Did you call a transsexual person “he” or “she” when they preferred to be called “zhe?” According to a newly updated anti-discrimination law in New York City, you could be fined an eye-watering $250,000.

In the latest, astonishing act of draconian political correctness, the NYC Commission on Human Rights have updated a law on “Discrimination on the Basis of Gender Identity or Expression” to threaten staggering financial penalties against property owners who “misgender” employees or tenants.

Incidents that are deemed “wilful and malicious” will see property owners face up to $250,000 in fines, while standard violations of the law will result in a $125,000 fine. For small business owners, these sums are crippling.

It’s not as simple as referring to transmen “he” or transwomen as “she,” either. The legislation makes it clear that if an individual desires, property owners will have to make use of “zhe,” “hir” and any other preferred pronoun. From the updated legislation:

The NYCHRL requires employers and covered entities to use an individual’s preferred name, pronoun and title (e.g., Ms./Mrs.) regardless of the individual’s sex assigned at birth, anatomy, gender, medical history, appearance, or the sex indicated on the individual’s identification. Most individuals and many transgender people use female or male pronouns and titles.

Some transgender and gender non-conforming people prefer to use pronouns other than he/him/his or she/her/hers, such as they/them/theirs or ze/hir

Other violations of the law include refusing to allow individuals to use single-sex facilities such as bathrooms that are “consistent with their gender identity,” failing to provide employee health benefits for “gender-affirming care” and “imposing different uniforms or grooming standards based on sex or gender.”

Examples of such illegal behaviour include: “requiring female bartenders to wear makeup,” “Permitting only individuals who identify as women to wear jewellery or requiring only individuals who identify as male to have short hair,” and “permitting female but not male residents at a drug treatment facility to wear wigs and high heels.”

So, Klinger on M*A*S*H could not get Col. Blake or Col. Potter fined $250,000 for objecting to him where a dress to work. (Military Protocols aside because after all, that just government sanctioned discrimination anyhow).

Not mention that Klinger being of Middle Eastern descent could also charge him with Islamophobia!

Yeah, that make perfect sense! 🙂

In other words, if a bar owner prevents male bartenders from wearing lipstick and heels, they’ll be breaking the law. They’ve now got a choice between potentially scaring off customers, and paying hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines. Regardless of the establishment’s clientèle or aesthetic, every property owner will be forced to conform to the same standard.

This is the latest in what Spiked Online editor-in-chief Brendan O’Neill calls “The Crisis of Character” in the west, in which identities become grounded in subjective interpretation rather than objective reality. The state is now forcing society to recognise the subjective identities of individuals, regardless of how absurd or surreal they may seem. In New York City, recognising someone’s identity is no longer a matter of case-by-case common sense and courtesy. It’s zir way or the highway. (Breitbart)

The Universe of Smug

It’s astonishing that an ideology which such an unbroken track record of failure has adherents who are so incredibly pleased with themselves. It’s like a soda pop executive whose proudest achievement was thinking up New Coke.

Coke at least the sense to admit their mistake. If it we’re a Liberal, it would have said it was Ronald Reagan’s Fault!

For the liberals who aren’t liberal solely because someone is handing them checks for plopping onto the couch all day instead of working, liberalism has become less an ideology than an attitude. It’s an attitude of serene superiority over everyone else based upon absolutely nothing more than liberals’ utter certainty of the rightness of their collectivist cause. That history shows that collectivism always leads to tyranny never seems to put a damper on their confidence.

My new book, Conservative Insurgency, a speculative future history of the struggle to restore our culture to greatness, predicts that one of the reasons America will turn away from liberalism is the utter insufferability of liberals. Hearing them lecturing us on how things should be is like hearing Hillary Clinton lecture us on how to keep our marriages together. In fact, we can probably expect to hear Hillary Clinton lecture us on how to keep our marriages together. After all, she’s the smartest woman in the world with a stellar track record of raising awareness of stuff.

Oh, and just try to press a liberal for an actual, tangible achievement on Hillary’s resume besides enabling her priapic hubby’s tawdry antics. If you do, you’re sexist, cisgender and probably racist.

It’s baffling that they hold themselves in such high regard. Take President Obama, an academic socialist who’s never competently performed an executive function in his life, including during the last five years. Yet he somehow still believes himself to be himself to be God’s gift to humanity. Literally. Except, instead of turning water into wine, he was going to make the oceans recede and cool the earth. We do need to give him credit, I guess. While the oceans haven’t receded, the Earth isn’t getting any warmer, which naturally doesn’t stop the slack-jawed global warming sucker caucus from insisting that the planet will turn into Hades if everyone besides them doesn’t ditch their SUV.

I guess it’s easy to be moral when morality is defined as whatever you need at that moment. Still, it’s annoying to listen to people with such a weird, unearned sense of their own moral superiority. In truth, they are utterly morally illiterate. These are folks who draw parallels between Hamas and Israel when the only parallel between the Israelis and the jihadist degenerates is that they share the habit of breathing oxygen.

You’d be better off discussing ethics with your terrier. At least your dog isn’t going to come up with excuses for Ted Kennedy.

They’re delusional in that they really believe they’re somehow better than people who actually contribute to society. This reinforces the fact that liberalism has become a mere affectation, an act, a pose. It’s like a hipster’s trendy pork pie hat, except it’s an attitude – by having it you send some sort of message about your own awesomeness. Advocating liberalism is the “I only listen to music on vinyl” of American political thinking.

Interestingly, when you look at liberals, many live their lives in a conservative manner. This is because they understand that being liberal in your personal life is a one-way ticket on the high-speed rail line to Failureville.

Do you think Barack Obama would let his two delightful kids fritter their lives away in a miasma of drugs, promiscuity and general sloth? Of course not; those kids are going to work hard and be expected to achieve. But Obama would never expect that of the millions of welfare-sucking losers his party depends on at election time.

No, he needs those Democrat serfs to stay right where they are: poor, trapped and readily exploitable. After all, if they were to live like he does and support themselves, they wouldn’t need him. And the priority for any liberal (after being seen as enlightened) is forcing someone else to need him.

Liberals like to look down upon conservatives as backwoods banjo-strumming freaks just waiting to ambush your canoe trip. Let’s put aside the academic studies that show conservatives are generally better educated than liberals and look at history. Liberalism and its collectivist brethren have never, ever succeeded anywhere they been tried. The results are always more poverty, more misery and less freedom. Always.

Detroit is the poster child of liberalism, but smug liberals conveniently ignore that blasted wasteland, arguing that the next time they’re trusted, well, then they’ll actually pull it off. Liberalism is the triumph of hopelessness over inexperience.

After all, it’s all George Bush’s/The Rich/Corporate America/The Republican’s fault. They are Wile E. Coyote  who thinks that if anything goes wrong with their Master Plan it must be the fault of Acme or The Roadrunner!

And then there are the noxious personal affectations of liberalism. Liberals seem to thrive by flaunting their self-designated signifiers of moral standing, whether it’s by shopping at Whole Foods instead of Safeway or by driving a Volvo instead of a Ford. God forbid you should take your kids to McDonald’s – if you do, the local liberal moms will wag their bony fingers at you and tell you how their young Teagan has been fed only a diet of hand-selected, free-trade Nepalese lima beans and that his salads are made with dolphin-safe kale.

The only people more unhappy than their puny children, who yearn for the delicious, nutritious meat that all human beings need, are the husbands of these harridans. These sad pseudo-men endure without the pleasures of manhood we conservative males take for granted, like being masculine, subsisting only on the thin gruel of their own liberal smugness. Luckily their emasculating wives refuse to allow them to bear firearms like real Americans; if they did, they’d probably eat a bullet.

Oh, you smug liberals, nothing could be more boring than you and your attitude. I think I’m going to have a Big Mac for dinner, just for you.

Sticks & Stones

Sticks and stones still break your bones, but the names have become a hate crime, which now is worse than actually hitting someone with sticks, stones or just about anything else. The First Amendment protects you from government limiting the things you say, but progressives have sidestepped government to essentially render free speech irrelevant…unless you think like they do.

I’ve written before about the Outrage Industrial Complex, the industry spawned by the professional victimhood class ready to be offended on behalf of just about anyone. There’s good money in it, and there’s more money in stirring up offense in people who, in their daily lives, wouldn’t know about something “offensive” and, more importantly, wouldn’t really give a damn were they not riled up by the faux outrage wranglers.

Tony Dungy is a former NFL head coach and the first black coach to win a Super Bowl. Normally that would put Dungy on the “can not criticize list” for progressives because there are few things they love more than race, especially firsts. But Dungy is a Christian, and being a Christian leads the list of things progressives hate – government is their God, and you shall have no other Gods before government.

Dungy made the mistake of speaking honestly when asked whether he would have drafted Michael Sam, the first “openly gay” player to be drafted in the NFL. Sam’s abilities to play on the NFL level are questionable, as evidenced by the fact that he was the 7^th-to-last player drafted, but his celebrity was guaranteed by his sexuality. And his celebrity was the problem for Dungy, not his sexuality.

Dungy said, “I wouldn’t have taken him. Not because I don’t believe Michael Sam should have a chance to play, but I wouldn’t want to deal with all of it. It’s not going to be totally smooth … things will happen.” He was right, things did happen.

What Dungy was referring to clearly wasn’t Sam’s sexuality, but the media circus showered upon a first of anyone in a progressive “preferred class.” Michael Sam is just a football player, but to progressives he is an accomplishment, just not for what he’s done on the field.

Sam was an excellent college football player, but college football ain’t the NFL. Growing up in Detroit, I can tell you first-hand a lot of guys who are big stars in college, such as Andre Ware and Chuck Long, don’t necessarily pan out in the pros. There are other factors pro teams look for to see if amateur success will translate to the pros, and signing on to do a reality show about your life isn’t high on that list. Yet that’s what Sam did with Oprah’s OWN Network.

Sam put this celebrity existence ahead of his football goals. He opted for self over team before he was ever even on a team. No team would want such a distraction – certainly not from a guy drafted just six spots in front of the player they call Mr. Irrelevant.

What happens in the locker room and off the field can have a major impact on what happens on it. And what happens on it matters more than anything else to a franchise that exists to win games. The circus that will follow Sam, that already has formed around him, is partially of his own making. He embraced being a progressive celebrity over the celebrity that comes from being a professional football player.

Teammates will be asked “What’s it like playing with Michael Sam?” or “What do you think of sharing the locker room with a gay man?” Every day, they will have to say something different, fresh, but oh-so-politically correct. Players who actually have earned their notoriety on the field – you know, because they contributed to winning games – will get tired of guarding their every utterance lest it become subject to some out-of-context bastardization that gets them hauled before the cultural police. This cannot help but affect the team’s play.

Or maybe none of it will happen. Tony Dungy, who was a fine player before he went into coaching, has spent considerable time in NFL locker rooms. Maybe he’s totally wrong about how all this will shake out. But he certainly has the qualifications to make such an observation without enduring the backlash that come his way.

And to be fair, Sam didn’t start this. The progressive media did by making him a hero for simply being himself. But he did embrace it.

I don’t blame Sam for taking Oprah’s money. His playing career may not last long, and this may be the best way for him individually to make it pay. But that doesn’t mean an NFL team has to go along with it, and it doesn’t mean someone is a homophobe because they don’t want to. It means they’re thinking about winning over political correctness, which is no longer allowed in the progressives’ world.

Blowhard Mike Lupica wrote a piece entitled, “The only thing worth hearing from Tony Dungy is an apology to Michael Sam,” in which he wrote, “Whatever Dungy says about Sam and a controversy that he created, it is impossible to evaluate why he wouldn’t have wanted Sam on a football team he was coaching without putting all of this into the context of Dungy’s religious beliefs. That means his interpretation of the Bible, and an opposition to same-sex marriage that he’s decided is God’s will, as do all the other people who are as intolerant about the rights of gays as Dungy clearly is.”

It doesn’t read much different in its original German…

Lupica, and the rest of the self-important media, need to paint Dungy as a bigot because the alternative would be to acknowledge their role in creating the template that made every other team, to one degree or another, pass on drafting Sam when they had several chances to do so.

They hurt Michael Sam’s stock as a potential professional football player by elevating what isn’t an accomplishment (being gay) above Michael Sam as a player and a man. All Dungy did was point it out, and that is a curtain the progressive media cannot allow to be pulled back because it would be the end of them.

Josh Barro, juicebox journalist for the New York Times, tweeted this week, “Anti-LGBT attitudes are terrible for people in all sorts of communities. They linger and oppress, and we need to stamp them out, ruthlessly.” He wasn’t calling for people to be rounded up and placed in camps…yet. But he did follow up with, “We don’t even need to change everybody’s mind. Making people too embarrassed to express their anti-gay views is valuable progress.”

Right now, Barro seeks to silence any views that don’t fully embrace the “gay agenda.” But a major part of the progressive agenda is to silence all contrary opinions.

Global warming, health care, immigration reform, regulations, taxes, spending … you name it. Progressives label anyone who strays from their purity plantation as some sort of pejorative – a monster, an “other.” At this point there’s scarcely an American left progressives haven’t labeled some sort of “ist” of “phobe.”

What’s being lost in all of this is the individual. Michael Sam may end up being a great pro football player, and he may not even make the team. But whatever happens to him, thanks to the progressive media, he will not be judged by the same standards everyone else has been judged. He’s not just Michael Sam, he’s something more. But really he is just Michael Sam.

Most of us don’t care that Michael Sam is gay. We care whether he can play football. If not for the media hype, which he somewhat brought on himself, Sam would have something approximating a normal NFL experience. He’d make or not make the team. He’s start or not start. He’d play a lot or very little. But it would be based on his abilities as a player. In fact, it will be. No NFL coach is going to keep him on the roster to keep up appearances. What happens then? How much second-guessing of the coach goes on then?

This is what Tony Dungy, who is one of the most decent, respected people in sports, was talking about. It should be irrelevant, from a football sense, whether Sam is gay. He’s already accomplished a lot. He played on a division-winning team at Missouri, he was the SEC’s defensive player of the year, and he got drafted. Why can’t that be what we talk about when we discuss Michael Sam? Because Sam, the media and progressive America won’t let us.

This isn’t 1947, when Jackie Robinson broke baseball’s color barrier. Nobody is taking to the streets or wanting Sam run out of town. At this point, his coming out elicits a collective yawn, if that. But progressives won’t let him rise or fall on his own as a football player. They won’t let us truly move past discrimination and let Michael Sam be judged on the same things all other players are. They need to divide and conquer. Football teams can’t have that level of distraction and succceed. That’s all Dungy was saying.

By separating Sam the football player from Sam the man, progressives have created the very spectacle Dungy was talking about. And has been said before, you will be made to care, or be stamped out…ruthlessly. (Derek Hunter)

Let me make it clear for you — you will be required to care.Gay rights advocates on the steady march toward and past gay marriage will make you care.

They will not give you room to sit on the fence.

Tim Keller has gotten a lot of heat for saying that “you can believe homosexuality is a sin and still believe that same-sex marriage should be legal.” He was not talking about himself. He was talking about the compromise many young evangelicals are making.

Some, though, are going the next step to

I. Do. Not. Care.

The left will allow no fence sitting. You may not believe me. You may think me hyperbolic. But the history of the world shows this. Events ultimately come to a head. They boil to their essence. And at that point you must choose.

That is why so many Christians are fighting. Because we see in Europe and Canada what will happen here. Christianity is a religion of the city square. Christ compels us to “go forth and teach.” It is the Great Commission. We cannot go forth and teach when the left bars us from the town square.

Many people say we should have legal gay marriage, but not have religious gay marriage. The left will not honor the distinction. Look to Canada. Preachers can be brought up for hate crimes charges merely for discussing passages of the Bible that deal with same sex sexual relations. You may not care that it is a sin, but the world surely does.Look at Louie Giglio, who could not honor the President at his inauguration because of his orthodox Christian beliefs on this subject.

In short, you may choose not to care and in so doing sit on the sidelines or give aid and comfort to the open minded and tolerant who want gay marriage so everyone can have equal rights.

But the world will one day make you care. Your church, should it open its doors to all, but refuse to perform a same sex wedding, will be accused of discrimination. In some places, the church will be forced to stop performing weddings. Many churches will lose their tax exempt status. The costs of sharing the gospel will go up.

Already Christians are being harassed by fellow American citizens for not wanting to participate in a gay marriage.

The time will come, more quickly than you can imagine, when you will be made to care. It is not, as mjdaniels posits, this:

If, as the anti-SSM crowd would have it, the levers of State are to be wielded to enforce the commands of Scripture, then pardon me, but what the H-E-double-hockey-sticks are we doing spending so much time, energy and effort fighting to overturn Obamacare?

We are not using the state to enforce the commands of Scripture. We are using the state to protect our ability to preach the scripture under the first amendment. If the state has the power to change the definition of an institution that it did not create, but that God himself created, the state can compel and coerce the church to honor that definition or sit on the sidelines.

A Christian on the sidelines is a Christian not going forth. You can be a sincere Christian and support the idea of gay marriage. But you would also be foolish to ignore what is going to happen to the church once the state decides something is a matter of equal protection. You can dismiss me now, but you are ignoring what’s already happening.

Keep in mind as well that many of those who you make look to for reassurance that I’m wrong are hostile to the church already and will not be on the side of the church as the equal protection arguments against it grow.

The state did not create marriage and it should not now exert the power to change the definition of that which it did not create.  Those of you who are Christians who support gay marriage will one day have Archbishop Chaput burning in your ears. He said that evil peddles tolerance until it is dominant then seeks to silence good. That’s why Christians fight on this issue. It is not to force themselves on others, but to protect themselves from others being forced on them. (Red State)

The Progressive Fetish

John Hinderaker at Powerline asks: “Why aren’t more voters repelled by the constant parade of vulgarity, hate and violence that characterizes modern liberalism?”

Blame points back to the national media, which have powerful sway over public opinion. If there’s a shortage of shaming and shunning in America, they may be the main reason.

Mass outrage is fomented by mass media; but when it comes to outrage over left-wing extremism, the media are silent. They have no interest in shaming their kind or shunning their own agenda.

Unfortunately, liberals still control the major networks and the lion’s share of the TV audience, and surveys show most voters still get their political information chiefly from TV.

So beyond the several million voters Fox News can whip up against anti-American radicalism, the vast majority of the electorate sees such radicalism portrayed as normal.

Through a constant barrage of propaganda-masquerading-as-news, the major media manipulate the broader public into accepting homosexual rights, socialism and other extremism as mainstream.

With ample help from Hollywood, the media are indoctrinating the public into believing this is “progress,” and that only the unenlightened cling to traditional America. Only troglodytes reject gay marriage or socialized medicine or man-made global warming.

Hence why I call them The Ministry of Truth (1984), which is was in charge of destroying evidence, changing facts and creating propaganda for the masses.

“Vote For Me, The other Guy’s an Asshole”.

I’m sure they are still bitterly disappointed that the Boston bombers weren’t right wing Tea party “patriots” (a left wing slur meaning ‘terrorist’ in pure Orwellian fashion).

Recall how ABC’s Brian Ross incorrectly suggested there might have been a link between the shooter in the Aurora, Colo., theater killings and the Tea Party. Ross rushed before the cameras after finding a man with the same name listed on the site of the Colorado Tea Party.

The glee they must have felt, for a short while. And when it was revealed that he wasn’t it?

They dropped it like it never happened. In their minds it never did.

The wonders of Orwellian Thought Control.

The Ministry  is responsible for any necessary falsification of historical events. The word truth in the title Ministry of Truth should warn, by definition, that the “minister” will self-serve its own “truth”; the title implies the willful fooling of posterity using “historical” archives to show “in fact” what “really” happened. As well as administering truth, the administration deploys a new tongue-in-cheek language amongst administrators called Newspeak, in which, for example, truth is understood to mean statements like 2 + 2 = 5 when the situation warrants.

The Ministry of Truth is involved with news media, entertainment, the fine arts and educational books. Its purpose is to rewrite history to change the facts to fit Party doctrine for propaganda effect.

To the future or to the past, to a time when thought is free, when men are different from one another and do not live alone — to a time when truth exists and what is done cannot be undone: From the age of uniformity, from the age of solitude, from the age of Big Brother, from the age of doublethink — greetings!

‘Who controls the past,’ ran the Party slogan, ‘controls the future: who controls the present controls the past.’

Don’t you see that the whole aim of Newspeak is to narrow the range of thought? In the end we shall make thoughtcrime literally impossible, because there will be no words in which to express it. Every concept that can ever be needed, will be expressed by exactly one word, with its meaning rigidly defined and all its subsidiary meanings rubbed out and forgotten.

Orthodoxy is unconsciousness.

If human equality is to be forever averted—then the prevailing mental condition must be controlled insanity.

The radical left also prevails by fighting dirty.

With no morals, ethics, or standards of decency.

Conservatives still ceremoniously march into battle in perfect formation, like so many I-beam backed redcoats, only to be mowed down by leftist guerrillas lobbing Molotov cocktails and taking potshots from behind trees.

The ever-decent GOP has to start fighting fire with fire, thinking creatively, outside the box, when it engages in tactical warfare.

One of the main reasons for so many deaths in the Civil War was tactics. Napoleonic tactics that were devised for a gun that could kill from 40 yards were now being used against guns that could kill you from 400 yards. Not to mention Cannons and other things.

The straight line forced march was a death march with the technology way ahead of them.

The GOP is using old school tactics. The Liberals are the terrorists just picking them off one by one.

And General “Jar Jar” Boehner is none the wiser.

While vulgarity, hate and violence have no place, the Marquis of Queensbury rules the right follows only work if both sides honor them — and there’s an impartial referee in the ring to make sure they do.

The referee in the ideological and cultural battle to save America’s heritage is anything but fair. It’s the mono-partisan media, who not only side with liberal extremists but throw in a few elbows and low blows of their own.

Winning, no matter what, is the only objective.

Progressives can’t help themselves. When a normal person hears of a tragedy, they feel the natural range of emotions – fear, anger, sympathy, etc. But progressives are not normal humans. When they hear news of a tragedy their first thought is “How can this help the cause?” There’s something oddly perverse about this mental defect that somehow overrides decency in tragedy’s aftermath, but it’s as widespread amongst the political left as freckles are on redheads.

Harsh? Perhaps. But sometimes the truth hurts.

How can I use this to further The Agenda.

MSNBC would not be outdone. The crown-prince of premature projection-ation is Chris Matthews, who said, “Normally, domestic terrorists people tend to be on the far right. Well, that’s not a good category. Just extremists. Let’s call them that.”

From the far right?

Think about that for a second. The political right is about individual liberty and limited government; the political left is about collective action and a strong government. Take the left to the extreme and you find totalitarianism. Along the way you pass socialism, fascism and communism. Take the right to the extreme and you find, essentially, anarchy. Yet when people think of anarchists they think of leftists because what anarchists truly favor is not empowering individuals but for the anarchists themselves to have the power. Anarchists remain at the margins, so it doesn’t matter much. But it’s something to think about the next time you run across a leftist trying to tell you otherwise.

Anytime you talk about progressives the issue of race inevitably comes into play. That’s because dividing and subdividing Americans is what holds their coalition together. That and convincing everyone they’re victims, they shouldn’t bother trying because the system is stacked against them and, more importantly, the only way their lives will improve is through government. Government will protect them from the faceless boogeyman of racism, homophobia, sexism or the big evil corporation that is responsible for their failures. Never can the notion sometimes life happens, sometimes someone is better or more qualified for a job than you, be allowed to seep into the mind. A victim they must forever be.

Because a victim, or someone convinced they are, can be “empowered” by external forces, such as an election. And even when the savior who promises a better life in exchange for a vote does not deliver, the savior is no condemned. Race came into play in the Boston attack in a way it rarely does – through the front door. Progressives love to play the race card, and many of them, white and black, make their living telling minorities they can’t get ahead so just trust in others. One white guy who does is David Sirota, a pasty Coloradan who specializes in finding new ways to use the term “white privilege” in situations no non-race-obsessed profiteer could fathom, wrote a piece for Salon.com entitled, “Let’s hope the Boston Marathon bomber is a white American.” Not, “Let’s hope they’re caught,” but let’s hope their pigment is one I can make money from.

And that power to infect the minds of future generations with their perverted ideas through academia and media may well be the ultimate progressive fetish of them all. (Derek Hunter)

One of the things that gauls me the most about Liberals is their sanctimony.
There absolute conviction that they are the superior moral being and your just a dumb greedy mindless chimp.
A guy on the radio was spewing his sanctimony about “equality” and “fairness” where rich people needed to have their money taken from them because he was more concerned about  the poor and starving and giving them a “fair shot” and an “opportunity”.

Because after all, they have no shot now. And they are incompetent to begin with so government must step in and save the day!
When asked if he was concerned about giving the government the ability to just take a persons money just because they have millions of dollars the sanctimonious liberal just comes back repeated about rich people have different morals and he was concerned with the poor and the starving and refused to answer the question and just want to pontificate about how superior his “morality” was compared to evil non-liberals.
That’s what makes him “feel” good.
All emotion no logic.
All sanctimony.
Paraphrase: “when two babies are born I see one that will work at McDonalds and the other has a trust fund”
The sanctimonious liberal wants to piously pontificate about opportunity for the poor.

The way to do that is take from the rich and give it to the poor but that’s not “redistribution of wealth” because the Liberal puffed himself up and said with due pride “I’m not a socialist I’m just concerned about the poor”.

Yikes! Orwell would be proud of you my son.
That way they have an equal opportunity to work hard and be successful.
Notice anything wrong with that logic??
And then there’s the problem of when does the person who was poor and worked their ass off to make themselves rich cross the line into Evil, rich greed, immoral bastard worthy of having their success stripped from them in the name of the Liberal holy sanctimony??
And what incentive does that give to the person to become rich anyhow?

Hey, if the Liberals are always going to give you everyone’s fish because it’s “fair” and they will “feel” good doing it then why do you need to learn to fish for yourself.

If Master Liberal is always going to promise you that they will deliver the booty why then do you need to “struggle”??

Nancy Pelosi: “It is the biggest bang for the buck when you do food stamps and unemployment insurance. The biggest bang for the buck,” she said.

Then Media Matters goes on to cites the CBO.

But when the CBO came out with ObamaCare was going to cost twice as much and would cause lots of people to lose their own insurance they ignored it.

Funny how that worked out.

The fact that they only give you the scraps and make you “feel” good about and gin up Class Warfare to cover up it’s deficiencies and fakery and keep most of it for THEIR cronies is immaterial because you are told you are entitled to it so when the government hands out its meager portions to you the peasants you are so grateful to your Lord and Master for their protection, wisdom, guidance and love.

If this is starting to sound like a Medieval King-Lord-Royalty-Peasant relationship you are catching my drift.

OBAMACARE

Call it President Obama’s Committee for the Re-Election of the President — a political slush fund at the Health and Human Services Department.

Only this isn’t some little fund from shadowy private sources; this is taxpayer money, redirected to help Obama win another term. A massive amount of it, too — $8.3 billion. Yes, that’s billion, with a B.

Here is how it works.

The most oppressive aspects of the ObamaCare law don’t kick in until after the 2012 election, when the president will no longer be answerable to voters. More “flexibility,” he recently explained to the Russians.

But certain voters would surely notice one highly painful part of the law before then — namely, the way it guts the popular Medicare Advantage program.

For years, 12 million seniors have relied on these policies, a more market-oriented alternative to traditional Medicare, without the aggravating gaps in coverage.

But as part of its hundreds of billions in Medicare cuts, the Obama one-size-fits-all plan slashes reimbursement rates for Medicare Advantage starting next year — herding many seniors back into the government-run program.

The cuts were 1/2 of what was supposed to be the offest of the cost of the original price of ObamaCare. Which is now a 1/4 because the costs of ObamaCare have gone up even before this happens.

But funny how it was all set for after the election… 🙂

Under federal “open-enrollment” guidelines, seniors must pick their Medicare coverage program for next year by the end of this year — which means they should be finding out before Election Day.

Nothing is more politically volatile than monkeying with the health insurance of seniors, who aren’t too keen on confusing upheavals in their health care and are the most diligent voters in the land. This could make the Tea Party look like a tea party.

Making matters even more politically dangerous for Obama is that open enrollment begins Oct. 15, less than three weeks before voters go to the polls.

It’s hard to imagine a bigger electoral disaster for a president than seniors in crucial states like Florida, Pennsylvania and Ohio discovering that he’s taken away their beloved Medicare Advantage just weeks before an election.

This political ticking time bomb could become the biggest “October Surprise” in US political history.

But the administration’s devised a way to postpone the pain one more year, getting Obama past his last election; it plans to spend $8 billion to temporarily restore Medicare Advantage funds so that seniors in key markets don’t lose their trusted insurance program in the middle of Obama’s re-election bid.

The money is to come from funds that Health and Human Services is allowed to use for “demonstration projects.” But to make it legal, HHS has to pretend that it’s doing an “experiment” to study the effect of this money on the insurance market.

That is, to “study” what happens when the government doesn’t change anything but merely continues a program that’s been going on for years.

Obama can temporarily prop up Medicare Advantage long enough to get re-elected by exploiting an obscure bit of federal law. Under a 1967 statute, the HHS secretary can spend money without specific approval by Congress on “experiments” directly aimed at “increasing the efficiency and economy of health services.”

Past demonstration projects have studied new medical techniques or strategies aimed at improving care or reducing costs. The point is to find ways to lower the costs of Medicare by allowing medical technocrats to make efficient decisions without interference from vested interests.

Now Obama means to turn it on its head — diverting the money to a blatantly nonexperimental purpose to serve his political needs.

A Government Accounting Office report released this morning shows, quite starkly, that there simply is no experiment being conducted, just money being spent. Understandably, the GAO recommends that HHS cancel the project.

Congress should immediately launch an investigation into this unprecedented misuse of taxpayer money and violation of the public trust, which certainly presses the boundaries of legality and very well may breach them.

If he’s not stopped, Obama will spend $8 billion in taxpayer funds for a scheme to mask the debilitating effects on seniors of his signature piece of legislation just long enough to get himself re-elected.

Now that is some serious audacity. (NY Post)

And AARP’s stake in MediGap, the “alternative” to Medicare Advantage (which was a program that has worked better than most) has nothing to do with their support of ObamaCare.

If you opted for a Medicare Advantage health plan (aka Part C), you cannot also buy a Medigap policy. (from AARP’s Website).

So if you have the government gut your competition silently as part of the cost cutting of “waste,fraud and abuse” so much the better for you.

Which is why AARP is not a seniors advocacy group, it’s an insurance company! and it’s looking out for it’s bottom line, the greedy capitalist bastards! 🙂

And so, if you have a slush fund for “Medicare” costs that technically  don’t exist yet, and it just happens to find it’s way into your pockets because, after all, this election is all about YOU and YOU are so superior to everyone else and you can’t allow the peasant to revolt against their Lord and Masters now can you!- That’s ok.

Liberals are so superior to you peasants in their minds that how “stupid” and “racist” are you to want to get rid of them.

So, for your own good they must lie,cheat and steal the election to preserve the proper and “fair” relationship of the government and it’s people–The Lords and Masters to the peasants.

Senate Democrats have filed a $1.1 trillion omnibus spending bill that would fund the government through fiscal year 2011, according to Senate GOP sources.

Then there’s the DREAM ACT, Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, etc. They are vastly more important than the debt or deficit!

And if we don’t get them, we’ll stay here until January 5th and hold our breath and turn blue until you kiss our buts!

The package drew a swift rebuke from Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.), chairman of the Senate Republican Policy Committee.

“The attempt by Democrat leadership to rush through a nearly 2,000-page spending bill in the final days of the lame-duck session ignores the clear will expressed by the voters this past election,” Thune said in a statement. “This bill is loaded up with pork projects and should not get a vote. Congress should listen to the American people and stop this reckless spending.

The Senate bill, though, boosts spending by $16 billion.

“We’re not through. Congress ends on Jan. 4,” said Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Nevada Democrat.

So we’ll keep you HOSTAGE until the very last second to pass our Agenda or else!

We are going to squeeze you and everyone else to the last possible second to get our Ideological Obsessions done whether you like it or not.

Furthermore, the majority decided that they just didn’t feel like doing a budget this year. How is that responsible leadership?

“This is the ninth omnibus appropriations bill we have considered in this body since 2000. That is shameful and we should be embarrassed by the fact that we care so little about doing the people’s business that we continuously put off fulfilling our constitutional responsibilities until the very last minute.

“One thing is abundantly clear to me – that the majority has not learned the lessons of last month’s election. The American people could not have been more clear. They are tired of wasteful spending. “Let me be clear about one thing – if the Majority Leader insists on proceeding to this monstrosity – the American people will know what’s in it. I will be joined by many of my colleagues on this side of the aisle to ensure that every single word of this bill is read aloud here on the Senate floor.

Uber Progressive Leftist Alan Colmes on Megyn Kelly’s America Live yesterday discussing the 1/1/11 Tax Increases and Congress in general in getting things done implicitly said that 1-party rule (meaning Democrats) is the only way Washington can function anymore.

“But you don’t have 60 votes in The Senate to override a Republican filibuster”-Colmes

So unless you have an absolute supermajority  1- party rule where everyone is in lock step the minority is going to muck everything up.

Mind you, before Scott Brown’s election in January 2010 the Democrats did have a supermajority and STILL couldn’t pass their agenda. It took legislative trickery and dishonesty to pass ObamaCare after 15 months of wrangling, horse-trading,back room deals and manipulation by DEMOCRATS to pass it.

But even then, it was still the Republican’s fault!

So “Bi-partisan” is a myth.

The Democrats want total control or everything is going to go to hell. After all, they are the vastly superior economic and moral beings- if only those damn Republicans and those damn Tea Partiers would just get out of their way!

I wonder if it will shift on the minority view when the Democrats are in the minority in the House starting in January? 🙂

“According to (Nevadan Harry Reid), Senate Democrats are going to confirm judges, rewrite immigration law, extend unemployment insurance, fix the issue of gays in the military, reorganize the FDA, forestall tax hikes, re-fund the government, and ratify a nuclear arms treaty (and the DREAM act) — all in two, maybe three, weeks. This is the same institution that needs a month to rename a post office.”

Or 15 months to pass Socialized medicine even with a Super-Majority! 🙂

Neither the Republicans nor the Democrats can afford to have all the tax rates go up in January because they couldn’t get together and pass a bill to prevent that from happening (but the Democrats will do it just to preserve their class warfare ideology). But the nature of that bill matters, not just for politicians but — far more important — for the economy.

Speaking of the economy, another sign of the times:

The Soon-to-be Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi just this week: “But it’s also the right thing to do to grow our economy.  Economists tell us that unemployment insurance — the non-partisan Urban Institute estimated that unemployment insurance returns $2 to the economy for every $1 spent. This is money that is needed by families to buy necessities, to heat their homes… and immediately injects demand into the economy — creating jobs.”

Yes, folks, you heard it here- Unemployment creates Jobs and stimulates growth!

So more unemployment must therefore be a good thing.

Let’s all lose our jobs, sit home and watch Oprah and collect our Unemployment $$$ . It should be  a Utopia by Pelosi’s reasoning. 🙂

And Speaking of Pelosi:

In one of her first acts as speaker in 2007, Pelosi, a California Democrat, created the House Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming to draw attention to climate-change science and showcase how a cap on carbon dioxide needn’t be a threat to economic growth.

Republicans, who won control of the House in the Nov. 2 election, have opposed legislative efforts to regulate carbon emissions as a tax on energy. When the panel convened today, Sensenbrenner, a Wisconsin Republican, said that the hearing “will be the last of the select committee.”

Too Bad Nancy, I guess you’ll have to peddle your Global Warming fraud another way…How about The EPA….

Republicans are assuming that cap-and-trade (aka cap-and-tax) is dead because Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid lacks the votes to bring up the House-passed bill and because this issue proved a loser in the 2010 House races. Like the famous Mark Twain saying, its death may be exaggerated.

The Senate’s environmentalism expert, Jim Inhofe, R-Okla., warns us that the Obama administration is trying to implement cap-and-trade anyway by bureaucratic regulations. Directives issued by the Environmental Protection Agency are coming down the pike to increase energy costs and kill jobs.

Last May, the EPA issued what it called a tailoring rule to govern new power plants, oil refineries and factories that yearly emit 100,000 tons or more of carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, hydrofluorocarbons, perfluorocarbons or sulfur hexafluoride. Inhofe reports that this tailoring rule will further reduce our manufacturing base and especially hurt the poor and elderly.

Inhofe predicts that the EPA standards planned for commercial and industrial boilers will cost 798,000 jobs. He also warns about the harmful effects on jobs caused by new rules on ozone emissions.

Since Barack Obama moved into the White House, the EPA has proposed or finalized 29 major regulations and 172 major policy rules. The EPA is, for the first time, simultaneously toughening the regulations on all six major traditional pollutants such as ozone and sulfur dioxide.

Before Climate-gate exposed the politics behind the “science” of global warming, a 5-to-4 Supreme Court ordered the EPA to consider regulating emissions based on that unsubstantiated and now largely discredited theory.

Despite a long record of supporting Obama stimulus and spending legislation, the expected chair of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, Rep. Fred Upton, R-Mich., says, “We are not going to allow this administration to regulate what they have been unable to legislate.”

Opposition to EPA’s new rules is remarkably bipartisan. Seventeen Democrats signed a letter to EPA Director Lisa Jackson opposing them.

Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., was elected after running a TV ad showing himself firing a rifle to put a bullet through a copy of the cap-and-trade bill, and he promised to fight EPA attempts to curb greenhouse gas emissions from coal-fired power plants. He may have a difficult task because Jackson is plotting to force mass retirements of the coal plants that provide half of U.S. electricity.

EPA’s aggressive overregulation is forcing the electric industry to choose between continuing to operate while taking on major capital costs of complying with heavy new burdens or closing down and building new plants that use more expensive sources such as natural gas. The public will surely end up paying higher electric rates (aka a big tax increase).

The ObamaCare law was deviously designed to take decision-making away from our elected representatives and give it to 15 “expert” members of the Obama-appointed Independent Payment Advisory Board. Many provisions of this law prohibit Congress from repealing or changing decisions of the “experts.”

The Obama administration is using administrative regulations to implement what is known as card check, which even the Democratic Congress refuses to legislate. Obama’s recess appointee to the National Labor Relations Board, Craig Becker, has lined up a 3-to-2 board majority to repeal the rule that requires secret ballots in unionization elections.

Currently, a secret ballot of workers is mandated to unionize a company. Becker’s new regulation will eliminate workers’ right and make them subject to coercion and bullying to induce them to vote yes on a card visible to union bosses.

The Obama administration is also toying with a plan to substitute administrative regulations for treaties. Several years ago, the Council on Foreign Relations fingered the treaty provision of the U.S. Constitution as its most objectionable section, and now an ex-Clinton administration State Department bureaucrat, James P. Rubin, has floated a New York Times op-ed suggesting that treaties are not “worth the trouble anymore,” and we should substitute domestic regulations.

The globalists find it inconvenient that our Constitution requires a two-thirds Senate vote for treaty ratification. Horrors! That, they say, causes “international frustration” with America.

This frustration broke into print because there are not enough Senate votes to ratify the New START Treaty that Obama signed with Russia. Rubin’s solution is to ditch the ratification process and substitute executive agreements and pronouncements.

Rubin reminds us that after it became clear the Senate was not going to ratify a climate-change treaty, Obama just used EPA regulations, and so we can do likewise with arms-control treaties. Let’s just ignore the Constitution and let Obama bureaucrats make all important decisions. (IBD)

Or Food, let’s get them where they eat.

A questionable food safety bill in search of a crisis passed the Senate, but may hit a snag in the House. This power grab of the nation’s food supply may end up benefiting a certain Hungarian billionaire. (aka George Soros, puppetmaster of the extreme Left).

Why would the Senate take up precious time in the lame duck session considering a food safety bill?

Just as ObamaCare wasn’t really about health care reform but about government power, S510 is not really about food safety but about government control of agriculture and the nation’s food producers. The Food Safety Modernization Act would give the Food and Drug Administration unprecedented power to govern how farmers produce their crops. The FDA would be able to control soil, water, hygiene, and even temperature, on farms. Through the law, the agency could regulate animal activity in the fields.

“This legislation means that parents who tell their kids to eat their spinach can be assured it won’t make them sick,” said Sen. Tom Harkin, D-Iowa, who wrote the bill, referring to a recent e-coli outbreak traced to spinach.

A crisis is a terrible thing to waste, even if you have to manufacture one. As the Heritage Foundation reports, the nation’s food supply is the world’s safest and getting safer all the time. Incidences of food-borne illnesses, despite headlines about massive egg recalls, have been declining for more than a decade.

In 1996, there were 51.2 cases of confirmed food-borne bacterial contamination per 100,000 people.

By 2009, this fell by a third to 34.8 cases per 100,000 people. So it would seem it’s getting safer for kids to eat their spinach. But then again, this bill isn’t about spinach.

S510 transfers authority over food regulation enforcement from the FDA to the Homeland Security Department, which brought us the TSA, naked body scanners and the groping of our junk. The bill requires the EPA to “participate” in regulating the food chain.

The bill expands government authority and control over America’s 2.2 million farms, 28,000 food manufacturing facilities, 149,000 food and beverage stores, and 505,000 residents and similar facilities. It increases inspections of all food “facilities.”

Because it taxes them for the privilege, the House must pass a new version of the bill to be sent back to the Senate. The Constitution requires all tax bills to originate in the House, and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, who opened the session with a five-minute soliloquy on football, should have known that.

One interesting feature of the bill is a bunch of new regulations regarding seeds and seed cleaning that requires expensive equipment. Smaller concerns might not be able to handle the added burden, concentrating the handling of seed production in the hands of corporate giants like Monsanto.

Curiously, George Soros’ hedge fund has just bought 897,813 shares (valued at $312.6 million) of Monsanto. His hand seems to be in anything that weakens individual freedom and destabilizes currencies and free governments, and makes him money in the process.

Governments at all levels have been busy telling us what we should eat and how our restaurants should prepare our food. Trans fats are bad and must be banned, as must vending machines that dispense candy bars and soda. There’s talk of putting federally funded salad bars in our public schools.

So much for the pursuit of happiness — we’re from the government and we have ways to make you healthy. It has often been a theme in my blog for this nearly first year about the dishonesty of this administration, the Orwellian Tactics, and the Alinsky maneuvers. How the dripping contempt for the ‘little people’ from the political Elite Class has boiled over and how the Ministry of Truth (The Mainstream Media) is both a partner, a sucker, and a toadie for it all.

How the Left like to define everything in their own terms and you aren’t allowed to disagree with them.

Leaving you and me, the average citizen, hung out to dry.

Now Thomas Sowell, a evil abomination that liberals don’t want to exist – a black Conservative- a great piece today.

‘We the people” are the central concern of the Constitution, as well as its opening words, since it is a Constitution for a self-governing nation. But “we the people” are treated as an obstacle to circumvent by the current administration.

One way of circumventing the people is to rush legislation through Congress so fast that no one knows what is buried in it. Did you know that the so-called health care reform bill contained a provision creating a tax on people who buy and sell gold coins?

You might debate whether that tax is a good or a bad idea. But the whole point of burying it in legislation about medical insurance is to make sure “we the people” don’t even know about it, much less have a chance to debate it, before it becomes law.

Did you know that the financial reform bill that’s been similarly rushed through Congress, too fast for anyone to read, has a provision about “inclusion” of women and minorities? Pretty words like “inclusion” mean ugly realities like quotas. But that too isn’t something “we the people” are to be allowed to debate, because it too was sneaked through.

Not since the Norman conquerors of England published their laws in French, for an English-speaking nation, centuries ago, has there been such contempt for the people’s right to know what laws were being imposed on them.

Yet another ploy is to pass laws worded in vague generalities, leaving it up to the federal bureaucracies to issue specific regulations based on those laws. “We the people” can’t vote on bureaucrats. And, since it takes time for all the bureaucratic rules to be formulated and then put into practice, we won’t know what either the rules or their effects are prior to this fall’s elections when we vote for (or against) those who passed these clever laws.

The biggest circumvention of “we the people” was of course the so-called “health care reform” bill. This bill was passed with the proviso that it would not really take effect until after the 2012 presidential elections. Between now and then, the Obama administration can tell us in glowing words how wonderful this bill is, what good things it will do for us, and how it has rescued us from the evil insurance companies, among its many other glories.

But we won’t really know what the actual effects of this bill are until after the next presidential elections — which is to say, after it is too late. Quite simply, we are being played for fools.

Much has been made of the fact that families making less than $250,000 a year will not see their taxes raised. Of course they won’t see it, because what they see could affect how they vote. But when huge tax increases are put on electric utility companies, the people will see electricity bills go up. When huge taxes are put on other businesses as well, they will see the prices of the things those businesses sell go up.

If you are not in that “rich” category, you will not see your own taxes go up. But you will be paying someone else’s higher taxes, unless of course you can do without electricity and other products of heavily taxed businesses. If you don’t see this, so much the better for the administration politically.

This country has been changed in a more profound way by corrupting its fundamental values. The Obama administration has begun bribing people with the promise of getting their medical care and other benefits paid for by other people, so long as those other people can be called “the rich.” Incidentally, most of those who are called “the rich” are nowhere close to being rich.

A couple making $125,000 a year each are not rich, even though together they reach that magic $250,000 income level. In most cases, they haven’t been making $125,000 a year all their working lives. Far more often, they have reached this level after decades of working their way up from lower incomes — and now the government steps in to grab the reward they have earned over the years.

There was a time when most Americans would have resented the suggestion that they wanted someone else to pay their bills. But now, envy and resentment have been cultivated to the point where even people who contribute nothing to society feel that they have a right to a “fair share” of what others have produced.

The most dangerous corruption is a corruption of a nation’s soul. That is what this administration is doing.

I would add in the socialist corruption of the Education process so that even if they can’t destroy you they can destroy the future and the little darling brains full of mush will never know because they will never tell them.

It starts in grade school where you just don’t mention certain things, events and concepts and moves on through college life. So that by the end of 16 years of “education” you’re effectively a mindless idiot willing do what the government says because “it’s fair” and “it’s sensitive”.

And you wouldn’t want to be “unfair” and “insensitive” now would you? 🙂

The darkest nightmare of the literature on power is George Orwell’s 1984, where there is not even an interior space of privacy and self. Winston Smith faces the ultimate and consistent logic of the argument that everything is political, and he can only dream of “a time when there were still privacy, love, and friendship, and when members of a family stood by one another without needing to know the reason.”(reason.com)

Let’s take that a step farther. The liberal left says that you are “insensitive” to muslims if you object to the mosque being built next to Ground Zero.

But you also “insensitive” to Latinos if you want the border secured. That’s “racial profiling”. You’re a “racist”.

But yet, if you’re a devout Christian who doesn’t believe in Gay marriage, because of your religion, You’re an insensitive, homophobic bigot!

So you’re insensitive to the Muslim religion if you object, but if you object based on your Christian religion you’re also insensitive.

And if you tell the proponents of the mosque that building it there is “insensitive” they will shoot back that you’re stereotyping all Muslims and that the Constitution protects there right to build it there.

So they can tell you you’re “insensitive” but you can’t tell THEM they are “insensitive” because they are your Insufferably Moral Superiors and you can’t even begin to judge them.

Orwell couldn’t do much better than that. You’re damned if you do, and damned if you don’t.

O’Brien’s re-education of Winston in 1984 went to the heart of such invasiveness. “We are not content with negative obedience…. When finally you surrender to us, it must be of your own free will.” The Party wanted not to destroy the heretic but to “capture his inner mind.” Where others were content to command “Thou shalt not” or “Thou shalt,” O’Brien explains, “Our command is ‘Thou art.'” To reach that end requires “learning… understanding [and] acceptance,” and the realization that one has no control even over one’s inner soul.

The school must become a therapeutic and political agent of progressive change. For your own good. But especially, before you figure out you’ve been had.

And the liberal media is there to reinforce it.

Look at how they frame the Ground Zero Mosque issue, for instance.

It’s all about Constitutional Right to worship as they please. The fact that this is a perversion of the First Amendment aside, it’s a clever little Alinsky tactic. Rule 4: Make opponents live up to their own book of rules. “You can kill them with this, for they can no more obey their own rules than the Christian church can live up to Christianity.”

So you wouldn’t want to go against The Constitution now would you? 🙂

The fact that that isn’t even the real issue isn’t even the point. It’s a tactic. They don’t care about the Constitutionality of it. They know that’s irrelevant.

But they also know they can off-put you by pushing it. Just like when they call you a “racist” when you object to illegal immigration.

And if that’s the only argument you hear, then that’s they only argument you know.

If the free speech and religious freedoms protected in First Amendment are suddenly so sacrosanct, why is it that Obama and his left-wing allies continuously push for a return of the fairness doctrine and for getting religion (except islam) out of schools and everywhere else??

And if the Constitution is so all important to Liberals all of the sudden why do they continuously push for gun bans (aka The Second Amendment)?

And where in the Constitution does a Health Care Mandate come from? And what other Mandates can they come up with if they think there is??

And then you get the counter. It’s not the Imam and the Mosque next to Ground Zero that is the problem, it’s YOU who object to it, you’re the problem.

Speaker Pelosi on a radio show: “There is no question there is a concerted effort to make this a political issue by some. And I join those who have called for looking into how is this opposition to the mosque being funded,” she said. “How is this being ginned up that here we are talking about Treasure Island, something we’ve been working on for decades, something of great interest to our community as we go forward to an election about the future of our country and two of the first three questions are about a zoning issue in New York City.”

Calls to investigate the funding for those proposing the $100 million “Cordoba House” have fallen on deaf ears, though, as New York’s Mayor Mike Bloomberg has described such an investigation as “un-American.”(Washington Times)

The only thing the majority of American opposed to this haven’t been called yet is…. RACIST! 🙂

And have you noticed, the proposed memorial to the victims of 9/11 hasn’t been finished 10 years later?

And a Greek Orthodox church crushed by the twin towers falling can’t get the zoning and building permits to rebuild?

And the final word today goes to former Obama Communication toadie Anita Dunn on MSDNC when challenged by Pat Buchanan on “tolerance”,“Anita, let me ask you about this word tolerance. I mean, what about tolerance for the views of the thousands of families of those who died on 9/11, the hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers who are saying, ‘Please, you have a right to move the mosque there but please don’t do it. It doesn’t belong there,’ and the vast majority of Americans who say the same thing?” Buchanan said.

“They have a right to build a mosque, but for heavens’ sakes given the fact that the terrorists were Islamic, it was crucial to their identity and their mission, please don’t put an Islamic mosque just two blocks from where this happened. What about tolerance for the vast majority of Americans and their opinions?” he said.

Dunn responded: “Well, you know, I have to ask, it’s two blocks … It’s a center that is supposed to be about promoting interfaith, and really reaching out, which in many ways is I think what President Bush back in those horrible days of 2001, really tried to promote.”

“And how many blocks is ok? Is nine blocks okay? Is 10? I don’t know where you go with this argument,” Dunn said.

“Morning Joe” co-host Mika Brzezinski ended the segment with a non-sequitur.

“And Anita, they have, like, other things that a lot of people have issues with, like peep shows. So, I mean, I think you bring up a really good point,” Brzezinski said.

The Hit-And-Run Moralists

Yesterday, I was at the Phoenix Convention Center with thousand of other geeks and nerds having a good time celebrating what we all love, and even if we don’t know anything about it (Anime and Cosplay) we could all just have a good time in the company of others.

A few miles away were the hit-and-run “moralists” who want to preach about how much they hate us.

And how much we are bad people.

Well, I’m glad I was in a place where actually love and passion were celebrated instead of where passions dark side was on full display.

Well, when it was time to leave and all the little busy bodies, safe in their sanctimony had left, I got back to my car that was parked on the street.

And lo and Behold, the little “moralists” had spammed my car with their double-sided pontifications of superior “morality”.

It’s two pages of  bile, so I understand if at some point you bail out. But if you read the whole thing you will get a better sense of the nonsense that is faced by the rational people of this country.

Their text has not been altered in anyway. The snarky commentary is mine.

Titled: “Why is 1070B racist & who is promoting this as positive”

Nice Title. Very calm, rational, and willing to listen to all sides. 😦

Line#1, Sentence #1: “Because it is fueled by hate and a desire to hurt people.”

Does any rational person need to even read anymore? I mean really? 😦

“The true motive is to keep hispanics from voting because most hispanics vote democratic and the number of hispanics is growing. They want you to think they’re afraid of the illegals but in reality they are afraid of the legal hispanics who can vote.”

That would be why the Democrats, and many Republicans, want to pander to you. But it’s not the reason.

Since the chance is extremely likely that they never read the Law and never intend to because it would ruin their “moral” sanctimony I’d call their preaching a lie, wouldn’t you?

The document is 28-years-old, but it raises a lot of questions about Republican Russell Pearce.

In a public document dated 1980 the state representative’s wife Luanne wants a divorce and goes on to claim Russell often beats her and shoves her. One incident in February details a clash at their former Mesa home where Luanne says Russell grabbed her by the throat and threw her down.

The sometimes controversial New Times weekly broke the story. They even posted the public document on their website. Since it is an election year we spoke to democrats who deny they had anything to do with the release of the document. Pearce’s republican opponent Kevin Gibbons did not answer calls.

Two paragraphs to go. As Dr. Smith on “Lost in Space” would say, “oh the the pain…”

And remember, early in this letter the write said of the supporters of SB 1070: “Just Like the KKK and the Aryan Brotherhood”. Even Hitler and Saddam thought they were doing GOD’s will. They talk more about hell than heaven and prey on people’s fears”.

And yet, the writer pulls out the God Card themselves.

Hmmmm….

Mireya Chavez Cerna, 43, an illegal immigrant who works as a maid, marched with her 9-year-old son, who was born in the United States and wore a shirt reading “Made in America.”

She denounced the climate of fear in the state and said immigrants like her could not abide the wait of a decade or more for a legal visa while their families grow hungry.

“Do you think we would risk losing our lives crossing the border if we didn’t have a need to come here for a better life?” she said. Supporters of the law “don’t know,” she added. “They don’t understand. They don’t live in Mexico. They don’t know how it is.”

So why don’t you stand up against that oppression?

Oh, right, they’ll just imprison you or kill you. Silly Me. 🙂

The Fight For 41

Today decides the nation.

Socialism or Not.

The election in Massachusetts will decide who gets the seat of the late Sen. Edward Kennedy.

The Republican wins, they have 41 seats. Enough to stop the Democrats by filibuster.

Which means the Democrats will Lie, Cheat, Steal, and say anything to preserve it.

Morality today, at least from the Democrats has the day off.

And if the Republican, Scott Brown, wins as previous noted the Democrats will try to cram Health Care down before he is sworn in by hook or by Crook.

Pelosi: “We will have healthcare — one way or another”

“Let’s remove all doubt, we will have healthcare one way or another,” Pelosi said during an event in San Francisco on Monday. “Certainly the dynamic would change depending on what happens in Massachusetts. Just the question about how we would proceed. But it doesn’t mean we won’t have a health care bill.”

There is one way to pass the bill, even without 60 votes in the Senate, that’s getting a lot of attention now. But Pelosi probably won’t like it, and neither will a fair amount of her members.

The procedure in question would involve simply having the House vote on the bill that the Senate has already passed. That would mean avoiding yet another cloture vote in the Senate, one Democrats would be likely to lose if their caucus is down to 59 members after the special election in Massachusetts on Tuesday.

House liberals will be upset about this idea, and progressive activists would likely be angry as well, but it may well be the only option left, and Democrats are reportedly leaning towards it. On Monday night, the New York Times reported: “The White House and Democratic Congressional leaders, scrambling for a backup plan to rescue their health care legislation if Republicans win the special election in Massachusetts on Tuesday, are preparing to ask House Democrats to approve the Senate version of the bill, which would send the measure directly to President Obama for his signature.”

Remember when this was alledgedly for the good of the American people?

Apparently, neither did they.

Democrats are mobilized by the prospect of conceding a Senate seat in a state where they control all 10 House seats. President Barack Obama stumped for Coakley in a trip to Boston Sunday. He also cut a new television ad, while his grassroots organizing group says it placed 93,000 (robo)calls across the state on Jan. 16 alone.

“In some ways, Republicans have already won,” said Jennifer Duffy, the Senate analyst for the nonpartisan Cook Political Report in Washington. “Nobody ever imagined a special election in Massachusetts for Ted Kennedy’s seat would ever get remotely competitive.”

Research “strongly suggests” that Brown, 50, will defeat Coakley, 56, the Washington-based nonpartisan Rothenberg Political Report said. That outcome or even a narrow Coakley win could discourage House or Senate Democrats in competitive districts and states from running in this November’s elections amid a sagging economy and declining poll numbers for Obama.(salon.com)

Democrats could try a strong-arm tactic, such as rushing to hold a final Senate vote before Brown is sworn in, knowing it would ignite a ferocious public outcry.

If Brown wins, health care’s fate will turn on the Democrats’ answer to a wrenching question: Which is worse, enduring such a firestorm of criticism at the start of an election year, or admitting defeat on their top agenda item despite controlling the House, Senate and White House?

“I think Democrats fully understand they have to pass this legislation,” said Ron Pollack, head of the Families USA advocacy group. “The alternative is an absolute disaster.”

“Put the corn where the hogs can get it,” (Former President Bill Clinton on “educating the public to the benefits of the Congress’ plan) Clinton said, using a colorful phrase for making something clear and accessible, according to an aide who took notes at the speech. (Washington Post)

If he wins, and I pray he does, the Democrats might actually discover who the American People are again.

And won’t that be a shock to their little minds.

Obama warned that much of his agenda in Congress, specifically his health-care overhaul and proposed fee on big banks, hinges on retaining Kennedy’s former seat.

“We’ve begun to deliver on the change you voted for,” Obama told a crowd of about 1,500 people Jan. 17 at Northeastern University in Boston.

This would be massive spending, pork & bribes, special deals for apparatchiks, no emphasis on job creation, and a year-long super-duper hyper-partisan fight over control of who lives and who dies that has been nastier than any fight since The Civil War.

The Government Mandating by law you must have insurance or potentially go to Jail.

And the massive taxes to come with it.

Yeah, that’s what people voted for. 😦

So let’s all pray for the Brown Miracle.

We Need “Hope & Change!”

Regeneration

Today, I’m going to do something different. I’m tired.

So I’m talking to today about the best, most hopeful thing in my life.

And right now hope is what is needed.

One of the things I am most thankful for. There are many. This is but one.

There’s this little program that not as many Americans have heard of, but virtually every Britons has.

That is “Doctor Who”  (www.bbc.co.uk/doctor who)

1963-1989,1996,2005-Present

The longest running Science Fiction show in history.

It began on November 23, 1963. It ran on the BBC until Dec 1989. 26 years.

Then it was off.

But the fans never gave up.

The show flourished in “The Wilderness Years” as many fans call it. The fans took over the process of the fiction.

There was a TV movie that was all but ignored Fox in 1996.

The something remarkable happened.

The show regenerated in 2005.

Run by fans who were now the leaders of this pack.

It is now arguably the #1 drama in the UK.

It never really died.

It regenerated.

This was a genius master stroke by the producers back in 1966. The lead actor William Hartnell was leaving. They needed a way to continue the show.

The Doctor (of the title, he is not “Doctor Who”) is an alien from the planet Gallifrey.

He travels all of time and space.

And he can regenerate.

When the need arises he can completely transform himself.

Thus, another actor comes in and takes over and the program continues.

There have been 10 Doctors so far. The Tenth Doctor is bowing out of the programme on Jan 1st, 2010.

The Eleventh Doctor will take his place in the Spring.

The 31st Season in 47 years begins a new.

New Hope.

New anticipation.

New adventures.

The Doctor is moral, upstanding, a defender of the people.

We need a Doctor.

We need a regeneration.

A Regeneration of the American Spirit.

The spirit that says you cannot take my freedoms away so easily and with so much contempt.

Or we have The Master, the Doctor’s opposite.

They went to school together on Gallifrey.

But The Master is a sociopathic nightmare who just wants to rule everything and everybody.

Self-Aggrandizement is the name of the game.

Power for power sake.

The grand plan to rule everything.

Sound familiar? 🙂

But he’s stopped every time by the Doctor. Most times with a cost.

It maybe a simple morality play.

Hero. Villain.

It may be old-fashioned.

But isn’t simple morality something we need these days.

With the The New Louisiana Purchase, The Cornhusker Kickback, The Florida Right off, The Connecticut University Deal.

The Stimulus money that goes to fake Congressional Districts.

Record Snowfalls in “Global Warming”

The complete lack of respect from leadership for the people.

The complete lack of civility.

The total and complete partisanship divide.

Wouldn’t a good old fashioned, simple dose of morality be such a breath of fresh air.

It would be the Regeneration that was promised but never intended to be delivered by the last election.

The real HOPE and CHANGE.

Now we look forward to 2010.

The Health Care Final Death Star Battle.

Cap & Trade.

Amnesty.

And more and more Debt as the Democrats go from Bribing themselves with your money, to bribing you with your own money.

Just so they can maintain their power for power sake.

Stand fast.

Believe in the real American ideals.

The Politically Incorrect ones.

And even if we fall, we can regenerate.

Believe in the American Spirit.

Doctor Who got me personally through the worst times in my life.

Or as they said in Galaxy Quest, “Never Give Up. Never Surrender”.

It’s not the easy path.

But it is right path.
