529 Surprise!

Political Cartoons by Steve Kelley

For all his mellifluous talk about championing people who “work hard” and making college “more affordable,” President Obama has a little surprise for such people, buried under a mountain of euphemisms in his State of the Union address: Tax hikes for educational savers.

Remember, he wants to “help” the middle class… 🙂

So never mind about making higher college costs lower, and to heck with people who save for future education instead of spending now — the White House is attempting to raise taxes on contributions to 529 college savings plans in order to finance more government spending.  (As if $9 Trillion in new debt in 6 years wasn’t enough??)

The hike would affect 1 million people. Obama’s minions claim that they want the savings cash to “pay for” a $2,500 tax credit, presumably for savers and non-savers alike.

He taketh away and then he “generously” redistributes it back. Ah, isn’t he wonderful? 🙂

So in other words, the White House not only wants to bribe people with their own money, it wants to tax them to do it. Alexis de Tocqueville, call your office. (IBD)

According to the Investment Company Institute (the trade association for the mutual fund industry), there was $245 billion accumulated in 529 plans in 2014. With just south of 12 million accounts open, that means there’s an average balance of about $21,000 in these plans. This is not a mechanism for rich Democrats like the Kennedys or the Gates to shelter wealth. (Forbes)

I also like how OBAMA proposes to tax wealth (not just income) because it is more magnanimous to redistribute my wealth than for me to save for my kids college education, save for retirement, save up for a down payment on a house, save for a rainy day, or pay off my debts.

Well, the Agenda is The Agenda! 🙂

In his State of the Union address, the president proposed more than $320 billion in tax hikes on the American people – including a new tax on families saving for their children’s college education through a 529 savings plan.

Currently, families are encouraged to invest in their children’s future by saving away in a tax-free account called a 529 plan.   According to the College Savings Foundation, there are more than 12 million accounts used by families who invest their hard-earned money in a tax-free account for their children’s education.  And, currently over one million middle-class students are enrolled in college and benefiting from 529s.

Not only will the president’s proposal increase taxes on these plans, it will only increase the student-loan debt burden on middle-class families

Chair of the College Savings Foundation, Mary Morris, says the President’s plan would, “have a chilling effect on contributions by middle-income Americans.”   And current 529 savings plans are “helping millions to attend college, and reducing the amount of student loan debt students must incur.”

Betty Lochner, head of the College Savings Plans Network, adds, “Most families who use 529 plans to save for college are middle-income.  The loss of the tax benefits could lead more families to turn to loans to cover college costs.” (Speaker Boehner, yes Jar Jar’s Office)

And guess who owns the Student Loan industry, lock, stock and the barrel of the gun to your head?

The US Government!!!

Surprise! 🙂

Reality is a Bitch

Political Cartoons by Michael Ramirez

The White House says Obama told Francois Hollande that he looks forward to working with him on a range of shared economic and security challenges.

Obama invited Hollande to visit the White House before this month’s G-8 summit at Camp David, Md. Hollande is also expected to attend the NATO summit in Chicago later this month.

Hollande campaigned on raising tax rates on the rich in France to 75% and blamed economic troubles on the defeated Sarkozy. Allahpundit summarized France’s incoming Socialist president’s policies:

Hollande intends to modify one of Sarkozy’s key reforms, over the retirement age, to allow some people to retire at 60 instead of 62. He also plans to increase spending in a range of sectors and wants to ease France off its dependence on nuclear energy. He favors legalizing euthanasia and gay marriage…

Like it or not, Hollande is going to play a major role on the world stage and in the European Union’s ongoing budget crisis. (townhall)

And it’s not going to be pretty. The “entitled” greedy have one for themselves.

And Obama now loves The French.

With Congress returning from a weeklong spring recess, the Senate plans to vote Tuesday on whether to start debating a Democratic plan to keep college loan interest rates for 7.4 million students from doubling on July 1. The $6 billion measure would be paid for by collecting more Social Security and Medicare payroll taxes from high-earning owners of some privately held corporations.

Republicans want a vote on their own bill, which like the Democrats’ would freeze today’s 3.4 percent interest rates on subsidized Stafford loans for one more year. It would be financed by eliminating a preventive health program established by President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul.

Each side scoffs that the other’s proposal is unacceptable, and neither is expected to garner the votes needed to prevail. Even so, everyone expects a bipartisan deal before July 1 because no one wants students’ interest rates to balloon before November’s presidential and congressional elections. (townhall)

From the Ministry of Truth: News outlets are reporting that President Obama is “officially” kicking off his campaign this weekend with events in Virginia and Ohio. For anyone who hasn’t been under a rock for the last six months, the only response could be: what?

All those “more fundraisers” held than any President since Nixon combined didn’t count so the Media can reset their counter and you aren’t supposed to refer to it unless you’re a partisan hack because they have officially called those not campaign stops and you can’t now and the Ministry of Truth will be sure to let you know it.

That’s right, all the events, all the fundraisers, all the rallies that POTUS has attended haven’t actually been part of his campaign. Or so we’re supposed to believe. We’ve seen rallies in favor of the Buffett rule, college-campus events touting student loan rate subsidies, and other pet projects that President Obama has attended in the last month or so – and the Administration wants us to believe that these weren’t all campaign events. (townhall)

According to the left, if Obama wins a second term, he doesn’t have to deal with Congress, the right rolling back his achievements and “it’s on.”

Not to mention, a second Obama term could mean as many as three new Supreme Court Justices.

Which then means a complete liberal authoritarian stranglehold on everyone and everything.

Can you imagine a Supreme Court with a 7-2 Liberal majority of Obama Mania types being “fair” or “constitutional”??

MSNBC on Thursday again featured Ron Reagan to trade on the legacy of his father, trashing  the Republican Party as a “haven for bigots.”

“The Perfect Family” declares: “Suburban supermom Eileen Cleary (Academy Award® nominee Kathleen Turner) is the ultimate Catholic.” And indeed, the trailer for the movie perfectly reflects Hollywood’s twisted conception of Catholicism. One quote from Turner’s character reflects the view that faithful Catholics are heartless drones: “Well who cares if you’re happy? You’re living in sin!” Another quote is even more explicitly anti-Catholic: “I don’t have to think! I’m a Catholic!”

So you are a mindless racist or a Catholic if you aren’t for Obama.

And a misogynist  too. (“The war on women”).

And you want to coddle “rich” people.

And what are the Republicans doing about it?

Very little. 😦

“Up on Capitol Hill right now they (Republicans) seem to have exactly the opposite view,” said Obama in a speech before the AFL-CIO’s Building and Construction Trades Department in Washington, D.C.  “They voted to cut spending on transportation infrastructure by almost 30 percent. That means instead of putting more construction workers back on the job, they want to lay more off.”

“Instead of breaking ground on new projects, they want to let existing projects grind to a halt,” he said. “Instead of making the investments we need to get ahead, they’re willing to let us all fall further behind.”

Obama went on to say that the GOP wants to maintain tax cuts for the wealthy instead of spend more on infrastructure.

“Republicans in Congress would rather put fewer of you to work building fewer things than ask millionaires and billionaires to live without massive new tax cuts,” the president said.

“They’ve also set their sights on dismantling unions like yours,” he said. “After all you’ve done to build and protect the middle class, they make the argument you’re responsible for the problems facing the middle class.  Somehow that makes sense to them.”(MRC)

It’s not like the Unions aren’t already in the tank for him to begin with. So this had a different target. 🙂

AG Holder:“We’ve taken decisive action to vigorously enforce the 1965 Voting Rights Act, our nation’s most important civil rights statute, by challenging attempts to disenfranchise many of our fellow citizens.” Holder has criticized voter ID laws as discriminatory, and  the Justice Department is challenging such laws in Texas and South Carolina.

“Across the administration, we’re working in a range of other innovative ways to achieve fairness and expand opportunity – from successfully advocating for the reduction of the unfair and unjust 100-to-1 sentencing disparity between crack and powder cocaine offenses – to launching a new, Department-wide Diversity Management Initiative ,” Holder said.

He urged the NAACP — which he counts as a partner to the Justice Department — to “take up the unfinished struggle for equal opportunity and justice.”

“The creation of that better America is within our grasp,” Holder said.

That’s why I’m facing Contempt of Congress. 🙂

But don’t worry, I will be a martyr to the Liberal Cause.

Then Liberals can’t even deal with “real” people.

Mark Steyn: Have you dated a composite woman? They’re America’s hottest new demographic. As with all the really cool stuff, Barack Obama was doing it years before the rest of us. In “Dreams From My Father”, the world’s all-time most unread best-seller, he spills the inside dope on his composite white girlfriend:

“When we got back to the car she started crying. She couldn’t be black, she said. She would if she could, but she couldn’t. She could only be herself, and wasn’t that enough.”

But being yourself is never going to be enough in the new composite America.

Last week, in an election campaign ad, Barack revealed his latest composite girlfriend — “Julia.”

She’s worse than the old New York girlfriend. She can’t even be herself. In fact, she can’t be anything without massive assistance from Barack every step of the way, from his “Head Start” program at the age of 3 through to his Social Security benefits at the age of 67.

Everything good in her life she owes to him.

When she writes her memoir, it will be thanks to a subvention from the Federal Publishing Assistance Program for Chronically Dependent Women, but you’ll love it: Sweet Dreams From My Sugar Daddy. She’s what the lawyers would call “non composite mentis.” She’s not competent to do a single thing for herself — and, from Barack’s point of view, that’s exactly what he’s looking for in a woman, if only for a one-night stand on a Tuesday in early November.

Then there’s “Elizabeth,” a 62-year-old Democrat Senate candidate from Massachusetts.

Like Barack’s white girlfriend, she couldn’t be black. She would if she could, but she couldn’t. But she could be a composite — a white woman and an Indian woman, all mixed up in one!

Not Indian in the sense of Ashton Kutcher putting on brownface makeup and a fake-Indian accent in his amusing new commercial for the hip lo-fat snack Popchips.

But Indian in the sense of checking the “Are you Native American?” box on the Association of American Law Schools form, which Elizabeth Warren did for much of her adult life.

According to her, she’s part Cherokee and part Delaware. Not in the Joe Biden sense, I hasten to add, but Delaware in the sense of the Indian tribe named in honor of the home state of Big F—kin’ Chief Dances With Plugs.

How does she know she’s a Cherokee maiden? Well, she cites her grandfather’s “high cheekbones” and says the Indian stuff is part of her family “lore.”

Composites of what you want and hope for is much better than dealing with the reality of what you have. Sounds very liberal.

And France just vote for it. And if we vote for it November, we are Greece’d for sure and will never ever be able to recapture the American Dream – It will be stone dead.

But don’t worry, “We are from the Government and we are here to help you”. 🙂

Comedy in the Eye

Obama Humor (?) from White House Correspondence Dinner (a Ministry of Truth yuck fest):

Obama also took a shot at the Republican congressional leadership, whom he thanked “for taking time from their exhausting schedule of not passing any laws” to attend the dinner.

Yeah, like the Student Loan Rate modification that you want to veto because it doesn’t raise taxes and you want to use as a campaign issue rather than solve.

The over 3 years since the US Senate approved a budget.

Very funny, Mr. President. I’m laughing so hard…

The same News Media: ABC News reporter Terry Moran stated that the issue before the court is: “Does Arizona have the constitutional right to make its own immigration law?” This followed anchor Diane Sawyer’s statement in the same news segment that the issue before the justices is “whether people in this country can be stopped by the police [and] asked to prove they are here legally if the police have other reasons to be suspicious of them.” (DC)

The same old lie. But the liberals believe it, so it must be true. 🙂

Jon Lovitz (of SNL fame Talking to Kevin Smith):

“This whole thing with Obama saying the rich don’t pay their taxes is fucking bullshit, and I voted for the guy and I’m a Democrat. What a fucking asshole,” Lovitz said.

“First they say … ‘You can do anything you want. Go for it.’ So then you go for it, and then you make it, and everyone’s like, ‘Fuck you,’” Lovitz said. “[Obama] is the perfect example. He’s amazing. He had nothing … and the guy ends up being at Harvard. He’s the president of the United States. And now he’s like,  ‘Fuck me and everybody who made it like me.’”

Later on in the podcast when Lovitz’s diatribe against Obama really started to heat up, Smith suggested that the government would come and shut down the podcast.

“They’re gonna come in and shut this place down, man. They’re gonna be like: ‘We heard the fourth fucking episode. You won’t leave Obama alone.’ This is an election year, man … they’re gonna come in and make an example of you, man,” Smith said. “The government can do that. They can take your shit away.”

As Smith goaded Lotivz, the lights in the theater abruptly turned off. Smith said, “Whoa, what the fuck happened? Oooh. The government’s here. They turned the lights off!” (DC)

Probably the IRS, The EPA, or the TSA.
Now that’s comedy. 🙂

This Jewish Democrat millionaire comedian earned his fortune by “working his ass off.” In the America that he grew up in, he was told that he could accomplish anything through hard work. His boyhood mentors encouraged him to “go for it,” and he did. And they were right. Through hard work, Lovitz achieved fame, riches and wild success. And after three years of being vilified for that achievement, Jon Lovitz has had enough. He’s disgusted with President Obama.

Why?

Lovitz voted for Obama. He still refers to himself as a Democrat. Presumably, he agrees with Obama on most issues and policy. So why stand in the way of your party in an election year? Lovitz clearly takes Obama’s attacks on the rich personally, but he also sees something sinister and threatening in our president’s class warfare stew.

Beyond traditional party differences, there’s always been a common thread in American politics. Our leaders champion success.

All of the great liberal icons (and every good president in our nation’s history) believed that the greatness of America was due to the greatness of Americans. Our wealth was not due to natural resources or geography or happenstance, and certainly not to our politicians. Our best leaders have always known that future hope and prosperity flows from the utterly unique can-do spirit of our citizens. Enterprise has always been revered by our leaders. Until Obama.

American success is not a triumphant colossus moving in a prescribed, unified motion. American success is a scrappy, buzzing, chaotic mountain of individual strivers leaving wealth in their wake as they make their next move. When President Obama demonizes the most successful of our strivers, he’s not making the world fairer. He’s discouraging the act of striving.

Americans do not hate the rich. They want to join them. Though our citizens’ political parties differ on where wealth should be allocated, the majority of Americans still know that wealth must be created by individuals before it is redistributed. And, as a corollary, rich people are heroes — to be emulated, not degraded.

Jon Lovitz’s wonderful rant was like the scream of a tea kettle. He may have just piped up the other day, but the water has been boiling for a while. His denunciation of anti-rich propaganda is a rejection of Obama’s benighted vision of America. And though many on the right will cheer Lovitz in the coming days, he speaks for a much broader swath of his countrymen. (Yates Walker)

Obama wants to redistribute the “rich’s” wealth (just liberal rich people) to the poor so that they have “fair” shot at being “rich” so he can call them greedy bastards and take their money and give it to the new poor that aren’t now rich and start the cycle all over again.
Whatta guy!
So remember kids, under Obama, if you can make money, either be a liberal where there are no rules or be careful not to make too much or you’ll be a rich, greedy, racist bastard who needs to be destroyed .
“America, what a country!” as 80’s comedian Yakov Smirnoff said often.
The Super-PAC donor Bill Maher: “The other question I would like to ask is does he think he is more successful than Barack Obama? Do you? Barack Obama was born of a single mother on food stamps and he became the first black president of the racist states of America. And Mitt Romney is the son of a rich dad and now he’s a rich dad. Who really is more successful?”

Profound, dude….Profoundly ignorant…

Obama’s team has multiple web-sites, grass roots groups, and constituencies that are collaborating against and outing people because of they’re lack of support for President Obama and his policies. The sites throw around terms like “criminal” when the only crime any of them commit is not believing that the sun rises and sets with the current administration.

Long a tactic of the politically elite left, outing big donors Team Obama appears to be dedicated to stop the flow of cash going to the only reputable challenger left in the race. How very cold-war socialist of him.

It’s no surprise, we saw him lecture the Supreme Court justices openly to their face in the State of the Union address to the nation.

This week it was also reported that campaign personnel have been shadowing the movements of Fla. Senator Marco Rubio, as the first term Senator is attempting to gain positive ground on the very tough issue of illegal immigration. The Obama operatives even calling activists in the Latino communities to attempt to smear the Senator’s efforts and to debunk his motives for desiring to find a solution.

Funny… I thought that’s what President Obama had promised us–solutions. Solutions that would return unemployment to under 8%, when in reality it is closer to 12% (when the shrinkage of the pool of workers eliminated from the numbers for giving up finding work is taken into consideration).

The White House is in a heap of trouble. Their Attorney General may be charged with contempt of Congress at any moment. Their biggest legislative success would be repealed in a heartbeat if 53% of the nation had its way. Their attempts at correcting a bad economy have made it insufferably worse. And now they are making threats, some of them veiled less and less, to anyone who opposes them in their path to re-election.

The shine is off, the luster has faded, the White House knows it and is desperate to do anything it can to stop the bleeding.

It might be the makings of good drama to imagine a White House using government branches, campaign operatives, and manipulable pressures of every kind to wiggle their way back into power. But this is no movie and we the people must realize this.

Obama has channeled the inaction of Jimmy Carter while governing, but in this campaign his new approach begs comparison to Richard M. Nixon–and I’m not sure, but in my lifetime, that’s never been a good thing! (Kevin McCullough)

Prove The Mayans Wrong

For the Record on upcoming Republican “obstructionist” ads and ads that say Republicans WANT to crush College Students over the loan rates because you surely won’t here this from the Ministry of Truth:

Republicans defied a veto threat and the House voted Friday to prevent federal loan costs from doubling for millions of college students. The vote gave the GOP a momentary election-year triumph on a bill that has become enmeshed in partisan battles over the economy, women’s issues and President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul.

The measure’s 215-195 passage was largely symbolic because the package is going nowhere in the Democratic-dominated Senate. Both parties agree students’ interest costs should not rise, but they are clashing along a familiar fault line over how to cover the $6 billion tab: Republicans want spending cuts and Democrats want higher revenues.(revenues=Taxes).

Democrats wrote a version of the bill, paid for by ending subsidies for oil and gas companies.

Big Oil is, after all, Evil Incarnate.

But this whole created mess is the centerpiece of the President’s strategy to gin up young, naive, stupid people to vote for him. It can’t be over this fast. He can’t have the Republicans being given credit for it. He has so much more fear and loathing to spread!

FEAR IS HOPE!

So they obstruct them, then blame them for not passing a bill that does it there way. After all, it’s their way or the highway!

And the Republicans keep “obstructing” them on that.

Damn them. 🙂

Democrats trained their fire on the Republican plan to pay for the bill by abolishing a preventive health fund created by Obama’s 2010 revamping of the health care system. Democrats said that program especially helped women by allocating money for cancer screening and other initiatives and that eliminating it was only the latest GOP blow against women _ a charge Republicans hotly contested.

“Give me a break,” roared House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, to rousing cheers from Republican lawmakers. “This is the latest plank in the so-called war on women, entirely created by my colleagues across the aisle for political gain.”

Democrats voted solidly earlier this year to take money from the preventive health fund to help keep doctors’ Medicare reimbursements from dropping. Obama’s own budget in February proposed cutting $4 billion from the same fund to pay for some of his priorities.

Since the early days of this year’s GOP presidential contest, Democrats have been accusing Republicans of targeting women by advocating curbs on contraceptives and other policies. Polls show women leaning heavily toward Obama and Democrats would like to stoke that margin.

In its veto message, the White House argued that “women in particular” would be helped by the prevention fund and added, “This is a politically motivated proposal and not the serious response that the problem facing America’s college students deserves.” (Townhall)

Never Let a Crisis Go to Waste! 🙂

2008: The Obama campaign spokesman, Bill Burton, accused the Clinton team of playing “the politics of fear” just like George W. Bush.

Burton, now the head of the Democratic super PAC, Priorities USA (one of the main backers of ObamaCare), said at the time: “When Senator Clinton voted with President Bush to authorize the war in Iraq, she made a tragically bad decision that diverted our military from the terrorists who attacked us, and allowed Osama bin Laden to escape and regenerate his terrorist network. It’s ironic that she would borrow the President’s tactics in her own campaign and invoke bin Laden to score political points. We already have a President who plays the politics of fear, and we don’t need another.

Now: We have Throwing Grandma off a cliff, race-baiting, racial division, and so much more.

FEAR IS HOPE

In a new web video titled “One Chance,” the Obama team features former President Bill Clinton praising Obama for deciding to launch the strike last year. “What path would Mitt Romney have taken?” the clip asks.

Mind you, like the “silver spoon” comments it’s all implied. He wants to led your horse to his kool-aid so you’ll drink it.

While I am not the biggest fan of Romney, I am totally against Obama and these kind of tactics are just the opening salvo in an all-out Nuclear Armageddon that the Democrats and their Liberal Media Minions will launch.

After all, all that they have worked for for 90 years is at stake. ObamaCare is potentially still at stake depending on how it goes with the Supreme Court. And if goes against them then they have to double down to win so they can pass it again!

Don’t doubt that. It’s the Holy Grail of Liberalism. They won’t give up quite so easily. All they have to do is win again, replace at least 1 conservative Justice on the Supreme Court and they are off to the Totalitarian races!

So expect nothing less than total and absolute Nuclear Annihilation.

So you pander to base fears. You pander to Hispanics big time (gotta have that Illegal alien Vote – sorry the Liberal want to ban that phrase to because it’s “inhumane” – perfect crimethink). You get the stupid and the naive to vote for you. You get as many independents as possible to stay home and not vote for anyone as you can so you can get your base+the stupid+ the naive to overwhelm the rational.

Vote for me, The Other Guy’s an Asshole!!!

And it starts with the ludicrous notion that a President presented with info to kill or capture the #1 enemy of the country would pass on it.

I think the only reason Obama went for it is because if it leaked out that he didn’t that it would be bad politiks. After all President Clinton passed on Bin Laden several times in the 1990s (but that didn’t hurt him because the liberal media covered it up and they could have for Obama but the internet is much more pervasive now than than it was and it would have leaked out somehow).

“Thanks to President Obama, bin Laden is dead and General Motors is alive. You have to ask yourself, if Gov. Romney had been president, could he have used the same slogan — in reverse?” Biden said

Yeah, and The UAW thanks you Mr. Vice President. After all, that was what it was all about in the first place– Unions. The Stimulus was also about Unions.
If you aren’t in a Union (which the vast majority of people aren’t) then you don’t have compulsory “donations” to the Democrat Party as part of your salary and that has to change.
Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul said Friday. “It’s now sad to see the Obama campaign seek to use an event that unified our country to once again divide us, in order to try to distract voters’ attention from the failures of his administration.”

But don’t worry, the fear campaign has only begun to ratchet up and the swagger of “I got him and you didn’t” is only just beginning.
Before it’s over the Mayans will be right.

WSJ: Try this thought experiment: You decide to donate money to Mitt Romney. You want change in the Oval Office, so you engage in your democratic right to send a check.

Several days later, President Barack Obama, the most powerful man on the planet, singles you out by name. His campaign brands you a Romney donor, shames you for “betting against America,” and accuses you of having a “less-than-reputable” record. The message from the man who controls the Justice Department (which can indict you), the SEC (which can fine you), and the IRS (which can audit you), is clear: You made a mistake donating that money.

Richard Nixon’s “enemies list” appalled the country for the simple reason that presidents hold a unique trust. Unlike senators or congressmen, presidents alone represent all Americans. Their powers—to jail, to fine, to bankrupt—are also so vast as to require restraint. Any president who targets a private citizen for his politics is de facto engaged in government intimidation and threats. This is why presidents since Nixon have carefully avoided the practice.

Save Mr. Obama, who acknowledges no rules. This past week, one of his campaign websites posted an item entitled “Behind the curtain: A brief history of Romney’s donors.” In the post, the Obama campaign named and shamed eight private citizens who had donated to his opponent. Describing the givers as all having “less-than-reputable records,” the post went on to make the extraordinary accusations that “quite a few” have also been “on the wrong side of the law” and profiting at “the expense of so many Americans.”

These are people like Paul Schorr and Sam and Jeffrey Fox, investors who the site outed for the crime of having “outsourced” jobs. T. Martin Fiorentino is scored for his work for a firm that forecloses on homes. Louis Bacon (a hedge-fund manager), Kent Burton (a “lobbyist”) and Thomas O’Malley (an energy CEO) stand accused of profiting from oil. Frank VanderSloot, the CEO of a home-products firm, is slimed as a “bitter foe of the gay rights movement.”

These are wealthy individuals, to be sure, but private citizens nonetheless. Not one holds elected office. Not one is a criminal. Not one has the barest fraction of the position or the power of the U.S. leader who is publicly assaulting them.

“We don’t tolerate presidents or people of high power to do these things,” says Theodore Olson, the former U.S. solicitor general. “When you have the power of the presidency—the power of the IRS, the INS, the Justice Department, the DEA, the SEC—what you have effectively done is put these guys’ names up on ‘Wanted’ posters in government offices.” Mr. Olson knows these tactics, having demanded that the 44th president cease publicly targeting Charles and David Koch of Koch Industries, which he represents. He’s been ignored.

The real crime of the men, as the website tacitly acknowledges, is that they have given money to Mr. Romney. This fundraiser of a president has shown an acute appreciation for the power of money to win elections, and a cutthroat approach to intimidating those who might give to his opponents.

He’s targeted insurers, oil firms and Wall Street—letting it be known that those who oppose his policies might face political or legislative retribution. He lectured the Supreme Court for giving companies more free speech and (falsely) accused the Chamber of Commerce of using foreign money to bankroll U.S. elections. The White House even ginned up an executive order (yet to be released) to require companies to list political donations as a condition of bidding for government contracts. Companies could bid but lose out for donating to Republicans. Or they could quit donating to the GOP—Mr. Obama’s real aim.

The White House has couched its attacks in the language of “disclosure” and the argument that corporations should not have the same speech rights as individuals. But now, says Rory Cooper of the Heritage Foundation, “he’s doing the same at the individual level, for anyone who opposes his policies.” Any giver, at any level, risks reprisal from the president of the United States.

It’s getting worse because the money game is not going as Team Obama wants. Super PACs are helping the GOP to level the playing field against Democratic super-spenders. Prominent financial players are backing Mr. Romney. The White House’s new strategy is thus to delegitimize Mr. Romney (by attacking his donors) as it seeks to frighten others out of giving.

The Obama campaign has justified any action on the grounds that it has a right to “hold the eventual Republican nominee accountable,” but this is a dodge. Politics is rough, but a president has obligations that transcend those of a candidate. He swore an oath to protect and defend a Constitution that gives every American the right to partake in democracy, free of fear of government intimidation or disfavored treatment. If Mr. Obama isn’t going to act like a president, he bolsters the argument that he doesn’t deserve to be one.

If I can’t get you to vote for me, I can at least try to get you to not vote at all.

But if you vote for the wrong team, expect to feel my wrath if I’m re-elected for I am vengeful God!

We already have a President who plays the politics of fear, that’s why we need to get rid of him.

And the only way is to wade through an all out Nuclear Armageddon of Liberal attacks and vote him out.

Be a Proud Enemy of This State.

And prove the Mayans wrong. 🙂

No They Cant! The Sequel

John Stossel: President Obama said in his State of the Union Address that he is putting colleges on notice to lower costs. A few days later, he spoke to students at the University of Michigan, with a promise of more federal aid. Politicians claim they can make college affordable. No They Can’t!

In the last 30 years, inflation is up 160%, but tuition costs are up 750%.

It’s because colleges have no incentive to cut prices when students can get money from government. Federal aid, adjusted for inflation, increased from 32 billion in 1987, to 169 billion in 2010.

Government tells us, “Here’s the gap between what you can afford and what the college is charging, we will now make up that gap. And then the college just inches up the tuition a little bit higher,” says Naomi Riley author of The Faculty Lounges: and Other Reasons Why You Won’t Get the College Education You Paid For.

Colleges don’t use all or even most of that money in the classroom. We were stunned at the gyms and dining halls that serve lobster and sushi. Check out the University of Missouri, which is proud of its spa, rock climbing wall and “Tiger Grotto” – an elaborate pool complex.

Government creates perverse incentives. Colleges compete on prestige and luxury amenities, not their price tag. Administrators don’t worry about high tuition costs because their customers have government subsidies.

And so what if they graduate with a mountain of debt and their job prospect are sh*t. They government will take of them too. And if ObamaCare survives they can be on their parents Health Insurance until they are 26.

And they’ve been raised by the liberal socialists to believe they are entitled to be look after just because.

So who cares, the Government will take care of you. You may remember that The Obama Administration took over the  student loans because they were going bankrupt.

2010: President Obama will sign a bill today that ends a 45-year-old program under which banks and other private-sector lenders such as Sallie Mae receive a federal subsidy for making government-guaranteed college loans.

Instead, the U.S. Department of Education – which already makes roughly a third of these loans through its direct-lending program – will make 100 percent of them starting July 1.

Students who previously had to choose a private-sector lender for their guaranteed loans will now have only one choice: the government. (SFGATE)

But the newly passed legislation does nothing to address the rapidly rising cost of education–and adds to our national debt. (Forbes)

A “single payer” system, you might say. 🙂

And costs are up 5 times inflation because colleges only incentive is to spend more to make college look like an French Riviera resort.

Costs? Who gives a crap about costs. The Government is paying for it.

Then they graduate and reality hits them in the face.

Students who graduated from college in 2010 with student loans owed an average of $25,250, up 5 percent from the previous year, according to a report scheduled for release Thursday.

The average debt — once again the highest on record — came as the class of 2010 faced an unemployment rate for new college graduates of 9.1 percent, the highest in recent years, according to the report by the Project on Student Debt, which pointed out that unemployment rates for those without college degrees were still higher.

The median starting salary for students graduating from four-year colleges in 2009 and 2010 was $27,000, down from $30,000 for those who entered the work force in 2006 to 2008, according to a study released on Wednesday by the John J. Heldrich Center for Workforce Development at Rutgers University. That is a decline of 10 percent, even before taking inflation into account.

35 percent of unemployed college graduates have been without a job for a year or longer. And, the long-term unemployment rate for those 25 and older is almost the same across the board—regardless of educational level.

Sidenote: remember, most report unemployment statistics don’t count people who have given up completely looking for a job.

CNN Last week: But the competition is steep, with employers reporting that they have received nearly 33 applications for every job posting, up from 21 applications per posting last year.

Enter Occupiers. “Entitled” little skulls of  unemployed (and many cases unemployable narcissistic and anarchist) socialist mush who have had reality hit them in the face and they just want to whine about it.

New York Times: The high cost of college and the growing debt burden of student loans have become increasingly potent political issues in recent years, high on the agenda of Occupy Wall Street and related protests across the country.

And then there’s the next line of graduate-in-waiting: Teenagers

The high teen unemployment rate, which came in at 23.8% for February (2012). Their unemployment rate remains above 20% for the 40th month in a row, the first time this has happened since the government started keeping records in 1948.

And since Obama was elected the first by getting naive 20-somethings to believe in his Messianic self he has to throw bones to his peeps, especially as their support has cooled over the years because a lot of them are not college students anymore but unemployed and underemployed debtors.

So he’ll need a new crop of naive morons to vote for him.

“Student debt goes up and it doesn’t ever go down,” said Mark Kantrowitz, the publisher of Finaid.org and Fastweb.com, two Web sites that offer advice on paying for college. “We’re clearly heading in the direction of decreased college affordability. Among lower-income students, the canaries in the cage that squawk first, we’re already seeing a decline in enrollment in four-year colleges and an increase in lower-cost two-year institutions,” he said.

Mr. Kantrowitz estimated that for the class of 2011, average debt was $27,200 — or, if parent loans were included, $34,000.

This is the fifth consecutive year in which the public universities that serve most students raised their tuition at a faster rate than the far more expensive private universities. (NYT)

So that’s why Obama has proposed….<<Drum Roll>> SPENDING EVEN MORE on student loan programs!!!

Now, I know that’s a shocker! 🙂

So when in Debt SPEND EVEN MORE!

When the system is bleeding red ink and it’s failing SPEND EVEN MORE!

When your house is burning down throw more Napalm on the Fire that will help!!

Liberal Economics at it’s finest.

But don’t worry, It’s all the Republicans! and “the rich”‘s Fault! 🙂

The Cost

Reform: Remember when Nancy Pelosi promised that Americans would fall in love with ObamaCare once it was the law of the land? Turns out barely half of Democrats now like it.

The Kaiser Family Foundation has tracked public support for ObamaCare since the law was passed. It’s never been very popular, but now support has hit a new low of 34% due in part to erosion in Obama’s own party. The month ObamaCare passed, more than three of four Democrats approved of it. Now, just over half do, and only one in five has a “very favorable” view. Even worse, just 27% of Democrats think the law will make them and their families better off.

But how can this be, loyalists ask, when ObamaCare is already helping people? Just ask any “adult child” on his parents’ health plan, or all those small businesses benefiting from the insurance premium tax credit?

But as each month brings new Obama-Care failures, fewer Democrats seem to be buying such baloney.

Thanks to “reform,” for example, insurance premiums shot up 9.5% this year, reversing a decade-long trend toward lower annual increases. Just a few days ago, the White House was forced to abandon the law’s long-term care insurance provision because it was financially unworkable. And it’s had to pass out more than 1,500 waivers to prevent millions from losing coverage. The temporary “high risk” pools meant to help those with pre-existing conditions are a bust.

And we haven’t even mentioned the pernicious and wildly unpopular centerpiece of ObamaCare — the mandate that everyone buy insurance or else. This is scheduled to start in 26 months, unless the Supreme Court finds it unconstitutional.

Every Republican presidential candidate has called for repealing this mess before it can do any more damage. Repeal will never happen, though, as long as Obama sits in the White House. And should the GOP fail to win the next election, by 2017 it will be all but impossible to unscramble the ObamaCare egg.

Fortunately, the more the public understands the stakes involved, the more likely Obama will be safely back in Chicago in 2013, while a Republican president happily flushes ObamaCare down the drain.

When President Obama announced changes to rules on repaying college student loans, he said his goal was to ease the financial burden of getting a degree.

“We’ve made it a priority to make college more affordable, reduce your student loan debt,” he told students in Denver, unveiling his plans to make it easier for college graduates to get out from under their debt obligations.

But if the history of college financial aid (and other government attempts to protect consumers from costs) is any guide, Obama’s plan will likely backfire.

Over the past three decades, financial aid has rocketed up 438% after inflation, says the College Board. That’s largely due to huge hikes in more than a dozen federal grant and loan programs.

“By providing aid and subsidized loans, the government is trying to protect students, but the effect is perverse,” said Jane Shaw, president of the John W. Pope Center for Higher Education Policy in Raleigh, N.C. “They increase demand and enable colleges to hike tuitions virtually without restraint.”

An increase in the average student loan of $1 was associated with net tuition that’s 93 cents higher at public schools and 55 cents higher at private schools, according to Andrew Gillen of the Center for College Affordability and Productivity.

A 2007 study by University of Oregon economists concluded that colleges “tend to absorb most federal student aid by increasing their tuition revenue,” according to the Chronicle of Higher Education.

That doesn’t necessarily mean students are getting a better education. From 1993 to 2007, per-student spending on administration climbed twice as fast as spending on instruction, a Goldwater Institute study found.

The same phenomenon has occurred in health care, where government for decades has worked to shield consumers from direct costs, fueling health care cost inflation by encouraging demand and giving doctors and hospitals greater license to raise prices.

Today, the government pays directly for over 44% of care, according to data compiled by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

And federal tax policy encourages generous employer-provided insurance by deducting premium costs from taxable income, a $100 billion-plus annual subsidy, according to the Joint Committee on Taxation. The 2,156 state benefit mandates further insulate consumers from the direct costs.

Consumers now pay just 12% of the nation’s health care tab out of pocket vs. nearly half in 1960, fueling much of the nation’s health care inflationary spiral.

“Providers aren’t competing for business based on price,” said John Goodman, president of the Dallas-based National Center for Policy Analysis. “And if they’re not competing on price, they have no reason to lower cost.”

And education and health care fixes almost always add to these existing subsidies, providing still more inflationary fuel.

ObamaCare will further cut out-of-pocket spending by expanding insurance coverage and requiring more generous benefits.

When it comes to college education, the last three presidents all passed huge increases in aid, with each boasting that theirs was the biggest investment in college “since the G.I. Bill.”

Shaw said, “Government will keep doing what it’s doing until there’s a broad understanding by the public of the adverse effects produced by these attempts to shield consumers from costs.”(IBD)

So keep ripping the band-aid off slowly and it will hurt longer. But at least, that way the Democrats can mile the blame someone else for it longer. Now that’s a up-side! 🙂

While speaking at Virginia Democratic Senate Caucus fundraiser today, former President Bill Clinton claimed that no successful country on earth operates on the notion that government is the problem. He then listed a variety of things that the government “provides” for the people, including affordable healthcare, economic opportunity, education opportunity and “getting to the future.”

Considering test scores have decreased significantly since the Department of Education was founded, healthcare premiums have skyrocketed with the passing of ObamaCare and the economy isn’t growing because of smothering government regulation, I’d say Clinton is a bit off the  mark on this one. (Katie Pavlich).

Now say it with me y’all: IT”S THE REPUBLICAN’s FAULT! IT’s THE “RICH”‘s Fault! IT’s THE TEA PARTY’s FAULT!

Ta Da! Problem solved! 🙂

Lady Liberty’s Last Days

Lady Liberty, that beacon of light and hope, has a potentially terminal disease, called Liberalism.

Tomorrow, likely, the Democrats will vote to end the Constitutional Republic that America has been since 1776.

But it’s for your own good.

The Government knows better.

Last Thursday, the California Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board voted to set up a committee to examine whether condoms should be required on all pornographic film shoots.

California has run out of money, but it hasn’t yet run out of things to regulate. (IBD)

A bill introduced this week by Brooklyn Assemblyman Felix Ortiz would ban use of salt in every dish, in every drink, on every plate, in every restaurant, in every single part of New York State.

“No owner or operator of a restaurant in this state shall use salt in any form in the preparation of any food for consumption by customers of such restaurant, including food prepared to be consumed on the premises of such restaurant or off of such premises,” the bill, A. 10129 , states in part.”

Violators would be hit with a $1,000 fine for each salty dish.

Ortiz says the ban is designed to save lives, and would save billions of dollars in health care costs.

And I just saw this guy on “America Live” yesterday on FOX and when the host joked about cutting, fat and cholesterol and other unhealthy things, he agreed that should happen to and this was just the start for him.

The government should regulate what you eat, because you’re not to be trusted.

And it’s for your own good.

Sony Pictures Entertainment Chief Executive Michael Lynton called on the nation’s biggest circuits to think about the waist lines of their customers, not just their own bottom lines.(LA Times)

He’s advocating doing away with Butter on popcorn.

The salt ban prompted my to post this on a message board:

Since the Liberals are so intent on the Government saving everyone from themselves I think
Obama needs to takeover the Grocery Stores and close all Convenience Stores and Fast Food.
They are after all, sell things that are bad for you.
Think of it, the government can make sure you eat healthy and nothing but healthy.
They could issue you a card that has all your “best for you” foods on it and then you won’t be allowed to buy anything that is bad for you.
Think what it could do for ObamaCare and Health Care costs.
The government will decide what’s good for you and you have to eat it.
Also, the government programs like Food Stamps can be expanded so no one goes hungry ever again.
They can make it Mandatory.

Then they take over the Restaurants  because you can’t be trusted.
And Fast Food will have to be outlawed because they are pure evil.

Utopia awaits.
And you’ll never have to think again about your health, the government has you covered.

Cooking Shows will have to be government controlled.

And We’ll have the Food Police to arrest black marketers selling products and to make sure all government regulations are enforced.

Embrace the Freedom from thought and stress.

**

Then after I write it I wonder about government subsidized Gym memberships, for all those unhealthy people who can’t afford it.

That’s unfair too.  (in the Liberal world).

You have a right to be healthy and those evil corporate bastards are making you fat and unhappy. It’s just wrong…. 😦

And with the Government eliminating every Student Loan in the country that is in Private hands and giving it all over to the Bank of North Dakota, a College Education as a right can’t be far off.

It’s for your own good.

We’ll have a “healthy”, “well-educated”, well-cared for, populace.

What could be wrong with that?

How about Freedom.

Overrated in the Liberal world.

You’re not smart enough to be free.

The government must protect you from yourself.

You will have the freedom to agree with them, or else.

And with Cap and Trade, Census gerrymandering, and Amnesty they will try and control everything and everyone else.

But it will be for your own good.

You can’t be trusted.

Meanwhile, ObamaCare will result in the creation of at least 16,500 new jobs. Doctors? Nurses? Ha! Dream on, suckers. That’s 16,500 new IRS agents, who’ll be needed to check whether you — yes, you, Mr. and Mrs. Hopendope of 27 Hopeychangey Gardens — comply with the 15 tax increases and dozens of new federal mandates about to be “deemed” into existence.

This will be the biggest expansion of the IRS since World War Two — and that’s change you can believe in. This is what “health” “care” “reform” boils down to: fewer doctors, longer wait times, but more bureaucrats.

So can the IRS Health Care Enforcement Division be far from reality?

The Food Police.

The Energy Police.

The Internet Police.

The TV police.

The Education Police.

Welcome to the new America of your God (and President for life when Liberal repeal the Constitutional Amendment on Term Limits) Barack Hussein Obama.

It’s not like  Liberals take the Constitution or the Consent of The Governed seriously. 😦

That’s how dire it really is folks.

The Second American Revolution has to begin.

You have no choice.

Unless, you want to prostrate and kiss the Emperor’s ring.

Mark Steyn:  Obama is government, and government is Obama. That’s all he knows and all he’s ever known. You elected to the highest office in the land a man who’s never run a business or created wealth or made a payroll, and for his entire adult life has hung out with guys who’ve demonized such grubby activities. Obama’s Cabinet has less experience of private business than any in the last century. What it knows is government, and government’s default mode is to grow, and grow.

Look around you, take it all in. From now on, it gets worse. If you have kids, they’ll live in smaller homes, drive smaller cars, live smaller lives. If you don’t have kids, you better hope your neighbors do, because someone needs to spawn a working population large enough to pay for the unsustainable entitlements the Obama party has suckered you into thinking you’re entitled to.

The unfunded liabilities of current entitlements are $100 trillion. Try typing that onto your pocket calculator. You can’t. There isn’t enough room for all the zeroes.

$100,000,000,000,000

Obama and Pelosi are strong-arming swing-state congressmen into taking one for the deem. It’s appropriate that it should take banana-republic maneuvers to ram this through, because it’s about government so powerful it can make up the rules as it goes along. Maybe regulators should roll a giant condom over the Capitol before it fatally infects the rest of us.

“No people will tamely surrender their Liberties, nor can any be easily subdued, when knowledge is diffused and Virtue is preserved. On the Contrary, when People are universally ignorant, and debauched in their Manners, they will sink under their own weight without the Aid of foreign Invaders.”— Samuel Adams

It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people’s minds.”–Samuel Adams

For in reason, all government without the consent of the governed is the very definition of slavery“.–Jonathan Swift

2010 is not just a choice between Republicans and Democrats. 2010 is not just a choice between liberals and conservatives. 2010 is a referendum on the very identity of our nation.” –Florida Gubernatorial Candidate (and Tea Party Activist)

“When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.”
Thomas Jefferson

“They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.
Benjamin Franklin

“When men yield up the privilege of thinking, the last shadow of liberty quits the horizon.”
Thomas Paine

“The hate of men will pass, and dictators die, and the power they took from the people will return to the people. And so long as men die, liberty will never perish.”
Charlie Chaplin

So let us all hold the flame of liberty, so that one day it will live again.
