Fear is Hope 2014

On the one hand, California U.S. Rep. Nancy Pelosi claims that Democrats are not “fear-mongers;” on the other hand, she believes civilization is doomed if Republicans take control of the Senate from Democrats in November.

It’s time to go Bat Crazy with Nancy. Same Bat Time (elections). Same Bat Channel (Vote for a Democrats because Republicans are evil assholes!).

The former speaker of the House made those dramatic, incongruous statements on “Real Time with Bill Maher,” which aired live from Washington, D.C. Friday.

Maher asked Pelosi about recent polling which shows that the GOP is likely to take over the upper chamber and asked, given gridlock in Washingon, why it matters that Democrats keep control.

“It would be very important for the Democrats to retain control of the Senate,” Pelosi told Maher. “Civilization as we know it today would be in jeopardy if the Republicans win the Senate.”

Democrats currently hold 53 seats in the Senate. Republicans have 45. Two independents caucus with Democrats.

Maher asked about voter turnout for Democrats, which he asserted was too low to carry the party in the mid-term.

“Nobody comes about to vote to say ‘thank you,’” Maher said. “The people who get health care now — they’re the people least likely to vote. The people who come out to vote are the angry people.”

“That’s true,” said Pelosi. “Fear is a motivator, and we are not fear-mongers. The Democrats are messengers of hope, and that’s what we will continue to be.”

On the one hand, as the president made clear, we’ll be involved in sustained airstrikes against ISIL targets in Iraq, and to the extent necessary, in Syria. We’ll also be building up the capacity of partners on the ground — Iraqi security forces, our Kurdish partners and, also, with the support of Congress, we hope the moderate Syrian opposition.

So we will combine that with a political strategy in support of inclusive and representative governance in Iraq. We will also support the Sunni elements inside of Iraq to take the fight to ISIL, since they are the ones most directly affected by the ISIL terrorism.

And so this will be a political, diplomatic, as well as military strategy. It will involve partners in a broad coalition from the countries in the region who met today in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia with Secretary Kerry and pledged to support this effort, to partners in Europe and Australia and others in the West. It will be a broad coalition to deal with the threat that ISIL poses.

BLITZER: It sounds like a war to me.

Is it fair to call it a war?

RICE: Well, Wolf, I don’t know whether you want to call it a war or a sustained counterterrorism campaign or — I think, frankly, this is a counterterrorism operation that will take time. It will be sustained. We will not have American combat forces on the ground fighting, as we did in Iraq and Afghanistan, which is what I think the American people think of when they think of a war.

So I think this is very different from that. But nonetheless, we’ll be dealing with a significant threat to the region, to American personnel in the region and, potentially, also to Europe and the United States. And we’ll be doing it with partners. We will not be fighting ourselves on the ground, but we will be using American air power, as we have been over the last several weeks, as necessary. (RP)

“The United States stands shoulder to shoulder tonight with our close friend and ally in grief and resolve,” Obama said.

“We will work with the United Kingdom and a broad coalition of nations from the region and around the world to bring the perpetrators of this outrageous act to justice, and to degrade and destroy this threat to the people of our countries, the region and the world,” he said.

It’s a Liberal Thing

WAR IS PEACE

FREEDOM IS SLAVERY

IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH

And my own…FEAR IS HOPE!

More of the same:

On a special broadcast of MSNBC’s “Hardball” on Saturday, weekend morning host Melissa Harris-Perry expressed her displeasure with the selection of Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan as Mitt Romney’s running mate.

In particular, Harris-Perry took issue with Ryan quoting Thomas Jefferson’s line in the Declaration of Independence, in which he declared rights come from God and nature and not from government.

“The thing I really have against him is actually how he and Gov. Romney have misused the Declaration of Independence,” she said. “I’m deeply irritated by their notion that the ‘pursuit of happiness’ means money for the richest and that we extricate the capacity of ordinary people to pursue happiness. When they say ‘God and nature give us our rights, not government,’ that is a lovely thing to say as a wealthy white man.”

“But we could not have them until there was a Civil War that allowed the federal government to impose those nature and God-given rights would actually be respected by our government. And I think that they cannot continue to go down this line on the Declaration of Independence.”

Should we mention the Wealthy White Slave owners in the South and the Freed Slaves in the North?
Probably not. She’d probably think we we were making it up.
Racism, it’s a Liberal Thing! 🙂
“There’s only one president that I know of in history that robbed Medicare, $716 billion to pay for a new risky program of his own that we call Obamacare,” Romney told Schieffer. “What Paul Ryan and I have talked about is saving Medicare, is providing people greater choice in Medicare, making sure it’s there for current seniors. No changes, by the way, for current seniors, or those nearing retirement. But looking for young people down the road and saying, ‘We’re going to give you a bigger choice.’ In America, the nature of this country has been giving people more freedom, more choices. That’s how we make Medicare work down the road.”

According to HotAir.com, the following remark by Ryan was cut and did not air but is crucial in explaining to viewers, especially Florida seniors, that his plan does not affect senior citizens and that his own mother is a Medicare senior.

“My mom is a Medicare senior in Florida,” Ryan said. “Our point is we need to preserve their benefits, because government made promises to them that they’ve organized their retirements around. In order to make sure we can do that, you must reform it for those of us who are younger. And we think these reforms are good reforms that have bipartisan origins. They started from the Clinton commission in the late ’90s.”

HotAir.com called the broadcast cut “journalistic malpractice.”

“Ryan’s plan doesn’t affect those already eligible for Medicare,” Ed Morrissey of HotAir.com wrote. “In fact, one of the conservative criticisms of the plan was that he didn’t give current Medicare recipients the option to choose a private-insurance plan, as younger Americans will get once they become eligible. That’s a pretty newsworthy detail, no?”

The Ryan budget proposes the partial privatization of Medicare by turning it into a premium-support system within a federal exchange, where insurance companies compete for business while meeting coverage requirements. That’s really no different than Medicare Advantage, which puts market power into cost control and gets the government out of paying providers over a period of several years. It’s not a perfect solution, as it maintains the third-party-payer system that interferes with pricing signals, which is the main problem driving the cost spiral. However, it’s as close as we can get to a good political solution, since there is absolutely no support for dismantling Medicare entirely, and it at least lessens the problems of price-signal opacity.

This demonstrates the advantage that Romney gets in picking Ryan as his running mate. Democrats would have hung the Ryan plan around his neck anyway. Now Ryan himself gets to answer those attacks on the biggest stage, and the more people hear what Ryan actually proposes, the more apt they are to like it.

Update: The CBS broadcast transcript shows pretty clearly that none of this actually aired on 60 Minutes. (Hot air and Newsmax)

Journalistic “editing” it’s a Liberal Thing. 🙂
Medicare Advantage was scheduled to be destroyed by ObamaCare because the liberals didn’t like it’s cost containment success and beside they had some crony capitalism to dole out, TO AARP!!
It’s called Medi-Gap. It costs most and is less efficient, but politically, it’s a winner!
Now that’s definitely a Liberal thing.
And then there’s the debates:

Apparently, ABC News’s Brian Ross was busy, so the ABC moderator chosen for the vice presidential debate in Danville, Ky., on Oct. 11 of this year will be the network’s Chief Foreign Correspondent, Martha Raddatz.

Matt Drudge has the rest of the debate lineup: Jim Lehrer, of PBS, will ask the questions at the first presidential debate, which is Oct. 3 in Denver. Next comes CNN’s Candy Crowley, who will pick questioners at a town hall-style event in Hempstead, N.Y. on Oct. 16. Bringing up the rear will be veteran CBS reporter Bob Schieffer, who will host the final debate in Boca Raton, Fla., on Oct. 22, Boca Raton.

All moderated by Liberal Journalist who will be in gotcha mode looking for to destroy their evil opponents. Journalism will not be anywhere in sight.

The fix is in. “objectivity” is nigh.

So the side will be loaded and very heavily biased in the Liberals favor so it’s “fair”.

That’s a very liberal thing.

To believe that Ryan’s budget will somehow hurt the ticket is to buy deeply into the notion that U.S. Hispanics are pre-ordained to live as helpless wards of the State, unable to function without the benevolent guidance and assistance that can only come from the enlightened experts of our government Überklasse.

The fact is that Hispanics are just as exposed to debt and deficits as anyone else, and have as much of a stake in the coming debate over debt and deficits, if not more so. For Hispanics (as well as other immigrants), this election presents a stark choice between a return to the promise of the America they emigrated to, or a continued march down the road to an America that more closely resembles the country they intended to leave behind. (Hot air)

But guilt, fear and self-editing is a very Liberal thing. And they want you to practice it every moment of your life.

You can’t possibly succeed in life without them.

Oh, and anyone who opposes them is an extremist!

Congressman Paul Ryan is the poster boy for the extreme Republican leadership in a Congress whose overall approval rating is 12 percent. His plan to dismantle Medicare is deeply unpopular with the general public, and especially undecided voters.

You might be wondering why the hell Romney picked this guy. But this is a strategic pick that carries real danger for us.

Here’s the calculation: Mitt Romney doesn’t need or expect Paul Ryan to convince even one undecided voter to cast their ballot for him. That’s not what he’s on the ticket for. He’s there to reassure and inspire ultraconservative ideologues and corporate interests that they will have one of their own a heartbeat from the presidency.

That means tens or even hundreds of millions more dollars for the Romney campaign and the array of outside groups supporting him — and if current trends hold, more than 90 percent of that money will be spent on TV ads — lying, distorting and trashing Barack Obama. Those ads will have more impact on undecided voters than anything Paul Ryan himself does or says.

So, why the hell did Romney choose Paul Ryan as his running mate? Because Ryan has a plan, he has a vision and he’s working. (Katie Pavlich)

The Vain Hope of Change

“Reality exists in the human mind, and nowhere else. Not in the individual mind, which can make mistakes, and in any case soon perishes: only in the mind of the Party, which is collective and immortal.”
― George Orwell, 1984

Thomas Sowell: It bothers me a little when conservatives call Barack Obama a “socialist.” He certainly is an enemy of the free market, and wants politicians and bureaucrats to make the fundamental decisions about the economy. But that does not mean that he wants government ownership of the means of production, which has long been a standard definition of socialism.

What President Obama has been pushing for, and moving toward, is more insidious: government control of the economy, while leaving ownership in private hands. That way, politicians get to call the shots, but, when their bright ideas lead to disaster, they can always blame those who own businesses in the private sector.

Politically, it is heads-I-win when things go right, and tails-you-lose when things go wrong. This is far preferable, from Obama’s point of view, since it gives him a variety of scapegoats for all his failed policies, so that he no longer has to use President Bush as a scapegoat all the time.

But he still has him to use as the catch-all for everything anyhow. And it, after all, all about HIM. You little people only matter if you are going to a) give him money or b) vote for him regardless of anything he says or does.

Government ownership of the means of production means that politicians also own the consequences of their policies, and have to face responsibility when those consequences are disastrous — something that Barack Obama avoids like the plague.

Thus the Obama administration can arbitrarily force insurance companies to cover the children of their customers until the children are 26 years old. Obviously, this creates favorable publicity for President Obama. But if this and other government edicts cause insurance premiums to rise, then that is something that can be blamed on the “greed” of the insurance companies.

And his surrogates in the Liberal Media also writes do pieces to back him up.

The same principle, or lack of principle, applies to many other privately owned businesses. It is a very successful political ploy that can be adapted to all sorts of situations.

One of the reasons why both pro-Obama and anti-Obama observers may be reluctant to see him as fascist is that both tend to accept the prevailing notion that fascism is on the political right, while it is obvious that Obama is on the political left.

And thus they also ignore his very Orwellian moves, words, and actions.

Doublethink: The power of holding two contradictory beliefs in one’s mind simultaneously, and accepting both of them… To tell deliberate lies while genuinely believing in them, to forget any fact that has become inconvenient, and then, when it becomes necessary again, to draw it back from oblivion for just as long as it is needed, to deny the existence of objective reality and all the while to take account of the reality which one denies – all this is indispensably necessary. Even in using the word doublethink it is necessary to exercise doublethink. For by using the word one admits that one is tampering with reality; by a fresh act of doublethink one erases this knowledge; and so on indefinitely, with the lie always one leap ahead of the truth.

To know and not to know, to be conscious of complete truthfulness while telling carefully constructed lies, to hold simultaneously two opinions which cancelled out, knowing them to be contradictory and believing in both of them, to use logic against logic, to repudiate morality while laying claim to it, to believe that democracy was impossible and that the Party was the guardian of democracy, to forget, whatever it was necessary to forget, then to draw it back into memory again at the moment when it was needed, and then promptly to forget it again, and above all, to apply the same process to the process itself – that was the ultimate subtlety; consciously to induce unconsciousness, and then, once again, to become unconscious of the act of hypnosis you had just performed. Even to understand the word ‘doublethink’ involved the use of doublethink.

-George Orwell

Back in the 1920s, however, when fascism was a new political development, it was widely — and correctly — regarded as being on the political left. Jonah Goldberg’s great book Liberal Fascism cites overwhelming evidence of the fascists’ consistent pursuit of the goals of the Left, and of the Left’s embrace of the fascists during the 1920s.

Mussolini, the originator of fascism, was lionized by the Left, both in Europe and in America, during the 1920s. Even Hitler, who adopted fascist ideas in the 1920s, was seen by some, including W. E. B. Du Bois, as a man of the Left.

It was in the 1930s, when ugly internal and international actions by Hitler and Mussolini repelled the world, that the Left distanced itself from fascism and its Nazi offshoot — and verbally transferred these totalitarian dictatorships to the Right, saddling their opponents with these pariahs.

What socialism, fascism, and other ideologies of the Left have in common is an assumption that some very wise people — like themselves — need to take decisions out of the hands of lesser people, i.e., the rest of us, and impose those decisions by government fiat.

Like the immigration fiat just handed down and high handed and high minded way they think of themselves for doing it.

‘This is Not Amnesty’: Pres. Obama Defends New Immigration Policy in White House Speech

Yes, it is. It’s nothing but, but he has to play his games with words and let his minions pound you with them and your “racism” because you disagree with The First Black President!

President Barack Obama says his plan to stop deporting younger illegal immigrants who came to the U.S. as children will make the system ‘more fair, more efficient and more just.’ (The Blaze)

The vision of those of the Left is not only a vision of the world, but also a vision of themselves as superior beings pursuing superior ends. In the United States, however, this vision conflicts with a Constitution that begins, “We, the People . . . ”

That is why the Left has for more than a century been trying to get the Constitution’s limitations on government loosened or evaded by judges’ new interpretations, based on notions of “a living Constitution” that will take decisions out of the hands of “We, the People,” and transfer those decisions to our betters.

The self-flattery of the vision of the Left also gives its true believers a huge ego stake in that vision, which means that mere facts are unlikely to make them reconsider — regardless of what evidence piles up against the vision of the Left, and regardless of its disastrous consequences.

Only our own awareness of the huge stakes involved can save us from the rampaging presumptions of our betters, whether they are called socialists or fascists. So long as we buy their heady rhetoric, we are selling our birthright of freedom. (NRO)

AMEN.

The U.S. has never before had a President who thinks so little of the American people that he imagines he can win re-election running on the opposite of reality. But that is the reality of President Obama today.

Waving a planted press commentary, Obama recently claimed on the campaign stump, “federal spending since I took office has risen at the slowest pace of any President in almost 60 years.”

Peggy Noonan: “There is, now, a house-of-cards feel about this administration. It became apparent some weeks ago when the President talked on the stump – where else? – about an essay by a fellow who said spending growth [under Obama] is actually lower than that of previous Presidents. This was startling to a lot of people, who looked into it and found the man had left out most spending from 2009, the first year of Mr. Obama’s Presidency. People sneered: The President was deliberately using a misleading argument to paint a false picture! But you know, why would he go out there waiving an article that could immediately be debunked? Maybe because he thought it was true. That’s more alarming, isn’t it, the idea that he knows so little about the effects of his own economic program that he thinks he really is a low spender.”

Or more like someone who is so Orwellian that he wants you to believe a complete falsehood as the truth. And many liberals do buy into it because this an ideological falsehood not a factual falsehood. As Mr. Sowell pointed out and I have pointed out on many occasions Liberals do not response favorable to ACTUAL facts.

What this shows most importantly is that the recognition is starting to break through to the general public regarding the President’s rhetorical strategy that I’ve have been calling Calculated Deception. The latter is deliberately using a misleading argument to paint a false picture. That has been a central Obama practice not only throughout his entire presidency, but also as the foundation of his 2008 campaign strategy, and actually throughout his whole career.

Rest assured, Ms. Noonan, that the President is not as nuts as he may seem at times. He knows very well that he is not a careful spender. His whole mission is to transform the U.S. not into a Big Government country, but a Huge Government country, because only a country run by a Huge Government can be satisfactorily controlled by superior, all wise and beneficent individuals like himself.

The analysis by Internet commentator Rex Nutting on which Obama based his claim begins by telling us “What people forget (or never knew) is that the first year of every presidential term starts with a budget approved by the previous administration and Congress.” Not exactly.

The previous administration, or President, proposes a budget. The previous Congress approves a budget. And what Congress approves can be radically different from what the President proposes. (Forbes)

The Democrat controlled Congress passed the budget in 2008 for 2009 and has refused to pass another budget since 2009. The Republicans pass one and the Democrats ignore it, or demonize it or both.

That’s is called “obstructionist” by the Liberals. Because you are obstructing their attempts to take over every facet of your life! And that’s the Republican’s Fault! The Teap Party’s Fault! ,The “rich”!, “The right wing”,”Greedy” Corporate America’s Fault!

The President has put a budget for the last two years that was mere showpiece and it has been shot down twice in a row with zero votes for it because it wasn’t a serious proposal and was never designed to be one. But you have to keep up the facade of it’s the Republicans fault for not passing the President’s budget that is the problem, not that the Democrats not passing the Republican’s (or even negotiating) is the problem.

It’s all in how they want you to look at it.

Reality is just a game. A political game. A game to be played to win.

“Reality exists in the human mind, and nowhere else. Not in the individual mind, which can make mistakes, and in any case soon perishes: only in the mind of the Party, which is collective and immortal.”

Hope That Changed

If any day should make you want less government and less spending this should be the day.

Unless, you’re a Liberal that is.

MR “HOPE & CHANGE”. The “UNITER” The President for all America, not just RED or Blue.
Mr,. Post-Partisan. Post-Racial. Mr. “fair”.
Mark Steyn: In the end, free societies get the governments they deserve. So, if the American people wish to choose their chief executive on the basis of the “war on women,” the Republican theocrats’ confiscation of your contraceptives or whatever other mangy and emaciated rabbit the Great Magician produces from his threadbare topper, they are free to do so, and they will live with the consequences.
Look what “Hope and Change” brought us… 😦
According to the Congressional Budget Office (the same nonpartisan bean-counters who project that on Obama’s current spending proposals the entire U.S. economy will cease to exist in 2027) Obama’s Buffett Rule will raise — stand well back — $3.2 billion per year. Or what the United States government currently borrows every 17 hours. So in 514 years it will have raised enough additional revenue to pay off the 2011 federal budget deficit. If you want to mark it on your calendar, 514 years is the year 2526. There’s a sporting chance Joe Biden will have retired from public life by then, but other than that I’m not making any bets.At the current pace of spending government will have spent by then – $65,528,575,000,000,000.00

Anyone for more taxes and spending? 🙂

What the president meant to say was: “It will help us close our deficit … for 2011 … within a mere half-millennium!” (Pause for deafening cheers and standing ovation.)

The current federal debt burden works out at about $140,000 per federal taxpayer, and President Obama is proposing to increase both debt and taxes.

Are you one of those taxpayers? How much more do you want added to your $140,000 debt burden? As the Great Magician would say, pick a number, any number. Sorry, you’re wrong. Whatever you’re willing to bear, he’s got more lined up for you.

Your share of federal deficit grows by $50 per day.

The Obama No-Plan plan means the end of everything. That really ought to be the only slogan the Republicans need this fall:

What’s your plan? And all you hear are crickets chirping.

But don’t worry, they’re federally funded crickets, chirping at a research facility in North Carolina investigating whether there’s any correlation between chirping crickets and the inability of America’s political institutions to effect meaningful course correction.

Hey, relax. The Buffett Rule will pick up the tab.

And your kids and grandkids and descendents ad infinitum, well, they are just a wealth waiting to be taxed to death for their own good and for the almighty “fairness”.

Andrew Malcolm: Has anyone seen Barack Obama recently?

You know, the optimistic hopeful fellow with the charming smile who promised so many positive things four and five years ago, how he was going to change the harsh, partisan tone of our nation’s capital and bring the country together as its first African American president.

Even allowing for political hyperbole, his empty resume and the invisible witnesses from the past, Obama was such a Real Good Talker that even some who didn’t vote for him still had hope that he could change some things for the better in what seemed a sadly-splintered society.

WTH did that Obama go? Have you listened recently to this Chicago Doppelganger who’s replaced him? This 2012 Obama is strident and mean, even deceitful, divisive, telling half-truths after half-truths. He’s using Air Force One as his personal Brinks truck with wings to collect cash all over the country, disguising the trips as official.

He tries to intimidate the Supreme Court, an equal branch of government, when its thinking might stray from his. He distorts history, and if no one calls him, then it’s true. If he’s caught, this Obama says you obviously mis-heard. Because, as everyone knows, he could never mis-speak.

The economy, like everything else adverse, is someone else’s fault. But if only we borrowed and spent a trillion dollars, unemployment would stay beneath 8%, Obama promised. It soared far above. It’s still above. No apology. No acknowledgment. Now, he hails any dip as proof of progress when, in fact, it comes because so many just give up seeking work.

He chastises House Republicans for their draconian budget when his Senate Democrats haven’t written a single one in three years; so, the fiscal drift abides. And wait till he exaggerates the frightening things the GOP wants to do, instead of presenting his own ideas.

Obama claims credit for the bottom half of a pipeline he had nothing to do with, when he killed the top half. He brags that domestic oil drilling is up when the part he’s responsible for is down.

He says no one should ever go to Las Vegas on the taxpayer’s dime. Then his wife, daughters and entourage do just that.

This year’s Obama talks of the importance of windmills, algae and green energy, but he takes a 17-SUV motorcade to a photo op with an electric car. He lambasts oil companies for getting the same legal tax incentives (he calls them “subsidies”) that other companies receive, hoping to aim anger at them so voters won’t notice that gas prices have doubled since his inauguration with Honest Abe’s Bible.

Take this Tuesday. The 2012 Obama flew to Florida for an official presidential speech on the economy, then three fundraisers. That way his campaign only pays a fraction of Air Force One’s $182,000 per flight hour cost. All presidents do that, though none have done near as many.

But read the four speeches. You can’t tell which is official and which is political. They’re all political. He can’t be a real president for one lousy speech? Why the phony presidential fig leaf? To chintz the United States of America out of a few thousand bucks when he plans to raise a billion?

The Buffet Rule? Americans have always admired the successful. The only thing wrong with rich people is we’re not one of them — yet. But now he’s pitting most of us against rich folks, which is him, come to think of it. The only way he’s bringing us together now is to resent their paying a smaller legal rate because theirs is a different kind of income.

And speaking of taxes, whch are due Tuesday, how can the president of the United States allow 36 of his own White House aides to fall $833,000 behind in their tax payments?

How is that what the first Obama offered, making him an example of American success? (Hint: His GOP opponent is far richer than Obama and earned it the old-fashioned way through work, not fronting books.)

OK, Obama wants political skirmishes all over on any petty thing so people won’t notice the absence of any conceivably positive record to run on. Risky when Americans start paying attention. But if that’s his only card. It’s all the Republicans’ fault, of course. That’s the candidate in him, the one that prefers performing for adoring crowds instead of performing Oval Office duties.

But whatever happened to the president part? The leader. The principled man who through his personal story, skills and charm was going to inspire, convince, cajole Americans as diverse as himself to work together for a common national success? That official part has merged with the political, like the four Florida speeches. Now, he’s just trying to fool everybody about everything.

In a way, this could be good news for Republicans. The duplicate Ernst Blofeld makes Mitt Romney look like Mr. Rogers.

But without real presidential leadership, Obama’s hand-picked harpie atop the Democratic National Committee feels empowered to assign a hired gun to dismiss his opponent’s wife, the cancer-surviving mother of five sons, as someone who’s never worked a day in her life. Are they that scared already?

Seriously? We’re going to pit now one kind of working woman against another? The guy who talks about having so many women in his life isn’t going to fire the women responsible for that? He thinks American women will buy this stuff?

OK, Obama was raised by grandparents because he didn’t always have a stay-at-home mom or dad. But this is a nation, not a dysfunctional family or a windy city party where factions are left to their own wards and Solyndras.

Obama is the guy who said his own wife was off limits politically, the guy whose mother-in-law has resided since Day One in the White House at taxpayer expense as a live-in nanny so the first lady can campaign for money and healthy foods? But a woman who stays at home with her kids at no public expense can be trashed because of her party?

We were never exactly fond of the Original Obama. But we’d take him any day over the twilight character that inhabits the Oval Office now.

But some how this will probably be “racist” and re-edited by NBC… 🙂

Like It Never Even Happened!

“If we pretend it didn’t happen, it will all just go away.” Welcome to the time machine mentality of Washington one year after the 2010 election thumping.

One year ago today, voters sent House Democrats a stunning rejection message by ousting Democrats from 66 seats, ushering in a new Republican majority in the House of Representatives.

Ending the careers of many entrenched Democrat members, voters sent Republican small business owners, physicians, farmers and veterans to make up the now 89-member freshman class in the House of Representatives. Not since 1938 have Republicans been elected to the House majority with such force.

While Democrats still own Washington, they now must reckon with a Republican House that cuts spending, fights job-destroying regulations and tax hikes and holds the Obama administration accountable for scandals such as Solyndra and Fast and Furious.

But today’s Democrats are living like November 2, 2010 didn’t happen. Following their 2010 election repudiation, House Democrats promptly re-elected Nancy Pelosi as their leader — despite her starring role as speaker in losing the Democrats’ House majority.

Since then, House Democrats have systematically doubled-down on the same failed policies that voters rejected last election.

And, after all, we know that it’s the Republicans who are “obstructionist” and are proposing nothing new. All of which isn’t strictly true, but the Democrat rely almost exclusively these days on the old adage of “If you tell a lie often enough it become the truth” or at least you get the idiots to believe it and that’s all we want.

And the wimpy Republicans let them get away it too.

House Democrats stand up for the deeply unpopular Obamacare law, voting against House Republican attempts to repeal it. They push for more government as House Republicans wage war against job-destroying regulations and tax increases that discourage economic recovery. And they cheer wildly in Washington at President Obama’s Stimulus 2.0 plan that mimics the same 2009 stimulus that failed to keep unemployment under 8 percent as promised or keep the economy from turning worse.

All, of which, is George Bush’s Fault. So what if it’s been over 900 days since the Senate has passed a Budget. So what if a dozen Republican bills are rotting in Harry Reid’s Desk. So what if unemployment has been OVER 8% since February 2009. All that matters is that the idiots believe it’s all the Republicans Fault and to blame “the rich”.

The expected lower growth prompted the Fed to raise its predictions for the unemployment rate -– to a stubbornly high 8.6 percent by the end of the year, up from a projection of 7.8 percent five months ago. Central bankers now predict that the jobless rate will remain above 7 percent through 2014.(NBC)

Nearly 15% of the U.S. population relied on food stamps in August, as the number of recipients hit 45.8 million.

Food stamp rolls have risen 8.1% in the past year, the Department of Agriculture reported, though the pace of growth has slowed from the depths of the recession. (WSJ)

But that’s the Republican’s Fault! And “The Rich” and “the Banks” and capitalism!

Mind you, Obama has had nearly 3 years to do something about it, and it’s only gotten worse. But that’s not his fault!

And we have multiple 24/7 news channels and network news and newspapers to make sure you believe it.

Because if you don’t, you must be a part of the problem.

While Democrats have ignored the 2010 rebuke, the American people have not. With accountability from the top down, confidence in President Obama continues to plummet. Now 50 percent of Americans don’t think President Obama deserves re-election, according to an Associated Press poll released in October.

But the liberal media will continue the drumbeat of FEAR IF HOPE and Obama will continue to pander to the worst in you.

With Washington still reeking with unpopularity, voters are taking their anger out … on Democrats. In September, voters in Nevada and New York City special elections delivered more astounding rebukes to Democrat policies. In addition to winning by 22 percent in a competitive Nevada congressional district, Republicans handily won a Democrat New York City congressional district that the party hadn’t won since the 1920s.

The rejection message to Democrats continues. But don’t count on them listening. In 2012, Democrats are positioned to re-learn the election message of 2010. With President Obama at the top of the Democrat ticket, 2012 will be a referendum on Democrat policies on jobs and the economy.

Not if Obama and the Liberal Media has their way. The all-out propaganda blitz has barely begun.

The national unemployment rate was over 9 percent on Election Day 2010, and it’s still over 9 percent. And with all the trillion-dollar spending sprees, class-warfare policy plans and new federal regulations, the Obama administration predicts over 9 percent unemployment through 2012.

No wonder Americans believe Democrat policies have made a bad economy worse. According to a Washington Post/Kaiser/Harvard poll released in September, 81 percent of Americans believe President Obama’s economic program isn’t working and 85 percent believe they’re the same or worse off financially as they were when Obama became president.

But 50% still approve of him. How is that it possible? Doublethink. 🙂

Leaving behind “hope” and “change,” the 2012 election is also a choice about a basic national identity: the American dream. Will we protect the American dream both now and for future generations by electing Republicans to stand for sustainable jobs through free enterprise, entrepreneurship and individualism? Or will we continue handing power to Democrats in Washington to manage America’s demise with more government, more taxes and more regulations?

FEAR IS HOPE!

The American people know that elections have consequences. It’s time Washington Democrats understand that elections have consequences. That means 2010. And that means 2012. (DC)

They are ideologically incapable of understanding it.

BIG SIS UPDATE:

Starting today, the welcome screens on 1.2 million hotel television sets in Marriott, Hilton, Sheraton, Holiday Inn will show a short public service announcement from DHS. The 15-second spot encourages viewers to be vigilant and call law enforcement if they witness something suspicious during their travels.

“Can you be sure? If you see something, say something to authorities.”

But if it’s about Illegal Aliens, forget it, you’re just a racist!!
If it’s about Muslims, forgettabout it!

Border Issues, absolutely not!

Only “Domestic Terrorists” (aka republicans, conservatives, and tea party members) need apply.

Despite telling a House Judiciary Committee that she only learned of operation Fast and Furious in December last year when the controversy went public, Homeland Security chief Janet Napolitano actually helped launch the previous incarnation of the program, Project Gunrunner, at a White House press conference in March 2009.

“Napolitano, at one point likening the questioning to a cross-examination, said repeatedly she only learned of “Fast and Furious” after Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry was killed in December,” reported Fox News <a href="” target=”_blank”><http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2011/10/26/napolitano-cross-examined-over-fast-and-furious/?test=latestnews>. “She emphasized the operation, conceived and run by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, “was an ATF operation,” under the auspices of the Justice Department, not her department.”

So she threw Holder under the Bus!

However, not only was Napolitano aware of the ATF program to put guns into the hands of Mexican drug lords, she actually helped launch the previous incarnation of it, Project Gunrunner, at a White House press conference alongside Deputy Attorney General David Ogden in March 2009.

She was also a former US Attorney and Governor of Arizona before that.

But she has the Sgt Schultz Defense “I Know nothing” and you’re just a partisan hack if you don’t believe her 100% the first time.

Democrats and Liberals always tell the truth. Just ask them 🙂

Economics for Idiots

Vice President Joe Biden said yesterday on CNN that nobody can say “that the stimulus did not create jobs,” but he did not specify how many jobs he believes President Barack Obama’s stimulus created and how much each of those jobs cost.

According to the most recent report on the stimulus by the Congressional Budget Office, the law had created a maximum of 2 million jobs as the fourth quarter of 2011 at a cost of $412,500 per job.

It took them nearly 3 years to figure this out. I guess the government is great at creating jobs and predicting economics. 🙂

On CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday, host Candy Crowley asked Biden about the skepticism of those who point out “we did almost $1 trillion ins stimulus spending” and the administration said “unemployment won’t gove above 8 percent,” and yet we have not had the results the administration forecast. (Solyndra and Fisker included??)

“The problem was in the beginning, the economists said that in fact we wouldn’t go above 8 percent, because they didn’t know until this last quarter that the economy shrunk in the last term of the Bush administration almost 9 percent,” said Biden.

Yep, their bad economic forecasts and their even worse “solutions” are Bush’s fault, not the “economists” that said we had to pass the Stimulus or else (and that whole 8% thing that was pure guessing)

“Everybody thought it was more like 5.5 percent.

And you know what they say about assuming. It makes an ass out of u and me. But we get stuck with check for their guessing. But it’s still Bush’s fault for their guessing being wrong.

And so the point was, we were all operating off of what the blue chips were looking at, and the numbers were wrong. But the fact is, if we hadn’t had that stimulus, we would be in a position now where we would be in a double dip recession some time ago.”

Instead of the recession we’ve had for nearly 3 years now and the “double dip” we already have!! A Trillion dollars of waste and 3 years later!!

And now Obama wants ANOTHER Stimulus!! and if you don’t pass it you’re a just a “rich” loving mean old fart. So he’ll just pass parts of it by executive fiat instead!

If you don’t succeed (or fail spectacularly) fail, fail again!

It shows how well Government does when it inserts itself into the economic to “create” anything other than chaos and misery.

Taking the high-end number of 2 million jobs and dividing it by the $825 billion cost of the stimulus yields a cost of $412,500 per job. (mind you virtually all these jobs are government union employees).

So given that sterling example, it should only take another $2,475,000,000,000 for the other 6 million jobs lost since 2007 but most of these are private sector jobs in the hands of evil greedy corporations. 🙂 (who cares about the $15,000,000,000,000 debt, anti-business regulations and ObamaCare!)

Damn those rich people are going to have pay up Big! 🙂

And government is very good at “creating” jobs”.

At a million-dollar (no 1%ers there!) San Francisco fundraiser today, President Obama warned his recession-battered supporters that if he loses the 2012 election it could herald a new, painful era of self-reliance in America.

“The one thing that we absolutely know for sure is that if we don’t work even harder than we did in 2008, then we’re going to have a government that tells the American people, ‘you are on your own,’” Obama told a crowd of 200 donors over lunch at the W Hotel.

“If you get sick, you’re on your own. If you can’t afford college, you’re on your own. If you don’t like that some corporation is polluting your air or the air that your child breathes, then you’re on your own,” he said. “That’s not the America I believe in. It’s not the America you believe in.”

Hope and Change! 🙂

Yeah, government controlling everything is what you believe in. After all, government is infinitely better at running your life than you are.

You’re hopeless! So re-elect me or else you’re screwed! You’re incompetent!

“I guarantee it’s going to be a close election [in 2012] because the economy is not where it wants to be (Notice how impersonal that is phrased) and, even though I believe all the choices we’ve made have been the right ones, we’re still going through difficult circumstances,” the president said.

Doh!

Remember, Liberals are never wrong. Ever. And the economy is nowhere near where it wants (was the “it” government, free enterprise, or evil rich corporations??) to be and I and I alone can save you because your hopeless and if you don’t re-elect me the hungry capitalist raptors will eat you!!

Vote for me or Else!

NARCISSISM UPDATE

The State Department has bought more than $70,000 worth of books authored by President Obama, sending out copies as Christmas gratuities and stocking “key libraries” around the world with “Dreams from My Father” more than a decade after its release.

The U.S. Embassy in Egypt , for instance, spent $28,636 in August 2009 for copies of Mr. Obama’s best-selling 1995 memoir. Six weeks earlier, the embassy had placed another order for the same book for more than $9,000, federal purchasing records show.

That’s taxpayer money paying for book sales for Obama who will get a royalty for it as the author!

About the same time, halfway around the world, the U.S. Embassy in South Korea had the same idea and spent more than $6,000 for copies of “Dreams from My Father.”

One month later, the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta , Indonesia , spent more than $3,800 for hardcover copies of the Indonesian version of Mr. Obama ’s “The Audacity of Hope,” records show.

A review of the expenditures in a federal database did not reveal any examples of State Department purchases of books by former Presidents George W. Bush or Bill Clinton.

Michael Moore is an Academy Award Winning Millionaire who went from a low-pay local rag in Flint, Michigan to millionaire but he’s not “rich” (aka ” the 1%”) but when asked about it, he dodges it like any good politician asked a question you know they will never answer honestly.

The inquiry came from Twitter, where one user asked why Moore appeared so disgusted by capitalism despite benefiting greatly from capitalism. “I’m here talking against my own interests– what’s wrong with me?” he joked, but didn’t really answer the question, other than to claim that “for a documentary filmmaker, I do very well.” When Morgan pushed him to explain how “very well” did not translate to elite levels of wealth, he merely said he felt “blessed,” given his high school education level, and claimed that “they made a huge mistake, putting me on TV.”

Moore continued to bash the wealthy, distancing himself from “a system that is unfair to working people” and concluding of the people that funded his first film, “I hope they rue the day.” He did not give any numbers to explain how his lifestyle did not conform with theirs.

He’s capitalism in action. Problem is, he’s an anti-capitalism millionaire capitalist!

After all, he is suing for money from the producers of “Fahrenheit 911”. He claims he was cheated out of at least $2.7 million in profits from his hit documentary.

“discovered substantial irregularities in the accounting” that resulted in a “gross underpayment to [Moore],” the lawsuit says.

But he’s not a greedy capitalist millionaire!! 🙂

In the NBC appearance, Obama also professed to be paying little attention to the long series of fiery debates among Republican contenders vying for the chance to take him on in next year’s presidential election.

“I’m going to wait until everybody is voted off the island,” he quipped in a reference to the “Survivor” reality show.

“Once they narrow it down to one or two, I’ll start paying attention.”

Oh, the rapier wit…

Meanwhile, I have $38,500 per person fundraiser to attend riding on my Canadian Made Uber Bus passing out class warfare and fear, despair and hopelessness.

“We’ve made great progress,” Obama added, “but we’ve got so much more work to do. Obviously in Washington, the politics that I think people are hoping for is not what they’re getting. It’s still dysfunctional. It’s still perversely partisan.’’

The Democrat said that as if it was someone else’s fault.

But don’t worry, be happy. It could have been worse! 🙂

Under the Banner Day

Sidebar: U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, the chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, interrupted an interview with a reporter Saturday in Charleston to speak with two elementary-school age children that she quickly labeled “little Democrats.”

“We are leaving no stone unturned,” she said once she returned to the interview. (evil maniacal laughter in her head no doubt)

Yeah, that would be why they are illiterate but can grow up to “occupy wall street”. 🙂

Meanwhile, “middle class” Warrior Obama is soaking up $5,000 a plate dinner and $38,500 autographs.

It’s good to be the King.

Under the “Politics are just strange and Obama’s are stranger” category:

While plugging her new book, “Paula Deen’s Southern Cooking Bible,” the feisty TV chef took a pot shot at Michelle for gorging herself on greasy french fries, fatty hot chicken wings and sugary deep-fried Snickers bars!

“Michelle’s spitting mad,” a source told The ENQUIRER.

“She thinks Paula is trying to smear her and her family just as the 2012 presidential election race swings into gear.”

The trouble first began before Barack Obama was even elected president in 2008, when Michelle made a guest appearance on Deen’s popular “Paula’s Party” show and revealed that fried shrimp was her family’s favorite meal.

Then in an interview after filming the program, Paula quipped that Michelle would be serving high-fat, greasy and sugary foods in the White House if Obama won the election!

Now Paula is rehashing those attacks on Michelle in an attempt to plug her latest cookbook and offset Michelle’s new book about eating healthy, noted the source.

“She’s no different than the rest of us,” Paula said about Michelle in a new interview.

Paula added: “She probably ate more than any other guest I ever had on the show! She kept eating even during commercials. Know what (the Obamas’) favorite foods are? Hot wings. Y’know – those kinds of foods that aren’t necessarily top-of-the-list healthy foods.”

“Michelle now deeply regrets ever being on Paula’s show,” added the source. “There are a lot of digs she would have been able to brush off, but portraying her as a high-calorie gorger during her crusade for healthy eating is crossing the line.”(Enquirer)

The Empress has no clothes! An Obama with an over-developed since of their own sanctimony to the human race as a whole. Never… 🙂

Under “never saw this at a Tea Party rally” Because you didn’t:

Dallas Police continue to investigate whether a teenage runaway was sexually assaulted by an adult male at the Occupy Dallas encampment behind City Hall.

A source within the Dallas Police Department who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the ongoing investigation said the girl ran away from home in Garland last month and that she is now refusing to cooperate with investigators. She initially told officers that she had sex with a man in his early twenties and had engaged in sexual activity with several other people.

Some members of the group told CBS 11 the girl identified herself as a 19-year-old and never knew she was 14.

But don’t worry, to the Left and the Leftist media OWS and the Tea party are the same, except that Tea partiers are violent, angry white racists. (if you noticed the contradiction there look up Doublethink sometime-it’s a leftist favourite)

And once the weather turns cold and nasty, especially in the North, will the OWSers go back to their parent’s basements or will the Left adopt them and build them little Hoovervilles? We’ll see.

The media would like the imagery. I guess the left could fund them. (Think about that for moment, then laugh cynically).

An anti-capitalist group which sparked the Occupy Wall Street movement has called for global protests Saturday to demand that leaders of the Group of 20 (G20) nations impose a “Robin Hood tax” on financial transactions and currency trades.Canada-based Adbusters wants the Occupy Wall Street protest movement against economic inequality to take to the streets to call for a 1 percent tax on such deals ahead of a Nov. 3-4 summit of the G20 leading economies in France.“Let’s send them a clear message: We want you to slow down some of that $1.3 trillion easy money that’s sloshing around the global casino each day—enough cash to fund every social program and environmental initiative in the world,” the activist group said on its website.

So OWS in the US was started by Canadians. Gee, the Democrats can’t even create no-job jobs!:)

The Double Standard and Naked Partisanship revealed (not that the Left or Leftist Media will care):

While the New York Times was hypersensitive to any signs of racial prejudice among the massive, peaceful Tea Party protests, reporter Joseph Berger raised and dismissed the idea of anti-Semitism at Occupy Wall Street, in Saturday’s “Cries of Anti-Semitism, But Not at Zuccotti Park.”

Just two of many references: Reporter David Herszenhorn assumed racism was a force in the movement in an April 1, 2010 podcast: “One is clearly there’s a racial component. Some members of Congress you know, had epithets hurled at them as protesters marched around the Capitol on the day of the big House vote.” Those claims have never been substantiated. On July 18, 2010 Matt Bai reported about fictional “hateful 25-year-olds” at Tea Party rallies.

By contrast, reporter Berger played strong defense for OWS against the anti-Semitism allegations.

Among the hodgepodge of signs that have sprouted in Zuccotti Park in Lower Manhattan, one man in jeans and a baseball cap has been carrying placards that shout their suggestions: “Google: Jewish Billionaires” and “Google: Zionists control Wall St.”

Gee, during the Tea Party Media heyday 1 guy from the SEIU who would show up with a racist sign would draw 100% of the media’s attention. That one person was totally indicative of the movement.

The guy who got beat up BY an SEIU guy at a rally in St. Louis wasn’t.

Fascinating…

At the same time, among the sea of tarps under which protesters have been sleeping, a sukkah, a makeshift hut, was erected to celebrate the Jewish holiday of Sukkot.

While Berger’s story was accompanied by three positive photos of Jews at OWS, it didn’t have room for the widely available shot of the “Google Jewish Billionaires” sign (above).

The Occupy Wall Street protests, now in their second month, have increasingly been criticized by a variety of groups, most of them politically conservative, for flashes of anti-Semitism. Among those calling attention to the issue have been the Republican National Committee, Rush Limbaugh and the columnist William Kristol.

But the protests have also, on occasion, had a distinctly Jewish flavor: The encampment has coincided with the busy Jewish holiday season and has witnessed, in its midst or on its edges, a crowded Kol Nidre service on Yom Kippur, festive dancing with a scroll on Simchat Torah on Thursday night, and the sukkah.

The protesters, clustered together in a kind of ad hoc Athenian democracy in the canyons of Lower Manhattan, firmly deny that their demonstrations against corporate greed and the political power of banks exhibit antagonism that singles out Jews.

“You’re going to get a few wackos,” said Aaron Moses Miller, 25, a slender, unemployed man from Ridgewood, Queens, who had been in the park for 16 days. “You can’t help it in a population of this size.”

Mr. Miller, who is Jewish, said that he had not seen the man holding the anti-Semitic signs, but said: “If I had seen him, I would have said something to him. My name is Aaron Moses Miller.”

Jeff Smith, 41, part of the press team for Occupy Wall Street, assailed those who he said ascribed the views of one sign-holder to the entire movement.

But one sign of like kind at a Tea party Rally WAS indicative of the movement was it not? 🙂

That bolded sentence above is ironic, given the media’s treatment of random signs and outbursts by Tea Party protesters as emblematic of the entire movement.

But much as the Tea Party movement initially grappled with accusations of racism, Occupy Wall Street has been consistently confronted with accusations of anti-Semitism. Several conservative Web sites and television programs have shown video of the sign-holder, as well as of a woman at an allied demonstration in Los Angeles who identified herself as a public school teacher and decried “Zionist Jews who are running the big banks and the Federal Reserve.”

These conservative critics have urged President Obama and Representative Nancy Pelosi, the House Democratic leader, to retract their expressions of support for the Wall Street protests.

“Democrats were quick to single out any instances of perceived extremism among Tea Party supporters,” Sean Spicer, the communications director of the Republican National Committee, said in a statement on Tuesday. “But with Occupy Wall Street, they turn a blind eye.”

An Oct. 13 article on the Web site of Commentary, a politically conservative magazine founded by the American Jewish Committee, though no longer affiliated with it, argued that “it isn’t just a few crackpots engaging in anti-Semitism.” The article said that the “main organizer behind the movement — Adbusters editor Kalle Lasn — has a history of anti-Jewish writing.”

Berger didn’t outline the specifics of Alana Goodman’s post: “Back in 2004, he wrote a highly controversial Adbusters article entitled ‘Why Won’t Anyone Say They Are Jewish?’ which peddled some of the more feverish theories about American Jews, neoconservatism, and the Bush administration…”

Berger followed up:

Mr. Lasn did not return a message left on his Adbusters office voice mail in Vancouver, British Columbia. But Patrick Bruner, another member of the Occupy Wall Street press team, said the magazine Adbusters had helped prompt the protest movement with a call for action but otherwise had “not been active at all.” He said the Occupy Wall Street movement rejected any kind of racism or hatred, but also was “open source,” meaning that anyone could take part.

Odd, given that just last week a Times reporter credited Adbusters with launching the movement! (and they are Canadian!)

More defense: Berger then claimed that “Jewish groups that have sensitive antennas for eruptions of bigotry have not criticized the protesters,” making reference to Abraham Foxman of the Anti-Defamation League, who said there were some “manifestations in the movement of anti-Semitism, but they are not expressing or representing a larger view.” (MRC)
