The Ministry of Microagressions

Microaggressions – considered examples of subconscious racism. Because on the left everything and everybody is about racism. It is their greatest control mechanism ( call it micro-totalitarianism– Thomas Sowell does).

It is the whip they will wield to make you obey them. Thoughtcrimes are Racist and Racism is a Thoughtcrime.

You’re all racists and everything you do and say is racist so you must controlled to stop all those racist thoughts like:

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.” –Dr. Martin Luther King.

Man what a naive racist! 🙂

George Orwell said, “There are some ideas so absurd that only an intellectual could believe them.” If one wants to discover the truth of Orwell’s statement, he need only step upon most college campuses.

Faculty leaders of the University of California consider certain statements racism and feel they should not be used in class. They call it micro-aggression. To them, micro-aggressive racist statements are: “America is the land of opportunity.” That is seen as perpetuating the myth of meritocracy. “There is only one race, the human race.” Such a statement is seen as denying the individual as a racial/cultural being. “I believe the most qualified person should get the job.” That’s “racist” because it gives the impression that “people of color are given extra unfair benefits because of their race.”

An initiative of UC President Janet Napolitano (former Head of Homeland Security -“Big Sis” to Big Brother- and Governor who never met an Illegal she’d didn’t love), aim to teach how to avoid offending students and peers, as well as how to hire a more diverse faculty (diverse meaning not white, not male, not christian). After all, inclusive is very exclusive. 🙂

These expressions don’t exhaust the list of micro-aggressions. Other seemingly innocuous statements deemed unacceptable are: “Everyone can succeed in this society, if they work hard enough,” “When I look at you, I don’t see color,” or “Affirmative action is racist.” Perhaps worst of all is, “Where are you from or where were you born?” For more of this, see a document released by The College Fix titled “Diversity in the Classroom,” UCLA Diversity and Faculty Development.

Star Trek’s IDIC (Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations) is racist.

“And the ways our differences combine to create meaning and beauty.”— Miranda and Spock, “Is There In Truth No Beauty?”

EVIL!

“I am pleased to see that we have differences. May we together become greater than the sum of both of us.”— ‘Surak’, “The Savage Curtain”

Racist!

Actual diversity is racist but the Left does it to promote diversity. The ultimate in Orwellian Doublethink and Doublespeak.

Perfect. 🙂

The handout also describes “raising the bar” as “elitist.”

University representative Shelly Meron said in an email Tuesday that “These seminars are not an attempt to curb open dialogue, debate or classroom discussions.”

Oh really?

“The quotes you referenced are taken directly from research done on this topic. We present this research literature/climate survey responses as examples so that faculty leaders can be more aware of the impact their actions or words may have on their students, and to provide faculty members with potential strategies to create an inclusive learning environment for all students.”

The inclusiveness of exclusivity! Free Speech by limiting it. Free Thought by thoughtcrime.

Orwell would be proud.

This micro-aggression nonsense, called micro-totalitarianism by my colleague Dr. Thomas Sowell , is nothing less than an attack on free speech. From the Nazis to the Stalinists, tyrants have always started out supporting free speech, and why is easy to understand. Speech is vital for the realization of their goals of command, control and confiscation. Free speech is a basic tool for indoctrination, propagandizing, proselytization. Once the leftists gain control, as they have at many universities, free speech becomes a liability and must be suppressed. This is increasingly the case on university campuses.

You have Free Speech as long as it is not a Thoughtcrime. And since basically everything is a thoughtcrime… 🙂

Daniel Henninger, deputy editor of The Wall Street Journal’s editorial page, writes about the campus attack on free speech and different ideas in his article titled “Obama Unleashes the Left: How the government created a federal hunting license for the far left.” He says that in the Harvard Crimson, an undergraduate columnist wrote: “Let’s give up on academic freedom in favor of justice. When an academic community observes research promoting or justifying oppression, it should ensure that this research does not continue.” The student was calling for the suppression of the research of conservative Harvard government professor Harvey Mansfield.

Oberlin College proposed that its teachers be aware of politically controversial topics such as “racism, classism, sexism, heterosexism, cissexism, ableism, capitalism and other issues of privilege and oppression.” The presumption that students must be protected rather than challenged in a classroom is at once infantilizing and anti-intellectual.

But perfectly Orwellian. The Ministry is proud.

Last year Vassar College faculty and students held a meeting to discuss the school’s movement to boycott Israel. Before the meeting, an English professor announced the dialogue would “not be guided by cardboard notions of civility.” That professor’s vision differs little from Adolf Hitler’s brown-shirted thugs of the paramilitary wing of the Nazi Party in their effort to crush dissent.

Azusa Pacific University “postponed” a speech by political scientist Charles Murray to avoid “hurting our faculty and students of color.” Brandeis University officials rescinded their invitation to Somali writer and American Enterprise Institute scholar Ayaan Hirsi Ali, whose criticisms of radical Islam were said to have violated the school’s “core values.” Brandeis officials claimed that allowing her to speak would be hurtful to Muslim students.

Western values of liberty are under ruthless attack by the academic elite on college campuses across America. These people want to replace personal liberty with government control; they want to replace equality before the law with entitlement. As such, they pose a far greater threat to our way of life than any terrorist organization or rogue nation. Leftist ideas are a cancer on our society. Ironically, we not only are timid in response, but also nourish those ideas with our tax dollars and charitable donations.

And these are the place your sending your little cherubs of joy to- to be indoctrinated and trained to be Leftist foot soldiers in the Army of Big Brother.

All Hail President Bernie Sanders! 🙂

Political Cartoons by Eric Allie

“My goal is not to chase a balanced budget just for the sake of balance,” he said to ABC News. “My goal is how do we grow the economy, put people back to work, and if we do that we are going to be bringing in more revenue.”

Aka, screw balancing a Budget I just want more tax money to Spend!
WHEN IN DEBT SPEND EVEN MORE!

“We’re not gonna balance the budget in 10 years,”

Not after what you’ve done to it! so why bother. Let’s just raise taxes so I can spend even more!

Mr. Obama said. “If you look at what Paul Ryan does to balance the budget, it means that you have to voucher-ize Medicare, you have to slash deeply into programs like Medicaid.”

Grandma off a cliff. Grandma eating dog food. Killing Old People. Heard it all before…

Mr. Obama also said Mr. Ryan’s budget called for higher taxes on the middle class.

You’ve already done that, Mr. President.

Mr. Ryan has claimed his budget plan is balanced — and that it accomplished fiscal solvency without raising taxes.

And, of course, we can’t have that without more Class Warfare, Taxes, and More Spending!!!  Same old…Same old…

The “Education” president

John Harrison was halfway to a bachelor’s degree but financially strapped when Marine recruiters began calling him in 2007.

His wife, Amanda Harrison, recalls their pitches: “Hey, there’s all these different ways to finish your degree and you don’t have to go into a lot of debt to do it.”

That was perhaps true until last week, when the Marines told Sgt. Harrison, 26, that his college tuition would no longer be paid.

“I was furious,” Amanda said. “So many of us cannot afford to pay out-of-pocket for our service members to go to school.”

The Army, Air Force and Coast Guard followed suit by also suspending tuition assistance to tens of thousands of active-duty troops. A Navy spokesman told Yahoo News on Wednesday that possible changes to its tuition program would be announced by the end of the week.

The plans reimburse service members $250 per semester hour, up to $4,500 a year, for off-duty college tuition.

The military immediately blamed $85 billion in sequestration spending cuts that went into effect March 1.

Well, they are psychopaths (PTSD) with guns after all… Darn that evil sequestion.
Bit at least it hasn’t deterred The President Golf Game!
“The Secret Service told us that the tours cost $74,000 a week. How much is it going to cost for the President to travel later this week to Illinois? <to play golf>” Karl (ABC News) asked.
“How much does it cost for him to go and play golf?” Karl followed up.
No answer.
Fascinating.
Meanwhile, the People (and school children) can’t tour the The White House.
It’s good to Be The King…

The Obama administration said Thursday it had rearrested and brought back four of the most dangerous immigrants it released from detention last month in the run-up to the budget sequestration.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director John Morton testified to Congress that his agency released 10 “level one” offenders, and has gone out and apprehended four of them. He said the other six are nonviolent.

Mr. Morton also acknowledged that overall, 2,228 immigrants were released — far more than the several hundred the agency had initially acknowledged. Of those, 629 had criminal records, though Mr. Morton said they were low-level offenders. (WT)

Gee, that makes me feel so much better… 🙂

“Today’s ICE testimony directly contradicts repeated assurances and explanations peddled by the Obama administration in the days after the mass release of illegal aliens became public knowledge,” said Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer. “The American people were initially told there were hundreds, not thousands, of individuals released. We were assured they were low-level detainees of little public risk. As we now know, neither of these claims was accurate.”

Another petulant scare tactic gone wrong.

But Mr. Morton said he made the choice on his own without any input from the White House or Ms. Napolitano. Still, he was unable to give many of the exact figures members have demanded to know.

Sen. John Cornyn, Texas Republican and one of those who wrote demanding answers, said Mr. Morton didn’t clear up very much.

“Why was the secretary of Homeland Security not aware of the release of convicted criminals by her own agency? Why did she tell us it was only hundreds who were released when we now learn it was thousands?” he said. “This is evidence of serious mismanagement at DHS under Secretary Napolitano.”

Shades of Fast & Furious…Fascinating…Deniability Cover?

The agency said the decision to release immigrants from custody was partly because of sequestration, but also because it had been detaining more people in the first half of the fiscal year, and had to slow down its pace to fit within its budget.

ICE is funded to detain an average of 34,000 immigrants at any one time but had been detaining up to 36,000 in the early months of the fiscal year, which Mr. Morton said meant they were always going to have to cut the number of people they were holding. (WT)

Gee, I thought Illegal Immigration was down… 🙂
Why would detention be up? Unless those “non-violent”  “low-level” unmonitored Illegals were committing more crimes… 🙂

So if you don’t let us Tax you even more and Spend Even more Bad things will happen!

NEXT: ObamaCare

Some Americans could see their insurance bills double next year as the health care overhaul law expands coverage to millions of people. The nation’s big health insurers say they expect premiums — or the cost for insurance coverage — to rise from 20 to 100 percent for millions of people due to changes that will occur when key provisions of the Affordable Care Act roll out in January 2014. Mark Bertolini, CEO of Aetna Inc., one of the nation’s largest insurers, calls the price hikes “premium rate shock.” “We’ve done all the math, we’ve shared it with all the regulators, we’ve shared it with all the people in Washington that need to see it, and I think it’s a big concern,” Bertolini said during the company’s annual meeting with investors in December. To be sure, there will be no across-the-board rate hikes for everyone, and there’s no reliable national data on how many people could see increases.

But the biggest price hikes are expected to hit a group that represents a relatively small slice of the insured population. That includes some of the roughly 14 million people who buy their own insurance as opposed to being covered under employer-sponsored plans, and to a lesser extent, some employees of smaller companies. The price increases are a downside of President Barack Obama’s health care law, which is expected to expand coverage to nearly 30 million uninsured people. The massive law calls for a number of changes that could cause premiums for people who don’t have coverage through a big employer to rise next year — at a time when health care costs already are expected to grow by 5 percent or more.
Throughout the healthcare debate (and his first campaign), President Obama promised that premiums would fall by an average of $2,500 annually per family.  He also pledged that overall healthcare costs would decline, not increase. Wrong, and wrong.  There’s a reason why Republicans are still fighting like hell to repeal and defund this monstrosity.   The Associated Press runs through a few of the reasons behind the looming cost spikes:

— Changes to how insurers set premiums according to age and gender could cause some premiums to rise as much as 50 percent, according to America’s Health Insurance Plans, or AHIP, an industry trade group that’s funded by insurers.

— A new tax on premiums could raise prices as much as 2.3 percent in 2014 and more in subsequent years, according to a study commissioned by AHIP. Policyholders with plans that end in 2014 probably have already seen an impact from this.

— Requirements that insurance plans in many cases cover more health care or pay a greater share of a patient’s bill than they do now also could add to premiums, depending on the extent of a person’s current coverage, according AHIP.
While we’re at it, let’s address two more shattered promises of Obamacare.  (1) Remember “if you like your plan, you can keep it?”  The Obama administration has announced it’s taking an even bigger meat cleaver to the popular Medicare Advantage program than first anticipated. Democrats attack the Republican budget for “cutting Medicare on the backs of seniors” because the proposal includes a bipartisan reform plan for future seniors.  Democrats have already sliced $716 billion from Medicare to pay for Obamacare, and they’re about to slash the popular Medicare Advantage for millions of current seniors.  (2) In spite of the president’s “not a single dime” deficit pledge, the nonpartisan GAO estimates that Obamacare will add $6.2 trillion to our long term deficits.

Mrs. Hasselbeck, who continually battles the four other left-leaning women on the show, reportedly is too “right-wing” for the audience.

“The viewers they polled all said she was too extreme and right-wing,” a show insider told UsMagazine.com Friday. “People did not watch the show because of Elisabeth. So they told her yesterday her contract would not be renewed.”

It was not reported who will be taking her place.

Then Barbara Walters come out and denies it.

Miss Walters denied the report on Monday, telling viewers “we have no plans for Elisabeth to leave the show.” (WT)

The Obama Principle

Political Cartoons by Robert Ariail

The Peter Principle in action again? Or maybe we should just label it the Obama Principle since incompetence is so normal for him and his cronies and sycophants.

The second term game of Obama cabinet musical chairs kicked into high gear Thursday when Attorney General Eric Holder suggested that he might leave soon. He would join Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Treasury Secretary Tim Geither and Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood on the exit list.

Names immediately surfaced of those who might replace Holder including Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, who has steered her department through controversial issues and come out generally unscathed. (because the Liberal media is in her corner).

She was so incompetent (which is what Obama wanted) she might become THE law enforcement officer for the next 4 years.

God help us all.

But then again, the American people are asleep at the wheel barreling towards a cliff so they don’t care as long as “Dancing with Stars” and “Jersey Shore” is one life is good.

Down with Evil White People!

American 2012: No Hand Ups, Just Hand Outs! 😦

Michael Ramirez Cartoon

If your organization has a policy or practice that doesn’t benefit minorities equally, watch out: The Obama administration could sue you for racial discrimination under a dubious legal theory that many argue is unconstitutional.

President Obama intends to close “persistent gaps” between whites and minorities in everything from credit scores and homeownership to test scores and graduation rates.

His remedy — short of new affirmative-action legislation — is to sue financial companies, schools and employers based on “disparate impact” complaints — a stealthy way to achieve racial preferences, opposed 2 to 1 by Americans.

Under this broad interpretation of civil-rights law, virtually any organization can be held liable for race bias if it maintains a policy that negatively impacts one racial group more than another — even if it has no racist motive and applies the policy evenly across all groups.

Equal Outcomes

This means that even race-neutral rules for mortgage underwriting and consumer credit scoring potentially can be deemed racist if prosecutors can produce statistics showing they tend to result in adverse outcomes for blacks or Latinos.

Already, Attorney General Eric Holder has used the club of disparate-impact lawsuits to beat almost $500 million in loan set-asides and other claims out of the nation’s largest banks.

In addition to the financial settlements — which include millions in funding for affordable-housing activists — Bank of America, Wells Fargo and SunTrust have all agreed to adopt more minority-friendly lending policies.

Though the administration seeks equal credit outcomes, regardless of risk, across the entire banking industry, it doesn’t have to sue every bank to achieve its goal. As a prophylactic against similar prosecution, IBD has learned the American Bankers Association recently advised its 5,000 members to give rejected minority loan applicants a “second look,” which it says “can result in suggested changes in underwriting standards.”

Also, the administration sent a chill through the financial industry earlier this year when it announced its new credit watchdog agency will join Justice, as well as HUD, in using the disparate-impact doctrine to enforce civil-rights laws.

Consumer Financial Protection Bureau chief Richard Cordray warned companies the agency will “protect consumers from unfair lending practices — as well as those that have a disparate impact on communities of color.” He added:

“That doctrine is applicable for all of the credit markets we touch, including mortgages, student loans, credit cards and auto loans,” as well as small-business loans.

Hiring Criminals

For the first time, the nation’s consumer credit reporting agencies, including Equifax, Experian and TransUnion, will come under federal review. CFPB examiners will subject these companies and others to an “effects test” to make sure credit transactions are racially balanced.

Those who reject minority applicants for credit cards or charge them higher loan rates had better be prepared to prove to Cordray’s diversity cops they aren’t racist. Many have already decided it’s safer to give black and Latino applicants preferential treatment, which of course is racism of another kind.

Other targets of the administration’s “racial justice” juggernaut include: standardized academic testing, professional licensing examinations, employee background checks, voter ID requirements, student disciplinary codes, prison sentencing guidelines — you name it.

The goal is to equalize outcomes based on race without regard for performance or merit.

According to Roger Clegg, president of the Center for Equal Opportunity, President Obama is committed to “aggressively pushing the ‘disparate impact’ approach to civil-rights enforcement” through which “the federal government insists that the numbers come out right — even if it means that policemen and firefighters cannot be tested, that companies should hire criminals, that loans must be made to the uncreditworthy, and that — I kid you not — whether pollution is acceptable depends on whether dangerous chemicals are spread in a racially balanced way.”

Last month, moreover, the Education Department pressured the Oakland school district to impose “targeted reductions” in the number of black students suspended.

The department charged that Oakland’s disciplinary policy has a “disparate impact” on African-American students, who are suspended at higher rates for violent behavior.

The Oakland case is the first of some 20 such investigations of school districts across the U.S. “The Obama administration is pressuring school districts not to suspend violent or disruptive black students if they have already disciplined ‘too many’ black students,” said Competitive Enterprise Institute counsel Hans Bader.

Education is also investigating a “disparate impact” complaint recently filed by the NAACP alleging the entrance exam used by selective New York City high schools illegally discriminates against blacks.

Through disparate impact suits, Holder has forced banks to adopt racial lending quotas and even open branches in minority neighborhoods.

He’s authorized five more lending-discrimination suits, while opening another 30 investigations against banks. And he’s just getting warmed up.

“The question is not does (affirmative action) end, but when does it begin?” Holder said in February at a Columbia University forum. “When do people of color truly get the benefits to which they are entitled?”

Banks had hoped the Supreme Court would declare his actions unconstitutional.

But a landmark disparate-impact case was scuttled at the last minute this year when the petitioner withdrew it under pressure from Holder’s civil-rights chief.

Congress is probing the unusual arm-twisting — which included what appears to be a corrupt quid-pro-quo bargain — that led to the case being dropped.

Most agree that had the Magner v. Gallagher case gone forward, the high court would have struck down the use of disparate impact and effectively shut down the administration’s witch hunt against lenders.

On the campaign trail, Obama was mum about his disparate-impact strategy and rarely talks at all about race.

He’s no doubt aware of polling in his last presidential bid which found 56% of voters harbored fears he’d favor African-Americans. But his 2006 writings inform us.

To close the “stubborn gap that remains between the living standards of black, Latino and white workers,” then-Sen. Obama proposed “completing the unfinished business of the civil rights movement — namely, enforcing nondiscrimination laws in such basic areas as employment, housing and education.”

He added: “The government, through its prosecutors and its courts, should step in to make things right.”

Because you don’t want to be a racist, now do you? 🙂

Confrontation

DHS Tells Border Patrol Agents To “Run Away” And “Hide” From Gunmen…

Border Patrol agents in Arizona are blasting their bosses for telling them, along with all other Department of Homeland Security employees, to run and hide if they encounter an “active shooter.”

It’s one thing to tell civilian employees to cower under a desk if a gunman starts spraying fire in a confined area, say members of Tucson Local 2544/National Border Patrol Council, but to give armed law enforcement professionals the same advice is downright insulting. The instructions from DHS come in the form of pamphlets and a mandatory computer tutorial.

“We are now taught in an ‘Active Shooter’ course that if we encounter a shooter in a public place we are to ‘run away’ and ‘hide’” union leader Brandon Judd wrote on the website of 3,300-member union local. “If we are cornered by such a shooter we are to (only as a last resort) become ‘aggressive’ and ‘throw things’ at him or her. We are then advised to ‘call law enforcement’ and wait for their arrival (presumably, while more innocent victims are slaughtered).” […]

But members of Local 2544 say they are obligated to protect the public in such a situation, whether they are on duty or not. Given the instructions, some wonder if they would be disciplined for taking down a gunman in a situation like the Fort Hood shooting or the January, 2011 case in Casa Adobes, in which a deranged gunmen shot 19 people, including Democratic Rep. Gabrielle Giffords. Six people were killed.

“It is always comforting to know that for those of us who carry a weapon when we are off-duty, if we should encounter such a situation, stop a shooter and save countless lives, we can look forward to being disciplined or fired by the Border Patrol because we should have run away to hide and then maybe thrown objects at the deranged killer instead of taking action and stopping him with a firearm,” the union local’s website says.

DHS officials maintain that the Active Shooter course was designed for all employees—civilian and law-enforcement officers– and no one should rush into a situation where they, or others around them, could get hurt.

You don’t want to be “racist” and  hurt any potential new Democrats, now do you? 🙂

From a Friend’s Facebook Page: From Thomas Sowell–“The two visions differ fundamentally, not only in how they see the world but also in how those who believe in these visions see themselves. If you happen to believe in free markets, judicial restraint, traditional values and other features of [one] vision, then you are just someone who believes in free markets, judicial restraint and traditional values. There is no personal exaltation inherent in those beliefs.” (Absolutely true – and the second group (see below) simply PROJECTS their image of self onto the former in order to suggest it is not!)

“But to be for “social justice” and “saving the environment,” or to be “anti-war” is more than just a set of hypotheses about empirical facts. This vision puts you on a higher moral plane as someone concerned and compassionate, someone who is for peace in the world, a defender of the downtrodden, and someone who wants to preserve the beauty of nature and save the planet from being polluted by others less caring.

In short, one vision makes you somebody “special” and the other vision does not. These visions are not symmetrical. Their asymmetry…affects not only how their respective advocates see themselves but how they see those who disagree with them.”

– T. Sowell

This explains why those holding one vision can disagree by stating (albeit sometimes rather unkindly) that “you are mistaken and your ideas will not help fix the problems you bemoan” while those holding the other more commonly say (or, rather, “feel”) that those who oppose their vision are not merely incorrect but also “bad and mean people, intent on harming others, and whose selfish and hateful ideas must be stopped at any cost”. Quite ironically, it is the latter viewpoint that is inherently more likely to result in viciously hateful rhetoric, violent/injurious behaviors toward others (who are “bad” and thus “deserve” it), and truly misanthropic mistakes that the latter group endlessly suggests are the “intent” (and fault) of the former. Worst of all, because the mistakes are all made “with the best of initial intentions”, the mistaken results cannot be acknowledged in any factual manner, such that they are likely to be endlessly repeated. Failures are never acknowledge to be the result of flawed ideas, merely flawed IMPLEMENTATION. Thus: welcome to bizarro world, where true progress is nearly impossible because an honest and dispassionate assessment of policy results cannot afford to be undertaken b/c it might force the very underpinnings of a deeply felt vision to collapse – and that is (apparently) the only thing worse than the persistence and exacerbation of all of the societal problems that aren’t being fixed in the meantime.

The former vision is inherently more interested in “what works”, regardless of how it looks or feels. The latter more in doing what “feels” right, and insisting it WILL work in the coming utopia (independent of any and all past human experience) if only it is done by the correct people, for a long enough period of time, with any and all failures (of course) being due to obstruction by those on the “other” side.

Well Said. Now run and hide from confronting any conflicting ideas. 🙂

Showtime!

One of the few times I have agreed with Sen. McCain:

“Well my position is it is a classic Schumer grandstanding use of his subcommittee,” McCain said when asked by a reporter outside his party’s policy lunch in the Capitol about Schumer’s subcommittee hearing earlier in the day on Arizona’s 2010 immigration law, SB 1070.

Arguments are in front of the Supreme Court today. So Schumer had his There-all-racists dog-and-pony show yesterday. Political theatre at it’s most grotesque.

After all, only 2 of 11 members of Upchuck’s committee (the other being “Ticked Turbin” Dick Durbin) bothered to show up for this narcissistic nakedly political dog-and-pony show.

“I agree with [former Kansas] Sen. [Bob] Dole who once said the most dangerous place in Washington to be is between Sen. Schumer and a television camera,” McCain added. “Of course, he never consulted me or [Arizona] Sen. [Jon] Kyl,” he joked.

Speaking of “UpChuck” Schumer…How much upchuck would Upchuck chuck if  Upchuck could Chuck his upchuck. 🙂

“We have a border agent killed because of Fast and Furious. We today have guides sitting on mountaintops in Arizona as drugs are smuggled up to Phoenix and distributed throughout the country. There frustration was real and understandable.”

McCain said the solution to the problem is simple: “Secure the border.”

Mind you, I will not forgive him for the Amnesty Bill of 2007. And he knows it, which is why in 2010 he ran so far to right to save his own job.
And with our incompetent former Governor, Janet Napalitano rise to her Peter-Principle heights of incompetence and the Race-Biased DOJ run by a political hack and a Labor Department run by a Pro-Illegal Hispanic we have no chance.
“Under federal law, under the U.S. Constitution and the Arizona Constitution, you know, we have the Equal Protection Clause,” he added. “I knew those kinds of issues would be raised by those open-border folks that are against any enforcement. We’ve been sued on everything we’ve done from voting fraud — to stop voting fraud — to welfare fraud to going after illegal employers who compete illegally, immorally and have a competitive advantage over the honest employer. Doesn’t seem like no matter what we do, Mr. Chairman, we’re attacked for simply enforcing the law, trying to protect American citizens and jobs for Americans. … We simply wrote the bill to preempt those kinds of silly arguments and try to protect everybody’s rights.”-Russell Pearce, the author of SB1070 who was railroaded out of his job by the hysterical Left.
Sen. Schumer describes state immigration laws as “counterproductive and unconstitutional.”

Because after all, The Federal Government must be Supreme in all things! And they don’t needy in any uppity States asserting their own rights!
And if the Federal Government wants to ignore any law then that’s just tough sh*t for you. Buck up and suck it up!!
Your Imperial Masters have spoken!
Do you believe individual states should have the right to make their own immigration laws and protect their borders, if they believe the federal government has failed to act, or not?

Yes, states should have that right 65%  2010: 65%
No, not up to states 31  2010: 32
(Don’t know) 4  2010: 3  (Fox)
“Illegal is a crime, not a race. It doesn’t pick out any nationality. It just so happens 90 percent of those who violated our immigration laws come from across that southern border or are Hispanic.”–Russell Pearce

Durbin asked Gallardo if SB 1070 made it easier or harder for illegal immigrants to report domestic violence or abuse of their children to law enforcement.

(State Lawmaker-Democrat) Gallardo said the bill makes it harder to report abuse, because women are fearful that if they come forward, they may be separated from their children and deported.

Can you spot the Liberal Diversions?
“I’m sure it didn’t escape notice that none of my colleagues on the other side of the aisle came to this hearing. That’s not surprising. They’re absent from this hearing just like they’ve been absent from every attempt we’ve made to negotiate a comprehensive solution to our immigration problem. We need people to sit down, people on both sides of the aisle in a bi-partisan way and solve this problem. and we have been unable to find negotiating partners,” Schumer said.
It’s the Republican’s Fault!!!
If they’d only kissed our ass on Amnesty then we would not have this political dog-and-pony show!
Remember, “Bi-Partisan” in Liberal land means you do exactly what they want and there will be no partisan childishness and you won’t be to blame for not letting us do whatever we want. It’s BY-Partisan.
And the fix is in, Justice Elena Kagan recused herself from the decision leaving a 4-4 split on the Court that would mean the low court and the liberals win.
But she refuses to recuse herself from ObamaCare which she also worked on.
Sickening.
MORE FUN WITH KU KLUX KLAN
An unhinged Chris Matthews on Monday excoriated Republican primary voters as racist, deriding them as the “Grand Wizard crowd.”
Former RNC Chairman Michael Steele (who is black BTW): Are you saying that we’re Ku Klux Klan?

MATTHEWS: Okay, I’m just saying, the far right party.

Mr “Tinkle up my Leg” was in rare form.
I guess he wasn’t invited to be on the Panel with Schumer and Durbin.
And the former Grand Wizard of The Klu Klux Clan, Sen. Robert Byrd (D) was dead.

The administration says the law, and Arizona’s approach of maximum enforcement, conflict with a more nuanced federal immigration policy that seeks to balance national security, law enforcement, foreign policy, human rights and the rights of law-abiding citizens and immigrants.

Obama:  The president said, “you can try to make it really tough on people who look like they, quote, unquote look like illegal immigrants. One of the things that the law says is that local officials are allow to ask somebody who they have a suspicion might be an illegal immigrant for their papers — but you can imagine if you are a Hispanic American in Arizona, your great, great grandparents may have been there before Arizona was even a state. But now suddenly if you don’t have your papers and you took your kid out to get ice cream, you’re going to be harassed, that’s something that could potentially happen.” (townhall)

But at least Attorney General Holder  and Homeland Security Secretary Napalitano have actually read it…NOT! 🙂
Supreme Court ruled in favor of Arizona on a law that allows the state to require employers to verify citizenship of job applicants, the court has shown it is not opposed to giving the states some form of control over immigration policy.
So hopefully State’s Rights wins the day.
But with the fix in, I doubt it.
CRIMINAL CASES IN THE SOUTHWEST (You, those “more secure” borders):
Eighty percent of cases filed against criminal defendants in United States Magistrate Courts in fiscal year 2011 occurred in parts of the country along the U.S. border with Mexico, according to a recent Justice Department report.Of the total 71,387 cases filed in that court system between Oct. 1, 2010 and Sept. 30, 2011, 57,310 were along the southern border, the United States Attorneys’ Annual Statistical Report for Fiscal Year 2011 states.

Arizona accounted for the highest number of criminal defendants (23,125), followed by Southern Texas (19,453), Western Texas (10,546), New Mexico (2,913) and Southern California (1,273).  Those four regions are among the top five in the country for the number of cases filed in the Magistrate Courts. (The other is Eastern Virginia, with 3,034 cases.)

Created by Congress in 1968, Magistrate Courts handle a “considerable criminal caseload,” according to the report.  Assigned by district courts, magistrate judges preside over misdemeanor trials, conduct preliminary hearings, and enter rulings or recommended dispositions on pretrial motions.

Regions along the southwest border also accounted for the most criminal cases handled by U.S. Attorneys in FY2011.  Of all criminal cases filed in U.S. District Courts, 43.3 percent occurred in the four border states – Western Texas (7,271), Arizona (7,033), Southern Texas (6,797), Southern California (5,689) and New Mexico (3,044).

Overall, U.S. Attorneys’ offices dealt with 163,908 criminal matters during FY2011.

Immigration accounted for 41.8 percent of all criminal cases – the highest number by program category. Next came drug-related offenses, at 22.1 percent, followed by violent crime, 17.2 percent.

Gee, Mexican Drug Gangs anyone?

Although the most recent report does not mention illegal immigration, the report for FY2010 does.

“Illegal immigration provides the initial foothold with which criminal elements, including organized crime syndicates, use to engage in a myriad of illicit activities ranging from immigration document fraud and migrant smuggling to human trafficking,” the earlier report states.

“Violence along the border of the United States and Mexico has increased dramatically during recent years,” it adds. “The violence associated with Mexican drug trafficking organizations pose[s] a serious problem for law enforcement.” (CNS)

But, don’t worry, it’s more secure than it has ever been and they have made ‘significant’ progress! 🙂

THE CHURCH OF ME

Political Cartoons by Bob Gorrell

And Church of My God is ME has come again:

“The fact is that since most of you were born, tuition and fees at America’s colleges have more than doubled,” Obama said. “And that forces students like you to take out a lot more loans, there are fewer grants, you rack up more debt. Can I get an ‘amen’?”

The students responded: “Amen!”

Obama continued: “The average student who borrows to pay for college now graduates with about $25,000 in student loan debt—that’s the average, some are more. Can I get an ‘amen’ for that?”

“Amen,” the students responded.

As mentioned in a previous blog, one of the main reasons for the higher tuition IS BECAUSE OF THE GOVERNMENT. Since they will pay more an more in subsidies to Colleges to “keep prices low” the incentive is to raise them to new heights because the government will just pay them anyways.
But for Obama, he want 2008 back, when he was worshiped as The Savior of Mankind and the only people stupid enough to believe that are the young Liberally-educated socialists-in-training.
So the campaign strategy is Class Warfare, Appeal to the Stupid, and then everyone else is misogynist (War on Women) or a Racist if they don’t support him.
Wow! Whatta Guy!

Cherry Picking

We’ve been hearing lots of talk of “economic recovery” and “reductions in unemployment” and “better days ahead” in the mainstream media.  It’s now about eight months until the 2012 election, and the Obama campaign is in full-on panic mode over the bad economy, so they’re releasing all kinds of misinformation, which is gobbled up by the press, who simply regurgitate it without a moment’s pause to question or analyze the “facts” and “figures” being presented.  And why should they?  Obama is their guy, and they would be thrilled to see him re-elected, so they’re happy to let the falsehoods stand when they report what they’re fed, and they have a million excuses at the ready if they’re ever called on it.  “This was a government report – we had reason to believe it”, or “those numbers were fluid – we just reported where they stood at that particular moment”.

The BS: In 2009, we were losing 750,000 jobs a month. Our biggest banks and auto companies were on the brink of pulling down the whole economy. But we righted the ship. We did not tip into a Great Depression. And over the last 22 months, businesses have created more than 3 million jobs, the most since 2005 and more manufacturing jobs than since the 1990s. We still have a long way to go but we have restored hope and possibility to the economy.

This chart from the Bureau of Labor Statistics utterly destroys that argument.  The BLS measures the percentage of working-age adults currently employed in the population — and as can easily be seen, three years of Barack Obama has not made any dent in the trough created by the recession:

That is not recovery.  It’s not even a start to a recovery.  By cherry-picking 22 months, the best Greenberg can claim is job growth of 136,370 jobs per month, which would barely exceed the needed job growth per month to keep up with population growth.

Why cherry-picking?  I explained the issue when Obama tried using this claim during his Google+ hangout at the beginning of the month:

But why 22 months?  Obama began his term in January 2009, and the recession ended in June 2009.   What’s so special about March 2010?  Well, not so surprisingly, that’s almost the nadir of employment during Obama’s presidency, which actually took place in February 2010, two years ago this month. Even if he’d picked the right month, it would still only have been 2.654 million, not 3 million.

Calculating from the end of the recession, the net job creation from those 31 months is only 1.407 million, a wan 45,390 net jobs a month, far below the pace needed to keep up with population growth.   Calculating for the entirety of his presidency, we’re actually in the hole 937,000 jobs.  Obama tried to cherry-pick the worst month in order to claim the most credit he could possible for job growth, and managed to get both the month and the math wrong anyway.

Obama and his strategists can cherry-pick all they like.  This chart tells the real story of Obamanomics and job creation during his term.

Good News: DHS Spending $11 Million Scouring Web for Criticism of Its Policies

I’d have loved to have heard the shrieks of indignation coming from The New York Times and the rest of the leftist infrastructure had John Ashcroft and other Bush administration officials engaged in this kind of egregious behavior.

No double standards here, folks.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has been paying a defense contractor $11.4 million to monitor social media websites and other Internet communications to find criticisms of the department’s policies and actions.

A government watchdog organization, the Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC), obtained hundreds of documents from DHS through the Freedom of Information Act and found details of the arrangement with General Dynamics. The company was contracted to monitor the Web for “reports that reflect adversely on DHS,” including sub-agencies like the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Citizenship and Immigration Services, Customs and Border Protection and Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

In testimony submitted to the House Subcommittee on Counterterrorism and Intelligence, Ginger McCall, director of EPIC’s Open Government Project, stated that “the agency is monitoring constantly, under very broad search terms, and is not limiting that monitoring to events or activities related to natural disasters, acts of terrorism, or manmade disasters…. The DHS has no legal authority to engage in this monitoring.”

McCall added: “This has a profound effect on free speech online if you feel like a government law enforcement agency—particularly the Department of Homeland Security, which is supposed to look for terrorists—is monitoring your criticism, your dissent, of the government.”

Rest assured that our beloved, baritone DHS secretary — and her ostensible boss, Eric “Fast ‘n’ Furious” Holder — would never, ever use this kind of information to go after private citizens. They’re just doing research.

As far as you know.

Consider this reason number 43,263 to kick this administration’s ample rear out of office in November.

PENNSYLVANIA JUDGE THROWS OUT ASSAULT CASE

An atheist annoyed a Muslim by using a Halloween costume of “zombie Mohammed” and the Muslim to beat the shit out the guy.

The charge goes to try and the Judge throws it out calling the atheist a “doofus”.

From Jonathan Turley:

There is a surprising story out of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania that seems the perfect storm of religious tensions. You begin with Ernie Perce, an atheist who marched as a zombie Mohammad in the Mechanicsburg Halloween parade. Then you add Talaag Elbayomy, a Muslim who stepped off a curb and reportedly attacked Perce for insulting the Prophet. Then you have a judge (Judge Mark Martin) who threw out the criminal charges against Elbayomy and ridiculed the victim, Perce. The Judge identifies himself as a Muslim and says that Perce conduct is not what the First Amendment is supposed to protect. [UPDATE: The judge says he is not a Muslim despite what is heard by most listeners on the tape. That being the case, the criticism of the comments remains.] [UPDATE2: Perce has responded to our blog and denied many of the factual representations made by Judge Martin].

The judge not only points to the Koran in the courtroom but his time in Muslim countries as relevant to his deliberations. Putting aside the problem of ruling in a case where you admit you have strong personal feelings, the lecture given on the first amendment is perfectly grotesque from a civil liberties perspective.

The Judge: “Well, having had the benefit of having spent over two-and-a-half years in predominantly Muslim countries, I think I know a little bit about the faith of Islam. In fact, I have a copy of the Quran here, and I would challenge you, Sir, to show me where it says in the Quran that Muhammad arose and walked among the dead. I think you misinterpreted a couple of things. So before you start mocking somebody else’s religion, you might want to find out a little more about it. It kind of makes you look like a doofus. …

In many other Muslim-speaking countries, err, excuse me, many Arabic-speaking countries, predominantly Muslim, something like this is definitely against the law there, in their society. In fact, it could be punished by death, and frequently is, in their society.

Here in our society, we have a Constitution that gives us many rights, specifically First Amendment rights. It’s unfortunate that some people use the First Amendment to deliberately provoke others. I don’t think that’s what our forefathers intended. I think our forefathers intended to use the First Amendment so we can speak with our mind, not to piss off other people and cultures – which is what you did.

I don’t think you’re aware, Sir, there’s a big difference between how Americans practice Christianity – I understand you’re an atheist – but see Islam is not just a religion. It’s their culture, their culture, their very essence, their very being. They pray five times a day toward Mecca. To be a good Muslim before you die, you have to make a pilgrimage to Mecca, unless you’re otherwise told you cannot because you’re too ill, too elderly, whatever, but you must make the attempt. Their greeting is ‘Salam alaikum, wa-laikum as-Salam,’ uh, ‘May God be with you.’

Whenever it is very common, their language, when they’re speaking to each other, it’s very common for them to say, uh, Allah willing, this will happen. It’s, they’re so immersed in it. And what you’ve done is, you’ve completely trashed their essence, their being. They find it very, very, very offensive. I’m a Muslim. I find it offensive. I find what’s on the other side of this [sign] very offensive. But you have that right, but you are way outside your bounds of First Amendment rights.

I’ve spent about seven years living in other countries. When we go to other countries, it’s not uncommon for people to refer to us as ‘ugly Americans.’ This is why we hear it referred to as ‘ugly Americans,’ because we’re so concerned about our own rights, we don’t care about other people’s rights. As long as we get our say, but we don’t care about the other people’s say.”

Burning the Flag anyone? Occupoopers pooping on the Flag anyone? Flag in a Jar of Urine anyone?

Hitler References, “racism” references by Liberals when you disagree with them.

No provocation there. It’s unfortunate that some people use the First Amendment to deliberately provoke others. –The Judge. 🙂

FREEDOM –DEMOCRAT STYLE

Democrat Kathy Hochul (via Guy Benson): I love the audible shock that ripples through the upstate New York crowd when their elected representative informs them that “the Congress” isn’t especially interested in what the Constitution has to say on certain “aspects” of its sundry decrees.  She goes on to pay lip service to religious freedom, suggesting that HHS’ extremely narrow exemptions to the mandate are sufficient.  Under this interpretation, the fact that “the decision has been made by this Congress than Americans are entitled to healthcare” renders conscience objections from religious institutions and individuals obsolete.

From Here Campaign Website: Democrat Kathy Hochul dismissed being portrayed as a tax-and-spend liberal as “politics” and said she’s a pragmatist who is open to good ideas no matter which side of the political aisle they come from.

“You can’t label me anything,” Hochul said during a stop at The Daily News Thursday.

Sure…. 😦 Whatever….

“Well, basically, we’re not looking to the Constitution on that aspect of it.”- Rep Hochul

THE IRS & TEA PARTY

In January and February of this year, the Internal Revenue Service began sending out letters to various local Tea Parties across the country. Mailed from the same Cincinnati, Ohio IRS office, these letters have reached Tea Parties in Virginia, Hawaii, Ohio, and Texas (we are hearing of more daily). There are several common threads to these letters: all are requesting more information from these independent Tea Parties in regard to their nonprofit 501(c)(4) applications (for this type of nonprofit, donations are not deductible). While some of the requests are reasonable, much of them are strikingly onerous and, dare I say, Orwellian in nature.

The other question is the timing of these IRS letters requesting reams of copies and hundreds of hours of work and potentially thousands of dollars in accounting/legal fees (all due in two weeks). Some of these Tea Party groups have not received anything concerning their nonprofit status since 2010 prior to these letters.

In the near future, the Affordable Healthcare Act mandate and all things related to healthcare are to be policed and enforced by the IRS. This means thousands more IRS agents will be added, but the actual number is yet unknown. Considering that healthcare accounts for 1/6th of the U.S. economy, it will probably be a significant number of additional agents. According to the tax administration inspector general, Russell George, “The new Affordable Care Act provisions represents the largest set of tax law changes in 20 years.” That’s an overwhelming thought considering there are over 70,000 pages of federal tax code. (KFYI)

But I guess I’m just Cherry Picking… 🙂

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ARIZONA!

FEBRUARY 14, 2012

I wrote this two days ago but WordPress said that it was published, then didn’t do it, so sue me. Oh wait, the State already has been…

On February 14, 1912, after nearly 49 years as a U.S. territory and thousands of years as a sacred home to indigenous peoples, Arizona became the 48th and last of the contiguous states to enter the Union of the United States of America.

At the time of its statehood, Arizona epitomized the economic promise of the American West. Rich in natural resources, the state was earning its reputation as the home of the Five C’s – copper, cattle, cotton, citrus, and climate. Its people reflected the rich history and heritage of the Southwest, from the influences of its Native American and Hispanic cultures to the adventurous spirit of its early prospectors, ranchers, and farmers. All embraced Arizona’s rugged and rich environment to create a unique and prosperous lifestyle.

Arizona continues to be recognized for its natural beauty, a high quality of life, and its ongoing innovation in all fields, from agriculture to technology.

Arizona was founded on rugged individualism matched with hard work and vision. It was this indomitable spirit that shaped and molded our state into the place we now call home. From our school children to centenarians, from urban centers to rural communities—we all have the opportunity to come together and commemorate this indomitable spirit and the 100 years of growth, challenge and success it engendered. (az100years.org)

Now the state, which is the home to the 5th Largest Metropolitan City in the US, Phoenix, has many new challenges.

One of the hardest hit areas for the housing crash.

Illegal Aliens.

The US Government:  Under Obama (can you say being sued by them for wanting to enforce Federal Laws on Immigration; The gunwalking of Fast & Furious; The undermanned and under-armed Border)

Drug Cartels that freely operate across the border.

The Ministry of Truth Media always wanting to call us Racists at the drop of any hat.

La Raza (“The Race”) the anti-white Racists who are endemic in schools, especially in Southern Arizona.

Medical Marijuana Liberals from California. California Liberals in general are a pain in our backside.

But I love it here. July 30th will be 25 years since I left Michigan.

The “Five C’s” of Arizona’s economy are: Cattle, Copper, Citrus, Cotton, and Climate.

But, of course, mining is politically incorrect for Liberals, even though we produce more copper than anyone.

When England’s famous London Bridge was replaced in the 1960s, the original was purchased, dismantled, shipped stone by stone and reconstructed in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, where it still stands today.

And I was on a Tour bus in Central London when we went across the current London Bridge there they mentioned it and I had stifle myself from cheering.

We have one of the 7 Great Wonders of the World– The Grand Canyon.

And yes, every man, woman, and child should see the grandeur that is Mother Nature.

In 25 years I have only been once because at 245 miles it’s not that easy to get to.

Which is also a fair point that many people don’t quite understand out here. It takes a while, some times a long while to get anywhere because of the vast distances.

Tucson is 140 miles from Phoenix and Flagstaff is about the same. The grand Canyon is over 90 miles North of Flagstaff.

Because of the lack of roads to go from the South Rim to the North Rim is around 200 miles driving distance even though if you stand at the South rim you can see the North Rim 13 miles away.

Many tourists don’t get that.

The Legendary Lost Dutchman Mine is purported to be in The Superstition Mountains east of Phoenix. But no one has ever found it, but not for lack of trying.

Tucson is the oldest city. Having been founded by the Spanish in 1775. But the Navajos are the indigenous people and have been here since the time before Christ.

I am proud to live here, even if the US Government currently is trying to destroy us.

Sign Posted by The US Government INSIDE (facing south) the US in Southern Arizona: 80 miles North of the border on the South side of I-8 between Casa Grande and Gila Bend urging U.S. citizens not to camp or hike in the “Active Drug and Human Smuggling Area” because “Visitors May Encounter Armed Criminals.”

U.S. Fish and Wildlife staffers report that the 3,500 acre Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge in this area is closed to U.S. citizens as well and is “adversely affected” by cartel operations.

But if you want the US Government to do anything about it: YOU’RE A RACIST!!

In an effort to quell accusations by the open borders lobby that the Administration has not gone far enough with its administrative amnesty program, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced last week the creation of a new “public advocate” position for illegal aliens. Senior ICE Advisor Andrew Lorenzen-Strait, who was appointed as the new advocate, will serve as a point of contact for aliens in removal proceedings, community and advocacy groups, and others who have concerns, questions, recommendations or other issues they would like to raise about the Administration’s executive amnesty efforts.

Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, Rep. Lamar Smith (R-TX), called the Administration’s creation of the new position outrageous. “It’s outrageous that the Obama administration has appointed a taxpayer-funded activist for illegal and criminal immigrants who are detained or ordered deported.  The administration all too often acts more like a lobbying firm for illegal immigrants than as an advocate for the American people.”

“This is just further proof that the Obama administration puts illegal immigrants ahead of the interests of Americans,” he further added in a press release. “The Obama administration’s lack of immigration enforcement allows illegal immigrants to steal jobs away from American workers and now their in-house lobbyist for illegal immigrants costs U.S. taxpayers more money.”

But don’t worry, the Border is more secure now than it has ever been, according to Big Sis Janet Napalitano, former Governor of Arizona, who did her very best when she was here to ignore the problem and bailed on the state just before the crash to take ignoring the problem National. You go Girl!
