Former Vice President Al Gore admitted Monday that his pivotal 1994 Senate vote for ethanol subsidies was bad policy but good politics. That says a lot about the reality of environmentalism in government.

As the ethanol tax credit comes up for renewal in Congress on Dec. 31, it’s worth noting it only came about because the vice president cast the decisive 51st vote in favor of it in 1994.

At the time, he packaged it as a big move to preserve the environment in a market-friendly, sustainable manner, and for years defended his vote because it was supposedly good for us.

“The more we can make this home-grown fuel a successful, widely-used product, the better-off our farmers and our environment will be,” he recounted in 1998.

Now the real story emerges. On Monday he matter-of-factly told a bankers group in Greece it was actually about helping himself.

“One of the reasons I made that mistake is that I paid particular attention to the farmers in my home state of Tennessee, and I had a certain fondness for the farmers in the state of Iowa because I was about to run for president,” the former vice president said.

One is tempted to praise a man who admits mistakes, but the magnitude of what Gore actually did through his cynically cast vote as an elected leader in a position of trust suggests sorry isn’t enough.

Gore’s vote drove food prices higher, trashed the environment, and drew American capital into inefficient energy sources over efficient ones. This should be an object lesson in the importance of not trusting politicians on the environment.

Start with what it is — a tax credit for special interests that has cost U.S. taxpayers $16 billion. And costs are rising. The centrally planned ethanol mandate has risen from 7.5 billion gallons by 2012 to 35 billion by 2022. In the last year alone, it’s cost $7 billion.

From the tax credit, refiners make a profit on blended ethanol even when it costs more than gasoline, an unfair price distortion.

No wonder refiners told farmers they could buy all the corn they could grow — Uncle Sam was picking up the tab. Today, 41% of all corn grown in America goes to ethanol — not to the dinner table.

As corn exports fell, inflation soared abroad. In Mexico, riots broke out over rising tortilla prices. Inflation hurts the poor most.

Then there was the product itself, ethanol, a fuel that’s been around since the days of Henry Ford. It burns 30% less efficiently than other forms of energy, such as oil, clean coal, shale and natural gas. As IBD wrote earlier this month, ethanol “has never made much sense economically or environmentally.” Gore confirms this.

Still, ethanol mandates did wonders for Gore’s political life, bringing him everything from a 2007 Nobel Peace Prize for environmentalism to big bucks to speak in places like Athens, Greece.

By his own admission, Gore’s mistake came at our expense and for that he deserves scorn. More importantly, the feel-good era of environmentalism by government diktat must end.

Taxpayers shouldn’t be sacrificed on the altar of environmentalism to satisfy one man’s ambitions.

Among the unintended consequences, farmland that had been efficiently planted with multiple crops ended up as monolithic cornfields, using 1,700 gallons of water to make a gallon of ethanol. Food prices surged as the government’s ethanol monster got fed. (Ibd)

So does this whole sorry mess of enviromentalist whackos come down to one man’s ambitions unrealized. Is that why liberals are STILL mad about the 2000 election and have gone off the rails ever since?

And just think of all the food shortages and hunger (and there was in other countries) because 1 man decided that his presidential ambition out weighed the nation or the world.

Gee, sounds like Obama  now. 😦

But it’s hardly over. “Green” has gone GREEN. As in Money!

A high-ranking member of the U.N.’s Panel on Climate Change admits the group’s primary goal is the redistribution of wealth and not environmental protection or saving the Earth.

Money, they say, is the root of all evil. It’s also the motivating force behind what is left of the climate change movement after the devastating Climate-gate and IPCC scandals that saw the deliberate manipulation of scientific data to spur the world into taking draconian regulatory action.

Left for dead, global warm-mongers are busy planning their next move, which should occur at a climate conference in relatively balmy Cancun at month’s end. Certainly it should provide a more appropriate venue for discussing global warming than the site of the last failed climate conference — chilly Copenhagen.

Ottmar Edenhofer, a German economist and co-chair of the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s (IPCC) Working Group III on Mitigation of Climate Change (say that twice), told the Neue Zurcher Zeitung last week: “The climate summit in Cancun at the end of the month is not a climate conference, but one of the largest economic conferences since the Second World War.” After all, redistributing global wealth is no small matter.

Edenhofer let the environmental cat out of the bag when he said “climate policy is redistributing the world’s wealth” and that “it’s a big mistake to discuss climate policy separately from the major themes of globalization.”

In his IPCC post, Edenhofer was a lead author of the IPCC’s Fourth Assessment Report in 2007. Based on anecdotal evidence, it contained unsubstantiated claims that the Himalayan glaciers would soon disappear and Bangladesh would be totally submerged.

Edenhofer claims “developed countries have basically expropriated the atmosphere of the world community” and so they must have their wealth expropriated and redistributed to the victims of their alleged crimes, the postage stamp countries of the world. He admits this “has almost nothing to do with environmental policy anymore, with problems such as deforestation or the ozone hole.”

It has everything to do with a different kind of green. U.N. warm-mongers are seeking to impose a global climate reparations tax on everything from airline flights and international shipping to fuel and financial transactions. At first, this punitive tax on progress is expected to net $100 billion annually, though that amount, like our energy costs, is expected to necessarily skyrocket.

We’ve seen such plans before. Just before Copenhagen, a group of “chicken littles” along with some gullible corporations ran an ad campaign titled “Hopenhagen.” It pushed a global wealth redistribution scheme based on the theory that Western nations, particularly the U.S., owe a “climate debt” for having initiated the Industrial Revolution and plundered the world’s fossil fuel resources in the name of unbridled capitalism.

According to a Hopenhagen pocket guide, there will be a “Green New Deal” that “will be based on the polluter-pays principle, on the historically high emissions of developed nations and on the capacity of the rich nations to help the poor.”

This sounds like the Marxist principle: to each according to his need from each according to his ability — with a guilty conscience thrown in for good measure. As President Obama might put it, U.N. officials are seeking a “fundamental transformation” of the globe.

Given this administration’s willingness to compromise American sovereignty, we could soon see Americans taxed to fund a global scam — the ultimate form of taxation without representation. (IBD)

The only cure for this is flush every Democrat out of the system. Otherwise, this cancer will just keep coming back and keep growing. It will kill the patient eventually.

The patient being US.

More IPCC Errors Exposed

The United Nations’ expert panel on climate change based claims about ice disappearing from the world’s mountain tops on a student’s dissertation and an article in a mountaineering magazine.

Say What??!!!! 😦

The revelation will cause fresh embarrassment for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which had to issue a humiliating apology earlier this month over inaccurate statements about global warming.

The IPCC’s remit is to provide an authoritative assessment of scientific evidence on climate change.

In its most recent report, it stated that observed reductions in mountain ice in the Andes, Alps and Africa was being caused by global warming, citing two papers as the source of the information.

However, it can be revealed that one of the sources quoted was a feature article published in a popular magazine for climbers which was based on anecdotal evidence from mountaineers about the changes they were witnessing on the mountainsides around them.

The other was a dissertation written by a geography student, studying for the equivalent of a master’s degree, at the University of Berne in Switzerland that quoted interviews with mountain guides in the Alps.

The revelations, uncovered by The Sunday Telegraph, have raised fresh questions about the quality of the information contained in the report, which was published in 2007.

It comes after officials for the panel were forced earlier this month to retract inaccurate claims in the IPCC’s report about the melting of Himalayan glaciers.

Sceptics have seized upon the mistakes to cast doubt over the validity of the IPCC and have called for the panel to be disbanded.

This week scientists from around the world leapt to the defence of the IPCC, insisting that despite the errors, which they describe as minor, the majority of the science presented in the IPCC report is sound and its conclusions are unaffected.

But some researchers have expressed exasperation at the IPCC’s use of unsubstantiated claims and sources outside of the scientific literature.

Professor Richard Tol, one of the report’s authors who is based at the Economic and Social Research Institute in Dublin, Ireland, said: “These are essentially a collection of anecdotes.

“Why did they do this? It is quite astounding. Although there have probably been no policy decisions made on the basis of this, it is illustrative of how sloppy Working Group Two (the panel of experts within the IPCC responsible for drawing up this section of the report) has been.

Why did they do it? Because it fit their politics. The “Evidence” fit what they want to accomplish.

It’s Not Science, it’s just politics.

Making them Political Scientists, not actual Scientists.

“There is no way current climbers and mountain guides can give anecdotal evidence back to the 1900s, so what they claim is complete nonsense.”

The IPCC report, which is published every six years, is used by government’s worldwide to inform policy decisions that affect billions of people.

The claims about disappearing mountain ice were contained within a table entitled “Selected observed effects due to changes in the cryosphere produced by warming”.

It states that reductions in mountain ice have been observed from the loss of ice climbs in the Andes, Alps and in Africa between 1900 and 2000.

The report also states that the section is intended to “assess studies that have been published since the TAR (Third Assessment Report) of observed changes and their effects”.

But neither the dissertation or the magazine article cited as sources for this information were ever subject to the rigorous scientific review process that research published in scientific journals must undergo.

The magazine article, which was written by Mark Bowen, a climber and author of two books on climate change, appeared in Climbing magazine in 2002. It quoted anecdotal evidence from climbers of retreating glaciers and the loss of ice from climbs since the 1970s.

Mr Bowen said: “I am surprised that they have cited an article from a climbing magazine, but there is no reason why anecdotal evidence from climbers should be disregarded as they are spending a great deal of time in places that other people rarely go and so notice the changes.”

Because it’s not scientific?? Next thing you know the world will be flat because that’s what it looks to us down her on the surface!! 🙂

The dissertation paper, written by professional mountain guide and climate change campaigner Dario-Andri Schworer while he was studying for a geography degree, quotes observations from interviews with around 80 mountain guides in the Bernina region of the Swiss Alps.

Experts claim that loss of ice climbs are a poor indicator of a reduction in mountain ice as climbers can knock ice down and damage ice falls with their axes and crampons.

The IPCC has faced growing criticism over the sources it used in its last report after it emerged the panel had used unsubstantiated figures on glacial melting in the Himalayas that were contained within a World Wildlife Fund (WWF) report.

It can be revealed that the IPCC report made use of 16 non-peer reviewed WWF reports.

One claim, which stated that coral reefs near mangrove forests contained up to 25 times more fish numbers than those without mangroves nearby, quoted a feature article on the WWF website.

In fact the data contained within the WWF article originated from a paper published in 2004 in the respected journal Nature.

In another example a WWF paper on forest fires was used to illustrate the impact of reduced rainfall in the Amazon rainforest, but the data was from another Nature paper published in 1999.

When The Sunday Telegraph contacted the lead scientists behind the two papers in Nature, they expressed surprise that their research was not cited directly but said the IPCC had accurately represented their work.

The chair of the IPCC Rajendra Pachauri has faced mounting pressure and calls for his resignation amid the growing controversy over the error on glacier melting and use of unreliable sources of information.

A survey of 400 authors and contributors to the IPCC report showed, however, that the majority still support Mr Pachauri and the panel’s vice chairs. They also insisted the overall findings of the report are robust despite the minor errors.

The Religion of Global Warming, overwhelms Science.

But many expressed concern at the use of non-peer reviewed information in the reports and called for a tightening of the guidelines on how information can be used.

The Met Office, which has seven researchers who contributed to the report including Professor Martin Parry who was co-chair of the working group responsible for the part of the report that contained the glacier errors, said: “The IPCC should continue to ensure that its review process is as robust and transparent as possible, that it draws only from the peer-reviewed literature, and that uncertainties in the science and projections are clearly expressed.”

Roger Sedjo, a senior research fellow at the US research organisation Resources for the Future who also contributed to the IPCC’s latest report, added: “The IPCC is, unfortunately, a highly political organisation with most of the secretariat bordering on climate advocacy.

“It needs to develop a more balanced and indeed scientifically sceptical behaviour pattern. The organisation tend to select the most negative studies ignoring more positive alternatives.”

The IPCC failed to respond to questions about the inclusion of unreliable sources in its report but it has insisted over the past week that despite minor errors, the findings of the report are still robust and consistent with the underlying science.(UK Telegraph)

NYTimes: Now, there’s a danger that the uproar over the IPCC’s erroneous paragraph could overshadow the scientific group’s broader conclusions about the effects of climate change, said Ben Santer, a climate scientist at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.

“Focusing on a mouse and ignoring the elephant would be a mistake,” he told reporters yesterday, especially since independent assessments by the National Academy of Sciences, the federal government and other sources echo the IPCC’s overall findings.

The Elephant in the room, dear reader, is that THEY ARE LYING!!! and they keep getting caught at it. And they all take the Liberal political dismissive route of “there’ nothing to see, it’s meaningless, it only a small error. Not big deal. get over it.”

Now, in science, if your wrong. Or if you make errors that means your theory is not correct.

Not not in Politics.

And this is Politics. Not Science.

Roger Pielke, Jr., a professor of environmental studies at the University of Colorado, said scientists make mistakes all the time “and it isn’t a big deal.”

Well, that makes me feel better 😦

And the kicker:

Dr. Murari Lal, the scientist behind the bogus claim about melting Himalayan glaciers, suggested over the weekend that the panel intentionally ignored the facts.

The statement “related to several countries in this region and their water sources,”Lal told the London paper The Mail. “We thought that if we can highlight it, it will impact policy-makers and politicians and encourage them to take some concrete action. It had importance for the region, so we thought we should put it in.”

The Mail concluded that the comments were included “purely to put political pressure on world leaders.”(Times)

According to the IPCC’s statement of principles, its role is ‘to assess on a comprehensive, objective, open and transparent basis, scientific, technical and socio-economic information – IPCC reports should be neutral with respect to policy’.

Now, you can’t write comedy like that.

A comedy of errors, that is.

And with comedy comes tragedy.

The tragedy of the degradation and politicization of the Scientific Method by the left for their own needs for power and control.

It’s as corrupted now as everything they touch.

For example, Hayley Fowler of Newcastle University, suggested that their draft did not mention that Himalayan glaciers in the Karakoram range are growing rapidly, citing a paper published in the influential journal Nature.

In their response, the IPCC authors said, bizarrely, that they were ‘unable to get hold of the suggested references’, but would ‘consider’ this in their final version. They failed to do so.

The Japanese government commented that the draft did not clarify what it meant by stating that the likelihood of the glaciers disappearing by 2035 was ‘very high’. ‘What is the confidence level?’ it asked.

The authors’ response said ‘appropriate revisions and editing made’. But the final version was identical to their draft.

Last night, Dr Pachauri defended the IPCC, saying it was wrong to generalise based on a single mistake. ‘Our procedure is robust,’ he added. (Daily Mail)

I hate “robust”. It’s a Liberal code-word for shut up.

No amount of errors or misrepresentations of facts will stop the Global warming Religionists though.

Their Agenda is the Agenda!

Much Like Dear ole’ Speaker Pelosi:

“We will move on many fronts — any front we can,” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a California Democrat herself, said Thursday. “We must take whatever time it takes to do it. But we are going to get health care reform passed for the American people.”

Interesting, that usage of the word “for.” “Against” would be a more accurate description. Americans simply don’t want what Washington’s Democrats are selling — and it’s not because they don’t know what’s in the 2,000-page bills. It’s because they do know what’s in them. (IBD)

The Bulls of Liberal Group DoubleThink are wrecking our China shop….

Freezing Taxpayers

(CBS) Thanks to a recently filed Congressional expense reports there’s new light shed on the Copenhagen Climate Summit in Denmark and how much it cost taxpayers.

CBS News Investigative correspondent Sharyl Attkisson reports official filings and our own investigation show at least 106 people from the House and Senate attended – spouses, a doctor, a protocol expert and even a photographer.

For 15 Democratic and 6 Republican Congressmen, food and rooms for two nights cost $4,406 tax dollars each. That’s $2,200 a day – more than most Americans spend on their monthly mortgage payment.

Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Calif., is a key climate change player. He went to Copenhagen last year. Last week, we asked him about the $2,200-a-day bill for room and food.

“I can’t believe that,” Rep. Waxman said. “I can’t believe it, but I don’t know.”

But his name is in black and white in the expense reports. The group expense report was filed by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif. She wouldn’t talk about it when our producer tried to ask.

Pelosi’s office did offer an explanation for the high room charges. Those who stayed just two nights were charged a six-night minimum at the five-star Marriott. One staffer said, they strongly objected to no avail. You may ask how they’ll negotiate a climate treaty, if they can’t get a better deal on hotel rooms.

I had a job as a reservationist in the hotel business for 7 years. I can tell you that a minimum length of stay is usually programmed in to system so you can’t override it. So complain all you want, it matters not.

But since they weren’t paying for it anyhow…

Total hotel, meeting rooms and “a couple” of $1,000-a-night hospitality suites topped $400,000.

Flights weren’t cheap, either. Fifty-nine House and Senate staff flew commercial during the Copenhagen rush. They paid government rates — $5-10,000 each — totaling $408,064. Add three military jets — $168,351 just for flight time — and the bill tops $1.1 million dollars — not including all the Obama administration officials who attended: well over 60.

Imagine the “carbon footprint”.

Imagine the trash and the environmental damage. 🙂

And they accomplished ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!

And you, the taxpayer,  got stuck with the check.

So Now Obama is going to selectively “freeze” spending in certain area of the government to make it appear like he actually is doing something.

But it’s like sticking your finger in the dike wall after the wall collapsed around you.

But he’ll look “presidential” and it will be a good Campaign Speech.

It just won’t be Leadership.

And from what I understand it would be from 2011-2013. He’s re-election wouldn’t be a factor, now would it?? 🙂

WSJ: The spending freeze, which is expected to be included in Wednesday’s State of the Union address and the president’s Feb. 1 budget proposal, is one of a series of small-scale initiatives the White House is unrolling as the president adjusts to a more hostile political terrain in his second year. On Monday, the president unveiled a set of proposals aimed at making child care, college and elder care more affordable.

Yeah, that get some of the 7 million unemployed a job. 😦

“Given Washington Democrats’ unprecedented spending binge, this is like announcing you’re going on a diet after winning a pie-eating contest,” said Michael Steel, spokesman for House Minority Leader John A. Boehner (R., Ohio). “Will the budget still double the debt over five years and triple it over 10? That’s the bottom line.”

Among the areas that may be potentially subject to cuts: the departments of Housing and Urban Development, Justice, Energy, Transportation, Agriculture, and Health and Human Services.

But it would exempt security-related budgets for the Pentagon, foreign aid, the Veterans Administration and homeland security, as well as the entitlement programs that make up the biggest and fastest-growing part of the federal budget: Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security.

Remember, in the Health Care Reform Bill where they were going to cut $500 Billion dollars form Medicare and Medicaid to pay for it??

And I said that’ll never happen.

Well, why not still do it?

That’s real reform. 🙂

But that’s not what this is about. This is all show.

Yet again.

And mind you, it’s just a Proposal.

The Congress would have to enact it.

Then they would have to do.

How likely is that with this porked out bunch of lunatics running that asylum??

They’ll just give away even more trying to buy the angry voters off.

John Makin, an economist at the conservative American Enterprise Institute, called the effort “certainly a step in the right direction.” He said the amount saved isn’t large, but noted that he preferred this approach over raising taxes. “I’m not going to belittle it because it’s not a big cut in spending.”

A year after the White House rolled out ambitious initiatives on health care and energy, in addition to a giant economic stimulus plan, the president is in some respects taking smaller steps. That’s partly because much of the 2009 agenda remains undone. Also, in an election year, members of Congress are typically reluctant to take on controversial proposals.

But the president said Monday that he remains committed to tackling health care and other big problems. “I’d rather be a really good one-term president than a mediocre two-term president,” he told ABC News.

Or as Charles Krauthammer said, “There’s a third option. He could be a mediocre one-term president”.

Remember, this is the guy who gave his first year a B+. 🙂

Wouldn’t you love to have seen the Pre-Jan 19th State of The Union Speech that had to be scrapped. 🙂

And on energy, following last year’s proposal to fight global warming by requiring companies pay for the right to emit greenhouse gases, Democrats concede it is more likely that Congress will approve a scaled-back bill with subsidies and more modest rules.

So the far-left, super oppressive, Cap & Tax will likely be neutered. Just like the Copenhagen Summit went up in a puff of hot air.

Thank you, Massachusetts!!

A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!”

Notice where Global Warming fell?  Dead Last!

Immigration (Reform) 4th to last!

Health Care, 8th!

Yep, They got it! 🙂

The administration officials said the part of the budget they have singled out — $447 billion in domestic programs — amounts to a relatively small share, about one-eighth, of the overall federal budget.(NYT)

Gee whiz, that’s just over 1/2 as much as the Stimulus that was supposed to create millions of jobs and save the world! 🙂

“A lot of our caucus won’t like it but I don’t think we have any choice,” said an adviser to Congressional Democratic leaders, who would only speak on condition of anonymity about internal party deliberations. “After Massachusetts and all the polls about independents’ abandoning us for being fiscally irresponsible, we can’t afford to be spending more than Obama.” (NYT)

A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!”

On the eve of President Obama’s first State of the Union address, two Democratic congressmen are advising him to extend the Bush tax cuts instead of letting them expire. (IBD)

The EVIL Satan-inspired, Spawn of the Devil Himself ,Greedy- Corporate-America-Give-to-the-Rich-Tax-Cuts?? 🙂

Reps. Bobby Bright, D-Ala., and Mike McMahon, D-N.Y., sent a “Dear Colleague” letter on Thursday asking their fellow congressmen to support extending the Bush tax cuts, passed in 2001 and 2003, at least for two years.

“Allowing these tax rates to expire during this recession runs the risk of curtailing economic expansion just when it begins to pick up and could lead to a ‘double-dip’ recession,” says the letter.

Even Harry “The Tool” Mitchell (D-AZ) agrees (and no one had to tell him how to change his vote this time): “Given the unique economic difficulties we face as a nation, this is the wrong time to raise these taxes. We need to retain these tax cuts that encourage investment that stimulates growth and job creation,” Mitchell wrote.

But after spending literally years bitching about them as the evil incarnate, can they reverse course just to make it look like “they care”.

Of Course they can.

But the mere fact that they propose it is fascinating.

How the world has changed in a week.

The Partisan Divide

IBD: We’d guess Democratic Sen. Evan Bayh of Indiana sums up the Beltway wisdom when he says that tension across party lines makes it tough to rein in the debt and deficits. “Democrats want to spend more than we can afford,” he said. “Republicans want to cut more taxes than we can afford.”

And since politicians don’t cut programs, especially their own pet ones, tax hikes are inevitable.

And these could be on the backs of the Health Reform Taxes and potentially Cap & Trade taxes.

Cap & Trade is looking doubtful, but not impossible, as the Copenhagen Summit collapsed under it’s own weight late in the week.

They created enough of their own self-obsessed “carbon footprints” to choke a few African nations and came away with nothing really.

Anyone ever heard of Net Meeting?

John Sauven, Greenpeace UK’s executive director, said: “There are no targets for carbon cuts and no agreement on a legally binding treaty. It seems there are too few politicians in this world capable of looking beyond the horizon of their own narrow self-interest.” (examiner)

No truer statement, especially these day.

And especially when it comes to Democrats, Republicans, and the spoilers, Independents like me.

And Partisanship has hardened more and more in the last 10 years.

WSJ: Last year, for example, Democrats voted with the majority of their caucus 92% of the time in the House and 87% of the time in the Senate. Republicans voted with the majority of their caucus 87% of the time in the House and 83% of the time in the Senate. In other words, in only a small percentage of cases do either Democrats or Republicans buck the party line. That’s a picture of lockstep partisan voting, and it has been that way since the late 1990s.

So the Democrats, who have a majority, want to spend like it doesn’t matter on The Agenda. And the minority wants to cut taxes to stimulate the economy. But to Democrats the phrase “tax cut” is an evil 4-letter word…

You have a real mess.

So when this President foolishly or naive promised a post-partisan atmosphere he was obviously either disingenuous or permanently on Nitrous Oxide.

Making any meaningful  reductions very hard indeed.

It hasn’t always been this way. Look back 40 years, and Washington behaved in a quite different manner, with Democrats and Republicans both showing far more willingness to break ranks and reach across the aisle to the other side. In 1969, for example, House Democrats voted with their party’s majority just 61% of the time and House Republicans just 62% of the time. In other words, lockstep voting was roughly a third less prevalent than it is today.

If it had been as strident then as it is now the Civil Rights Acts of the 1960’s would never have happened.

GOP Sen. Judd Gregg of New Hampshire, who with Democratic Sen. Kent Conrad of North Dakota came up with the idea for the panel (8 Republicans, 8 Democrats 2 Obama Admins to try and work out a deal), sees the parties in conflict joining hands and jumping “off a cliff together.” As inspiring as that would be for many voters weary of Washington’s insatiable appetite for other people’s money, it’s not likely to turn out that way.

Likelier, those who recommend spending cuts will be pushed off the cliff and unable to oppose tax hikes.

Which brings us back to Bayh’s comment that “Republicans want to cut more taxes than we can afford.” It’s tax hikes, not cuts, that we can’t afford. We can’t even afford the taxes being imposed now.

Research has found that economic growth is maximized when combined federal, state and local taxes are 23% of the gross domestic product. The combined rate today is close to 30%.

America is the economic engine that moves the world. If the task force recommends tax hikes, and the Democratic Congress passes them and the president signs them into law, the shock will be felt here and abroad.

But if the panel does an honest analysis, it will find Washington has spending issues, not a revenue problem.

But like any drug addict they have to admit they have a problem first.

And I don’t see the Democrats doing that, even in an off year re-election cycle.

Example: The culmination of years of runaway socialism has left the  Greek public resentful, bitter and unwilling to pay taxes. “Why should I pay?” a Greek citizen told the New York Times. “I don’t care about my government, I don’t care about my country.”

Let the rich pay them. Let the “greedy” corporations pay them.

Their country’s bond rating was just lowered, making their money worth less and borrowing more expensive.

Our Future or our Present?

It’s all about Me.

What’s in it for Me.

Screw you.

It’s all about The Party.

It’s all about The Agenda.

The Politicians and their divide on one side.

The People on the other.

So you have a divide within a divide.

Fifty-seven percent (57%) of voters nationwide say that it would be better to pass no health care reform bill this year instead of passing the plan currently being considered by Congress. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just 34% think that passing that bill would be better.

However, 70% of liberal voters nationwide say it would be better to pass the legislation rather than passing nothing at all. Most moderates (54%) and conservatives (80%) hold the opposite view.

Compared to the average government worker, most Americans think they work harder, have less job security and make less money.

In fact, 59% of Americans say the average government worker earns more annually than the average taxpayer, according to the latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey.

Among those who have close friends or relatives who work for the government, the belief is even stronger: 61% say the average government worker earns more than the average taxpayer.

Feeding that belief is the finding that 51% of all adults think government workers are paid too much. Only 10% say they are paid too little, while 27% say their pay is about right.

And they have FEHBP, the platinium standard for perfect health care.

So the partisan divide widens.

And with Mainstream Media very much partisan, you can’t even get the news without the spin cycle, just pries the wedge open farther. After all, conflict is good for the new business and pushing The Agenda is their partisan need.

The War on FOX by the White House and the Mainstream Media earlier this year should give us a good clue there.

Why they heck would they want to cover the news “objectively”? That’s so old fashion and not “crusading” enough for your average “journalist” today.

There’s nothing in it for them to just report the news.

That’s boring.

Especially, if THEY disagree with it.

Cynic: a person who believes that only selfishness motivates human actions.

“a blackguard whose faulty vision sees things as they are, not as they ought to be.” –Ambrose Bierce

Yep, that’s me. 🙂

And from the evidence, is that so wrong….

The Agenda Uber Alles

To Lord Doom, Al Gore: “It is better to deserve honors and not have them than to have them and not deserve them.”Mark Twain.

Unless, you’re making millions off the suckers. Oh, and when the jig is up, just ignore them.

WSJ: JOHN STOSSEL, HOST: I wish that Al Gore were here to debate him (Jerry Taylor, Energy Analyst for the Cato Institute) and me. We asked Vice President Gore, and his office sent this e-mail saying: “It’s very difficult to decline invitations such as yours, but it’s an unfortunate inevitability of the growing influence of the climate crisis message and the demand on Mr. Gore’s time. (Boos from audience) We do apologize, but thank you for your interest.” (Via email 11/23/09).

Come on, Mr. Gore. The idea that you don’t have time is pretty silly. You have time to go on programs like “Saturday Night Live.” It’s not a time issue. (Applause) Truth is, you won’t debate anyone. You’ve been asked lots of times, but you always say no. But if you do ever want to debate, we’d love to offer you the air time. We will give it to you. I’ll give you a special phone number that goes to this phone. Glenn Beck has that red phone that goes to the President. For you Mr. Gore, the green phone. I await your call.

Of course, Stossel was quite right: despite claiming to be an expert on this subject, Al Gore refuses to debate anyone. And, he only goes on television programs where he knows he can say whatever he wants, regardless of accuracy, and never get challenged.

Such is what happened when he appeared with CNN’s John Roberts and Kiran Chetry Wednesday morning, and with MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell Wednesday afternoon.

That media not only comply with Gore’s ability to present unchallenged falsehoods to the nation, but also let him get away with never being on the air with anyone that disagrees with his views, is nothing less than appalling.

That said, Stossel shouldn’t hold his breath waiting for this charlatan’s call.

Gore’s got the media in his back pocket, and he’ll never voluntarily relinquish control.

And he is still at it with incredibly stupid comments. On the Conan O’Brien show of 11/12/09, he said the temperature in the mantle, the deep layer immediately below the crust, is several million degrees just two kilometers down. This is many times hotter than the Sun.

This is blatantly wrong. But don’t expect the “consensus’ media to care.  After all, according to them, they aren’t bias. We are. 🙂

In Gore’s and his lemmings world, facts are facts when they are spoken by them, not when they are proved.

As reported by Not Evil Just Wrong Monday:

In several recent interviews the former vice president said that the Climategate emails were “sound and fury signifying nothing…the most recent one is more than 10 years old.”

However the reality is that the most recent email from Climategate is less than two months old. The emails undermine the science of Climate Alarmism and that is why the alarmists are so reluctant to address them or like Mr Gore they make factually incorrect statements about how relevant they are.

On CNN: Host John Roberts, to his credit, was quick to correct Gore when he was interviewing him on the same subject saying that, “many are far more recent than that.” Gore did not respond.

Mr. Gore says he cares a lot about science and scientific accuracy. His whole theory of Climate Alarmism depends on it but today at the United Nations Copenhagen Climate Conference he refused several opportunities to correct the record when asked about his errors by journalist and film maker Phelim McAleer. Instead his Press Secretary grabbed McAleer’s microphone to stop questions being put to the vice-president.

Have U.N. security officials been instructed to prevent journalists from asking climate realists uncomfortable questions?

Best to just ignore the annoying people who actually want to debate you.

Especially when you continue to tell whoppers:  Examiner.com

Now he has been caught in stating in a speech at the climate talks, that there is a 75 percent chance that Arctic ice cap could become “ice free” during the summer months in as little as the next five to seven years.

Only problem is, the scientist who Gore cited as the source for his whopper, Dr Wieslaw Maslowski, was quoted AFTER Gore’s speech as saying his research revealed ‘nothing of the sort’.

‘It’s unclear to me how this figure was arrived at,’ Dr Maslowski said. ‘I would never try to estimate likelihood at anything as exact as this.’

And Dr Jim Overland, a leading oceanographer at the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said:  ‘This is an exaggeration that opens the science up to criticism from skeptics,’.

Two years ago, a High Court judge (in the UK)  ruled his Oscar-winning documentary An Inconvenient Truth was ‘alarmist’ and contained nine scientific errors.

It’s the latest embarrassment for Gore, an outspoken environmental campaigner who has earned millions of pounds from green investments and faced repeated criticism for scaremongering.

The court said copies of the film sent to secondary schools should be accompanied with notes to balance Gore’s views.

Examiner: Rather than recognizing that the best science is skeptical science, any skepticism is now treated with the “ostrich in the sand” syndrome and ridiculed off the stage.  Irony being it is actually the “consensus” clucks who are putting their heads in the sand.  Dutifully following the dogma of their leaders, (Gore, Soros, Obama) they shout down heretics in the best traditions of the Spanish Inquisition.  Galileo and Newton would be most uncomfortable at this convention.

Yes indeed, these citizens are most dutiful to the dogma.  In fact, these “citizens of the world” are so dutiful to their cause that when one Professor Stephen Schneider (IPCC contributor extraordinaire) was being “pressured” by independent film maker Phelim McAleer regarding said professor’s views on the climategate conundrum and it’s effect upon the “science” of climate change, an assistant to the professor felt it necessary to summon armed UN security guards.

Why bother with facts when you can just call a security guard instead?  The irony is that the questioning was at a press conference called by Professor Schneider to launch his new book!

Speaking of Books, Lord Doom has a new tome out: “Our Choice” which depicts a global warming ravaged earth on part of the cover. Problem is:

The retouched image depicting our planet at some point in the future, contains images of five hurricanes. One storm off the coast of Florida is turning in a clockwise motion, an impossibility in the northern hemisphere. Another hurricane is shown near Peru and the equator, a place where hurricanes cannot form. It is also a bit ironic that so many storms are depicted when hurricane activity is currently at a 30 year low.

In the modified image, Cuba appears to be completely submerged. That would require a sea level rise of more than 6580 feet as that is the height of Pico Turquino on the island. Much of Florida as well is now under water as is a great deal of Central America.

The problem is that if there were indeed a rise of that level, Florida would be entirely gone as its highest point only reaches an altitude of 345 feet. Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, South Carolina, Virginia and virtually every single other state that borders an ocean (and many landlocked states) would be submerged. Even Denver, the Mile High City, would be under water although presumably its residents could escape to the Rocky Mountains.

In fact, only 17 of the 50 states in the union would have part of their land above sea level, only two of which are east of the Rockies. Globally, that sea rise would be devastating as well sending many nations under the surface of the ocean including South Korea, the United Kingdom, Jordan, the Czech Republic and dozens more. (examiner)

D’oh!

But it looks good!

The Forthcoming Movie Poster?

I guess the truth was inconvenient for a good cover shot.

But don’t judge a book by it’s cover. 🙂

Lumumba Di Aping of Sudan, who chairs the G77 group of developing nations deriding the U.S. Congress: “You approve billions of dollars in defence budgets: why can’t you approve $200 billion to save the world?” or the Algerian chairman of the African group, Kemal Djemouai, lamenting: “The developed countries found $1.4 trillion to combat the financial crisis. Now they are offering just $10 billion to fight climate change.”

For if it truly IS just about the money, that would mean the entire Copenhagen summit (complete with 140 private jets and hundreds of limousines mind you) is nothing but a global socialistic shakedown of the western democracies.

Shocking! 🙂

Pay particular attention to the paragraph:

An official in the Nigerian delegation which was part of the walkout, said Europe’s lowball offers of financial support were “pathetic. He added: “There will be no commitments from the G77 [bloc of developing countries] until we get better assurances about financial and technology transfers,” reports our colleague Alessandro Torello from Copenhagen.

Low-ball offers?  Financial and technology transfers?

Show me the money baby, show me the money.

That seems to be the real “consensus”, especially in Copenhagen where the only people being arrested are the ones who think the conferencees are not doing enough to cram it down everyone’s throat.

Much like Health Care Reform.

A CNN poll shows 36% of the public in favor of what the Democratic Senate is trying to do to health care, 61% opposed. It is clear what the public wants Congress to do: Take a mulligan and start over.

Fifty-six percent (56%) of U.S. voters now oppose the health care plan proposed by President Obama and congressional Democrats. That’s the highest level of opposition found – reached three times before – in six months of polling.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just 40% of voters favor the health care plan.

Perhaps more significantly, 46% now Strongly Oppose the plan, compared to 19% who Strongly Favor it.

“The most significant detail in the data is that 63% of senior citizens oppose the plan, including 52% who strongly oppose it,” says Scott Rasmussen, president of Rasmussen Reports. “Seniors are significant in this debate both because they use the health care system more than anyone else and because they vote more than younger voters.”

USA Today/Gallup poll finds public support for such efforts still below the majority level. Forty-six percent of Americans say they would advise their member of Congress to vote for healthcare legislation.

In a recent NBC poll, just 32 percent of respondents said they believe the president’s health care plan is a “good idea”; 47 percent said it’s a “bad idea,” the highest that number has been. According to a recent ABC News poll, majorities now for the first time disapprove of Obama’s work on health care (53 percent) and oppose the health care reform package making its way through Congress (51 percent).

In the ABC/Washington Post poll, more than half of those polled, 53 percent, see higher costs for themselves if the proposed changes go into effect than if the current system remains intact.

NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll finds that those believing President Obama’s health-reform plan is a good idea has sunk to its lowest level.

Just 32 percent say it’s a good idea, versus 47 percent who say it’s a bad idea.

In addition, for the first time in the survey, a plurality prefers the status quo to reform. By a 44-41 percent margin, respondents say it would be better to keep the current system than to pass Obama’s health plan.

American voters, by a 55 – 35 percent margin, are more worried that Congress will spend too much money and add to the deficit than it will not act to overhaul the health care system, according to a Quinnipiac University national poll released today. By a similar 57 – 37 percent margin, voters say health care reform should be dropped if it adds “significantly” to the deficit.

By a 72 – 21 percent margin, voters do not believe that President Barack Obama will keep his promise to overhaul the health care system without adding to the deficit, the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University national poll finds.

American voters disapprove 52 – 39 percent of the way President Obama is handling health care, down from 46 – 42 percent approval July 1, with 60 – 34 percent disapproval from independent voters. Voters say 59 – 36 percent that Congress should not pass health care reform if only Democratic members support it.

Voters oppose 68 – 26 percent requiring people to have health insurance or pay a fine and oppose 68 – 27 percent taxing employees for health care benefits from employers.

But yet, they continue on. because the Agenda is the Agenda. Damn the facts and the people, full speed ahead.

After emerging from a closed-door Democrats-only White House meeting with Senate Democrats Tuesday, President Obama said: “We are on the precipice of an achievement that’s eluded Congresses and presidents for generations, an achievement that will touch the lives of nearly every American.”

Reach out and touch everyone, comrade.

Neville Chamberlain in 1938 disembarked from his plane and told the crowd, “This morning, I had another talk with the German chancellor, Herr Hitler, and here is the paper which bears his name upon it, as well as mine.” Forever, he will be remembered for waving his worthless “piece of paper.”

President Bill Clinton a decade ago told the grand jury investigating whether he committed perjury that “it depends on what the meaning of the word ‘is’ is.” Forever, he will be remembered for twisting language into pretzels to avoid the truth.

President Jimmy Carter in his infamous 1979 “Malaise Speech” blamed Americans for a national “crisis of confidence” and “loss of a unity of purpose for our nation.” Carter’s solution: Carpool and “set your thermostats to save fuel. … I tell you it is an act of patriotism.”

Much of what the president said in his Tuesday statement was patently false. With its heavy regulations, the Senate bill, even stripped of its destructive “public option,” won’t mean that “families will save on their premiums.” Independent studies make it clear that premiums will go up by thousands of dollars.

It also isn’t true that “this will be the largest deficit-reduction plan in over a decade” — and to hear such a promise from the biggest-spending president in his first year in office in history is hard to take.

The president claims “the CBO has said that this is a deficit reduction.” But as Sen. Robert Bennett, R-Utah, who sits on both the appropriations and banking committees, recently told Fox News’ Neil Cavuto, the definition of “deficit-neutral” that Democrats have been using “means it’s going to cost you over $1 trillion, and we are going to find $1 trillion either in Medicare cuts or increased taxes, so that we end up with the same number at the bottom line.”

Speaking of the Congressional Budget Office, after candidate Obama last year promised a $2,500 annual reduction in health premiums annually for average families, the CBO has warned of premium increases of about $5,000 a year.

“Precipice” is right, Mr. President. But with public support at 41% according to IBD/TIPP and 35% according to Gallup — not to mention two-thirds of doctors opposed to Congress’ plan, as IBD/TIPP also found — most Americans clearly don’t want to take a plunge like this.(IBD)

And if they challenge you, just ignore them, call security, have them removed, just go to people who will kiss your ass and not challenge you, or simply just ignore them all together.

After all, they don’t matter.

You’re way more important and so is your Agenda.

That's a Big Bird.

Sleep tight, don’t let the tax bugs bite… 🙂

Don Corleoni Obama

Today, Don Barack Obama Corleoni, of the Chicago Community Organizer Mob is calling the 60 Democrats into his House to “discuss” the Health Care Bills passage.

Changing it just a bit:  “I’m gonna make them an offer they can’t refuse.” said Don Obama,” “Staff held a gun to their heads and Speaker assured them that either their brains, or their signatures, would be on the contract. That’s a true story. That’s my family, Harry, it’s not me.”

🙂

Should we be checking the Potomac to see if anyone is Swimming with The Fishes tomorrow?

Or maybe we can ask Jimmy Hoffa?

🙂

Bet the Ministry of Truth will try and hide this as much as possible:

IBD: Department of Health and Human Services’ Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services that says health “reform” will mean the opposite of its advertised promises.

Reform was supposed to be about reducing ever-increasing costs. But HHS says that under the bill now being steamrolled through Congress, total health costs over the next decade (now estimated at $2.5 trillion) “would increase by about 0.7%” over what would take place if we made no changes at all.

Well, someone’s bonuses are going to be politically incorrect coal in the stocking.

And the plan to “save” nearly $500 billion in Medicare costs that Democratic leaders ask us all not to worry about? The result would be cuts in services as providers and physicians who take Medicare patients “could find it difficult to remain profitable and, absent legislative intervention, might end their participation in the program (possibly jeopardizing access to care for beneficiaries).”

According to HHS, because “individuals with health problems or who anticipate a greater risk of functional limitation would be more likely to participate than those in better-than-average health,” premiums would rise and rise, causing an “insurance death spiral” and making the program “unsustainable.”

Actually, after Congress and the president get through wrecking the finest health care system in the world, there would remain “an estimated 24 million” Americans still without health insurance 10 years from now.

So how’s that MANDATORY insurance working?

The IRS will jail you if you don’t pay?

And are half of those the ILLEGAL ALIENS? 🙂

Hope and Change!

From the Circus in Copenhagen:

A source close to Britain’s negotiating team  said Britain would continue to press publicly for a deal in line with the IPCC’s recommendation, but acknowledged that the targets emerging from the summit would need to be reconsidered at a later date.

How does the careful parsing of the Times’ source piece translate? “To acknowledge the mighty pressure — to at least appear to be ‘signing something’ — the industrialized nations might agree to a set of admission standards that can’t realistically be met with the intent to review standards in six years”?

The Times says that (Former Prime Minister) Blair admits that recent developments of leaked e-mails from the leading climate change research institution in the world have caused doubt about when world temperatures might be rising and by how much: “When you come to very precise dates, percentages and so on … then the figures are somewhat more fudgeable.” (AT)

When an overblown environmental conference culminates with Zimbabwe’s Robert Mugabe, Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez and Iran’s Mahmoud Ahmadinejad lecturing the West on virtue, color it another shakedown.

The United Nations’ Copenhagen Climate Conference is going fast into meltdown. It may be because it’s not about climate anymore, but fitting a noose on the world’s productive economies and extracting wealth transfers.

Poor countries have gone from defending their right to economic development as a reason for exemptions to emissions cuts to claiming a “legitimate” right to vast wealth transfers from the West to prevent emissions. They call it “climate justice.”
Leaders of fifty African nations came to Copenhagen asking $400 billion for the next three years to “offset” carbon credit “damages” which they claim to suffer. Inexplicably, two days ago, that demand was increased to an eye-goggling 5% of GDP (gross domestic product), estimated at $722 billion from the United States alone. There never was a response from the industrialized world.
(IBD)

I can’t wait for the starving Ethiopian Kids again. (not to be thought heartless, do you know what happened to all that food the last time? Look it up, it wasn’t pretty.)

The shameful thing about the London Times story is that if it is true, the liberal American news media have either missed or studiously ignored the story of the century: “global warming fraud” and the aborted attempt to craft a worldwide, economy-busting treaty based on fake science.(AT)

Time for Don Barack Obama Corleoni to jet his carbon-footprint self again (His 3rd trip to Scandinavia this year) over there and whip them boys back into shape Chicago-Style. 🙂

THE RECESSION IS OVER

“Today everybody agrees that the recession is over. The questions are around how fast we’ll recover.”Director of the White House’s National Economic Council on CNN’s State of the Union.

Didn’t they proclaim it over already once before? and did someone miss the memo:

Take his colleague, Council of Economic Advisors Chairwoman Christina Romer. On NBC’s Meet the Press, she offered a very different definition of recovery: “You’re not recovered until all those people that want to work are back to work.”

David Gregory wanted to be clear: “So in your mind, this recession is not over.” “Of course not,” replied Romer. “The people on Main Street and throughout this country, they are still suffering. The unemployment rate is still 10 percent.”

State of the Union host John King,”To be fair, Summers was speaking from a technical perspective; Romer more from the views of an American who still lacked a job despite some more encouraging recent economic data.”

Good spin cover. Nice “Journalism” there, dude.

True. But which advisor will Obama be listening to as he heads into a midterm election in which his poll numbers are dropping while unemployment numbers continue to rise? (Huffington Post)

And this the White House that is absolutely sure that spending Trillions of dollars on health care “reform” will lower the deficit.

Sure, whatever…

“What’s a bit ironic to me is they were able to figure out how to help the big banks without any summit,” Rep. Marcy Kaptur, co-chairman of the Jobs Now! Caucus, told the Washington Post. “But now that they are talking about helping people, it is a year later and they need a summit. What is that all about?”

And they exclude some of the biggest groups, like the US Chamber of Commerce. from the summit because they had been critical of Obama.

What a way to run a railroad. Right off into the ditch. But don’t worry, it’s still the Republicans fault!

The White House thinks it can jawbone banks into lending to people they don’t want to lend to. We’ve been down this road before, and it led all the way to the 2007 financial meltdown.

Fannie & Freddie and “affordable” housing mortgage rates anyone??

Besides, as economist Thomas Sowell noted in a recent series in IBD, our current economic ills are largely due to just the kind of government meddling we now see in the financial markets.

So maybe we need something other than Chicago Style, less deep dish economics and more of a  thin crust tradition.

We have come for your Children!

More scary fun from the True Believers. Global Warming. Population Control and Orwell.

Two weeks before that Holiday that can not be named because it’s insensitive and politically incorrect.

“It’s a principle. It’s like gravity. it exists.”, “it’s a principle in physics”.-The Lord of Doom Al Gore on Global Warming.

Well, we have the new McCarthyism: Are you now or have you ever been a Global Warming/Climate Change Denier?

WSJ: The Met Office, Britain’s national weather service, “has embarked on an urgent exercise to bolster the reputation of climate-change science” in the wake of a whistle-blower’s revelation of widespread misconduct by climate scientists…

London’s Times reports: John Hirst, the Met Office chief executive, and Julia Slingo, its chief scientist, wrote to 70 colleagues on Sunday asking them to sign “to defend our profession against this unprecedented attack to discredit us and the science of climate change”. They asked them to forward the petition to colleagues to generate support “for a simple statement that we . . . have the utmost confidence in the science base that underpins the evidence for global warming”.

More than 1,700 scientists have agreed to sign a statement defending the “professional integrity” of global warming research. They were responding to a round-robin request from the Met Office, which has spent four days collecting signatures. . . .

WSJ: The problem with the petition as a form is also a problem with the Met Office petition’s substance. The purpose of the petition is to shore up scientists’ authority by vouching for their integrity. But signing a loyalty oath under pressure from the government is itself a corrupt act. Anyone who signs this petition thereby raises doubts about his own integrity. And once again, the question arises: Why should any layman regard global warmism as credible when the “consensus” rests on political machinations, statistical tricks and efforts to suppress alternative hypotheses?

Would anyone who would sign this silly thing be credible?

Science by petition.

Can we pass around a petition to declare the earth flat?

One scientist told The Times he felt under pressure to sign. “The Met Office is a major employer of scientists and has long had a policy of only appointing and working with those who subscribe to their views on man-made global warming,” he said.

The concept of scientists–or journalists, or artists–signing a petition is ludicrous. The idea is that they are lending their authority to whatever cause the petition represents–but in fact they are undermining that authority, which is based on the presumption that they think for themselves.

So on the back of this, more fun news from the Copenhagen Circus:

IBD:  Calls for forced population control as a means to conquer global warming are in the news this week. We knew the Copenhagen climate conference would keep drawing out the cranks.

‘Humans are overpopulating the world,” Diane Francis, a staff writer for Canada’s National Post, said in Tuesday’s edition.

“A planetary law, such as China’s one-child policy, is the only way to reverse the disastrous global birthrate currently, which is one million births every four days.”

Zhao Baige, a member of the China delegation at Copenhagen, holds a similar view, according to a report from China Daily.

“Dealing with climate change is not simply an issue of CO2 emission reduction but a comprehensive challenge involving political, economic, social, cultural and ecological issues, and the population concern fits right into the picture,” Zhao, vice minister of the National Population and Family Planning Commission of China, said from the conference.

Remember, CO2 is a toxin harmful to human life according to the EPA and it must be controlled!

So, one way to do that is to control how many people are around.

And amongst the tools in this shed is control of your birth, or prohibited lack of one, that is.

And if the government is control of Health Care, well…

“Death Panels” anyone?

Forced Sterlization. Force Abortions (Health Care anyone?).

Forced abortions. Mass sterilization. A “Planetary Regime” with the power of life and death over American citizens.

The tyrannical fantasies of a madman? Or merely the opinions of the person now in control of science policy in the United States? Or both?

These ideas (among many other equally horrifying recommendations) were put forth by John Holdren, whom Barack Obama has recently appointed Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, Assistant to the President for Science and Technology, and Co-Chair of the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology — informally known as the United States’ Science Czar. In a book Holdren co-authored in 1977,Ecoscience ,the man now firmly in control of science policy in this country wrote that:

• Women could be forced to abort their pregnancies, whether they wanted to or not;
• The population at large could be sterilized by infertility drugs intentionally put into the nation’s drinking water or in food;
• Single mothers and teen mothers should have their babies seized from them against their will and given away to other couples to raise;
• People who “contribute to social deterioration” (i.e. undesirables) “can be required by law to exercise reproductive responsibility” — in other words, be compelled to have abortions or be sterilized.
• A transnational “Planetary Regime” should assume control of the global economy and also dictate the most intimate details of Americans’ lives — using an armed international police force.

Impossible, you say? That must be an exaggeration or a hoax. No one in their right mind would say such things.

The EPA’s “command and control” threats. A very Maoist Science Czar, and Climategate showing scientist manipulating data for their own agenda.

To control you. To control everyone and everything you do. From the moment of birth to the moment of death.

Think I’m a little to conspiratorial:

Alternet: Half-baked Homeland Security is spending millions to develop sensors capable of detecting a
person’s level of ‘malintent’ as a counterterrorism tool.

Malintent, being detecting whether you’re in a bad mood or angry so you might be a terrorist!

Or at the very least someone who is not in tune with Big Brother.

This jewel of an idea was dream up by the Peter Principle’s star pupil, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napalitano.

This past February, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) awarded a one-year, $2.6  million grant to the Cambridge, MA.-based Charles Stark Draper Laboratory to develop computerized sensors capable of detecting a person’s level of “malintent” — or intention to  do harm. It’s only the most recent of numerous contracts awarded to Draper and assorted  research outfits by the U.S. government over the past few years under the auspices of a
project called “Future Attribute Screening Technologies,” or FAST. It’s the next wave of  behavior surveillance from DHS and taxpayers have paid some $20 million on it so far.

It’s part of a broader “initiative to develop innovative, non-invasive technologies to screen people at security checkpoints,” according to DHS.

But how long before it comes to TV or a Mall or street or anything where a sensor can be placed?

So when you’re angry because you’re late for your flight, be zen or else you could be a terrorist and be even later. 🙂

So smile, be happy. OR ELSE! 🙂

Orwell’s 1984 excerpt:  The telescreen received and transmitted simultaneously. Any sound that Winston made, above the level of a very low whisper, would be picked up by it, moreover, so long as he remained within the field of vision which the metal plaque commanded, he could be seen as well as heard. There was of course no way of knowing whether you were being watched at any given moment. How often, or on what system, the Thought Police plugged in on any individual wire was guesswork. It was even conceivable that they watched everybody all the time. But at any rate they could plug in your wire whenever they wanted to. You had to live — did live, from habit that became instinct — in the assumption that every sound you made was overheard, and, except in darkness, every movement scrutinized.

Back to Population Control: Those who support population control are not enlightened thinkers, though they hold themselves to be. Quite often, “progressive” population control proponents have been racists who would use eugenics to ensure that “deficient” humans don’t dilute the gene pool.

Hitler, Mao,  Stalin, etc. Anyone?

Or maybe People who “contribute to social deterioration” as Science Czar John Holdren said in his co-authored book.

And if you’re angry, and you breathe too much CO2, and drive too big a car, and use too much electricity, or cost too much for Health Care, or have too many children…well, we’ll just have do something about you…. 🙂

You say, I’m going too far?

I say, why?

If you’re a true believer in the Religion of Liberalism, and/or Global Warming, why wouldn’t you want to control everyone and everything for their own good and won’t it make you feel so much better that you are doing something to save the planet! 🙂

The ends justify the means!

I say, I probably can’t even conceive the heights of totalitarianism that the true believers could come up with.

The Chinese delegate also cited the UN’s own 2009 State of World Population report, which suggests that if the global population remains at 8 billion by the year 2050 instead of increasing to just over 9 billion, as projected, “it might result in 1 billion to 2 billion fewer tons of carbon emissions”.

Of course, the fact that somewhere in the region of twenty-five million men in China are unable to find brides because so many girls are murdered shortly after birth was somewhat glossed over by the Chinese delegate:

“I’m not saying that what we have done is 100 percent right, but I’m sure we are going in the right direction and now 1.3 billion people have benefited,” she said.

And China has done it largely by education. And who’s largely in charge of the US educational system, Liberals. True Believers.

Remember this:

A suggested lesson plan that calls on students to write letters to themselves about what they can do to help President Obama following his address to students nationwide is troubling and establishes the president as a “superintendent in chief,” education experts told FOXNews.com.

Video of the students at the Burlington, N.J., school shows them singing songs seemingly overflowing with campaign slogans and praise for “Barack Hussein Obama,” repeatedly chanting the president’s name and celebrating his accomplishments, including his “great plans” to “make this country’s economy No. 1 again.”

One song that the children were taught quotes directly from the spiritual “Jesus Loves the Little Children,” though Jesus’ name is replaced with Obama’s: “He said red, yellow, black or white/All are equal in his sight. Barack Hussein Obama.”‘

Ms. Carney-Nunes , award-winning Children’s author, invited to the school to teach the children the song and about her book, “I am Barack Obama?” and we got the the “mmmmm…Barack Hussein Obama…” chant.

And so, when those of us who study history see videos like the one below, it chills us to the bone. It is decidedly reminiscent of the indoctrination techniques that took place in 1930s Germany.

Nervous yet?

“China has had the most successful family planning policy in the history of mankind in terms of quantity and with that, China has done mankind a favour,” United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) representative Sven Burmester said last week. —10/11/99 Agence France-Presse.

Under the Reagan Administration legislation sponsored by then-Rep. Jack Kemp (NY) and then-Sen. Bob Kasten (WI) ensured funding to the UNPFA was cut off for these very reasons. Yet is was no surprise when In 1993, the Clinton Administration dramatically revised the official interpretation of the “Kemp-Kasten amendment” in order to facilitate U.S. funding of UNFPA, thus making available $14.5 million.

The connection is an appealing one to advocates of the anthropological global warming theory because, if you believe humans are to blame for dangerous alterations in the climate, eventually the conclusion of less humans = less warming is reached.

Nervous yet?

But within them is a deep-seated loathing for their own kind because they see man as just another of Earth’s many animal species. Human life, for these people, is cheap.

Animals must be controlled. They must be trained to obey their Masters.

Stop Breathing! Save the Planet

You’re a Toxic Polluter!

So stop Breathing out that toxic gas! You insensitive pig you! 🙂

Time.com: Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lisa Jackson announced that the agency had finalized its finding that greenhouse gases, including carbon dioxide, pose a threat to human health and welfare.

Carbon dioxide is normally found as a gas that is breathed out by animals (and people like you and me) and absorbed by green plants. The plants, in turn, return oxygen to the atmosphere.

So I wonder if they sue us for having to clean up our toxic waste??

Obama’s “regulation czar” Professor Cass Sunstein wants animals to be able to sue. “Any animals that are entitled to bring suit would be represented by (human) counsel, who would owe guardian-like obligations and make decisions, subject to those obligations, on their clients’ behalf,” according to Sunstein. The Harvard legal scholar first proposed the argument in 2002.

So maybe Mr. Ed can be the lawyer in class action suit for the Amazon Rain Forest or the tree down the street. 🙂

The ruling allows the EPA to begin regulating greenhouse gas emissions from power plants, factories major industrial polluters, although the precise details of that regulation have yet to be worked out. “The threat is real,” said Jackson. “If we don’t act to reduce greenhouse gas emissions the planet we will leave to the future will be a very different than the one we know today.”

So stop Breathing!

“This cements 2009’s place in history as the year the U.S. government began seriously addressing the challenge of greenhouse gas pollution,” said Jackson.

Have faith True Believers!

Not that the liberals and Global Warming Alarmists won’t suffocate you and your job with massive new luddite regulations that will destroy this country and possible the world economy with it.

It will give liberals hope and and make them feel good.

That road to hell is a 10-lane superhighway under construction.

Jackson said she did not have a time table for when the agency would publish a detailed plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and both Jackson and Obama have said repeatedly that they would prefer legislative action — in the form of a carbon cap-and-trade bill — over top-down regulation.

Do it my way or the superhighway. 🙂

“An endangerment finding from the EPA could result in a top-down command-and-control regime that will choke off growth by adding new mandates to virtually every major construction and renovation project,” said U.S. Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Thomas J. Donohue.

The Chamber was one of the groups not invited to Obama’s  “Jobs Summit” by the way.

Such a command-and-control regime is a long way off, and may never happen — especially if cap-and-trade is finally passed. But with the most important environmental summit in history just kicking off, the EPA’s news couldn’t come at a better time for greens.

Did someone’s Orwellian doublethink go off, cap and trade is  a command and control regime. But if we have that command and control regime it will be better than the EPA’s….gives you the warm fuzzies (or as Chris Matthews said about Obama- “it gives me a tingle up my leg”).

Feel the tingle.

And stop Breathing out that toxic pollutant!!

“There is nothing in the hacked e-mails that undermines the science upon which this decision is based,” Jackson said in announcing the finding this afternoon. She said the controversial messages dealt only with a tiny fraction of the strong evidence of global warming.

Does this robotic response sound vague familiar to every other Religionist asked this question. A Hive mind perhaps? or just good Orwellian programming so that a thoughtcrime doesn’t escape?

The Hill Comment section: Mathematically, it’s this simple: CO2 2009 = Y2K.

Dr. Peter Venkman: This city is headed for a disaster of biblical proportions.
Mayor: What do you mean, “biblical”?
Dr Ray Stantz: What he means is Old Testament, Mr. Mayor, real wrath of God type stuff.
Dr. Peter Venkman: Exactly.
Dr Ray Stantz: Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies! Rivers and seas boiling!
Dr. Egon Spengler: Forty years of darkness! Earthquakes, volcanoes…
Winston Zeddemore: The dead rising from the grave!
Dr. Peter Venkman: Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together… mass hysteria!

Now there are scientists you can believe in. 🙂

AFP: Opening ceremonies began with a short film featuring children of the future facing an apocalypse of tempests and desert landscapes if world leaders failed to act today.

“There will be hundreds of millions of refugees,” Rajendra Pachauri, head of the UN’s panel of climate scientists, said in the film.

“Please help save the world,” said a little girl, plaintively.

Now that’s just child abuse.

Danish Prime Minister Lars Loekke Rasmussen told opening ceremonies that the world is looking to the conference to safeguard humanity.

“The world is depositing hope with you for a short while in the history of humanity,” Rasmussen said.

He that lives upon hope will die fasting.- Ben Franklin

And boy will be fasting very soon at this rate.

So Obama is going to go to Copenhagen and sign away our remaining industrial capacity and destroy the infrastructure of a modern 21st century economy.

And if Cap and Trade is not passed, he will have his Religionists at the EPA do it for him.

Ah, the joys of a democracy. 🙂

Rasmussen:  41% of U.S. voters favor the health care plan proposed by the president and congressional Democrats. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 51% oppose the plan. And as has been the case for months, the emotion’s on the sign of the naysayers: 40% Strongly Oppose the plan, while just 23% Strongly favor it.

Only 30% of U.S. voters now say the country is heading in the right direction, according to the latest Rasmussen Reports national survey. That’s the lowest finding on this question since mid-February but is still 13 points higher than a year ago.

71% Say Creating Jobs More Important Than Stopping Global Warming

Most Americans (52%) believe that there continues to be significant disagreement within the scientific community over global warming, despite repeated assertions by the White House and others that there is a scientific consensus on the subject.

CNN: According to the survey, roughly a third of the people who believe in global warming think it is due to natural causes, rather than manmade causes such as industrial emissions. As a result, the number who say that global warming is caused by humans has dropped from 54 percent last summer to 45 percent now.

Rasmussen: The fact that the president and other top national leaders continue to pursue agendas at odds with what most Americans view as important helps explain why 71% of voters nationwide say they’re at least somewhat angry about the current policies of the federal government. That figure includes 46% who are Very Angry.

The White House on Monday dismissed as “silly” the notion that global warming science had been compromised by emails exposing a row between top climate scientists. (afp)

Actually what Robert Gibbs, White House Press Secretary said was : “I think scientists are clear on the science. I think many on Capitol Hill are clear on the science. I think that this notion that there is some debate … on the science is kind of silly.”

The Agenda is the Agenda and nothing will stop The Agenda.

Not even “silly” facts like lying , falsification of data, or suppression of opposition.

That’s just “silly”. 🙂

Washington Post: Even proponents of action on climate change, such as Democratic pollster Mark Mellman, who has conducted polls on the issue for the American Security Project and the Pew Charitable Trusts, say they have detected a recent fraying of bipartisanship.

“It’s a sad state of affairs when science becomes subject to partisan politics,” Mellman said. “It can only be attributed to the sense that this issue has become part of a political battle.”

And who did that? Our “bi-partisan” Congress ,President, and Too-smart-for-any-room Liberals perhaps? 🙂

Everything to a Liberal is politics. Everything.

Period.

Discover: Pew Research Center for the People & the Press found that only 57 percent believe there is strong scientific evidence that the Earth has gotten warmer over the past few decades, and as a result, people are viewing the problem as less serious. That’s down from 77 percent in 2006.

Jon Krosnick of Stanford University, who has been conducting surveys on attitudes about global warming since 1993 was surprised by the Pew results.

He described the decline in the Pew results as “implausible,” saying there is nothing that could have caused it.

Clueless aren’t they? So incapable of escaping their Orwellian Thoughtcrime Box that they can’t see any trees in the forest.

And that’s your “consensus” for you…

The only consensus they actually reached is that their right and your wrong and nothing in the universe could possibly change that.

As a Newsweek columnist put it:  But the scientists (who believe in global warming in regards to Climategate) should be bigger than the know-nothings.

” I don’t know where these people got their scientific education, but where I come from, if your theory can’t predict or explain the observed facts, it’s wrong.” (Der Spiegel)

It’s a basic rule of science that you don’t just get to report your results and ask other people to take you on faith. You also have to report your data and your specific method of analysis, so that others can check it and, yes, even criticize it. (RCP)

Unless, you’re liberal superhero, here to save mankind!

Have Faith!

Even the Kryptonite of the Truth is not enough to stop them!

To them anything and everything they do is beyond reproach and so what if they’re lying, cheating,  or ignoring facts, the end justifies the means.

The picture that emerges is simple. In any discussion of global warming, either in the scientific literature or in the mainstream media, the outcome is always predetermined. Just as the temperature graphs produced by the CRU (or NASA et al)are always tricked out to show an upward-sloping “hockey stick,” every discussion of global warming has to show that it is occurring and that humans are responsible. And any data or any scientific paper that tends to disprove that conclusion is smeared as “unscientific” precisely because it threatens the established dogma.(RCP)

So stop breathing you know-nothing toxic gas producing silly saboteur of the Holy Mission of The Religion of Global Warming! They just want to save you from yourself!

Now don’t you feel better.

Clinton said he didn’t inhale, Obama says don’t exhale.

It endangers all mankind.

So save the human race and don’t exhale.

The Conference of Doom Begins Today

Many of you are too young to remember, but in 1975 our government pushed “the coming ice age.”

Random House dutifully printed “THE WEATHER CONSPIRACY … coming of the New Ice Age.” This may be the only book ever written by 18 authors. All 18 lived just a short sled ride from Washington, D.C. Newsweek fell in line and did a cover issue warning us of global cooling on April 28, 1975. And The New York Times, Aug. 14, 1976, reported “many signs that Earth may be headed for another ice age.”

In 1974, the National Science Board announced: “During the last 20 to 30 years, world temperature has fallen, irregularly at first but more sharply over the last decade. Judging from the record of the past interglacial ages, the present time of high temperatures should be drawing to an end…leading into the next ice age.”

Science’s prediction of “A full-blown, 10,000 year ice age,” came from its March 1, 1975 issue. The Christian Science Monitor observed that armadillos were retreating south from Nebraska to escape the “global cooling” in its Aug. 27, 1974 issue.

Now we have Polar Bear on “diminishing” ice flows in the Artic.

Ahhh….

Does this all look vaguely like, well it global warming has dropped but in the future it will be an apocalypse! 🙂

UK Telegraph 4/30/2008:  Global warming will stop until at least 2015 because of natural variations in the climate, scientists have said.

Noel Keenlyside of the Leibniz Institute of Marine Sciences, Kiel, Germany, said: “The IPCC would predict a 0.3°C warming over the next decade. Our prediction is that there will be no warming until 2015 but it will pick up after that.”

And as all Global warming Religionist know the IPCC is never EVER wrong.

So as it snows on Houston, the earliest on record, just remember Global Warming is going to Kill us all!

The Conference of Doom starts today in Copenhagen.

Will this day also, live in infamy! 🙂

There is truly something rotten in Denmark. 🙂

UK Telegraph: Ms Jorgensen reckons that between her and her rivals the total number of limos in Copenhagen next week has already broken the 1,200 barrier. The French alone rang up on Thursday and ordered another 42. “We haven’t got enough limos in the country to fulfil the demand,” she says. “We’re having to drive them in hundreds of miles from Germany and Sweden.”

And the total number of electric cars or hybrids among that number? “Five,” says Ms Jorgensen. “The government has some alternative fuel cars but the rest will be petrol or diesel. We don’t have any hybrids in Denmark, unfortunately, due to the extreme taxes on those cars. It makes no sense at all, but it’s very Danish.”

The airport says it is expecting up to 140 extra private jets during the peak period alone, so far over its capacity that the planes will have to fly off to regional airports – or to Sweden – to park, returning to Copenhagen to pick up their VIP passengers.

The top hotels – all fully booked at £650 a night – are readying their Climate Convention menus of (no doubt sustainable) scallops, foie gras and sculpted caviar wedges.

According to the organisers, the eleven-day conference, including the participants’ travel, will create a total of 41,000 tonnes of “carbon dioxide equivalent”, equal to the amount produced over the same period by a city the size of Middlesbrough.

But nothing but the best for those concerned with the Doom of all mankind and want to shut down the Industrial Revolution as really bad for the planet! 🙂

I suppose Al Gore’s “Carbon credits” business will be busy with guilty Doomsayers for the next 11 days.

NY Post: Some 40,000 tons of carbon will be spewed getting this crowd together and keeping them in comfort. That is the amount of carbon dioxide produced by more than 60 of the world’s smaller countries in an entire year — combined.

Instead of swift and modest reductions in carbon – say, two per cent a year, starting next year – for which they could possibly be held accountable, the politicians will bandy around grandiose targets of 80-per-cent-plus by 2050, by which time few of the leaders at Copenhagen will even be alive, let alone still in office.

But damn! It will sound good! It’ll sound like they care.

Can some on pass me the Wagyu beef with white truffles, darling… 🙂

“If we fail, one reason could be our overconfidence,” said Simron Jit Singh, of the Institute of Social Ecology. “Because we are here, talking in a group of people who probably agree with each other, we can be blinded to the challenges of the other side. We feel that we are the good guys, the selfless saviours, and they are the bad guys.

Bingo! That wins the man a Booby prize, which in Copenhagen is probably just a few doors down.:)

As Mr Singh suggests, the interesting question is perhaps not whether the climate changers have got the science right – they probably have – but whether they have got the pitch right. Some campaigners’ apocalyptic predictions and religious righteousness – funeral ceremonies for economic growth and the like – can be alienating, and may help explain why the wider public does not seem to share the urgency felt by those in Copenhagen this week.

Anyone seen Lord Doom?  He canceled? Really. A chance to be a media whore in front of adoring fans and hock is new Doomsday Book??  Coming to a Theatre near you 🙂

And the Great Savior of Mankind, Barack Obama is not jetting in until is nearly over. Something about a Peace Prize (just after he escalated Obama’s War in Afghanistan).

In a rather perceptive recent comment, Mr Miliband (who called those who disagree with him and his ilk saboteurs just days ago) said it was vital to give people a positive vision of a low-carbon future. “If Martin Luther King had come along and said ‘I have a nightmare,’ people would not have followed him,” he said.

Let’s all have a PR pitty party form the Doomsayers.

But do you think they’ve really learned anything.

No.

That would be a break with their faith.

So they have 11 days to work on a new spin.

That’s all.

And the Danes are happy to participate.

NY Post: That’s because the last great world climate treaty, Kyoto, does not make them include their nasty shipping business in the calculation. No wonder the Danes liked that so much.

AP: “I think a lot of people are skeptical about this issue in any case,” Yvo de Boer (The U.N.’s top climate official) said. “And then when they have the feeling … that scientists are manipulating information in a certain direction then of course it causes concern in a number of people to say ‘you see I told you so, this is not a real issue.'”

Ya Think? 🙂

Because there’s a “consensus” that says debate is over. So how can anyone possibly be skeptical? 🙂

“This correspondence looks very bad,” de Boer said. “But I think both the university is looking into this (and) I believe there is a police investigation going on whether the e-mails were leaked or stolen.

Not whether they are true or not or what they actually say, mind you.

U.S. climate negotiator Jonathan Pershing (Deputy Special Envoy for Climate Change) called the science on global warming “very robust, very substantial.” He told the AP that the controversy surrounding the leaked e-mails came at an “unfortunate” time, just before the long-awaited U.N. talks, “but has no fundamental bearing on the outcome.

His faith in Man-Made Doom is Strong, young Barack!

UK Telepgraph 4/30/2008: Writing in Nature, the scientists said: “Our results suggest that global surface temperature may not increase over the next decade, as natural climate variations in the North Atlantic and tropical Pacific temporarily offset the projected anthropogenic [manmade] warming.”

The study shows a more pronounced weakening effect than the Met Office’s Hadley Centre, which last year predicted that global warming would slow until 2009 and pick up after that, with half the years after 2009 being warmer than the warmest year on record, 1998.

Commenting on the new study, Richard Wood of the Hadley Centre said the model suggested the weakening of the MOC would have a cooling effect around the North Atlantic.

“Such a cooling could temporarily offset the longer-term warming trend from increasing levels of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.

“That emphasizes once again the need to consider climate variability and climate change together when making predictions over timescales of decades.”

But that would question the faith.

Our Friend Ed Millibrand, UK Environment  Secretary on the BBC less than 24 hours ago:

“The people who believe that this is happening, that climate change is happening and man-made, have nothing to fear from transparency.”

Obama: “Information will not be withheld just because I say so; it will be withheld because a separate authority believes my request is well-grounded in the Constitution. Let me say it as simply as I can: transparency and the rule of law will be the touchstones of this presidency,

So how’s that working out? 🙂

Global Cooling. (1975)

Global Warming. (also coined in 1975) 🙂

Global Climate Change? (created because it kept  embarrassingly snowing on Global Warming Conferences) 🙂

Anthropogenic climate change (2000)

What Orwellian term will the Conference of Doom come up with?

Stay Tuned.

I’m a Flat-Earther and Proud of it!

I just had to point this out. The childishness of it made me chuckle.

Embattled British Prime Minister, George Brown (UK Telegraph): People who doubt that human activity contributes to global warming are “flat-earthers” and “anti-science”, Gordon Brown has said.He said: “With only days to go before Copenhagen we mustn’t be distracted by the behind-the-times, anti-science, flat-earth climate sceptics. We know the science. We know what we must do.”

Now that’s a persuasive argument! 🙂

It has also been disclosed that the Government’s chief scientist, John Beddington, was forced to defend controversial claims in the television campaign, which features a father reading his daughter a frightening bedtime story about global warming.

Clearcast, the body that vets adverts, questioned the scientific evidence used in the campaign. Part of its role is to ensure controversial topics are kept impartial

Dr Beddington and Robert Watson, the energy department’s main scientific adviser, responded to Clearcast with a furious letter leaked to Channel 4 news, which states: “We are both surprised and disturbed that the premise of the television campaign is being questioned, given the incontrovertible nature of the science that underpins the campaign material.”

Jane Lubchenco, who heads the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. “Regardless of what happened in one place, it doesn’t undermine the totality of what we know.” (Washington Post)

The religion roles on.

Ed Millibrand, Environmental Secretary: “The approach of the climate saboteurs is to misuse data and mislead people. The sceptics are playing politics with science in a dangerous and deceitful manner. There is no easy way out of tackling climate change despite what they would have us believe. The evidence is clear and the time we have to act is short. To abandon this process now would lead to misery and catastrophe for millions.”

So now the truth is “sabotage” and anyone who disagrees is a saboteur. I guess I will have to add that one to my list of childish liberal ad hominems.

Ed Markey, chairman, House Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming (D-MA): “We can no longer allow our climate and energy policy to be hijacked by the government of Saudi Arabia, ExxonMobil, and the defenders of the fossil fuel status quo,” he said.

Oh, really Senator? How about hijacked by Global Warming Religionists and Profiteers from the “Carbon Credits” scam like Al Gore?

I’m guess ExxonMobil is not on your Campaign gift lift then….:)

UK Guardian: Nick Clegg, the Lib Dem leader, said it would be disastrous for the planet if sceptics were able to undermine support for a climate change deal. “Ideological dinosaurs, whether in Saudi Arabia or in the Conservative party, who deny climate change must not be allowed to hide behind some leaked correspondence to support their outdated theories,” Clegg said.

Then There’s NASA: (IBD) Chris Horner, a senior fellow at the Competitive Enterprise Institute, has threatened a lawsuit against NASA if by year-end the agency doesn’t honor his FOI requests for information on how and why its climate numbers have been consistently adjusted for errors.

“I assume that what is there is highly damaging,” says Horner, who suspects, based on the public record, the same type of data fudging, manipulation and suppression that has occurred at Britain’s East Anglia Climate Research Unit. “These guys (NASA) are quite clearly determined not to reveal their internal discussions about this.”

They may have good reason. NASA was caught with its thermometers down when James Hansen, head of NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies, announced that 1998 was the country’s hottest year on record, with 2006 the third hottest.

NASA and Goddard were forced to correct the record in 2007 to show that 1934, decades before the advent of the SUV, was in fact the warmest. In fact, the new numbers showed that four of the country’s 10 warmest years were in the 1930s.

Hansen, who began the climate scare some two decades ago, was caught fudging the numbers again in declaring October 2008 the warmest on record. This despite the fact that the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration had registered 63 local snowfall records and 115 lowest-ever temperatures for the month, and ranked it as only the 70th-warmest October in 114 years.

Scores of temperature records from Russia and elsewhere were not based on that October’s readings at all. Figures from the previous month had simply been carried over and repeated two months running. Was Hansen, like his CRU counterpart Michael Mann, trying to “hide the decline” in temperatures?

Goddard now says it got the data from another body and didn’t have the resources to verify them. There’s a phrase for this: garbage in, garbage out. Goddard’s figures are one of the four data sets used by the U.N.’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change to come up with its doomsday scenarios. Britain’s CRU is another.

Hansen has said in the past that “heads of major fossil-fuel companies who spread disinformation about global warming should be tried for high crimes against humanity and nature.” What penalties would he recommend for himself and his CRU colleagues?

London Times: Hansen has clearly led a sheltered life when it comes to politics and history. He argues that dealing with climate change is like dealing with slavery — and that Copenhagen is our last chance to tackle global warming. “On those kinds of issues, you can’t compromise,” he says. “You can’t say, ‘Let’s reduce slavery, let’s find a compromise and reduce it 50% or reduce it 40%’.”

Now that’s REAL Science for you! 🙂

IBD: We recall the unguarded admission of climate alarmist Steven Schneider of Stanford, printed in Discover in 1989: “To capture the public imagination, we have to offer up scary scenarios, make simplified dramatic statements and make little mention of any doubts we may have. Each of us has to decide what the right balance is between being effective and being honest.”

The warm-mongers at CRU and NASA may be neither. Let’s open their books to find how well they may have been cooked.

Over Cooked I suspect. 🙂

There is little to deter former U.S. Vice President Al Gore from projecting his belief that humanity is doomed if something is not done urgently to tackle the global warming challenge – a catastrophe that Mr. Gore sees as one that has been caused by mankind. The specter of any “climategate” investigations is a mere sideshow in Al Gore’s eyes, as the scientific debate – Gore believes – has been concluded.

The Lord of Doom speaks: “Even a final treaty will have to set the stage for other tougher reductions at a later date,” Gore told The Times. “We have already overshot the safe levels of CO2 in the atmosphere.”

Stick you head between your legs and kiss your ass goodbye, The Lord of Doom has proclaimed it!

While the audience of environmental journalists were largely in agreement with Mr. Gore’s presentation and his positions, one Irish journalist and filmmaker asked Gore about the many scientific errors that were found in Gore’s global warming movie, An Inconvenient Truth. “A judge in the British High Court, after a lengthy hearing, found there were 9 significant errors,” said Phelim McAleer, director of Not Evil Just Wrong. “This has been shown to children. Do you accept those findings and have you done anything to correct those errors?” Gore did not provide an answer, saying: “The ruling was in favor of showing the movie in schools.” When Mr. McAleer sought to press an answer to his question, McAleer’s microphone was cut off and he was escorted away. (Digital Journal)

You actually wanted to debate the your Lord and Master of Doom!  How dare you, peasant! 🙂

Chris Horner wrote in The National Review. “The closest the Court came to supporting the movie was to say that it was grounded in the science . . . and spends the rest of its opinion detailing how it then egregiously departs from the science.”

UK Guardian: Even if an investigation into the university emails were to show evidence of wrongdoing, scientists and politicians say there is an overwhelming body of evidence that humans are causing climate change.

“I think there’s no real scientific basis for the dispute of (global warming),” White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said this week.

So even if we’ve been lying up our ass the evidence is overwhelming.

So, just like the fake letter on George W Bush’s war service, “The letter is fake but what it says is true.”

So the evidence is fake, but the conclusion is true.

Now that’s REAL science for you!! 🙂

The Lord of Doom

This from the Lord of Doom, The “Carbon Credits” Millionaire Profit (no I did not mean Prophet 🙂 ) AL GORE in the London Times:

“Even a final treaty will have to set the stage for other tougher reductions at a later date,” he said. “We have already overshot the safe levels of CO2 in the atmosphere.”

“We are gambling with the future of human civilisation in accepting odds that by any definition make our present course reckless . . . But it’s still the most likely path to success.”

2006- USA TODAY: Al Gore has spoken: The world must embrace a “carbon-neutral lifestyle.” To do otherwise, he says, will result in a cataclysmic catastrophe. “Humanity is sitting on a ticking time bomb,” warns the website for his film, An Inconvenient Truth. “We have just 10 years to avert a major catastrophe that could send our entire planet into a tailspin.”

Gee, thanks Chicken Little.

He said that a system of carbon emissions trading was a more realistic first step on this path and rejected criticism from James Hansen, the pioneering climate change scientist at Nasa, who has condemned both Mr Gore and the Copenhagen meeting for their focus on carbon markets as a solution to climate change.

Mr Gore said: “The correct policy response will include both of these powerful tools. But the degree of political difficulty associated with a carbon tax is a degree of difficulty much higher than the cap and trade approach.”

Like this Mr. Doom: UK telegraph Nov 14,2009: Everyone in Britain should have an annual carbon ration and be penalised if they use too much fuel, the head of the Environment Agency will say.
Lord Smith of Finsbury believes that implementing individual carbon allowances for every person will be the most effective way of meeting the targets for cutting greenhouse gas emissions.

It would involve people being issued with a unique number which they would hand over when purchasing products that contribute to their carbon footprint, such as fuel, airline tickets and electricity.

Like with a bank account, a statement would be sent out each month to help people keep track of what they are using.

If their “carbon account” hits zero, they would have to pay to get more credits.

Those who are frugal with their carbon usage will be able to sell their unused credits and make a profit.

Lord Smith will call for the scheme to be part of a “Green New Deal” to be introduced within 20 years when he addresses the agency’s annual conference on Monday.

An Environment Agency spokesman said only those with “extravagant lifestyles” would be affected by the carbon allowances.

He said: “A lot of people who cycle will get money back. It will probably only be bankers and those with extravagant lifestyles who would lose out.”

You mean like the Liberal Elites with their mansions and private jets??

Of course not, silly. 🙂

Back to Gore: He also brushed aside questions over the reliability of climate science that have followed the publication last month of leaked e-mails between climate experts. He claimed that the scientific consensus around climate change “continues to grow from strength to strength”. He added: “The naysayers are in a sunset phase with a spectacular climax just before they subside from view. This is a race between common sense and unreality.”

Does that mean the liberal elites will give up their private jets to save the planet? 🙂

USA TODAY: Gore receives $20,000 a year in royalties from Pasminco Zinc, which operates a zinc concession on his property. Tennessee has cited the company for adding large quantities of barium, iron and zinc to the nearby Caney Fork River.

He’s raping the earth for profit. Someone call the Environmentalist Luddities!!

Oh wait… 🙂

2007:  These latest revelations are reason enough to rent the movie just to see Gore standing before an enormous bar-graph comparison of individual carbon emissions by nationality while sanctimoniously tut-tutting about how the average American’s energy use is greedily off the charts.

A Gore spokesman tried to deflect the charges of “do as I say, not as I do” by stating that the Gores “purchase offsets for their carbon emissions to bring their carbon footprint down to zero.” Gore himself has been very public about this approach to carbon neutrality, but not only is this claim not exactly true, it’s quite meaningless in terms of global warming.

First, Al Gore doesn’t purchase carbon offsets out of his own pocket and the actual economic cost, if any, to him is unknown.

The actual offset purchaser is a London-based investment firm, Generation Investment Management (GIM), that Al Gore co-founded with former Goldman Sachs executive David Blood and others in 2004.

Goldman Sachs? Where have I heard that one before…. 🙂

So. Lord Doom has a “carbon credits”  offset company. So he’s buying off his “carbon footprint” from himself. 🙂

How convenient. Or  is this an Inconvenient Truth? 🙂

The elite liberal intelligensia are preaching doom and destruction and the death of mankind.

And many are Profiting from it.

There’s a term for that, and it’s not Nobel Laurette.

Huckster.

Scam Artist.

Fraud.

Did you know there’s a Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX), as in a  Commodities Market??

And here I thought Wall Street trader types were evil? 🙂

“Did we think Kyoto would [reduce global warming] when we signed it [in 1997]?… Hell no!” said Gore. He then explained that the actual point of Kyoto was to demonstrate that international support could be mustered for action on environmental issues. (Al Gore say about the Kyoto Protocol following a private presentation of his climate slide show I attended at the Americans for Tax Reform offices in January, 2006.-Fox News)

His company buys the offsets for their employees. There’s no cost to him. He benefits politically – and perhaps financially, as well – from them. He then advocates that the rest of us who cannot so easily offset are carbon production suffer myriad personal sacrifices.

The would-be Emperor has no clothes.

While Gore and the other Liberal Elites relax in  posh luxury you should be taking shorter and colder showers, and hanging your laundry outside to dry. As Gore and his Environmentalist Doomsayers jet around the world in first-class comfort to hob-nob with society’s elites about his self-declared “moral imperative”, you should travel less and bike to work. You should use less electricity while Al and his wife, Tipper, use 20 times the national average. Now that’s a real carbon offset.

“Are you ready to change the way you live?” Gore literally meant you – and only you.

Just Recently- Lord Doom cancels his show at Copenhagen: As described in The Washington Times’ Inside the Beltway column Tuesday, the multimedia public event to promote Mr. Gore’s new book, “Our Choice,” included $1,209 VIP tickets that granted the holder a photo opportunity with Mr. Gore and a “light snack.”

“Our Choice” is the sequel to his “inconvenient truth”. I’m sure the movie will be coming soon.

Maybe it was the Inconvenient Truth that he and his fellow doomsayers are LYING. Ya Think? 🙂

IDB:  As the high priests of what Czech President Vaclav Klaus has called a “religion” prepare their pilgrimage to worship the earth goddess Gaia in Copenhagen, complete with humanity being sacrificed, the heresy of climate truth is finally being heard.

The gospel of climate change, once expressed with the messianic fervor of an Elmer Gantry by Al Gore, is now expressed with the stammering incoherence of an Elmer Fudd by the defenders of doctored and destroyed data.

“What is most important is that CRU continues its world-leading research with as little interruption and diversion as possible,” Phil Jones said in a statement.

My, that sounds like a very political statement. 🙂

According to the Daily Collegian, the Penn State University student newspaper, professor Michael Mann, featured prominently in the CRU e-mails and creator of the famous and fraudulent “hockey stick” showing a sharp and sudden increase in man-caused global warming, is being investigated by the university.

This includes Jones’ note to his colleagues telling them he had “just completed Mike’s Nature trick of adding in the real temps to each series for the last 20 years (i.e., from 1981 onwards) and from 1961 for Keith’s to hide the decline” in temperatures.

Now we just have to get the Ministry of Truth (ABC,NBC,CBS,CNN,MSNBC, et al) to actually cover the real story instead of the alleged “hacking” “crime”.

But I won’t hold my carbon dioxide exhaling breath.

According to the U.S. Treasury, this proposal includes between $100 billion and $200 billion in additional taxes a year, costing an additional $1,761 per family — equivalent to a 15% hike in the personal income tax.

A further report commissioned by the U.S. Senate has shown that the additional gas taxes in the proposal equate to $3.6 trillion by 2035. According to an analysis by the independent Heritage Foundation, once fully implemented this would lead directly to a staggering 2.5 million jobs lost.

And other reports suggest that air fares would double at best (all that evil airline fuel you know). So going anywhere would be out of the question for millions of people.

So you won’t be able to afford your car, and will have to take government funded public transit or bike to work, if you have one. You won’t be able to go on vacation anywhere, and your taxes will skyrocket.

But you’ll feel good about “saving the planet” right along side Lord Doom as he rakes in the millions.

But Al Gore and his Liberal Elites will still have their mansions, private limos, and private jets! 🙂

You must make the sacrifice!

You must be the sacrifice to the Gods of Green Gaia.

Ruth Lea, an economist from Arbuthnot Banking Group, told the Daily Mail: “This is all about control of the individual and you begin to wonder whether this is what the green agenda has always been about. It’s Orwellian. This will be an enormous tax on business.”

Yes, Mrs Lea, you do have wonder. 🙂

And with unemployment at 10.2% I’m sure more taxes is just what they need to start hiring people.

Meanwhile China, the biggest polluter in the world says “no” to any deals and laughs hysterically at the Lord and and ladies of Doom.

Hindu, The National Newspaper of India Online: Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Qin Gang, “China and India both are developing countries and victims of climate change,” he said. “The two countries do not have obligations to binding emissions reduction targets. On climate change, both countries have same positions, same concerns and same demands.”

China and India, along with Brazil and South Africa, this week submitted a joint draft listing their non-negotiable demands ahead of Copenhagen. The draft said the countries would not accept legally binding cuts and international measurement, reporting and verification of unsupported mitigation actions.

So the world’s biggest polluter is the victim.

And the US, #2, is the perpetrator.

And Obama and Doomsayer’s and Fraud’s “consensus” agree.

A Chinese made candle to light your home and a Chinese-made bike to pedal to work (if you can get one that is) anyone??

The Orwellian Beat Rolls On

I know I should talk about Obama sending troops to Afghanistan in a “surge” like the one he and the Democrats pissed all over several years ago.

And how mugh fun it would be to see the far left anti-war wingnuts just rip Obama a new one.

But I’m not.

Not after I found this quote on MSNBC for the coming Sith Lady of Health Care, Kathleen Sibelius, she who must be obeyed if the Health Care Reform passes.

“Relying on fossil fuels leads to unhealthy lifestyles, increasing our chances for getting sick and in some cases takes years from our lives,” U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said. “As greenhouse gas emissions go down, so do deaths from cardiovascular and respiratory diseases. This is not a small effect.”

Fossil fuels- Evil

Green house Gases- Evil

Crush Cap & Trade Taxes and massively higher energy costs – Saves Lives. Good.

And this, from the lady who will be in charge of your Health Care when the “reforms” pass.

Gives you the warm fuzzies, don’t it. 🙂

Add to that:

Reuters: Delegates meet in Copenhagen for a December 7-18 talks to try to work out a new U.N. pact to address global warming.

The head of the U.N.’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate (IPCC) Change, Rajendra Pachauri, told Reuters last week that the leaks do not affect findings in 2007 that it was more than 90 percent certain that human activities were causing climate change.

“This private communication in no way damages the credibility of the … findings,” he said, saying that all conclusions were subjected to rigorous review.

I was intrigued by the pause… 🙂

Some CRU researchers contribute to the IPCC’s reports which pull together data from scientists around the world in an attempt to give a consensus view on climate change. “Opposition groups are taking passages out of context to try to undermine public confidence in climate science,” the Union of Concerned Scientists said in a statement on Wednesday.

“Even without data from CRU, there is still an overwhelming body of evidence that human activity (is) triggering dangerous levels of global warming,” it said.

IBD: “The evidence pointing to a growing human contribution to global warming is so widely accepted that the hacked material is unlikely to erode the overall argument.” New York Times’ Andrew Revkin.

All the news that’s fit to print, my ass.

The Washington Post on Nov. 25 pre-emptively editorialized about the revelations: “None of it seriously undercuts the scientific consensus on climate change.”

Orwell: Crimestop means the faculty of stopping short, as though by instinct, at the threshold of any dangerous thought. It includes the power of not grasping analogies, of failing to perceive logical errors, of misunderstanding the simplest arguments if they are inimical to Ingsoc (the Party line), and of being bored or repelled by any train of thought which is capable of leading in a heretical direction. Crimestop, in short, means protective stupidity.

And boy do we have it in spades.

In regard to one particularly pesky FOI (Freedom of Information) request, Phil Jones (CRU) said: “About 2 months ago I deleted loads of e-mails, so have very little — if anything at all.” Yet in an interview published last Tuesday in the Guardian, Jones told another story: “We’ve not deleted any e-mails or data here at CRU. I would never manipulate the data one bit — I would categorically deny that.”

Doubklethink: The power to hold two completely contradictory beliefs in one’s mind simultaneously, and accept both of them.

In one exchange, Jones tells Penn State’s Michael Mann: “If they ever hear there’s a Freedom of Information Act in the U.K., I think I’ll delete the file rather than send to anyone.” He even asks Mann to join him in deleting e-mail exchanges about an IPCC assessment report: “Can you delete any e-mails you may have had with Keith re: (the IPCC’s Fourth Assessment Report)?”

Duplicity, thy name is “Consensus”.

And then the game was reveled:

“Most Americans are convinced that climate change is real — a necessary prerequisite for the kinds of huge economic and behavioral adjustments we would have to make.” Pulitzer-winning columnist Eugene Robinson,Washington Post.

It’s not save the enviroment, it’s CONTROL THE PEOPLE!

We’re the evil ones. So we must be controlled. We do bad things. We need a Nanny, like Kathleen Sibelius on Health Care and Obama and his Czars on the Environment.

We can’t be trusted.

We are just unrepentant EVIL. 🙂

And they are the Warriors of the Righteous and the Good!!

The “Consensus”!

Those fearless watchdogs of the press?  The “Fourth Estate”? Gone.

“I’m sad to report today a death of a good friend to all of us…..Journalism, the once esteemed 4th estate of our nation and the protector of our freedoms and a watchdog of our rights has passed away after a long struggle with a crippling and debilitating disease of acute dishonesty aggravated by advanced laziness and the loss of brain function.” Gov. Mike Huckabee

Now we just have Orwell’s Ministry of Truth. A propaganda machine for whatever this administration wants. No matter what.

Ministry of Truth (aka ABC,NBC,CBS,CNN,MSNBC, New York Times, et al): Department of the government in charge of all record keeping, history re-writing, and prolefeed (Rubishy “Entertainment” and spurious news which the Party handed out to the masses — like the seemingly never ending “scandal” of the White House party crashers while ignoring Climate Gate almost effortlessly)

Have a heretical thought, well, we’ll just have to “re-educate” you citizen.

All crimes begin with a thought. So, if you control thought, you can control crime. “Thoughtcrime is death. Thoughtcrime does not entail death, Thoughtcrime is death…. The essential crime that contains all others in itself.” (Orwell)

So now, a Little heresy 🙂

Prof Plimer – author of Heaven and Earth: Global Warming, The Missing Science -of Adelaide and Melbourne Universities, told a London audience: “Climates always change. They always have and they always will. They are driven by a number of factors that are random and cyclical.”

He suggested many scientists had a vested interest in promoting climate change because it helped secure more funding for research. He said: “The climate comrades are trying to keep the gravy train going. Governments are also keen on putting their hands as deep as possible into our pockets.

“The average person has been talked down to. He has been treated like a fool. Yet the average person has common sense.”

“If you have to argue your science by using fraud, your science is not valid.”

Unless you have “consensus” and the Ministry of Truth behind you. And will not entertain any crimethink.

“Carbon dioxide levels have been up to 1,000 times higher in the past. CO2 cannot be driving global warming now.

“In the past we have had rapid and significant climate change with temperature changes greater than anything we are measuring today. They are driven by processes that have been going on since the beginning of time.”

He cited periods of warming during the Roman Empire and in the Middle Ages – when Vikings grew crops on Greenland – and cooler phases such as the Dark Ages and the Little Ice Age from 1300 to 1850.

Which goes with my favourite line: So when the Ice Age ended due to global warming, was that the fault of the Cavemen?? Mammoth Farts??

Well?

But I’m just your humble heretic. 🙂

Hide the Truth! Beware the Leopard!

As the Mainstream Media works feverishly to ignore the fraud of Global Warming because the greatness of  “Hope and Change” in Copenhagen is coming…

Amid all this junk science, Coca-Cola has another campaign under way and, with other corporate biggies like Siemens and SAP, the software giant, has created an Internet campaign and Web site, Hopenhagen.com, designed to enlist support for a climate deal to be reached in the very cold city of Copenhagen in December.

A petition on the site urges support for “developing countries’ adaptation efforts and secure climate justice for all.” It’s based on the theory that Western nations, particularly the U.S., owe the world a “climate debt” for starting the Industrial Revolution and plundering the world’s fossil fuels in the name of unbridled capitalism.

“The world needs a Green New Deal,” declares a pocket guide to Hopenhagen’s goals put out by the World Wide Fund for Nature, the group with the cuddly panda as its icon. That deal involves a global climate change fund into which rich countries pour money for “green” improvements in poorer nations.

The WWF guide says the Green New Deal “will be based on the polluter-pays principle, on the historically high emissions of developed nations and on the capacity of the rich nations to help the poor. And we will all benefit from this North/South ‘burden sharing.'” To us, this sounds like the old Marxist principle of to each according to his need, from each according to his ability, with a guilty conscience thrown in for good measure.(IBD)

From the “News” section of Hopenhagen.com:

Farmers who cut and burn trees in Brazil’s part of the Amazon River Basin cause less environmental destruction, than rich Western nations have done in the past, the Brazilian President says.

So the slash and burn of the Amazon Rain Forest that the environmentalists have been screaming about for decades is nothing compared to the Global Warming cause by Greedy Rich Western Nations. 🙂

If you follow the link it goes, unsurprisingly to the Copenhagen UN Global Warming website:

Brazil’s president said Thursday that “gringos” should pay Amazon nations to prevent deforestation, insisting that rich Western nations have caused much more past environmental destruction than the loggers and farmers who cut and burn trees in the world’s largest tropical rain forest.

President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva made the comments just before an Amazon summit in which delegates signed a declaration calling for financial help from the industrial world to halt the deforestation that causes global warming.

“I don’t want any gringo asking us to let an Amazon resident die of hunger under a tree,” Silva said. “We want to preserve, but they will have to pay the price for this preservation because we never destroyed our forest like they mowed theirs down a century ago.”

In Brazil, the word “gringo” does not only mean American, but generally refers to anyone from the northern hemisphere.

This would be the same President who just met with Iran‘s Dictator-in-Chief Ahmadinejad was scheduled to sign trade deals with President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva before visiting Congress and speaking at a university in Brasilia.

He also said the two nations believe that the international order should be revised.(Tehran Times)

So fork it over America, you greedy pigs!

IBD: Average Joe noticed how Al Gore and other Democratic politicians were quick to capitalize on the matter, even before the scientific community could speak with a unified voice on the issue.

He figured out, correctly, that politics rather than science was the force that put global warming on the front pages of the newspapers and on television every night.

And that the religion of  “the consensus” continues.

“The Consensus” doesn’t want to hear anything that endangers it.

And “The Consensus” can be very partisan.

Liberal Think Tank Environmentalist to the Stars (like Al Gore), Joe Romm:

It will be no surprise to learn the central point of their essay, ironically titled “Dangerous Assumptions” is “Enormous advances in energy technology will be needed to stabilize atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations at acceptable levels,” which is otherwise known as the technology trap or the standard “Technology, technology, blah, blah, blah” delayer message developed by Frank Luntz and perfected by Bush/Lomborg/Gingrich.

In other words, the Nature article was not what it claimed to be. It wasn’t an analysis suggesting that the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change should revisit its assumptions about decarbonization. It wasn’t an argument for stronger technology policies. No, it was a devious Republican message – one designed by Republican pollster Frank Luntz during the Bush years – to delay action. (globalwarmingheartland.com)

Do you get the impression I do,that if you’re a liberal,  if you’re toaster burns your toast in the morning it was because it was made by a Republican just to piss them off! 🙂

Everything is political.

And thus, if the Truth is truly Inconvenient it must be hidden.

In The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, Arthur Dent asks why the his house must be destroyed for a bypass only to find out that the plans for this were posted:

Arthur: “Oh yes, well, as soon as I heard I went straight round to see them, yesterday afternoon. You hadn’t exactly gone out of your way to call attention to them, had you? I mean, like actually telling anybody or anything.”

“But the plans were on display…”

“On display? I eventually had to go down to the cellar to find them.”

“That’s the display department.”

“With a flashlight.”

“Ah, well, the lights had probably gone.”

“So had the stairs.”

“But look, you found the notice, didn’t you?”

“Yes,” said Arthur, “yes I did. It was on display on the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying ‘Beware of the Leopard.’”

So, no it’s time to brave the Leopard and see for yourself about the Bypass being built on your backs in Copenhagen.

Good Article: http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/jamesdelingpole/100017977/climategate-the-scandal-spreads-the-plot-thickens-the-shame-deepens/

And then, one is left to wonder why they felt the need to rig the game in the first place, if their science is as robust as they claim. If there’s an innocent explanation for that, we’d love to hear it.

But I fear, it’s just more burnt toast.

Brave the Leopard!
