Playing and Being Played

What I find fascinating is the way each side is playing and being played.

The Republicans have bashed Democrats for “appeasing” Dictators and terrorists (which they do) but they themselves are appeasers to the Democrats and the Ministry of Truth.

The Democrats have complete contempt for Republicans, but have no idea that the radical Arabs  and Dictators they trying to be nice to have complete contempt for them.

You can bet Putin, Ahmadinejad, Morsi, Assad, The Muslim Brotherhood, all have contempt for what they see as Obama’s weakness. The same weakness that the Democrats since in the Republicans.

Fascinating…

So what the Republicans really need to do is grows some balls. Pass their own legislation and not give a F*ck what the Democrats do and let the Democrats just blow in the wind.

But I don’t think they have the balls for it. The Republican are too busy trying to be liked and playing by The Marquest of Queensbury rules of Gentile and Gentlemenly behavior with a bunch of amoral Hyper-partisoned Ideological Leftists.

The Rules as the term means as used is to refer to a sense of sportsmanship and fair play.

The Democrats have NONE of that. And the Republicans have yet to figure this out.

And Neither do Dictators and Terrorists. But the Democrats haven’t figured that out yet either. Summits, UN Speeches, and White House Dinner are laughable at best but It make the Democrats feel important.

The psychological blind spots are fascinating…

And speaking being played…A Obama Energy Update….

You won’t hear much about it elsewhere today. But from some downtown Chicago law offices will come the distinct sound of one more nail being driven into the coffin of Barack Obama’s green energy giveaway loans.

A123 Systems will be auctioned off. It’s a Michigan lithium ion battery maker which declared bankruptcy back in October, the same day it cashed another $1 million check from the crack Obama investment team.

A123 is one of those notorious bad bets like Solyndra that the Obama administration poured billions of taxpayer dollars into, allegedly with the hope it would launch a vibrant clean energy industrial sector. As Gov. Romney pointed out during the presidential debates that same month, many of the recipients of those federal loan guarantees just happened to belong to campaign finance bundlers for the same Barack Obama.

A123, an 11-year-old firm founded to manufacture batteries for electric cars and utilities, had received $133 million of its promised $250.1 million loan grants before the bankruptcy, mainly to build a new facility in Michigan.

Just more wasted taxpayer money, right? Another reason for Obama’s coveted tax hikes come next year.

But wait! There’s more! A leading suitor for A123’s remaining assets is Wanxiang Group Corp., a $13 billion firm that’s China’s largest automotive components maker.

So, let’s get this straight: Obama bashes Romney for being a successful (and, whispering, wealthy) venture capitalist so successfully picking so many corporate winners. But Obama gives away money to an American company to develop American battery technology and manufacturing on American soil for American workers. A123 flops financially, as have almost three dozen other hand-picked Obama greenies receiving financial food-stamps from that wheeling-dealing Chicago crowd.

And a private Chinese company comes along to buy up the pieces.

Here’s Obama’s yada-yada in a phone call with company officers two years ago for the plant opening:

“This is about the birth of an entire new industry in America, an industry that’s going to be central to the next generation of cars. And it’s going to allow us to start exporting those cars, making them comfortable, convenient and affordable.”

Well, so far that’s working out great.

Oh, did we mention? A123 like other failed green energy firms under Obama, has secret contracts with the Pentagon. Russians previously bought Ener1 and Think out of bankruptcy, two other business recipients of Obama welfare.

In their first debate Romney noted Obama was often whining about $2 billion in subsidies to large oil companies but Obama had doled out 45 times as much, $90 billion, to green energy companies, much of it wasted. Romney added, “You don’t just pick the winners and losers, you pick the losers.”

Good thing we reelected Obama to a second term so he can finish his demolition work.

Sens. Chuck Grassley and John Thune along with a coalition of former military officers have expressed serious concerns about the possible acquisition by Chinese interests.

“Aside from the national security risk, American taxpayers should not pay for development of a technology that is freely transferred to a non-allied nation,” they said in a letter last month. Wanxiang has promised to divest the military contracts if it wins.

One other suitor for A123 is Johnson Controls Inc. of Milwaukee. So far, Johnson is one of the survivors of Obama’s federal largesse, having received $299 million in help from the Democrat’s feckless Energy Department.

A Wanxiang America spokesman said the company has about 3,000 U.S. employees and had no plans to export jobs back home to China.

Obama, who has 54 decorated trees inside the White House this year, has only one public appearance today. He will venture outdoors to officially light one more, the national Christmas holiday tree. With electricity, not batteries. (IBD)

So the Players are playing and being played while they are playing. And who gets screwed in the end…

You guessed it…

YOU DO! 🙂

Congrats.

The Ministry Tending to its Field

Michael Ramirez Cartoon

Journalism: In just several days the dangerous ineptitude of U.S. foreign policy has been fully exposed. But instead of reporting this meltdown, the media use it to further hurt the candidate they oppose.

Gov Huckabee 2009: I’m sad to report today a death of a good friend to all of us…..Journalism, the once esteemed 4th estate of our nation and the protector of our freedoms and a watchdog of our rights has passed away after a long struggle with a crippling and debilitating disease of acute dishonesty aggravated by advanced laziness and the loss of brain function.

In his weekly address to the nation last week commemorating the 11th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, President Obama claimed that “we’ve strengthened our alliances while improving our security here at home.” He boasted that more than 3-1/2 years into his presidency, “our country is stronger, safer and more respected in the world.”

“During times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act”. George Orwell

Those assertions would be fodder for the most blistering attacks from the mainstream media if this president were a conservative Republican instead of the furthest-to-the-left Democrat ever to sit in the Oval Office.

Less than a week after making such claims, the U.S. State Department had placed itself in an all-out crisis posture few Americans can ever remember happening before as mob attacks on U.S. embassies in the Middle East and North Africa expanded. The alert includes Marine FAST teams being deployed to Libya and Yemen.

What could be more symbolic of the failures of the Obama foreign policy than the contrast of hearing the president and his surrogates repeatedly touting the killing of Osama bin Laden by a U.S. Seal team with pictures of the American flag replaced by al-Qaida’s menacing black standard at the U.S. Embassy in Tunis?

It’s the kind of stuff that’s made for TV news, and would certainly lead off the Big Three networks’ evening newscasts if it were a President McCain or Bush in office.

The photos of a U.S. ambassador dying in the streets would be declared the death knell of any GOP president running for re-election.

But our media, in a chilling threat to voters’ ability to choose a national leader based on accurate reporting of fact, used the Libyan disaster to attack … Mitt Romney.

Romney laudably condemned our Cairo embassy’s apology — issued before the Libyan carnage, then repeated afterward — sympathizing with the attackers.

The media immediately echoed Obama talking points and for days absurdly have made Romney’s statement the story, claiming that Obama and Secretary Hillary Clinton aren’t responsible for what U.S. embassies say.

The truth is that the Middle East is now on fire, precisely because of a policy of appeasement toward Islamists exemplified by that embassy statement.

That’s the real issue here: The U.S. has taken a stance of provocative apologizing toward those who stand under that black al-Qaida flag.

“I’ve come here to Cairo,” Obama said three years ago, “to seek a new beginning between the United States and Muslims around the world, one based on … that America and Islam are not exclusive and need not be in competition. Instead, they overlap.”

It has indeed been a new beginning, but one based on an increasingly obvious new American weakness in the Mideast that the media ignore out of their own political preferences. (IBD)

And now the Libyans are blaming Al-Qaeda because the Muslim Brotherhood is too close to home and they know it. But it’s not like the Ministry of Truth has a follow-up question for them. They still think it’s a movie.

Obama gets off from his massive failure because the media refuses to look and Romney played right into their hands.

But remember, the Media thinks they are not as grotesquely biased as they are.

But neither will they be more “fair” and “balanced”.

Their own self-deception is far greater than their own overt deceptions.

I’ll harp on this again: The Ministry of Truth is involved with news media, entertainment, the fine arts and educational books. Its purpose is to rewrite history and change the facts to fit Party doctrine for propaganda effect. For example, if Big Brother makes a prediction that turns out to be wrong, the employees of the Ministry of Truth go back and rewrite the prediction so that any prediction Big Brother previously made is accurate. This is the “how” of the Ministry of Truth’s existence. Within the novel Orwell elaborates that the deeper reason for its existence is to maintain the illusion that the Party is absolute. It cannot ever seem to change its mind for that would imply weakness and to maintain power the Party must seem eternally right and strong.

The tragic events in Cairo and Benghazi should remove doubt that the foreign policy of the current administration is the most destructive since that of Jimmy Carter.

The only question at this point is whether that policy is, as with Carter, the result of incompetence and naivete — or something more disturbing.

In other words, it may be time to ask whether the setbacks in Arab North Africa and elsewhere have been so numerous and unremitting that, rather than failures, they may be seen as consistent with the view of a president who thinks America is too rich and strong for the world’s good.

How else do you explain the apologies issued to the fanatics who killed our ambassador and burned our embassy, apologies that evoke those offered in a 2009 speech in Cairo by a just-seated president who blamed the hatred some in the Mideast have for the West on “colonialism that denied rights and opportunities to many Muslims”?

How else do you to explain the forsaking of a 30-year ally, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, for a Muslim Brotherhood billed as moderate but now shown to be potentially as fanatical as any government in the region?

And how to explain the rejection of Israel, our only truly democratic ally in the region, which faces nuclear annihilation by Iran, but whose prime minister can’t get an audience with the president because he’s booked on the David Letterman show?

The list of policy failures in the Mideast over the past four years is a long one:

• Iran’s continued development of nuclear weapons capability, as detailed recently by the International Atomic Energy Agency, as we do nothing.

• Continued funding of Egypt to the tune of $1.5 billion in aid a year, along with generous support given to the terrorist-supporting Palestinian government on the West Bank and the terrorist group Hamas in Gaza.

• The retreats from still-unstable Afghanistan, pulling 23,000 troops out of the country even as its political situation deteriorates and despite saying in 2008 that Afghanistan “has to be … the central front on our battle against terrorism.”

• The open hostility of former ally Pakistan, where we can’t even get a supposedly “friendly” regime to release the doctor who helped us locate and take out Osama bin Laden.

• The sudden abandonment of Iraq, after all we’ve done there to stabilize it, leaving that country to the tender mercies of its menacing neighbor, Iran.

But the list doesn’t stop with U.S. failure in the Mideast. Americans can’t be blamed for also wondering why the president has:

• Pledged to “reset” relations with Russia, enabling Vladimir Putin to turn into a tyrant, jail his political foes, bully neighboring countries, aid Iran in getting a nuclear weapon, and provide support to Syrian bad guy Bashar Assad — at our expense.

• Stiffed both the Poles and the Czechs by backing out of a planned regional missile-defense system, putting these staunch allies once again at the mercy of a predatory Russia. This was done, supposedly, to enlist Russia’s help with Iran — help that never came.

• Assured Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev that he’ll have more “flexibility” in foreign affairs once the November election is out of the way.

• Proposed an 80% cut in nuclear weapons that would leave the U.S. vulnerable to less-scrupulous superpowers such as Russia and China while encouraging rogue nations like Iran and North Korea to go nuclear.

• Used across-the-board budget cuts to hollow out the military, diminishing our naval presence to levels not seen since the end of World War I.

• Stood by as China expands its military at double-digit rates, builds a blue-water navy and turns the Eastern Pacific into its own little lake.

• Started treating old friends such as Britain, Canada and Japan as unwanted in-laws and old adversaries such as Russia and China as friends.

VAllowed American guns to flow to cartels in Mexico without Mexico’s knowledge, at a high cost of human life.

Isn’t it time we stop and think and connect all the dots of a foreign policy that’s taking us in a direction we don’t want to go? (IBD)

Jimmy Carter 2.0

But don’t worry, there’s plenty of campaigning, golfing, and speeches about how much my opponent is an asshole that are vastly more important to me, The President, anyhow.

The Ministry of Truth will cover this up for me so I can go back to parading in front of sycophants and groupies.

No worries.

So, on a highly symbolic date, mobs storm American diplomatic facilities and drag the corpse of a U.S. ambassador through the streets. Then the president flies to Vegas for a fundraiser. (Mark Steyn)

And no one in the Ministry bats an eye. After all, it’s not about them! It’s all about a movie…

No, no, says the Broadway director; that’s too crude, too ham-fisted. How about the crowd is cheering and distracted, but he’s the president, he understands the gravity of the hour, and he’s the greatest orator of his generation, so he’s thought about what he’s going to say, and it takes a few moments but his words are so moving that they still the cheers of the fanbois, and at the end there’s complete silence and a few muffled sobs, and even in party-town they understand the sacrifice and loss of their compatriots on the other side of the world.

But no, that would be an utterly fantastical America. In the real America, the president is too busy to attend the security briefing on the morning after a national debacle, but he does have time to do Letterman and appear on a hip-hop radio show hosted by “The Pimp With A Limp.” (MS)

They are just beyond themselves with their own greatness that reality is just that interesting. Certainly not a reality were THEY ARE WRONG and the mighty Obama has fallen. That is a reality that bites.

A reality they will deny and deny you from it. And thus so must you.

The State Department told reporters Friday afternoon that it won’t answer any more questions about the Sept. 11 attack on the consulate in Benghazi that killed four Americans until the investigation into the incident is complete.  “I’m going to frustrate all of you, infinitely, by telling you that now that we have an open FBI investigation on the death of these four Americans, we are not going to be in a position to talk at all about what the U.S. government may or may not be learning about how any of this this happened — not who they were, not how it happened, not what happened to Ambassador Stevens, not any of it — until the Justice Department is ready to talk about the investigation that’s its got,” State Department spokeswoman Victorian Nuland told reporters late Friday afternoon. “So I’m going to send to the FBI for those kinds of questions and they’re probably not going to talk to you about it,” she said. All aspects of the attack, including what led up to it, its causes, the identity of the perpetrators, and the circumstances surrounding the death of Amb. Chris Stevens and the other three Americans, are off limits for reporters. (Townhall)

The Ministry must remain strong.

For Big Brother must always be.

So say we all.  🙂

It’s Only a Movie

Ratings firm Egan-Jones cut its credit rating on the U.S. government to “AA-” from “AA,” citing its opinion that quantitative easing from the Federal Reserve would hurt the U.S. economy and the country’s credit quality.

It was AAA when Obama took over. But I’m sure it all Bush’s fault! 🙂

Political Cartoons by Henry Payne

WH Spokesman Jay Carney: ‘This is not a case of protests directed at the United States writ large or at U.S. policy, this is in response to a video that is offensive to Muslims’

So sacking multiple embassies, burning American flag, shouting “death to America” in 20 countries is just about a silly film and not a coordinated attack as some others have said. I feel better now. 🙂

They torched a KFC in Lebanon. They must have been showing the movie in the lobby. It couldn’t possibly have been because it a American symbol because all this rage is about a movie not America.

So it’s about a movie on the internet and not a coordinated terrorist attack on the 11th anniversary of another terrorist attack. Nope, Not at all.

It has to be about the film to the liberals because otherwise it’s about THEM and their appeasement and apology strategy. And we all know liberals are never wrong about anything and The Ministry of Truth has to keep the administration strong.

To quote The Rev. Jeremiah Wright, “America’s Chicken’s have come home to roost!”

And it’s all George Bush’s Fault! 🙂

Obama in 2011 said: “We must stand alongside those who believe in the same core principles that have guided us through many storms … our support for a set of universal rights, including the freedom for people to express themselves and choose their leaders; our support for the governments that are ultimately responsive to the aspirations of the people.”

The Libyan mob was the equivalent of our founding fathers! (If you overlook the part about it being a murderous Islamic mob.) That was tied to the Muslim Brotherhood even then.

But Liberal weren’t listening. They were too caught in their own foreign policy “success” to listen to reason.
Now they have to be unreasonable and go great rhetorical lengths to avoid being blamed for it.
The American Revolution was not the revolt of a mob. It was a carefully thought-out plan for a republic, based on ideas painstakingly argued by serious men in the process of creating what would become the freest, most prosperous nation in world history. The much-ballyhooed “Arab Spring,” with mobs of men gang-raping American reporters, firing guns in the air and murdering their erstwhile dictators, is more akin to the pointless bloodletting of the French Revolution.

That godless antithesis to the founding of America is the primogenitor of the horrors of the Bolshevik Revolution, Hitler’s Nazi Party, Mao’s Cultural Revolution, Pol Pot’s slaughter and America’s periodic mob uprisings, from Shays’ Rebellion to today’s union thugs in Madison, Wis., and Occupy Wall Street.

Americans did win freedom and greater individual rights with their revolution. By contrast, the French Revolution resulted in bestial savagery, a slaughter of all the revolution’s leaders, followed by Napoleon’s dictatorship, followed by another monarchy, and then finally something resembling an actual republic 80 years later.

Violent mob uprisings have never led to a functioning democratic republic. (Ann Coulter)

And the “arab spring” was not a democracy movement. You replace 1 titular dictator with a religious version of dictators. Hardly something to crow about.
The Ministry of Truth is involved with news media, entertainment, the fine arts and educational books. Its purpose is to rewrite history and change the facts to fit Party doctrine for propaganda effect. Obama in 2007: The Day I’m Inaugurated the Muslim World Will Look at America Differently

Yeah as weak, tired and not willing to fight. So they can do whatever they want.

4 dead bodies arrive from Libya, it’s time for another  Fundraiser! Got have those priorities straight.

In the Daily Caller, Neil Munro reports that the Obama administration has asked YouTube to suppress the offensive film that is the pretext for some of the Islamist rioting.  This is, of course, in accordance with the demands of the Muslim brotherhood.

It goes without saying that such government interference in speech protected by the First Amendment is uncomfortably close to a complete betrayal of the President’s oath to protect and defend the US Constitution. The “speech” to which the Islamists object is, true, offensive.  So is “Piss Christ” and a variety of other anti-Christian (or anti-Semitic) rhetoric.  But under our foundational principles, speech rights cannot be abridged by the government unless its purpose is to incite imminent lawless action.  This doesn’t cover a film criticizing a religion (even if the film is tasteless and repugnant), i.e., something that might ruffle sensitivities enough to make people want to riot once they can get a riot organized. It means instead something like a person on the spot urging on an angry and hysterical crowd, say, to attack an embassy.

As it turns out, the administration’s move shows as much respect for the First Amendment’s free speech provisions as the ObamaCare contraceptive mandate shows for the First Amendment’s religious guarantees.

Munro’s piece suggests that the Obama administration is trying to quell the Islamist unrest at almost any cost, given the threat it constitutes to the President’s re-election. Each voter will have to decide for him- or herself whether that’s true, but it is deeply troubling that the Obama administration is willing to ride roughshod over the American Constitution in order to appease our enemies.

Where does this end? (DC)

November 6th, when you vote to get rid of this OBAMAnation. Or else.

Picking Winners

Comedian Adam Carolla went on a tirade about the mentality that he sees driving the Occupy movement, seething, “We’ve created a bunch of f—ing self-entitled monsters.”

As Carolla sees it, the seeds of self-entitlement were planted decades ago, as parents began to coddle their children instead of emphasizing a merit-based system.

“There’s something that’s come up in this country that didn’t use to exist, which is envy. And it’s a big issue,” Carolla stated, “We’re now dealing with the first wave of participation trophy, my own fecal matter doesn’t stink, empowered, I feel so f—ing good about myself, everyone’s a winner, there’s no losers … we’re dealing with the first wave of those f—ing assholes.”

Carolla went on to blame the parents of the “millennial” generation, accusing them of failing to prepare their children for the harsh realities of adult life.

“We’ve created a bunch of f—ing self-entitled monsters,” he said. “You should feel good about yourself because of your accomplishments. Not because somebody yelled at you to feel good about yourself and you got a f—ing fake piece of plastic that was spayed gold and had your name on a plaque on the bottom of it.”

Carolla suggests that the young adults involved are merely feeling embarrassment for a lack of professional accomplishments.

“They’re feeling shame. They’ve been shamed by life because they haven’t been prepared for life. They’ve had so much smoke blown up their collective asses, by the time they get out in the real world and they realize, the real world doesn’t give a f–k where you’re from or what your mommy said you were or how pretty you are,” he said.

“There’s something that’s come up in this country that didn’t use to exist, which is envy. And it’s a big issue,” Carolla posited. “We’re now dealing with the first wave of participation trophy, my own fecal matter doesn’t stink, empowered, I feel so f—ing good about myself, everyone’s a winner, there’s no losers … we’re dealing with the first wave of those f—ing assholes.”

Carolla isn’t alone in his disdain for the Occupy movement — earlier this month, graphic novelist Frank Miller likened the OWS protestors to “rapists,” warning, “These clowns can do nothing but harm America.”

AMEN!

Now the results of Obama’s “Arab Spring” have started to sprout. And the crab grass and weeds are showing.

Islamic Muslim Brotherhood appears to hold the lead of seats in the  first round of Egypt’s first parliamentary vote since Hosni Mubarak’s  ouster, a trend that if confirmed would give religious parties a popular  mandate in the struggle to win control from the ruling military and  ultimately reshape a key U.S. ally.

Its credo was and remains: “Allah is our objective, the Quran is our  constitution, the Prophet is our leader, jihad is our way and death for  the sake of Allah is the highest of our aspirations.”

So good Job Obama, you backed yet another winner! 😦

The Obama Administration is making a mistake by endorsing the Muslim Brotherhood as if it were made up of moderates or “good guys” just because they are not blowing things up.

What moderate Arabs and Muslims do not understand is the rush of the Barack Obama Administration to endorse extremist Islamic groups such as the Muslim Brotherhood.

The Muslim Brotherhood decision to run in the parliamentary elections under the banner of “Freedom and Justice” does not necessarily mean that the organization has changed its ideology.

Its credo was and remains: “Allah is our objective, the Quran is our constitution, the Prophet is our leader, jihad is our way and death for the sake of Allah is the highest of our aspirations.”

The organization believes the Quran and Sharia law (the “Justice” part of “Freedom and Justice”) should be the basis for any Islamic government; that all Muslims should be unified under a Caliphate, and that its principles include “liberating Arabs and Muslims from foreign imperialism.”

The Obama Administration seems deliberately to want to be unaware of “taqiyya” [dissimulation], a silent and therefore even more dangerous tactic advocated in Islam to achieve the strategic goal of soothing the infidels into submitting without their even realizing what they have submitted to until it is too late for them — called “Stealth Sharia.”

If anyone thinks that the Muslim Brotherhood will abandon jihad and extremism once its members come to power, they are living in an illusion.

Hamas did the same thing in the Palestinian parliamentary elections in 2006, when it contested the vote under the banner of Change and Reform. In Tunisia, the Islamists chose to run under the banner of Annahda [Renaissance], while in Morocco they hid behind the name Justice and Development.

The nice and attractive names that the Islamists choose for their parties are above all intended to fool Westerners into thinking that Muslim extremists do not pose a threat to non-Muslims. The Muslim Brotherhood and its allies will do everything to hide their true intentions from Western governments and people. But once they come to power, they reveal their true colors.

The US Administration, which has determined that the Muslim Brotherhood is probably not that bad after all, is most likely unaware of what happened in Cairo last week, when thousands of the organization’s supporters chanted “death to the Jews” and vowed to wage jihad [holy war] against Israel.

At a rally co-sponsored by Al-Azhar University under the banner “The Friday for Supporting Al-Aqsa Mosque,” Muslim Brotherhood supporters also chanted: “O Tel Aviv, the day of judgment has come!” and “We will march on Jerusalem and sacrifice millions of martyrs!”

According to Eldad Beck, an Arab affairs correspondent for the Israeli online newspaper Ynet, about 5,000 Egyptians participated in the event, held to mark the anniversary of the 1947 UN Partition Plan for Palestine.

Mohammed Ahmed Tayeb, the imam of Al-Azhar Mosque, told the crowd that the “Al-Aqsa Mosque is currently under an offensive by the Jews. We shall not allow Zionists to Judaize Jerusalem.”

The messages coming out of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt did not surprise most Arabs and Muslims who are familiar with the organization and its agenda.

Although Hamas won the elections in 2006 under the banner of Change and Reform, the movement has since not changed its ideology, and continues to call for the destruction of Israel. Only those who are naive would believe that Hamas would ever recognize Israel’s right to exist.

In 2006, the Americans made the mistake of allowing Hamas to run unconditionally in the elections. Back then, Washington should have demanded that Hamas first recognize Israel’s right to exist and the Oslo Accords, and renounce terrorism as a precondition for participating in the election.

Ten years earlier, Hamas boycotted the same election: it said the vote was being held under the Oslo Accords, which the movement does not recognize.

There is nothing that Washington can do to stop the Islamists from hijacking the “Arab Spring,” but by endorsing the Muslim Brotherhood, the US Administration has facilitated the organization’s ultimate goal of establishing an Islamic Caliphate.

Those who were chanting “death to the Jews” in Cairo also want to kill all “infidels,” including Americans and Europeans.

On their way to achieving their goal, the Islamists will also kill the moderate Muslims — whom they see as just a fifth column. (Khaled Abu Toameh)

But don’t worry, if we’re just really, really nice to them…

Sorry, time-limited, scope-limited military action.Kinetically even! 🙂

“To brush aside America’s responsibility as a leader and — more profoundly — our responsibilities to our fellow human beings under such circumstances would have been a betrayal of who we are,” Obama said. “Some nations may be able to turn a blind eye to atrocities in other countries. The United States of America is different. And as president, I refused to wait for the images of slaughter and mass graves before taking action.”

…At this point, the United States and the world faced a choice.  Qaddafi declared he would show “no mercy” to his own people.  He compared them to rats, and threatened to go door to door to inflict punishment.  In the past, we have seen him hang civilians in the streets, and kill over a thousand people in a single day.  Now we saw regime forces on the outskirts of the city.  We knew that if we wanted — if we waited one more day, Benghazi, a city nearly the size of Charlotte, could suffer a massacre that would have reverberated across the region and stained the conscience of the world.”–President Obama Last night.

Gee, in 2009 when the student revolution against Ahmadinejad came and went when it was crushed BRUTALLY he did nothing. No outrage.

Darfur, in the Sudan must be next. That’s a genocide.

Then there’s North Korea.

China, people are sent to gulags and imprisoned or just “disappear” all the time.

How about Cuba, Venezuela, Ethopia, Zimbabwe…

Oh that’s right, Liberals hate having their shortcomings pointed out to them. They were righteous and we just let them be righteous and bask in their superiority.

And “feel good” liberalism.

They are all puffed up with a sense of greatness right now. The fact that they are ridiculously hypocritical, yet again, is not the be mentioned.

Especially, the “Gadhafi must go” and now he has he ruled out targeting Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi, warning that trying to oust him militarily would be a costly mistake.

So what is the end game here then?

And the rebels are now being supported by Al-Qaeda, and who’s supporting the Rebels, we are!

So that’s why I secretly think he wants the “rebels” to do it for him. Because if Gadhafi stays in power he will slaughter his enemies. That’s a given and Obama knows this. But his “superior morality” won’t extend to doing in war what you are supposed to do in war.

Win.

That’s dirty George Bush “unilateral” “cowboy” stuff.

Of course, since this is a tribal war, the rebels will undoubtedly slaughter the pro-Gadhafi forces if they win.

And if indeed, Al-Qaeda is supplying the rebels and the Muslim Brotherhood is behind the coming elections in Egypt, Obama may have just created the biggest, nastiest mess for the US in generations that could last generations.

But his heart was in the right place.

He had the best of intentions.

So cut him a break.

Sorry, NO!

The road to hell is pave with liberalism’s “good intentions”.

All thanks to our Dear Leader. 🙂

Victor David Hanson: President Obama just gave a weird speech. Part George W. Bush, part trademark Obama — filled with his characteristic split-the-difference, straw-man (“some say, others say”), false-choice tropes…

His dithering and confusing Orwellian  need to be a COMMUNITY ORIGINIZER, perhaps.

“Um, I think we’re all beginning to lose sight of the real issue here, which is “What are we going to call ourselves?” um, and I think it comes down to a choice between `The League Against Salivating Monsters’ or my own personal preference, which is `The Committee for the Liberation and Integration of Terrifying Organisms and their Rehabilitation Into Society’. Um, one drawback with that… the abbreviation is `CLITORIS’.- Red Dwarf episode “Polymorph”.

So that’s why he waited a month and up to the point where the resurgent Gadhafi was about to crush the rebels with superior firepower.

I think somewhere a flock of ducks just went lame.

So it’s up to his superior morality to decide who is being slaughtered and whose not.

He’s God. The decision of who lives and who dies is in his hands.

Gee, that sounds like ObamaCare. 🙂

And as for the liberal harp count on how much Iraq and Afghanistan cost (in just 6 days):

One week after an international military coalition intervened in Libya, the cost to U.S. taxpayers has reached at least $600 million, according figures provided by the Pentagon.

U.S. ships and submarines in the Mediterranean have unleashed at least 191 Tomahawk cruise missiles from their arsenals to the tune of $268.8 million, the Pentagon said.

U.S. warplanes have dropped 455 precision guided bombs, costing tens of thousands of dollars each.

downed Air Force F-15E fighter jet will cost more than $60 million to replace.

And operation of the war craft, guzzling ever-expensive fuel to maintain their positions off the Libyan coast and in the skies above, could reach millions of dollars a week, experts say.

In 6 days, God made $600 million dollars that we don’t have disappear. So how long before we need a “stimulus” or a “quantitative easing” to borrow more money for the Chinese for this war that isn’t war because Liberals don’t even recognize the word exists when they start one.

In 6 Days God made a mountain of debt, again!

But damn if they don’t “feel good” about themselves and puffed up their superior moral selves!

And how dare you poke holes in their superiority!

How dare you question GOD himself!

Charles Krauthammer: President Obama is proud of how he put together the Libyan operation. A model of international cooperation. All the necessary paperwork. Arab League backing. A Security Council resolution. (Everything but a resolution from the Congress of the United States, a minor inconvenience for a citizen of the world.) It’s war as designed by an Ivy League professor.

True, it took three weeks to put this together, during which time Moammar Qaddafi went from besieged, delusional (remember those youthful protesters on “hallucinogenic pills”) thug losing support by the hour — to resurgent tyrant who marshaled his forces, marched them to the gates of Benghazi, and had the U.S. director of national intelligence predicting that “the regime will prevail.”

But what is military initiative and opportunity compared with paper?

Well, let’s see how that paper multilateralism is doing. The Arab League is already reversing itself, criticizing the use of force it just authorized. Amr Moussa, secretary general of the Arab League, is shocked — shocked! — to find that people are being killed by allied airstrikes. This reaction was dubbed mystifying by one commentator, apparently born yesterday and thus unaware that the Arab League has forever been a collection of cynical, warring, unreliable dictatorships of ever-shifting loyalties. A British soccer mob has more unity and moral purpose. Yet Obama deemed it a great diplomatic success that the League deigned to permit others to fight and die to save fellow Arabs for whom 19 of 21 Arab states have yet to lift a finger.

And what about that brilliant U.N. resolution?

● Russia’s Vladimir Putin is already calling the Libya operation a medieval crusade.

● China is calling for a cease-fire to be put in place — which would completely undermine the allied effort by leaving Qaddafi in power, his people at his mercy, and the country partitioned and condemned to ongoing civil war.

● Brazil joined China in that call for a cease-fire. This just hours after Obama ended his fawning two-day Brazil visit. Another triumph of presidential personal diplomacy.

And how about NATO? Let’s see. As of this writing, Britain wanted the operation to be led by NATO. France adamantly disagreed, citing Arab sensibilities. Germany wanted no part of anything, going so far as to pull four of its ships from NATO command in the Mediterranean. France and Germany walked out of a NATO meeting on Monday, while Norway had planes in Crete ready to go but refused to let them fly until it had some idea who the hell is running the operation. And Turkey, whose prime minister four months ago proudly accepted the Qaddafi International Prize for Human Rights, has been particularly resistant to the Libya operation from the beginning.

And as for the United States, who knows what American policy is. Administration officials insist we are not trying to bring down Qaddafi, even as the president insists that he must go. Although on Tuesday Obama did add “unless he changes his approach.” Approach, mind you.

In any case, for Obama, military objectives take a back seat to diplomatic appearances. The president is obsessed with pretending that we are not running the operation — a dismaying expression of Obama’s view that his country is so tainted by its various sins that it lacks the moral legitimacy to . . . what? Save Third World people from massacre?

Obama seems equally obsessed with handing off the lead role. Hand off to whom? NATO? Quarreling amid Turkish resistance (see above), NATO still can’t agree on taking over command of the airstrike campaign, which is what has kept the Libyan rebels alive.

This confusion is purely the result of Obama’s decision to get America into the war and then immediately relinquish American command. Never modest about himself, Obama is supremely modest about his country. America should be merely “one of the partners among many,” he said Monday. No primus inter pares for him. Even the Clinton administration spoke of America as the indispensable nation. And it remains so. Yet at a time when the world is hungry for America to lead — no one has anything near our capabilities, experience, and resources — America is led by a man determined that it should not.

A man who dithers over parchment. Who starts a war from which he wants out right away. Good God. If you go to take Vienna, take Vienna. If you’re not prepared to do so, better then to stay home and do nothing.

And on the 7th day, God went and played another round of golf while dreaming of being a sports analyst on ESPN… 🙂

The Brotherhood Of Hope

Political Cartoons by Michael Ramirez

The “moderate”, “minority” voice that does not distress The President, Liberals, or the Liberal Press — The Muslim Brotherhood.

“The Islamic ummah,” it says, referring to the supranational community of Muslims, “can regain its power and be liberated and assume its rightful position which was intended by Allah, as the most exalted nation among men, as the leaders of humanity.”

Elsewhere, it exhorts Muslims, “Know your status, and believe firmly that you are the masters of the world, even if your enemies desire your degradation.”

“The Brotherhood is not rushed by youth’s enthusiasm into immature and unplanned action which will not alter the bad reality and may even harm the Islamic activity, and will benefit the people of falsehood,” Mashhur wrote.

“One should know that it is not necessary that the Muslims repel every attack or damage caused by the enemies of Allah immediately, but [only] when ability and the circumstances are fit to it.”

Jihad is the Way explicitly endorses the reinstatement of a worldwide Islamic regime.

“It should be known that jihad and preparation towards jihad are not only for the purpose of fending off assaults and attacks of Allah’s enemies from Muslims, but are also for the purpose of realizing the great task of establishing an Islamic state and strengthening the religion and spreading it around the world.”

“Jihad for Allah,” Mashhur wrote, “is not limited to the specific region of the Islamic countries, since the Muslim homeland is one and is not divided, and the banner of Jihad has already been raised in some of its parts, and shall continue to be raised, with the help of Allah, until every inch of the land of Islam will be liberated, and the State of Islam established.”

Hassan al-Banna, the movement’s founder, “felt the grave danger overshadowing the Muslims and the urgent need and obligation which Islam places on every Muslim, man and woman, to act in order to restore the Islamic Caliphate and to reestablish the Islamic state on strong foundations.”

“Honorable brothers have achieved shahada [martyrdom] on the soil of beloved Palestine, during the years ’47 and ’48, in their jihad against the criminal, thieving, gangs of Zion,” it says.

“Still today, memory of them horrifies the Jews and the name of the Muslim Brotherhood terrifies them.”

“The problems of the Islamic world – such as in Palestine, Afghanistan, Syria, Eritrea or the Philippines – are not issues of territories and nations, but of faith and religion.

They are the problems of Islam and all Muslims, and their resolution cannot be negotiated and bargained by recognizing the enemy’s right to the Islamic land he stole, and therefore there is no other option but jihad for Allah, and this is why jihad is the way.” (Jerusalem Post)

This a translation released Tuesday of a 1995 book by the movement’s fifth official leader sheds light on just how Egypt’s Brotherhood views itself and its mission. Jihad is the Way is the last of a five-volume work, The Laws of Da’wa by Mustafa Mashhur, who headed the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt from 1996-2002.

There’s nothing there is there. Nothing to see. No Problems. Not serious. Just move on. Ignore it. 😦

Oh and while you’re at it. Thank the NEA (National Teacher’s Union), Liberal education “investments” for the following:

26% of U.S. don’t know who we declared independence from: Marist poll

Roughly one-fourth of people in this country don’t know that the U.S. declared its independence from Great Britain, according to a recent poll.

Roughly one-fourth of people in this country don’t know that the U.S. declared its independence from Great Britain, according to a recent poll.

How dumb are we?

Apparently, pretty dumb.

At least according to a new Marist poll, which says 26% of people in this country don’t know that the U.S. declared its independence from Great Britain.

That includes 20% who were unsure and 6% who thought the U.S. separated from another nation.

So what country do people think the U.S. achieved its independence from?

Among the countries mentioned were France, China, Japan, Mexico and Spain.

The poll surveyed 1,004 Americans in June and had 3% margin of error.

Government Visions

The disturbingly static nature of Obama’s vision is apparent when one parses his comments on the bipartisan fiscal commission headed by Erskine Bowles and Alan Simpson, and its stark description of how entitlements are on a path to consume the private economy.

“I don’t agree with all their proposals,” Obama began, on what one can hardly call a positive note. On health care, he persists in claiming that Obamacare “will slow these rising costs,” though every informed person knows that the claimed budget savings are the result of Democrats gaming the Congressional Budget Office’s scoring system.

To which Obama added, “I’m willing to look at other ideas to bring down costs” — which sounds a lot like, “I sure can’t think of many.”

And then there is Social Security. Obama calls for a bipartisan solution “without putting at risk current retirees, the most vulnerable, or people with disabilities; without slashing benefits for future generations; and without subjecting Americans’ guaranteed retirement income to the whims of the stock market.”

In other words, let’s reform it but don’t change anything!

That’s an outright rejection of the Pozen plan, which could eliminate much of the future shortfall by indexing the benefits of future high-earner retirees by prices rather than by wages. The Pozen plan would leave low-earners’ benefits untouched and so would actually make the system more progressive. But Obama rejects this mild proposal out of hand.

If you put together Obama’s resistance to just about any serious changes in entitlement spending with his antique vision of technological progress, what you see is an America where the public sector permanently consumes a larger part of the economy than in the past and squanders the proceeds on white elephants like faux high-speed rail lines and political payoffs to the teacher and other public-sector unions. Private-sector innovation gets squeezed out by regulations like the Obama FCC’s net neutrality rules. It’s a plan for a static rather than dynamic economy. (Townhall.com)

The EPA regulating industry, your breath (CO2), Milk, and more.

The FCC regulating the Internet.

FTC regulating business.

But it stays within his ideology and his liberal “vision” of Utopia. And that, after all, is all that matters to him. He has a vision, and that’s it.

High Speed rails, Green Jobs, Green Tech, wind farms, Electric cars, government as nanny and mother, the Birds signing, the Sun shining! Kumbuya!

The Muslim Brotherhood is not an issue (they’ve just started revolutions in Tunsia, Egypt, Jordan, and Yemen- no problem). They are the progenitors of Al-Qaeda and Hamas, but that’s till nothing to worry about.

Reality is not an issue.

Then there’s the TSA:

The TSA has announced its intention to expand the VIPR program to include roadside inspections of commercial vehicles, setting up a network of internal checkpoints and rolling out security procedures already active in airports, bus terminals and subway stations to roads and highways across the United States.

Up until now, commercial trucks and other vehicles only were subject to warrantless searches and radiation scans at specially designated “state-owned inspection stations” traditionally set up at rest stops next to highways. These internal checkpoints, run by Homeland Security, the Department of Transportation, and the TSA, involve trucks being scanned with backscatter x-ray devices in the name of “safety” and “counter terrorism”.

These inspection stations are now being expanded to normal roads and highways, unleashing an army of TSA agents who will be given a free hand to litter America with internal checkpoints in a chilling throwback to Soviet-style levels of control over the population.

“Inspectors from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) are likely to be more involved in roadside inspections of commercial vehicles, according to TSA officials,” reports the industry website BulkTransporter.com.

”VIPR (Visible Intermodal Prevention and Response) teams can be extremely effective, serving as a visible presence that is random and unpredictable,” says William Arrington with TSA. “VIPR teams are an essential part of protecting highway transportation vehicles and other critical infrastructures.”

The report also notes that, “VIPR team members may or may not be in uniform,” stoking fears about the use of secret police manning checkpoints which would be more befitting of the Soviet Union or the former East Germany.

As we have documented, airport security style checkpoints and inspection procedures are already in place at bus terminals, train stations, and are rapidly being expanded to the streets of America.

Since the launch of the Department of Homeland Security’s “See Something, Say Something” program, the DHS has also released promotional material which depicts would-be TSA agents conducting searches at public events, including a Buccaneers football game.

Homeland Security is also developing technology to be used at “security events” which purports to monitor “malintent” on behalf of an individual who passes through a checkpoint. The video below explains how “Future Attribute Screening Technology” (FAST) checkpoints will conduct “physiological” and “behavioral” tests in order to weed out suspected terrorists and criminals.

TSA is clearly engaged in a total takeover of society and plans to have its agents searching, patting down, scanning and harassing Americans at all levels of society, not just at transport hubs but at public events, in the street and on highways and roads across the country. (Infowars)
