Predictable Woes

I said 7 years ago when I started this blog that this was going to happen. It was predictable.

Two Words: Adverse Selection. 🙂

Republicans and many health policy experts said this would happen – that’s one of the reasons the GOP wouldn’t sign off on it.

So now that the obvious has come true, Barack Obama is floating an idea to save the entire system: Go full-steam into true socialized medicine, complete with the dreaded “public option.”

In an article for The Washington Post,  Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, a former Obamacare top official, said he had a fix for the problems. He offered a five-prong solution, but one in particular stands out: A public option.

He says that “we should consider a public option,” because “consumers should never be subject to the whims of insurer withdrawals or withdrawal threats,” The Daily Caller is reporting.

I said the objective of ObamaCare as crammed down our throats by the Democrats was only to crash the whole thing so that the Government could ride in and “save” everyone from it by doing EVEN MORE of it, namely Government Controlled Health Care. Its what the Democrats wanted all along and it’s not like they take “no” for an answer when it comes to their Agenda.

Never Let a Crisis Go to Waste.

Barack Obama “authored” a piece in the Journal of the American Medical Association. In it, he argued that progress on Obamacare is through “continuing to implement the Health Insurance Marketplaces and delivery system reform, increasing federal financial assistance for Marketplace enrollees,” and by “introducing a public plan option in areas lacking individual market competition.”

2009: Obama told the Washington Post that he thought a public option would provide the most Americans the greatest access to healthcare.

That same year, in an interview with Univision, Obama said a public option in the exchanges is “something that we can still include as part of a comprehensive reform effort.”

And he only has a few month left in office. There is no guarantee, despite what the Liberals and The Liberal Media have been doing to rig the election, that a Democrat will be around to finish us off.

And it’s not like someone is going to tell you about it.

Townhall: The number of uninsured is expected to spike by 2 million people between 2017-2026, the number of those enrolled came in 24 million under the original CBO projections, a large percentage of those who enrolled in Obamacare were already insured before their previous plans were gutted under the law, and the whole notion that the law is on the verge of total collapse. It’s a total disaster, yet NBC News, CBS News, and ABC News’ evening programs seem to ignore that President Obama’s signature domestic achievement is on life support.

The honorable mention is CBS Evening News, which has devoted 2 minutes and 18 seconds of airtime to Obamacare woes…for the entire year thus far. Mike Ciandella of the Media Research Center crunched the numbers. It’s not pretty, folks—believe me:

The broadcast networks have refused to cover the repeated failures of ObamaCare in 2016. During the entire year, ABC World News Tonight and NBC Nightly News have yet to give the floundering program any coverage at all, while CBS Evening News only found time to cover two of the ObamaCare updates – and that only added up to 2 minutes and 18 seconds of coverage for the entire year.To put that in perspective, these same three evening news shows managed to find 46 minutes and 49 seconds to dedicated to Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte running afoul of Brazilian police.

[…]

Here are some of the major ObamaCare developments that the networks ignored:

February: Investigators from the Government Accountability Office successfully defraud the ObamaCare system 11 out of 12 times.

No network evening news coverage

[…]

April: Premiums rise, deductibles spike as high as 76 percent in some states

No network evening news coverage

May 12: Federal judge says the President is illegally using federal money to pay for premium subsidies

No network evening news coverage

August: Aetna announced that it plans to back out of ObamaCare, after losing $300 million this year from individual coverage sold on the ObamaCare exchanges. Aetna and Humana join UnitedHealth in pulling out of ObamaCare.

Only CBS Evening News covered this, for 1 minute, 55 seconds on August 16

Well, of course, you know this is media malpractice. A significant law is on the verge of disaster millions of Americans’ health care coverage could be detrimentally impacted, and the media is doing their best to shield the White House from fanning the flames of their horrible law. That’s sounds like par of the course…sadly.

You Just Might Be A Liberal…

Are you not sure that you’re a liberal? Well, there’s an easy way to find out. You might be a liberal if…

1) ….Your newspaper calls people “bigoted” for being worried about bringing Syrian refugees to America, but you won’t run pictures of Muhammad because you’re afraid Muslims might kill you for it.

2) ….You think every man accused of sexual assault is guilty until proven innocent except Bill Clinton.

3)….You insist that anyone who questions global warming hates science even though you don’t understand any of the science behind it yourself and you say we have to do something about climate change primarily because you want to impress your liberal friends.

4) ….You are terrified that holding terrorists at Guantanamo Bay who are trying to murder Americans might make the other terrorists who are trying to murder Americans mad.

5) ….You believe there’s a “Republican War on Women;” yet you are okay with aborting baby girls for any reason, think any man who says he identifies as a woman should be able to use the women’s bathroom and you want to put Bill Clinton back in the White House.

6) ….You claim to constantly hear Republican “dog whistles” that 99% of the population misses; yet you’d deny you’re racist for insisting that black Americans aren’t competent enough to get an ID to vote.

7) …You think there’s a possibility that Obama might be able to have a productive conversation with radical Islamists who want to kill us, but dialogue with the NRA is impossible.

8)….You believe Hillary Clinton is telling the truth. About anything. Ever.

9) ….You simultaneously believe the police are violent trigger-happy racists who shoot people for no good reason and that we should disarm the populace so that only the government has guns.

10) ….You went to a talk given on your campus by a conservative just so you could scream at him for “invading your safe space.”

11) ….You think Chris Kyle was a monster for killing so many enemies of America while Bowe Bergdahl deserves to be treated with respect and compassion after deserting his unit.

12) ….You believe you’re a caring and compassionate person because you advocate giving other people’s money away to people you hope will vote for candidates you like.

13) ….You believe that anyone who dislikes Barack Obama must hate him because he’s a minority, but your hatred of Ted Cruz and Clarence Thomas is perfectly justifiable.

14) ….You think you are a sophisticated person with a deep understanding of complex political issues, but sum up every one with some variation of, “Republicans are evil, racist, and they hate you while liberals like me are nice!”

15) ….You think it’s vitally important to increase the number of Muslim immigrants coming to America so they can inform on all the other Muslims who are planning terrorist attacks.

16) ….You blame the Republicans for the failure of Obamacare even though none of them voted for it.

17) ….Your first response to a terrorist attack committed by radical Islamists who’ve sworn allegiance to ISIS is to try to disarm every law-abiding gun owner in the country.

18) ….You think an unemployed, white factory worker who’s struggling to feed his family has some sort of racial privilege compared to Barack Obama, Melissa Harris Perry or Al Sharpton.

19) ….You say fences don’t work and gun-free zones do, but if Republicans wanted the fence around the White House taken down and demanded that the Secret Service be disarmed, you’d accuse them of trying to get Obama killed.

20) ….You believe Bruce Jenner is a woman, Rachel Dolezal is black and Elizabeth Warren is an Indian.

21)  Food in any way can be a “microagression” based on race, religion, sex, or ethnicity.

22) Freedom is Slavery. Ignorance is Strength. Guns kill people so getting rid of Guns will kill less people.

23) The Power of Life and Death is “Pro-Choice”.

24) Any immigration is good no matter how it was done and anyone opposed to any immigration of any kind is “racist”.

25) A Religion is a Race, unless they are Christians, then they are just bigots.

26) Utter the word “islamophobia” and mean it.

27) Anything with a (D) after their name is ok and can do anything they want because it’s better than they alternative.

28) Democrats Lie, but it’s your fault not theirs.

29) A Tax is a Penalty, even after it’s ruled a Tax it’s still a Penalty.

30) “What Difference Does it Make?”

31) It was the fault of a You Tube Video.

32) That the Media is not biased and that people like Hillary and Barack are “moderates” and any Republican is “extreme”.

Self-Reliance

Somewhere between people fleeing the tyranny of monarchy and the class system and the unfair practices it fostered, the folks looking for the freedom to practice their deeply held religious beliefs – those ordinary human beings who only wanted a chance to control their own lives and fortunes with their wits and sweat and the adventurers who wanted to be a part of taming a new land – yes, somewhere between this breed of men and women and the present day, America’s train has jumped the track.

There was a time when a mule and 40 acres was considered a sufficient starting place for a person to stand on their own two feet and begin to build his fortune. A little hard work and good planning could result in a good lifestyle and a healthy nest egg to see him through his golden years.

There were no entitlements, no health insurance and no government subsidies for a failing crop or a bankrupt business venture. The only safety net available was the grace of God and what you could either grow, shoot or catch, and that was all you had to live on.

Of course, times have changed and modern man has modern problems, and the relatively soft lives we live have weakened the independent, pioneer spirit that was once so necessarily prevalent in those who conquered and settled this land.

The rank and file can no longer be expected to go out and face a wilderness with only a plow and a gun. But, all things considered, should the scale of independence and self-reliance have fallen to the point that so many of us think we can’t make it without assistance from an intrusive and increasingly socialistic government?

There are people who seem to think that the entitlements they receive grow on trees, that the bureaucracies just go into the orchards and harvest what they need.

A lot of these same people seem to think that anybody who has accomplished and accumulated anything has done so by hook and crook or by taking it away from people like them. They believe that they deserve a piece of the American Pie for doing nothing more than breathing, that there needs to be a mass redistribution of wealth, and they never consider that even now the tax rates in America have chased American industry to foreign shores, where the goods are manufactured and sold back to America without benefit of the jobs they provide.

They look at Obamacare as if it were a gift from a benevolent president, a guarantee of affordable, quality health care for all, and they never realize that the principle of “every action has an equal and opposite reaction” is very much in force. They will not realize it until the full ramifications of this deception reaches fruition and doctors start retiring, hospitals start closing down and the development and production of new medicines start to slow to a snail’s pace.

They look at “taxing the rich” – the perennial cry of the liberal block – as the just way to settle our fiscal problems, never realizing that it is a farce, that even if the total wealth of every millionaire and billionaire in the United States of America were confiscated it would not be enough to even pay the National Debt.

And the truly tragic part of that attitude is that they just don’t realize that money printed without true value to back it up is worthless. The entire monetary system of Planet Earth is in danger of imploding. If, and maybe, I should say, when, America’s currency becomes so devalued that the world will no longer accept it as the standard of international trade and America has to buy another nation’s currency to pay for all imports, the game changes radically.

When the rabid inflation that is unseen by most and hidden by the smoke and mirrors of politics, and is even now nipping at the heels of our tenuous fiscal debacle, catches up, and the Fed begins the interest rate climb – when our devalued currency rate will require the entire GNP just to pay the interest on the National Debt – entitlements, health care, food stamps and every other government assistance will be severely reduced or cut out altogether. The whole system of government dependence will fold like a house of cards and there will be confusion and violence in the streets that this country has never seen.

Because when the gravy train finally slows down and stops, many of the people who have ridden it for years simply won’t understand why it stopped. They will have become so dependent on government that they won’t have any idea how to carry on their lives without it. Look at what’s happening in Greece.

I’m certainly not smart enough to have the answers, but I am smart enough to see that if drastic measures are not taken immediately, if America doesn’t go back to work, if the politicians don’t stop spending, if the coming generations aren’t taught at least a modicum of self-reliance, America is doomed to the trash heap of history along with all the other nations whose train came off the tracks.

Maybe it’s a good time to buy a garden hoe and a gun.

What do you think?

Pray for our troops and the peace of Jerusalem.

God Bless America

“mundane matters often get brushed aside by ideological crusaders out to change the world to fit their own vision. When the world fails to conform to their vision, then it seems obvious to the ideologues that it is the world that is wrong, not that their vision is uninformed or unrealistic….To those with the crusading mentality, failure only means that they should try, try again — at other people’s expense, including not only the taxpayers but also those whose lives have been disrupted, or even made miserable and dangerous, by previous bright ideas of third parties who pay no price for being wrong.”

Doesn’t that sum up the Left in a nutshell.

Holder is also taking legal action against the state of Louisiana for having so many charter schools, on grounds that these schools do not mix and match the races the way that public schools are supposed to.

The fact that those charter schools which are successful in educating low-income and minority students that the public schools fail to educate are giving these youngsters a shot at a decent life that they are not likely to get elsewhere does not deter the ideological crusaders.

Nor does it deter the politicians who are serving the interests of the teachers’ unions, who see public schools as places to provide jobs for their members, even if that means a poor education and poor prospects in life for generations of minority students. All this ideological self-indulgence and cynical political activity is washed down with lofty rhetoric about “compassion,” “inclusion” and the like. (Thomas Sowell)

In August, DOJ’s civil rights division — the same bunch that dropped the case of a group of New Black Panthers wearing military garb and carrying billy clubs as they stood outside a Philadelphia polling place in 2008 — filed suit against the state of Texas. In it, the government said it would not allow the Supreme Court’s decision to be interpreted as open season for states to pursue measures that suppress voting rights.

In its suit, DOJ also contends that Texas adopted a voter identification law with the purpose of denying or restricting the right to vote on account of race, color or membership in a language minority group. Under Texas law, Holder said, “Many of those without IDs would have to travel great distances to get them — and some would struggle to pay for the documents they might need to obtain them.”

Holder called such fees “poll taxes,” a mechanism once used by southern states to keep poor minorities from voting.

Holder’s problem is that the Supreme Court has already ruled that requiring photo IDs to vote — as required, for example, at the 2012 Democratic National Convention — does not constitute an undue burden on minorities since the requirement and any fees are applied to all voters equally.

A study by the University of Delaware and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln found that “concerns about voter identification laws affecting turnout are much ado about nothing.” Nothing, that is, unless you are an administration willing to play the race card to gain minority votes in the next election.

Just as in Indiana no one could find a single voter disenfranchised by Voter ID, the vote results in Georgia also expose the myth of voter disenfranchisement, according to an Atlanta Journal-Constitution review of statewide voting patterns after the law took effect in 2008.

“Elections data reviewed by the AJC show that participation among black voters rose by 44% from 2006 — before the law was implemented — to 2010. For Hispanics, the increase for the same period was 67%. Turnout among whites rose 12%,” the newspaper reported.

“If you look at the numbers, they clearly show that critics of this law were wrong,” said Hans von Spakovsky, former legal counsel to the Justice Department’s civil rights division who now works for the conservative Heritage Foundation. “Their argument has always been it would depress turnout. But it didn’t happen — quite the opposite.” (IBD)

But the reason they are so hopped-up about it is clearly just racial politics. Whitey doesn’t want you to vote for a Democrat, that sort of BS.

The politics of racial division , is “inclusion”.

A news release issued Tuesday by Health and Human Services refers to “our federal family.” How charming of Washington to try to con Americans into thinking that it’s a nurturing institution.

The federal government has in fact become a belligerent force, and for HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius to make it sound as if it’s a warm, cuddly family that merely wants to protect its own is an insidious use of language. It’s an obvious effort to cloud reality, to reshape Americans’ thinking. (IBD)

Orwell couldn’t do any better.

H.L. Mencken famously said “the urge to save humanity is almost always a false front for the urge to rule.” He understood what the “federal family” is really all about.

Do you?

Fail Fail Again

If at first you don’t succeed, Try, try again…

Concerned that foreclosed subprime borrowers won’t qualify for another home for years, housing-rights groups want banks to offer them “dignity mortgages.” Here we go again.

This is the left’s latest scheme to make amends for its disastrous experiment to socialize mortgages for people who could not afford homes before the crisis and should never have been approved in the first place.

But it won’t end any better, especially for the inner-city minorities whose credit the left’s already ruined.

Housing activists’ new bright idea is approving home loans for people who have rebuilt their finances since losing their job and their homes during the crisis, but who still have bad credit.

Though required to make a down payment, inner-city housing groups could front them the money.

This new type of loan they’re pitching to bank regulators would come with a higher rate to cover the higher risk.

But it would be capped so that deadbeat borrowers would pay only up to 1.25 percentage points above creditworthy borrowers.

So if, for example, a customer with sterling credit and 20% down payments got a 3.5% fixed rate, the risky applicant would get OK’d for 4.75%.

Reset Clause

But if he made timely payments for five years, the rate would drop to 3.5%, and the extra money paid in interest would be used to reduce the mortgage balance.

Only, the borrower doesn’t always have to pay. If he loses his job or his spouse, a “reset clause” lets him suspend payments temporarily.

But here’s the real kicker: Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac eventually would be required to take the loans off banks’ hands.

That’s right, those same failed government wards that epically collapsed and brought down the entire mortgage industry with them after taking on too much subprime risk before the crisis.

The so-called dignity mortgage is the brainchild of Greenlining Institute’s Bob Gnaizda and Operation Hope’s John Bryant, who worry low-income blacks and Latinos are being denied credit in the wake of record subprime defaults.

They cite recent Fed lending data that show just 4% of all home loans were made to African-Americans, who make up 13% of the population, and 6% to Latinos, who represent 16%.

Ignoring credit-score data explaining the shortfalls, they charge that banks are “redlining” minorities again.

Redistributionists At Work

Both groups have redistributionist agendas. Greenlining is a Berkeley, Calif.-based anti-redlining group that before the crisis shook down banks for subprime mortgages for minorities with bad credit.

Recently, it argued for expanding the Community Reinvestment Act — a prime suspect in the lending debacle — to correct racial “inequities” in everything from stock ownership to business contracts to employment.

Bryant, meanwhile, is a major Obama supporter.

As IBD first reported, his inner-city group is a one of the recipients of millions in payola extorted from banks by Attorney General Eric Holder during his witch hunt over “lending discrimination.”

“You get your dignity back,” Bryant told foreclosed borrowers, “a chance to reset your life without being called a bum or your credit ruined.”

Don’t fret, he and Gnaizda tell worried bankers, they’ll make sure this new class of superdeadbeat applicant gets financial counseling.

This time, they promise needy borrowers will pay their bills, and in exchange for their altruism, lenders will get CRA credit from regulators.

Where have we heard this story?

Dignity mortgages are just repackaged subprime loans promoted by the same radical groups that trapped minorities in them the last time.

Thanks, but no thanks. We don’t need a sequel to this financial horror show.

But just like the original, it won’t be there fault in 10 years or so when it all crashes again.
It’s never there fault. They aren’t held accountable. So they will continue bang their head against that wall until they win.
IF they just try hard enough, long enough and have the best of intentions they will succeed! 😦
Thus, they never learn there lesson.
And we pay the price.

Less is More

Hilariously disingenuous Quote of 2013 so far, Our Dear Leader:

“We cannot mistake absolutism for principle, or substitute spectacle for politics, or treat name-calling as reasoned debate,” Obama said from atop the Capitol steps overlooking the National Mall.

Remind of the Tucson “Civility” Speech a year ago:

“But at a time when our discourse has become so sharply polarized -– at a time when we are far too eager to lay the blame for all that ails the world at the feet of those who happen to think differently than we do -– it’s important for us to pause for a moment and make sure that we’re talking with each other in a way that heals, not in a way that wounds.”

Too Bad he doesn’t mean a word of it and his minions will not heed these word for even a microsecond and he knows that. This stuff is for the consumption of the stupid, ill-informed, I-don’t-wanna-know voter and for the Liberal media for fawn over.

In short, it’s for the stupid and uniformed “peasant” masses and your King is just giving a lofty speech of  Sound and Fury signifying nothing!

And The Ministry of Truth is doing it’s job and be a sycophant and fawn all over his gloriousness.

“We will respond to the threat of climate change, knowing that the failure to do so would betray our children and future generations,” the president said.

But the threat posed by his over-the-top spending. Let’s not be to be too hasty. Let’s go slow. Let’s do next to nothing.

It’s not on the Agenda so it really doesn’t matter.

He said America must not rest until “all our children, from the streets of Detroit to the hills of Appalachia to the quiet lanes of Newtown, know that they are cared for, and cherished, and always safe from harm.”

Santa Claus is coming to town and the distractions are looking good for him.

We are from the Government and we are here to help you… 🙂

Officially, some 23 million people don’t have regular work. While official unemployment has dipped below 8%, the real unemployment rate — the one that counts discouraged workers and those who’d like full-time jobs but can’t find one — is 14.4%. (Which is actually higher than 4 years ago!!)

Yes, we know, this is a tired litany. And yet, have we become as a people so inured to Obama’s failure that we no longer take note of it?

After all, if you complain about it your just a hateful, divisive, ne’er-do-well who just wants everything to fail. You have no hope. Obama is your only hope!

FEAR IS HOPE!

Worse, do we just do nothing, letting Obama’s ruinous Keynesian experiments take their course?

The Liberal Media will bash into the ground worse than The Incredible Hulk jumping up and down on your carcass if you don’t play along.

During Obama’s first weeks in office in early 2009, hopes were high. At the time, he promised that, if Congress passed his $830 billion stimulus right away, by December of 2012 unemployment would be 5.2%.

Well, guess what: it’s 7.8%. (and that’s what it was 4 years ago at this time!)

That’s failure enough. But it’s far worse than even that. Today, we are still 4 million jobs below the pre-recession peak of employment. Just 460,000 jobs total have been created during Obama’s tenure.

But the Liberal will tell you it’s millions because of their fuzzy, dishonest partisan Math “skills”. But how do you create millions of jobs but still have the same unemployment rate (U3) but a higher U6??

They won’t answer that. You’re not supposed to ask that.

At the current rate of 151,000 new jobs a month with about 120,000 new entrants into the workforce each month, it would take, oh, until about 2024 just to get back to the our pre-recession peak in employment.

Today, the average time spent unemployed by those who lose jobs is 39.7 weeks — near its highest since the Great Depression. Some 4.8 million Americans are long-term unemployed, a national disgrace. Meanwhile, unemployment rates for youths and minorities are stuck at double-digit levels.

Beneath all these depressing statistics is a hard fact: The Obama economy has horribly underperformed.

But you’ll never here that from the Ministry of Truth or Obama’s Minions. They have done an ‘outstanding’ job against the odds considering how much evil they have had to fight because of George W. Bush! And those evil “obstructionist” Republicans who just want to kiss the rich and kill the poor. And let’s not even talk about the violent domestic terrorists, The Tea Party!! Pure abominations they all are.

Just have to give them more time. GWB’s evil is ever present and ever-growing to them.

The long-term GDP growth average for the U.S. is about 2.5% annually. Under Obama, growth has averaged about 1.6%. All told, therefore, our our GDP today is 9% less, or $1.4 trillion less, than it should be. That’s what the Obama economy has cost you.

And the service on the debt now is $1.4 Trillion a year. That’s one hell of a minimum credit card payment!

Obama has spent four years not passing budgets, running up trillion-dollar deficits, piling on $6 trillion in debt, spending $800 billion on phony “stimulus,” while hitting businesses large and small with an estimated $518 billion in new regulations.

And that doesn’t include the coming hit from new taxes contained in the fiscal cliff deal and ObamaCare that will start hitting entrepreneurs and small businesses this year. In short, don’t expect boom times. (IBD)

Expect Less. He’ll meet your expectations and everyone will be happy.
Now that’s an America every one can get behind.
Sounds Great. Less Results!
Don’t look to the Sky, Look at your Feet!
Strive for Less and you’ll succeed!!
Now that’s America 2013! Be Loud and Proud! 🙂

It was Bush’s Fault! Damn Republicans…

The Dependent Life

Americans have now elected twice a man who said he wanted to spread the wealth around. So how ugly is it going to get? The Senate Budget Committee says welfare spending will nearly double in 10 years. This would be the Senate Budget Committee that refused to pass a budget for the 4th time in a row despite it being a requirement of both the Congress and The President. 🙂

Using data from the Congressional Research Service and Congressional Budget Office, the Budget Committee’s Republican staff has added up what’s spent on cash aid, health assistance, housing assistance, and social and family services.

All told, welfare spending will rocket from roughly $800 billion in the current fiscal year to about $1.4 trillion in fiscal 2022 — a nearly 80% jump.

All told, overall welfare spending for the decade will be $11 trillion — “roughly one-quarter of cumulative federal spending,” the Budget Committee reports.

And that doesn’t even include state spending on welfare, which, when added to federal benefits, was more than $1 trillion in fiscal 2011. That’s enough, the Budget Committee tells us, “to mail every household in poverty a check for $60,000 each year.”

How did we get here? In Obama-esque fashion, of course. The committee says the unimaginable spending is in part “driven by a series of controversial recruitment methods that include aggressive outreach to those who say they do not need financial assistance.”

Recruitment. Come be poor on the government’s dime. It’s free, it’s easy and you can be lazy. And all you have to do to maintain it is vote for me because the other guy’s an asshole who wants to take your candy away.

“Recruitment workers are even instructed on how to ‘overcome the word “no”‘ when individuals resist enrollment,” says committee research. “The USDA and Department of Homeland Security also have promotions to increase the number of immigrants on welfare despite legal prohibitions on welfare use among those seeking admittance into the United States.”

We want you to buy this poverty that you don’t need and you get a Free Obama Phone as free gift, and if you act now we’ll throw in free internet also!

So where’s my Ginzu Knife? 🙂

The best welfare program is not a government plan.

It is a strong, expanding economy, which is, in fact, the only path for overcoming poverty.

But poverty and the class warfare to go with it works much better for Democrats. A Permanent underclass is preferred. And then you add in 12 million illegal aliens and you have a voting block to win elections regardless of how bad things get for everyone else. What could be better than that? 🙂

Science fiction writer Robert Heinlein noted that “throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man.” It is only through free enterprise, which is fed by open trade, unfettered capitalism and liberalized markets, that humans have emerged from their natural state in which life was nasty, brutish and short.

To paraphrase the great Milton Friedman, man’s great achievements have not been the product of a government program, a redistributionary scheme or bustling bureaucracy. They are due to the simple profit motive at work in political systems that let people be fittingly compensated for their innovations and efforts.

No system has lifted man’s standard of living as free enterprise has. As Friedman also once said, the masses that suffer the most from grinding poverty are those trapped in societies that depart from free enterprise.

But Free enterprise is evil. Just as a Democrat.

“The record of history is absolutely crystal clear,” he said. “There is no alternative way so far discovered of improving the lot of ordinary people that can hold a candle to the productive activities that are unleashed by a free enterprise system.”

Washington’s focus should be on removing the restraints it has placed on free enterprise rather than busying itself with building a nation of dependents, as it has for the last eight decades.

But then it wouldn’t all be about them and what they want. We can’t have that!!

A growing welfare state helps no one — aside from politicians who traffic in addiction to government — but a burgeoning economy improves everyone’s well being.

But the addiction to government IS what government wants. The more the merrier.

Having people struggle and fail and struggle and succeed is far worse than people just sitting back and letting government do everything for them and then voting to continue to give them more and more of less and less and less.

It’s not what’s good for the people that matters. Its what’s good for the government that matters. After all, government is both Mother and God all rolled into one. Government can solve anything, can take care of anyone, better than any force on earth, right?

The best policy? Doubling not welfare spending over the next decade, but the size of the economy. (IBD)

But then you have a bunch ungrateful rich and independent people who want to do what’s best for THEM, and not you the government and we can’t allow that to happen now can we.
And don’t bother talking to people about inflation. The Democrats have bred their cattle dumb and with an unhealthy uninformed narcissism just like they like them.

If you put $1,000 in your piggy bank in 1960 and took it out to spend in 2000, you would discover that your money had, over time, lost 80 percent of its value.

Despite all the political rhetoric today about how nobody’s taxes will be raised, except for “the rich,” inflation transfers a percentage of everybody’s wealth to a government that expands the money supply. Moreover, inflation takes the same percentage from the poorest person in the country as it does from the richest.

That’s not all. Income taxes only transfer money from your current income to the government, but it does not touch whatever money you may have saved over the years. With inflation, the government takes the same cut out of both. (thomas sowell)

But “soak the rich” is the battle cry to get the addicted to rise up against their “oppressor” and vote to stick it to them!!!
The sheep then get sheered and don’t even know they got fleeced.
Always the best strategy for a thief, to make sure the mark never knows (or know way too late) that they’ve been robbed.
The use The Ministry of Truth to cover it up and rile up the addicts and you have the making a of a perpetual E-motion machine that will do your bidding almost mindlessly.
What could be better.

The biggest and most deadly “tax” rate on the poor comes from a loss of various welfare state benefits– food stamps, housing subsidies and the like– if their income goes up.

Someone who is trying to climb out of poverty by working their way up can easily reach a point where a $10,000 increase in pay can cost them $15,000 in lost benefits that they no longer qualify for. That amounts to a marginal tax rate of 150 percent– far more than millionaires pay. Some government policies help some people at the expense of other people. But some policies can hurt welfare recipients, the taxpayers and others, all at the same time, even though in different ways.

Why? Because we are too easily impressed by lofty political rhetoric and too little interested in the reality behind the words. (Thomas Sowell)

Dependency is Life. Life is dependency.
Government is your GOD.God will provide (hence cutting spending is also an evil that must be destroyed).
Life isn’t fair, but Government will make it fair! For you! All you have to is sell your soul to the Government store!
Join the faith!!!…. You will be Assimilated!…. or else!
