Mississippi Burning America

Apparently, some Liberals are unrepentant. Apparently, all the Spike Lee mess just wasn’t enough.

The comedian Roseanne Barr last night tweeted the home address of George Zimmerman’s parents to her 110,000-plus Twitter followers, only to delete the posting after “not fully understanding that it was private not public.”

Barr, who deleted her tweet in the face of criticism from some Twitter followers, noted that she first thought it “was good to let ppl know that no one can hide anymore.”  That stance quickly changed, with Barr reporting, “But vigilante-ism is what killed Trayvon. I don’t support that.”

I would laugh, but it’s not funny that some Liberals are this casual about such things as privacy, race hussling and “moral outrage” vigilantism.

“If Zimmerman isn’t arrested I’ll rt his address again.” She added, “maybe go 2 his house myself.”

Cross a Liberal and they tweet you to death!! 🙂 Be Afraid, Be Very Afraid…of them!

So with that…

UK Telegraph: Parents of murdered British students criticise Barack Obama

The parents of two British students murdered in Florida have criticised President Barack Obama for his lack of compassion over their sons’ deaths.

His failure to respond to three letters sent to the White House was because there was no “political value” and not worthy of a few minutes of his time.

They spoke out as teenager Shawn Tyson (he was black) began a life sentence after being found guilty of the murder of James Cooper and James Kouzaris last April.

The 17 year old, who shot the men as they begged for their lives, will die in prison.

His conviction of first degree murder carries an mandatory life sentence without the chance of parole.

The powerfully built teen even looked bored as emotional DVD presentations about the dead men prepared by their grieving parents were shown in court.

Tyson, who has the word ‘Savage’ tattooed across his chest didn’t show a flicker of emotion, slumping in his seat as he was forced to watch a montage of photos showing the victims from early childhood to young men.

Two close friends of the dead men who had attended the eight day trial in Sarasota, Florida. had also delivered highly emotional impact statements to the court prior to the sentencing.

Paul Davies and Joe Hallett spoke of the “living hell” they and others who knew the men had suffered since the murders.

During the eight day trial they had been shown graphic crime scene and autopsy photos shown in court.

Later speaking after Tyson was jailed Davies and Hallett lashed out at Mr Obama saying the deaths of their friends was “not worthy of ten minutes of his time.”

Davies said:”We would like to publicly express our dissatisfaction at the lack of any public or private message of support or condolence from any American governing body or indeed, President Obama himself.

“Mr Kouzaris has written to President Obama on three separate occasions and is yet to even receive the courtesy of a reply.

“It would perhaps appear that Mr Obama sees no political value in facilitating such a request or that the lives of two British tourists are not worthy of ten minutes of his time.”

The rebuke follows Mr Obama’s personal intervention into the shooting in Florida of a young black teenager by a white-Hispanic neighbourhood watch captain.

The death of 17 year old Trayvon Martin has sparked nationwide protests with his supporters claiming he was victim of a racist attack.

Mr Obama entered the controversy last week by saying if he had a son he would have looked like Martin.

The alleged assailant in Martin’s death has not been charged with any crime having claimed he was attacked first and used Florida’s ‘stand your ground’ law to shoot in self defence.

The criticism of the US President was made on behalf of the Cooper’s parents Stanley and Sandy, from Warwicks, and Peter and Hazel Kouzaris, from Northampton by Davies in a statement read outside the courtroom.

The parents of the two victims did not attend the trial but they had access to the proceedings from a live video feed.

The filmed interview of the Kouzaris’s was played to the court while a message from Sandy Cooper was read out by the prosecutor.

The victims close friends delivered an emotional impact statement with Hallett telling Tyson he hoped he would be haunted by his actions.

He told him: “Imagine them being killed. Now try to imagine that they died because someone creept up on them and shot them numerous times for no good reason. Welcome to our world. Every night you go to sleep, every morning you wake up, I want you to think of my friends who you murdered. Their images will be imprinted on your conscience up until your very last breath in life.”

Remember, when you have no standards (as Liberals don’t) you don’t have to worry about hypocrisy or even common decency because it’s all about the short term political gain, not the truth.

And you can’t be held to account for something you have no morals or ethics about in the first place.

Trayvon Martin, whether victim or Perp doesn’t matter. The race hussling and racial division does.

People are just useful tools. That’s all they are.

The Post-Partisan, Post-Racial “uniter” President everyone! 🙂

Yeah right…

A “white” man was “stalking” a little black kid — who could be Obama’s son! — confronted him, beat him senseless as the small black child screamed for help, and finally shot the kid dead, “just because he was black.” (Ann Coulter)

Oh, and then there’s this: AFL-CIO Executive Vice President Arlene Holt Baker told The Daily Caller that it is “conservative, right-wing policies that are to blame” for Trayvon Martin‘s death.

OF COURSE IT HAS TO BE THE RIGHT WING/CONSERVATIVE’S FAULT!!!
Everything in the Universe is, according to Liberals. so it was only a matter of time.
“The same folks who want to kill workers’ rights in the work place are the same folks who want to kill voters’ votes (Black Panther Case excluded :)) … and now they are literally supporting legislation that is literally killing our children.”
“When you look at whose behind it, you find that the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), a very conservative think tank comprised of corporations and very conservative representatives at the state level are behind this.”
George Zimmerman, the “white” Hispanic was a Manchurian robot pawn for ALEC!!! Wow! what a revelation!!! Who Knew!
This is big News!
Call Rachael Maddow! 🙂

Rules to Live By

Saul Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals”:

Rule 4: Make opponents live up to their own book of rules. “You can kill them with this, for they can no more obey their own rules than the Christian church can live up to Christianity.”

But if you have no standards, like Liberals, then you have no rules, morals or ethics to uphold. You are not bound by any conventions. You cannot be held responsible for your actions in your mind. You cannot be a hypocrite if you have no standards to compare to.

So you can call women c*nts, bitches, sluts, whores, prostitutes, bimbos, et al and no one on “your side” will give a crap.

So what if Bill Maher (who has said all of these) gives Obama a Million Dollars for his re-election campaign that’s ok.

One Radio Talk Show you despise slips and uses just 1 of those words just in the context of contraception and suddenly all women are under attack and when people call you on it, you blow them off.

What matters is ideology. Not standards. Morals. Or Ethics. Ideology is king.

And you being “right” 100% of the time, every time because you’re so superior to the heathens is all important.

A perfect example of no standards to live up to is David Axelrod, a very smart guy. After all, he got a radical leftist nutjob elected president on “hope and change” and “yes we can” BS. So he’s not a dumb guy.

But when asked about the whole Rush Limbaugh/Bill Maher comparison he becomes nearly incoherent and babbles like a nervous first time public speaker in front of a crowd because he has no choice but to defend the completely indefensible hypocritical stance and make it sound like it’s no big deal.

<Axelrod> described that as different than Rush Limbaugh calling law student Sandra Fluke a “slut.”

Axelrod made the comments in an interview on “Erin Burnett OutFront” on CNN, saying, “There’s been a coarsening of our political culture. I don’t think that language is appropriate, no matter who uses it. And I think — whoever you are — in politics, you ought to be willing to say so. I was disappointed that Gov. Romney didn’t stand up more forcefully when Rush Limbaugh said what he said.”

He added, “But understand that these words that Maher has used in his stand-up act are a little bit different than — not excusable in any way — but different than a guy with 23 million radio listeners using his broadcast platform to malign a young woman for speaking her mind in the most — in the most inappropriate grotesque ways. And and nor does Bill Maher play the role in the … Democratic Party that Rush Limbaugh plays in the Republican Party, where he’s really the de facto boss of the party. Everybody responds to him. Which is the reason why I think Gov. Romney was afraid to take him on. “

“I do not excuse those kinds of characterizations of women,” he went on. “I don’t think those kind of gratuitous nasty words about anyone is appropriate in the public sphere. I — I’m not excusing anyone.  (I will anyways)  But I think what what Limbaugh did was — was particularly egregious. And it wasn’t just once. It was … he built on it and built on it to the point where — he built into a sort of perverse soliloquy at the end about, you know, whether she post[s] her — her relationships online.”

The pro-President Obama super PAC Priorities USA Action has gotten $1 million from Maher, which Republicans have seized on as a double-standard, given his language in the past. Democrats, as Axelrod did, insist there is no parity between someone who plays little role beyond the liberal wing of his party as a talk show host, and Limbaugh, who has much greater sway. (Politico)

Romney didn’t denounce Rush, so I don’t have denounce Bill Maher. (see Rule #4).

You can say or do anything you want because you want and don’t have to live up to anything other than what you want at that moment.

Your Opponent is hamstrung by having morals or ethics or a code of conduct, you aren’t.

Rev. Al Sharpton: “[Republicans] have really made Rush Limbaugh such a great part of the conservative movement … you can’t have him as a major spokesman in your movement and then he says something as offensive and misogynist as this and you act like he’s just an entertainer.”

But Bill Maher is “an entertainer” when he says far, far worse things (and even Al has said far worse).

Rev. Al Sharpton that the GOP has “two RCs — Roman Catholics — running and a Mormon, so three cultists running.”

Then you make it appear that you do care by playing games with words, situations, and creating distractions like the “War on Women” and “the economy created 200,000 jobs this month” and just conveniently leave out that 1,000,000 people gave up (and when unemployment goes down because of it you take credit for it, when it doesn’t you ignore it or blame it on corporate america anyhow).

“Not since the days of Franklin Roosevelt had so much fallen on the shoulders of one president. Now when he faced his country who looked to him for answers, he would not dwell in blame or dream in idealism,” narrator Tom Hanks said in the Obama biopic “The Road We’ve Traveled.”

Ah, he’s so great, why are you picking on him! He’s so Great! Wahhhh! 🙂

He’s not to blame. He’s not responsible.

Because they have no standards to begin with. Thus they are always perfect. And they can never be wrong.

Then once you have that going,  you prevent people from thinking things in opposition to you in the first place, so that if they can’t think of opposition they can’t oppose them. Pure Orwell. That’s the beauty of Political Correctness.

You can’t for Border Security without being a “racist”, for example.

A Conservative calling someone a “slut” is a “War on Women”. A Liberals calling a Conservative woman that and ever other offensive word in the English Language “is not the same thing” so it’s just mindless partisanship on your part to object to my blatant hypocrisy and should be ignored and excused.

Trying to make your opponent live up to their standards doesn’t mean you have any of your own.

Another example, Democrats ALWAYS want to spend even more on Education (so the Unions can feed them more money) so if you object, obviously you’re against Educating our Children– not Unions.

So you limit speech. You limit Thought. You have no standard to live up to.

Life is good, if you’re a Liberal, in your mind. You’re Perfect.

MSNBC’s Melissa Harris Perry on Al Sharpton’s radio show: And I’ll say this, I was in Trinity United Church of Christ on the Sunday after September 11th. I was at the time living in Chicago, I attended church the Sunday after September 11, 2001 and I will never forget that Rev. Wright on that day preached a sermon that was an anti-war sermon before anyone was even fully talking about war. Rev. Wright understood that what the American state normally does is to respond to this kind of attack with war and that that war was going to be against poor countries and countries with people of color and it was probably going to be a war that did very little to keep us particularly safe relative to terrorism. And in all of those ways Rev. Wright was exactly right. (RCP)

Our President was also their that day, but he wasn’t  listening! 🙂 (Rev. Wright married Obama and his wife Michelle, baptized their two daughters and is credited by Obama for the title of his book, “The Audacity of Hope.”)

In addition to damning America, he told his congregation on the Sunday after Sept. 11, 2001 that the United States had brought on al Qaeda’s attacks because of its own terrorism.

“We bombed Hiroshima, we bombed Nagasaki, and we nuked far more than the thousands in New York and the Pentagon, and we never batted an eye,” Rev. Wright said in a sermon on Sept. 16, 2001.

“We have supported state terrorism against the Palestinians and black South Africans, and now we are indignant because the stuff we have done overseas is now brought right back to our own front yards. America’s chickens are coming home to roost,” he told his congregation.

Rev. Wright: “God Damn America!”

But since he’s Liberal, and they have no standards all of this was quickly forgotten by the Left and if you brought it up you were a “racist”. 🙂

Oh, and it’s nothing…Obama’s press spokesman Bill Burton said, “Sen. Obama has said repeatedly that personal attacks such as this have no place in this campaign or our politics, whether they’re offered from a platform at a rally or the pulpit of a church. Sen. Obama does not think of the pastor of his church in political terms. Like a member of his family, there are things he says with which Sen. Obama deeply disagrees. But now that he is retired, that doesn’t detract from Sen. Obama’s affection for Rev. Wright or his appreciation for the good works he has done.”

No big deal, move along. Mind you if a Conservative or Republican said even 1% of this crap they’d be hounded until the coming of the end of universe.

But that’s Saul Alinsky for ya.

So what does this lead to?

Of course, the greedy, self-absorbed hubris and need to control everyone and everything so this can continue destroys the society. But hey, who cares, you’re large and charge and can do anything you want, when you want, because you want to. No consequences.

And it’s ALWAYS someone else’s fault. Because after all, You’re Perfect!

Life is good. 🙂

“What has happened, that we are fighting again for reproductive rights?” wonders Rosie O’Donnell, filling-in for Piers Morgan. “And how did guys, get to be the ones to solely discuss it?” responds Angelica Huston. “It’s absolutely astonishing to me, it’s the Dark Ages.”

This misses the point of the actual argument about religious freedom (because Liberals hate religion more and more in large part- especially anything Christian) completely but makes hay out of straw man BS.

They aren’t going to see the real problem because they aren’t capable of it. They simply aren’t.

When they control the government, Government is God. And everyone should bow down to their God. It can fix anything or anyone.

When they are not in Control (or not in Control of a part of it) then Government is the Devil and since you don’t want to be ruled by the Devil now do you?

So you should vote God back in. 🙂

Government is God. So who needs religious freedom in that case.

Only “evil” “right wing” “extremist” Conservatives and “Fundamentalists”. 🙂

And we sure a heck don’t care about them at all. Except to demonize them and destroy them, make fun of them, and make them live up to their own standards.

And since we have none, we’re perfect! 🙂

Kumbuya! Praise The Lord! And pass the Campaign cash! 🙂

The Vast Left Wing Disparity

Just in case you had any hope for the Mainstream Media not being totally in the tank for the Leftists and Liberals in this country:

The New York Times and the Washington Post issued open calls on Thursday asking their readers to help them “investigate” emails from Sarah Palin’s tenure as governor of Alaska. There was no indication of what this investigation was supposed to uncover.

Dirt, any dirt. Even if they have to stretch it or fabricate it. They want dirt!!
They have to feed their Palin Derangement Syndrome.
The New York Times said: “We’re asking readers to help us identify interesting and newsworthy emails, people and events that we may want to highlight.”
Mind you, they got bored very quickly by Obama and his domestic terrorist connections and radical ideas on Socialism, Social Justice, Keynesian Economics, and Black Liberation Theology.
Imagine a newspaper in 2008 asking readers’ help in perusing Barack Obama’s emails as U.S. senator and Illinois state senator. Or for that matter, help in unearthing his college records. The howls from “mainstream” journalists and Democratic politicians would have been deafening.
You couldn’t discuss most anything about The One without being labeled a racist.
Now it’s 2011:
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi is bored and uninterested in Anthony Weiner, but was all over Mark Foley in 2006 like mud on a pig!
In the first 2 weeks of Mark Foley who resigned Immediately
ABC,CBS,NBC ran 55 stories.
With Weiner who still Refuses to Resign the first 2 weeks
were 10 stories.
The networks piled on 152 stories about Rep. Mark Foley in the story’s first 12 days in the fall of 2006, but they weren’t the only ones with a vast left-wing disparity. Time and Newsweek each devoted cover stories and multiple pages to the Foley scandal. Time put an elephant’s rear end on the cover with the words “What a Mess…Why a tawdry Washington sex scandal may spell the end of the Republican revolution”. Newsweek had a huge picture of Foley (with a small President Bush in front of his face) with the huge headline “Off Message” and the subhead “Foley’s Secret Life: How a Predator’s E-mail Sex Scandal Could Cost Bush Congress.”
Time also paid for a poll asking “Do you think Republican leaders in Congress handled the Foley situation properly or do you think they tried to cover it up?” It was 16 to 64 for a coverup. (NB)
Weiner:  Newsweek was too busy making fun of Mormons to even mention it. And Time, well hows 1 sentence & 13 words on page 83 for you!
Oh, and how about their obsession with bathroom stall “toe toucher” Larry Craig??.
When it’s a Liberal, Liberals don’t care and downplay it so much they don’t want you to care or better yet to even know.
They have no morals or standards for themselves because that allows them to do any damn thing they want, when they want, because they want.
They only get “outraged” over Non-Liberals for the political gain they perceive.
That’s it.
And the Liberal Media is no different.
Appearing on Tuesday’s NBC Today, advertising executive Donny Deutsch  (and MSNBC regular) and psychotherapist Robi Ludwig both agreed that the American people should not stop being “shocked” by political sex scandals. Deutsch declared: “…we have to stop being shocked and amazed….when men who are conquerors by nature also chase women….we as a society have got to become a little more anesthetized to this.”
As long as it’s a Liberal, that is.
Remember the “it was nothing” poo-poo of President Clinton having oral sex in the Oval office?
The Liberal media doesn’t.
They went after the people who leaked it. Just like they went after Andrew Breitbart this time.
The Liberal Media is totally biased and totally a propaganda arm of the Liberal Democrats.
Period.
There was an 8-to-1 story bias after Jared Loughner shot Congressman Giffords, about how Conservative Hate Speech had obviously pushed this guy over the edge.
It wasn’t true. But the liberal media didn’t care.
It was an opportunity to score some hate points.
Then they came out with their “civility” guidelines, which as it turned out were only meant to muzzle non-liberals not their hate speech and vile political bile.
And that’s why they are crowdsourcing the Palin Emails. They want dirt! Any dirt!
And if they don’t get it they’ll make it up!
It’s not like they care if they are lying.
It’s not as if you’re supposed to care that they are lying.
Why would that matter?
Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy:

“Oh yes, well as soon as I heard I went straight round to see them, yesterday afternoon. You hadn’t exactly gone out of your way to call attention to them, had you? I mean, like actually telling anybody or anything.”

“But the plans were on display …”

“On display? I eventually had to go down to the cellar to find them.”

“That’s the display department.”

“With a flashlight.”

“Ah, well the lights had probably gone.”

“So had the stairs.”

“But look, you found the notice didn’t you?”

“Yes,” said Arthur, “yes I did. It was on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying ‘Beware of the Leopard’.”

And Leopards in the Liberal Media are not going to change their spots. 🙂

Astroturf & Notes From The Left

Political Cartoons by Bob Gorrell

Doctors in white coats are standing outside the Wisconsin capitol in Madison, giving away fake doctor’s notes the way shirts are given out at basketball games. They’re a disgrace to our profession.

The news not only offends my professional pride and code of ethics, it also strikes me as a violation of their license to practice medicine.

The Wisconsin State Medical Examining Board of the Department of Regulation and Licensing should suspend these doctors for violating their Hippocratic Oath as well as their professional responsibility.

The 12.6 percent share of health-insurance costs that the new Wisconsin bill asks for from public employees is paltry by comparison to the 50 percent or more that many private employers now ask.

But if the doctors at the University of Wisconsin and the Medical College of Wisconsin who are writing these notes are so concerned about teachers and other employees being able to afford their health care, I’d suggest that these doctors (if they really are so altruistic) provide care to these public servants for free.

Are these disgraces to the profession unaware that the state of Wisconsin (as well as other states) is going bankrupt — even before ObamaCare forces huge new Medicaid costs on them?

The Wisconsin fake-note writers might also note that federal anti-trust law forbids physicians from engaging in collective bargaining or work stoppages. This law serves a purpose — it protects the American public from greed. The health of our patients would be threatened if we could go on strike, just as the education of the students of these protesting teachers is at stake here.

These doctors should value their medical degree more, before they lose the chance to use it to see actual patients.

Dr. Marc K. Siegel is a practicing internist in New York and a Fox News medical contributor. (NY Post)

Liberals don’t care. The law doesn’t apply to them.

But you know the Left is worried because now THEY HAVE A POLL to use as a Talking Point!!

It was conducted by the AFL-CIO, a Union. Guess what it said?

The Voters are with the protesters and hate Gov. Walker!!

I know, you’re shocked that a leftist poll done by a Union would side with the Union. It’s just so amazingly coincidental.

BTW:Average Salary In Wisconsin: $46,390
Salary raise last year: 4.7%
Salary raise over 10 years: 21.5%

The Daily Caller has broken out the salaries and benefits of teachers who have publicly entered the debate by commenting to the press.

Wisconsin’s 2010 Teacher of the Year, Leah Lechleiter-Luke of Mauston High School, told CNN the budget changes would force her to look for additional part-time work.

“When people say that public sector employees live high off the hog, I’d like to share that for 13 of my 19-year teaching career I have held a part-time job either in the summer or teaching night class at the local technical college,” Lechleiter-Luke told CNN. “In addition to tightening the belt even more and crossing our fingers that nothing breaks, I will need to find part-time work again.”

Lechleiter-Luke makes $54,928 in base salary and $32,213 in “fringe benefits,” which include health insurance, life insurance and retirement pay. (which she currently doesn’t pay for at all!)

Brad Lutes and his wife, Heather Lutes, told MSNBC’s Ed Schultz that Walker’s budget would hit them twice as hard.

“Having to explain to an 8- and 10-year old that the governor of your state basically wants to take money away from dad and mom? It’s just really, really frustrating,” Brad Lutes told Schultz.

He makes $49,412 in base salary with $27,987 in fringe benefits and his wife makes $50,240 with $9,413 in benefits. That’s $137,052 annually between the two of them.

ASTROTURF SALES SKYROCKET IN MADISON

The Community Agitater-In-Chief, Barack Obama, has sent his minions onto the battlefield to crush the State of Wisconsin’s government with his own apparatchiks and his narcissistic Union thugs.

All in the name of the children, and freedom of speech, of course. 🙂

So the teachers get fake doctor’s notes so they don’t have to show up and do their job and mobs of the Agitators minions shout down anyone who disagrees with them.

They have hateful, uncivil discourse and immature signs but don’t you dare call it hateful, uncivil, and immature because liberals are never hateful, uncivil or immature. 🙂  Just ask them.

And of course, they are geniuses and superior to everyone, especially YOU.

“The unions are the people who brought us a weekend. If we don’t do this now, our children will not have a weekend!” —One Protestor yelled out!

So the 88% of you who aren’t in a Union, you need bow down and kiss the ass of every Union member because they have brought you weekends!! Hallelujah!!

So why does anyone work on “the weekend” because the Unions brought it to you? Must be greedy capitalist pigs!

“We need to make sure that as loud as the voices are in the capital, we don’t let them overpower the voices of the tax payers I was elected to represent. We are willing to take this as long as it takes, because in the end, we are doing the right thing, and for us, we have to do this.”

There is so much wrong with how liberals go about attempting to exercise power. Teachers leave their work to hang out at the capitol to try to harangue the duly elected government? The schools they are supposed to be working in are closed down, the kids no longer having a place to go and their parents now responsible to stay home with them or find some other arrangement?

The Democrats that are supposed to be a functioning part of the government decided to leave the state they are supposed to be helping to govern and hid in Illinois to prevent the government from being able to move forward legislatively, making themselves a tyranny of the minority. In addition, the ‘protesters’ are now going to the home of the governor and scaring his family. These are the same tactics the union thugs did with the AIG execs.

A CNN reporter asked one of the protesters:

“You talk about coming to the table.. the governor coming to the table. Do you think it was the right tactic for the Democratic senators not to come to the table.”

At which point the CNN reporter was shouted down with

“United we stand. UNITED WE STAND. UNITED WE STAND…”

Nice answer. And these folks are teaching our kids? These people are an embarressment. The people of Wisconsin are being threatened by a thuggish political state.  (WThe)

Funny, That was the slogan of Ross Perot in the 1990’s, but that was evil. 🙂

American Fedn of State, County & Municipal Employees: $43,337,565 in political contributions in the last 12 years 98% Democrat.

National Education Assn: $32,021,910 93% Democrat.

American Federation of Teachers:  $28,731,591 98%-Democrat

Over a $100 million in 12 years!!

That’s a lot of dues. AFSCME was founded in Wisconsin.

So is it any wonder that the Community Agitator-in Chief would be very swift and decisive to save his own apparatchiks but dither like a person with Alzheimer’s on the Middle East?

No. But the left will use it for their own spin…

GRETA VAN SUSTEREN: All right, one quick last question. When you make the reference to Egypt, you aren’t saying that the conditions that the Wisconsin teachers are teaching under with this new — new bill or without it is remotely like Egypt, or are you?

STATE SEN. LENA TAYLOR, D-WIS: No, what I’m saying in particular, Greta, is that in Egypt, if you look, after they overthrew their ruler, they had some specific rallies and protests, and one of the ones that they had was on workers’ rights. How ironic is that, right?

Sen. Taylor also said: I have to do what I have to do so that the people of Wisconsin can have an opportunity to be heard and that this bill is not rammed so rapidly that they have no idea what’s going on.

My immediate reaction to this was then Speaker Queen Pelosi’s: As the business community and more public polling shows opposition to ObamaCare, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) tells us, “[W]e have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it, away from the fog of the controversy.”

But the Senate Democrats in Wisconsin are hiding out in Illinois (undoubtedly being paid by the Unions, George Soros, or the DNC) because they haven’t got the balls to face the democratic process when they aren’t the majority.

So enter the Astroturf:

We now know that Organizing for America (O.F.A) (Obama’s 2008 election campaign tactical team) and the Democrat Party have been hard at work supporting this protest. Ben Smith wrote this on February 17:

O.f.A Wisconsin’s field efforts include filling buses and building turnout for the rallies this week in Madison, organizing 15 rapid response phone banks urging supporters to call their state legislators, and working on planning and producing rallies, a Democratic Party official in Washington said.

And so I ask, who are the “Astroturf activists” now? Those people on the streets are not there as citizens, but as members of a powerful interest group, gathered to petition government for special treatment, with the DNC and Organizing for America coordinating the events on the ground from their offices in Washington DC.

The Astroturf activists on the streets of Madison may think they are helping their cause, but the American people are watching. And they are judging–judging them and those officials we elected to serve taxpayer rather than union interests.

America’s Organizer in Chief, President Obama, weighed in on the issue last week, calling Governor Walker’s actions an “assault on the unions.” You bet they are. And if the Democrats get this issue wrong like they got ObamaCare wrong, they’ll be hearing from the American people once again in 2012.

And this time, it just might cost them the U.S. Senate and the White House. (DC)

Michelle Malkin: Welcome to the reckoning. We have met the fiscal apocalypse, and it is smack dab in the middle of the heartland.

As Wisconsin goes, so goes the nation. Let us pray it does not go the way of the decrepit welfare states of the European Union.

The lowdown: State government workers in the Badger State pay piddling amounts for generous taxpayer-subsidized health benefits.

Faced with a $3.6 billion budget hole and a state constitutional ban on running a deficit, new GOP Gov. Scott Walker wants public unions to pony up a little more.

He has proposed raising the public employee share of health insurance premiums from less than 5% to 12.4%. He is also pushing for state workers to cover half of their pension contributions.

To spare taxpayers the soaring costs of byzantine union-negotiated work rules, he would rein in Big Labor’s collective bargaining power to cover only wages unless approved at the ballot box.

As the free-market MacIver Institute in Wisconsin points out, the benefits concessions Walker is asking public union workers to make would still maintain their health insurance contribution rates at the second-lowest among Midwest states for family coverage.

Moreover, a new analysis by benefits think tank HCTrends shows that the new rate “would also be less than the employee contributions required at 85 percent of large Milwaukee-area employers.”

Obama Speaks Up

This modest call for shared sacrifice has triggered the wrath of the White House-Big Labor-Michael Moore axis. On Thursday, President Obama lamented the “assault on unions.”

AFL-CIO and Service Employees International Union bosses dubbed Walker the “Mubarak of the Midwest,” while their minions toted posters of Walker’s face superimposed on Hitler’s.

Moore goaded thousands of striking union protesters to “shut down” the “new Cairo” while the state’s Democratic legislators bailed on floor debate over the union reform package.

Education Secretary Arne Duncan spurned the opportunity to condemn thousands of Wisconsin public school teachers for lying about being “sick” and shutting down at least eight school districts across the state to attend Capitol protests (many of whom dragged their students on a social justice field trip with them).

Instead, Duncan defended teachers for “doing probably the most important work in society.” Only striking government teachers could win federal praise for not doing their jobs.

Yes, the so-called progressives truly believe that bringing American union workers into the 21st century in line with the rest of the work force is tantamount to dictatorship.

Yes, the so-called progressives truly believe that by walking off their jobs and out of their classrooms, they are “putting children first.”

If ever there was proof that public unions no longer work in the public interest, this is it.

Big Labor dragoons workers into exclusive representation agreements, forces them to pay compulsory dues that fatten Democratic political coffers and then has the chutzpah to cast itself as an Egyptian-style “freedom” and “human rights” movement.

Meanwhile, union leaders elsewhere are quietly forcing their low-wage members to share the sacrifice in order to preserve teetering health funds.

In New York state, Skidmore College campus janitors, dining service workers and other maintenance employees received late notice from the SEIU that 4.15% of their gross earnings will now be deducted from their paychecks to cover the cost of the health plan provided through the behemoth 1199 SEIU Greater New York Benefit Fund. (If the name sounds familiar, it’s because this is one of several privileged SEIU affiliates that has received an ObamaCare waiver.)

These workers are forced to join the union in order to preserve their jobs, and unlike non-union workers, they are locked into a single health plan.

The SEIU has now decreed that they must pay new fees to include spouses on their plans and has hiked employee co-pays for doctor visits and prescription drugs.

What’s necessary for New York union workers is necessary for Wisconsin union workers — and for the rest of the protected union-worker class in bankrupt and near-bankrupt states across America.

The “persuasion of power” so ruthlessly and recklessly exercised by the SEIU and its thuggish allies must be broken by the moral courage of fiscal discipline.

It’s now or never.

The Top Ten ways to know if you’re in a Public Sector Union By Rod Pennington

10.) You take a week off to protest in Wisconsin and your office runs better.

9.) On a snow day when they say “non-essential” people should stay home you know who they mean.

8.) You get paid twice as much as a private sector person doing the same job but make up the difference by doing half as much work.

7.) It takes longer to fire you than the average killer spends on death row.

6.) The worse you do your job, the more your boss avoids you. (and the more raises you get)

5.) You think the French are working themselves to death.

4.) You know by having a copy of the Holy Koran on your desk your job is 100% safe.

3.) You spend more time at protest marches than at church.

2.) You have a Democratic congressman’s lips permanently attached to your butt.

1.) You pay more in union dues than you do for your healthcare insurance.

“The ideas of economists and political philosophers, both when they are right and when they are wrong, are more powerful than is commonly understood. Indeed the world is ruled by little else. Practical men, who believe themselves to be quite exempt from any intellectual influence, are usually the slaves of some defunct economist.” — John Maynard Keynes

The particular defunct economist who most dominates the minds of the Obama administration and the Democratic Party is Keynes himself.

But…shhhh..that’s a secret….so pass a note to the one next to you.

Don’t worry, the teacher will not catch you, she is too busy protesting to keep her greed to actually be in the classroom teaching.

MORE “CIVIL” DISCOURSE From Wisconsin Union Protesters:

Doubtful that any of the left-wing media is covering much of this.

One of many profane protest signs at the Madison, WI ‘sick out’ protest… great education for the students who were brought by their teachers.

And we end as it began, with Astroturf:

This sign cracks me up — it was obviously not grass-roots but professionally mass-produced, likely by the DNC or the unions: “Fox News will lie about this.”

Gee, I think we know who needs that new Center for Civility in Public Discourse that The University of Arizona just opened.

Or would that end up being an episode of A&E’s “Intervention”? 🙂

Orwell Rides Again

Political Cartoon by Lisa Benson

The Orwellian Alphabet soup from hell is alive and well.

The FDA wants to control what you eat.

The EPA wants to control your energy input and output in your home, your business and your car.

The IRS will be in charge of enforcing the Health Care Mandate.

And the FCC wants to control what you see on TV, hear on the radio and do on the Internet.

Who needs Congress when you can just regulate people to death.

Ownlife refers to the tendency to enjoy being solitary, which is considered subversive. Winston Smith comments that even to go for a walk by oneself can be regarded as suspicious.

Crimestop is a Newspeak term taken from the novel Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell. It means to rid oneself of unwanted thoughts, i.e., thoughts that interfere with the ideology of the Party. This way, a person avoids committing thoughtcrime.
In the novel, we hear about crimestop through the eyes of protagonist Winston Smith: “ The mind should develop a blind spot whenever a dangerous thought presented itself. The process should be automatic, instinctive. Crimestop, they called it in Newspeak. (We call it “political correctness” 😦 )
He set to work to exercise himself in crimestop. He presented himself with propositions — ‘the Party says the earth is flat’, ‘the party says that ice is heavier than water’ — and trained himself in not seeing or not understanding the arguments that contradicted them.” (sound like any liberals you know!)
Orwell also describes crimestop from the perspective of Emmanuel Goldstein in the book The Theory and Practice of Oligarchical Collectivism:
“     Crimestop means the faculty of stopping short, as though by instinct, at the threshold of any dangerous thought. It includes the power of not grasping analogies, of failing to perceive logical errors, of misunderstanding the simplest arguments if they are inimical to Ingsoc, and of being bored or repelled by any train of thought which is capable of leading in a heretical direction. Crimestop, in short, means protective stupidity.

Blackwhite is defined as follows: “ …this word has two mutually contradictory meanings. Applied to an opponent, it means the habit of impudently claiming that black is white, in contradiction of the plain facts. Applied to a Party member, it means a loyal willingness to say that black is white when Party discipline demands this. But it means also the ability to believe that black is white, and more, to know that black is white, and to forget that one has ever believed the contrary. This demands a continuous alteration of the past, made possible by the system of thought which really embraces all the rest, and which is known in Newspeak as doublethink.

Doublethink: To know and not to know, to be conscious of complete truthfulness while telling carefully constructed lies, to hold simultaneously two opinions which cancelled out, knowing them to be contradictory and believing in both of them, to use logic against logic, to repudiate morality while laying claim to it, to believe that democracy was impossible and that the Party was the guardian of democracy, to forget, whatever it was necessary to forget, then to draw it back into memory again at the moment when it was needed, and then promptly to forget it again, and above all, to apply the same process to the process itself — that was the ultimate subtlety; consciously to induce unconsciousness, and then, once again, to become unconscious of the act of hypnosis you had just performed. Even to understand the word ‘doublethink’ involved the use of doublethink. ”
“ The power of holding two contradictory beliefs in one’s mind simultaneously, and accepting both of them….To tell deliberate lies while genuinely believing in them, to forget any fact that has become inconvenient, and then, when it becomes necessary again, to draw it back from oblivion for just so long as it is needed, to deny the existence of objective reality and all the while to take account of the reality which one denies — all this is indispensably necessary. Even in using the word doublethink it is necessary to exercise doublethink. For by using the word one admits that one is tampering with reality; by a fresh act of doublethink one erases this knowledge; and so on indefinitely, with the lie always one leap ahead of the truth.

Now The REAL WORLD:

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is poised to add the Internet to its portfolio of regulated industries. The agency’s chairman, Julius Genachowski, announced Wednesday that he circulated draft rules he says will “preserve the freedom and openness of the Internet.” No statement could better reflect the gulf between the rhetoric and the reality of Obama administration policies.

With a straight face, Mr. Genachowski suggested that government red tape will increase the “freedom” of online services that have flourished because bureaucratic busybodies have been blocked from tinkering with the Web. Ordinarily, it would be appropriate at this point to supply an example from the proposed regulations illustrating the problem. Mr. Genachowski’s draft document has over 550 footnotes and is stamped “non-public, for internal use only” to ensure nobody outside the agency sees it until the rules are approved in a scheduled Dec. 21 vote. So much for “openness.”

The issue of “net neutrality” is nothing new, but the increasing popularity of online movie streaming services like Netflix have highlighted an area of potential concern. When someone watches a film over the Internet, especially in high definition, the maximum available capacity of the user’s connection is used. Think, for example, of the problems that would arise at the water works if everyone decided to turn on their faucets and take a shower simultaneously. Internet providers are beginning to see the same strain on their networks.

In some cases, heavy use of this sort slows the Web experience for everyone sharing the same lines. That has prompted some cable Internet providers to consider either charging the heavy users more or limiting access to the “problematic” services. Of course, if cinema buffs find themselves cut off from their favorite service, they’re going to be mad. If companies don’t act, they’re just as likely to find irate customers who don’t want their experience bogged down by others.

It’s not clear why the FCC thinks it needs to intervene in a situation with obvious market solutions. Companies that impose draconian tolls or block services will lose customers. Existing laws already offer a number of protections against anti-competitive behavior, but it’s not clear under what law Mr. Genachowski thinks he can stick his nose into the businesses that comprise the Internet. The FCC regulates broadcast television and radio because the government granted each station exclusive access to a slice of the airwaves. Likewise when Ma Bell accepted a monopoly deal from Uncle Sam, it came with regulatory strings attached.

No such rationale applies online, especially because bipartisan majorities in Congress have insisted on maintaining a hands-off policy. A federal appeals court confirmed this in April by striking down the FCC’s last attempt in this arena. “That was sort of like the quarterback being sacked for a 20-yard loss,” FCC Commissioner Robert M. McDowell told The Washington Times. “And now the team is about to run the exact same play. … In order for the FCC to do this, it needs for Congress to give it explicit statutory authority to do so.”

Freedom and openness should continue to be the governing principles of the Internet. That’s why Mr. Genachowski’s proposal should be rejected and Congress should make it even more clear that the FCC should stop trying to expand its regulatory empire. (Washington Times)

Get the idea.

The Obama administration is moving to give states broad leeway to decide how best to limit emissions of heat-trapping gases from factories, refineries and other industrial facilities.

The Environmental Protection Agency’s guidance to states Wednesday appears aimed at allaying businesses’ fears of a heavy-handed, Washington-dominated approach to greenhouse-gas regulation. But business groups and some lawmakers said the vagueness of the agency’s directive would invite differing interpretations and prolong companies’ uncertainty over what they must do to comply with the law. Environmental groups largely cheered the EPA’s step.

Any time environmental whackos cheer is bad for all of us.

So now you’ll 50 different envirnomental regulations to deal with. Isn’t that the reason cited by The Health Care nuts not to allow states the right to determine their own systems because it would be fractious and it was deemed not a good thing by the whackos pushing it so we had to have the heavy hand of federal bureaucrats step in and rule over us all.

Hmm….

The Global Warming crowd in sunny Cancun is facing a mutiny by Japan and other “rich” countries.

So socialist country extraordinaire Venezuela had this to say, “We will not support any situation where these countries get away with this and make no commitments. We want concrete commitments for Kyoto. A handful of countries have no right to do this,” said Claudia Salerno, Venezuela’s special climate envoy.

Gee, doesn’t that just make you feel better about them.

Wealthy countries were last night trying to avoid a diplomatic disaster, saying they were not trying to kill Kyoto. Britain and the EU have said they are prepared to sign up to a second commitment period – provided others do so too.

Developed countries have indicated in closed meetings that there is now littlechance of a second commitment period for Kyoto being negotiated in Cancún. (UK Guardian)

President Hugo Chávez today blamed “criminal” capitalism for the rains and flooding that have brought chaos to Venezuela, killing 32 people and leaving 70,000 homeless.

“The developed nations irresponsibly shatter the environmental order, in their desire to maintain a criminal development model, while the immense majority of the earth’s people suffer the most terrible consequences,” Chávez added.

He criticised the “arrogance” of rich nations. “The environmental imbalance capitalism has caused is without doubt the fundamental cause of the alarming atmospheric phenomena,” he wrote in his weekly “The Lines of Chavez” column.

“The world’s powerful economies insist on a destructive way of life and then refuse to take any responsibility.”

Gee, that’s sounds like the Obama and the Liberals… 🙂  Funny That…

Speaking of which, The Radical Left’s Socialist Haven of California….

California currently suffers with its’ self-inflicted $6 billion shortfall in this fiscal year’s budget (a wound that is supposed to swell to $24.5 billion over the next 18 months). 2 weeks ago outgoing Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger called for a “special legislative session” so the state Senate and Assembly can “fix” the budget crisis, but then quickly announced his legislative priority for the special session: a law to “ban” plastic grocery bags.

Earlier this year as the state continued to swim in debt without any budget at all, California’s legislature attempted a legislative ban on plastic bags. A budget full of accounting gimmicks got passed, but the bag ban failed.

So with the legislature called back to “fix” the phony budget, Governor Schwarzenegger is obsessed with creating his legacy: “We’re going to try over and over again” he said, as he argued for a plastic bag ban, “because we have seen in the past that when you don’t give up, eventually you can be successful.”

Never mind that Rome is burning. California will “be green.”

Arnold may get his historic plastic bag ban (condolences to those who may subsequently lose their jobs in the plastics industry), but California will not seriously address its fiscal failures. California politicians are instead making themselves feel good about their efforts to save the planet, while likely assuming that the federal government will take care of the state’s finances.

Who cares about fiscal responsibility when the Feds (with Taxpayer money) will just come in and bail us out anyways.

Does that sound like Liberal Economics 101 to you?

A) “Generate enough new renewable energy within California to serve more than 30% of current peak energy demand.” That’s a good “what” statement, but on this point the plan is devoid of any “how” substance.

B) “Reducing energy consumption in exiting California homes by 40%.” One could imagine the legislature mandating energy rationing in California households. Or perhaps the state will hire a new “residential thermostat police” force, and then claim that ‘green jobs” have been created.

C) “Revising energy efficiency standards for new homes and commercial buildings.” Such a maneuver would likely make it more difficult for those in the construction trades, but could nonetheless expand the work load for government employees who perform environmental control and building inspection tasks.

D) “Adopting new energy-efficiency standards for appliances, lighting and consumer electronics sold in California.” There has already been such a standard established for tv sets sold in California – a mandate that tv sets consume “33% less electricity” than older sets – but that new policy hasn’t even kicked-in yet. If California continues to set such “standards” that are different than the standards across the country, the state will continue to drive up the costs of electronic products, but could probably justify hiring new state “product testers.”

E) “Hire a renewable-energy jobs czar.” Yes, of course. “Creating jobs” always begins by expanding the government payroll.

Thus far, Governor-elect Brown’s “plan” has had nothing to do with saving California from its real nemesis, and has everything to do with expanding the power of government. And his plan is completely consistent – both in terms of its alleged “environmental “ components, and its reckless fiscal model – with what we’ve seen at the White House.

It is quite an opening salvo, from a soon-to-be-Governor will be asking the President for a bailout next year. But it serves to move California further and further away from the center of the universe.

Yep, that’s Liberalism 101. Ignore reality and go for what you want, regardless.

And when people complain about it, just crush them with Orwellian bovine fecal matter, regulations, fear and intimidation.

Yeah, that’s sounds about normal, for Liberals.
