Two Face

The Sky is falling and we’re going to make you suffer for the sequester by ratcheting up the pain and the fear.

BUT…we will give millions to a Nation run by Terrorists that we helped create!!!!

Calling it a “good-faith effort” to help the Egyptian people, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry released $250 million in economic aid.

Oh, and after 4 years and 7,000 comments I was banned from The Huffington post for “offensive” and “abusive” ad hominem attacks.

Ever been there? It’s nothing BUT offensive and abusive ad hominem attacks.

Liberals are so two-faced.

Speaking of the Sky is not Falling…

The White House is retreated from its doomsday predictions about the impact of the $85 billion in federal spending cuts as they enter a second week — with Republican leaders appearing at least satisfied about delivering on their promise to limit government spending and hold down taxes.

Gene Sperling, the White House’s top economic adviser, repeatedly said Sunday the cuts will not hurt as much on “Day One” as they will over the long haul.

“Nobody ever suggested that this … was going to have all its impact in the first few days,” he told “NBC’s “Meet the Press.” “It is a slow grind.”

His remarks are in contrast to weeks of President Obama and his Cabinet warning that the cuts will result in furloughs or pay cuts for middle-class wage-earners such as teachers, Capitol Hill janitors and air traffic controllers, which they said could cause 90-minutes delays at major U.S. airports.

Sperling declined at least twice to directly answer questions about whether the worst-case-scenario rhetoric has hurt the president’s credibility on the issue. He instead stuck to his argument that independent economists forecast the cuts will result in 750,000 fewer jobs and that corporate executives now anticipate slower economic growth.

“These are not the Sky is Falling! Doomsday Predictions you are looking for….” (ala Star Wars at Mos Eisley).
Oh no! it will be slower than the slowest recovery in 80 years!
Martha, bar the door, the Apocalypse is here!

Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell told CNN’s “State of the Union” Americans absorbed similar cuts once already this year.

“This modest reduction of 2.4 percent in spending over the next six months is a little more than the average American experienced just two months ago, when their own pay went down when the payroll tax holiday expired,” the Kentucky Republican said.

Congress agreed to the cuts, known as sequester, in 2011 after failing to agree on more measure reductions — to defense and some domestic spending. However, the cuts were intended to be so drastic that Democrats and Republicans would be forced to compromise before they started.

Still, Sperling rejected several Republican-backed plans and said no compromise would be reached unless the party agrees to tax increases.

My way or the Highway!
“This is not a win for Republicans,” Sperling said. “This cuts into military preparedness.”

BUT liberals hate the military and want to slash it to the bone anyhow! This is EXACTLY what they wanted. Which is why it was in e Sequester to make the Republicans blink in the first place.
“Our hope is as more Republicans start to see this pain in their own districts they will choose bipartisan compromise over this absolutist position,” he said.

Aka, we’ll ratchet up the pain and make them do it our way or ELSE you’ll “Regret it”! 🙂
And our absolutist position on the need for more Tax increases is non-negotiable and not bi-partisan nor a compromise!!
So Two Faced…

DON’T DO AS I DO, DO AS I SAY!

But because the next great Crisis to end civilization is coming….

All of this comes ahead of a new, March 27 deadline that could spell a government shutdown and a debt-ceiling clash coming in May.

And, of course it will be the Republicans fault. The Democrats are perfectly reasonable about their absolutist fear mongering.
And Grandma will out in the cold eating dog food.
Republicans will be stealing candy from babies.
You’ll have no cops or firefighters.
They’ll make you wait an extra 90 minutes at the airport.
More Illegals we wanted to release anyways will be released.
We’ll stop pretending we care about the border.
And you’ll get even more horse in your meat.
AND IT WILL BE ALL YOUR FAULT!
So Blame the Republicans!
Blame the Rich!
Blame Corporate America!
But don’t you Ever dare to blame Obama and The Democrats!
You’ll “regret” that if you do, you racist, homophobic, misogynist, Obstructionist TEA BAGGER idiot. You piece of human filth!
And just imagine what it will be like when they are forced to cut spending?
The billions in cuts apply to the remainder of fiscal 2013, which ends Sept. 30. But without a deal they will continue slashing government spending by about $1 trillion more over a 10-year period.

That’s 100 Billion a year. Obama and Democrats blow through that in 20 days.
So what big deal…
All Hail Armageddon! 🙂

(Charles Krauthammer) “The worst-case scenario for us,” a leading anti-budget-cuts lobbyist told The Post, “is the sequester hits and nothing bad really happens.”

Think about that. Worst case? That a government drowning in debt should cut back by 2.2 percent — and the country survives. That a government now borrowing 35 cents of every dollar it spends reduces that borrowing by two cents “and nothing bad really happens.” Oh, the humanity!

A normal citizen might think this a good thing. For reactionary liberalism, however, whatever sum our ever-inflating government happens to spend today (now double what Bill Clinton spent in his last year) is the Platonic ideal — the reduction of which, however minuscule, is a national calamity.

Or damn well should be. Otherwise, people might get the idea that we can shrink government and live on.

To a liberal the horror of you not needing them or not needing them more and more is a their worst nightmare. You have to be dependent on them, for everything, including your thoughts. That’s just the way their universe works.

You can’t possibly survive without their “benevolence”, their “fairness” and their “justice”!

And cutting a few days of overspending is like a mortal wound to these guys.

Remember, they are the drug dealers (money) who depend on you being addicted to them.  But they are also Drug addicts who need a bigger and bigger hit to get that buzz of importance and power they crave.

The Obama administration has every incentive to make the sky fall, lest we suffer that terrible calamity — cuts the nation survives. Are they threatening to pare back consultants, conferences, travel and other nonessential fluff? Hardly. It shall be air-traffic control. Meat inspection. Weather forecasting.

On the local level it’s always, Cops, and Firefighters. It’s an all trick.

Then in Phoenix, they pass a Food Tax to create more Firefighters and Cops and don’t do it and now they have a fight to keep or else…Guess what? 🙂

In Education, they never talk about cutting the Administrators and Bureaucrats. The people who SHOULD be cut.

Nope, it’s all about FEAR.

“Fear is the most basic emotion we have. Fear is primal. Fear sells.”

― Max Brooks, World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War

A 2011 Government Accountability Office report gave a sampling of the vastness of what could be cut, consolidated and rationalized in Washington: 44 overlapping job training programs, 18 for nutrition assistance, 82 (!) on teacher quality, 56 dealing with financial literacy, more than 20 for homelessness, etc. Total annual cost: $100 billion-$200 billion, about two to five times the entire domestic sequester.

Are these on the chopping block? No sir. It’s firemen first. That’s the phrase coined in 1976 by legendary Washington Monthly editor Charlie Peters to describe the way government functionaries beat back budget cuts. Dare suggest a nick in the city budget, and the mayor immediately shuts down the firehouse. The DMV back office, stacked with nepotistic incompetents, remains intact. Shrink it and no one would notice. Sell the firetruck — the people scream and the city council falls silent about any future cuts.

After all, the sequester is just one-half of 1 percent of GDP. It amounts to 1.4 cents on the dollar of nondefense spending, 2 cents overall.

Because of this year’s payroll tax increase, millions of American workers have had to tighten their belts by precisely 2 percent. They found a way. Washington, spending $3.8 trillion, cannot? If so, we might as well declare bankruptcy now and save the attorneys’ fees.

The problem with sequestration, of course, is that the cuts are across the board and do not allow money to move between accounts. It’s dumb because it doesn’t discriminate.

Fine. Then change the law. That’s why we have a Congress. Discriminate. Prioritize. That’s why we have budgets. Except that the Democratic Senate hasn’t passed one in four years. (1,402 days) And the White House, which proposed the sequester in the first place, had 18 months to establish rational priorities among accounts — and did nothing.

When the GOP House passed an alternative that cut where the real money is — entitlement spending — President Obama threatened a veto. Meaning, he would have insisted that the sequester go into effect — the very same sequester he now tells us will bring on Armageddon.

Good grief. The entire sequester would have reduced last year’s deficit from $1.33 trillion to $1.24 trillion. A fraction of a fraction. Nonetheless, insists Obama, such a cut is intolerable. It has to be “balanced” — i.e., largely replaced — by yet more taxes.

Which demonstrates that, for Obama, this is not about deficit reduction, which interests him not at all. The purpose is purely political: to complete his Election Day victory by breaking the Republican opposition.

At the fiscal cliff, Obama broke — and split — the Republicans on taxes. With the sequester, he intends to break them on spending. Make the cuts as painful as possible, and watch the Republicans come crawling for a “balanced” (i.e., tax-hiking) deal.

In the past two years, House Republicans stopped cold Obama’s left-liberal agenda. Break them now, and the road is open to resume enactment of the expansive, entitlement-state liberalism that Obama proclaimed in his second inaugural address.

But he cannot win if “nothing bad really happens.” Indeed, he’d look both foolish and cynical for having cried wolf.

Obama’s incentive to deliberately make the most painful and socially disruptive cuts possible (say, oh, releasing illegal immigrants from prison) is enormous. And alarming.

Which was over a thousand BEFORE the Sequester not 300 as claimed. It was a just an excuse to do what THEY wanted to do all along anyhow.

Hail Armageddon.

When the people fear the government, there is tyranny. When the government fears the people, there is liberty.

The Speech

The Almighty Barack Hussein Obama gave a speech last night and I have only 4 words in summary: I TOLD YOU SO!

President Obama’s address to Congress was exactly what we thought it would be: a shallow, callow campaign rally masquerading as something serious and important.  As Charles Krauthammer framed it on Fox, tonight’s address represented the first presidential campaign speech delivered in the House of Representatives in US history.

The tone and tenor of the address, which was sprinkled with superficial appeals to bipartisanship, was highly political and practically unhelpful.  Straw men were introduced and torched at record pace.

Spend More Money! Tax The “The Rich”!

Create more Union jobs and temporary “infrastructure” Union jobs.

Oh, and “Pass the Bill”! Only there is no bill. There aren’t any concrete, written specifics, but if you don’t pass it we’ll beat you senseless Republicans! (But we will create one in a week-and-a-half, in the meantime we’ll beat you senseless first then tell you to pass it or else!)

Of course, we were going to do that anyhow, but who cares. We don’t.

“Just Pass the Bill” but not just any bill, like the Ryan Budget, or Cut, Cap & Balance, or any right wing “extremist” bill, a bill that we the left wing extremists can be happy with. That’s “compromise”, after all.

Just do as I say, not as I do.

President Barack Obama proposed a $447 billion jobs package (More Spending!!) on Thursday to help boost the U.S. economy (That’s worked so well before- I think it was called THE STIMULUS!) , challenging Congress to pass legislation made up largely of tax cuts for workers (the same ones that haven’t worked so far)  and businesses (but we’ll choke them with other taxes-The highest in the world and regulations and ObamaCare!)

“It will provide a jolt to an economy that has stalled and give companies confidence that if they invest and hire there will be customers for their products and services. You should pass this jobs plan right away,” Obama said.

The agreement we passed in July will cut government spending by about $1 trillion over the next ten years (That was a cut in the growth of expenses not actual expenses).  It also charges this Congress to come up with an additional $1.5 trillion in savings by Christmas.  Tonight, I’m asking you to increase that amount so that it covers the full cost of the American Jobs Act.  And a week from Monday, I’ll be releasing a more ambitious deficit plan – a plan that will not only cover the cost of this jobs bill, but stabilize our debt in the long run.  This approach is basically the one I’ve been advocating for months.

Can you hear The Punt (That’s right, Obama punted the heavy lifting to the super-committee, and pledged to introduce another general deficit plan in twelve days. ) from here and it sounds familiar…

The Stimulus and the Armageddon speeches he gave to get it passed. This is so 2009.

Taking aim at Republicans who have consistently opposed his economic initiatives, Obama said it was time to “stop the political circus and actually do something to help the economy.”

The political partisanship is entirely the Republicans fault, you know. 🙂

The 2 years prior to the Republicans taking the House 8 months ago doesn’t count.  It’s doesn’t matter. My words are supposed to be bigger than my inaction.

So what if every Republican led initiative has died in the Senate, it’s still their fault.
And we (Liberals) aren’t the partisans in this mess. 🙂

But after saying it was a crisis our Dear leader went on vacation for a Month. It was that “urgent”. Now he’s had his big speech, which doesn’t have a plan yet, but you have to “just pass the bill” and we’ll come out with a plan in a week-and-a-half. We’ll lead from behind as always.

Obama said he would propose a deficit-reduction plan on Sept. 19 that will cover the cost of his jobs bill and include “modest adjustments” to Medicare and Medicaid and more taxes for the rich and corporations. (Unlike the $500 Billion Obamacare is supposed to cut so it can be double counted as savings! or the evil Ryan Plan 🙂 )

“A week from Monday, I’ll be releasing a more ambitious deficit plan — a plan that will not only cover the cost of this jobs bill, but stabilize our debt in the long run,” he said Thursday to Congress in his speech on job creation.

So the tease and denial continues. After all, Keynesian Economics and his own rigid Ideology prevent him from doing what is really necessary.

So the media tease continues. But you have to “just pass the bill”. 🙂

“…by making modest adjustments to health care programs like Medicare and Medicaid; and by reforming our tax code in a way that asks the wealthiest Americans and biggest corporations to pay their fair share,” he said. (CNBC)

Soak the Rich. As for “fair share” get I though paying the the majority of taxes ALREADY would be enough, after all 47% of all American Pay NO taxes at all and $4.2 Billion dollars in tax refunds went to Illegal Aliens.

And we have to remember that his definition of “millionaires and billionaires” starts at $200,000 a year.

Tax Year 2008 (latest available): Top 5% (which fit into his category of “millionaires and Billionaires” : 58.72%

The Bottom 50% pay 3% of all Taxes.

But it’s “fair” to tax them even more because they aren’t paying their “fair share”.

Class Warfare at it’s ugliest.

So we Have Tax & Spend Keynesian Stimulus.

We Have raise taxes on the rich. Class Warfare.

So what was different from before last night? NOTHING!

But you have to wait until Sept 19th for his “urgent” plan that will take him a month-and-a-half to put together on his vacation and now his tease and denial.

Can the media stand the hype or will they orgasm all over themselves before Sept 19th. Tune in and find out!

That’s very “urgent”.  It’s ANOTHER CRISIS! And we all know “never waste a crisis”. 🙂

Two quick examples that illustrate why this entire spectacle was a sham.

(1) Obama lamented teacher layoffs: “While they’re adding teachers in places like South Korea, we’re laying them off in droves.  It’s unfair to our kids.  It undermines their future and ours.  And it has to stop.  Pass this jobs bill, and put our teachers back in the classroom where they belong.” But later in the speech, he went out of his way to condemn budget fixes like Wisconsin’s, which limited collective bargaining “rights” for government employees, but has saved thousands of teachers’ jobs.

(2) The president demanded swift action on three pending trade agreements, heavily implying that Congress has been dragging its feet on these items: “Now it’s time to clear the way for a series of trade agreements that would make it easier for American companies to sell their products in Panama, Colombia, and South Korea…”  But the reason these agreements have stalled is because he refuses to send them to Congress unless Republicans agree to lard them up with special goodies for labor unions.
Liberals on MSNBC and Twitter seem to be energized by Obama’s aggressive performance.  They think this was just what the doctor ordered, and that Republicans have been put on notice, or something.

Liberals?  Excited by a passionate, but ultimately unserious, Obama campaign speech?  Color me stunned.

If President Obama plan to convince Americans that the economy sucks because the GOP wouldn’t go along with every last piece of his re-run stimulus plan, let him try.  “You should pass it.  And I intend to take that message to every corner of this country.”  Go for it, champ. (Guy Benson)

Distraction 101

The US economy created no jobs and the unemployment rate held steadily higher at 9.1 percent in August, fueling concerns that the US is heading for another recession.

You mean the other one was over?? Since When?

It was the first time since World War II that the economy had precisely net zero jobs created for a month.

But don’t worry, Obama will ride in with his speech and save us all! 🙂

More Spending, that’s what we need! (insert  orwellian euphemism for more spending here)

More Taxes!  (Insert Orwellian euphemism)

More Regulations!

That’ll fix everything!

The unemployment rate that counts those not looking for work rose to 16.2 percent, tied for the highest in 2011.

Teleprompter One will save us!!

That is, if anyone is watching since the NFL Season Premiere is on at the same time. 🙂

Watch Obama spout off about more Taxing and Spending, hidden under new Orwellian Euphemism or watch the Packers vs The Saints?? And I’m not a sports fan…Gee, tough tough choice…Anyone for some cheese (and I don’t mean Obama) 🙂

The average duration of unemployment edged lower to 40.3 weeks from its previous record high of 40.4 weeks in July. However, the median level spiked from 21.2 to 21.8 weeks.

We, the Government have to create jobs! The Private sector is too evil and greedy to do it. Mind you, those jobs are paid for by TAXES. So we need to Tax More and Spend More and everything will be just Utopian when everyone is on the government dole or payroll!

He wants to speak before Congress because he recognizes that while there are things he can do without Congress, and he will do them, there are actions that need to be taken with Congress that require legislation to grow the economy and create jobs. –White House Spokesman Jay Carney

Howard Fineman on Campaign 2012:“It’s not going to be a ‘Morning in America’ campaign, it’s going to be a darkness at midnight campaign about the Republicans. It’s going to be about the fact that the Republicans in Congress pushed Paul Ryan’s bill Medicare, about how they pushed Cut, Cap and Balance. It’s about how Republicans wanted to dismantle Wall Street reform. It’s going to be about how the Republican presidential candidates have embraced the Tea Party.”

“Those are going to be the two central messages of a campaign that’s mostly going to be about attack. I think this is — just like 2008 was in some respects an uplifting campaign, from both sides, this one is going to be down and dirty from the beginning from both sides.”

No More “Hope and Change” it’s time it’s all out Armageddon!

Yeah, like Democrats wouldn’t want to defend their record of failure.

Oh, and the religious right want to create a Theocracy in America so you better vote Democrat! 🙂

Christians are evil! (Muslims like the sheik in yesterday’s blog–not so much).

Mormons are Cultists!

And Teabaggers are “terrorists” and “racists”

So you better vote for a Democrat. Vote for me (The Democrat) because the other choice is for Hell on Earth! And you don’t want that now, do ya boy…

That’s Campaign 2012 in a Liberal nutshell. And Just think we have 14 Months to go, imagine what the Armageddon speak will be like a year from now!!

The executive editor of the New York Times, Bill Keller, concludes that “an unusually large number” of Republican candidates “belong to churches that are mysterious or suspect to many Americans.” Perry and Bachmann, in particular, are connected to “fervid subsets of evangelical Christianity,” which Keller says “has raised concerns about their respect for the separation of church and state, not to mention the separation of fact and fiction.” Fearing that Perry or Bachmann could be a “Trojan horse” for a religious takeover of the government, Keller advocates strict questioning of candidates on doctrinal issues.

The Boogeyman is coming to get you! You better watch out!!

But don’t you dare talk about how badly the Democrats have screwed this up, and neither will the Mainstream Media.

Example: Since the Media is all of the sudden very obsessed with the religion of Presidential Candidates where were they when Senator Obama & Jeremiah Wright broke out??

They were very quickly covering it up and yelling “racism”!

Funny how that happens.

Put aside whether there is some bias against Christianity in these baseless charges, or whether liberals are proposing the kind of religious test for office that the Founders explicitly rejected. It has often been remarked that, given today’s terrible economy, Barack Obama cannot run in 2012 on the theme of hope, as he did in 2008. With his record, he’ll have to run on fear — that is, on convincing voters that Republicans are just too scary to elect.

This is what running on fear looks like. Could the president’s political strategists be anything less than delighted with the work of Keller and his colleagues?

Out on the campaign trail, Democratic activists are trying to maneuver the candidates into statements to feed the Republicans-are-religious-nuts narrative. For example, in New Hampshire a few weeks ago, a young boy approached Perry with a series of questions about science. How old is the Earth? the boy asked. As Perry answered (he said he didn’t know), the boy’s mother pushed her son to confront the governor. “Ask him about evolution,” she ordered the boy. “Ask him why he doesn’t believe in science.” Perry’s answer — that evolution is a theory that has “some gaps” — provided more material for Keller and the subject-changers.

Elsewhere on the trail, so-called “trackers” from the liberal think tank Center for American Progress, David Brock’s American Bridge, and other organizations follow Republicans around, sometimes posing out-of-the-blue questions in hopes of throwing a candidate off message. “It’s all about homosexuality, Islam, anything that is remotely sensitive socially,” says Ellen Carmichael, spokeswoman for frequent target Herman Cain. “That’s what they usually ask about.”

Get the sound bite, manipulate it, play it 24/7/365 .  Ta Da! Instant slag-pile politics. The dirtiest of the dirty. Who cares about truth. This is the politics of personal destruction on a nuclear scale.

Do you think they care?

NO! They don’t.

Win at any cost. Fear trumps logic. So go for full on 24/7 fear.

Fear.

Fear.

Fear.

Vote for me, the other guy/gal is an asshole to be feared because I say so. So what if our candidate is a bigger failure than Jimmy Carter at least he’s not a “racist” “terrorist” Teabagger” Christian or Mormon! 🙂

FEAR IS HOPE!

Will these diversionary efforts succeed? Political journalists can talk about theocracy all they want, but Americans are still overwhelmingly concerned with jobs. The more hysterical the religious speculation becomes, the more voters will be able to spot an effort to change the subject. (Byron York)

Golly, between the House’s nefarious, unpatriotic behavior, Tea Party conservatives’ terrorist acts and lynch mob impulses, and the international “run of back luck” that has hampered the US economy, it’s becoming increasingly clear that nothing is Barack Obama’s fault.  Four more years! (Guy Benson)

Update: The House not wanting to bow to Obama Command performance the same night as their long-since scheduled Debate is…<<drum roll>> (you could see this coming from 16 miles away… RACIST!! 🙂

“The interesting question is: What is it about this president that has stripped away the veneer of respect that normally accompanies the Office of the President? Why do Republicans think this president is unpresidential and should dare to request this kind of thing? It strikes me that it could be the economic times, it could be that he won so big in 2008 or it could be, let’s face it, the color of his skin. This is an extraordinary reaction to a normal sequence of events,” MSNBC contributor Richard Wolffe said on “The Last Word.”

Everything comes down to Racism and Fear for the Democrats.

“Hope and Change” is now “It’s Racism! and No Change!”

Racism and Fear! That’s our Motto!

Don’t think that will sell very well on a T-Shirt but I’m sure the Mainstream media, especially NBC and MSNBC are all over it.

I feel better now about the state of country, don’t you? 🙂

Why Are We Protesting??

Political Cartoons by Henry Payne

The Improving Cheese

“This is a disaster,” Mark Miller, the Wisconsin Senate Democratic leader, said in February after Republican Gov. Scott Walker proposed a budget bill that would curtail the collective-bargaining powers of some public employees. Miller predicted catastrophe if the bill were to become law — a charge repeated thousands of times by his fellow Democrats, union officials and protesters in the streets.

Now the bill is law, and we have some early evidence of how it is working. And for one beleaguered Wisconsin school district, it’s a godsend, not a disaster.

The Kaukauna Area School District, in the Fox River Valley of Wisconsin near Appleton, has about 4,200 students and about 400 employees. It has struggled in recent times and this year faced a deficit of $400,000. But after the law went into effect at 12:01 a.m. June 29, school officials put in place new policies they estimate will turn that $400,000 deficit into a $1.5 million surplus. And it’s all because of the very provisions that union leaders predicted would be disastrous.

In the past, teachers and other staff at Kaukauna were required to pay 10 percent of the cost of their health-insurance coverage and none of their pension costs. Now they’ll pay 12.6 percent of the cost of their coverage (still well below rates in much of the private sector) and contribute 5.8 percent of salary to their pensions. The changes will save the school board an estimated $1.2 million this year, according to board president Todd Arnoldussen.

Of course, Wisconsin unions had offered to make benefit concessions during the budget fight. Wouldn’t Kaukauna’s money problems have been solved if Walker had just accepted those concessions and not demanded cutbacks in collective-bargaining powers?

“The monetary part of it is not the entire issue,” says Arnoldussen, a political independent who won a spot on the board in a nonpartisan election. Indeed, some of the most important improvements in Kaukauna’s outlook are because of the new limits on collective bargaining.

In the past, Kaukauna’s agreement with the teachers union required the school district to purchase health-insurance coverage from something called WEA Trust — a company created by the Wisconsin teachers union. “It was in the collective-bargaining agreement that we could negotiate only with them,” says Arnoldussen. “Well, you know what happens when you can negotiate with only one vendor.” This year, WEA Trust told Kaukauna that it would face a significant increase in premiums.

Now the collective-bargaining agreement is gone, and the school district is free to shop around for coverage. And all of a sudden, WEA Trust has changed its position. “With these changes, the schools could go out for bids, and, lo and behold, WEA Trust said, ‘We can match the lowest bid,'” says Republican state Rep. Jim Steineke, who represents the area and supports the Walker changes. At least for the moment, Kaukauna is staying with WEA Trust but saving substantial amounts of money.

Then there are work rules. “In the collective-bargaining agreement, high-school teachers had to teach only five periods a day out of seven,” says Arnoldussen. “Now they’re going to teach six.” In addition, the collective-bargaining agreement specified that teachers had to be in the school 37-1/2 hours a week. Now it will be 40 hours.

The changes mean Kaukauna can reduce the size of its classes — from 31 students to 26 students in high school and from 26 students to 23 students in elementary school. In addition, there will be more teacher time for one-on-one sessions with troubled students. Those changes would not have been possible without the much-maligned changes in collective bargaining.

Teachers’ salaries will stay “relatively the same,” Arnoldussen says, except for higher pension and health care payments. (The top salary is about $80,000 per year, with about $35,000 in additional benefits, for 184 days of work per year — summers off.) Finally, the money saved will be used to hire a few more teachers and institute merit pay.

It is impossible to overstate how bitter and ugly the Wisconsin fight has been, and that bitterness and ugliness continues to this day with efforts to recall senators and an unseemly battle inside the state Supreme Court. But the new law is now a reality, and Gov. Walker recently told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that the measure would gain acceptance “with every day, week and month that goes by that the world doesn’t fall apart.”

In the Kaukauna schools, the world is definitely not falling apart — it’s getting better. (Byron York)

But never forget the Unions will fight tool and nail to your death to have their exclusive members-only kiss-ass club back. They are too arrogant and “entitled” not to.

Much like most Democrats.

Political Cartoons by Gary Varvel

“It is unfair to ask seniors to get less in benefits and wait longer to get onto Medicare — all while Republicans back tax breaks for Big Oil and corporations that ship American jobs overseas,” said House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) “Just like the Republican plan to end Medicare, this proposal is unacceptable, especially for struggling middle-class Americans.”

But don’t worry, it’s all those Republicans fault that we can’t deal with the problem. And let’s throw in some Class Warfare will we are at it!

Do the Democrats ever mention the $500 Billion ObamaCare cut from Medicare and then double-counted it as savings? Naw, why would they when they can just straight for the fear and class warfare.

“A plan that slashes Medicare for vulnerable seniors is a plan that slashes Medicare for vulnerable seniors no matter what co-sponsors you put on it,” said Protect Your Care spokesman Eddie Vale. “This so called ‘plan’ is just as dangerous for seniors as the Republican budget that ends Medicare.”

“We believe the right way to strengthen Medicare is to improve the quality and lower the cost of care throughout the health care system,” said AARP’s Nancy LeaMond. “Simply shifting the bill to seniors does nothing to improve health care quality or combat the real problem of rising costs.”

Yet, the one program that was working, Medicare Advantage will be savaged by Obamacare in favor of the less efficient and more expensive MediGap.

Gee, I wonder which one AARP favors?  Do you even have to ask… 🙂

Debt Ceiling: The president called on Republicans to back off their “stubborn” refusal to compromise on their “sacred cow” (no tax hikes), asserting that everyone else at the table has displayed a willingness to do so.  This is news to me, as Democrats have consistently refused to deal seriously with entitlements, and have shamelessly demagogued Republican reform efforts.  One could also argue that Democrats’ true sacred cow in this debate is their insistence on raising taxes, a stance from which they have not backed down.

And the Democrats only want “revenue increases” the new Orwellian term for TAX INCREASES! And anything else is just stupid in their minds. But don’t worry, it’s the Republican’s fault for being intractable.

“I am the President of the United  States, and I want to make sure I’m not engaged in fear-mongering.”   Republicans should file this quote away and resurrect it whenever the  president feeds his insatiable appetite for precisely the practice he  claims to reject.  In fact, he fear-mongered at today’s press  conference.  He can’t help himself.  Absent tax increases, he warned,  children could go without scholarships, food safety measures could be  loosened, and medical research could dry up, etc, etc.  It’s fat-cat  corporate jet-setters vs. the children, you see.  I’d try to accumulate Obama’s greatest fear-mongering hits, but that task could consume my entire afternoon. (But I am considering starting a blog about it…)

“If we do not have revenues (aka TAX INCREASES!), that means there are a bunch of kids out there who are not getting college scholarships.  If we do not have those revenues, then the kinds of cuts that would be required might compromise the National Weather Service.  It means that we would not be funding critical medical research.  It means that food inspection might be compromised.  And I’ve said to some of the Republican leaders, you go talk to your constituents, the Republican constituents, and ask them are they willing to compromise their kids’ safety so that some corporate jet owner continues to get a tax break.  And I’m pretty sure what the answer would be.”

So it’s Armageddon if we don’t have Tax Increases!! And he’s absolutely not fearmongering!!!! 🙂

But it’s the Republican’s “sacred cows” that are the problem!

And the Left has no “sacred cows” that are a problem. 🙂

DEBT: Obama demanded that legislators “do their job” on the debt crisis.  Um,  Mr. President, the Republican-controlled House did its job on the debt.   It passed Paul Ryan’s budget, which reduces the debt by four trillion  dollars, reforms the tax code, and saves the social safety net by  distrupting its inexorable march toward insolvency.  The Democrat-held  Senate has not done its job.  791 days have passed since Harry Reid’s caucus even introduced a  budget.  Oddly, the president failed to mention these salient facts.   He did, however, demand that Congress make “tough choices.”  Is he  referring to the brand of politically risky leadership he’s deliberately avoided?

July 8th, 2011 will be 800 days since the Democrats passed a budget AT ALL.

“I’m the President of the United States not running off of scare tactics,” Treasury Secretary Geithner.

In a ham-fisted class warfare gambit, Obama took aim at tax breaks for  private jet owners.  His point, presumably, was to highlight an  unpopular tax provision Republicans are “protecting” through their  blanket refusal to entertain any tax increases.  Say, where’d those evil  private jet-related tax breaks come from, anyway?  Clue: The answer may  involve an infamous bill that zero House Republicans supported, and  that Barack Obama signed into law.

The vaulted STIMULUS!

The Liberal giveth, and The Liberal wants to take it away when it benefits them politically. Now doesn’t that feel you with confidence?

Oh, and the tax break will bring in $3 Billion dollars over 10 years. OOOH! That’ll fix a $14,400,000,000,000 budget deficit!

Damn those evil greedy rich people!!

IT’S ALL THEIR FAULT!! 🙂

One Republican Senate aide, however, shot back in an email to The Daily Caller, saying that the White House only recently sent over the agreements for Congress’ approval. The aide also said that when it comes to tax breaks for corporate jets, “Who would really bear the brunt — wealthy corporate jet owners or the workers who build the jets?”

On the president’s call to put construction workers back to work, presumably through government-sponsored projects, the aide said, “He [Obama] said the same thing before the stimulus and it turned out to be a complete hoax. Only a tiny portion of the stimulus went to infrastructure … Also, we simply can’t afford it and the stimulus has proven we can’t spend our way to prosperity.”

But that’s the sacred cow of the Left though so that doesn’t exist. 🙂

Obama 2.0

Obama smiled and interjected, “Shovel-ready was not as … uh .. shovel-ready as we expected.”

The Obama administration promised the Recovery Act (“the stimulus”) would prevent the jobless rate from going over 8%.

It’s been over 8% SINCE and the $800 billion was flushed down the toilet to temporarily save Union jobs and state budgets only.

“If you were looking for a bunch of partisan rhetoric, I’m probably not  your guy,” President Obama said at a fundraiser in Miami. (He’ll leave that to he’s apparatchiks and the media).

<<Industrial Strength Barf Bag Please>>

It’s Obama 2.0!!

But it’s incumbent 🙂 upon you to forget everything you know for the last 3+ years and go for the rock-star Obama because he’s such a great speaker and a really swell guy!

Screw the fact that unemployment has been over 8% SINCE HE TOOK OFFICE!!

ObamaCare

Libya

Unemployment

Choking Regulations

Class Warfare

“Throwing Grandma off a Cliff”

“You gotta pass the bill to know what’s in it” (Pelosi)

“I want to be the President not just of Blue States…” 🙂

The Democrats haven’t passed a budget in 776 days!

The 72 rounds of golf

The lies, distortion, and just outright socialism.

Bill Ayers

Jeremiah Wright

The Obama Economic Team’s revolving door of failures in Keynesian Economics.

Quantitative Easing (aka make the dollar’s exchange rate worse so they look better)

IRS, TSA, EPA, Cap & Trade, and Amnesty.

Forget all about it.

It’s Obama 2.0: The Reboot.

And the Liberal Media will be more than happy to play along.

Oh, and if you are going to challenge the Annoited One for his re-coronation as Bob Bechel said on Hannity last night expect it to get very personal, “they will be the issue”.

The Democrats won’t talk about the issues. Oh Hell no!

They will just use fearmongering and they will get out all the Ad Hominem Nukes they have in their arsenal and build all new ones.

And they won’t wait for the Republicans to nominate someone, they will nuke them all and when the winner is chosen that person will be under 24/7/365 all out bombardment.

The person they were rude to in pre-school over a crayon will be dragged out to say how evil they are.

There will be plenty of lies to boot.

It will be a War of Armageddon.

It’s not like Democrats have an standards for morals or ethics. That just gets in the way of them getting what they want, when they want it, because they want it.

And what they want is an Obama Presidency where they can just chuck all consideration and just go for it. If he’s not running for re-election after 2o12 and ObamaCare comes online in 2013 and 2014, Socialist Utopia awaits!!! No holds barred!

And they will do or say anything to get it.

So the Republican better get ready for an all out war of armageddon. The Democrats are arming themselves.

And the hoped for $1 Billion Dollars (the largest campaign cash reserve in history) and a very compliant Liberal Media will be very helpful to their cause.

The main thing standing in their way is….YOU!

You, the American Voter, can still stop them. You have to stop them.

Or your future, your kids future is gone.

That’s not fearmongering. That’s the truth.

$15 Trillion in Debt and the Democrats want to spend even more.

ObamaCare will destroy your job.

Every 7.2 seconds for the next 18 years a baby boomer retires looking for their pot of government gold. Only there is no gold left now, let alone for your kids.

So your kids will be supporting the unsustainable.

And the Democrats don’t care.

Seriously, they don’t care. As long as they have the power to control you they don’t care what you think because they want to control that to.

Simple, really.

Oh, and if you don’t vote for them, YOU’RE A RACIST! 🙂

The Republicans are far from perfect. They are wimps and “old boys”. But compared to the Democrats, there is no choice.

There is no time.

Now or Never.

Obama 2.0 or America 2.0

Your Choice.

Choose wisely.
