Money Buys Everything

Entitlement : “Who’s Gonna Pay My Rent!” Welfare Queen Freaks Out After Being Denied

After being denied benefits this lady freaked out and launched into a profanity filled rant. She screamed “Who’s Gonna Pay My Rent!”. Its interesting that she didn’t try to focus on finding a job and a way to pay the rent herself. (US NEWS)

Welcome to Obama’s America. 🙂

Anyone that has paid any attention to the news recently knows how bad the Obama/Kerry/Hillary Iran nuke deal is. Even the majority of the American people disagree with the deal and find it completely outrageous. It is no surprise that something is behind why some people in Congress are support such a tragic idea. The reason why people are backing this proposition is nothing new to politicians. Bribery.

So is that why the Middle Easterners keep giving the Clinton Foundation millions and Hillary says nothing about those “women’s issues”. 🙂

Part of the reason why congressman are supporting this dumb deal is to support the president of their own party, but also because there are Iranian lobbyists making large campaign donations to the Democratic party and are funding this propaganda. As pointed out by Daniel Greenfield in the Front Page Magazine, most if not all of the Democratic legislators supporting this legislation are getting support for the deal financially from the Iranian lobby, specifically the Iranian American Political Action Committee (IAPAC).

The IPAC maxed out on their contributions to Democratic Senator Ed Markey and Al Franken at $5,000 each during the 2014 election cycle. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand of New York represents the largest Jewish populated state in America, yet even she supports the deal. It is clear to see that the Democratic Party only cares about who gives them money and not who elected them in the first place. Gillibrand not only got campaign donations from the IAPAC but she also received money from Iran Lobby’s Hassan Nemazee. Nemazee was a finance director for Hillary’s national campaign and also raised a ton of money for Kerry before he pleaded guilty to a fraud scheme. From those in the House, Mike Honda (D-CA), Andre Carson (D-IN), Gerry Connolly (D-VA), Donna Edwards (D-MD), and Jackie Speier (D-CA) all received cash from IPAC.

Joe Biden and John Kerry also received large financial donations from not only IAPAC but also Housang Amirahmadi, the found of the American Iranian Council. Amirahmadi spoke of a campaign to “conquer Obama’s heart and mind” and described himself as “the Iranian lobby in the United States.” The definition of treason provided by the Legal Dictionary is as follows: The betrayal of one’s own country by waging war against it or by consciously or purposely acting to aid its enemies. From that definition, any and all politicians who have taken Iran’s blood money have done it as an act of treason. The punishment of being found guilty of treason (by law) is: “shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.” By following the law of the land as well as the punishment found in the law, the politicians who have accepted this money should be removed from their position immediately and imprisoned for at least five years. (US NEWS)

And Obama and Hillary are 2 of 3 top recipients of PAC money from Planned Parenthood also.

So the Iranians bought a Nuke. Planned Parenthood bought selling baby parts.

Best Congress bought and paid for. 🙂

It buys silence. It buys “outrage”. It buys cowardice.

And so much more.

Money really does buy Politics. And Politicians are too happy to lie about it.

Money really does buy Everything. 🙂

Dependency

The American public’s dependence on the federal government shot up 23% in just two years under President Obama, with 67 million now relying on some federal program, according to a newly released study by the Heritage Foundation.

The conservative think tank’s annual Index of Dependence on Government tracks money spent on housing, health, welfare, education subsidies and other federal programs that were “traditionally provided to needy people by local organizations and families.”

The two-year increase under Obama is the biggest two-year jump since Jimmy Carter was president, the data show.

The rise was driven mainly by increases in housing subsidies, an expansion in Medicaid and changes to the welfare system, along with a sharp rise in food stamps, the study found.

“You can’t get around the fact that policy decisions made over the past two years, on top of those made over the past several decades, are having a large effect on the pace of growth of the index,” said William Beach, who authored the Heritage study.

Government dependence has climbed steadily since 1962, when the index stood at 19. By 1980, the index had risen to 100. It stood at 294 in 2010, the last year for which the data are available. D.C.-based Heritage has produced the index for nine years.

The report also found that spending on “dependence programs” accounts for more than 70% of the federal budget. That, too, is up dramatically. In 1990, for example, the figure stood at 48.5%, and in 1962 just over a quarter of federal spending went to dependence programs.

At the same time, fewer Americans pay income taxes, the report notes. Almost half (49.5%) didn’t pay income taxes in 2009, the latest year for which the researchers have data. Back in the late 1960s, only 12% of Americans escaped the income tax burden.

Other findings:

The number of people dependent on the federal government shot up 7.5% in the past two years.

In 2010, for the first time ever, average spending on dependence programs per recipient exceeded the country’s per-capita disposable income.

The dependency index has dipped only seven times in the past 49 years, three of which were under President Reagan and two under President Clinton.

Some observers say the rise in dependence under Obama is merely a reflection of the deep and long recession.

But Beach says his team’s research shows that economic effects account for only one-fifth of the change in the index.

In addition, the index shot up 8% in 2010, a year when the economy grew by 3%.

Also, in the wake of the 1981-82 recession the dependence index climbed only 6%, then fell the very next year. That early-’80s slump was nearly as long as the so-called Great Recession (16 months vs. 18 months) and saw unemployment rise higher (peaking at 10.8% vs. 10%).

The lingering high jobless rate during the slow economic recovery under Obama could also explain dependency’s rise. It’s also possible that the growth in federal dependency programs is partly to blame for the ongoing jobs recession, not just the result of it.

As the chart above shows, the time it’s taken for employment to reach its pre-recession peak has climbed the past four decades, right along with the growth in federal dependency. The current jobs recession hit a post-World War II record of 48 months in January, with payrolls still 5.6 million below their January 2008 high.

Research seems to validate this connection. Various studies have shown that extending unemployment benefits can keep unemployment rates higher than they would otherwise have been.

Obama’s own former economic adviser, Larry Summers, noted in the 1999 Concise Encyclopedia of Economics that “government assistance programs contribute to long-term unemployment … by providing an incentive, and the means, not to work.” (IBD)

ILLEGAL ALIENS

Law: If anything shows how ever-expanding government works at cross-purposes, it’s the Obama administration’s newly named post of “public advocate” for illegal aliens. What part of “illegal” don’t they understand?

It seems those who’ve broken the law by entering the U.S. illegally are now entitled to special U.S. government protection from — the U.S. government. At least, that’s the logic of the phony new “public advocate” post created for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

In naming Andrew Lorenzen-Strait to the job, ICE announced he would work “directly for ICE’s Executive Assistant Director of Enforcement and Removal Operations” to help build “constructive relationships with the community and … resolve problems or concerns.”

And for whom would he do this? “(S)takeholders that include individuals, public, nongovernmental organizations, faith-based organizations and advocacy groups.”

“Stakeholders”? Based on that cast of pressure groups, it’s plain he’ll be an illegal alien advocate.

This new position reflects the Obama administration’s open-borders policy on immigration. It just won’t say so out loud. Rather than dismantling ICE or offering a blanket amnesty, Obama’s creating an illegal alien advocate inside ICE, undercutting its very mission.

Why not have a bank robber’s advocate at the FBI?

Four faulty premises lay at the root of the absurdity.

• That ICE’s mission is at odds with the public. For all President Obama’s syrupy talk about public service, ICE has been turned into a public enemy. Why not just dismantle it if it doesn’t serve the public interest?

• That enforcing the law is not the government’s job. The advocate twists ICE’s mission to customer service, as if lawbreakers needed that.

• That illegals are “stakeholders” in the U.S., a place they have no business being in. And now as “stakeholders” — the U.S. somehow owes them something.

• That some illegals are more entitled to stay than others. Lorenzen-Strait has already advised ICE about whom to deport, regardless of law. Now his job will be to sort out who is most politically useful to Obama to keep.

In reality, illegals already have advocates. They’re called embassies. And none of them are shy about making a stink on behalf of their own citizens.

Now they’ve got another advocate inside the U.S. government, paid for by you. With that kind of coddling, it’s just another reason to keep crossing our border.(IBD)

America, what a country!

And of course, these people will vote for what’s best for the country over what kisses their asses… 🙂

The Hypocrisy Manifesto

Obama: ‘If They Bring a Knife to the Fight, We Bring a Gun’ (June 14, 2008)

So much for those evil “gun metaphors” 🙂
“I need you to go out and talk to your friends and talk to your neighbors. I want you to talk to them whether they are independent or whether they are Republican. I want you to argue with them and get in their face.”
Civilized discourse, anyone?

Political Cartoon

But the prize for insensitive slander, however, goes to Michael Daly of the New York Daily News. Under the headline “Rep. Gabriel Giffords’ blood is on Palin’s hands after putting cross hair over her district,” Daly wrote that Palin, by designating 20 congressmen as targets in 2010 for voting for ObamaCare, “added to a climate of violence.”

And then there’s the Democrat’s “target” map from 2004:

But don’t worry, I’m sure this is Sarah Palin’s or Bush’s fault too!
This kind of two-faced crap is very much the providence of the LEFT and they aren’t capable of owning up to it.
Then there’s the Left’s and The Media’s complete meltdown on  not “jumping to conclusions” over the Foot Hood Shooting for weeks on end ad nauseum.
But the media jumped so fast to conclusions on this one that it was practically before the bodies were in ambulance.
Again, the Left and Media are not intellectually honest to own up to their own duplicity.

When Palin’s map became an issue, Rep. Chris Van Hollen, leader of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC), rushed on MSNBC to denounce it, telling Chris Matthews:

I really think that that is crossing a line…In this particular environment I think it’s really dangerous to try and make your point in that particular way because there are people who are taking that kind of thing seriously.

Really, Chris? So what do you think about this map?

Each one of those red targets represents a “Targeted Republican” and the blue arrows are “Stimulus Money”.
You’ll never guess where I found this map. That’s right, it’s on the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) website. (Verum Serum)
WHOOPS!
Giffords, a former Republican and self-proclaimed Blue Dog Democrat, participated in the reading of the U.S. Constitution on the House floor and voted against Nancy Pelosi for House speaker. She was a strong supporter of gun rights as enshrined in the Second Amendment and voted to lift the ban on guns in Washington, D.C. Palin and the Tea Party wish there were more Democrats like her.
Never mind that in 2008, Moulitsas (Daily Kos Founder), disappointed with Blue Dogs such as Giffords, had his own “target list” of “Democrats who sold out the Constitution.” Giffords was on the list in bold type. Moulitsas said: “Not all these people will get or even deserve primaries,” Moulitsas said, “but this certainly puts a bull’s-eye on their district.” Target? Bull’s-eye?
WHOOPS!
But again, the Left will not be honest enough to own up to it. I bet they don’t even remember it. And if you confronted them with it they’d tell you it was photoshopped and it was set-up and it was fake, et al. (because I have done that to liberals online and THAT IS the reaction I’d get!!).
Unfortunately, they’re too busy exploiting this tragedy.
Some even talk of the political bounce that Clinton got from the Oklahoma City Bombing and Bush got from 9/11 so NEVER LET A CRISIS GO TO WASTE!
And a tragedy is the perfect time to take political advantage.

Political Cartoon

There’s even a Democrat PAC (Founded by Iowa Senator Tom Harkin and The Daily KOS with the SEIU) that is fundraising through emails using Anti-Palin rhetoric.
Disgusting. Disrespectful. And just plain wrong.
But utterly predictable.

Then there’s this:  In a video message posted Monday on the Web site of the rabidly gay-hating cult Westboro Baptist Church, cult leader Fred Phelps announced that he and his followers will picket the upcoming funerals of the six victims who lost their lives in Saturday’s shooting rampage in Tucson — even targeting that of nine-year-old Christina Taylor Green. “That child was not innocent,” the cult said in a press release. “That child is better off dead, so the cup of her iniquity will not overflow!”

There are no words to express how disgusting this group of real life nutjobs are. I’m hoping they aren’t coming and are just stirring up the pot.

Their disrespect for the dead is beyond the pale.

There is already a movement by Liberals and Conservatives here that are going to band together against these disgusting people. Good for them. I wish I could be their to shield the families but I have to work.

Pima County Loon Sherriff (who is a leftist Democrat and pro-illegal):

“The kind of rhetoric that flows from people like Rush Limbaugh, in my judgment he is irresponsible, uses partial information, sometimes wrong information,” [Limbaugh] attacks people, angers them against government, angers them against elected officials and that kind of behavior in my opinion is not without consequences.”

Neither is your Sheriff, but I doubt you are intelligent enough to understand it.

But he tows the party line very well as always.

When liberals say we must civilize our discourse and watch what we say, they mean conservatives should shut up. We need not apologize for the Constitution or our free speech rights. Saying the Tea Party made him do it is not a rational explanation.

When Maj. Nidal Hassan shot up Fort Hood in 2009, everyone said don’t jump to conclusions and blame all Muslims. Yet they blame all conservatives for this shooting even though the alleged shooter is from their side of the aisle.

By all accounts so far he was a mentally unstable, pot smoking, leftist who worshiped skulls and whose favorite books were Mein Kampf and The Communist Manifesto. Not exactly Palin or Limbaugh material.

There were no liberal charges of inciting violence or creating a climate of hate in 2004 over Gabriel Range’s film “Death of a President” depicting the assassination of George W. Bush. In fact, it won an award at the Toronto Film Festival. Dissent is not hate, and demonizing your opponents is not democracy.

With all the Tea Party rallies and town hall meetings in 2009, there were no recorded acts of violence perpetrated by Tea Party members. It is they who are the targets of hate, venom and character assassination. Beck put half a million people on the Mall in Washington with not so much as a candy wrapper thrown in anger. (IBD)

But that doesn’t matter. Scoring cheap political “victories” with your base of nutjobs is all that really matters.

Even Hillary in Dubai talking to Muslim students, “We have extremists in our country,” Clinton said. “A wonderful and incredibly brave young woman Congress member was just shot by extremists in our country. We have the same kinds of problems.”

That’s you right-wingers and Tea-Partiers you’re moral equivalent to Middle Eastern Radical Muslim terrorists!

Not us Liberals though, we are as pure as the driven snow!

The political left is always prowling for ways to curb freedom and exert more government control over society. With six killed and 20 shot at a Tucson grocery store on Saturday, including the intended target, Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, the left now has a tragic event to help push its agenda.

“Sensitivity” and “Compassion” go right out the window when it’s time to score cheap, childish, soul-satisfying partisan political points and push the Agenda forward.

After all, “targeting” a politician, say who is for ObamaCare, will be outlawed as hate speech. Or maybe Global Warming, or Cap-and-Trade.

The right to disagree with your government will disappear in puff of political where-there’s-smoke-theirs-an-opportunity!

Who cares if it’s true or not, they surely don’t. Who cares if it’s unconstitutional. They surely don’t.

It just feels good to blame Palin, Bush, Limbaugh,Beck and every conservative who has ever gotten your Liberal dander up.

It has to be their fault, everything else in life is why not this.

And it feels so good to HATE THEM!! 🙂

Incestuous Narcissism Part 1

For about 15 years if someone asked me to sum up my philosophy about the people I ranted about I would say “Unenlightened Narcissism” but now I have revised that.

It’s now “Incestuous Narcissism”. Where both parties are consensual in the narcissism and incestuous need for the other, to the exclusion of “the extremists” who don’t buy into their relationship or try to break it up.

Intervention in their incest is not best. It is to be fought to the bitter end.

Part I: Unions

Unions, especially public sector unions, are the perfect example of this relationship.

As a matter of disclosure I have never like Unions, ever. I grew up in a “union town” but was never in a union.

I used to watch them play their games with GM, this being the UAW- United Auto Workers.

They would go on strike because $28/hr in 1975 was too little. And then GM would fire them and then re-hire them. It was  game.

But now, it’s just incest.

The recent booze and pot mess at a Chrysler plant is merely the tip of iceberg. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVmKyJXHXRE)

What you have is simple. (This is a California graphic, but it applies nationally)

Taxpayer gives money to Government, Government gives money to Union and then gives money back to Government Officials in the form of political and lobbyist contributions.
It’s an incestuous circle.
And when they need more money the government simply borrows more money from China or it takes it from you.
The GM bailout was not about GM, the company. It was about The UAW, which now has bigger stake (and thus more power) in the company and will be even harder to discipline.
The 15 workers identified in the video were suspended by Chrysler, but the Union is saying nothing.
The $30 Billion bailout that Congress had to interrupt their summer vacation for was for government teachers unions, nothing else.

Albany Police Officers Union President Chris Mesley says that, regardless of the faltering economy, a no-raise new contract is unacceptable.

And to hell with the public.

“I’m not running a popularity contest here,” Mesley said. “If I’m the bad guy to the average citizen . . . and their taxes have go up to cover my raise, I’m very sorry about that, but I have to look out for myself and my membership.”

Mesley added: “As the president of the local, I will not accept ‘zeroes.’ If that means . . . ticking off some taxpayers, then so be it.”

Here are some of the facts;

Public pensions have unfunded liability of $1 trillion to $3.5 trillion

Federal workers take home twice pay and benefits as private workers. Local and state workers also make more.

Total          Pay           Benefits

Private                 $59,909      $50,028         $9,881

Local/state        $67,812      $52,051        $15,761

Federal               $119,982     $79,197        $40,785

— Average TWU (NY Transit Workers) union worker makes $60K without overtime or benefits.

— 25% took 15 or more sick days.  Average was 8 sick days.

— Fox average 3 sick days (same for men and women)

— No FOX employee took 15 days

Relative Danger of Jobs (Deaths per 100,000 workers)

— Fishing      128.9

–Logging     115.7

–Iron workers  46.4

–Farmers       39.5

–Firemen   3.8

–Transit workers 1.4

(Source: Bureau of Labor Statistics, except Transit worker death, that is from interview with TWU Local100 President)

Some people argue that there’s no alternative to the government monopoly on municipal work, but Sandy Springs, Georgia, privatized most of it’s jobs in 2005.  Now the city pays about ½ of what it used to pay.  It enjoys a $14 million surplus, in addition to funding a $20 million reserve. (John Stossel)

And the Union bosses defense: They have a dirty job. People Spit on them! Boo Hoo! Women get Pregnant! (really, he said it repeatedly).

Though Statistics show that the deadliest profession is Deep Water Fishing (aka Discovery Channel’s “Deadliest Catch”).

But you don’t seem getting these kinds of perks. They aren’t pimping or whoring for the government and vice versa like Union are.

That mean nothing to our Union Narcissist. He doesn’t care about fishing. It’s all about him and his own.

He’s entitled to retire at 50 with a pension you will never even dream of.

Compensation A. State and Local B. Private Sector Ratio A/B
Total Compensation $39.66 $27.42 1.45
Wages and salaries $26.01 $19.39 1.34
Benefits $13.65 $8.02 1.7
Paid Leave $3.27 $1.85 1.77
Supplemental Pay $0.34 $0.83 0.41

Then there’s The NEA, the National Teachers Association, a government union.

They are also incestuous.

John Stossel again:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wXFVeATlCDo

Like the fact that, despite pouring ever more money into the schools these past 40 years, America has fallen behind dozens of industrialized countries in math and science.

And the fact that every day in this country, 7,000 kids drop out of high school.

And that at this rate, by the year 2020, there will be 123 million American jobs for highly skilled and highly paid workers, but only 50 million Americans will be qualified to fill them.

Because of their political sway, teachers, no matter how good, are almost never rewarded. And no matter how bad, they are almost never fired. Contract rules in New York City even keep unwanted teachers on the payroll for unlimited amounts of time when they’re not in the classroom at all.

Isn’t the NEA’s only recourse to say they need more money?

According to NEA-NH Insider the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (The Stimulus)…

…represents a huge win for education thanks to unprecedented funding increases targeted to local districts.  ARRA also included increases for Title I, stabilization funding, and school construction bonds. This adds up. The US Dept. of Education saw funding increase $159.4 billion – an increase of 169%.

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act has saved approximately 325,000 education related jobs nationwide. Dr. Christina Romer, head of President Obama’s Council of Economic Advisers (CEA), stated that state stabilization funding to states has been “one of the triumphs” and has had “more bite than we would have thought.” Dr. Romer’s observation affirms the economic value to the nation of what was one of NEA’s major priorities in the stimulus package, and reinforces our argument in favor of continuing such aid through an Education Jobs Fund.

That’s “saved or created” for you… 🙂

And given the Incestuous circle of Taypayer-Government-Union-Lobbyist Contribution is it any wonder that pouring more money down this rathole isn’t working? 😦

The National Education Association, the larger of the two national teachers unions, considered spending $3.5 million to create an ad campaign to counter “the media propaganda of this summer’s series of anti-teacher union documentaries,” according to an agenda from its July meeting.

In the end, union officials decided it wasn’t worth it, said John Wilson, executive director.

“I think the films are a blip. They will come and go, but the union will still be there, our members will still be in these schools,” he said. “We don’t see any advantage of going to war with documentarians.” (Sacramento Bee)

Well, when you’re f*cking the boss (aka government) and creating the next generation of people who will view themselves as entitled to the fruits of others and that government must save them from themselves it’s Orwellian incestual indoctrination at it’s best.

Is it any wonder that the Democrats #1 base supporters are their own whores, The Unions, and that they care more about them than you.

And if you want to intervene in their mutual incest-fest you’re an “extremist”, a “kook” a “loon” and have to be stomped on.

Narcissistic personality disorder symptoms may include:

  • Believing that you’re better than others
  • Fantasizing about power, success and attractiveness
  • Exaggerating your achievements or talents
  • Expecting constant praise and admiration
  • Believing that you’re special and acting accordingly
  • Failing to recognize other people’s emotions and feelings
  • Expecting others to go along with your ideas and plans
  • Taking advantage of others
  • Expressing disdain for those you feel are inferior
  • Being jealous of others
  • Believing that others are jealous of you
  • Trouble keeping healthy relationships
  • Setting unrealistic goals
  • Being easily hurt and rejected
  • Having a fragile self-esteem
  • Appearing as tough-minded or unemotional

Although some features of narcissistic personality disorder may seem like having confidence or strong self-esteem, it’s not the same. Narcissistic personality disorder crosses the border of healthy confidence and self-esteem into thinking so highly of yourself that you put yourself on a pedestal. In contrast, people who have healthy confidence and self-esteem don’t value themselves more than they value others.

When you have narcissistic personality disorder, you may come across as conceited, boastful or pretentious. You often monopolize conversations. You may belittle or look down on people you perceive as inferior. You may have a sense of entitlement. And when you don’t receive the special treatment to which you feel entitled, you may become very impatient or angry. You may insist on having “the best” of everything — the best car, athletic club, medical care or social circles, for instance.

But underneath all this behavior often lies a fragile self-esteem. You have trouble handling anything that may be perceived as criticism. You may have a sense of secret shame and humiliation. And in order to make yourself feel better, you may react with rage or contempt and efforts to belittle the other person to make yourself appear better. (Mayo Clinic)

Tell Me that doesn’t sound like your garden variety Liberal?

Go on…I dare you…

Part 2: The People and Unemployment

Boo-Hoo Economics

Michael Ramirez Cartoon

Michelle “Antionette” Obama’s husband signed a Union Apparatchiks Bailout bill on Tuesday. It gave $26 Billion to state employees, primarily teachers (4 states of which that don’t even need it because there is no shortage!) and being the political animals in an election year what did they do to “offset” that spending?

They cut Food Stamps. 🙂

Or so the bill signed says (wait for the punchline, it’s coming).

Which prompts the liberal Boston Globe to complain:

ON TUESDAY, President Obama signed a $26 billion bill to help state and local governments cover Medicaid payments and avoid having to lay off teachers and other public employees. In what passes for high drama in Washington, the House of Representatives was called back from its summer recess to vote on the package, and the successful outcome was hailed as a major Democratic victory. “We can’t stand by and do nothing while pink slips are given to the men and women who educate our children or keep our communities safe,’’ Obama said. “That doesn’t make sense.’’
No, it doesn’t. But only by the occluded standards of contemporary Washington could this aid package be considered a victory. What began three months ago as a $50 billion emergency spending bill limped to the president’s desk at half that size and was largely paid for — “offset’’ in the clinical terminology of the budget — by cutting $12 billion from the food stamp program. In other words, a measure designed to help one group struggling in the recession came at the expense of another that is even worse off — and growing rapidly.

The number of people receiving food stamps stands at a record 41 million, or one out of every eight Americans. Driven by the downturn, that number has risen every month for the past 18 months. Last year alone, it grew by 20 percent. It’s grown by 50 percent since the recession began.

Then they say : The “good news’’ from an economic standpoint is that food stamps are a terrific vehicle for stimulus, because recipients spend them quickly.

Is that related to Nancy Pelosi’s unemployment comment that benefits are actually “Job creating” and that unemployment benefits “Create jobs faster than almost any other initiative you can name.” 🙂

Bad news is Good News and Good News is Good News. Orwell would be proud of them.

But I find this “offset” target very curious. And makes me wonder just how politically motivated it was, as in, they picked something that made it look like they were being “responsible” knowing they’d never really do it.

And it was less than they wanted to begin with, so they were being more “responsible”.

But the truth is, it was in part a Campaign Slush Fund transfer anyhow. 🙂

Along with a bailout of his apparatchiks.

It goes like this, they give these Billions to teachers unions and then the teachers unions turn some of that money right back around as PAC contributions to Democrats running for re-elections. So it’s free campaign money.

They have effectively porked their own candidates without actually looking like it.

Now isn’t that just peachy. 🙂

According to the Washington, D.C.-based Labor Union Report, the National Education Association in 2009 “raked in a whopping $355,334,165 in ‘dues and agency fees’ from (mostly) teachers around the country.” It spent close to $11 million more than it took in — $50 million of which union leaders poured into “political activities and lobbying” for exclusively left-wing and Democratic partisan causes and candidates.

Its primary mission? No, not educational excellence. Not “the children.” Political self-preservation.

Last July, the National Education Association’s retiring top lawyer, Bob Chanin, speaking at the NEA’s annual meeting in July, made the union’s true interests transparent: “Despite what some among us would like to believe it is not because of our creative ideas. It is not because of the merit of our positions. It is not because we care about children, and it is not because we have a vision of a great public school for every child. NEA and its affiliates are effective advocates because we have power.

“And we have power because there are more than 3.2 million people who are willing to pay us hundreds of millions of dollars in dues each year, because they believe that we are the unions that can most effectively represent them, the unions that can protect their rights and advance their interests as education employees . . .

“This is not to say that the concern of NEA and its affiliates with closing achievement gaps, reducing dropout rates, improving teacher quality and the like are unimportant or inappropriate. To the contrary.

“These are the goals that guide the work we do. But they need not and must not be achieved at the expense of due process, employee rights and collective bargaining. That simply is too high a price to pay.”

Left-wing radical Saul Alinsky taught his education acolytes well. Teacher organizers, he counseled, must commit to a “singleness of purpose.” No, not serving children’s needs, but serving the “ability to build a power base.” If that isn’t the dictionary definition of “special interest,” what is? (Michelle Malkin)

Back to the Boo-Hoo Globe: The justification offered by proponents was that food prices haven’t risen as much as Congress expected them to, and therefore cutting benefits to hungry kids isn’t really so bad, especially since the cuts won’t take effect until 2014.

Ta Da!  there’s the magic bullet!!

So they are cutting food stamps 4 years from now to pay for a Union Stimulus now!

Kinda sounds like Wimpy from The Popeye cartoons, “I will pay you tomorrow for a hamburger today”.

That’s Liberal economics for ya.

Which leads to….

The U.S. government spent itself deeper into the red last month, paying nearly $20 billion in interest on debt and an additional $9.8 billion to help unemployed Americans.
Federal spending eclipsed revenue for the 22nd straight time, the Treasury Department said Wednesday. The $165.04 billion deficit, while a bit smaller than the $169.5 billion shortfall expected by economists polled by Dow Jones Newswires, was the second highest for the month on record. The highest was $180.68 billion in July 2009.
The government usually runs a deficit during July, which is the 10th month of the fiscal year. So far in fiscal 2010, the government spent $1.169 trillion more than it made. That figure is about $98 billion lower than during the comparable period a year earlier.
For all of fiscal 2009, the U.S. ran a record $1.42 trillion deficit. Fiscal 2010 might run a little higher—the Obama administration sees $1.47 trillion.
Wednesday’s monthly Treasury statement said U.S. government revenues in July totaled $155.55 billion, compared with $151.48 billion in July 2009.
Spending was higher, totaling $320.59 billion. July 2009 spending amounted to $332.16 billion.
Year-to-date revenues were $1.75 trillion, compared with $1.74 trillion in the first 10 months of fiscal 2009. Spending so far in this fiscal year is $2.92 trillion, versus $3.01 trillion in the prior period.
Spending for benefits for the unemployed year to date totaled $121.4 billion; for July, the tab was $9.8 billion, the Treasury statement said.
Years of deficit spending by Washington have led to a mounting national debt. Interest payments so far in fiscal 2010 amount to $185.25 billion; by contrast, corporate taxes collected by the government during the same 10 months were $139.71 billion. Interest payments in July alone were $19.9 billion. (WSJ)

But don’t worry, this was all George W. Bush’s Fault! He made them do it!! 😦

Then Boston Globe ends with this sobbing whine: But the idea that they’ve won anything overall is hard to sustain. They sacrificed the most effective form of stimulus and capitulated to the Republican idea that deficits matter above all else. Their decision about who should bear the brunt of the offsets, and the silence that greeted it, suggests a moral capitulation as well. It may be a victory. But it’s nothing to brag about.

They have to be dishonest even to themselves in their Insufferable Perceived Moral Superiority and Outrage.

The cuts aren’t until 2014 ya dirtbags! You know, the same year the Health Care Mandate kicks in!  🙂 So they are sobbing about cutting something 4 years from now to pay for pork spending now and they are boo-hooing “it’s so unfair” about it.

Meanwhile the Deficit is climbing towards 15 Billion dollars and they just can’t stop the addiction to spending, especially on their own apparatchiks.

But that’s all George W. Bush’s Fault!

Where’s that Industrial Strength Barf Bag…

The Democrat Convenience Store

Alinsky Rule 11: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, polarize it.

Obama and The Democrats want to control the Financial Sector next. Or at the very least, scare them or scar them into compliance.

So the Next great Boogeyman has emerged from the Democrats.

First (and still champ) was George W. Bush.

Then it Halliburton.

Then it was The Banks.

Then it was the Insurance Industry.

Now it’s Wall Street.

Specifically Goldman Sachs.

Obama and The Democrats have their target.

But they also have some real problems.

Rep. Darrell Issa, the top Republican on the House Oversight committee, is demanding a slew of documents from the Securities and Exchange Commission, asserting that the timing of civil charges against Goldman Sachs raises “serious questions about the commission’s independence and impartiality.”

Issa’s letter, addressed to SEC Chairwoman Mary Schapiro and signed by eight other House Republicans, asks whether the commission had any contact about the case, prior to its public release, with White House aides, Democratic Party committee officials, or members of Congress or their staff.

“[W]e are concerned that politics have unduly influenced the decision and timing of the commission’s controversial enforcement action against Goldman,” Issa writes.

Issa implied that the timing was a bit too convenient, saying President Barack Obama’s push on Wall Street reform “neatly coincided with the commission’s announcement of the suit.”

And if that wasn’t enough, Obama took nearly a million dollars in campaign contributions from Goldman Sachs, and a former White Aide is now a lawyer for Goldman Sachs!

(Former White House counsel Greg Craig has just signed on as an institutional Sherpa for Goldman Sachs, the iconic financial firm facing fraud charges from the Securities and Exchange Commission.)

“The Goldman litigation … has been widely cited by Democrats in support of the financial regulatory legislation currently before the United States Senate,” Issa writes. “The American people have a right to know whether the commission, or any of its officers or employees, may have violated federal law by using the resources of an independent regulatory agency to promote a partisan political agenda.

…“[T]he events of the past five days have fueled legitimate suspicion on the part of the American people that the commission has attempted to assist the White House, the Democratic Party, and Congressional Democrats by timing the suit to coincide with the Senate’s consideration of financial regulatory legislation, or by providing Democrats with advance notice.”

The Democrats would never stoop to that level of intimidation and misuse of government power, now would they…..

In fact, the aggressive campaign by Democrats in support of the legislation neatly coincided with the Commission’s announcement of the suit. For example:

–The Commission approved the Goldman suit in a vote that spit along party lines – a rare occurrence for approvals of enforcement litigation.

–Before the Commission had released its announcement, the New York Times published on its website a story describing the suit.

–Less than half an hour after the Times story’s publication, Organizing for America, the successor organization to Obama for America and now a project of the Democratic National Committee (“DNC”), sent millions of supporters an e-mail message from President Obama urging support for “Wall Street Reform.”

–Within hours, the Democratic National Committee had purchased AdWords advertising from Google, Inc. The DNC’s Google campaign fundraising advertisement, headed “Fight Wall Street Greed,” appeared whenever a user ran a Google search for the phrase “Goldman Sachs SEC.” It read, “Help Pres. Obama Reform Wall Street and Create Jobs. Families First!” and included a link to http://www.BarackObama.com, the website of Organizing for America.

–Democrats in Congress and the Administration have heralded the Commission’s suit against Goldman as a welcome boost to their case for the legislation.

–Members of the media have already begun to question the timing of the Commission’s suit and the actions of the Democratic National Committee.

As supported by the Commission’s canons of ethics, and as frequently reiterated by you and other Commissioners, the unqualified independence of financial regulators is crucial to the health of the financial system and the U.S. economy. For this reason, doubts about whether the Commission has scrupulously guarded its independence from the Administration’s partisan political agenda and concerted efforts to manipulate Congressional action are very serious, and should be addressed with full transparency.

Transparency, oooh there’s that word again… 🙂

President Barack Obama and congressional Democrats are promising a climactic clash with Wall Street, but there’s a complication in their battle plan: The Democratic Party is closer to corporate America — and to Wall Street in particular — than many Democrats would care to admit. (or the Media for that matter)

Former House Democratic leader Dick Gephardt lobbies for Goldman Sachs, Visa and the coal industry. Former Senate Democratic leader Tom Daschle — Obama’s first choice to head Health and Human Services — is an adviser for a lobbying firm that represents Charles Schwab, Comcast, Lockheed Martin, Verizon and a host of other corporate interests.

Attorney General Eric Holder once lobbied for Global Crossing — sometimes described as the Democratic Enron — and White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel made eight figures in a little more than two years as the Chicago-based managing director at Wasserstein Perella & Co. between jobs as a senior aide in President Bill Clinton’s White House and as the congressman representing Illinois’s 5th District.

And the Democrats rode to their majorities in the House and the Senate on a wave of cash Emanuel and New York Sen. Chuck Schumer helped them raise from Wall Street. Earlier this month, a hedge fund manager at the center of the Goldman Sachs fraud case held a fundraiser for Schumer in New York. (Politico)

Whoops!

Let’s Make sure the Ministry of Truth Media buries that!!

Goldman Sachs and its employees and family members gave $5.9 million to candidates in the 2007-2008 election cycle, the Washington-based center’s data shows. Three-quarters of that went to Democrats, the non-partisan group said. (Bloomberg)

The SEC filed a civil suit on April 16 alleging the firm failed to tell investors in a 2007 collateralized debt obligation that hedge fund Paulson & Co., which planned to bet against the CDO, helped select the underlying assets.

Goldman Sachs has denied the SEC’s accusations and Greg Palm, co-general counsel, told analysts on a conference call today that the firm didn’t intentionally mislead anyone.

Wall Street provided three of Obama’s seven biggest sources of contributors for his presidential bid. In 2007 and 2008, Goldman Sachs employees and family members gave him $994,795, Citigroup Inc. $701,290, and JPMorgan Chase & Co. $695,132.

The only friends of  Democrats are friends of convenience.

“Every day we don’t act, the same system that led to bailouts remains in place, with the exact same loopholes and the exact same liabilities,” President Obama says. “And if we don’t change what led to the crisis, we’ll doom ourselves to repeat it.”(IBD)

Sound Familiar??

And rest assured, you will hear it over and over…

It’s convenient.
