Same old Story

Fiscal Policy: Stop us if you’ve heard this one: Republicans propose pro-growth tax reform to boost the economy, and liberals indignantly shout out: “tax cut for the rich.”

Everyone knows the current tax code is a millstone around the neck of our economy. Almost all the Republicans running for president have admirable tax plans, and one of the best is the flat tax proposed by Texas Sen. Ted Cruz that would lower business taxes to 16% on net business income and 10% on personal income — wages, salaries, capital gains and dividends.

The Tax Foundation says it would boost wages, output and net income about 10% over the next decade — which is an extra $2.5 trillion in GDP and millions of new jobs.

Right on cue, the leftwing Tax Policy Center has trashed the plan, calling it a tax cut for the rich and an $8.6 trillion increase in the debt over 10 years. And the lapdogs of the liberal media ate it up.

The TPC has about zero credibility on these issues. Its tax models predicted the Reagan tax cuts would lead to massive revenue losses and that the Clinton-era capital gains cut would blow a hole in the deficit. In both cases revenues didn’t shrink — they swelled. And the share of taxes paid by the rich soared in each case.

But the TPC’s shattered crystal ball doesn’t let history get in the way of a good story — especially if the theme is class warfare.

The center relies on what is called “static analysis.”  It assumes the economy will not grow much if tax rates are lowered and savings and investment are encouraged through a less-punitive tax code. But if the tax rate on working and investing is lowered, then expect more work and more investment. History bears this out again and again.

TPC says high-income taxpayers would get an average tax cut in 2017 of about $6,100, while the poor would save only $46. But most of the poor in the bottom one-third pay almost no income tax at all. How do you cut income taxes for people who don’t pay income taxes?

Nothing could be less fair than our current wreckage of a tax code. The people at the bottom of the income ladder don’t have jobs, don’t have paychecks and don’t have income outside of welfare benefits. The TPC can never seem to figure out what Ted Cruz said when he introduced his flat tax: “The best way to help the poor is with a job — not a government handout.” (IBD)

The 1%

The Sith Lords of The Left (except when they are Democrats or Socialists like George Soros then they are ok). 🙂

Debunking the Myth of the “1%.” Who’s Really “The Rich?”

Rich bastards! It’s time to spread the wealth around! If you’re part of the 1%, you’re part of the problem!

Or… is it?

Perhaps the greatest economic misconception of the 21st Century is the idea that 1% of the world’s population are greedy jerks who keep the other 99% of the earth living in poor houses made of mud and tears.

Think the top 1% are billionaires? Nope. Millionaires? Nada. Well, they’re at least cracking $750K, right? Wrong again. In fact, YOU are probably far more affulent than you realize. And you disgust me for it. Let’s look at the numbers, American style:

If you make more than $100,000, you’re in the top 20%.

If you make more than $149,000, you’re in the top 10%.

If you make more than $522,000, BINGO, you’re a 1%’er. You’re probably a greedy jerk too, so screw you.

This is just a guess, but even if you don’t fall into one of these categories, chances are, you at least know somebody who does fall into any of the above categories. Which makes you a second-hand 1 percenter. That’s like a second-hand smoker only more vile. You probably don’t even think of those friends as being rich, but they are compared to the rest of the world. And these are the people leftists tell us are causing all the world’s problems, including the diminishing bee population (not really, but maybe one day), who need to do more for the country by paying their “fair share.” Except, that top 1% of earners already pays more in taxes than the bottom 90% (that’d be EVERYONE making less than $149K) COMBINED. Behold, graphs:

who are the wealthy

Oh, and by the way? If you’re under 31 and make over $300,000 – you’re in the top 0.1%. For realzies. Check out this chart from The Atlantic:

wealthy

But let’s take things a step further. If we expand the comparison globally, you become waaaaay wealthier than imagined. Like Scrooge McDuck from Ducktales, swimming in a vault of coin.

The average yearly income on a global scale? $1,225.

Yeah. You’re rich. Bastard. How does it feel to cause global warming? Even if “your” money is sent to you on a bi-weekly basis from the US treasury… you’re rich. And kind of a succubus, but that’s for another article.

If you make more than a whopping $34,000 a year? You are in the top 1% of the world’s wealthy.

Over half of the world’s 1%’ers (those making $34K+), live in the United States.

the wealthy

Maybe you’re not so bad off after all, Mr. college hipster making $15 serving coffee, huh? Maybe life isn’t so bad climbing the corporate ladder for “just” $75K a year, is it? Also, a nutless monkey could do your job. You mad? Please leave room for cream.

Saying the wealthy need to pay more (paging Bernie Sanders), is really saying we all need to pay more.  Because really, you’re rich. If you’re an American, you’re rich. Like, super, ridiculously rich. Period. Also, you have running water, a flushing toilet, probably a phone of some kind, a flat screen, and maybe a Netflix subscription. So please, stop the whining. It’s getting old.

SO, how rich are YOU?

Here’s a fun tool created by Giving What we Can: you punch in your income and household size, they tell you how rich you are compared to the rest of the world. You’ll probably be shocked. And that’s a good thing. Seriously. Go try it. Like, right now, money-bags.

Go ahead, I Dare you! 🙂

Lesson? If you’re living in the USA, you’re a greedy one-percenter and a bastard for it. Screw you with your flushing toilet and your five figure annual income. All this comes down to dollars, common sense, and perspective. The United States is a bastion of wealth, even for the “poor” Americans binge watching Orange is the New Black. Our top income earners aren’t paying their “fair share,” they’re paying YOUR share too. So get the numbers, memorize them, and every time you hear a gender-studies hipster talk to you about the one percent and shares and fairness and the latest iPhone, tell them about the real facts. If they’ll listen. (Steve Crowder)

But we all know that Liberals do not respond maturely to facts. 🙂

And if Democrats didn’t have the Envy Card, The Hate Card they would be just a husk of nothing floating on the winds. 🙂

But I want us to be super careful when we use the language “hard worker,” because I actually keep an image of folks working in cotton fields on my office wall, because it is a reminder about what hard work looks like. So, I feel you that he’s a hard worker. I do. But in the context of relative privilege…”- MSNBC’s Melissa Harris-Perry.

And remember in  the FY 2015 the government took in more tax money than anytime in it’s history and still ran a deficit!

Feed ME!

Must be election season or a distraction again, time for more Class Warfare!

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest confirmed Monday that President Obama is “very interested” in the idea of raising taxes through unitlateral executive action.

“The president certainly has not indicated any reticence in using his executive authority to try and advance an agenda that benefits  <HIS AGENDA>middle class Americans,” Earnest said in response to a question about Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) calling on Obama to raise more than $100 billion in taxes through IRS executive action.

Oh good, the Socialist Senator calling for more taxes from the Socialist President!

“Now I don’t want to leave you with the impression that there is some imminent announcement, there is not, at least that I know of,” Earnest continued. “But the president has asked his team to examine the array of executive authorities that are available to him to try to make progress on his goals. So I am not in a position to talk in any detail at this point, but the president is very interested in this avenue generally,” Earnest finished.

FOR HE IS KING IS HE NOT and like Kings of old he wants more money and he doesn’t care how he gets it he just wants what he wants!

Sanders sent a letter to Treasury Secretary Jack Lew Friday identifying a number of executive actions he believes the IRS could take, without any input from Congress, that would close loopholes currently used by corporations. In the past, IRS lawyers have been hesitant to use executive actions to raise significant amounts of revenue, but that same calculation has change in other federal agencies since Obama became president.

The King doesn’t need Congress. He doesn’t The Constitution.  His power is supreme, for he is King is he not? 🙂

Obama’s preferred option would be for Congress to pass a corporate tax hike that would fund liberal infrastructure projects like mass transit. But if Congress fails to do as Obama wishes, just as Congress has failed to pass the immigration reforms that Obama prefers, Obama could take actions unilaterally instead. This past November, for example, Obama gave work permits, Social Security Numbers, and drivers licenses to approximately 4 million illegal immigrants.

Those immigration actions, according to the Congressional Budget Office, will raise federal deficits by $8.8 billion over the next ten years.

A new Associated Press-GfK poll finds that 68 percent of Americans think the wealthy don’t pay enough federal taxes, and that 60 percent believe the middle class pays too much — leading media mavens to conclude that voters support President Obama’s proposals to raise investment taxes on the super-rich and spread the wealth around to people who are lower on the economic ladder.

Well, the Ministry of Truth has done a good job with their class warfare rhetoric. Getting the stupid young before they know what’s about to hit them!

It’s no great surprise that middle class voters are feeling overtaxed. This has been a dreadfully slow recovery, and millions in the middle class are treading water at best. Since the recession ended, median family income has fallen by about $1,500 after adjusting for inflation, so the idea of taxing someone else’s paycheck sounds mighty appealing.

Raising tax rates on the rich hurts the economy. It takes money right out from under small and medium-sized business owners, leaving them with less for hiring more workers.

But the idea that the rich aren’t paying any taxes is based on misinformation fed to voters. Politicians and the media have consistently told voters that the wealthiest among us – Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Tom Brady, Taylor Swift – are paying very little income tax compared to the rest of us.

We are told by no less than Barack Obama that these millionaires and billionaires have all the money, but they don’t bear much, if any, of the burden to pay for the schools, the roads, the police, the welfare benefits and the rest of the tasks of government.

Mr. Obama wants to raise the top 1 percent’s income tax payments to level the playing field and enhance tax “fairness.” So it’s time for a reality test. Here are the latest statistics from the IRS for 2011:

The top 1 percent earned 19 percent of the total income and paid 35 percent of the federal income tax. So one of 100 shouldered 35 percent of the burden. And the average of the five most recently reported years (2007-2011) is closer to 40 percent.

Several years ago, Al Sharpton, said the “top 1 percent in this country pays very much less than 10 percent” of the income tax. Most Americans no doubt believe the same thing. Mr. Sharpton’s reward for inaccuracy? A gig on MSNBC.

The table also shows that the top 10 percent pay two-thirds of the income tax, and the bottom 50 percent —Americans with an income below the median — pay just 3 percent. The federal income tax, according to a recent study by the Tax Foundation, is one of the most progressive tax systems in the world.

Scott Hodge, the Tax Foundation’s president, says: “Almost no other industrialized nation depends on the rich to pay the bills more than the United States.”

What about the super-duper rich — the multimillionaires and billionaires? Warren Buffett has famously said that he pays a smaller share of his income in taxes than his secretary. But when properly accounting for the taxes paid and income earned, the top 0.1 percent paid 16 percent of the income tax. So the top 0.1% paid an aggregate amount more than five times that of half the population. That isn’t enough?

President Obama wants to raise the capital gains and dividend taxes to 28 percent — almost twice what they were when he entered office. He wants an effective inheritance tax rate of over 50 percent. It’s a Robin Hood strategy.

But raising tax rates on the rich is a proven failed policy. History proves that cutting tax rates — not raising them — is a better way to get money out of the rich.

In 1980, when the highest income tax rate was 70 percent, the richest 1 percent paid roughly 19 percent of the income tax.

In 2007, when the top tax rate was 35 percent, the tax share of the richest 1 percent was more than twice that amount.

How did that happen? Raising tax rates on the rich hurts the economy. It takes money right out from under small and medium-sized business owners, leaving them with less for hiring more workers.

The best way to soak the rich is through low tax rates on work and investment, which create a prosperous economy with rising incomes for everyone.

You don’t have to believe me. Listen to John F. Kennedy, who said at the New York Economics Club in 1962 that “it is a paradoxical truth that tax rates are too high today and tax revenues are too low and the soundest way to raise the revenues in the long run is to cut the rates now.”

Amen.

Damn, never knew JFK was  a radical right wing conservative, poor and middle class hater and supporter of the rich!

Who knew. 🙂

The Dependent Life

Americans have now elected twice a man who said he wanted to spread the wealth around. So how ugly is it going to get? The Senate Budget Committee says welfare spending will nearly double in 10 years. This would be the Senate Budget Committee that refused to pass a budget for the 4th time in a row despite it being a requirement of both the Congress and The President. 🙂

Using data from the Congressional Research Service and Congressional Budget Office, the Budget Committee’s Republican staff has added up what’s spent on cash aid, health assistance, housing assistance, and social and family services.

All told, welfare spending will rocket from roughly $800 billion in the current fiscal year to about $1.4 trillion in fiscal 2022 — a nearly 80% jump.

All told, overall welfare spending for the decade will be $11 trillion — “roughly one-quarter of cumulative federal spending,” the Budget Committee reports.

And that doesn’t even include state spending on welfare, which, when added to federal benefits, was more than $1 trillion in fiscal 2011. That’s enough, the Budget Committee tells us, “to mail every household in poverty a check for $60,000 each year.”

How did we get here? In Obama-esque fashion, of course. The committee says the unimaginable spending is in part “driven by a series of controversial recruitment methods that include aggressive outreach to those who say they do not need financial assistance.”

Recruitment. Come be poor on the government’s dime. It’s free, it’s easy and you can be lazy. And all you have to do to maintain it is vote for me because the other guy’s an asshole who wants to take your candy away.

“Recruitment workers are even instructed on how to ‘overcome the word “no”‘ when individuals resist enrollment,” says committee research. “The USDA and Department of Homeland Security also have promotions to increase the number of immigrants on welfare despite legal prohibitions on welfare use among those seeking admittance into the United States.”

We want you to buy this poverty that you don’t need and you get a Free Obama Phone as free gift, and if you act now we’ll throw in free internet also!

So where’s my Ginzu Knife? 🙂

The best welfare program is not a government plan.

It is a strong, expanding economy, which is, in fact, the only path for overcoming poverty.

But poverty and the class warfare to go with it works much better for Democrats. A Permanent underclass is preferred. And then you add in 12 million illegal aliens and you have a voting block to win elections regardless of how bad things get for everyone else. What could be better than that? 🙂

Science fiction writer Robert Heinlein noted that “throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man.” It is only through free enterprise, which is fed by open trade, unfettered capitalism and liberalized markets, that humans have emerged from their natural state in which life was nasty, brutish and short.

To paraphrase the great Milton Friedman, man’s great achievements have not been the product of a government program, a redistributionary scheme or bustling bureaucracy. They are due to the simple profit motive at work in political systems that let people be fittingly compensated for their innovations and efforts.

No system has lifted man’s standard of living as free enterprise has. As Friedman also once said, the masses that suffer the most from grinding poverty are those trapped in societies that depart from free enterprise.

But Free enterprise is evil. Just as a Democrat.

“The record of history is absolutely crystal clear,” he said. “There is no alternative way so far discovered of improving the lot of ordinary people that can hold a candle to the productive activities that are unleashed by a free enterprise system.”

Washington’s focus should be on removing the restraints it has placed on free enterprise rather than busying itself with building a nation of dependents, as it has for the last eight decades.

But then it wouldn’t all be about them and what they want. We can’t have that!!

A growing welfare state helps no one — aside from politicians who traffic in addiction to government — but a burgeoning economy improves everyone’s well being.

But the addiction to government IS what government wants. The more the merrier.

Having people struggle and fail and struggle and succeed is far worse than people just sitting back and letting government do everything for them and then voting to continue to give them more and more of less and less and less.

It’s not what’s good for the people that matters. Its what’s good for the government that matters. After all, government is both Mother and God all rolled into one. Government can solve anything, can take care of anyone, better than any force on earth, right?

The best policy? Doubling not welfare spending over the next decade, but the size of the economy. (IBD)

But then you have a bunch ungrateful rich and independent people who want to do what’s best for THEM, and not you the government and we can’t allow that to happen now can we.
And don’t bother talking to people about inflation. The Democrats have bred their cattle dumb and with an unhealthy uninformed narcissism just like they like them.

If you put $1,000 in your piggy bank in 1960 and took it out to spend in 2000, you would discover that your money had, over time, lost 80 percent of its value.

Despite all the political rhetoric today about how nobody’s taxes will be raised, except for “the rich,” inflation transfers a percentage of everybody’s wealth to a government that expands the money supply. Moreover, inflation takes the same percentage from the poorest person in the country as it does from the richest.

That’s not all. Income taxes only transfer money from your current income to the government, but it does not touch whatever money you may have saved over the years. With inflation, the government takes the same cut out of both. (thomas sowell)

But “soak the rich” is the battle cry to get the addicted to rise up against their “oppressor” and vote to stick it to them!!!
The sheep then get sheered and don’t even know they got fleeced.
Always the best strategy for a thief, to make sure the mark never knows (or know way too late) that they’ve been robbed.
The use The Ministry of Truth to cover it up and rile up the addicts and you have the making a of a perpetual E-motion machine that will do your bidding almost mindlessly.
What could be better.

The biggest and most deadly “tax” rate on the poor comes from a loss of various welfare state benefits– food stamps, housing subsidies and the like– if their income goes up.

Someone who is trying to climb out of poverty by working their way up can easily reach a point where a $10,000 increase in pay can cost them $15,000 in lost benefits that they no longer qualify for. That amounts to a marginal tax rate of 150 percent– far more than millionaires pay. Some government policies help some people at the expense of other people. But some policies can hurt welfare recipients, the taxpayers and others, all at the same time, even though in different ways.

Why? Because we are too easily impressed by lofty political rhetoric and too little interested in the reality behind the words. (Thomas Sowell)

Dependency is Life. Life is dependency.
Government is your GOD.God will provide (hence cutting spending is also an evil that must be destroyed).
Life isn’t fair, but Government will make it fair! For you! All you have to is sell your soul to the Government store!
Join the faith!!!…. You will be Assimilated!…. or else!

Be a Kid Again

So let’s see…

Michael Ramirez Cartoon

You can get 99 Weeks of Unemployment. Free food from food stamps. An Obamaphone and Free Internet all from the government and there’s housing assistance…all if you’re “poor”.

Then there’s Disability, Social Security, Medicare, and more.

Then you tax the people who are actually working to “help” out the “poor”?

And you blame it all on “the rich”.

Why do I bother? Seriously… Why?

Because, I have pride and self-motivation and I’m not a lazy ass SOB. That’s why.

Just another reason why I’m not politically correct. 🙂

A Dinosaur in a Socialist age.

And the other gravy train…Public Sector employees.

Employees who are paid by the tax payers because government do not actually produce anything, but boy can they spend it and tell you how to spend your money (especially on them).

The public sector employee is paid by the taxpayers. So if you have more of them you need more tax money. If you have a dwindling of tax payers (since 50% of Americans pay no taxes) you have to get from “the rich”.

Again.

So what incentive is their to be successful and “rich” in America these days?

In the 1,420 days since he took the oath of office, the federal government has daily hired on average 101 new employees. Every day. Seven days a week. All 202 weeks. That makes 143,000 more federal workers than when Obama talked forever on that cold day in January of 2009.

Meanwhile, 25 million Americans are unemployed or underemployed and the “official” unemployment rate has largely not changed one bit in 4 years because millions have given up looking. Well, look to Uncle Sam, he’s hiring… 🙂

Under Obama the total federal workforce has surpassed two million for the first time since the first Clinton term, now sitting about the 2.2 ,million level.

Now comes a new poll revealing that Americans know what’s going on. A majority of Americans believes government workers make more money than private sector workers, according to the new Rasmussen Reports poll. Sixty-one percent of private sector workers believe that.

Surprisingly, Republicans, independents and Democrats are united in agreement that government employees have it better than private sector workers although, predictably, Dems are slightly less sure.

“The federal workforce has become an elite island of secure and high-paid workers, separated from the ocean of average American workers competing in the global economy,” according to a report this year by the Cato Institute.

That report found the average civilian federal government worker collected just under $84,000 a year in taxpayer money, about $32,000 more than the average private sector worker. That’s a total federal worker package of about $236 billion a year.

The latest IRS report said, for instance, that 36 of Obama’s White House aides had $833,000 in unpaid back taxes.

According to Rasmussen, two out of three Americans are sure that company employees work harder than their lazy lay-about government counterparts. Only five percent think it’s the other way around; they may belong to street repair crews (see photo above).

Even a plurality (48%) of government employees admit their private industry counterparts do work harder.

Another 67% believe that government workers have greater job security than those in the production- profit-driven private sector, job security being an acute issue in these last four Obama years so rife with economic uncertainty.

Sixteen percent don’t think there’s much difference in job security, while 9% say government workers have less job security. They may be state and local government employees, whose number has declined with the end of Obama’s ineffective $830 billion economic stimulus package, much of it devoted to protecting those union jobs.

That protection was only temporarily, as it turns out. But the borrowing to pay for it is now a permanent part of the nation’s $16.3 trillion debt. (IBD)

So work less, get paid more, and suck off the “rich” while running up the debt.
What could be better?
How about not working, sitting at home getting paid and surfing the internet and talking to your peeps on the phone all for Free!
Gee, it’s just like being a kid again!!!
No responsibilities.
No Cares.
And “rich” people to pay your bills.
What is not to like? 🙂

And just like Mom, when asked, “Who’s going to clean up this mess?”

You say, “Not Me…” “They Did it…” “Ah, Mom, do I have to…”

The Speech

The Almighty Barack Hussein Obama gave a speech last night and I have only 4 words in summary: I TOLD YOU SO!

President Obama’s address to Congress was exactly what we thought it would be: a shallow, callow campaign rally masquerading as something serious and important.  As Charles Krauthammer framed it on Fox, tonight’s address represented the first presidential campaign speech delivered in the House of Representatives in US history.

The tone and tenor of the address, which was sprinkled with superficial appeals to bipartisanship, was highly political and practically unhelpful.  Straw men were introduced and torched at record pace.

Spend More Money! Tax The “The Rich”!

Create more Union jobs and temporary “infrastructure” Union jobs.

Oh, and “Pass the Bill”! Only there is no bill. There aren’t any concrete, written specifics, but if you don’t pass it we’ll beat you senseless Republicans! (But we will create one in a week-and-a-half, in the meantime we’ll beat you senseless first then tell you to pass it or else!)

Of course, we were going to do that anyhow, but who cares. We don’t.

“Just Pass the Bill” but not just any bill, like the Ryan Budget, or Cut, Cap & Balance, or any right wing “extremist” bill, a bill that we the left wing extremists can be happy with. That’s “compromise”, after all.

Just do as I say, not as I do.

President Barack Obama proposed a $447 billion jobs package (More Spending!!) on Thursday to help boost the U.S. economy (That’s worked so well before- I think it was called THE STIMULUS!) , challenging Congress to pass legislation made up largely of tax cuts for workers (the same ones that haven’t worked so far)  and businesses (but we’ll choke them with other taxes-The highest in the world and regulations and ObamaCare!)

“It will provide a jolt to an economy that has stalled and give companies confidence that if they invest and hire there will be customers for their products and services. You should pass this jobs plan right away,” Obama said.

The agreement we passed in July will cut government spending by about $1 trillion over the next ten years (That was a cut in the growth of expenses not actual expenses).  It also charges this Congress to come up with an additional $1.5 trillion in savings by Christmas.  Tonight, I’m asking you to increase that amount so that it covers the full cost of the American Jobs Act.  And a week from Monday, I’ll be releasing a more ambitious deficit plan – a plan that will not only cover the cost of this jobs bill, but stabilize our debt in the long run.  This approach is basically the one I’ve been advocating for months.

Can you hear The Punt (That’s right, Obama punted the heavy lifting to the super-committee, and pledged to introduce another general deficit plan in twelve days. ) from here and it sounds familiar…

The Stimulus and the Armageddon speeches he gave to get it passed. This is so 2009.

Taking aim at Republicans who have consistently opposed his economic initiatives, Obama said it was time to “stop the political circus and actually do something to help the economy.”

The political partisanship is entirely the Republicans fault, you know. 🙂

The 2 years prior to the Republicans taking the House 8 months ago doesn’t count.  It’s doesn’t matter. My words are supposed to be bigger than my inaction.

So what if every Republican led initiative has died in the Senate, it’s still their fault.
And we (Liberals) aren’t the partisans in this mess. 🙂

But after saying it was a crisis our Dear leader went on vacation for a Month. It was that “urgent”. Now he’s had his big speech, which doesn’t have a plan yet, but you have to “just pass the bill” and we’ll come out with a plan in a week-and-a-half. We’ll lead from behind as always.

Obama said he would propose a deficit-reduction plan on Sept. 19 that will cover the cost of his jobs bill and include “modest adjustments” to Medicare and Medicaid and more taxes for the rich and corporations. (Unlike the $500 Billion Obamacare is supposed to cut so it can be double counted as savings! or the evil Ryan Plan 🙂 )

“A week from Monday, I’ll be releasing a more ambitious deficit plan — a plan that will not only cover the cost of this jobs bill, but stabilize our debt in the long run,” he said Thursday to Congress in his speech on job creation.

So the tease and denial continues. After all, Keynesian Economics and his own rigid Ideology prevent him from doing what is really necessary.

So the media tease continues. But you have to “just pass the bill”. 🙂

“…by making modest adjustments to health care programs like Medicare and Medicaid; and by reforming our tax code in a way that asks the wealthiest Americans and biggest corporations to pay their fair share,” he said. (CNBC)

Soak the Rich. As for “fair share” get I though paying the the majority of taxes ALREADY would be enough, after all 47% of all American Pay NO taxes at all and $4.2 Billion dollars in tax refunds went to Illegal Aliens.

And we have to remember that his definition of “millionaires and billionaires” starts at $200,000 a year.

Tax Year 2008 (latest available): Top 5% (which fit into his category of “millionaires and Billionaires” : 58.72%

The Bottom 50% pay 3% of all Taxes.

But it’s “fair” to tax them even more because they aren’t paying their “fair share”.

Class Warfare at it’s ugliest.

So we Have Tax & Spend Keynesian Stimulus.

We Have raise taxes on the rich. Class Warfare.

So what was different from before last night? NOTHING!

But you have to wait until Sept 19th for his “urgent” plan that will take him a month-and-a-half to put together on his vacation and now his tease and denial.

Can the media stand the hype or will they orgasm all over themselves before Sept 19th. Tune in and find out!

That’s very “urgent”.  It’s ANOTHER CRISIS! And we all know “never waste a crisis”. 🙂

Two quick examples that illustrate why this entire spectacle was a sham.

(1) Obama lamented teacher layoffs: “While they’re adding teachers in places like South Korea, we’re laying them off in droves.  It’s unfair to our kids.  It undermines their future and ours.  And it has to stop.  Pass this jobs bill, and put our teachers back in the classroom where they belong.” But later in the speech, he went out of his way to condemn budget fixes like Wisconsin’s, which limited collective bargaining “rights” for government employees, but has saved thousands of teachers’ jobs.

(2) The president demanded swift action on three pending trade agreements, heavily implying that Congress has been dragging its feet on these items: “Now it’s time to clear the way for a series of trade agreements that would make it easier for American companies to sell their products in Panama, Colombia, and South Korea…”  But the reason these agreements have stalled is because he refuses to send them to Congress unless Republicans agree to lard them up with special goodies for labor unions.
Liberals on MSNBC and Twitter seem to be energized by Obama’s aggressive performance.  They think this was just what the doctor ordered, and that Republicans have been put on notice, or something.

Liberals?  Excited by a passionate, but ultimately unserious, Obama campaign speech?  Color me stunned.

If President Obama plan to convince Americans that the economy sucks because the GOP wouldn’t go along with every last piece of his re-run stimulus plan, let him try.  “You should pass it.  And I intend to take that message to every corner of this country.”  Go for it, champ. (Guy Benson)

Insanity Awaits Inexperienced Drivers

The Definition of Insanity it is said is to be doing the exact same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.

The <California> State Board of Equalization has estimated there are 25,000  affiliates in California about 10,000 of them making money through  Amazon.

Not anymore, though. The State passed an “internet sales tax” where e-tailers must collect money for the state.
Amazon and Overstock had canceled 10’s of thousand of business affiliates.
And others may follow.
So those small business men now have even LESS business and even LESS revenue. So less sales. Less sales taxes from them.
So they’ll undoubtedly have LESS jobs.

Good job, Democrats!

Just days after the president’s class warfare shot at corporate jet manufacturers (the same ones they praised last March and in the stimulus bill) comes this fact:

Aircraft manufacturers, fuel suppliers, repair services and other segments of the industry employ 1.2 million people and generate $150 billion in economic activity, according to the General Aviation Manufacturers Association.

Damn, that’s a lot of “rich” people. 🙂

So people buy less planes. There is less manufacturing and servicing, so people will be laid off…

“While such talk may appear to some as good politics, the reality is that it hurts one of the leading manufacturing and exporting industries in the United States,” Peter Bunce, president of the aviation manufacturers association, and Thomas Buffenbarger, president of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, said in a letter to Obama.

Obama is trying to demonize the private plane industry and engage in class warfare, Sen. Mike Johanns, R-Neb., said.

“The reality is that good people lose jobs when we play politics with an entire industry,” he said.

20,000 Jobs have been lost in recent years due to cutbacks in orders. This won’t help.

But at least we stuck it to those damn “rich” people!

“You go talk to your constituents and ask them, ‘Are you willing to compromise your kids’ safety so some corporate-jet owner can get a tax break?'”– Obama

The workers on the assembly lines, suppliers, maintenance and sales people, need not apply. 🙂

And he whipped up his “base” and fed the little raptors some  empty-calorie meat to devour.

And, of course, there is the chorus of  “but it’s fair!” 🙂

And we wouldn’t want to be unfair now would we….

The day before Obama’s remarks, the president praised Alcoa workers for making the wings of Air Force One during a trip to Iowa.

“Alcoa is showing us the future we can build here in eastern Iowa and across the country,” he proclaimed.

“The very next day he says he wants to kill any tax incentive to buy the business jets that have Alcoa products in them,” Aerospace Industries Association president Marion Blakey complained Thursday. “It’s baffling and disturbing.” She called Air Force One “the biggest corporate jet in America.”

Yeah, but that was yesterday. What can you do for him TODAY. That’s what matters.

The upshot: Obama says that Alcoa must lose business among American customers to repeal a tax break Obama and the Democrats supported because Republicans want to balance the budget.

Damn those evil Republicans! If only we could get rid of them, Utopia would reign on Earth and we could spend as much as we want, when we want, because we want, and where we want and everything would be fine!

But at least  all his hungry little apparatchiks will be fed by the no-calorie class warfare meat.

He has to throw them some meat, or they’ll devour him too!  (Greece anyone?)

Dems are faced with cutting back on the very programs that brought  them into power (gasp).  They have been buying votes with gimmee  programs for years and it’s caused a whole lot of unsustainable  addiction.  Now that the state is broke they have to cut loose the  addicts and those voters will be furious, as you might expect any addict  would be!

So the monster they created to get where they are threatens to eat them too if they don’t supply their addicts. Problem is, the drugs will kill us all eventually.

So, the solution–Raise Taxes!!

The #1 Democrat solution for everything.

The only alternative to responsible cost cutting is, RAISE TAXES, and do it fast…because this is a political emergency!    Careers are at risk – their careers!  Control over State is at risk –  their control!  It doesn’t get any worse.  So they do what dems do best  – they tax!

This time their plan is going severely damage the core working class  by beating up on businesses (employers) just struggling to survive in an  already business-unfriendly climate.  One more burden on them could  prove fatal and that would only add to the political disaster dems were  hoping to avoid.

For starters, Obama’s most recent budget calls for adding $9.5 trillion in new debt over the next decade. If you got rid of the “accelerated depreciation” of corporate jets, Reuters economics columnist James Pethokoukis calculates, it would save a whopping .03 percent of that total.

Sadly, the room was full of journalists who do not consider themselves novices but who nonetheless let Obama get away with this demagogic dishonesty. No one asked the president why he suddenly cares so much about getting rid of a tax break he himself was for before he was against it. Indeed, no one asked why, if it is such an affront to the liberal conscience, it was part of Obama’s stimulus bill, which was passed without any Republican votes in the House and only three in the Senate (which means Nancy Pelosi voted for special tax breaks for corporate jets and the GOP didn’t).

More broadly, no one threw a flag on his claim that “every single observer who’s not an elected official, who’s not a politician,” agrees with him on the burning need to raise taxes as part of any budget deal. This is a good example of Obama’s most grating tic, his need to claim that all reasonable and serious people agree with him and anyone who disagrees must be doing so for base or ideological motives.

But at least you stuck to “rich” people! 🙂

And your base is happy for another day. Until the monster awakens again and wants to be fed it’s largess drugs.

FEED ME!  FEED ME!  FEED ME!

Insanity awaits! 🙂
