Never Lies

President Obama told donors like Jessica Biel, Justin Timberlake (who was wearing hipster glasses), and Tommy Hilfiger that Washington gridlock is pretty much Rush Limbaugh’s fault on Monday evening at a fundraiser at Harvey Weinstein’s house in New York’s Greenwich Village. Obama admitted that his theory — that after the 2012 election, the Republican “fever” would break, and they’d decide to co-sign some of his agenda — was wrong. “My thinking was when we beat them in 2012 that might break the fever, and it’s not quite broken yet,” Obama said, according to the White House pool report. This is because of a certain corpulent radio host. “I genuinely believe there are Republicans out there who would like to work with us but they’re fearful of their base and they’re concerned about what Rush Limbaugh might say about them. And as a consequence we get the kind of gridlock that makes people cynical about government.

Wow!, now that’s cognitive dissonance (not to mention arrogance)….Always have to have a demonizing figure to galvanize the faithful, don’t you Big Brother! 🙂

2014 Totalitarianism or Bust!

WP: “The day after it happened, I acknowledged that this was an act of terrorism.”

As we have noted before, the Benghazi scandal is boring.- The Atlantic

Thomas Sowell: There can be honest differences of opinion on many subjects. But there can also be dishonest differences. Last week’s testimony under oath about events in Benghazi on September 11, 2012 makes painfully clear that what the Obama administration told the American people about those events were lies out of whole cloth.

What we were told repeatedly last year by the President of the United States, the Secretary of State, and the American ambassador to the U.N., was that there was a protest demonstration in Benghazi against an anti-Islamic video produced by an American, and that this protest demonstration simply escalated out of control.

This “spontaneous protest” story did not originate in Libya but in Washington. Neither the Americans on duty in Libya during the attack on the consulate in Benghazi, nor officials of the Libyan government, said anything about a protest demonstration.

The highest American diplomat on the scene in Libya spoke directly with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton by phone, and told her that it was a terrorist attack. The president of Libya announced that it was a terrorist attack. The C.I.A. told the Obama administration that it was a terrorist attack.

With lies, as with potato chips, it is hard to stop with just one. After the “spontaneous protest” story was discredited, the next claim was that this was the best information available at the time from intelligence sources.

But that claim cannot survive scrutiny, now that the 12 drafts of the Obama administration’s talking points about Benghazi have belatedly come to light. As draft after draft of the talking points were made, e-mails from the State Department pressured the intelligence services to omit from these drafts their clear and unequivocal statement from the outset that this was a terrorist attack.

Attempts to make it seem that Ambassador Susan Rice’s false story about a “spontaneous protest” was the result of her not having accurate information from the intelligence services have now been exposed as a second lie to excuse the first lie.

Despite Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s loudly proclaimed question “What difference, at this point, does it make?” the difference is between an honest mistake and a calculated lie to deceive the American people, in order to win an election.

Barack Obama’s election campaign oratory had proclaimed the death of Osama bin Laden as an accomplishment of his administration, as part of a general defeat of Al-Qaeda and other terrorists. To admit that these terrorists were still in action, and strong enough to kill an American ambassador and three other Americans in a well-coordinated military style attack, would be a politically devastating admission during the election campaign.

Far better, politically, to come up with a story about a protest demonstration that just got out of hand. This could be presented as an isolated, one-time event, rather than part of a continuing pattern of terrorism by groups that were still active, despite President Obama’s spin suggesting that they were not.

The problem with telling a lie, or even a succession of lies, is that a very small dose of the truth can sometimes make the whole thing collapse like a house of cards. The State Department’s own foreign service officer Gregory Hicks was in Libya during the attack, so he knew the truth. When threats were not enough to silence him, it was then necessary to try to discredit him.

After years of getting glowing job evaluations, and awards of honors from the State Department for his work in various parts of the world, Mr. Hicks suddenly began to get bad job evaluations and was demoted to a desk job in Washington after he spoke with a Congressman about what he knew. The truth is dangerous to liars.

The Obama administration’s excuse for not trying to get help to the Americans in Benghazi while they were under attack — namely, that it would take too long — is as shaky as its other statements. A small fighting unit in Tripoli was ready to get on a plane to Benghazi when they were ordered to “stand down.” Other fighting units located outside of Libya are designed precisely for fast deployment — and nobody knew how many hours the attack would last.

But it will take more investigations to determine who gave the order to “stand down,” and why. How many new lies that will generate is another question.

But Big Brother Never Lies. Big Brother always tells you the truth. You just have to trust Big Brother. He’s always looking out for you. 🙂

And anyone says differently needs to be re-educated because they are a dirty liar!

Ignore the IRS at your Door, the drone outside your house or the Justice Department listening to everything you say and everything you type. You’re perfectly safe….

The Tactical Budget II

Michael Ramirez Cartoon

Continuing yesterdays “Tactical Budget” theme of the President’s budget which is all politics and not designed to “solve” any problems other than making the Republicans look mean and heartless so the Democrats and the media can run with it 24/7 for the next 2 years.

Obama seems to be playing a political game of chicken with the Republicans — betting they won’t have the guts to make the cuts that he refuses to make. And if they do, he’ll blame them for the pain that results.

No doubt that’s why he totally ignored his own “bipartisan” deficit-cutting commission, which in December recommended big spending cuts and entitlement reform to reduce future budget shortfalls. Obviously, Obama took his copy of the report and shredded it.

As the budget debate heats up, Americans will hear that, as bad as Obama’s plan is, the GOP “hasn’t come up with an alternative.”

If though they have alternatives and said them, many times, that will be the Talking Point (that and how mean the republicans are wanting grandmas to be homeless, how they kick puppies and steal food from children yada yada yada…)

Why? because those “alternatives” are not favored by the Democrat elites, politicos, and the Media, so they don’t exist in their minds and so they should not exist in yours.

How Orwellian, as usual.

Political Cartoons by Mike Lester

I Loved this analysis of the budget:

So let’s go through this and look at his “cuts.” Let’s look at Obama’s cuts.  “Community development block grants would be trimmed by $300 million.”  Forget the size here for a second.  I mean, if I wanted to I could smirk over a $300 million budget cut, but I’m not gonna do that.  “The community development block grants i the government’s program to help low-income people pay their heating bills.”

My friends, do you really this is going to happen?  Do you really believe that budget cuts to people “who can’t pay their heating bills” are actually going to happen? Do you think even the Republicans are gonna vote for that?  Okay, so there’s one budget cut that will never happen.  In a real world, Obama would be tarred and feathered for having no compassion, and there would be cartoons and pictures of huddled masses outside their homes with no heat freezing to death, with frostbite all over their noses and faces and fingers.  President Barack Obama has just suggested cutting aid to people who can’t afford to heat their homes.  “Oh ho- hum, a $300 million budget cut.”  You let George W. Bush try to sneak something like this in one of his budgets?

Okay, so that’s one budget cut that won’t happen.  Are we agreed on this?  It ain’t gonna happen.  Let’s see.  What else is next here?  Uh, let’s see.  Pell Grants.  Yes! We’re going to cut Pell Grants. You know what the Pell Grant is? It’s a college grant. It’s an educational grant to certain qualifiers for certain education aid.  “One hundred billion dollars will be cut over a decade,” that’s $10 billion a year, hee-hee-hee-hee, “from Pell Grants and other higher education programs through belt tightening, the savings used to keep the maximum college financial aid award at $5,550, this according to an administration official who spoke on a condition of anonymity in advance of the budget’s Monday release.”

Do we really believe that once we get down to voting and writing this budget, that education grants, Pell Grants are going to be cut?  No.  We don’t believe it just like we know for a fact that there will be no budget cuts, no… (laughing) We’re not gonna take heating oil money away from the poor.  Just isn’t gonna happen.  “Great Lakes Environmental Restoration Program cut by 25% to save $125 million.”  That might happen if nobody hears about it.  “The budget will propose $1 billion in cuts in grants for large airports, almost $1 billion in reduced support to states for water treatment plants.” Okay, so Oba… (laughing) Obama has proposed cutting clean water, he’s cutting clean air, he’s cutting safe airports, he’s cutting home heating oil, he’s cutting education.  Is any of this going to happen?  By the time this whole thing gets down to brass tacks and we vote on it, are any of these budget cuts going to survive?

Even the Republicans won’t go along with it. They’ll see this as a trap.  If they support it, look what the news will be. “Boehner and Tea Party Support Cutting off Heating Aid for the Poor!”  It will never be mentioned it was Obama’s idea.  Let’s see here. “Other infrastructure programs and savings from consolidating public health programs run by the Centers for Disease Control and various…” Oh!  So we’re gonna cut public health programs, too.  Right.  Okay.  So let’s add it up here.  We’re gonna cut home heating aid.  We’re gonna cut education aid.  We’re gonna cut environmental aid in the Great Lakes.  We’re gonna cut airport aid in the age of terrorism (potential security risks and all that) and we’re gonna cut public health programs under the CDC.  Yeah.  Home heating oil, clean water treatments, college grants, are just gonna sail through Congress.  There you have it.  Obama’s tough budget cuts.  (laughing) (sigh) Even when I get the snarky e-mails, “You just can’t bring yourself to support Obama, can you?”  Well, you know as well as I do, folks, these budget cuts are not gonna happen. (RL)

He’s proposing cuts is every area that his State of Union speech said we had to “invest” (aka spend) in. Curiousier and Curiousier…:)

So we have a political minefield. If you go along with the President’s cuts you will be portrayed as heartless assholes. If you don’t you’re not serious about cuts and have “no alternatives”.

Or if you go even farther than his “cuts” then your just vicious and cruel.

And if you blow off his cuts as meaningless and propose your own, then the media and Democrats will bash you in the media mercilessly.

Because cutting the deficit is not the Democrats plan. That is the smoke only.

It’s just politics. Not reality.

So let’s bring the President’s budget down to earth.

If the budget is 3.7 Trillion and that is 1.1 trillion in the red.

So that’s 2.6 trillion is “within means”.

So let’s say you make $26,000 a year. For the last 3 years you have spent $37,000 per yr and now you have “cut” that to $31,000 a year by “raising revenue” from a better economy.

And as a cost cutting measure you’ll cut $1000 every year for 10 years thus cutting 10,000 out by 2021. (Meaning $30,000 a year for 10 years- which is 1,000 less than previously).

That will most certainly get you out of debt!! 😦

That’s what the Democrats and the President are essentially proposing with their Trillion dollars OVER 10 YEARS crap.

Does this sound like sound economics to you?

Or just word games to trick you into thinking they are “doing something”.

Meanwhile, the Republicans are scared of being demonized, not realizing they will be NO MATTER WHAT!

So they just need to do it. But will they?

Mr. Obama‘s budget projects that 2011 will see the biggest one-year debt jump in history, or nearly $2 trillion, to reach $15.476 trillion by Sept. 30, the end of the fiscal year. That would be 102.6 percent of GDP — the first time since World War II that dubious figure has been reached. (WT)

The plan calls for $8.7 trillion in new spending over the next 10 years, and $46 trillion in total spending.

And the budget projects the government will run a deficit of $1.645 trillion this year, topping 2009’s previous record by more than $230 billion. By contrast, 2007’s deficit was just $160 billion altogether.

Then there’s Obamacare! That “trillion” dollar boondoggle that if it acts like Medicare did it will cost 9 trillion dollars all by itself by 2020.

So by the time that Obama trims his Trillion dollars in 10 years Obamacare will eat up 9 times that!! (and 3 times the entire 2012 budget!!).

But don’t worry, ObamaCare will lower costs, according to the Democrats. They can’t say anything else politically. And the 300+ waiver will just grow.

Makes you hopeful doesn’t it! 😦

Oh, and on page 4 of the president’s budget: Ending the Mortgage Interest Deduction!

“It is not too late to right our ship,” said Rep. Paul Ryan. “If we keep punting like this budget does, there will come a moment when it is too late, and that’s why I’m disappointed.”

And I’m afraid that moment will HAVE TO come before anyone in Washington is truly serious, especially Democrats.

But I suspect even then, the Democrats and their Liberal Media allies will continue their party line and attacks. After, it’s just politics to them. And politics is an all-or-nothing game.

Reality is no game.

The White House pledge to “pay down these debts” is beyond absurd. The expected deficit this year alone — $1.6 trillion — is greater than all the “deficit cuts” Obama has in 10 years.

Obama’s “spending freeze” is likewise a gimmick. In just two years since he took office, discretionary spending has surged 24% — 84% if you count stimulus. “Freezing” spending at this elevated level is little more than numbers legerdemain, a kind of three-card monte played on sucker taxpayers.

Under Obama’s plan, federal tax revenues are forecast to rise from 15% of GDP — their current level — to 20% of GDP, a jump of 33% as a share of the economy. Spending, however, isn’t cut at all; it’s 25% of GDP today, and that’s exactly where it will be in 2020.

Even then, we’ll have a deficit of over $1.2 trillion. Indeed, over the next decade, thanks to persistent red ink, total debt nearly doubles, soaring from $13.5 trillion in 2010 to $26.3 trillion by 2021. At that level, we as a nation become insolvent. (IBD)

And the Democrats don’t care. And the Republicans are afraid to care because the mean, old Liberal Media will make them look bad…

The only question is, will Congress have the guts to pass it? And if so, will American voters be smart enough to embrace it?

“Now we’re faced with taking on something as complex and deeply emotional as entitlements and the president isn’t even in the game, doesn’t even suggest it should be done,” Sen. Jeff Sessions said. (DC)

But they will be on it 24/7 to demonize, shame, and rip you a new one if you dare.

Call out the Tactical Budget/ 2012 Re-election SWAT team!!

The Apple of Capitalism

From TIME Magazine Online:

“Mama,” my young son informed me yesterday, “I know how you can sneak an explosive onto an airplane.”
It was the kind of overconfident declarative that makes a parent sit up and take notice. I did both. “You put it in the front of your underwear,” continued Aviv, who turns 8 this week, “because they don’t touch you there.”

Out of the mouth of Babes! 🙂

Michael Ramirez Cartoon

On those rare occasions when it’s not demonizing businesses as bastions of corporate greed, the White House and all its supporting players spend their time pondering why U.S. businesses, with mountains of cash, won’t use at least some of it to hire workers. A mere 900,000 jobs were created in 2010, while U.S. companies sat on $1.1 trillion in cash.

Last week, President Obama went so far as to meet with 20 CEOs for several hours over this, “asking the attendees to dialogue with him on a shared agenda focused on moving our economy forward,” according to a White House statement.

We don’t have any inside lines as to what was said, but news is trickling out the Obama administration is starting to think about doing something big to end the jobs drought in the U.S.

The something big would be to lower the U.S. corporate tax, which at 35%, stands as the second-highest in the developed world. President Obama only told NPR that he discussed “simplifying the system, hopefully lowering rates, broadening the base.”

If so, and if there are no accompanying sleights of hand to extract cash from businesses some other way, as some reports have it, it’s good news. Nothing inhibits the creation of U.S. jobs quite like high corporate taxes and their accompanying regulatory regime.

The fact is, companies sitting on cash aren’t doing nothing. They’re hiring overseas, creating 1.4 million jobs in 2010 alone, according to the Competitive Enterprise Institute.

That’s not because they prefer foreigners to Americans, but because the bad business climate here pushes them to do so.

High Corporate Taxes. ObamaCare. Financial Regulations to choke you to death. And Unions who want to destroy you rather than work with you.

Yeah, sign me up.

The rest of the world is a vastly different place from Obama’s U.S., which is characterized by high taxes and protectionist set-asides for politically connected unions that shut out free trade.

In places like Indonesia, Singapore, Taiwan, India and Thailand, nobody demonizes business or blasts trade. Instead great efforts are made by the state and the private sector to draw in foreign investment by becoming more competitive than their rivals.

U.S. multinationals go to these places not because labor is cheap but because these policies also create boomtowns with lots of customers. Incredibly enough, sometimes overseas profits and jobs provide a lifeline for troubled U.S. companies back home. Take GM — today, its Brazil and Korea operations help keep it afloat.

Growth in the 8% to 9% range is typical in Asia. But even in other pro-business areas — like the city of Lyon, France, or the manufacturing mecca of Tijuana, Mexico — governments are going out of their way to attract U.S. investment.

In Tijuana’s case, they’ve succeeding despite an ugly drug war.

While high-tax, high-bureaucrat suburbs around Los Angeles draw investment from hot sauce factories and hire unskilled workers, Mexico is drawing aerospace manufacturers and hiring engineers. Colombia, Chile, Brazil, Qatar and even the Republic of Congo are pulling them in, too.

Why? So long as profits are encouraged instead of taxed, the natural outcome is jobs. It’s that simple. They get it. Why don’t we?

Salon magazine noted that as companies shift their hiring overseas, the 1.4 million jobs created there could have, if they were created here, lowered the unemployment rate to 8.9% from 9.8%.

It’s not for nothing that the rescuers of Chile’s trapped miners this year knew the names of all the specialized American manufacturers to call for help. These companies had already been working in Chile because the government made it worth it to do so.

If small, remote countries like Chile can create opportunities for U.S. companies to invest and and hire workers, why can’t we? (IBD)

Because liberals heart-and-soul need for class warfare overrides reason and intellect so they go for the “rich” and for the “greedy” businessman and then wonder why they aren’t just rolling over and playing kissy-kissy with them back.

But there are rumors that Obama may lower the Corporate Tax (the 2nd highest in the world) to stimulate jobs because he is now running for re-election.

But I’m sure the the Left will have a major coronary and hissy-fit if he does. So it will probably be loaded down with Agenda Pork and go nowhere if he even has the guts to propose it.

But the Class Warfare of Business vs “worker” is at the heart of Liberalism so they can’t just forgive one of their fundamental beliefs and fundamental political strategies.

Nothing is easier for politicians than to play Santa Claus by promising benefits without mentioning the costs — or lying about the costs and leaving it to future governments to figure out what to do when the money runs out.

Or demonizing business then simultaneously turning around two-faced and demonize them for not wanting to do business with them.

It’s all politics. And it’s all for the benefit of the politicians and their “base”.

No one else.

Liberals never tire of discussing their own generosity, particularly when demanding that the government take your money by force to fund shiftless government employees overseeing counterproductive government programs.

They seem to have replaced “God” with “Government” in scriptural phrases such as “love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.” (Matthew 22:37)–Ann Coulter

And Business, to Liberals, is the snake in the Garden of Eden, tempting you to ruin with the Apple of Capitalism!

You must Resist the Temptation! 🙂

The Fundamentals of Nov 2nd, 2010

Newsweek’s Ben Adler was aghast at the clause in the GOP’s Pledge to America that Republicans will provide a “citation of constitutional authority” for every proposed piece of legislation. “We have a mechanism for assessing the constitutionality of legislation, which is the independent judiciary,” Adler wrote. “An extraconstitutional attempt to limit the powers of Congress is dangerous even as a mere suggestion, and it constitutes an encroachment on the judiciary.”

A progressive blogger, meanwhile, writes in U.S. News & World Report that such talk of requiring constitutionality is “just plain wacky.”

Before we get to the historical niceties, a question:

Does anyone, anywhere, think legislators should vote for legislation they think is unconstitutional? Anyone? Anyone?

How about presidents? Should they sign such legislation into law?

Yet, according to this creepy logic, there’s no reason for congressmen to pass, obey or even consider the supreme law of the land. Re-impose slavery? Sure! Let’s see if we can catch the Supreme Court asleep at the switch. Nationalize the TV stations? Establish a king? Kill every first-born child? Why not? It ain’t unconstitutional until the Supreme Court says so!

Nationalize Health Care, sure, why not. Mandate that all citizens will have health care or else they will pay a fine (that is actually a tax but we don’t call it that except in court when we have to) or possibly go to jail.

Yeah, that’s the ticket!

Mandate that Companies must provide Health care or pay a fine (that is actually a tax but we don’t call it that except in court when we have to).

Whoops!, sorry the Democrats ALREADY DID THAT. 🙂

And of course, that means the president can’t veto legislation because it’s unconstitutional, because that’s apparently not his job. Wouldn’t want to “encroach” on the judiciary!

Especially, the judiciary we’ve been packing with Liberals for a generation or two.

Like suing a State of The Union, Arizona.

Get a Liberal judge to rule that if we want to ignore Border Security you can’t do anything about it! :)~  <sticks tongue out>

Oh, and you’re a “racist” if you disagree with us. 🙂

Of course, reasonable people understand how absurd all of this is.

There’s nothing in the Constitution — nothing! — that says the Supreme Court is the final or sole arbiter of what is or is not constitutional.

But for Liberals, let’s just pass whatever the hell we want, when we want it, and if we can get a Liberal enough judge to agree we can do it, Go for it!

Nor is there anything in Marbury v. Madison, the Supreme Court case that famously established judicial review. Nor is there in Cooper v. Aaron, the 1958 case in which the court ruled that its findings are the law of the land.

George Washington vetoed an apportionment bill in 1792 because it was unconstitutional. What was he thinking? If only he had a Ben Adler around to tell him what a fool he was.

Andrew Jackson vetoed the reauthorization of the national bank in 1832 because he believed it was unconstitutional. He added at the time that, “It is as much the duty of the House of Representatives, of the Senate, and of the President to decide upon the constitutionality of any bill or resolution which may be presented to them for passage or approval as it is of the supreme judges when it may be brought before them for judicial decision.”

“Even the Supreme Court has never claimed that it is the only branch with the power or duty to interpret the Constitution,” says Jeff Sikkenga, a constitutional historian at Ashland University’s Ashbrook Center. “In fact, it has said that certain constitutional questions like war and peace are left to the political branches to decide.”

The debate over whether the courts are the final word on the Constitution is more than 200 years old. The debate over whether they are the sole arbiter of constitutionality is extremely recent and extremely silly.

But it’s also necessary because too many politicians — in both parties — have abdicated their most solemn duty: to support and defend the U.S. Constitution. George W. Bush signed campaign finance reform even though he thought much of it was unconstitutional. Nancy Pelosi thinks the Constitution has as much relevance as a pet rock. When asked if the health-care bill was Constitutional, her perpetually wide-open eyes grew perceptibly wider as she incredulously asked, “Are you serious?”

The real issue is quite simple. If more politicians were faithful to the Constitution, the government would be restrained. And restraining government is “weird,” “wacky” and “dangerous” to so many liberals today. (Jonah Goldberg).

And people who propose it, The Tea Party Movement, are “racists”, “stupid”, “morons” ,”idiots” ,”dumb”,”ignorant”,”fools”.

Fascinating. 🙂

A Reminder:

Unless something totally unforeseen occurs, Democrats are poised to take a real beating in November. Their response to the impending disaster has run the gamut. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi is in denial: “One thing I know for sure is that Democrats will retain their majority in the House of Representatives.” Massachusetts Senator John Kerry is condescending: “We have an electorate that doesn’t always pay that much attention to what’s going on, so people are influenced by a simple slogan rather than the facts or the truth or what’s happening.” President Obama is angry: “It is inexcusable for any Democrat or progressive right now to stand on the sidelines in this midterm election.” Why is the electorate ready to kick Democrats to the curb? Here’s why:

* An “unstimulated” economy. The original Mother of All Stimulus packages, $787 billion dollars, quickly grew to an astounding $865 billion. It wasn’t enough. Congress pumped out another $26 billion in “supplemental” stimulus in August. The results? Unemployment in the private sector remains well above the eight percent Democrats promised, even as public sector workers who support Democrats were rewarded; our Democratically-controlled Congress has amassed more debt in the last four years than nearly the previous two hundred and thirty combined; the Keynesian economic model Democrats stand by is a colossal failure; the Summer of Recovery was a propaganda fiasco.

* The health care bill. The absolute epitome of ideological, public-be-damned arrogance. A horrendous compendium of bribes, exploding bureaucracy, runaway costs, written in secret and unread by those who passed it. It includes a mandate, likely un-Constitutional, forcing people to buy health insurance or pay a fine. The same administration which originally claimed the commerce clause of the Constitution made such a fine possible is now saying that the federal governments’s “power to tax” justifies it. Irrelevant. 60% of Americans want this monstrosity repealed, ASAP.

* The federal lawsuit against the state of Arizona. Again, it’s the arrogance, stupid. Despite all the hectoring from Democrats and the Obama administration about racist this, and xenophobic that, fair-minded Americans recognized four things: people have a right to protect their life and property, and if the federal government can’t or won’t do it, they have a right to do it themselves; the idea that anyone opposing the “rights” of illegal aliens is a bigot is nonsense on stilts; the ruling class in Washington, D.C. is holding genuine border control hostage to “comprehensive reform;” the glaring double-standard of suing Arizona for violating federal immigration statues, even as the feds turn a blind eye to hundreds of “sanctuary cities” with illegal protection directives unquestionably in conflict with federal law.

* The demonization of the Tea Party movement. Take your pick: teabaggers, racists, angry white men, fringe elements, bigots, Astro-turfers, etc. etc. Democrats and the media have tried every one, and every one has been a miserable failure for one overwhelmingly simple reason: decent Americans know they’re decent, and getting insulted by Democrats running the country into the ground has only stiffened their resolve. Progressives want to demonize people who believe in smaller government, fiscal responsibility and a desire to return to Constitutional principles? Why not attack people who believe in guns, and religion too? Oh wait. The president already did that as well.

* A hopelessly compromised media. Air America tanked, CNN is tanking, and ABC, NBC and CBS news programs have been shedding viewers at historically unprecedented rates—even as Fox and the Wall Street Journal prosper. Americans don’t mind people in the media expressing their opinions, as long as they’re characterized as opinions, but they seethe when such opinions are portrayed as “hard news.” They get even angrier when certain stories are “omitted” by those same organizations, especially when Americans recognize such omissions are calculated to protect the progressive agenda. I wonder if it occurs to either Democrats or their media water-carriers that a majority Americans may savor whacking both groups in November. Depressed looks on the faces of Nancy Pelosi and Katie Couric? In theater circles, that’s known as a “two-fer.”

* The Ground Zero mosque. Yet another reminder of the contempt progressives and their media enablers have for ordinary Americans who had the “temerity” to allow their feelings to be known. Despite every attempt to characterize these Americans as Islamo-phobic bigots, the public wasn’t buying, again for one overwhelmingly simple reason: decent Americans once again demonstrated their decency by separating the legality of the project from the appropriateness of it.

* The complete disconnect between the First Family and ordinary Americans. The golfing, the soirees, and the high-priced vacations have created the perception that we are living through another “let them eat cake” moment in history. On Tuesday, the president called the public schools in Washington, D.C. a “‘struggling’ system that doesn’t measure up to the needs of first daughters, Sasha and Malia.” Those would be the same public schools Congressional Democrats tossed 3,300 low-income kids back into when they killed funding for vouchers that had freed those kids from D.C.’s educational ghetto. The First Lady is hectoring Americans to eat healthier. Perhaps more Americans would if they could afford to: the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) stated in their Producer Price Index that the price of food increased 2.4% for March 2010. That’s the biggest increase in almost 30 years.

* The war on terror. A politically correct contingency operation against unnamed insurgents with a specific draw-down date? Democrats once again prove that all the talk about Afghanistan being the “good war” was complete rubbish. They want out, and victory—along with the heroic efforts of our men and women in harm’s way—be damned. Once again: has America ever fought another war where they knew the exact location of the enemy, had the ability to inflict possibly irreparable damage on them—and decided to split the difference instead? If you answered “Vietnam,” another progressively-instigated catastrophe resulting in the deaths of fifty-eight thousand American soldiers and three million innocent Asians, go to the head of the class. And when is that civilian trial of the 9/11 perpetrators scheduled to begin?

* Czars and nationalization. The Obama administration and Congressional Democrats may bristle when Americans call them socialists, but the nationalization of banks, car and insurance companies, student loans and healthcare sure isn’t free-market capitalism. Neither is wiping out oil jobs in Louisiana with a government-mandated ban on offshore drilling—after the feds completely bungled their role in cleaning up the spill which engendered it. Unelected czars who answer to no one but the president, along with out-of-control government agencies such as the EPA have made it clear to many Americans that this administration often considers Congress a completely unnecessary component of governance, especially if they don’t kowtow to the president’s agenda.

* “Unexceptional” America. Progressive contempt for the values and traditions which make this the greatest country on earth can no longer be disguised. An American president who “believe(s) in American exceptionalism, just as I suspect that the Brits believe in British exceptionalism and the Greeks believe in Greek exceptionalism” has made it plain that this is not a great nation which needs tweaking, but a fundamentally flawed one needing a complete progressive make-over. Once one understands this basic premise, everything this administration and Democratically-controlled Congress does makes sense. All of it centers around the ridiculous premise that America owes the world an apology for any number of shortcomings, many of which can only be alleviated by government-mandated “social justice.” That would be the same social justice which demanded—and still demands—that Americans manifestly unqualified to own homes be given mortgages, regardless.

Unknown to the majority of Americans, this precise mindset was part of the financial “reform” bill which also requires banks to lend a certain percentage of capital to minority-owned businesses, even if it means lowering their lending standards. Apparently progressives won’t be satisfied with their odious social-engineering schemes until every sector of the American economy bears a striking resemblance to the housing sector. So far, Americans support financial reform because it’s been framed as “Main Street versus “Wall Street.” It’s not. Like every other initiative undertaken by this Congress and this administration, it’s the elevation of irresponsible and dishonest Americans over those willing to accept the consequences of their own behavior.

There you have it. Democratic control for four years in Congress, and two in the White House has been exactly what many predicted: an ideologically-driven disaster of epic proportions. For years, progressives obfuscated their true intentions, because even they knew most Americans couldn’t stomach them. The elections of 2006 and 2008 changed everything. Progressives bought into their own hype, believing they had pulled off a multi-generational transformation of the American mindset. As a result, they showed Americans their true colors: unbridled arrogance, utter contempt for the average citizen’s intellect, and a ham-fisted, never let a crisis go to waste determination to bend the electorate to their will, using government as a club.

That’s why they’re going down in November. And the most satisfying aspect of the whole scenario is this: despite every attempt they’ve made to blame anyone and everyone else for their problems, they brought it on themselves. (Arnold Ahlert)

And don’t forget the LARGEST TAX INCREASE IN AMERICAN HISTORY during a recession (or “jobless recovery”) that Congress was too chicken to vote on stopping.

But don’t worry, it’s all those damn Republican’s fault!!

And George W. Bush.

The Banks.

CEOs

Corporate America.

Wall Street.

Teabaggers.

The Right Wingers.

Christians.

Did I leave anyone out?

Oh, yeah, DEMOCRATS! 🙂

The 4th Precept

We all should be familiar with Orwell’s 3 main Thought control precepts as put forward in in his book, 1984.

If you have never read it. Do so. Immediately.

It can change your life. I know it did mine.

But those precepts used by the Ministry of Truth were:

“”War is Peace”

“Freedom is Slavery”

“Ignorance is Strength”

And I think the Democrats and especially Obama have come up with a new one.

FEAR IS HOPE

Because they are constantly talking about hope. But all they do is spread fear.

So Fear must therefore be Hope. 🙂

“He who controls the present, controls the past. He who controls the past, controls the future.”-Orwell.

And since the liberals view of the past decade is one of total evil and you should fear that evil coming back, and you should have hope for a brighter, more vibrant America than letting that evil back in, Fear is Hope.

“During times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act”-Orwell

And there can’t be more deceit going on now than in recent memory.

“It’s still fear versus hope; the past versus the future,” Obama said from Cleveland, Ohio Sept 8th, “It’s still a choice between sliding backward and moving forward.  That’s what this election is about.  That’s the choice you’ll face in November.”

“There were no new ideas.  There was just the same philosophy we already tried for the last decade – the same philosophy that led to this mess in the first place.”

The Republican way for 2010 is through FEAR. Fear of African-Americans (especially President Obama), immigrants, health care, credit card reform, bank reform and Muslims, and the complete untruth that oil shortage and jobs will never come to the U.S. unless the wealthiest 2% of Americans get tax cuts.

“Now Republicans are scheming to win back Congress. With a majority, they’ll do everything they can to reverse the progress Democrats have made. They’ll turn back the clock on behalf of their special interest friends, their big donors, and the extreme right-wing elements that have taken over their party”.–DNC Chair Tim Kaine

Let’s ignore all the bailouts for their special interests: Unions and their biggest donors,: Unions and Trial Lawyers.

97% of SEIU (a government service union) political contributions went to Democrats. The Union President is the person who has visited the Obama White House more than any other person so far. Hmm…

Let’s just ignore the whole “Community Reinvestment Act”, Barney Frank & Chris Dodd passing legislation to force banks to lend, Fannie and Freddie meltdown that continue to this day because it and now $4 Trillion dollars more debt than when Bush was in office.

Hope for a better future. Fear anyone who disagrees with us.

“So let me be clear to Mr. Boehner and everyone else:  we should not hold middle class tax cuts hostage any longer.  We are ready, this week, to give tax cuts to every American making $250,000 or less,”

So that’s why I’m in favor of not extending the Bush Tax cuts so EVERYONE’s taxes GO UP! 😦

Obama said, “Now for any income over this amount, the tax rates would go back to what they were under President Clinton.  This isn’t to punish folks who are better off. God Bless them. It’s because we can’t afford the $700 billion price tag.”

But we could afford the Trillion Dollar Stimulus, Nationalizing Health Care, Massive new regulation and taxes on businesses, Bailouts of GM, Banks, Unions, Teachers, Government Pensions, States and now Stimulus III the stimulus-you-better-not-call-a-stimulus!

We can spend for that to the tune of more spending in the last 20 months than from George Washington to Ronald Reagan!!

That’s fine.

But FEAR the return of the Bush policies that destroyed us (which they didn’t-it was the democrats 1990’s ideas that slowly crashed the engine of this country but ignore that)!

Hope lays in the Democrats and only the Democrats. We will save you!

FEAR IS HOPE

Obama said of the Republicans of yesteryear, “They didn’t always prey on people’s fears and anxieties (Democrats never do that 🙂 ). They made mistakes, but they did what they thought was in the best interest of their country and its people (and so did the Democrats and the Community Re-investment Act where everyone is entitled to a home).  That’s what the American people expect of us today – Democrats, Independents, and Republicans.  That’s the debate they deserve.  That’s the leadership we owe them.” (so that’s why he divide everyone on everything).

HAIL BIG BROTHER!  FEAR IS HOPE!

HOPE AND CHANGE! 🙂

“Yes, our families believed in the American values of self-reliance and individual responsibility, and they instilled those values in their children.  But they also believed in a country that rewards responsibility.”

But it was all George Bush and The Republican’s Fault!!

And if you elect them in November they’ll do it to you again! 🙂

FEAR IS HOPE!

The fear of uncertainty that pervades the business world is palatable. What will the Democrats do now to crush business and evil corporate america.

But have have hope that more spending (on stimulus not on tax cuts) will save you from the evils of corporate america.

FEAR IS HOPE

“Anyone who thinks we can move this economy forward with a few doing well at the top, hoping it’ll trickle down to working folks running faster and faster just to keep up—they just haven’t studied our history.”

“He who controls the present, controls the past. He who controls the past, controls the future.”-Orwell.

Trickle up poverty and crushing everyone is much better. It gives you hope.

You can hope that the government will save you and fear your boss.

FEAR IS HOPE!

“If we’re willing again to choose hope over fear, to choose the future over the past, to come together once more around the great project of national renewal, then we will restore our economy, rebuild our middle class and reclaim the American dream for the next generation,” he said, striking the revival-like cadences that buoyed his presidential bid.

It’s just no one is fainting in the audience anymore, overcome by the shear wonder of of his greatness!

He’s Hope.

They are are Fear!

FEAR IS HOPE

He hit Republicans hard for opposing the administration’s economic plan.

“Instead of setting our sights higher, they’re asking us to settle for a status quo of stagnant growth, eroding competitiveness and a shrinking middle class,” Mr. Obama said.

None of which is his fault or the fault of Democrats, mind you. They are simply trying to clean up the mess. 🙂

FEAR IS HOPE

HOPE IS FEAR

FEAR IS HOPE

The LA Times  proudly proclaims, “Obama blasts continued tax cuts for the rich!” But every time you hear leftists refer to “the rich,” remember that “the rich” are also known by these other terms: employers, investors, the self-reliant, self-starters.

Attacking “the rich” is a direct assault on the people who invest and employ. Hate the rich if you must, but don’t force them into poverty or offshore solutions. If you hope to bankrupt the rich, you have only seen the beginning of the economic collapse to come. (American Thinker)

Oh, and ignore that the richest member of Congress are largely Democrats. And that most of Congress regardless og party are “the rich” by liberal definitions. 🙂

But Class Warfare is easy.

And giving people hope that the government will right the wrong is good.

Fear anyone who doesn’t want to do that.

FEAR IS HOPE

As it is, Obama’s economic plan has a once-great nation so debt-strapped that nobody in the world wants to buy our debt anymore. In Obama’s voodoo bag of economic tricks, there is no next trick. Obama has pretty much guaranteed every American a soup-line existence in his or her near future.

And even Hillary who is now running for President said it.

HILLARY:  I think that our rising debt levels poses a national security threat, and it poses a national security threat in two ways.  It undermines our capacity to act in our own interests, and it does constrain us where constraint may be undesirable, and it also sends a message of weakness internationally.  I mean it is very troubling to me that we are losing the ability, not only to chart our own destiny, but to, you know, have the leverage that comes from this enormously affected economic engine that has powered American values and interests over so many years.

But the government is  your only hope.

You can’t possibly do it without us.

So when the people themselves rise up against the Your Saviors, the Democrats, you must fear them.

So Democrats have turned to a strategy that may be their next best bet: demonization of the “insurgent” Tea Party.

“These are not your run-of-the-mill Republicans we’re talking about here,” said one Democratic organizer working in a state with a contested Senate race this fall. “When you actually start telling voters what these candidates are about, it scares the hell out of them.”

“The argument that we’ve made is that the Republican Party has been taken over by the Tea Party,” Democratic National Committee (DNC) spokeswoman Hari Sevugan said.

“I think we’ve got some folk — Tea Party folk, Republicans — who are out of sync with the average American. And most Americans are in the middle,” said Rep. Cummings (D-MD).

The Republicans are to be feared.

The Tea party has “taken over” the Republicans.

They are extremists. We aren’t 🙂

So the Tea Party must be feared.

So, the hope of saving you from this fear is The Democrats!

FEAR IS HOPE

“It’s a race between Democrats and the Republican Tea Party,” VP Biden said.

The Tea Party is full of racists and bigots and extremists. Fear them!

SPLC (Southern Poverty Law Center, a very liberal group) also sees a connection between the “paranoid” anti-government ideas espoused by extremist militias, racist skinheads, and the ideas espoused by prominent Tea Partiers.

CNN worried that the “dangerous rhetoric” of Tea Party activists may be “inciting violence” against lawmakers.

Not too long ago, taking to the streets to protest your government was considered a patriotic act as long as you were against Bush or Republicans.

But now it’s to be feared.

Why, because those protesters are now in power and they don’t want to be protested against. Simple.

“These disruptions are occurring because opponents are afraid not just of differing views — but of the facts themselves. Drowning out opposing views is simply un-American,”

Republican or Democrat? Tea party or Union Member?

Try Nancy Pelosi on the protests against the Health care bill.

So drowning out their views is un-american, but when they shout you down it’s patriotic.

Orwell would be proud.

FEAR IS HOPE

And finally, The Mosque issue.

Where you’re a racist if you oppose them.

You’re a bigot.

Because all they want to do is “build bridges” “tolerance” and bring hope of muslim acceptance.

But it hasn’t worked. So it’s time for fear.

CNN: “If we move from that location, the story will be the radicals have taken over the discourse, the headlines in the Muslim world will be that Islam is under attack. Our national security now hinges on how we negotiate this, how we speak about it. The battlefront is between moderates of all sides… and the radicals on all sides.”

Moving the project to another location would strengthen Islamist radicals’ ability to recruit followers and will likely increase violence against Americans, the imam said.”— Iman Faisal Abdul Rauf earlier this week.

So if you don’t build it they will attack!!

If you oppose it you’re a racist and a bigot!

But if they build it. Peace and Harmony and understanding and love will love like water.

FEAR IS HOPE
