The Twinkie Clue Game

Thomas Purcell: As the fictional Senator Smith once said ‘Well, you all think I’m licked. Well I’m not licked.  I’m going to stay right here and fight for this lost cause, even if this room gets filled with lies like these! When the Taylors and all their armies come marching into this place, somebody’ll listen to me”

That’s right, the conservatives need to hunker down and look themselves in the mirror and start bringing up candidates that can properly defend the American ideal of a smaller government, free markets and a strong defense. They need to bring that argument to the American people again and again and pound it home, and realize that you’ll never do it with candidates like Mitt Romney; you do it with candidates like Ronald Reagan. The American ideal of conservatism can’t be sold and packaged out of a corporate boardroom with slick ads and jingles; it has to explain in simple terms and by giving Americans reasonable explanations and facts.
It’s not about moving to the right or the left, it’s about truth. It means we need to reach out to minorities and not say ‘you are wrong’, it means you say ‘here’s why we are right’. It’s about fighting the good fight with people who believe in the cause of minimal government, not wealthy industrialists who see to increase profits at the expense of ideology.
The Republican Party needs to change; it needs to find itself and the roots of what they believe in. It needs to get off the mantra of appealing to special interests, from the religious right to the boardroom babies. You won’t find that ideology or those persons in the Rockefeller Republicans, it’s got to come from the Goldwater and Reagan crowd. It comes from unifying the party factions from the Federal Bank Paulites to the pro-marijuana Libertarians to the hawkish maverick McCain’s.
Getting back to the roots of conservatism means it hat to start at the bottom, like the liberals did. You have to run for the school boards and local councils before you run for President. Real societal change comes from these places—you can’t hope to win a Republican Presidency if the man in the street has been taught to hate what he stands for. The liberals did not sell their bill of goods with Obama with one election, it was 25 years in the making.
I will fight as I know how best to—with my heart and mind and conviction, on one simple fact and basic message of conservatism: That government that governs least governs best, and that all power eventually corrupts those that wield it.
I’m not going anywhere; I’m going to get louder. I’m going to fight leftism in the schools, the radio, and the papers. I’ll fight them on the beaches, in the mountains and in the halls of state houses. I’ll fight them with blood, bone and sinew. I’ll fight them until the last breath; the last ounce of strength escapes me, until government silences me by smothering me with the pillow of Obamacare. You want to roll over and just die, be my guest. Not me, I’m not quitting. I refuse to accept that people want to live in a leftist police state; not when I know they merely have been fooled into thinking that government is the fountain of all that is good.
I plan to be the iron bar of conservatism, till death do my part, and only until the rest of this strange and wonderful country starts thinking that way, will things ever change for the better.
Smith had it right-  “And in this world today, full of hatred, a man who knows that one rule has a great trust… you know that you fight for the lost causes harder than for any others. Yes, you even die for them”
So go ahead and make your deals Mr. Boehner. The left can continue to spread its vile lies that government knows best.
I’m not going anywhere. Neither is conservatism. Eventually, somebody’ll listen. Hopefully it won’t be too late by then.
But I doubt it.
Why?
Simple. Listen to what Richard “I’m not a Psycho” Trumpka of the AFL-CIO had to say about the liquidation of Hostess Brands on Friday…
“What’s happening with Hostess Brands is a microcosm of what’s wrong with America, as Bain-style Wall Street vultures make themselves rich by making America poor,” Trumka said in a public statement. “Crony capitalism and consistently poor management drove Hostess into the ground, but its workers are paying the price.”

He’s either completely dishonest, disillusion or insanely partisan to the point of Orwellian deceit.
And thats the Left for you.
After all, how many Crony capitalist failures in “green” energy have they had? Or Union Bailouts? and no one cares about them at all??
And that’s the din we have to shout against.
I don’t think the Republicans have the balls for it.

Last week, thousands of Hostess union member employees went on strike because of cut wages and benefits, The Associated Press reported Friday.

Hostess has said the company was unprofitable, in part due to union workers’ demands. (The workers who went on strike were members of the Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers International Union.)

Conservative commentator Rush Limbaugh fired back at Trumka on his radio program Friday.

“[Obama] gets to blame Romney, Bain Capital and the Republicans for the fact that the company’s failed. And at the same time he gets to blame capitalism, crony capitalism. That’s Trumka’s word here. Crony capitalism, Bain-style, Wall Street vultures,” Limbaugh said, according to a show transcript. “See, you and I, we sit here, we hear that, we say nobody is gonna believe that, until we stop and realize that over half the country already thinks it.”

Limbaugh said that Trumka was rehashing the same old attacks that unions and the left have used against Romney, fitting a story line most of the public is already familiar with.

“Trumka didn’t have to even tell his voters, they already know. He was just confirming it for ‘em. Al-Qaeda’s alive, Twinkies are dead,” Limbaugh said.

The kicker?

“But Osama was killed by Obama, and Hostess was killed by the Republicans,” Limbaugh said. (Politico)

So if the Republicans roll over and kiss Liberal ass they will weaken themselves and if they stay strong, EVERYTHING that the left does to destroy this country will be their fault. (and if they weaken themselves EVERYTHING will still be their fault but they’re will evidence to point to just like the Debt Ceiling Cave-in.)
And ONLY the Republicans will be “partisan” and “divisive” and “obstructionist”.
That’s why this election was the end of America.
Simple as that.
It was a Twinkie in Texas with a Ministry of Truth sledgehammer…

The New Red Menace

Michael Ramirez Cartoon

A new study suggests that President Obama’s campaign systematically pursued foreign contributions to fuel his run for the presidency, a violation of law. Is America’s democracy now for sale to the highest bidder?

The Government Accountability Institute, which is headed by Stanford University Professor Peter Schweizer, used sophisticated Internet investigative tools — including something called “spidering” software — to determine how the web is being used to raise political funds.

What it found should be of concern, since it suggests that many in Congress and, more importantly, the Obama campaign have systematically exploited loopholes in the law to raise millions of dollars overseas — a big chunk of it in the People’s Republic of China.

How is this done? Through the mundane use of what’s called in the credit-card world the Card Verification Value, or CVV. It’s the three-digit number on the back of a card that helps positively identify that the person using the card has it in his or her possession. It’s a key anti-fraud weapon, used by nearly all legitimate e-commerce businesses and charities.

Obama’s campaign doesn’t use it. Mitt Romney’s does. So why the particular concern over Obama?

As the report notes, letting a flood of money into the political system with no verification of its source is an invitation to fraud — especially from overseas.

The end justifies the means. Win at any cost. Lying and Cheating are good as long as you don’t get caught, then it’s someone’s fault anyhow. So go for it!
So how much of that “record” $181 million Obama touts from September was legitimate? And do they care?
No, they don’t.
They have to have as much money as possible to spread as much poison as possible.
The Nuke Romney until he glows stategy of Vote for me Romney’s a Nuclear Slag Pile of Shit will only work with lots of money for lots of scurrilous and defamatory lying attack ads.
So they need as much money as they can get their hands on, Legal or not. Who cares.
It’s about winning, it’s not about legality, or morality. Hell no!
Under federal election law, contributions from foreign sources are prohibited. But the law also doesn’t require a campaign to disclose the source of contributions less than $200, and it doesn’t even have to keep records for those giving less than $50.

In September, for instance, Obama’s campaign announced it had raised $181 million. But if you’re looking for transparency, you won’t find it: Just 2% of that amount — $3.6 million — has to be reported to the FEC.

In 2008, Robert Roche, a U.S. businessman based in Shanghai with extensive commercial ties to the Chinese government, bought the website Obama.com.

Roche, a big-time bundler for Obama, was given a place of honor at the head table with Obama and first lady Michelle Obama at a 2011 state dinner for Chinese President Hu Jintao. Nothing illegal about that.

It’s not clear Roche still even owns Obama.com. But this year, suspiciously, the site began sending visitors to the Obama campaign’s donation page on the Web. Some 68% of Obama.com’s visitors are foreign.

Similarly, the Obama re-election campaign itself seems to be encouraging illegal foreign contributions.

Its social media website, my.barackobama.com, gets about 20% of its visitors from foreign locations. Anyone who uses the website, says the GAI, “immediately begins receiving solicitations for donations.”

However, “At no point … is a visitor asked whether he or she can legally donate to a U.S. election,” it notes.

The revelation is troubling, since China’s government has a history of trying to manipulate U.S. politicians, especially — but not exclusively — Democrats.

In 1996, Chinese agent Johnny Chung gave almost $100,000 to American politicians, much of it from powerful members of China’s military. Chung reportedly gave $300,000 to President Clinton’s campaign.

The Justice Department in 1997 launched two investigations of reported attempts of high-level Chinese officials to “buy influence” with U.S. politicians, especially the Democratic National Committee.
(and we know THIS Justice Department is not overly political and can do it’s job without ideological or partisan concerns) 🙂

With the Internet, China seems to have found a road to political clout bigger than an eight-lane highway.

Under the current president, the U.S. has largely ceded control of the Western Pacific to China and let that nation’s massive military buildup go unchallenged. Meanwhile, until recently, Obama soft-pedaled even the mildest criticisms of China’s economic policies.

But then, why bite the hand that feeds you?

But I’m sure it’s BAIN’s fault. 🙂

Reality Bites

Had an interesting but short (because of time) conversation between me (right of center) another friend (somewhat left of center) and someone who is just left, not extreme left (but Obama bumper sticker left).

The one thing we could all agree on was that if we could replace EVERYONE in Congress we’d do it, in a heart beat.

Fascinating.

But that’s not the issue. And the Democrats are not running on the issue anyhow.

Democratic Gov. Martin O’Malley of Maryland, who is considered a possible contender for president in 2016, bucked other Obama surrogates on Sunday, saying that the country was not better off now than it was four years ago.

On CBS’s Face the Nation, host Bob Schieffer asked: “Can you honestly say that people are better off today than they were four years ago?”

Responded O’Malley: “No, but that’s not the question of this election. The question, without a doubt, we are not as well off as we were before George Bush brought us the Bush job losses, the Bush recession, the Bush deficits, the series of desert wars — charged for the first time to credit cards, the national credit card.”

Quipped Schieffer: “George Bush is not on the ballots.”  (NJ)

But he  is for Democrats.

For Democrats it’s Bush/Ayn Rand Vs. The Greatest Most Caring, Most Compassionate, Greatest Dad,Killer of Bin Laden Bad ass, Black Man Ever! and…joe biden (small letters intentional).

They are the voice of reason against the insane on the right.

Perception is reality. And reality can be rewritten and overridden.

So the fact that they are insane is irrelevant.

Just as Democrats are gaveling in their convention Tuesday, the federal government likely will announce another dubious milestone — $16 trillion in total federal debt.

But don’t worry, that’s Bush’s Fault!!

David Axelrod a top adviser to Mr. Obama, said the president has a “plausible plan” to stabilize the debt, but acknowledged the plan doesn’t actually begin to reduce it.

“You can’t balance the budget in the short term because to do that would be to ratchet down the economy,” he said.

Antonio Villaraigosa, chairman of the Democratic National Convention says Obama has a plan to cut $4 trillion from the deficit. Obama plans to raise taxes on the wealthiest and cut them for the middle class, he said.
And that the Republicans plans are from “1812”.
Los Angeles has lost close to 140,000 jobs since the 2007 financial crisis. While other cities have rebounded, L.A.’s unemployment rate hovers well above 10% and is on the verge of bankruptcy.
But don’t pay attention to the man behind the curtain.

Though Villaraigosa has been mayor since 2005 and despite spending months on junkets outside of the city, he remains popular with his base coalition of Latinos and wealthy Westside liberals — two groups that deliver votes and seemingly never fall out of love with him.

Maybe that’s key to the high esteem in which he’s held by national Democrats. Like them, Villaraigosa shows little interest in governing — only in political power. And like them, he too is economically incompetent.

Gee, maybe his prominence shouldn’t be puzzling at all. He’s the perfect emblem for the Democrats. (IBD)

The Next Obama, a “clean, articulate black man” (as Biden once said of Obama) and another snake oil salesman for the class warfare age.

Axelrod for his part  called the Republican Convention a failure,“He spoke for 45 minutes and never really offered any real ideas for how to move the economy forward, how to lift the middle class. And in that sense, I think his convention was a terrible failure.”
But all he has is a “plausible plan” and 4 years of crap THAT didn’t work.
But  you aren’t supposed to notice that. You are supposed to focus on how “extreme” the Republicans are and fear what they going to do to you. What the Democrats are going to to is irrelevant.
Vote Democrats because the Republicans are extremist assholes.
Perception is reality. Reality can be overridden.
The Ministry of Truth is involved with news media, entertainment, the fine arts and educational books. Its purpose is to rewrite history and change the facts to fit Party doctrine for propaganda effect. For example, if Big Brother makes a prediction that turns out to be wrong, the employees of the Ministry of Truth go back and rewrite the prediction so that any prediction Big Brother previously made is accurate. This is the “how” of the Ministry of Truth’s existence. Within the novel Orwell elaborates that the deeper reason for its existence is to maintain the illusion that the Party is absolute. It cannot ever seem to change its mind for that would imply weakness and to maintain power the Party must seem eternally right and strong.

And the other guys fault for everything. Even your own mistakes.

They (Republicans) are the extremist who want kick grandma off a cliff, steal candy from babies, hand out wire coat hangers to every woman and crush you so their “rich” friends can party hardy.

The fact that Democrats are MORE extreme is not to be noticed and if it is, squashed by even more extreme fear-mongering by The Ministry of Truth.

That’s reality.

Few people have the imagination for reality.
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

The growth of entitlement payments over the past half-century has been breathtaking. In 1960, U.S. government transfers to individuals totaled about $24 billion in current dollars, according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis. By 2010 that total was almost 100 times as large. Even after adjusting for inflation and population growth, entitlement transfers to individuals have grown 727% over the past half-century, rising at an average rate of about 4% a year.

In 2010 alone, government at all levels oversaw a transfer of over $2.2 trillion in money, goods and services. The burden of these entitlements came to slightly more than $7,200 for every person in America. Scaled against a notional family of four, the average entitlements burden for that year alone approached $29,000.

What happened to the days of limited government? Wasn’t the American government founded on the idea of governing the people, not stepping into their lives every day to provide them with handouts? Since when was the major job of the federal government to protect, manage and finance the entitlement empire?

Of course Medicare is not the only entitlement program, these statistics include Medicaid and Social Security, too. It seems with this development it is likely we will see this become a major point of discussion in the next two months of campaigning. Hopefully the debates will make it easy for both candidates to explain where they see the future of entitlement programs.

It seems that we need to make sure that this is not a trend that continues. With an exponentially growing debt, we can’t possibly continue this kind of spending. Never mind our founding fathers, President Franklin D. Roosevelt would not believe what these programs have become. This was never meant to be part of the federal government’s responsibility. (townhall)

But that’s reality. But doing anything about it is evil, mean, cruel, and heartless. That’s the Democrats created reality.

The reality of more Dependents (Baby boomers) and less producers (their kids and grandkids) is reality. But addressing the issue is throwing grandma off a cliff.

Fascinating how that works. And Fascinating who that reality benefits. 🙂

As Democrats convene in Charlotte this week, they likely will double down on their claim that Bain Capital is really the Bain Crime Family. They will accuse Republican nominee Mitt Romney and Bain’s other “greedy” co-founders of stealing their profits, evading taxes, and lighting cigars with $100 bills on their yachts.

Bain’s private-equity investments have enriched dozens of organizations and millions of individuals in the Democratic base — including some who scream most loudly for President Obama’s reelection.

Government-employee pension funds are the chief beneficiaries of Bain Capital’s economic stewardship. New York–based Preqin uses public documents, news accounts, and Freedom of Information Act requests to track private-equity holdings. Since 2000, Preqin reports, the following funds have entrusted some $1.56 billion to Bain:

Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund ($2.2 million)
Indiana Public Retirement System ($39.3 million)
Iowa Public Employees’ Retirement System ($177.1 million)
Los Angeles Fire and Police Pension System ($19.5 million)
Maryland State Retirement and Pension System ($117.5 million)
Public Employees’ Retirement System of Nevada ($20.3 million)
State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio ($767.3 million)
Pennsylvania State Employees Retirement System ($231.5 million)
Employees Retirement System of Rhode Island ($25.0 million)
San Diego County Employees Retirement Association ($23.5 million)
Teacher Retirement System of Texas ($122.5 million)
Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System ($15.0 million)

These pension funds aggregate the savings of millions of unionized teachers, social workers, public-health personnel, and first responders. Many of them would be startled to learn that their nest eggs, or even their current pensions, are incubated by the company that Romney launched and the financiers whom he hired.

Major universities have profited from Bain’s expertise. According to Infrastructure Investor, Bain Capital Ventures Fund I (launched in 2001) managed wealth for “endowments and foundations such as Columbia, Princeton, and Yale universities.” The Wall Street Journal’s James Freeman noted on July 18 that Harvard “has also invested with Bain.” Thus, Michelle and Barack Obama’s undergraduate campuses (Princeton and Columbia, respectively) and the university where they earned their law degrees (Harvard) all have enjoyed Bain Capital’s financial prowess.

According to BuyOuts magazine and S&P Capital IQ, Bain’s other college clients have included Cornell, Emory, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Notre Dame, and the University of Pittsburgh. Preqin reports that the following schools have placed at least $424.6 million with Bain Capital between 1998 and 2008:

Purdue University ($15.9 million)
University of California ($225.7 million)
University of Michigan ($130 million)
University of Virginia ($20 million)
University of Washington ($33 million)

Major center-left foundations and cultural establishments also have seen their prospects brighten thanks to Bain Capital. According to the aforementioned sources, such Bain clients have included the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation, the Doris Duke Foundation, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Ford Foundation, the Heinz Endowments, and the Oprah Winfrey Foundation.

Why on earth would government-union leaders, university presidents, and foundation chiefs let a company with Bain Capital’s reputation oversee their precious assets?

“The scrutiny generated by a heated election year matters less than the performance the portfolio generates to the fund,” California State Teachers’ Retirement System spokesman Ricardo Duran recently told the Boston Globe. CalSTRS has pumped some $1.25 billion into Bain. Since 1988, Duran says, private-equity companies such as Bain have outperformed every other asset class to which CalSTRS has allocated the cash of its 856,360 largely unionized members focused on investment performance for all of our commitments, including Bain,” Jodi O’Neill, a spokeswoman for the Indiana Public Retirement System, told Reuters. “Election rhetoric has neither a positive nor negative impact on our assessment of a fund’s performance.”

“These government-union pension funds call the shots,” says my friend Brett A. Shisler, a Manhattan financier and former private-equity executive. “They want Bain to do one thing: make money. They do not evaluate Bain on how many jobs they create or environmentally friendly products they launch. No, they just care about money. If Team Obama is concerned about ‘greed,’ they should not blame private equity. They should blame the pension funds. What they demand is a far cry from conscious capitalism.”

So, what really is Bain’s reputation? Is it a gang of corporate buccaneers who plundered their ill-gotten gains by outsourcing, euthanizing feeble portfolio companies, and giving cancer to the spouses of those whom they fired? If so, union bosses, government retirees, liberal foundations, and elite universities — including the Obamas’ — thrive on the wages of Bain’s economic Darwinism.

If, however, these institutions relish the yields that Bain Capital generates by supporting start-ups and rescuing distressed companies, 80 percent of which have prospered, then this money is honest — and Team Obama isn’t.(NRO)

So don’t do as I do, do as I say. And I say Reality is what we say it is. Not what it really is. And if you disagree, well, you’re just a dumb, racist, greedy white guy who cares what you think!

A Care Package from the Left

Michael Ramirez Cartoon

I was watching the coverage on the non-liberal media of the “Cancer Ad” controversy where the Left blatantly lies about Gov. Romney, Bain, and this guy who is using his dead wife for a naked political attack.

It’s all done through a SuperPAC so the White House can say, “Well, we didn’t do it.”

What surprised me was the fact that they still haven’t figured out that the Left is completely without shame, guilt, morals or ethics anymore.

THEY JUST DON’T CARE!

Simple as that. Decry their tactics and their baseless accusations all you want because it certainly won’t stop them from doing it.

They have nearly 3 months to go. They are just getting warmed up!

By November Bain Capital will be the spawn of the Devil and responsible for everything wrong in your life and this country. And the Devil himself, Gov. Romney will be to blame for all of it!

The Left wants him to be so toxic that you either don’t vote at all (which is a vote for them because his zombie minions will come out for Obama no matter what) or you vote for Obama because the other guy is a heartless, mean, cruel asshole!

Meanwhile, all the shit that this President has done will go largely unexamined, especially by the Ministry of Truth.

And in a Second Term it will only get worse.

But at least you didn’t vote for the heartless, cruel, grandma killing, candy from baby stealing, hater of poor people and women, rich asshole! 🙂

TELL A LIE OFTEN ENOUGH IT BECOMES THE TRUTH

And if you have multiple media outlets doing it 24/7…well, you’re in like Flint.

And the Non-Liberals still cling to ideas of morality, ethics, and integrity. The Left does not.

Get over it.

ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION

Here’s a Shocker for you…NOT!

President Barack Obama‘s decision not to deport some arrested illegal immigrants has enabled a crime wave — but no American or immigrant victims have been publicly identified, and GOP politicians have mostly remained mute.

Illegal immigrants who have been released from custody between 2008 and mid-2011 have been charged with 16,226 subsequent crimes, including 19 murders, 142 sex crimes and thousands of drunk-driving offenses, drug-crimes and felonies, according to a new report from the nonpartisan Congressional Research Service.

“Rather than protect the American people he was elected to serve, President Obama has imposed a policy that allows thousands of illegal immigrants to be released into our communities,” said a statement from Rep. Lamar Smith, the chairman of the House judiciary committee.

The criminals “were in the government’s custody, were identified as illegal immigrants and then let go because this administration has refused to request the resources to hold them and deport them,” said Mark Krikorian, executive director of the Center for Immigration Studies.

The White House press office did not respond to The Daily Caller’s questions.

They have NOTHING to fear from Obama AT ALL. They know they can act with impunity. Obama will claim to have “deported more illegals” because that’s the talking point.

And all you need when some mean old racist comes out and asks you why, is to call them just that, a racist. Then trot out some 6 year old “poor” hispanic cherub
who was brought here by her parents and do the “sob” story and make you look like an ass.

It’s the same playbook. The Alinsky Playbook.

“Gov. Romney brags about his private sector experience, but it was mostly invested in companies, some of which were called ‘pioneers of outsourcing,’” Obama said. “I don’t want to be a pioneer of outsourcing. I want to insource.”-Pres. Obama

The FACT that that there has been outsourcing by Obama — Oil jobs to Brazil (owned by George Soros), Stimulus money for a car company that located in Finland, etc. is totally irrelevant.

Tell a Lie often enough, and tell toxic lies often!

Do it early. Do it often!

And let the Ministry of Truth repeat them 24/7.

“I said, I believe in American workers, I believe in this American industry, and now the American auto industry has come roaring back,” he said. “Now I want to do the same thing with manufacturing jobs, not just in the auto industry, but in every industry.”

That has  Union apparatchiks that is. He’s not exactly excited by the Oil, Natural Gas or Coal Industries he’s been attacking. They are evil.

And Yes, the U.S. government will lose money on the auto industry bailout. Around $14 BILLION Dollars. GM has lost money in Europe for a dozen years, and posted a $361 million pretax loss there in the second quarter. A 41% drop in profits.

But the Unions will profit from it and that’s all that matters.

TARP is till owed $100 Million dollars. It went down a rathole and you’ll never see it again.

ObamaCare will cost 3 times as much as “promised” and it’s not even 2014 yet (which means it will skyrocket even more after 2014).

But the Left doesn’t care.

We need more Unions. More Unions means more Union money funneled to Democrats and more Democrats means more Unions. The incestuous cycle can self-perpetuate. To the Left, this is good capitalism.

Anything else is just mean, cruel Capitalism! And we can’t have that!

With CancerGate, Obama and his campaign are indeed saying Romney is evil — then lying about it.

When the brouhaha began this week over the Priorities USA Obama super-PAC ad featuring a laid-off steelworker blaming Romney for his wife’s death from cancer, numerous Obama mouthpieces claimed, as one put it, “we don’t have any knowledge of the story of the family.”

Turns out that the same steelworker had been the star of one of the Obama campaign’s own ads, and took part in a conference call the Obama campaign hosted in May, during which he told the same story of his wife’s cancer.

It also turns out that Romney was no longer heading up Bain Capital when its client, GST Steel, laid off the worker. And the worker’s wife apparently had her own health insurance. So how on earth could Romney be the slightest bit responsible?

On Thursday, Obama campaign spokeswoman Jen Psaki changed her tune. “No one is denying he was in one of our campaign ads,” she said of the steelworker the campaign supposedly knew nothing about.

Liars always weave a tangled web for themselves, but when the presidential campaign of a “nice guy” gets caught coordinating personal, cold-hearted lying, escaping from that web won’t be easy.

With CancerGate, Obama and his campaign are indeed saying Romney is evil — then lying about it.

Unless, you don’t care. And you have a complaint Ministry of Truth that will do your bidding and just add more toxic waste to your opponent.

The Truth is irrelevant.

Understand that, and you understand the Left. In my “racist”, “bigoted”, “mean”, “cruel”, “heartless”,”nasty”, “evil” “ugly partisan” opinion. 🙂

NOVEMBER IS COMING

Political Cartoons by Glenn McCoy

Political Cartoons by Henry Payne

3 Rules

“You know, he left out some facts. His speech was more like a cowpie of distortion,” Obama said to hoots of laughter from a crowd of 2,500 inside the Knapp Center at the Iowa State Fairgrounds.

Very Mature. Very Presidential.

Politics Rule #1: Get Elected.

Rule #2: Get Re-elected.

Rule #3: Everything else must work for rule #1 and 2.

“Five trillion in new tax cuts? That is like trying to put out a prairie fire with some gasoline,” the president said.

Yeah, $6 Trillion in spending and millions out of work has worked out very well for all of us so far.

“What happens is the Republicans run up the tab, and then we’re sitting there, and they’ve left the restaurant and then they point, ‘Why’d you order all those steaks and martinis?’ ” he said. “What he did not also tell you was that after inheriting a trillion-dollar deficit, I signed $2 trillion of spending cuts into law, so now I want to finish the job.”-Obama

See yesterday’s blog to discover how dishonest this line of attack is. But it’s not like they care.

“But what my opponent didn’t tell you is that federal spending since I took office has risen at the slowest pace of any president in almost 60 years,” he said.

Again, see yesterday’s blog to see just how dishonest this truly is.

But since it’s the only “economic” meme he can run on because the honest truth is not something he or the liberal media will talk about it’s all he’s got.

And he’s praying you are stupid enough to believe him.

Like in 2008 if he tells the same lies over and over again the Liberal Media will make it the truth.

In his 1995 memoir “Dreams of My Father,” Obama writes about smoking pot almost like Dr. Seuss wrote about eating green eggs and ham. As a high school kid, Obama wrote, he would smoke “in a white classmate’s sparkling new van,” he would smoke “in the dorm room of some brother” and he would smoke “on the beach with a couple of Hawaiian kids.”

He would smoke it here and there. He would smoke it anywhere.

But he was never arrested.  He got into Ivy League Schools and everything. And it’s not supposed to be spoken of, except by partisan “racists”.

But bring up an alleged “bullying” 50 years ago that even the relatives of the now-deceased “victim” says is crap is very, very newsworthy.

So once again, a Liberal can get away with anything and say anything and if you object that’s YOUR fault.

“When they were chooming (smoking weed) in a car all the windows had to be rolled up so no smoke blew out and went to waste; when the pot was gone, they tilted their heads back and sucked in the last bit of smoke from the ceiling.”“When they were chooming in a car all the windows had to be rolled up so no smoke blew out and went to waste; when the pot was gone, they tilted their heads back and sucked in the last bit of smoke from the ceiling.”

The Liberals can go on for days about Romney as a “bully” and a “cultist” and a corporate raider but if you go here, in Obama’s own words and from people who knew him then and watch a Liberals blood pressure explode into apoplectic fits.

BAIN Bane

Much like the silly episode with Bill Maher where Obama and liberal started a “War on Women” over calling Sandra Fluke a slut and then taking $1,000,000 from a guy (Maher) who has said vastly worse things and poo-pooed any hypocrisy, Obama is at it again.

As mentioned yesterday, BAIN Capital the new Boogeyman of the Left for 2012, gave more in campaign donations previously to Democrats over Republicans.

Well, they’ve also given to Obama.

Though the Obama campaign has repeatedly attacked Mitt Romney for his career at Bain Capital, President Obama still accepted $7,500 in campaign contributions from two Bain executives. His campaign press secretary, Ben LaBolt told The Politicker the president has no intention of giving the money back.

“No one aside from Mitt Romney is running for President highlighting their tenure as a corporate buyout specialist as one of job creation, when in fact, his goal was profit maximization,” said Mr. LaBolt.  ”The President has support from business leaders across industries who have seen him pull the economy back from the brink of another depression, manufacturing and the auto industry revived, and support his agenda to build an economy that lasts where America outinnovates and outeducates the rest of the world and economic security for the middle class is restored.” (Solyndra, his tireless tirades against fossil fuels, $6 Trillion Dollars, and Pro-Union kickbacks, and other things like them being a great example).

Don’t so as I do, do as I say. I can do anything I want, you can’t.

“But that’s not what my job is as president. My job is to take into account everybody, not just some.”– Obama

As long as you do it my way and pay homage to my greatness or it’s the highway for you. I pick the winners and losers.

You are either an Apparatchik or you’re not.

Speaking at TPI Composites, which manufactures wind blades for wind turbines and employs 700 people, the president told the crowd that extending the tax credit is “a big deal.”

“This industry — thanks in large part to some very important tax credits — has now taken off,” the president told the crowd largely made up of TPI workers. …

However, he said “that progress is in jeopardy. If Congress doesn’t act, those tax credits I mentioned – the ones that helped to build up the wind industry and bring it here to Newton – will expire. If Congress doesn’t act, companies like this one will take a hit. Jobs will be lost.”(townhall)

Just Solyndra, Light Squared and all the other “green” boondoggles….Ooops! Can’t mention that to a liberal without getting attacked by the pit bull of  inconvenient truths.

I did a bit on wind turbines awhile back and how farcical they are. But it makes Liberals “feel” good so it must be better than nasty, evil fossil fuels. 🙂

And if, as the President claims, the wind industry has really “taken off,” why for pity’s sake does it need more subsidies? Because it hasn’t taken off, and the industry needs these subsidies to stay healthy. Ergo, The American Taxpayer is paying for unproductive jobs in a politically-favored industry, at the opportunity cost of actual economic growth and the creation of real, productive jobs. (townhall)

But you won’t here that from the Liberal Media.

After all, after every Solar plant goes under that got massive taxpayer subsides, it’s always the Chinese Government’s fault.

Liberals are never to blame for ANYTHING. It’s ALWAYS some one else’s fault.

The American Wind Energy Association’s 2011 annual report and related documents were quietly posted on the Internet last week by a wind power opponent upset by windmills’ negative impact on birds. The documents show the lobby’s efforts to frame its opponents as tax hikers, and to use opposition research against subsidy critics, some of whom it classifies as “libertarian free-market fundamentalists.” …

“AWEA’s message and champions have largely resided on the left,” the Revolution Agency stated in a strategy memo included in AWEA’s 2011 annual report. So the 2010 elections required AWEA to “pivot” from “green energy and Obama to jobs, manufacturing, business investment, and Conservative Republicans,” while still “taking care not to erode base support from the left.”

One core problem, the memo explained: The “debt-strapped, partisan, and Tea Party-infused Congress is reflexively skeptical of subsidies and many outside the windy red states have an inherently negative sentiment toward renewable energy.” …

AWEA plans “continued deployment of opposition research through third parties to cause critics to have to respond,” the battle plan states. In other words: When people attack AWEA’s subsidies, AWEA might feed an unflattering story on that person to some ideological or partisan media outlet or activist group.

Ahh, the seedy underbelly of the DC lobbying-scene. It’s kinda’ cute that greenie-hippie types think that by abiding by the dictates of environmental trendiness, they think they’re somehow ‘fighting the man’ and thwarting corporate/establishment interests. ‘Cause in reality, the environmental movement boasts one of the most intractable lobbies around.

Ever tried to get an Environmentalist to “compromise”. They don’t even understand the concept and their lobbyists are hard core. But they are Gods Chosen compared to evil Oil, Coal and Gas Lobbyists. So watch out and shut up!

If a form of renewable energy can start up its own ventures in the private sector and make a product that people willingly buy, then great! But as for the federal government ostensibly “making an investment” on behalf of public welfare, what incentives do bureaucrats have to be judicious in their “investments” when they’re gambling with other people’s money?

And losing repeatedly.

Government’s job shouldn’t be to tilt the field for one team or another, but to guarantee a level playing for everyone. (Hot air)

But liberals will continue to tilt at windmills because it makes them feel “good” and like any good Choomer it’s all about that next high.

Obama and Company will still take their money though.

Remember, there are only 3 rules. 🙂

Rational Thought?

Political Cartoons by Chuck Asay

That President Obama lost roughly 40 percent of the vote in Democratic primaries in Arkansas, Kentucky and West Virginia over the last two weeks has drawn massive national headlines.

Those headlines have drawn a collective eyeroll from Democrats and a yawn from the Liberal Media and cries of “racism” yet again…

Former Texas Rep. Charlie Stenholm, a longtime conservative Democrat, acknowledged that “race is definitely a factor for some Texans but not the majority,” adding: “The most significant factor is the perception/reality that the Obama administration has leaned toward the ultra-left viewpoint on almost all issues.”

Martin Frost, another former Texas Democratic Congressman, seconded that notion. “In states like West Virginia and Oklahoma, it’s just that voters are down on national Democrats generally, and I don’t believe it is due to race,” said Frost.

Other theories abound. The average voter in Appalachia and the South is simply more conservative than they believe Obama to be. His Administration’s policies regarding mining have hurt him in coal country. Obama’s academic pedigree — Columbia, Harvard Law School — reek of elitism to many people in the South.

And besides, in the 1960’s when the Southern Democrats opposed Civil Rights Legislation… 🙂

“Race, resentment [and] fear,” explained Donna Brazile, a Louisiana native and Democratic strategist when asked about Obama’s underperformance. “Democrats have not had any messaging in those states for more than a decade. It’s hard to get voters to like you or even know you when all they hear is negative stuff.” (Washington Post)

Gee, just like the Liberal Media and their “Vote for The Democrat because the guy other is a whacko, crazy racist nutbag!! (and a white elitist capitalist pillager to boot!).

But, simply labeling the 42 percent of Kentuckians who supported “uncommitted” over Obama or the 41 percent of Arkansas who backed Tennessee lawyer John Wolfe over the incumbent as “racists” is a major oversimplification.(Washington Post)

But the Liberal media keeps going there anyhow because it really is the only thing they can honestly think of.

That, and their fake issue of “Birthers” (Rachael Maddow went about it for 25 minutes last night on MSNBC) . Since that started with a Democrat after all. But it’s a nice juicy distraction for the irrational mind to use rather than talking about real issues.

It couldn’t possibly be how bad the President has been, how bad the economy still is, how the Democrats refuse to pass a budget and still just want to Tax & Spend like they have for generations.

Nope. It can’t be that. 🙂

They just must be some dumb hillbilly and or racist hicks.

Dennis Prager: You cannot understand the left if you do not understand that Leftism is a religion. It is not God-based (some left-wing Christians’ and Jews’ claims notwithstanding), but otherwise it has every characteristic of a religion.

The most blatant of those characteristics is dogma. People who believe in Leftism have as many dogmas as the most fundamentalist Christian. One of them is material equality as the preeminent moral goal. Another is the villainy of corporations. The bigger the corporation, the greater the villainy.

Thus, instead of the devil, the left has Big Pharma, Big Tobacco, Big Oil, the “military-industrial complex” and the like. Meanwhile, Big Labor, Big Trial Lawyers and, of course, Big Government are left-wing angels. And why is that? Why, to be specific, does the left fear big corporations but not big government?

The answer is dogma — a belief system that transcends reason. No rational person can deny that big governments have caused almost all the great evils of the last century, arguably the bloodiest in history.

Who killed the 20-30 million Soviet citizens in the Gulag Archipelago — big government or big business? Hint: There were no private businesses in the Soviet Union. Who deliberately caused 75 million Chinese to starve to death — big government or big business? Hint: See previous hint. Did Coca Cola kill 5 million Ukrainians? Did Big Oil slaughter a quarter of the Cambodian population? Would there have been a Holocaust without the huge Nazi state?

Whatever bad big corporations have done is dwarfed by the monstrous crimes — the mass enslavement of people, the deprivation of the most basic human rights, not to mention the mass murder and torture and genocide — committed by big governments.

Rep. James Clyburn (S.C.), the third-ranking House Democrat, said Romney’s business practices amounted to “raping companies and leaving them in debt” for his own profit.

The Hill reported earlier this year that over the last three cycles, Democrats have accepted far more than the GOP in political donations from executives at Bain Capital.

But don’t expect the Liberal Media to let facts get in the way of their 24/7/365 Two- Minute Hate.

How can anyone who thinks rationally believe that big corporations rather than big governments pose the greatest threat to humanity? The answer is that it takes a mind distorted by leftist dogma. If there is another explanation, I do not know what it is.

Religious Christians and Jews also have some irrational beliefs, but their irrationality is overwhelmingly confined to theological matters. And these theological irrationalities have no deleterious impact on religious Jews’ and Christians’ ability to see the world rationally and morally. Few religious Jews or Christians believe that big corporations are in any way analogous to big government in terms of evil done. And the few who do are leftists.

That the left demonizes “Big Pharma,” for instance, is an example of left-wing thinking. America’s pharmaceutical companies have saved millions of lives, including millions of leftists’ lives. And I do not doubt that in order to increase profits, they have not always played by the rules.

But to demonize big pharmaceutical companies while lionizing big government, big labor unions and big trial law firms, is to stand morality on its head.

There is yet another reason to fear big government far more than big corporations. ExxonMobil has no police force, no IRS, no ability to arrest you, no ability to shut you up, and certainly no ability to kill you. ExxonMobil can’t knock on your door in the middle of the night and legally take you away. Apple Computer cannot take your money away without your consent, and it runs no prisons. The government does all of these things.

Of course, the left will respond that government also does good and that corporations and capitalists are, by their very nature, “greedy.”

To which the rational response is that, of course, government also does good. But so do the vast majority of corporations, private citizens, church groups and myriad voluntary associations. On the other hand, only big government can do anything approaching the monstrous evils of the last century.

As for greed: Between hunger for money and hunger for power, the latter is incomparably more frightening. It is noteworthy that none of the 20th century’s monsters – Lenin, Hitler, Stalin, Mao – were preoccupied with material gain. They loved power much more than money.

And that is why the left is much more frightening than the right. It craves power.

And it craves CONTROL of everyone and everything on a scale that is unmatched by anyone else outside of Communism that is. 🙂

Voters: Yeah, We Really Don’t Care What Romney Did In High School

Guy Benson: This poll was commissioned by the very newspaper that ran the now-infamous 5,500-word ‘bully’ story on its front page a few weeks ago.  Sorry, WaPo — voters aren’t buying what you’re selling.  Hit piece fail:

Most Americans by far dismiss the relevance of accusations that Mitt Romney bullied a high-school classmate, calling it off-point in the election debate – and indicating they’d say the same about Barack Obama’s behavior as a high-school student, as well. Three-quarters in this ABC News/Washington Post poll say the account of Romney’s high school behavior is not a serious matter, about as many say it doesn’t provide relevant information on his character, and nearly all – 90 percent – say it’s not a major factor in their vote preference.
The public also bristles at the very approach of the press investigating a candidate’s teenage exploits, an overwhelming distaste that cuts across partisan lines:

Most Americans, in any case, see the general approach as inappropriate: Seventy-five percent in this poll…say it’s unfair to bring up things a political candidate did in high school. Given the context of the bullying story, 89 percent of Republicans say so; that slips to 73 percent of independents and 66 percent of Democrats. Further, 72 percent think the specific bullying incident, first reported by The Washington Post, does not provide useful information about Romney’s character. That, too, engenders partisan divisions: Almost all Republicans (94 percent) think the incident isn’t relevant; 71 percent of independents and 59 percent of Democrats agree.
Incidentally, this data is mined from the same national survey that gave Democrats a ludicrous ten point sample advantage, resulting in The One’s thin lead over Romney.  So the public’s rejection of the Post’s advocacy journalism is probably even more comprehensive than even the 90 percent (!) figure indicates.  With the Obama campaign’s Bain crusade backfiring, the press is going to have to dig harder to help sink Romney.  Their failure to accomplish this task thus far clearly isn’t due to lack of effort.  Come on, guys, the American people demand more hot scoops on Ann Romney’s former horses, the Romney family’s Irish Setter circa 1983, and the actions of rogue Mormon militias in the mid-19th Century.

But you won’t hear it from The Left ,after all,  rational thought is not their strong suit.

President Obama’s proposed 2013 budget will forecast a $901 billion deficit for next year, falling far short of his goal to halve the deficit in four years.

The budget, an outline of which was released by the White House Friday night, will show a higher deficit this year than in 2011, up from $1.3 trillion to $1.33 trillion.

So that’s 3 strikes and hopefully he’s out! What a Turkey!

Wonder if this one will go down 96-0 like last years.

Mind you the US Senate that hasn’t passed a Budget in 1, 018 days has already telegraphed that it has no intention of passing a budget this year anyhow.

So this is largely an exercise in campaign BS. Which is all we’ve gotten since January 20th, 2009 anyhow.

The full blown still-born cow of a budget comes out Monday. I’m sure it will bloated, class envious, have lots of flashy fake or useless “cuts”, and totally political. What else would you expect.

“We will talk more before the end of the month on what corporate tax reform would look like,” the official said on Friday, confirming that it would include a call for “lower rates.”

Facing a potentially tough presidential re-election challenge this November, Obama will propose cutting the rate following the release of his 2013 budget plan on Monday, February 13, according to the sources, who were not authorized to speak on the record.

While he spent a big part of his January speech to Congress criticizing businesses for moving jobs overseas, Obama said that “companies that choose to stay in America get hit with one of the highest tax rates in the world.”

So what do you wanna bet it’s going to be very selective and very “democratic”. 🙂

You do it my way or else. Or he’ll propose all new taxes to make up for it, disguised as something else or some other Orwellian turn of phrase.

Typically with this White House “tax reform” means bend over you’re about to get a massive enema!

Gene Sperling, director of Obama’s National Economic Council, has told reporters that the president will be laying out “principles” for corporate tax reform close to the budget release.

Obama’s corporate plan will also include a new minimum tax on foreign profits earned in low tax countries – an unpopular idea in the corporate community. (yahoo)

“principles” eh…This should be good… 😦

Ann Coulter:Having given up on pillorying Mitt Romney for plundering his way to vast wealth — because, unfortunately, it isn’t true — the Non-Fox Media seem to have settled on denouncing him as a rich jerk.

Liberals are disgusted by people who made their own money, as Romney did at Bain Capital. But they admire ill-gotten gains, which is how John Kerry, John Edwards, Jon Corzine, John F. Kennedy, Franklin D. Roosevelt and innumerable other spokesmen for the downtrodden amassed their fortunes.

Democrats are very proud of the rich, patrician FDR — who inherited all of his money and then launched a series of federal entitlements designed to bankrupt America 60 years later.

JFK also inherited his wealth, from a father who made his money as a bootlegger and stock manipulator. (In their defense, both went on to create jobs for bartenders and prostitutes.)

Kerry is in a special category of the gigolo. He acquired his fortune by marrying someone, who married someone, who inherited the money — leading Kerry’s children to refer to Teresa Heinz Kerry as their “step-money.” In what can only be described as luck, Kerry’s first wife was also an heiress.

I’ve been diligently searching for the shrieks of horror from the media over John Kerry’s tax returns when he ran for president eight years ago, but I can’t find anything. (Although I did find a reference to Kerry’s having served in Vietnam. Anybody else hear about that?)

Even when Kerry refused to release his wife’s tax returns in order to avoid the humiliation of revealing his allowance, the press was demurely silent.

John Edwards made well over $50 million by shaking down hardworking doctors with junk science lawsuits — as the New York Times has since admitted. The highlight of his sideshows was when he channeled unborn children in front of illiterate jurors.

(In the Democrats’ moral universe, the unborn have no right to life, but they’re perfectly acceptable as witnesses for the plaintiff in a malpractice suit.)

Democrats were overjoyed with Wall Street financier-turned Democratic politician Jon Corzine. It was just three years ago, in 2009, when President Obama was hailing Corzine as one of the “best partners I have in the White House.” Today, prosecutors are trying to find out what Corzine did with hundreds of millions of his customers’ money.

The media do everything they can to avoid looking into these mountebanks when they are active politicians. Then, when they’re out of office, the NFM summarily announce that they always knew the Democrats were sleazeballs, and why are we still talking about them?
It’s never a good time to talk about Democrat plutocrats until it’s way too late to talk about them. With Corzine, we’ll have a window of three seconds to talk about his financial shenanigans. He’s innocent until proved gui — Convicted! — What? You’re still burbling about that guy?

Liberals will be carrying on about Richard Nixon until we’re all long dead. Why has the time passed for them to really examine the man who was their vice presidential candidate only eight years ago and was desperately seeking the presidential slot four years ago?

Until we hear ferocious denunciations of FDR, JFK, Kerry, Edwards and Corzine, liberals have no business criticizing Bain Capital.

Maybe some people are irrationally offended by the rich, but Democrats aren’t. It’s the party of George Soros, Goldman Sachs and Nancy Pelosi!

The six wealthiest senators are all Democrats, half of whom married or inherited their money. Some other multimillionaire Democrats are:

• Jay Rockefeller of West Virginia, the second-richest senator after Kerry, who inherited his money.

• Dianne Feinstein of California, the sixth-richest senator, who married her money.

• Maria Cantwell of Washington, a bogus dot-com multimillionaire who cashed out before the stock crashed.

• Claire McCaskill of Missouri, the ninth-richest senator, who failed to pay taxes on her private plane until she was caught last year, and who married her money.

Meanwhile, with few exceptions, Republicans either made money on their own or they don’t have it. It’s no accident Democrats oppose a tax on wealth, of which they have boatloads, but strongly support taxes on income, which they typically do not have.

Democrats don’t hate the rich; they are the rich, luxuriating in fortunes acquired by inheritance or marriage, fleecing the taxpayer, trial lawyer hucksterism or disreputable money manipulation. Their contempt is reserved for those who engage in honest work for a living, whom they accuse of “greed” for wanting to pay the government a little less.

As I have said many times before, I believe the greediest people in this country are Liberals. Period.
