The New Red Menace

Michael Ramirez Cartoon

A new study suggests that President Obama’s campaign systematically pursued foreign contributions to fuel his run for the presidency, a violation of law. Is America’s democracy now for sale to the highest bidder?

The Government Accountability Institute, which is headed by Stanford University Professor Peter Schweizer, used sophisticated Internet investigative tools — including something called “spidering” software — to determine how the web is being used to raise political funds.

What it found should be of concern, since it suggests that many in Congress and, more importantly, the Obama campaign have systematically exploited loopholes in the law to raise millions of dollars overseas — a big chunk of it in the People’s Republic of China.

How is this done? Through the mundane use of what’s called in the credit-card world the Card Verification Value, or CVV. It’s the three-digit number on the back of a card that helps positively identify that the person using the card has it in his or her possession. It’s a key anti-fraud weapon, used by nearly all legitimate e-commerce businesses and charities.

Obama’s campaign doesn’t use it. Mitt Romney’s does. So why the particular concern over Obama?

As the report notes, letting a flood of money into the political system with no verification of its source is an invitation to fraud — especially from overseas.

The end justifies the means. Win at any cost. Lying and Cheating are good as long as you don’t get caught, then it’s someone’s fault anyhow. So go for it!
So how much of that “record” $181 million Obama touts from September was legitimate? And do they care?
No, they don’t.
They have to have as much money as possible to spread as much poison as possible.
The Nuke Romney until he glows stategy of Vote for me Romney’s a Nuclear Slag Pile of Shit will only work with lots of money for lots of scurrilous and defamatory lying attack ads.
So they need as much money as they can get their hands on, Legal or not. Who cares.
It’s about winning, it’s not about legality, or morality. Hell no!
Under federal election law, contributions from foreign sources are prohibited. But the law also doesn’t require a campaign to disclose the source of contributions less than $200, and it doesn’t even have to keep records for those giving less than $50.

In September, for instance, Obama’s campaign announced it had raised $181 million. But if you’re looking for transparency, you won’t find it: Just 2% of that amount — $3.6 million — has to be reported to the FEC.

In 2008, Robert Roche, a U.S. businessman based in Shanghai with extensive commercial ties to the Chinese government, bought the website Obama.com.

Roche, a big-time bundler for Obama, was given a place of honor at the head table with Obama and first lady Michelle Obama at a 2011 state dinner for Chinese President Hu Jintao. Nothing illegal about that.

It’s not clear Roche still even owns Obama.com. But this year, suspiciously, the site began sending visitors to the Obama campaign’s donation page on the Web. Some 68% of Obama.com’s visitors are foreign.

Similarly, the Obama re-election campaign itself seems to be encouraging illegal foreign contributions.

Its social media website, my.barackobama.com, gets about 20% of its visitors from foreign locations. Anyone who uses the website, says the GAI, “immediately begins receiving solicitations for donations.”

However, “At no point … is a visitor asked whether he or she can legally donate to a U.S. election,” it notes.

The revelation is troubling, since China’s government has a history of trying to manipulate U.S. politicians, especially — but not exclusively — Democrats.

In 1996, Chinese agent Johnny Chung gave almost $100,000 to American politicians, much of it from powerful members of China’s military. Chung reportedly gave $300,000 to President Clinton’s campaign.

The Justice Department in 1997 launched two investigations of reported attempts of high-level Chinese officials to “buy influence” with U.S. politicians, especially the Democratic National Committee.
(and we know THIS Justice Department is not overly political and can do it’s job without ideological or partisan concerns) 🙂

With the Internet, China seems to have found a road to political clout bigger than an eight-lane highway.

Under the current president, the U.S. has largely ceded control of the Western Pacific to China and let that nation’s massive military buildup go unchallenged. Meanwhile, until recently, Obama soft-pedaled even the mildest criticisms of China’s economic policies.

But then, why bite the hand that feeds you?

But I’m sure it’s BAIN’s fault. 🙂

Getting Out the Vote (Fraud)

Political Cartoon by Jerry Holbert
No wonder the symbol of the Democrat Party is a Jackass. 🙂
Michelle Malkin: Here we go again. Desperation plus the by-any-means-necessary credo plus a nationwide force of Alinsky avengers equals another recipe for voter fraud.

In Colorado, it’s Common Cause of Colorado, Mi Familia Vota Education Fund and the Service Employees International Union caught in an apparent scheme to foist some 6,000 shady voter registrations on the state:

A federal judge declined to force the secretary of state to reactivate approximately 6,000 new voters whose registrations were canceled under Colorado’s 20-day rule.

In a decision issued Monday, Senior U.S. District Judge John L. Kane denied a motion for a preliminary injunction that was requested by several labor and voting-rights groups.

When a new voter registers in Colorado, the secretary of state mails a nonforwardable notice of disposition that the voter’s registration has been received. If the notice comes back undeliverable in the mail, then clerks deem the voter’s registration inactive within 20 days.

Melody Mirbaba, an assistant attorney general, argued that the 20-day rule is designed to stop voter fraud and duplicate registrations.

In Arizona, it’s illegal alien amnesty-supporting, SEIU-tied Mi Familia Vota again and One Vote Arizona submitting massive, last-minute voter registrations. The race between rocket scientist Ruth McClung and open-borders radical Raul Grijalva is down to the wire. Maria Carvajal at Publius Pundit reports:

The Yuma Sun is reporting that two organizations — Mi Familia Vota and One Vote Arizona — submitted more than 3000 voter registrations in Yuma County, and more than 20,000 voters statewide. Even more, they have signed up 43,000 people statewide for the permanent early voter list.

What they didn’t tell you is that voter fraud on a massive scale could be taking place, ostensibly to help Raul Grijalva keep the congressional seat he holds by stealing the election.

Here’s what the article doesn’t tell you, by a source in the Yuma County Recorder’s Office:

* These 3000 voter registration forms were all dropped off at once by the one group on the deadline to turn in voter registration forms.
* Almost all of the registrations were for the Democratic Party, a statistical improbability at best.
* Today, these same 3000 newly registered voters — as a group — had papers dropped off at the Yuma Recorder’s office requesting to be signed up for the permanent early voters list… which means the ballots will be mailed early, with no accountability.
* The Yuma Recorder’s office is checking the voter registration forms and have found that already more than 65% of them are invalid due to the registrant not being a citizen, wrong/invalid address, false signature, etc.

Now, the question is: is voter fraud taking place in Yuma County… and is it taking place on an even bigger scale in Pima County?

So far, the partisan Democrat in charge of the Pima County Recorder’s Office, F. Ann Rodriguez, has been completely silent about any such activity, though certainly even just a few thousand votes could change the outcome of the race between rocket scientist Ruth McClung and boycotter Raul Grijalva.

In Washington state, it’s illegal alien amnesty-supporting OneAmerica Votes sending illegal alien canvassers out to drum up votes:

When Maria Gianni is knocking on voters’ doors, she’s not bashful about telling people she is in the country illegally.

She knows it’s a risk to advertise this fact to strangers — but it’s one worth taking in what she sees as a crucial election.

The 42-year-old is one of dozens of volunteers — many of them illegal immigrants — canvassing neighborhoods in the Seattle area trying to get naturalized citizens to cast a ballot for candidates like Democratic Sen. Patty Murray, who is in a neck-and-neck race with Republican Dino Rossi.

Pramila Jayapal, head of OneAmerica Votes, says the campaign is about empowering immigrants who may not feel like they can contribute to a campaign because they can’t vote.

“Immigrants really do matter,” Jayapal said. “If we can’t vote ourselves, we’re gonna knock on doors or get family members to vote.”

In Florida, it’s suspected absentee ballot fraud — from within a city commissioner’s office:

When police raided Daytona Beach City Commissioner Derrick Henry’s office this week and seized his computer, they say they discovered evidence of what election experts say has become a rampant, largely ignored and troubling issue in Florida — the widespread abuse of absentee ballots.

Police say Henry’s computer was used to obtain dozens of absentee ballots prior to the city’s Aug. 24 elections, in which he was re-elected.

The Daytona Beach probe started when an elections supervisor noticed that as many as 90 absentee ballots had been requested from two e-mail addresses, and that they came from a single computer. (It is illegal in Florida for anyone other than a family member to help in requesting an absentee ballot.)

Volusia County Election Supervisor Ann McFall said she grew suspicious “because 40 requests arrived in one batch on the night of Aug. 6, and another 15 the next day.

“The absentee ballots had no phone numbers on them, and my first concern was to get them in compliance. I emailed the sender and when I got no response checked with the Daytona Beach clerk, because all the requests were from Zone 5 and he didn’t recognize the address. Then I handed it over to the sheriff’s office,” she said.

Police tracked the computer to the office of Henry, the city commissioner from Zone 5, who was running for re-election — and who easily defeated his two opponents with 65 per cent of the vote.

In New York, FNC’s Eric Shawn reports on another absentee ballot scheme implicating the ACORN-tied Working Family Party and a ring of Democrat officials:

There are various allegations of possible voter fraud across the country, against both parties, but nowhere does there seem to be a more unusual case than in Troy, New York.

A special prosecutor investigating allegations of voter fraud, Trey Smith, is collecting DNA from the majority of the city council…all Democrats. Five city councilmen, including the council president, as well as four other city and county public officials and political operatives, have been ordered to or have had their saliva swabbed for DNA samples to compare to absentee ballots and absentee ballot applications that were allegedly forged.

The investigation centers on what has been called “a massive voter fraud scheme,” that involved absentee ballots for the Working Families Party, in September 2009. It has been alleged that Democrats tried to steal the primary election for city council and county legislature, by forging absentee ballots and ballot applications to ensure that their candidates also won the Working Families Party primary line.

‘No comment,” is what Democratic Council member Gary Galuski told us, as well as several other public officials who are under investigation.

In Texas, citizen watchdogs have joined True the Vote to monitor and strike back against election fraud in Harris County:

Talk about denial! A group of liberal activists is making the media rounds, assuring reporters and editors that election fraud is a fairy tale. Nothing serious, they assert, nothing to see here. Too bad for them that citizens in Houston, energized by the Tea Party movement, have formed a group called True the Vote. Their hard work has demonstrated that, in some parts of the country at least, our election system is still infested with problems.

True the Vote is composed entirely of volunteers — hundreds of them. They have pored over election records in Harris County, Texas, looking for signs of fraud. And they have found plenty. Indeed, their initial research into only a very small portion of the voter registration records has led them to ask the U.S. Justice Department’s Voting Section to conduct a federal investigation.

In a letter asking for an official inquiry, True the Vote discusses potential widespread forgery in voter application forms. For instance, it seems from the applications that someone suspiciously signs the letter “J” with a quirky “3” inside the loop. The “3” shows up in multiple signatures for different voters with the names Jenard, Jamark, Jamarcus, and Jones.

True the Vote reports that at least four noncitizens have been registered to vote in Harris County. The group provided Justice with the actual voter registration forms where applicants marked “NO” to the question: “Are you a U.S. Citizen?” The group also provided the voter registration numbers of these confessed noncitizens. Yes, astonishingly, Harris County registered them to vote anyway. They are now on the rolls and able to participate in the upcoming midterm elections.

The Help America Vote Act of 2002 was supposed to stop this from happening. But this federal legislation is only as good as the Justice Department’s willingness to enforce it. If Harris County is registering noncitizens, then it is violating numerous provisions of federal law, including those that prohibit the registration of foreigners to vote in federal elections.

True the Vote uncovered other types of fraud as well. The group forwarded to DOJ seven voter registration forms with applicant names different from the signature name. For example: Ta’mackayn Harrison’s application was signed by “Bra Kelly.” Jason King’s was signed by “Jemma Noel.” Yet Harris County inexplicably approved all of these applications. Jason King, aka Jemma Noel, is now on the voter rolls in Houston.

The citizens group also found multiple registrations for individual voters. For example, True the Vote provided the Justice Department government documents showing that at least four persons, including Jose Gomez and Victor Nickerson, had registered to vote multiple times successfully.

These problems were found by True the Vote in just a small sampling of the county’s voter registration list.

In Kentucky, there’s not much detail, but state and FBI officials are investigating voter fraud in Breathhitt County.

In Illinois, disgraceful officials have reportedly been caught lying about the status of military ballots while DOJ twiddles its thumbs.

In Ohio, it’s Cincinnati schools under fire for busing students to vote and handing them Democrat-only sample ballots:

Three van loads of Hughes High students were taken last week – during school hours – to vote and given sample ballots only for Democratic candidates and then taken for ice cream, a Monday lawsuit alleges.

The complaint was made by Thomas Brinkman Jr., a Republican candidate for Hamilton County auditor, and the Coalition Opposed to Additional Spending & Taxes against Cincinnati Public Schools.

“They plan to bring four more high schools (to vote) this week,” Christopher Finney, COAST attorney, said Monday after filing the suit.

It seeks a temporary restraining order to prevent school officials from participating or helping students participate in partisan politics during school hours or with school property or employees involved.

These cases underscore the need for voters to put secretaries of state into office who will protect election integrity from radical left-wing groups. I’ve said before we need candidates like Kris Kobach, running for secretary of state in Kansas on an anti-fraud, anti-corruption, anti-ACORN platform, in every state in the nation.

In the meantime: Vigilance plus citizen media plus the willingness to be sued for blowing the whistle equals the best defense for voter fraud. We must all be voter fraud watchers now.

PORTLAND (ME) — A proposal on the city’s ballot to give noncitizens the right to vote in municipal elections was the focus of a student-moderated forum Wednesday at Portland High School.
The ballot proposal would allow legal residents of Portland who aren’t U.S. citizens to vote in City Council and School Committee elections, on school budgets and on local issues.
The Pro-Illegals argument is that since we have to educate their kids their illegal parents should get a vote.

In San Francisco, a ballot question Nov. 2 will ask voters whether they want to allow noncitizens to vote in school board elections if they are the parents, legal guardians or caregivers of children in the school system.

Noncitizens are allowed to vote in school board elections in Chicago and in municipal elections in half a dozen towns in Maryland, said Ron Hayduk, a professor at the City University of New York and author of “Democracy for All: Restoring Immigrant Voting Rights in the United States.”

New York City allowed noncitizens to vote in community school board elections until 2003, when the school board system was reorganized, and several municipalities in Massachusetts have approved allowing it but don’t yet have the required approval from the Legislature, he said.

Abdirizak Daud, 40, moved to Minneapolis 18 years ago before coming to Portland in 2006. He hasn’t been able to find a job. Some of his nine children have attended Portland schools, and he’d like to have a say in who’s looking over the school system and the city, he said.

But between his limited English and the financial demands, Daud hasn’t been able to become a citizen.

“I like the Democrats. I want to vote for Democrats, but I don’t have citizenship,” he said. (FOX)

Gee, that couldn’t be why the Democrats are behind this could it?

And you wonder why liberals are the one always committing voter fraud.
Voting is a privilege, not a right guaranteed by the Constitution.  There are laws in place that give legal immigrants a path to citizenship with all the privileges that go with citizenship.  Those laws should be respected and upheld.
But Liberals will have none of that, because they know they will be new Democrats and slaves to their whims.
Works for them. Benefits them. So it must be ok, right? 🙂
The end justifies the means.

The First A-Bomb

Michael Ramirez Cartoon

“People are frustrated, they’re anxious, they’re scared about the future. And they have a right to be impatient about the pace of change. I’m impatient. It took time to free the slaves,”– President Obama speaking to young Democrats at a hip-hop concert in Washington.

After all, this struggle to retain their power is as important as freeing the slaves which the then Democrat party was against by the way just like they were the ones against the Civil Rights Acts more than Republicans. But those are actual facts and that’s the last thing you’ll hear from the Democrats for the next month at least.

In the 2008 campaign, Michelle Obama at one point said of her husband’s burden: “Barack is one of the smartest people you will ever encounter who will deign to enter this messy thing called politics.”

The president often clears his throat with “let me be perfectly clear” and “make no mistake about it” — as if we, his schoolchildren, have to be warned to pay attention to the all-knowing teacher at the front of the class. (VDH)

Hitler proclaimed that the Third Reich would last a thousand years.

It didn’t.

The Democrats are still hoping for the same thing.

And since they have shown the need to win at all costs and have a propensity for Ends Justify the Means they have begun their bombardment.

And the Ministry of truth will be right their with them, arm-in-armament.

It will not be about their actual “accomplishments”. It will be a war of words. Mostly lies, distortions and personal attacks.

FEAR IS HOPE, after all.

And the first of the “October Surprises” was dropped by ultra-liberal Lawyer Gloria Alred.

The maid who was hired through a legitimate company 9 years ago with all due diligence of the day. When it was discovered she was an illegal, she was fired. LAST YEAR.

But it didn’t matter until just now, a month before the election when she is neck and neck with Ultra liberal Former Governor Jerry Brown.

Only now it matters. If Brown was farther ahead you’d never have hear this one.

And now this maid who was making $23/hr should be in prison for felonies and fraud.Exposed by the liberals for their own gain. After all, she was fired in 2009 and is still here in the country, so what has she been doing since?

But do you think a Justice Dept. that has a policy and a practice of not prosecuting minorities is going to touch this with a 12-foot barge pool?

Especially, when this woman can be used a political pawn, and discarded like throwing out the trash after the election if Brown wins.

Cindy Sheehan, anyone? You do remember her right? 🙂

NO.

This is merely a cynical Political stunt by the Democrats.

As any employer can tell you, when an employee presents employment verification documents, they must be inspected and then accepted if they appear to be genuine. Meg and her husband took the appropriate steps as required by law. The documents appeared to be valid and they had to accept them as presented.

The Social Security Administration issued these “No-Match” letters for several years before stopping the practice altogether. They sent millions of letters every year, to employers and employees, before realizing the futility of the process. When Meg and her husband received the No-Match letter for the employee they took the same action that tens of thousands of employers have done; they asked the employee to correct the information.

As the No-Match letter states, “Any employer that uses the information in this letter to justify taking adverse action against any employee may violate state or federal law and be subject to legal consequences.” It is impossible to legally terminate an employee based on “clues” or suppositions about their immigration status. You must have concrete facts before you can take action, or else be subject to discrimination lawsuits. When the employee confessed that she was working illegally in the U.S., it was the proper action to then terminate her employment. (Fresno Business Journal)

But that doesn’t matter, because the whole point of this exercise was to set off a Democratic A-Bomb (Ad-hominem bomb) and smirk and act all superior. To puff themselves up.

The issues, and poor victim of this charade, the maid, reading a pre-prepared statement to camera might as well have been a captive of Al-Qaeda for all it matters.

Want to here Gloria Alred be destroyed by logic and reasoning: http://www.marklevinshow.com/Article.asp?id=1970739&spid=32364

When asked if her client was an “illegal alien” she said  “No”.

When pressed she repeatedly said she wasn’t an illegal alien, merely an “undocumented worker” (who has openly admitted to committing Social Security Fraud).

So the famed lawyer, Gloria Alred, deliberately dismisses the legal and lawful term because it doesn’t fit with her agenda.

And that’s liberalism for you and their view of the law.

And there are plenty more A-Bombs to come as the Democrats will stop at nothing to hold on to their power.

NOTHING.

Expect to see the next two weeks bring much more in way of personal attacks and allegations of scandal. And especially with so much money floating around in hard-to-track outside groups, those attacks are likely to be pretty vicious.
Washington Post columnist Eugene Robinson recently psychoanalyzed the falling support for the president by claiming that “the American people are acting like a bunch of spoiled brats.” (VDH)
After all, they are vastly superior to you and you are the Barbarian hoards at THEIR gates trying to sack their Utopian Dream so they have to do everything they can to destroy you. 🙂
When America votes for a liberal candidate, it is redeemed by the left as intelligent — and derided as dense when it does not.

As is their new “Made in America” campaign which bitches and moans that the Republicans are solely responsible for outsourcing jobs and that’s why you need to keep the Democrats.

The fact that millions have lost their jobs SINCE the Democrats took over. That the Stimulus was a total failure (upwards of $300,000 per “saved or created” job-mostly in the public sector not private sector to begin with).

That their refusal to extend tax cuts sends a message to employers that not only will ObamaCare kick your ass but now we are going to raise your taxes also!

That always makes a good atmosphere for job creation.

The Democrats can hang themselves on their “only for those making $250,000 a year” crap around their necks and choke on it. They refused to even bring THAT up for a vote.

And they left town knowing they had never done it.

So where are their convictions. They have none.

They just want to hold onto to their power. That’s it.

They will say anything. Do anything to win.

The End Justifies the Means.

Moral, Ethics, and the Truth Be damned!

We want to keep our power!

“And it’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy toward people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.”–Candidate Obama

And Now, A Word From Charles

“Look, advertising is legalized mendacity. When you see an ad in a football game that tells you essentially if you drink the right beer or you drive the right car, you are going to get chicks, nobody sues them on the grounds of false advertising. So everybody understands that.

Those are the rules of the game. I draw the line — personal attacks on family or personal issues which I think are completely out of bounds. And that happens as well. But I think if it’s on policy or how a person has conducted himself in office, absolutely OK.”— Charles Krauthammer on “Special Report with Bret Baier” setting the boundaries for political attack ads.

But when the end justifies the means there are no boundaries.

Nothing is off-limits.

Nothing matters but winning.

The carnage is immaterial.

The Truth doesn’t matter.

There is only the Power.

And that is what needs to change.

Current polls suggest that these clueless and unappreciative Americans apparently believe that an elite education does not ensure their officials can balance a budget, pay their own taxes or speak candidly.

What an outrageous “How dare they!” thought.
