Delusion & Deception

The Ministry of Truth goes into overdrive with an election only a couple of months away…

Lois Lerner’s Blackberry was intentionally destroyed after Congress had begun its probe into IRS targeting of conservative groups, a senior IRS lawyer acknowledged in a sworn declaration. Thomas Kane, Deputy Assistant Chief Counsel for the IRS, wrote in the declaration, part of a lawsuit filed by Judicial Watch against the IRS, that the Blackberry was “removed or wiped clean of any sensitive or proprietary information and removed as scrap for disposal in June 2012.” That date – June 2012 – is significant because by that time, ex-IRS official Lerner had already been summoned before congressional staffers who interviewed her about reports of the IRS’ targeting of conservative groups. “We had already talked to her. Our personal staff and Oversight Committee staff had sat down with Ms. Lerner and confronted her about information we were getting from conservative groups in the state of Ohio and around the country,” Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, told Fox News. (townhall)

Oh, and her emails weren’t destroyed by a hard drive crash, that was a Benghazi style deception…

In a speech this week, President Obama showed he’s just as detached about the economy as he is about foreign affairs, offering an upbeat economic assessment that would make even Pollyanna cringe.

In a single paragraph in his speech to the American Legion on Tuesday, Obama rattled off some of his alleged domestic achievements. More jobs, booming industries, more kids graduating.

But like most things Obama says that aren’t flat untruths, these claims are wildly misleading. For example, the president says his policies rescued the country from what could have been another Great Depression and as a result we’re now “stronger at home.”

But the Ministry of Truth and pure partisan Thought Police will make it true or else! 🙂

But as IBD pointed out recently, by several measures the economy is worse off than it was when the recovery started back in June 2009. Among them: median household incomes are down, poverty is up, Social Security is weaker, the national debt is far larger.

And the country is, remarkably, more pessimistic about the economy today than it was five years ago.

Obama also says that he’s overseen “the longest streak in private-sector job creation in American history.”

Technically, that’s true. But what Obama fails to note is that under Reagan and Clinton, private-sector jobs increased for 71 and 85 months, respectively, interrupted in both cases by just one month of a tiny decline.

Nor does he point out that average monthly job growth on his watch has been about 20% slower than it was during those two expansions.

In fact, if the rate of job growth during Obama’s recovery had been merely average, there’d be almost 8 million more people with jobs today.

Obama also claims that “our auto industry and manufacturing are booming.” Booming? Manufacturing jobs have edged up a mere 1.4% since January 2013, and they’re still 400,000 below where they stood when Obama took office.

The industry’s return on equity is lower than the peak under President Bush, according to data from the National Association of Manufacturers.

And NAM head Jay Timmons says the industry’s successes in recent years “have come in spite of Washington.” Obama’s forthcoming massive greenhouse and smog rules could choke these off.

What about the auto industry? Yes, sales are up from the recessionary trough, but they missed expectations in July, and passenger-car sales through last month were up just 1% compared with last year, according to Motor Intelligence.

Analysts expect 2014 sales to end up somewhere around where they were in 2006, which considering the fact that the U.S. population increased 18 million over those years, isn’t exactly saying much.

If this is what Obama considers “booming,” it’s no wonder the economy is in such terrible shape. (IBD)

President Obama is enduring an awful summer of domestic troubles, foreign tragedies and a lost national narrative that’s put him on the defensive. He’ll try to recapture control of the country’s political dialogue next month by igniting an emotional controversy over legalizing illegal aliens.

But Tuesday the Democrat was in Charlotte to describe to American Legion members an exotic foreign land where November voters should be delighted to keep his party members in office. Obama’s full text is available here.

We’ve gathered some excerpts with our comments in italics to provide a flavor of the alien land this president sees through his bullet-proof windows. He doesn’t seem so much detached as delusional:

“Even as we face, yes, the hard tasks of our time, we should never lose sight of our progress as a people or the strength of our leadership in the world. (Just take my word for it.) ….We are stronger at home. (What?) Over the past 53 months, our businesses have added nearly 10 million new jobs….

“Construction and housing are rebounding. Our auto industry and manufacturing are booming. Our high school graduation rate is at a record high. More young people are earning their college degrees than ever before. Millions more Americans now have quality, affordable healthcare (although the premium increases will surprise many). We’ve cut the deficit by more than half (from my own ridiculous trillion-dollar-plus deficits)….

“And just as we’re stronger at home, the United States is better positioned to lead in the 21st century than any nation on Earth. It’s not even close. We have the most powerful military in history — that’s certainly not close. (Although I am cutting it to mid-20th century levels). From Europe to Asia, our alliances are unrivaled. Our economy is the most dynamic.

“We’ve got the best workers. We’ve got the best businesses. We have the best universities and the best scientists. With our domestic energy revolution, including more renewable energy, we’re more energy independent. Our technologies connect the world. (Because I have not secured the borders) our freedoms and opportunities attract (millions of illegal) immigrants….

“And moreover, nobody else can do what we do. No other nation does more to underwrite the security and prosperity on which the world depends. In times of crisis, no other nation can rally such broad coalitions to stand up for international norms and peace. (Take Libya, for instance, where we assembled a coalition to oust Moammar Gaddafi and create yet another failed state for terrorist bands to roam)….

“That’s why the United States is and will remain the one indispensable nation in the world.

“Now, sustaining our leadership, keeping America strong and secure, means we have to use our power wisely. ….You know the United States has to lead with strength and confidence and wisdom. And that’s why, after incredible sacrifice by so many of our men and women in uniform, we removed more than 140,000 troops from Iraq (leaving the vacuum that ISIL now inhabits)….

“As we go forward, we’ll continue to partner with Afghans so their country can never again be used to launch attacks against the United States. Now, as I’ve always made clear, the blows we’ve struck against al Qaeda’s leadership don’t mean the end to the terrorist threat. (To be honest, I’ve always made clear that Al Qaeda was “on the run”, “decimated” and “on the path to defeat.” I left out the ongoing threat part because of the 2012 election)….

“As Commander-in-Chief, the security of the American people is my highest priority, and that’s why, with the brutal terrorist group ISIL advancing in Iraq, I have (belatedly) authorized targeted strikes to protect our diplomats and military advisors….

“Our message to anyone who harms our people is simple: America does not forget. Our reach is long. We are patient. Justice will be done. We have proved time and time again we will do what’s necessary to capture those who harm Americans (which is why two years after the Benghazi murders we’ve already captured one of the attack leaders who’ve been interviewed so often by U.S. media)….

“Rooting out a cancer like ISIL won’t be easy and it won’t be quick. But tyrants and murderers before them should recognize that kind of hateful vision ultimately is no match for the strength and hopes of people who stand together for the security and dignity and freedom that is the birthright of every human being. (Although modern weapons seem to play a more important role than I like to admit).

“Even as our war in Afghanistan comes to an end, we will stay vigilant….When I was here at the Legion three years ago, I said that the bond between our forces and our citizens has to be a sacred trust, and that for me, for my administration, upholding our trust with our veterans is not just a matter of policy, it is a moral obligation. (Which is why I took no real VA reform steps until CNN began exposing chronic abuses throughout the medical system last year)….

“We’ve been able to accomplish historic increases to veterans funding (because as a Democrat, I measure success solely by money spent)….But what we’ve come to learn (by reading the media) is the misconduct we’ve seen at too many facilities — with long wait times, and veterans denied care, and folks cooking the books — is outrageous and inexcusable.

“As soon as it was disclosed (or within several months anyway), I got before the American people and I said we would not tolerate it….And we will not….. We are going to get to the bottom of these problems (that I campaigned against seven long years ago). We’re going to fix what is wrong….That is a solemn pledge and commitment that I’m making to you here (just as I repeatedly promised that all Americans could keep their doctor and insurance plans under ObamaCare)….

“Already (nearly one year after initial disclosures), we’re making sure that those responsible for manipulating or falsifying records are held accountable…..

“We’re in the midst of a new wave of veterans — more than a million service members returning to civilian life (because we’re so drastically cutting national defense)….So we have to do more to uphold that sacred trust not just this year or next year, but for decades to come….

“We’re also going to keep helping our troops transition to civilian life. Because of the work we’ve done together, if you already have a military truck driver’s license, every state now waives the skills test, so it’s easier for you to get a commercial driver’s license….

“Every American needs to join us in taking care of those who’ve taken care of us. Because only 1 percent of Americans may be fighting our wars, but 100 percent of Americans benefit from that 1 percent….

“A hundred percent need to be supporting our military families.” (Which is why during the recent funeral of the first U.S. general officer combat casualty in decades, I was playing golf.) (IBD)

Orwell underestimated Obama.

The Pettiness of Command

Some examples.

Mount Vernon is the former plantation of George Washington and is owned by the Mount Vernon Ladies’ Association, which doesn’t receive any government funding.
But the National Park Service “made a mistake” when they closed off the parking lot to the monument because of a “misunderstanding”. (they got caught trying to cause trouble just to score political points).
Nevertheless, the NPS erected barricades in front of parking lots at the estate Tuesday. According to Stephen Gutowski, who documented the attempted closure, Mt. Vernon spokeswoman Melissa Wood told him that “the Park Service was confused about the ownership of those parking lots.” Most of the barricades were removed after several hours. However, Gutowski noted in an update to his post that barricades were still blocking a portion of one parking lot as of Friday morning. Wood told Gutowski that the barricaded section was “most likely owned by the Park Service” but did not elaborate.
But they aren’t being petty and vindictive…

#2: Near MOUNT PISGAH, N.C. — At a spot 5,000 feet above sea level and 20 miles from the nearest town, an innkeeper decided Friday to defy the federal government and reopen his lodge.

That stand lasted about two hours as National Park Service rangers blocked the entrances to the privately run Pisgah Inn on the Blue Ridge Parkway after owner Bruce O’Connell decided to reopen his dining room, gift shop and country store at noon Friday for lunch. The federal government had forced the inn, in a leased building on federal land, to shut down at 6 p.m. ET Thursday at the height of fall foliage — and tourism — season.

His family has operated the inn on the parkway about 25 miles from Asheville, N.C., for 35 years. It the only spot for many miles along the 469.1-mile mountain route to sleep or grab a meal and go to the bathroom.

A handful of guests had lunch before Park Service patrol cars blocked the driveways, turning on their orange flashing lights. Rangers turned customers away, saying the government was closed.

Because both the Pisgah Inn and Peaks of Otter Lodge are private, any proposal to pay federal workers for time off during the shutdown wouldn’t apply to employees there.

I’m guessing, if the Inn goes under it will be the Republican’s Fault! 🙂

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2013/10/04/blue-ridge-parkway-pisgah-inn/2923169/

Man they can guard an Inn in North Carolina more vigilantly than the US Border!! 🙂

#3: American tourists visiting a D-Day cemetery in Normandy, northern France, expressed anger upon discovering that the white-cross memorial they had travelled thousands of miles to see was closed due to a U.S. government shutdown.

#4: AP- Arizona’s Republican leaders, known for picking fights with the federal government, are seething again now that the Grand Canyon is closed because of the budget crisis in Washington.

Ooh, there, “seething” for a fight with Obama!!! n (gee, no media bias here!) 🙂

The ones Trying to open the park are the “seething” nasty fight pickers….

Gov. Jan Brewer wants the state’s signature national park reopened and has offered to pay for it with state money, but her proposal was rejected Thursday by a park official who said that as long as the federal government remains shut down, such a plan isn’t an option.

“I appreciate the support and I thanked them for the offer, but it’s not an offer we can accept,” said park superintendent Dave Uberuaga.

The shutdown that began Tuesday has led to furloughs for about 2,200 people who work at the Grand Canyon National Park and its hotels. “And that’s not counting the economic impact in the gateway communities, all of the related businesses, the bus tours, hiking companies, the jeep tours, all of those associated functions are suffering economically as well,” Uberuaga said.

Many of those businesses also have offered to chip in to pay to reopen the park.

So the “good guys” are the ones who capriciously closed it and refuse to let anyone open it until they’ve caused enough pain to make you scream.
Now that’s “unity” and “compassion”….

CAUSE AS MUCH PAIN, INCONVENIENCE, HASSLE AND STRESS AS POSSIBLE.

Because we all know, it’s the Republican’s Fault!  And only they are to blame!! 🙂

#5: Wesley Pruden of The Washington Times reported:

The Park Service appears to be closing streets on mere whim and caprice. The rangers even closed the parking lot at Mount Vernon, where the plantation home of George Washington is a favorite tourist destination. That was after they barred the new World War II Memorial on the Mall to veterans of World War II. But the government does not own Mount Vernon; it is privately owned by the Mount Vernon Ladies’ Association. The ladies bought it years ago to preserve it as a national memorial. The feds closed access to the parking lots this week, even though the lots are jointly owned with the Mount Vernon ladies. The rangers are from the government, and they’re only here to help.

“It’s a cheap way to deal with the situation,” an angry Park Service ranger in Washington says of the harassment. “We’ve been told to make life as difficult for people as we can. It’s disgusting.”

A couple hours later, when an Honor Flight of World War II veterans arrived, accompanied by Democratic and Republican members of Congress, the fences blocking the memorial were easily moved away, allowing the veterans to enter.

But the barriers are still at the memorial, and they’ve been reinforced.

#6: Camp David in central Maryland is being kept open during the government shutdown for his entertainment and security at the same time the Pentagon is cutting sports coverage to hundreds of thousands of troops around the world.

Camp David is where past presidents, who took leadership seriously, have assembled feuding parties from abroad to hammer out their differences in historic peace accords.

But, like we said, Obama has vowed not to negotiate with Americans there or anywhere. So, any budget or debt limit talks there are out of the question.

Maybe he”l just go skeet shooting or golfing until the Republican capitulate 100% to everything he wants. Until then…

CAUSE YOUR ENEMY AS MUCH PAIN, INCONVENIENCE, HASSLE AND STRESS AS POSSIBLE.

Now for the Charlie Sheen Moment: Said a senior administration official: “We are winning…It doesn’t really matter to us” how long the shutdown lasts “because what matters is the end result.”

Mr. President,

We thought you were different, but you turned out to be like all the others. You promised hope and change, but we trust government even less than before. You offered a new brand of post-partisan governing, but the red states and blue states are farther apart than ever. Washington was a mess when you arrived in January of 2009, but by breaking your promises and, frankly, our hearts, you made it worse. You vowed to ban lobbyists from the White House only to sneak them in through loopholes. You barred corporate donations to the first inauguration but let the special interest money rain down the second time around. You even learned to love super PACs. How could you?

Signed,Hopeless and Changed (for the worse)  (National Journal)

Oct 27,2008: “In one week, you can put an end to the politics that would divide a nation just to win an election, that tries to pit region against region, city against town, Republican against Democrat, that asks us to fear at a time when we need hope. In one week, at this defining moment in history, you can give this country the change we need.”— Candidate Obama
Well, it’s changed alright.
And we are all more United than ever!

And it’s all THEIR fault! 🙂

Memorial to the Left

The Left for you: A spokesman for a leading veterans organization criticized MSNBC’s Chris Hayes for arguing on his television show that that he’s “uncomfortable” describing American soldiers who died in battles as heroes.

“If Mr. Hayes feels uncomfortable, I suggest he enlist, go to war, then come home to what he expects is a grateful nation but encounters the opposite. It’s far too easy to cast stones from inexperience,” Veterans of Foreign Wars spokesman Joe Davis told The Daily Caller on Sunday.

Hayes, a liberal writer who hosts the weekend show “Up with Chris Hayes,” said he is “uncomfortable about the word [hero] because it seems to me that it is so rhetorically proximate to justifications for more war.”

“I don’t want to obviously desecrate or disrespect memory of anyone that’s fallen, he said, “and obviously there are individual circumstances in which there is genuine, tremendous heroism — hail of gunfire, rescuing fellow soldiers and things like that. But it seems to me that we marshal this word in a way that is problematic.”

And these are the people who will stop Iran from nuking the world? 😦

“Like anorexics, who think they are grossly fat when they are very thin, the American body politic is suffering from a national version of body dysmorphia, with nearly half the country believing taxes are high, when they are comparatively and historically low.”
— Reuters global editor at large Chrystia Freeland
“I keep hearing we’re a centrist country and that candidates, after they get through their primaries, have to pivot back to the center, because that’s where we all are. And yet, you have a Republican Party that is in no way in the center, in terms of their issues. They’re clearly out of the mainstream on rolling back, on really rolling back 70 years of legislation.” — CBS’s Lesley Stahl (MRC)

The Origination Clause in Article I, Section 7 states: “All Bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives; but the Senate may propose or concur with Amendments as on other Bills.” In addition to clarity, this provision has an even greater virtue: It serves a very good purpose.

The Founding Fathers required revenue measures to originate in the House because they wanted this authority to belong to the legislative body closest to the people. Plus, the Framers wanted the larger states to enjoy the most influence on matters of taxing and spending, which is the case in the House (whose seats are allocated according to population) but not the Senate (where each state gets two seats regardless of population and smaller states have outsized influence). “This power over the purse,” James Madison explained in Federalist No. 58, “may, in fact be regarded as the most complete and effectual weapon with which any constitution can arm the immediate representatives of the people.”

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D., Nev.) has taken to thumbing his nose at this clear mandate. Recently, he publicly dismissed the Origination Clause as a “hyper-technical budget issue,” raised by his Republican opponents as “a fig leaf to hide their blatant obstruction.” The matter arose as Reid orchestrated a high-profile Senate floor debate on the Paying a Fair Share Act of 2012, prior to House consideration of this or any other revenue bill. Also known as the “Buffett Rule,” the Senate measure would impose a hefty new tax on millionaires.Aware that the Republican House would no more propose new, economically debilitating taxes than Warren Buffett would voluntarily follow the rule that bears his name, Reid opted to move unilaterally. Why let a little thing like the Constitution stand in the way of making sure a red-meat, eat-the-rich proposal like this gets maximum media exposure during an election year?

It does not stop there. In its version of the legislation extending federal price controls on student loans, the Senate included a hefty tax increase — again absent the requisite House action. Then there is the Violence against Women Act, which contains a new $30 fee for immigrant visas, another Senate revenue provision that violates the Origination Clause. When House leaders uncovered this constitutional infirmity, they quickly issued a “blue slip” notification, effectively killing it.

Remarkably, as Congressional Quarterly reported, the House move “blindsided” the many constitutional illiterates in the Senate. One unnamed Senate staffer even speculated that the House’s fealty to the Constitution “may be part of some Republican plan.” This is all in keeping with how the leftist intelligentsia has viewed previous efforts to ignore the Origination Clause. The New York Times characterized one such mishap as an “arcane parliamentary mistake” the enforcement of which was designed “to block . . . everything else Mr. Reid is hoping to accomplish,”(NRO)
Private Equity Vs. Public Equity

After all, if Romney’s record in private equity is fair game, then so is Obama’s record in public equity — and that record is not pretty.

Since taking office, Obama has invested billions of taxpayer dollars in private businesses, including as part of his stimulus spending bill. Many of those investments have turned out to be unmitigated disasters — leaving in their wake bankruptcies, layoffs, criminal investigations and taxpayers on the hook for billions. Consider a few examples:

Raser Technologies. In 2010, the Obama administration gave Raser a $33 million taxpayer-funded grant to build a power plant in Beaver Creek, Utah. According to the Wall Street Journal, after burning through our tax dollars, the company filed for bankruptcy protection this year. The plant has fewer than 10 employees, and Raser owes $1.5 million in back taxes.

ECOtality. The Obama administration gave ECOtality $126.2 million in taxpayer money in 2009 for, among other things, the installation of 14,000 electric car chargers in five states. Obama even hosted the company’s president, Don Karner, in the first lady’s box during the 2010 State of the Union address as an example of a stimulus success story.

According to ECOtality’s own SEC filings, the company has since incurred more than $45 million in losses and has told the federal government: “We may not achieve or sustain profitability on a quarterly or annual basis in the future.”

Worse, according to CBS News, the company is “under investigation for insider trading,” and Karner has been subpoenaed “for any and all documentation surrounding the public announcement of the first Department of Energy grant to the company.”

Nevada Geothermal Power (NGP). The Obama administration gave NGP a $98.5 million taxpayer loan guarantee in 2010. The New York Times reported in October that the company is in “financial turmoil” and that “after a series of technical missteps that are draining Nevada Geothermal’s cash reserves, its own auditor concluded in a filing released last week that there was ‘significant doubt about the company’s ability to continue as a going concern.'”

First Solar. The Obama administration provided First Solar with more than $3 billion in loan guarantees for power plants in Arizona and California. According to a Bloomberg Businessweek report last week, the company “fell to a record low in Nasdaq Stock Market trading May 4 after reporting $401 million in restructuring costs tied to firing 30% of its workforce.”

Abound Solar. The Obama administration gave Abound Solar a $400 million loan guarantee to build photovoltaic panel factories. According to Forbes, in February the company halted production and laid off 180 employees.

Beacon Power. The Obama administration gave Beacon — a green-energy storage company — a $43 million loan guarantee. According to CBS News, at the time of the loan, “Standard and Poor’s had confidentially given the project a dismal outlook of ‘CCC-plus.'” Last fall, Beacon received a delisting notice from Nasdaq and filed for bankruptcy.

This is just the tip of the iceberg. A company called SunPower got a $1.2 billion loan guarantee from the Obama administration, and as of January, the company owed more than it was worth. Brightsource got a $1.6 billion loan guarantee and posted a string of net losses totaling $177 million.

And let’s not forget Solyndra, the solar panel manufacturer that received $535 million in taxpayer-funded loan guarantees and went bankrupt, leaving taxpayers on the hook.

Obama has declared that all of the projects received funding “based solely on their merits.” But as Hoover Institution scholar Peter Schweizer reported in his book “Throw Them All Out,” 71% of the Obama Energy Department’s grants and loans went to “individuals who were bundlers, members of Obama’s National Finance Committee, or large donors to the Democratic Party.”

Collectively, these Obama cronies raised $457,834 for his campaign, and they were in turn approved for grants or loans of nearly $11.35 billion. Obama said this week that it’s not the president’s job “to make a lot of money for investors.” Well, he sure seems to have made a lot of (taxpayer) money for investors in his political machine.

The cronyism and corruption are catching up with the administration. According to Politico, “The Energy Department’s inspector general has launched more than 100 criminal investigations” related to the department’s green-energy programs.

Now the man who made Solyndra a household name says Romney’s record at Bain “is what this campaign is going to be about.” Good luck with that, Mr. President. If Obama wants to attack Romney’s alleged private-equity failures as chief executive of Bain, he’d better be ready to defend his own public-equity failures as chief executive of the United States. (IBD)

PAUL KRUGMAN, NEW YORK TIMES: This is hard to get people to do, much better, obviously, to build bridges and roads and healthcare clinics and schools. But my proposed, I actually have a serious proposal which is that we have to get a bunch of scientists to tell us that we’re facing a threatened alien invasion, and in order to be prepared for that alien invasion we have to do things like build high-speed rail. And the, once we’ve recovered, we can say, “Look, there were no aliens.”

But look, I mean, whatever it takes because right now we need somebody to spend, and that somebody has to be the U.S. government.- Liberal “economist” Paul Krugman (Newsbusters)

So let’s all have a moment of silence and on this Memorial Day when we remember those who have fallen in War, remember the Death of Common Reason and Rational Thought on the Left.

Bask in The Light of the Incredible

Obama May 2011 on “60 Minutes”: It is important for us to make sure that very graphic photos of somebody who was shot in the head are not floating around as an incitement to additional violence. As a propaganda tool. You know, that’s not who we are. You know, we don’t trot out this stuff as trophies. You know, the fact of the matter is this was somebody who was deserving of the justice that he received.

In addition to suggesting “we don’t need to spike the football” with any further celebration, Obama encouraged America and the world not to doubt the legitimacy of Bin Laden’s death.

2012:

Political Cartoons by Chuck Asay

My what a difference a  RE-ELECTION year  and a 14,000 mile taxpayer paid for spike the-the-football in Afghanistan makes.

I wonder if the Bin Laden Death Photos will reappear as an “October Surprise”. Maybe with a Photoshopped Obama as Rambo collage. 🙂

After all, if you have no morals or ethics and the end justifies the means what do you care. It’s all about YOU.

Then there’s:

Now a Little levity:“Let me just say, that if George Bush would have done that he would have put on that aviator suit, would have made six banners [of] ‘Mission Accomplished’ and he would have flown all over the country. From, the east to the west, from north to south and I would’ve applauded,” Sen. Boxer hypothesized.

Yeah, right, Barbara…my how the liberal mind rewrites history in a flash to make themselves look good (in their minds) and feel good. The hought Police are proud of you Barbara.

It’s pathological. They are coming to get you Barbara…

“A Zombie isn’t a dead person who’s come back to life. It’s someone who ‘s been infected with the plague of the 21st century – a terrible disease that leaves its victims irrationally violent and hateful, some insist evil.” (Stephen Weir)

Sounds like Democrats to me. 🙂

“He has done so much and I hope that he just keeps on telling the truth to the people. That’s what this election is about: ‘Do you want to trust this man again?’ and I say the answer is ‘yes.'”-Sen. Boxer

Zombie Alert! 🙂

A Young Chris Matthews? 🙂

Then there’s good old fashioned Bribery:

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The White House pledged on Wednesday to help lower-income youth find summer jobs in a move likely to appeal to younger voters crucial to President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign.

The initiative is in partnership with the cities of Philadelphia, Chicago and San Francisco and is meant to add 110,000 jobs, internships and mentorships to the 180,000 summer work opportunities for 16-24 year olds that Obama has promised to create for 2012.

And when you don’t have that job come November 7th and he’s re-elected that will be someone else’s fault, ya sucker!

The Ministry of Truth not satisfied with crucifying 🙂 stay-at-home moms via Ann Romney now they are feigning outrage at Ann Romney fashion.

Emily Friedman of ABC News did the legwork and uncovered the shocking truth: Romney’s shirt cost $1000!

Yeah, Mrs. Obama just jets off to Spain to shop. Nothing to see here.

Yikes…

My favourite Leftist Loon, DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman-Schultz:

“I think the agenda of the Republican Party and of Mitt Romney has clearly been–and can be interpreted as–an attack on the issues that matter to women,” Wasserman-Schultz said during a conference call.

“From the very beginning of this Congress,” she said, “the first priorities in the first bills the Republicans introduced repealing the Affordable Care Act which would dramatically impact women in a negative way [by] making sure that insurance companies could drop us or deny us coverage for preexisting conditions, making sure that we could once again be charged more simply because of our gender for insurance coverage, making sure that we would redefine rape as only being forcible rape–that was H.R. 3.”

According to CNSNews, DWS was referring to the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act, legislation that would permanently ban the use of taxpayer funds for abortion.

“You know, what Mitt Romney and the Republicans have been doing to themselves every single day is showing women in this country day after day that they are callously indifferent to women’s health, to the priorities of women,” DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz told MSNBC on Thursday night. Really as evidenced by their obsession with cultural issues, their obsession with making sure that women can’t have affordable access to birth control, the dismissive way that the Chairman of the Republican National Committee today chalked up women being concerned about making sure that we could have affordable access to preventive screenings like mammograms as fictional as a war on caterpillars. You know, if they’re still wondering why there’s an 18-point gender gap and President Obama is ahead of Mitt Romney by that many points, then they really — they really must believe these things that they’re saying.” (RCP)

Say anything. The end (re-election) justifies any means.

“One way to carry out this disapproval might be to insist that all illegitimate babies be put up for adoption—especially those born to minors, who generally are not capable of caring properly for a child alone. If a single mother really wished to keep her baby, she might be obliged to go through adoption proceedings and demonstrate her ability to support and care for it. Adoption proceedings probably should remain more difficult for single people than for married couples, in recognition of the relative difficulty of raising children alone. It would even be possible to require pregnant single women to marry or have abortions, perhaps as an alternative to placement for adoption, depending on the society.” — John Holdren, Assistant to the President for Science and Technology. So, we have a man with the morals of Joseph Mengele advising the President on science. It also shouldn’t be lost on anyone that while Obama is yammering on about a “war on women,” he has someone on his staff who has come out in favor of FORCED ABORTIONS. (townhall)

But you aren’t suppose to peek at the man behind the curtain… It’s do as I say not as I do.

“Barack knows what it means when a family struggles. He knows what it means when someone doesn’t have the chance to fulfill their potential. And today as a father, he knows what it means to want something better for your kids.–Michelle Obama

Isn’t that much saccharine illegal? It just makes me all touchy-feely and squishy inside…

Sorry, I have to go to bathroom….

<<Intermission>>

“Now, people when I say that look at me and say, ‘What are you talking about, Joe? You’re telling me we have to go spend money to keep from going bankrupt?’ The answer is yes, that’s what I’m telling you.”Joe Biden, Vice President.

Ah, the wise man speaks…:)

WHEN IN DEBT SPEND EVEN MORE! That’s the ticket!

“Though this nation has proudly thought of itself as an ethnic melting pot, in things racial we have always been and continue to be, in too many ways, essentially a nation of cowards.”Eric Holder, Attorney General.

And truer words about him have never been spoken.

“Somehow we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe.”Steven Chu, Energy Secretary.

Well, it ain’t for a lack of trying…

It has been reported that the Obama campaign this year, as in 2008, has disabled or chosen not to use AVS in screening contributions made by credit card.

That doesn’t sound very important. But it’s evidence of a modus operandi that strikes me as thuggish.

AVS stands for Address Verification System. It’s the software that checks whether the name of the cardholder matches his or her address.

If a campaign doesn’t use AVS, it can wind up accepting contributions from phony names or accepting contributions from foreigners, both of which are illegal.

SHOW ME THE MONEY!!!

The 2008 Obama campaign pocketed money from “John Galt, 1957 Ayn Rand Lane, Galts Gulch CO 99999” and $174,000 from a woman in Missouri who told reporters she had given nothing and had never been billed. Presumably she would have noticed an extra charge of $174,000.

The Obama campaign is evidently happy to pocket the money. After all, this is the president who, according to political scientist Brendan Doherty, has appeared at more fundraisers in three and a half years than his six predecessors did in 35 years. (Michael Barone)

Well, all that campaigning to get the Illegal Alien Vote has to pay off somehow… 🙂

That’s how he raised $750 Million Dollars (more than any Candidate in history) last time. The Unions and the other wealthy donors, lobbyists, had nothing to do with it. 🙂

Ignore the PACs behind the Curtain.

And that’s why he doesn’t care about verifying this time. But it’s all so “moral” and so “ethical” and he’s just so wonderful.. He’s squeaky clean and perfect.

Barf Bag Overload!

Obama also indulges often in reckless political rhetoric. He likes to say that Republicans want no regulations at all on financial institutions and businesses.

It would be more politically astute, I think, and would certainly look less thuggish to draw intellectually defensible distinctions between his own regulatory policies and those of the opposition. Attacks like this sound like debates late at night in the dorm.

“If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun,” Obama said during the 2008 cycle. That sounds like something you might hear from a community organizer. Or a Chicago pol.

Chicago, Obama’s chosen political venue, helps to explain this behavior. The mayor of Chicago — the job he once aspired to before greater opportunity beckoned — is an utterly dominant figure.

Chicago pols assume they can endlessly plunder the local private sector without penalty. And business leaders quickly catch on that it’s a good thing to be known as a personal friend of the mayor. Campaign money flows accordingly.

The local rule is “don’t back no losers.” Those who do are well advised to do business somewhere else. You never know when the assessor is going to raise your assessment. And don’t appeal in court unless you hire the lawyer with the right connections.

The mayor is also the one who gets all the credit for all good things that happen on his watch, as Obama is attempting to do on the killing of Osama bin Laden. Even though he opposed the interrogation methods that produced the information that led our special forces to Abbottabad.

Other campaigns have not disabled their AVS systems. But then their candidates are not from Chicago. Obama likes to talk about the need for civility. He just doesn’t like to practice it. (Michael Barone)

And who is Mayor Chicago right now, why it’s Raul “Never let a Crisis go to Waste” Emmanuel. imagine that!!

What a coincidence! 🙂

FASCINATING HOW THAT HAPPENED. 🙂

But don’t you feel better now. Able to go out into world and sing a happy song and whistle and just bask in the greatness that is Barack Hussein Obama.

Fainting is optional but appreciated. 🙂
