7 Year Rash

Today is the 7th Anniversary of this blog. For a long time this year I considered making this one my last because, quite simply, The Stupid Have Inherited the Earth. Intelligence and Common Sense (let alone <gasp> Logic) are Politically Incorrect. Hell, some Leftists have decreed that just saying “politically incorrect” is Politically Incorrect. 😦

So instead I thought I’d revisit one of my favorites from the last 7 years.

This also goes out the #NeverTrump -ers who are so mindlessly obsessed with hating Donald Trump that they are willing Hillary into the White House.

Hate never felt so Right. 🙂

And a special shout out to the Sabotage Republicans (The Establishment ones and their followers) WHO ALSO want Hillary.

The Generations (and possibly permanent) of damage you want to inflict on what’s LEFT of this country is so short-sighted you deserve her.

It will be YOUR fault.

Agree with me or else!

To the future or to the past, to a time when thought is free, when men are different from one another and do not live alone — to a time when truth exists and what is done cannot be undone: From the age of uniformity, from the age of solitude, from the age of Big Brother, from the age of doublethink — greetings! -George Orwell

So with that in mind, cast your mindless adherence to January 21, 2012  and this Blog and see yourselves currently in it also.

THE ZOMBIE HOARD

They are just a zombie hoard.

Remorseless. Merciless. Incapable of shame, morals or ethics.

They want want what they want when they want it and because they want it and will do anything to get it. Relentlessly.

And what they want is YOU. You to be either converted or cow-towed to their every whim. To do whatever they want when they want it.

Evidence John King, the CNN Liberal Moderator of the South Carolina Debate. He opens the debate with a salicious question to Gingrich about his “open marriage” and Gingrich blows him to bits for it and the crowd goes wild.

He did this to prove his “courage” to stand up to the evil “right wingers” and puff out his chest that he was “journalist” and was going to bravely confront the issue. Meanwhile, anything remotely damaging to President Obama is ignored with great speed and spin.🙂

2016: Just Like they do with Hillary. The Debate will be set up to show that Trump is grumpy, unstable and mean. The fact that Hillary is a congenital, sociopathica Liar has no bearing on the debates whatsover.

Their will be more Candy Crowley moments than ever.

And the Zombie hoard will eat it up like candy. “Brains…”

“In times of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act”.- George Orwell.

And their has never been more deceit now than ever in American History and more mindless Zombie Hoards out to make sure “What difference does it make, anyways?”

Rush Limbaugh (who I rarely get a chance to listen to because of my work schedule): Now, let me tell you one thing here, folks: You cannot shame the mainstream media. If any of you are thinking that the media learned a lesson — if any of you believe that the media finally had it handed to ’em, if you believe that the media had their eyes opened and they are fully awake now and they understand what they’re dealing with — forget it. John King is proud of what happened last night. John King is a hero in the Main Street media because he didn’t back down, because he continued to illustrate how it is that the media does really control the agenda. That was a demonstration of the power they hold over every public figure’s head, that they choose to hold like a guillotine. John King… There may even be some jealousy and envy within the journalist ranks (well, not journalists; within the Democrat Party ranks) because John King is a guy that got in Newt’s face, stared him down — and the fact that Newt told him off? It’s a badge of honor. If you are thinking that John King was embarrassed and ran away with his tail tucked between his legs and learned his lesson and it’ll never happen again? Ah, ah, ah, ah. You cannot shame the mainstream media. They are proud of this. They delight in their power to destroy candidates that they don’t like.

And they don’t like anyone who doesn’t cow-tow to them.

2016: They made THEIR Choice. Now it’s you’re Zombie duty to vote for it or else.

“At the end of the day the message to every conservative who hasn’t run for office is: “You want a piece of this? You want some of this? You want Brian Ross hounding you and your ex-wife and then you want me asking you about it on national TV the next night? Come on in. We’re ready.” That’s the message from John King and CNN last night, and do not doubt me on this.”

2016: look at the evidence, every time new “evidence” comes out about Hillary they bury it. Every time Trump even raises his voice or say one less than perfect political phrase they are on it like flies on shit and they stick to it like super glue and blow it up.

mountain

So the alternative is to cow-tow. To live in fear of the Liberal wrath.

2016: To acquiesce. Given in, the Ministry of Truth has the system rigged.

Hell, the Democrats got caught rigging the Primary, blatantly.

No one really cared.

The Zombie Hoard just went, “oh” and moved on. The Media covered it up.

Debbie Wasserman-Schultz was sacrificed.

End of Story.

#2: Hillary is caught re-handed on the Email Scandal. The FBI even says so. But since Comey has connections to Clinton and doesn’t want to have a mysterious “accident” she is not prosecuted.

Future Hillary Supreme Court Nominee Loretta Lynch, Attorney General and Clinton Cronie refuses to prosecute her.

Other people not connected to Clinton aren’t so lucky.

David_Petraeus

And the reaction from the Zombie Hoard, “Yawn”.

Hillary is still leading in the Polls!

“Brains…”

The Food Police. The TSA. The EPA. The Justice Department. Homeland Security. The FCC.

Because if they can’t make you a zombie, they can at least make you a peasant in fear of your Masters who will not challenge them or not have the power to challenge them.

“[…]you don’t have to be Sun freakin Tzu to know that real fighting isn’t about killing or even hurting the other guy, it’s about scaring him enough to call it a day.”
― Max Brooks, World War Z: An Oral History Of The Zombie War

They’ll just turn your children into zombies instead. 12 years of Grade School and 4 years of College is a lot of Zombie Voodoo time after all. And “getting them while they are young” is entirely within the Zombie Liberal playbook. Make them a zombie before they even know what one is and then make them as immune as possible to any anti-virus and get them addicted to their own Kool-Aid. Feed it to them constantly through the Media and the Internet.

2016: They’ll DEMAND Segregation, “Safe Spaces”, “Diversity” and “Inclusion” mindlessly and will trample Free Speech because they don’t want to be “offended”.

FREEDOM IS SLAVERY

WAR (Class, Gender, Race, Religion) IS PEACE

IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH

Hell, even white people getting a tan will set the little zombie off…

What it does is illustrate that they can be dealt with. But you can’t beat ’em. They’re not gonna be shamed. They’re not going to be shamed into stopping the coverage of conservatives as they do it. It’s going to continue. No matter what kind of shame you think they suffer in a contest like that — no matter how much money they lose, no matter how many of them get fired, no matter how many magazines or TV stations or newspapers get shut down — they are not gonna change. They are hard-core, leftists”

And as I have said over and over again, they are have no morals or ethics because they are governed not by logic and reason but by emotions, mostly the most basic of primitive emotions, Fear, Lust (for power), anger, jealousy, ENVY, etc. –Raw emotions.

2016: THE END JUSTIFIES THE MEANS!

Which is why when you engage them they sound and act like an immature 5 year old. And as we all know from childhood development the child has to develop a sense of shame by have having boundaries and limitations and consequences. And if they don’t, they will grow up with little to no sense of shame.

disagree

2016: “Microaggressions” anyone?

They are usually called sociopaths. I can call them Liberal Zombies.

2016: And the #Never Trumpers and Establishment RINOs.

Liberals have no shame. They want what they want when they want it because they want it.

2016: And the #Never Trumpers and Establishment RINOs.

“…one of the upsides that isn’t gonna happen is the media saying, “Gosh, we’ve been so mean to these people and so unfair. You know, maybe we ought to start being fair.” That’s not going to happen.

Liberals talk about being “fair” which means you’re being unfair to them and should do what they want.

Liberals talk about “compassion” but it’s to make you feel guilty, not them, and to do what they want.

Liberals will talk about “bi-partisanship” but that just means you have to compromise your principles so they can do what they want.

“Diversity” means you’re evil and need to do what they say to repent for your sins.

2016: “Inclusion” Means you include everything THEY say and do it without hesitation.

They are a remorseless hoard. They want what they want when they want it and on their terms only.

Give them everything they want or they’ll cry, scream, bitch, moan, pout and lash out at you.

2016: “White Privilege” anyone?

That is their primitive zombie hoard mentality. And they want YOU.extremists

Get rid of one zombie, and 10 more will take it’s place. So you have to be ready to do battle constantly.

Look at 2010. The Democrats suffered the worst defeat in 80 years. Does it look like they learned ANYTHING?

No.

As a matter of fact the zombie hoard is even tighter, even more determined than ever. They want it EVEN MORE.

So if we defeat then in 2012 will they go away?

HELL NO!

2016: They weren’t defeated. Even more hoards joined them. So if they are beat in 2016 will they finally be defeated and go away.

HELL NO!

They will just keep coming back like a remorseless zombie hoard until you are overwhelmed.

Which is why you will have to fight them all of your days, your kids days and their kids days until the infection is wiped out.

But like any good zombie plaque it only takes 1 to re-ignite it and spread it all over again.

And these zombies have Media and Internet outlets! (and Europe!)

“Looking back, I still can’t believe how unprofessional the news media was. So much spin, so few hard facts. All those digestible sound bites from an army of ‘experts’ all contradicting one another, all trying to seem more ‘shocking’ and ‘in-depth’ than the last one. It was all so confusing, nobody seemed to know what to do.”
― Max Brooks, World War Z: An Oral History Of The Zombie War

“The only rule that ever made sense to me I learned from a history, not an economics, professor at Wharton. “Fear,” he used to say, “fear is the most valuable commodity in the universe.” That blew me away. “Turn on the TV,” he’d say. “What are you seeing? People selling their products? No. People selling the fear of you having to live without their products.” Fuckin’ A, was he right. Fear of aging, fear of loneliness, fear of poverty, fear of failure. Fear is the most basic emotion we have. Fear is primal. Fear sells.

We don’t have the luxury of old-world pillars. We don’t have a common heritage, we don’t have a millennia of history. All we have are the dreams and promises that bind us together. All we have…is what we want to be.”
― Max Brooks, World War Z: An Oral History Of The Zombie War

“…We were a shaken, broken species, driven to the edge of extinction and grateful only for tomorrow with perhaps a little less suffering than today. Was this the legacy we would leave our children, a level of anxiety and self-doubt not seen since our simian ancestors cowered in the tallest trees? What kind of world would they rebuild? Would they rebuild at all? Could they continue to progress, knowing that they would be powerless to reclaim their future? And what if that future saw another rise of the living dead? Would our descendants rise to meet them in battle, or simply crumple in meek surrender and accept what they believe to be their inevitable extinction? For this alone, we had to reclaim our planet. We had to prove to ourselves that we could do it, and leave that proof as this war’s greatest monument. The long, hard road back to humanity, or the regressive ennui of Earth’s once-proud primates. That was the choice, and it had to be made now.”

Stupid is as Stupid Votes Democrat

Mark Dice strikes again, exposing the absolute ignorance of what we on the right call “low-information” voters.

In a video posted to YouTube on Monday, Dice actually got Hillary Clinton supporters to endorse Islamic Sharia law in the United States.

The YouTube video description says:

Hillary Clinton supporters in California mindlessly agree with anything and everything Hillary supposedly says. In an experiment, media analyst Mark Dice tells Hillary fans that one of her primary campaign promises is to implement Sharia Law in America.

An architect of the federal healthcare law said last year that a “lack of transparency” and the “stupidity of the American voter” helped Congress approve ObamaCare.

“Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage,” Jonathan Gruber said. “And basically, call it the stupidity of the American voter or whatever, but basically that was really, really critical for the thing to pass.”

That’s also how you buy a You Tube Video inciting the Benghazi attack and believe it faithfully.

Children Grads

Universities need to stop giving students caps and gowns when they graduate. Instead, I recommend they give them helmets and wrap them in bubble wrap. The reason is that in college they become so weak and bruise so easily that there is little chance they can function in a free society without hurting themselves. In fact, many college students are too emotionally immature to encounter classic literature without becoming emotionally unraveled.

Everything offends them, especially disagreeing with them, that’s “disrespect” and if you’re white “racist”, heterosexual or Christian, you’re a “bigot”.

End of discussion.

Take Rutgers student Philip Wythe. Last year, he suggested that The Great Gatsby was so potentially traumatizing it should be accompanied by the following warning: “Suicide, Domestic Abuse, and Graphic Violence.” As Kirsten Powers aptly noted, “If (college students are) going to be traumatized by The Great Gatsby then they are going to find day-to-day life unbearable once they step outside the child-care programs that are passing for universities today.”

Students like Wythe don’t just wake up one day with the intellectual fortitude of a five-year old. It takes a lot of coddling to make these young adults as weak as preschoolers. One of the means by which this is achieved is the so-called campus free speech zone. These zones assume a default position that campus speech is disallowed until officially authorized.

An extreme example of this mentality was once found at the University of Cincinnati (UC). Their free speech restrictions limited discourse to a zone that was merely 0.1% of the physical area of the campus. In other words, students could traverse 99.9% of the campus without having to encounter potentially offensive speech. All speech was presumed to be unlicensed and prohibited in these areas. Fortunately, Young Americans for Liberty (YAL) successfully sued the school and overturned the broad ban on speech at UC.

But the damage has been done to the broader campus culture. Speech zones, which limit the amount of discourse, are combined with speech codes, which strike at the content of discourse. Arguably, the latter are more dangerous because they advance the notion that one has a right to be unoffended. This is the mentality that actually encourages young people to proactively suppress speech they find offensive.

And we are beginning to see the effects. Michael Bloomberg, himself no political conservative, noted this trend in a commencement speech at Harvard University. Speaking specifically about the trend towards silencing commencement speakers, he said, “In each case, liberals silenced a voice of individuals they deemed politically objectionable.”

Bloomberg almost got that one right. The people doing the silencing were not liberals. They were illiberal leftists. As Kirsten Powers points out in The Silencing, there is a big difference between the two. Liberalism presupposes tolerance of opposing views. In contrast, the illiberal leftist seeks to destroy dialogue. As Powers puts it, these illiberal leftists seek monologue on their side, and silence on the other side.

If you think Powers is exaggerating ask former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert. His planned 20-minute talk at the University of Chicago took over an hour as screaming protestors constantly interrupted him.

Or ask Israeli ambassador to the United States Michael Oren. He suffered ten interruptions and was forced to take a 20-minute break when he tried to give a speech at the University of California-Irvine.

Or ask Tom Tancredo who tried to give a speech at Michigan State University’s law school until angry protesters set off fire alarms. It was almost as bad as the time Tancredo tried to speak at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill while angry protesters actually broke windows during the middle of his speech.

The illiberal mob doesn’t always reserve its fanatical intolerance for campus visitors. They are equally likely to exhibit it towards members of their own university community. One of their most favored techniques is joining organizations they hate and then trying to subvert the core beliefs of the organization in an effort to get thrown out of the organization.

Why would they do such a thing? It’s simple. After they get thrown out of the organization, they try to have it shut down for being “discriminatory” or “non-inclusive.”

It is worth noting that this tactic is not new. The KKK used to employ it in the 1950s. Klansmen would actually try to join the NAACP in order to change the group’s core beliefs. They even went all the way to the Supreme Court in an effort to strip the NAACP of its tax-exempt status – all for refusing to reveal their membership lists so they could target and harass NAACP members en route to destroying the organization.

It is sad that contemporary campus “liberals” are actually using KKK tactics in their efforts to destroy campus organizations. Their targets are not black organizations. Their targets are usually Christian organizations that refuse to relinquish their deeply held religious views concerning sexual morality. Of course, these guerilla tactics are almost always implemented with the backing of university administrators who pass and then selectively enforce “non-discrimination” policies.

I am old enough to remember when the goal of a college education was to expand one’s horizons. Now the goal is to learn to be more emotionally volatile than the person whose ideas you seek to negate. As one of my readers recently put it, college is no longer providing a comprehensive education. It’s just a prep course for fascism.

AMEN.

Eventually, this mentality spreads to the larger culture. So employers beware. After graduation, these petulant children are headed for your workplace.

A Mosque See

While I was at the Phoenix Convention Center where 10’s of thousands of geeks and nerds are gathering to celebrate real diversity and community for Phoenix Comic Con…

The uber-uber-Liberal AZ Republic (know as “The Repulsive” by anyone not on the fringe Left) is stoking the embers of another Draw Mohammed fight that the Left hopes ends in violence.

A self-professed patriot (read: Muslim hater (emphasis mine, it was in the original piece)) is planning a rally tomorrow in front of a northwest Phoenix mosque.

All wrapped up in the American flag and the First Amendment, Jon Ritzheimer says he certainly doesn’t want to incite violence.

So naturally, he’s planning a Mohammed Cartoon Contest at his rally, which takes place tomorrow evening, right around the time of the mosque’s weekly prayer service.

Because he really wants to pick a fight and get people injured or killed. He’s a reckless, politically incorrect arsehole, right? 🙂

After all, to the Leftist there are ONLY two kinds of Speech: Their Approved Politically Correct Speech, and “Hate Speech” which is defined as anything that isn’t Approved Politically Correct Speech.

So you either abide by their rules of speech or you’re a “hater”. End of discussion.

Also, Muslim hate Christians, and Leftists hate Christians, so it’s marriage made of strange bedfellows, since the Islamic Radicals they are so worried about would kill them just as easily as a “hater”.

But the left looks past that and focuses on your “hate” not theirs. After all, they are the saintly ones.

“This will be a PEACEFUL protest in front of the Islamic Community Center …,” Ritzheimer wrote on a Facebook page set up for the event, Freedom of Speech Rally Round II. “People are also encouraged to utilize there (sic) second amendment right at this event just in case our first amendment comes under the much anticipated attack.”

Don’t you mean much hoped for attack, Jon?

Naw, the Left is the one who wants the attack, so they can go “see, we told ya so!” you’re a hater and you incited these Muslims with YOUR hate Speech!

Gee, I guess we need to order a Gay Cake and Pizza for the Leftists to feel better. 🙂

Everyone is encouraged to bring American Flags and any message that you would like to send to the known acquaintances of the 2 gunmen. This Islamic Community Center is a known place that the 2 terrorist frequented,” Ritzheimer wrote.

It’s also a known place where people of faith worship as they choose. We can do that in America, Jon.

Does that kind offer extended to Christians? Because we all know they HATE gays and they preach it from the pulpit so they are all evil!! 🙂

So I’m guessing a serious discussion about religion and freedom thereof is probably off the table during this rally.

The LEFT would actually engage in such a discussion without the usual holier-than-thou condescending emotive-only childish ad hominems and insults they usually hurl at “haters”? Not to mention going into it believing that anyone who disagrees with them is a “hater” and an “idiot” or “stupid” is always the best basis for a reasoned debate.

While it’s considered an insult to draw images of the Islamic prophet, I would certainly defend Ritzheimer’s right to do so if he was really making a stand for free speech. But this isn’t about free speech. It’s about provoking an attack and, of course, promoting Ritzheimer.

There’s a lot that could be said about this guy’s methods. But Usama Shami, speaking to Dana, already said it best, noting that he respects the protesters’ right to free speech.

“Everybody has a right to be a bigot. Everybody has a right to be a racist. Everybody has a right to be an idiot.”

‘Nuff said about “a serious discussion”. The Left is incapable of it.

I’m going back to the Convention Center today to celebrate life, diversity and love. I’m sure the world will not end, but the Left will sure try and make sound like it if you don’t kowtow their every command.

I’ll let the Left go on their quest for more and more bigots to shame into silence in the name of “tolerance” and “diversity”.

Oh, and that little thing called Free Speech. All speech, not just what’s approved by the Left.

The Coming Politically Correct Apocolypse

Orwell warned us all about the manipulation of language affecting thought. Orwell said that language makes humans easy to control—control their language and you control the people. But this one is mind-blowingly out of this world.

(yes, I know because I’m not connected at the jugular to social media  and drown in it’s minutiae this is several days old and has probably already flamed out)

University Apologizes to Illegal Aliens for Mexican Food at Sci-Fi Event

Here, we have another glaring example of self-victimization by, shockingly (sarcasm), college students. During a sci-fi themed event at Stevenson College, a residential college of the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC), students chose to be offended by (wait for it) the food provided.

The event staff deemed the theme to be “intergalactic” and decorated the room with spaceships and aliens. Focus on the “aliens.” The staff, wittingly or unwittingly, chose to cater the event with a Mexican food buffet, which students then linked the Mexican food with the theme of aliens.

Get it? They made a connection of goofy space aliens and illegal immigrants, specifically the term “illegal aliens.”

Good thing it wasn’t Blackened Chicken with Watermelon!!! 🙂

Wait, it gets better (or worse depending on how you receive this). Stevenson is APOLOGIZING for the “cultural insensitivity” of the event. Dr. Carolyn Golz, Student Life overseer, wrote a letter to students, particularly to undocumented students, apologizing for the connection students made.

“We would never want to make a connection between individuals of Latino heritage or undocumented students and “aliens” and I am so sorry that our College Night appeared to do exactly that.”

Dr. Golz will even require her staff to go through “cultural competence training” to make them more culture sensitive and inclusive.

“As a result of this incident, I will require cultural competence training for Programs staff, in addition to implementing mechanisms for future program planning that will ensure college programs are culturally sensitive and inclusive.”

“I am working closing with Donnae Smith, Coordinator for Diversity and Inclusion for Colleges, Housing and Educational Services (CHES) to continue to increase the cultural intelligence (CQ) of our staff,” she continues.

Once again reaching an olive branch to the undocumented (politically correct way of saying illegal immigrant) students, saying:

“As an ally for students of color and, in particular, undocumented students, I am committed to ensuring that student life staff receive the training necessary to make sure that this type of incident does not happen again at Stevenson.”

She even gave them a website where they could report any perceived hate or bias (http://reporthate.ucsc.edu/about/index.html). (Just don’t report any Liberals 🙂 ) So if you, or anyone you know, attend UCSC be sure you quiet your dissent against the ideas of open borders and your support for legal immigration policy.

Dr. Golz cares “about the individuals in our community and I want everyone to feel respected, included, and affirmed.”

Unless you’re a freedom-loving, law-abiding American citizen (natural-born or naturalized) who expects others to do the same.

Time for the next great Liberal crusade, banning “aliens” from any movie, book, or TV show because it’s “insensitive” and “racist”.

Just watch and see, Nothing. Because you won’t be allowed to think it in the first place.

According to Orwell, what will happen to any democratic society if clarity in language collapses? He predicts that the society itself will collapse. Bad use of language makes it easy for us to have foolish and absolutely incorrect ideas. Distorted language can distort us, corrupt us and make us so stupid we won’t know lies when we hear them. We won’t question our leaders. We won’t have the language tools to enable us to speak the truth. Turn on the major media TV news and listen to the politicians twisting truth into something unrecognizable—their words depending solely on a great vacancy between our ears—and you will (perhaps) have a Joycean epiphany, a moment of illumination that Orwell was right to warn us and that we as a people ignore him at our peril.

So Klingon to reality before it gets transported away from you forever.

Live Long Long and Forget!

Now time to offend the Swedish, The Canadians and French food…

Glib Profession

I am never short on appreciation for a David Rutz Supercut. Here is one we can all enjoy as Jonathan Gruber, after being caught on tape confessing his contempt for the American people and bragging about his intellect, must pretend that, yes, he is indeed contemptuous of the American people and callous about their lives, but that contempt is born of carelessness and ignorance, not calculation and superiority. I have to imagine that was the worst part of this for Gruber—for a man of such high self-regard to lower himself to careless and ignorant to excuse his actions.

He knew exactly what he was saying when he said it the first time. It’s essentially the job description of someone like Gruber to have the utmost confidence in his superiority to the hoi polloi and confer upon them his wisdom in the form of policy. Gruber stays one step away from the electoral accountability the now-decimated Democratic Senatorial ranks must face and gets paid well for sending them into battle with his flawed plan. Now, I concede we need people who study policy, who know the byzantine ins and outs of the federal government, and know how to make some policies succeed within its often toxic confines and turf wars. Even if a policy, say a simple regulatory revision that takes down some barriers, doesn’t attempt outsized social engineering, someone has to know how to usher it through the monster we’ve created.

This is why I tend to think one should keep his goals simpler when navigating the bureaucratic mess that is the federal government than bringing in some 35 agencies to totally remake 1/6 of the American economy while promising every single person in the country their costs will go down and they’ll see zero negative effects. Gruber and his allies did anything but keep it simple, but they believe in themselves and the infallible ability of the federal government to “do big things.” They lied about the things Americans wouldn’t like, which Americans sniffed out from Day One, and epically botched one of the arguably simpler parts of the process. Ironically, a conservative in charge of building HealthCare.gov would have doubted the federal government’s ability on this front a whole lot sooner (like someone I know did in 2012…)and maybe been able to salvage at least a working website for under $1 billion in taxpayer money.

But it’s Gruber’s job to know what’s best for you, and he’s rather glib about the consequences. He has the money to avoid them because Congress paid him a bunch of money to create them. It’s his job just like it’s IRS Commissioner John Koskinen’s job to be utterly contemptuous of the American people and the damage the IRS may have done to them.

A Washington Post reporter wrote up Congresswoman’s Cynthia Lummis’ story about her husband fairly after the Gruber hearing, calling it the most emotional moment of the day. It was because it connected Gruber with the potential human consequences of all his faulty architecture. Get over your damn glibness, Lummis told Gruber. He can’t. It’s his job. (IBD)

Hi! I’m with Dishonest!

Well, the Democrats proved just how petty, petulant, and completely untrustworthy they are for the non-ignorant world to see when they released the so-called “torture” report. So called by them, of course.

They proved they cannot be trusted with anything. They will sell you out in a heart beat for political advantage or just petty vindictiveness.

This was a “screw you” move designed to embarrass their devil incarnate, George W Bush, but make them look like Edward Snowden in their heads. They were “exposing” the real truth.

The real truth is, they exposed that they are totally untrustworthy. They are vindictive, petty, petulant and will stab you in the back in a micro-second for any political advantage or petulant “payback”.

The report spends little time condemning torture on moral or legal grounds. Instead, it addresses mainly a practical question: Did torture accomplish anything of value? Looking at case after case, the report answers with an unqualified no. (NYT)

SHOCK AND AWE! The Democrats found that Bush “torture” was ineffective! Never heard that narrative meme before now… 🙂

Former Sen Bob Kerry (D): “I do not need to read the report to know that the Democratic staff alone wrote it. The Republicans checked out early when they determined that their counterparts started out with the premise that the CIA was guilty and then worked to prove it.” (USA Today)

A U.N. human rights expert said a report that the U.S. Senate released on Tuesday revealed a “clear policy orchestrated at a high level within the Bush administration” and called for prosecution of U.S. officials who ordered crimes, including torture, against detainees. (Reuters)

So what do we get? Exactly what the Democrats wanted. Gee, I wonder how that happened. And the UN spouts off yet again. Surprise!

And proves the Democrats will do or say anything to get what they want, when they want it, and because they want it, and if you get in their way they will stab you in the back in a heartbeat. It’s all about them.

On Tuesday morning, the C.I.A. acknowledged problems in the early months of the program but suggested that they had been fixed. “The study as a whole leads the reader to believe that the management shortcomings that marked the initial months persisted throughout the program, which is historically inaccurate,” the agency said. (NYT)

Geez, it’s not like it was an Internet Video that caused it and they tried to cover it up!! 🙂

Gee, It’s not like Obamacare, after all, where NO Republican actually voted for it and we got it anyways. 🙂

Or Jonathan “You’re Stupid” Gruber. 🙂

“As far as I can tell, we are here today to beat up on Jonathan Gruber for stupid — I mean absolutely stupid — comments he made over the last few years,” he began, staring angrily at the hapless professor.

“Let me be clear, I am extremely frustrated with Dr. Gruber’s statements,” Elijah Cummings (D) continued. “They were irresponsible, incredibly disrespectful, and did not reflect reality. And they were, indeed, insulting.”

“I was in Congress when this law was debated, and Dr. Gruber does not speak for me, or the chairman of the other committees who worked tirelessly on this bill,” he said. “We debated this legislation for nearly a year before it was finally passed and signed by the president! Never once did I believe or did anyone suggest that we were somehow hiding our goals from the American people.

Oh, but you were Congressman, that was the point. But at least time your goal was very, very clear….Almost TRANSPARENT! 🙂

“But worst of all,” the ranking member concluded, “Dr. Gruber’s statements gave Republicans a public relations gift in their relentless political campaign to tear down the ACA and eliminate health care for millions of Americans!”

Yes, Congressman, opposing ObamaCare means we want people to have no insurance whatsoever and “just die” just like interrogating captured terrorists didn’t lead to information that saved American lives like getting Bin Laden.

Yes, Congressman, The Democrats have been laid bare for all to see. Those that want to see and but also what the Liberal Media will allow them to see. 🙂

Now’s that “transparency” 🙂

Stuck on Stupid

One thing I’m fond of saying on the radio is “Stupid spreads like a cold on a plane.” Mostly because it does. And mostly because that “stupid” is generally some progressive idea of governance, some plan or proposal to “fix” whatever the issue du jour happens to be. Generally, it’s a problem government action helped create in the first place. There’s always something, isn’t there?

Have you heard of the VMT? It stands for vehicle miles traveled, and it is progressives’ latest attempt to plug ever-growing state budget gaps caused by, alas, progressive policies.

VMT is being tested in Washington and Oregon as a “voluntary” alternative to state gas taxes. California is considering following suit. In exchange for a rebate of the gas taxes you paid—more than 50 cents per gallon in California—drivers agree to pay a per-mile tax.

There are some catches, as there always are.

First, you have to pay the gas tax when you buy your gas and wait for a rebate, which is akin to giving the government an interest-free loan till your rebate arrives. Also, at least I’d imagine, you have to have a stockpile of receipts. Lose some or all of them and you’re out of luck. Governments aren’t known for accepting the honor system when it comes to you getting your money back.

But, most importantly, you have to allow the government to track your odometer or install a GPS tracking device in your car so they can record every mile you drive, and every place. Right now it’s an option, but wearing seatbelts used to be an option too. Now, seatbelts are a primary offense—you can be pulled over if police see you not wearing one. In other words, things can change.

So why the VMT over the gas tax? Well, it seems the government, which set up the gas tax to pay for road maintenance, isn’t collecting enough money to meet those needs. Governments need you to buy gas, and lots of it, to cover their costs. And since the federal government is mandating ever-higher CAFE standards, this means cars go farther on less gas, which means less money to the states. Add to that state and federal incentivizing of electric and hybrid cars and you being to see the problem—less revenue but the same amount of wear and tear on the roads.

Although the VMT would raise more money for states (you didn’t really expect them to be doing this if it didn’t, did you?), it would, quite humorously, hit the very people who have been incentivized to buy electric and hybrids in the first place.

The current gas tax in Oregon is 30 cents per gallon, and the VMT is 1.5 cents per mile. That means if your car gets 30 miles per gallon, you pay 30 cents in taxes for those 30 miles. But, under the VMT, that same driver would pay 45 cents for those 30 miles, a full 50 percent increase in the gas tax. Some people like this idea because, even though they’re paying more, the refund aspect perverts the real impact. It feels like you’re getting a deal because you’re getting money back, even though you’re ultimately paying more. As the president is fond of saying, “It’s math.”

Electric and hybrid cars use less gas, which means those drivers with “Coexist,” “Obama/Biden” and “Love Mother Earth” bumper stickers will be hardest hit. They paid a premium for those cars—albeit one for which they got a tax break—not only so they could be “green” but so they wouldn’t get hammered at the pump.

Meanwhile, drivers of “dirty” cars—SUVs, Hummers, etc.—would get massive tax breaks.

I imagine that’s the opposite of the good karma the “Greenies” were looking for when they bought into the over-priced “save the planet” racket. It’s enough to make you laugh…almost.

But this is how government works. It creates a problem, then offers a solution. Meanwhile, that solution creates more problems, for which the government offers even more solutions. The ever-growing snake eats its own tail.

There’s a problem here, though. The normal solution when Democrats find themselves in this position is to blame Republicans. It’s usually pretty easy considering how horrible at messaging Republicans are. But these are states controlled by Democrats. They have no one to blame but themselves.

The normal solution for this situation would be for Democrats to simply raise the gas tax. It’s not like Democrats have an aversion to raising taxes. But Democrats have painted themselves into a corner on this issue.

Democrats are stuck with choices they don’t want to make: 1.) Raise the gas tax, which is wildly unpopular and regressive, so it will hurt the poor and hit the hated SUV drivers, but will appease their “green” supporters who overpaid for their cars to “save the planet.” 2.) Institute a VMT and run the risk of alienating “green” supporters who overpaid for their cars by giving a tax break to the very drivers they most hate, and hurt the poor because they tend to have to drive to other neighborhoods for work. 3.) Let roads continue to fall apart and annoy everyone; or 4.) Cut spending and/or replenish/stop raiding transportation trust funds so maintenance can happen.

None of these options are within the natural comfort zone of Democrats, so they’re scrambling. It will be fun to watch, especially if you don’t live in one of these states. But these states are not unique, they’re just first. This stupidity will spread to your state soon enough, just like bans on electronic cigarettes, trans fats and plastic bags. Just like that cold on a plane, there is no cure for the common stupid. (Derek Hunter)

Stupid is as Stupid does, Life is like a box of government snakes…One is eventually going to bite you in asp! 🙂

America’s Stupidiest

Democrats terrify Hispanics into thinking they’ll be lynched if they vote for Republicans, and then turn around and taunt Republicans for not winning a majority of the Hispanic vote.

This line of attack has real resonance with our stupidest Republicans. Which explains why Republicans are devoting all their energy to slightly increasing their share of the Hispanic vote while alienating everyone else in America.

It must be fun for liberals to manipulate Republicans into focusing on hopeless causes. Why don’t Democrats waste their time trying to win the votes of gun owners?

Because, “Vote for Me (Democrat), the other guy’s an asshole!” is working so well you don’t have to worry about ANYTHING you’re doing. You get a free pass because the other guy’s an asshole! 🙂

And the stupid, low-information moron will fall for it!

And the more informed voters will think, “god, that’s really stupid!”.

So you get a 2-fer and you can do anything you want because no one care what you’re doing… 🙂

As journalist Steve Sailer recently pointed out, the Hispanic vote terrifying Republicans isn’t that big. It actually declined in 2012. The Census Bureau finally released the real voter turnout numbers from the last election, and Hispanics came in at only 8.4% of the electorate, not 10% as claimed by the pro-amnesty crowd.

The sleeping giant of the last election wasn’t Hispanics; it was elderly black women, terrified of media claims that Republicans were trying to suppress the black vote and determined to keep the first African-American president in the White House.

Contrary to expectations, 10% more blacks voted in 2012 compared to 2008, even beating white voters, the usual turnout champions. Eligible black voters turned out at a rate of 66.2% vs. 64.1% of eligible white voters. Only 48% of eligible Hispanic voters went to the polls.

No one saw this coming, which is probably why Gallup had Romney up by 5 points before Hurricane Sandy hit, and up by 1 point in its last pre-election poll after the hurricane.

Only two groups voted in larger numbers in 2012 compared to 2008: blacks aged 45-64, and blacks over the age of 65 — mostly women.

In raw numbers, nearly twice as many blacks voted as Hispanics, and nine times as many whites voted as Hispanics. (Ninety-eight million whites, 18 million blacks and 11 million Hispanics.)

So, naturally, the Republican Party’s entire battle plan going forward is to win slightly more votes from 8.4% of the electorate by giving them something they don’t want.

As columnist Byron York has shown, even if Mitt Romney had won 70% of the Hispanic vote, he still would have lost. No Republican presidential candidate in at least 50 years has won even half of the Hispanic vote.

In the presidential election immediately after Reagan signed an amnesty bill in 1986, the Republican share of the Hispanic vote actually declined from 37% to 30% — and that was in a landslide election for the GOP. Combined, the two Bush presidents averaged 32.5% of the Hispanic vote — and they have Hispanics in their family Christmas cards.

John McCain, the leading amnesty proponent, won only 31% of the Hispanic vote, not much more than anti-amnesty Romney’s 27%. Amnesty is a gift to employers, not employees. The (pro-amnesty) Pew Research Hispanic Center has produced poll after poll showing that Hispanics don’t care about amnesty. In a poll last fall, Hispanic voters said they cared more about education, jobs and health care than immigration. They even care more about the federal budget deficit than immigration!

Also, note that Pew asked about “immigration,” not “amnesty.” Those Hispanics who said they cared about immigration might care about it the way I care about it — by supporting a fence and E-Verify.

Who convinced Republicans that Hispanic wages aren’t low enough and what they really need is an influx of low-wage workers competing for their jobs?

Maybe the greedy businessmen now running the Republican Party should talk with their Hispanic maids sometime. Ask Juanita if she’d like to have seven new immigrants competing with her for the opportunity to clean other people’s houses, so that her wages can be dropped from $20 an hour to $10 an hour.

A wise Latina, A.J. Delgado, recently explained on Mediaite.com why amnesty won’t win Republicans the Hispanic vote — even if they get credit for it. Her very first argument was: “Latinos will resent the added competition for jobs.”

But rich businessmen don’t care. Big Republican donors — and their campaign consultants — just want to make money. They don’t care about Hispanics, and they certainly don’t care what happens to the country. If the country is hurt, I don’t care, as long as I am doing better! This is the very definition of treason.

Hispanic voters are a small portion of the electorate. They don’t want amnesty, and they’re hopeless Democrats. So Republicans have decided the path to victory is to flood the country with lots more of them!

It’s as if Republicans convinced Democrats to fixate on banning birth control to win more pro-life voters. This would be great for Republicans because Democrats will never win a majority of pro-life voters, and about as many pro-lifers care about birth control as Hispanics care about amnesty.

But that still wouldn’t be as idiotic as what Republicans are doing because, according to Gallup, pro-lifers are nearly half of the electorate. Hispanics are only 8.4% of the electorate.

And it still wouldn’t be as stupid as the GOP pushing amnesty, because banning birth control wouldn’t create millions more voters who consistently vote against the Democrats.

Listening to Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus burble a few weeks ago on “Fox News Sunday” about how amnesty is going to push the Republicans to new electoral heights, one is reminded of Democratic pollster Pat Caddell’s reason for refusing to become a Republican:

No matter how enraged he gets at Democratic corruption, he says he can’t bear to join such a stupid party as the GOP. (Ann Coulter)

The Actual Report Card

During President Barack Obama’s first term, the number of Americans collecting federal disability insurance increased by 1,385,418 to a record 8,827,795.

As a result, there is now one person collecting disability in this county for every 13 people working full-time (and that of course is also flat as the unemployment rate in Jan 2009 and the unemployment rate now are the same- The u6 for underemployment is actually higher than in Jan 2009). Forty-two years ago, in December 1968, there were 51 people working full-time in this country for each person collecting disability.

But don’t worry, that was GW Bush’s Fault! like everything else that’s bad about our newly Re-coronated King.

The number of Americans age 16 or older who decided not to work or even to seek a job increased by 8,332,000 to a record 88,839,000 in President Barack Obama’s first term, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

At the same time, the number of retired workers collecting Social Security increased by only 4,234,480.

The increase in Americans opting out of the labor force during Obama’s first term resulted in a decrease in the labor force participation rate from 65.7 percent in January 2009, the month Obama was first inaugurated, to 63.6 percent in December 2012, the latest month reported. Before Obama took office, the labor force participation rate had not been as low as 63.6 percent since 1981, the year President Ronald Reagan took over from President Jimmy Carter.

To be in the labor force a person must either have a job or actively sought one in the previous four weeks.

So I guess those millions of jobs “saved or created” wasn’t that fantastic after all… 🙂

In the comparable period of George W. Bush’s second term, the number of Americans choosing not to participate in the labor force went from 76,808,000 in January 2005 to 80,380,000 in December 2012—an increase of 3,572,000.

But Bush is the spawn of the Devil himself and he caused all of this so this must be a lie told by right wing extremists! Because everyone who is “intelligent” knows that everything in the world went to hell after he was elected. 🙂

President Barack Obama averaged a 49.1 percent job approval during his first term in office, among the lowest for post-World War II presidents, according to a new Gallup poll.

Only Jimmy Carter and Gerald Ford had lower job approval averages in their first terms, Gallup reported. (CNS)

Now that’s good company! 🙂

So 49% approved and 50% voted for him.  And it had been Lower than Carter’s (aka the lowest on record since WWII) in 2011.

Wow! that’s tight. No wonder he ran the dirtiest, nastiest, ugliest smear campaign in probably 150 years.

It was vote for me The Unpopular or Vote for my Opponent — The Evil Rich White Asshole!

And the stupid people fell for it!

When the Bush tax cuts and War on Terror went into effect, the debt as a dollar amount rose, but as a percentage of GDP it remained fairly stable.   It was only when the financial crisis hit that the debt exploded.  So, it’s not mathematically possible that policies that were put into place nearly seven years prior to the debt exploding, could be responsible for its rise.

The left is simply cherry-picking the policies–expenditures in their minds– that it likes the LEAST, from the time prior to Obama taking office and using them to deflect the blame away from things like the stimulus, the growth of welfare spending and the failure of liberal economic policies to stimulate economic growth.

Think about it this way.  The amount of money taken out of the general fund each year to pay for Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security is more than the cost of any one year of the Bush Tax cuts or the was in Iraq and Afghanistan when they were at their peak.

By the left’s standards, you could pin just as much blame for the debt increase on the presidents who passed those entitlement programs.  But, you don’t hear President Obama pinning the blame on LBJ or FDR for the $5 Trillion in new debt that we’ve accumulated since he took office. (CNS)

So in closing, a Little Comedy:

And this is funny:

They are having  a 3/5 sale! 🙂

Now if that doesn’t offend the hyper-sensitive Left I don’t know what will.

I know, George W, Bush!  That always works! 🙂

And be nice to the IRS when they come a knocking. 🙂

Welcome Comrade to the Disunited Socialist States of Amerika.

The Hardcore Ideologue Wins. So he’s going to have give succor to his minions.

More Gridlock.

Less Freedom.

More hell.

More of the Same.

Winning after the most divisive campaign in memory, Barack Obama now must find a way to make the scorched earth bloom. That is, if he even tries.

At times like these, after a bitter and hard-fought election, it’s customary to talk about burying the hatchet, reaching across the aisle — pick your metaphor. It dawns on politicians that the public is sick of division and wants them to work together for the good of the country.

This time is different, at least from our vantage point. Had Mitt Romney won the election, he would be reaching out to the other side already, without being told to. But Barack Obama is not that kind of politician or man. He thrives on division and reflexively demonizes his opponents. When this behavior brings him a victory, as it did on Tuesday, we can only expect more of the same from him.

To that extent, the old “hope and change” of 2008 has devolved into “no change.” The American people, by a slim majority, have chosen to go through four more years of a presidency that doesn’t seem to have a clue about bipartisanship. What’s worse this time is that America has lost four precious years to work out the tax and entitlement reforms it needs to ward off fiscal disaster. Another four years of gridlock brings national bankruptcy that much closer. Then there’s the dead weight of ObamaCare, which will soon hit the economy with full force.

The next four years would be challenging even for a popular and politically masterful president. Obama is neither, and his nasty campaign has only made his job harder. If he wants to get something done for the good of the country, he will have to find a way to conciliate.

Or he may choose not to, but rather to stay on the attack. If so, his next target is likely to be the House of Representatives.

The election left the House firmly in Republican hands. Until that changes, the GOP can block the advance of Obama’s progressive agenda (at least that part of the agenda requiring laws rather than executive orders). It can also harass the Obama administration with investigations and hearings into scandals that were kept out of the spotlight before the election by the pro-regime media. As long as Republicans keep their House majority and its hold on committee chairs, it can keep bringing up Benghazi, Fast and Furious, FEMA’s incompetent response to Superstorm Sandy and much else.

Scandals aside, Obama will have other reasons to drive the GOP from its last beachhead. He owes his base some favors for its work in dragging him across the finish line. Unions will want another try at card check. Environmentalists will push for cap-and-trade and a tighter clampdown on coal. The left wing of his party will want to gut defense and ramp up social spending; he’ll be happy to go along, if he can. He also knows that, if he can’t get a clear shot at passing his progressive agenda in 2014, he will not get a second chance.

Our hope, what’s left of it, is that the president might be slightly chastened by his close call and may at least try to build a robust coalition with the political center. Experience argues otherwise, though. The Republican Party must be willing to compromise when it is truly in the national interest to do so, but it also should be ready to fight for the Constitution, free enterprise and individual liberty.

H.L. Mencken once said, “Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard.” The voters could well suffer a bleak fate from their decision this week. But they may have thrown themselves a lifeline by keeping power divided in Washington. Gridlock is a bad way to govern, but it’s not the worst.

But SuperStorm Obama and his Leftist Cronies are coming to get you my pretty!
I’m am Barack Obama, you tried to kill my brothers, prepare to die!
Now onto 2014 to destroy the Republican House Majority that will “obstruct” him.
The last bastion of resistance must be crushed!
Resistance is Futile!
You Will Be assimilated!
It’s a great victory for the stupid.
Congrats, Mr President. You are Winner of Survivor D.C.
Obama: “Tonight, you voted for action, not politics as usual,” he said. (The results say otherwise. It was for more of the same)
“I believe we can seize this future together, because we are not as divided as our politics suggest. … We are greater than the sum of our individual ambitions,” he insisted. (But not greater than HIS Ambitions)

Hogwash!  This is the same guy who called for civility after the Tucson shooting. That lasted just hours. And his campaign against Romney was anything but civil.
Fool you once, shame on him.
Fool you twice, shame on YOU!
Well, I guess “It’s Bush’s Fault” just got a 4 year extension on life.

Anyone for Benghazi? 🙂

Perception is Reality

Doctor Who Premieres Tonight! Yeah! 🙂

The Congressional Budget Office released its updated economic forecast on Wednesday, predicting that the U.S. deficit will hit $1.1 trillion by the end of this year.

So for the FOURTH YEAR IN A ROW the Democrats spend even more than they take in. But don’t worry, that”s the Republicans/Bush’s fault.
And the Solution: Tax the evil greedy hoarding rich! 🙂
The fact that someone as “smart” and as “good” as him is, after years, totally unable to do anything substantive about this poor economy is not his fault either.
He needs 4 more years and after that they won’t have the ability to oppose them so it will all good.
Political Cartoons by Chip Bok

If there was any doubt from skeptics about the complicity of the Obama administration in creating and directing the “new” General Motors –a.k.a Government Motors- the latest ballyhoo regarding sales figures and the Chevy Volt should convince even the doubters.

GM: Aug. Volt sales best yet says the Detroit News.

The Volt, through August, will have sales of 13,300, compared to 15,600 total sales of the Prius in 2001.

2001!!! You’re kidding right?  I suppose this is the Give us 11 years and we’ll sell like the Prius does…What a crock!

GM was forced to idle Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly for two stretches earlier this year because of sluggish demand for the Volt.

GM abandoned its 2012 U.S. sales forecast of 45,000 Volts, saying it would instead match supply to meet demand.

Sales of the plug-in Chevy Volt hit 7671 for calendar year 2011.

So they wanted to sell  45,000 this year (10,000 was the 2011 goal that they didn’t meet either) but have barely sold 20,000 in 2 years!

Toyota said its first-half Corolla sales total is 603,840.

GM Expects Volt Sales to Set Monthly Record says the normally sane Wall Street Journal.

Chevy Volt broke monthly sales record in August reports the Associated Press.

This is the point where the Liberal Greenie-Weenies want you to go “Wow!” I need to buy one they are so popular! 🙂

But like a lot of claims coming from Obama or one his corporate surrogates, the Volt sales numbers surely aren’t signs of success, but rather just the opposite. And if the doublespeak doesn’t point to government involvement in the development, sale and ultimate failure of the Volt, it certainly betrays a government mentality that believes that perception matters more than results.

And the difference between Obama’s perception and the actual results in our economy is the chasm where all of our jobs have gone.

Because General Motors has sold only half the number of Volts that they said they would this year, and the company is idling the Volt production line to retool it for a car that’s actually selling: the Chevy Impala. (John Ransom)

And do you know what car is dueling it out with Toyota for the best selling car in the word: The Ford Focus. Ford, didn’t take any bailout money.

But the Electirc version of the Focus: For now, Ford’s chief says he’d be fine moving fewer than 5,000 Focus EVs in the model’s first full year.(Green autoblog).

General Motors has shut down its hybrid program for company’s next-generation of full-size pickup trucks and sport-utility vehicles. Currently, the Chevrolet Silverado, Tahoe, GMC Sierra, Yukon and Cadillac Escalade all use the two-mode hybrid technology.

Historically, the two-mode hybrid models have not sold well, and only yield minor improvements in overall fuel economy. In most applications, the two-mode hybrid system is rated at 20 miles per gallon in the city and 23 mpg highway.

GMI reports that it’s unusual for programs like this to be shut down so close to the launch of a new vehicle – the next-generation trucks/SUVs are scheduled to debut for the 2014 model year – but that many sources within GM are not surprised about the move. These new full-size hybrids were reportedly supposed to use an updated two-mode system, featuring a smaller displacement V8 engine, upgraded battery storage (using a more modern lithium-ion pack) and revamped electric motors, according to GMI.

When contacted by Autoblog, a GM spokesperson only stated that the automaker could “not comment on future products or related technologies.”(GREEN AUTOBLOG)

Perception is reality with Liberals and than means that they have to make you perceive perception not reality.

And this week the DNC has there convention which will be Orwell personified and about as Unreal and surreal as anything PT Barnum or Lewis Carroll could possibly write.

And the Leftist media that desperately did not want to broadcast the RNC convention will be slobbering and drooling all over themselves.

And the Perception: That they aren’t as radical as they are and that the Republicans are more radical than they are.

Or as Leftist author called the RNC Convention, “better known as the Gathering of Pasty White People,”….

After all, Perception is Reality.

And there are No Republicans other that Tired, old, rich, white guys after all.

FEAR IS HOPE!

…consider what this adds to the conversation about abortion and more generally, this election: nothing, actually.

First of all, it falsely implies that Mitt Romney shares the Republican Party’s platform on abortion, which he does not. He’s in favor of it in cases of rape, incest, and if the mother’s life in endangered. Calling it “Romney and Ryan’s GOP,” however, clearly ties the candidate to a position that he has stated he will not support in office.

Second of all, the crude imagery of a woman staring at a hanger in a closet, contemplating that this is her only recourse for an abortion, runs totally contra to the supposed “civility” Obama desires. If this ad starts running in swing states near you, and our president doesn’t issue some sort of statement denouncing it, then one can only assume he doesn’t have a problem with the message and imagery. New tone, indeed. And in terms of persuading swing voters, the extremism on display in this ad will absolutely have the support of the Sandra Flukes of the world, but probably not your average suburban mom. She might be pro-choice, but she’s likely to find the tone off-putting and exaggerated.

Third, the Left’s obsession with abortion these days is creepy and pathetic. If they don’t feel confident that the nation will accept Obama’s economic ideology — which, clearly, they don’t, since they won’t talk about it — then their guy doesn’t deserve to be reelected. My grandmother always says, “Do today your nearest duty,” and right now, that’s the economy. Families aren’t hurting because of infringement on their “right” to an abortion; they’re hurting because many are down a paycheck thanks to high unemployment, and too much in taxes comes out of the paychecks they do receive. Address the issue at hand — the one that Americans care about — and stop trying to distract from the conversation with offensive, hyperbolic messaging. Besides, one of these days, the average American female voter will get sick of being reduced to her anatomy; it’s best to have something substantive to say about other “women’s” issues, too. (Katie Hicks)

FEAR IS HOPE

Perception is reality.

War is Peace.

Freedom is Slavery.

Ignorance is Peace.

All Hail Big Brother!

All Hail King Obama I!!!

Time’s Mark Halperin wrote last week that “Obama can’t win if he can’t swing the conversation away from the economy.” That’s a pretty amazing admission. The economy is the No. 1 issue on the minds of voters, and, beyond that, the central reality of Obama’s America. But to win the president has to steer clear.

That doesn’t leave a lot else. Hence, the racism of golf, the war on women, the carcinogenic properties of Mitt Romney. Democrat strategy 1992: It’s the economy, stupid. Democrat strategy 2012: It’s the stupidity, economists. (mark Steyn)

3 Rules

“You know, he left out some facts. His speech was more like a cowpie of distortion,” Obama said to hoots of laughter from a crowd of 2,500 inside the Knapp Center at the Iowa State Fairgrounds.

Very Mature. Very Presidential.

Politics Rule #1: Get Elected.

Rule #2: Get Re-elected.

Rule #3: Everything else must work for rule #1 and 2.

“Five trillion in new tax cuts? That is like trying to put out a prairie fire with some gasoline,” the president said.

Yeah, $6 Trillion in spending and millions out of work has worked out very well for all of us so far.

“What happens is the Republicans run up the tab, and then we’re sitting there, and they’ve left the restaurant and then they point, ‘Why’d you order all those steaks and martinis?’ ” he said. “What he did not also tell you was that after inheriting a trillion-dollar deficit, I signed $2 trillion of spending cuts into law, so now I want to finish the job.”-Obama

See yesterday’s blog to discover how dishonest this line of attack is. But it’s not like they care.

“But what my opponent didn’t tell you is that federal spending since I took office has risen at the slowest pace of any president in almost 60 years,” he said.

Again, see yesterday’s blog to see just how dishonest this truly is.

But since it’s the only “economic” meme he can run on because the honest truth is not something he or the liberal media will talk about it’s all he’s got.

And he’s praying you are stupid enough to believe him.

Like in 2008 if he tells the same lies over and over again the Liberal Media will make it the truth.

In his 1995 memoir “Dreams of My Father,” Obama writes about smoking pot almost like Dr. Seuss wrote about eating green eggs and ham. As a high school kid, Obama wrote, he would smoke “in a white classmate’s sparkling new van,” he would smoke “in the dorm room of some brother” and he would smoke “on the beach with a couple of Hawaiian kids.”

He would smoke it here and there. He would smoke it anywhere.

But he was never arrested.  He got into Ivy League Schools and everything. And it’s not supposed to be spoken of, except by partisan “racists”.

But bring up an alleged “bullying” 50 years ago that even the relatives of the now-deceased “victim” says is crap is very, very newsworthy.

So once again, a Liberal can get away with anything and say anything and if you object that’s YOUR fault.

“When they were chooming (smoking weed) in a car all the windows had to be rolled up so no smoke blew out and went to waste; when the pot was gone, they tilted their heads back and sucked in the last bit of smoke from the ceiling.”“When they were chooming in a car all the windows had to be rolled up so no smoke blew out and went to waste; when the pot was gone, they tilted their heads back and sucked in the last bit of smoke from the ceiling.”

The Liberals can go on for days about Romney as a “bully” and a “cultist” and a corporate raider but if you go here, in Obama’s own words and from people who knew him then and watch a Liberals blood pressure explode into apoplectic fits.

BAIN Bane

Much like the silly episode with Bill Maher where Obama and liberal started a “War on Women” over calling Sandra Fluke a slut and then taking $1,000,000 from a guy (Maher) who has said vastly worse things and poo-pooed any hypocrisy, Obama is at it again.

As mentioned yesterday, BAIN Capital the new Boogeyman of the Left for 2012, gave more in campaign donations previously to Democrats over Republicans.

Well, they’ve also given to Obama.

Though the Obama campaign has repeatedly attacked Mitt Romney for his career at Bain Capital, President Obama still accepted $7,500 in campaign contributions from two Bain executives. His campaign press secretary, Ben LaBolt told The Politicker the president has no intention of giving the money back.

“No one aside from Mitt Romney is running for President highlighting their tenure as a corporate buyout specialist as one of job creation, when in fact, his goal was profit maximization,” said Mr. LaBolt.  ”The President has support from business leaders across industries who have seen him pull the economy back from the brink of another depression, manufacturing and the auto industry revived, and support his agenda to build an economy that lasts where America outinnovates and outeducates the rest of the world and economic security for the middle class is restored.” (Solyndra, his tireless tirades against fossil fuels, $6 Trillion Dollars, and Pro-Union kickbacks, and other things like them being a great example).

Don’t so as I do, do as I say. I can do anything I want, you can’t.

“But that’s not what my job is as president. My job is to take into account everybody, not just some.”– Obama

As long as you do it my way and pay homage to my greatness or it’s the highway for you. I pick the winners and losers.

You are either an Apparatchik or you’re not.

Speaking at TPI Composites, which manufactures wind blades for wind turbines and employs 700 people, the president told the crowd that extending the tax credit is “a big deal.”

“This industry — thanks in large part to some very important tax credits — has now taken off,” the president told the crowd largely made up of TPI workers. …

However, he said “that progress is in jeopardy. If Congress doesn’t act, those tax credits I mentioned – the ones that helped to build up the wind industry and bring it here to Newton – will expire. If Congress doesn’t act, companies like this one will take a hit. Jobs will be lost.”(townhall)

Just Solyndra, Light Squared and all the other “green” boondoggles….Ooops! Can’t mention that to a liberal without getting attacked by the pit bull of  inconvenient truths.

I did a bit on wind turbines awhile back and how farcical they are. But it makes Liberals “feel” good so it must be better than nasty, evil fossil fuels. 🙂

And if, as the President claims, the wind industry has really “taken off,” why for pity’s sake does it need more subsidies? Because it hasn’t taken off, and the industry needs these subsidies to stay healthy. Ergo, The American Taxpayer is paying for unproductive jobs in a politically-favored industry, at the opportunity cost of actual economic growth and the creation of real, productive jobs. (townhall)

But you won’t here that from the Liberal Media.

After all, after every Solar plant goes under that got massive taxpayer subsides, it’s always the Chinese Government’s fault.

Liberals are never to blame for ANYTHING. It’s ALWAYS some one else’s fault.

The American Wind Energy Association’s 2011 annual report and related documents were quietly posted on the Internet last week by a wind power opponent upset by windmills’ negative impact on birds. The documents show the lobby’s efforts to frame its opponents as tax hikers, and to use opposition research against subsidy critics, some of whom it classifies as “libertarian free-market fundamentalists.” …

“AWEA’s message and champions have largely resided on the left,” the Revolution Agency stated in a strategy memo included in AWEA’s 2011 annual report. So the 2010 elections required AWEA to “pivot” from “green energy and Obama to jobs, manufacturing, business investment, and Conservative Republicans,” while still “taking care not to erode base support from the left.”

One core problem, the memo explained: The “debt-strapped, partisan, and Tea Party-infused Congress is reflexively skeptical of subsidies and many outside the windy red states have an inherently negative sentiment toward renewable energy.” …

AWEA plans “continued deployment of opposition research through third parties to cause critics to have to respond,” the battle plan states. In other words: When people attack AWEA’s subsidies, AWEA might feed an unflattering story on that person to some ideological or partisan media outlet or activist group.

Ahh, the seedy underbelly of the DC lobbying-scene. It’s kinda’ cute that greenie-hippie types think that by abiding by the dictates of environmental trendiness, they think they’re somehow ‘fighting the man’ and thwarting corporate/establishment interests. ‘Cause in reality, the environmental movement boasts one of the most intractable lobbies around.

Ever tried to get an Environmentalist to “compromise”. They don’t even understand the concept and their lobbyists are hard core. But they are Gods Chosen compared to evil Oil, Coal and Gas Lobbyists. So watch out and shut up!

If a form of renewable energy can start up its own ventures in the private sector and make a product that people willingly buy, then great! But as for the federal government ostensibly “making an investment” on behalf of public welfare, what incentives do bureaucrats have to be judicious in their “investments” when they’re gambling with other people’s money?

And losing repeatedly.

Government’s job shouldn’t be to tilt the field for one team or another, but to guarantee a level playing for everyone. (Hot air)

But liberals will continue to tilt at windmills because it makes them feel “good” and like any good Choomer it’s all about that next high.

Obama and Company will still take their money though.

Remember, there are only 3 rules. 🙂

The 2013 Homeland Security appropriations bill would increase one-way fees for passengers from $2.50 to $5 in order to close a budget shortfall at the Transportation Security Administration.

Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.) said the $315 million in funding would otherwise come from taxpayers and argued it is better to stick passengers who rely on TSA with the bill.

Does Mrs. “Louisiana Kickback” understand many of them ARE taxpayers? probably not. Or that Maybe the TSA, besides being a pedophilic mob of brutes and brainlessness is yet another government inefficiency.

Naw, Let’s just TAX & SPEND! The money never ever runs out. Spend more money and we’ll get more expensive brainless morons.

**********

And it’s Still Bush’s Fault! and if you elect Romney he’s just Bush.

Even nearly 4 years later the mindless obsession continues.

President Obama and his surrogates are making repeated references to the economic policies of former President George W. Bush, seeking to tie Mitt Romney’s platform to that of the previous administration.

Team Obama argues the Romney campaign is advocating tax and economic policies that would repeat the problems that put the country into recession, exacerbate income inequality and prevent middle-class Americans from getting a “fair shot.”

At a speech last week at Florida Atlantic University, Obama—without mentioning Bush by name — sought to link tax policies put forth by Romney and other top Republicans to Bush, drawing a distinct us-versus-them contrast.

“We tried this for eight years before I took office — we tried it,” Obama said to roaring applause from the college crowd. “It’s not like we didn’t try it.”

Obama went on to explain that “at the beginning of the last decade,” with Bush at the helm, the wealthiest Americans got two huge tax cuts while financial institutions were “allowed to write their own rules or find their way around rules.”

“We were told the same thing we’re being told now — ‘This is going to lead to faster job growth,’ ” Obama continued.

“ ‘This is going to lead to greater prosperity for everybody.’ Guess what? It didn’t.”

But neither have you. But then again….That’s Bush’s Fault! 🙂

Anyone else really tired of this dead horse?

And throw in your Class Warfare to boot. It’s like its 2008 and the last 4 years never happened.

Watch how history is manipulated in this quote:

“Yes, the rich got much richer, corporations made big profits,” he said of the Bush years during the speech at Florida Atlantic. “But we also had the slowest job growth in half a century. The typical American family actually saw their incomes fall by about 6 percent … healthcare premiums skyrocketed. Financial institutions started making bets with other people’s money. … And then our entire financial system collapsed. You remember that?”

He skillfully weaved the last 4 years in to look like they happened PRIOR to his administration and then blamed it all on Bush.

Are you that stupid? He hopes so. And the media will certainly help him.

Alinksy’s Rules For Radicals Rule 11: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, polarize it.

Here are a few gravity-defying pickings from today’s new ABC News/Washington Post Poll:

Only 16% of Americans say their economic situation has improved under Barack Obama’s reign. Fully 30% say their situation is worse. Yet 49% of these 1,004 registered voters back Obama’s reelection, while 46% prefer Mitt Romney.

Barely one-third of Americans (34%) blame Obama for the ongoing economic problems while nearly half (49%) blame George W. Bush, who hasn’t been around the Oval Office in his tie and coat for 1,218 days.

The poll reports that the man having the better personal character to be president is Obama, 52%-38%, over Romney. Not kidding here.

Of those Americans who say the economy is “not so good,” 58% still support the guy who added nearly a trillion stimulus dollars to the national debt to little noticeable effect.

In terms of who “better represents your personal values,” Obama beats Romney 47% to 43%.

Unemployment has been above 8% for the longest period in three-quarters of a century. So in terms of better understanding the economic problems people are enduring, the Democrat president who’s presided over the last 40 months beats Romney, 48%-40%. (IBD)

So they probably are. And virtually 50% of  all Americans are dependent on the government so they’ll vote to have you pay for them.

Shared Sacrifice, don’t you know. They share your sacrifice to to the almighty Gods of Class Warfare.

Tipping point? How about Tipped…

Titanic anyone? Hey,was that an iceberg…

Prove The Mayans Wrong

For the Record on upcoming Republican “obstructionist” ads and ads that say Republicans WANT to crush College Students over the loan rates because you surely won’t here this from the Ministry of Truth:

Republicans defied a veto threat and the House voted Friday to prevent federal loan costs from doubling for millions of college students. The vote gave the GOP a momentary election-year triumph on a bill that has become enmeshed in partisan battles over the economy, women’s issues and President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul.

The measure’s 215-195 passage was largely symbolic because the package is going nowhere in the Democratic-dominated Senate. Both parties agree students’ interest costs should not rise, but they are clashing along a familiar fault line over how to cover the $6 billion tab: Republicans want spending cuts and Democrats want higher revenues.(revenues=Taxes).

Democrats wrote a version of the bill, paid for by ending subsidies for oil and gas companies.

Big Oil is, after all, Evil Incarnate.

But this whole created mess is the centerpiece of the President’s strategy to gin up young, naive, stupid people to vote for him. It can’t be over this fast. He can’t have the Republicans being given credit for it. He has so much more fear and loathing to spread!

FEAR IS HOPE!

So they obstruct them, then blame them for not passing a bill that does it there way. After all, it’s their way or the highway!

And the Republicans keep “obstructing” them on that.

Damn them. 🙂

Democrats trained their fire on the Republican plan to pay for the bill by abolishing a preventive health fund created by Obama’s 2010 revamping of the health care system. Democrats said that program especially helped women by allocating money for cancer screening and other initiatives and that eliminating it was only the latest GOP blow against women _ a charge Republicans hotly contested.

“Give me a break,” roared House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, to rousing cheers from Republican lawmakers. “This is the latest plank in the so-called war on women, entirely created by my colleagues across the aisle for political gain.”

Democrats voted solidly earlier this year to take money from the preventive health fund to help keep doctors’ Medicare reimbursements from dropping. Obama’s own budget in February proposed cutting $4 billion from the same fund to pay for some of his priorities.

Since the early days of this year’s GOP presidential contest, Democrats have been accusing Republicans of targeting women by advocating curbs on contraceptives and other policies. Polls show women leaning heavily toward Obama and Democrats would like to stoke that margin.

In its veto message, the White House argued that “women in particular” would be helped by the prevention fund and added, “This is a politically motivated proposal and not the serious response that the problem facing America’s college students deserves.” (Townhall)

Never Let a Crisis Go to Waste! 🙂

2008: The Obama campaign spokesman, Bill Burton, accused the Clinton team of playing “the politics of fear” just like George W. Bush.

Burton, now the head of the Democratic super PAC, Priorities USA (one of the main backers of ObamaCare), said at the time: “When Senator Clinton voted with President Bush to authorize the war in Iraq, she made a tragically bad decision that diverted our military from the terrorists who attacked us, and allowed Osama bin Laden to escape and regenerate his terrorist network. It’s ironic that she would borrow the President’s tactics in her own campaign and invoke bin Laden to score political points. We already have a President who plays the politics of fear, and we don’t need another.

Now: We have Throwing Grandma off a cliff, race-baiting, racial division, and so much more.

FEAR IS HOPE

In a new web video titled “One Chance,” the Obama team features former President Bill Clinton praising Obama for deciding to launch the strike last year. “What path would Mitt Romney have taken?” the clip asks.

Mind you, like the “silver spoon” comments it’s all implied. He wants to led your horse to his kool-aid so you’ll drink it.

While I am not the biggest fan of Romney, I am totally against Obama and these kind of tactics are just the opening salvo in an all-out Nuclear Armageddon that the Democrats and their Liberal Media Minions will launch.

After all, all that they have worked for for 90 years is at stake. ObamaCare is potentially still at stake depending on how it goes with the Supreme Court. And if goes against them then they have to double down to win so they can pass it again!

Don’t doubt that. It’s the Holy Grail of Liberalism. They won’t give up quite so easily. All they have to do is win again, replace at least 1 conservative Justice on the Supreme Court and they are off to the Totalitarian races!

So expect nothing less than total and absolute Nuclear Annihilation.

So you pander to base fears. You pander to Hispanics big time (gotta have that Illegal alien Vote – sorry the Liberal want to ban that phrase to because it’s “inhumane” – perfect crimethink). You get the stupid and the naive to vote for you. You get as many independents as possible to stay home and not vote for anyone as you can so you can get your base+the stupid+ the naive to overwhelm the rational.

Vote for me, The Other Guy’s an Asshole!!!

And it starts with the ludicrous notion that a President presented with info to kill or capture the #1 enemy of the country would pass on it.

I think the only reason Obama went for it is because if it leaked out that he didn’t that it would be bad politiks. After all President Clinton passed on Bin Laden several times in the 1990s (but that didn’t hurt him because the liberal media covered it up and they could have for Obama but the internet is much more pervasive now than than it was and it would have leaked out somehow).

“Thanks to President Obama, bin Laden is dead and General Motors is alive. You have to ask yourself, if Gov. Romney had been president, could he have used the same slogan — in reverse?” Biden said

Yeah, and The UAW thanks you Mr. Vice President. After all, that was what it was all about in the first place– Unions. The Stimulus was also about Unions.
If you aren’t in a Union (which the vast majority of people aren’t) then you don’t have compulsory “donations” to the Democrat Party as part of your salary and that has to change.
Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul said Friday. “It’s now sad to see the Obama campaign seek to use an event that unified our country to once again divide us, in order to try to distract voters’ attention from the failures of his administration.”

But don’t worry, the fear campaign has only begun to ratchet up and the swagger of “I got him and you didn’t” is only just beginning.
Before it’s over the Mayans will be right.

WSJ: Try this thought experiment: You decide to donate money to Mitt Romney. You want change in the Oval Office, so you engage in your democratic right to send a check.

Several days later, President Barack Obama, the most powerful man on the planet, singles you out by name. His campaign brands you a Romney donor, shames you for “betting against America,” and accuses you of having a “less-than-reputable” record. The message from the man who controls the Justice Department (which can indict you), the SEC (which can fine you), and the IRS (which can audit you), is clear: You made a mistake donating that money.

Richard Nixon’s “enemies list” appalled the country for the simple reason that presidents hold a unique trust. Unlike senators or congressmen, presidents alone represent all Americans. Their powers—to jail, to fine, to bankrupt—are also so vast as to require restraint. Any president who targets a private citizen for his politics is de facto engaged in government intimidation and threats. This is why presidents since Nixon have carefully avoided the practice.

Save Mr. Obama, who acknowledges no rules. This past week, one of his campaign websites posted an item entitled “Behind the curtain: A brief history of Romney’s donors.” In the post, the Obama campaign named and shamed eight private citizens who had donated to his opponent. Describing the givers as all having “less-than-reputable records,” the post went on to make the extraordinary accusations that “quite a few” have also been “on the wrong side of the law” and profiting at “the expense of so many Americans.”

These are people like Paul Schorr and Sam and Jeffrey Fox, investors who the site outed for the crime of having “outsourced” jobs. T. Martin Fiorentino is scored for his work for a firm that forecloses on homes. Louis Bacon (a hedge-fund manager), Kent Burton (a “lobbyist”) and Thomas O’Malley (an energy CEO) stand accused of profiting from oil. Frank VanderSloot, the CEO of a home-products firm, is slimed as a “bitter foe of the gay rights movement.”

These are wealthy individuals, to be sure, but private citizens nonetheless. Not one holds elected office. Not one is a criminal. Not one has the barest fraction of the position or the power of the U.S. leader who is publicly assaulting them.

“We don’t tolerate presidents or people of high power to do these things,” says Theodore Olson, the former U.S. solicitor general. “When you have the power of the presidency—the power of the IRS, the INS, the Justice Department, the DEA, the SEC—what you have effectively done is put these guys’ names up on ‘Wanted’ posters in government offices.” Mr. Olson knows these tactics, having demanded that the 44th president cease publicly targeting Charles and David Koch of Koch Industries, which he represents. He’s been ignored.

The real crime of the men, as the website tacitly acknowledges, is that they have given money to Mr. Romney. This fundraiser of a president has shown an acute appreciation for the power of money to win elections, and a cutthroat approach to intimidating those who might give to his opponents.

He’s targeted insurers, oil firms and Wall Street—letting it be known that those who oppose his policies might face political or legislative retribution. He lectured the Supreme Court for giving companies more free speech and (falsely) accused the Chamber of Commerce of using foreign money to bankroll U.S. elections. The White House even ginned up an executive order (yet to be released) to require companies to list political donations as a condition of bidding for government contracts. Companies could bid but lose out for donating to Republicans. Or they could quit donating to the GOP—Mr. Obama’s real aim.

The White House has couched its attacks in the language of “disclosure” and the argument that corporations should not have the same speech rights as individuals. But now, says Rory Cooper of the Heritage Foundation, “he’s doing the same at the individual level, for anyone who opposes his policies.” Any giver, at any level, risks reprisal from the president of the United States.

It’s getting worse because the money game is not going as Team Obama wants. Super PACs are helping the GOP to level the playing field against Democratic super-spenders. Prominent financial players are backing Mr. Romney. The White House’s new strategy is thus to delegitimize Mr. Romney (by attacking his donors) as it seeks to frighten others out of giving.

The Obama campaign has justified any action on the grounds that it has a right to “hold the eventual Republican nominee accountable,” but this is a dodge. Politics is rough, but a president has obligations that transcend those of a candidate. He swore an oath to protect and defend a Constitution that gives every American the right to partake in democracy, free of fear of government intimidation or disfavored treatment. If Mr. Obama isn’t going to act like a president, he bolsters the argument that he doesn’t deserve to be one.

If I can’t get you to vote for me, I can at least try to get you to not vote at all.

But if you vote for the wrong team, expect to feel my wrath if I’m re-elected for I am vengeful God!

We already have a President who plays the politics of fear, that’s why we need to get rid of him.

And the only way is to wade through an all out Nuclear Armageddon of Liberal attacks and vote him out.

Be a Proud Enemy of This State.

And prove the Mayans wrong. 🙂

Lies, Damn Lies…and Liberals

If you’re thinking about buying a fuel-efficient hybrid, electric or otherwise eco-friendly vehicle as a way to save money over time, do your homework — or be prepared to wait.

Buyers who choose Nissan’s all-electric Leaf ($28,421) over its approximate gas-powered equivalent, Nissan’s Versa ($18,640), will likely wait nearly 9 years until they break even, according to a new report by The New York Times that examines the cost of fuel efficiency.

For drivers of the Chevrolet Volt ($31,767), the wait is even longer— 26.6 years.

A few vehicles begin paying off relatively soon after leaving the dealership. Two hybrids— Toyota’s Prius ($23,537) and Lincoln’s MKZ ($33,887)— as well as Volkswagen’s diesel-powered Jetta TDI ($25,242) all take less than two years before they start saving their owners money.

Another reason to buy the Obama Vehicle- The Volt. 🙂 It promises great things, costs too much and is a fake (only 40 miles on electric charge) and then underperforms spectacularly.

But I’m sure it’s the Republican’s Fault!!! 🙂

In an interview with South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley (R), TIME magazine asks if she will tip Sikh taxi drivers more during her visit to New York City.

Haley, who was born into a Sikh family, now identifies herself as a Christian.

“In New York City, which you’re visiting for a couple of days, a lot of our taxi drivers are Sikhs. If you get one, are you going to give them a slightly bigger tip?” Belinda Luscombe, a TIME editor, asked Haley.

“I give the same tip to everyone,” Haley responded.

Wow.

Mary J Blige is apologizing for A Burger King Commercial which according to some race obsessed Liberals (who see racism everywhere and in everything): “Having a black woman sing about chicken was no mistake. They’re trying to reach the ‘urban’ (aka black) demographic and they used you,” in an open letter. “Because God knows black folk won’t buy anything unless there’s a song, and preferably a dance, attached to it.”

“Crispy chicken, fresh lettuce, three cheeses, ranch dressing wrapped up in a tasty flour tortilla” — is set to “Don’t Mind,” a song from Blige’s album “My Life II… The Journey Continues (Act 1),” the Washington Post reports.

Yeah, that was what I was thinking… 😦

SO Blige decides to cover her butt:

“I agreed to be a part of a fun and creative campaign that was supposed to feature a dream sequence,” Blige tells Us Weekly in a statement of the spot, which was slammed by critics and subsequently yanked from the airwaves after going viral earlier this week.

Furthers Blige: “Unfortunately, that’s not what was happening in that clip, so I understand my fans being upset by what they saw. But, if you’re a Mary fan, you have to know I would never allow an unfinished spot like the one you saw go out.”

So the next time you see a Burger King ad, you must think , gee was that racist in your wildest most insane moments? Because the Liberals will.

Since even You Tube buckled.

ERIC HOLDER SCOLDED

Attorney General Eric Holder’s 3 Page Homework assignment about Judicial Review and his whiny ,”yes, mom” response is here : http://www.foxnews.com/interactive/politics/2012/04/05/justice-department-letter-to-5th-circuit-court-appeals/

“Sure, SCOTUS can overturn a federal law, declaring the law unconstitutional, but SCOTUS should give President Obama and congressional Democrats what they want anyway.” (Wizbang)

I agree. It’s a typical liberal argument. I want what i want when I want it and how are you have the temerity to question my superiority.

OBAMACARE

During a tense White House press briefing Wednesday, Jay Carney had a long exchange with Fox News reporter Ed Henry about what President Obama really meant when he said the Supreme Court would be engaging in activism should ObamaCare be struck down. Carney’s response to the outrage?

Americans just didn’t “understand” what President Obama said because he is a “law professor.”

Henry: The president is a former constitutional law professor. One of his professors is Laurence Tribe. He now says, in his words, the president “obviously misspoke earlier this week”, quote “he didn’t say what he meant and having said that in order to avoid misleading anyone, he had to clarify it.” I thought yesterday you were saying repeatedly that he did not misspeak. What do you make of the president’s former law professor saying he did?

Carney: The premise of your question suggests that the president of the United States in the comments he made Monday, did not believe in the constitutionality of legislation, which is a preposterous premise and I know you don’t believe that.

Henry: Except this is from Laurence Tribe, who knows a lot more than you and I about constitutional law.

Carney: What I acknowledged yesterday is that speaking on Monday the president was not clearly understood by some people because he is a law professor, he spoke in shorthand.

So you are too dumb to understand. Yeah, that’s the ticket!!

At that press event, Obama told any justice thinking of overturning ObamaCare’s central tenet that “in the absence of an individual mandate, you cannot have a mechanism to ensure that people with pre-existing conditions can actually get health care.”

But this is false.

In fact, Obama himself argued precisely the opposite during the 2008 campaign, saying a mandate wasn’t needed to achieve universal coverage. “The reason people don’t have health insurance isn’t because they don’t want it,” he said then. “It’s because they can’t afford it.”

Plus, ObamaCare itself proves a mandate isn’t needed to cover those with pre-existing conditions. The law set up federal “high risk” pools that offer insurance to those denied it by private companies. Yet instead of making this a permanent solution, Obama kills these pools off in 2014 in favor of the mandate.

Obama also claimed at that press conference that the law “was passed by a strong majority of a democratically elected Congress.”

Also false.

The House approved it by a slim 7-vote margin, with 34 Democrats joining every Republican to oppose it. Less than a year later, the House voted to repeal ObamaCare by a significantly larger margin, 245-189.

It was only in the Senate, where Democrats held a temporary supermajority, that it did well, and even then they could only get it through using a variety of unusual parliamentary tricks. What’s more, just 51 Senators voted to keep the law in a 2011 vote.

But as the old saying goes, lies beget more lies. Here’s just a sampling of past Obama prevarications about his signature reform law:

“If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor, period. If you like your health care plan, you’ll be able to keep your health care plan, period. No one will take it away, no matter what.”

Fact: The Congressional Budget Office estimates that as many as 20 million will be forced off their plans as employers dump workers into the government health exchanges to avoid ObamaCare’s costs. A survey by McKinsey and Co. found that nearly a third of employers were likely to drop coverage for employees once ObamaCare kicked in.

And an analysis by the Medicare actuary found that ObamaCare’s attacks on Medicare’s private insurance options would force nearly 8 million seniors out of plans they’ve chosen.

“If any bill arrives from Congress that is not controlling costs, that’s not a bill I can support.  It’s going to have to control costs.”

Fact: The law Obama signed contains no meaningful cost-control provisions, something every honest health care analyst admits.

“We will bring down premiums by $2,500 for the typical family.”

Fact: The CBO projects that premiums over the next decade will climb at a faster rate than they did in the past five years. The CBO also projects that premiums in the individual insurance market will be as much as 13% higher in 2016 as a result of the law. Premiums for small businesses could go up 1%. Meanwhile, a study done for Wisconsin by one of the architects of ObamaCare found that “the majority of individuals in the nongroup market will pay more in premiums for health insurance in 2016 than they do today.” The average increase: 30%.

“And it will slow the growth of health care costs for our families, our businesses, and our government.”

Fact: ObamaCare will accelerate spending at every level. In 2014, when the law takes full effect, national spending on health care will shoot up 8% and go on climbing at more than 6% a year, according to official government forecasts.

“The plan I’m proposing will cost around $900 billion over 10 years.”

Fact: The current Congressional Budget Office report pegs the 10-year cost of ObamaCare at $1.7 trillion. The only way Obama could get his price tag down so low is by putting off the start date by four years. Once Obama-Care fully kicks in, it will add $260 billion a year, and rising, to the budget.

“To help ensure that everyone can afford the cost of a health care option in our exchange, we need to provide assistance to families who need it. That way, there will be no reason at all for anyone to remain uninsured.”

Fact: Despite spending $800 billion to subsidize premiums in the government-run exchanges, over the next 10 years, along with $931 billion in new Medicaid costs, ObamaCare will still leave 27 million — or 10% of the population — uninsured, according to the CBO.

We could go on, but you get the idea.

The best thing the Supreme Court could do for the country is to chuck the entire law, and give Congress the opportunity to put together an honest package of reforms.(IBD)

But Liberals want what they want when they want it and will lie to get and if you don’t you’re a racist and a liar.

Ah, 2012 in America.

The Fault Lines

But when he does it in less than 3 years it’s not only ok, it’s:

Political Cartoons by Gary Varvel

Now don’t you feel better! 🙂

But you know he was just saying all that to get elected. Whether he believed it or not, didn’t matter. He wanted you to believe it.

And now for 2012 he wants you to believe it again. Forget everything about the last 3 years, except who’s fault it is–anyone’s but his.

Obama is only three years into his term, and has already surpassed $4T in terms of increasing the debt.  Is it still “irresponsible” and “unpatriotic”, Mr. President, or only when a Republican does it?

Apparently Rep. Frederica Wilson (D-FL) didn’t go far enough when she blamed racism for the high unemployment rate among African-Americans. Today she made sure everyone got the real message: The Tea Party is the enemy.

They can go to Hell, according to Rep. Maxine Waters and While the media plays up the Los Angeles congresswoman’s “the Tea Party can go straight to hell’ comments from this weekend, they are ignoring what she said right after that. When the wild cheers of the audience calmed down, Rep. Waters then said: “And I intend to help them get there.”

But don’t worry, it’s the Tea Party/Republicans fault for not compromising and being “extreme”.

‘Intransigence’ and ‘Bigotry’ according to CNN’s Piers Morgan.

Some voters might be insulted by the suggestion that a little creative relabeling will fool them into embracing policies they would otherwise reject.

But that won’t stop the Orwellian Liberals. They don’t know any other way.

To disagree with them you must be absolutely stone cold STUPID. You have to be the biggest moron who ever walked the earth to believe they are wrong about anything.

So that’s when the hatred bubbles over and you get such wonderously non-judgemental, compassionate, and total willing to compromise for the greater good liberal comments as outlined. 🙂

Now that another massive new dose of deficit spending is no longer possible, the rigid Keynesian mind can only conceive of one alternative: a smaller dose of deficit spending. But to the Keynesian mind, a small dose of deficit spending will have a tiny impact compared to a massive dose of deficit spending. Obama can’t possibly have his heart in the “mini-stimulus” he’s likely to propose; he probably believes it’s doomed to failure because it’s too small. (DC)

And if you oppose it, you’re a “terrorist”, a “bigot”, “going to hell”, and “uncompromising”.

Now you can work with that can’t you? :0

The unemployment rate has been at or over 9 percent for 25 of the last 30 months. Why are we still waiting for Obama’s jobs plan?

It has been over 8% since February 2009.

But that’s not his fault. It’s not the Democrats fault.

It’s Bush…The Tea party…The Japan Tsunami…The Arabs…Iraq…Afghanistan…The ATM…automation…Corporations…The “rich”…The pizza delivery guy…. Anyone but them.

What difference does it make what stories the country’s attention was drawn to? How would that excuse Obama’s failure to even have a plan to address what he has repeatedly acknowledged to be America’s number one problem?

It doesn’t. But Liberals love distractions and diversions away from the truth that they have failed so miserably that it should be totally obvious to even a moron.
But it apparently isn’t, is it 🙂
But you can expect one thing for sure for The Democrats come September- more poll-tested euphemisms for raising tax rates so they can spend even more.
Why?
Because it’s all they know. Everything else is outside of their universe. It’s foreign. It’s evil. It’s bad. It’s “Extreme”.
And we can’t have extremism in the defense of liberty now can we. 🙂
Mainstream Liberal/Ministry of Truth Media Update
CBS’s Norah O’Donnell, filling in on Face the Nation, just couldn’t comprehend how a candidate espousing true conservative views could possibly capture the White House. Referring to Rick Perry, she demanded: “Can the Republican Party elect someone President who doesn’t believe in global warming?”
Well, that’s would be just Stupid now wouldn’t it! Of Course Global Warming is absolutely and unequivocally true. You’d have to be a moron not to think so.
On The Stimulus: “Well, many economists say had they not done the stimulus, it would have been much worse.”
Oh, really, are they all Keynesian Economists by any chance?
CNN’s Jack Cafferty slammed the “intellectual lightweights” leading the Republican presidential field on Wednesday, wondering why their supporters “seem to be allergic to brains.” (MRC)
But don’t worry, it’s you, not them, that are uncompromising, extreme, and just plain stupid… 🙂
A report from the Employment Policies Institute finds that only one in five members of Congress has an academic background in business or economics.
And 7 of the top 10 Richest millionaires in Congress are Democrats.

Are You Smarter Than a 12th Grader?

Only 12 percent of American 12th graders know enough history to score “proficient” in the 2010 National Assessment of Educational Progress. Only 17 percent of eighth graders and 20 percent of fourth graders achieved similar levels of grade-appropriate knowledge.

The good news is that all three groups did fare better, on average, than those who took the test in 1994, according to the Nation’s Report Card released today.

So instead of astoundingly ignorant they are just stupefyingly ignorant.  Now that’s progress! Rejoice! 🙂

Just 13 percent of high school seniors who took the 2010 National Assessment of Educational Progress, called the Nation’s Report Card, showed a solid grasp of the subject. Results released Tuesday showed the two other grades didn’t perform much better, with just 22 percent of fourth-grade students and 18 percent of eighth-graders demonstrating proficiency.

But I bet they have been overloaded with “self esteem” and touchy feely social liberalism.  They can tell you how evil the founders were to slaves but not what they actually stood for. They can tell you everything there ever was to know about Lady Gaga or American Idol. They can type incomplete texting words at the speed of light but couldn’t tell you what the Constitution says. You know, The really important stuff.

“The history scores released today show that student performance is still too low,” Education Secretary Arne Duncan said in a statement. “These results tell us that, as a country, we are failing to provide children with a high-quality, well-rounded education.”

DUH!

<<DRUM ROLL>>

Time to spend even more money throwing it down the liberal social justice rat hole. Oh, and paying Teachers even more and hold them accountable even less.

That will fix it! Always does! 🙂

“We need to make sure other subjects like history, science and the arts are not forgotten in our pursuit of the basic skills,” said Diane Ravitch, a research professor at New York University and former U.S. assistant education secretary.

Here I thought History was a basic skill. And Science.

Oh that’s right, you can’t teach the little skulls full of liberal mush that the White Man anything other that an evil bastard and stole the Indian’s land and killed Mexicans and enslaved blacks and now enslaves you because corporations are your new slavemasters! Oh,  and that the forefathers were cruel, white people who enjoyed crushing black people under slavery or any other liberal nonsense.

And of course, you don’t teach people about the Constitution. That way you can manipulate them into thinking the way you want them to. Facts! Who needs facts when you have an ideology to indoctrinate!

To be considered proficient, they had to get certain scores out of 500. For fourth-graders, the score was 243. Eighth-graders needed 294, and 12th graders had to get a 325.

So that’s less than 50% for 4th Graders. Less than 60% for 8th Graders and 65% for 12th Graders.

So a grade on a test that would get you an F is “proficient” and the Liberals can’t even manage that!!!!

Oh, that’s right, Grades hurt kids self-esteem because they discriminate against those who don’t so as well. It’s bad. 😦

First grader is learning to spell but doesn’t have spelling tests. The mother who is on the PTA asks the principal about this asking how they reinforce the spelling. He responds with “Isn’t that what spell check’s for?”

2. Third grade boy failing math. Why? Because he actually does the math problem. We are talking about subtraction. Instead of doing the long subtraction where you need to cross out and add ten to the last number to get an exact answer they are supposed to “round” a certain direction and provide and “reasonable” answer. The correct answer as you would have it is NOT reasonable. The poor kid learned subtraction from his father over the summer and now can not grasp why his right answer is wrong.

Mother asked about it and was told “that’s how the test grades it”. Third grade is a state test here. (babyzone post)

From 1999 magazine article:

Researchers have found three consistent effects of using – and especially, emphasizing the importance of – letter or number grades:

1.  Grades tend to reduce students’ interest in the learning itself.

2.  Grades tend to reduce students’ preference for challenging tasks.

3.  Grades tend to reduce the quality of students’ thinking.

4. Grades aren’t valid, reliable, or objective.

5. Grades distort the curriculum.

6. Grades waste a lot of time that could be spent on learning.
7. Grades encourage cheating   (has this person ever heard of “grade inflation” where the teacher artificially makes the grades higher to make themselves look better??)
8.Grades spoil teachers’ relationships with students.

9. Grades spoil students’ relationships with each other.  (Alfie Kohn)

Reaching for the barf bag yet?

And if you hold these teachers responsible, you’ll get Wisconsin-style riots of indignation!

How dare you! 🙂

And let’s not even get into “whole language” theory or teaching kids in Spanish in the classroom rather than English.

<<reaching for the Barf Bag>>

Here in Arizona, there is the AIMS test that is supposed to rectify deficiencies.

When AIMS became a graduation requirement in 2006, lawmakers were “shocked” by the potential number of seniors unable to graduate because they failed AIMS, said Andrew LeFevre, Arizona Department of Education spokesman.

So legislators passed a law allowing students to increase their AIMS scores by up to 25 percent with good grades. The law topped the percentage at 15 in the 2008-09 school year and at 5 percent this year, making it even tougher for students with average grades and failing AIMS scores to graduate.

For example, students with an A average in honors classes could increase their scores by 25 percent, while a C-average student could augment by up to 12 percent. Now a C-average student can increase his or her AIMS score by up to 2 percent. (AZ Central)

So even if they pad their scores, some kids fail. And that is not a problem??

Gee, I would like to have padded my grades when I was younger. I was an A student in History 🙂 B’s in most things, except English and Science were usually C’s. I would love to have padded that out a bit then I might not have had to take English 101 twice in college then. You know that hurt my self-esteem! 🙂

But I managed. I buckled down and I graduated from College Cum Laude.

I guess I was too stupid to just coast along and let the liberals feel sorry for me and blame “the man” for all my problems.

The government can come to my rescue and make me feel better!

Gee, I feel cheated now! 🙂

Educators said history is critical to students learning how to become better citizens and understanding how the country’s political and cultural systems work. Students need to not only recognize leaders like Martin Luther King Jr. and Abraham Lincoln, but also understand why they were important to the development of the country.

But then, they would know that the Liberal establishment is lying to them and we can’t have that.

They’ll could come racist Tea Partiers or worse Neo-Cons! 🙂

“Overall the quality and success of our lives can only be enhanced by a study of our roots,” said Steven Paine, former state schools superintendent for West Virginia. “If you don’t know your past, you will not have a future.” (ABC)

The liberals are doing a very good job with that though. 🙂

From extreme leftist at FiredogLake:

Could you imagine the wingnut version of the American history exam you’d have to pass if these assholes got their way?

“Ronald Reagan — even more kickass than Jesus. Discuss.”

“Minorities: When should they stop guilt-tripping Normal America? Discuss.”

“The Free Market: Who really earned your tax dollars, you or Goldman Sachs? Discuss.”

History, who needs it. Now, Class & Race Warfare, now that’s something worth teaching!

To know and not to know, to be conscious of complete truthfulness while telling carefully constructed lies, to hold simultaneously two opinions which cancelled out, knowing them to be contradictory and believing in both of them, to use logic against logic, to repudiate morality while laying claim to it, to believe that democracy was impossible and that the Party was the guardian of democracy, to forget, whatever it was necessary to forget, then to draw it back into memory again at the moment when it was needed, and then promptly to forget it again, and above all, to apply the same process to the process itself — that was the ultimate subtlety; consciously to induce unconsciousness, and then, once again, to become unconscious of the act of hypnosis you had just performed. Even to understand the word ‘doublethink’ involved the use of doublethink.
The power of holding two contradictory beliefs in one’s mind simultaneously, and accepting both of them….To tell deliberate lies while genuinely believing in them, to forget any fact that has become inconvenient, and then, when it becomes necessary again, to draw it back from oblivion for just so long as it is needed, to deny the existence of objective reality and all the while to take account of the reality which one denies — all this is indispensably necessary. Even in using the word doublethink it is necessary to exercise doublethink. For by using the word one admits that one is tampering with reality; by a fresh act of doublethink one erases this knowledge; and so on indefinitely, with the lie always one leap ahead of the truth.

I is an edgeukated amerikan! 🙂

MOMMY!!!

Political Cartoons by Mike Lester

Am I surprised that the Liberals went and found a Liberal judge in Wisconsin that would override the legislative process because THEY did not like the outcome?

No.

My initial reaction was, “why did it take so long?”.

Was judge-shopping that tough in Wisconsin?  I doubt it.

This is to be expected of Liberals.

The Rule of Law means absolutely nothing to them when they want what they want because they want it.

And that why they go running to mommy, Liberal activist Judges who will rule on the basis if their Liberalism not on the law, when all else fails.

That’s why Sen. Anthony “The Whiner” Weiner is so intent on gettin Justice Clarence Thomas thrown off the Supreme Court or at least recused from the inevitable Obamacare case so that he can tip the balance of the court in his favor.

So what if they are appointed for life and are supposed to be immune from politics.

It’s not like Liberals care. It’s all about THEM, after all!

So when I heard all the whining about it being “forced” on them all that crock all I could shout was “OBAMACARE!!”

But no Liberal was going to listen to that. They wanted that. They are very proud of cramming that down everyone’s throat “against the will of the people”.

And they are so arrogant as to believe it was the will of the people, because after all, the Tea Party and the over 60% disapproval of ObamaCare is not to be taken seriously.

They are just so much better than you. And they know what’s best for you, even if you don’t.

Isn’t that special? 😦

Running off to Illnois to try and halt the process didn’t work. So now they have to get a Liberal Activist Judge to do it for them.

Mind you the last time a Liberal complained about an activist judge was when that judge ruled against THEM.

That would be Judge Vinson, in Florida, when he ruled ObamaCare unconstitutional.

You can see how much that stopped the Obamacare freight train.

But now, they get their own activist judge and everything must grind to a halt.

After all, it’s all about THEM.

They are so vastly superior they are entitled to do, say, and legislate anything they want without impediments from the “stupid”. (that’s you and me by the way). 🙂

So expect more kicking and screaming and whining. It’s what Liberals do best.

The spoiled brat 2 year old’s have had their candy taken away and now it’s time for mommy to file a lawsuit to get those suckers and  Uncle Guido and his Union goons to break their kneecaps!

But don’t worry, it’s the rich who are greedy SOBs… 🙂

And all those millions of mandatory Union dues aren’t going straight to the Democrats so Democrats can send the largess straight back to the Unions.

Perish the Thought. 🙂

And as for Obama Care, the darling sweetheart Exorcist baby of the Liberal Left:

Today former Congressman Ernest Istook testified before the House Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee about the $105 billion slush fund in advance appropriations liberals tucked inside Obamacare. The $105 billion bypasses the traditional yearly budgeting process and is spread throughout the 2,700 page legislation. It took the Congressional Research Service (CRS) seven months to identify all the disparate funds and it was not until February (11 months after the bill passed) that all of the funds could be totaled up.

It’s a bill that authorizes ahead of time it’s own appropriations. Is that special? 😦

And finally, just to let you know how much the Left cares…

A union protest will take place in Washington, D.C., but not to protest federal hypocrisy on the issue of union bargaining rights. It is set for April 4, the 43rd anniversary of the assassination of Martin Luther King as he was supporting striking sanitation workers in Memphis, Tenn. It will be a shameless attempt to wrap union greed in the mantle of the civil rights struggle.

“April 4 (is) the day on which Martin Luther King Jr. gave his life for the cause of public collective bargaining,” AFL-CIO chief Richard Trumka said in a speech in Washington last Wednesday.

“Join us to make April 4, 2011, a day to stand in solidarity with working people in Wisconsin, Ohio, Indiana and dozens of other states where well-funded, right-wing corporate politicians are trying to take away the rights Dr. King gave his life for.”

“Union rights are no different than civil rights,” Labor Secretary Hilda Solis told officials of the Communications Workers of America during a Wisconsin strategy conference call two weeks ago.(IBD)

And I bet they teach it that way in school, too.

Now, isn’t that precious… 😦

WE Know Better

Some Liberals are feeling the heat of their spending binge. They have a banned a commercial because they don’t like it.

A new television ad about the U.S. national debt produced by Citizens Against Government Waste has been deemed “too controversial” by major networks including ABC, A&E and The History Channel and will not be shown on those channels. The commercial is a homage to a 1986 ad that was entitled “The Deficit Trials” that was also banned by the major networks. Apparently telling the truth about the national debt is a little too “hot” for the major networks to handle. But perhaps it is time to tell the American people the truth. In 1986, the U.S. national debt was around 2 trillion dollars. Today, it is rapidly approaching 14 trillion dollars. The American Dream is being ripped apart right in front of our eyes, but apparently some of the major networks don’t want the American people to really understand what is going on.

The truth is that the ad does not even have anything in it that should be offensive. The commercial is set in the year 2030, and the main character is a Chinese professor that is seen lecturing his students on the fall of great empires. As images of the United States are shown on a screen behind him, the Chinese professor tells his students the following about the behavior of great empires: “They all make the same mistakes. Turning their backs on the principles that made them great. America tried to spend and tax itself out of a great recession. Enormous so-called “stimulus” spending, massive changes to health care, government takeover of private industries, and crushing debt.”

Perhaps it is what the Chinese Professor says next that is alarming the big television networks: “Of course, we owned most of their debt, so now they work for us”.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZOpyggmTmeE&feature=player_embedded#!

I think it’s one of the best, most accurate commercials ever. That must be why it threatens liberals.

The Truth always threatens liberals.

Super-genius political science professor Charles H. Franklin of the University of Wisconsin, Madison recently gave loud voice to a widely held liberal belief: Ordinary Americans, especially conservative ones, are stupid.

At a conference by the Society of Professional Journalists, alternative newspaper editor Bill Lueders asked Franklin why “the public seemed to vote against its own interests and stated desires, for instance by electing candidates who’ll drive up the deficit with fiscally reckless giveaways to the rich.”

Franklin responded: “I’m not endorsing the American voter. They’re pretty damn stupid.” (Excuse my impertinence, but is there a grammatical glitch in the genius’s formulation?)

First, we should note that Franklin implicitly accepted Lueders’ premise as fact: The voters who claim to be motivated by a passion to end reckless Washington spending had just elected candidates who will be fiscally irresponsible because they support “reckless giveaways to the rich.”

But how smart is it to mischaracterize a policy, misrepresent its likely consequences and ignore other relevant data to arrive at an ideologically preordained conclusion?
Extending Bush tax cuts for those making $250,000 or more would not be a giveaway. We’re not talking about the government’s money, but money earned by individuals. Only leftists believe that all income is the property of the state and that the amount remaining after income taxes is a gift from the government to the individual.

Moreover, the tax rates we’re discussing have been in place since 2003. To extend those rates would not be a cut. To fail to extend them would constitute a tax increase. I suppose “intelligence” doesn’t require the honest use of terminology.

In addition, the premise is overly simplistic because it suggests that extending the Bush rates for the highest income bracket would cost the government revenues dollar for dollar, as if we have a completely static economy. The mentally gifted simply refuse to acknowledge the empirical evidence showing that reductions in marginal income tax rates during the Kennedy years, the Reagan years and the George W. Bush years resulted in increases in revenue. They also fail to factor in the economic truism that tax increases during bad economic times retard growth and thus constitute a drag on tax revenues.

Finally, the premise ignores that voters were rejecting Obama’s big spending across the board and that the extension of the Bush rates would be only one small part of the equation. Those voting out the Democrats were overwhelmingly repudiating Obama’s reckless spending in virtually every other category — save defense. That is, they voted not against their interests, Mr. Lueders and Professor Franklin, but consistent with them.

You might be interested in some other pronouncements by Professor Erudition. One example: In an article in Politico about a year ago, Franklin wrote, “The issue that has dominated the summer and fall, health care reform, will most likely not remain high on voters’ list of the most important problems in 12 months regardless of the outcome of legislation.” Well, exit polls showed that 20 percent of voters believed health care was not only important but the most important issue. Doubtless, a full majority of voters believed it was among the most important problems, even if not the most important.

The liberal intelligentsia’s contempt for the American people is well-established. Franklin’s snarky outburst is little different from then-ABC anchorman Peter Jennings’ statement that American voters had a temper tantrum when they delivered a congressional majority to Republicans in 1994, Obama’s assessment that voters are irrational because they are scared, or the Bush haters bitterly decrying the 2000 and 2004 elections with their observation that red-state voters were “reality-challenged.” And it’s no different from liberals’ perpetual characterization of Republican political figures as stupid, from Reagan to George W. Bush to Sarah Palin.

I’ll tell you what is rather silly; I don’t want to say “stupid.” It’s this repeated assertion that one’s political viewpoint is based on intelligence, when it is far more related to one’s worldview and disposition. For every brilliant, average or unintelligent liberal, I’ll show you a brilliant, average or unintelligent conservative. Ideology is not a function of IQ, and political allegiances and policy preferences are often unrelated to facts.

If you want an example of “stupid” — or at least intellectual negligence — consider the childish willingness on the part of so many intellectuals, on the left and the right, to deify candidate Obama during the 2008 presidential campaign.

Then again, hasn’t it always been axiomatic that “intellectuals” lack common sense? In their minds, Jimmy Carter was going to make the ideal president.

What’s worse, many of them think he did.

Please save us from the intellectuals. (David Limbaugh)
