The Selling of Fake News

He’s not even the president yet, and they are writing Fake news stories…

Donald Trump got into a heated exchange with a CNN reporter during his afternoon press conference on Wednesday. Trump admonished the reporter, calling CNN “fake news.”

“Your organization is terrible,” Trump said to CNN’s Jim Acosta.

“You’re attacking us, can you give us a question?” Acosta shot back at Trump.

“Don’t be rude. No, I’m not going to give you a question. You are fake news,” Trump responded.

The row comes after CNN reported on a 35-page report that made numerous scurrilous accusations about the President-elect and his campaign.

Yeah, Trump’s main lawyer, Michael Cohen (“the contact”), was supposed to have been in Prague talking to the Russians on the same day and time he was in LA with his son. Good Fact Checking there CNN (and Buzzfeed-Partially owned by NBC), way to go.

Jake Tapper, with what sounded like the Dan Rather Defense of , the documents were fake but the info as correct. Dan is teaching a college course now on “honesty” in Media, so…

“At the beginning of the press conference, Sean Spicer, who is going to be the White House press secretary, suggested that both BuzzFeed and CNN published this dossier full of uncorroborated rumors. That’s not true. That’s false. CNN never did that. We never provided even one detail from that dossier except this morning when I said that there was reason to believe that one detail that had been out there because of BuzzFeed was false involving Trump’s attorney Michael Cohen.” [emphasis added]

Tapper went on to clarify, “So, that conflation, whether it’s because Sean Spicer misunderstood or some other reason, that’s not true. CNN did not do that.”

Later, Tapper theorized Trump’s “fake news” outburst at CNN reporter Jim Acosta was an attempt to discredit the media organization.

“When Mr. Trump went after our own Jim Acosta saying he is ‘fake news’ and he isn’t going to call on him, what I suspect we are seeing here is an attempt to discredit legitimate, responsible attempts to report on this incoming administration with irresponsible journalism that hurts us all and the media going forward should keep that in mind,” Tapper stated.

So he says that Trump is doing it to them, what they have been doing to Trump for 2 months? That’s hilarious. But it fits the Liberal model of being the “victim” when their hypocrisy is exposed and they get caught complaining about what THEY have been doing.

“I can understand why President-Elect Trump would be upset about it,” Tapper said. “That’s why we did not detail any specifics from it because it was uncorroborated and that’s not what we do. We are in the business of sussing out what is true and false.”

So it was uncorroborated rumors that you published and aired anyways? Now is that Journalism 101? or Sleazy Propaganda 101? 🙂

CNN’s defense: Well, we told you it was unconfirmed. But we ran it anyways because it made us giddy. 🙂

I thought in journalism you corroborated your facts FIRST. Not just run with it and when it proves to be false do the mea culpa and blame someone else for leading you astray.

They would never have done that with their man Barack. But then again, they were his Propaganda machine to begin with. They are “hard hitting”, “factual” news now. 🙂

The allegations came, in part, from memos compiled by a former British intelligence operative, whose past work US intelligence officials consider credible. The FBI is investigating the credibility and accuracy of these allegations, which are based primarily on information from Russian sources, but has not confirmed many essential details in the memos about Mr. Trump. (CNN)

British sources? You mean like Yellow Cake from Niger?? The Left has a made a career out of that one the last time a Republican was in the  White House…and Trump isn’t even there yet!

These senior intelligence officials also included the synopsis to demonstrate that Russia had compiled information potentially harmful to both political parties, but only released information damaging to Hillary Clinton and Democrats.

If a Conservative or a Republican said this about Barack would this be considered “tin foil hat time”?  Quite the conspiracy.  oooh, very nefarious…I blame You Tube. It worked before. 🙂

The two-page synopsis also included allegations that there was a continuing exchange of information during the campaign between Trump surrogates and intermediaries for the Russian government, according to two national security officials.
The surrogate being Michael Cohen who can be verified to have been in the US the whole time.
Sources tell CNN that these same allegations about communications between the Trump campaign and the Russians, mentioned in classified briefings for congressional leaders last year, prompted then-Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid to send a letter to FBI Director Comey in October, in which he wrote, “It has become clear that you possess explosive information about close ties and coordination between Donald Trump, his top advisors, and the Russian government — a foreign interest openly hostile to the United States.”
Harry Reid? Great source. The Devil’s Advocate, literally. 🙂
And no one at CNN bothered to fact check this at all?
Why bother. It’s juicy, salacious, and it will get headlines. Who cares if it’s true or not.
We’ll just complain after the fact if it’s false and we ran with “fake news”.
We’ll blame BuzzFeed for it. Yeah, yeah, that’s the ticket!!
The memos originated as opposition research, first commissioned by anti-Trump Republicans, and later by Democrats.
There was your first clue! That Elephant made an jackass out of you.

“The dossier, which is a collection of memos written over a period of months, includes specific, unverified, and potentially unverifiable allegations of contact between Trump aides and Russian operatives, and graphic claims of sexual acts documented by the Russians,” the BuzzFeed article accompanying the document states.

“BuzzFeed News is publishing the full document so that Americans can make up their own minds about allegations about the president-elect that have circulated at the highest levels of the US government,” it continues.

Yet, they covered up Hillary  and Barack as much as inhumanly possible.

This is what is called a “Hit piece” and journalist used to have more integrity. But Journalism died quite some time ago.

“Don’t know about ethics, but now Trump has easy out,” tweeted Mark Horowitz, a veteran journalist who has worked at The New York Times.

Well, in the days of ethics you wouldn’t run a story without having checked your facts first.

In a memo to his staff, BuzzFeed editor-in-chief Ben Smith explained that he decided to publish the memos because BuzzFeed’s “presumption is to be transparent in our journalism and to share what we have with our readers.”

Unless it’s Hillary or a Democrat that is.

It’s transparent alright. Transparent at it was sleazy, unethical rumor mongering with unsubstantiated BS that served your Agenda and not “the truth”. It made you do a happy dance. It aroused your inner partisan hack.

Regardless of the veracity of the memos, within minutes of BuzzFeed’s publication of it, some of the more colorful details were already trending on Twitter. (Buzz feed)

And that, my dears, was the whole point of doing it. Feed the rapid nuts on Twitter. Who cares if it’s true or not it makes for great “meat” for the rabid. They ate it up like Jim Jone’s Kool Aid.

The president-elect referred to BuzzFeed as a “failing pile of garbage.” So now Buzzfeed has T-Shirts, bumper stickers, and merchandise emblazoned with it.

Journalistic ethics sold for Kool-Aid drinking cultist merchandise.

The document was fake, but the information in it was true, as Dan Rather once said. And since he is now teaching College Kids about “Honesty” in media reporting you know that the future of Truth is in safe hands… It’s one some Leftist’s shirt or bumper and it’s all true because it was on the Internet! 🙂

And it can all be yours for a price!
