The Chicken Little Hypocrisy Rebuke

Ragnarok will come someday, tomorrow, come someday, tomorrow, come someday. Ragnarok will come someday and we’ll all be killed.

Unless you give all your rights, freedoms, and your money and do exactly as we say when we say it because we say it!

DO as we Say, not as we Do and Do It Yesterday!

“This year, in Paris, has to be the year that the world finally reaches an agreement to protect the one planet that we’ve got while we still can,” said U.S. President Barack Obama on his recent trip to Alaska. Miguel Cañete, the EU’s chief negotiator, has warned there is “no Plan B — nothing to follow. This is not just ongoing UN discussions. Paris is final.”

The Apocalypse is here. Never Let a Crisis, even one you make up, go to waste.

The world is doomed if you don’t submit!

Conventional wisdom holds that negotiators are hashing out a fair allocation of the deep emissions cuts all countries would need to make to limit warming. That image bears little resemblance to reality.

In fact, emissions reductions are barely on the table at all. Instead, the talks are rigged to ensure an agreement is reached regardless of how little action countries plan to take. The developing world, projected to account for four-fifths of all carbon-dioxide emissions this century, will earn applause for what amounts to a promise to stay on their pre-existing trajectory of emissions-intensive growth.

Here’s how the game works: The negotiating framework established at a 2014 conference in Lima, Peru, requires each country to submit a plan to reduce greenhouse-gas emissions, called an “Intended Nationally Determined Contribution” (INDC). Each submission is at the discretion of the individual country; there is no objective standard it must meet or emissions reduction it must achieve.

Beyond that, it’s nearly impossible even to evaluate or compare them. Developing countries actually blocked a requirement that the plans use a common format and metrics, so an INDC need not even mention emissions levels. Or a country can propose to reduce emissions off a self-defined “business-as-usual” trajectory, essentially deciding how much it wants to emit and then declaring it an “improvement” from the alternative. To prevent such submissions from being challenged, a group of developing countries led by China and India has rejected “any obligatory review mechanism for increasing individual efforts of developing countries.” And lest pressure nevertheless build on the intransigent, no developing country except Mexico submitted an INDC by the initial deadline of March 31 — and most either submitted no plan or submitted one only as the final September 30 cut-off approached.

After all this, the final submissions are not enforceable, and carry no consequences beyond “shame” for noncompliance — a fact bizarrely taken for granted by all involved.

So it’s just The Agenda is The Agenda, and my don’t we look wonderful for “doing something” when in fact it’s all just a gigantic redistribution con.

But MIT’s Joint Program on the Science and Policy of Global Change calculates the improvement by century’s end to be only 0.2 degrees Celsius. Comparing projected emissions to the baseline established by the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change back in 2000 shows no improvement at all.

And therein lies the sticking point on which negotiations actually center: “climate finance.” Climate finance is the term for wealth transferred from developed to developing nations based on a vague and shifting set of rationales including repayment of the “ecological debt” created by past emissions, “reparations” for natural disasters, and funding of renewable energy initiatives.

The issue will dominate the Paris talks. The INDCs covering actual emissions reductions are subjective, discretionary, and thus essentially unnegotiable. Not so the cash. Developing countries are expecting more than $100 billion in annual funds from this agreement or they will walk away. (For scale, that’s roughly equivalent to the entire OECD budget for foreign development assistance.)

Somehow, the international process for addressing climate change has become one where addressing climate change is optional and apparently beside the point. Rich countries are bidding against themselves to purchase the developing world’s signature on an agreement so they can declare victory — even though the agreement itself will be the only progress achieved. (Politico.eu)

The climate change summit in Paris that aims to tackle global warming will itself pump an estimated 300,000 tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, it was claimed today.

Around 50,000 people including world leaders, businesses and activists are expected to travel from across the globe for the two-week conference in Paris which started today.

Most will arrive by plane from as far afield as New Zealand, Sydney and Bermuda, while others will arrive by train and car.

According to calculations by Wired and Steven Stoft of climateParis.org, the average round trip per attendee will be around 9,000 miles.

Taking the fuel consumption of a Boeing 747 – around 16.5 miles per gallon – which the website describes as a ‘happy medium between private jets and bullet trains’, it is estimated around 27 million gallons of fuel will be used by travellers attending the conference.

This figure was arrived at by multiplying the number of attendees by the average round-trip mileage to get 450million miles then multiplying that by 16.5miles per gallon.

With each gallon of fuel producing around 21 pounds of carbon dioxide, the total released by planes flying to and from Paris is thought to be about 575million pounds (290,000 tons), according to rough calculations.

But given that some planes will very likely carry more than one attendee, this figure is likely to be at the very highest end.

The total still pales in comparison with the annual global output of 80 quadrillion pounds, meaning the Paris conference equates to around 22 seconds of the world’s production.

In an opening speech at the summit, Prince Charles warned world leaders that ‘we are becoming the architects of our own destruction’ as he called for immediate action to halt global warming.

The heads of 151 nations have kicked off 12 days of talks in Paris in search of an elusive pact that would wean the world off fossil fuels, making it the largest gathering of global leaders in history.

The Prince of Wales urged them to ‘think of your grandchildren, as I think of mine’ as well as the billions of people without a voice and the youngest generation as they try to secure a new global deal.

He said: ‘If the planet were a patient, we would have treated her long ago.

‘You, ladies and gentlemen, have the power to put her on life support and you must surely start the emergency procedures without further procrastination.

‘Humanity faces many threats but none is greater than climate change. In damaging our climate we are becoming the architects of our own destruction.

‘We have the knowledge, the tools and the money (to solve the crisis).’

Over the next fortnight negotiators from 195 countries will attempt to hammer out a deal that will put the world on a path to prevent temperatures rising by more than 2C above pre-industrial levels and avoid dangerous climate change.

French President Francois Hollande later echoed his statement by telling leaders that ‘the hope of all of humanity’ rested on their shoulders.

And anyone who stands in their way is evil and wants to destroy mankind, naturally. 🙂 No hyperbole there.

In an opening speech at the conference centre in Paris, the French President said: ‘Never have the stakes of an international meeting been so high because it concerns the future of the planet, the future of life. The hope of all of humanity rests on all of your shoulders.’

Barack Obama also painted a dire picture of the future without aggressive action to curb carbon emissions, describing submerged countries, abandoned cities and fields that won’t grow.

In a speech, he said: ‘As the leader of the world’s largest economy and the second largest (greenhouse gas) emitter… the United States of America not only recognises our role in creating this problem, we embrace our responsibility to do something about it.’

The U.S. President also called the climate talks an ‘act of defiance’ by the world community following the Islamic State-linked attacks two weeks ago.

The Islamic Radicals who want to kill you don’t care about your green defiance. Not one bit. As a matter of fact they are making an estimated $5 million dollars a day off of the profits from the oil fields you refuse to bomb because of your environmentalist radicalism. 🙂

Chinese President Xi Jinping said an eventual global climate deal must include aid for poor countries and acknowledge differences between developing and established economies.

Xi, speaking at U.N.-led climate talks near Paris on Monday, said an agreement should also include transfer of climate technology to developing countries.

He said a deal should accommodate national interests, adding: ‘It’s imperative to respect differences’ among countries, especially developing ones.

‘Addressing climate change should not deny the legitimate needs of developing countries to reduce poverty and improve living standards,’ he said.

World leaders had earlier held a moment of silence in honor of people killed in recent attacks in Paris, Beirut, Baghdad, Tunisia and Mali.

The U.N. climate conference in Paris is most likely humanity’s last chance to thwart global environmental disaster, Pope Francis said on Monday, warning the world was “at the limits of suicide”.

The pope, who wrote a major document on the environment last June, made the comment in an hour-long news conference aboard the plane returning him to Rome at the end of a six-day trip to Africa.

The freewheeling conversations have become a trademark of his papacy and the few times he takes direct questions from journalists.

Francis, who visited Kenya, Uganda and the Central African Republic, also said the continent was “a martyr of exploitation” by wealthy countries who lust after its natural resources and try to impose Western values instead of concentrating on development.

The pope was asked if the U.N. climate summit in Paris would mark a turnaround in the fight against global warming.

“I am not sure, but I can say to you ‘now or never’,” he said. “Every year the problems are getting worse. We are at the limits. If I may use a strong word I would say that we are at the limits of suicide.”

He spoke of retreating glaciers in Greenland and low-lying countries at risk from rising sea levels.

“I am sure that the (Paris delegates) have goodwill to do something. I hope it turns out this way and I am praying that it will,” he said. (Daily Mail)

An echo chamber of activist groups and media outlets stands ready to rubber-stamp the final agreement as “historic,” validating the vast reservoirs of political capital spent on the exercise.

It’s a redistribution shell game to make Leftists and Socialists “feel good” about “doing something” thus validating their superiority.

And you get to pay for the privilege of being a serf under their rule.
Worry, they are happy. Don’t worry, they don’t care if you suffer.
It’s all about their power over you and their superiority in their own minds.
They are, after all, Homo Superior Liberalis, and you’re not, SERF.

America: The Movie

I went to see “America: Imagine the World Without it” by Dinesh D’Souza yesterday.

http://www.americathemovie.com/

It is a thought provoking movie. But it will annoy The Leftists because it shows how they have shamed at least 2 generations into hating the idea of America and turning it on it’s head and calling everything about it Evil through propaganda and deception.

But this is not just a movie exposing that. He starts the movie in a very rational fashion (unlike arguing with a devout Leftist).

He lays out their case, acknowledges their points, then systematically proves them inaccurate and then how they managed to get to this point in the first place.

Then what needs to be done to bring back the “idea of America” (Freedom, The Dream, entrepreneurship,grit,self-motivation, etc..)

The Revolutionary War founded the idea.

The Civil War Preserved The Idea.

World War II Saved the idea.

Now, we have to Revive, Rescue and Return the idea. We have to bring it back.

As MY history teachers called it, “The Light on the hill”.  The light of TRUTH.

Not the dark, evil predator that the Left wants you to believe for their own agenda.

They only want you to believe it because it suits them.

They have to destroy America in order to Remake it in their Image.

Or, what was it the Alinsky disciple Barack Obama once said, “Fundamentally Transform” America. 🙂

The “idea” isn’t dead. But it needs our help.

And you must not give into the “shame” the Left will heap upon you, for that is their weapon of choice and they’ll use it like the universe itself depending on it.

Because, to them, it does.

But stay strong. Truth is stronger than Leftist Fiction. But you have to be well armed.

The Sowell of the Syria Question

Serious about Syria?

Serious about Syria?

By: Thomas Sowell
9/3/2013 01:23 PM

Why are we even talking about taking military action in Syria? What is that military action supposed to accomplish? And what is the probability that it will in fact accomplish whatever that unknown goal might be?

It can’t really be WMDs from British Intelligence reports because we all know that just leads to Bush league evil, right? 🙂

What is painfully clear from President Obama’s actions, inactions and delays is that he is more or less playing it by ear, as to what specifically he is going to do, and when. He is telling us more about what he is not going to do — that he will not put “boots on the ground,” for example — than about what he will do.

But, of course, if he has his Nintendo War and it is totally ineffective and then the Terrorist come across our “secure” border (or are already here) and strike in the U.S., then what Mr. Campaigner Speech?

All this is happening a year after issuing an ultimatum to the Bashar al-Assad regime in Syria against the use of chemical or biological weapons. When the President of the United States issues an ultimatum to another sovereign nation, he should know in advance what he is going to do if that ultimatum is rejected.

You blame “the world” for setting the red-line that you set and try to shame them into doing your bidding because that’s how a Community Organizer does it. And it’s always worked before right? 🙂

But that is not the way Barack Obama operates. Like so many people who are masters of lofty words, he does not pay nearly as much attention to mundane realities. Campaigning is his strong suit. Governing is not.

With the mainstream media ready to ooh and aah over his rhetoric, and pass over in silence his policy disasters as President, Obama is home free as far as domestic politics is concerned. But, on the world stage, neither America’s enemies nor America’s allies are hypnotized by his words or his image.

Putin, as old style KGB, is laughing his ass of at the the little neophyte. He knows the bark is worse than the bite. And Assad has no fear of him.

Nations that have to decide whether to ally themselves with us or with our enemies understand that they are making life and death decisions. It is not about rhetoric, image or symbolism. It is about whether nations can count on the realism, wisdom and dependability of the American government.

And one thing Obama has proven is that he’ll pivot on a dime if it’s politically advantageous or throw anyone under a bus to save his own political hide.

He drew the line, and it’s YOUR fault. So YOU have to help him fix it! 😦

Make no mistake about it, Barack Obama is a very clever man. But cleverness is not wisdom, or even common sense.

No it’s not.

When he was in the Senate, Obama — along with Senators Joe Biden, Chuck Hagel and Hillary Clinton — was critical of the Bush administration for not being favorable to the Assad regime.

And were against “unilateral” actions. Even when Congress gave authorization to Bush for Iraq they almost immediately turned on him and have been bashing his “War for Oil” and “Bush Lied People Died” ever since.

But that’s just Politics. And that IS the problem. It’s just politics. It’s not a plan.

Hillary Clinton said that she and other lawmakers who visited Assad considered him a “reformer.” Back in 2007, when Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice appeared before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, both Senator Biden and Senator Hagel chided her for not being more ready to negotiate with Assad.

Senator John Kerry in 2009 said, “Syria is an essential player in bringing peace and stability to the region.”

Now he wants all the Chemical weapons (that he probably got from Saddam) turned over within a week, like some school principal talking down to a student.

I guess he was against attacking before he was for it. 🙂

Some people said that having Joe Biden as Vice President meant that President Obama had someone with many years of foreign policy experience. What they ignored was that Biden had decades of experience being wrong on foreign policy issues, time and time again.

Biden is just there to make getting rid of Obama, a worse case. 🙂

Biden opposed President Ronald Reagan’s military buildup that countered the Soviet Union’s buildup, and helped bring about both the end of the Cold War and the end of the Soviet Union. General David Petraeus’ “surge” strategy that greatly reduced the terrorist attacks in Iraq was opposed in 2007 by Senator Biden, who said, “We need to stop the surge and start to get our troops out.”

Senator Hillary Clinton not only opposed the surge from the outset, she was among those who refused to believe that it had succeeded, even after all the hard evidence had convinced most other people.

The grim reality is that key people in positions to shape our foreign policy during the Obama administration — the President, the Vice President, two Secretaries of State, and the current Secretary of Defense — all have a track record of grossly misconceiving the issues, our enemies and our national interest.

But are Political Tacticians. And the game of Politics is all they have in their sights.

This is the administration that is now asking for a blank check from Congress to take unspecified military action to achieve unspecified goals.

Just Like Bush in Iraq. But they say “it’s not Iraq”. Why? Because, they understand politically (not militarily) that they are hypocrites and they need someone (the media) to cover it up. Then rely on the blind Orwellian obedience of the mindless Left to carry them over the political threshold. Which is the only thing, really, in their sights.

“Military action” is a polite phrase for killing people. It would be nice to believe that this has some larger purpose than saving Barack Obama from political embarrassment, after having issued an ultimatum without having thought through what he would do if that ultimatum was ignored.

He’s the most arrogant man in the world. He’s the Supreme Community Organizer of the World. He can make you do anything he wants because he’s just THAT good at it.

Or So He thinks.

He has the authority to take military action if he wants to. The question is whether he can sucker the Republicans into giving him political cover by pre-approving his unknown actions and unknown goals. (Thomas Sowell)

Well, “Jar Jar” Boehner and the idiots are already lining up like lemmings to the slaughter.

They are only too happy to “appease” and to appear “reasonable” and not “racist” in opposing this President.

The consequences will not be pretty.

But at least we can all be secure in the knowledge that the one person who will not be at fault for those consequence is one Barack Hussein Obama!!

The Progressive Fetish

John Hinderaker at Powerline asks: “Why aren’t more voters repelled by the constant parade of vulgarity, hate and violence that characterizes modern liberalism?”

Blame points back to the national media, which have powerful sway over public opinion. If there’s a shortage of shaming and shunning in America, they may be the main reason.

Mass outrage is fomented by mass media; but when it comes to outrage over left-wing extremism, the media are silent. They have no interest in shaming their kind or shunning their own agenda.

Unfortunately, liberals still control the major networks and the lion’s share of the TV audience, and surveys show most voters still get their political information chiefly from TV.

So beyond the several million voters Fox News can whip up against anti-American radicalism, the vast majority of the electorate sees such radicalism portrayed as normal.

Through a constant barrage of propaganda-masquerading-as-news, the major media manipulate the broader public into accepting homosexual rights, socialism and other extremism as mainstream.

With ample help from Hollywood, the media are indoctrinating the public into believing this is “progress,” and that only the unenlightened cling to traditional America. Only troglodytes reject gay marriage or socialized medicine or man-made global warming.

Hence why I call them The Ministry of Truth (1984), which is was in charge of destroying evidence, changing facts and creating propaganda for the masses.
“Vote For Me, The other Guy’s an Asshole”.
I’m sure they are still bitterly disappointed that the Boston bombers weren’t right wing Tea party “patriots” (a left wing slur meaning ‘terrorist’ in pure Orwellian fashion).
Recall how ABC’s Brian Ross incorrectly suggested there might have been a link between the shooter in the Aurora, Colo., theater killings and the Tea Party. Ross rushed before the cameras after finding a man with the same name listed on the site of the Colorado Tea Party.

The glee they must have felt, for a short while. And when it was revealed that he wasn’t it?
They dropped it like it never happened. In their minds it never did.
The wonders of Orwellian Thought Control.
The Ministry  is responsible for any necessary falsification of historical events. The word truth in the title Ministry of Truth should warn, by definition, that the “minister” will self-serve its own “truth”; the title implies the willful fooling of posterity using “historical” archives to show “in fact” what “really” happened. As well as administering truth, the administration deploys a new tongue-in-cheek language amongst administrators called Newspeak, in which, for example, truth is understood to mean statements like 2 + 2 = 5 when the situation warrants.
The Ministry of Truth is involved with news media, entertainment, the fine arts and educational books. Its purpose is to rewrite history to change the facts to fit Party doctrine for propaganda effect.
To the future or to the past, to a time when thought is free, when men are different from one another and do not live alone — to a time when truth exists and what is done cannot be undone: From the age of uniformity, from the age of solitude, from the age of Big Brother, from the age of doublethink — greetings!
‘Who controls the past,’ ran the Party slogan, ‘controls the future: who controls the present controls the past.’
Don’t you see that the whole aim of Newspeak is to narrow the range of thought? In the end we shall make thoughtcrime literally impossible, because there will be no words in which to express it. Every concept that can ever be needed, will be expressed by exactly one word, with its meaning rigidly defined and all its subsidiary meanings rubbed out and forgotten.
Orthodoxy is unconsciousness.
If human equality is to be forever averted—then the prevailing mental condition must be controlled insanity.

The radical left also prevails by fighting dirty.

With no morals, ethics, or standards of decency.

Conservatives still ceremoniously march into battle in perfect formation, like so many I-beam backed redcoats, only to be mowed down by leftist guerrillas lobbing Molotov cocktails and taking potshots from behind trees.

The ever-decent GOP has to start fighting fire with fire, thinking creatively, outside the box, when it engages in tactical warfare.

One of the main reasons for so many deaths in the Civil War was tactics. Napoleonic tactics that were devised for a gun that could kill from 40 yards were now being used against guns that could kill you from 400 yards. Not to mention Cannons and other things.

The straight line forced march was a death march with the technology way ahead of them.

The GOP is using old school tactics. The Liberals are the terrorists just picking them off one by one.

And General “Jar Jar” Boehner is none the wiser.

While vulgarity, hate and violence have no place, the Marquis of Queensbury rules the right follows only work if both sides honor them — and there’s an impartial referee in the ring to make sure they do.

The referee in the ideological and cultural battle to save America’s heritage is anything but fair. It’s the mono-partisan media, who not only side with liberal extremists but throw in a few elbows and low blows of their own.

Winning, no matter what, is the only objective.

Progressives can’t help themselves. When a normal person hears of a tragedy, they feel the natural range of emotions – fear, anger, sympathy, etc. But progressives are not normal humans. When they hear news of a tragedy their first thought is “How can this help the cause?” There’s something oddly perverse about this mental defect that somehow overrides decency in tragedy’s aftermath, but it’s as widespread amongst the political left as freckles are on redheads.

Harsh? Perhaps. But sometimes the truth hurts.

How can I use this to further The Agenda.

MSNBC would not be outdone. The crown-prince of premature projection-ation is Chris Matthews, who said, “Normally, domestic terrorists people tend to be on the far right. Well, that’s not a good category. Just extremists. Let’s call them that.”

From the far right?

Think about that for a second. The political right is about individual liberty and limited government; the political left is about collective action and a strong government. Take the left to the extreme and you find totalitarianism. Along the way you pass socialism, fascism and communism. Take the right to the extreme and you find, essentially, anarchy. Yet when people think of anarchists they think of leftists because what anarchists truly favor is not empowering individuals but for the anarchists themselves to have the power. Anarchists remain at the margins, so it doesn’t matter much. But it’s something to think about the next time you run across a leftist trying to tell you otherwise.

Anytime you talk about progressives the issue of race inevitably comes into play. That’s because dividing and subdividing Americans is what holds their coalition together. That and convincing everyone they’re victims, they shouldn’t bother trying because the system is stacked against them and, more importantly, the only way their lives will improve is through government. Government will protect them from the faceless boogeyman of racism, homophobia, sexism or the big evil corporation that is responsible for their failures. Never can the notion sometimes life happens, sometimes someone is better or more qualified for a job than you, be allowed to seep into the mind. A victim they must forever be.

Because a victim, or someone convinced they are, can be “empowered” by external forces, such as an election. And even when the savior who promises a better life in exchange for a vote does not deliver, the savior is no condemned. He is said to “need more time” because the forces against him are just that powerful. It’s the promise of a glorious future Christmas that never comes. But I digress.

Race came into play in the Boston attack in a way it rarely does – through the front door. Progressives love to play the race card, and many of them, white and black, make their living telling minorities they can’t get ahead so just trust in others. One white guy who does is David Sirota, a pasty Coloradan who specializes in finding new ways to use the term “white privilege” in situations no non-race-obsessed profiteer could fathom, wrote a piece for Salon.com entitled, “Let’s hope the Boston Marathon bomber is a white American.” Not, “Let’s hope they’re caught,” but let’s hope their pigment is one I can make money from.

And that power to infect the minds of future generations with their perverted ideas through academia and media may well be the ultimate progressive fetish of them all. (Derek Hunter)

What Democracy Doesn’t Look Like

Political Cartoons by Michael Ramirez

At an Occupy Atlanta event Friday night, the cult-like group of demonstrators refused to allow U.S. Congressman and Civil Rights Icon John Lewis to speak to the crowd.

While Rep. Lewis told CBS Atlanta he was not angry over the group’s decision and still supports them, some who came to attend the Occupy Atlanta event are now disassociating themselves from the splintered movement.

“I am angry because this is not what democracy is all about,” said Michelle Williams to CBS Atlanta. Williams had came to support the movement but left in disgust after seeing the treatment of Rep. Lewis.

“This is Marxist more Stalin like. Your movement, you’re just riff-raff. You’re an organized mob.”

This is what Liberal “democracy” looks like. 🙂

An Iranian military leader says the protests spreading from New York’s Wall Street to other U.S. cities are the beginning of an “American Spring,” likening them to the uprisings that toppled Arab autocrats in the Middle East.

And the approval from the Iranian Military means a lot…

I wouldn’t think it would be worthwhile to draw attention to the Occupy Wall Street “movement,” or its list of demands that wouldn’t pass muster in an average kindergarten class.

But if America’s president and vice president choose to talk about it, and give it credibility, then it’s news.

According to VP Joe Biden, demands such as free college, pay independent of work, a $20 minimum wage (why not $100 or $1000?), and a nation with open borders have legitimacy and “a lot in common with the tea party movement.”

President Obama sees these demonstrations against corporate America as reasonable protest toward “the same folks who acted irresponsibly trying to crack down on abusive practices that got us into this situation to begin with.”

This should provide perspective to what our most fundamental problem is today.

We have an endangered species in America whose loss threatens our future. That species is called the American adult.

Can someone please explain to our vice president the difference between a screaming infant not getting what he wants, when he wants it and an adult who understands personal responsibility, humility, work and service to others?

A functioning free society requires citizens who are adults capable of overseeing and administering a government which enforce laws that protect life and property.

Once government simply becomes a playpen for those who believe they run the universe and make its basic laws, and that the rest of us must submit to their hallucinations about what is just, we wind up where we are today.

The Wall Street Journal reported this week that, according to the latest census data, 48.5 percent of American families now are on the receiving end of some sort of government program, the highest percentage in our history.

To provide some perspective, this figure was 10 percent in the 1920’s and a little over 30 percent in 1980.

During the 1960’s, a watershed decade when the infantile culture of narcissism began to subsume free adult culture in America, more government programs were born than in any other period. By 1980, four of these programs of the 1960’s – food stamps, Pell grants, Medicare, and Medicaid – accounted for 164 billion dollars in annual spending. Today these four programs swallow almost an additional trillion dollars.

No, Mr. Biden. Occupy Wall Street has nothing in common with the Tea Party Movement.

The Tea Party Movement is protest against abuse of political power and the increasing marginalization and disrespect for truths, such a protection of life, liberty, and property, that define American freedom.

Occupy Wall Street is about lust for political power, about defining what others should have, and redistributing and spending what belongs to some else. (Star Parker)

Herman Cain:“Part of it is jealousy,” said Mr Cain on CBS television. “I stand by that, and here’s why I don’t have a lot of patience with that: my parents, they never played the victim card.

“My parents never said, ‘We hope that the rich people lose something so we can get something’. No, my dad’s idea was, ‘I want to work hard enough so I can buy a Cadillac – not take somebody else’s’. “

AMEN!

You May be a Criminal before you’re a Criminal

The Department of Homeland Security is building a “prototype screening facility” that it hopes will use factors such as ethnicity, gender, breathing, and heart rate to “detect cues indicative of mal-intent.”

DHS calls its “pre-crime” system Future Attribute Screening Technology <http://epic.org/privacy/fastproject/>, or FAST.

FAST is designed to track and monitor, among other inputs, body movements, voice pitch changes, prosody <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prosody_%28linguistics%29> changes (alterations in the rhythm and intonation of speech), eye movements, body heat changes, and breathing patterns. Occupation and age are also considered. A government source told CNET that blink rate and pupil variation are measured too.

A field test of FAST has been conducted in at least one undisclosed location in the northeast.

Although DHS has publicly suggested that FAST could be used at airport checkpoints–the Transportation Security Administration is part of the department, after all–the government appears to have grander ambitions. One internal DHS document (PDF <http://epic.org/privacy/fastinstallation.pdf>) also obtained by EPIC through the Freedom of Information Act says a mobile version of FAST “could be used at security checkpoints such as border crossings or at large public events such as sporting events or conventions.”

Or a Criminal even when you’re not in the Country.

The House Judiciary Committee passed a bill yesterday that would make it a federal crime for U.S. residents to discuss or plan activities on foreign soil that, if carried out in the U.S., would violate the Controlled Substances Act (CSA) — even if the planned activities are legal in the countries where they’re carried out. H.R. 313, the “Drug Trafficking Safe Harbor Elimination Act of 2011,” is sponsored by Judiciary Committee Chairman Rep. Lamar Smith (R-Texas), and allows prosecutors to bring conspiracy charges against anyone who discusses, plans or advises someone else to engage in any activity that violates the CSA,

The law could also potentially affect academics and medical professionals. For example, a U.S. doctor who works with overseas doctors or government officials on needle exchange programs could be subject to criminal prosecution. A U.S. resident who advises someone in another country on how to grow marijuana or how to run a medical marijuana dispensary would also be in violation of the new law, even if medical marijuana is legal in the country where the recipient of the advice resides.

The Thought Police are watching.

Fundraising by Shame

The Obama campaign is testing a new approach to fundraising, blasting out emails that ever-so-gently shame supporters into donating.

An email sent to a New York recipient read as follows: “Here’s something you don’t have in common with 15,049 other supporters of this movement who tell us they live in New York, NY.”

Despite his rhetorical attacks on Wall Street, a study by the Sunlight Foundation’s Influence Project shows that President Barack Obama has received more money from Wall Street than any other politician over the past 20 years, including former President George W. Bush.

In 2008, Wall Street’s largesse accounted for 20 percent of Obama’s total take, according to Reuters.

When asked by The Daily Caller to comment about President Obama’s credibility when it comes to criticizing Wall Street, the White House declined to reply.

Former White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer says the distance between the president’s rhetoric and actions makes him look hypocritical.

“It’s almost as if President Obama won’t cross across a Wall Street picket line except to get inside with [his] hand out, so he can raise money,” Fleischer told TheDC, referring to the Occupy Wall Street demonstrators who the president has been encouraging over the past week. “That sort of support causes him to look hypocritical.”

Fleischer continued by saying that President Obama and Democrats, such as New York Sen. Charles Schumer, who has received approximately $8.7 million from Wall Street since 1989, should stop taking campaign donations from Wall Street banks if they are so offended by their actions.

“They can’t say we hate Wall Street, but we love their money,” Fleischer said.

An examination of the numbers shows that Obama took in $421,242 in campaign contributions in 2008 from Bank of America’s executives, PACs and employees, which exceeded its prior record contribution of $329,761 to President George W. Bush in 2004.

“The securities and investment industry is Obama’s second largest source of bundlers, after lawyers, at least 56 individuals have raised at least $8.9 million for his campaign,” Massie Ritsch wrote in a Sept. 18, 2008 entry on the Center for Responsive Politics’s OpenSecrets blog.

By the end of Barack Obama’s 2008 campaign, executives and others connected with Wall Street firms, such as Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, Citigroup, UBS AG, JPMorgan Chase, and Morgan Stanley, poured nearly $15.8 million into his coffers. (DC)

Don’t do as I do, Just give me the money!!

The Food Police
Last month, Big Apple Mayor Michael Bloomberg spoke at a United Nations meeting on non-communicable diseases. And a large focus of his speech was — you guessed it — encouraging governments around the world to enact strict, NYC-style regulations on food. “Government’s highest duty,” Bloomberg said, is to make healthy foods the “default” option.

On October 1, Denmark instituted a tax on foods containing saturated fat — the first of its kind. This is on top of a tax the Nordic country slapped last year on “junk” food, like ice cream and chocolate. The left-wing coalition that runs Denmark has even talked about doubling the tax.

And in the long term, there are a number of foods containing saturated fat that are associated with better health. One is dark chocolate (linked to heart health); a second is eggs (a good source of nutrients, according to Harvard); a third is Atlantic salmon (omega-3s are linked to heart and cognitive health). Taxing these foods could drive down these health benefits.

More to the point, nutrient taxes fail to consider overall good nutrition. According to the American Dietetic Association, there are no “good” or “bad” foods. Just good or bad lifestyles.

Further, it’s ludicrous for the government to set dietary policy with the tax code when our understanding of diet and nutrition is always changing.

Not too long ago butter was “bad” and margarine was “good” because trans fat was better than saturated fat. Then margarine became marginalized because it contains trans fat. People fretted about cholesterol in eggs; now eggs are considered a great health food. And remember the government’s low-fat campaign to improve our diets? Obesity rates ballooned after that. It seems that some people see the “lower fat” as permission to eat more. (DC)

But the main thing, for liberals, is government is in control of you. That’s all that really matters. Common sense and reasonable moderation are completely foreign to them because you can’t be trusted!

Nevertheless, the food police take an overly simplistic shoot-first, ask-scientific-questions-later approach. And lest you think these bone-headed policies will stay in the Old World, Bloomberg and his figurative comrades-in-arms are working to spread them across the globe. The challenges of getting people to eat healthy, Bloomberg told the UN, are “too vast and complex for individual governments to overcome alone.”

Imagine you’re sitting in your office wondering what you’ll grab for lunch. If you’re in a city, there are literally dozens of places you could go. How do the food police expect, in a free market, to make the “default” choice the healthy one?

Will they shut down pretzel carts? Will every restaurant have to offer one salad cheaper than everything else on the menu? Or perhaps there will be a “calorie tax” on all food, so the more you eat, the more you pay Uncle Sam. That’s along with a tax based on the food’s saturated fat, sugar, and sodium content.

Of course, some people can eat more than others based on their body size, so diners will have to be weighed to make sure their tax is proportional. (Take a number, and step up to the scale.)

Starting to get the picture?

The last thing we need is even more bureaucracy such as the UN and the World Health Organization assuming they have the moral authority to manage what we eat. When these international organizations get involved in “non-communicable” diseases, what it really means is that unelected, unaccountable activists in Switzerland will be attacking choices across the world.

The fabulously beautiful planet Bethselamin is now so worried about the cumulative erosion by ten billion visiting tourists a year that any net imbalance between the amount you eat and the amount you excrete while on the planet is surgically removed from you body weight when you leave: so every time you go to the lavatory there it is vitally important to get a receipt.  (Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy).
So be very careful, you may be a pre-criminal for thinking about going about to Wendy’s for a burger or talking about pot in Denmark (where you’ll be taxed for that fat anyhow!).
And that’s what freedom looks like. 🙂

All You Need to Know about Amnesty But We’re Afraid it Was True

Before I get to my blog, I found out this morning that one of my Icons has passed away, The Greatest Doctor Who Companion of all Time (see the 200 poll taken last year where she beat every new companion by a mile), Sarah Jane Smith, as played by Elisabeth Sladen has died of cancer.

I am deeply saddened by this news.

So let’s get on with it…

Political Cartoons by Bob Gorrell

All you need to know about how cynical and manipulative and how utterly low this President will go to get re-elected (with some help from the hapless Republicans) is contained in this story on the new spin for Amnesty.

It’s a blatant attempt to win Hispanic voters and the pro-Amnesty crowd back.

Nothing more. Nothing less.

President Barack Obama held a meeting on immigration attended by those he called “stakeholders” at The White House on Tuesday.

The president snubbed many experts who could contribute firsthand experience for addressing what he calls immigration. Greta van Susteren at Fox News said not a single border governor was invited. Wouldn’t you think those governors are the real ‘stakeholders’?

Among those included, according to various media, were identity politics opportunist Al Sharpton and AFL-CIO strongman Richard Trumka. The official White House readout did not even include the names of those who attended.

So the “stakeholders” are Unions and black political opportunists. Not one of them is a border governor or border state official.

I guess we have no stake in illegal immigration. 🙂

The “stakeholders” are in his re-election and if you aren’t one, well screw you!! You racist! 🙂

The ‘stakeholders’ release reads like a campaign statement—Obama “reiterated his deep disappointment” the DREAM Act failed. The US Report covered the latest DREAM Act legislation—the bill was an entitlement program full of loopholes, and the cost would have been funded by US taxpayers.

So here it comes again. But it will have an Orwellian political makeover and it will be loaded up with guilt, fear, and shame.

So get ready for DREAM ACT II: The Pandering!

The immigration system is in chaos, and that condition is a direct result of failed US foreign policy with Mexico, failed border security and a massive exodus of Mexican citizens as well as citizens of Guatemala, El Salvador and numerous other countries. Don’t assume the foreign nationals coming to the U.S. are all from countries south of the border. There’s no accountability because you can’t document the undocumentable. Foreign nationals enjoy more privacy rights than American citizens and documented migrant workers.

Michael Cutler, a well-known immigration and national security expert, said US Citizenship and Immigration Services processes more than 6 million applications each year. Cutler said it’s easier for USCIS to just process the applications and get “rewarded” for productivity.

Cutler also said more than 230 US cities are “infested” by members of “extremely violent” drug cartels.

Consider something else Cutler wrote in his latest newsletter. “[W]hen an alien is naturalized, that alien may take any name he or she wants on the day he is sworn in as a new citizen.”

Cutler also noted both the administrations of presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama endorsed a “catch and release” approach—a method that artificially lowers numbers of foreign nationals believed to be in the country.

Reportage on the meeting didn’t include all the “stakeholders” Obama invited, but van Susteren said a list was furnished to media outlets.

No media mentioned the cost of entitlements as a result of uncontrolled migration, and neither major political party has addressed that issue as well. Congress has instead focused on entitlements for American citizens and documented aliens.

Both parties know America has a problem documenting foreign nationals and it’s likely both have set their sights on using immigration as a political ploy to garner votes in 2012. (The US Report)

Just remember, “By Any means necessary” without regard to morals, ethics, or even decency. The Democrats, and especially THIS President doesn’t care what links they have to go to win. There are no rules.

And the Ministry of Truth Mainstream Media is right there in lock step with them.

And if you’re not, you’re a racist! a bigot! and just plain mean just you wait and see. 🙂
