The Very Model of the Perfect Modern Progressive Liberal

Good thing they were white, otherwise we might have another race riot on our hands…

(sarcasm, not callousness or is it both?) Warning: extreme cynicism ahead. The Politically Correct will have their head explode with “offense”.

ROANOKE, Va. (CBSDC)He planned it all so carefully — a choreographed execution of two former colleagues, broadcast live to a horrified television audience. Hours later, he shared his own recording of the killing worldwide on social media.

Vester Lee Flanagan’s own video shows him approaching WDBJ reporter Alison Parker and cameraman Adam Ward, gun in hand, as they conduct an interview. He points the gun at Parker and then at Ward, but he waits patiently to shoot until he knows that Parker is on camera, so she will be gunned down on air.

TV viewers heard about the first eight of 15 shots. They saw Parker scream and run, and heard her crying “Oh my God!” as she fell. Ward fell, too, and the camera he had been holding on his shoulder captured a fleeting image of the suspect holding a handgun.

Franklin County Shooter Image 2

That man, authorities said, was Flanagan — a former staffer who used the on-air name of Bryce Williams and was fired by WDBJ, a man who always was looking for reasons to take offense, colleagues recalled. He fled the scene but then posted his own 56-second video of the murders on a Twitter account labeled @bryce_williams7 and Facebook.

He later ran off Interstate 66, just outside of D.C., while being pursued hundreds of miles away and was captured. He died around 1:30 p.m. at Inova Fairfax Hospital of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was listed in critical condition for a couple of hours.

A Virginia state trooper located Flanagan driving on I-66 using license plate recognition equipment.

State Police Sgt. Rick Garletts says the trooper followed Flanagan until backup arrived, then turned on her flashing lights. The suspect tried to evade her but after a couple of minutes, he ran off the road into the median. That’s where he was found with the self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Hope he wasn’t white, because a White Cop and a black “victim” always starts a race war these days thanks to the Leftists.

Wednesday’s on-air murders reverberated far from central Virginia because that’s just what the killer wanted — not just to avenge perceived wrongs, but to gain maximum, viral exposure. He used his insider’s knowledge of TV journalism against his victims – a 24-year-old reporter who was a rising star and a 27-year-old cameraman engaged to a producer who watched the slaughter live from the control room.

Flanagan’s planning may have started weeks ago when, ABC News said, a man claiming to be Bryce Williams called repeatedly, saying he wanted to pitch a story and needed fax information. He sent ABC’s newsroom a 23-page fax two hours after the 6:45 a.m. shooting that was part-manifesto, part-suicide note — calling himself a gay black man who had been mistreated by people of all races, and saying he bought the gun two days after nine black people were killed in a June 17 shooting at a Charleston church. The fax also included admiration for the gunmen in mass killings at places like Virginia Tech and Columbine High School in Colorado.

Remember, kiddies, guns kill people, not people with guns. 🙂

And he was an ‘oppressed’ “victim of WASP hatred so he’s the good guy right?

“White Privilege” and all that.

He was a ticking Politically Correct “victim’ of the evil White Privilege, Anti-Gay Christian World and he just went off, right?

It wasn’t his fault. It’s the evil racist, anti- gay white controlled society’s fault.

He’s not a Leftist programmed with self-loathing waiting to go off.

Nope. Not at all.

Anyone wanna order a pizza?

He described himself as a “human powder keg,” that was “just waiting to go BOOM!!!!”

President Barack Obama says the fatal on-air shooting is heartbreaking.

But it’s precisely what he’s been working for all these years. It’s his Agenda. He must secretly be very proud.

Obama says “it breaks my heart every time” he reads or hears about these kinds of incidents.

Except when it’s, say Trayvon Martin or Ferguson Or Baltimore, etc.

White people shooting Black people is so much easier on his Agenda.

“What we know is that the number of people who die from gun-related incidents around this country dwarfs any deaths that happen through terrorism,” he said.

See, there’s that AGENDA roaring it’s little head. We are the problem. We should should be put down. The Government needs to control us all. Terrorism is nothing to worry about.

It’s you gun toting maniacs that are the problem!

Parker and Ward were a regular team, providing stories for the station’s “Mornin’” show on everything from breaking news to feature stories on subjects like child abuse. Their live spot Wednesday was nothing out of the ordinary: They were interviewing a local official at an outdoor shopping mall for a tourism story before the shots rang out.

The extraordinary from the ordinary.

I wonder if anyone from the Administration wound this guy up. Naw, probably just the Liberal Media… 🙂

As Parker screamed and Ward collapsed, Ward’s camera kept rolling, capturing the image of the suspect pointing the gun. WDBJ quickly switched to the anchor back at the station, clearly shocked, who told viewers, “OK, not sure what happened there.”

“We heard screaming and then we heard nothing,” Jeff Marks, the station’s general manager, said during the WDBJ broadcast.

Parker and Ward died at the scene. Their interview subject, Vicki Gardner, the head of the Smith Mountain Lake Regional Chamber of Commerce, also was shot. She emerged from surgery later Wednesday in stable condition.

Flanagan, 41, who was fired from WDBJ in 2013, was described by the station’s president and general manager, Jeffrey Marks, as an “an unhappy man” and “difficult to work with,” always “looking out for people to say things he could take offense to.”

The Very Model of the Perfect Modern Progressive Liberal!!

Obama and Co must be so proud. The Politically Correct should erect a monument in his honor because he’s everything they’ve ever wanted.

They were white “racists” and he was a Gay Black Man. Throw in cisgender and you’d have a trifecta.

“Eventually after many incidents of his anger coming to the fore, we dismissed him. He did not take that well,” Marks said. He recalled that police had to escort Flanagan out of the building because he refused to leave when he was fired.

But since he was black and gay, he was politically correct to be offended. They should have given a promotion instead. 🙂

Tweets posted Wednesday on the gunman’s Twitter account — since suspended — described workplace conflicts with both victims. He said he filed a complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission against Parker, and that Ward had reported him to human resources.

The only thing missing was a little “Allah Ackbar” and it would have been perfect. The media would have ignored him with fierce determination then.

Marks said Flanagan alleged that other employees made racially tinged comments to him, but that his EEOC claim was dismissed and none of his allegations could be corroborated.

But they are White, of course they made racist remarks, They’re White!! DUH! 🙂

“We think they were fabricated,” the station manager said.

White Privilege strikes again!

Dan Dennison, now a state government spokesman in Hawaii, was the WDBJ news director who hired Flanagan in 2012 and fired him in 2013, largely for performance issues, he said.

I’d says his Politically Correct performance should get a 10.

“We did a thorough investigation and could find no evidence that anyone had racially discriminated against this man,” Dennison said. “You just never know when you’re going to work how a potentially unhinged or unsettled person might impact your life in such a tragic way.”

Yeah, he might even be in the Military, say Fort Hood.

Court records and recollections from former colleagues at a half-dozen other small-market stations where he bounced around indicate that Flanagan was quick to file complaints. He was fired at least twice after managers said he was causing problems with other employees.

But a quick “offense” when no has occurred is precisely what The Left wants. He’s a martyr to their Agenda.

They should build a shrine to him.

A former co-worker of Flanagan says he was “off-kilter” and that he thought news anchoring was about “acting.”

It is about acting. Acting like your not an Orwellian Propagandist. That you’re a “journalist”. That takes acting talent.

Kimberly Moore Wilmoth worked with Flanagan in 1999 when he was at a Tallahassee TV station. She said Wednesday that “he didn’t laugh at our jokes or at himself when he would make a mistake.”

Because it was all YOUR fault! 🙂

Wilmoth describes Flanagan as a loner who didn’t socialize with other reporters. She says he got mad when co-workers made light of on-air mistakes. She recounted one story in which he filmed an elderly man trapped inside a car during a flood even though the man was calling out for help.

She says: “Instead of helping the man, he used the man as a prop.”

So he was the perfect Leftist then!! They use everyone as a prop for their agenda.

Flanagan sued WTWC-TV in north Florida in March 2000. The lawsuit claimed that a producer called him a “monkey” in 1999 and that other black employees had been called the same name by other workers.

Seeing racism everywhere. Such a lovely product of Leftist education. He must have been an A+ student.

He also claimed that an unnamed white supervisor at the station said black people were lazy because they did not take advantage of scholarships to attend college.

See, he was the perfect “victim” of “white privilege”.

The station generally denied the allegations of discrimination and said it had legitimate reasons for ending Flanagan’s employment, including poor performance, misbehavior with regard to co-workers, refusal to follow directions, use of profanity and budgetary reasons.

But mostly it was because he was Black and Gay. Don’t kid yourself! 🙂

Both Parker and Ward grew up in the Roanoke area, attended high school there and later interned at the station. After Parker’s internship, she moved to a smaller market in Jacksonville, North Carolina, before returning to WBDJ. She was dating Chris Hurst, an anchor at the station and had just moved in with him.

“We were together almost nine months,” Hurst posted on Facebook. “It was the best nine months of our lives. We wanted to get married. We just celebrated her 24th birthday. She was the most radiant woman I ever met.”

So it was all her fault! She was White, it had to be her fault, right?

Ward, who played high school football, was a devoted fan of his alma mater, Virginia Tech. His colleagues said he rarely, if ever, missed a game. They called him a “happy-go-lucky guy” — even during the early morning hours that are the proving ground for so many beginning journalists.

He was exercising his “white privilege”.

Ward’s fiancee, station producer Melissa Ott, was in the control room when the shots rang out, marking her last day on the job. He had planned to follow her to her new job in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The land of Confederate Racists!

In an interview with CNN, Marks said: “It’s hard to imagine, isn’t it? She was moving on to a station in Charlotte. It was going to be a day of celebration.”

More “white privilege”. It just has to stop! 🙂

Marks helped lead the live coverage Wednesday after the station confirmed its two employees were dead. He said he and his staff covered the story despite their grief, to honor their slain colleagues.

“Our hearts are broken,” he said. “Our sympathy goes to the entire staff here, but also the parents and family of Alison Parker and Adam Ward, who were just out doing their job today.” (CBS Radio)

And Vester Lee Flanagan was doing the job the Left had programmed him for years to do.

He was an angry, discriminated against Gay Black man in a “white privilege” world. How unfair was that!

White cop shoots violent Black criminal: It’s a race issue.
Black criminal shoots unarmed White people: It’s a gun control issue.

Yes, Obama, you built this. And yes, Obama, if you had a son, he’d think just like this guy.

You must be so proud. 🙂

Lost Conversations

Because RFRA isn’t discriminatory, along with the fact that there’s no widespread discrimination against gay Americans in states with no public accommodation statues–the left’s argument makes no sense.  This post-apocalyptic scenario would have happened long ago–and it hasn’t.

But, it could according to the Left if the don’t nuke everyone who even thinks of defying them.

Nevertheless, some of of fellow citizens on the left continue to go indiscriminately insane. Memories Pizza in Walkerton, Indiana soon found themselves under nuclear attack. The O’Connor family, which owns the shop, became the target of death threats. They’ve subsequently been forced underground. It all started when ABC 57 reporter Alyssa Marino asked Crystal O’Connor if she would cater a gay wedding. O’Connor said no, but added that her establishment would certainly serve gay customers; a point that isn’t mentioned until the final sentence of Marino’s article:

“If a gay couple came in and wanted us to provide pizzas for their wedding, we would have to say no,” says Crystal O’Connor of Memories Pizza. She and her family are standing firm in their beliefs.

The O’Connors have owned Memories Pizza in Walkerton for 9 years.

It’s a small-town business, with small-town ideals.

“We are a Christian establishment,” says O’Connor.

The O’Connor family prides themselves in owning a business that reflects their religious beliefs.

“We’re not discriminating against anyone, that’s just our belief and anyone has the right to believe in anything,” says O’Connor.

The O’Connor family told ABC 57 news that if a gay couple or a couple belonging to another religion came in to the restaurant to eat, they would never deny them service.

The O’Connors say they just don’t agree with gay marriages and wouldn’t cater them if asked to.

The Liberal “journalist” is the one who started this by using “gotcha” yellow journalism in the first place. But I bet she’s a hero at ABC 57 for “exposing” the intolerant underbelly of mean-spirited, discriminatory, evil Christians. Boo Hiss… 🙂

Some people have threatened arson against the pizzeria, or have issued death threats, which caused this family to tragically head for the bunker. I mean what else can you do when the conversation is boiled down to “if you don’t agree with me, I’ll burn your business down, or kill you.” We’ve certainly reached another low point. Thankfully, a GoFundMe page was established by Dana Loesch and her crew over at The Blaze for the O’Connor family, which has accumulated almost $1 million in donations.  Last night, the page was closed, but not after ending its run with nearly $850,000 in donations.

Yet, that’s not after another pernicious–and unhinged–hypothesis from the left emerged about the donation page emerged; the family did this on purpose so it’s a scam (I want to jump out of a window now).

This childish conspiracy theory was rampant on the leftist comment boards for the last couple of days after it became apparently they lost the battle to nuke this family back into the stone age on their “righteous” vengeance.

Loesch noted that a petition has been filed to remove the O’Connor GoFundMe page. Allahpundit facetiously noted that if this shoddy conspiracy theory is true, O’Connor is the “Gone Girl of religious liberty.” But added that in reality, the leftys are just furious that O’Connor and her family haven’t been ruined.

There was even a some kind of counter GoFundMe set up by the extreme Leftists. I didn’t investigate it but I saw it mentioned.

Is this the End Of Discussion in America?

Yes. Liberal don’t discuss. They state what they want, when they want it and if you don’t give it to them right f*cking NOW you will be nuked into oblivion by their righteous wrath.

Moreover, why are liberals so enthralled with making those with whom they disagree, like Memories Pizza, disappear?  Even liberal Bill Maher is unnerved by this attitude on the left. If liberals think it’s reprehensible to deny gays a wedding cake, how do they feel about a baker being sued for not writing anti-gay slogans on one? What about Muslim bakers refusing service to gay couples? Steven Crowder examined this in Dearborn, Michigan, asking Muslim bakers to make a cake for his fake “gay wedding.” They all refused. Guy and Mary Katherine Ham will detail all of this in due time, but this recent foray into cultural chaos shows that we’ve lost the ability to have serious conversations.

Gov. Mike Pence of Indiana asked the legislature to pass an unnecessary clarification bill, which passed earlier this week.

They caved.

Wilco found it significant enough to reschedule their cancelled event in Indianapolis.

And will be sold out and hailed a hero of The Left. Now that’s a slick capitalist move. 🙂

UPDATE: Alix Bryan, a CBS social media staffer from their Richmond station, reported the GoFundMe page for fraud “just in case.

The Commisars

Well, we won’t have the actual Ministry of Truth in full view just yet. But the fact that they were bold enough to even propose it and many “journalists” and other government and Congressional figures had no problem with it should a shiver down your spine.

The Federal Communications Commission will amend a proposed study of newsrooms in South Carolina after outcry over what some called “invasive questions,” the commission’s chairman said Friday.

The survey was meant to study how and if the media is meeting the public’s “critical information needs” on subjects like public health, politics, transportation and the environment. Now, FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler said questions about news philosophy and editorial judgment will be removed from the survey and media owners and reporters will no longer be questioned.

“Any suggestion the Commission intends to regulate the speech of news media is false,” FCC spokeswoman Shannon Gilson said Friday in a statement, adding that a revised study will be released within the next few weeks.

FOR NOW. We just have to work out a better way to approach it. The frog was thrown in the boiling water and he jumped out so we need a different approach to insure he won’t jump out before he’s boiled to death.

The Justice Department announced Friday it is revising its rules for obtaining records from the news media in leak investigations, promising that in most instances the government will notify news organizations beforehand of its intention to do so.

Because we’ve gotten so much for spying on the and persecuting them. We need a less invasive and less public way of spying on them and then persecuting the offenders.

And the fact that this was all started by “journalism” schools who were not happy with opposition news reporting should terrify you.

Journalism as it was practiced for 200+ years is dead. Now it’s just propaganda.

And, especially on the Left, the Freedom of Speech only extends to their Speech, not yours.

The move to police the newsrooms is an effort to bring back the now-defunct “Fairness Doctrine,” which forces station managers to air unpopular views outside the wishes of both owners and viewers.

Aka, get the opposition off the air. After all, would the FCC demand that MSNBC give equal treatment to conservatives? or would it just demand that FOX give equal time to The Far Left Administration cronies??

D’Oh!

Under the banner of minority representation (OF COURSE!), FCC’s plan to police America’s newsrooms was to dispatch politically connected contractors from a company called Social Solutions International to conduct a “Multi-Market Study of Critical Information Needs.”

They would interrogate America’s editors and reporters in TV, radio and even newspapers about how they decide which stories to report, all to find bias in need of a government remedy.

After all, you’re all racists & sexists anyhow.

The FCC insists the study is just a quest for information to be given on a “voluntary” basis, but with its power to issue licenses swaying over the heads of editors and reporters, it’s anything but voluntary.

I will voluntarily hold a loaded gun to your head. Now you can say what you want or you can say what I want you to say, your choice. 🙂

The plan was so bad the FCC was forced to issue a statement Friday backtracking on the idea, claiming in its press release that it was “Setting the Record Straight On The Draft Study” (as if the problem was bad reporting rather than an atrocious idea).

It’s not out fault you got mad at us or misunderstood what we were trying to do. Oh, sorry, I’ll put that gun down for now…Until I come up with a better way to extort you, Like I did with ObamaCare.

“My staff has engaged in a careful and thorough review of the Research Design with the contractor to ensure that the inquiries closely hew to the mandate of Section 257. While the Research Design is a tool intended to help the Commission consider effective, pro-competitive policies that would encourage new entrants, its direction need not go beyond our responsibilities. We continue to work with the contractor to adapt the study in response to these concerns and expect to complete this work in the next few weeks.”

Well, that was a lot of smoke and mirrors BS that sounds a lot like the excuses for the ObamaCare Website failure, especially since this study first came to light over 6 months ago and no one on this “research design” team had no issues with the “design” until the opposition media firestormed them!

We didn’t know, we’re sorry. We’ll try again later.

We need to change our methodology and get better optics to successfully pitch the idea that New Rooms, and bloggers need to be monitored for their content.

Be Afraid, Be very Afraid.

Orwell: “If you want a vision of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a
human face – forever.”

ARE YOU NOW OR HAVE YOU EVER BEEN??? 🙂

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Not the liberal Left’s version:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of Any religion (and will mock the free exercise thereof); or abridging the freedom of LIBERAL PROGRESSIVE speech, or of the LIBERAL PROGRESSIVE press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble to worship the LIBERAL PROGRESSIVES, any assembly in opposition must therefore be “terrorism” or “racism” and must be considered sedition, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances against Corporations and to seek “social justice” at all costs. 🙂

So be careful of pots of waters that may boil, The FCC is in the Kitchen with a recipe for Frog stew.

Political Cartoons by Bob Gorrell

Political Cartoons by Nate Beeler

What A Week

This is the most important week of President Obama’s bid for a second term in November.

Consider:

●The Supreme Court will rule not only on the constitutionality of Obama’s landmark health-care law, but the highest court in the country also will hand down judgment on Arizona’s stringent illegal immigration law.

●Congress will be forced into action (or inaction) on federal student loans and highway projects — both of which will expire within the next week.

●The House will vote on whether to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress due to his refusal to turn over some documents related to the “Fast and Furious” gunrunning operation.

Any one of those issues — in isolation — would be a major political event with resultant consequences on the presidential race. Combined them all in the space of a week and we may well look back at this coming seven days as where/when Obama’s second term bid was made/broken.

“We are in a short period right now where the candidates and the terms of the presidential debate will be defined, with several critical issues coming to a head and voters’ perceptions of the economy, and who will best deal with it, clarifying,” said Steve Rosenthal, a longtime Democratic strategist. (WP)

But don’t worry, the Liberal media will blow it off, blames someone else or just plain go “eh, so what..” because that’s what liberals do when they are repudiated.
The Spin should Obama lose big should be enough to stop the Milky Way from spinning.
After all, ObamaCare was as ABC’s Charlie Gibson in December 2009 that “this will be the single most important piece of domestic legislation passed since Social Security.”
But he’s a “journalist”. 🙂
The latest AP/GfK poll showed that only 33 percent of Americans support the plan while 47 percent oppose it.
Barack Obama 2012: Elect me and I’ll spend the political capital of my second term fixing the unpopular, unconstitutional health care law that I wasted the political capital of my first term pushing through. Then I’ll get to the issues that you care about with whatever diminished political capital I have left.(DC)
But don’t worry, the Liberals won’t mention it and certainly no “journalist” will.

In Congress, time is running out on a long-standing stalemate — what else is new — over funding for federal highway projects, and a dispute over the interest rate paid on federal student loans, which is set to double on July 1 if no action has taken.

Obama, who is doing his best to run against the unpopular Republican Congress at the moment, seized on both issues during his weekly Saturday address. “This makes no sense,” Obama said of the impasse. “It’s up to the House . . . to put aside partisan posturing, end the gridlock, and do what’s right for the American people.”

Yeah, the Republican passed a bill, the Democrats didn’t like it so they ignored it completely and blamed the Republicans for “obstructing” the process.

That’s how things are done (or not) in Washington D.C. these days.

And of course, there’s SB1070, the state level version of the Federal laws that are so “racist”.

Holder held in contempt (since he has loads of it for everyone else) unless at 11:59:59 he gives in but don’t bet on it. I wouldn’t especially with Obama who “knew nothing” about it has extended his Executive Privilege that says he did to be a legitimate use and not just a political ploy to delay it after the election. 🙂

WH SpokesKid Jay Carney: “We absolutely agree with the need to find out why Fast and Furious happened …”

“… and why it was employed in the previous administration.”

It was, after all a botched Bush Administration operation… 🙂

Oh, and the Muslim Brotherhood, radical Muslims with ties to Al-Qaeda, take Egypt a year and half after Obama’s glorious “Arab Spring”.

So it should be a fun week. 🙂

Then there’s :

Godfather of global warming hysteria admits he was “unduly alarmist”

Two months ago, James Lovelock, the godfather of global warming, gave a startling interview to msnbc.com in which he acknowledged he had been unduly “alarmist” about climate change.

Lovelock acknowledged, “the problem is we don’t know what the climate is doing. We thought we knew 20 years ago.” Now, Lovelock has given a follow-up interview to the UK’s Guardian newspaper in which he delivers more bombshells sure to anger the global green movement, which for years worshipped his Gaia theory and apocalyptic predictions that billions would die from man-made climate change by the end of this century.

Lovelock still believes anthropogenic global warming is occurring and that mankind must lower its greenhouse gas emissions, but says it’s now clear the doomsday predictions, including his own (and Al Gore’s) were incorrect.

He responds to attacks on his revised views by noting that, unlike many climate scientists who fear a loss of government funding if they admit error, as a freelance scientist, he’s never been afraid to revise his theories in the face of new evidence. Indeed, that’s how science advances.

Among his observations to the Guardian:

(1) A long-time supporter of nuclear power as a way to lower greenhouse gas emissions, which has made him unpopular with environmentalists, Lovelock has now come out in favour of natural gas fracking (which environmentalists also oppose), as a low-polluting alternative to coal.

As Lovelock observes, “Gas is almost a give-away in the U.S. at the moment. They’ve gone for fracking in a big way. This is what makes me very cross with the greens for trying to knock it … Let’s be pragmatic and sensible and get Britain to switch everything to methane. We should be going mad on it.” (Kandeh Yumkella, co-head of a major United Nations program on sustainable energy, made similar arguments last week at a UN environmental conference in Rio de Janeiro, advocating the development of conventional and unconventional natural gas resources as a way to reduce deforestation and save millions of lives in the Third World.)

(2) Lovelock blasted greens for treating global warming like a religion.

“It just so happens that the green religion is now taking over from the Christian religion,” Lovelock observed. “I don’t think people have noticed that, but it’s got all the sort of terms that religions use … The greens use guilt. That just shows how religious greens are. You can’t win people round by saying they are guilty for putting (carbon dioxide) in the air.”

(3) Lovelock mocks the idea modern economies can be powered by wind turbines.

As he puts it, “so-called ‘sustainable development’ … is meaningless drivel … We rushed into renewable energy without any thought. The schemes are largely hopelessly inefficient and unpleasant. I personally can’t stand windmills at any price.”

(4) Finally, about claims “the science is settled” on global warming: “One thing that being a scientist has taught me is that you can never be certain about anything. You never know the truth. You can only approach it and hope to get a bit nearer to it each time. You iterate towards the truth. You don’t know it. (Toronto Sun)

HERESY! They will have to disavow their own God! 🙂

Bet no one in the liberal media listens. They are, after all, “journalists”.

Persistance

I was woken up in the middle of the night think about something that Morgan Gendel (Star Trek: TNG’s “Inner Light”) said during his talk at Phoenix Comic Con today.

Persistance.

That’s what got him the job.

Sure he had to please the masses of people who worked for the show, but he pitched this now classic episode to the same people 5 times.

And it got me to thinking about the Republicans.

Those scared little boys who just want to be liked.

The one that will be eaten alive by a ravenous pack of Liberal “journalists”.

The idea that they will try and play to the middle so much that they will nominate a RINO (Republican in Name Only) again like Sen. McCain as their nominee again.

Then they will lose. The country will lose and history will lose. Time itself will lose. Humanity will lose.

The person who beats Obama will have to look into the teeth of the ravenous plague of piranhas and persist.

They will have to look the very face of Fear and Death in the face.

They will have to be willing to be atomized by the most ravenous levels of hatred, fear and bile.

Because, who every runs against the GOD of the Liberal Left will have endure all of these things and persist.

The Left and The Media are not our friends. They are a remorseless pack of wild raptors hunting in packs to rip apart any potential prey that gets in their way.

That is quite a daunting challenge.

But if it’s not well met and defeated, The Dark Side Wins.

You think they are insufferably arrogant now, just wait until even after all the shit they have piled on and still they win in November 2012 there will be no stopping them or their egos.

Orwell’s Nightmare will be an optimistic vision when these clowns are down with you.

So, if you’re a Conservative, A Libertarian, or just a Moderate who does not want to see The Darkness win you must be willing to start the very face of Fear and Death in the Face and WIN.

A RINO will be shredded not only by the Liberals and Their Liberal Media Machine, but by me, and people like me, your humble Tea Party Conservative.

You don’t have us in the bag.

Remember that.

You put up a RINO, a “safe” candidate that will have “middle of the road” appeal and you will lose!

Period. End of story. End of Country.

You want to be “safe” in your political games and elitism. You’ll lose.

But it is incumbent on us, the humble “average voter” to make sure that no RINO is put forth also.

We have our part to play and we have our own battle to win.

We must persist also.

We must get what WE WANT, not what Washington thinks we want. Or what some over-priced political consultants thinks will get those “20% in the middle”.

We must Survive the coming Armageddon that will reign down upon us by the hoardes of Hell from the Left and we must persist.

Or else, all hope is truly lost.

So get ready for battle.

It won’t be safe, it won’t be kind.

But it is a battle that must be fought and it must be won.

For your sake, for you kids sake for your grandkids and kids not yet borns’ sake.

Because even if we win, the Forces of Hell will just regroup and come again and again and again and we must fight them until THEY give up not when we declare victory.

Otherwise, it’s over, turn out the lights, and that shining beacon upon the hill that has been America will be forever extinguished.

Simple.

If you are going through hell, keep going. — Winston Churchill

As the Congressional Republicans have attempted to pass a budget that tackles our pending deficit and Medicare crises, Democrats have become quite adept at shooting down budgets while not bothering to propose any practical solutions of their own (today would be day 758, I believe?). It is understandable, though, that they just do not have the time to worry about a federal budget, since they are so darn busy coddling the general welfare. The latest legislation? Forget the budget; we need even more federal standards for sunscreen lotion labels! The Hill has the story:

“As families prepare for Memorial Day festivities, and plan outings this summer, most will be outdoors without adequate sun protection, even if they use sunscreen,” Sen. Jack Reed (D-R.I.), the sponsor, said this week. “This is because there are currently no rules that sunscreen makers must follow when making claims about the level of protection their products provide.”

The bill, S. 1064, would require the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to finalize its 2007 proposal mandating that sunscreen labels disclose the extent to which the product protects against ultraviolet rays known as UVA rays. UVA rays can penetrate the skin more deeply than UVB rays, but currently, sunscreen labels are not required to tell consumers how they protect against UVA rays.

Aside from Reed, the bill is sponsored by several Democratic heavy-hitters, including Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman John Kerry (D-Mass.), Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) and Rules and Administration Committee Chairman Charles Schumer (D-NY). First-term Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) is also a sponsor.

According to Reed, forcing the application of the FDA proposal would require labels to “disclose the level of UVA protection in a standard format that appears near the sun protection factor rating, and ensure that the SPF rating actually corresponds to a product’s protection against UVB rays.”

The bill would require the proposed FDA rule to take effect within 180 days after it became law.

“I look forward to a summer when Americans can finally feel protected from the sun’s harmful rays,” Reed said.

Well, what a relief that Senator Jack Reed is looking out for me, because otherwise, I would have had no way of knowing about the subtle differences in the sun blockage provided between SPF 75 and SPF 85 (hint: there are none), and never mind the numerous studies that suggest that sunscreen may actually accelerate cancer. Good grief! While this legislation was originally proposed in 2007, this is just a taste of what will happen if the looming menace of Obamacare stays on schedule: since I know that I will not have to feel the full costs of getting any skin cancer spots surgically removed, I have less of an incentive to limit my sun exposure. I know that “society” will pay for it, so I will not take conscious action to lessen my future demand for health care, and the system will become overburdened and expensive. Hence, it becomes the federal government’s job to make decisions about my welfare for me and further encumber the mind-blowing bureaucracy that rules our lives. But hey, even if I cannot afford to buy sunscreen because of federal spending, higher taxes, and a wracked economy, at least I will be able to understand the labels. (Erika Johnsen)

It’s your choice. You cannot do this because it will be easy, and neither can the Republicans.

It will not be.

The very mouth of Hell and Damnation will open upon any who dare to challenge the might and the righteousness of The Holy Left.

Thems just the facts,ma’am.

Deal with it.

And then Persist.

The Devil You May Not Know

(ARLINGTON, Va.) – A draft executive order that would force government contractors to disclose all political contributions would make it too easy for political appointees to punish contractors for their political views or to coerce contributions from firms, officials with the Associated General Contractors of America warned today in testimony submitted to Congress.

“The process outlined in the draft executive order would make it much easier for government officials to use the political activities of government contractors as a factor when awarding contracts,” Stephen E. Sandherr, the association’s chief executive officer noted in testimony submitted today to a hearing held jointly between the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform and the Committee on Small Business. “This order actually introduces, instead of excludes, politics from government contracting.”

So you have if you give your political contributions to the wrong source (aka Republican or Tea Party) then you might not get that big fat government contract.

Be a toadie and and an apparatchik or else. Even if you hate me (a Liberal Democrat), give me money or else!!

Now that’s good for business…

“This rule makes it look like the Administration is more interested in punishing political opponents and propping up political allies than protecting public taxpayers.”–Stephen E. Sandherr, CEO Associated General Contractors of America.

It does indeed. Now ask them if they (the liberal progressives) care? 😦

My bet, Not even a little bit.

Oh, and the journalists covering the stories, well, they just might not be very impartial either.

Gov. Mike Huckabee (2010): I’m sad to report today a death of a good friend to all of us…..Journalism, the once esteemed 4th estate of our nation and the protector of our freedoms and a watchdog of our rights has passed away after a long struggle with a crippling and debilitating disease of acute dishonesty aggravated by advanced laziness and the loss of brain function.

When liberal investor George Soros gave $1.8 million to National Public Radio , it became part of the firestorm of controversy that jeopardized NPR’s federal funding. But that gift only hints at the widespread influence the controversial billionaire has on the mainstream media. Soros, who spent $27 million trying to defeat President Bush in 2004 (and millions getting Obama elected), has ties to more than 30 mainstream news outlets – including The New York Times, Washington Post, the Associated Press (see later story), NBC and ABC.

Prominent journalists like ABC’s Christiane Amanpour and former Washington Post editor and now Vice President Len Downie serve on boards of operations that take Soros cash. This despite the Society of Professional Journalists’ ethical code stating: “avoid all conflicts real or perceived.”

The investigative reporting start-up ProPublica is a prime example. ProPublica, which recently won its second Pulitzer Prize, initially was given millions of dollars from the Sandler Foundation to “strengthen the progressive infrastructure” – “progressive” being the code word for very liberal. In 2010, it also received a two-year contribution of $125,000 each year from the Open Society Foundations. In case you wonder where that money comes from, the OSF website is http://www.soros.org. It is a network of more than 30 international foundations, mostly funded by Soros, who has contributed more than $8 billion to those efforts.

The ProPublica stories are thoroughly researched by top-notch staffers who used to work at some of the biggest news outlets in the nation. But the topics are almost laughably left-wing. The site’s proud list of  “Our Investigations” includes attacks on oil companies, gas companies, the health care industry, for-profit schools and more. More than 100 stories on the latest lefty cause: opposition to drilling for natural gas by hydraulic fracking. Another 100 on the evils of the foreclosure industry.

Throw in a couple investigations making the military look bad and another about prisoners at Guantanamo Bay and you have almost the perfect journalism fantasy – a huge budget, lots of major media partners and a liberal agenda unconstrained by advertising.

One more thing: a 14-person Journalism Advisory Board, stacked with CNN’s David Gergen and representatives from top newspapers, a former publisher of The Wall Street Journal and the editor-in-chief of Simon & Schuster. Several are working journalists, including:

• Jill Abramson, a managing editor of The New York Times;

• Kerry Smith, the senior vice president for editorial quality of ABC News;

• Cynthia A. Tucker, the editor of the editorial page of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

ProPublica is far from the only Soros-funded organization that is stacked with members of the supposedly neutral press.

The Center for Public Integrity is another great example. Its board of directors is filled with working journalists like Amanpour from ABC, right along side blatant liberal media types like Arianna Huffington, of the Huffington Post and now AOL.

Like ProPublica, the CPI board is a veritable Who’s Who of journalism and top media organizations, including:

• Christiane Amanpour – Anchor of ABC’s Sunday morning political affairs program, “This Week with Christiane Amanpour.” A reliable lefty, she has called tax cuts “giveaways,” the Tea Party “extreme,” and Obama “very Reaganesque.”

• Paula Madison – Executive vice president and chief diversity officer for NBC Universal, who leads NBC Universal’s corporate diversity initiatives, spanning all broadcast television, cable, digital, and film properties.

• Matt Thompson – Editorial product manager at National Public Radio and an adjunct faculty member at the prominent Poynter Institute.

The group’s advisory board features:

• Ben Sherwood, ABC News president and former “Good Morning America” executive producer

Once again, like ProPublica, the Center for Public Integrity’s investigations are mostly liberal – attacks on the coal industry, payday loans and conservatives like Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour. The Center for Public Integrity is also more open about its politics, including a detailed investigation into conservative funders David and Charles Koch and their “web of influence.”According to the center’s own 990 tax forms, the Open Society Institute gave it $651,650 in 2009 alone.

The well-known Center for Investigative Reporting follows the same template – important journalists on the board and a liberal editorial agenda. Both the board of directors and the advisory board contain journalists from major news outlets. The board features:

• Phil Bronstein (President), San Francisco Chronicle;

• David Boardman, The Seattle Times;

• Len Downie, former Executive Editor of the Washington Post, now VP;

• George Osterkamp, CBS News producer.

Readers of the site are greeted with numerous stories on climate change, illegal immigration and the evils of big companies. It counts among its media partners The Washington Post, Salon, CNN and ABC News. CIR received close to $1 million from Open Society from 2003 to 2008.

Why does it all matter? Journalists, we are constantly told, are neutral in their reporting. In almost the same breath, many bemoan the influence of money in politics. It is a maxim of both the left and many in the media that conservatives are bought and paid for by business interests. Yet where are the concerns about where their money comes from?

Fred Brown, who recently revised the book “Journalism Ethics: A Casebook of Professional Conduct for News Media,” argues journalists need to be “transparent” about their connections and “be up front about your relationship” with those who fund you.

Unfortunately, that rarely happens. While the nonprofits list who sits on their boards, the news outlets they work for make little or no effort to connect those dots. Amanpour’s biography page, for instance, talks about her lengthy career, her time at CNN and her many awards. It makes no mention of her affiliation with the Center for Public Integrity.

If journalists were more up front, they would have to admit numerous uncomfortable connections with groups that push a liberal agenda, many of them funded by the stridently liberal George Soros. So don’t expect that transparency any time soon.

Oh and that polling data showing how Obama is now Mohammad Ali and is staging a miraculous comeback and people love him after he gave the order to Kill bin Laden like something out of a Video Game…

Well… IT JUST MIGHT BE RIGGED!!

Wow! The AP poll has Obama’s approval rating hitting 60 percent! And 53 percent say he deserves to be reelected!

And on the economy, 52 percent approve of the way Obama’s handling it, and only 47 percent disapprove! He’s up 54–46 on approval of how he’s handling health care! On unemployment, 52 percent approval, 47 percent disapproval! 57 percent approval on handling Libya! Even on the deficit, he’s at 47 percent approval, 52 percent disapproval!

It is a poll of adults, which isn’t surprising; as I mentioned yesterday, you don’t have to be a registered or likely voter to have an opinion on the president.

But then you get to the party ID: 46 percent identify as Democrat or leaning Democrat, 29 percent identify as Republican or leaning Republican, 4 percent identify as purely independent leaning towards neither party, and 20 percent answered, “I don’t know.”

With a poll sample that has a 17-percentage-point margin in favor of the Democrats, is anyone surprised that these results look like a David Axelrod dream?

(Interestingly, George W. Bush is at 50 percent approval, 49 percent disapproval, even in this sample wildly weighted in favor of the Democrats.)

AP response: Some conservatives criticized the AP-GfK poll as heavy with responses from Democrats that skewed the results. AP-GfK polls use a consistent methodology that draws a random sample of the population independent of party identification.

But the question isn’t really whether the sample changed too much from their poll in April; the question is whether the sample accurately reflects the American public at large, and whether we indeed have 1.63 Democrats in this country for every 1 Republican. If their sample had an unrealistic proportion of Democrats one month, it’s entirely possible they can get a similar unrealistic proportion the following month. (NRO)

Ya Think? 🙂

Naw, Liberals would never do that…

Lying, cheating, and stealing…Naw, never happen.

Dishonesty, disingenuous and pure self-interest…never happens… 🙂

So Caveat Emptor. Buyer Beware!

A Sad Day

Before I get to the rant today, I found out something yesterday that made me very sad.

And it happened 4 1/2 months ago. But because I studiously ignore gossip and “celebrity” news sites and shows I didn’t know.

Stephen J Cannell, one of my favorite TV producer/writers passed away in October 2010. The man was a genius. He will be missed.

Now back to the show…

This bit of speculation by the media on who will succeed Sen. Jon Kyl in 2013 when he retires should chill you to the bone and make you wonder if their is any hope.

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, former Arizona governor and state attorney general, has made calls over the past few weeks to gauge support for a Senate bid. She could emerge as the early frontrunner. Wealthy businessman Jim Pederson, who challenged Kyl in 2006, isn’t saying no, and Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon could run.

I think the Democrats will be much more cynical than that and want Rep. Giffords to run, because who would be mean enough to vote against her! 🙂

But when the other choices are Big Sis, the corrupt former head of the Democratic Party, and Mayor “Flash” “Flip-flop” Phil the Peter Principle is alive and thriving in the Democrat Party.

Now that Keith Olbermann has been banished to Al Gore TV we still have bomb throwing leftist Bill Maher who has no sense left: “I suppose people would say the Russian Revolution was hijacked by the left-wing,” Maher said. “I think when you go that far left – you’re really the right-wing. I consider Lenin and Stalin right-wingers. Don’t tell Rush Limbaugh.”

On the Super Bowl Interview of Obama by Evil Fox News Commentator, Bill O’Reilly:

“Well, actually he tried so hard. I mean, this man – I saw him with Bill O’Reilly as I’m sure a lot of people did in this country before the Super Bowl,” Maher said. “And all I could think of is – I would never be that way. I just do not have it in me to take that much, really, that much guff, shall we call it, since I’m not on HBO.”

Maher’s view on how presidents should be treated is curious given his public statements on former President George W. Bush (calling for his impeachment in 2006) and former Vice President Dick Cheney (lamenting a failed assassination attempt). Maher praised Obama for containing “the rage” he must feel from what Maher views as disrespect.

“I just feel like the most difficult part of his job must be to squelch the rage that somewhere must be inside him to say, ‘I’m the president of the United States. You don’t talk to me like this. I’m not some left – I’m not Al Sharpton, you know? I won this job,’” Maher said. “And Bill O’Reilly who claims he’s such a patriot, how unpatriotic in my view to treat a president that way. How does that look to other countries when you’re interrupting and belittling — I saw what you did, counting the number of times he was — he was interrupted. I just find it astounding.”

Good thing, unlike The Mainstream Media he’s not masquerading as a “Journalist”.

IPCC Disses Al Gore

Unfortunately for Gore and others who have claimed that the snow this winter is a global warming byproduct, their own authorities have said climate change will result in less snow.

Both the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) have predicted warmer, less snowy winters.

A sampling:

  • “Snow season length and snow depth are very likely to decrease in most of North America … except in the northernmost part of Canada where maximum snow depth is likely to increase (Christensen et al., 2007).” (EPA)
  • “Decreases in snowcover and increases in winter rain on bare soil will likely lengthen the erosion season and enhance erosion intensity.” (EPA)
  • “Rising temperatures have generally resulted in rain rather than snow in locations and seasons where climatological average temperatures for 1961 to 1990 were close to freezing (0 °C).” (EPA)
  • “As temperatures rise, the likelihood of precipitation falling as rain rather than snow increases, especially in autumn and spring at the beginning and end of the snow season, and in areas where temperatures are near freezing. Such changes are observed in many places, especially over land in middle and high latitudes of the Northern Hemisphere, leading to increased rains but reduced snowpacks.” (IPCC)

Some, such as University of East Anglia senior climate researcher, Dr. David Viner, have said that in a few years snow will be scarce, and “children just aren’t going to know what snow is.”

So which global warming alarmists are we to believe?

According to skeptics of global warming, such rhetorical shifts show that predictions are not coming to fruition.

Lord Christopher Monckton of Brenchley, chief policy adviser to the Science and Public Policy Institute, told The Daily Caller that since the IPCC is considered the “holy writ” by a majority of global warming alarmists, the IPCC is the place to look to see if predictions sync with data. (Except for ClimateGate — where the politics met the data 🙂 )

“Al Gore is not a scientist … He’s made a lot of money by whipping up scares and frightening children, but he is no longer heeded by anyone who takes this matter seriously. The IPCC is the scientific authority of his side of the case, and it says very plainly you get fewer extreme cold and fewer heavy snow events. That’s what the IPCC says, and if that’s what the IPCC says, then Al Gore has no business trying to say the opposite.” (Caroline May)

So just remember, when it’s too hot, it’s global warming.

When it’s too cold it’s global warming.

When it’s too dry it’s global warming.

When it’s too wet, it’s global warming.

And when you stub your toe in the dark in the bathroom in the morning, it’s global warming. 🙂

Rejoice!

Feb 7th, at the US Chamber of Commerce, The President:

President Obama stated: “The benefits can’t just translate into greater bonuses and profits for those at the top. They have to be shared by American workers, who need to know that expanding trade and opening markets will lift their standards of living, as well as your bottom line…”

“Share the profits” in 2011 sounds eerily like “spread the wealth around,” circa 2008. In both cases, the President was speaking the language of economic collectivism – “socialism” being the more loosely defined term of choice for this type of rhetoric – and it should be disturbing to every American.

Barack Obama is, of course, facing enormous pressure from the American electorate over the high unemployment rate. After all he’s done to try and “fix” the economy – an $800 billion economic “stimulus” bill, the “Making Home Affordable” mortgage fix, a credit card “reform” law, and of course his landmark healthcare “reform” law – unemployment still remains unacceptably high, even by his own assessment.

The President’s frustration with unemployment is understandable. But his contemptuous tone for American businesses is counterproductive, even for his own pursuits. “Start hiring, or else” is not the way to incentivize businesses to assume financial risks and liabilities (and hiring new workers entails risks and liabilities). It doesn’t incentivize anybody to “build stuff and invent stuff” either, yet President Obama seems not to understand this.

President Obama, however, seems to assume that those at the top of a business enterprise – the managers, the executives, the owners- have necessarily achieved their position of authority by unjust means and they need to be punished for their achievement. This, by the way, is very similar to the economic views of our President’s father, Barack Hussein Obama Senior, who while working in the communist government of Kenya once proposed a 100% taxation rate for the “richest” in his country.

But his “share your profits” and “start hiring or else” moment aside, just days before his speech to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce our President took the hostility towards business owners to an entirely new level. In what has been described as an “unprecedented” and “controversial” maneuver, the White House set up a program earlier this month with the U.S. Department of Labor and the American Bar Association, wherein workers who feel they have been treated wrongly by their employer can call a toll-free number, and get assistance from an attorney who will represent them against their employer on a contingency basis.

I wonder if it goes to the same people who set up the Illegal Alien Sue-Your-Boss Line last year??

Some people, including our President and Vice President, see this as a pathway to “justice” for middle class workers, yet to believe this one must assume that every “complaint” against an employer is legitimate. Interestingly, the Obama Administration does not appear prepared to offer this same kind of “free legal help” to business owners- which again takes us back to the President’s very hostile assumptions about business owners and leaders in the first place.

“Share your profits” and “sue your boss” are not policies for economic growth. As long as this kind of hostility continues to emanate from the White House, the President’s need for more hiring will likely go unfulfilled. (Austin Hill)

Overall, a disappointing start to the day…
