Predictable Woes

I said 7 years ago when I started this blog that this was going to happen. It was predictable.

Two Words: Adverse Selection. 🙂

Republicans and many health policy experts said this would happen – that’s one of the reasons the GOP wouldn’t sign off on it.

So now that the obvious has come true, Barack Obama is floating an idea to save the entire system: Go full-steam into true socialized medicine, complete with the dreaded “public option.”

In an article for The Washington Post,  Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, a former Obamacare top official, said he had a fix for the problems. He offered a five-prong solution, but one in particular stands out: A public option.

He says that “we should consider a public option,” because “consumers should never be subject to the whims of insurer withdrawals or withdrawal threats,” The Daily Caller is reporting.

I said the objective of ObamaCare as crammed down our throats by the Democrats was only to crash the whole thing so that the Government could ride in and “save” everyone from it by doing EVEN MORE of it, namely Government Controlled Health Care. Its what the Democrats wanted all along and it’s not like they take “no” for an answer when it comes to their Agenda.

Never Let a Crisis Go to Waste.

Barack Obama “authored” a piece in the Journal of the American Medical Association. In it, he argued that progress on Obamacare is through “continuing to implement the Health Insurance Marketplaces and delivery system reform, increasing federal financial assistance for Marketplace enrollees,” and by “introducing a public plan option in areas lacking individual market competition.”

2009: Obama told the Washington Post that he thought a public option would provide the most Americans the greatest access to healthcare.

That same year, in an interview with Univision, Obama said a public option in the exchanges is “something that we can still include as part of a comprehensive reform effort.”

And he only has a few month left in office. There is no guarantee, despite what the Liberals and The Liberal Media have been doing to rig the election, that a Democrat will be around to finish us off.

And it’s not like someone is going to tell you about it.

Townhall: The number of uninsured is expected to spike by 2 million people between 2017-2026, the number of those enrolled came in 24 million under the original CBO projections, a large percentage of those who enrolled in Obamacare were already insured before their previous plans were gutted under the law, and the whole notion that the law is on the verge of total collapse. It’s a total disaster, yet NBC News, CBS News, and ABC News’ evening programs seem to ignore that President Obama’s signature domestic achievement is on life support.

The honorable mention is CBS Evening News, which has devoted 2 minutes and 18 seconds of airtime to Obamacare woes…for the entire year thus far. Mike Ciandella of the Media Research Center crunched the numbers. It’s not pretty, folks—believe me:

The broadcast networks have refused to cover the repeated failures of ObamaCare in 2016. During the entire year, ABC World News Tonight and NBC Nightly News have yet to give the floundering program any coverage at all, while CBS Evening News only found time to cover two of the ObamaCare updates – and that only added up to 2 minutes and 18 seconds of coverage for the entire year.To put that in perspective, these same three evening news shows managed to find 46 minutes and 49 seconds to dedicated to Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte running afoul of Brazilian police.

[…]

Here are some of the major ObamaCare developments that the networks ignored:

February: Investigators from the Government Accountability Office successfully defraud the ObamaCare system 11 out of 12 times.

No network evening news coverage

[…]

April: Premiums rise, deductibles spike as high as 76 percent in some states

No network evening news coverage

May 12: Federal judge says the President is illegally using federal money to pay for premium subsidies

No network evening news coverage

August: Aetna announced that it plans to back out of ObamaCare, after losing $300 million this year from individual coverage sold on the ObamaCare exchanges. Aetna and Humana join UnitedHealth in pulling out of ObamaCare.

Only CBS Evening News covered this, for 1 minute, 55 seconds on August 16

Well, of course, you know this is media malpractice. A significant law is on the verge of disaster millions of Americans’ health care coverage could be detrimentally impacted, and the media is doing their best to shield the White House from fanning the flames of their horrible law. That’s sounds like par of the course…sadly.

7 Year Rash

Today is the 7th Anniversary of this blog. For a long time this year I considered making this one my last because, quite simply, The Stupid Have Inherited the Earth. Intelligence and Common Sense (let alone <gasp> Logic) are Politically Incorrect. Hell, some Leftists have decreed that just saying “politically incorrect” is Politically Incorrect. 😦

So instead I thought I’d revisit one of my favorites from the last 7 years.

This also goes out the #NeverTrump -ers who are so mindlessly obsessed with hating Donald Trump that they are willing Hillary into the White House.

Hate never felt so Right. 🙂

And a special shout out to the Sabotage Republicans (The Establishment ones and their followers) WHO ALSO want Hillary.

The Generations (and possibly permanent) of damage you want to inflict on what’s LEFT of this country is so short-sighted you deserve her.

It will be YOUR fault.

Agree with me or else!

To the future or to the past, to a time when thought is free, when men are different from one another and do not live alone — to a time when truth exists and what is done cannot be undone: From the age of uniformity, from the age of solitude, from the age of Big Brother, from the age of doublethink — greetings! -George Orwell

So with that in mind, cast your mindless adherence to January 21, 2012  and this Blog and see yourselves currently in it also.

THE ZOMBIE HOARD

They are just a zombie hoard.

Remorseless. Merciless. Incapable of shame, morals or ethics.

They want want what they want when they want it and because they want it and will do anything to get it. Relentlessly.

And what they want is YOU. You to be either converted or cow-towed to their every whim. To do whatever they want when they want it.

Evidence John King, the CNN Liberal Moderator of the South Carolina Debate. He opens the debate with a salicious question to Gingrich about his “open marriage” and Gingrich blows him to bits for it and the crowd goes wild.

He did this to prove his “courage” to stand up to the evil “right wingers” and puff out his chest that he was “journalist” and was going to bravely confront the issue. Meanwhile, anything remotely damaging to President Obama is ignored with great speed and spin.🙂

2016: Just Like they do with Hillary. The Debate will be set up to show that Trump is grumpy, unstable and mean. The fact that Hillary is a congenital, sociopathica Liar has no bearing on the debates whatsover.

Their will be more Candy Crowley moments than ever.

And the Zombie hoard will eat it up like candy. “Brains…”

“In times of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act”.- George Orwell.

And their has never been more deceit now than ever in American History and more mindless Zombie Hoards out to make sure “What difference does it make, anyways?”

Rush Limbaugh (who I rarely get a chance to listen to because of my work schedule): Now, let me tell you one thing here, folks: You cannot shame the mainstream media. If any of you are thinking that the media learned a lesson — if any of you believe that the media finally had it handed to ’em, if you believe that the media had their eyes opened and they are fully awake now and they understand what they’re dealing with — forget it. John King is proud of what happened last night. John King is a hero in the Main Street media because he didn’t back down, because he continued to illustrate how it is that the media does really control the agenda. That was a demonstration of the power they hold over every public figure’s head, that they choose to hold like a guillotine. John King… There may even be some jealousy and envy within the journalist ranks (well, not journalists; within the Democrat Party ranks) because John King is a guy that got in Newt’s face, stared him down — and the fact that Newt told him off? It’s a badge of honor. If you are thinking that John King was embarrassed and ran away with his tail tucked between his legs and learned his lesson and it’ll never happen again? Ah, ah, ah, ah. You cannot shame the mainstream media. They are proud of this. They delight in their power to destroy candidates that they don’t like.

And they don’t like anyone who doesn’t cow-tow to them.

2016: They made THEIR Choice. Now it’s you’re Zombie duty to vote for it or else.

“At the end of the day the message to every conservative who hasn’t run for office is: “You want a piece of this? You want some of this? You want Brian Ross hounding you and your ex-wife and then you want me asking you about it on national TV the next night? Come on in. We’re ready.” That’s the message from John King and CNN last night, and do not doubt me on this.”

2016: look at the evidence, every time new “evidence” comes out about Hillary they bury it. Every time Trump even raises his voice or say one less than perfect political phrase they are on it like flies on shit and they stick to it like super glue and blow it up.

mountain

So the alternative is to cow-tow. To live in fear of the Liberal wrath.

2016: To acquiesce. Given in, the Ministry of Truth has the system rigged.

Hell, the Democrats got caught rigging the Primary, blatantly.

No one really cared.

The Zombie Hoard just went, “oh” and moved on. The Media covered it up.

Debbie Wasserman-Schultz was sacrificed.

End of Story.

#2: Hillary is caught re-handed on the Email Scandal. The FBI even says so. But since Comey has connections to Clinton and doesn’t want to have a mysterious “accident” she is not prosecuted.

Future Hillary Supreme Court Nominee Loretta Lynch, Attorney General and Clinton Cronie refuses to prosecute her.

Other people not connected to Clinton aren’t so lucky.

David_Petraeus

And the reaction from the Zombie Hoard, “Yawn”.

Hillary is still leading in the Polls!

“Brains…”

The Food Police. The TSA. The EPA. The Justice Department. Homeland Security. The FCC.

Because if they can’t make you a zombie, they can at least make you a peasant in fear of your Masters who will not challenge them or not have the power to challenge them.

“[…]you don’t have to be Sun freakin Tzu to know that real fighting isn’t about killing or even hurting the other guy, it’s about scaring him enough to call it a day.”
― Max Brooks, World War Z: An Oral History Of The Zombie War

They’ll just turn your children into zombies instead. 12 years of Grade School and 4 years of College is a lot of Zombie Voodoo time after all. And “getting them while they are young” is entirely within the Zombie Liberal playbook. Make them a zombie before they even know what one is and then make them as immune as possible to any anti-virus and get them addicted to their own Kool-Aid. Feed it to them constantly through the Media and the Internet.

2016: They’ll DEMAND Segregation, “Safe Spaces”, “Diversity” and “Inclusion” mindlessly and will trample Free Speech because they don’t want to be “offended”.

FREEDOM IS SLAVERY

WAR (Class, Gender, Race, Religion) IS PEACE

IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH

Hell, even white people getting a tan will set the little zombie off…

What it does is illustrate that they can be dealt with. But you can’t beat ’em. They’re not gonna be shamed. They’re not going to be shamed into stopping the coverage of conservatives as they do it. It’s going to continue. No matter what kind of shame you think they suffer in a contest like that — no matter how much money they lose, no matter how many of them get fired, no matter how many magazines or TV stations or newspapers get shut down — they are not gonna change. They are hard-core, leftists”

And as I have said over and over again, they are have no morals or ethics because they are governed not by logic and reason but by emotions, mostly the most basic of primitive emotions, Fear, Lust (for power), anger, jealousy, ENVY, etc. –Raw emotions.

2016: THE END JUSTIFIES THE MEANS!

Which is why when you engage them they sound and act like an immature 5 year old. And as we all know from childhood development the child has to develop a sense of shame by have having boundaries and limitations and consequences. And if they don’t, they will grow up with little to no sense of shame.

disagree

2016: “Microaggressions” anyone?

They are usually called sociopaths. I can call them Liberal Zombies.

2016: And the #Never Trumpers and Establishment RINOs.

Liberals have no shame. They want what they want when they want it because they want it.

2016: And the #Never Trumpers and Establishment RINOs.

“…one of the upsides that isn’t gonna happen is the media saying, “Gosh, we’ve been so mean to these people and so unfair. You know, maybe we ought to start being fair.” That’s not going to happen.

Liberals talk about being “fair” which means you’re being unfair to them and should do what they want.

Liberals talk about “compassion” but it’s to make you feel guilty, not them, and to do what they want.

Liberals will talk about “bi-partisanship” but that just means you have to compromise your principles so they can do what they want.

“Diversity” means you’re evil and need to do what they say to repent for your sins.

2016: “Inclusion” Means you include everything THEY say and do it without hesitation.

They are a remorseless hoard. They want what they want when they want it and on their terms only.

Give them everything they want or they’ll cry, scream, bitch, moan, pout and lash out at you.

2016: “White Privilege” anyone?

That is their primitive zombie hoard mentality. And they want YOU.extremists

Get rid of one zombie, and 10 more will take it’s place. So you have to be ready to do battle constantly.

Look at 2010. The Democrats suffered the worst defeat in 80 years. Does it look like they learned ANYTHING?

No.

As a matter of fact the zombie hoard is even tighter, even more determined than ever. They want it EVEN MORE.

So if we defeat then in 2012 will they go away?

HELL NO!

2016: They weren’t defeated. Even more hoards joined them. So if they are beat in 2016 will they finally be defeated and go away.

HELL NO!

They will just keep coming back like a remorseless zombie hoard until you are overwhelmed.

Which is why you will have to fight them all of your days, your kids days and their kids days until the infection is wiped out.

But like any good zombie plaque it only takes 1 to re-ignite it and spread it all over again.

And these zombies have Media and Internet outlets! (and Europe!)

“Looking back, I still can’t believe how unprofessional the news media was. So much spin, so few hard facts. All those digestible sound bites from an army of ‘experts’ all contradicting one another, all trying to seem more ‘shocking’ and ‘in-depth’ than the last one. It was all so confusing, nobody seemed to know what to do.”
― Max Brooks, World War Z: An Oral History Of The Zombie War

“The only rule that ever made sense to me I learned from a history, not an economics, professor at Wharton. “Fear,” he used to say, “fear is the most valuable commodity in the universe.” That blew me away. “Turn on the TV,” he’d say. “What are you seeing? People selling their products? No. People selling the fear of you having to live without their products.” Fuckin’ A, was he right. Fear of aging, fear of loneliness, fear of poverty, fear of failure. Fear is the most basic emotion we have. Fear is primal. Fear sells.”

“This is the only time for high ideals because those ideals are all that we have. We aren’t just fighting for our physical survival, but for the survival of our civilization. We don’t have the luxury of old-world pillars. We don’t have a common heritage, we don’t have a millennia of history. All we have are the dreams and promises that bind us together. All we have…is what we want to be.”
― Max Brooks, World War Z: An Oral History Of The Zombie War

“…We were a shaken, broken species, driven to the edge of extinction and grateful only for tomorrow with perhaps a little less suffering than today. Was this the legacy we would leave our children, a level of anxiety and self-doubt not seen since our simian ancestors cowered in the tallest trees? What kind of world would they rebuild? Would they rebuild at all? Could they continue to progress, knowing that they would be powerless to reclaim their future? And what if that future saw another rise of the living dead? Would our descendants rise to meet them in battle, or simply crumple in meek surrender and accept what they believe to be their inevitable extinction? For this alone, we had to reclaim our planet. We had to prove to ourselves that we could do it, and leave that proof as this war’s greatest monument. The long, hard road back to humanity, or the regressive ennui of Earth’s once-proud primates. That was the choice, and it had to be made now.”

The Rainbow Shirts

They are at it again.

The Rainbow Shirts (so named by me because they act like the The Brown Shirts of old) with fear, intimidation, and government threats. Plus, they get help from the weak-kneaded ,wanna-be-seen-to-be Politically Correct enablers (Disney, Marvel, The NFL).

Georgia wanted to pass an RFRA (Religious Freedom Restortation Act) but the Rainbow Shirts and their PC Allies took offense to it, naturally. After all, it had to be bigoted and targeted at THEM. Isn’t everything, when you’re power mad and have so much sanctimony that you could plug up a black hole with it.

H.B. 757, known as the Pastor Protection Act, gives faith-based organizations the right to fire people who violate the group’s “sincerely held religious beliefs.” It also gives faith-based organizations—many of whom enjoy tax-exempt status—the right to refuse to rent facilities for events they find “objectionable” and gives clergy the right to refuse to perform same-sex weddings.

Wow! They want to actually practice there religious beliefs in America!!!

Man what haters!!!  They must be stopped! 🙂

It’s a ” sweeping anti-LGBTQ law” after all, proposed by pure, unadulterated KKK-style  bigotry. It can’t be anything else. The Ideology says it can’t be. So it isn’t End of Story.

Imagine that, Christians who want to be Christians in a  Christian Faith Based Organization and/or in a Christian Churches!!!!

THE HORROR!

Wow! That’s really hateful. The KKK will be meeting there next.

I guess there are no other places for these events in the Whole of Georgia except at Churches.

And private businesses that practice The Christian Faith are the only place these want to be employed at.

Amazing coincidences, don’t you think? 🙂

And, of course, the neighbors are all a TWITTER about the Gay Couple that move in next door and ruined their property values! 🙂

So Government hasn’t kissed their ass in the last nano-second or two they MUST BE being discriminated against so THEY MUST crush someone for it.

It’s all Hate, all the the time. They are Warriors of Their Faith and they must crush you before you have a chance to defy them!

I wonder if that applies to Pizza places in Georgia too? 🙂

I guess they will have move on to the Mosques next. They are places of Religious Worship and Faith based “exclusion”, Just like a Church.

Oh right, Muslims kill Homosexuals in the Middle East for even daring to say anything at all. No hate there, that would be Islamophobia…So it’s Politically Incorrect to go after THAT group.

After all, they just blow people up and the same Leftist bow and scrap and kiss their ass, “thank you, sir, may we have another”.

Ideology is all-consuming. Ideology is Reality.

Common Sense, and “tolerance” need not apply. But “tolerance” and “diversity (with “inclusion”) are required when kissing the ass of a Liberal, you racist, bigoted, islamophobic, white privilege, dirt bag!

Bow down before your Masters, and their Rainbow Shirts.

First Amendment: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

My LIBERAL First Amendment that I wrote years ago: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of Any religion, and mocking the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of LIBERAL PROGRESSIVE speech, or of the LIBERAL PROGRESSIVE press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble to worship the LIBERAL PROGRESSIVES, any assembly in opposition must therefore be “terrorism” or “racism”, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances against Corporations and anyone opposed to the Politically Correct and to seek “social justice”  and “fairness” at all costs.

Pauperenza

“Affluenza” is the new term for youth who grow unstable due to wealth. “Pauperenza” is my term for Millennials who lose touch with reality due to poverty. Pop star Justin Bieber gets arrested in Miami Beach for getting high and clocking 136 mph while drag racing in a Lamborghini. Bernie Sanders fans pout and shout:  Free College! Universal Debt Forgiveness! $15 Minimum Wage! Rich or poor, the kids are not all right.

Maybe that should be Pamperedneeza?

A survey by Harris Poll last month found that Millennials fear taxes more than any other generation. 80% of young people ages 18-34 tell pollsters they shudder at the thought of paying and filing taxes. Yet my young peers clamor for programs that will ultimately raise their taxes.

To be fair, Millennials weren’t born this way. For the most part, our parents—the Baby Boomers—went easy on us. 82% of Boomers did household chores as children, but when they became parents only 28% required their children to do chores according to a 2014 Braun Research study. A new study finds that Millennials even refuse to eat cereal because it involves work (pouring cereal and milk into a bowl and then putting a bowl and spoon into a dishwasher).

The good news is, it’s not too late for us to reform. We’ll become happier and more successful while our parents will get a much-needed break.

The Truth Hurts—And Heals

Millennials are poor in two respects: education and economics. With regard to education, their college professors—whom I fondly refer to as “The Mafia”—massage their malleable minds until they believe that capitalism is dangerous and socialism is a cure-all, while not understanding the meaning of either term. Economically speaking, one-in-four Millennials lives at home with their parents. And this is even down from one-in-three during the middle of Obama’s presidency.

$19 trillion in debt, our country is broke. Plus, the rich will continue to expatriate if taxes soar. Millennials do not realize that the programs they think will level the playing field between themselves and the super-rich will raise their taxes and make the tax-paying process more formidable. Lowering the minimum wage to $0 would actually help Millennials more than raising it to $15, or even $100.

It’s often unpleasant to face reality. A flat tire is an inconvenience, but shouting “Buy me a new car!” at passing drivers gets you nowhere. Yet this is how Millennials attempt to solve their fiscal challenges.

5 million people and counting have watched a YouTube video showing Millennial Keely Mullen debate Fox Business host Neil Cavuto on the topic of “free stuff.” Mullen is a national organizer for Million Student March. Here’s an abridgement of their eye-opening exchange:

Fox Business Host Neil Cavuto: “They’ve done studies on this Keely …even if you were to take the 1% and take all of their money, tax it 100%, do you know that it couldn’t keep Medicare—just Medicare—going for three years? … it wouldn’t support one entitlement in this country for three years.”

Millennial Keely Mullen: “I don’t believe that! Um, yeah, I’m sorry, I just don’t, that sounds completely ludicrous to me.”

Cavuto: “Do you know how much it will cost to mandate a $15 minimum wage across the country; to have every student loan debt paid off; to pay for public college for everyone?”

Mullen: “Yeah, absolutely: $1.3 trillion dollars in student debt. That’s just a beginning.”

Cavuto: “Do you know how much you get fully taxing the 1% [at a rate of] 100%? It’s about a trillion… which would barely keep Medicare going for three years… Even if we repositioned it to go into this area that you want, we don’t have enough to do it, so you’re gonna have to find other means of getting money, right?”

Mullen: “Yeah, no doubt about it. Yeah.”

Cavuto: “Colleges… knowing that student debt is taken care of—it’s forgiven—do you think [they]… aren’t going to leap at the opportunity to gouge [students] even more?”

Mullen: “If we have a big enough mass movement of people in the streets, we can actually prevent things like that from happening.”

YA CAN’T FIX  WILLFULLY IGNORANT, Can you?

Street rule generally doesn’t turn out well. The guillotine was used by French aristocrats to purge commoners as well as by commoners to purge aristocrats—while doing little to solve either party’s grievances.

We must educate our young people so that politicians on both sides are no longer able to manipulate them. On the one hand we have “Republicans” like Paul Ryan who approve $1.2 trillion spending bills—and on the other we have Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton promising free college for which they know they can’t pay.

Millennials fear taxes, but the entitlement programs for which they clamor will cause our country to go broke—a fatal taxation on their future hopes and dreams. Share this with young people you know so the truth might heal their Pauperenza.

Political Cartoons by Henry Payne

Really? Hillary….

As the Republican Party has gone to war with itself over Donald Trump’s morality and fitness for the presidency to such an extent that it has produced a #nevertrump movement, it’s hard to miss the fact that there is no #neverhillary movement on the Left even though she’s a loathsome figure. Granted, there are plenty of enthusiastic liberals who prefer the authentic, untainted embrace of an open socialist to the scripted foulness of Hillary Clinton, but at the end of the day, almost all of them are okay with her.

Let me ask a question the mainstream media is always happy to ask about Republicans, but never asks about its preferred candidates on the Left:  What does it say about you as a person if you besmirch yourself by voting for Grandma Benghazi?

Where, now, according to her revision of history, no one died.

Here’s a woman who lies so often that her name has practically become synonymous with deception.

Her lies are lies. Her Truth is a lie.

Unlike her husband, who was such an artful liar that people wanted to believe him when he wasn’t telling the truth, Hillary is ham-fisted about it. She tells obvious lies that everyone from the media to her enemies, to her friends know are lies right from the beginning.

But she gets away with it because the Liberal Media will not call her on them and her zombie followers haven’t got the mind to object.

How do you vote for a woman so dishonest that she claims her daughter was jogging around the World Trade Center on 911 or said with a straight face that she landed under sniper fire in Bosnia?

Because a) She’s a Woman. b) She’s a Democrat. That’s all the zombies need. There is nothing intelligent behind it.

When she lies about having her own email server and about putting our national security at risk by having huge numbers of classified emails sent to it, how do you respect yourself when she gets caught lying about it over and over again?

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

And Liberals are all in on The State.

Speaking of that, there are few things less American than allowing someone to get away with breaking the law just because she’s privileged. It’s not even controversial to say that anyone not named “Clinton” who sent more than 2000 classified emails to a private server would lose security clearance and would be going to jail. In fact, even the Obama Administration has already put people in jail for doing less than Hillary Clinton has done. So, how do you look your own children in the eyes when you vote for a woman with an indictment hanging over her head who’s hoping to get off because she’s “above the law?”

Because she not an evil, racist, bigoted, Republican. 🙂

Additionally, whatever you want to say about the Republican Party this year, at least we knocked off Jeb Bush. How do you rally behind an even more pathetic Democratic equivalent, a mediocre woman whose entire career has been based on a loveless, dysfunctional marriage to a serial adulterer?

Because she’s a Woman and HIS dick works. 🙂

That should be her campaign slogan: “Vote For Hillary: She Married The Right Man!”

That would be a much better slogan than “Hillary For America.” Other than Barack Obama, there’s no one that half of America would rather see in the White House less than Hillary Clinton.  When you choose someone who has been despised by half the country for as long as Hillary has as your candidate, you’re saying “Screw you and drop dead” to everyone who doesn’t vote for your candidate.

That would be being a Democrat.

That’s doubly true since it goes without saying that there can be nothing but open political warfare between the GOP and a woman who has publicly declared that “Republicans” are her enemies. If you think our government is dysfunctional now, you haven’t seen anything compared to what it will look like if Hillary becomes President.

But it will be all The Republican’s Fault, as it has been for the last decade. 🙂

Yet, you’re supposed to stomach the nausea-inducting cocktail that is Hillary Clinton just because she’s a woman.

YEP.

She lies all the time! But, she’s a woman! She belongs in jail after what she did with her email server. It’s a woman’s turn! She was a mediocre senator and people died in Benghazi because she ignored hundreds of security warnings? I guess some people just don’t like women!

No, they’ve been conditioned to hate Republicans.

It’s disgusting and ironic that a woman who worked overtime to protect a sexual predator like her husband from the consequences of his actions now wants to play the “girl power” card as the central theme of her campaign, but she has long since abandoned human decency in her all-consuming quest for power. But, what do you say about the people who are willing to potentially play along with this disgusting charade for the next eight years? The people who are just fine with pinning every failure, every lie and every inevitable disaster caused by Hilllary Clinton on sexism? If you at least feel a little bit of shame when you pull the lever for Hillary, then congratulations, you still have a heart.  (Townhall)

I wonder if the liberal Media weill report on the non-riot, non-blocking, non-violent Conservatives at Hillary’s event today in Phoenix?

Naw, it will just glow with her divine light. 🙂

Burger Burn

I found this hilarious. All the little Crybabies were mad at the mean old capitalist…

The CEO of Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s has visited the fully automated restaurant Eatsa — and it’s given him some ideas on how to deal with rising minimum wages.

Eatsa, In the very heart of Liberalism, San Francisco: http://insidescoopsf.sfgate.com/blog/2015/08/31/fast-food-reinvented-eatsa-a-fully-automated-restaurant-opens-today/

“I want to try it,” CEO Andy Puzder told Business Insider. “We could have a restaurant that’s focused on all-natural products and is much like an Eatsa, where you order on a kiosk, you pay with a credit or debit card, your order pops up, and you never see a person.”

Puzder takes a highly conservative stance when it comes to the minimum wage issue — he’s written two op-eds against it in the Wall Street Journal.

“With government driving up the cost of labor, it’s driving down the number of jobs,” he said. “You’re going to see automation not just in airports and grocery stores, but in restaurants.” Entrepreneurs make their very living by solving problems and liberals demanding outrageous pay for low level work is one that is easily solved these days. “This is the problem with Bernie Sanders, and Hillary Clinton, and progressives who push very hard to raise the minimum wage,” said Puzder. “Does it really help if Sally makes $3 more an hour if Suzie has no job?” Puzder has really warmed to the idea of robots and I have to say, I’m beginning to as well: “They’re always polite, they always upsell, they never take a vacation, they never show up late, there’s never a slip-and-fall, or an age, sex, or race discrimination case,” said Puzder of swapping employees for machines. Imagine the legal expense saved! Not to mention regulatory compliance. It’s as I have said most of my life… if you want job security, you had better work for yourself. No one will pay you better or work you harder. (RWN)

No one should be shocked that the Carl’s Jr. CEO wants to replace people in his stores. Anyone with the most rudimentary understanding of economics saw this coming, which naturally excludes those supporting the #FightFor15 movement. Bernie Sanders, we’re looking at you…

The Liberals will never see it coming. Their Thought Police/Agenda Uber Alles Filters will leave them totally blind.

But the fact that he’s so blunt about it? I tip my hat to you sir…

“If you’re making labor more expensive, and automation less expensive- this is not rocket science,” Puzder said.

“They’re always polite, they always upsell, they never take a vacation, they never show up late, there’s never a slip-and-fall, or an age, sex, or race discrimination case,” says Puzder of swapping employees for machines. “Millennials like not seeing people. I’ve been inside restaurants where we’ve installed ordering kiosks… and I’ve actually seen young people waiting in line to use the kiosk where there’s a person standing behind the counter, waiting on nobody.”

Leftists of course gotta leftist…

I guess Carl’s Jr saw what happened to McDonalds, WalMart, and the Gap when it came to a minimum wage hike. Also, I’m assuming this man had a calculator.

Of course, leftists could have read this man’s statements, attempted to understand an evolving economy and readjust their policy proposal. Instead, as they always do, they decide to fight against market forces through the demanding of government coercion. Just like when they fought against “right to work” (see those videos here). Just like when they fought against online media sharing. Just like when they, most recently, and incredibly ironically, oppose the emerging “sharing economy” like Uber and AirB&B (read more about that here).

That’s right. Self-professed socialists are attempting to SHUT DOWN THE SHARING ECONOMY. Let that sink in for a moment.

Why? Because to modern leftists, everything else takes a backseat to them getting theirs, period. It’s why Bernie’s promises of endless, mathematically impossible free sh** are so appealing.

Unenlightened Narcissism and “Entitlement” Greed are a very bad combination.

It didn’t work all that well for the Unions…

“This is the problem with Bernie Sanders, and Hillary Clinton, and progressives who push very hard to raise the minimum wage,” says Puzder. “Does it really help if Sally makes $3 more an hour if Suzie has no job?”

But for more rote tasks like grilling a burger or taking an order, technology may be even more precise than human employees.

“They’re always polite, they always upsell, they never take a vacation, they never show up late, there’s never a slip-and-fall, or an age, sex, or race discrimination case,” says Puzder of swapping employees for machines.

But Puzder says that a restaurant that’s 100% automated would have one big plus for millennials: no social interaction.

“Millennials like not seeing people,” he says. “I’ve been inside restaurants where we’ve installed ordering kiosks … and I’ve actually seen young people waiting in line to use the kiosk where there’s a person standing behind the counter, waiting on nobody.” (Tea Party.org)

But conservatives are not immune. Listen, the minimum wage absurdity is obvious. But what do you think will happen if you try to punish trade? If you put more tariffs on China, or American manufacturers with manufacturing plants in Mexico? Businesses aren’t going to eat that cost. It will simply be passed on to you. When people demand government-mandated minimum wages that are not in line with market values, or they demand taxes on goods produced offshore to “bring back American jobs,” it is ultimately a tax on you, the consumer. As a general rule, consumers then migrate to where services are cheaper, and the American businesses go under. At which point they’ll promptly demand a bailout to continue the never-ending cycle.  (Crowder)

Detroit anyone? 🙂

Rise Up

Dennis Miller: Hey, kids. Hillary has 1132 pledged delegates without the super delegates factored in. Sanders has 818 of the same. Hillary has 467 super delegates (given out by the powers that be in the Democratic Party) for a total of 1599 delegates. Sanders has been awarded only 26 super delegates for a total of 844 delegates. Flip the super delegate distribution and she would have 1158, he would have 1285. He would be winning. It’s a rigged game over there, young people. They’re going to jam her down your throat. Don’t take it. Rise up.

Loved it. 🙂

It’s also true of The Most Corrupt Woman on The Planet.

And the Democrats having “Super Delegates” that get bought off to settle who gets the Nomination means the process is, like most Democrats, ultimately totally corrupted.

And here’s her voter base…

“How Else He Gonna Get His Money?”

FLORIDA – The family of a 17-year-old are furious the teen was shot and killed by a homeowner police say was protecting her property.

The sister of the teen who died identified him as Trevon Johnson and released the following statement to CBS Miami:

“I don’t care if she have her gun license or any of that. That is way beyond the law… way beyond, He was not supposed to die like this. He had a future ahead of him. Trevon had goals… he was a funny guy, very big on education, loved learning.

He obviously needed a better education in “How to” rob someone’s home. 🙂
You have to look at it from every child’s point of view that was raised in the hood. You have to understand… how he gonna get his money to have clothes to go to school? You have to look at it from his point-of-view.”

I wonder if he was a relative of Obama’s “son” Trayvon… 🙂

He had every right to rob you and you weren’t supposed to do anything about it, you rac*st pig dogs!

He needed it. You had it. So it was obvious that that it was his.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

The Crybaby Entitled Generation in a nutshell.

They deserve Hillary.

It’s just the rest of us don’t.

Hxstory

Politically Correct Speech and Thoughtless “feelings” Alert. Your brain has been warned.

Student activists at Western Washington University (WWU) have started a petition demanding the creation of a new college dedicated to social justice, resources to learn alternate histories, compensation for harassed students, a student committee to police offensive speech, and culturally segregated living arrangements.

The petition, drafted by the Student Assembly for Power and Liberation (SAPL), has been signed by 494 students as of press time.

“We cannot count on the University to follow through for hxstorically oppressed students.”

“[W]e cannot count on the University to follow through for hxstorically [sic] oppressed students. These demands come out of a long hxstory of oppression played out at all levels of schooling,” the demand states.

SAPL says that the reason for these demands is to combat the oppression that is, “upheld through this institution, as it was created to uphold white supremacy at its core.”

Their first demand is for the creation of the College of Power and Liberation that will require hiring ten tenure track professors which students will have active participation in the interview process.

“[S]tudents must have power in deciding what subject areas and [what] professors can teach at the college,” the petition says.

And their parents gave them the power to decide what to spend money on in the family and whether they need to do “x” right? 😦

The second demand calls for students and faculty who are committed to confronting racism, misogyny, trans- and homophobia on the campus, to be compensated for doing decolonizing work.

Meaning destroy White people and get paid for it. 🙂

Such work includes, but is not limited to, “Providing space and resources to learn alternate histories  (Because the truth is Politically Incorrect), supporting student’s non academic work (aka get paid to protest), emotional and intellectual labor that is not about publishing or service to the institution (kiss my ass and let me get paid for goofing off), providing often unrecognized trainings (aka Politically Correct workshops on Transgenders, White Privilege, etc), workshops, and/or interventions on behalf of students.” (But only the Politically Correct one, everyone else should be destroyed or banned).

The third demand is for a “15 persxn [sic] paid student committee,” that will, “monitor, document, and archive all racist, anti-black, transphobic, cissexist, misogynistic, ablest [sic], homophobic, islamophobic, and otherwise oppressive behavior on campus.”

The Thought Police. These little cherubs of PC Joy haven’t the slightest f*cking clue what The Constitution says , how it says it, or why. And They don’t care, either.

They are Homo Superior Liberalis, they are just so much better than us mere mortals.

Bow down to their superiority, or else!

This paid student committee will implement a “three strike” disciplinary system that all students and faculty will be subject to. Tenured faculty could be fired for conducting an unsafe classroom environment due to “oppressive behaviors.”

Aka The Thought Police. You have the Freedom to do as we say, and nothing else because this is Amerika!  Land of “Oppressed”and Home of The Politically Correct. 🙂

SAPL further demands the creation of a multicultural residence building to “celebrate student’s different identities and to give us a chance to live together in order to build a community and connections.”

Segregation. 🙂

The final demand says that any WWU student who has been, “targeted by, harassed by, or has experienced excruciating acts of violence that was racialized, sexualized, gendered, based on ability, employment status, citizenship and/or mental health from the University,” must be compensated by the university through tuition reimbursements.

WE WANT MONEY!!!! YOUR MONEY!!! MAKE US “RICH”. 🙂

…to create work study positions for at least 20 percent of the new college’s students; and a $50,000 “opening event” that will bring together “eminent scholars from the interdisciplinary fields that have grown out of social-justice movements, marking the beginning of the momentous history of the College of Power and Liberation and the reemergence of a serious commitment to Ethnic and Gender studies on Western’s campus.”

Despite their call for tens of millions of dollars in new outlays in the near future, no information is presented about the effect that these changes would have on tuition;

Well, I’m sure in true liberal tradition the millions in new expenditures would have to be paid by “Rich” people and the Non-PC class. Certainly, not them. As a matter of fact, tuition is too oppressive now so it should be less, to encourage more disadvantaged students to attend. 🙂

SPEND MORE, Costs less. Give us YOUR MONEY.Classic Liberalism in action, right?

nor about how many present or future students––including students from historically marginalized groups––would enroll in such a college or major in its subject areas. Would the new college best meet the needs of disadvantaged students? Or would it most benefit students, including white students from wealthy backgrounds, who want to pursue collegiate majors inflected with social-justice ideology?

But it “feels” good. It “feels” right.

The Committee for Social Transformation would also control a new dorm, reviewing applications and deciding who could live there. The likely result would be the ideological segregation of students, undermining the intellectual diversity that is a core benefit of residential life.

An inconvenient truth, I’m sure.

The petition goes on to call for $45,000 annually to compensate “students and faculty doing de-colonial work on campus” and the creation of a 15-member student panel, dubbed the Office for Social Transformation, “to monitor, document, and archive all racist, anti-black, transphobic, cissexist, misogynistic, ablest, homophobic, Islamophobic, xenophobic, anti-semitic, and otherwise oppressive behavior.” This panel would have the power to investigate and discipline students and faculty members and to fire even tenured faculty members.

“We demand the recognition of an unsafe classroom environment due to the oppressive behaviors articulated above as a severe offense,” the petition states, “and a justifiable cause for an investigation of tenured faculty that could lead to discharge.” It is difficult to imagine Western Washington University attracting high-quality hires, or maintaining a classroom environment conducive to free inquiry or vital discussions about race, so long as a student panel could revoke tenure for thought-crimes. (The Atlantic)

“When Western begins to make phony excuses and resist needed changes (aka Politically Incorrect ones), we will be forced to look at Western as an enemy to Black [sic] and non-white people and, [sic] act accordingly. In short, there will be political consequences for political mistakes,” SAPL says.

Threats, too. Wow, we are on a “moral” high horse. Overdosing on PC.

Excuses like the University President’s response: The proposal would fundamentally contradict our policies, practices, mutually bargained contracts, and federal law and policy on such matters as faculty evaluation and discipline, student conduct and discipline, the investigation of alleged racist behaviors, and the planning of facilities, spaces and residence halls. I further find, in the proposal, language possibly threatening our core commitments to campus-wide inclusivity and, again possibly, to academic freedom. The proposal is also problematic, for it would have large budgetary impacts but is missing a critical component of any complete proposal; namely, a credible approach for funding.

Liberal Economics, do it because it makes me “feel” good and superior to you apes. You gives a crap if it’s impractical or just fantasy.

Their existing demands show how well-intentioned students in an ideological bubble can rally around measures that would destroy their institution. This is especially so when their agenda is thick with ideology and bereft of fact-finding or empiricism.

But it has “feeling”and that’s more important than actual facts.

As evidence by the response (which is very Liberal):

“We believe it’s the responsibility of admin and faculty to find the necessary funding. If they can find the funding for a brand-new athletics gym to boost their recruitment rates, they can find the funding to support their most vulnerable students, (aka you got funding for your pet project why not ours?) ” the group said in response to the president’s note that their proposals lacked a plan for funding.

The petition demanded action by March 1, but as of press time, no action has apparently been taken.

SAPL’s Facebook page posted an email that university president Bruce Shepard wrote to the Associated Students of WWU in which he says that, “[W]hile I bring the matter to your attention, I am not requesting any particular actions.”

Piss off, you little PC brats!

“Using highly politicized rhetoric, he attempted to claim that hxstorically [sic] marginalized students are getting their needs met by his ‘Task Forces’, the very Task Forces we have clearly named as not only ineffective, but also enforcers of the same forms of oppression manifested in the University,” SAPL says about Shepard’s email.

Despite having over 400 signatures, the top comment on their petition page calls the list of demands, “Absolute rubbish.”

“It ashamed me as an alumni (class of 2012) to see my alma mater descend into such a liberal authoritarian wasteland. Do yourselves a favor and go travel, you may just see how lucky you are to be at university in the United States,” the comment says.

They have no clue, nor do they want one. They are Homo Superior Liberalis! They are Gods among Mortal Men (or is that Mxn)? 🙂

Campus Reform has reached out to representatives of WWU as well as SAPL but have not received a reply by press time.

They are too busy mopping in a corner and stewing about how unfair everything is and how they’d destroy you all if only they had the power…

“However, we also recognize that the current political, legal and social conditions that we are in use federal, state and campus legislation to enforce systems of oppression that disproportionately set students of marginalized identities up for failure and exploitation … To see the fruition of the demands that we have brought forward, it is necessary for us to push away from the existing frameworks.”

Be Afraid. Be Very Afraid!!

Border Issues

FLORENCE, AZ (KPHO/KTVK) –

Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu denounced the Obama administration Tuesday, accusing the White House of preventing border agents from enforcing immigration laws.

Babeu, flanked by Border Patrol agents and union leaders, said high-traffic smuggling routes are not appropriately staffed and laid into the administration for failed leadership.

The sheriff denounced the politicization of immigration enforcement at a news conference at PCSO’s Florence headquarters.

National Border Patrol Labor Council President Brandon Judd picked up on that theme, saying the agency is at a crossroads.

“We are either going to be a specialized law enforcement agency dedicated to enforcing our nation’s immigration laws or a political arm of the administration,” Judd said.

He said because the Obama administration failed to convince the American public to pass immigration reform, “the president is bypassing Congress by legislating through policy. These policies in essence are granting amnesty to thousands, if not millions, of persons who enter the country illegally.”

Judd alleged the administration has engaged in a campaign to mislead the American people to believe our borders are secure.

“He (Pres. Obama) has manipulated the data, had agents assigned to low traffic areas and attempted to quiet dissent by calling those who question his approach as misinformed without offering an evidence to support these allegations.”

According to figures Babeu released Tuesday, traffic of illegal immigrants in the first four months of this fiscal year is up by 25 percent. He said there’s been a 102 percent increase in unaccompanied juveniles. Babeu said.

“What we see from this administration is an actual reduction at a time we should be providing more support to secure our border,” Babeu said.

The sheriff then pointed to Border Patrol Commissioner Gil Kerlikowske and said agents “have a leader in Kerlikowske who says if they don’t agree with the Obama administration and this lawlessness that’s happening that they can go find another job.”

“Well, I have a problem with that,” Babeu said.

Babeu said 1,500 Border Patrol agents that are mandated by Congress “that are not being hired and we see a submission of another 300 Border Patrol agents that are being cut.  That’s approaching almost 10 percent of our Border Patrol that is not being added to guard and defend America..”

The sheriff cited terrorist threats as a reason more Border Patrol agents are needed.

“This is a likely avenue of approach for them to come into our unsecure border,” Babeu said. “We should be putting every resource to the border. And instead of threatening the very people who are charged with protecting our country, securing the border, they should be finding ways to further support them.”

Trump Card

I ran across a person dedicated to the Conservative (I wonder about that part)  this weekend on a Conservative Facebook group who is just as slobberingly mindless and just as childish and churlish about people who disagree with him as any Hillary or Bernie zombie is. He even use the same verbiage and manner.

His God is Trump. Trump is the Messiah. And all ‘false gods’ will fall before him.

The most disturbing part of the prolonged encounter this weekend was his fervent, wide-eyed glee for Nationalism.

The strong belief that the interests of a particular nation-state are of primary importance. Also, the belief that a people who share a common language, history, and culture should constitute an independent nation, free of foreign domination.

America for Americans, that kind of thing. Foreigners are bad.

A certain guy named Adolph once used this 80+ years ago. And he doesn’t care.

The problem is, The Republicans did this to themselves and refuse to even recognize it.

This election is the Republican Altamont, where conservatives got knifed by the Hell’s Angels. It’s our own fault too – the GOP teased its base, looked down upon it, lied to it, and when it turned out it wasn’t playing games and pulled a blade the establishment wasn’t ready.

I spent the last few days at CPAC, surrounded by conservatives, and there was a clear preference for focusing on the symptom – Donald Trump and his myriad failings – rather than the disease. Our problem is not this digitally-challenged, bizarrely phallocentric clown; it’s our failure to represent the people left behind as we got ahead.

Donald Trump is the fault of the GOP elite, including movement conservatives, who failed to listen, who failed to follow through, who thought we were meant to lead the benighted past their narrow self-interests and unseemly prejudices to a wonderful new world reflecting our benevolent self-interests and elite prejudices. Funny how the conservative, globalized utopia we sought to impose always worked out really well for us. Except those left behind aren’t laughing.

Trumpism isn’t merely about unfocused anger – it would be super-convenient to write this off as a temper tantrum that will soon blow over and allow us to get back to the business as usual of ignoring the pleas (which are now demands) to stop the immigration disaster, to address the fallout of free trade, and to stop the useless sacrifice of our sons and daughters in wars we’re too damn gutless to win. But it isn’t. Again and again Republicans promised to solve these problems and yet every single time they’ve lied. Rubio got elected in Florida promising to oppose amnesty then not only fails to do so but stands up with the Democrats and did the exact opposite. And we’re surprised a candidate comes along and points that out?

Think of this as, in large part, the struggle between the haves and have nots of globalization. Amnesty was a great idea for bubble people who think illegal immigration satisfies some sort of libertarian ideal, or who only experience its impact by being able to hire a cheaper nanny. It’s a pretty great idea for the illegals too. But leave your nice neighborhood and go where a high school grad who was born here can’t get a job as a roofer since any general contractor who doesn’t hire illegals is going to go broke because his competition will. Tell somebody whose daughter is shot dead in front of him by an illegal who got arrested five times but never got deported that it’s an act of love.

If we had built the damn wall we promised our base back then, we probably wouldn’t have that damn Trump now.

Free trade is great, in a macro sense. It sure helps enrich the donor class. But go tell the guy who lost his $25 an hour job because NAFTA let Carrier move its air conditioning plant to Mexico about Milton Friedman’s “Free to Choose.” What’s he free to choose? Long-term unemployment? Making a fake Social Security disability claim? Or taking a job greeting at Wal-Mart for $8 an hour?

Immigration and free trade are generally good, but they impose real costs and our base is getting handed the bill. These folks have been asking us for help, and what was our response? Shut up, stupid racists. Well, they finally found someone who is taking their side. His name is Donald Trump, and we made him possible. Hell, we made him inevitable.

And we made him a Messiah, so that his followers, like Hillary’s, don’t care one bit about anything that might prick the illusion of Godhood. They are Holy Warriors for the cause.

But hey, talking about the real problem – us – is hard, so let’s focus on peripherals and hope against hope that we can put the Republican Party’s accounting off for another cycle. Let’s talk about Trump’s weird penis fixation, because that’s easier than introspection. Let’s jump on the ridiculous KKK disavowal train or run a picture of people raising their hands and hint it’s a Nazi salute, even though not one of us actually believes Trump supports the KKK or is a Nazi, because maybe we can tar him (and his followers) with charges we damn well know are false and that will let us avoid the reality of our predicament for a little while longer.

The ultimate denial manifests in the idea that the reckoning can somehow be circumvented if Cruz or Rubio or even Cruz /Rubio wins the nomination. Who goes on the ballot to satisfy Trump’s rebels? Not Tiny Hands – no, he’ll never take veep. How do you keep the huge numbers of voters motivated by Trump and his willingness to at least talk big about taking the left-behinds’ side from walking? We can’t simply will them and their concerns into silence.

They follow their messiah, or nothing. Then you have just Queen Hillary and her zombies.

Worse, there are those of us who want to go third party.

Aka, the rumors of Mitt Romney jumping into the race to lose it again like he did previously but saving the Elites the ’embarrassment’ of Trump.

So, let’s play this out. Trump’s people win the nomination fair and square and then are told, yet again, “No, you still don’t get to win. Sure, you played by the rules, like you always do, but when we elitists saw the outcome, we changed the rules to make sure we won, as we always do.” Good plan. That’ll end well.

Sounds very Hillary-esque, doesn’t it? Very Power Broker. Very Elite.

The Republican Party is a round hole and its base is a square peg. They no longer fit together, and there has to be a reckoning. Change must come. Political history students are going to be reading about this seismic shift in decades to come, assuming the world doesn’t end in fire and blood. And do not think the Democrats are in any less trouble – we just aren’t seeing the fractures and the fissures in Team Donk thanks to a mainstream media that won’t report them and DNC superdelegate rules that have ensured the fix is in for Hillary.

Individual conservatives have every moral right to act on their principles and refuse to vote for an unprincipled, unconservative individual. Though I intend to vote for the GOP nominee, each new round of appalling idiocy by that vulgar human troll doll tests my resolve. But as much as we wish to focus on the flawed messenger, the problem is that we have refused to heed the message he has adopted (and which I have little doubt he will abandon if elected). It’s not the illegals who are living in the shadows; it’s our own base, the guys and gals who got the short end of the globalization stick. The vast majority of Trump’s supporters are good people who we have let down, and as free agents in the political free market they have found someone who saw a need and is filling it.

They aren’t going away; we need to reintegrate them. To bring them back into the GOP is going to require us to examine our ivory tower policy preferences as well as our prejudices about our own base – and it’s going to require us to start keeping our word. We had no sympathy for the plight of the base, and that’s why now we have the devil. (Kurt Schlichter)

People, Elites especially, can be very frightened of change…

CPAC Cruz

Constitutional conservative Ted Cruz  was interrupted by numerous standing ovations during a powerful CPAC address on Friday before an energized crowd, a fiery speech delivered without notes or teleprompter.

“So, Donald Trump is skipping CPAC,” Cruz said in his opening sentence, causing a roar of boos directed towards Trump, who announced that he would be skipping out on his scheduled speaking spot on Saturday. “I think somebody told him Megyn Kelly was going to be here. Or even worse, he was told there were conservatives that were going to be here,” he said to raucous applause. “Now, none of you have a degree from Trump University,” Cruz joked, taking a jab at the bloviating billionaire and reality TV actor who is being sued for fraud by 5,000 former students who believe they were scammed.

“The men and women here are a grassroots army,” Cruz told the CPAC audience. “The men and women here love liberty. And let me tell you, as dire as things are, people are waking up all over this country. And help is on the way!” he shouted to loud cheers.

Ted Cruz contended that the election is about three main topics; jobs, liberty and security.

“It’s easy to talk about making America great again,” Cruz said, taking a shot at Trump’s often repeated campaign slogan. “You can even print that on a baseball cap. But the question is, do you understand the principles that made America great in the first place?”

“The heart of the economy is not Washington, D.C.; it is not New York City, the heart of the economy are small businesses all over this country,” Cruz said. “You want to hammer the economy? Crush small businesses like we’ve done the last seven years. And if you want to unchain the economy, lift the boot of the federal government off the backs of the necks of small businesses,” Cruz proclaimed.

Ted Cruz directly addressed the anger and frustration felt by Republican voters who have been let down by politicians who say one thing to get elected, but upon arriving in Washington, immediately begin breaking their promises and not fighting for the issues they told voters they would fight for.

“Now, I understand that a lot of people in this country are angry. I get being angry — I’m angry too. For far too long politicians in both parties have lied to us. They make promises on the trail then they go to Washington and they don’t do what they said.”

Cruz said that there’s no example of this than the hot-button issue of immigration, which he calls a law enforcement, a national security and an economic issue, saying when you allow 12 million illegal aliens in the country, you take jobs away from American citizens and it also has the effect of driving down wages.

“There’s a natural question to ask during the Gang of Eight battle — Where was Donald? Donald was funding the Gang of Eight. He gave over $50,000 to five of the eight members of the Gang of Eight. And last night, Donald’s on stage promised all of us to be ‘flexible’…Flexible is code word in Washington, D.C., for ‘They’re getting ready to stick it to you.”

(ed: which also included Marco Rubio)

Cruz promised to repeal “every word of Obamacare,” implement a flat tax and abolish the IRS, rein in the federal regulators, stop amnesty, and secure the borders. He asserted that the economy would drastically improve with more and better-paying jobs.

He spent considerable time talking about the importance of replacing Justice Scalia with a principled constitutionalist and warned that America is only one liberal Supreme Court justice away from losing much of the First and Second Amendment.

The riled-up crowd gave Ted Cruz perhaps his loudest applause and longest standing ovation when he announced his attitude toward the nation of Israel, an issue where Donald Trump has said he would be neutral between America’s strongest ally in the Middle East and Palestinian terrorists.

“As president, I have no intention of staying neutral. America will stand unapologetically with the nation of Israel,” Cruz shouted, seemingly at the top of his voice.

After Ted Cruz’s 2016 CPAC speech, he took several questions from FOX News’ Sean Hannity and said that he agreed with Bernie Sanders on one issue, that the relationship between big business and the government is corrupt, but disagrees with the solution.

“If the problem is that government is corrupt, the answer isn’t more government,” Cruz said.

Cruz then explained the differences between how the economy performed under Ronald Reagan vs. Barack Obama.

“Reaganomics: You start a business in your parent’s garage. Obamanomics: You move into your parent’s garage.”

Government Advice

You know with Liberals Government is God. And God is the only one who should be giving the masses advice. After all, the Government wants to take over your retirement anyhow. See Guaranteed Retirement Accounts. We all know the Government is far better at managing our own money than we are. Social Security proved that, right?

The Government only has your best interests at heart, right? They are compassionate and fair, unlike evil capitalists… right? 🙂

Popular financial radio show host Dave Ramsey caused a firestorm on Twitter last week when he weighed in against the “fiduciary rule”—the controversial pending Department of Labor regulation that would impose new restrictions on a vast swath of financial professionals who handle IRAs and 401(k) accounts. Yet, Ramsey was only echoing concerns about the costs of the rule already expressed by Members of Congress from both parties.

Ramsey Tweeted, “this Obama rule will kill the Middle Class and below ability to access personal advice.” A war of Tweets then broke out between opponents of the rule, and supporters, the latter of which includes fee-based investment advisers expected to benefit from the new costs the rule will shower on their broker competitors.

Fittingly, even before Ramsey came out against the rule, one of his critics called for using the rule against Ramsey, supposedly for providing advice said critic deemed harmful to savers. In an October article in LifeHealthPro, an online trade journal for insurance agents and financial advisers, Michael Markey, an insurance agent and owner of Legacy Financial Network, called for Ramsey to “be regulated and to be held accountable” by the government for the opinions he gives to listeners. Markey hailed the Labor Department rule as ushering a new era in which “entertainers like Dave Ramsey can no longer evade the pursuit of regulatory oversight.”

Isn’t self-interest and greed wonderful. Now, like people who disagree with the Global Warming crowd, called childishly “deniers”, now if you’re giving financial advice for free you’re an “entertainer”. So let’s get the Government involved, that’s “fair”.

Mind you we have a Fee-based Investment adviser here in Phoenix who has weekly radio show. So is he an “entertainer” too?

Experts both for and against the rule I have talked to agree its broad reach could extend to financial media personalities who offer tips to individual audience members, a group that includes not just Ramsey but TV hosts like Suze Orman and Jim Cramer, as well as many other broadcasters who opine on business and investment matters. They would be ensnared by the rule’s broad redefinition of a vast swath of financial professionals as “fiduciaries” and its mandate that these “fiduciaries” only serve the “best interest” of IRA and 401(k) holders.

Again, the Government doesn’t understand the difference  (Between Fiduciary and Non-Fiduciary) and doesn’t care because it’s what THEY want, for what ever narcissist jackass reason. Remember, Government is your friend. You trust them….:)

The main focus of the Labor Department rule has been its likely effects on brokers and their customers. The rule creates a presumption against brokers taking third-party commissions from mutual funds they sell to savers.

Their evil narcissistic prey-oriented capitalists? Just like Government. 🙂

Because of this, savers who currently pay only a small commission on the execution of an order may have to pay a much larger fee based on a percentage of their assets, which would drive some brokers to simply stop serving middle-income investors.

Government “care” in action.

As I note in a new report for the Competitive Enterprise Institute, similar restrictions in Great Britain have caused a “guidance gap” in which brokers have largely stopped serving brokers with assets less than £150,000 ($240,000).

Only “evil” rich people should get advice on how to make more money out of their money. Everyone else should just depend on Mama Government and Big Brother for their daily bread.

But the potential chilling effect of this rule on free financial discussion in the media is even more frightening. Kent Mason, a partner at the law firm Davis & Harman who has testified before Congress on the ill effects of the fiduciary rule, strongly disagrees with Markey that Ramsey and others should be shut up. But, worryingly, he says Markey is mostly right in his interpretation of the fiduciary rule’s ability to muzzle financial personalities.

“Under the proposed regulation, investment advice from a radio host to a caller regarding the caller’s own investment issues would appear to be fiduciary advice if the advice addresses specific investments,” Mason said in an email. It doesn’t matter that Ramsey and other hosts aren’t compensated by listeners, he adds, as the DOL rule explicitly covers those who give investment advice and receive compensation “from any source.” Mason agrees with Markey that the compensation Ramsey receives from radio stations that carry his show and from book sales are enough to define Ramsey as a “fiduciary” under the rule.

Though the rule does contain an exemption for “recommendations made to the general public,” this wouldn’t protect Ramsey and other radio and television personalities if they gave specific answers to callers or audience members, argue both Mason and Markey. Similarly, Mason adds, while the main part of investment seminars would be exempt, “if during the seminar, someone from the audience asks a question about his or her situation and the speaker answers the question with respect to specific investments, that answer would be fiduciary advice.”

Such limits on financial discussion may seem to violate the First Amendment on its face. But a lawsuit against such restrictions would not be a slam dunk, as this is largely uncharted legal territory. Courts have tread lightly on financial regulation that may harm free speech. In Lowe v. SEC, 472 U.S. 181 (1985), the Supreme Court did strike down a ban by the Securities and Exchange Commission on an investment newsletter published by a convicted felon. But the opinion did not touch upon constitutional issues, as the Court ruled that the law itself – different from the Employee Retirement Income Security Act that governs the Labor Department – applied only to person-to-person, rather than general, advice.

To my knowledge, there has never been a federal court ruling on whether restrictions on financial advice offered to individuals in a public forum would violate the First Amendment. In any event, even if this aspect of the rule were eventually ruled unconstitutional, it may take years before such cases wind their way through the courts, and the free flow of financial discussion would be chilled until such a ruling occurs.

All the more reason for the Labor Department to withdraw the fiduciary rule as written. If it does not do so, Congress must perform its fiduciary duty to the American people and throw out this regulation that is definitely not in savers’ “best interest.” (John Berlau, Forbes).

But it’s The Governments and the it’s “supporters” “Best Interest”. 🙂

The Hillary Campaign

I found the perfect campaign manager for Hillary.

He’s the Perfect Liar for The Liar Supreme.

Someone who was a big star back in the day. So he has mass appeal.

That sounds like Liberal economics doesn’t it? 🙂

Oh, and in case you think this was an original idea…:)

From 2008, ABC News…

So now the Clinton campaign has taken it to the next level, taking it to the airwaves with their patently false twisting of Barack Obama’s words. . (Listen to the ad HERE).

“Listen to Barack Obama last week talking about Republicans,” the announcer says.

“The Republicans were the party of ideas for a pretty long chunk of time there over the last 10, 15 years,” Obama says.

“Really?” says the announcer. “Aren’t those the ideas that got us into the economic mess we’re in today? Ideas like special tax breaks for Wall Street. Running up a $9 trillion debt. Refusing to raise the minimum wage or deal with the housing crisis. Are those the ideas Barack Obama’s talking about?”

“The Republicans were the party of ideas,” Obama says again.

“Hillary Clinton thinks this election is about replacing disastrous Republican ideas with new ones, like jumpstarting the economy,” says the announcer. “Putting an immediate freeze on foreclosures and mortgages. Cutting taxes for the middle class. and creating millions of new jobs. With the economy in crisis, we need a president with the ideas, the solutions that get America working for all of us. Hillary Clinton. Solutions for America.”

At this point, the Clintons obviously know and don’t care that this is a blatantly false representation of what Obama said, which doesn’t square with the video or transcript of what Obama said.

This has been tirelessly fact-checked by us, the Washington Post, Factcheck.org, Politico, and Politifact.

With unanimity, the charge has been established as false.

And yet the Clintons continue to make it.

Hilarious isn’t it. 🙂 ABC leaping to the defense of their guy, Presidential Hopeful Barack Hussein Obama being attacked by The Once & Future Queen in 2008.

Sound at all familiar??

So I’m just keeping it all in the family. 🙂

Hard Truth

Matt Walsh:

We all know that American universities have become places of intense psychological indoctrination. We also know that kids often go into college malleable, immature, and oversensitive, and come out even more malleable, immature, and oversensitive. We all read the stories about college kids constantly having conniption fits whenever confronted with words, opinions, and ideas that upset them. Indeed, only on a modern American college campus could you find actual adults unironically demanding “safe spaces” and the like.

I still find self-imposed segregation hilarious though.

But I think there’s a deeper reason for the epidemic of wimpiness in our universities and in my generation as a whole. I think it stems from the idea that we as individuals are supreme, and as the supreme beings in the universe, our feelings and thoughts should be the primary concern of everyone else. In this view of things — the progressive view — I am the greatest, most important, most special creature in all of creation, and everyone and everything else is secondary. It stands to reason that, as a god among mortals, my emotions ought to be the top priority in the world.

Homo Superior Liberalis.

I wrote this to help dispel that notion. There are three hard truths — all centered around this faulty belief — that I attempt to very delicately and diplomatically explain here. But the first and most important is that your feelings aren’t nearly as important as you think. Of all the things a young adult should learn, that might be the most crucial lesson of all:

And I would add when your a Senior Citizen and you’ve “earned it” by still being here after decades that your feelings are STILL not the most important thing on Earth.

Some Liberals never grow up.

As Michael Brandon once said in character on the British Tv show (imagine an American on a British Tv show) Dempsey and Makepeace – “Life is hard, and then you die.”

I’m assured that, on occasion, learning still happens on college campuses.

But the Diversity and Inclusion Police are working overtime to make sure this stops as soon as possible.

I have not detected any evidence of this, but I accept it as a matter of faith. People I trust have assured me that universities are not just bastions of cultish indoctrination — there’s a lot of sex and beer pong, too. But sometimes, I’m informed, a rebellious student might endeavor to adsorb an actual fact or piece of knowledge. Again, I cannot independently confirm this shocking claim.

It would be extraordinary. 🙂

These rogue learners aside, it’s obvious that college is often a place where students go to erase from their minds any trace of truth or common sense. Supplanted in its place is a dreamscape of “white privilege” and “systematic racism” and “non-binary gender” and “patriarchy” and “transgenderism” and leprechauns and climate change and other fictional phenomena. Central to this fantasy world is always me. Not me, specifically, but the Great Me, the Mighty Me, the Universal Me.

Not this Me.

The Almighty Me. Where I am the Center of The Universe and the Universe shall bow down before ME and do what I want them to do.

The primary lesson kids learn in college and in our culture is that they, personally, individually, are primary. Their thoughts, ideas, and (especially) feelings are the most important things in existence, and all of existence ought to bend to their whim. If they feel sad, the world must make them happy. If they say something, the world must listen. If they believe something to be true, the world must play along.

That’s the ticket. Narcissism 101.

We could spend all day talking about the lies kids are taught in college and in society at large, but this, the primacy of their own emotions and beliefs, is the most damaging. I thought, then, it might be a good idea to run down a list of three basic, uncomfortable, common sense truths, for the benefit of these college students (and everyone else). One day I hope to put these in a speech and deliver them at a college graduation ceremony, but I haven’t been invited to do that, so for now I’ll just leave them here:

1. Nobody Cares About Your Feelings

Now, there are some exceptions to this rule. Hopefully your mom cares about your feelings. Maybe your grandmother too, and your therapist as long as you’re paying him. But, despite what you’ve been told, the general population of Earth is not overly concerned with your emotional state.

Shutterstock

That’s not to say everyone is cruel and heartless – although many people are, and sometimes they end up as your landlord or your boss — but nobody considers protecting your feelings to be a terribly important project. Nobody wakes up in the morning determined to make sure you feel happy and satisfied. Everyone has a list of priorities in their life, and your feelings are not at the top of anyone’s list. They’re not even at the top of your mother’s list, and if she’s a really good mother she already made that clear to you when you were a child.

Personally, I don’t want you to feel bad and sad and depressed and forlorn, but it is not my job or my priority to prevent you from feeling that way. And if reality, facts, and truth give you a tummy ache, then I will purposefully hurt your feelings, not for the sake of hurting them, but for the sake of forcing the bitter, scary, beautiful, glorious pill of truth down your throat. It will be for your own good. If I could chop the truth up and feed it to you in your applesauce like I do with my kids when they’re sick, I would. But you can’t take a dose of truth that way. When you mix applesauce with truth, you end up with a diluted truth, and a diluted truth is no truth at all.

This is an important point because we live in a society where everyone seems to think their feelings should be the prerogative of everyone they meet. This is especially true on college campuses, where students often insist they be let off the hook from assignments and responsibilities because their academic duties make them feel anxious. College students are not afraid to announce their hurt feelings to the world, as if that fact is somehow relevant to any of us. Of course, your delusion in this regard is understandable, considering how universities have turned hurt feelings into a criminal matter.

It has been proven scientifically that emotions can override reason and logic, so the best way for Liberals to be and to want to make more of themselves is to make you obsessed with your “feelings” and to make everything emotional. It works. Look at the Democrats.

That sort of coddling and pampering leads to stories… where a millennial employee at Yelp posted an open letter to her CEO demanding a raise. She complained about her difficult life as an entry level worker, and said she can’t improve her position because she feels too stressed. This, she was quite sure, should be the concern of her employer. Well, her employer disagreed and fired her instead.

As I learn everyday at work, your boss and their boss, and their boss, etc don’t give a shit what you think. No matter what they say in platitude, they really don’t care. It’s their buisiness and they are going to do it their way, and so are you. Period. End of Discussion.

That’s kind of hilarious to most of us, but terrifying to people who’ve gotten used to getting their way when they cry loudly enough. Children learn this strategy from the moment of birth and many find it successful all the way into their 20s. Eventually, though, the gravy train must come to a halt.

Which is Liberals always sound like whiny 2 year olds. 🙂

These days, we think our feelings entitle us to an infinite smorgasbord of perks and privileges. We think our feelings ought to be the primary driving force of not only our own lives, but the lives of everyone around us. And we think wrong. Indeed, nobody cares about your feelings nearly as much as you do, and you shouldn’t really care about them all that much either. Feelings follow action, so go out and do things, and keep doing them, and over time you’ll discover that your feelings don’t have a stranglehold on your life. Once you figure that out, you’ll stop expecting them to have a stranglehold on everyone else.

But you’ll be a lousy Liberal. 🙂

2. Nobody Has To Take Your Opinions Seriously

Again with the aforementioned exceptions of your mom, your grandmother, and maybe your friends. But probably not all of your friends because most of your friends aren’t actually friends, especially if your friendship has been thus far predicated on a common enthusiasm for not being sober. You may have two or three friends who truly, intimately care about you and your thoughts. Hardly anybody has more real friends than that, and most have fewer or none at all.

As for the rest of us, we don’t care what you think until you give us a reason to care, and even then we don’t care that much. It’s fine if you have opinions, but you can’t expect everyone to stop what they’re doing and take your opinion into account just because you voiced it.

Unless you’re a Democrat or a Liberal, especially one with any power at all. Then you think you’re King Obama or Queen-To-Be Hillary.

Shutterstock

This is a really important point because we’re living in a culture where everyone walks around constantly declaring “I have a right to an opinion.” And you do have a right to an opinion, but the problem with that statement is that it doesn’t mean anything. You could be a peasant living in a North Korean slum and you’d still have the right to an opinion, in the sense that nobody could stop you from formulating one (although they might execute you with an anti-aircraft missile if you say it out loud).

You see, when most people say they have a “right to an opinion” what they really mean, in context, is they have a right to have their opinions listened to and respected. But you have no such right, and the unfortunate reality is that, out of the 60 or 70 trillion opinions voiced in America every day, about 99 percent of them are not remotely worthy of attention, much less respect.

It’s that whole “consensus” thing that Liberal groupthink throws around.

If you want your thoughts to be regarded just because they’re your thoughts, talk to your mom, or get married and talk to your spouse. If you want your thoughts to be regarded by total strangers in the general population, you have to develop a reputation as a thoughtful, intelligent person who possesses insight and wisdom. Nobody considers you insightful and wise just because you graduated college. In fact, they probably assume the opposite.

Nowadays, when you tell someone you went to college, they preemptively roll their eyes because they assume you’re about to say something idiotic that will probably include the term ”cisgender” or “heteronormative” or “cultural appropriation” or whatever. There used to be a certain prestige attached to college. Now people look at you like you just escaped a doomsday commune, which isn’t very far from the truth.

You’re going to have to prove that your thoughts are relevant and valuable. Nobody will give you the benefit of the doubt on that front, I’m afraid.

3. It’s Your Fault If You’re Offended

Think of the phrase: “I take offense.” Take. That’s a verb. An action. You have taken offense. You weren’t given it or subjected to it or forced into it, you took it. You sifted through whatever was said, whatever idea or concept you were exposed to, and took offense from it. You didn’t have to. You chose it.

You could have reached into the comment and taken something else: insight, humor, cookies. Well, probably not cookies, but if you dig deeper you might find something other than a reason to be so indignant and insufferable all the time.

But it make YOU feel so good and so Superior. 🙂

Somewhere along the line we started operating under the assumption that it’s the job of the speaker to control the way in which the hearer receives his words. We decided that if the hearer receives them negatively – even if they were not meant negatively, even if it’s merely the hearer’s opinion that the message is negative or insulting — it’s the fault of the speaker. The speaker must now apologize for how you interpreted or processed what he said.

That would be Political Correctness. The Victim is always right. 🙂

Shutterstock

Think, for example, of the controversy surrounding the Redskins. Everyone knows that nobody currently associated with the Redskins organization actually intends the name to be some kind of racist jab at Indians. It’s just a name. It’s a word that, in modern times, means only “the name of the professional football team in Washington, D.C.” Nobody uses it in any other context. The intent behind the word is entirely harmless and innocent. But a few people have declared that they find it offensive, and that’s supposed to carry weight with the rest of us. The answer for these offended folks — and for anyone else who takes offense at things that aren’t supposed to be offensive — is simply to stop being offended.

It’s like I have a pet peeve about people eating cream cheese bagels around me. It’s the weirdest thing. I just get annoyed about how people eat bagels. I can’t quite explain it. Maybe I suffered some kind of bagel related trauma as a child, I don’t know. The point is, it’s not your problem that I get annoyed when you eat a bagel in my presence.  It’s a perfectly innocent thing to do. I don’t get to make rules about the food you consume in my vicinity just because I’m a disturbed and insane person. So you go on eating your bagels, and I’ll just have to deal with it. In similar fashion, people will go on using words you might not like, and you’ll just have to deal with it. Your linguistic aversions are not their problem.

Now, obviously there are times when a person intends to offend, but still in those cases it is your decision if you allow the person’s words to cause you grief. People say awful things to me all the time but I choose not to be offended, usually. Here and there I do choose to be offended, especially when some sniveling, anonymous troll responds to my opinions by attacking my children or my wife (which happens approximately 87 times a day, because people are awful, which is another lesson you should learn in a hurry), but I can’t really do anything with the offense I’ve taken.

I just stew in it for a while and then I’m forced to move on with my day. Taking offense accomplished nothing. I’m left just standing there holding it with nowhere to put it. I can try to take my offense to a pawn shop and trade it for a pair of rollerblades, or deposit it in the bank so it can accrue interest over time, but I’ll find that my offense is even more worthless to other people that it is to me. My only choice is to drop it and continue living my life.

I think dropping it and living your life is generally a profitable skill, and not one they teach in college. Then again, they don’t really teach any skills, so that’s not surprising.

There are other hard truths, but we don’t have the space to explain them here. A honorable mentions list would include:

4. Nobody will take you seriously if you try to lecture them about their “privilege.”

5. Nobody will take you seriously if you call yourself a feminist.

6. Nobody will take you seriously if you ever unironically use the phrase “safe space.”

7. Nobody will take you seriously if you ever admit in public that you took a class on “gender theory.”

And I could go on, but I don’t want to overwhelm you. Let’s start with the first three and work from there.

Yes, these are hard truths, but the truth is rarely easy. And that’s probably the hardest and most important truth of all.

You are not the Center of The Universe. You are Not the most important being that is a alive or has ever been alive. Your views on life are not the paramount importance of the Universe and God’s Sake if I hear, “But that not what I want…” I will gladly tell you I don’t care.

Suck it up, Buttercup. No one really cares.

Econ 101

America’s 18- to 34-year-old “millennials” have been tutored in group-think schools that extol socialism. Now they lionize Bernie Sanders, whose class-warfare prescriptions include taxing away all but maybe 1% of the nation’s 0.0001% billionaires’ wealth, then going after Wall Street, Big Business, millionaires and upper middle classes – and giving the “revenue” to those who “need” or “deserve” it more.

The entire process revolves around three central questions. Which ruling class elites get to determine who loses, who wins, by how much? Who grants them the power to do so, and holds them accountable? And what happens when the inevitable discontent over their autocratic decisions boils over?

Interestingly, many of the same generation have flocked to see films that glorify individual liberty and defiance of centralized government control. InThe Hunger Games, a few small gestures of disobedience grew into a revolution against Capital elites who lived well and ruled imperiously, while subjugated masses in the Districts starved in poverty and sent their children to die in televised “hunting games.”

In Divergent, a Faction system preserves a society that primarily benefits the ruling Erudites by stifling individuality. The heroes and heroines refuse to confine their lives and ambitions to only one of the other four factions in which they were placed at age sixteen. Again, the ruling class lives far better than the ruled masses. (Ponder the politicians, bureaucrats and lobbyists in counties around Washington, DC.)

Are so many millennials really willing to let ruling classes confiscate wealth, impose penalties, determine appropriate welfare payments, and dole out favors? Has their “education” made them incapable of understanding the blessings of liberty, free enterprise capitalism, reliable and affordable fossil fuel energy, and entrepreneurial opportunities? Have instructors so brilliantly presented socialism through rose-colored glasses that young voters are blissfully unaware of its abject failures and horrid excesses?

Are millennials perhaps a little schizophrenic – loving liberty in theory and celluloid, but content to live reality in the Districts, among the Amity and Abnegation Factions, while enjoying the bread and circuses (welfare payments and show trials for humbled banker and corporate bigwigs) bestowed upon them? Or perhaps they simply assume they will be among the Capital’s Erudite and Candor classes, governing the rest of America, in the name of justice, fairness, diversity and equality?

They clearly view free or low-cost college tuition, child care, healthcare, food and housing – along with “living wages” of $15 per hour for entry-level jobs … and six-figure incomes after college – as “constitutional rights.” But when they “feel the Bern,” have they pondered how this system must necessarily work in the Real World, where they will feel the actual burn?

As the late Southern Baptist pastor and author Adrian Pierce Rogers succinctly explained, the hard reality is that “government cannot give anything to anybody that it doesn’t first take from somebody else. What one person receives without working for another person must work for without receiving.”

That is precisely what Senator Sanders’ wealth taxation and redistribution scheme proposes to do. The problem, as former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher astutely observed, “is that eventually you run out of other people’s money.” Even in the wealthy United States, “eventually” would come quickly, because socialism destroys the incentive to work, innovate, invest, take risks and create new wealth.

Ultimately, nations are left with a large and growing population of have-nots who demand more – when there is no “more” to be had. That is whatItaly, Greece, Portugal, Spain, Argentina, Brazil, Cuba, Venezuela and other socialist, populist, egalitarian paradises are now discovering.

They used to provide all kinds of free stuff. Today they are basket cases – struggling with anemic growth, recession and bankruptcy. Their government bonds have turned to “junk” that no sane investor wants.

Today, 59% of young Greeks are unemployed. Youth unemployment is 56% in Spain, 42% in Italy, 38% in Portugal. In Brazil, electricity rates soared 51% last year, food prices rose 15% and overall inflation stood at 11% – a vast improvement over its 5000% annual inflation rate (!) in the early 1990s but still awful. In all of Latin America, only Argentina at 27% and Venezuela at 200% had worse inflation.

American students are immersed in “sustainability” studies and projects, mostly based on still persistent notions that we are running out of essential resources and destroying Planet Earth. Those ideas are the foundation of policies and regulations that perpetuate what really is unsustainable: unemployment, government spending, anti-growth policies, and the anger and unrest they cause.

It may be, as Winston Churchill once observed, that “the inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of the blessings.” However, he continued, “the inherent blessing of socialism is the equal sharing of misery and scarcity.” Unfortunately, simple, basic truths like this are rarely taught in our schools.

Students today want equality of outcomes, rather than of opportunities that yield positive outcomes by dint of hard work. If millennials applied their socialist principle to grades – with all scores on exams and projects averaged out among smart and less talented, hard-working and deadbeat students – shiftless classmates would be happy to coast along, once ambitious scholars would exert far less effort, and all would soon flounder in a sea of F’s.

Similarly, socialist policies stifle the innovation, economic growth and job creation that young people need if they are to get beyond minimum-wage service jobs, and out of their parents’ basements.

Free tuition? City University of New York had that for awhile, until 1976, when it ran out of money and the city nearly went bankrupt. Even Sanders admits his plan would cost some $750 billion over ten years. But perhaps it would work if half of the administrative positions were eliminated, faculty salaries got a 25 or 35% trimming, and sabbaticals came just once a decade.

Surely the “progressives” who rule our campuses – and try to ban and silence speakers like Ben Shapiro – would support this “pro-free-stuff” approach. Surely, the next generation of Erudite and Candor classes in The Capital would be content with salaries that are no higher than those of the masses they govern.

Moreover, the bills must eventually be paid. Millennials may get free stuff today. But they and their children and grandchildren will pay for their freebies many times over, through higher taxes, increasing control over their lives, higher inflation, fewer jobs at reduced salaries, and lower living standards.

Then there is the matter of accountability. Government is very good at fining and jailing citizens and businessmen for violating any of the thousands of regulations that carry criminal sanctions, even if the “perpetrator” did not intend to violate the rule or had no clue that such a rule could possibly exist. But government expects and demands that its own incompetent or criminal actions be ignored.

Thus a rancher is prosecuted for “terrorism” for accidentally burning 139 acres of national forests, but government officials get off scot free when they torch 160,000 acres a couple miles away. Citizens go to prison for inadvertently “impacting” a wetland, but EPA bureaucrats receive “get out of jail free” cards when they deliberately open an abandoned mine and unleash 3,000,000 gallons of toxic sludge. IRS directors simply “take the Fifth” after targeting conservative groups, an OPM director resigns rather than testify before Congress about her screw-ups, and VA incompetence is ignored – while private citizens are hounded and threatened until they cave in or run out of money to defend themselves.

The more government control and socialist wealth redistribution we get, the worse these abuses become. Will the Bernie Sanders voters demand accountability? Or do they simply not care when ruling elites and fellow socialists violate laws and abuse their public trust, to advance agendas or protect themselves?

All these questions would make for very interesting discussions with socialist candidates and voters. (Townhall)

Dear Dumbasses

I keep forgetting that I’m doing my blogs after work… 🙂

Dear Whiners who want the government to have more power so you feel “safer,”

Idiots like you who simply fall for whatever line you’ve been fed are jeopardizing our freedoms. All of our freedoms. Because you’re wimps. Allow me to explain.

Today I was looking at a HuffPo article about the Apple vs. FBI debacle. The article tries desperately to pass itself off as reasonable. Problem is it’s HuffPo, so I wasn’t fooled. The article opens with this:

Apple’s decision to challenge a federal court order to help the FBI “hack” into a shooting suspect’s iPhone 5C is drawing into focus a battle which has been brewing for the past several years.

The way this debate has been shaped thus far is, as follows: which do we value more, privacy or security?

Firstly, let’s talk some facts about the incident in question. The government FUBARed what happened in San Bernardino. We’ve already documented a lot of it, so lemme break it down here: terrorists were allowed into the country. They killed 14 people. The local authorities got access to the iPhone belonging to Farook. They effed it up by trying to access it, thereby resetting the phone. Now the FBI is demanding Apple write software which will undermine the security of all iPhones to get into “that specific phone.” And if you believe the FBI will only use that new software to access that one phone, you were born in a land before toilet paper.

Before you nuclear turd bombs say “But, but, the FBI needs access for US TO BE SAFE…”

ManCryingwithMascarra

Don’t. Spare me your spineless, weak, desperate attempts to sound intelligent. You’re a wimp. If you’re a man and you are siding with the government over this iPhone debacle, you’re without testicles. Which is convenient for your skinny jean-wearing ways. If you’re a woman, you’re probably a feminist. There’s no hope for either of you. I’m merely writing this post to expose just how pathetic you are. Trigger-warning: comparisons to bodily functions abound.

Here’s the deal: Yes, the government has a responsibility to keep the nation safe. But when it comes to the FBI vs. Apple, we’re well past safety. The government did not keep us safe. Proof? The terrorists were let into the country in the first place and they killed people. Also, our borders are as effective as a strainer is at holding water. If you think gaining access to all iPhones is the best solution to keep the country safe…

Here’s where all of you butt wiping-ninnies are missing the point: You think it’s about a phone. Wrong.

This is about a much bigger issue that begins with privacy and ends with freedom, the phone is just the vehicle. Let me try to illustrate my point. Your phone is an extension of you. Yes, this might sound silly, but bear with me for a second. Your smart phone has more than your photos. It has your financial information. It may have an app for your bank. It contains personal conversations with your friends, family, co-workers. It is a map giving you directions. It knows where you have been and where you are going. It can track your health, it reminds you of your tasks, it contains a schedule of your life. It knows who you call, who you have called, who you plan on calling. Your phone is an extension of you.

What the FBI wants is the ability to access that phone, which Apple built to be secure. If you’re dumb enough to say “well don’t keep anything on your phone you don’t want shared with the world…”

Maybe, but I'm not that far off.

I volunteer you as tribute. Why stop at just the phone? Just let them into your house. If you don’t want the world seeing embarrassing things, don’t keep them in your house. You never know, one day the FBI might need to come in without a warrant. Your freedom, your privacy, is subject to the safety of the collective…as deemed by you.

That’s the real, bigger issue here. Safety vs. Freedom. It’s sadly a point that is lost on many who focus on a problem that isn’t the actual problem.

Are you seeing the bigger picture or you trying to figure out if the trees are poplars or pine?

You see, having freedom doesn’t always mean having safety. Yes, sometimes the world is a scary place. Sometimes when the government fails at what it’s required to do, like keep the nation safe from other nations or, in this case, terrorists who seek to do us harm, it’s easy to give up your rights in hopes you can sleep safely at night. But that’s how we lose our freedom. It’s been done countless times before, just ask any ten year old who’s been patted down by the TSA.

Balls

Having freedom, having privacy, requires personal responsibility. Sometimes that means you protect yourself. That’s why we at LwC love our Second Amendment rights. Which, incidentally, plenty of liberals also say we need to give up for the “safety of the collective.”

Sometimes you are not only responsible for your own finances, but your own safety. The government, after all, is just a collection of elected officials who employ other people and talk to the public with the use of a teleprompter. The government is people like a corporation is people. Except the government people take from the corporate people to finance their crap. Sorry, going down a bunny trail there…

They’re not better at life than you are. Surrendering a little bit of your freedom to these elected officials for a little more safety is insane. Also, “safety” is rarely defined. Put that in your pipe and smoke it before a liberal demands to stop smoking it because it affects them.

Here’s a mental exercise for you to bear in mind if you’re cheering on the FBI vs. Apple: Where’s the line? At what point do you say the government does not have a right to sacrifice your freedom for safety? Today it’s an iPhone, but what will it be tomorrow? Where is your personal line? If you think it’s okay for the government to have a backdoor entrance to iPhones, for terrorists or for you, you must have a personal line in the sand. So what is it? Think about it. For by the time the government has crossed the iPhone line, they’ll queue up to cross your personal line. If you’re willing to let go of freedom now for security later, you’ve already bought into the scam.

I’ll close with this quotation from our Founding Father Benjamin Franklin (often misatributed to Thomas Jefferson): “Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.”

Freedom is Slavery

Brown University. You know, the place where students are whining that they are failing their classes because they are protesting so much…

Fall 2015: “The right to free speech is a protection against the abuse of power, not a guarantee of a platform for all ideas,” a group of students wrote in an op-ed for the Brown Daily Herald.

We are taught to extol the virtues of free speech. White people in particular are taught that our voices are always worth being heard. When we believe in free speech, we do so because it works in our favor. The problem is that freedom of speech is not a universal reality. Free speech assumes a level playing field among speakers that does not exist. Power always affects interactions and what people can and do say in the context of a given relationship, institution or society. In this case, at an elite, predominantly white university, race and class are inseparable from any social interaction, let alone the curation of content in an established campus publication.

These arguments for free speech are often deployed to silence voices of color. Colonial histories of civility aside, calling for “civil discourse” implies that expressions of pain and anger by people of color are not civil and have no place in the conversation.

Censorship is the exercise of power to suppress challenges to the status quo. People of color calling attention to racism does not constitute an overbearing power structure that will limit free speech. The oppressed by definition cannot censor their oppressor. (Brown U)

This is your future. Idiocy as “sensitive” “moral” “standards”. Ignorance as Strength.

Isn’t it just grand. 🙂

Far more pernicious is the self-censorship that is promoted at many campuses that may fear ending up in the media spotlight should students protest. For instance, after Brown University students prevented former New York Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly from speaking, many other campuses may simply decide that it is not worth the trouble to bring a speaker to campus who is associated with controversial police practices (in Kelly’s case, “stop and frisk”). This silent fear is potentially crippling free speech.

“Free expression for me but not for you” is simple hypocrisy. However, deeper forces are also at work. (USA Today)

Last fall, the student groups held an outdoor event displaying posters with examples of expression that had been censored on campuses across the country. Three other students filed formal complaints, claiming that some of the posters were “offensive” and “triggering.” In response, USC served Abbott with a “Notice of Charge” letter and launched an investigation for “discrimination,” threatening him with punishment up to and including expulsion for his protected speech.

Abbott and the campus chapters of YAL and the College Libertarians are now suing USC for violating their free speech rights.

“The University of South Carolina is so intolerant of free speech that students can’t even talk about free speech,” said Catherine Sevcenko, FIRE’s director of litigation. “Ironically, the university’s current marketing campaign features the slogan ‘No Limits.’ But as Ross and his fellow students learned, that does not extend to their free speech rights.”.

The Futures so Bright I have to wear a muzzle. 🙂

The Zombie Apocolypse

4 years ago I did a blog on Democrats as Zombie and I think it’s time to revisit it.

For all you Republicans and Independents who say “I will never vote for____” because they aren’t pure enough for you consider the alternative.

The Zombie Apocalypse.

The mindless, brainless, all devouring Democrats who will eat your brain and your soul to satisfy their appetite for power in the name of “equality”, “fairness” and “diversity”.

And surely you can’t be against that now can you? 🙂

And they will keep coming like a Zombie Hoard.

Even if someone other than Hillary or Bernie wins The Hoard (including the Media) will keep coming. They will keep pressing. All the evils of the world will be laid at the feet of the Republican. They will take NO responsibility for anything. NOTHING. EVER.

It was all YOUR fault, and always was and always will be. In 2016 it’s still Bush’s fault that Obama (and the RINOs) spent $9 Trillion+ in debt. Though Obama recently blaming it on not passing Universal Government Run Healthcare just shows you how much a Zombie Hoard they are.

They waited 90 years for ObamaCare. They will never let it go. Even if the Republican nullifies it, they will bring it up again at any and ever chance.

They don’t care what you think. They only care what they think. They only care about making you do or think what they want.

Period.

The Zombie Hoard doesn’t care. It wants what it wants when it want and because it wants. End of Story.

And 4 years from now if they lose this year expect to see even more hyperbole about how bad things are no matter how they are. If the Democrats are not in total control of everything and everyone it’s “bad” by universally agreed Zombie groupthink. Reality is not a concept they understand or care about. Perception is reality.

They’ve been at this for decades. They were trying to destroy Reagan when the economy was booming because they got no benefit from that.

It’s all about them.

That’s why they are a Zombie Hoard.

Single-minded to the point of a zombie obsession.

They want Brains. Your Brains. They want them all. And Forever.

There is no reasoning with a Zombie.

Do you think if Hillary gets indicted that the Hillary Zombies will care for even 1/10000000000000th of a second?

Nope.

It’s all a Republican “witch hunt”.

There is compromising with a Zombie. You just get eaten more slowly.

You get a RINO Virus that devours you from the insider. 🙂

They have to be beaten. Then 2 years from now they have to beaten again. And 2 years after that, and 2 years after that, ad infinitum.

Freedom from the Zombie Hoard is eternal vigilance.

And you can’t do that if you let pettiness or pride get in the way. They will just eat you alive.

Pride goeth before a fall.

Look at all the poor schmucks who refused to vote for McCain (who was a lousy candidate and a Major RINO to boot) and thought they’d “teach” the Republican Establishment a lesson or two and we’d get a better candidate in 2012.

We Got Obama, Boehner, and Mitt Romney instead.

The virus was eating you alive.

Then you came back for 2nds in 2012. Mitt wasn’t good enough so you stayed home and Obama won again because the Zombie Media Hoard covered for him.

Look at 2010. The Democrats suffered the worst defeat in 80 years. Does it look like they learned ANYTHING?

Did the Republican Establishment??

As a matter of fact the zombie hoard is even tighter, even more determined than ever. They want it EVEN MORE.

So if we defeat then in 2016 will they go away?

HELL NO!

They will just keep coming back like a remorseless zombie hoard until you are overwhelmed.

Which is why you will have to fight them all of your days, your kids days, and their kids days until the infection is wiped out.

But like any good zombie plaque it only takes 1 to re-ignite it and spread it all over again.

Now you face the real prospect that Donald Trump will be the Republican nominee.

I’m not a fan of Trump. But compared to the other two Socialists I will bet on that risky horse over the evil I do know.

So be careful what you wish for, you just might get it.

So you’re either with The Hoard, or Not. There is no in-between. No squish. No compromise.

The fate of The Supreme Court rests on this election. The next 40 years of The Constitution rests on defeating the Zombie Hoard.

The Zombie Hoard certainly will give you NO quarter. They are relentless. They are ruthless. They are unrelenting. And Forever.

“[…]you don’t have to be Sun freakin Tzu to know that real fighting isn’t about killing or even hurting the other guy, it’s about scaring him enough to call it a day.”
― Max Brooks, World War Z: An Oral History Of The Zombie War

― Max Brooks, World War Z: An Oral History Of The Zombie War

“What it does is illustrate that they can be dealt with. They are hard-core, leftists”–Rush Limbaugh (2012)

Choose Wisely.

RINO Rubio

The Establishment Candidate, Marco Rubio. Their Last Great Hope for NO Change.

John Hawkins: Marco Rubio may not be a squish on most issues, but it doesn’t change the fact that his Gang-of-8 Amnesty Bill is unforgivable.

I know I haven’t forgiven him for it. Or forgotten.

You want a Minority and Conservative, Ted Cruz is your guy. Not this Pseudo-When-I-Need-to-Get-Elected one.

Nobody would be campaigning harder against Marco Rubio today than Marco Rubio back in 2010 when he desperately needed to convince Tea Partiers he was tough on immigration to get elected. You could write a whole article on how bad Rubio’s bill was (In fact, I did), but let me cut to the chase for you.

A)Rubio’s sell-out on immigration was the biggest betrayal of conservatives since George Bush’s dad said, “Read my lips, no new taxes” and then raised taxes. How do you trust Rubio on any issue after he so blatantly lied on immigration? Rubio running for President today is like Benedict Arnold running for President in 1788.

California has 605,000 Illegal Voters!! Just in California. They are Illegal because the Liberals gave them Driver’s Licenses. And what do you need to Vote? And gee, weho are they going to vote for??

Now spread that Nationwide!

You get what I’ve been saying for years about Illegal Immigration.

B) The Gang-of-8 Bill was little more than a Democrat wish list with a couple of bells and whistles slapped on to give cover for squishy Republicans to support it as well. The bill legalized illegals before adding in any kind of security and despite Rubio’s dishonest hype, it would have done little to secure the border. Between giving citizenship to illegal aliens and massive increases in legal immigration, Rubio’s bill would have demographically marginalized conservatism in America.

If Rubio becomes President and implements something like his Gang-of-8 Bill, then liberals will be destined to win in the future on every issue that matters. I’m not someone who believes you win in politics by losing, but it’s entirely possible that 4-8 years of Hillary Clinton decimating the country and stacking the Supreme Court would do far less damage to the country than the immigration plan Marco Rubio would likely implement if he becomes President.

C) Rubio’s excuses for his betrayal are ridiculous. Oh, we have ISIS now; so we have to secure the border. Well, we had Al-Qaeda then. Stopping that terrorist organization from getting across the border wasn’t important? Rubio also claims that he gave the Democrats almost everything they wanted in hopes that the House would improve the bill. In other words, Rubio was willing to turn the Senate bill into little more than Barack Obama’s wish list in hopes that John Boehner of all people would negotiate a tough conservative plan? You’d have to be dumber than Meghan McCain to believe that the same guy who caved every time he went up against Obama was going to come up with a great bill after Rubio made him negotiate from a position of weakness. In actuality, Rubio was hoping the pro-amnesty leadership of the House would ignore the Hastert rule and would push an immigration bill through with a few moderate Republicans and all the Democrats helping out. When a guy shoves a knife in your back that deeply and won’t even come clean about it, how do you trust him?

D) Even today, Rubio fully admits that he wants to give citizenship to illegal aliens – and that’s during a Presidential race. You really think that sounds like someone who is going to get tough on illegal immigration or build a wall if he gets elected? Keep in mind that if Rubio becomes President and is perfect in every other way, but is lying on illegal immigration again, it means the end of the conservative movement in America. Choosing him as our nominee would be like playing Russian Roulette with 5 bullets in the chamber.

Of course, the Republicans in the establishment are happy to play that game and have decided that “Lil Jeb” is their chosen candidate.

Political Cartoons by Bob Gorrell
So it’s onto Marco.
MARCO!
RINO!
MARCO!
RINO!

In large part, that’s because they expect him to betray conservatives on amnesty again, but it’s also because they don’t believe Rubio will shake things up too much.

He won’t. He’ll be passive aggressive with the Democrats and give them alot of what they want because he doesn’t want to rock the boat too much, like most RINOs.

They don’t think he’ll roll back Obamacare, they don’t think he’ll kick any connected consultants off the gravy train, they don’t believe he’ll listen to those “wackobirds” that John McCain hates so much. After the most radical President in American history has stomped all over the Constitution for 8 years to drag the country to the Left, is it worth risking the country on someone backed by the establishment Republicans because they believe he’s a go-along-to-get-along status quo candidate?

 HELL NO!

Oh, but the establishment Republicans say Rubio is the most electable candidate. Of course, that’s what they always say about whoever their golden boy happens to be. It’s what they said about Dole, McCain and Romney. They were wrong about them and they’re wrong about Rubio, too.

“electable” is code word for acceptable loss.

Don’t get the wrong idea. Rubio could certainly win, but he probably wouldn’t be as electable as Cruz or God help us all, even Kasich despite his solid head-to-head numbers against Hillary.

Or even Trump.

Why?

Keep in mind that Rubio can’t win a general election unless he gets the support of the 30-35% of GOP voters that currently support Donald Trump. Do you really think that after supporting Trump for months, those voters are going to fall in line behind an establishment candidate who is best known for betraying the people who supported him to push amnesty and open borders?

The Establishment thinks so.

Moreover, consider the fact that 60% of GOP voters have consistently been going for the outsider candidates (Trump, Cruz and Carson). Do you really think all those people are going to shrug off this entire crazy primary season and eat the same old crap sandwich from the establishment again?

Nope. But that’s an acceptable loss if The Establishment keeps it’s power.

Beyond that, although Rubio is generally a solid debater, he turned in one of the worst debate performances anyone has seen with his “Robot Rubio” performance. What if it happens again in a general election debate? He’s also generally very scripted, inauthentic and his pathetic non-response to every genuine attack on his record is , “That’s a lie.” Furthermore, maybe we should consider the fact that a candidate who wants the NSA to snoop on our phone records, showed terrible judgment in supporting the overthrow of Libya and who comes off like he can’t wait to get in another ground war in the Middle East isn’t going to be wildly popular with the American electorate in 2016.

It has been an unpredictable election season and we still don’t know who the GOP nominee will be. However, if it turns out to be a guy who did the same thing to conservatives on immigration that Jane Fonda did to the troops during Vietnam, the Republican Party will richly deserve to lose.

Launching 2.0

Well, I here to re-launch/Re-boot my 6 1/2 year old Blog.

New & Improved (does that make the old one “Old and Inferior”? I used to ask as a kid to the commercials) with Si Winston Churchill in the banner. One of my personal heroes. Been to his War Museum in London twice.

So let head off to College. You remember those days of Working hard to get good grades and studying like a made fool?

Well, apparently the New Millenials don’t, and don’t want to.

Student activists at Brown University are complaining of emotional stress and poor grades after months of protesting, and blame the school for insisting that they complete their coursework.

Undergraduate tuition for academic year 2015-16: $48,272. Room, board, and required fees: $12,700. Total cost: $62,046. Mommy & Daddy are not making $15/hr… 🙂

“There are people breaking down, dropping out of classes, and failing classes because of the activism work they are taking on,” an undergraduate student going by the pseudonym “David” told The Brown Daily Herald Thursday. “My grades dropped dramatically. My health completely changed. I lost weight. I’m on antidepressants and anti-anxiety pills right now. Counselors called me. I had deans calling me to make sure I was okay.”

“My grades dropped dramatically. My health completely changed. I lost weight. I’m on antidepressants and anti-anxiety pills right now.”

Other students reported similar problems, describing maladies ranging from emotional distraction to panic attacks that they say caused them to skip assignments, miss class, and generally lose focus on keeping their grades up.

David and other students began demonstrating on campus in October to protest two opinion columns published in the Daily Herald that some students deemed racist because they defended the celebration of Columbus Day. Black and Asian student groups reacted by demanding that the paper not only retract and apologize for the op-eds, but also develop a plan for increasing the diversity of its staff, subject to approval by the activists.

Following an almost-immediate capitulation by the newspaper’s editorial board, and incensed by University President Christina Paxson’s attempt to stake out a middle ground on the matter, the protesters proceeded to direct their unspent energies on the university as a whole, issuing an ultimatum in November calling for affirmative action hiring policies, mandatory diversity training, and apologies for Brown’s historical ties to the slave trade.

Paxson released a draft of a new Diversity Action and Inclusion Plan 10 days later, only to find herself besieged in her own office by student protesters complaining that the plan was “illegitimate and insufficient” and demanding an end to “open dialogues and forums” on the matter.

David, who spent many hours helping to organize the demonstrations, claims he reached out to both Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) and his academic deans for support, but told the Daily Herald that the therapy and deans’ notes requesting extended deadlines on his assignments were little more than “bandages” for the stress of balancing his activism with existing obligations to school, work, and friends.

Other students expressed similar frustration with the university’s expectation that they keep up with their schoolwork during the protests, saying that some professors refused to grant extensions on homework and tests.

Justice Gaines, an undergraduate student who uses the pronouns xe, xem and xyr, even recounted suffering from what xe describes as “a panic attack” related to xyr emotions over the Daily Herald op-eds, adding that xe “couldn’t go to class for several days” following the episode.

Liliana Sampedro, one of the students who compiled the diversity ultimatum, argued that refusal to grant such accommodations “has systemic effects on students of color,” who she said may sometimes feel obligated to prioritize their activist work over their studies.

“I remember emailing the professor and begging her to put things off another week … I hadn’t eaten. I hadn’t slept. I was exhausted, physically and emotionally,” Sampedro recalled. The professor nonetheless insisted that she submit a previously-assigned research presentation on time, which she claims forced her to stay up late to finish the project after having already spent hours working on the list of demands.

Assistant Dean of Student Support Services Ashley Ferranti, however, told the Daily Herald that over 90 percent of such requests are routinely accepted, and that the university strives to maintain its academic standards without discouraging students from becoming politically involved.

Don’t you just feel sorry for the little cherubs. 🙂

Life’s so rough on the poor darlings.

I just worried about passing my classes. They want a freebie for that too…

That or they’ll be like Bernie Sanders, a professional protester who’s never had a real job.
