Deli Delights & Global Warming Threats

President Barack Obama downplayed the threat of terrorism in an interview with Vox published Monday, referring to the four Jewish victims murdered by radical Islamists during an hours-long standoff at a Kosher deli in Paris as “a bunch of folks” who were “randomly” shot.

“It is entirely legitimate for the American people to be deeply concerned when you’ve got a bunch of violent, vicious zealots who behead people or randomly shoot a bunch of folks in a deli in Paris,” Obama said.

He continued: “We devote enormous resources to that, and it is right and appropriate for us to be vigilant and aggressive in trying to deal with that — the same way a big city mayor’s got to cut the crime rate down if he wants that city to thrive. But we also have to attend to a lot of other issues, and we’ve got to make sure we’re right-sizing our approach so that what we do isn’t counterproductive. I would argue that our invasion of Iraq was counterproductive to the goal of keeping our country safe.”

So Islamic Terrorism is just random acts by crazy people much like the crime that goes on in your city.

Who cares about 4 Jews anyways…It’s like an Ambassador and 3 others in Benghazi, no big deal, means nothing. Move on.

Gee, the only terrorist like “random” acts around these parts come from Drug Cartels on the border that’s so “secure” that Obama ignores it. 🙂

Oh, and those “random” guys just sacked Yemen.

As the State Dept. spokesperson downplayed America’s role in Yemen’s current problems, Kelly continued to grill her about previous statements President Barack Obama has made, holding up that country as a positive example of progress in the Middle East.

Ultimately, Psaki denied Kelly’s suggestion that there was not a plan in place for the evacuation, saying, “Just because everybody didn’t know what the plans were, it didn’t mean the plans weren’t there for weeks.”

I’m sure it was a “spontaneous demonstration” just like in Benghazi. 🙂

But don’t worry, Global Warming is a MUCH Bigger threat than these “random” guys are, for sure.

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest confirmed Tuesday that President Obama does believe that climate change is a greater threat to the country’s national security than terrorism.
In an interview with Vox released Monday, Obama said he “absolutely” believes that the media “sometimes overstates the level of alarm people should have about terrorism” as opposed to “climate change.”

Asked to confirm Tuesday if this means Obama believes “the threat of climate change is greater than the threat of terrorism,” Earnest responded, “The point the president is making is that there are many more people on an annual basis who have to confront the impact, the direct impact on their lives, of climate change, or on the spread of a disease, than on terrorism.”

Asked again, “So the answer is yes, the president thinks that climate change is a greater threat than terrorism,” Earnest responded, “The point that the president is making is that when you are talking about the direct daily impact of these kinds of challenges on the daily lives of Americans, particularly Americans living in this country, that that direct impact, that more people are affected by those things than by terrorism.”

Asked one more time if “climate change is more of a clear and present danger to the United States than terrorism,” Earnest shifted gears, “Well I think even the Department of Defense has spoken to the significant the threat that climate change poses to our national security interests, principally because of the impact it can have on countries with less well developed infrastructure than we have.”

At the beginning of the briefing, Earnest read a moving tribute to Kaya Mueller, an American woman who was killed recently while in the custody of the Islamic State. Earnest did not say how many Americans climate change has killed this year.

Now don’t you feel so much better, safer, and secure. 🙂
