Remember when It said Libby, Libby, Libby on the Label, Label Label?

Do you remember Lewis “Scooter” Libby?

I do. I do. 🙂

In 2003, the Department of Justice appointed a special counsel to investigate allegations that Libby, Vice President Dick Cheney’s chief of staff, unlawfully disclosed the covert status of CIA operative Valerie Plame.

It was all BS, the Democrats were trying there damndest to get Bush but they couldn’t.

Yet Plame may not have been a covert undercover agent, based on the formal government definition of that role.

And the fact that you can’t be an international undercover operative while living comfortably all the time in Virginia!

And even if she were, it was widely known at the time that Secretary of State Colin Powell’s subordinate, Richard Armitage, had most likely disclosed her status earlier.

And in the end, after all the partisan “gotcha” BS had cleared it was announced to no fanfare at all that he had in fact done it, but since he was not on the hit list and meant nothing to the Democrats he was virtually ignored.

In other words, Libby was in an Orwellian position of being accused of a crime that may not have existed. But if it had, it was more likely committed by someone else.

But since it was partisan “gotcha” the Democrats didn’t care. They just wanted BLOOD in the water. They were the sharks hungry for a partisan meal if there was no meat they’d invent it — much like Vegan Chicken Legs!

Publicity-seeking special counsel Patrick Fitzgerald convinced a Washington, D.C., jury to find Libby guilty of obstruction of justice, perjury and making false statements to federal investigators — not the supposed crimes for which he was originally targeted by the media.

And a laughably silly “gotcha” especially compared to Hillary, Obama, Holder and Co.

But that’s the point, They are Democrats. They can do that.  You can’t. 🙂

Apparently, the very suspicion of improper behavior by high public servants once warranted vigorous legal inquiry — by supposedly independent and autonomous prosecutors.

Only if you were a Republican and the Democrat Hit Squad was out to get you (and they missed and got a minor functionary who then became the anti-christ because that’s what they were hungry for in the end run).

In the eight-plus since the Libby trial, the Obama administration has blown up the law as we have known it for centuries.

But since they are Democrats and so much smarter and so much more Holy than you grubby little shits they can do whatever they want in the name of  the “betterment” of all mankind. 🙂

Barack Obama once warned Latino activists that he had no legal authority to suspend enforcement of federal immigration law, stop deportations and offer de facto amnesties.

Until politics said he did and you’re a “racist” if you opposed him.

But that caution was only a campaigning talking point. After his re-election in 2012 and the midterm elections in 2014, Obama made a mockery of immigration law.

The Agenda is The Agenda!

Hundreds of liberal sanctuary cities have announced that federal immigration law does not apply to them. That scary, neo-Confederate idea of legal nullification was sanctioned by the Obama administration — in a way it never would have been if a city had suspended the Endangered Species Act, emissions standards or gun-control legislation.

As a result, once-detained and later-released immigrants with criminal records have murdered innocent American citizens.

And the perp (or his gun) was the victim or to blame, but not the illegal immigrant.

Consider the proposed nuclear deal with Iran. By past custom and practice, the nonproliferation agreement would be treated as what it is — a treaty.

But ratifying treaties constitutionally requires 67 yes votes from the Senate. Obama could never obtain that margin. So he managed to downgrade the treaty into a mere legal agreement. Then he claimed that the Senate required 67 no votes to override his veto.

And the Republicans went along with this gag.

Obama also was worried about the political impact of his new Obamacare legislation on the 2014 midterm elections. So he simply suspended by executive fiat the employer mandate of the Affordable Care Act. Had another president done that to the laws of Obamacare, the left would have demanded impeachment.

Nixon got impeached for a hell of a lot less!

In Ferguson, Missouri, law enforcement eased off and allowed a city to burn. But the cause of the rioting — the supposed improper police killing of criminal suspect Michael Brown — was based on the lie that Brown was shot in the back while fleeing. No matter. The ensuing public outrage seemingly exempted arsonists and looters from arrest.

The Ministry of Truth said he said, so he must have said it, right?

Just as scary is the application of the law on the basis of the perceived politics of a suspect.

IRS bureaucrat Lois Lerner was exposed as a rank partisan whose office gave particular scrutiny to would-be tax-exempt groups deemed opponents of Obama’s re-election efforts. She invoked the Fifth Amendment and refused to testify before a congressional committee about her actions at the IRS. Lerner has never been indicted.

Because the person who’d have to do it, The Attorney General, then Eric Holder, was and still is a partisan for the President and The Party, not the Law.

Almost everything former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has stated about her improper use of a private email account and server has been proven false. A State Department staffer who worked on Clinton’s private server plans to invoke the Fifth Amendment to avoid testifying before a congressional committee about his role in privatizing Clinton’s email.

But she said she was “sorry” so why are you so insensitive as to not accept it? 🙂

It’s not like she erased 18 minutes of White House tapes or anything!

But like Lerner, Clinton has escaped an indictment or jailing.

Because the Jailer is paid political partisan of the King.

Not so Kim Davis. She is a conservative Christian court clerk in Kentucky who apparently thought, given the lawless times, that she could ignore without consequence a Supreme Court decision making gay marriage legal.

Davis was jailed for not enforcing the law. That is a justifiable punishment — if it were applied equally to the progressive mayors of sanctuary cities and all officials who likewise ignore federal law.

But Progressive don’t believe in equality, of enforcement, after all. The laws are for thee, not for them.

In the same manner, rank amateur video maker Nakoula Basseley Nakoula was jailed for violating his probation. Why?

Nakoula made a video insensitive to Muslims and thus was falsely blamed for the riotous 2012 attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi. The most likely culprit of the preplanned Benghazi attack was not scapegoat Nakoula, but the inconvenient pre-election truth that al-Qaida was quite alive in Libya and U.S. security quite lax.

But that made the King and his minions look weak, so they had to lie their way out of that.

So it was perfectly logical that some Egyptians just happened to be strolling by with their Rocket Launchers, Snipers and Molotov Cocktail and they all had a delayed reaction, like not getting a joke right away, from seeing a You Tube video 4 months ago and went crazy with rage.

After all, “What Difference Does it  Make?” 🙂

America is becoming analogous to the mess in lawless contemporary Venezuela. When the law is suspended or unevenly applied for politically protected individuals and groups, then there is no law.

Welcome to Orwell Land.

So we are now seeing the logical descent into the abyss of chaos. (Victor Davis Hanson)

Yes, and to the Progressives it’s a glorious sight.

The Darnedest Place

You find things of value in the darnedest places. I was doing research for my Star Trek Club’s 40th Anniversary when I ran across a clip from an episode I hadn’t seen in many years, “The Savage Curtain” (1969).

It would give the Politically Correct apoplectic shock if they could get their Political Correct brains around Star Trek, that is. They couldn’t handle “The Dukes of Hazzard” after all. 🙂

LINCOLN: What a charming negress. Oh, forgive me, my dear. I know in my time some used that term as a description of property.
UHURA: But why should I object to that term, sir? You see, in our century we’ve learned not to fear words.
KIRK: May I present our communications officer, Lieutenant Uhura.
LINCOLN: The foolishness of my century had me apologising where no offense was given.
KIRK: We’ve each learned to be delighted with what we are. The Vulcans learned that centuries before we did.
SPOCK: It is basic to the Vulcan philosophy, sir. The combination of a number of things to make existence worthwhile.

Imagine the politically correct not being “offended” by mere words!!!  The mind boggleth.

The left without fear mongering. Not afraid of words.

Now that is a utopian vision for you.

Written for a show about a vision of hope.

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

I have a dream today.”- Dr. Martin Luther King (1963)

Some on the left consider this “mind rape” and race baiting by the white patriarchy.

How is possible that the 1960’s could be MORE tolerant in many ways than the “enlightened” 21st Century?

The politics of power.

There is no actual power in equality or celebrating actual diversity. Only in division. And there is more division now than there has been in 50 years or more.

The Progressive Left celebrated it’s victory at Ferguson, MO one year ago. Where they took an aggressive black man who attacked a white cop and made not only Cops the bad guys but White People in general.

Many in the crowd in Ferguson wore T-shirts emblazoned with Brown’s portrait and the words “Choose Change.” Others carried signs, including one that read: “STOP killing black children.”

What Change? White people stop killing black people, of course.

NAACP president Cornell William(I always love these guys because their organization’s own name is Politically Incorrect, oh the irony)

He urged passage of laws against racial profiling by police and support for reforms requiring body cameras, independent prosecutors and retraining of US police departments.

Cops are politically incorrect to shoot black people, especially White cops and they must be retrained to be think of Political Correctness first and their safety and the safety of the public, second. If that gets them killed, oh well, their only cops… Cops Lives Don’t Matter. 🙂

“No accountability, no justice. Police are still killing us — it’s a crisis that’s going on,”-Erica Snipes, the daughter of Eric Garner.

#Blacklivesmatter becoming its rallying cry. (Yahoo)

Everyone else, screw off you racists!

They stormed the stage of Socialist Bernie Sanders, he’s more “progressive” than they are. (they even stormed the ultra-ultra-ultra Liberal Netroots Convention)

“I was going to tell Bernie how racist this city is — with all of its progressives — but you’ve already done that for me. Thank you.”

“If you care about Black Lives Matter, as you say you do, you will hold Bernie Sanders specifically accountable for his actions,” Johnson continued.

He may be the biggest socialist in Congress and the biggest one running for President, but he’s evil. He’s white!

But, don’t worry, it’s only “Star Trek”, no one really cares about that. 🙂

Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. Or in the case of the Progressive those who refuse to learn continue to strive for the perfect division so that there power is perfected and if you don’t succeed keep doing it until you do.

Say one thing, do the opposite.

The end justifies the means.

And that is the Progressive Left in a nutshell.

You Knew it

ferguson americaLast week local black activists held a sit-in protest at the office of MORE (Missourians Organizing for Reform and Empowerment) in St. Louis to press their claim that groups led by whites have collected tens of thousands of dollars in donations off of the Black Lives Matter movement without paying the Black participants their fair share.

MORE is the successor group to the now-bankrupt St. Louis branch of ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now).

So these ACORNs have not fallen far from the Liberal Agenda Tree.
cut the check

During the sit-in, one of the Black activists threatened the white representative for MORE, saying, “We gon’, we gonna just **** you up.” (Expletive deleted.)
Apparently much of the money raised by MORE didn’t reach the local protesters.

In response to this protest MORE released a list of names and amounts paid out to protesters and protest groups who agitated and harassed police night-after-night in Ferguson last fall and winter climaxing in the torching and looting of dozens of local Ferguson businesses.

The list of over 80 groups and individuals was posted on Twitter by an irate protester.

MORE (Missourians Organizing for Reform and Empowerment) and OBS (Organization for Black Struggle) advertised for paid protesters in Ferguson.

more payoutLast weekend it was revealed that Ferguson protest leaders were being paid $5,000 a month to disrupt communities and inflame racial hate.

Shaun King was also in Cleveland:

King, who writes for Daily Kos, lied claiming the 12 year old boy, Tamir Rice, who had been shot by police after brandishing a toy gun, claimed that the police charged Rice with a crime after they killed him. Obviously, the point was to inflame, because it had nothing to do with the truth.

Deray was there a special friend, he was there with Dorian Johnson, whose lying in Ferguson spread the ‘Hands up, don’t shoot” myth.

Akiba Solomon of Colorlines stated, “More than 500 of us have traveled from Boston, Chicago, Columbus, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, Nashville, Portland, Tucson, Washington, D.C., Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and other cities to support the people of Ferguson and help turn a local moment into a national movement,” the Times noted.

“There’s absolutely no doubt that part of the reason that Ferguson flared up was because protesters were being paid to be there. That makes you wonder how many are being paid in Baltimore? How many more will be paid in the future?” The Right Scoop asked.

Protesters directed much of their anger against MORE director Jeff Ordower, former Missouri head of ACORN and ACORN’s Midwest operations, FrontPage Mag reports.

“The unpaid rent-a-mob operatives complain that MORE stiffed them the same way ACORN did to hired protesters throughout its 40 years of radical left-wing rabble-rousing,” FrontPage Mag reports.
The Kansas City Star estimates that the Ferguson riots, characterized as a spontaneous eruption of anger over the shooting of unarmed black criminal Michael Brown by Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson, cost the county $4.2 million.

Live Free Speech or Die

The following haqs NOT been approved by the Social Justice Ministry of Truth and as such you should understand that reading it is Thoughtcrime punishable by derision and shame-mongering by the “tolerant” and “diversity” loving Leftists of America.

We’d rather die than “live” on our knees, begging permission to exercise the right God gave us to say whatever we damn well please, whenever we damn well please, and in the manner we damn well please. And those who want to shut us up better be equally committed if they want to succeed.

After Garland, they went too far. They showed their hand and their goal, a world where they decide who gets to say what. Imagine the same hysterical social justice drama queens who shriek about microaggressions getting to decide what you can and can’t say. Just understand, you fascist bastards, that if you want to be Nazis, you’ll need to do what the Nazis did and find some armed thugs – yeah, I’m using the word “thugs” whether you like it or not – to come stop us. Tell them to wear Kevlar.

Garland and the sorry aftermath of terrorist apologetics that followed were a warning to every freedom-loving American, as well as an illustration of what one freedom-loving American with training and a Glock can do against the forces of totalitarianism. These jihadi savages tried to silence and intimidate all free Americans. They failed.

Progressives mutter without conviction about how they can’t support violence, but … but … but, in fact, they do support violence. It’s not just their chilling with bomb-planting guys around the neighborhood and free passes for the looters in Ferguson and Baltimore. They support whatever it takes to silence us.

When the Democrats in Congress vote to repeal the First Amendment, or when they babble about outlawing what they label “hate speech,” what these leftist elitists seek to do is to empower a government they control to send armed men to stop us from saying what they have determined we may not say. They can’t stand up to the truth we speak; they have to suppress it or scamper away like roaches caught in the light.

No. You see, we aren’t giving up our right of free speech or, for that matter, any other rights you leftist schmucks deem inconvenient.

Those miserable losers in Garland weren’t just a couple of carcasses. Shot down in the street by a free American who was not intimidated, who was not afraid, who absolutely, positively was not going to back down even when outnumbered and outgunned, their dead bodies are a symbol. They are a symbol of our resolve, proof that we will not surrender, we will not submit, and we will not allow our God-given rights to be stolen from us by anyone, not Seventh Century savages, not Gucci-wearing liberal narcissists, and not twisted social justice warriorettes taking out on the rest of humanity their lingering disappointment that no boy wanted to be seen with them at the prom.

To the gutless and cowardly who would gladly submit to dhimmitude, whether imposed by the jihadi creeps or the progressive cadres, we can say only that we pity you. We pity the fact that every day you have to wake up and look in the mirror and see the face of a man, or woman, or whichever of the 567 other gender identities the freakshow left has manufactured, who is more concerned with personal safety than with personal dignity. Pathetic.

Maybe preserving your life is worth living as a slave, but we reject your craven choice. God did not put us on this Earth to be the minions of some oligarchy of malignant punks, obedient and afraid. You want to clasp a figurative collar around our necks? You better hire a whole bunch of dudes who are a whole a lot better at close quarter combat than those clowns in Garland. And you sure won’t find any tactically proficient future stormtroopers in the local university’s Womyns’ Studies Department or sipping cosmos at some Manhattan cocktail party.

You want to turn America into the fascist state of your dreams? Remember Lexington and Concord? No, you don’t, because you were too busy taking courses in Socialist Tap Dance to squeeze in a history course. So let me break it down for you: You’ll need to fight. And you putzes don’t have the skill or the guts to do it.

The jihadis can’t fight, and you leftists won’t. You progressives thought you could just slowly nibble away at our rights, gnawing off a bit here and a bit there, slowly, so we wouldn’t notice. You thought you could shame, bully, and browbeat us into the figurative cattle cars for carriage off to the giant reeducation camp you wanted to make of our culture. Who needed men in black with guns? We were supposed to willingly, even eagerly, submit. But that’s not going to happen.

Oh, you came so close. For so long, we wrongly imagined that your lies about racism, sexism, Islamophobia, and all the rest were just part of some big misunderstanding. Sure, we knew you were wrong, that we were being falsely accused, but we thought you were at least sincere, if misguided. Except now the mask is off.

Racism? You don’t care. Ask Clarence Thomas about your love of minorities who don’t toe your line.

Sexism? You don’t care. Ask any of Bill Clinton’s victims, who you eagerly sacrificed to save your progressive knight.

Homophobia? Poverty? Corporate abuses? Civil rights? You care nothing about any of them. You leftists just want control. You trash gays who get between you and power, and ignore the gays being murdered in the Middle East because that oppression isn’t useful to you. You keep the poor poor and addicted to your paltry handouts so you can maintain a docile voting bloc. Corporate abuses are terrible right up until the big companies start paying off your candidates. And civil rights? Gimme a break. The First Amendment stopped being useful back in January 2009, so now you’re eager to drown it like Mary Jo Kopechne.

We’re done. You fascists, whether Islamo- or liberal, want to shut us up? Then you better be ready to rumble, because submission isn’t one of the options. We will speak free or die. (Kurt Schlichter)

Sowell Responsibility

Among the many painful ironies in the current racial turmoil is that communities scattered across the country were disrupted by riots and looting because of the demonstrable lie that Michael Brown was shot in the back by a white policeman in Missouri — but there was not nearly as much turmoil created by the demonstrable fact that a fleeing black man was shot dead by a white policeman in South Carolina.

Totally ignored was the fact that a black policeman in Alabama fatally shot an unarmed white teenager, and was cleared of any charges, at about the same time that a white policeman was cleared of charges in the fatal shooting of Michael Brown.

In a world where the truth means so little, and headstrong preconceptions seem to be all that matter, what hope is there for rational words or rational behavior, much less mutual understanding across racial lines?

When the recorded fatal shooting of a fleeing man in South Carolina brought instant condemnation by whites and blacks alike, and by the most conservative as well as the most liberal commentators, that moment of mutual understanding was very fleeting, as if mutual understanding were something to be avoided, as a threat to a vision of “us against them” that was more popular.

That vision is nowhere more clearly expressed than in attempts to automatically depict whatever social problems exist in ghetto communities as being caused by the sins or negligence of whites, whether racism in general or a “legacy of slavery” in particular. Like most emotionally powerful visions, it is seldom, if ever, subjected to the test of evidence.

The “legacy of slavery” argument is not just an excuse for inexcusable behavior in the ghettos. In a larger sense, it is an evasion of responsibility for the disastrous consequences of the prevailing social vision of our times, and the political policies based on that vision, over the past half century.

Anyone who is serious about evidence need only compare black communities as they evolved in the first 100 years after slavery with black communities as they evolved in the first 50 years after the explosive growth of the welfare state, beginning in the 1960s.

You would be hard-pressed to find as many ghetto riots prior to the 1960s as we have seen just in the past year, much less in the 50 years since a wave of such riots swept across the country in 1965.

We are told that such riots are a result of black poverty and white racism. But in fact — for those who still have some respect for facts — black poverty was far worse, and white racism was far worse, prior to 1960. But violent crime within black ghettos was far less.

Murder rates among black males were going down — repeat, DOWN — during the much lamented 1950s, while it went up after the much celebrated 1960s, reaching levels more than double what they had been before. Most black children were raised in two-parent families prior to the 1960s. But today the great majority of black children are raised in one-parent families.

Such trends are not unique to blacks, nor even to the United States. The welfare state has led to remarkably similar trends among the white underclass in England over the same period. Just read “Life at the Bottom,” by Theodore Dalrymple, a British physician who worked in a hospital in a white slum neighborhood.

You cannot take any people, of any color, and exempt them from the requirements of civilization — including work, behavioral standards, personal responsibility and all the other basic things that the clever intelligentsia disdain — without ruinous consequences to them and to society at large.

Non-judgmental subsidies of counterproductive lifestyles are treating people as if they were livestock, to be fed and tended by others in a welfare state — and yet expecting them to develop as human beings have developed when facing the challenges of life themselves.

One key fact that keeps getting ignored is that the poverty rate among black married couples has been in single digits every year since 1994. Behavior matters and facts matter, more than the prevailing social visions or political empires built on those visions. (Thomas Sowell)

But remember, if you don’t agree with the Left, you’re heartless & racist , you hate women, children and poor people. 🙂

And the Childish Shall Lead

Humanity has wondered throughout its history “what is this world coming to.” And every generation believes that those coming behind it are doomed because of their long hair, loud music and curious conduct.

So far, every end-of-the-world prediction has been wrong. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t some things we need to be concerned about.

Here are five recent developments that make us wonder if America is not only in decline but is reeling sharply toward disorder, where up is down, down is up, and character, honor and decency have become anachronisms:

* Riots are becoming more commonplace and, so far, the worst ones have been based on nothing, touched off by uninformed reaction rather than the facts. We don’t yet know why Freddie Gray died. But even if it were police negligence — or, worse, police malfeasance — rioting is not a civilized response. Yet the riots are being excused.

* Worse, the riots are apparently organized events rather than spontaneous acts. An analysis of social media shows that there are links between the Ferguson, Mo., riots of last year and the Baltimore riots. How long can a peaceful society exist under these circumstances, when professional rioters incite violence and promote unrest at whim?

* Meanwhile, University of the District of Columbia Law School Dean Shelley Broderick has told students they can delay taking one final exam if they help protesters with their legal troubles. It’s a hallmark of our legal system that everyone charged with a crime is entitled to legal representation. But this woman is singling out (suspected) violent protesters as virtuous members of the community deserving of special protections. Would she offer the same deal to help right-of-center groups that need representation because they’ve been targeted by the IRS?

* California Gov. Jerry Brown is threatening fines of $10,000 a day — $10,000! — for those he thinks use too much water as the state withers from drought. Meanwhile, the state of California has dumped millions of foot-acres of fresh water into the Pacific Ocean for irrational environmental reasons while people, livestock, crops and lawns parch.

* Our universities are no longer institutions where free thought and open discourse are welcome and encouraged. Those whose ideas differ from the thinking that is required by campus bullies — a league of students, professors and administrators — are shunned. Dissenting voices are shut down and chased off of campus. A focus on trigger warnings, microaggressions and safe spaces has replaced attention to academics.

Also since the government essentially owns the Student Loan market the Universities can just raise tuition because they want to build a new $2 Million statue and then complain that they are underfunded. The Liberals then up the amount for student loans so more people can get in deeper debt and the University can build their statue AND get more money and since they have no incentive to not continue doing more and more of this the tuition goes higher and higher and more people get loans they can’t pay back and it spirals upward until at some point it will crash and their will be a bailout and the cycle can continue.

None of this means students have become delicate daisies who wilt in the face of anything they find even mildly offensive. They have actually become more aggressive toward those with differing views, and this is the way they are telling them to shut up.

No, the country isn’t going to collapse due to these five issues. But they are examples of troubling behavior, of an unhealthy trend. It seems fewer and fewer adults are in charge while childish and intemperate acts, and twisted thinking are becoming dominant in our culture.

And I would add what I call “unenlightened narcissism”. It where you think the universe not only revolves around you and what you want, but that it MUST do so.

That everything you want you are “entitled” to because you want it or some government bureaucrat/politician told you you were “entitled” to it for their own narcissistic reasons.

But it sounded good. “Free” always sounds great until the real price is paid. But since the world revolves around you and only you you don’t give a damn.

And if all else fails, just call them “racists” or “bigots”. 🙂

The Future

Youth: As riots roil Ferguson and Baltimore, a new poll shows it isn’t just inner-city youth who are disaffected. It seems young adults across America are profoundly dissatisfied with the big institutions of their country.

A new Harvard University Institute of Politics poll suggests that 18-29-year-olds have a deep distrust of major American institutions. Such profound distrust doesn’t bode well for our future.

Only the U.S. military and scientists score over 50% when young Americans are asked if they trust them.

To be sure, many of those institutions (see chart) might deserve distrust. The biased mainstream media has plainly done a poor job. So has Congress. And so have local, state and federal government agencies.

Still, it’s disquieting to see that America’s young adults have so little faith in the institutions of the richest, freest nation ever. And the cynicism starts early.

A big part of the blame belongs to 40 years of liberal control of our education system, which, coupled with the decline of intact families, has left an entire generation deeply distrustful of America and the institutions that have, over the years, worked quite well.

From the start, kids are taught a litany: America is racist, greedy and hypocritical. Such instruction alienates them from their society and culture.

Yet the doubt and alienation come despite the fact that many young Americans know little about our nation’s history or how its government works.

Who controls the past controls the future. Who controls the present controls the past.

–George Orwell

Newspeak was designed not to extend but to diminish the range of thought, and this purpose was indirectly assisted by cutting the choice of words down to a minimum.

Thus removing any concept or thought pattern not desired by the ruling elite.

How could you have a slogan like “freedom is slavery” when the concept of freedom has been abolished?

“Thoughtcrime does not entail death: thoughtcrime IS death.”

A new survey of eighth graders by the National Assessment of Educational Progress underscores this. It found less than a quarter of those tested are proficient in civics, geography and U.S. history.

Locally, it was reported here that 650 3rd Graders who couldn’t read were going to passed onto the 4th Grade. First of all, if they are roughly 8 years old and they can’t read to begin with is a problem that no one wants to address.

In just a few years they too will be cynical young adults, just as those in the Harvard poll.

“If the next generation doesn’t understand the causes and the purpose of our American Revolution, the reasons for the separation of powers in our government or the role of the states in our federal system, that generation isn’t likely to notice when its liberties slowly slip away and will not be equipped to hold elected officials accountable,” said Roger Beckett, executive director of the Ashbrook Center.

But damn, they’ll know everything about Snap Chat and The Kardashians!

He’s absoutely right. If young Americans do not understand how our system ideally works, they have no way of understanding what’s wrong — or how to fix it.

Which I think was the point all along. But then the old guard dies off and these “feel good” idiots take over the country is doomed.

Unfortunately, our young are deeply susceptible to liberal teachers sneering that “nothing works” in America and that today’s students are victims of social forces beyond their control — race, wealth inequality, gender, whatever — not masters of their own fates.

Are we being too harsh on our education system?

NO.

Not at all. Since the 1960s, K-12 educators have used the Italian Marxist Antonio Gramsci’s theories of “cultural Marxism” to indoctrinate kids with poisonous, anti-social ideas — ranging from multiculturalism, political correctness and diversity, to affirmative action, social justice and inequality.

Meanwhile, they relegate fact-based study of history, geography and culture to the academic ash heap.

No longer teaching a fact-based curriculum, left-wing teachers, unions and administrators can fill young heads with all sorts of useless, nihilistic nonsense.

Yes, young adults might be right: Our institutions are flawed and dysfunctional. But they should also know this: In democracy, you get the institutions you deserve. (IBD)

They just think they are “entitled” and “enlightened” because the Left wing has told them so since birth.

Among college-aged Americans, 58 percent report a positive view of socialism and 56 percent a positive view of capitalism. In contrast,  only 28 percent of seniors have a positive view of socialism while 61 percent have a favorable view of capitalism. This may give the impression young people are trending socialist.

However, college-aged Americans are far more supportive of a free market system (72%) than they are of a government-managed economy (49%). Seniors concur with young people on the free market system (74%), while only 28 percent have a positive view of a government-managed economy.

Several forces could likely be at play. First, young people don’t know what these words mean. The fact that they are more favorable toward socialism than a government-managed economy, which if anything is socialism-lite, demonstrates this. Second, young people like free markets and the technology, products, and wealth it creates, but they also want to feel confident the poor have access to what they need. In their minds socialism might simply connote a social safety net rather than government ownership. Third, individuals often trend left in their youth, but may change as they age. Fourth, this cohort of young people may be systematically different from older generations in holding a preference for both markets and government activism. It remains to be determined how this young generation will make the trade-off when markets and government action are at odds. (reason.com)
