Intelligence Failure

Well, now we know why. But is it a surprise. After all, it isn’t an AGENDA item so it must really bore him. Let his minions do the lowly stuff.

A new Government Accountability Institute (GAI) report reveals that President Barack Obama has attended only 42.1% of his daily intelligence briefings (known officially as the Presidential Daily Brief, or PDB) in the 2,079 days of his presidency through September 29, 2014.

The GAI report also included a breakdown of Obama’s PDB attendance record between terms; he attended 42.4% of his PDBs in his first term and 41.3% in his second.

The GAI’s alarming findings come on the heels of Obama’s 60 Minutes comments on Sunday, wherein the president laid the blame for the Islamic State’s (ISIS) rapid rise squarely at the feet of his Director of National Intelligence James Clapper.

“I think our head of the intelligence community, Jim Clapper, has acknowledged that I think they underestimated what had been taking place in Syria,” said Obama.

Because they were supposed to be doing the Job-That-President-didn’t-wanna-do  🙂 and they failed him, so it must be by default, their fault.

It surely can’t be his fault! Nothing is ever his fault! He’s too smart. He’s too wonderful. To clever to be at fault for anything, especially boring old crap he doesn’t give a shit about that other people where supposed to handle for him in the first place.

He’s King, not Commander-in-Chief, after all! 🙂

According to Daily Beast reporter Eli Lake, members of the Defense establishment were “flabbergasted” by Obama’s attempt to shift blame.

“Either the president doesn’t read the intelligence he’s getting or he’s bullshitting,” a former senior Pentagon official “who worked closely on the threat posed by Sunni jihadists in Syria and Iraq” told the Daily Beast.

Bullshit. If you can’t dazzle them with your Wile E Coyote Suuuuper Genius, you baffle them with bullshit, then get the Media to repeat it often enough people forget it was your bullshit.

On Monday, others in the intelligence community similarly blasted Obama and said he’s shown longstanding disinterest in receiving live, in-person PDBs that allow the Commander-in-Chief the chance for critical followup, feedback, questions, and the challenging of flawed intelligence assumptions.

“It’s pretty well-known that the president hasn’t taken in-person intelligence briefings with any regularity since the early days of 2009,” an Obama national security staffer told the Daily Mail on Monday. “He gets them in writing.”

The Obama security staffer said the president’s PDBs have contained detailed threat warnings about the Islamic State dating back to before the 2012 presidential election.

“Unless someone very senior has been shredding the president’s daily briefings and telling him that the dog ate them, highly accurate predictions about ISIL have been showing up in the Oval Office since before the 2012 election,” the Obama security staffer told the Daily Mail.

This is not the first time questions have been raised about Obama’s lack of engagement and interest in receiving in-person daily intelligence briefings. On September 10, 2012, the GAI released a similar report showing that Obama had attended less than half (43.8%) of his daily intelligence briefings up to that point. When Washington Post columnist Marc Thiessen mentioned the GAI’s findings in his column, then-White House Press Secretary Jay Carney dubbed the findings “hilarious.” The very next day, U.S. Libyan Ambassador Chris Stevens and three American staff members were murdered in Benghazi. As Breitbart News reported at the time, the White House’s very own presidential calendar revealed Obama had not received his daily intel briefing in the five consecutive days leading up to the Benghazi attacks.

Ultimately, as ABC News reported, the White House did not directly dispute the GAI’s numbers but instead said Obama prefers to read his PDB on his iPad instead of receiving the all-important live, in-person briefings.

Now, with ISIS controlling over 35,000 square miles of territory in its widening caliphate in Iraq and Syria, and with Obama pointing fingers at his own Director of National Intelligence James Clapper for the rise of ISIS, the question remains whether a 42% attendance record on daily intelligence briefings is good enough for most Americans. (Breitbart)

But what do I know, I’m just a “hater”, after all. 🙂

Now ISIS…

Campaign War

never forget“We will hunt down terrorists who threaten our country, wherever they are,” Mr. Obama declared in a 14-minute address. “That means I will not hesitate to take action against ISIL in Syria, as well as Iraq,” he added, using an alternative name for ISIS. “This is a core principle of my presidency: If you threaten America, you will find no safe haven.”

How many believe this is campaign rhetoric? How many actually believe Mr “Red Line” is serious?

Certainly not the terrorists.

The Left has completely forgotten 9/11. They had to, so they did.

“They were at war with us, but we weren’t at war with them” — 9/11 Report. Sound Familiar?

“These American forces will not have a combat mission; we will not get dragged into another ground war in Iraq,” Mr. Obama pledged, adding that the mission “will be different from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan; it will not involve American combat troops fighting on foreign soil.” (NYT)

Don’t you love how he telegraphs everything in the media? 🙂

Then we can’t possibly win. But then again, he’s just looking to win just enough to get the critics off his back so he can go back to golfing and the Democrats stand a chance in November.

Nothing more than that.

Another “campaign” war. More “symbolism” and “jingoism” that’s his “strategy”.

Make it look like’s doing something….ANYTHING…Just get off his back so he can go back to be King!

We need more Winston Churchill and less Ward Churchill.

Those people who say that President Obama has no clear vision and no clear strategy for dealing with the ISIS terrorists in the Middle East may be mistaken. It seems to me that he has a very clear and very consistent strategy. And a vision behind that strategy.

First the strategy — which is to get each crisis off the front pages and off television news programs as quickly as he can, in whatever way he can, at the lowest political cost. Calling ISIS a junior varsity months ago accomplished that goal.

Saying before the 2012 elections that “bin Laden is dead” and that terrorism was defeated accomplished the goal of getting reelected.

Ineffective sanctions against Iran and Russia likewise serve a clear purpose. They serve to give the illusion that Obama is doing something that will stop Iran from getting nuclear bombs and stop Russia from invading Ukraine.

This forestalls the massive and enraged outcries there would be if the public were fully aware that he was doing nothing serious enough to prevent either of these things from happening. Generations of Americans yet unborn may curse us all for leaving them hostage to a nuclear terrorist Iran. But generations yet unborn do not vote, so they carry no weight with Barack Obama.

No one has a perfect batting average in any field, so Obama has been caught in some dicey situations, such as the sudden eruption of ISIS on the world stage, with their videotaped beheadings that make it hard to get them off the front pages and off the TV newscasts.

Caught off guard, the president has played for time — time for Iraq to get its internal politics fixed, time for our allies to come together, time for the military to create a strategy. Ideally, from his standpoint, time for the whole ISIS crisis to blow over.

There is always someone else to blame for whatever goes wrong in the Obama administration. Supposedly the intelligence services had not kept him informed about how imminent the ISIS threat was. But others who received top-secret briefings by the intelligence services say otherwise.

Some people are wondering how someone of obvious intelligence like Barack Obama could be so mistaken about so many things, especially in deadly foreign policy issues. But there is no way of knowing whether anyone is succeeding or failing without first knowing what they are trying to do.

If you assume that Barack Obama is trying to protect the safety and interests of the United States and its allies, then clearly he has been a monumental failure. It is hard to think of any part of the world where things have gotten better for us since the Obama administration began.

Certainly not in Iraq. Or Iran. Or Libya. Or China. Things went from bad to worse after Obama intervened in Egypt and helped put the murderous Muslim Brotherhood in power. Fortunately for Egypt — and for the whole Middle East — the Egyptian military took the Muslim Brotherhood out of power, in defiance of Obama.

If you start from the assumption that Barack Obama wanted to advance America’s interests, this is truly an unbelievable record of failure. But what is there in Obama’s background that would justify the assumption that America’s best interests are his goal?

He has, from childhood on, been mentored by, or allied with, people hostile to the United States and to American values. His mentors and allies have all been very much like the Reverend Jeremiah Wright, even if they were not as flamboyant.

Barack Obama has succeeded in reducing America’s military strength while our adversaries are increasing theirs, and reducing our credibility and influence with our allies. That is completely consistent with his vision of how the world ought to be, with the West taken down a peg and humbled.

We are currently at a point where we can either kill as many of the ISIS terrorists as possible over there — where they are bunched together and visible against a desert background — or else leave the job half done and have them come over here, where they will be hard to find, and can start beheading Americans in America.

Everything in Barack Obama’s history suggests that he is going to leave the job half done, so long as that gets the issue off the front pages and off the TV newscasts. (Thomas Sowell)

Fore Score

Maureen Dowd: FORE! Score? And seven trillion rounds ago, our forecaddies brought forth on this continent a new playground, conceived by Robert Trent Jones, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal when it comes to spending as much time on the links as possible — even when it seems totally inappropriate, like moments after making a solemn statement condemning the grisly murder of a 40-year-old American journalist beheaded by ISIL.

I know reporters didn’t get a chance to ask questions, but I had to bounce. I had a 1 p.m. tee time at Vineyard Golf Club with Alonzo Mourning and a part-owner of the Boston Celtics. Hillary and I agreed when we partied with Vernon Jordan up here, hanging out with celebrities and rich folks is fun.

Now we are engaged in a great civil divide in Ferguson, which does not even have a golf course, and that’s why I had a “logistical” issue with going there. We are testing whether that community, or any community so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure when the nation’s leader wants nothing more than to sink a birdie putt.

We are met on a great field of that battle, not Augusta, not Pebble Beach, not Bethpage Black, not Burning Tree, but Farm Neck Golf Club in Martha’s Vineyard, which we can’t get enough of — me, Alonzo, Ray Allen and Marvin Nicholson, my trip director and favorite golfing partner who has played 134 rounds and counting with me.

We have to dedicate a portion of that field as a final resting place for my presidency, if I keep swinging from behind.

Yet it is altogether fitting and proper that I should get to play as much golf as I want, despite all the lame jokes about how golf is turning into “a real handicap” for my presidency and how I have to “stay the course” with ISIL. I’ve heard all the carping that I should be in the Situation Room droning and plinking the bad folks. I know some people think I should go to Ferguson. Don’t they understand that I’ve delegated the Martin Luther King Jr. thing to Eric Holder? Plus, Valerie Jarrett and Al Sharpton have it under control.

I know it doesn’t look good to have pictures of me grinning in a golf cart juxtaposed with ones of James Foley’s parents crying, and a distraught David Cameron rushing back from his vacation after only one day, and the Pentagon news conference with Chuck Hagel and General Dempsey on the failed mission to rescue the hostages in Syria.

We’re stuck in the rough, going to war all over again in Iraq and maybe striking Syria, too. Every time Chuck says ISIL is “beyond anything we’ve ever seen,” I sprout seven more gray hairs. But my cool golf caps cover them. If only I could just play through the rest of my presidency.

ISIL brutally killing hostages because we won’t pay ransoms, rumbles of coups with our puppets in Iraq and Afghanistan, the racial caldron in Ferguson, the Ebola outbreak, the Putin freakout — there’s enough awful stuff going on to give anyone the yips.

So how can you blame me for wanting to unwind on the course or for five hours at dinner with my former assistant chef? He’s a great organic cook, and he’s got a gluten-free backyard putting green.

But, in a larger sense, we can dedicate, we can consecrate, we can hallow this ground where I can get away from my wife, my mother-in-law, Uncle Joe, Congress and all the other hazards in my life.

The brave foursomes, living and dead, who struggled here in the sand, in the trees, in the water, have consecrated it, far above our poor power to add or subtract a few strokes to improve our score. Bill Clinton was Mr. Mulligan, and he is twice at popular as I am.

The world will little note, nor long remember, what we shot here, or why I haven’t invited a bunch of tiresome congressmen to tee it up. I’m trying to relax, guys. So I’d much rather stay in the bunker with my usual bros.

Why don’t you play 18 with Mitch McConnell? And John Boehner is a lot better than me, so I don’t want to play with him.

It is for us, the duffers, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who played here have thus far so nobly advanced to get young folks to stop spurning a game they find slow and boring.

It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us of getting rid of our slice on the public’s dime — that from this honored green we take increased devotion to that cause for which Bobby Jones, Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy gave their last full measure of devotion — and divots.

We here highly resolve that these golfing greats shall not have competed in vain, especially poor Tiger, and that this nation, under par, shall have a new birth of freedom to play the game that I have become unnaturally obsessed with, and that golf of the people, by the people, for the people shall not perish from the earth.

So help me Golf.

The Contract

Michael Ramirez Cartoon

 Political Cartoons by Gary Varvel

OK Mork, this one isn’t funny. As a matter of fact I’m not happy at all. If the truth be known I am damn angry. We had a contract. You broke it. That’s pretty selfish, so let’s start from the beginning.

You came on the scene during one of my favorite TV shows Happy Days. Who is this crazy guy I keep laughing at, I wondered? Obviously enough others were as interested as I, since you got your own show.

You were a comedian, an actor, and a really weird person. You intrigued me. I saw you on Carson and marveled at how, as bad as my day had gone, you always got me laughing, shaking my head and feeling a whole lot better about myself and tomorrow. However, I still wasn’t sold on you.

When you became a DJ in Good Morning Vietnam you asked me to believe your character. More important you asked me to buy a ticket to watch your performance. I did.

Probably the moment I became the most interested was when you cross-dressed to become an elderly prudish nanny in Mrs. Doubtfire. Once again you held out the contract. Buy a ticket you said and I will give you value.

You had me hook, line and sinker in The Birdcage when your limp wrist went into the air and you said “Fossi, Fossi, Fossi”.

More money from my pocket came your way. The deal was sealed. I had no doubt that our contract was secure.

I would pay money and you would give me Good Will Hunting, Dead Poet Society, Aladdin, Hook, Patch Adams, Night at the Museum.

I followed your exploits in standup, Broadway and late night television. We had a deal that you initiated. You asked me to accept you over so many others and I did.

People with talent in any field from arts to literature who want to perform on the world’s stage and achieve the height that my contractual partner had achieved have a responsibility. God gives that kind of talent to very few. Most think it is theirs and theirs alone. They will demand that their personal life is their own business.

Your personal life, your politics and your religion were your own business-agreed. Unless, of course, you paraded them publically. Your talent, however, did not belong to you. It belonged to me and the rest of the world. That was our contract.

There was much more in you. Your talent only began to take a different direction. I’m 67 years old, you were 63. We both had many years to go to keep each other happy. I wish you could have understood that.

I’m angry but also very sad because it was a great contract. Too bad you didn’t see it that way. (Townhall)

You will be missed.

But I understand it very well, as I have battled depression all my life. It has hurt every aspect of my life.

And I have that “voice”. That “voice” once tried to get me to touch a live electrical  transformer that said “Don’t Touch!”. I didn’t listen.

So I understand. But if the best of us can be sucked in by that “voice” in your head then we all have a problem.

Maybe Obama and Democrats are listening to their “voice” just a little too much! 🙂

The Blessed

I don’t normally have Glenn Beck on the radio, but I was driving to a movie when I heard about this story.

An appreciation for Glenn Beck, Ted Cruz and a well-known Bible verse appears to be the main reasons an aspiring professional golfer was abruptly cut off from his main source of income by his sponsor.

After Tea Baggers like Ted Cruz are evil for wanting less government in our lives and a redress of 17+ Trillion dollars of debt!

I am not what people should call a Christian, either. So I don’t make it a regular habit.

That said…

How Neanderthal Am I!! 🙂

The golfer’s name is Jeff Cochran and until a few weeks ago, it appeared that he may have finally gotten the big break that would help him achieve his goal of having a shot to play on golf’s elite PGA tour. Cochran claims he was contracted in January by Virginia-based businessman Brian McMahon to help promote Nebraska Golf Card (NGC), a budding promotional operation that says it’s “designed to give golfers reduced rates and access to private clubs.”

After playing most of the year for Nebraska Golf Card, Cochran alleged his sponsorship was abruptly terminated. The initial reason given seemed quite surprising — his support for Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz; Cruz’s father, Raphael; and Glenn Beck — but faith, and specifically a Bible verse, also played a big part in the termination of the contract.

The verse in question? Philippians 4:13, which reads, ” I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (shown as a cross and Phil 4:13 on the bag).

Ah, the loving nature of the left wing, known for their coexistence and tolerance for those with a different belief in life.

The compassionate, toleerant and vastly superior Left. 🙂

In late October, Cochran, his agent David Reynolds and NGC’s Brian McMahon both claim they were at a dinner and the conversation turned to Cruz. Cochran says he praised Cruz and his father, Raphael, mentioning that he had seen the elder Cruz on an episode of “The Glenn Beck Program.”

Cochran told TheBlaze that his sponsor was taken aback by this statement and was also troubled by the fact that his business associate was a fan of Beck. Following his pro-Cruz statement, Cochran said McMahon asked him, ”Would you be willing to give up our support to stand with that wackjob (Beck)?” Cochran answered “yes” and said the dinner continued without any additional tension or drama.

But the next morning, Cochran’s agent said, he received an email from NGC announcing that it was pulling all financial and product support from Cochran.

Pro Golfer Jeff Cochran Loses Sponsorship Because He Likes Glenn Beck, Ted Cruz and God

The email, a copy of which was provided to TheBlaze, demanded immediate return of all equipment and that Cochran stop using their logo as well. The initial email from McMahon to Cochran’s agent was quite specific as to the reason for the split (emphasis added):

David, I have never had an issue with you or really Jeff for that matter, but this situation is very disturbing. I have been tolerant of his religious views and even supported his off course speaking. However, I just can’t allow my company to be associated with these radical political views. The idea that Jeff would line up with the likes of Glenn Beck or Ted Cruz or any other individual interested in destroying America, just isn’t something I can swallow.

Cochran and Reynolds said they immediately complied with the demand and returned the equipment, they told TheBlaze. That quick response triggered the email thank-you from McMahon shown below, but that note also contained a few parting shots (emphasis added).

“I looked up the verse Jeff put on the bag and had to laugh,” the email said. ”How can someone so smart be so gullible? The idea of trusting or believing that someone has control over your future is the definition of insanity. I will continue to trust people I’ve actually met and trust to help chart my course.”

Pro Golfer Jeff Cochran Loses Sponsorship Because He Likes Glenn Beck, Ted Cruz and God

McMahon’s email continued (emphasis added): “Tell Jeff if he ever decides to relinquish these childish and uneducated views, we might be willing to renew our relationship.” He ended the email, “In me I trust, Brian.”

After all, he’s obviously Homo Superior Liberalis and you’re an ignorant monkey.

But doesn’t he sound like your typical HSL from Huffington Post or elasewhere on the Progressive side of things?

Yep. Very Typical. Childish, bombastic, narcissistic and so full of their “superiority” that you have to be a moron to be anything other than “enlightened” as they are.

It was shortly after the second email was sent that Cochran and his agent reached out to TheBlaze.

McMahon did not mince his words and almost immediately attacked TheBlaze, writing, “I spent a little time on your website this morning and you should be ashamed of what you’ve created.”

He didn’t hold back, mocking Cochran for listening to Beck: “Jeff is the perfect target for someone like Beck. He believes he has been forgiven for past indiscretions by a mystical power who lives in the clouds, so why wouldn’t he be gullible (sic) enough for the Tea Baggers.”

The email closed with a particularly angry and personal attack on Beck (emphasis added): “He is a lousy drunk who should be led to the nearest border, given a big toss and told to never return. And if he hates the government as much as he says, that should be a welcome event for him too.”

 Jeff Cochran

Mr. Opelka, It has been brought to my attention that your website or radio station is considering doing a story on my relationship with Jeff Cochran. I spent a little time on your website this morning and you should all be ashamed of what you’ve created. I don’t listen to Glenn Beck often, unless I need a good laugh, but the idea he has influence over people is a scary thing. Making people believe the “big nasty government” is only looking to ruin their lives is nothing short of brain washing. You prey on the weak and simple minded, who don’t have the ability to think on their own.

I make no apologies for how I handled my relationship with Jeff. I was willing to overlook the continual religous  jargon, but when I learned he was a “follower” of Beck, I couldn’t swallow anymore. Beck’s political party has done   more damage to this country than anything in the last 20 years. Jeff is the perfect target for someone like Beck. He believes he has been forgiven for past indiscretions by a mystical power who lives in the clouds, so why wouldn’t he be gulible enough for the Tea Baggers.

I am more than willing to concede that Jeff is a powerful public speaker and a very talented player. I wanted him on my team because people are drawn to him, but I just can’t tolerate the weak minded. He has worked hard to overcome some massive road blocks and I just wish he knew it was him and not some spirit.

I can only assume you are one of Beck’s minions, so please feel free to forward this to him. He is a lousy drunk who should be led to the nearest border, given a big toss and told to never return. And if he hates the government as much as he says, that should be a welcome event for him too.

B.L. McMahon

You see, unlike Liberals I understand that “hate speech” not matter how vile is protected speech. But can you imagine having a “rational” discussion about logic or facts with such ranting ball of hatred and derision??

Responding to McMahon’s email, we tried to correct some of his misconceptions (Beck doesn’t have or represent a “political party”), learn more about his organization (Nebraska Golf Card), and further understand the reason, or reasons, he terminated Conchran’s sponsorship. He did reply to our email. According to him, Nebraska Golf Card “is run by me alone.” He addressed a question about the ability to terminate someone for religious and political reasons by stating, “Jeff was not an employee but rather a private contractor.”

McMahon ended his email by saying,  ”the only people who will care what happened to Jeff are the same religous (sic) zealots. Finally, my character might not be what you like, but I think for myself.”

EXTERMINATE!

EXTERMINATE!

You will do as I say or else! You will believe what I believe or else!

You might as well try arguing with a Dalek.

Cochran told TheBlaze in a telephone interview that he met McMahon at a “pro-am” tournament about a year ago. The two struck up a friendship that turned into a business relationship. According to Cochran, beginning in 2013 he was contracted by McMahon to play golf under the NGC logo and would be paid an annual salary large enough to support him and his family. Jeff also stated that in January he made a conscious decision to dedicate his life to his Christian faith.

Telling TheBlaze that he had been “less than genuine” in the past, Cochran talked about making a total commitment to God. Asked whether that meant problems with alcohol or drugs, the answer was an emphatic, “no, but I wasn’t a good guy.” Cochran said the only dark spot in his past was an arrest “three or four years ago over an unpaid hotel bill.” That arrest was in 2007 and the issue ended up with Cochran being found guilty of a misdemeanor for skipping out on a hotel bill. He made restitution, but also worries that “anyone can find my mug shot online.”

When asked if McMahon ever told him to stop talking about his faith or not to put “Phil 4:13″ on his golf bag, Cochran said, “no.” And McMahon’s emails seem to back up his initial tolerance for the golfer’s faith. In his initial email to us, he seemed more upset with Jeff’s appreciation of Beck: “I was willing to overlook the continual religous (sic) jargon, but when I learned he was a ‘follower’ of Beck, I couldn’t swallow anymore.”

Cochran’s explanation of the events that led up to his termination from NGC matched the reasons given to TheBlaze by McMahon in emails. The pro golfer appears to have lost his source of income mainly because he is a fan of Beck and Cruz, but his faith wasn’t overlooked.  McMahon’s initial email to TheBlaze also praised Cochran’s speaking abilities as well as his prowess on the golf course, but took a shot at his beliefs, stating, “He has worked hard to overcome some massive road blocks and I just wish he knew it was him and not some spirit.”

TheBlaze requested a telephone interview with McMahon, as we were hoping to learn more about Nebraska Golf Card and asked if there will be a faith or political litmus test for any future pros contracted to represent the company. Brian McMahon declined our offer, stating: “I have no desire to do an interview or draw anymore attention to this issue. Of course EVERYONE will be welcome to participate when we begin the program.”

He also added, ” I have no problem with anyones (sic) views. The problem comes when they try to push them on other people. Jeff makes it a point to share his religous (sic) views at every moment. When he is representing other peolple (sic), those views should be kept private. I don’t have any interest in going back and forth on this. I am free to associate with anyone I choose and Jeff is no longer on that list.”

Curiously, after sending the above comments to TheBlaze, Cochran says he received a call from McMahon. McMahon appeared to be encouraging Cochran to stop this story from being published on TheBlaze or even in local papers. According to Cochran, McMahon told him over the phone, “You do realize that if this goes public, everyone will know everything about you.”

Cochran did go through with it. And seems to be at peace with that.

“I hope this story can be one of redemption and willingness to stand up and say ‘Yes I am flawed, yes I’ve had struggles, but God is still good,’” he said at the end of our conversation.

McMahon?

“You talk as though you are representing Jeff and investigating legal matters,” he ended his last email to TheBlaze. “Should I contact my attorney?”

Author’s note: Golf Card International is not affiliated with Nebraska Golf Card.

But I wouldn’t encourage membership in that Card lest ye be judged. 🙂

“My goal is not to chase a balanced budget just for the sake of balance,” he said to ABC News. “My goal is how do we grow the economy, put people back to work, and if we do that we are going to be bringing in more revenue.”

Aka, screw balancing a Budget I just want more tax money to Spend!
WHEN IN DEBT SPEND EVEN MORE!

“We’re not gonna balance the budget in 10 years,”

Not after what you’ve done to it! so why bother. Let’s just raise taxes so I can spend even more!

Mr. Obama said. “If you look at what Paul Ryan does to balance the budget, it means that you have to voucher-ize Medicare, you have to slash deeply into programs like Medicaid.”

Grandma off a cliff. Grandma eating dog food. Killing Old People. Heard it all before…

Mr. Obama also said Mr. Ryan’s budget called for higher taxes on the middle class.

You’ve already done that, Mr. President.

Mr. Ryan has claimed his budget plan is balanced — and that it accomplished fiscal solvency without raising taxes.

And, of course, we can’t have that without more Class Warfare, Taxes, and More Spending!!!  Same old…Same old…

The “Education” president

John Harrison was halfway to a bachelor’s degree but financially strapped when Marine recruiters began calling him in 2007.

His wife, Amanda Harrison, recalls their pitches: “Hey, there’s all these different ways to finish your degree and you don’t have to go into a lot of debt to do it.”

That was perhaps true until last week, when the Marines told Sgt. Harrison, 26, that his college tuition would no longer be paid.

“I was furious,” Amanda said. “So many of us cannot afford to pay out-of-pocket for our service members to go to school.”

The Army, Air Force and Coast Guard followed suit by also suspending tuition assistance to tens of thousands of active-duty troops. A Navy spokesman told Yahoo News on Wednesday that possible changes to its tuition program would be announced by the end of the week.

The plans reimburse service members $250 per semester hour, up to $4,500 a year, for off-duty college tuition.

The military immediately blamed $85 billion in sequestration spending cuts that went into effect March 1.

Well, they are psychopaths (PTSD) with guns after all… Darn that evil sequestion.
Bit at least it hasn’t deterred The President Golf Game!
“The Secret Service told us that the tours cost $74,000 a week. How much is it going to cost for the President to travel later this week to Illinois? <to play golf>” Karl (ABC News) asked.
“How much does it cost for him to go and play golf?” Karl followed up.
No answer.
Fascinating.
Meanwhile, the People (and school children) can’t tour the The White House.
It’s good to Be The King…

The Obama administration said Thursday it had rearrested and brought back four of the most dangerous immigrants it released from detention last month in the run-up to the budget sequestration.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director John Morton testified to Congress that his agency released 10 “level one” offenders, and has gone out and apprehended four of them. He said the other six are nonviolent.

Mr. Morton also acknowledged that overall, 2,228 immigrants were released — far more than the several hundred the agency had initially acknowledged. Of those, 629 had criminal records, though Mr. Morton said they were low-level offenders. (WT)

Gee, that makes me feel so much better… 🙂

“Today’s ICE testimony directly contradicts repeated assurances and explanations peddled by the Obama administration in the days after the mass release of illegal aliens became public knowledge,” said Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer. “The American people were initially told there were hundreds, not thousands, of individuals released. We were assured they were low-level detainees of little public risk. As we now know, neither of these claims was accurate.”

Another petulant scare tactic gone wrong.

But Mr. Morton said he made the choice on his own without any input from the White House or Ms. Napolitano. Still, he was unable to give many of the exact figures members have demanded to know.

Sen. John Cornyn, Texas Republican and one of those who wrote demanding answers, said Mr. Morton didn’t clear up very much.

“Why was the secretary of Homeland Security not aware of the release of convicted criminals by her own agency? Why did she tell us it was only hundreds who were released when we now learn it was thousands?” he said. “This is evidence of serious mismanagement at DHS under Secretary Napolitano.”

Shades of Fast & Furious…Fascinating…Deniability Cover?

The agency said the decision to release immigrants from custody was partly because of sequestration, but also because it had been detaining more people in the first half of the fiscal year, and had to slow down its pace to fit within its budget.

ICE is funded to detain an average of 34,000 immigrants at any one time but had been detaining up to 36,000 in the early months of the fiscal year, which Mr. Morton said meant they were always going to have to cut the number of people they were holding. (WT)

Gee, I thought Illegal Immigration was down… 🙂
Why would detention be up? Unless those “non-violent”  “low-level” unmonitored Illegals were committing more crimes… 🙂

So if you don’t let us Tax you even more and Spend Even more Bad things will happen!

NEXT: ObamaCare

Some Americans could see their insurance bills double next year as the health care overhaul law expands coverage to millions of people. The nation’s big health insurers say they expect premiums — or the cost for insurance coverage — to rise from 20 to 100 percent for millions of people due to changes that will occur when key provisions of the Affordable Care Act roll out in January 2014. Mark Bertolini, CEO of Aetna Inc., one of the nation’s largest insurers, calls the price hikes “premium rate shock.” “We’ve done all the math, we’ve shared it with all the regulators, we’ve shared it with all the people in Washington that need to see it, and I think it’s a big concern,” Bertolini said during the company’s annual meeting with investors in December. To be sure, there will be no across-the-board rate hikes for everyone, and there’s no reliable national data on how many people could see increases.

But the biggest price hikes are expected to hit a group that represents a relatively small slice of the insured population. That includes some of the roughly 14 million people who buy their own insurance as opposed to being covered under employer-sponsored plans, and to a lesser extent, some employees of smaller companies. The price increases are a downside of President Barack Obama’s health care law, which is expected to expand coverage to nearly 30 million uninsured people. The massive law calls for a number of changes that could cause premiums for people who don’t have coverage through a big employer to rise next year — at a time when health care costs already are expected to grow by 5 percent or more.
Throughout the healthcare debate (and his first campaign), President Obama promised that premiums would fall by an average of $2,500 annually per family.  He also pledged that overall healthcare costs would decline, not increase. Wrong, and wrong.  There’s a reason why Republicans are still fighting like hell to repeal and defund this monstrosity.   The Associated Press runs through a few of the reasons behind the looming cost spikes:

— Changes to how insurers set premiums according to age and gender could cause some premiums to rise as much as 50 percent, according to America’s Health Insurance Plans, or AHIP, an industry trade group that’s funded by insurers.

— A new tax on premiums could raise prices as much as 2.3 percent in 2014 and more in subsequent years, according to a study commissioned by AHIP. Policyholders with plans that end in 2014 probably have already seen an impact from this.

— Requirements that insurance plans in many cases cover more health care or pay a greater share of a patient’s bill than they do now also could add to premiums, depending on the extent of a person’s current coverage, according AHIP.
While we’re at it, let’s address two more shattered promises of Obamacare.  (1) Remember “if you like your plan, you can keep it?”  The Obama administration has announced it’s taking an even bigger meat cleaver to the popular Medicare Advantage program than first anticipated. Democrats attack the Republican budget for “cutting Medicare on the backs of seniors” because the proposal includes a bipartisan reform plan for future seniors.  Democrats have already sliced $716 billion from Medicare to pay for Obamacare, and they’re about to slash the popular Medicare Advantage for millions of current seniors.  (2) In spite of the president’s “not a single dime” deficit pledge, the nonpartisan GAO estimates that Obamacare will add $6.2 trillion to our long term deficits.

NEXT…
On a different note: I’m genuinely surprised it took this long.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck: ‘The View’ co-host fired for being too ‘right-wing,’ report says

Mrs. Hasselbeck, who continually battles the four other left-leaning women on the show, reportedly is too “right-wing” for the audience.

“The viewers they polled all said she was too extreme and right-wing,” a show insider told UsMagazine.com Friday. “People did not watch the show because of Elisabeth. So they told her yesterday her contract would not be renewed.”

It was not reported who will be taking her place.

Then Barbara Walters come out and denies it.

Miss Walters denied the report on Monday, telling viewers “we have no plans for Elisabeth to leave the show.” (WT)

“Having said that to all of you, [executive producer Bill Geddie] and I have always said that when one of you make the choice to leave, that’s your choice, and we will support your decision,”

Which is Showbiz for “Don’t let the Door hit you in the ass while we throw you out nicely and kill you will faint praise.” You make the decision to leap off the cliff so we don’t have to push you.

It looks better that way, darling, FOR YOU.

So it’s now just the “The View” from the Extreme Left. Gee, what took them so long. 🙂
So don’t “obstruct” us or Else it will get much worse for you! We’ll see to it!

Slobber Uber Alles

The Social Security Administration has released new data revealing that 8,786,049 American workers are collecting federal disability insurance payments in September. That sets yet another record for the number of Americans on disability.

Over the past 45 years, the number of American workers taking federal disability payments has increased four-fold relative to the number actually working.

It means there were only 16.2 people working for each person collecting disability. (KFYI)

But what is the Liberal media in a frenzied, zombie like slobber craze over: the Latest “Oh no! did you hear what he said” Romney/Ryan “gaffe” of the minute that is supposed horrify you and make you vote for Obama.
It’s Depressing.
Real actual news is inconsequential, even ridiculous to them. The slobbering will drown this nation.
“During times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act”. George Orwell
Was I supposed to be horrified that he said it?
Or was I supposed to be horrified that it’s more likely true than not?
We know which the Liberal Media and the Left thinks. That’s very obvious.
Gallup: About four in 10 Americans (39%) say the government should do more to solve the nation’s problems.

Trend: Some people think the government is trying to do too many things that should be left to individuals and businesses. Others think that government should do more to solve our country's problems. Which comes closer to your own view? By party ID

Seeing the correlation? 🙂

This had me ROTFL:

Since Obama has taken office ….
[through Q2 2012 for comparative purposes]

–> For every $1 added to the economy, we’ve added more than $3 in debt

–> added $5.23 trillion in debt vs. $1.68 trillion to the economy
–> 50% increase in debt vs. 12% increase in economic output

Total Public Debt:

$10,626T [Jan 20, 2009]
$15,856T [Jun 30, 2012]

–> $5.23 trillion increase in debt

GDP

$13,923T [Q1 2009]
$15,606T [Q2 2012]

–> $1.68 trillion increase in GDP

But you’re supposed to be horrified by Romney’s comments about YOU, you greedy pig. Not the Greedy Pigs in Washington. Or the professionally and morally bankrupt Liberal Media (Ministry of Truth).
It’s more manipulative than the “Islam is burning because of an internet movie.” line.

Leadership: The Mideast is in turmoil, the economy is faltering and the president opts to spend precious time with David Letterman, Beyonce and Jay-Z. Are we the only ones to wonder if Obama’s suited to be president?

Last week, Michelle Bachmann had it partly right when she said that “President Obama needs to get his priorities straight.”

There’s no question that Obama should, as Bachmann recommended, cancel his appearance on the Letterman show and agree to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

But the idea that Obama’s problem is a mixed-up priority list is giving the president more credit than he deserves. Time and again, Obama has proved that he is simply incapable of taking the job of president seriously. And the repercussions of this grow by the day.

Let’s review last week’s evidence. Netanyahu asked for a meeting with Obama to talk about the rapid approach of a nuclear-armed Iran. Obama said no. Even the liberal press admitted this was a “highly unusual rebuff to a close ally.”

The White House excuse for skipping Netanyahu? “The president’s schedule will not permit that.” But that same day, Obama announced that he will be on the David Letterman show — his second guest appearance as president — to talk about what?

Ah, but who wants to deal with those dreary Middle East problems when you can be scoring likability points with undecided late-night-watching voters.

This is par for the course for our current president. With global unrest on the rise, we learn that Obama has skipped more than half of his intelligence briefings.

With unemployment stuck at about 8% for more than 40 months, we learn that Obama has spent more time golfing than in economic meetings of any kind, according to the Government Accountability Institute.

With the nation’s debt crisis spiraling out of control, Obama’s only solution was to offer a set of talking points he called a “balanced approach,” while labeling a detailed, serious GOP plan un-American.

Then, earlier this year, Obama produced a budget that would add more than $6 trillion to the nation’s debt pile over the next decade.

With gas prices soaring, Obama decided to cancel the Keystone oil pipeline to appease his environmentalist base, and then gave a speech to some college kids wherein he promised that the nation’s energy problems could be solved by tapping into our abundant supply of pond scum.

We could go on. And on. And on.

If all Obama wants to do in life is golf, take fancy vacations, crack jokes on late-night TV and offer meaningless policy proposals, he should go run a nonprofit and leave running the country to someone who’ll take the job seriously. (IBD)

But don’t pay attention to this, focus on what Liberal Media’s “Shock” of the Minute is and be appalled by it.

Be a zombie. Be Mindless. Be Happy. 🙂
