In The Eyes of The Left

let me tell you what really happened.

Once upon a time there was an evil pizzeria that catered to the lowest form of religious bigotry. They waited for years, opening the store almost a decade ago. They knew that the gays were coming. And they wanted to put a stop to it. Or, at least, to capitalize financially off of it. And when Indiana passed its RFRA law, they saw their chance.

Oh, sure, we think that the local news reporter “just happened” to drive some 20 miles to find a pizza joint that was itching to deny service to gay people. But that’s a pretty big coincidence, don’t you think? How do we know she didn’t get an anonymous tip? How do we know that this reporter wasn’t in on the con? Simple answer: we don’t. OPEN YOUR EYES, SHEEPLE. CONNECT THE DOTS.

So then the reporter airs her report, the headline of which very misleadingly suggests the pizza joint would never want to serve gay people their delicious pies. (Was this sloppiness or intentional misdirection designed to gin up outrage—and thus a money-making backlash to the outrage? You decide.) There was much anger as entirely just warriors for goodness suggested we calmly burn the witch and her family’s business to the ground and others made death threats. Their Yelp page was defaced by good people doing good work. These bigots were named and shamed, called out and ruined!

But here’s where the really devious part of the grift kicked in. It was all a con. A con designed to rake in money from similarly minded bigots, of which there is no end in America. And the con worked! The family made hundreds of thousands of dollars via Go Fund Me.

Sonny Bunch’s description above is in jest as he laughs, along with myself, at the idiocy of these truthers.

And the gay people who donated to the GoFundMe because they wanted to apologize for their fellow brethren’s extremism were just suckers who fell for the scam.

They just can’t seem to wrap there heads around the fact that their attacks went too far so to explain it all it just HAD to be a conspiracy. Just to make themselves feel better about their attacks. (Flopping Aces)

This Article in the Atlantic is very well said: http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2015/04/should-businesses-that-quietly-oppose-gay-marriage-be-destroyed/389489/?utm_source=btn-twitter-ppr

In essence: The question I’d ask those who want to use non-state means to punish mom-and-pop businesses that decline to cater gay weddings is what, exactly, their notion of a fair punishment is. Nearly every supporter of gay marriage is on board with efforts to publicly tell people that their position is wrongheaded–I’ve participated in efforts like that for years and insist that respectful critique and persuasion is more effective than shaming. What about other approaches? If their Yelp rating goes down by a star does the punishment fit the “crime”? Is there a financial loss at which social pressure goes from appropriate to too much? How about putting them out of business? Digital mobs insulting them and their children? Email and phone threats from anonymous Internet users? If you think that any of those go too far have you spoken up against the people using those tactics?

(If not, is it because you’re afraid they might turn on you?)

A relatively big digital mob has been attacking this powerless family in rural Indiana,** but I don’t get the sense that its participants have reflected on or even thought of these questions. I don’t think they recognize how ugly, intolerant and extreme their actions appear or the effect they’ll have on Americans beyond the mainstream media, or that their vitriolic shaming these people has ultimately made them into martyrs. I fear that a backlash against their tactics will weaken support for the better angels of the gay rights movement at a time when more progress needs to be made, and that they’re turning traditionalists into a fearful, alienated minority with a posture of defensiveness that closes them off to persuasion.

And that’s a shame.

**I’d be fascinated to how many grandparents of mob participants oppose gay marriage and what degree of social stigma they would want directed toward them.(Atlantic Magazine)

You know, the OLD SOUTH that fought to keep slavery and their children, the ones who opposed Civil Rights in the 60’s (Democrats mostly).

The eyes of the real history are upon you. But the Modern Left turns a blind eye to it’s own history because it doesn’t fit their sanctimonious agenda.

Fascinating.

Mindless Zombies

Political Cartoons by Dana Summers

Remember way back in 2009 when D.C. Democrats were promising that the $787-billion you-know-what program was going to start you-know-whating the economy almost immediately with those shovel-ready projects that were going to keep unemployment below 8%?

Well, tomorrow night you’re going to get the same ugly pig trotted out with new lipstick.

“stimulus” has been banned and officially does not exist anymore.

The unions would love it. And although their membership is only 11% of U.S. workers now, they make up a much higher percentage of the crumbling political base Obama needs to win reelection.

So, Pelosi has launched a campaign to pressure Obama to include some kind of gigantic “job creation” package in his grand Thursday night jobs address to Congress that will finally surely fix the nation’s troubled economy once and for all.

He’s had — what? — 961 days to get his economy act together and chew through all those economic advisors. Obama won’t be calling his plans S-plans either. They’ll be investments, which sound less lethal than another dying S-word, “spending.”

Also, FYI, “Recovery Act” is also gone the way of the Obama administration’s “man-caused disaster.” Now, it’ll be something about Made in America. Make It in America. That sort of thing. Which will make all the difference in the world.

It’s Miss Pig In the Pork 2011. Time to “invest” (spending-most for unions) in “job creation” (mostly for unions). Again…

Don’t worry, Be Happy…

So if you’re an angry Liberal have I got the release for you…

Angry liberals can now vicariously hunt down and kill the world’s most dangerous prey.  No, not human beings; Tea Party Zombies.  The Left continues to usher in our great new age of selective “civility” with the introduction of TeaPartyZombiesMustDie.com.

You know what they say: Never negotiate with terrorists. It only encourages them. These last few months, much of the country has watched in horror as the Tea Party Republicans have waged jihad on the American people. Their intransigent demands for deep spending cuts, coupled with their almost gleeful willingness to destroy one of America’s most invaluable assets, its full faith and credit, were incredibly irresponsible. But they didn’t care. Their goal, they believed, was worth blowing up the country for, if that’s what it took.

For now, the Tea Party Republicans can put aside their suicide vests. But rest assured: They’ll have them on again soon enough. After all, they’ve gotten so much encouragement. (NY Times)

And yet you know the next time there’s the slightest, remotely exploitable tragedy or hint of violence, the same reporters, editors, producers and politicians are going to insist that blood was spilled because of the right wing’s rhetoric.

Or even if no blood is spilled, they are all racists anyhow so why would it matter.

Hence, conservatives have morphed from figurative bogeymen into virtual, butcherable bogeymen.  I’ll admit that if liberals hadn’t wet themselves repeatedly during their pious civility crusades, maybe — just maybe — I’d find this game slightly entertaining.  But any propensity towards amusement is immediately stricken from my imagination the instant I picture the indignant media firestorm that would undoubtedly arise if the growling death targets resembled, say, Barack Obama.  In case you’re unclear on the rules of the rhetorical road, here’s a user-friendly recap:

Anti-conservative death fantasy game: Oh, lighten up, wingnuts — it’s just a silly game.

Anti-Obama death fantasy game: National. Crisis.  Hell, the emergency would be so acute, Congress might even reinstate bipartisan seating for Thursday’s presidential address.

To our valued Lefty readers: Don’t even try to pretend I’m inventing a nonexistent double-standard here. Spare me.  Oh, and to save you the trouble, once you’ve slain every last terrorist/racist/zombie, you’re rewarded with the following “victory” screenshot.  Congratulations, creep: (Guy Benson)

Politicians, intellectuals and whole armies of caretaker bureaucrats are among those who benefit, in one way or another, from picturing parasites as victims, and their lags behind the rest of society as reasons for anger rather than achievement.

Leading people into the blind alley of dependency and grievances may be counterproductive for them but it can produce votes, money, power, fame and a sense of exaltation to others who portray themselves as friends of the downtrodden...For those who think in terms of scoring talking points — as distinguished from trying to get at the truth — this kind of argument may sound good. The Speech

I will give the President props. He gave a great speech.

“Bad things happen,” Obama said, “and we must guard against simple explanations in the aftermath.”

Hello, Mainstream Media and MSDNC!

He took shots at the LEFT and the media that went crazy, which I didn’t think he would.

He sounded Presidential for the first time ever.

But will it last and will he and the Democrats grow up and be that angel of our better nature and be able to live up to soaring speech about living up to the child’s vision of Christina Taylor Green. “I want us to live up to her expectations. I want our democracy to be as good as she imagined it,” Obama said.

“We may not be able to stop all evil in the world, but I know that how we treat one another is entirely up to us.” -President Obama.

“Let’s remember that it is not because a simple lack of civility caused this tragedy. It did not,” the president said.

He admonished against any instinct to point blame or to drift into political pettiness or to latch onto simple explanations that may have no merit.

Lofty words. But will his party of Social Justice nutbags temper themselves and be more civil to those with whom they disagree?

I doubt it.

I am too cynical.

I just have to think, I will get them to re-elect me in 2012 and then we got them! Heh heh heh… This is my cunning plan!

That and when he gets back to Washington DC Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, the Queen, will slap him and say “I am not amused…” 🙂

Sorry, that’s me.

Arizona has been through a lot in the last few years.

Illegal Immigration gangs and Cartel killings.

A Governor who abandons her post to be the Peter Principle of the New President and then blows us off. (Janet Napalitano)

She said Illegal Immigration was a “federal problem” and then we she was the Fed she largely ignored us and said “it’s more secure than ever”.

So that’s why we have snipers in the hills of the border and thousands of drug dealers coming over the border, agents killed, ranchers killed, and signs near the border saying Americans should stay away because it’s too dangerous IN THEIR OWN COUNTRY.

So when we try and address the issue, the Government sues us and we all get tarred as “racists”.

When I saw Napalitano at the Memorial my first thought was “Well, we finally got her to come back here. Can we rope her and tie her to border”.

And I saw Eric Holder, and wondered if now that he was here we could convince him that we aren’t all angry white racists and bigots.

Both decided to read for the Bible instead at the Memorial.

They know the Bible?? Aren’t most Progressives secular and God and Christianity is evil (clinging to their guns and religion, right-wingers, etc)??

Isn’t this “government sanctioning religion”??

Will the ACLU sue them. 🙂

“At a time when our discourse has become so sharply polarized — at a time when we are far too eager to lay the blame for all that ails the world at the feet of those who think differently than we do — it’s important for us to pause for a moment and make sure that we are talking with each other in a way that heals, not a way that wounds,” the president said.

I would like to believe it, but I am too cynical. So I take the Ronald Reagan attitude of “trust but verify”. I don’t trust the Left. Period.

It sounded good. But if it is not acted on it is but sound and “fury” signifying nothing.

The Day before the shooting the Obama administration planned to announce plans for an Internet identity system that will limit fraud and streamline online transactions, leading to a surge in Web commerce, officials said.

What it will really do is make the government the nanny of the internet and of course with Mr Loughner’s well known use of the Internet it will be the Left’s opportunity to regulate the internet to our death.

Ve vill be vatching you! (bad german accent)

So not much has changed.

Been There. Done that got the T-Shirt.

The “capitalist” T-Shirt sold at the McKale Center at U of A Memorial service.
“i don’t understand how the Right can get all butthurt about coming together…it just seems…i mean…someone was shot in the fu**ing head…a congresswoman…and you can’t, for one goddamn second stop with all the BS and just join hands and even if you’re not a believer…at least close your eyes and hope?…wtf is wrong with these people?” (TPM-a liberal blog- reader comment)

Now that’s striking a new tone, don’t you think! 🙂

Can the Left grow up and stop the childish and churlish ad hominems and be civil.
I very much doubt it.
So, American Left, prove me wrong. I dare you! 🙂

Comedy & Tragedy

At a fundraising dinner after the rally in Minneapolis, Obama was frank with the 100 attendees who paid between $2,500 and $50,000 to attend. (But they aren’t “rich”…)
“I’ve got to admit, Mr. President, sometimes over the last couple of years, with all the negative ads and all the money that’s been pouring in, all the filibustering and obstruction in Congress, sometimes I just start losing altitude, start losing hope,” Obama said. “It just seems like change is so hard to bring about.” (Daily Caller)
What were they serving, Talking Points?  Because this guy swallowed them whole and is now regurgitating them.
And he paid big bucks for the “privilege” of being in the Almighty’s presence and vomiting up Talking Points.
Yikes!!
Speaking of Talking Points:

“Everything was going great and all of a sudden secret money from God knows where – because they won’t disclose it – is pouring in,” Pelosi said.

Obama, who has attacked the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and American Crossroads in the past week or two, did not mention any organizations by name on Saturday but called them “phony front groups.”

“They are pouring millions of dollars through a network of phony front groups, flooding the airwaves with misleading attack ads,” Obama said, reprising his charge that the money from unkown donors is “a threat to our democracy.”

Two Words for you, Mr President: GEORGE SOROS!  🙂

Did you know he gave NPR 1.8 million dollars? Or that the main push to fire Juan Williams was CAIR (The Council on American Islamic Relations) a “civil rights advocacy” group just like the NAACP thinks they are, but for terrorists instead.

No, you probably don’t care.  You’re too busy campaigning for yourself. And your Ministry of Truth Media doesn’t care either.

So how is business going to feel about you after you continue to trash them now, AFTER the election?? Hmmm…

FUTURE OBAMACARE UPDATE

The numbers are as startling as tragic. According to the Daily Mail, “Up to 20,000 people have died needlessly early after being denied cancer drugs on the NHS, it was revealed yesterday. The rationing body NICE has failed to keep a promise to make more life-extending drugs available.”

British cancer patients are routinely denied access to critical life-extending drugs because of their costs.

The Telegraph noted two year ago, that the British health care system’s decision to deny patients four kidney cancer drugs on the NHS was denounced by doctors as ‘poor’ and ‘unsuitable’. They said it was a “tragedy” that Britain’s leading role in cancer research was not being translated into treatment for all patients, who were often left struggling to pay for the drugs themselves. The decision has led patients to mortgage their house in order to obtain the drugs and treatment they need to survive.

The occurrences on the other side of the pond are notable not because they are rare, but because they are commonplace. There are no howls of protests from patients who are powerless and are forced to live under the dictates of bureaucrats who make life and death decisions based upon budget constraints and not what’s best for the patients. This is the fundamental basis of government-run health care.

And Americans are perhaps 60 days away from our cancer patients suffering a similar fate.

That’s because the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has apparently opened the door to using cost as part of their evaluation process for drugs. The late-stage cancer drug Avastin has been proven effective in extending the life of cancer patients. Rather than testing the safety and efficacy of the drug, the FDA created a new standard that would allow patients who could afford the drug to use it, while those who cannot would be denied their use.

They are considering “de-labeling” the drug for breast cancer patients – essentially allowing Medicare and private insurance to deny coverage of the drug under their policies.

The FDA has moved a final decision about the fate of Avastin and breast cancer patients until after the elections. Not a great sign.

Will the American people accept the bureaucratic dictates that will deny them to a valuable treatment option or will they stand up and say rationing is not the American way? (Townhall)

Ah, the wonders to be had by ObamaCare. But don’t worry, according to the Democrats it’s just “misunderstood” and a “lack of communication”.

In their view, you’re too dumb to understand the wonderment of ObamaCare as demonstrated by it’s Cousin, The NHS.

So re-elect Democrats so they can bring on the Public Option and take complete and total absolute control of who lives and who dies, how and when. At their beck-and-call.

And it will bring down the deficit to boot!!  (yes, they are still touting that Fairy Tale- PA Governor Ed Rendell was touting it mightily on FOX the other night).

Doesn’t that sound like Utopia to you! 😦

A survey by the National Business Group on Health that found that roughly 63% of businesses plan to make their workers pay a higher portion of their health care insurance costs next year.

One might reasonably ask why an entrepreneur would start a new business knowing that once she navigates the usual business risks, negotiates the regulation-burdened, lending-leery Main Street banks, now reluctant to finance a new venture or expansion, and she climbs the trough of the J-curve into profitability, the tax man is hovering to further dampen the business’ prospects.

So you have ObamaCare, Cap-n-Trade, The EPA, a racially-blind Justice dept, and the Democrats wish for the Public Option.

No reason to fear.

The only scenario that can save their businesses is to drop their insurance, pay the penalty and dump their employees onto the government-mandated exchange. Even paying the penalty may push low-profit-margin rural small businesses into the red, forcing them to downsize their work force.

Perhaps the most pernicious of the administration’s tax policy concoctions is the 2011 reinstatement of the death tax. Aged ranchers and farmers contemplate dying this year rather than next, when the tax goes from the current zero rate to a maximum of 55%.

As a result, some intend to discontinue dialysis or other life-extending treatments this fall, going to their graves with the knowledge that they could not cheat death but that they could keep the family ranch in the family.

In agriculture circles, Dec. 31, 2010, is being referred to as “Kevorkian Day” — I kid you not. The president and his departing team of advisers are apparently oblivious to such concerns, advocating for such class-based tax increases in 2011. (REP. CYNTHIA LUMMIS R-WY)

Attack of The Commie Chihuahas

Before I get off on the main rant I found this in the Wall Street Journal and is very indicative of the Progressive Left and Obama and Co. in general.

Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner said he would use weekend meetings of G-20 finance ministers to advance efforts to “rebalance” the world economy so it is less reliant on U.S. consumers, to move toward establishing “norms” on exchange-rate policy, and to persuade others the U.S. doesn’t aim to devalue its way to prosperity.

In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Mr. Geithner said the world sorely needs to agree on guidelines for exchange-rate policy. “Right now, there is no established sense of what’s fair,” he said.

If you won’t stop depending on the US and it’s consumers for the world economy we’ll force you. After all, we are just a bunch of greedy pigs who deserve to be downgraded because it’s only “fair”.

Devalue it’s way to prosperity?

“The rest of the world wants us to save more—and that means less U.S. demand for the rest of the world. Demand is going have to come from other sources,” Mr. Geithner said.

Gee, I thought that was at the heart of Obamanomics. 🙂

***************************

Democrats battle imaginary racist conspiracies, claim that ghostly foreign financiers oppose them and even smear one Republican with bizarre kidnapping charges. Can’t they just run on their record?

The 111th Congress fulfilled liberal Democrats’ decades-long goal of government-run health care, spent over a trillion dollars on a Keynesian stimulus that promised millions of yet-to-arrive jobs and punished Wall Street for the financial crisis with a massive new regulatory regime.

So shouldn’t running for re-election be simple?

That’s the way many pundits confidently said it would be. Before Newsweek was sold for a dollar — a fraction of the newsstand price for a single issue — its editor was claiming that Barack Obama was a “Burkean” conservative (in the mold of Edmund Burke, the 18th century British parliamentarian and scourge of the French Revolution), in tune for the long term with center-right America.

New York Times Book Review editor Sam Tanenhaus wrote a book on conservatism being dead now that “the Democrats are in charge and, in Obama, have a leader of rare political skills.”

Now, seemingly overnight, Democrats may lose their majority in the House, and in the Senate their majority leader maybe unseated.

So they’ve decided on the Hail Mary pass. Since they think Republicans are nut jobs, maybe they can convince voters of it.

Those thousands of Tea Partyers, including many women? They can’t be a true populist uprising. So the NAACP, a stalwart ally of liberal Democrats, unveils an October Surprise: a report charging that the Tea Party is chock full of “anti-Semites, racists and bigots.”

This week, House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Henry Waxman reiterated the White House’s charge — backed by zero evidence — that the U.S. Chamber of Commerce financed ads against liberal Democrats with cash from foreign corporations.

Congress invites a comedian like Stephen Colbert to testify; the president plans to tarnish his high office by appearing on Comedy Central. With no winning issues to run on, Democrats seem to have embraced the politics of the absurd. (IBD)

The report released by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (Colored people? Isn’t that a racial slur? :)) argues that Tea Party groups “have given platform to anti-Semites, racists and bigots,” and have attracted white nationalists looking for recruits.

“The Tea Party movement has unleashed a still inchoate political movement who are in their numerical majority, angry middle-class white people who believe their country, their nation, has been taken from them,” it says. (WSJ)

I have new name for the NAACP. The National Association of The American Communist Party. They sure aren’t into civil rights anymore.

They are just a partisan attack dog for the Far left Progressives in the Democratic Party. And that’s it.

So you get these little yappy attack dogs who just bark and yip about “racism” and “bigotry” the moment you disagree with them or their God.

I think I preferred “Yo quiero Taco Bell”.  But even that chihuahua was fired for not selling enough Tacos.

Can we fire the NAACP for not even giving a crap about civil rights, or even civility?

But the report also points to signs at Tea Party rallies with explicitly racist or racially charged language. It notes that several black congressmen accused Tea Party supporters of shouting racial epithets at them during a rally against health care legislation on Capitol Hill in March. Mr. Jealous called on Tea Party leaders to repudiate this kind of racism, as well as ties to white supremacist groups and “birthers” within the ranks of the movement.

This was a very long time ago in politics. There was a $100,000 reward for anyone who had documented proof that this incident ever even happened. No one ever came forward. No evidence was ever presented.

Like the Far left needs evidence and facts to back up their childish over-the-top hysterical claims. Like they care.

The end justifies the means.

Morals and ethics are irrelevant.

More from the NAACP:

“We have to have particular concern about supremacy attitudes, violence, hate language, particularly when it’s rooted in notions of restoring or taking back or redeeming the country,” Barber said. “Because, in the American social-historical-political psyche, we have historical markers that tell us how dangerous this is to be given legitimacy.”

For instance:

“We know in 1867 when the Ku Klux Klan, for instance, laid out its political purposes, it was about restoring and re-enfranchising, if you will.”

“And then when you go to the Reconstruction Era, you find this same attempt to spew this division, this hate language out…. ‘We need to restore America. We need to take it back.'”

Barber moved on to 1963. “When George Wallace used this language and themes of division, very vitriolic hate language,” Barber said, “Medgar Evers was killed in June of that year… We had the bombing of a church, four girls were killed at Sunday school and then we had a president assassinated.” (Washington Post)

This would be the President that if he tried to run today as a Democrat he’d be run out of the party so fast the earth’s rotation would reverse, right? 🙂

And of course, the logic errors and over generalizations and hysterical partisan Alinsky tactics in all this are very apparent but since the end justifies the means what does it matter to them.

As long as you’re stupid enough to be influenced to either stay home and not vote them out or to vote FOR them what do they care.

They are earnestly concerned that anyone who disagrees with their Messiah must be an unbeliever and must be exposed as a witch and burnt at the stake.

Sorry, that’s Christine O’Donnell. :0

You Heathens!

‘It is evil when anyone person feels like their child is better than any other child and it’s evil when they take the money that all of have suffered to put into this community and use it for their benefit as opposed to all of our benefit,” said Rev. Kojo Nantambu, Charlotte Chapter President of the NAACP. (foxcharlotte.com)

Mind you he was talking about the School district there’s plans to close some schools (naturally only “white” schools should be closed).  But I can only wish he felt the same way about the organization itself.

But alas…

“Part of the reason that our politics seems so tough right now, and facts and science and argument do not seem to be winning the day all the time, is because we’re hard-wired not to always think clearly when we’re scared,” Obama told Democratic donors at a fundraiser in Massachusetts last week. “And the country is scared.”–President Obama.

Democrats are asking voters to think twice about the consequences of pointing those fingers.

Democrats appear united in warning voters against the dangers of making ballot-box choices rashly because of their discontent with the status quo.(MSNBC)

Now that they are the “status quo” and not Bush/Cheney/Rove. Remember all that anger at Bush that still exists today?

Well, that’s “good” anger.

Wanting to throw the Democrats out of power, that’s “bad” anger. 🙂

So all you “scared” “angry” “racists” out there vote on November 2 and vote bums out!

Keep it Simple

Michael Ramirez Cartoon

Want to get a sense of how serious the Democrats are about listening to the will of the people and not their own ideological wet-dreams?

“Reelect me, keep Democrats on the field. And when we come back next year, maybe we will get to the public option,” Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-S.C.) said during an appearance on the Tom Joyner Morning Show.

2. While posing as campaign finance champions, the ultimate goal of the Democratic offensive is to intimidate conservative donors, chill political free speech and drain Republican coffers.

Chamber of Commerce official Bruce Josten tried to educate the public. “(W)e know what the purpose here is,” he told ABC News. “It’s to harass and intimidate.” Josten cited protests and threats against chamber members as retribution for ads the organization ran opposing the federal health care takeover. (Michelle Malkin)

Moveon.org anyone? (founded and funded  by Foreign Socialist Billionaire George Soros by the way)

3. Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House: When asked if she would debate her opponent in a townhall-type meeting she blew them off saying, “Let me tell you what my priorities are. My priorities are to elect a Democratic Congress. In order to do that, it is essential for me – time is money for me. [Traveling] around this country, to amass the resources to put my candidates on TV. Whether I get a bigger majority or not in my district is not the point.”

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tC4xMOwldSk

Good to have your priorities, straight. But then again, she knows the San Francisco uber-liberals would never vote against her no matter what she does (unless she turned into a non-uber-liberal that is). She’s Super-Lib!

The New York Times, a flea market of liberal activism, is chalking up Obama’s decline to the stupidity of the American people. A recent Times editorial put forth: “Insurgent Republicans don’t need details when they can play on the furious emotions of voters who have been misled into believing that positive changes like the health care law are catastrophic failures.”(Bill O’Reilly)

The fact that a solid majority of Americans have been against this monster since the Summer of 2009 makes to no impact on Liberals because they want what they want when they want it and will throw a giant hissy fit if they don’t get it or someone threatens to take their toys away.

It’s that simple.

By Victor Davis Hanson: We will learn in November just how angry the public is about a lot of things, from higher taxes to massive unemployment.

But the popular uproar pales in comparison to the sense of humiliation that we Americans are quite broke. In 2008, the public was furious at George W. Bush, not because he was too much of a right-wing tightwad, but because he ran up a series of what were then thought to be gargantuan deficits. The result was that under a supposedly conservative administration, and despite six years of an allegedly small-government Republican Congress, the deficit nearly doubled from $3.3 trillion to $6.3 trillion in just eight years.

Barack Obama apparently never figured out that he had been elected in part because that massive Republican borrowing had sickened the American people. So in near-suicidal fashion, he took Bush’s last scheduled budget deficit of more than $500 billion — in a Keynesian attempt to get the country out of the 2008 recession and financial panic — and nearly tripled it by 2010. Obama’s new red ink will add more than $2.5 trillion to the national debt — with near-trillion-dollar yearly deficits scheduled for the next decade. All of that will result in a U.S. debt of more than $20 trillion.

What exactly is it about big deficits and our accumulated debt that is starting to enrage voters?

First, the public is tired of the nonchalant way that smarmy public officials take credit for dishing out someone else’s cash without a thought of paying for it. Each week, President Obama promises another interest group more freshly borrowed billions, now euphemistically called “stimulus.” But the more public money he hands out to states, public employees, the unemployed or the green industry, the more voters wonder where in the world he’s getting the cash. The next time a public official puts his name on yet another earmarked federal project, let him at least confess whether it was floated with borrowed money.

Second, there is a growing sense of despair that even vastly increased income taxes cannot cover the colossal shortfalls. At least the old Clinton tax rates of the 1990s balanced the budget. But should we bring them back, we would still run a deficit of more than $1 trillion in 2011 — given the vast increases in federal spending.

That bleak reality creates hopelessness — and anger — among voters, who feel they are being taken for fools by their elected officials. The public opposes tax hikes not because they don’t wish to pay down the debt, but because they suspect the increased revenue will simply be a green light for even greater deficit spending.

Third, it does no good for Beltway technocrats to explain how deficits are good at “stimulating” the economy, or why they do not really have to be paid back. Voters know that such gibberish does not apply to their own mortgages and credit card bills.

Voters feel relieved when they can pay off debt and become chronically depressed when they cannot. When the government last balanced the budget in 2000 under the Clinton administration and the Republican Congress, the country collectively experienced as much of a psychological high as it is now collectively experiencing humiliation over being ridiculed as a spendthrift borrower.

So national reputation and sense of self also matter. Americans are tired of hearing about inevitable Chinese ascendency and American decline. They know China is still in many ways a repressive developing country facing huge political, environmental and demographic challenges. But Americans also concede that China’s huge budget and trade surpluses result in trillions of dollars in cash reserves — and hence global clout, world respect and a promising future that seems not likewise true of spend now/pay later America.

Fourth, there is real fear that something terrible will soon come from this unsustainable level of spending. Interest rates are at historic lows. But if they should rise, just servicing the current debt would cost even more hundreds of billions in borrowed dollars. Soon, we will face a bleak choice of either slashing national defense or Social Security — or both — just when the nation is graying and the world is becoming more dangerous than ever. Will the Chinese lend us the money to deploy an aircraft carrier off their coast, or finance new American health-care entitlements that they cannot afford for 400 million of their own people?

In this upcoming election, all the old political pluses — years of incumbency, entrenched seniority and pork-barrel earmarks — are proving to be liabilities. Instead, the more public officials admit to being in control when trillions of dollars were run up, the more Americans want them gone.

We are humiliated by what we owe. If we cannot pay it back, we’ll at least want political payback.

It’s that simple this year.

But it’s really hard to blame the Democrats for such childish behavior. After all, would you want to run on their record?
