7 Year Rash

Today is the 7th Anniversary of this blog. For a long time this year I considered making this one my last because, quite simply, The Stupid Have Inherited the Earth. Intelligence and Common Sense (let alone <gasp> Logic) are Politically Incorrect. Hell, some Leftists have decreed that just saying “politically incorrect” is Politically Incorrect. 😦

So instead I thought I’d revisit one of my favorites from the last 7 years.

This also goes out the #NeverTrump -ers who are so mindlessly obsessed with hating Donald Trump that they are willing Hillary into the White House.

Hate never felt so Right. 🙂

And a special shout out to the Sabotage Republicans (The Establishment ones and their followers) WHO ALSO want Hillary.

The Generations (and possibly permanent) of damage you want to inflict on what’s LEFT of this country is so short-sighted you deserve her.

It will be YOUR fault.

Agree with me or else!

To the future or to the past, to a time when thought is free, when men are different from one another and do not live alone — to a time when truth exists and what is done cannot be undone: From the age of uniformity, from the age of solitude, from the age of Big Brother, from the age of doublethink — greetings! -George Orwell

So with that in mind, cast your mindless adherence to January 21, 2012  and this Blog and see yourselves currently in it also.

THE ZOMBIE HOARD

They are just a zombie hoard.

Remorseless. Merciless. Incapable of shame, morals or ethics.

They want want what they want when they want it and because they want it and will do anything to get it. Relentlessly.

And what they want is YOU. You to be either converted or cow-towed to their every whim. To do whatever they want when they want it.

Evidence John King, the CNN Liberal Moderator of the South Carolina Debate. He opens the debate with a salicious question to Gingrich about his “open marriage” and Gingrich blows him to bits for it and the crowd goes wild.

He did this to prove his “courage” to stand up to the evil “right wingers” and puff out his chest that he was “journalist” and was going to bravely confront the issue. Meanwhile, anything remotely damaging to President Obama is ignored with great speed and spin.🙂

2016: Just Like they do with Hillary. The Debate will be set up to show that Trump is grumpy, unstable and mean. The fact that Hillary is a congenital, sociopathica Liar has no bearing on the debates whatsover.

Their will be more Candy Crowley moments than ever.

And the Zombie hoard will eat it up like candy. “Brains…”

“In times of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act”.- George Orwell.

And their has never been more deceit now than ever in American History and more mindless Zombie Hoards out to make sure “What difference does it make, anyways?”

Rush Limbaugh (who I rarely get a chance to listen to because of my work schedule): Now, let me tell you one thing here, folks: You cannot shame the mainstream media. If any of you are thinking that the media learned a lesson — if any of you believe that the media finally had it handed to ’em, if you believe that the media had their eyes opened and they are fully awake now and they understand what they’re dealing with — forget it. John King is proud of what happened last night. John King is a hero in the Main Street media because he didn’t back down, because he continued to illustrate how it is that the media does really control the agenda. That was a demonstration of the power they hold over every public figure’s head, that they choose to hold like a guillotine. John King… There may even be some jealousy and envy within the journalist ranks (well, not journalists; within the Democrat Party ranks) because John King is a guy that got in Newt’s face, stared him down — and the fact that Newt told him off? It’s a badge of honor. If you are thinking that John King was embarrassed and ran away with his tail tucked between his legs and learned his lesson and it’ll never happen again? Ah, ah, ah, ah. You cannot shame the mainstream media. They are proud of this. They delight in their power to destroy candidates that they don’t like.

And they don’t like anyone who doesn’t cow-tow to them.

2016: They made THEIR Choice. Now it’s you’re Zombie duty to vote for it or else.

“At the end of the day the message to every conservative who hasn’t run for office is: “You want a piece of this? You want some of this? You want Brian Ross hounding you and your ex-wife and then you want me asking you about it on national TV the next night? Come on in. We’re ready.” That’s the message from John King and CNN last night, and do not doubt me on this.”

2016: look at the evidence, every time new “evidence” comes out about Hillary they bury it. Every time Trump even raises his voice or say one less than perfect political phrase they are on it like flies on shit and they stick to it like super glue and blow it up.

mountain

So the alternative is to cow-tow. To live in fear of the Liberal wrath.

2016: To acquiesce. Given in, the Ministry of Truth has the system rigged.

Hell, the Democrats got caught rigging the Primary, blatantly.

No one really cared.

The Zombie Hoard just went, “oh” and moved on. The Media covered it up.

Debbie Wasserman-Schultz was sacrificed.

End of Story.

#2: Hillary is caught re-handed on the Email Scandal. The FBI even says so. But since Comey has connections to Clinton and doesn’t want to have a mysterious “accident” she is not prosecuted.

Future Hillary Supreme Court Nominee Loretta Lynch, Attorney General and Clinton Cronie refuses to prosecute her.

Other people not connected to Clinton aren’t so lucky.

David_Petraeus

And the reaction from the Zombie Hoard, “Yawn”.

Hillary is still leading in the Polls!

“Brains…”

The Food Police. The TSA. The EPA. The Justice Department. Homeland Security. The FCC.

Because if they can’t make you a zombie, they can at least make you a peasant in fear of your Masters who will not challenge them or not have the power to challenge them.

“[…]you don’t have to be Sun freakin Tzu to know that real fighting isn’t about killing or even hurting the other guy, it’s about scaring him enough to call it a day.”
― Max Brooks, World War Z: An Oral History Of The Zombie War

They’ll just turn your children into zombies instead. 12 years of Grade School and 4 years of College is a lot of Zombie Voodoo time after all. And “getting them while they are young” is entirely within the Zombie Liberal playbook. Make them a zombie before they even know what one is and then make them as immune as possible to any anti-virus and get them addicted to their own Kool-Aid. Feed it to them constantly through the Media and the Internet.

2016: They’ll DEMAND Segregation, “Safe Spaces”, “Diversity” and “Inclusion” mindlessly and will trample Free Speech because they don’t want to be “offended”.

FREEDOM IS SLAVERY

WAR (Class, Gender, Race, Religion) IS PEACE

IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH

Hell, even white people getting a tan will set the little zombie off…

What it does is illustrate that they can be dealt with. But you can’t beat ’em. They’re not gonna be shamed. They’re not going to be shamed into stopping the coverage of conservatives as they do it. It’s going to continue. No matter what kind of shame you think they suffer in a contest like that — no matter how much money they lose, no matter how many of them get fired, no matter how many magazines or TV stations or newspapers get shut down — they are not gonna change. They are hard-core, leftists”

And as I have said over and over again, they are have no morals or ethics because they are governed not by logic and reason but by emotions, mostly the most basic of primitive emotions, Fear, Lust (for power), anger, jealousy, ENVY, etc. –Raw emotions.

2016: THE END JUSTIFIES THE MEANS!

Which is why when you engage them they sound and act like an immature 5 year old. And as we all know from childhood development the child has to develop a sense of shame by have having boundaries and limitations and consequences. And if they don’t, they will grow up with little to no sense of shame.

disagree

2016: “Microaggressions” anyone?

They are usually called sociopaths. I can call them Liberal Zombies.

2016: And the #Never Trumpers and Establishment RINOs.

Liberals have no shame. They want what they want when they want it because they want it.

2016: And the #Never Trumpers and Establishment RINOs.

“…one of the upsides that isn’t gonna happen is the media saying, “Gosh, we’ve been so mean to these people and so unfair. You know, maybe we ought to start being fair.” That’s not going to happen.

Liberals talk about being “fair” which means you’re being unfair to them and should do what they want.

Liberals talk about “compassion” but it’s to make you feel guilty, not them, and to do what they want.

Liberals will talk about “bi-partisanship” but that just means you have to compromise your principles so they can do what they want.

“Diversity” means you’re evil and need to do what they say to repent for your sins.

2016: “Inclusion” Means you include everything THEY say and do it without hesitation.

They are a remorseless hoard. They want what they want when they want it and on their terms only.

Give them everything they want or they’ll cry, scream, bitch, moan, pout and lash out at you.

2016: “White Privilege” anyone?

That is their primitive zombie hoard mentality. And they want YOU.extremists

Get rid of one zombie, and 10 more will take it’s place. So you have to be ready to do battle constantly.

Look at 2010. The Democrats suffered the worst defeat in 80 years. Does it look like they learned ANYTHING?

No.

As a matter of fact the zombie hoard is even tighter, even more determined than ever. They want it EVEN MORE.

So if we defeat then in 2012 will they go away?

HELL NO!

2016: They weren’t defeated. Even more hoards joined them. So if they are beat in 2016 will they finally be defeated and go away.

HELL NO!

They will just keep coming back like a remorseless zombie hoard until you are overwhelmed.

Which is why you will have to fight them all of your days, your kids days and their kids days until the infection is wiped out.

But like any good zombie plaque it only takes 1 to re-ignite it and spread it all over again.

And these zombies have Media and Internet outlets! (and Europe!)

“Looking back, I still can’t believe how unprofessional the news media was. So much spin, so few hard facts. All those digestible sound bites from an army of ‘experts’ all contradicting one another, all trying to seem more ‘shocking’ and ‘in-depth’ than the last one. It was all so confusing, nobody seemed to know what to do.”
― Max Brooks, World War Z: An Oral History Of The Zombie War

“The only rule that ever made sense to me I learned from a history, not an economics, professor at Wharton. “Fear,” he used to say, “fear is the most valuable commodity in the universe.” That blew me away. “Turn on the TV,” he’d say. “What are you seeing? People selling their products? No. People selling the fear of you having to live without their products.” Fuckin’ A, was he right. Fear of aging, fear of loneliness, fear of poverty, fear of failure. Fear is the most basic emotion we have. Fear is primal. Fear sells.

“This is the only time for high ideals because those ideals are all that we have. We aren’t just fighting for our physical survival, but for the survival of our civilization. We don’t have the luxury of old-world pillars. We don’t have a common heritage, we don’t have a millennia of history. All we have are the dreams and promises that bind us together. All we have…is what we want to be.”
― Max Brooks, World War Z: An Oral History Of The Zombie War

“…We were a shaken, broken species, driven to the edge of extinction and grateful only for tomorrow with perhaps a little less suffering than today. Was this the legacy we would leave our children, a level of anxiety and self-doubt not seen since our simian ancestors cowered in the tallest trees? What kind of world would they rebuild? Would they rebuild at all? Could they continue to progress, knowing that they would be powerless to reclaim their future? And what if that future saw another rise of the living dead? Would our descendants rise to meet them in battle, or simply crumple in meek surrender and accept what they believe to be their inevitable extinction? For this alone, we had to reclaim our planet. We had to prove to ourselves that we could do it, and leave that proof as this war’s greatest monument. The long, hard road back to humanity, or the regressive ennui of Earth’s once-proud primates. That was the choice, and it had to be made now.”

Something Stinks…Oh It’s Obama’s Budget

President Barack Obama is sending Congress a $3.77 trillion spending blueprint that seeks to achieve an elusive “grand bargain” to tame runaway deficits by raising taxes further on the wealthy and trimming popular benefit programs such as Social Security.

So what if we’re $17 Trillion in Debt, let’s Spend even more!!

It projects that the deficit for the 2014 budget year, which begins Oct. 1, would fall to $744 billion. That would be the lowest gap between spending and revenue since 2008.

Wow! We’d overspend money we don’t have less than we have in the last 5 years! Wow! I’m impressed!! 🙂

Instead of ten hits of crack a day we’ll just do 7!!

WOW! that’s amazing. Whattaguy! 🙂

Oh, and we raise even more taxes so we can overspend!

Impressive!

Just over a week after sequestration took effect, the State Department allotted more than $700,000 for gardening at a U.S. Ambassador’s residence in Brussels, Belgium. 🙂

total deficit savings to $4.3 trillion (over ten years), based on the administration’s calculations.

WOW! He only overspends that much in 3 Months!!! What about the other 9?

Oh, right, TAX INCREASES!

No Tax & Spend Democrats here… 🙂

But instead of moving Congress nearer a grand bargain, Obama’s proposals so far have managed to anger both Republicans, who are upset by higher taxes, and Democrats upset with cuts to Social Security benefits.

Which is why it’s just political, not economic, as usual. Wonder how the Ministry of Truth is going to spin cuts to Social Security? 🙂

The CBO also notes, however – and the White House omits – that a switch to the chained CPI  (for Social Security) will also raise more than $124 billion in new tax revenues.

The money will come pouring in because the consumer price index also controls income tax brackets, tax filers’ standard deductions, nontaxable contribution limits for 401(k) retirement plans, and more.

So millions of individual Americans will see themselves moved involuntarily to higher tax brackets, and middle-class taxpayers in particular will lose some of the tax credits and deductions that they count on.

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney conceded as much during an April 5 briefing, when CBS News Chief White House Correspondent Major Garrett asked if it would ‘raise taxes on middle-income Americans.’

‘I’m not disputing that,’ Carney said, adding that ‘it is not the president’s ideal policy.’

The president’s spending and tax plan is two months late.

It must be all that partying, vacations, and golf!

The budget proposes cutting $400 billion from Medicare and other health care programs over a decade. The cuts would come in a variety of ways, including negotiating better prescription drug prices and asking wealthy seniors to pay more.

Sticking it to Grandma? How dare he! 🙂

In the tax area, Obama would raise an additional $580 billion by restricting deductions for the top 2 percent of family incomes. The budget would also implement the “Buffett Rule” requiring that households with incomes of more than $1 million pay at least 30 percent of their income in taxes. Charitable giving would be excluded.

So this leopard still has all his spots! Gee, what a shocker that is…

As part of the administration’s effort to win over Republicans, Obama will have a private dinner at the White House with about a dozen GOP senators Wednesday night (Wine, Dine, & Bribe). The budget is expected to be a primary topic, along with proposed legislation dealing with gun control and immigration.

But White Hours Tours for the little people who will get stuck with the check?

Sorry, Charlie, you’re still a peasant and you still stink.

‘Every new initiative in the plan is fully paid for, so they do not add a single dime to the deficit,’ the White House pledges.

no child left a dime

FactCheck.org, a program of the University of Pennsylvania’s Annenberg Policy Center, reported in February that Obama’s total sum included about $600 billion, however, in new taxes – not spending reductions. It also included $500 billion in reductions of the amount the federal government planned to pay in future interest on its debts.

Only about $1.4 trillion consisted of actual spending cuts – or at least what Washington wonks call spending cuts.

After all, reductions in the INCREASE in spending is considered a “cut” these days in Washington! 🙂

So Obama will have them fighting each other then President Fiat can just step in an do whatever he wants “for the good” of all his subjects. 🙂

After all, if this whole thing fails miserably, and the fighting gets very nasty hen will Eloquently and Arrogantly stand above the fray and proclaim  it wasn’t  HIS fault! 🙂

THE AGENDA IS THE AGENDA.

Dems Vote to Punish School Children

On pretty much a party line vote, Democrats rejected Senator Coburn’s proposal to shift other national heritage funding so as to restore White House tours for taxpayers — the people who, in fact, subsidize the operation of what is supposedly “the people’s house.” (http://p.washingtontimes.com/news/2013/mar/20/senate-poised-vote-forcing-wh-resume-tours/).  Had the positions of the parties been reversed, no doubt most of the MSM would be trumpeting headlines like that above.

Complete with crying children, angry parents and self-servicing and self-righteous Congressman promising vengeance. 🙂

The GOP should be trumpeting that fact to everyone who will listen.  Every time Democrats do this, we should be asking why there seems to be money, for example, for the President to throw swanky St. Patrick’s Day parties for the elite and connected — like Chris Matthews ( http://washingtonexaminer.com/obama-parties-with-chris-matthews-for-st.-patricks-day/article/2524864) — but no Democrat can seem to find a way to let school children into The White House.

If Republicans are serious about improving their standing with normal Americans, it’s a good time to start pointing out that the party of Big, powerful government is the party that fosters exactly the kind of cronyism and insider dealing that should be anathema to a free people.  Democrats loooove to talk about insider dealing on Wall Street — but we have an alphabet soup of agencies designed to inhibit and punish that kind of self-dealing.  In contrast, at the moment, there seems to be no Democrat in the Senate who is at all disturbed at the patent self-dealing practiced by the government class at the expense of the people.

Now that’s a message to take to the country. (Townhall)

I agree, but are the Republican man enough to shout back at the Ministry of Truth and stand up to the bully??

Political Cartoons by Bob Gorrell

Democrats’ sequester tower of terror continues to collapse, floor by floor.  Amidst the media fact checks and stomach-turning posturing, Republican members of Congress are using hearings to hold bureaucrats’ feet to the fire over the claims and actions of their departments.  Rep. Andy Harris (R-MD) blew the cover off of the administration’s duplicity on supposed cuts to pediatric vaccinations a few weeks ago; yesterday, it was South Carolina Congressman Trey Gowdy’s turn at bat.  Watch as he grills a Department of DHSHomeland Security Under Secretary as to why his team released ten “level 1” aggravated felons from federal custody,  (And he pretends he doesn’t even know what one is!!) supposedly due to sequester cuts:

GOWDY: “There was nothing else [you] could do as a cost savings measure. Is that your testimony?”

BORRAS: “No, that is not my testimony.”

My personal favorite exchange was the bit where Gowdy “asks” Borras how long the department had to prepare for sequestration, knowing exactly what the correct response would be: More than a year and a half.  And yet they were hoping the American people would simply accept the notion that they couldn’t spare $1,200 bucks to keep violent felons locked up, ostensibly because of small across-the-board federal spending reductions.  Not cuts, reductions in the rate of growth.  Remember, the president proposed and signed this law, then attempted to pawn off its supposed ill-effects onto Republicans — hoping to count on the credulous media the spread the distortions.  When the GOP wouldn’t cave, the administration mobilized to set the vast apparatus of the federal government to work against the interests and well being of the American people in order to justify their hysterical predictions of widespread misery.  I’ll leave you with the infamous quote that sums up this deeply cynical and reckless approach to governance: “It is our opinion that however you manage that reduction, you need to make sure you are not contradicting what we said the impact would be.” (Guy Benson)

the administration had approved $37 million in foreign aid for Pakistan at the expense of a tuition assistance program for veterans. Rep. Ted Poe, R-Texas, plans to introduce a bill that will stop foreign aid funding until military tuition is restored:

“Why are we funding education programs for [Pakistan] when we can’t fund — or don’t fund — the education for our military? And to Pakistan of all places, where hatred for America is at its highest. Washington should watch its spending and prioritize.”

Poe went on to defend the program, claiming that:

“The cost of the program is .1 percent of the Defense Department’s budget, and one that has helped graduate 50,000 individuals. The Marines spent roughly $47 million from the program last year”.

Yeah, and sequestration was a 2% cut in an increase in spending and supposedly it was the end of the world!!! 🙂

Veteran unemployment already hovers around 9.4%, almost two points above the national average. And despite the president’s assurance last year that “no one who fights for this country overseas should ever have to fight for a job”, the elimination of this program tells a contradicting story. Various departments have already made multiple cuts to make Americans feel the effects of the sequester, though as previously reported, the reasoning is purely political. (townhall)

Now the punchline:

The public by nearly 2-1, 61-33 percent, supports cutting the overall budget along the lines of the sequester that took effect last Friday. But by nearly an identical margin, Americans in this ABC News/Washington Post poll oppose an eight percent across-the-board cut in military spending.

Whoops! The Ministry of Truth has a Lot of work to do!

In a similar vein, Matt Yglesias over at Slate calls this poll “deeply misleading,” on the grounds that people tend to favor overall cuts, but when it comes down to deciding what specific areas TO cut, they’re more cautious. In other words, he feels that if the individual programs had been extended beyond simply military cuts, people would have said they were opposed to those, too.

Long story short, public opinion on budgetary matters is poorly structured and there isn’t a clear and internally consistent policy agenda that you can read from the polls. So if you constructed any ABC-style poll where you first ask about spending cuts and then ask about one particular program, you’d get the ABC result that people want big spending cuts but also want to exempt Program X from the cuts. But that’s just a kind of cheap trick. Relative to other programs, cuts to military spending are among the least-unpopular cuts around.

So he takes issue with the idea that Americans want cuts, but not from the military—of course, as he says himself, it’s hard to read the data and find a coherent policy mandate regarding any cuts.

To that end, then, it remains to be seen if the cuts that are about to take effect are as palpably felt—or objected to—as the administration has said they will be. Despite claims that airport lines would double and teachers would be immediately laid off, neither has happened (or in the case of the teachers, certainly not as a result of sequestration).

For all the hype about a 5% budget cut, it’s a pretty small amount compared to the deficit. Who knows? We may find that talking about cuts is more painful than actually executing them. And so long as your airport waiting time isn’t abnormally long, who’s to say you’ll notice? (Townhall)

So you can cut them but not Me!

I see that all day everyday at work. It’s called Narcissism (or NOT IN MY BACK POCKET). And we have generations of them now. From the elderly who created them to their great grand kids who were raised to expect it.

But I support across the board cuts. Even if my Ox gets gored.

But I’m an exception.

Anyone who thinks the fiscal cliff deal will end President Obama’s soak-the-rich campaign isn’t paying attention. Even before the ink had dried on his $620 billion tax hike, Obama was talking up his desire for more.

Obama hinted at this on Sunday on “Meet the Press,” when he told David Gregory that “you are not only going to cut your way to prosperity” and that “one of the fallacies” was that “deficit reduction is only a matter of cutting programs.”

But as the fiscal cliff agreement looked increasingly likely, Obama started talking more specifically about additional tax hikes. On Monday, he told a White House rally that “revenues have to be part of the equation in turning off the sequester.” (IBD)

Translation: If Republicans want to prevent devastating defense cuts from automatically kicking in two months from now, they’ll have to choke down another round of tax hikes.

And he made it clear any future deficit cuts will have to include still more new taxes. “If Republicans think that I will finish the job of deficit reduction through spending cuts alone,” he said, “then they’ve got another thing coming.”

Then, after the agreement had been signed on Tuesday, he talked about how “cutting spending has to go hand-in-hand with further reforms to our tax code” that take more money from “the wealthiest corporations and individuals.”

So, after getting a deal that includes only tax hikes and no spending cuts, Obama will demand that any future spending cuts come with still more new taxes. (IBD)

Welcome to the Dawn of 2013- Lies & SEP

Have you ever asked yourself why the people who want to actually cut spending (not just “cut” the rate of growth and call it a “cut”) and want to actually cut the size and scope of government intervention in our lives are portrayed as violent, ignorant, and/or extremists??

I do. Every day.

And I still think it comes down to drug addiction. But it goes deeper.

The people are addicted to the “free” stuff that isn’t free. And politicians are addicted to themselves and their own power. The Politicians are the dealers. The people are the enablers and the addicts buying from the dealers. And the Dealers are addicts to selling the drugs.

So they are incestuously addicted to each other.

The politicians keep giving the people “free” drugs – entitlements, class warfare, etc. and the people keep electing people who will give it to them.

And the sane ones who say that we have to stop this behavior are hated by everyone. The responsible one in the room is the last person anyone wants to listen to.

The Republicans aren’t happy with the Tea Party. Happy they got elected in 2010. But not happy that they keep getting reminded why they were elected which goes against this grain. And they aren’t prepared to fight the fight that is required to stop or wean off the addiction because they are in fact, addicts themselves.

And the Democrats and the Media that portray anyone who isn’t on board with them as “extremists” , “obstructionists”, “unfair”, “racists”, none more than the “domestic terrorists” known as The Tea Party.

Not loved by anyone.

Funny that.

Because in the end we will be forced to grow up. The longer we wait the harder and more painful it will be for us and for the future.

The Truth will come. That’s inevitable. It WILL come regardless. It is the real wolf at the door.

But like a petulant child, we refuse.

We want our candy and presents. We want Santa Claus/Obama Claus to come along and bring all of us more toys and tell us it was mean old Scrooge’s fault and that the Tea Party is the Grinch who wants to steal their Christmas.

The People of Whoville don’t want to know the truth.

There is is no joy in Whoville when it comes to the Truth about The Debt, The Deficit, Entitlements, Taxes, and Foreign Policy Threats like Al-Qaeda.

The People of Whoville want to be told sweet little lies because the Truth is too much too bear. And they are at fault and they can’t face it.

The Political Class just see an opportunity to use this to gain more power for themselves. But it’s a trap too.

Now they are addicted to lying. They can’t tell the truth anymore. And anyone who tries will be summarily crushed.

Divide and Conquer has no softer side. Authoritarians have non softer side.

And they are addicted to the power to control everyone and everything. The authoritarian modern liberal more so than the weak Republicans.

So the politicians are addicted to the power money brings them and the people are addicted to the money the government brings them.

What  a viciously incestuous cycle.

And the sane ones who want this to stop are the bad guys.

Well, a drug intervention is never anything but messy.

But 315 million addicts is a lot of messy.

The addict’s judgment is clouded due to their substance of abuse making it tough for them to see or think clearly.

And the Ministry of Truth is there to feed them sweet lies and to calm their fears. 🙂

That’s the Comfort Zone.

(with apologies to Fleetwood Mac)

Tell me lies, tell me sweet little lies
(Tell me lies, tell me, tell me lies)
Oh, no, no you can disguise
(We want you to disguise, you can disguise)
Tell me lies, tell me sweet little lies

Although I’m not making plans
I hope that you understand
There’s a reason why
Close your, close your, close your eyes…

But I couldn’t find a way
So I’ll settle for one day
To believe in you
Tell me, tell me, tell me lies

Tell me lies, tell me sweet little lies

It’s someone elses’ fault other than our own and we don’t want to take the medicine to get it better.

Somebody Else’s Problem (also known as Someone Else’s Problem or SEP) is a condition where individuals/populations of individuals choose to decentralize themselves from an issue that may be in critical need of recognition. Such issues may be of large concern to the population as a whole but can easily be a choice of ignorance at an individualistic level. Author Douglas Adams‘ description of the condition, which he ascribes to a physical “SEP field,” has helped make it a generally recognized phenomenon.

Where multiple individuals simultaneously experience the same stimulus, diffusion of responsibility and/or the bystander effect may release individuals from the need to act, and if no-one from the group is seen to act, each individual may be further inhibited by conformity.

“Somebody Else’s Problem”, an effectively-magical field that obscures things you think aren’t relevant to you, such that even though you see them (or hear them or read them) you don’t actually *notice*, and quickly forget.

More generally, the phenomenon that causes people to ignore issues that they know about but think of as either not something they can do anything about, or not personally relevant to them right now. This can result in something that’s very important to a group of people being ignored by every individual member of that group.

Popularized by Douglas Adams in the “Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy” series, in which Ford Prefect describes it as:

“An SEP is something we can’t see, or don’t see, or our brain doesn’t let us see, because we think that it’s somebody else’s problem…. The brain just edits it out, it’s like a blind spot. If you look at it directly you won’t see it unless you know precisely what it is. Your only hope is to catch it by surprise out of the corner of your eye.”

When individuals are exposed to a multitude of messages about pressing matters of concern- information overload (now also known as Information Fatigue Syndrome) may be a result.

In Joseph Ruff’s article “Information Overload: Causes, Symptoms and Solutions” Ruff states, “Once capacity is surpassed additional information becomes noise and results in a decrease in information processing and decision quality”.

The 24/7/365 News cycle anyone? 🙂

The virulent “I don’t wanna know” reaction , mixed with deeply cynical fear and racist power politics equals the 2012 election anyone?

Vote for Me, the Other Guy’s asshole!!! It’s HIS Fault!!

And the Politicians and The Ministry of Truth can herd these willfully ignorant sheep to use to satisfy their own addictions.

Thus the cycle continues.

There may also be a tendency to argue that since a proposed solution does not fit a problem entirely then the entire solution should be discarded. This is an example of a perfect solution fallacy. “This fallacy is often employed by those who believe no action should be taken on a particular issue and use the fallacy to argue against any proposed action”.

The nirvana fallacy is the informal fallacy of comparing actual things with unrealistic, idealized alternatives. It can also refer to the tendency to assume that there is a perfect solution to a particular problem. A closely related concept is the perfect solution fallacy.

By creating a false dichotomy that presents one option which is obviously advantageous—while at the same time being completely implausible—a person using the nirvana fallacy can attack any opposing idea because it is imperfect. The choice is not between real world solutions and utopia; it is, rather, a choice between one realistic possibility and another which is merely better.

The perfect solution fallacy is an informal fallacy that occurs when an argument assumes that a perfect solution exists and/or that a solution should be rejected because some part of the problem would still exist after it were implemented.

It’s Not “fair”!  🙂

It is common for arguments which commit this fallacy to omit any specifics about exactly how, or how badly, a proposed solution is claimed to fall short of acceptability, expressing the rejection in vague terms only. Alternatively, it may be combined with the fallacy of misleading vividness, when a specific example of a solution’s failure is described in emotionally powerful detail but base rates are ignored.

Misleading vividness is a term that can be applied to anecdotal evidence[1] describing an occurrence, even if it is an exceptional occurrence, with sufficient detail to permit hasty generalizations about the occurrence (e.g., to convince someone that the occurrence is a widespread problem). Although misleading vividness does little to support an argument logically, it can have a very strong psychological effect because of a cognitive heuristic called the availability heuristic.

The availability heuristic is a mental shortcut that occurs when people make judgments about the probability of events by the ease with which examples come to mind. The availability heuristic operates on the notion that, “if you can think of it, it must be important.” The availability of consequences associated with an action is positively related to perceptions of the magnitude of the consequences of that action. In other words, the easier it is to recall the consequences of something, the greater we perceive these consequences to be.

Short circuit logic with emotion and keep it simplistic. Sound like Obama and the Democrats?

Never let a Crisis Go to Waste!

Create new ones daily. Crisis Mode prevents a lot of actual critical thinking.

And the anti-nirvana heuristic solution  is to do something substantive and real. Hence, The Tea Party is against nirvana, utopia, mom and apple pie so they are the ultimate evil and must be destroyed. 🙂

The ones who truly want people to face the truth and fix the problem are seen as the problem. 😮

Welcome to the dawn of 2013 where doing the responsible thing makes you the Grinch, the enemy, the bad guy…

Well, Isn’t that Special? 🙂

Good Old Debbie Wasserman Schultz, On the Priorities USA Obama SuperPAC “Cancer” attack ad: “I have no idea the political affiliation of the folks who are associated with that SuperPAC.”

oh really, maybe it’s the Green Alien Sex Probe Party? 🙂

Every single viewer knows she’s BS’ing here.  Every last one.  If she’s unable to tell a basic, obvious truth in this circumstance, why should anyone believe a single thing that comes out of her mouth?  After the interview, DWS got pummeled online for her performance, which she attempted to clean up with a belated tweet:

RT @DWSTweets: Clearly Priorities USA is a Democratic SuperPAC. Was trying to state the obvious: we have no control over their activities.

So you lied previously then, eh. I guess she didn’t build those lies either. 🙂

Then Rich Lowry (“right winger”) met Rachael “Mad Cow” Maddow (MSDNC):

LOWRY: Do you support $700 billion in cuts in Medicare over the next ten years?

MADDOW: I’m not running for president.
(the usual escape clause for Liberal pundits)

LOWRY: Do you?

MADDOW: I’m not running for anything. Paul Ryan is running for vice president.

LOWRY: Do you? Why can’t you answer? See, you can’t answer.

MADDOW: But wait, I’m not running for anything..

LOWRY: This is the key vulnerability. Democrats have cut $700 billion out of Medicare which you won’t or can’t defend it. Defend it.

MADDOW: Is it good or bad?

LOWRY: Do you support it? You can’t answer.

MADDOW: But wait. Why are you asking me?

LOWRY: You can’t answer. Because you’re an opinion maker who is supposed to give us your opinion. But you will not tell us what your opinion is.

MADDOW: What I want to know is the logic of…

LOWRY: Democrats cannot defend that.

MADDOW: Wait. I want to know is the logic…

LOWRY: Go ahead. Defend it.

MADDOW: What I want to know is the logic.

LOWRY: [Laughs].

MADDOW: Wait. Rich, hold on.

LOWRY: Answer me. You’re not answering.

MADDOW: Can I say something?

LOWRY: Can you answer?

MADDOW: Can I say something?

DAVID GREGORY, HOST: Let her answer because I want to go back to Bill Bennett on something.

MADDOW: What I want to know is the logic of attacking somebody for something that you yourself are proposing to do? Paul Ryan proposes keeping those same cuts.

LOWRY: Mitt Romney is not doing it, and those are meat axe cuts. Can I make one last point? One last point?

GREGORY: No, no. I’m going to pull back on this. I want to ask Bill Bennett a separate question. This debate will go on.

Hilarious.
And her childish response later: Ah, a Drudge link. Welcome, 3-day onslaught of ALL CAPS swearing misspelled tweets & emails informing me that I am gay.
The Best and Brightest Leftist Attack Dogs, indeed. 🙂
Speaking of Attack Dogs: SeeBS Snooze

Incredible. CBS News has an anti-Romney “fact check” articleup this morning supposedly debunking statements made by Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan during yesterday’s introduction of the veep pick.  At the end, CBS actually snuck in the hyper-partisan, DNC-talking-point assertion that it was “clear” that when President Obama utttered his infamous “you didn’t build that”, he was talking about “teachers and infrastructure.”

CBS claims that in criticizing “you didn’t build that,” Republicans “seized on only part of Obama’s quote.”  In fact, it is CBS itself that edited out another, most telling, part of Obama’s comments.  The network omitted the following Obama lines which make irretrievably clear that he was indeed disparaging the achievements of entrepreneurs. More after the jump.

BARACK OBAMA: “[I]f you’ve been successful, you didn’t get there on your own.  You didn’t get there on your own.  I’m always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart.  There are a lot of smart people out there.  It must be because I worked harder than everybody else.  Let me tell you something — there are a whole bunch of hardworking people out there.”
Not that it comes as even the slightest surprise, but CBS News reveals itself as little more than an arm of the Obama campaign . . . infrastructure. (Newsbusters)

Then on 60 Minutes one of the First questions they can come up with, a Talkign point: Bob Schieffer: How many years of tax returns did you turn over to the campaign?

Ryan shoots back: I’m going to be releasing two, which is what he’s releasing. What I hear from people around this country, they’re not asking where the tax returns. They’re asking where the jobs are. Where’s the economic growth? Those are the issues that matter. I think these are more or less distractions to try and take us off the fact that the president has given us failed policies that aren’t working, that are putting us deeper into debt, that are costing us jobs. And so, we’re going to focus on what it takes to turn this country around and get people back to work.

So much for that Talking Point. But they keep at it because they are childish bullies and it’s the only “journalism” they know how to do.

David Axelrod: Starting now, we can expect even more wealthy, right-wing ideologues lining up to support the Romney-Ryan ticket.
The people on the other side who are trying to buy this election are putting nasty, deceptive TV ads on the air right this very minute. They’re not going away. They’re getting worse.

He ignores his own nasty, deceptive ads, of course. He’s a Liberal. His attacks don’t count.

Paul Ryan is simply a guy who knows how to do math, something the Obama administration isn’t very good at.

For the GOP’s conservative base, Ryan’s entry holds the tantalizing promise of elevating Romney’s game, inciting a debate on the familiar and friendly battlefield of the tea party-dominated 2010 midterms.

The 42-year-old Wisconsin congressman “knows the game — he knows math — he knows exactly what the country needs,” said Alan Simpson, the former Republican senator from Wyoming Obama tapped to co-chair his deficit commission.

“There will be an adult conversation, therefore the children will throw emotion, fear, guilt, and racism on him,” he added. “They will bomb him, bomb him, shell him coastline and bunker, and he will survive. He has facts. He uses math. He’s damn good. He’s excellent.

And boy do liberals hate FACTS!!:)

Ryan:“We won’t replace our Founding principles, we will reapply them,” he effectively challenged Obama to say what Obama believes, which is: Madison was an extremist in enunciating the principles of limited government — the enumeration and separation of powers. And Jefferson was an extremist in asserting that government exists not to grant rights but to “secure” natural rights that pre-exist government. (hot air)

So do you want a government that takes “care” of you or a government that lets you take care of yourself!

NOVEMBER IS COMING

How Goes the War?

The grand plan of Obama is working.

High Gas Prices, low employment and a stagnant economy riddled with inflation is making people use less fossil fuels.

Traffic congestion dropped 30% last year from 2010 in the USA’s 100 largest metropolitan areas, driven largely by higher gas prices and a spotty economic recovery, according to a new study by a Washington-state firm that tracks traffic flows.

But they better off than they were 4 years ago. OF COURSE NOT.

But the Solyndra-Loving, fossil fuel hating Liberals I bet are all over the moon excited.

It’s not like they care WHY the numbers have dropped. Because they don’t.

******

A group of disgruntled stay-at-home moms is fighting back against a 2009 law that limits credit card access to people with proof of income.

The group says the Credit CARD Act of 2009 sets women back half a century, according to an online petition at change.org.

2009? When the Democrats had a majority in both houses. Hmm…

I guess Stay-At-Home Moms along with “never having held a job their lives” and since they don’t “understand” economics after all they just don’t need credit cards. Let that be the Man of The House’s Job! 🙂

Intending to limit irresponsible lending, the law requires credit card applicants to provide proof of income in order to qualify. Stay-at-home moms, with no income, do not qualify for approval, unless their husbands co-sign for the card, which has the group of angered moms fighting back.

“It is 2012, and because I’m a stay at home mom, I can’t get my own credit card,” the petition reads. “My husband has to give me permission to get my own line of credit. This is demeaning and flat out unfair.”

So would this be the Democrats “War on Women”?? 🙂
Bet the Minsitry of Truth will be all over this 24/7/365! 🙂
Or do you have to be a “rich” woman with her own money (like Teresa Hines Kerry) or one that can afford the $38,500 per plate at an Obama Fundraiser?
The group is also asking their members to send a letter to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, claiming “the new rules send a message that stay-at-home parents are not as credit-worthy as young adults still in school without their own income.”
This was the board set up in Dodd-Frank that was going to save us all from the unscrupulous, evil, greedy, bankers and mortgage companies that forced people to take loans they could afford to pay back and then they traded them around as derivatives until they crashed.
Imagine what they can do with Health Care! 🙂

Obama: “As you begin the next stage in your journey, you will encounter greed and selfishness; ignorance and cruelty. …  (and that’s just from Democrats and Unions) You will meet people who try to build themselves up by tearing others down (Liberals); who believe looking after others is only for suckers,” (that’s the governments job after all) he said.

“My deepest hope for all of you … [is that] you can serve as a reminder that we’re not meant to walk this road alone (Government is right at every step to “help” you); that we’re not expected to face down adversity by ourselves,” (You have the government largess to fall back on) he told his audience. “We’re stronger together than we are on our own.”

Yes, Comrade, it Takes a Village!!!
Maybe they need government issued Credit Cards? 🙂
Oh, that’s right, that happened during Katrina and their was massive fraud! 🙂

But don’t worry, he gets a pass on anything he says.

Pelosi: “We know we have to balance the budget.  (1,1,30 Days since the Senate passed a budget at all- so we believe you Nancy!) We have to establish our priorities and make the cuts accordingly (The Military and every other “right wing” program we can get our hands on). We have to have revenue on the table (Screw the rich!) and we have to invest in growth (Spend even more!) because the creation of jobs (and the unemployment over 8% for 3 1/4 years and millions and millions deserting the workforce all together has certainly shown they way) is what will bring revenue to the Treasury (But not like taxing the rich will) and continue our economic recovery which is important to the American people,” (what recovery? where in your liberal fantasies?) Pelosi said Thursday at the Capitol.

“So to toss this into the mix right now, saying we have to have cuts that exceed even the lifting of the extent to which we lift the debt ceiling is really immature, irresponsible, let’s get serious.” (DC)

Who cares if we are spending 50% more than we  take in. All we have to do is tax the rich into oblivion and  submission and then cut the military to two tricycles and a pop-gun and everything will be rosy and wonderful!

It’s the Republicans fault, after all, that we haven’t passed a budget in well over 3 1/4 years and voted down Obama’s budget 2 years running…

Thomas Sowell: The fact that so many successful politicians are such shameless liars is not only a reflection on them, it is also a reflection on us. When the people want the impossible, only liars can satisfy them, and only in the short run. The current outbreaks of riots in Europe show what happens when the truth catches up with both the politicians and the people in the long run.Among the biggest lies of the welfare states on both sides of the Atlantic is the notion that the government can supply the people with things they want but cannot afford. Since the government gets its resources from the people, if the people as a whole cannot afford something, neither can the government. There is, of course, the perennial fallacy that the government can simply raise taxes on “the rich” and use that additional revenue to pay for things that most people cannot afford. What is amazing is the implicit assumption that “the rich” are all such complete fools that they will do nothing to prevent their money from being taxed away. History shows otherwise.

After the Constitution of the United States was amended to permit a federal income tax, in 1916, the number of people reporting taxable incomes of $300,000 a year or more fell from well over a thousand to fewer than three hundred by 1921.

Were the rich all getting poorer? Not at all. They were investing huge sums of money in tax-exempt securities. The amount of money invested in tax-exempt securities was larger than the federal budget, and nearly half as large as the national debt.

This was not unique to the United States or to that era. After the British government raised their income tax on the top income earners in 2010, they discovered that they collected less tax revenue than before. Other countries have had similar experiences. Apparently the rich are not all fools, after all.

In today’s globalized world economy, the rich can simply invest their money in countries where tax rates are lower.

So, if you cannot rely on “the rich” to pick up the slack, what can you rely on? Lies.

Nothing is easier for a politician than promising government benefits that cannot be delivered. Pensions such as Social Security are perfect for this role. The promises that are made are for money to be paid many years from now — and somebody else will be in power then, left with the job of figuring out what to say and do when the money runs out and the riots start.

There are all sorts of ways of postponing the day of reckoning. The government can refuse to pay what it costs to get things done. Cutting what doctors are paid for treating Medicare patients is one obvious example.

That of course leads some doctors to refuse to take on new Medicare patients. But this process takes time to really make its full impact felt — and elections are held in the short run. This is another growing problem that can be left for someone else to try to cope with in future years.

Increasing amounts of paperwork for doctors in welfare states with government-run medical care, and reduced payments to those doctors, in order to stave off the day of bankruptcy, mean that the medical profession is likely to attract fewer of the brightest young people who have other occupations available to them — paying more money and having fewer hassles. But this too is a long-run problem — and elections are still held in the short run.

Eventually, all these long-run problems can catch up with the wonderful-sounding lies that are the lifeblood of welfare state politics. But there can be a lot of elections between now and eventually — and those who are good at political lies can win a lot of those elections.

As the day of reckoning approaches, there are a number of ways of seeming to overcome the crisis. If the government is running out of money, it can print more money. That does not make the country any richer, but it quietly transfers part of the value of existing money from people’s savings and income to the government, whose newly printed money is worth just as much as the money that people worked for and saved.

Printing more money means inflation — and inflation is a quiet lie, by which a government can keep its promises on paper, but with money worth much less than when the promises were made.

Is it so surprising voters with unrealistic hopes elect politicians who lie about being able to fulfill those hopes?

Not Really. And with nearly half the country not paying any income taxes and record levels of food stamps and 99 weeks of unemployment payments will they vote to cut their own throats or yours first?

President Obama’s proposed 2013 budget will forecast a $901 billion deficit for next year, falling far short of his goal to halve the deficit in four years.

The budget, an outline of which was released by the White House Friday night, will show a higher deficit this year than in 2011, up from $1.3 trillion to $1.33 trillion.

So that’s 3 strikes and hopefully he’s out! What a Turkey!

Wonder if this one will go down 96-0 like last years.

Mind you the US Senate that hasn’t passed a Budget in 1, 018 days has already telegraphed that it has no intention of passing a budget this year anyhow.

So this is largely an exercise in campaign BS. Which is all we’ve gotten since January 20th, 2009 anyhow.

The full blown still-born cow of a budget comes out Monday. I’m sure it will bloated, class envious, have lots of flashy fake or useless “cuts”, and totally political. What else would you expect.

“We will talk more before the end of the month on what corporate tax reform would look like,” the official said on Friday, confirming that it would include a call for “lower rates.”

Facing a potentially tough presidential re-election challenge this November, Obama will propose cutting the rate following the release of his 2013 budget plan on Monday, February 13, according to the sources, who were not authorized to speak on the record.

While he spent a big part of his January speech to Congress criticizing businesses for moving jobs overseas, Obama said that “companies that choose to stay in America get hit with one of the highest tax rates in the world.”

So what do you wanna bet it’s going to be very selective and very “democratic”. 🙂

You do it my way or else. Or he’ll propose all new taxes to make up for it, disguised as something else or some other Orwellian turn of phrase.

Typically with this White House “tax reform” means bend over you’re about to get a massive enema!

Gene Sperling, director of Obama’s National Economic Council, has told reporters that the president will be laying out “principles” for corporate tax reform close to the budget release.

Obama’s corporate plan will also include a new minimum tax on foreign profits earned in low tax countries – an unpopular idea in the corporate community. (yahoo)

“principles” eh…This should be good… 😦

Ann Coulter:Having given up on pillorying Mitt Romney for plundering his way to vast wealth — because, unfortunately, it isn’t true — the Non-Fox Media seem to have settled on denouncing him as a rich jerk.

Liberals are disgusted by people who made their own money, as Romney did at Bain Capital. But they admire ill-gotten gains, which is how John Kerry, John Edwards, Jon Corzine, John F. Kennedy, Franklin D. Roosevelt and innumerable other spokesmen for the downtrodden amassed their fortunes.

Democrats are very proud of the rich, patrician FDR — who inherited all of his money and then launched a series of federal entitlements designed to bankrupt America 60 years later.

JFK also inherited his wealth, from a father who made his money as a bootlegger and stock manipulator. (In their defense, both went on to create jobs for bartenders and prostitutes.)

Kerry is in a special category of the gigolo. He acquired his fortune by marrying someone, who married someone, who inherited the money — leading Kerry’s children to refer to Teresa Heinz Kerry as their “step-money.” In what can only be described as luck, Kerry’s first wife was also an heiress.

I’ve been diligently searching for the shrieks of horror from the media over John Kerry’s tax returns when he ran for president eight years ago, but I can’t find anything. (Although I did find a reference to Kerry’s having served in Vietnam. Anybody else hear about that?)

Even when Kerry refused to release his wife’s tax returns in order to avoid the humiliation of revealing his allowance, the press was demurely silent.

John Edwards made well over $50 million by shaking down hardworking doctors with junk science lawsuits — as the New York Times has since admitted. The highlight of his sideshows was when he channeled unborn children in front of illiterate jurors.

(In the Democrats’ moral universe, the unborn have no right to life, but they’re perfectly acceptable as witnesses for the plaintiff in a malpractice suit.)

Democrats were overjoyed with Wall Street financier-turned Democratic politician Jon Corzine. It was just three years ago, in 2009, when President Obama was hailing Corzine as one of the “best partners I have in the White House.” Today, prosecutors are trying to find out what Corzine did with hundreds of millions of his customers’ money.

The media do everything they can to avoid looking into these mountebanks when they are active politicians. Then, when they’re out of office, the NFM summarily announce that they always knew the Democrats were sleazeballs, and why are we still talking about them?
It’s never a good time to talk about Democrat plutocrats until it’s way too late to talk about them. With Corzine, we’ll have a window of three seconds to talk about his financial shenanigans. He’s innocent until proved gui — Convicted! — What? You’re still burbling about that guy?

Liberals will be carrying on about Richard Nixon until we’re all long dead. Why has the time passed for them to really examine the man who was their vice presidential candidate only eight years ago and was desperately seeking the presidential slot four years ago?

Until we hear ferocious denunciations of FDR, JFK, Kerry, Edwards and Corzine, liberals have no business criticizing Bain Capital.

Maybe some people are irrationally offended by the rich, but Democrats aren’t. It’s the party of George Soros, Goldman Sachs and Nancy Pelosi!

The six wealthiest senators are all Democrats, half of whom married or inherited their money. Some other multimillionaire Democrats are:

• Jay Rockefeller of West Virginia, the second-richest senator after Kerry, who inherited his money.

• Dianne Feinstein of California, the sixth-richest senator, who married her money.

• Maria Cantwell of Washington, a bogus dot-com multimillionaire who cashed out before the stock crashed.

• Claire McCaskill of Missouri, the ninth-richest senator, who failed to pay taxes on her private plane until she was caught last year, and who married her money.

Meanwhile, with few exceptions, Republicans either made money on their own or they don’t have it. It’s no accident Democrats oppose a tax on wealth, of which they have boatloads, but strongly support taxes on income, which they typically do not have.

Democrats don’t hate the rich; they are the rich, luxuriating in fortunes acquired by inheritance or marriage, fleecing the taxpayer, trial lawyer hucksterism or disreputable money manipulation. Their contempt is reserved for those who engage in honest work for a living, whom they accuse of “greed” for wanting to pay the government a little less.

As I have said many times before, I believe the greediest people in this country are Liberals. Period.

Responsibility

Despite endless talk of spending cuts and fiscal restraint in Washington over the past year, lawmakers continued to act as though the government doesn’t spend nearly enough.

They introduced 874 bills in the House and Senate that would have boosted annual federal spending by more than $1 trillion if they’d all been signed into law, according to an analysis done for IBD by the National Taxpayers Union Foundation.

In contrast, lawmakers offered up just 215 bills to cut spending last year that would have reduced federal outlays by about half a trillion had they all been signed into law.

The analysis also found that for every dollar in cuts, lawmakers in the House proposed nearly $3 in spending hikes, and in the Senate $1.40 in hikes.

“Even at a time of massive deficits, Congress is still mostly occupied with pushing ideas to expand government spending,” said Demian Brady, senior policy analyst at the NTUF, which has been tracking spending bills for more than 20 years through its BillTally project.

Brady notes that a big chunk of the spending tab comes from proposals by liberals in Congress that would transform the nation’s health care into an entirely government-run “single payer” system. Absent those single-payer bills, the net effect of all the legislation introduced would be close to a wash.

The analysis also found a shift, at least, toward more spending cuts. “We are seeing more and bigger cut bills,” said Brady, “and a smaller ratio of increase to cut bills than in last Congress.”

That could change, however, should Democrats succeed in winning back control of the House in November.

The NTUF analysis found that congressional Democrats are by far the biggest spenders. Last year, 692 spending-hike bills had either all or majority Democratic sponsorship. Republicans, in contrast, sponsored just 126 such bills.

At the other end of the spectrum, GOP lawmakers introduced 172 bills that would have cut federal spending, compared with just 33 such bills offered up by Democrats.

Even if few of these bills were likely to make it all the way to the president’s desk, they are a sign of the ongoing pressure in Congress to boost spending, budget experts say, since there is far more time and energy spent on proposals to expand government than to shrink it.

It’s one reason budget caps have typically failed to hold in the past, and why proposed spending cuts often fail to materialize, these experts note.

For example, presidents routinely offer up dozens if not hundreds of programs they think should get the axe — President Clinton’s 1995 budget had 115 of them — but few ever got acted upon and many show up on target lists year after year.

And in the past 50 years, annual inflation-adjusted spending on domestic programs — education, transportation, the environment, etc. — has declined just six times; and five of those years occurred during the Reagan administration.

(and in California they want to spend $100 Billion dollars on a High Speed Rail that is a pure boondoggle–it used to be $10 billion when proposed- in a state with Budget deferrals, required reimbursements and related debt now total nearly $40 billion.)

As a result, spending on these programs as a share of GDP has climbed by more than 26% since 1962. That doesn’t include spending on entitlement programs, which has seen its share of the economy nearly triple over those years.

Defense spending, in contrast, is not nearly as immune to spending cuts — the Pentagon’s annual budget was cut in 19 of the past 50 years. And even with the recent buildup, defense spending as a share of the economy is about half what it was in 1962.

When President Obama introduced his budget last year, he made it clear that spending cuts were a critical part of getting federal deficits under control.

“All of us agree,” he said referring to Democratic and Republican congressional leaders, “that we have to cut spending, and all of us agree that we have to get our deficits under control and our debt under control.”

But unless that message sinks in on Capitol Hill, it’s not clear that real, deep spending cuts will ever actually materialize. (IBD)

Because the lead Drug dealers (the drug: money) won’t cut themselves off. They have to pimp themselves and pimp others to keep their supply going.

And the others want to be pimped.

So the drug addict pimps the drug dependent and the drug dependent pimp the drug addict.

Cut the other guys “greed” but don’t you dare cut mine!

My drug dealer is ok, it the other guys jerks that need to be defeated.

And people like me who want to the whole thing to stop are shut out as “whackos” “racists” “morons” “stupid”.

Disparity Part II By Thomas Sowell

One of the ways of trying to reduce the vast disparities in economic success, which are common in countries around the world, is by making higher education more widely available, even for people without the money to pay for it.

This can be both a generous investment and a wise investment for a society to make. But, depending on how it is done, it can also be a foolish and even dangerous investment, as many societies around the world have learned the hard way.

When institutions of higher learning turn out highly qualified doctors, scientists, engineers and others with skills that can raise the standard of living of a whole society and make possible a better and longer life, the benefits are obvious.

What is not so obvious, but is painfully true nonetheless, is that colleges and universities can also turn out vast numbers of people with credentials, but with no marketable skills with which to fulfill their expectations. There is nothing magic about simply being in ivy-covered buildings for four years.

Statistics are often thrown around in the media, showing that people with college degrees earn higher average salaries than people without them. But such statistics lump together apples and oranges — and lemons.

A decade after graduation, people whose degrees were in a hard field like engineering earned twice as much as people whose degrees were in the ultimate soft field, education. Nor is a degree from a prestigious institution a guarantee of a big pay-off, especially not for those who failed to specialize in subjects that would give them skills valued in the real world.

But that is not even half the story. In countries around the world, people with credentials but no marketable skills have been a major source of political turmoil, social polarization and ideologically driven violence, sometimes escalating into civil war.

People with degrees in soft subjects, which impart neither skills nor a realistic understanding of the world, have been the driving forces behind many extremist movements with disastrous consequences.

These include what a noted historian called the “well-educated but underemployed” Czech young men who promoted ethnic identity politics in the 19th century, which led ultimately to historic tragedies for both Czechs and Germans in 20th century Czechoslovakia. It was much the same story of soft-subject “educated” but unsuccessful young men who promoted pro-fascist and anti-Semitic movements in Romania in the 1930s.

The targets have been different in different countries but the basic story has been much the same. Those who cannot compete in the marketplace, despite their degrees, not only resent those who have succeeded where they have failed, but push demands for preferential treatment, in order to negate the “unfair” advantages that others have.

Similar attempts to substitute political favoritism for developing one’s own skills and achievements have been common as well in India, Nigeria, Malaysia, Fiji, Sri Lanka and throughout Central Europe and Eastern Europe between the two World Wars.

Such political movements cannot promote their agendas without demonizing others, thereby polarizing whole societies. Time and again, their targets have been those who have the skills and achievements that they lack. When they achieve their ultimate success, forcing such people out of the country, as in Uganda in the 1970s or Zimbabwe more recently, the whole economy can collapse.

Against this international background, the current class warfare rhetoric in American politics and ethnic grievance ideology in our schools and colleges, can be seen as the dangerous things they are. Those who are pushing such things may be seeking nothing more than votes for themselves or some unearned group benefits at other people’s expense. But they are playing with dynamite.

The semi-literate sloganizing of our own Occupy Wall Street mobs recalls the distinction that Milton Friedman often made between those who are educated and those who have simply been in schools. Generating more such people, in the name of expanding education, may serve the interests of the Obama administration but hardly the interests of America.

What You’re Up Against

“Part of my platform is, of course, the guilty must be punished and that we no longer let our children see their guilty leaders getting away with murder. Because it teaches children, you know, that they don’t have to have any morals as long as they have guns and are bullies and I don’t think that’s a good message,” Barr told Russia Today (RT).

“I do say that I am in favor of the return of the guillotine and that is for the worst of the worst of the guilty.

“I first would allow the guilty bankers to pay, you know, the ability to pay back anything over $100 million [of] personal wealth because I believe in a maximum wage of $100 million. And if they are unable to live on that amount of that amount then they should, you know, go to the reeducation camps and if that doesn’t help, then being beheaded,” Barr said with a straight face.

Mind you, all the Liberals, like Barney Frank who are equally if not more so, responsible for this mess are completely outside of her universe.

And don’t worry, it’s the conservatives and Tea Partiers who are the violent psychopaths who just want to destroy with their racist rhetotic, after all. 🙂

And she has an estimated net worth of $80 million dollars so she fine with herself being very, very rich.

Frances Fox Piven (at the Wall Street lynching rallies): I think we desperately need a popular uprising in the United States.

Yeah, the current one you don’t like, so they don’t count, they are called the Tea Party. 🙂

Isn’t ideological orthodoxy fun. 🙂

Bill Maher: wants to know the exact date former Vice President Dick Cheney, whose days are “numbered,” will die so he can call the catering for a death celebration party of some sort.

More Bile from that Liberal Bastion of  “journalists” at MSNBC:

O’donnell: “the Republican Party of the 21st Century, if we are to judge by the debate audiences, has obviously lost its soul.”

So along with racist, mean, vicious, unpatriotic, the opposition to Democrats are now souless.

Anyone for “negotiating” for a “compromise” with such people. 🙂

The “Super” Committee

Democrats want tax hikes to be the first item negotiated in “super committee” deficit-reduction talks, trying to force Republicans to confront an issue at the heart of this year’s budget fights, sources told Reuters.

In other words, they want to play political games and create TV ads to shame the Republicans into doing what they want so that they win the fight and do nothing substantive like CUTTING SPENDING. Gee, no one saw that coming… 🙂

The panel has the task of finding ways of cutting the deficit by at least $1.2 trillion over 10 years.

That’s $120 Billion a year.

The National Debt has continued to increase an average of $3.89 billion per day since September 28, 2007.

These idiots will spend that in a month. Ohh! Look we’re doing something. Now we’ll just be overspending 11 months of the year! Hurray!! 😦

We need to cut Trillions in One Year ya morons!

But Washington politicians of any stripe will never do it. But the Liberals surely never will.

During the super committee’s initial closed-door meetings, “Republicans wanted to just talk about spending cuts and Democrats said, ‘No,'” the aide said.

So bend over and spread ’em wide the galactic sized smoke machine is about to go right up your backside. Meanwhile they will be stealing your wallet.

ObamaCare

Following two major studies revealing that millions of businesses — big and small — will dump their employees’ healthcare plans once Obamacare fully kicks in, an ebullient Howard Dean extolled that outcome.

Dean calls this “incredibly good”news for small businesses because they’ll no longer have to pay for their employees’ plans.  Setting aside the fact that this is an obvious breach of Obama’s dishonest “like your plan/keep your plan” pledge, another reality is that all of those employees will have to get their healthcare somewhere — and that somewhere will be on the government-subsidized exchanges.  This, in turn, will cost billions upon billions of additional dollars.  Plus, in light of Obamacare’s individual mandate and guaranteed issue rules, a lot of people will pay the relatively low non-compliance fine until they really need “insurance” (by that point, it’s no longer really insurance), at which point the health insurance companies will be forced to take these patients.  In order to make up for those hits to their bottom lines and stay in business, insurers will raise premiums on everyone else.

The health-insurance premiums employers pay rose sharply this year, with the average annual cost of family coverage passing the $15,000 mark for the first time, according to a major survey.  The 9% average increase, reported in an annual poll of employers performed by the Kaiser Family Foundation and the Health Research and Educational Trust, comes despite a continued trend toward more limited use of medical services in the U.S. Last year, family premiums rose just 3%, the survey found. Employers’ average annual family premium for 2011 was $15,073, up from $13,770 last year

Thanks, Obamacare!  The reason that Dean is so cheery over this devastating news is that once enough employers drop their coverage, and anger over premium increases reaches a critical mass, he and his fellow Leftists will be poised to swoop in an push single-payer health care as the only solution.  This is, and has always been, their long-term goal And “they” includes Barack Obama.  Toss in crippling doctor shortages, huge middle class tax hikes, startling coverage oversights, and ramped up bureaucratic rationing, and it becomes fairly clear why support for repeal is as stable and robust as it is.  Republicans might get that shot after 2012.  Until then, they may have to keep their fingers crossed that the Supremes will grease the skids substantially.

If Obamacare falls, what alternative will Republicans propose?  Rep. Paul Ryan gave a major address at Stanford University this week, in which he outlined a free-market, cost-lowering healthcare reform package.  The Wall Street Journal editorial board and healthcare policy expert Avik Roy applaud the tent pole of Ryan’s plan, as described by CNN Money’s Shawn Tully:

Ryan argues that the tax laws make it far cheaper for a corporation to purchase coverage for workers than for the worker to buy a similar policy on their own. He’s correct. For example, ABK Auto Parts (a hypothetical employer) can provide a worker with a $50,000 salary with a $15,000 family policy without including that $15,000 in the worker’s compensation, so the benefit is tax-free to the employee. Under the current tax regime, if the company simply increased the worker’s salary by $15,000 to $65,000, he or she would have to pay tax on that extra income — say at a 25% rate, including payroll levies. Hence, the worker would be to buy only an $11,250 policy with the extra pay. “This tilts the compensation scale toward benefits, which are tax-free, and away from wages, which are taxable,” the speech says.

He also argues that the system is especially helpful to the “rich:” “It also provides ways for high-income earners to artificially reduce their tax-able income by purchasing high-cost health coverage — which in turn can fuel the overuse of health services.” So what’s Ryan’s solution? He proposes shifting the tax exemption that now goes only to company-provided plans to individuals instead. In our example, if ABK Auto Parts keeps providing coverage, employees will need to pay tax on the value of the policies. But the employee will be able to buy a policy on their own and get a tax credit for the entire cost of the plan.

If Ryan’s plan becomes law, it’s likely that most companies would drop their plans. Why provide coverage when employees now pay tax on the benefit but get a tax credit if they buy their own plans? The advantage is that employees would no longer lose their coverage if they lose their jobs. The policies would belong to them and be fully portable to the next job. It would also turn workers into consumers, giving them an incentive to shop for the lowest cost plans with their own money.

But since it comes from the Son of the Devil, you forget about anyone on the left in politics or the media saying anything but nuclear war style crap bombs about it.

Democrats, it goes without saying, are licking their chops to demagogue this plan, as Obama successfully did in 2008.  It’s what they do best:  Scare the hell out of people by lying about conservative solutions, then angrily insist that big government fixes are the only safe, responsible options.  One wonders if the American public is wising up to this scam, especially in light of how magnificently Democrats statist “solutions” have turned out over the last three years. (Guy Benson)

I have been saying a lot of this for 2 years. So I am in agreement with the analysis.

But don’t worry, if you object you’re just a mean old heartless racist. No big deal 🙂

Now don’t you feel better. 🙂

The Real Story

To make this easier I have removed the Trillions (now dollars) and the like to simplify it.

You take in $2.00

You spend $3.60

So now when people are screaming at you to cut spending you say “ok I’ll  promise that my ‘super committee’ will cut .15 cents a year (That’s a $1.50 over TEN years) if you let me spend another $1 NOW on top of what I am ALREADY spending.

I will gladly pay you .15 cents on Thursday if you loan me a dollar now.

Oh, you don’t want to?

Well, rich Uncle Warren can afford it. He has more than he needs so let’s force him to give it to me.

And that will solve everything.

It’s only “fair” He has more than me, or you, after all.

And what are you going to do with that dollar, young man, you might ask? Pay down your debts?

No. I’m going to spend it on my union buddies, entitlements, and government jobs so they can kick it back to me for my campaign just like I have done before.

So how is that going to create more jobs?

It will create government jobs (government jobs are paid for by whom exactly? — taxpayers! and unions make up how much of the actual workforce- 18%!!).

The Top 2% spend 1/3 of all the consumer cash in this country. They also pay the most taxes.

The Top 1% pay nearly 40% of all the income taxes.

47% of all American pay no income taxes AT ALL.

But the rich  are the greedy bastards who have to be taken down by the Bolsheviks.

Hate them!

Mind you they create most of the actual jobs.

But they are evil, hoarding little bastards and we must take their money.

Not cut spending or pay down the debt. We need to give out more freebies to my apparatchiks and monetary drug dealers.

The number of households receiving food stamps swelled by 2 million to 13.6 million, meaning that nearly 1 in 8 receives the government aid.

But food stamps are an economic stimulus according to Obama Administration officials. So it’s all good.

In record-setting numbers, young adults struggling to find work are shunning long-distance moves to live with Mom and Dad, delaying marriage and buying fewer homes, often raising kids out of wedlock. They suffer from the highest unemployment since World War II and risk living in poverty more than others – nearly 1 in 5.

“We have a monster jobs problem, and young people are the biggest losers,” said Andrew Sum, an economist and director of the Center for Labor Market Studies at Northeastern University. He noted that for recent college grads now getting by with waitressing, bartending and odd jobs, they will have to compete with new graduates for entry-level career positions when the job market eventually does improve.

“Their really high levels of underemployment and unemployment will haunt young people for at least another decade,” Andrew Sum, an economist and director of the Center for Labor Market Studies at Northeastern University said.

In all, the employment-to-population ratio for all age groups from 2007-2010 dropped faster than for any similar period since the government began tracking the data in 1948. In the past year, 43 of the 50 largest U.S. metropolitan areas continued to post declines in employment, led by Charlotte, N.C., Jacksonville, Fla., Las Vegas, Phoenix, Los Angeles and Detroit, all cities experiencing a severe housing bust, budget deficits or meltdowns in industries such as banking or manufacturing.

Without work, young adults aren’t starting careers and lives in new cities, instead hanging out with their parents.

“Many young adults are essentially postponing adulthood and all of the family responsibilities and extra costs that go along with it,” said Mark Mather, an associate vice president at the private Population Reference Bureau. He described a shift toward a new U.S. norm – commonly seen in Europe – in which more people wait until their 30s to leave the parental nest. (AP)

And it’s “the rich”‘s fault don’t you know!. And Republicans “protect” the rich so vote for me (the Democrat) because the other guy’s an asshole!

If we just SPEND EVEN MORE and have even more government largess everything will eventually work out.

If you bang your head against the wall hard enough YOU WILL BREAK THE WALL!

The Wimpy President : Wimpy is soft-spoken, very intelligent, and well educated, but also cowardly, very lazy, overly parsimonious and utterly gluttonous. He is also something of a scam artist and, especially in the newspaper strip, can be notoriously underhanded at times.

“I’ll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today”

I’ll gladly cut $1.5 Trillion OVER TEN YEARS (most of which I won’t be the President for) if I can spend yet another Trillion Now!

And if you don’t let me “pass the bill now” you’re just an obstructionist protecting greedy rich people, and a violent tea-bagger racist! 🙂

New campaign ad for Obama in Spanish only, “In the face of Republicans, the President can’t do it alone. Read the plan. Stand together for more jobs.”

Welcome to Obamanomics. The Land of Opportunists and Apparatchiks!

As the U.S. government grapples to find ways to trim the bloated federal deficit, a new report suggests officials might start with cutting out $16 muffins and $10 cookies.

“We found the Department (of Justice) spent $16 on each of the 250 muffins served at an August 2009 legal conference in Washington,” said a DOJ Office of Inspector General report released on Tuesday.

The DOJ spent $121 million on conferences in fiscal 2008 and 2009, which exceeded its own spending limits and appeared to be extravagant and wasteful, according to the report that examined 10 conferences held during that period.

The review turned up the expensive muffins, which came from the Capital Hilton Hotel just blocks from the White House, as well as cookies and brownies that cost almost $10 each.

The department spent $32 per person on snacks of Cracker Jack, popcorn, and candy bars and coffee that cost $8.24 per cup at another conference, the report said.

The DOJ also spent nearly $600,000 for event planning services for five conferences, the document said.

A Justice Department spokeswoman said most of the gathering were held when there were no strict limits on food and beverage costs, adding the DOJ had taken steps since 2009 “to ensure that these problems do not occur again.”

Word of the agency’s extravagant spending drew a swift response from Capitol Hill.

Senator Chuck Grassley, the senior Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee which has oversight of the Justice Department, said the report was a blueprint for the first cuts that should be made by the “super committee” searching for at least $1.2 trillion in savings.

“Sixteen dollar muffins and $600,000 for event planning services are what make Americans cynical about government and why they are demanding change,” Grassley said in a statement. “People are outraged, and rightly so.” (yahoo)

Dumb & Dumber

Political Cartoons by Lisa Benson

IBD: Over the weekend, President Obama encouraged everyone to read his jobs proposal and judge it for themselves. We took him up on his offer, and found five more reasons to kill the bill.

We’ve noted how Obama’s so-called jobs bill is an expensive rehash of all the policy failures he’s already imposed on the country, with the only new idea being several job-killing tax hikes.

But when he urged Americans during his weekly Saturday address to read the bill and decide for themselves, we thought we’d give the 155-page bill another try. Our conclusion: It’s even worse than we thought. Among the dumber ideas tucked in:

Wage insurance: The bill would let states use unemployment funds to make up the difference between an over-50 worker’s previous wage and what he gets paid at his new job. Why not? Isn’t it written in the Bill of Rights somewhere that no American shall ever be forced to take a job paying less than his previous one?

Bridge to nowhere: Obama claims his “Bridge to Work” idea will let people on unemployment “participate in temporary work as a way to build their skills,” citing the Georgia Works program as an example. But as Reuters reported, only 92 had signed up for that program since February and, according to the person in charge, it’s “fraught with problems.”

48th federal jobs training program: Obama would also create a $50 million training program for transportation jobs. Does he really think another federal jobs training program on top of the 47 existing failures — costing a combined $18 billion — will make a difference?

Let’s share: Borrowing from job-creation machines such as Italy, the bill would let companies cut workers’ hours, rather than lay them off, with unemployment insurance making up most of the difference in pay.

Sounds great, except that it would be ripe for abuse. And while more than a dozen states — including California and New York — already have similar “work share” programs, almost no one uses them because of all the fraud-preventing red tape involved.

Sued for hiring: How do you get jittery businesses to hire? Threaten to sue them if they hire someone who already has a job! At least, that’s how the White House thinks. It stuffed in a provision to make it illegal to “discriminate” against the unemployed when hiring.

Given all this dreck, is it any wonder that so few have bothered to take Obama up on his oft-repeated call for citizens to flood lawmakers’ offices with demands that they “pass this bill”?

But if you don’t you’re an “obstructionist”, a “do-nothing” “tea bagger” “racist” 🙂

And where is the actual spending cuts? Look in the mirror, see the smoke…

Gee, that make me feel better now. How about you? 🙂

MORE GREEN FRAUD

Political Cartoons by Glenn McCoy

Shortly after taking office, President Barack Obama defended the weatherization portion of the stimulus bill in a February 2009 CBS interview, saying it would immediately put people back to work, reduce energy costs and lay the groundwork for future energy independence.

“What would be a more effective stimulus package than that?” said Obama at the time. “That’s exactly the kind of program that we should be funding.”

In total, the stimulus program allocated about $5 billion to the cause of home weatherization, outfitting homes with the latest green technology in order to reduce energy prices.

But in October 2010, Gregory H. Friedman, Inspector General at the Department of Energy, issued a scathing report on Illinois’ weatherization program funded with stimulus dollars.

Among his findings were that 14 out of 15 “weatherized” homes failed final inspection because of poor workmanship and 12 out of 15 homes contained substandard work that could have “resulted in significant property damage or injury to the homeowners.”

But Friedman’s report didn’t stop there.

In one weatherized home, 11 out of 14 items the weatherization contractor installed failed inspection. Another home had an improperly installed exhaust system that turned out to be a potential fire hazard.

The audit also found that the number of gas leaks discovered was “alarming.”

Worst still, Friedman reported that contractors hired to weatherize homes charged homeowners prices significantly higher than market value for the items they installed.

“For example, CEDA’s published prices for smoke alarms, fire extinguishers, and thermostats ranged from about 120 percent to 200 percent over the average retail price,” reads the audit report. “Neither CEDA nor State officials could justify such large mark-ups on materials.”

The IG’s audit also turned up erroneous billing practices, where contractors would over-charge for services that were never carried out.

“Additionally, a contractor had installed one carbon monoxide detector, but had billed CEDA for 3; another contractor had installed 12 light bulbs, but had billed CEDA for 20; and, yet another had failed to install a gas shut-off valve, but had billed for the work. In addition, a contractor had billed for almost four times the amount of drywall actually installed,” reads the report.

When contacted by TheDC, a DOE spokesperson Bill Gibbons said, “The weatherization programs are creating thousands of jobs, helping families save money, and deploying new clean energy technologies in local communities around the country.”

“We always expected that it would take some time to get these programs fully up and running in the beginning, but we are on track to significantly exceed the 600,000 home goal set for the program,” Gibbons added. “The Department takes any reported case of abuse or poor performance very seriously, but these have been the exception rather than the rule and we have taken aggressive actions to address the issues and hold those responsible accountable.”

Still, one member of the advisory board overseeing the state program, Republican state Sen. Dan Duffy, resigned from the non-voting position in March 2011 because he so incensed at what he saw to be an obvious waste of taxpayer money

“The more questions I asked, the more I was told ‘Dan, you don’t really have a vote,’” Duffy told TheDC.

“I guess I don’t understand, when the state of Illinois literally cannot pay its bills and is going bankrupt, is this really the best use of money?” Duffy added. “I don’t care if its state or federal. Why are we spending millions of dollars with absolutely no credibility of how the spend that money?”

The story of Illinois’ weatherization program, however, doesn’t stop there.

The state-run program is being promoted by four separate public relations firms. Two of those firms have close ties to the Obama administration.

Gee, I guess we just need to spend even more money and give it more time. 🙂

Isn’t that the Liberal answer to everything?

But Illinois isn’t the only state that struggled with its weatherization program. Delaware suspended its program altogether after only nine months when it became apparent the fraud and mismanagement was getting out of control.

A state audit in Tennessee, which received more than $100 million in stimulus funds for weatherization, also found rampant waste and abuse. The 260-page report uncovered problems very similar to those in Illinois: work was done improperly and funds went to homeowners not even eligible for the program.

Illinois, Delaware and Tennessee are only three examples, but numerous reports show the mismanagement is widespread throughout then entire nationwide program.

“It was a set up for failure,” Duffy told TheDC.

But it “felt good”. And if some Democrat cronies benefit, so much the better. 🙂

Same old, Same old

Political Cartoons by Chip Bok

After receiving the president’s jobs proposal politely after he unveiled it before Congress last week, Boehner and other Republicans grew notably more skeptical Monday once the White House announced plans to pay for the costly measure entirely with tax increases on the rich and corporations that the GOP has already rejected.

Yeah, that’ll make them want to create more jobs. So much for “tax cuts”. 🙂

The bulk of the payment comes from nearly $400 billion from limiting the deductions on charitable contributions and other items that wealthy people can take. There’s also $40 billion from closing oil and gas loopholes, $18 billion from hiking taxes on certain income made by fund managers, and $3 billion from changing the tax treatment of corporate jets.

Obama has said he’s asking the wealthy to pay their fair share, and he called on Congress to pass the bill without delay.

“The only thing that’s stopping it is politics,” Obama said Monday. “And we can’t afford these same political games. Not now.”

Yeah, just ignore HIS POLITICS!!! Just ignore HIS POLITICAL GAMES!

I know the Ministry of Truth Media will. They will be too busy Cheerleading.

“We remain eager to work together on ways to support job growth, but this proposal doesn’t appear to have been offered in that bipartisan spirit,” said Boehner spokesman Brendan Buck.

It’s the Democrats BY-Partisan bi-partisanship where you do everything they want and if you don’t then you’re just being a partisan. 🙂

Obama’s top campaign strategist, David Axelrod, said Tuesday that the White House wants Congress to act on the entire bill rather than approaching it piecemeal. “We’re not in a negotiation to break up the package,” he said on ABC’s “Good Morning America.” “It’s not an a la carte menu.”

It’s ALL or Nothing. Do it now or else!. That’s your bi-partisan, no games, no politics, STIMULUS Tax and Spend Package. (Did any mention cutting spending?- NOPE and neither will they…)

Rejoice!

And if you don’t agree, you’re a partisan extremist, racist “terrorist”. Now don’t you feel better? 🙂

The White House, which has gotten burned in the past by making overly optimistic job-creation predictions, has avoided estimating how many jobs the package would create. But in an interview Monday on NBC News, Obama embraced an estimate from an outside economist, Mark Zandi of Moody’s Analytics, and said the bill “could mean an additional 2 million jobs.”

So if they aren’t “saved of created” they didn’t say it. So don’t blame them when it falls flat and bombs spectacularly.

With 14 Million unemployed, he’s really shooting for greatness! Gee, didn’t they say that ObamaCare would create millions of Jobs AND lower the deficit…why yes, they did…

Of Course they’ll largely be short term jobs (just enough to get him to 2013 perhaps??) and union jobs (more slush money for his re-election).

But no Games. No Politics. No narcissism involved. 🙂

But if you don’t do EXACTLY as THEY SAY with NO DEVIATIONS you’re just a partisan who wants to hurt people and be an obstructionist! 🙂

Thomas Sowell: Are we to continue doing the same kinds of things that have failed again and again, just because Obama delivers clever words with style and energy?

Once we get past the glowing rhetoric, what is the president proposing? More spending! Only the words have changed — from “stimulus” to “jobs” and from “shovel-ready projects” to “jobs for construction workers.”

If government spending were the answer, we would by now have a booming economy with plenty of jobs, after all the record trillions of dollars that have been poured down a bottomless pit. Are we to keep on doing the same things, just because those things have been repackaged in different words?

Or just because Obama now assures us that “everything in this bill will be paid for”? This is the same man who told us that he could provide health insurance to millions more people without increasing the cost.

When it comes to specific proposals, President Obama repeats the same kinds of things that have marked his past policies — more government spending for the benefit of his political allies, the construction unions and the teachers’ unions, and “thousands of transportation projects.”

The fundamental fallacy in all of this is the notion that politicians can “grow the economy” by taking money out of the private sector and spending it wherever it is politically expedient to spend it — so long as they call spending “investment.”

Has Obama ever grown even a potted plant, much less a business, a bank, a hospital or any of the numerous other institutions whose decisions he wants to control and override? But he can talk glibly about growing the economy.

Arrogance is no substitute for experience. That is why the country is in the mess it is in now.

Obama says he wants “federal housing agencies” to “help more people refinance their mortgages.” What does that amount to in practice, except having the taxpayers be forced to bail out people who bought homes they could not afford?

No doubt that is good politics, but it is lousy economics. When people pay the price of their own mistakes, that is when there is the greatest pressure to correct those mistakes. But when taxpayers who had nothing to do with those mistakes are forced to pay the costs, that is when those and other mistakes can continue to flourish — and to mess up the economy.

Whatever his deficiencies in economics, Barack Obama is a master of politics — including the great political game of “Heads I win and tails you lose.”

Any policy that shows any sign of achieving its goals will of course be trumpeted across the land as a success. But, in the far more frequent cases where the policy fails or turns out to be counterproductive, the political response is: “Things would have been even worse without this policy.”

It’s heads I win and tails you lose.

Thus, when unemployment went up after the massive spending that was supposed to bring it down, we were told that unemployment would have been far worse if it had not been for that spending.

Are we really supposed to fall for ploys like this? The answer is clearly “yes,” as far as Obama and his allies in the media are concerned.

Our intelligence was insulted even further in President Obama’s speech to Congress, when he set up this straw man as what his critics believe — that “the only thing we can do to restore prosperity is just dismantle government, refund everybody’s money, and let everyone write their own rules, and tell everyone they’re on their own.”

Have you heard anybody in any part of the political spectrum advocate that? If not, then why was the President of the United States saying such things, unless he thought we were fools enough to buy it — and that the media would never call him on it?

Bravo!

ROTFL!

But I still have to wonder why the Republicans keep having Liberals doing the questions so they throw “gotcha”-laden questions at them?

Oh well, since virtually all of the media is liberal it’s the cross you have to bear.

But at least if you do everything they want, you won’t be an obstructionist, extremist, racist, “terrorist” who just wants to get grandma out into the cold off a cliff and let her starve and freeze!!

Don’t you feel better now… 🙂

Contextualizing

Even in the midst of a massive liberal rant some truth will spring forth.

Then it will be “contextualized” later (reinterpreted so it’s not outside of the liberal orthodoxy and the Thought Police don’t haul him away).

MSNBC folks:

Dylan Ratigan, of MSNBC, went on a rant decrying Washington’s economic  plans on Tuesday, castigating Democrats and Republicans alike as  “reckless, irresponsible and stupid.”

On August 2, lawmakers agreed to raise the U.S.’s $14.3 trillion debt  ceiling and slash $2.4 trillion in spending over the next 10 years.  Since then, credit rating agency Standard & Poor has downgraded the  U.S.’s long-held pristine AAA credit rating to AA+.

Conversation speculating that Standard & Poor’s decision was  motivated by the fact that the deal covers less than the $4 trillion the  company wanted the U.S. to cut misses the point, Ratigan said.

“Tens of trillions of dollars are being extracted from the United  States of America. Democrats aren’t doing it, Republicans are not doing  it, an entire integrated system, financial system, trading system,  taxing system, that was created by both parties over a period of two  decades is at work on our entire country right now,” Ratigan said.

“I’m saying we’ve got a real problem…Republicans want to burn the  place to the ground and Democrats who want to offer a plan that gets it  through the next election, the end of the second term of their  presidency and then screws me and my kids when it’s over,” he said.

“We’re sitting here arguing about whether we should do the $4 trillion  plan that kicks the can down the road for the president for 2017, or  burn the place to the ground, both of which are reckless, irresponsible  and stupid.”

The Democrats only want to get Obama re-elected then after 2016 who gives a crap!? Sounds about right.

While, I don’t think the Republican want to burn the place down, I’m not sure about some who would think it is necessarily bad considering the elite mentality that won the day on the debt deal that was a political solution not an economic one.

Further evidence of this, John Kerry, the Ketchup heiress’s husband and Mr “I voted for it before I voted against it” boat tax evader was named to the so-called Super Committee that will try and figure out how to weasel out of anymore cuts.

Though, they may come up with more cuts in growth like the Debt Deal which are fake cuts made to look real. Real lipstick on a pig time.

A BBC journalist has spoken to two girls that took part in Monday night’s riots in Croydon, who boasted that they were showing police and “the rich” that “we can do what we want”.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-14458424

Audio of some rioters telling the reporter that the riots are “conservatives” fault, and that they are rioting to show the rich they can do what they want. This is what years of class-warfare/politics gets you… much like multiculturalism… it divides people and makes them think that they can never grasp at greatness by building and creating. Rather, it teaches people to destroy and to live off others.

When asked why they were attacking “their people” the locals, the little cherubs said they were business people and so they had to be rich…

Now flash back to the Wisconsin Unions in Madison…The guy being beaten in St. Louis by SEIU Union thugs…Tea Party “terrorists”….

Speaking of the SEIU…

A new Quinnipiac poll released today found that 67% of those surveyed felt that any deal to raise the debt ceiling should include tax hikes on the rich.

More voters considered (45%) Obama’s plan to raise revenue closing loopholes than they thought of it as a tax increase (37%), and Americans still haven’t forgotten about those tax hikes for the wealthy and corporations. Over 2/3 (67%) of those polled thought that the debt ceiling deal should include tax increases on the wealthy and corporations along with spending cuts.

Sound I mention Obama had no plan? He made speeches. That is not a plan.

But repeat a lie often enough and it becomes the truth and when you can repeat it 24/7/365 look out!!

But don’t worry, the Liberals won’t cause a meltdown for political “gain” by the stupid, uninformed, and the greedy here like they have in London. 😦

According to a new Quinnipiac poll, 54 percent of those surveyed say Bush is responsible for the “current condition” of the economy, compared to just 27 percent who blame Obama. Among self-described independent voters, a key 2012 voting bloc, the number shifts slightly: 49 percent point the finger at the former GOP president, while 24 percent blame Obama.

The former President is responsible for the 3rd straight Trillion Dollar yearly deficit and $4 trillion in additional debt!!

We’re Doomed!

Nobody in the left-dominated media bothers to note that in the last years of the Bush presidency Democrats controlled the Congress and thus had a death grip on the nation’s economy, having complete control over the nation’s purse strings. They spent and spent and spent the yet-uncollected taxes of future generations — as well as our own — as if there were no tomorrow.

It wasn’t a Bush Congress that jammed the incredible costs of Obamacare down the throats of the American people and their children and grandchildren — it was our spendthrift president and his allies on Capitol Hill doing their classic imitation of the legendary drunken sailors on shore leave.

It’s simply common sense to understand that spending money one doesn’t have in the hopes that the future will provide the needed funds is something like believing that some beneficent tooth fairy will come up with the money in the future.

Now the president and the national Democrat party have suddenly discovered a scapegoat for the latest economic mess they have thrust upon the American people. They insist that the credit-rating downgrade was the fault of the tea party trying to control the nation’s purse strings. I’m not kidding. They really expect us to swallow this whopper as the gospel truth.

They expect us to ignore the fact that the millions of tea party members are simply Americans deeply and sincerely concerned about the nation’s economy and the tendency of the government to spend their hard-earned tax money on whatever scam strikes its fancy.

It’s time to place the blame for our economic malaise where it belongs — on the shoulders of the Obama administration and the Democrats in Congress.

Tea party members have been the voice of reason, not the wild-eyed terrorists portrayed by the left’s crazy spin doctors.

What would have averted the credit-rating downgrade and the subsequent turmoil in the markets? Precisely the spending cuts advocated by the tea party.

According to a statement by Jenny Beth Martin, a co-founder and national coordinator of Tea Party Patriots, the debt-ceiling compromise was full of “accounting tricks and minor ‘cuts’ to spending.” She warns that these so-called cuts do not reduce our national debt. They are simply cuts to future deficit spending.

Rather than prevent a crisis, the debt deal has “already cost us our AAA credit rating,” according to Martin.

In addition, she explains that the tea party was the only organization pushing for the passage of the Full Faith and Credit Act, which would remove the threat of a national default.

A couple of hundred years ago a band of American patriots demonstrated their contempt for a distant Parliament that imposed unjust taxation upon citizens, with no say in the matter, by dumping British-taxed tea in Boston Harbor. It was one of the acts of defiance that helped spark the American Revolution and created a new nation.

Unlike the Boston tea party, today’s today’s tea party membership is nationwide and composed of people from every nook and cranny in this vast nation, but they feel the same determination to display their anger at the depredations of an out-of-control national government that the Boston patriots showed toward a distant monarch who legend tells us could not speak a word of English, preferring instead his native German.

It’s past time for a little tea dumping of our own — the bitter tea brewed by Barack Obama. (Michael Reagan)

The government’s long-term projections, bad as they are, also are based on rosy scenarios for economic growth. If the Obamalaise continues, we could see debt-to-GDP ratios north of 120% — the stuff of banana republics.

But the media will have plenty of riots to create and cover.

After all, it’s not their fault. It’s the Rich, the Tea party, and Business! 😦

Happy, Happy, Joy Joy…

So they are going to give Obama $2 Trillion Dollars more to spend. Yippee….

So by the end of his 4 years he’ll have spent more than everyone in the first 225 years of the country but don’t worry, it’s not his fault. It’s Bush’s fault. It’s the Republican’s fault.

<<barf bag overload>>

The Congress is addicted to spending. In the last 30 years the debt has risen from $1 trillion now to $16 Trillion by 2013.

But at least they don’t have to have a another battle until after the 2012 re-coronation ceremony for King Obama. That is unless the King decides to just blow the whole thing off and just summarily declare it raised.

Big cuts in government spending would be phased in over a decade. Thousands of programs _ the Park Service, Internal Revenue Service and Labor Department accounts among them _ could be trimmed to levels last seen years ago.

No benefit cuts were envisioned for the Social Security pension system or Medicare, the federal program that provides health care payments to the elderly. But other programs would be scoured for savings. Taxes would be unlikely to rise.

The phasing in of cuts, means they will suddenly phase out and never appear. No cuts in entitlements means they will crash in a few years.

But at least the Political infighting is largely over until the next time. 🙂

The emerging deal could mark a classic compromise, a triumph of divided government that would let both Obama and Republicans claim they had achieved their objectives. 🙂

The first step would take place immediately, raising the debt limit by nearly $1 trillion and cutting spending by a slightly larger amount over a decade.

That would be followed by creation of a new congressional committee that would have until the end of November to recommend $1.8 trillion or more in deficit cuts, targeting benefit programs such as Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security, or overhauling the tax code. Those deficit cuts would allow a second increase in the debt limit, which would be needed by early next year.

OH GOD! NOT ANOTHER COMMITTEE!!! NO!!!!!!!!

The last one did a lot of good when Obama, who set it up, didn’t like the answers so he ignored it.

If the committee failed to reach its $1.8 trillion target, or Congress failed to approve its recommendations by the end of 2011, lawmakers would then have to vote on a proposed balanced-budget constitutional amendment.

Which would be voted down so no consequence there.

If that failed to pass, automatic spending cuts totaling $1.2 trillion would automatically take effect, and the debt limit would rise by an identical amount.

So more spending.

Social Security, Medicaid and food stamps would be exempt from the automatic cuts, but payments to doctors, nursing homes and other Medicare providers could be trimmed, as could subsidies to insurance companies that offer an alternative to government-run Medicare.

You mean alternatives to  ObamaCare? 🙂

As the president demanded, the deal would allow the debt limit to rise by enough to tide the Treasury over until after the 2012 elections.

Yeah, don’t get in the way of his re-coronation.

But remember that Obama’s target constituency in 2012 is not his base but rather independent and moderate voters. And those fence-sitters love compromise in almost any form. (WP)

I’m an independent, but I don’t sit on no fence!

Losers

Congress: Coming into this debt-ceiling showdown, Congress was about as popular as poison ivy. One can only imagine just how much further that discontent has spread after this high-profile demonstration of brinkmanship and intransigence. Lawmakers — bless their hearts — seem entirely unaware of just how bad they looked during this fight and will almost certainly spend the next few weeks (or months) congratulating themselves on their tremendous magnanimity.

And the Liberal Media will ignore any bits that don’t fit with the mantra or with Campaign Obama.

But maybe we can form a Commission to study it. 🙂

“All you want to do is spend money, buy votes, and say you’re spreading the wealth around.”–Sen. Jeff Session to the Democrats.

Democrats gained control of the House of Representatives in 2006 and gained the White House in 2008. For the past five years, Democrats have controlled the legislative process and for almost three years, Dems have controlled the Executive agencies. Democrat bungling and demagoguery have become the order of the day. The outright lies told to fellow members of congress and to the American people would make Pinocchio blush.

Is it any wonder that Republicans in congress find it hard to trust Democrats?

Consider, for example, the president’s promise that the $787 billion stimulus would create between 3 to 4 million new jobs. Didn’t happen. In fact, with unemployment at 9.2% and even government employment declining, the past thirty months have shown that Obama clearly overpromised and has under-delivered.

Speaker Pelosi promised that Obamacare would create an additional 4 million jobs. Didn’t happen. Furthermore, Democrats promised that under Obamacare, there would be no additional cost to the American taxpayer and they promised that insurance costs would not increase. Instead, Americans find that Obamacare will cost, at a minimum, $400 billion more than Democrats in congress claimed. Insurance companies have increased their rates by almost 25%. Furthermore, the promise that “everyone could keep the insurance they currently have” has all been forgotten. Much to their credit, Republicans argue that the promises of Obama, Reid, Durbin and Pelosi were hollow and would be broken. But, Democrats cling to their myths and distortions like a drowning man to a piece of wood.

When caught telling a whopper, the current crop of Democrat leaders show not a hint of remorse or shame. Democrat leaders see no problem promising Americans that they can expand benefits and coverage to all without ever raising taxes. Democrats figure that once the bill passes, and the inevitable constitutional challenges appear, they can quickly shift gears and rebrand the individual mandate as a tax, no doubt depending upon the fact that few Americans will remember, much less hold them accountable for their earlier promises.

Whether it is Obama, chastising Supreme Court justices at the 2010 State of the Union Address or chastising Republicans for inflammatory comments and demanding an end to patently partisan language and behavior, Obama has proved that he is part of the problem when he could not resist demagoguing Paul Ryan for his courage in putting forth a deficit management-budget cutting plan.

Democrat leadership has espoused a do-as-I-say-not-as-I-do approach to government, resorting to calumny and demagoguery as their tools. Is it any wonder that, in congress, comity and civility are dead?

Then there’s the special case of Tim Geithner, the boy who cried wolf, and his sky-is-falling approach to fear-mongering. Americans were told that May 16 was the deadline to resolve the debt ceiling issue. But, it seems it really wasn’t. Then Americans were told that August 2nd was the deadline to resolve the debt ceiling issue. But, it seems it really wasn’t. Geithner, mouthing some mumbo-jumbo about Asian markets opening, claimed the deadline was really 4pm on July 24th—but, it seems it really wasn’t. Again. And now, it seems as if the debt ceiling window can be extended until August 10th. Sure. Why not?

For an Administration that claims it will have “unprecedented” transparency, Republicans in congress are finding it difficult to get anything in writing on the President’s approach to managing the debt ceiling and cutting the federal budget. Democrats in the Senate claim they are eager to get resolution on the debt ceiling, but Reid won’t even call for cloture on his own proposal, or put it to a vote.

Anyone who isn’t clear on why Republicans in congress are skeptical of Democrat promises has only to look at the Democrat track record. In the past, when children caught a schoolmate in a lie, they used to cry out “liar, liar, pants on fire”. Republicans, acting cautiously when confronted with Democrat lies, are simply too civil to admit the Democrats in congress and the White House have POFUS. Pants On Fire Syndrome.

Republicans don’t trust Democrat promises—not because there are so many new Republican members of congress and not because they are still strangers to one another, but because, sadly, they know and understand each other too well. Familiarity may not always breed contempt, but in the case of the Democrat leadership and the years of broken promises, familiarity might be a good explanation. (Laura Doan)

And if there is one thing Democrats do better than anyone else on the planet, it’s Contempt.

To Be Fair

After emerging from a lunch meeting on Thursday with members of her party and Jack Lew, the White House budget director, Ms Mikulski said her colleagues were feeling “volcanic” about the prospect of a $3,000bn (aka 3 Trillion) deal to cut deficits and raise the debt ceiling that did not include any higher taxes, adding that it was “like Mount Vesuvius” in the room.

Harry Reid, the US Senate majority leader, added: “This can’t be all cuts, there has to be a balance.”  We have to screw someone!

Facing a possible revolt from within Democratic ranks, White House officials immediately dismissed the notion that the president would strike any agreement with Republicans to implement significant spending cuts – including reform of treasured government programmes such as Medicare and Social Security – without garnering any new revenue in return  (aka TAX INCREASES). They also invited Democratic leaders back to the White House for a second straight day of talks in an effort to shore up their support in the negotiations.

Democrats are still expected to back whatever deal President Barack Obama strikes with congressional Republicans, but Thursday’s discontent highlighted the delicate balancing act facing White House officials as they go back-and-forth between the parties in search of a compromise.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, “compromise” to a Liberal means do exactly as I say, and only what I say,  and shut and sit down you idiot!

Mind you, on Dec 6th, 2010 Obama said raising Taxes in a recession was a bad idea. But that was a politically calculated move of the moment. Now 7 months later he has to forget he ever said and the media will be glad to oblige. Also, he ardent supporters will have forgotten it also. And if you remind the they will blow it off because they are of the moment only. What do we want now is all that matters.

Dec 6,2010 Whitehouse.gov: Make no mistake:  Allowing taxes to go up on all Americans would have raised taxes by $3,000 for a typical American family. And that could cost our economy well over a million jobs.

But now IF WE DON’T RAISE TAXES Armageddon is upon us!!! Run For the Hills!!!

Obama Now, in this moment (trying to appear to be a centrist instead of the left wing ideologue because he’s running for re-coronation):

“Regardless of what you feel about the particular policies — some of you may have supported the wars or opposed the wars; some of you may have agreed with the Recovery Act; some of you may be opposed — regardless of your views on these various actions that were taken, the fact is they all cost money,” he said. “And the result is that there’s simply too much debt on America’s credit card.”

He added, “Neither party (Just the Republicans!) is blameless for the decisions that led to this problem, but both parties have a responsibility to solve it.”

But when the Republican propose, the Democrats dispose. So again, it comes down to kiss the Democrats ass or else. Now that’s a compromise!! 😦

“The one thing we can’t do — cannot do — is decide that we are not going to pay the bills the previous congresses have already racked up,”

But we can threatened and scare seniors with false claims of not paying their bills to stoke up the class warfare and fearmongering.

If you take in $200 billion a month and Social Security cost $50 billion the only reason you’d wouldn’t pay that first is if your try to extort and exploit people.

“We can’t just close our deficit with spending cuts alone, because if we take that route it means that seniors would have to pay a lot more for Medicare, or students would have to pay a lot more for student loans,” he said.

And what will cuts in these programs that have to be made to make any kind of deficit reduction even possible do to them?

Or if you do nothing and they crash and burn on their own in less than 10 years?!

You guessed it!

But don’t tell the President, he’s running for re-coronation so he doesn’t want to say it, even if it is the truth.

He’s trying to look “fair”. 😦

And we have the tried and true Democrat strategy of “Vote for me the other guy’s an asshole!”. The fact that I might be an even bigger asshole doesn’t enter into equation.

“If we only did it with cuts, if we did not get any revenue (TAX INCREASES!!) to help close this gap between how much money is coming in and how much money is going out  (yeah just not spending too much isn’t enough meat for your base is it), then a lot of ordinary people would be hurt and the country as a whole would be hurt. And that doesn’t make any sense. It’s not fair.”  (Oh there’s that word “fair”!!! ooh it makes me all tingly!)

And you morons keep spending more than you take in we ALL get hurt. But that’s not important right now… So says the Guy who was going to be the Great Uniter of the country and govern for all the people, not just Democrats. 😦

“fairness” and “compromise”. Bend over here comes the greatest enema of all time!

Adhering to the standard Democratic talking points, Time managing editor Rick Stengel told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer during the 6 p.m. EDT hour of The Situation Room that if tax rates go up in 2013, it’s “not a tax hike,” demanding that “this is something that Republicans have to get used to.”

On the CNN poll, one thing no one at CNN is mentioning, is that question #23: Do you want Cut, Cap and Balance? Sixty-six percent of the American people want it. Question #25: Do you want a balanced budget amendment? Seventy-four percent! This is CNN’s own poll and they’re not reporting it tonight. (MRC)

So bend over here it comes!!!!

Political Cartoons by Steve Kelley

Dark Days

Forty-two years ago yesterday, Apollo 11’s Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin ascended from the surface of the moon and rendezvoused with Michael Collins in the command module Columbia for their trip home from mankind’s maiden voyage to the moon. All three men are now in their 80s, and no human being has been on the moon since each of them was 42 — and now even the space shuttle has had its last liftoff.

Americans, however, do not seem to be content with this state of demise. A new CNN poll reminded Americans that, for the foreseeable future, “all manned U.S. space flights will take place in spacecraft that are owned by other countries” and then asked whether “the end of the space shuttle program” would be “good” or “bad” for the U.S.” By a margin of almost 3 to 1 (50 to 16 percent), Americans answered that it would be “bad.”

Moreover, by a margin of slightly more than 3 to 1 (75 to 23 percent), Americans think that we “should,” rather than “should not,” “develop a replacement spacecraft that will be capable of sending U.S. astronauts into space and returning them to Earth.” And by a margin of 28 points (64 to 36 percent), Americans think that it’s at least “fairly important” for us “to be ahead of Russia and other countries in space exploration.”

It’s interesting that President Obama effectively nixed the Constellation program — the program to take us back to the moon and eventually on to Mars — which would have cost about $10 billion a year, because we allegedly couldn’t afford it.  But he has felt no apparent hesitation in pushing a $787 billion “stimulus” that (even according to his own economists’ estimate) has stimulated job-growth at a rate of $278,000 per job, a health care overhaul that would cost more than $2 trillion in its real first decade (2014 to 2023), and now a $2.4 trillion debt ceiling extension — which is roughly the same amount of money, even in inflation-adjusted dollars, that we borrowed to fight World War II.

Put otherwise, Constellation would have cost about 4/10ths of 1 percent as much annually as a debt ceiling extension that’s designed to get Obama through his reelection bid next year — or $1 for every $240. Perhaps the eventual Republican nominee will see fit to set our national horizons a little higher — and restart this program that Obama has left for dead.  (Jeffrey Anderson)

Oh, and don’t forget if you don’t raise $1 Trillion Dollars in taxes we won’t have enough to pay for Social Security and Medicare (even if we take in enough every month to pay it!)

But that’s not a scare tactic, remember that. 🙂

July 21 (Bloomberg) — Democrats reacted angrily to reports that the White House is cutting a deal with House Republicans to boost the U.S. debt ceiling and reduce deficits by about $3 trillion over 10 years without immediate revenue increases.

President Barack Obama’s team has told congressional leaders it is pursuing such a deal, according to two officials familiar with the talks, as the White House and House Speaker John Boehner of Ohio denied one was at hand.

The officials, who described outlines of the plan on condition of anonymity, said the leaders were told it would cut spending while calling for a future tax overhaul that could raise $1 trillion in additional revenue.

“The president always talked about balance, that there had to be some fairness in this, that this can’t be all cuts,” Reid told reporters at the Capitol. “There has to be a balance, there has to be some revenue with the cuts. My caucus agrees with that. I hope the president sticks with that. I’m confident he will.”

“revenue” = $$ Tax Increases by the way. (Orwellian translation).

The Democrats are even cowardly about what they really want, to Tax & Spend!!

In Congress, both Republicans and Democrats,  remind me of Wimpy, a character in the old Popeye the Sailor Man cartoons. Wimpy liked hamburgers and he frequently said,

I’ll gladly pay you on Tuesday for a hamburger today.

However, with Wimpy, the payment on Tuesday never comes.  With Congress, spending cuts never come.

So don’t hold your breath…

But at we have the Chinese & the Russians to fall back on for Manned Space Flight!! 🙂

Wait and See Jobs

The American people didn’t send us here to wage symbolic battles or win symbolic victories.  They would much rather have the comfort of knowing that when they open their first paycheck on January of 2011, it won’t be smaller than it was before, all because Washington decided they preferred to have a fight and failed to act.

Make no mistake:  Allowing taxes to go up on all Americans would have raised taxes by $3,000 for a typical American family. And that could cost our economy well over a million jobs.–Obama Dec 6, 2010 from Whitehouse.gov.

So what’s changed in 7 months?

Why is creating jobs so hard for business these days?

Think of it this way. When an employer hires a full-time worker, the employer thinks of the relationship as long term. During an initial training and learning period, the employer probably pays out more in wages and benefits than the company gets back in production. But over a longer period, the hope is to turn that around and make a profit.

When employers hire new employees, then, they are making a gamble. They are betting that over time, the economics of the relationship will pan out.

The problem in the current economy is that hiring new workers and committing to new production has become extremely risky. As the JCA folks explain, an employer who hires workers today has no idea what the company’s future labor costs will be. Or its building and facility costs. Or its cost of capital. Or its taxes.

What’s causing all this uncertainty? You guessed it. Nobody knows what is going to happen in Washington, D.C.

Take the cost of labor. The Affordable Care Act (what some people call ObamaCare) is designed to force employers to provide full-time employees with comprehensive health insurance in less than three years. While the goal may be admirable, the consequences are not. Although no one knows how much this extra burden will cost, estimates are that the required family coverage will reach $15,000 a year or more — the equivalent of an additional $6 an hour minimum wage.

Employers could decide to drop their health insurance altogether; and if they do so they must pay a fine of $2,000 per employee per year. Yet if a lot of employers do this (and apparently a lot of them are thinking about it), don’t you think the federal government will respond by making the fine a lot higher?

Then there is the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). After the aircraft maker Boeing spent $1 billion building a new plant and hiring 1,000 workers in South Carolina, the agency brought a halt to the whole thing, calling it an unfair labor practice. Boeing’s sin? South Carolina is a right-to-work state. The company should have built the plant in Seattle, where it would be required to use union labor.

There is more bad news. The NLRB is considering rule changes that would make it much easier to unionize workers. Would you like to see employers across the country facing the same kind of turmoil state governments are now facing in dealing with public sector unions? Most employers don’t relish that idea either.

Under the Obama presidency, the NLRB has made a radical change of direction. Some would say it is much more pro-labor, but this is a misnomer. What the agency is dedicated to is not labor, but making labor more costly.

As for capital investments such as new buildings and new equipment, here again there is considerable regulatory uncertainty. It should come as no surprise that the Obama administration is overly friendly to environmental groups who see carbon dioxide emissions as pollution. Yet every act of production emits carbon dioxide. You even emit it when you exhale.

As for the cost of financial capital, what is going to happen is anybody’s guess. When the Bush tax cuts finally do expire, the tax on capital gains will increase by a third and the tax on dividends will more than double. The administration has made no secret that it would like to accelerate these tax increases and make them even higher.

Bottom line: even if there were no Republican opposition in Washington, we would be in trouble. The Obama administration is profoundly anti-labor. It thinks it is pro-labor, of course. But that is because it is so naïve about economics that it doesn’t understand that when you make hiring more costly there will be less hiring.

But there are Republicans in Washington, and (ironically) their presence in some ways adds to uncertainty. While the two parties are battling, who knows what the outcome will be? No one can.

So the best strategy from a business perspective is to sit on cash, delay the employment of labor and capital and wait to see what happens next. (John C. Goodman)

After all, if you’re deemed “rich” or a “fat cat” that is also a politically incorrect one then you’re just waiting for the hammer to fall.

Is the risk worth the reward?

Basic human nature says no.

And with Class Warfare in full bloom and anti-business Democrats on the warpath for Obama’s Re-Coronation why bother.

The Dream

You have a dream to build Widgets.
You don’t have the money. But you start small. Just you.
Long, Long hours. Not making any money.
Owing people lots of money.
But you believe.
You work hard.
People start buying your Widgets.
More and more every year.
You get to the point where you need to hire someone else.
You continue selling. Working many long hours.
Your life is your business. it’s all about your Widgets.
But people Like your Widgets.
People buy more of your widgets.
You need more production space so you expand.
People buy more of your widgets so you hire more people and not just to make your widgets.

You need a receptionist, an accountant, suppliers, and more.
You get big enough to start selling your Widgets outside of your immediate neighborhood.
So you expand. You hire more people.
You even open a 2nd location, then a 3rd and more.
You are successful. It feels good. But it’s very hard work.
You now have hundreds, maybe even thousands of people depending on you and your widgets.
You have retail space that costs money.
You have taxes. You have regulations.
But you’re doing fine.
You continue to grow. You hire more people to help with making and selling even more Widgets.
You and the people you employ are successful.
People really like your Widgets. But now yo’re big enough that the other Widget makers notice you so you have to step up your game to survive — Competition.
But there is enough of a market for your widgets, you work hard, you carve out your place.
You hire more people.

Then the economy goes down. People aren’t buying your widgets as much as they used to. Not because of a bad product, just because they fear for their own survival.
So your buisness starts going down. You have to cut where you can to keep the jobs you have.
You can’t just keep on spending more and taking in less.
To keep the dream you have you have to prune the tree to keep it from dying.

But then the Democrats come along and call you an “evil” “rich” person who exploits people and make money to be greedy.
They demonize you as a greedy “fat cat”.
They want to take even more of your money so that they can give it to their people. But they aren’t “greedy” like you. They just more and more of your money.
They pass regulations that hurt your business.
They are endangering your people. Their jobs.
They don’t care because to them it’s all about “fairness” and their people.
If you don’t cut something you won’t be able to make it.
You have to turn a profit in order to re-invest money into the business. To feed your family.
The socialist Democrats call that being greedy. Too much profit (defined by their own nebulous and ever changing whims on  the winds of fickleness) is evil.
The economy is down.
People aren’t buying your widgets like they used just because they have other things they have to buy first or bill they have to pay first.
You have bills to pay also.
The Democrats continue to demonize you.
The economy continues to go down.
Now regulations and the costs to comply with them are going up.
You can either continue losing money or cut somewhere, possibly jobs.
If you cut jobs and shrink the money tree so that the roots survive you’ll be demonized for that too. If you continue losing money eventually the tree itself will die.
Tough choices.
The people are buying less.
You’re selling less.
But you are demonized for not hiring more people.
But if you hire more people, you will lose even more money because the Government have not only piled more regulations that cost money on you, they have “reformed” the Health Care plan you have been paying FOR your employee generously out of the profits of the business even when it’s slow, and now the costs are even higher.
But they don’t care. You’re just a one-dimensional villian.
And if you hire more people and start to get more successful the Democrats will demonize you  as a greedy “rich” person anyhow and want to take even more of your money.
So if spend more money to hire people the Democrats want to tax and take more.
If you don’t hire more people you’re just a greedy rich person.
People are not buying your widgets like they used to because they can’t afford them like they used to.
But don’t worry, it’s all your fault!!
You had a dream. A dream of making a Widget others would appreciate.
That grew into a business others could thrive from.
Now, all you have is your damned if you do and damned if you don’t.
You continue to struggle to keep the dream alive.
The Democrats just call you greedy and demonize you for being successful at it so you must do it against their constant barage of criticism, taxes, and regulations.
You have other people depending on you.
But you’re just a greedy capitalist.
You aren’t supposed to care.
You’re just supposed to be a miserly scrooge who just wants the buck and nothing else.
The people who are depending on you for their jobs, their bills, their dreams you’re not supposed to care about them because you’re just a heartless capitalist Widget maker.

But you’re supposed to hire more people so the socialists can tax you more and call you a greedy capitalist and take even more tax money. The money that you can’t use to make your business  better and make your employees lives better,or even hire more,so they can give it to their slacker constituents who have been told they are entitled to your money because you “have enough” and it’s “fair”.
And besides they vote for the Democrats to give them more of your money.

And if you protest. Well, they have their apparatchik media as weapon against you.
After all, you’re just a greedy, capitalist Widget Maker.
They are Social Justice.
So what if making things worse is suppose to make them better.

So you guard your resources so that the tree of life that is your dream doesn’t die.
Now, they say you’re “hoarding” your money.
That’s evil.

So if you hire more people you can’t afford they will tax you more so you lose more money.
If you don’t hire more people and protect what you have, you’re a greedy capitalist hoarder.

Maybe it’s time to just chuck the whole dream in the bin!
And forget about all the people who depend on you.
Not just your employees.
Your sales team in the field. The advertisers. The accountants.Your parts suppliers.
The mall owners who rent you space. The warehouse space you pay for.
the Drivers for your trucks.
The shop owners of your locations.
The city & state who tax you.
The Electric company who supplies you power.
The people they employee.
The dreams they have.
The stuggles they have.

Just chuck it all.
Is your Dream worth all this hassle??

If it is, the Democrats will hate you more and want even more of your money to feed the  people who’s only dream is to take your money “for free” and to continue to take more.
They are the drug addicts and prostitutes on the corner that make your neighborhood seedy.

But they are categorically not greedy!

Oh, and you’re a greedy capitalist pig either way.
If you’re successful they want more.
If you’re struggling, they want more.
If you’re failing, they don’t care. They want more.
And if you fail, well you were just too greedy.

But if you fail, it’s not just you. It’s all the other people who lose also.
So is failure a better option than success, hoping that someday success will be rewarded rather than punished??
So is taking your Widgets and going away until the Winter of Liberal discontent is over?
Good Question.
Because, for them it will never be over.
But for you, you have to survive.
For others to thrive you have to survive.
Even if that makes you a greedy capitalist hoarder pig.

Because after all is said and done, The flame of the Dream must not die.
The American Dream.
Take an idea. Make money.
Give People what they want and you can make more dreams come true and enable other people to pursue their own dreams.
Become a Success.
From Nothing to Something.
from Ramen to Success.
Whatever that success is to you.

But if you do, the Liberals will be right their with their drug addicts, pimps, and

prostitutes to take a piece of the action for themselves.

So is it worth it?
Hell yeah!!
But can you survive, that’s a question that has no answer.
We are only a brief candle in history to begin with.
Survival is a day to day struggle.
But a dream keeps hope alive.
But if you’re only dream is to take from others, then that dream is a nightmare.
And the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
So be careful.
Wishes are not always horses, sometimes they are horsemen.
But most of the time Wishes are Dreams and Dreams can come true. But not without lots of hard work, sacrifice, and challenge.
That’s what makes life worth living.
No matter how long or short it is.

But if a successful Widget maker can pass down his legacy to the next generation who can keep it going then you have a dream passed on, not just for the Widget Maker, but for the world and history and generations of people who benefit from that single dream.
And that’s worth fighting for.

And your time starts NOW!

p.s I have a dream. I may not be rich. I may not employee people. I may not make world-famous Widgets. But I have a dream.

So why do Liberals want to ruin it for their own greed?

I think you have your answer.

The Circle of Life continues.

It’s not relevant if Dictatorship and oppression is your goal…

If Liberals have to even ponder the question you know there’s trouble!

Independence Day provides all Americans with an opportunity to celebrate  the many freedoms that make our country both great and unique. Our Declaration of Independence  was breathtaking in scope and written in precise, plain, unequivocal  language. When read in townships across the Colonies, crowds listened in  hushed silence and then broke out in applause when the reading was complete. Our Founding Fathers felt no need to dilute or cloak their intentions to form a government.

As you celebrate the 4th, it might be appropriate to contrast the  straightforward language of our founders and other great American  leaders with the weasel words now emerging from Washington, and all too  frequently, from President Obama, who prefers euphemism-laden,  convoluted, pixilated flummery.

A quick review of Obama’s speeches  reveals his most common euphemisms seem to show a pattern of deception,  obfuscation and misdirection. In President Obama’s lexicon, words have  different meanings; to decipher the message and understand what the  President is saying requires a special Washington Dictionary. Here are  some samples from President Obamas special dictionary:

Investment is the president’s word for government spending.  When he says we need to invest more, he really means he wants to  increase spending on some special project. Obama knows that the word  investment is reassuring to most Americans and implies that at some  point in time a good investment will return a decent profit. But, no  return is envisioned with Obama’s “investments”. In fact, to Obama all  government spending is an investment.

Millionaires and Billionaires Obama often talks about the  need to increase taxes on the millionaires and billionaires. Of course,  what he really means is higher taxes on any family making more than  $250,000. Obamas math skills must be sufficient to understand that  there is a huge mathematical difference between 250,000 and a billion,  but he chooses to ignore the difference to better stoke class  resentment, all while hoping that average Americans are too stupid to  understand.

Working People is invoked to demonstrate commitment to average  Americans. Of course, what Obama really means is that he supports the  primacy of unions over other American workers.  According to Obamas  definition, the vast majority of Americans, including small business  owners, are not working people at all, regardless of how many thousands  of hours they work. In Obamas dictionary, only union members are  working people and deserving of special preferences and consideration.

Spending Reductions in the Tax Code  means more tax increases. President Obama likes to wear the mantle of  spending cuts, but lacks the courage to call a tax increase what it  really is.

Paying Their Fair Share is the president’s phrase for wealth  redistribution. What Obama really means is that entrepreneurs and other  successful business owners are not paying high enough taxes, and that  all of the money they earn should be “contributed” to the government for  wealth redistribution to those that Obama considers worthy. Of course,  Obamas supporters, the bulk of whom do not seem to pay income tax, are,  according to this definition, already paying a fair amount of tax  (zero). It is the rest of America that is not paying their fair share.  Obama offers no criteria to what is fair or not, so that is why he  seems to think it is perfectly acceptable to require 20% of American to  pay 78% of the taxes and then criticize them for not paying their “fair  share”.

Green Jobs and Green Economy these are the jobs that President  Obama believes are more important and more valuable than any others,  even if creating a “green job” that pays $40,000 actually costs the  taxpayers $300,000 to create. Moreover, if creating one magical “green  job” results in the loss of 10 or more jobs that were dependent upon  cheap, reliable power, that too is of no consequence. A green job has  magical properties that do not conform to economic principles.

Unprecedented. Perhaps Obama’s favorite word, which he uses to  describe most of his actions. This word has no meaning to Obama, but  reflects his belief that he is so special that everything he does or  says must be admired. Obama is so, fundamentally, unaware of American  history that he thinks that the challenges and issues that he faces are  unique. (Move over George Washington!)

Unfortunately, our President seems unaware that the dangers of repeated,  euphemistic bastardization of the English language erodes his  credibility. Increasingly, Americans know they cannot trust what Obama  says.

And so, President Obama is likely to tell Americans:

“In response to an unprecedented challenge we must provide more aid to working people by increasing investments in green jobs. We will implement savings in the tax code that will only impact millionaires and billionaires who are not currently paying their fair share“.

And yet what Obama really means is:

My policies have failed. The stimulus was a disaster, and the country is  broke. We need more money to keep the Unions, and my special  constituents who pay very little or no taxes, happy, so I need everyone  else to pay more, otherwise I won’t get re-elected.

Americans have a reputation for being straightforward and for plain  speaking and are only slowly becoming aware of the vague, expansive, and  misleading words in President Obama’s unique dictionary.  Our Founding  Fathers said: “we hold these truths to be self-evident”.  With Obama,  none of his words are self-evident.(Lurita Doan)

Except the deceit and dishonesty and complete disingenuousness that is not only self-evident, it’s self-serving.
