happy to do it.

The re-emergence of Bill’s women, both willing and unwilling, is being ignored by the media and being spun when they can’t ignore it.

With Juanita Broaddrick’s courageous return to the national scene, reporters are presented a choice: treating her how they’ve demanded all who claim to be victims of sexual assault should be treated, or ignoring her to protect the narrative of the Clintons being champions for women. Naturally they chose the latter. Progressives are progressives first and always.

Don’t get me wrong. I believe Bill is a misogynist, but not in the traditional sense. He trusts some women. He supports women. He’d do anything to help some women. But the rest he sees as non-entities existing for his pleasure and amusement.

Being a governor, attorney general and president afforded Bill the opportunity to appoint women to positions of importance and authority, and he did just that. The other women, those he didn’t view as equals worthy of admiration, he used as he saw fit.

Believe it or not, in the ‘70s, ‘80s and ‘90s, this flew in politics. As long as the women could be kept silent and you “didn’t embarrass your wife,” by “screwing around, playing grab-ass” with someone who was uninterested, it was just part of another day that ends in “y” for politicians. But it’s not that way anymore.

The media just finished obsessing over a woman who carried a mattress around campus to draw attention to her unsubstantiated claim of rape, then ignored her making a re-enactment porn video. Rolling Stone published an outrageous and ultimately false charge of a gang rape because it was such a good story that whether it was true had to be ignored.

Yet a woman has believably claimed for almost two decades she was raped by Bill Clinton, and the very same media asks the accused and his presidential candidate wife if they think the subject is fair game. They weren’t made to answer the specifics – Bill’s lawyer dismissed the allegation with a couple of sentences in the ‘90s and, aside from the reiteration of that dismissal, has never spoken of it again. Because he’s never been asked.

By asking if Bill’s past if fair game, the media can pretend they aren’t ignoring the story. But that’s exactly what they’re doing.

They focus on Monica Lewinsky and Gennifer Flowers, lumping them in with Paula Jones, Kathleen Willey and Broaddrick like they are all the same. They are not.

Lewinsky and Flowers were willing and active participants in affairs with Bill; the others were unwilling victims of a man who’d been getting away with it for so long he had no reason to believe he couldn’t with them. And he did.

After swearing he was innocent and would never settle, Bill paid Jones $850,000. Willey got nothing because she didn’t sue. Broddrick is still haunted by what happened to her. And Bill and Hillary are marching right over all of them, and untold others, right back toward the White House.

This wouldn’t be possible with an honest media.

Herman Cain was driven from the 2012 race by accusations that look like a schoolyard prank compared to what the Clintons are accused of and have done. What happened to those sexual harassment charges? After Cain left the race, they appear to have left the planet.

The media was extremely interested in old allegations just four years ago; now they seek permission even to ask if they can talk about them. The only things that have changed is the seriousness of the allegation – they’ve gotten much more so – and the target of them.

Rather than ask the tough question and demand real answers, TV news presenters (because it’s rude to actual journalists to use the same term to describe them) now talk amongst themselves about whether claims against Bill should be relevant when it’s Hillary who’s running.

Considering the fact she lists being First Lady as one of her top qualifications for the job, in addition to him campaigning for her while she awards herself the mantle of “Champion for Women’s Rights,” she also led the campaign to protect Bill from “bimbo eruptions” in 1992. Hardly the act of a put-upon women who was wronged by her husband, especially when we now know she knew most of the women she smeared to protect the Clinton machine were telling the truth.

Meanwhile, the New York Times regales us with nearly tales of Marco Rubio’s wife’s driving record, and we’ve just spent a week discussing whether a child born to an American woman is a “natural born citizen.”

So are spouses fair game? You’re damn right they are.

There are more than 40 million voters this year who weren’t registered, or even alive, the last time a Clinton’s name appeared on a national ballot. They know about Monica, and they may have heard some of the other names. But they do not know the stories. They need to be educated. Sadly the media is too busy forming a human shield around the Clintons to bother asking the relevant and important questions.

But we’re all racists, bigots, and misogynists according to The Ministry of Truth and The Left.

We are Satan.

And so it goes

And that’s the way it is … 🙂

Education Down

The Liberals in California have effectively done away with Education, they just don’t know it yet. They were too busy with their touchy-feely feel good equality to notice.

SB 172, Liu. Pupil testing: high school exit examination: suspension.

This bill would suspend the administration of the high school exit examination and would remove the high school exit examination as a condition of receiving a diploma of graduation or a condition of graduation from high school for each pupil completing grade 12, for the 2015–16, 2016–17, and 2017–18 school years. The bill would, until July 31, 2018, require the governing board or body of a local educational agency, as defined, and the State Department of Education on behalf of state special schools, to grant a diploma of graduation from high school to any pupil who completed grade 12 in the 2003–04 school year or a subsequent school year and has met all applicable graduation requirements other than the passage of the high school exit examination.

Regardless of any performance or no performance at all, you get a HS Diploma no matter what.

So doesn’t that make Education and Teachers superfluous?

If they get it no matter what what incentive is their to even study, to learn, ANYTHING?

What incentive is their to teach anything if no matter what they get the Diploma anyhow?

And further more, if you flunked out in the last 11 years (back to 2004), you retroactive get it anyways.

So go forth you ignorant masses and collect your $15/hr job (“that is only fair”), your free college tuition, your free phone, cable. Who cares!

The “rich” will pay for it all and you don’t have to do anything to earn it!

As the late Chicago columnist Mike Royko said as far back as 1979, “If it babbles and its eyeballs are glazed, it probably comes from California.”

The Granola State, what isn’t fruits & Nuts is flakes!

high school students will no longer have to actually pass high school to receive a diploma. This takes the participation trophy concept to a new disgusting low.

Just show up and you win. Eventually, they’ll figure out they don’t even need to show up because if it’s guaranteed regardless why bother.

THe irony of them holding the ultimate winner-and-loser game this coming year, The Super Bowl, is just just that, lost on them. In their fervent hate of competition and “winner and losers” they have created the ultimate destruction but it “feels good”.

Nothing could epitomize Liberalism better.

Sen. Carol Liu, D-La Cañada Flintridge, who authored the bill, initially introduced the bill because the exit exam is not aligned with new Common Core standards.

Meaning they were failing even the Obama Administrations own handpicked “standards” so in true Liberal fashion they just threw the baby out with the bat water!

It was later amended to remove the exit exam as a requirement for graduation for students who still hadn’t passed because they no longer had an opportunity to take the test.

The poor dears. 🙂 It’s so unfair!

How can businesses properly evaluate prospective employees when “high school diploma” is required if it is essentially meaningless? Who does this actually help? Certainly not the students who “graduated” without mastering any basic skills.

Well, Corporate America is the spawn of the Devil anyways, isn’t it? Full of greedy, misogynistic, bigoted, white people!!

Everyone should make at least $30,000 a year no matter what! Life must be fair for everyone, right? 🙂

But you can bet there will be a ginormous outcry when companies looking for entry-level employees start requiring application exams to determine if candidates can actually read and write beyond the 8th grade level.

That’s discrimination, and probably racism, me old son. That’s just not “fair”.

So why stop at high school diplomas? Who needs a college degree? Why require physicians, accountants and lawyers to take exams to prove their knowledge? Or is California simply admitting its public education system is so worthless that a diploma from one of its high schools is as well?

Well, a huge number of kids graduate who can’t read the damn thing right now anyhow.

It is terribly disheartening to see this nation, step by step, lose all appreciation for achievement and excellence.(alan west)

But it’s only “fair” and it make everyone “feel good”. Competition is bad. Excellence is too hard and too unfair.

Veronica Steele, a 27-year-old who received a certificate of completion from Rio Linda High, which is near Sacramento, said she was also excited after learning she will now be able to get her diploma and pursue a career as a veterinary technician. Failing the exam and not graduating, she said, negatively affected her.

“It shot my confidence,” she said. “I lost complete self esteem because of that test and now that I’m going to get my diploma, it feels like a weight’s being lifted off my shoulder.” (edsource)

Thank you, Governor Moonbeam for making my dreams come true! 🙂

nothing. The test is hardly complex. The math test, for instance, only covers 8th grade-level material and can be passed if students answer 55 percent of questions correctly. About 80 percent of California high schoolers take and pass it on their first try while in the 10th grade, and overall passage rates for the class of 2014 were above 97 percent.

But poor Veronica has been saved from a life of humiliation and self-destruction where she could pass a test with an E but now doesn’t have to.

That’s the kind of Vet Tech I want working on animals! 🙂

And don’t aspire to greater things because it requires a State License and that’s another evil test you might fail and suffer crushing self-esteem issues…

CARVTA: To be eligible to take the RVT (Registered Veterinary Tech) licensing examination, a candidate must meet the requirements of one of three eligibility categories:  (for now) 🙂  It’s so unfair and unequal!

  • 1. Graduate from, at minimum, a two-year curriculum in veterinary technology in a college or other post-secondary institution approved by the California Veterinary Medical Board (VMB). (Generally an AVMA approved school) or complete a program or curriculum that has been deemed “equivalent” to a two-year approved program by the VMB (California approved school). *  (even if you have a HS Diploma regardless 🙂 )
  • 4. Licensed, certified or registered as an RVT in another state (or in Canada) and have taken an examination determined by the VMB to be equivalent to the California RVT examination and have at least 4416 hours of directed clinical practice in no less than 24 months under the direct supervision of a licensed veterinarian. *  (and I bet it takes more than 55%!! to pass!)
  • 5. Complete a combination of at least 4416 hours of directed clinical practice in no less than 24 months under the direct supervision of a California-licensed veterinarian and 300 hours (or 20 semester or 30 quarter units) of specific education. (This is the Alternate Route). **

Other Requirements for Licensure

In addition to meeting the requirements of one of the above eligibility categories, candidates must be:
1. At least 18 years of age
2. Fingerprinted (live scan) prior to licensure
3. Free of convictions for crimes substantially related to the practice and duties of an RVT. (Anyone who has any convictions should contact the VMB to be sure they will be eligible.)

So no #BlackLives Matter convictions, DUI, riots, etc bec a good little liberal robot… 🙂

We would never have become the most powerful nation on earth without demanding high standards from ourselves, our countryman and our leaders. But clearly it no longer matters. Lying and criminal behavior no longer disqualify anyone from the presidency, so who cares about something as trivial as high school diploma?

If you don’t believe this is just the tip of the moral decline iceberg, here’s another disturbing law just passed:

AB 329: Makes participation in sex education courses mandatory for students unless parents opt-out, would also inculcate the teaching of a fluid gender identity

“Fluid gender?” I suppose that’s separate to the “gender fluids” discussed in the sex education course. Sorry. Couldn’t help myself.

AB 359: Forces stores to keep employees for at least 90 days so they cannot be fired as a result of buyouts or mergers;

Because that’s just not “fair” and the greedy corporate bosses…I mean really… 🙂

AB 1014: Will permit family members to obtain a restraining order to keep relatives who might commit gun violence from owning a gun;

I am trying to find the humor in all of this because it’s all so terribly sad. (Michelle Hickford)

Who needs to do anything but sit back, enjoy life and let the government take care of you, you ignorant Matrix-style moron. They just hand you everything you need so why strive for anything better. It’s too “unfair” and too “hard” so why bother.

Just vote for us to take it from those greedy others. They can’t object without being bigots, racists or intolerant anyways. 🙂

About 249,000 students, or 6 percent of test-takers, could not pass the test before the end of their senior year since it became a graduation requirement for the class of 2006. It’s unclear how many of these students did not receive diplomas only because they failed the test, and how many wouldn’t have graduated anyway because they also lacked enough credits, or did not meet grade requirements.

The new law also calls for the state to suspend the exit exam in the 2015-16, 2016-17 and 2017-18 school years and to eliminate it as a graduation requirement during that time. Meanwhile, lawmakers and educators will determine if the state should create a new version of the test that’s aligned with the Common Core State Standards, or eliminate it altogether as a graduation requirement in the future. (edsource)

So by 2018 when Governor MoonBeam is up for re-election…. 🙂

It’s just so unfair. 🙂

Giveth X and Taketh Away

John Ransom:

Swift Boat Captn wrote: And things were so great before Obama took over. Let’s go back to the Chimp’s economy that he started by turning surpluses into deficits then finished by losing 800,000 jobs per month and Wall Street on the brink of extinction. – This Won’t End End Well: Obama Giveth X and Taketh Away 7.6 Percent More

Sounds like a LOT of liberals I run across. Mindless, disrespectful, and full of their own childish narcissism.

Dear Comrade Kerry,

In February 2007, when the terrible, evil George W. Bush was president, there were 2,427,000 more jobs than there are today.

In February 2007, when the terrible, evil George W. Bush was president, there were 5,167,000 fewer unemployed.

There’s more money in the system, going to fewer people than ever before.

The average American can’t afford to buy a new car now. Thanks GM/Obama.

The average American is watching as home prices climb for rich Americans, but stagnate for everyone else.

Top tier homes are selling- and have been selling since Obama became pope- outpacing middle tier and lower tier homes.

The rest of us have to make due with home prices that equal those seen in 1894…That’s 1894…not, 1994.

“Whether real or manufactured by record-low foreclosures, bank supply withdrawals, and fed-subsidized cash REO-to-rent trades,” writes Tyler Durden at Zero Hedge, “the sad truth is that jobs (and the GDP-enhancing multiplier effect that they create) are just not coming. Even Bob Shiller prefers the potential for 4% gains in stocks over housing risk in the medium-term as he points out that – inflation-adjusted – house prices are back at levels first seen in 1894… now that is a long-term investor. “

And just because the Dow’s making new highs, you think everything is wonderful. What happened to Occupy Wall Street?

This is a system that was deliberately crafted by your buddy BHO.

Congrats Comrade Kerry!

You’re right: In America, you in particular, have a right to be stupid.

With Democrats it’s an absolute must. Your brain is not allowed to question the Doublespeak BS coming out of your mouth.

The others are silly too, but they are more than just silly; they are deceptive. And they mean to be deceptive too.

Let’s look at the unemployment claims for example.

The real story there is that the trend for unemployment claims is dropping over a longer period of time.

“First-time jobless claims unexpectedly fell by 7,000 to 340,000,” reports Bloomberg “in the week ended March 2, the lowest since the period ended Jan. 19, according to data today from the Labor Department in Washington. The median forecast of 50 economists surveyed by Bloomberg called for an increase to 355,000. The four-week average dropped to a five-year low.”

Now that’s a good story.

Jobless claims are now on par with the worst of the Bush administration!

Congrats Mr. Obama.

But that’s not all that he’s accomplished.

The sudden, Fed-induced lunge in stock prices and home prices has restored the wealth of the national household back to levels not seen since 2007.

“Surging stock prices and steady home-price increases have finally allowed Americans to regain the $16 trillion in wealth they lost to the Great Recession,” reports CNBC. “The gains are helping support the economy and could lead to further spending and growth.”

And just in time too.

At a time when tax hikes, oil prices and stagnant wages are eating up families, more and more families are dipping into savings in order to pay the bills…just like the federal government is doing.

According to Zero Hedge, American household debt has actually gone down since the last time the stock market was at these levels.  In 2007, total household debt was $13.5 trillion, while today it stands at $12.87 trillion, says ZH’s Tyler Durden.  Households, it seems, have been able to accomplish what the government can’t do namely: Cut debt as household revenues stagnate.

That’s good, because Americans are saving less and dipping into assets like 401(k)s and home equity in order to keep up with the government tax and spending jones.

“A new national study shows that too many of us are cashing out 401(k) accounts to pay bills,” reports a CBS News local affiliate in Pennsylvania. “If that retirement account is calling your name, a financial expert advises you to stop listening.”

The reason why families are dipping into retirement savings is because Obama’s tax hikes have wiped out any gains that they’ve made on the wage front.

“The good news,” says the Washington Post, “Many Americans saw their paychecks get fatter in 2012, as average weekly earnings rose 2.4 percent over the course of the year. The bad news: The expiration of the payroll tax cut this January will basically wipe away all of last year’s gains.”

The Post goes on to explain that the payroll tax hike “could” hurt the economy in 2013 because consumers will have less to spend.  What the Post didn’t reckon on, however, was that households would mimic Big Brother and just borrow from Peter to pay…um…Pelosi?

From Daily Finance.com:

Americans saw their income drop so dramatically in January that it marked the deepest one-month decline in 20 years. Personal income decreased by $505.5 billion in January, or 3.6%, compared to December (on a seasonally adjusted and annualized basis). That’s the most dramatic decline since January 1993, according to the Commerce Department.

Yet still, consumer spending on the whole was not much affected.

Spending still increased although the increase wasn’t very fat.

And where, pray tell, did the magical money come from?

…consumers are benefiting from a housing recovery and rising stock prices….

They’re not able to save much, though. On average, people saved about 2.4% of their disposable income in January, down from 6.4% in December. That marks the smallest saving rate since November 2007.

So 3.6 percent wage decrease plus 4 percent less savings…carry the two, divide the whole number…is… 7.6 percent less for you!

Now this is all so clear: So the Fed is printing money, which drives household wealth up, so that the government can raise taxes, so that families spend a little more and save a whole lot less, while wages go down and household debt starts to climb back up.

Now all we need for this genius plan to work out is for housing prices and the stock market to continue to climb forever, so that the government budget can always ask for a more of your wages in either taxes or borrowing even at a time when wages are shrinking the fastest in 20 years!

A one-month high!

Oh, and, this time it’s totally different.

This won’t end well a lot quicker than it did last time.

As Mark Twain once observed of his misshapen theatrical production Ah Sin:

When this play was originally completed it was so long, and so wide and so deep–in places–and so comprehensive that it would have taken two weeks to play it…. [B]ut the manager said no, that wouldn’t do; to play two weeks was sure to get us into trouble with the Government, because the Constitution of the United States says you sha’n’t inflict cruel and unusual punishments. So he set to work to cut it down….I never saw a play improve as this one did. The more he cut out of it the better it got right along. He cut out, and cut out, and cut out; and I do believe this would be one of the best plays in the world to-day if his strength had held out, and he could have gone on and cut out the rest of it.

If Congress just had just half of the strength of that theater manager, I’d feel less cruel and unusual toward the government.

Half of sequester is aimed at money that is an increase in spending over what we are spending today rather than true cuts.

But then you’ll have all the gored ox’s screaming that Grandam was going to dy in the street and children will starve to death and dirty dirty water and breath nothing but dirty air, ad nauseum. The Apocalypse will be upon us all!

Government does not invest; it spends.

Government does not say, “Let’s take a trillion dollars and make it turn into five trillion dollars worth of value.” If they did, you wouldn’t have guys like Obama making the case that tax rates should go up based on “fairness,” while admitting that higher tax rates will lower government revenue.

That would be like a computer company arguing that, yes, profits will go down on computer sales, but prices must be lowered based on “fairness.” Government instead says, “Let’s spend a trillion dollars on highways, because construction contractors need the work and that money will come back from construction contractors to fund political campaigns.”

The return on capital to the overall economy is both incidental and accidental when government spends money.

And boy do Politician love to spend! Bribes don’t come cheap. 🙂

A government that controls your mortgage, your student loan, your car loan, your retirement savings, your healthcare, your right to own property and to defend your liberties- with a gun if necessary- is a government that owns your liberty and just rents it back to you for a while at election time.

Vote for Me, the Other Guy’s an Asshole! Or in the case of Queen Hillary, ignore everything that has ever happened prior to election day 2016 and just vote for the First Female President ever…Voting for the First Black because he was Black worked out so well! 🙂

Evidence for the Persecution

Read the following and you don’t see the REAL problem with the Leftist Progressive narrative maybe you are one. 🙂

Image from the Facebook page "I AM THE TEAPARTY!"

Here’s how the economy works, at least according to the people who are ignorant enough to actually believe something posted from a page like this one. Apparently, the president doesn’t get to take credit for the economy unless he’s a Republican and that’s only if the economy is doing well. If it’s doing poorly, then it’s the fault of the last Democrat. However, if the president is a Democrat, then it’s the exact opposite and the recession that happened under Bush is somehow President Obama’s fault. The economy is also allegedly a failure because some people in their 20s and 30s are living at home and that’s totally not the fault of the companies pulling in record profits but refusing to hire workers or pay decently, despite their firm belief in trickle-down economics. Trust me, writing that train of logic was hard for me and I can imagine it was just as hard for you to read.

And reading that liberal screed described as “logic” is making MY head hurt!

But I suppose trickle-down poverty is a better solution. 🙂

Image from the Facebook page "I AM THE TEAPARTY!"

This list is so utterly ridiculous that I don’t even know where to start. Last time I checked, it was Republicans who were trying crush free speech and free expression.

Yeah, the Republican are The Politically Correct Thought Police who waant to boycot Hobby Lobby and Chick-Fil-A and they routinely go around to Christian businesses and harrass, sue , and harrangue them in the name of “Civil rights”. 🙂

Are you starting to see the problem yet?

Remember Occupy Wall Street and how they cheered for that California cop who casually pepper sprayed students in the face?

Remember the Tea Party when Leftist assaulted people and blamed it ON THE TEA PARTY? Remember the little cherubs of Occupy Wall Street who made Zuccoti Park look like a war zone? No, I’m sure they don’t.

Religious freedom? Seriously? Newsflash, just because you can’t force your religious beliefs on other people doesn’t mean you are being persecuted.

Yeah, having your business fined or ruined because they won’t kow-tow to the Progressive Liberal Gays is not persecution… 🙂

Privacy? Ok, that’s an issue for both parties, so if you’re a Republican don’t pretend like you’re innocent. 2nd Amendment? Again, regulations don’t equal confiscation. Private property? Ok, this has to be a joke. Republicans oppose pretty much everything on here, especially stopping corporate welfare. Then again, if you’re delusional enough to subscribe to that page, you probably still think President Obama is going to come for your guns any day now. (forwardprogressive.com)

Not quite. You’ll need it when his IRS and his drones come for you, Citizen. 🙂

Now do you see the delusions you face when dealing with a Liberal?

I’m waiting for the attack in Ottawa to be

a) “workplace violence”

b) “racist” to talk about it.

After all, doesn’t everything on then Left these boil down to a combo of these?

The Genius of The Left

Who is going to pay for your house, car, dental care, health care, education, who pays for that?” Sean Hannity asked after his guest said all of these should be free. Occupy Wall Street Organizer Harrison Schultz replied, “Nobody! It’s free.”
Economic Genius!! The Next Nobel Prize for Economics folks! 🙂

The Perpetual Wealth Machine, it produces wealth without any production cost at all. It produces all from nothing!

Amazing! Maybe we can give him a Nobel Peace Prize, Like Obama, for solving the entire economic inequality equation.

Then the revelation that all the violence, drunkeness, and rapes in Zucotti Park last year were because the NYPD planted drunks, criminals and rapists there.

Wow!

FOOD POLICE

Some parents are calling school officials in Colorado “food Nazis” after they announced a ban on all sweets, including cupcakes, candy bars and even birthday cakes – unless the cakes are made with district-approved recipes.

School officials in Greeley, CO advised parents that new federal guidelines require all food served on grade school campuses to adhere to strict calorie counts.

“Fundraisers held at school are no longer allowed to include food items of any kind,” said Jenna Raymond, of the District 6 Nutrition Dept. “Rewards for children are to include gifts such as erasers and pencils.”

The Greeley County School district is even banning sweets at off-campus fundraisers.

“The only food items allowed to be sold for these types of fundraisers are those that meet the nutritional guidelines,” she told the Greeley Gazette.

That means no more sweet treats like cake at birthday parties or class holiday parties – unless the cake is made with a recipe approved by the school district.

“We have a recipe we use in the district that uses black beans and the kids love it,” Raymond told the newspaper.

“They’re dictating what I can send with my child for lunch – what I can give them for a treat at a school party,” she said. “I don’t believe that’s right. It’s my child. I should be able to feed them whatever I want. They’re not raising my child. They’re not paying for their orthodontic bills. They’re not tucking them in at night telling them they love them. But yet they’re telling me what I can and can’t feed my child?”

She said school officials are acting like “food Nazis.”

“This is how it starts,” she said. “The government is sticking their nose where they don’t exactly belong.”

“What are they going to start doing – checking every water bottle they bring in to make sure it’s not pop?” (FOX)

Maybe they can hire the TSA to check for “contraband”. What’s a little x-ray or a pat down when it’s about children’s health! 🙂
“It’s for the children”.
So was The Witch’s oven in “Hansel & Gretel” 🙂

And will the Adults follow the same guidelines. Of Course Not! That would be silly.

Don’t Do as I do, Do as I Say. And we are far better at running your life for you.

AL-Qaida endorses Ministry of Truth

Al-Qaida spokesman Adam Gadahn: Osama bin Laden pondered the merits of US television news channels as he considered how to extract the best propaganda benefit from the tenth anniversary of 9/11 last year, and concluded that CBS was “close to being unbiased”. (But he got killed first).

MSNBC as questionable after it fired one of its most prominent presenters, Keith Olbermann.

“I used to think that MSNBC channel may be good and neutral a bit, but is has lately fired two of the most famous journalists – Keith Olbermann” wrote Gadahn.

Gadhan describes ABC as “all right”:”Actually it could be one of the best channels, as far as we are concerned. It is interested in al-Qaida issues, particularly the journalist Brian Ross, who is specialised in terrorism. The channel is still proud for its interview with the shaykh (Bin Laden),” he said. “CBS channel was mentioned by the shaykh. I see that it is like the other channels, but it has a famous programme (60 Minutes) that has some popularity and a good reputation for its long broadcasting time.

“In general, and no matter what material we send, I suggest that we should distribute it to more than one channel, so that there will be healthy competition between the channels in broadcasting the material, so that no other channel takes the lead. It should be sent for example to ABC, CBS, NBC, and CNN and maybe PBS and VOA. As for Fox News, let her die in her anger.” (UK Guardian)

PELOSI FOR HER STATE’S RIGHT TO TOKE!

Reacting to an ongoing crackdown on medical marijuana facilities in California, Pelosi said in a Wednesday statement, “I have strong concerns about the recent actions by the federal government that threaten the safe access of medicinal marijuana to alleviate the suffering of patients in California.”

The California Democrat said that medical marijuana is “both a medical and a states’ rights issue.”

Pelosi’s call for the federal government to respect the policy decisions of individual states contrasts with a brief filed with the Supreme Court in opposition to Arizona’s anti-illegal immigration law known as SB 1070. In the brief, Pelosi and other House Democrats argued that “Arizona impermissibly seeks to substitute its judgment and its priorities for those of Congress.”

“[E]ach of the disputed provisions of S.B. 1070 directly conflicts with the enactments and intent of Congress on vital issues of national interest,” the Democratic congressmen added. “As such, these provisions are preempted by federal law and therefore invalid.”

Amazing how IMBY (In MY back Yard) makes a difference. But she can imperiously pontificate about other people’s back yards.

ObamaCare, EPA, IRS, TSA…

Don’t Do As  I Do , Do as I Say!

Remember when Nancy Pelosi brought “poor,” (she’s rich) “23-year-old” (she’s 30) Georgetown Law student (she is also a feminist activist who specifically went to Georgetown, a Catholic University, with a goal of forcing the school to cover and pay for birth control despite moral opposition to doing so) Sandra Fluk before Congress to ask you to pay for her birth control because it was costing $3000 a year? And remember when Pelosi accused conservatives of waging a war on women because they didn’t want to pay for Fluke’s contraception and Pelosi then claimed Republicans wanted to strip all funding from women’s health programs? The Washington Post fact checker is crying fowl and asks “A GOP ‘assault’ on women’s health?” Yeah, not so much.

Here is Pelosi’s original statement:

“In order to pay for it, [House Republicans] are going to make an assault on women’s health, make another assault on women’s health, continue our assault on women’s health and pay for this with prevention initiatives that are in effect right now for childhood immunization; for screening for breast cancer, for cervical cancer; and for initiatives to reduce birth defects – a large part of what the Center for Disease Control does in terms of prevention.”

And here is WaPo’s analysis:

From Pelosi’s statement, one could imagine a wholesale “assault” to strip funding for women’s health programs. But in fact, there are virtually no specific programs aimed at women currently in the fund. In the future, the administration hopes to add such programs, but that is not the reality today, as evidenced by the fact the administration never raised this concern last year when the GOP-led House also voted to kill the preventive health care fund.

Pelosi could have raised concerns about perceived cuts in preventive health. She could have also noted that women benefit greatly from such efforts. But she — and fellow Democrats — went too far to label this “an assault on women’s health.” Maybe evidence of that will emerge through the regular appropriations process—at which point we could revisit this ruling — but for the moment this smacks of political opportunism.

The fascinating Genius of The Left folks. Bask in the “Superiority”.

Togetherness

“America’s not just looking out for yourself, it’s not just about greed, it’s not just about trying to climb to the very top and keep everybody else down,” (say the guy who has had 100 fundraisers since declaring his re-election bid – Twice as many as the Evil Bush did in 2004) Obama said at the UAW’s annual National Community Action Program Legislative Conference in Washington, D.C.

Instead, Obama – who climbed to the very top of American politics just three years ago – said that instead America was about being “all in it together,” and giving people “a hand up.”

“When our assembly lines grind to a halt, we work together, and we get them going again,” he said. “When somebody else falters, we try to give them a hand up, because we know [that] we’re all in it together.”

So when the UAW goes on strike because they just wanna screw GM (and the others) for more money it’s not about “greed” it’s about “being together”.

So in 1976, when the UAW in Michigan (where I grew up) went on strike because they were only making $28/hr back then and stay out  until they got paid even more, it wasn’t about “greed” and power. It was about “togetherness”. 🙂

Obama also attacked critics of his bailout policies who say that saving failed companies does not reflect traditional American values.

Bailing out The UAW (in the guise of GM who now has a Obama kiss ass for a boss – “Jobs Czar” Jeffrey Imhelt – who is not an evil rich Corporate CEO even though GM paid no taxes in the US last year) was essential to his “togetherness”.

Bailing out the Big Banks with their evil rich CEOs that the left hates was “togetherness”.

Solyndra , Abound Solar, Light Squared and other “green” companies being given almost a Trillion in government grants only to go belly up a year later is “togetherness” not agenda politics.

The Over 8% unemployment for MORE THAN 3 years is an “improving economy” that we all shared in.

And 3 different Obama Administration have said unemployment is a “stimulus” for the economy so all those people out of work are all in it “together”.

“I keep on hearing these same folks talk about values all the time. You want to talk about values? Hard work, that’s a value. (just don’t work TOO HARD or you’ll be “greedy” and “rich” and thus an evil SOB- unless you’re donating $38,500 a person to Obama’s Re-election campaign that is) Looking out for one another, that’s a value. The idea that we’re all in it together and [that] I’m my brother’s keeper and [my] sister’s keeper, that’s a value,” Obama declared.

Yes, Comrade, it is a value. 🙂

Wall Streeters are evil according to the left’s favorite sons- The Occupoopers. But when the Dow (aka Wall Street) hits 13,000 and the “rich” on Wall Street get richer that’s a good thing for everyone and not a massive hypocrisy and double standard for your Class Warfare rhetoric.

Forget the modest 3.1 percent rise in the Consumer Price Index, the government’s widely used measure of inflation. Everyday prices are up some 8 percent over the past year, according to the American Institute for Economic Research.

Forget the $4 and $5 gas prices that made the Democrats scream Armageddon is coming when Bush was President. Now, we share in the knowledge that it’s not the President’s fault when he’s a Democrat. 🙂

And saying no to virtually everything else other than Solyndra and it’s kin, including the Keystone XL pipeline and the degree of oil independence and jobs it would have brought is a shared sacrifice to environmentalist fringe “good”.

Motor fuel and transportation costs are up 21.06 percent from year-ago levels. The cost of food, prescription drugs, and tobacco also have increased faster than the government’s inflation measure, rising 3.56 percent, 4.21 percent, and 3.4 percent, respectively.

On the bright side, prices of household fuel (natural gas and electricity) and supplies have increased only 2.74 percent; recreation and personal care products are up less than 1 percent; and telephone or Internet services are down 0.66 percent.

Just one month from today, Japan will lower their corporate income tax rate from 39.5 to 35 percent . When they do so, the United States will officially have the dubious distinction of possessing the highest corporate income tax rate in the developed world, a federal/state integrated rate of 39.2 percent.

To put that in perspective, the average in the developed world is only 25 percent. Our six major trading partners–Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Japan, Germany, and France–will all have a lower rate than we will have. As a result, capital and jobs will continue to flow overseas, rather than staying here to create jobs, increase wages, fund pensions, invest in new business, or grow nest eggs.

President Obama last month proposed a plan to raise net taxes, but in the process lower the U.S. corporate rate to about 32 percent. That simply isn’t worth it. In exchange for a jobs-killing net tax hike, the Obama plan would still leave us with a tax rate higher than the OECD average, and higher than all our major trading partners except Japan and France.(KFYI)

So the Federal government isn’t “greedy” (wanting higher taxes than anyone) they just want everyone to suffer TOGETHER. 🙂

And ObamaCare:

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius told a House panel Thursday that a reduction in the number of human beings born in the United States will compensate employers and insurers for the cost of complying with  the new HHS mandate that will require all health-care plans to cover sterilizations and all FDA-approved contraceptives, including those that cause abortions.

“The reduction in the number of pregnancies compensates for the cost of contraception,” Sebelius said. She went on to say the estimated cost is “down not up.”

So to keep costs down, stop having babies!!

During the subcommittee hearing, Rep. Tim Murphy (R-Pa.) said that contraception provided by insurance companies to people employed by religious organizations under the future form of the rule Sebelius described would not be was not free.

“Who pays for it? There’s no such thing as a free service,” Murphy asked.

Sebelius responded that that is not the case with insurance.

“The reduction in the number of pregnancies compensates for cost of contraception,” Sebelius answered.

Murphy expressed surprise by the answer.

“So you are saying, by not having babies born, we are going to save money on health care?” Murphy asked.

Sebelius replied, “Providing contraception is a critical preventive health benefit for women and for their children.”

Murphy again sought clarification.

“Not having babies born is a critical benefit. This is absolutely amazing to me. I yield back,” he said.

Sebelius responded, “Family planning is a critical health benefit in this country, according to the Institute of Medicine.”

Rep. Brett Guthrie (R-Ky.), a member of the subcommittee, said after the hearing that if mandating contraception saves money there shouldn’t be a need for a mandate.

“Their argument is this: Health insurance companies will offer it for free because they make money. You reduce the number of people getting pregnant therefore you reduce the cost of pregnancy, or low birth weight pregnancies or other kind of pregnancies,” Guthrie told CNSNews.com.

“If you think about it, why don’t health insurance companies provide it now if the argument is health insurance companies are going to make a lot of money? If the health insurance companies were really acting in their own best interest, they would be giving these pills out for free, if it really saved money,” Guthrie added.

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said on Nov. 14, 2011 that $1 billion in health care grants were a way of ‘sparking’ the U.S. economy.

So to keep costs down, stop having kids! (thus having less people to take over from you and to pork you when you get old and demand your “free” ObamaCare).

Anyone see the problem??

Returning to bully business as usual, the Obama campaign launched a brazen salvo against two prominent conservative critics and their legions of private citizen donors.

Let’s be clear (to use Obama’s favorite phrase): This is not just the politics of personal destruction. It’s a vendetta of campaign finance destruction. Under the guise of “disclosure,” Team Obama is exploiting the power of high government office to intimidate lawful, peaceful contributors who support limited-government causes.

In a scathing fundraising e-mail appeal, Obama campaign manager Jim Messina name-checked wealthy free-market philanthropists Charles and David Koch — along with a growing movement of grassroots conservatives who have freely, voluntarily and legally given money to the Koch-founded nonprofit activist group Americans for Prosperity and its sister foundation. As a speaker at several AFP events over the past three years, I’ve met thousands of like-minded, hardworking Americans who support their work at the local, state and federal levels.

“When you attempt to drown out (Americans’) voices through unlimited, secret contributions to pursue a special-interest agenda that conflicts with what’s best for our nation, you must expect some scrutiny of your actions,” Messina railed. (Unlike the Ministry of Truth and his 100+ fundraisers) The threat of scrutiny was backed by Obama himself, whose official campaign Twitter account directed 12 million-plus followers this week to “add your name to demand that the Koch brothers make their donors public.”

But Obama’s own former top officials run a so-called super PAC (Priorities USA) that also maintains nonprofit status and subsidizes advocacy ads while protecting its donor base. The White House, of course, is mum on the unlimited, secret contributions that Obama is now encouraging wealthy liberals and lobbyists to make in pursuit of his own special-interest agenda — i.e., re-election.

The president’s flapping lips are also sealed when it comes to applying his disclosure standards to the shadowy, George Soros-backed Center for American Progress, which has supplied the Obama administration with countless top policy staffers, including special Department of Health and Human Services assistant Michael Halle and HHS Director Jeanne Lambrew, a former senior fellow at the Center for American Progress. CAP founder John Podesta was Obama’s transition chief, overseeing the backroom process of rewarding friends and allies with plum positions. CAP flacks shrugged off conflict-of-interest questions: “We respect the privacy of supporters who have chosen not to make their donations public,” CAP spokeswoman Jennifer Palmieri said.

As for respecting the privacy rights of Obama’s foes? Not so much.

It seems to me no small coincidence that this disclosure charade comes just as numerous tea party organizations are reporting that the Internal Revenue Service has targeted them for audits. According to Colleen Owens of the Richmond (Va.) Tea Party, several fiscal-conservative activist groups in Virginia, Hawaii, Ohio and Texas have received a spate of IRS letters. The missives demand extensive requests to identity volunteers, board members and … donors.

This is B.O.’s M.O. His bully brigade did the same to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and its donors during the November 2010 midterms as payback for the organization’s ads opposing the federal health care takeover. And in 2008, Obama’s allies at a Soros-tied outfit sent out “warning” letters to 10,000 top GOP givers “hoping to create a chilling effect that will dry up contributions.” Witch hunt leader Tom Matzzie, formerly of Soros-funded MoveOn.org, bragged of “going for the jugular” and said the warning letter was just the first step, “alerting donors who might be considering giving to right-wing groups to a variety of potential dangers, including legal trouble, public exposure and watchdog groups digging through their lives.”

Matzzie also advertised a $100,000 bounty for dirt on conservative political groups “to create a sense of scandal around the groups” and dissuade donors from giving money. The effort was cheered by Accountable America adviser Judd Legum, founder of Think Progress — the same group that led the attack on the Chamber of Commerce and is run by Podesta’s Center for American Progress. Just as with the Obama super PAC led by former White House officials, Matzzie’s group “Accountable America” was a 501(c)(4) nonprofit entity that shielded the identity of its donors.

Oh, and remember this? In 2008, St. Louis County Circuit Attorney Bob McCulloch and St. Louis City Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce, both Obama promoters, threatened to bring criminal libel charges against anyone who spread what they considered “false criticisms” of their Dear Leader.

It is no small exaggeration to conclude that Team Obama’s dead aim is to chill conservative speech and criminalize conservative dissent. All Americans for prosperity must push back with one voice: No, you can’t. (Michelle Malkin)

Doubletalk and Doublethink

Keystone Hilarity Update:White House press secretary Jay Carney first says Republicans “forced” President Obama to deny the permit for the Keystone XL pipeline. Later in his press briefing, Carney says Obama didn’t turn down the pipeline.

“In terms of Keystone, as you all know, the history here is pretty clear. And the fact is because Republicans decided to play political with Keystone, their action essentially forced the administration to deny the permit process because they insisted on a time frame in which it was impossible to completely approve the pipeline,” Carney said when asked about the pipeline by ABC News’ Jake Tapper.

Later in the briefing, Carney says it is the Republicans’ fault.

Jake Tapper: “How can you say that you have an all the above on approach if the President turned down the Keystone pipeline? And you blame the Republicans for making it political.”

Carney: “But the President didn’t turn down the Keystone pipeline.”

“There are no magic solutions to rising oil prices,” said White House press secretary Jay Carney. “The rising gas prices clearly the effect of a variety of factors on the global price of oil,” he told reporters, citing geopolitical unrest and rapid growth in India and China.

President George W. Bush was mostly attacked for wanting to drill too much (or being “cozy” with the oil industry), while President Obama’s policies are rooted in unilaterally shutting down the domestic oil industry amidst rising prices and a struggling economy.

I guess the gas prices have forced the Democrats  to start  to squirm so they have to go to the 2 page playbook– Page 1- It’s the Republicans fault, Page 2- It’s someone else’s fault other than ours.

“It’s Bush’s Fault” Just doesn’t work anymore. Besides they are too busy with “It’s NOT Obama’s Fault” Now.

Bush drew gallons of coverage in 2008. Comparing a 20-day span of rising gas prices in 2008 to 24 days of rising prices in February 2011, the Business & Media Institute found the networks did more than 2 ½ times as many stories during the Bush years versus Obama.

Unrest in the Mideast has hit American consumers hard, driving up gas prices that had already been above $3-a-gallon since Dec. 23. The national average for gasoline hit $3.36 on Feb. 28, the highest ever for the month of February according to The Associated Press. But the amount of network news coverage of rising gas prices did not reflect it.

All three broadcast networks together averaged just one story about rising gas prices per day. In contrast, when gas prices rose similarly in 2008, the networks averaged more than one story, per network, per day.

It took 24 days, from Feb. 1, to Feb. 24 for the national average for unleaded gasoline to climb from $3.101 to 3.228. The last comparable period of “eye-popping” gas prices: the 20 days between Feb. 21, 2008, and March 11, 2008, when the national average climbed from $3.086 to $3.227.

Some 2008 reports including the March 6, 2008, “Early Show” exaggerated the already rising prices by emphasizing extremely high prices. That morning CBS showed viewers a California gas pump that was charging $5.19-a-gallon for regular unleaded before mentioning the national average for that day, which was $2.02 lower. Some 2011 reports have reversed that trend by downplaying the impact of currently high gas prices on consumers by using words like “inching” to describe rising prices, or calling U.S. prices “a bargain compared to Europe.”

The Business & Media Institute examined all the broadcast network news reports mentioning gas prices during each of those time periods and found ABC, CBS and NBC aired more than 2 ½ times more stories (63 stories to 24) in 2008 than they did in 2011. (Newsbusters)

See: http://newsbusters.org/blogs/julia-seymour/2011/03/01/networks-link-bush-skyrocketing-gas-prices-15-times-more-obama

The liberal fascination with developing expensive vehicles that run on electricity doesn’t change that: 1) Solar or wind powered vehicles don’t commercially exist; 2) The cars that do run on electricity, or even battery-powered hybrids still require gas  and 3) the high cost of the alternatively fueled vehicles makes them largely insignificant in the auto market and cost-prohibitive to the average consumer. (Heritage)

But as I said yesterday, the Ministry of Truth has a lot of work to do.

But Obama and Company figure if you’re given no choice ,by refusing to do anything about raising gas prices and actively working against oil companies, you’ll be herded into buy a hybrid or electric car. Exactly what they want you to buy and that it will work, eventually and it’s what “feels” good to them. So it must be better than something they accused Bush of being– “Pro-Oil”.

Just like if they spend even money and tax “the rich” enough it will eventually work.

Just give them more time. 🙂

Get out the Barf Bag Folks:

“We’ve got to have a return to some homespun American values of fair play, shared responsibility. That’s who we are as a people,” President Obama said during a press event on the payroll tax cut extension.

“You know, when times are tough, Americans don’t give up. They push ahead. They do whatever it takes to make their lives better, their communities better, and their countries better. With or without Congress every day I’m going to be continuing to fight with them. I do hope Congress joins me. Instead of spending the coming months in a lot of phony political debates (Like 15 months on ObamaCare Mr President?), focusing on the next election (He’s been doing nothing except that since 2009), I hope that we spend some time focusing on middle-class Americans and those are struggling to get in the middle class (and they are the ones paying $38,500 a person to kiss my ass at events). We have a lot more work to do. Let’s do it,” Obama said. (Yeah, socialism is hard work!) 🙂

And the Weirdest Moment of this year so far:

Today, an election lawyer tipped us off to a Federal Election Commission filing for a brand new super PAC: The Occupy Wall Street Political Action Committee.

The “eat the rich” and kill the Corporate people have the biggest Orwellian Doublethink in history, they are now a PAC, and will take money from “rich” people to defeat them because they are evil.

John Paul Thorton “Chief Principle Minister” of the PAC: We found it a little odd that Thornton, who decries corporate money in politics, is establishing a mechanism for raising unlimited corporate funds. “It does seem counterintuitive,” he said. “I am out to get the bloated amounts of money out of politics but to do that, we need to support candidates looking to do that.”

DOUBLETHINK: To know and not to know, to be conscious of complete truthfulness while telling carefully constructed lies, to hold simultaneously two opinions which cancelled out, knowing them to be contradictory and believing in both of them, to use logic against logic, to repudiate morality while laying claim to it, to believe that democracy was impossible and that the Party was the guardian of democracy, to forget, whatever it was necessary to forget, then to draw it back into memory again at the moment when it was needed, and then promptly to forget it again, and above all, to apply the same process to the process itself — that was the ultimate subtlety; consciously to induce unconsciousness, and then, once again, to become unconscious of the act of hypnosis you had just performed. Even to understand the word ‘doublethink’ involved the use of doublethink.

The world has truly gone insane but you aren’t supposed to notice.

So don’t tell anyone.

As always, should you or any of your I.M. Force be caught or killed, the Secretary will disavow any knowledge of your actions.

This Blog will self-destruct in five seconds. Good luck…

And So it Begins…

Virginia School Board Defends Having Third-Graders Sing Occupy Indoctrination Song, Claims The Kids Wrote The Lyrics…

Yes, they’re actually claiming third-grade children wrote these lyrics and chose the topic as well. Because what eight-year-old child isn’t obsessed with class warfare?

Here are lyrics to the song:

Some people have it all
But they still don’t think they have enough
They want more money
A faster ride
They’re not content
Never satisfied
Yes — they’re the 1 percent

I used to be one of the 1 percent
I worked all the time
Never saw my family
Couldn’t make life rhyme
Then the bubble burst
It really, really hurt
I lost my money
Lost my pride
Lost my home
Now I’m part of the 99

Some people have it all
But they still don’t think they have enough
They want more money
A faster ride
They’re not content
Never satisfied
Yes — they’re the 1 percent

I used to be sad, now I’m satisfied
’Cause I really have enough
Though I lost my yacht and plane
Didn’t need that extra stuff
Could have been much worse
You don’t need to be first
’Cause I’ve got my friends
Here by my side
Don’t need it all
I’m so happy to be part of the 99.

Remember this classic from February 2009:

Mmm, mmm, mmm!
Barack Hussein Obama
He said we must be fair today
Equal work means equal pay

Mmm, mmm, mmm!
Barack Hussein Obama
He said that we must take a stand
To make sure everyone gets a chance

Mmm, mmm, mmm!
Barack Hussein Obama
He said red, yellow, black or white
All are equal in his sight

Mmm, mmm, mmm!
Barack Hussein Obama

Yes!
Mmm, mmm, mmm!
Barack Hussein Obama

So what is old is new again.

And Liberals never change their spots.

The Wacky & The Sublime

Irony Alert:

Am I the only one that finds this ironic?

The Associated Press is reporting that Occupy Wall Street is planning a benefit album, the proceeds of which will help fund the movement protesting income inequality.

They hope to raise between $1 million and $2 million with the project.

So I guess not all millions are bad. Apparently, if activist groups have them and not Wall Street, it’s totally fine.

I’m sure you’re intrigued enough now to want more details, which includes this gem: Michael Moore is planning to sing.

Occupy Wall Street has a benefit album planned with Jackson Browne, Third Eye Blind, Crosby & Nash, Devo, Lucinda Williams and even some of those drummers who kept an incessant beat at Manhattan’s Zuccotti Park.

Participants in the protest movement said Wednesday that “Occupy This Album,” which will be available sometime this winter, will also feature DJ Logic, Ladytron, Warren Haynes, Toots and the Maytals, Mike Limbaud, Aeroplane Pageant, Yo La Tengo and others.

Activist filmmaker Michael Moore is also planning to sing.

I’d give them money just to avoid hearing Michael Moore Sing!! 🙂

“We are the Occupiers!!!”

Catchy. 🙂

The Senate Republican Budget press office sent out this rather incriminating timeline of the Democrats’ complete lack of leadership and responsibility on the deficit issue. We’re now over $15 trillion in debt, and they don’t look like they’re taking it any more seriously than back in January. Case in point: the country still doesn’t have a budget. (and on Jan 12, 2012 it will be 1,000 days!)

Here’s the timeline sent out by the GOP Budget Committee press office:

January 25 – In his State of the Union address, President Obama proposes freezing “annual domestic spending for the next five years.” This freeze would lock in elevated spending levels (24 percent non-defense discretionary, not including stimulus) and produce an estimated $3.8 trillion in deficits over the period in question. Subsequent analysis revealed that, because the White House shifted and hid new spending, non-defense discretionary spending would actually increase even further next year.

February 14 – President Obama proposes a budget with $8.7 trillion in new spending (CBO’s re-estimate actually finds $9.6 trillion in new spending).

February 15 – The House of Representatives begins debate on a bill that would cut spending by $61 billion. President Obama promptly issues a veto threat.

April 11 – Press Secretary Jay Carney: “We should move quickly to raise the debt limit and we support a clean piece of legislation to do that.”

April 13 – President Obama delivers a speech where he lays out a “framework” that he claims will lead to $4 trillion in deficit reduction over the next 10–12 years. In reality, using OMB’s own numbers, deficits under the “framework” are $3.2 trillion higher than the president’s own fiscal commission.

April 15 – The Republican-controlled House of Representatives passes its budget, which cuts $6 trillion in comparison to the President’s budget.

April 19 – S&P assigns a negative outlook to the U.S. credit rating, signaling at least a one-in-three likelihood that the agency will lower the nation’s long-term rating.

May 1 – Total federal spending since President Obama took office reaches approximately $8 trillion.

May 11 – Austan Goolsbee, chair of the president’s Council of Economic Advisers, says it is “quite insane” to tie spending cuts to the debt limit increase.

May 17 – Chairman Conrad continues to delay the unveiling of his latest secret budget, announcingthat “I’ll say something later — not today, probably… There are a lot of conversations under way.”

May 18 – Majority Leader Reid says it would be “foolish” for Senate Democrats to offer a budget.

May 19 – Chairman Conrad announces he will not reveal a budget to the public until after the Gang of Six produces a proposal.

May 25 – The Senate rejects President Obama’s budget by a vote of 0-97.

May 23 – Senator Schumer, when asked why there is no alternative to the House-passed budget, answers, “To put other budgets out there is not the point.”

May 26 – GOP Senators join Ranking Member Sessions in asking Reid not to break for the Memorial Day recess until Senate Democrats bring forward a budget so the Senate can fulfill its duty.

June 7 – Even some Senate Democrats become anxious about their party’s lack of a budget.

June 29 – Chairman Conrad tells Politico, “Senate Democrats have reached an agreement on a plan — just now — and we’ll be putting that out sometime soon.” (Note: the plan was never made public, but a leaked outline revealed that it contained as many as $2 in tax hikes for $1 in spending cuts.)

June 29 – Sessions renews call for the Senate to remain in town to deal with its budget and debt ceiling work.

July 1 – Sessions and Finance Committee Ranking Member Orrin Hatch ask the president to reveal, in detail, what his deficit reduction plans actually are. No response is received, and the president’s February budget remains the only plan he has ever put on paper (thus the only plan that can be estimated by CBO) and shared with Congress or the American people.

July 8 – On the 800th day since Senate Democrats passed a budget, the unemployment rate rises to 9.2 percent (the third straight month above 9 percent).

July 19 – Amid continuing calls for the president to reveal what spending cuts he actually supports, Carney says that “leadership is not proposing a plan for the sake of having it voted up or down…”

July 22 – At a press conference discussing his position on negotiating a debt limit increase, President Obama declares, “The only bottom line that I have is that we have to extend this debt ceiling through the next election, into 2013.”

August 2 – Following passage of the debt limit increase package in the Senate, President Obama callsfor America to “live within our means” immediately before advocating a further increase in government spending, framed, as usual, as “investments.”

August 3 – Government borrowing tops 100 percent of GDP as the U.S. accumulates $4 trillion in gross debt under President Obama, well above the 90-percent threshold identified by economists Rogoff and Reinhart as when debt harms economic growth and brings down job creation.

August 5 – S&P downgrades the U.S.’ credit rating from AAA, the first time the nation has had less than the top rating since receiving it in 1917.

September 8– Shortly after the passage of the debt limit deal and the spending cuts that went with it, President Obama announcesa second stimulus bill that would cost $447 billion. CBO later admitsthat stimulus spending depresses long-term economic growth.

September 18– President Obama unveilsa deficit reduction plan that he claims will reduce deficits by $3 trillion through a combination of tax increases, war savings, and other spending cuts. But a Budget Committee analysis reveals that, thanks to a number of budget gimmicks, the plan would reduce deficits by only $1.4 trillion and would rely entirelyon tax increases.

October 14– 900 days pass since Senate Democrats last offered a budget plan.

November 7– The Congressional Budget Office reportsthat total federal spending increased in Fiscal Year 2011 by $145 billion over the previous year’s level.

November 9– House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi claims that Democrats didn’t pass a budget when they controlled both chambers of Congress because “Republicans would have filibustered it,” but as she should know, budget resolutions can’t be filibustered.

November 11– As the supercommittee continues its tense negotiations, President Obama departsfor a nine-day trip to Bali, Indonesia, and Australia.

November 13– Supercommittee member James Clyburn, the House Assistant Democratic Leader, saysthat a draft Democrat proposal has been outlined. A Budget Committee analysisestimatesthis outlined proposal to contain a dramatic tax increase-to-spending cut ratio of 4:1.

November 16– On the 931st day since Senate Democrats offered a budget, the U.S. gross national debt tops $15 trillion.

November 18– In search of common ground, Republican Sen. Pat Toomey puts forwarda draft proposal with both spending cuts and tax revenue. Democrats summarily rejectthe offer.

November 21– New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg chides President Obama, saying that “It’s the Chief Executive’s job to bring people together & provide leadership. I don’t see that happening [with the] #SuperCommittee”

November 22– President Obama placesmultiple calls, over the course of the month, to European leaders regarding their countries’ debt problems. Meanwhile, Jay Carney says it was “absolutely not” a problem for “him not to have been as involved” with the supercommittee negotiations.

(and liberals will swear he was in there actively from the beginning!)

Now he’s off Golfing again….Now that’s quite a turkey!

Thanksgiving 2011

I am just thankful to be alive.

After yesterday’s car accident that totaled my car what else is there to say.

The false accusations of  “sexual harrasment” at Fry’s Electronics an hour earlier is another story for another day.

What a day!! 😦

So I turn it over to one of my favorite writer, Thomas Sowell.

“Alice in Wonderland” was written by a professor who also wrote a book on symbolic logic. So it is not surprising that Alice encountered not only strange behavior in Wonderland, but also strange and illogical reasoning — of a sort too often found in the real world, and which a logician would be very much aware of.

If Alice could visit the world of liberal rhetoric and assumptions today, she might find similarly illogical and bizarre thinking. But people suffering in the current economy might not find it nearly as entertaining as “Alice in Wonderland.”

Perhaps the most remarkable feature of the world envisioned by today’s liberals is that it is a world where other people just passively accept whatever “change” liberals impose. In the world of Liberal Land, you can just take for granted all the benefits of the existing society, and then simply tack on your new, wonderful ideas that will make things better.

For example, if the economy is going along well and you happen to take a notion that there ought to be more home ownership, especially among the poor and minorities, then you simply have the government decree that lenders have to lend to more low-income people and minorities who want mortgages, ending finicky mortgage standards about down payments, income and credit histories.

That sounds like a fine idea in the world of Liberal Land. Unfortunately, in the ugly world of reality, it turned out to be a financial disaster, from which the economy has still not yet recovered. Nor have the poor and minorities.

Apparently you cannot just tack on your pet notions to whatever already exists, without repercussions spreading throughout the whole economy. That’s what happens in the ugly world of reality, as distinguished from the beautiful world of Liberal Land.

The strange and bizarre characters found in “Alice in Wonderland” have counterparts in the political vision of Liberal Land today. Among the most interesting of these characters are those elites who are convinced that they are so much smarter than the rest of us that they feel both a right and a duty to take all sorts of decisions out of our incompetent hands — for our own good.

In San Francisco, which is Liberal Land personified, there have been attempts to ban the circumcision of newborn baby boys. Fortunately, that was nipped in the bud. But it shows how widely the self-anointed saviors of Liberal Land feel entitled to take decisions out of the hands of mere ordinary citizens.

Secretary of the Treasury Timothy Geithner says, “We’re facing a very consequential debate about some fundamental choices as a country.” People talk that way in Liberal Land. Moreover, such statements pass muster with those who simply take in the words, decide whether they sound nice to them, and then move on.

But, if you take words seriously, the more fundamental question is whether individuals are to remain free to make their own choices, as distinguished from having collectivized choices, “as a country” — which is to say, having choices made by government officials and imposed on the rest of us.

The history of the 20th century is a painful lesson on what happens when collective choices replace individual choices. Even leaving aside the chilling history of totalitarianism in the 20th century, the history of economic central planning shows it to have been such a widely recognized disaster that even communist and socialist governments were abandoning it as the century ended.

Making choices “as a country” cannot be avoided in some cases, such as elections or referenda. But that is very different from saying that decisions in general should be made “as a country” — which boils down to having people like Timothy Geithner taking more and more decisions out of our own hands and imposing their will on the rest of us. That way lies madness exceeding anything done by the Mad Hatter in “Alice in Wonderland.”

That way lie unfunded mandates, nanny state interventions in people’s lives, such as banning circumcision — and the ultimate nanny state monstrosity, ObamaCare.

The world of reality has its problems, so it is understandable that some people want to escape to a different world, where you can talk lofty talk and forget about ugly realities like costs and repercussions. The world of reality is not nearly as lovely as the world of Liberal Land. No wonder so many people want to go there.

AMEN.

Now stay safe.

Unpopular Popularity

President Obama hugs an increasingly unpopular, vulgar, and lawless movement. The Hill reports that after President Obama was heckled by protesters at an event in New Hampshire, he said:

“I appreciate you guys making your point; let me go ahead and make mine,” Obama said before continuing his speech. “I’ll listen to you, you listen to me, OK?”

A few minutes later, Obama acknowledged the Occupy protest movement again, saying: “You are the reason I ran for office.”

Shiftless, lazy, violent, anarchist squatters who expect you and me to support them because they are entitled to it.

Isn’t that a good enough reason to make sure we don’t have 4 more years??

And then there’s The Global Warming Fraud:

Almost exactly two years since damning email messages were released from Great Britain’s University of East Anglia showing a pattern of deception and collusion between scientists involved in spreading the global warming myth, a new batch of such correspondence has emerged that seems destined to get as little press coverage as the original ClimateGate scandal did in November 2009.

James Delingpole reported in Britian’s Telegraph Tuesday:

Breaking news: two years after the Climategate, a further batch of emails has been leaked onto the internet by a person – or persons – unknown. And as before, they show the “scientists” at the heart of the Man-Made Global Warming industry in a most unflattering light. Michael Mann, Phil Jones, Ben Santer, Tom Wigley, Kevin Trenberth, Keith Briffa – all your favourite Climategate characters are here, once again caught red-handed in a series of emails exaggerating the extent of Anthropogenic Global Warming, while privately admitting to one another that the evidence is nowhere near as a strong as they’d like it to be.In other words, what these emails confirm is that the great man-made global warming scare is not about science but about political activism. This, it seems, is what motivated the whistleblower ‘FOIA 2011′ (or “thief”, as the usual suspects at RealClimate will no doubt prefer to tar him or her) to go public.

The BBC is reporting that these email messages also come from UEA, and number around 5,000. The entire set is available at MegaUpload.

As you might imagine, climate realists across the globe are beginning to sift through these messages. Our friend Tom Nelson has already uncovered some whoppers:

<3066> Thorne:
I also think the science is being manipulated to put a political spin on it which for all our sakes might not be too clever in the long run. […]

<2884> Wigley:
Mike, The Figure you sent is very deceptive […] there have been a number of dishonest presentations of model results by individual authors and by IPCC […]

<4923> Stott/MetO:

My most immediate concern is to whether to leave this statement [“probably the warmest of the last millennium”] in or whether I should remove it in the anticipation that by the time of the 4th Assessment Report we’ll have withdrawn this statement – Chris Folland at least seems to think this is possible.

<3062> Jones:

We don’t really want the bullshit and optimistic stuff that Michael has written […] We’ll have to cut out some of his stuff. […]

<3373> Bradley:

I’m sure you agree–the Mann/Jones GRL paper was truly pathetic and should never have been published. I don’t want to be associated with that 2000 year “reconstruction”. […]

<4369> Cook:

I am afraid that Mike is defending something that increasingly can not be defended. He is investing too much personal stuff in this and not letting the science move ahead.

Of course, the “Mike” and “Michael” being regularly disparaged by his peers is Michael Mann, the creator of the thoroughly-debunked Hockey Stick graph which so much of this myth is dependent on.

As physicist Lubos Motl notes, these messages “surely show that Michael Mann is a fraudster even according to most of his colleagues.”

Also for those not connecting the names, Jones is the infamous Phil Jones of UEA. Speaking of which:

<2440> Jones:

I’ve been told that IPCC is above national FOI Acts. One way to cover yourself and all those working in AR5 would be to delete all emails at the end of the process

<2094> Briffa:

UEA does not hold the very vast majority of mine [potentially FOIable emails] anyway which I copied onto private storage after the completion of the IPCC task.

… <1577> Jones:

[FOI, temperature data]

Any work we have done in the past is done on the back of the research grants we get – and has to be well hidden. I’ve discussed this with the main funder (US Dept of Energy) in the past and they are happy about not releasing the original station data.

Briffa of course is Keith Briffa, the man exposed to have manipulated tree ring data in order to assist Mann’s Hockey Stick charade.

As previously stated, realists from around the world are just starting to go through all these thousands of messages, and it will likely be days if not weeks before we know everything they contain.

Regardless, people that have been pushing back on this myth for years are beginning to weigh in.

Sen. James Inhofe (R-Ok.), the ranking member on the Environment and Public Works Committee issued the following statement Tuesday:

“Even before the Climategate emails were released in 2009, the so-called ‘consensus’ peddled by the IPCC was already shattered,” Senator Inhofe said. “Nevertheless, the Obama administration is moving full speed ahead to implement global warming regulations that will impose the largest tax increase in American history, significantly raise energy prices, and destroy hundreds of thousands of jobs.

“Remember, the Obama EPA is basing these regulations on its endangerment finding, which relies on the flawed science of the IPCC. Now a recent report by the EPA Inspector General has revealed that EPA cut corners in the process leading up to the endangerment finding: it shows that EPA did not engage in the required record-keeping procedures or conduct an independent review of the science underpinning these costly regulations. If the first Climategate scandal – and the over one hundred errors in the IPCC science that were revealed in its wake – were not enough, the apparent release of the Climategate 2.0 emails is just one more reason to halt the Obama EPA’s job killing global warming agenda.

“The crisis of confidence in the IPCC translates into a crisis of confidence in the EPA’s endangerment finding. The IPCC science has already disintegrated under the weight of its own flaws, and I believe it will only be a matter of time before the endangerment finding follows suit. It’s time for the Obama administration to stop trying to resurrect policies that are all pain for no gain, and get to work on reviving our economy.”

The Competitive Enterprise Institute’s Myron Ebell issued the following statement Tuesday:

“If there were any doubts remaining after reading the first Climategate e-mails, the new batch of e-mails that appeared on the web today make it clear that the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change is an organized conspiracy dedicated to tricking the world into believing that global warming is a crisis that requires a drastic response,” said Myron Ebell, Director of CEI’s Center on Energy and Environment.

“Several of the new e-mails show that the scientists involved in doctoring the IPCC reports are very aware that the energy-rationing policies that their junk science is meant to support would cost trillions of dollars,” said Ebell.

And Climate Depot’s Marc Morano wrote Tuesday:

“It appears that Climategate 2.0 has arrived to drain what little life there was left in the man-made global warming movement.

“The new emails further expose the upper echelon of the UN IPCC as being more interested in crafting a careful narrative than following the evidence. The release of thousands of more emails is quite simply another victory for science.”

As this is just the beginning of this latest round of email messages from UEA, readers are advised to stay tuned to NewsBusters for regular updates as well as to see how the global warming-loving media are responding.

UPDATE

Tom Nelson has found some remarkable observations concerning these email messages from warmist David Appell:

On a second reading of the stolen UAE emails leaked today, and just reading the README file emails, these sound worse than I thought at first – their impact will be devastating…The original release of emails 2 years ago had a significant impact. My guess is that these are going to throw the science off-kilter for perhaps the rest of this decade, and may well lead some people to rethink how they are doing business (including certain journalists).

But don’t worry, the faithful don’t care, for proof denies faith and without faith they are nothing.

So here’s another way of looking at it:

Consider California’s new mandate. The state’s peak electricity demand is about 52,000 megawatts. Meeting the one-third target will require (if you oversimplify a bit) about 17,000 megawatts of renewable energy capacity. Let’s assume that California will get half of that capacity from solar and half from wind. Most of its large-scale solar electricity production will presumably come from projects like the $2 billion Ivanpah solar plant, which is now under construction in the Mojave Desert in southern California. When completed, Ivanpah, which aims to provide 370 megawatts of solar generation capacity, will cover 3,600 acres — about five and a half square miles.

The math is simple: to have 8,500 megawatts of solar capacity, California would need at least 23 projects the size of Ivanpah, covering about 129 square miles, an area more than five times as large as Manhattan. While there’s plenty of land in the Mojave, projects as big as Ivanpah raise environmental concerns. In April, the federal Bureau of Land Management ordered a halt to construction on part of the facility out of concern for the desert tortoise, which is protected under the Endangered Species Act.

Wind energy projects require even more land. The Roscoe wind farm in Texas, which has a capacity of 781.5 megawatts, covers about 154 square miles. Again, the math is straightforward: to have 8,500 megawatts of wind generation capacity, California would likely need to set aside an area equivalent to more than 70 Manhattans. Apart from the impact on the environment itself, few if any people could live on the land because of the noise (and the infrasound, which is inaudible to most humans but potentially harmful) produced by the turbines.

Industrial solar and wind projects also require long swaths of land for power lines. Last year, despite opposition from environmental groups, San Diego Gas & Electric started construction on the 117-mile Sunrise Powerlink, which will carry electricity from solar, wind and geothermal projects located in Imperial County, Calif., to customers in and around San Diego. In January, environmental groups filed a federal lawsuit to prevent the $1.9 billion line from cutting through a nearby national forest.

Not all environmentalists ignore renewable energy’s land requirements. The Nature Conservancy has coined the term “energy sprawl” to describe it. Unfortunately, energy sprawl is only one of the ways that renewable energy makes heavy demands on natural resources.

Consider the massive quantities of steel required for wind projects. The production and transportation of steel are both expensive and energy-intensive, and installing a single wind turbine requires about 200 tons of it. Many turbines have capacities of 3 or 4 megawatts, so you can assume that each megawatt of wind capacity requires roughly 50 tons of steel. By contrast, a typical natural gas turbine can produce nearly 43 megawatts while weighing only 9 tons. Thus, each megawatt of capacity requires less than a quarter of a ton of steel.

Obviously these are ballpark figures, but however you crunch the numbers, the takeaway is the same: the amount of steel needed to generate a given amount of electricity from a wind turbine is greater by several orders of magnitude.

Such profligate use of resources is the antithesis of the environmental ideal. Nearly four decades ago, the economist E. F. Schumacher distilled the essence of environmental protection down to three words: “Small is beautiful.” In the rush to do something — anything — to deal with the intractable problem of greenhouse gas emissions, environmental groups and policy makers have determined that renewable energy is the answer. But in doing so they’ve tossed Schumacher’s dictum into the ditch.

All energy and power systems exact a toll. If we are to take Schumacher’s phrase to heart while also reducing the rate of growth of greenhouse gas emissions, we must exploit the low-carbon energy sources — natural gas and, yes, nuclear — that have smaller footprints. (NY Times)

So a Liberal scheme turns out to be worse than the “cure”. Gee, that never happens.

The Media Machine

More words of wisdom from Ms. Food Police Herself, Michelle Obama:

American children need to “get their palates adjusted” so they will begin eating properly.

And she’s just the Government Mommy to do it!

Mrs. Obama also said that children in “underserved communities” become obese because they “aren’t growing up with vegetables because there are no grocery stores.”

Has this hit the stupidly condescending level yet?

First Lady Michelle Obama said that “arugula and steak” was her “favorite” meal.

Michael Ramirez Cartoon

Four years ago, the ABC, CBS and NBC morning shows celebrated the “rock star” Democrats running to replace George W. Bush, and no candidate set journalists’ pulses racing faster than Barack Obama. Now, after three years of high unemployment, trillion dollar deficits and an onerous new health care law, how are those newscasts covering Obama’s re-election campaign and the candidates vying to replace him?

To find out, Media Research Center analysts examined all 723 campaign segments which aired on the three broadcast network weekday morning programs from January 1 to October 31, 2011, using the same methodology we employed to study campaign coverage on those same programs for the same time period in 2007.

Four years ago, the network coverage promoted the Democratic candidates and cast their strong liberal views as mainstream. This year, our study finds the networks are disparaging the Republican candidates and casting them as ideological extremists:
Labeling:

– This year, network reporters have employed 49 “conservative” labels to describe the Republican candidates, compared with only one “liberal” label for President Obama.

– Four years ago, when Obama was a relatively unknown candidate, the morning shows also provided just a single “liberal” label to describe his ideology, and never once labeled Hillary Clinton, John Edwards or the other Democrats as “liberal.”
Agenda:

– By a 4-to-1 margin, ABC, CBS and NBC morning show hosts have employed an adversarial liberal agenda when questioning this year’s Republican candidates. But those same hosts’ questions for President Obama leaned in his direction, with mostly liberal-themed questions.

And the Republicans do themselves no favors having liberals like these “journalists” moderating their debates so they can throw “gotcha” questions and condescending lobs.

– Four years ago, questions for the Democratic candidates tilted by more than two-to-one to the left, a friendly agenda.

Tone:

– In 2007, Democratic candidates were regularly tossed softball questions. This year’s interviews with Republicans have been much more caustic, with few chances for the candidates to project a warm and fuzzy image.

– Despite the poor economy and low approval ratings, the morning shows continue to treat Barack Obama as more of a celebrity than a politician, airing positive feature stories about the President and his family — a gift not bestowed on the conservative Republican candidates.

During the 2008 campaign, the network morning shows acted as cheerleaders for the Democratic field. This time around, they are providing far more hostile coverage of the various Republicans who are running, while treating Obama’s re-election campaign to the same personality-driven coverage that was so helpful to the then-Illinois Senator four years ago.

If the real decisions in our democracy are to be in the hands of voters, then the news media owe viewers a fair and unbiased look at the candidates in both parties. That means asking the candidates questions that reflect the concerns of both sides — liberals and conservatives alike. And the syrupy coverage awarded year after year to the Democrats’ celebrity candidates in no way matches the pretense of journalists holding both sides equally accountable, without fear or favor.

As might be expected, given the lack of a contest for the Democratic nomination, most of the segments were about the Republican nomination process. Yet of the approximately 60 percent of items that mainly focused on just one candidate, there were more than three times as many segments about President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign (129) than about any individual Republican candidates. (This tally only includes stories that discuss Obama as a candidate, excluding items that dealt with him strictly as President.)

Bill Maher: “You’ve got to feel very bad for Mitt Romney,” Maher observed. “I mean, he has been led so far by Trump, then Bachmann, then Perry, then Cain.” “He hangs in there!” exclaimed Stephanopoulos. “He’s everyone’s second choice.” “I’m rooting for him. Look, because in a country with two political parties, the Republican can always win. I mean — at least he eats with a knife and fork! I mean — he is all that stands between us and the rise of the apes.

Republicans are apes. 🙂

“He’s today the political equivalent of a rock star,” then-CBS correspondent Gloria Borger trumpeted on the January 17, 2007 Early Show. The next day, NBC’s Matt Lauer agreed: “He’s got rock star buzz around him.”

On Oct 31st the Herman Cain “scandal” broke so Herman has gotten much more talk, all of it bad. The piling on has been non-stop.

Hitting Republicans With a Liberal Agenda: As might be expected, most of the questions posed to the Republican candidates had to do with campaign strategy and personal controversies. But our analysts counted 104 “ideological questions” — policy-based questions that incorporated either a liberal or conservative premise.

Of those, the vast majority (85, or 82%) reflected a liberal policy agenda, vs. just 19 (18%) that highlighted the concerns of conservative voters. Thus, instead of functioning as a surrogate for the Republican rank-and-file voter who probably won’t get a chance to question a candidate, TV journalists used their time with the candidates to push a standard liberal agenda.
A central policy issue for many of these interviews was the economy and the growing national debt, and network hosts consistently pressed the candidates for their reluctance to agree on the need for a tax increase. On the April 13 Today, for example, co-host Matt Lauer hit Bachmann: “Is raising taxes on the table?” before employing liberal rhetoric: “Why shouldn’t the burden be equally shared? Why shouldn’t we put some of that burden on the wealthy and corporations?”

And in September, Hill hit Newt Gingrich for backing the Tea Party: “There’s a feeling by some folks that this very small group of people is starting to control the conversation. Do there need to be more voices at the table, in general, at this point?”

A month later, she went after the ex-Speaker again, this time for criticizing the left-wing “Occupy Wall Street” protests: “You have had some pretty outspoken words, though, for the folks behind Occupy Wall Street, that you don’t think this is a great move, that you don’t really see what their point is. Yet, a number of Americans say they’re behind it.”

They are earnestly Liberal aren’t they. 🙂

So next time you hear that the Liberal media isn’t biased, you can laugh cynically just like I do.

The wave of civil unrest that has swept the globe over the past year has prompted the Department of Homeland Security to step up its monitoring of Twitter and other social networks in a bid to pre-empt any sign of social dislocation within the United States.

Big Sis will implement new guidelines that would focus on “gleaning information from sites such as Twitter and Facebook for law enforcement purposes.”

Under the new framework, when the department receives information about a “potential threat,” it will then ask its contractors to look for relevant search references using “open source” information.

US law enforcement bodies are already scanning Twitter and Facebook for signs of unrest.

How Capitalist… 🙂

Oh, and many of the “occupiers” may not be poor.

Many “Occupy Wall Street” protesters arrested in New York City reside in more luxurious homes than some of their rhetoric might suggest, a Daily Caller investigation has found.

For each of the 984 Occupy Wall Street protesters arrested in New York City between September 18 and October 15, police collected and filed an information sheet recording the arrestee’s name, age, sex, criminal charge, home address and — in most cases — race. The Daily Caller has obtained all of this information from a source in the New York City government.

Among addresses for which information is available, single-family homes listed on those police intake forms have a median value of $305,000 — a far higher number than the $185,400 median value of owner-occupied housing units in the United States.

Some of the homes where “Occupy” arrestees reside, viewed through Google Maps and the Multiple Listing Service real estate database, are the definition of opulence.

Using county assessors and online resources such as Zillow.com, TheDC estimated property values and rents for 87 percent of the homes and 59 percent of the apartments listed in the arrest records.

Even in the nation’s currently depressed housing market, at least 95 of the protesters’ residences are worth approximately $500,000 or more.

The median monthly rent for those living in apartments whose information is readily available is $1,850.

Of the 984 protesters arrested, at least 797 are white. The median age of “Occupy” protesters taken into custody is 27 years.

Ten demonstrators were arrested more than once. The vast majority of the arrests, it should be noted, were for nonviolent offenses.

The arrest intake documents show that arrestees came to New York from all over the country but particularly from the Northeast.

Criminal charges ranged from “loitering while wearing a mask” and “failure to move along” to “violent behavior” and other more serious charges such as “assault 2 [second-degree assault] caus[ing] physical injury to police [or] firemen.” There was also one charge of “sex abuse 3 [third-degree].” Hundreds were arrested on October 1 for obstructing traffic on the Brooklyn Bridge.

While it would not be fair to conclude that the arrested protesters are fully representative of a movement that is not completely understood, this information forms the most complete snapshot yet of the demonstrations’ more militant participants.

It also reinforces the persistent critique of protesters as entitled, upper-class agitators with few legitimate grievances.

London’s Daily Mail newspaper, for example, recently highlighted signs of wealth among the throngs in Zuccotti Park.

But on the ground at the epicentre of the Occupy Wall Street demonstration, a closer look at some of the impassioned protesters is starting to suggest that while many of them have genuine grievances, all may not be completely as advertised.

The flash of a designer belt, a watch or even, in one case, a huge wad of cash reveals many activists are not quite so hard done by.

“Sleeping beside the hardcore activists are increasing numbers of wealthy students turning up to make the most of the party atmosphere, drugs and free food,” reporters Paul Bentley and Micela McLucas wrote in October. “While they dress down to blend in, the youngsters’ privileged backgrounds are revealed by glimpses of expensive gadgetry or the absent minded mention of their private schools during heated political debates.”

“I think that it’s accurate to say that our supporters come from all backgrounds,” Patrick Bruner, the operator of OccupyWallStreet.org, a website dedicated to help organize and spread information about the protests, told TheDC when asked about participants from wealthier backgrounds. “That said, a (non-random) survey on our site revealed that our visitors literally are the 99% in regards to economic realities.”

The national median home value of $185,400 reflects U.S. Census statistics from the years 2005 through 2009, the last year data were available.

TheDC was able to estimate home values and apartment rents for 659 of the 972 residences. Thirteen were in university dormitories; six were post office boxes; four were addresses in foreign countries. Many addresses proved to be nonexistent, and a few were not provided to police.

Scary Math

Another Comparison for Liberal who love Statistics:

Occupy Wall Street / other arrests now exceed 2,500

occupy-wall-streetAccording to the run total of Occupy Wall Street / wherever else they occupy, the arrest total is now up to 2,511. This means the Occupy “movement” is now ahead of the Tea Party 2,511 to 0. The Occupy Wall Street “arrest” counter bot continues to brag about all the arrests. They tweet gleefully that with all the arrests in Oakland and other places, a total of 185 were arrested as of earlier today: Today’s #occupyarrests total sitting at 185, with a running total of 2511 arrests #occupyoakland #occupywallst #StandWithOakland #ows

4 Rapes and Over 2.4 Million Dollars of taxpayer money (and god knows how much food cost).

Tea party: 0 arrests since 2009. No riots. No Cost. And many members of Congress.

They are soooo alike it’s scary… 🙂

More Poor Math From Liberal Socialists:

In his attempt to build support for his American Jobs Act, Barack Obama  held a fundraiser. He’d have been better off attending a math class first. Obama pushed the Senate’s “millionaire surtax” proposal to pay for a portion of the costs, and tried to impress people with just how little this would cost the rich:

Obama touted a provision of his jobs proposal that would give states money to retain teachers, firefighters and police, funded by a surtax on annual earnings above $1 million. Someone making $1.1 million a year would pay “an extra $500 — 500 bucks,” he told the well-heeled crowd, which laughed.

First, the surtax was not part of Obama’s proposal; that came from Harry Reid, and it replaced tax hikes that were too onerous for even Democrats to swallow.  But the real problem with Obama’s claim is that it literally doesn’t add up.  The surtax applies a 5.6% tax on all income over a million dollars in a year.  On $1,100,000 of income, the surtax would get applied to the $100,000 as Obama says — but 5.6% of $100,000 is not $500.  It’s $5,600, which is eleven times more than Obama claimed.

Apparently Obama can’t do math, which is hardly surprising given the outcome of his economic policies.  The “well-heeled crowd” of Democrats seem to have the same problem.  (h/t: HA reader Robert C)

Americas Bills About to Exceed Its Paycheck
Adding today’s [treasuries auction] $35 billion to yesterday’s $35 billion in Two year bonds, brings total US debt to $15.010 trillion, with GDP still at $15.013 trillion (granted this number may be revised tomorrow), resulting in a debt to GDP ratio of 99.99%. Tomorrow’s historical $29 billion in 7 Year bonds will take America into that uncharted territory of triple digit debt to GDP. But yes, the formal settlement of all bonds will not occur until Halloween, so we can celebrate on several days America’s historic transition one step closer to insolvency.
Tomorrow’s historical $29 billion in 7 Year bonds will take America into that uncharted territory of triple digit debt to GDP.

Americas bills are about to exceed its paycheck.

The CHART OF THE DAY shows U.S. government debt divided among every man, woman and child will exceed per-capita gross domestic product this year for the first time in International Monetary Fund records dating back to 1980.

The amount owed will reach $46,771 per person, surpassing the $46,750 in output, according to Bloomberg calculations using the IMFs deficit and growth projections from its September World Economic Outlook. Debt will exceed production by $8,000 per person by 2016, reversing GDPs $18,400 advantage as recently as 2007, before the worlds largest economy fell into the recession and government spending surged.

Its a milestone in an unsustainable trend, said Robert Bixby, executive director of the Concord Coalition, an Arlington, Virginia-based group that calls for a balanced budget. Whats alarming is there is no end in sight.

The U.S. government last week posted its third consecutive annual budget deficit in excess of $1 trillion for the fiscal year ended Sept. 30. A congressional committee has been tasked with finding $1.5 trillion in savings over the next decade under the terms of an August agreement to raise the federal debt ceiling.

And the Senate hasn’t passed a Budget in over 900 days!! (The House passed one 6 months ago- and was quick demagogued into liberal hell- Harry Reid’s desk!)

It just doesnt seem like the political system or the public really has come to the point where they are ready to make some basic compromises, Bixby said. People lament the debt, but so far we have no realistic strategies for dealing with it.(bloomberg)

Put simply: As of Today we have exceeding in spending what we take in and produce!

Obama’s solution: SPEND EVEN MORE!

But since it’s Bush’s fault! The Republicans! The Rich! The Tea Party!

No Worries.

Under the Banner Day

Sidebar: U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, the chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, interrupted an interview with a reporter Saturday in Charleston to speak with two elementary-school age children that she quickly labeled “little Democrats.”

“We are leaving no stone unturned,” she said once she returned to the interview. (evil maniacal laughter in her head no doubt)

Yeah, that would be why they are illiterate but can grow up to “occupy wall street”. 🙂

Meanwhile, “middle class” Warrior Obama is soaking up $5,000 a plate dinner and $38,500 autographs.

It’s good to be the King.

Under the “Politics are just strange and Obama’s are stranger” category:

While plugging her new book, “Paula Deen’s Southern Cooking Bible,” the feisty TV chef took a pot shot at Michelle for gorging herself on greasy french fries, fatty hot chicken wings and sugary deep-fried Snickers bars!

“Michelle’s spitting mad,” a source told The ENQUIRER.

“She thinks Paula is trying to smear her and her family just as the 2012 presidential election race swings into gear.”

The trouble first began before Barack Obama was even elected president in 2008, when Michelle made a guest appearance on Deen’s popular “Paula’s Party” show and revealed that fried shrimp was her family’s favorite meal.

Then in an interview after filming the program, Paula quipped that Michelle would be serving high-fat, greasy and sugary foods in the White House if Obama won the election!

Now Paula is rehashing those attacks on Michelle in an attempt to plug her latest cookbook and offset Michelle’s new book about eating healthy, noted the source.

“She’s no different than the rest of us,” Paula said about Michelle in a new interview.

Paula added: “She probably ate more than any other guest I ever had on the show! She kept eating even during commercials. Know what (the Obamas’) favorite foods are? Hot wings. Y’know – those kinds of foods that aren’t necessarily top-of-the-list healthy foods.”

“Michelle now deeply regrets ever being on Paula’s show,” added the source. “There are a lot of digs she would have been able to brush off, but portraying her as a high-calorie gorger during her crusade for healthy eating is crossing the line.”(Enquirer)

The Empress has no clothes! An Obama with an over-developed since of their own sanctimony to the human race as a whole. Never… 🙂

Under “never saw this at a Tea Party rally” Because you didn’t:

Dallas Police continue to investigate whether a teenage runaway was sexually assaulted by an adult male at the Occupy Dallas encampment behind City Hall.

A source within the Dallas Police Department who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the ongoing investigation said the girl ran away from home in Garland last month and that she is now refusing to cooperate with investigators. She initially told officers that she had sex with a man in his early twenties and had engaged in sexual activity with several other people.

Some members of the group told CBS 11 the girl identified herself as a 19-year-old and never knew she was 14.

But don’t worry, to the Left and the Leftist media OWS and the Tea party are the same, except that Tea partiers are violent, angry white racists. (if you noticed the contradiction there look up Doublethink sometime-it’s a leftist favourite)

And once the weather turns cold and nasty, especially in the North, will the OWSers go back to their parent’s basements or will the Left adopt them and build them little Hoovervilles?  We’ll see.

The media would like the imagery. I guess the left could fund them. (Think about that for moment, then laugh cynically).

An anti-capitalist group which sparked the Occupy Wall Street movement has called for global protests Saturday to demand that leaders of the Group of 20 (G20) nations impose a “Robin Hood tax” on financial transactions and currency trades.Canada-based Adbusters wants the Occupy Wall Street protest movement against economic inequality to take to the streets to call for a 1 percent tax on such deals ahead of a Nov. 3-4 summit of the G20 leading economies in France.“Let’s send them a clear message: We want you to slow down some of that $1.3 trillion easy money that’s sloshing around the global casino each day—enough cash to fund every social program and environmental initiative in the world,” the activist group said on its website.

So OWS in the US was started by Canadians. Gee, the Democrats can’t even create no-job jobs!:)

Political Cartoons by Gary McCoy

The Double Standard and Naked Partisanship revealed (not that the Left or Leftist Media will care):

While the New York Times was hypersensitive to any signs of racial prejudice among the massive, peaceful Tea Party protests, reporter Joseph Berger raised and dismissed the idea of anti-Semitism at Occupy Wall Street, in Saturday’s “Cries of Anti-Semitism, But Not at Zuccotti Park.”

Just two of many references: Reporter David Herszenhorn assumed racism was a force in the movement in an April  1, 2010 podcast: “One is clearly there’s a racial component. Some members of Congress you know, had epithets hurled at them as protesters marched around the Capitol on the day of the big House vote.” Those claims have never been substantiated. On July 18, 2010 Matt Bai reported about fictional “hateful 25-year-olds” at Tea Party rallies.

By contrast, reporter Berger played strong defense for OWS against the anti-Semitism allegations.

Among the hodgepodge of signs that have sprouted in Zuccotti Park in Lower Manhattan, one man in jeans and a baseball cap has been carrying placards that shout their suggestions: “Google: Jewish Billionaires” and “Google: Zionists control Wall St.”

Gee, during the Tea Party Media heyday 1 guy from the SEIU who would show up with a racist sign would draw 100% of the media’s attention. That one person was totally indicative of the movement.

The guy who got beat up BY an SEIU guy at a rally in St. Louis wasn’t.

Fascinating…

At the same time, among the sea of tarps under which protesters have been sleeping, a sukkah, a makeshift hut, was erected to celebrate the Jewish holiday of Sukkot.

While Berger’s story was accompanied by three positive photos of Jews at OWS, it didn’t have room for the widely available shot of the “Google Jewish Billionaires” sign (above).

The Occupy Wall Street protests, now in their second month, have increasingly been criticized by a variety of groups, most of them politically conservative, for flashes of anti-Semitism. Among those calling attention to the issue have been the Republican National Committee, Rush Limbaugh and the columnist William Kristol.

But the protests have also, on occasion, had a distinctly Jewish flavor: The encampment has coincided with the busy Jewish holiday season and has witnessed, in its midst or on its edges, a crowded Kol Nidre service on Yom Kippur, festive dancing with a scroll on Simchat Torah on Thursday night, and the sukkah.

The protesters, clustered together in a kind of ad hoc Athenian democracy in the canyons of Lower Manhattan, firmly deny that their demonstrations against corporate greed and the political power of banks exhibit antagonism that singles out Jews.

“You’re going to get a few wackos,” said Aaron Moses Miller, 25, a slender, unemployed man from Ridgewood, Queens, who had been in the park for 16 days. “You can’t help it in a population of this size.”

Mr. Miller, who is Jewish, said that he had not seen the man holding the anti-Semitic signs, but said: “If I had seen him, I would have said something to him. My name is Aaron Moses Miller.”

Jeff Smith, 41, part of the press team for Occupy Wall Street, assailed those who he said ascribed the views of one sign-holder to the entire movement.

But one sign of like kind at a Tea party Rally WAS indicative of the movement was it not? 🙂

That bolded sentence above is ironic, given the media’s treatment of random signs and outbursts by Tea Party protesters as emblematic of the entire movement.

But much as the Tea Party movement initially grappled with accusations of racism, Occupy Wall Street has been consistently confronted with accusations of anti-Semitism. Several conservative Web sites and television programs have shown video of the sign-holder, as well as of a woman at an allied demonstration in Los Angeles who identified herself as a public school teacher and decried “Zionist Jews who are running the big banks and the Federal Reserve.”

These conservative critics have urged President Obama and Representative Nancy Pelosi, the House Democratic leader, to retract their expressions of support for the Wall Street protests.

“Democrats were quick to single out any instances of perceived extremism among Tea Party supporters,” Sean Spicer, the communications director of the Republican National Committee, said in a statement on Tuesday. “But with Occupy Wall Street, they turn a blind eye.”

An Oct. 13 article on the Web site of Commentary, a politically conservative magazine founded by the American Jewish Committee, though no longer affiliated with it, argued that “it isn’t just a few crackpots engaging in anti-Semitism.” The article said that the “main organizer behind the movement — Adbusters editor Kalle Lasn — has a history of anti-Jewish writing.”

Berger didn’t outline the specifics of Alana Goodman’s post: “Back in 2004, he wrote a highly controversial Adbusters article entitled ‘Why Won’t Anyone Say They Are Jewish?’ which peddled some of the more feverish theories about American Jews, neoconservatism, and the Bush administration…”

Berger followed up:

Mr. Lasn did not return a message left on his Adbusters office voice mail in Vancouver, British Columbia. But Patrick Bruner, another member of the Occupy Wall Street press team, said the magazine Adbusters had helped prompt the protest movement with a call for action but otherwise had “not been active at all.” He said the Occupy Wall Street movement rejected any kind of racism or hatred, but also was “open source,” meaning that anyone could take part.

Odd, given that just last week a Times reporter credited Adbusters with launching the movement! (and they are Canadian!)

More defense: Berger then claimed that “Jewish groups that have sensitive antennas for eruptions of bigotry have not criticized the protesters,” making reference to Abraham Foxman of the Anti-Defamation League, who said there were some “manifestations in the movement of anti-Semitism, but they are not expressing or representing a larger view.” (MRC)

Little Fiskers

The Newest News on Stimulus Spending:

A Finnish Electric Car. Yeah, I said Finnish, as in Finland. That’s Obama Stimulus money for you.

Oh, and giving money to Oregon loggers, only people in Oregon don’t get the jobs!

Two more such scandals appeared this week, but these latest outrages feature a new wrinkle — stimulus funds being used to create jobs overseas. In the first example, the Obama administration handed $7.2 million to four Oregon logging companies to hire loggers in a severely depressed industry. But according to a Department of Labor inspector general report, only two of jobs thus funded went to U.S. citizens: “Only two Oregonians were listed on the employer recruitment reports, indicating that workers in Oregon were likely unaware these job opportunities were available. In fact, although 146 U.S. workers were contacted by the three employers regarding possible employment, none were hired. Instead, 254 foreign workers were brought into the country for these jobs.”

I guess that makes them Jobs Americans are not allowed to do. 🙂

Your Tax money at work.

In the second new stimulus program scandal this week, the Obama administration gave electric car maker Fisker Automotive a $529 million loan guarantee to build vehicles in the United States. At the time, Vice President Biden claimed “this is seed money that will return back to the American consumer in billions and billions and billions of dollars in good new jobs.” But the rest of the story came out this week when Fisker officials acknowledged that most of the 500 jobs being created are actually in Finland. Allegedly they couldn’t find a suitable assembly facility here in the United States, despite the fact Detroit is the birthplace of the automotive industry, virtually every major manufacturer from around the world has put factories in this country, and there are thousands of unemployed auto workers here. Obama administration officials approved the transfer of jobs to Finland. (Washington Examiner)

With the approval of the Obama administration, an electric car company that received a $529 million federal government loan guarantee is assembling its first line of cars in Finland, saying it could not find a facility in the United States capable of doing the work. (Meaning, if this bombs like Solyndra guess who’s on the hook? 🙂 )

Vice President Joseph Biden heralded the Energy Department’s $529 million loan to the start-up electric car company called Fisker as a bright new path to thousands of American manufacturing jobs. But two years after the loan was announced, the job of assembling the flashy electric Fisker Karma sports car has been outsourced to Finland.

“There was no contract manufacturer in the U.S. that could actually produce our vehicle,” the car company’s founder and namesake told ABC News. “They don’t exist here.”

Translation: The Obama Anti-Business climate strikes again. But, hey at least we are stimulating jobs in Finland where the unemployment rate is 7.8%.

And what would yet another botched Obama green-jobs-stimulus measure be without cronyism…starring Mr. Green Fallacies himself:

The loan to Fisker is part of a $1 billion bet the Energy Department has made in two politically connected California-based electric carmakers producing sporty — and pricey — cutting-edge autos. Fisker Automotive, backed by a powerhouse venture capital firm whose partners include former Vice President Al Gore, predicts it will eventually be churning out tens of thousands of electric sports sedans at the shuttered GM factory it bought in Delaware.

Would that be Delaware, Finland?

They signed off, he said, so long as he did not spend the federal loan money in Finland— something he says the company has taken care to avoid.

OK, great. The company didn’t spend its money in Finland. But that doesn’t change the fact that the point of the exercise was, ostensibly, to create jobs in America. If the factory itself is in Finland, then clearly the Obama administration still failed, and doled out a bad loan.

Furthermore, there is widespread speculation that the start-up car companies won’t meet preset production quotas–meaning taxpayers money will have, yet again, been wasted:

Yet an audit this year by the Government Accountability Office, the investigative arm of Congress, criticized the Energy Department for not keeping close enough tabs on its fleet of auto loans — including those to Fisker and Tesla — to ensure they meet benchmarks. The funding was issued under the $25 billion Advanced Technology Vehicles Manufacturing loan program, one piece of a giant umbrella of DOE loans and loan guarantees going out the door.

“DOE cannot be assured that the projects are on track to deliver the vehicles as agreed,” said the GAO report examining the department’s ATVM program. “It also means that U.S. taxpayers do not know whether they are getting what they paid for through the loans.”

Yikes. If this is Obama’s idea of a good investment, I hestitate to ask what his stock portfolios look like. (Sorry, Wall Street is evil-except when he’s bailing them out or giving them taxpayer guaranteed loans!)

But it “felt good” and it gave them an hippie eco-high.

Don’t worry, be happy. 🙂

OCCUPY TOURISM

It’s now common to see tourists at Zuccotti Park taking photographs of themselves, with protesters in the background. On a typical day they clog the pedestrian traffic in the area, which is often bustling with financial district employees pushing their way through.

“Right now, we don’t have a goal — except to back away from the system that’s not working,” replied Udeykin, a 23-year-old Russian-born Iowan. “This is a way to feel free, to feel normal.”

Yes, Comrade. Or is that taking pictures with the freaks at the Zoo??

Some nearby businesses are far less enamored of the protesters, and say the hubbub outside their doors is costing them money.

Stacey Tzortzatos, manager of Panini & Co., a casual restaurant that’s normally bustling as it serves financial district clients, said the eatery has been losing business because police barricades discourage customers from coming in, and media vans are blocking the view.

But the biggest problem, she said, was protesters coming in to use the bathroom — “30 at a time.” She said she put locks on the bathroom doors in response.

“They take showers using the sink, they brush their teeth, and they make a huge mess,” she said.

Tzortzatos said she’s been harassed and verbally abused by protesters, who have come in eating donated food.

“I was called `evil’ for asking whether they were customers, when they came in eating their free pizza, smelling so bad,” she said. “It’s a constant battle, and it’s getting worse as the weeks go by.”

After all, they are titled to it.  It’s not like they have any respect for others. It’s not “fair” otherwise.

Horror Quote of the Week: Biden tells CNN he is not closing door to running for president in 2016.

Virginia Democratic Rep. Jim Moran told The Daily Caller on Thursday evening that President Obama should “refinance every home mortgage” without congressional approval in order to “reset the economy.”

Gee, I thought the government started this whole Mortgage mess by meddling? Why yes, they did. Just don’t expect them to remember that. Certainly not a liberal.

Obama has already asked his Council on Jobs to identify areas of the American Jobs Act that can be implemented without congressional authorization.

Yeah, who needs Congress (aka the Republicans) to get in the way of Dear Leaders magnificent plans that have so worked miracles! 🙂

“It, to me, seems like they’re going all-in on a class warfare strategy,” Sen. Ryan said. “And what seems so ironic to me or hypocritical is I just remember — it seemed like yesterday — that Obama was saying things like, ‘We don’t have red states, blue states. We’re the United States of America; I want to be a uniter, not a divider’; ‘Hope and aspiration.’

“What we’re getting is a commitment to division from the president here. We’re getting basically a strategy to divide, to speak to people as if they’re stuck in some class and they’re stuck in their station in life and the government’s new role is to help cope with it. That is so inherently contrary to what we’re about in this country.”

“Preying on [the] emotions of fear, resentment, envy and anger, to me, makes America weaker, not stronger,” he said. “But I guess this seems to be the cards they’re going to play this year and next year — because for some reason or another, they think that’s going to help them, and I just don’t see how that does.”

FEAR IS HOPE.

Unemployment stands at 9.1 percent, with real unemployment closer to 20. Nearly 50 million Americans are on food stamps. We’ve added $4 trillion in new debt in less than three years. And there’s no sign any of this will change soon.

But at least we are giving money to Finland!

FEAR IS HOPE!

The seriousness of the times require serious leaders…and all we have is Barack Obama, Congressional Democrats and a sea of unwashed “gimmie-crats” sleeping in parks demanding more. Welcome to Progressive America.

As more “Green” scandals involving “friendly” treatment of friends and fundraisers for the president emerge, no one with a “D” after his or her name seems to give a damn. Why would they? It’s not their money. Spending other people’s money is fun. Spending two as-yet-unborn generations’ money is even more fun because you won’t be around when they realize what you’ve done to them. It’s the progressive way.

Not all our problems are Obama’s fault, of course. But his progressive “solutions” to the problems he inherited amount to blowing a hole in the side of a sinking ship in hopes of letting the water out. It might seem like a good idea on paper but only if you don’t actually consider the problem in the solution.

In Progressive America, hatred and anger rule. Does someone have more than you do? Protest that outrage. Remember, after the shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, D-Ariz., by the anti-Bush lunatic, when President Obama gave that speech calling for a “new tone” in politics? It was a hopeful moment for a nation reeling from tragedy and sick of name calling. It lasted five minutes.

The failure of progressives to control their tongues, to resist spewing such “tolerance” as “The Tea Party are terrorists,” “Republicans are hostage takers” and of talking-head goons from calling conservative women “whores,” is surprising only if you haven’t been paying attention. You can’t stop hateful rhetoric when it’s who you are.

You don’t even have to be conservative to be on the receiving end of an attack from the progressive mob. Wall Street gave more money to Barack Obama than any other candidate in history, yet the aromatically challenged mob isn’t camped outside 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.; it’s drum circling on Wall Street.

If the protesters truly are angry about bailouts, shouldn’t they protest those who gave them rather than those who took them? If they equate money in politics with bribery, shouldn’t they take issue with those accept the bribes as well as those who give them? After all, it’s only an attempted bribe until it’s accepted.

Progressives tell you the system is corrupt, yet never mention Solyndra, Fisker, et. al. The system isn’t corrupt. A system can’t be anything other than a system. It’s the people who are corrupt. This doesn’t fit the progressive agenda, so you’re not likely to hear much about it. But this is, in fact, the heart of the problem.

The progressive agenda is about control – over everyone and everything. The movement was born of arrogance from people who thought they knew better, thought they were better. They were racists who once looked to eugenics to rid the world of “undesirables.” They were superior in thought and deed – and thus uniquely qualified to determine who was worthy of what in society. That mentality, that profound arrogance, continues to form the basis of modern progressivism.

The United States was founded by and for people who believed in the individual. But to be a progressive is to have zero faith in your fellow human beings, to look down on them. This was exemplified by Vice President Joe Biden this week when he doubled down on his “if Republicans don’t pass the president’s ‘jobs’ bill, rapes and murders will increase exponentially” vitriol.

He, the White House, which publicly stood behind his comments, and progressive talking heads all seem to believe Americans refrain from raping and murdering each other solely because there are police around. They believe we’re all animals, and only a powerful government can protect us from ourselves and each other.

Given that Republicans swept the 2010 elections and President Obama’s approval ratings are fast approaching his waist size, you’d expect reality to set in soon and for him to move to the political center. You’d be wrong. He is so insulated from reality and entrenched in the progressive philosophy that when he told ABC’s Jake Tapper “I believe all the choices we’ve made have been the right ones…” on the economy, he truly believed it.

As the election approaches, and if his poll numbers continue to fade, expect President Obama to redouble his efforts to implement as much of the progressive agenda through executive orders as possible. Expect Democrats in Congress to cheerlead the usurpation of their power and their media allies to cheer his actions when they can and ignore them when they must.

Some say progressives disrespect the Constitution, but you can’t disrespect what you never respected in the first place. The concept of limited executive power is foreign to them…when they’re in power. Should a Republican win next November and try to do half the things President Obama has done through executive order, the outrage from progressives will be, well …fun to watch.(Derek Hunter)

Rejoice. Sit back. Chill out. Obama has your back. Just ignore the noose around your neck and the Hangman standing next to you. It’s all for show anyhow…

Occupy LA protester blames ‘the Zionist Jews’ for ruining America

“Jews have been run out of 109 countries throughout history and we need to run them out of this one.” And that’s just a “fact” according to her

And the Occupy LA orginizer they talk to would not disavow anything.

Absolutely guaranteed if that person had shown up with 1000’s or 10 of 1,000’s of Tea Partiers she would have “represented” the sentiment according to the media and would be on 24/7

But at “Occupy” it’s just a fringe nut that no one has to take responsibility for.

The double standards the media has yet again slap you in the face!

Think life is not as good as it used to be, at least in terms of your wallet? You’d be right about that. The standard of living for Americans has fallen longer and more steeply over the past three years than at any time since the US government began recording it five decades ago.

But don’t worry, that’s the “rich” people’s fault. The Republicans. The Tea party. It sure as hell isn’t Obama’s or the Democrats (who have 2/3 of the legislative power). Just ask their friends in the media, their apparatchiks, or them for that matter.

Bottom line: The average individual now has $1,315 less in disposable income than he or she did three years ago at the onset of the Great Recession – even though the recession ended, technically speaking, in mid-2009. That means less money to spend at the spa or the movies, less for vacations, new carpeting for the house, or dinner at a restaurant.

In short, it means a less vibrant economy, with more Americans spending primarily on necessities. The diminished standard of living, moreover, is squeezing the middle class, whose restlessness and discontent are evident in grass-roots movements such as the tea party and “Occupy Wall Street” and who may take out their frustrations on incumbent politicians in next year’s election.

But don’t worry, that’s the “rich” people’s fault. The Republicans. The Tea party. It sure as hell isn’t Obama’s or the Democrats (who have 2/3 of the legislative power). Just ask their friends in the media, their apparatchiks, or them for that matter. 🙂

Federal employees whose compensation averages more than $126,000 and the nation’s greatest concentration of lawyers helped Washington edge out San Jose as the wealthiest U.S. metropolitan area, government data show.

The U.S. capital has swapped top spots with Silicon Valley, according to recent Census Bureau figures, with the typical household in the Washington metro area earning $84,523 last year. The national median income for 2010 was $50,046.

The figures demonstrate how the nation’s political and financial classes are prospering as the economy struggles with unemployment above 9 percent and thousands of Americans protest in the streets against income disparity. (Bloomberg).

But don’t worry, that’s the “rich” people’s fault. The Republicans. The Tea party. It sure as hell isn’t Obama’s or the Democrats (who have 2/3 of the legislative power). Just ask their friends in the media, their apparatchiks, or them for that matter. 🙂

Does that make Washington D.C the 1%??  🙂   Just asking…

The Great OZ  (Barack) says so. Just Don’t look behind the curtain.

There is a new breed of online activists in the Obama era. They call themselves “pragmatic progressives,” but they’re better known by their enemies’ derisive label: the Obamabots.

Under the mainstream radar and largely on Twitter, the Obamabots are waging a high-intensity guerrilla war against the liberal-leaning journalists and activists who have — as they see it — gone weak in the knees and abandoned the president in his time of need.

Translation for the irrationally impaired: He and the Media aren’t liberal ENOUGH.

The Obamabots are the ragtag digital cavalry riding to the president’s rescue, a cadre of decidedly amateur supporters, people far outside the Beltway and its norms, whose intense loyalty and passion at a moment of wide disaffection can be reminiscent of Sarah Palin’s core of backers.

The best known of the group is a blogger who goes by the handle @shoq. With a respectable 12,000 Twitter followers and an astronomical 173,000 tweets since 2007, Shoq has carved out a modest but real corner of the diverse new media space.

I think I know a few of those guys over at AOL.

The Border

“Where is a terrorist more apt to be found? Not these days on an airplane more likely on the interstate,” said Tennessee Department of Safety & Homeland Security Commissioner Bill Gibbons.

Tuesday Tennessee was first to deploy VIPR simultaneously at five weigh stations and two bus stations across the state.

Yeah, anywhere but the border. We have lots of terrorists (I mean citizens) to find and intimidate there.

The random inspections really aren’t any more thorough normal, according to Tennessee Highway Patrol Colonel Tracy Trott who says paying attention to details can make a difference.

Yeah, but if you see an Illegal Alien, look the other way. I’m sure they will. It’s called “prosecutorial discretion”.

Gee, I though it sounded like the Secret Police to me…But then again, I’m a Tea Partier so I’m already guilty. :0

LIBYA

And did you hear the one about how Obama killed Khaddafi. He sure thinks so.
Obama, facing re-election next year, chalked up Libya as another foreign policy success to place alongside the killing in May of al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden, the drawdown of most US troops from Iraq by the end of the year, and the first phase of a gradual pullout of troops from Afghanistan.

But I thought we were only supporting them, we were weren’t actively engaged in a “war” (and thus he could ignore Congress and wasn’t George W Bush) and that we let others do it?

And this wasn’t “regime change” even if we are dancing around taking credit for killing the leader of a country.

“You have won the revolution” instead — he boasted, “Without putting a single service member on the ground, we achieved our objectives.”

Which isn’t really true, since the CIA was on the ground in Libya, even if uniformed U.S. military personnel weren’t.

April 2011: Rather it seems President Obama and other hawkish elements in NATO (notably French President Sarkozy) have set up a “victory condition” only tangentially related to the war itself. With no expectation that the war could conceivably chase Gadhafi out, it will continue until he either happens to leave or dies of old age. What happens after is anyone’s guess. (antiwar.com)

But it’s part of a theme you should expect to hear as Obama runs for reelection. He tied Gadhafi’s downfall to U.S. successes against al-Qaida, the looming end of the Iraq war and what he described as cost-effective U.S. global leadership. What began as a reflection on the war in Libya wrapped up as a campaign speech. All for a war Obama waged unilaterally, without the blessing of Congress, by maintaining it was never really a war in the first place. (wired)

The War that wasn’t a war, but a victory that was all his doing and he’ll take all the credit for it. Sounds about right for our Dear Leader.

All Warriors are Campaign Warriors! 🙂

Occupy Wall Street Polls

In the first week since the poll was published, the leading reason given so far for the protests is jealousy, capturing 26.2%, or 1,094 of the 4,173 votes cast. (We will run the poll indefinitely. It appears below this story.)

Second, with 1,021 or 24% of the total was “all of the above, which included jealousy, greed, inequality, the economy, politics and the educational system.

Greed was the third most prominent reason, with 934 votes, or 22% of the total.

Economy. It’s tough to find a job out there, especially if you don’t have one. (5.12% / 214 votes)

Educational system. Many have massive student loan debt but no jobs to help pay that off. (2.2% / 92 votes)

Doug Schoen (one of the only rational Democrats left):

Our research shows clearly that the movement doesn’t represent unemployed America and is not ideologically diverse. Rather, it comprises an unrepresentative segment of the electorate that believes in radical redistribution of wealth, civil disobedience and, in some instances, violence. Half (52%) have participated in a political movement before, virtually all (98%) say they would support civil disobedience to achieve their goals, and nearly one-third (31%) would support violence to advance their agenda.

The vast majority of demonstrators are actually employed, and the proportion of protesters unemployed (15%) is within single digits of the national unemployment rate (9.1%).

An overwhelming majority of demonstrators supported Barack Obama in 2008. Now 51% disapprove of the president while 44% approve, and only 48% say they will vote to re-elect him in 2012, while at least a quarter won’t vote.

Fewer than one in three (32%) call themselves Democrats, while roughly the same proportion (33%) say they aren’t represented by any political party.

What binds a large majority of the protesters together—regardless of age, socioeconomic status or education—is a deep commitment to left-wing policies: opposition to free-market capitalism and support for radical redistribution of wealth, intense regulation of the private sector, and protectionist policies to keep American jobs from going overseas.

Sixty-five percent say that government has a moral responsibility to guarantee all citizens access to affordable health care, a college education, and a secure retirement—no matter the cost. By a large margin (77%-22%), they support raising taxes on the wealthiest Americans, but 58% oppose raising taxes for everybody, with only 36% in favor. And by a close margin, protesters are divided on whether the bank bailouts were necessary (49%) or unnecessary (51%).

Thus Occupy Wall Street is a group of engaged progressives who are disillusioned with the capitalist system and have a distinct activist orientation. Among the general public, by contrast, 41% of Americans self-identify as conservative, 36% as moderate, and only 21% as liberal. That’s why the Obama-Pelosi embrace of the movement could prove catastrophic for their party.

But if he can muddy the waters, with his friends in the media, and make Occupiers= Tea Partiers and vice versa then Marxism is acceptable, right? 🙂

After all, the Liberal media is much more pervasive than the Truth. And if you tell a lie often enough it can become the truth even if it isn’t. And that is, after all, most important for re-election.

A recent Occupy Wall Street discussion generated more classroom heat than I expected. Some students identified with protester outrage and applauded the movement against economic injustice. Others suggested that these anarchists and slackers should get jobs and stop begrudging the “one percent” their hard-earned wealth.

The Occupy Wall Street debate is not for the faint of heart, but educators must not shrink from it. (kentucky.com)

I’m sure they felt the same about the Tea Party. 🙂
Just to be “fair” 🙂

After all, they are the same, according to the Leftists and the Leftist media. 🙂

Where’s The Beef?

Why is Mr. RomneyCare even still in the race?

And why do they feel the need to have far left Liberal journalist moderating their debates so they looked like crazed loons?

Are the Republicans just begging to lose like in 2008? I have to wonder.

Hugo Chavez’s Favorite Hollywood Socialist Sympathizer, Sean Penn on The Tea Party and Obama:  “At the end of the day, there’s a big bubble coming out of their head saying, you know, can we just lynch him?”

You Tube Comment:its amazing to see that…..

1. the “TeaParty”,which are people from all walks of life here in America (regular Americans if you will),while never had any clash with Police, taking their trash with them as they leave a rally, have a clear goal (small gov’t) and are from either political spectrum, are call any name in the book and are unamerican,

but

2. those OWS people, who are mostly from the left,Union supported, who clash with police, trash everything, call for violence, have no goal are americans.

And they are celebrated by the Media, now Obama says they they have the endorsement of the Lat Dr. Martin Luther King. (I guess he missed the whole non-violence thing). But it sounds peppy and makes for a good sound bite that the Liberal Media can play 24/7 after all, if you’re against him you must be against Civil Rights, now you wouldn’t want that!! (the fact that it was the Democrats who were holding up Civil Rights legislation in the 1960’s is not to be pointed out or acknowledged because to them that never happened.) 🙂

(KFYI)

And if you needed more proof about how great The Occupiers are, now that the Communist Party of The US have thrown there support to the Occupiers their parent “company”, Communist China (known the world over for being great proponents of anti-government pro-capitalism protests) have endorsed The Occupiers.

BEIJING (AP) — China’s foreign ministry said Monday the Occupy Wall Street movement highlights issues that are worth considering, but that debates generated by the protests should promote global economic growth.

And coming from our biggest Creditor that’s encouraging. 🙂

“We feel that there are issues here that are worth pondering,” said Liu Weimin, a foreign ministry spokesman during a regular briefing in Beijing.

“We have also noticed that in the media there has been a lot of commentary, discussion and reflection. But we think that all of these reflections should be conducive to maintaining the sound and steady development of the world economy,” Liu said, without elaborating.

The state-run Global Times newspaper said in an editorial that the Chinese should “calmly observe the protest movement and the global situation, and not be confused by extreme points of view.”

I know I feel better…

NEW YORK (AP) — The Occupy Wall Street movement has close to $300,000, as well as storage space loaded with donated supplies in lower Manhattan.

Keep this up, they’ll have to protest themselves!! Evil “rich” people. 🙂

So time for a Foodie Moment (where the Great One can’t even get this right):

Barack Obama hosted South Korean President Lee Myung Bak for a state dinner at the White House, and that usually means setting the menu to pay tribute to the guest’s nation. Obama was only off by a few hundred miles or so, as National Review’s Greg Pollowitz pointed out:

The White House has released the menu for tonight’s state dinner for South Korean President Lee Myung Bak, and the main course comes from Japanese cattle bred in Texas. The Texas Wagyu Beef will be served with orange-ginger fondue, sauteed kale, and roasted kabocha squash, according to the White House. The full dinner menu: First Course Butternut Squash Bisque, Honey Poached Cranberries, Virginia Cured Ham, Pumpkin Seed Praline, Crème Fraiche Second Course Early Fall Harvest Salad on Daikon Sheets, MasagoRice Pearl Crispies, Rice Wine Vinaigrette Main Course Texas Wagyu Beef, Orange-Ginger Fondue, Sauteed Kale, Roasted Kabocha Squash Dessert Chocolate Malt Devils Food Layers With Pear and Almond Brittle An American wine will be paired with each course. . .

In case you hadn’t noticed a theme here, Wagyu beef originated in Japan; the American version is a cross-breed originating from Japanese stock.  Likewise, Kabocha squash is also Japanese, as are Daikon radishes.  Masago is actually Icelandic but popular in Japan.  This would be embarrassing enough if it weren’t also for the fact that the Japanese imposed a bloody occupation of the Korean peninsula before and during World War II, which prompted Pollowitz to quip:

What’s next? German beer for when Netanyahu visits? Does the President of the U.S. not know the history of Japanese atrocities in WWII? Koreans in all 57 states would like an explanation.

I think we know the explanation, don’t we?

It’s the Republican’s Fault!!! 🙂

And I leave you with this thought: at OccupySF Speaker: Bank Of America Arresting Customers For Closing Accounts.  🙂

Big Journalism has learned that the Occupy Washington DC movement is working with well-known media members to craft its demands and messaging while these media members report on the movement. Someone has made the emails from the Occupy D.C. email distro public and searchable. The names in the list are a veritable who’s who in media.

Journolist 2.0 includes well known names such as MSNBC’s Dylan Ratigan, Rolling Stone’s Matt Tiabbi who both are actively participating; involvement from other listers such as Bill Moyers and Glenn Greenwald plus well-known radicals like Noam Chomsky, remains unclear. The list also includes a number of Occupy organizers, such as one of the Occupy Wall Street main organizers Kevin Zeese.

No Astroturf here (they just spontaneous generated $300,000 and support from the DNC, Unions, and Liberal Media). Move on…(.org) 🙂

Bad Day For BO

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Obama administration’s signature health overhaul law, under relentless assault by Republicans, has suffered its first major casualty – a long-term care insurance plan.

The program, expected to launch in 2012, had been dogged from the beginning by doubts over its financial solvency.

Proponents, including many groups that fought to pass the health care law, have vowed a vigorous effort to rescue the program, insisting that Congress gave the administration broad authority to make changes. Long-term care includes not only nursing homes, but such services as home health aides for disabled people.

Known as CLASS, the Community Living Assistance Services and Supports program was a long-standing priority of the late Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, D-Mass.

Although sponsored by the government, it was supposed to function as a self-sustaining voluntary insurance plan, open to working adults regardless of age or health. Workers would pay an affordable monthly premium during their careers and could collect a modest daily cash benefit of at least $50 if they became disabled later in life. The money could go for services at home or to help with nursing home bills.

But a central design flaw dogged CLASS. Unless large numbers of healthy people willingly sign up during their working years, soaring premiums driven by the needs of disabled beneficiaries would destabilize it, eventually requiring a taxpayer bailout.

After months insisting that could be fixed, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius finally acknowledged Friday she doesn’t see how.

“Despite our best analytical efforts, I do not see a viable path forward for CLASS implementation at this time,” Sebelius said in a letter to congressional leaders.

The law required the administration to certify that CLASS would remain financially solvent for 75 years before it could be put into place.

But officials said they discovered they could not make CLASS both affordable and financially solvent while keeping it a voluntary program open to virtually all workers, as the law also required.

Monthly premiums would have ranged from $235 to $391, even as high as $3,000 under some scenarios, the administration said. At those prices, healthy people were unlikely to sign up. Suggested changes aimed at discouraging enrollment by people in poor health could have opened the program to court challenges, officials said.

“If healthy purchasers are not attracted … then premiums will increase, which will make it even more unattractive to purchasers who could also obtain policies in the private market,” Kathy Greenlee, the lead official on CLASS, said in a memo to Sebelius. That “would cause the program to quickly collapse.”

Gee, someone just discovered this? My how cluelessly ideological were they? 🙂

You mean government health care isn’t “free” or “cheap”. Gee, no one saw that coming… 🙂

That’s the same conclusion a top government expert reached in 2009. Nearly a year before the health care law passed, Richard Foster, head of long-range economic forecasts for Medicare, warned administration and congressional officials that CLASS would be unworkable. His warnings were disregarded, as President Barack Obama declared his support for adding the long-term care plan to his health care bill.

The demise of CLASS immediately touched off speculation about its impact on the federal budget. Although no premiums are likely to be collected, the program still counts as reducing the federal deficit by about $80 billion over the next 10 years. That’s because of a rule that would have required workers to pay in for at least five years before they could collect any benefits.

“The CLASS Act was a budget gimmick that might enhance the numbers on a Washington bureaucrat’s spreadsheet but was destined to fail in the real world,” said Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky.

Administration officials said Obama’s next budget would reflect the decision not to go forward. Even without CLASS premiums, they said the health care law will still reduce the deficit by more than $120 billion over 10 years.

Kennedy’s original idea was to give families some financial breathing room. Most families cannot afford to hire a home health aide for a frail elder, let alone pay nursing home bills. Care is usually provided by family members, often a spouse who may also have health problems.

“We’re disappointed that (Sebelius) has prematurely stated she does not see a path forward,” AARP, the seniors lobby, said in a statement. “The need for long-term care will only continue to grow.” (and we want to exploit them for it!)

Sebelius said the administration wants to work with Congress and supporters of the program to find a solution. But in a polarized political climate, it appears unlikely that CLASS can be salvaged. Congressional Republicans remain committed to its repeal.

As should we all. The government does need and we should not desire for them the power of life and death.

MORE UNFLATTERING NEWS:

The Treasury has recorded the second highest annual deficit in US history:

The government ran a $1.3 trillion deficit for the budget year that ended last month, the third straight year it has operated more than $1 trillion in the red.  The 2011 budget deficit was the second highest on record. It’s slightly ahead of the previous budget year’s $1.29 trillion deficit but below the $1.41 trillion imbalance record in 2009.  A decade ago, the government was running surpluses and trillion-dollar deficits seemed unimaginable. But those deficits now loom over tense negotiations in Washington.

But don’t worry, That’s Bush, The Republicans, and The Tea Party’s fault. They forced the Keynesian Economics of Socialist Democrats to do it!! 🙂

Billionaire Obama donor backer and major Solyndra investor, George Kaiser, has paid almost zero taxes over the last decade:

the Solyndra scandal is far from Kaiser’s first brush with political controversy. As the Sunlight Foundation’s Bill Allison reports today, Kaiser has become extraordinarily wealthy by taking advantage of the federal tax code in ways that some tax experts – including the IRS – believe to be illegal.  As Allison describes it in his Sunlight post today, “in one six year period, during which he increased his net worth enough to land him on the Forbes list of the 400 wealthiest Americans, Kaiser reported taxable income to the Internal Revenue Service just once, totaling $11,699–equivalent to a full-time hourly wage of $5.62.”  During the 1980s bust in the oil industry in Oklahoma and Texas, Kaiser bought up struggling energy companies whose losses provided him with tax deductions that effectively hid his own income.
The president prattles on endlessly about the rich paying “their fair share.”  Perhaps he should lecture his own buddies first.  Incidentally, during today’s Solyndra hearings on Capitol Hill, a veteran Treasury official admitted he’d never seen a federal loan structured in such a way that taxpayers are “subordinated” to private investors (as was the case with Solyndra, despite the recommendations of OMB, and after the company had already defaulted on the terms of the loan):

But don’t do as I do, do as I say! 🙂

THE OCCUPIERS

Yet more stirring words of wisdom from the mindless hoardes.

DENVER — “We’re really tired of the government fucking everyone over,” one “Occupy Denver” protester told Daily Caller roving Colorado video reporter Kelly Maher this week.

“There’s a lot of stuff that needs to change,” our boy added, “and if it doesn’t, violent revolution will come.”

How to change things for the better? Apparently it just takes a box of bullets and some rope.

If you get the thirteen families that own the world, including George Bush and his administration, get them in front of the White House and hang them and shoot them, because they deserve that.

Talking to protesters, Forrest Gump might have said, is like a box of chocolates: You never know what sort of lunatic, homicidal flavor you’re going to get.

Now there’s one flavor I could do without.

The Sublime & The Ridiculous

If you call a radio talk show and get on the air, you might be recorded by the FBI.

The FBI has awarded a $524,927 contract to a Virginia company to record as much radio news and talk programming as it can find on the Internet.

The FBI says it is not playing big brother by policing the airwaves, but rather seeking access to what airs as potential evidence.

So be careful what you say. Your Freedom of Speech is being recorded for use by Big Brother. 🙂

FBI spokesman Paul Bresson told WMAL.com.   “Its very important to our investigators to know what’s being reported.”

And Super-Progressive Liberal Talk Show host Alan Colmes should be careful what he says. 🙂  NOT!

Now to the sublime:

In Flint, Michigan, Vice President Joe Biden suggested that more rapes and murders could occur if President Barack Obama’s jobs bill is not passed.

“In 2008, when Flint had 265 sworn officers on their police force, there were 35 murders and 91 rapes in this city,” Biden said. “In 2010, when Flint had only 144 police officers, the murder rate climbed to 65 and rapes–just to pick two categories–climbed to 229. In 2011, you now only have 125 shields. God only knows what the numbers will be this year for Flint if we don’t rectify it.”

The fact that went I was growing up in Flint there were 7 auto plants and $250,000 people.

The U.S. Census Bureau reports the 2010 population to be placed at 102,434 and there are no auto plants anymore.

Now that’s Job’s “saved or created”. And passing a jobs bill to benefit unions and state employee pensions a second time  will most certainly prevent more violence! 🙂

The vice president also seemed to suggest that the Obama administration’s first stimulus is the reason rapes and murders were not even higher in 2010 and 2011.” And God only knows what that number would have been had we not been able to get a little bit of help,” Biden said.

Oh God…Where would any rational person start with this crap?

“I don’t know whether Mr. Cantor watched any of the town meetings that we had in August of ‘09,” Hoyer said, according to talkradionews.com.

Any stories about 700 Tea Partiers being arrested or squatting in a park for weeks that becomes a health hazard please let me know. Hint: They don’t exist.

“They were much more confrontational in many respects than these demonstrations are.

Yeah, they are just squatting and whining. Not actively challenging politicians.

This is a democracy and one of the good aspects of democracy is people get the opportunity to express their concerns and hope that action will be taken to address those grievances….

As long as they aren’t “confrontational” like Tea Partiers and actually ask me questions I don’t want to answer.

One of the problems that we have in this country is that a minority controls the United States Senate and that the majority of the representatives of the United States Senate are precluded, too often, from considering the merits of proposals which have a majority support but not 60 votes support,” he said. “I think that’s unfortunate.”

So does that mean when the Democrats had a the majority (even a veto-proof Supermajority) in for the first 15 months of Obama’s reign they were evil, unamerican obstructionists? 🙂

And having the Senate to crush anything the House does and a President who will crush anything that gets passed that is not good enough and it’s the “minorities” fault. (So does that make the Democrats in the House responsible for all those bills the Senate votes down?- after all they are the minority?) 🙂

And when the Democrats were in the minority up until 2007 does that mean THEY were the problem??

Of course not. It’s just yet another silly Democrat Talking Point for the all the little Maoist Minions to repeat mindlessly.

Yesterday at a State Department luncheon featuring the South Korean president, Biden and Hoyer are sharing a table with Lewis B. Kaden, the vice chairman of Citigroup bank, Michael K. Wirth, Chevron Corporation’s executive vice president for Downstream & Chemicals, and banker James B. Flaws, vice chairman and chief financial officer of Corning Incorporated.

Lunch with Devil. And I’m sure they hit him up for a little scratch. 🙂

Old and busted: Jobs “saved or created.”  New hotness: Jobs “supported.”  In attempting to advance the argument for Barack Obama’s new jobs stimulus plan, the White House has decided to create a new term that has, er, even less meaning than their previous measure:

The American Jobs Act Will Support Nearly 400,000 Education Jobs—Preventing Layoffs and Allowing Thousands More to Be Hired or Rehired: The President’s plan will more than offset projected layoffs, providing support for nearly 400,000 education jobs—enough for states to avoid harmful layoffs and rehire tens of thousands of teachers who lost their jobs over the past three years.

Read, “government union employees”. Your job, f*ck that. Who cares!! Your boss is an evil capitalist pig anyhow! You aren’t a government union employee. He has to protect his union brethren like he did with the First Stimulus so they will kiss his butt and vote for him. He’s buying votes, not “jobs”.

The Administration then points to $30 billion in spending contained in the proposed American Jobs Act. The purpose of this spending, as specified in the bill text, is to “prevent teacher layoffs and support the creation of additional jobs in public early childhood, elementary, and secondary education in the 2011-12 and 2012-13 school years.”

Does this give readers a sense of deja vu?  The block grants in Porkulus also assumed that states would simply lay off teachers and first responders as a result of large-scale budget deficits in the throes of the Great Recession.  That’s where jobs “saved and created” originated; Obama and his team meant public-sector employees in states and local governments.  Only those organizations employ a lot more people than just teachers, police officers, and fire fighters; most states have vast bureaucracies that ended up getting “saved” thanks to the infusion of cash that allowed legislatures to put off tough decisions on the size and nature of government during the economic crisis.

Well, the acute economic crisis is over.  What’s the excuse for procrastination now?  Instead of having the states take responsibility for tough budget decisions, Obama wants to let states like Illinois and California off the hook by forcing other states to subsidize their bad budgeting decisions.  Why?  Take a look at the recent history of the Electoral College for one reason, and the fact that most of these bureaucrats belong to public-employee unions like SEIU and AFCSME for another reason.  That’s what Obama is “supporting.”  Let’s recall the extensive reporting in 2009 that showed that jobs “saved or created” were a myth, even in the public sector.

As the series of Porkulus fables proved, that assumption failed badly with “saved or created,” and there’s no reason to believe it will work any better with “jobs supported.” (Hot air)

SOLYNDRA

(CNN) – President Obama Monday said he does not regret a half-billion dollar government loan to the now-bankrupt solar energy company Solyndra and vigorously defended his administration’s policy of providing assistance to similar entities.

“No I don’t,” the president said when asked directly if he regretted the $535 billion federal loan guarantee in 2009. “Because if you look at the overall portfolio of loan guarantees that had been provided, overall it’s doing well. And what we always understood is that not every single business is going to succeed in clean energy.”

Half a Billion $$$ down the crapper. No big Deal. Except…

President Obama was warned by his top economic advisors about the financial and political risks of the Energy Department loan guarantee program that boosted the company’s rapid ascent.  At a White House meeting in late October, Lawrence H. Summers, then director of the National Economic Council, and Timothy F. Geithner, the Treasury secretary, expressed concerns that the selection process for federal loan guarantees wasn’t rigorous enough and raised the risk that funds could be going to the wrong companies, including ones that didn’t need the help.

…In late October 2010, administration officials took their opposing views directly to Obama. In preparation, a memo was drafted by Summers, who remained wary of the program, and two others who were more supportive: then-energy advisor Carol Browner and Ron Klain, then chief of staff to Vice President Joseph Biden. The memo laid out their different concerns and options to fix a “broken process” for getting loans approved.

…Government audits in recent years have found problems in the implementation of the program. A July 2010 report by the Government Accountability Office found that the department committed to back the loans without completing required studies of market, legal and technical issues.  “Without this information, it is not clear that the program could have fully evaluated the risk of the loans it committed to,” said Frank Rusco, an analyst for the GAO.
This story will leave a mark for a number of reasons.  First of all, it indicates that President Obama himself was warned — directly and specifically — about the systemic hazards inherent in broadening and expediting the “green energy” loan program.  Among those admonishing Obama against moving forward were Larry “There’s no adult in charge” Summers, and Tim “This Second Stimulus is a Bargain!” Geithner.  The president discarded their advice, the White House gave a green light to the loans, and the rest is history.

Bush-era DOE officials rejected Solyndra’s loan application prior to Obama’s inauguration in January of 2009.  A few months later, Obama OMB actuaries reached a similar conclusion — arguing that the $535 Billion deal was “not ready for prime time,” and accurately predicting that Solydra would implode in September of 2011.

(And it did!!)

The Solyndra ticking time bomb was discovered and repeatedly flagged as too risky by two separate administrations.  Every conceivable red flag was flapping in a stiff wind, yet the loan was fast-tracked anyway because Obama’s political team insisted on it.  They now claim major Obama donor George Kaiser’s four visits to the White House immediately before the approval had nothing whatsoever to do with the decision.  It’s premature to declare that a giant lie, but it sure smells like one.  Especially since the White House was complicit in masking the company’s tail-spinning finances as recently as this summer. (townhall)

“Hindsight is always 20/20,” said Obama to Stephanopoulos, even as his remarks indicated that he would gladly make the same mistake again. He offered no apology to taxpayers while promising more grand gambles with their money in the future: “… the fact of the matter is that if we don’t get behind clean energy, if we don’t get behind advanced battery manufacturing, if we’re not the ones who are creating the cars of the future, then we’re not going to be able to make stuff here in the United States of America. And one of the most important things that I want to do over the next several years is restore a sense that America can manufacture, but we don’t just purchase stuff from someplace else, but we’re also exporting to other countries.”

According to this ludicrous attempt at uplift, Obama is making America more competitive in the global marketplace one bankruptcy at a time.

But he had the best of intentions and it “felt good” so it’s no big deal.

Like a good socialist ideologue, he is impervious to reality and treats any setback as a reason to expand rather than end the cause. Last week, his Department of Energy shoveled out the door more money for green jobs. What will happen with those billions is anybody’s guess.

With the Solyndra scandal already beyond the boiling point, the Department of Energy pushed through nearly $6 billion more in green energy loans in the final hours of the maligned program.  One of those was to another California based company, SunPower, who just three weeks earlier had publicly announced plans to build its 320,000 square foot manufacturing plant in Mexico.

The Mexico plant will produce solar panels to be shipped back to California for a proposed “solar ranch” in San Luis Obispo County that will have a grand total of 15 permanent presumably American jobs.  That works out to $82.6 million per job created.

Like Solyndra, SunPower is in a perilous financial condition.  SunPower’s stock price has tumbled 94% from the once glory-days of 2007 when the company was worth $13 billion.  Based on July 2011 financial reports, the current market capitalization of the company is $800 million and it owes $820 million in debt.  You can find a further explanation of what that means in the dictionary under “insolvent.”

Rep. George Miller (D-CA), the top ranking Democrat on the House Education and Workforce Committee and a member of the Democrats’ Leadership in the House has been an unabashed cheerleader for SunPower – and coincidentally, his son is also SunPower’s Washington lobbyist.  Although SunPower didn’t score a visit from Barack Obama or Joe Biden as Solyndra did, Miller managed to showcase the company to Secretary of Interior Ken Salazar who said “the path to a clean energy economy starts here.”  Well, not exactly Mr. Secretary – it will start 350 miles to the south; in Mexico.

Speaking of Mexico:

The Obama Justice Department has recently awarded millions of dollars in politically-motivated grants with a chunk of the money going to community groups that help illegal immigrants.

The federal agency charged with enforcing the law and defending the nation’s interests dedicated even more taxpayer money to help illegal aliens in the last few months, JW found. Just last month the New York-based Vera Institute of Justice got nearly $3 million <http://www.usaspending.gov/search?query=&searchtype=&formFields=eyJSZWNpcGllbnROYW1lTGNhc2UiOlsiVmVyYSBJbnN0aXR1dGUgT2YgSnVzdGljZSAgSW5jLiJdfQ> for a “legal orientation program” for detained aliens.

Other open borders groups also got money from the DOJ, including the California-based National Immigration Law Center, which is dedicated to fighting “draconian restrictions on immigrants’ rights” <http://www.nilc.org/nilcinfo/index.htm> and boasts about having a “strong presence in Washington D.C.” The DOJ gave it $66,000  this year for “immigration-related employment discrimination public education.” Last spring the group got a similar DOJ grant for $65,453 .

But don’t worry, be happy. You can’t possible do anything in live without Government…
