Gotta Love Mindlessness

Political Cartoons by Michael Ramirez

Vice President Joe Biden said Congress should pass the $450-billion American Jobs Act even if the economy were growing at 8 percent and unemployment were as low as 3 percent.

“Look, we should be doing all of this stuff even if we were growing by 8 percent, even if there was a 3 percent unemployment rate in America,” Biden said at an event on Thursday to promote the legislation. “We need better roads, we need better bridges, we need safer streets.”

So even if we were growing we’d need to do exactly the same thing we are doing now!

Wow! the liberal instinct is mindless.

May 2010: Biden- “We have new ideas about how to spend government money wisely.”

“I might add, I’m very proud to say, that’s there’s been virtually no – knock on wood – virtually no fraud associated with the $787 billion program overall,”

You can always count on Uncle Joe… 🙂

“We want to make it clear to the American people, notwithstanding the fact that the economy is growing and even if the economy were raging at 6 or 8 percent a quarter and the growth of the GDP, that’s not the measure we’re going to use when our term ends as to whether or not we think we were successful,”

Sound familiar? (Look at the quote at the top then wonder more about mindlessness of liberalism).

Take-home pay, adjusted for prices, fell 0.3 percent in August, the third decrease in five months, and personal income dropped for the first time in two years, the Commerce Department reported last week. The declines followed news from the Census Bureau that median household income <http://topics.bloomberg.com/household-income/> in 2010 fell to $49,445, the lowest in more than a decade, and the poverty rate jumped to 15.1 percent, a 17-year high.

Muhtar Kent, Coke’s chief executive, said “in many respects” it was easier doing business in China, which he likened to a well-managed company. “You have a one-stop shop in terms of the Chinese foreign investment agency and local governments are fighting for investment with each other,” he told the Financial Times.

Mr Kent also pointed to Brazil as an example of an emerging economy that is making itself attractive to investment in ways that the US once did.

“They’re learning very fast, these countries,” he said. “In the west, we’re forgetting what really worked 20 years ago. In China and other markets around the world, you see the kind of attention to detail about how business works and how business creates employment.”

Kent also took on Washington head on.

“When a country is in trouble, you can’t have a polarized political process,” he said. “There’s too much comfort. We need more needles to stick in politicians.” (NPR)

FYI: Since this was NPR, all the commentators trashed Coke instead of noticing what he actually said. More mindless liberal attacks.

So when Communist China is more business-friendly than the US, do you think we have a problem?

Nope. It’s all Wall Street’s fault!

Or the Banks, Like Bank of America and their Debit-Card Fees. Problem is, The Dodd-Frank Bill passed by the Democrats CAUSED the problem by restricting fees Banks can charge for transactions so they came up with another one!

But don’t expect the liberals to understand the causal relationship.

The liberals just want you run Bank of America into the ground instead. (Not noticing that other banks are also subject to Dodd-Frank so they will be forced to do it also). That will improve the jobs situation!

I guess they are no longer “too big to fail”. 🙂

And the Fact that Sen. Durbin is so mad at Bank of America for blaming him it proves he did it. But it was for “right” reasons and “for your benefit”.

Enjoy.

“That is an illegitimate charge in a country that has life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness in its founding documents,” Nancy Pelosi says about Republican use of “class warfare.”

Gotta love Nancy. Really, you have to, or else! 🙂

Keith Olbermann, host of “Countdown” on Current TV: “Figuratively, where does it (Occupy Wall Street) go from here, do you think? Based upon your experience and what you’ve seen in your three trips down there.”

<Millionaire> Michael Moore: “I think that, not only is this going to continue, these cities that you mentioned. This is what is so wonderful about this. There really isn’t anything driving this other than what Wall Street has done and what those who are in charge of our economy have done. They weren’t just happy enough with multi-billions, they wanted tens of hundreds of billions, maybe even trillions, so –“

Olbermann: “Kleptomania.”

Moore: “They’re kleptomaniacs, is what they are. They’re out of control. I think there is some sort of sociopathic illness and they know what us to life in a kleptocracy. Where the kleptomaniacs run the show. This is going to spread. I said this last week, I said it two weeks ago when I first spoke with you. And the mainstream media was trying to pooh-pooh this, ‘oh it’s just a feud down there, don’t worry.’ Well what happened Saturday, not just here, but as you said in Boston, LA, in Chicago and elsewhere.”

Moore calls on President Obama to give another speech and to call upon his Justice Department to investigate the bankers and give them a perp walk.

But the same people in the Justice Department ,behind Fast & Furious, nothing about this real problem. They want to abolish the ATF instead, that way they can bury all bodies…gotta love mindless partisanship.

Really, you have to love it…or else. Just ask a liberal.

Occupy Wall Street and the tea party
Can you spot the difference??
MEDICARE
Remember that ObamaCare was going to cut $500 Billion and then double counted it as savings but if you try and reform it the Democrat Fear Patrols go ballistic.
Well…
Medicare is subsidizing drug abuse by thousands of beneficiaries who shop around for doctors and fill prescriptions for huge quantities of painkillers and other narcotics far exceeding what any patient could safely use, Congressional investigators say in a new report.

“Our analysis found that about 170,000 Medicare beneficiaries received prescriptions from five or more medical practitioners” for 14 types of drugs that are frequently abused, said Gregory D. Kutz, director of forensic audits and special investigations at the accounting office.

The medications were obtained through Part D of Medicare (Signed By President Bush-by the way but don’t tell the Democrats), which provides coverage for prescription drugs. The drugs most commonly abused by Medicare beneficiaries included powerful prescription painkillers like oxycodones and hydrocodone products. Oxycodones include OxyContin and Percocet.

In one case described in the report, a Medicare beneficiary in Georgia received a 150-day supply of oxycodone in just 27 days by obtaining seven prescriptions from four doctors. Over the course of a year, the woman received prescriptions for a total of 3,655 oxycodone pills (a 1,679-day supply) from 58 different prescribers, and she filled them at more than 40 pharmacies.

In another case, a California man received prescriptions for a total of 1,397 fentanyl patches and pills (a 1,758-day supply) from 21 different prescribers in a year. In a third case, a Texas beneficiary received prescriptions for a total of 4,574 hydrocodone pills (a 994-day supply) from 25 different doctors. (NY Times)

But if you want to reform Medicare you just want Seniors to die! (according to the Left).

But at least Drug Addicts are on the government dole funded by taxpayers. We fund the biggest drug addicts of all already–Congress!
And the Mindless Zombies continue ever onward…Must Spend! Must Control!…

Perception

Janeane Garofalo: “Herman Cain is probably well liked by some of the Republicans because it hides the racist elements of the Republican party. Conservative movement and tea party movement, one in the same.

“People like Karl Rove liked to keep the racism very covert. And so Herman Cain provides this great opportunity say you can say ‘Look, this is not a racist, anti-immigrant, anti-female, anti-gay movement. Look we have a black man.'”

So if you don’t like Obama’s policies, you’re a racist. And if you like a black Republican it’s just because you ARE racist and just want to hide it…”I have many black friends…” 🙂

So it’s the “So when did you stop beating your wife” false choice fallacy.

SoWhen did you stop being a racist? 🙂

Herman Cain says President Obama’s supporters play the race card to paper over the commander in chief’s failures. “While I don’t believe that Barack Obama used racial issues to get elected, I do believe that many of his supporters selectively use race to cover up some of his failures,”

“Whenever President Obama is criticized over policy mistakes, his surrogates tend to play the race card, as if there’s supposed to be something inherently morally wrong in such criticism,” he adds.

The former CEO of Godfather’s Pizza said, “I have received some of that same vitriol simply because I am running for the Republican nomination as a conservative.”
But he’s not with his brothers in suffrage to the White Man (and Republicans)! 🙂

“This is a great great country that had gotten a little soft and we didn’t have that same competitive edge that we needed over the last couple of decades,” Mr. Obama said in response to a question about the country’s economic future. “We need to get back on track.”

So Trillions of dollars on “stimulus”, ObamaCare, massive regulations, choking businesses to death, redistribution of wealth, inflation, and persistent unemployment over 8% for 2 1/2 years is the solution.

Oh wait, he’s running for re-election so what’s he want–More Spending, More taxes, and more regulations. Head Meet Wall!

Yep, that’ll work! If you just do it more it will work! 🙂

We couldn’t be “soft” because he wants everyone dependent on the government and when the rubber meets the road the instinct is to cry for more money and complain about “rich” people having too much give me some of yours. Nah… 🙂

Or as is in his own Jobs Bill that Congress must pass:  The job creation bill that President Obama sent to Congress earlier this month includes a provision that would allow unsuccessful job applicants to sue if they think a company of 15 more employees denied them a job because they were unemployed.

That has nothing to do with it… 🙂

Interesting perspective.  I wonder where America could have lost its competitive edge. It couldn’t possibly have anything to do with a government that blows billions on green energy boondoggles while making it harder to drill for oil while trying to make electricity rates “skyrocket.” It couldn’t have to do with extending unemployment benefits to 99 weeks (and rising), or to bailouts or perhaps advice like this offered by Michelle Obama:

“We left corporate America, which is a lot of what we’re asking young people to do,” she tells the women. “Don’t go into corporate America. You know, become teachers. Work for the community. Be social workers. Be a nurse. Those are the careers that we need, and we’re encouraging our young people to do that. But if you make that choice, as we did, to move out of the money-making industry into the helping industry, then your salaries respond.” Faced with that reality, she adds, “many of our bright stars are going into corporate law or hedge-fund management.” (FOX)

Nope. It’s The Republicans Fault. And those nasty violent, racist Tea-Baggers and evil “corporate jet owners”. 🙂
The Narcissistic “Me” Generation and their kids who feel entitled to other people’s money and success would have nothing to do with it at all!
The schools that teach liberalism and socialism as a good thing to kids who don’t know any better has nothing to do with it at all!
A biased liberal media has nothing to do with it at all.
It’s just a bunch of Racist Republicans that doom us all. 🙂
“Telling those who are scared and struggling that the only way their lives can get better is to diminish the success of others . . . trying to cynically convince those who are suffering that the American economic pie is no longer a growing one . . . insisting that we must tax and take and demonize those who have already achieved the American dream . . . is a demoralizing message for America.” (Larry Kudlow)
Let me illustrate by a conversation I had recently.
The other person (paraphrasing): Times are tough. Companies need to have sympathy for our suffering. Raising their prices is just not right.
Me (paraphrasing): But inflation happens, especially when medical costs are going up, food prices are going up ,etc. (Inflation is up 5% since  2009).
Other person: but it’s not right, they should lower their prices because we are suffering (Notice the word choices that keep popping up).
I want to, but I didn’t ask this person, in times when everything is great and booming is it then ok for them to overcharge you because times are good (by analogy because they are supposed to undercharge you when times are bad). But I know the response: No.
Companies are supposed to think about “Me” First. Me…Me…Me…ME!
Do What I want. What benefits me. Screw you.
Who gives a crap if undercharging people costs jobs and could cause the company to go under (it’s called debt). It benefits me. And besides, “you have enough already”. 🙂
This person would not have cared because it’s all about them! When times are bad, pity me, when times are good kiss my ass.
It’s all about the the Narcissism.
And besides, you have more than you need anyhow. Give me some or I’ll get some to take it from you.
No, that’s not “soft” at all… 🙂
Obama said. “I remember when I was in 8th grade I had to take a class called ethics. Now, ethics is about right and wrong, but if you’d ask me what my favorite subject was back in 8th grade, it was basketball. I don’t think ethics would have made it on the list.” (CNS)
DOH!!
Kinda like being in a Black Liberation Theology Church for 20 years and not hearing a damn thing… 🙂
By the way, as a note on the Obama Jobs Bill that will be the Republican’s Fault when it fails:

Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) said that, at the moment, Democrats don’t have the votes to pass President Obama’s jobs bill, but Durbin added that that would change.

“Not at the moment, I don’t think we do but, uh, we can work on it,” Durbin said according to Chicago radio station WLS…

“The oil-producing state senators don’t like eliminating or reducing the subsidy for oil companies, “Durbin said. “There are some senators who are up for election who say I’m never gonna vote for a tax increase while I’m up for election, even on the wealthiest people. So, we’re not gonna have 100% Democratic senators. That’s why it needs to be bi-partisan and I hope we can find some Republicans who will join us to make it happen.”  (hot air.com)

And when they don’t it will be their fault.

Ta Da!

America, what a Country!

As a Tea party Independent I have to wonder if these “outraged” Liberals would have felt same way abouthe Bush as Hitler, or a chimp, or the Assassination Movie about killing The President of the United States. Doubt it.
Fascinating…

See Something, Say Nothing

Janeane Garofalo stopped being funny in…let’s see, what year was she born? Now, while accusing others of racism (over and over with the Tea Party), she proves what a racist she is on Keith Olberman’s show (The one on Al Gore’s Current TV that only the far left would watch) by suggesting that businessman and presidential candidate Herman Cain is being paid by somebody to run as a Republican and that he’s suffering from “Stockholm Syndrome.” (Stockholm syndrome is a term used to describe a real paradoxical psychological phenomenon wherein hostages express empathy and have positive feelings towards their captors, sometimes to the point of defending them).

That’s right Janeane, a Black man can’t possibly think that taxes are too high, the federal government is too big and that regulations are killing small businesses and innovation. Why? Because that doesn’t fit your preconceived idea of what being Black means. Uh, that’s racism.

IF YOU’RE ILLEGAL, SO WHAT!

WASHINGTON (AP) – The Obama administration said Thursday it will allow many illegal immigrants facing deportation the chance to stay in this country and apply for a work permit, while focusing on removing from the U.S. convicted criminals and those who might be a national security or public safety threat. (Just not AT the border).

That will mean a case-by-case review of approximately 300,000 illegal immigrants facing possible deportation in federal immigration courts, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said in announcing the policy change.

Advocates for an immigration overhaul have said that the administration, by placing all illegal immigrants in the same category for deportation, has failed to live up to its promise to only deport the “worst of the worst,” as President Barack Obama has said.

“From a law enforcement and public safety perspective, DHS enforcement resources must continue to be focused on our highest priorities,”  (The 97 year old dying grandma, 18 month olds with diapers, white people, Tea Party Terrorists!…the usual suspects!) Napolitano wrote a group of senators supporting new immigration legislation. “Doing otherwise hinders our public safety mission – clogging immigration court dockets and diverting DHS enforcement resources away from the individuals who pose a threat to public safety.” (translation: actually doing our job!)

Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., a longtime supporter of immigration overhaul and the DREAM Act, applauded the policy change.

“These students are the future doctors, lawyers, teachers and, maybe, senators, who will make America stronger,” Durbin said in an emailed statement. “We need to be doing all we can to keep these talented, dedicated, American students here, not wasting increasingly precious resources sending them away to countries they barely remember.” (Barf Bag Overload, I think I choked back a tear…nope that was my breakfast!)

Rep. Michael McCaul, R-Texas, said the Obama administration was implementing reforms “against the will of Congress and the majority of American people we represent.”

“It is just the latest attempt by this president to bypass the intended legislative process when he does not get his way,” McCaul said in a statement. “The fact that we have a backlog and prioritize deportations is nothing new. This policy goes a step further granting illegal immigrants a fast-track to gaining a work permit where they will now unfairly compete with more than 9 percent of Americans who are still looking for jobs.”

And the illegal alien wouldn’t show up on unemployment stats either! What a great deal!

But…

“Terrorist Group Setting Up Operations Near Border: Hezbollah Considered To Be More Advanced Than Al-Qaida,” from 10News.com.

SAN DIEGO — A terrorist organization whose home base is in the Middle East has established another home base across the border in Mexico.

“They are recognized by many experts as the ‘A’ team of Muslim terrorist organizations,” a former U.S. intelligence agent told 10News.

The former agent, referring to Shi’a Muslim terrorist group Hezbollah, added, “They certainly have had successes in big-ticket bombings.”

Some of the group’s bombings include the U.S. embassy in Beirut and Israeli embassy in Argentina.

However, the group is now active much closer to San Diego.

“We are looking at 15 or 20 years that Hezbollah has been setting up shop in Mexico,” the agent told 10News.

Since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, U.S. policy has focused on al-Qaida and its offshoots.

“They are more shooters than thinkers … it’s a lot of muscles, courage, desire but not a lot of training,” the agent said, referring to al-Qaida.

Hezbollah, he said, is far more advanced.

“Their operators are far more skilled … they are the equals of Russians, Chinese or Cubans,” he said. “I consider Hezbollah much more dangerous in that sense because of strategic thinking; they think more long-term.”

Hezbolah has operated in South America for decades and then Central America, along with their sometime rival, sometime ally Hamas.

Now, the group is blending into Shi’a Muslim communities in Mexico, including Tijuana. Other pockets along the U.S.-Mexico border region remain largely unidentified as U.S. intelligence agencies are focused on the drug trade.

“They have had clandestine training in how to live in foreign hostile territories,” the agent said. […]

“If they really wanted to start blowing stuff up, they could do it,” the agent said.

According to the agent, the organization sees the U.S. as their “cash cow,” with illegal drug and immigration operations. Many senior Hezbollah leaders are wealthy businessmen, the agent said.

“The money they are sending back to Lebanon is too important right now to jeopardize those operations,” he said.

The agent said the real concern is the group’s long-term goal of radicalizing Muslim communities.

“They’re focusing on developing … infiltrating communities within North America,” the agent told 10News.

And…

SAN DIEGO (AP) – Federal officials said Thursday they’ve taken down a drug and weapons trafficking ring involving members of San Diego’s Iraqi community and a major Mexican drug cartel that was caught selling large amounts of drugs, guns and grenades.

Police in El Cajon said more than 60 suspects linked to the Chaldean Organized Crime Syndicate were arrested.

Smugglers were shipping drugs from El Cajon to Iraqis in Detroit, where the Chaldean syndicate is based, authorities said.

El Cajon and federal police say they have seized 18 pounds of methamphetamine, narcotics, cocaine and other drugs; more than 3,500 pounds of marijuana; $630,000 in cash; four IEDs; and more than 30 guns, including assault rifles.

In April, a Drug Enforcement Agency undercover agent was shown a hand grenade by an immigrant and was told additional grenades were available from a Mexican military source.

The cartel, Sinaloa, is Mexico’s most powerful drug cartel, led by Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, who has become one of the world’s richest and most-wanted men since he escaped from a Mexican prison 10 years ago.

The investigation focused on an Iraqi social club in El Cajon that authorities said is a hub of criminal activity conducted by Iraqi organized crime. Crimes including attempted murder, sales of meth and marijuana, gambling and illegal firearms sales have been reported at the club.

El Cajon police have for years received complaints from neighbors and the wives of men who attended the club. The managers of the club are aware of the criminal activity and demand a cut of the money, according to authorities. Armed guards are allegedly provided during high-states card games.

The club’s troubles go back more than a decade. In 1998, police seized illegal slot machines. In 2007, it was identified as a gathering spot for Iraqi narcotics distributors. In 2009, authorities started investigating the illegal sale of firearms and possession of hand grenades.

Four indictments were unsealed Thursday charging nine people with federal narcotics and weapons trafficking charges and the unlawful possession of various firearms and explosives. One of the suspects, Nofel Noel Suleyman, was also charged with engaging in a continuing criminal enterprise, which carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 20 years in prison.

Under Guzman, Sinaloa grew bloodier and more powerful, controlling cocaine trafficking on the Mexican border with California, while expanding eastward to the corridor between Sonora and Arizona and waging a fierce battle for Chihuahua state bordering Texas. That war made the border city of Ciudad Juarez one of the world’s most dangerous cities.

In October 2010, Mexico made its largest marijuana bust _ 134 tons _ in Tijuana and said markings on the packages linked the haul to El Chapo, showing that he was also running drugs smoothly through a city once controlled by his archrivals, the Arrellano Felix gang.

But if you “see something, say something”. Just as long as it’s not about Illegal Aliens, Hispanics, or terrorists crossing/or crossed the border!!

Especially, if they are terrorists!

So “see something, say nothing”. 🙂

Big Sis and Big Brother aren’t interested.

But if you see a Tea Party Terrorist or a Black politician/man with “Stockholm Syndrome” then say something!

America, what a country! 🙂

The Buzzsaw

After Scott Brown won the Senate race in Massachusetts, the president claimed that his health-care bill ran into a “buzzsaw” of opposition from special interests. But the “buzzsaw” wasn’t special interests, it was the American people. They aren’t an obstacle to be circumvented. The president and his party should heed the people’s message—scrap this bill and start over.

Some Democrats in Washington still don’t get it. This is not an argument between Democrats and Republicans, it’s a fight between Democrats and their own constituents. And if Democrats still insist on forcing this government takeover of health care through Congress over the objection of the people who sent them here, we know this for a fact: Those constituents won’t sit down and shut up. Nor should they.

To Use a Football analogy, it’s time for a Goal line stand.

A stand for the traditional American values of hard work, sacrifice, and the American Dream.

A stand for Freedom.

To stand for the rights of the individual, not the State.

Government by the consent of the governed.

We are the Governed.

We The People.

Our country faces big challenges. Our economy is struggling, the debt is exploding and tens of thousands of Americans are still losing their jobs every month. Health-care costs are skyrocketing. It’s time for both parties to come together and solve these problems. That’s what the American people want, and that’s what they deserve.

If there’s one thing the American people didn’t want, it was for us to make health care more bureaucratic and expensive. The Obama administration’s own scorekeeper at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services says overall health spending will go up by more than $200 billion under the Democrats’ bill. The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) also says federal health spending will rise.

Even proponents of this monster know it will raise your costs.

They don’t care.

It’s about the transformation from Democracy to Socialism.

A European style Social Welfare State.

It’s not about Health Care costs.

Here is Majority Whip Dick Durbin on the floor: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kS7mupZgGxc

The CBO also says health insurance premiums for millions of families across the country will go up by as much as 13% as a result of all the new government mandates contained in this bill—and continue to rise at the current unsustainable rate for nearly everyone else. And it’s all going add to the mountain of debt we are already piling onto our kids and grandkids.(WSJ)

An even more transparent gimmick is collecting money for the new Obama health care program for the first 10 years but delaying the payments of its benefits for four years. By collecting money for 10 years and spending it for only six years, you can make the program look self-supporting, but only on paper and only in the short run.

This is a game you can play just once, during the first decade. After that, you are going to be collecting money for 10 years and paying out money for 10 years.(Thomas Sowell)

Then the bovine fecal matter hits the air circulation device and suddenly, you’ve been Greece’d.

But Obama only wants to have his Grand Egotistical Liberal Holy Grail. His Legacy in that regard will be Immortal.

And that’s what it’s all about.

So we it’s 4th and Goal. And we have to hold the line.

Or else, we’ll be Greece’d.
