Econ 101

America’s 18- to 34-year-old “millennials” have been tutored in group-think schools that extol socialism. Now they lionize Bernie Sanders, whose class-warfare prescriptions include taxing away all but maybe 1% of the nation’s 0.0001% billionaires’ wealth, then going after Wall Street, Big Business, millionaires and upper middle classes – and giving the “revenue” to those who “need” or “deserve” it more.

The entire process revolves around three central questions. Which ruling class elites get to determine who loses, who wins, by how much? Who grants them the power to do so, and holds them accountable? And what happens when the inevitable discontent over their autocratic decisions boils over?

Interestingly, many of the same generation have flocked to see films that glorify individual liberty and defiance of centralized government control. InThe Hunger Games, a few small gestures of disobedience grew into a revolution against Capital elites who lived well and ruled imperiously, while subjugated masses in the Districts starved in poverty and sent their children to die in televised “hunting games.”

In Divergent, a Faction system preserves a society that primarily benefits the ruling Erudites by stifling individuality. The heroes and heroines refuse to confine their lives and ambitions to only one of the other four factions in which they were placed at age sixteen. Again, the ruling class lives far better than the ruled masses. (Ponder the politicians, bureaucrats and lobbyists in counties around Washington, DC.)

Are so many millennials really willing to let ruling classes confiscate wealth, impose penalties, determine appropriate welfare payments, and dole out favors? Has their “education” made them incapable of understanding the blessings of liberty, free enterprise capitalism, reliable and affordable fossil fuel energy, and entrepreneurial opportunities? Have instructors so brilliantly presented socialism through rose-colored glasses that young voters are blissfully unaware of its abject failures and horrid excesses?

Are millennials perhaps a little schizophrenic – loving liberty in theory and celluloid, but content to live reality in the Districts, among the Amity and Abnegation Factions, while enjoying the bread and circuses (welfare payments and show trials for humbled banker and corporate bigwigs) bestowed upon them? Or perhaps they simply assume they will be among the Capital’s Erudite and Candor classes, governing the rest of America, in the name of justice, fairness, diversity and equality?

They clearly view free or low-cost college tuition, child care, healthcare, food and housing – along with “living wages” of $15 per hour for entry-level jobs … and six-figure incomes after college – as “constitutional rights.” But when they “feel the Bern,” have they pondered how this system must necessarily work in the Real World, where they will feel the actual burn?

As the late Southern Baptist pastor and author Adrian Pierce Rogers succinctly explained, the hard reality is that “government cannot give anything to anybody that it doesn’t first take from somebody else. What one person receives without working for another person must work for without receiving.”

That is precisely what Senator Sanders’ wealth taxation and redistribution scheme proposes to do. The problem, as former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher astutely observed, “is that eventually you run out of other people’s money.” Even in the wealthy United States, “eventually” would come quickly, because socialism destroys the incentive to work, innovate, invest, take risks and create new wealth.

Ultimately, nations are left with a large and growing population of have-nots who demand more – when there is no “more” to be had. That is whatItaly, Greece, Portugal, Spain, Argentina, Brazil, Cuba, Venezuela and other socialist, populist, egalitarian paradises are now discovering.

They used to provide all kinds of free stuff. Today they are basket cases – struggling with anemic growth, recession and bankruptcy. Their government bonds have turned to “junk” that no sane investor wants.

Today, 59% of young Greeks are unemployed. Youth unemployment is 56% in Spain, 42% in Italy, 38% in Portugal. In Brazil, electricity rates soared 51% last year, food prices rose 15% and overall inflation stood at 11% – a vast improvement over its 5000% annual inflation rate (!) in the early 1990s but still awful. In all of Latin America, only Argentina at 27% and Venezuela at 200% had worse inflation.

American students are immersed in “sustainability” studies and projects, mostly based on still persistent notions that we are running out of essential resources and destroying Planet Earth. Those ideas are the foundation of policies and regulations that perpetuate what really is unsustainable: unemployment, government spending, anti-growth policies, and the anger and unrest they cause.

It may be, as Winston Churchill once observed, that “the inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of the blessings.” However, he continued, “the inherent blessing of socialism is the equal sharing of misery and scarcity.” Unfortunately, simple, basic truths like this are rarely taught in our schools.

Students today want equality of outcomes, rather than of opportunities that yield positive outcomes by dint of hard work. If millennials applied their socialist principle to grades – with all scores on exams and projects averaged out among smart and less talented, hard-working and deadbeat students – shiftless classmates would be happy to coast along, once ambitious scholars would exert far less effort, and all would soon flounder in a sea of F’s.

Similarly, socialist policies stifle the innovation, economic growth and job creation that young people need if they are to get beyond minimum-wage service jobs, and out of their parents’ basements.

Free tuition? City University of New York had that for awhile, until 1976, when it ran out of money and the city nearly went bankrupt. Even Sanders admits his plan would cost some $750 billion over ten years. But perhaps it would work if half of the administrative positions were eliminated, faculty salaries got a 25 or 35% trimming, and sabbaticals came just once a decade.

Surely the “progressives” who rule our campuses – and try to ban and silence speakers like Ben Shapiro – would support this “pro-free-stuff” approach. Surely, the next generation of Erudite and Candor classes in The Capital would be content with salaries that are no higher than those of the masses they govern.

Moreover, the bills must eventually be paid. Millennials may get free stuff today. But they and their children and grandchildren will pay for their freebies many times over, through higher taxes, increasing control over their lives, higher inflation, fewer jobs at reduced salaries, and lower living standards.

Then there is the matter of accountability. Government is very good at fining and jailing citizens and businessmen for violating any of the thousands of regulations that carry criminal sanctions, even if the “perpetrator” did not intend to violate the rule or had no clue that such a rule could possibly exist. But government expects and demands that its own incompetent or criminal actions be ignored.

Thus a rancher is prosecuted for “terrorism” for accidentally burning 139 acres of national forests, but government officials get off scot free when they torch 160,000 acres a couple miles away. Citizens go to prison for inadvertently “impacting” a wetland, but EPA bureaucrats receive “get out of jail free” cards when they deliberately open an abandoned mine and unleash 3,000,000 gallons of toxic sludge. IRS directors simply “take the Fifth” after targeting conservative groups, an OPM director resigns rather than testify before Congress about her screw-ups, and VA incompetence is ignored – while private citizens are hounded and threatened until they cave in or run out of money to defend themselves.

The more government control and socialist wealth redistribution we get, the worse these abuses become. Will the Bernie Sanders voters demand accountability? Or do they simply not care when ruling elites and fellow socialists violate laws and abuse their public trust, to advance agendas or protect themselves?

All these questions would make for very interesting discussions with socialist candidates and voters. (Townhall)

What’s In it for Me?

Political Cartoons by Bob Gorrell

The American People have spoken.

I want to congratulate the forces of Ignorance, Fear & Envy they have won the day.

The people aren’t concerned about the wolf at the door unless he has candy or someone elses hard earned money to give them as a “free treat”.

Eat the Rich!, the say when the wolf reveals himself.

And a Liberal Socialist Supreme Court that will destroy the US Constitution once and for all is a virtually certainty.

But hey, I got my “free” stuff!! And no evil white guy is going to take it away from me!

It’s MINE!  All Mine!  hehehehehheheheheehehe…..

Nobody Expect the Obama Inquisition!

Amongst our weaponry are such diverse elements as fear, surprise, ruthless efficiency, an almost fanatical devotion to THE ONE , and nice  “truths”—oh damn! 🙂

Prince of Darkness, and Apprentice Lord of the Sith, Harry Reid: ‘We know what the problems are with this fiscal problem. We just need some revenue,’” Reid said. “That was the issue. The mandate was look at all the exit polls, look at all the polling, the vast majority of the American people, rich, poor, everybody agrees that the rich — richest of the rich have to help a little bit.”

So bend over, here comes your reward America! 🙂

And don’t forget about your “friendly” HHS/IRS Jackboot. They will be watching you!!! 🙂
Are you happy Now? 🙂

Thomas Purcell:  Our nation has now slipped into the twilight of its years from the sunlight of its heyday, and while many are asking themselves this morning “How did this happen”, an even larger chunk of people are licking their Cheetos stained fingers, turning on the Kardashians and asking, “Gee what will I get for Christmas?”

At least that was the evidence presented to any rational adult by the re-election of King Obama I to another four years on the throne.

With the House still firmly in the hands of the GOP who have been labeled as woman hating corporate thieves, and the Senate now weakened by 2 more years of internal strife and struggle with the right wing, the power of the Presidency is now stronger than ever, and firmly in the hands of a leftist who uses the Constitution as a guideline rather than as the rule of law.

The impotent Congress will now be in no position to argue when Obama issues executive order after executive order in the coming months which will be merely be a further consolidation of power masked under the guise of saving us from a do-nothing Congress.

People often use the expression “how could this happen?” when things go horribly wrong, or the old standby “why me?”, and blame the world around them for all perceived injustices that are perpetrated on their persons.  Yet, they never look to the answer that any rational adult observing from the outside would offer them—namely to suggest that they should look in the mirror and examine their own lives a bit more carefully, as well as their voting record.

Assuming they vote of course. According to the math, the majority of Americans didn’t even vote in the last 2 elections. Even less will now vote as they grow disenfranchised and dissatisfied with the specter of a government that watches our every move and waiting for a mistake to cash in on.

So pardon me if I don’t weep too much for the fate that is about to befall them and the predicament their children will eventually be placed in. As the role and power of the Presidency grows, liberty will shrink and American lives will continually become more directed by an unfeeling and arbitrary bureaucracy. Compartmentalized and like a horse with blinders on, people will continue to vote for more government to solve their own problems and fulfill their own shallow needs without regard to the larger implications of a nation that is financially and morally bankrupt.

Many will blame Obama for this change to a statist government; others still will blame Romney or the political parties. Pseudo intellectuals will point out the finer details of campaign finance issues, the wool scarf wearing occupy Wall Street crowd will blame corporate greed. In the end, all of it is merely a load of pasture patties wafting on the wind. Obama is merely the symptom to a much large problem of rampant self interest and fueled by a desire to be famous and pretty rather than free.

The blame falls squarely on the shoulders of everyone who wakes up in the morning and puts on a pair of pants and turns on the TV and is more concerned about their own petty little needs rather than the larger question of direction of society and the role of government in everyone’s lives.

People will line up for their free pills, their subsidized housing, education and automobiles, and their government sponsored health care and wonder why they have no money in their pockets. The elderly of previous generations will pass into the night and turn over their enormous wealth to the next generation not realizing that it has already been spent, with government confiscating more and more in the name of ‘fairness’ .
It is not the end of America despite what pundits are saying, it is a worse fate. Like a lame horse stumbling around the track while the audience gasps in horror, America will become a modern day Portugal, a nation of wandering sailors who drink lots of spirits and talk fondly of the ‘good old days’ when they ran the world.
People will exclaim ‘we will become another Greece’. If only we were that lucky to have society collapse. At least then we would have a chance to rebuild, instead of living in a perpetual coma from a botched lobotomy,  like Ken Kesey’s Randall McMurphy, a symbol to all that would cross the American government, which is now a modern day Nurse Ratched.

As for me, I will remain to the bitter end and circling the wagons to defend what is left as best I can to try and preserve what I can of that golden time when men walked free in the sunlight, instead of basking in the glow of a solar panel powered utopic promise that is merely a roof over a tin shack run by our government slumlords.

Government Help

Looking to carry out an assassination or set off a bomb on US soil? Look no farther than Mexico, where murderous drug traffickers abound, ready and willing to take money for brazen acts of violence.

The United States has accused Iran of plotting to kill the Saudi ambassador to the United States and bomb the Saudi embassy in Washington, according to the embattled U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder.

Holder and the Justice Department claim the plot was hatched in Mexico last May. Two Iranians, Manssor Arbabsiar and Gholam Shakuri, were accused of the attack in court documents, according to the New York Times.

The Justice Department claims Iran and Mexican drug cartels worked together on the plot.

President Barack Obama was briefed in June about the alleged plot and through a spokesman expressed gratitude for it being disrupted. (Reuters and others)

Several Questions arise: Does this jive with “the border is more secure that it has ever been” as Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napalitano?

Attorney General Eric Holder:  Who’s ATF gave the Cartels 2000 guns. Is now outraged by a plot coming from Mexican Cartels. Gee, maybe instead of a bomb they should have used some of the guns instead. 🙂

But we don’t need to secure the border. Nope, that would be racist. 🙂

Sheriff Babeu on KFYI:

The Senate DEMOCRATS killed Obama’s Jobs Bill. But of course it’s not the Democrats fault. It’s the Republicans. The Tea Party…The fact that the Democrats are a Majority in the Senate doesn’t matter.

House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer suggested Tuesday that voters are to blame for the partisan bickering and standoffs that have defined Congress this year.

The Maryland Democrat said voters are “absolutely right” to think that “Congress isn’t working very well.” But that dysfunction, he said, is largely of their own making.

“The American people have every right to be angry [and] disappointed by the performance of the Congress,” Hoyer told reporters in the Capitol. “Of course, the American people have also elected people with hard stances, so that to some degree the American people are realizing the results of their votes.  (Read: Republicans and Tea Party, not the hardline Socialist Democrats)

“If elections have consequences — which I think they do — some of those consequences are getting what you vote for,” Hoyer added. “In this case, many people voted for people who thought compromise was not something that they ought to participate in.” (Read: Republicans and Tea Party NOT the Socialist Democrats who have been obstructing anything THEY didn’t like! or for that matter, the Nearly 900 Days since the Senate Democrats passed a Federal Budget) 🙂

It’s not Me!!  Vote for Me the other guys an obstructionist! 🙂

And on that note:

Obama Tells Advisers To Find How To Approve Stimulus Projects “Without Additional Congressional Authorization”

“Scour this report, identify all those areas in which we can act administratively without additional congressional authorization and just get it done,” President Obama said today to a “Jobs Council” meeting.

So if you won’t “pass my bill” or else I will just do it myself by executive, procedural, and administrative fiat!

But I’m not a dictator-wanna be. 🙂

“Now, I want to be very clear here. Nobody wants to punish success in America. The Republicans talk about class warfare. That’s — our goal is to make success available for everybody. What’s great about this country is you’ve got a good idea, you’ve got a service that nobody else has thought of, you know what, go out there, start a business. Make money. I want everybody out there to be rich. That’s great. Anybody in America should be able to make it if they try.”

“But none of us make it on our own. Somebody — an outstanding entrepreneur like a Steve Jobs — somewhere along the line he had a teacher who helped inspire him (read: Government union employee not “educator”). All those great Internet businesses wouldn’t have succeeded unless somebody had invested in the government research that helped to create the Internet. We don’t succeed on our own. We succeed because this country has, in previous generations, made investments that allow all of us to succeed.”  (yeah, most of them were evil capitalists!) 🙂

And that is only attainable because of Government. You can’t possibly do it on your own!!

Sums up Obama and Liberals very well doesn’t it.

Too bad 3 guys from a garage in Seattle proved him wrong: Steve Jobs, Bill Gates and Steve Wozniak. (Apple Computers and Microsoft).

Or even a filmmaker from Modesto, CA: George Lucas.

But Liberals will never believe you can do it on your own and will drum it into you that it’s not possible. Just look at the mindless zombies of Occupy Wall Street for a clue…

You are completely lost without their sage guidance, control and their “help”.

You aren’t capable of doing it yourself. You can’t possible pick yourself up by your own boot straps and just do it yourself!

Mama Government has to “help” you.

Feeling condescended to or insulted yet?

“The guys in Washington are supposed to be helping me, but they don’t get it with their mansions and their millions,” says an unemployed nurse at the protest on Wednesday, who declined to give her name. “They don’t understand my situation and they don’t want to hear me. Well, now they’ll have to hear all of us.”

Yeah, helping yourself is definitely out. The Government must do it for me. Kiss me narcissistic ass.

Now they want to accost the “evil” millionaires at their homes. So when does it occur to the zer-sum gain liberal hippies that they should just take what they “deserve” from the rich?

A heartwarming muffins-to-riches story.

The 53% who actually PAY taxes. Damn those evil “rich” people.

Damn you Government for not kissing my but more! And she was supposed to beg the government for assistance because she couldn’t possibly have done it on her own!

John Stossel: “We’re the country that built the intercontinental railroad,” Obama says. “So how can we now sit back and let China build the best railroads?” (Let’s leave the silly “57 States” style faux pas of intercontinental alone)

Ironic that he mentions the Chinese. Progressives used to complain that to build the railroad, bosses abused Chinese workers — called them “coolies” and treated them badly. Now this is big success?

Coolie: is a historical term for manual laborers or slaves from Asia, particularly China and India, during the 19th century and early 20th century.

I guess Obama doesn’t know that the transcontinental railroad was a Solyndra-like Big Government scandal. The railroad didn’t make economic sense at the time, so the government subsidized construction and gave the companies huge quantities of the best land on the continent. As we should expect, without market discipline — profit and loss — contractors ripped off the taxpayers. After all, if you get paid by the amount of track you lay, you’ll lay more track than necessary.

Credit Mobilier, the first rail construction company, made enormous profits by overcharging for its work. To keep the subsidies flowing, it made big contributions to congressmen.

Where have we heard that recently?

The transcontinental railroad lost tons of money. The government never covered its costs, and most rail lines that used the tracks went bankrupt or continued to be subsidized by taxpayers. The Union Pacific and Northern Pacific — all those rail lines we learned about in history class — milked the taxpayer and then went broke.

One line worked. The Great Northern never went bankrupt. It was the railroad that got no subsidies.

We need infrastructure, but the beauty of leaving most of these things to the private sector — without subsidies, bailouts and other privileges — is that they would have to be justified by the profit-and-loss test. In a truly free market, when private companies make bad choices, investors lose their own money. This tends to make them careful.

By contrast, when government loses money, it just spends more and raises your taxes, or borrows more, or inflates. Building giant government projects is no way to create jobs. When government spends on infrastructure, it takes money away from projects that consumers might think are more important.

When government isn’t killing jobs by sucking money out of the private sector, it kills jobs by smothering the private sector with regulation. I talked to Peter Schiff about all this. Schiff is a good authority because he was one of the few people to warn of the housing bust. Now he’s had a run-in with the federal government over job creation.

Schiff, who operates a brokerage firm with 150 employees, recently complained to Congress that “regulations are running up the cost of doing business, and a lot of companies never even get started because they can’t overcome that regulatory hurdle.”

Schiff claims he would have hired a thousand more people but for regulations.

“I had a huge plan to expand. I wanted to open up a lot of offices. I had some capital to do it. I had investors lined up. My business was doing really well. But unfortunately, because of the regulations in the security industry, I was not able to hire.”

So if he wants to hire an analyst, he can’t just hire him?

“I had to get permission to publish their research, which I didn’t get for years. And so I can’t pay analysts if I can’t sell their research.

People don’t appreciate the number of regulations entrepreneurs face. Schiff pays 10 people just to try to figure out if his company is obeying the rules.

“You can’t just act very quickly, because everything has to be done through this maze of compliance. Even my brokers … find out that maybe 20 percent, 30 percent of their day is involved in compliance-related activity, activity that is inhibiting their productivity. … All around the country, people are complying with regulations instead of producing, instead of investing and growing the economy. They’re trying to survive the regulations.”

This is no way to create jobs or wealth. Keynesian pundits and politicians can’t understand why businesses sit on cash rather than invest and hire unemployed workers. It’s really no mystery. Government is in the way.

But to Liberals the Government and their control of it and you is the ultimate answer to everything.

“Green” Sidenote: More Cronyism From the Obama Administration

You know that Administration that is demonizing Capitalism and how evil Corporate America is and how the the rich, greedy corporations are steeling wealth from you and lobbyists are evil…Well…

Look whose relative just got $135.8 million energy loan

The sister-in-law of John Podesta, President Obama’s influential White House transition director, served as the lobbyist for a wind power <> firm that was just awarded a $135.8 million loan guarantee from the Department of Energy.

The company is Brookfield Asset Management. It boasts a board of nine directors, including New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s long-term girlfriend <>.

The Energy Department’s promise to Brookfield marks the latest in controversial massive alternative energy loans to companies with strong ties to the Obama White House and to top Democrat <> lawmakers.

Last month, the grant was finalized to build the 99 megawatt Granite Reliable wind project in New Hampshire’s <> Coos County, making it the state’s largest wind plant. (In the middle of nowhere!!)

Since 2009, the company has been represented by the lobby firm Heather Podesta and Partners, LLC.

Podesta, a top financial <> bundler for Democrat politicians, is wife of lobbyist and art collector, Tony Podesta, who is the brother of John Podesta.

But remember, “Don’t do as I do, Do as I say”. 🙂

So it makes you wonder about Aunt Zeituni or DUI Uncle Onyango Obama. Why weren’t they on the gravytrain!

After all, you can’t make it without the Government’s “help”!!

The Speech

The Almighty Barack Hussein Obama gave a speech last night and I have only 4 words in summary: I TOLD YOU SO!

President Obama’s address to Congress was exactly what we thought it would be: a shallow, callow campaign rally masquerading as something serious and important.  As Charles Krauthammer framed it on Fox, tonight’s address represented the first presidential campaign speech delivered in the House of Representatives in US history.

The tone and tenor of the address, which was sprinkled with superficial appeals to bipartisanship, was highly political and practically unhelpful.  Straw men were introduced and torched at record pace.

Spend More Money! Tax The “The Rich”!

Create more Union jobs and temporary “infrastructure” Union jobs.

Oh, and “Pass the Bill”! Only there is no bill. There aren’t any concrete, written specifics, but if you don’t pass it we’ll beat you senseless Republicans! (But we will create one in a week-and-a-half, in the meantime we’ll beat you senseless first then tell you to pass it or else!)

Of course, we were going to do that anyhow, but who cares. We don’t.

“Just Pass the Bill” but not just any bill, like the Ryan Budget, or Cut, Cap & Balance, or any right wing “extremist” bill, a bill that we the left wing extremists can be happy with. That’s “compromise”, after all.

Just do as I say, not as I do.

President Barack Obama proposed a $447 billion jobs package (More Spending!!) on Thursday to help boost the U.S. economy (That’s worked so well before- I think it was called THE STIMULUS!) , challenging Congress to pass legislation made up largely of tax cuts for workers (the same ones that haven’t worked so far)  and businesses (but we’ll choke them with other taxes-The highest in the world and regulations and ObamaCare!)

“It will provide a jolt to an economy that has stalled and give companies confidence that if they invest and hire there will be customers for their products and services. You should pass this jobs plan right away,” Obama said.

The agreement we passed in July will cut government spending by about $1 trillion over the next ten years (That was a cut in the growth of expenses not actual expenses).  It also charges this Congress to come up with an additional $1.5 trillion in savings by Christmas.  Tonight, I’m asking you to increase that amount so that it covers the full cost of the American Jobs Act.  And a week from Monday, I’ll be releasing a more ambitious deficit plan – a plan that will not only cover the cost of this jobs bill, but stabilize our debt in the long run.  This approach is basically the one I’ve been advocating for months.

Can you hear The Punt (That’s right, Obama punted the heavy lifting to the super-committee, and pledged to introduce another general deficit plan in twelve days. ) from here and it sounds familiar…

The Stimulus and the Armageddon speeches he gave to get it passed. This is so 2009.

Taking aim at Republicans who have consistently opposed his economic initiatives, Obama said it was time to “stop the political circus and actually do something to help the economy.”

The political partisanship is entirely the Republicans fault, you know. 🙂

The 2 years prior to the Republicans taking the House 8 months ago doesn’t count.  It’s doesn’t matter. My words are supposed to be bigger than my inaction.

So what if every Republican led initiative has died in the Senate, it’s still their fault.
And we (Liberals) aren’t the partisans in this mess. 🙂

But after saying it was a crisis our Dear leader went on vacation for a Month. It was that “urgent”. Now he’s had his big speech, which doesn’t have a plan yet, but you have to “just pass the bill” and we’ll come out with a plan in a week-and-a-half. We’ll lead from behind as always.

Obama said he would propose a deficit-reduction plan on Sept. 19 that will cover the cost of his jobs bill and include “modest adjustments” to Medicare and Medicaid and more taxes for the rich and corporations. (Unlike the $500 Billion Obamacare is supposed to cut so it can be double counted as savings! or the evil Ryan Plan 🙂 )

“A week from Monday, I’ll be releasing a more ambitious deficit plan — a plan that will not only cover the cost of this jobs bill, but stabilize our debt in the long run,” he said Thursday to Congress in his speech on job creation.

So the tease and denial continues. After all, Keynesian Economics and his own rigid Ideology prevent him from doing what is really necessary.

So the media tease continues. But you have to “just pass the bill”. 🙂

“…by making modest adjustments to health care programs like Medicare and Medicaid; and by reforming our tax code in a way that asks the wealthiest Americans and biggest corporations to pay their fair share,” he said. (CNBC)

Soak the Rich. As for “fair share” get I though paying the the majority of taxes ALREADY would be enough, after all 47% of all American Pay NO taxes at all and $4.2 Billion dollars in tax refunds went to Illegal Aliens.

And we have to remember that his definition of “millionaires and billionaires” starts at $200,000 a year.

Tax Year 2008 (latest available): Top 5% (which fit into his category of “millionaires and Billionaires” : 58.72%

The Bottom 50% pay 3% of all Taxes.

But it’s “fair” to tax them even more because they aren’t paying their “fair share”.

Class Warfare at it’s ugliest.

So we Have Tax & Spend Keynesian Stimulus.

We Have raise taxes on the rich. Class Warfare.

So what was different from before last night? NOTHING!

But you have to wait until Sept 19th for his “urgent” plan that will take him a month-and-a-half to put together on his vacation and now his tease and denial.

Can the media stand the hype or will they orgasm all over themselves before Sept 19th. Tune in and find out!

That’s very “urgent”.  It’s ANOTHER CRISIS! And we all know “never waste a crisis”. 🙂

Two quick examples that illustrate why this entire spectacle was a sham.

(1) Obama lamented teacher layoffs: “While they’re adding teachers in places like South Korea, we’re laying them off in droves.  It’s unfair to our kids.  It undermines their future and ours.  And it has to stop.  Pass this jobs bill, and put our teachers back in the classroom where they belong.” But later in the speech, he went out of his way to condemn budget fixes like Wisconsin’s, which limited collective bargaining “rights” for government employees, but has saved thousands of teachers’ jobs.

(2) The president demanded swift action on three pending trade agreements, heavily implying that Congress has been dragging its feet on these items: “Now it’s time to clear the way for a series of trade agreements that would make it easier for American companies to sell their products in Panama, Colombia, and South Korea…”  But the reason these agreements have stalled is because he refuses to send them to Congress unless Republicans agree to lard them up with special goodies for labor unions.
Liberals on MSNBC and Twitter seem to be energized by Obama’s aggressive performance.  They think this was just what the doctor ordered, and that Republicans have been put on notice, or something.

Liberals?  Excited by a passionate, but ultimately unserious, Obama campaign speech?  Color me stunned.

If President Obama plan to convince Americans that the economy sucks because the GOP wouldn’t go along with every last piece of his re-run stimulus plan, let him try.  “You should pass it.  And I intend to take that message to every corner of this country.”  Go for it, champ. (Guy Benson)

Tonight’s Preview

Wanna Hear what Teleprompter One will tell the Great Speech Maker tonight?

Wanna Hear the latest speech that is supposed to be “policy” or “leadership” but is just more words and obfuscations?

Michael Ramirez Cartoon

Well, there you have it. It just won’t be that straight forward. But it will be Tax and Spend, Redistribution and  More Government and Union Jobs. It will just be hidden under another layer of Orwellian Bullshit and The Mainstream Media’s Frenzy of Giddiness and Awe.

But it will still be ideological bullshit.

It’s not like he can step outside of his ideology.

Oh, I’m sure it will be soaring and emotional  and “heartfelt”.

But it will be a massive snow job the likes of which would cause an ice age.

And if you don’t buy the bullshit, you’re just a heartless, right wing, terrorist/extremist/racist. 🙂

So, no worries. 🙂

After an $830 billion “economic recovery” plan, two auto bailouts, cash for clunkers, mortgage bailouts and at least two subsequent jobs programs, Obama wants to convince the country that just a little bit more stimulus is what the economy needs to finally get back on track.

But wait a minute. Since Obama took office, the government has run up $4 trillion in deficits. And even before his newest stimulus package, he’s on track to add another $973 billion next year.

Unless Keynes’ was wrong, shouldn’t all that have superturbocharged the economy by now? We’re not talking about a little bit of extra spending, but record amounts.

So far, Obama has run deficits that are more than twice as large as any president since Truman. And by the end of his first term, he will have borrowed more money than the federal government spent over the nation’s first 200 years.

Yet all we’ve gotten in return for this epochal level of allegedly stimulative deficit spending is the country’s worst economic recovery since the Great Depression.

Worse, the specific ideas Obama will apparently propose — more money for infrastructure, another extension to this year’s payroll tax cut, an unemployment benefits extension and tax credits to encourage hiring the unemployed — have all been tried since he took office, and all have failed to move the needle on jobs.

But if you bang your Rigidly Ideological Head against this wall, eventually you will break the wall!

Simple really. 🙂

Spending on roads has been a particularly expensive flop. Last summer, Obama was so sure the huge amount of highway stimulus money getting paid out over those months would create jobs that he dubbed it “Recovery Summer.” Instead, the economy lost a net 329,000 jobs.

And when the payroll tax cut went into effect in January, Vice President Biden assured that the $112 billion put into workers’ pockets would end up “spurring growth and creating jobs.” So far, GDP growth has all but stalled, and there are 104,000 more unemployed.

Nor did the tax credits have any noticeable effect, with most of the money given away to companies that would have made the same hiring decisions anyway.

How much more time will it take for Obama to realize his economic policies have failed? The answer so far appears to be “Just a little bit more.”

At least until 2013 when he no longer has to run for election so katie-bar-the-door will the real Obama please stand up!

Imagine what Obama could do without being in perpetual Campaign Mode?

Be Afraid. Be Very, Very Afraid!!

But tonight, you’ll just get the Chicago Community Orginizer Soaring Rhetoric Speech # 504. It will sound like 503…502…501…500…499…
It will be like mythical Chinese Food, an hour later even he won’t remember what he said.

The same old ugly pig will have a new shade of Orwellian Lipstick on.

Are ready for some football! 🙂

The New War

Teamsters President Jimmy Hoffa had some profane, combative words for Republicans while warming up the crowd for President Obama in Detroit, Michigan on Monday.

“We got to keep an eye on the battle that we face: The war on workers. And you see it everywhere, it is the Tea Party. And you know, there is only one way to beat and win that war. The one thing about working people is we like a good fight. And you know what? They’ve got a war, they got a war with us and there’s only going to be one winner. It’s going to be the workers of Michigan, and America. We’re going to win that war,” Jimmy Hoffa said to a heavily union crowd.

“President Obama, this is your army. We are ready to march. Let’s take these son of bitches out and give America back to an America where we belong,” Hoffa added.
Heil Obama!

Heil Obama!

Heil Obama!

Heil Obama!

Anyone want to “compromise” or “negotiate” with that? 🙂

This is the base of the Democrat party that they will pander to. So you don’t think the Democrats will “betray” them do you?

And the Media…Well, CNN’s John King failed to ask Teamsters President Jimmy Hoffa about about his threatening “son of bitches” remark at a Labor Day rally attended by President Obama. The interview lasted just over six minutes and covered various topics from Obama’s upcoming jobs speech to Mitt Romney.

When he took the stage, President Obama said he was “proud” of Jimmy Hoffa and other labor leaders.

DNC Chairman says not only did the stimulus work but it “helped to turn the economy around.” Here’s what she said on “Morning Joe” this morning:

Willie Geist, MSNBC: “You mentioned infrastructure (“SPENDING”). You’re talking about a huge stimulus program, rebuilding bridges, roads, and schools, and everything else (mostly union jobs!). We already had a stimulus package that most Republicans deemed ineffective, almost a $1 trillion. What makes you think this time around that your fellow Congress people, people across the aisle from me, would go along with me this time if they didn’t think the last one worked?”

Debbie Wasserman Schultz, DNC Chair: “Well, the Republicans who think the Recovery Act (stimulus) didn’t work are simply wrong. The Recovery Act, as of the beginning of this year, created an additional 3.6 million jobs (saved or created government jobs you mean because you can’t create 3.6 million jobs and have a net loss of 2.4 million jobs since the stimulus unless your naive, stupid, ignorant, deliberately deceitful or just partisan). We have — the Recovery Act had a direct impact on making sure the teachers, firefighters, police officers were able to remain in their jobs (all government jobs paid for by taxpayers). It begun — it helped begin to turn the economy around. 50% of it was tax breaks to small businesses and to the middle class (talking point). So every economist you would talk to that is worth their salt acknowledges that without the Recovery Act we would not be continuing on the upswing (a Keynesian Liberal economist that is, everyone else doesn’t count). We would still be either stuck or spiraling downward (Yeah, like the unemployment rate that has gone up, ZERO Job growth for the first time in nearly 70 years, consumer confidence down and Congress’s approval rating is as bad now as it was under Bush- that’s a vast improvement! If this up, what’s down?). So the Republicans can’t make up their own facts (but Democrats will and The Mainstream Media will back them up). The bottom line is the Recovery Act had an impact.”

Oh, it had an impact alright. We went deeper in debt! And the Unemployment rate went UP. But the Unions got bailed out. GM, now co-owned by the Government and The Unions got bailed out. The government wants to sue the banks for the mortgage mess they created. The Monster is now suing Dr. Frankenstein for creating him.

But don’t worry, it’s all the Republicans and The Tea Party’s fault. 🙂

Has the axis of the Earth changed yet due to the amount of partisan spin?

<FOX> Host Gretchen Carlson asked several times for a response to what Hoffa said, however Wasserman Schultz kept saying that the American people want us to focus on “working together.” (do what the Democrats want, screw everything else!)

However, eventually Wasserman Schultz got fed up and asked “are you kidding me?” She continued: “Really Gretchen? How many times have you called out the coarse language at tea party rallies? Almost never,” she said.

Wasserman Schultz never directly addressed Hoffa’s comment.

There hasn’t been an “coarse” language at Tea Parties unless it was the SEIU crashing it or the fact that merely disagreeing passionately with Liberal Tax & Spend Keynesian Economics is “coarse” and “uncivil” to Democrats, that’s a given.

But yet again, the Democrats say the most outrageously inflammatory and bombastic things (Like calling people racists, terrorist, and that they can go to hell) and the Mainstream Media won’t call them on it and they won’t defend them, they’ll just slough them off as just more “partisanship” on the part of the questioner who dares to ask.

And it’s only September 2011, we still have 14 more months or this. Rejoice! 🙂

“Now, the fact is our economy is stronger when workers are getting paid good wages and good benefits. Our economy is stronger when we have broad-based growth and broad-based prosperity. That’s what unions have always been about, shared prosperity,” President Obama said to a union crowd in Detroit, Michigan. (Trust me, no they have not. I grew up in Michigan. Trust me THAT was the last thing on their minds!)

What he Means is redistribution. Everyone should be equal and if they are not we will force them to be.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his need (or needs)–Karl Marx 1875.

And government is the final arbiter of who wins and who loses. Who is Politically correct and who is not. What job is, what job isn’t. What food is, what food isn’t.

“”War is Peace” (War being the above comments by Unions)
“Freedom is Slavery” (to the government)
“Ignorance is Strength” (The Mainstream Media and “Education”)

And I think the Democrats and especially Obama have come up with a new one.

Hail Orwell!

Hail Orwell!

Hail Orwell!

Hail Orwell!

Since “the debt, say most economists, is only a long-term concern and the U.S. can borrow money right now at practically no interest,” ABC reporter Jim Avila contended the federal government “should launch a stimulus program as big as the one that was launched in World War II.”

Avila insisted “the non-political, overwhelming answer from a dominant majority of economists” as to what the government should do “is spend and build. Roads, bridges, schools. A $200 billion a year investment would produce two million jobs and lower unemployment by a point.”  Gee..I’ve heard this somewhere before…. 🙂

MSNBC’s Martin Bashir on a Congressman saying he was going to skip the President address on Thursday (Probably because we could recite it’s talking points already…) The anchor theorized, “I am asking you, are you able to be as disrespectful to the office of president by simply walking away from something that every member of the Congress is going to attend? Is that also because he’s black?”

The Democrats see everything that opposes them as racist, so I thought I had to throw that one in. 🙂 But you do have to consider the source, I mean MSDNC…what else would you expect.

The one thing I haven’t heard, maybe I just haven’t found it, was Hurricane Irene racist?

Then again… 🙂

First thing when I woke up I checked to see if my family was alright – then made some breakfast for my girlfriend who took shelter with me for the storm. Finally after a belly full we opened up yahoo and saw this:

What’s wrong with this picture? Surely this man is going through some undue hardship from the storm and is searching for help.

Not in America and not according to Yahoo news!

I thought to myself  – Self this is surely a series of photos that depict looting or vandalism or something horrid that people need to do to survive one of the worst storms of the century.

The article wasn’t but as usual the Liberal went off over the headline not the story itself. After all, they think in shallow, narcissistic sound bites anyhow.

Headline: Crime in the Wake of Hurricane Irene

Excerpt:  Community perceptions of police abuse, poverty, and other factors can lead to looting and riots and provide cover for true criminality. This is what we saw in London.

But because the guy in the photo, who was not looting (because the article was also about FLOODING), was black it has to be racism!

The real damage, of course, will be caused by the storm itself and by flooding

Even in America, it really is remarkable how little looting actually takes place (

Did the Liberal from Daily Kos stick around for this, or was his poisoned pen already scrawling out his bile in crayon long before then?

Apparently black men wading through two feet of water can’t be given the benefit of the doubt because that bike is just sooooo tempting. They can’t resist going after anything that isn’t tied down. Next they will be coming for the women and diapers.

No – Not in the least bit – Just racism.

What makes it even more galling is that just a few photos away we see this:

However this man enjoys the caption:

A man walks through flood water along the seawall in Battery Park as Hurricane Irene passes through New York, Sunday, August 28, 2011. Battery Park City and other areas in Lower Manhattan have been evacuated in advance of the storm. Seawater surged into the streets of Manhattan on Sunday as Tropical Storm Irene slammed into New York, downgraded from a hurricane but still unleashing furious wind and rain. The flooding threatened Wall Street and the heart of the global financial network.

Yahoo want’s us to come away with the impression:

Black people = Looters
White people = Quiet reflective souls.

Ugh – I need a shower.  Again. (Daily Kos)

I guess I was wrong. 🙂

So, just remember, Vote for the Democrats because the other guy/gal is a Racist!

And if challenge a Liberal, you’re a Racist!

Enjoy the next 14 months!! 🙂

A View to Kill

So how’s that “Hope and Change” working for you?

Can Harry Reid wait out the Tea Party?

The Senate majority leader seems to think so.

Reid blamed everything that ails Washington and the nation on Republicans. He slammed the GOP for its refusal to go along with tax increases as part of this month’s debt-ceiling deal, saying hard-core fiscal conservatives are making it impossible to strike a long-term deal that slows the growth of the national debt.

“(Senate Minority Leader) Mitch McConnell has done a good job bringing the country to a standstill,” Reid said.

The reason Republicans have drawn such a deep line in the sand on tax increases, of course, is the Tea Party movement. The populist uprising that was born from Washington’s bailouts achieved critical mass after Democrats decided to start spending like no government before. The stimulus. The ObamaCare overreach. Budget deficits that made President George W. Bush look like a piker.

Democrats were tossed from office in record numbers last November. That groundswell is shaping the 2012 campaign.

But Reid doesn’t expect it to last.

“The Tea Party was the result of a terrible economy,” he said. “I’ve said that many times, and I believe that.”

“That (the Tea Party) will pass. They will lose a number of seats next year.”

Reid has amassed his considerable power by never underestimating his adversaries. And he has been known to throw out strategic fibs to create misdirection.

However, Reid left the indelible impression Friday that as long as he’s leading the Senate Democrats, the Tea Party agenda is dead on arrival in his chamber.

But don’t worry, it’s the Republicans fault for not “compromising”. 🙂

In exchange for a modicum of reduced growth in federal spending, Reid said someone will have to pay more. There will be no reductions and entitlement reforms without tax increases.

But don’t worry, it’s the Republicans fault for not “compromising”. 🙂

He singled out the rich and oil companies as especially deserving of punishment.

But he’s not engaged in class warfare. 🙂

But budget deficits under Bush were in the $100 billion to $400 billion range, mostly related to the post 9/11 wars. The Obama administration — working with a Democratic House and Senate its first two years — set the course for budget deficits of more than $1 trillion into the distant future. Obama is on course to pile up more debt in three years than Bush did in eight.

But that’s Bush’s fault also, you know…

Echoing the sentiment of other Democrats and devoted Keynesians, Reid said the failed stimulus just wasn’t big enough. “I had $100 billion in infrastructure development in the bill, but I needed three Republican votes. Arlen Specter, Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins made me get rid of it.”

When in debt, spend even more (“Infrastructure”= Spending), and those damn Republicans screwed that up too! :0

Obama’s poll rating is the lowest yet, so it’s time to go on a campaign trip and say lots of flowery “centrist” things he doesn’t mean and try fake out people again.

And having the biggest campaign warchest in history and a complicit Liberal media to slag your opponents into a radioactive mess doesn’t hurt either.

After all, “Vote for Me , the other guy is an EXTREMIST! Asshole!”

Asked how Iowans view President Barack Obama, Michael Gartner, the President of NBC News from 1988 to 1993, insisted on this weekend’s Bloomberg TV’s Political Capital: “I think people have a fondness for him and I don’t think people blame him for anything that’s wrong in this country,” except, that is, “the far-right of the Republican Party.”

No media bias there.

“I think there’s a lot of time on radio and television and on the Web that actually is conservative points of view. There’s not a lot of time for the left,” long-time CNN executive David Bohrman, the new President of Current TV, the channel co-founded by Al Gore which is Keith Olbermann’s new home, laughably claimed late Sunday morning in a live interview on CNN’s Reliable Sources.“I also think that the left needs to recapture patriotism and not let the right own the flag and own patriotism” and even saw MSNBC’s prime time as too balanced.

NBC’anchor Brian Williams,“By all accounts the big meeting with his fellow Republicans is tense. In no uncertain terms the Speaker tells hardline conservatives, who are in no mood to compromise, to get in line behind his bill.”

Notice the labels. Somehow, Williams never spent a second on his Obama special asking the President how he was going to handle the demands of “hardline liberals” – or any kind of liberal, for that matter. The only hardliners are conservatives who want to stop the spending madness. What this country desperately needs are more “hardline conservatives” to dismay network anchormen. (Brent Bozell)

Remember, the only hardline, uncompromising people are the Tea Party and Conservative Republicans. 🙂

The “unbiased” Media says so it must be true. 🙂

Williams to Pelosi: “A liberal member said to me his fear is the poor are gonna get hurt and the rich are gonna get by without harm in this. Is that your fear?”

Pelosi preposterously proclaimed she had the entire country at heart, while the GOP only cared about the super rich: “My concern is for the great middle class and we want to have a resolution of this that is for 100 percent of the American people. Republicans want to have a resolution that is for the two percent.” (Bozell)

No bias here. 🙂
But just remember the Democrat mantra, “Vote for me, the other guy is an extremist asshole!”

Fell that “hope and change” Yes you can! 🙂
