Rational Thought?

Political Cartoons by Chuck Asay

That President Obama lost roughly 40 percent of the vote in Democratic primaries in Arkansas, Kentucky and West Virginia over the last two weeks has drawn massive national headlines.

Those headlines have drawn a collective eyeroll from Democrats and a yawn from the Liberal Media and cries of “racism” yet again…

Former Texas Rep. Charlie Stenholm, a longtime conservative Democrat, acknowledged that “race is definitely a factor for some Texans but not the majority,” adding: “The most significant factor is the perception/reality that the Obama administration has leaned toward the ultra-left viewpoint on almost all issues.”

Martin Frost, another former Texas Democratic Congressman, seconded that notion. “In states like West Virginia and Oklahoma, it’s just that voters are down on national Democrats generally, and I don’t believe it is due to race,” said Frost.

Other theories abound. The average voter in Appalachia and the South is simply more conservative than they believe Obama to be. His Administration’s policies regarding mining have hurt him in coal country. Obama’s academic pedigree — Columbia, Harvard Law School — reek of elitism to many people in the South.

And besides, in the 1960’s when the Southern Democrats opposed Civil Rights Legislation… 🙂

“Race, resentment [and] fear,” explained Donna Brazile, a Louisiana native and Democratic strategist when asked about Obama’s underperformance. “Democrats have not had any messaging in those states for more than a decade. It’s hard to get voters to like you or even know you when all they hear is negative stuff.” (Washington Post)

Gee, just like the Liberal Media and their “Vote for The Democrat because the guy other is a whacko, crazy racist nutbag!! (and a white elitist capitalist pillager to boot!).

But, simply labeling the 42 percent of Kentuckians who supported “uncommitted” over Obama or the 41 percent of Arkansas who backed Tennessee lawyer John Wolfe over the incumbent as “racists” is a major oversimplification.(Washington Post)

But the Liberal media keeps going there anyhow because it really is the only thing they can honestly think of.

That, and their fake issue of “Birthers” (Rachael Maddow went about it for 25 minutes last night on MSNBC) . Since that started with a Democrat after all. But it’s a nice juicy distraction for the irrational mind to use rather than talking about real issues.

It couldn’t possibly be how bad the President has been, how bad the economy still is, how the Democrats refuse to pass a budget and still just want to Tax & Spend like they have for generations.

Nope. It can’t be that. 🙂

They just must be some dumb hillbilly and or racist hicks.

Dennis Prager: You cannot understand the left if you do not understand that Leftism is a religion. It is not God-based (some left-wing Christians’ and Jews’ claims notwithstanding), but otherwise it has every characteristic of a religion.

The most blatant of those characteristics is dogma. People who believe in Leftism have as many dogmas as the most fundamentalist Christian. One of them is material equality as the preeminent moral goal. Another is the villainy of corporations. The bigger the corporation, the greater the villainy.

Thus, instead of the devil, the left has Big Pharma, Big Tobacco, Big Oil, the “military-industrial complex” and the like. Meanwhile, Big Labor, Big Trial Lawyers and, of course, Big Government are left-wing angels. And why is that? Why, to be specific, does the left fear big corporations but not big government?

The answer is dogma — a belief system that transcends reason. No rational person can deny that big governments have caused almost all the great evils of the last century, arguably the bloodiest in history.

Who killed the 20-30 million Soviet citizens in the Gulag Archipelago — big government or big business? Hint: There were no private businesses in the Soviet Union. Who deliberately caused 75 million Chinese to starve to death — big government or big business? Hint: See previous hint. Did Coca Cola kill 5 million Ukrainians? Did Big Oil slaughter a quarter of the Cambodian population? Would there have been a Holocaust without the huge Nazi state?

Whatever bad big corporations have done is dwarfed by the monstrous crimes — the mass enslavement of people, the deprivation of the most basic human rights, not to mention the mass murder and torture and genocide — committed by big governments.

Rep. James Clyburn (S.C.), the third-ranking House Democrat, said Romney’s business practices amounted to “raping companies and leaving them in debt” for his own profit.

The Hill reported earlier this year that over the last three cycles, Democrats have accepted far more than the GOP in political donations from executives at Bain Capital.

But don’t expect the Liberal Media to let facts get in the way of their 24/7/365 Two- Minute Hate.

How can anyone who thinks rationally believe that big corporations rather than big governments pose the greatest threat to humanity? The answer is that it takes a mind distorted by leftist dogma. If there is another explanation, I do not know what it is.

Religious Christians and Jews also have some irrational beliefs, but their irrationality is overwhelmingly confined to theological matters. And these theological irrationalities have no deleterious impact on religious Jews’ and Christians’ ability to see the world rationally and morally. Few religious Jews or Christians believe that big corporations are in any way analogous to big government in terms of evil done. And the few who do are leftists.

That the left demonizes “Big Pharma,” for instance, is an example of left-wing thinking. America’s pharmaceutical companies have saved millions of lives, including millions of leftists’ lives. And I do not doubt that in order to increase profits, they have not always played by the rules.

But to demonize big pharmaceutical companies while lionizing big government, big labor unions and big trial law firms, is to stand morality on its head.

There is yet another reason to fear big government far more than big corporations. ExxonMobil has no police force, no IRS, no ability to arrest you, no ability to shut you up, and certainly no ability to kill you. ExxonMobil can’t knock on your door in the middle of the night and legally take you away. Apple Computer cannot take your money away without your consent, and it runs no prisons. The government does all of these things.

Of course, the left will respond that government also does good and that corporations and capitalists are, by their very nature, “greedy.”

To which the rational response is that, of course, government also does good. But so do the vast majority of corporations, private citizens, church groups and myriad voluntary associations. On the other hand, only big government can do anything approaching the monstrous evils of the last century.

As for greed: Between hunger for money and hunger for power, the latter is incomparably more frightening. It is noteworthy that none of the 20th century’s monsters – Lenin, Hitler, Stalin, Mao – were preoccupied with material gain. They loved power much more than money.

And that is why the left is much more frightening than the right. It craves power.

And it craves CONTROL of everyone and everything on a scale that is unmatched by anyone else outside of Communism that is. 🙂

Voters: Yeah, We Really Don’t Care What Romney Did In High School

Guy Benson: This poll was commissioned by the very newspaper that ran the now-infamous 5,500-word ‘bully’ story on its front page a few weeks ago.  Sorry, WaPo — voters aren’t buying what you’re selling.  Hit piece fail:

Most Americans by far dismiss the relevance of accusations that Mitt Romney bullied a high-school classmate, calling it off-point in the election debate – and indicating they’d say the same about Barack Obama’s behavior as a high-school student, as well. Three-quarters in this ABC News/Washington Post poll say the account of Romney’s high school behavior is not a serious matter, about as many say it doesn’t provide relevant information on his character, and nearly all – 90 percent – say it’s not a major factor in their vote preference.
The public also bristles at the very approach of the press investigating a candidate’s teenage exploits, an overwhelming distaste that cuts across partisan lines:

Most Americans, in any case, see the general approach as inappropriate: Seventy-five percent in this poll…say it’s unfair to bring up things a political candidate did in high school. Given the context of the bullying story, 89 percent of Republicans say so; that slips to 73 percent of independents and 66 percent of Democrats. Further, 72 percent think the specific bullying incident, first reported by The Washington Post, does not provide useful information about Romney’s character. That, too, engenders partisan divisions: Almost all Republicans (94 percent) think the incident isn’t relevant; 71 percent of independents and 59 percent of Democrats agree.
Incidentally, this data is mined from the same national survey that gave Democrats a ludicrous ten point sample advantage, resulting in The One’s thin lead over Romney.  So the public’s rejection of the Post’s advocacy journalism is probably even more comprehensive than even the 90 percent (!) figure indicates.  With the Obama campaign’s Bain crusade backfiring, the press is going to have to dig harder to help sink Romney.  Their failure to accomplish this task thus far clearly isn’t due to lack of effort.  Come on, guys, the American people demand more hot scoops on Ann Romney’s former horses, the Romney family’s Irish Setter circa 1983, and the actions of rogue Mormon militias in the mid-19th Century.

But you won’t hear it from The Left ,after all,  rational thought is not their strong suit.

The 2013 Homeland Security appropriations bill would increase one-way fees for passengers from $2.50 to $5 in order to close a budget shortfall at the Transportation Security Administration.

Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.) said the $315 million in funding would otherwise come from taxpayers and argued it is better to stick passengers who rely on TSA with the bill.

Does Mrs. “Louisiana Kickback” understand many of them ARE taxpayers? probably not. Or that Maybe the TSA, besides being a pedophilic mob of brutes and brainlessness is yet another government inefficiency.

Naw, Let’s just TAX & SPEND! The money never ever runs out. Spend more money and we’ll get more expensive brainless morons.

**********

And it’s Still Bush’s Fault! and if you elect Romney he’s just Bush.

Even nearly 4 years later the mindless obsession continues.

President Obama and his surrogates are making repeated references to the economic policies of former President George W. Bush, seeking to tie Mitt Romney’s platform to that of the previous administration.

Team Obama argues the Romney campaign is advocating tax and economic policies that would repeat the problems that put the country into recession, exacerbate income inequality and prevent middle-class Americans from getting a “fair shot.”

At a speech last week at Florida Atlantic University, Obama—without mentioning Bush by name — sought to link tax policies put forth by Romney and other top Republicans to Bush, drawing a distinct us-versus-them contrast.

“We tried this for eight years before I took office — we tried it,” Obama said to roaring applause from the college crowd. “It’s not like we didn’t try it.”

Obama went on to explain that “at the beginning of the last decade,” with Bush at the helm, the wealthiest Americans got two huge tax cuts while financial institutions were “allowed to write their own rules or find their way around rules.”

“We were told the same thing we’re being told now — ‘This is going to lead to faster job growth,’ ” Obama continued.

“ ‘This is going to lead to greater prosperity for everybody.’ Guess what? It didn’t.”

But neither have you. But then again….That’s Bush’s Fault! 🙂

Anyone else really tired of this dead horse?

And throw in your Class Warfare to boot. It’s like its 2008 and the last 4 years never happened.

Watch how history is manipulated in this quote:

“Yes, the rich got much richer, corporations made big profits,” he said of the Bush years during the speech at Florida Atlantic. “But we also had the slowest job growth in half a century. The typical American family actually saw their incomes fall by about 6 percent … healthcare premiums skyrocketed. Financial institutions started making bets with other people’s money. … And then our entire financial system collapsed. You remember that?”

He skillfully weaved the last 4 years in to look like they happened PRIOR to his administration and then blamed it all on Bush.

Are you that stupid? He hopes so. And the media will certainly help him.

Alinksy’s Rules For Radicals Rule 11: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, polarize it.

Here are a few gravity-defying pickings from today’s new ABC News/Washington Post Poll:

Only 16% of Americans say their economic situation has improved under Barack Obama’s reign. Fully 30% say their situation is worse. Yet 49% of these 1,004 registered voters back Obama’s reelection, while 46% prefer Mitt Romney.

Barely one-third of Americans (34%) blame Obama for the ongoing economic problems while nearly half (49%) blame George W. Bush, who hasn’t been around the Oval Office in his tie and coat for 1,218 days.

The poll reports that the man having the better personal character to be president is Obama, 52%-38%, over Romney. Not kidding here.

Of those Americans who say the economy is “not so good,” 58% still support the guy who added nearly a trillion stimulus dollars to the national debt to little noticeable effect.

In terms of who “better represents your personal values,” Obama beats Romney 47% to 43%.

Unemployment has been above 8% for the longest period in three-quarters of a century. So in terms of better understanding the economic problems people are enduring, the Democrat president who’s presided over the last 40 months beats Romney, 48%-40%. (IBD)

So they probably are. And virtually 50% of  all Americans are dependent on the government so they’ll vote to have you pay for them.

Shared Sacrifice, don’t you know. They share your sacrifice to to the almighty Gods of Class Warfare.

Tipping point? How about Tipped…

Titanic anyone? Hey,was that an iceberg…

How Goes the War?

The grand plan of Obama is working.

High Gas Prices, low employment and a stagnant economy riddled with inflation is making people use less fossil fuels.

Traffic congestion dropped 30% last year from 2010 in the USA’s 100 largest metropolitan areas, driven largely by higher gas prices and a spotty economic recovery, according to a new study by a Washington-state firm that tracks traffic flows.

But they better off than they were 4 years ago. OF COURSE NOT.

But the Solyndra-Loving, fossil fuel hating Liberals I bet are all over the moon excited.

It’s not like they care WHY the numbers have dropped. Because they don’t.

******

A group of disgruntled stay-at-home moms is fighting back against a 2009 law that limits credit card access to people with proof of income.

The group says the Credit CARD Act of 2009 sets women back half a century, according to an online petition at change.org.

2009? When the Democrats had a majority in both houses. Hmm…

I guess Stay-At-Home Moms along with “never having held a job their lives” and since they don’t “understand” economics after all they just don’t need credit cards. Let that be the Man of The House’s Job! 🙂

Intending to limit irresponsible lending, the law requires credit card applicants to provide proof of income in order to qualify. Stay-at-home moms, with no income, do not qualify for approval, unless their husbands co-sign for the card, which has the group of angered moms fighting back.

“It is 2012, and because I’m a stay at home mom, I can’t get my own credit card,” the petition reads. “My husband has to give me permission to get my own line of credit. This is demeaning and flat out unfair.”

So would this be the Democrats “War on Women”?? 🙂
Bet the Minsitry of Truth will be all over this 24/7/365! 🙂
Or do you have to be a “rich” woman with her own money (like Teresa Hines Kerry) or one that can afford the $38,500 per plate at an Obama Fundraiser?
The group is also asking their members to send a letter to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, claiming “the new rules send a message that stay-at-home parents are not as credit-worthy as young adults still in school without their own income.”
This was the board set up in Dodd-Frank that was going to save us all from the unscrupulous, evil, greedy, bankers and mortgage companies that forced people to take loans they could afford to pay back and then they traded them around as derivatives until they crashed.
Imagine what they can do with Health Care! 🙂

Obama: “As you begin the next stage in your journey, you will encounter greed and selfishness; ignorance and cruelty. …  (and that’s just from Democrats and Unions) You will meet people who try to build themselves up by tearing others down (Liberals); who believe looking after others is only for suckers,” (that’s the governments job after all) he said.

“My deepest hope for all of you … [is that] you can serve as a reminder that we’re not meant to walk this road alone (Government is right at every step to “help” you); that we’re not expected to face down adversity by ourselves,” (You have the government largess to fall back on) he told his audience. “We’re stronger together than we are on our own.”

Yes, Comrade, it Takes a Village!!!
Maybe they need government issued Credit Cards? 🙂
Oh, that’s right, that happened during Katrina and their was massive fraud! 🙂

But don’t worry, he gets a pass on anything he says.

Pelosi: “We know we have to balance the budget.  (1,1,30 Days since the Senate passed a budget at all- so we believe you Nancy!) We have to establish our priorities and make the cuts accordingly (The Military and every other “right wing” program we can get our hands on). We have to have revenue on the table (Screw the rich!) and we have to invest in growth (Spend even more!) because the creation of jobs (and the unemployment over 8% for 3 1/4 years and millions and millions deserting the workforce all together has certainly shown they way) is what will bring revenue to the Treasury (But not like taxing the rich will) and continue our economic recovery which is important to the American people,” (what recovery? where in your liberal fantasies?) Pelosi said Thursday at the Capitol.

“So to toss this into the mix right now, saying we have to have cuts that exceed even the lifting of the extent to which we lift the debt ceiling is really immature, irresponsible, let’s get serious.” (DC)

Who cares if we are spending 50% more than we  take in. All we have to do is tax the rich into oblivion and  submission and then cut the military to two tricycles and a pop-gun and everything will be rosy and wonderful!

It’s the Republicans fault, after all, that we haven’t passed a budget in well over 3 1/4 years and voted down Obama’s budget 2 years running…

Thomas Sowell: The fact that so many successful politicians are such shameless liars is not only a reflection on them, it is also a reflection on us. When the people want the impossible, only liars can satisfy them, and only in the short run. The current outbreaks of riots in Europe show what happens when the truth catches up with both the politicians and the people in the long run.Among the biggest lies of the welfare states on both sides of the Atlantic is the notion that the government can supply the people with things they want but cannot afford. Since the government gets its resources from the people, if the people as a whole cannot afford something, neither can the government. There is, of course, the perennial fallacy that the government can simply raise taxes on “the rich” and use that additional revenue to pay for things that most people cannot afford. What is amazing is the implicit assumption that “the rich” are all such complete fools that they will do nothing to prevent their money from being taxed away. History shows otherwise.

After the Constitution of the United States was amended to permit a federal income tax, in 1916, the number of people reporting taxable incomes of $300,000 a year or more fell from well over a thousand to fewer than three hundred by 1921.

Were the rich all getting poorer? Not at all. They were investing huge sums of money in tax-exempt securities. The amount of money invested in tax-exempt securities was larger than the federal budget, and nearly half as large as the national debt.

This was not unique to the United States or to that era. After the British government raised their income tax on the top income earners in 2010, they discovered that they collected less tax revenue than before. Other countries have had similar experiences. Apparently the rich are not all fools, after all.

In today’s globalized world economy, the rich can simply invest their money in countries where tax rates are lower.

So, if you cannot rely on “the rich” to pick up the slack, what can you rely on? Lies.

Nothing is easier for a politician than promising government benefits that cannot be delivered. Pensions such as Social Security are perfect for this role. The promises that are made are for money to be paid many years from now — and somebody else will be in power then, left with the job of figuring out what to say and do when the money runs out and the riots start.

There are all sorts of ways of postponing the day of reckoning. The government can refuse to pay what it costs to get things done. Cutting what doctors are paid for treating Medicare patients is one obvious example.

That of course leads some doctors to refuse to take on new Medicare patients. But this process takes time to really make its full impact felt — and elections are held in the short run. This is another growing problem that can be left for someone else to try to cope with in future years.

Increasing amounts of paperwork for doctors in welfare states with government-run medical care, and reduced payments to those doctors, in order to stave off the day of bankruptcy, mean that the medical profession is likely to attract fewer of the brightest young people who have other occupations available to them — paying more money and having fewer hassles. But this too is a long-run problem — and elections are still held in the short run.

Eventually, all these long-run problems can catch up with the wonderful-sounding lies that are the lifeblood of welfare state politics. But there can be a lot of elections between now and eventually — and those who are good at political lies can win a lot of those elections.

As the day of reckoning approaches, there are a number of ways of seeming to overcome the crisis. If the government is running out of money, it can print more money. That does not make the country any richer, but it quietly transfers part of the value of existing money from people’s savings and income to the government, whose newly printed money is worth just as much as the money that people worked for and saved.

Printing more money means inflation — and inflation is a quiet lie, by which a government can keep its promises on paper, but with money worth much less than when the promises were made.

Is it so surprising voters with unrealistic hopes elect politicians who lie about being able to fulfill those hopes?

Not Really. And with nearly half the country not paying any income taxes and record levels of food stamps and 99 weeks of unemployment payments will they vote to cut their own throats or yours first?

Beware The Leopard

Last Monday, a high school student in North Carolina engaged his social studies teacher in a heated debate about politics and the two leading presidential candidates. During the exchange, the teacher (an obvious Obama supporter) got very angry with the student and accused him of disrespecting the president. She even went so far as to tell the boy that he could be jailed for speaking ill of Obama.

Sarah Campbell of the Salisbury Post first reported on the story. She claims that the school district is not releasing the name of the teacher and that she is not responding to requests for public comment (although the two students identified her to the newspaper). According to Campbell’s story, the teacher will not be suspended or even face disciplinary action for what was heard on the recording. A statement from the school was released at the end of the week:

“The Rowan-Salisbury School System expects all students and employees to be respectful in the school environment and for all teachers to maintain their professionalism in the classroom. This incident should serve as an education for all teachers to stop and reflect on their interaction with students. Due to personnel and student confidentiality, we cannot discuss the matter publicly.”

So, how bad was the exchange? It got fairly heated, with the teacher shouting at times. The kerfuffle started after one student asked a question about the teacher’s  “fact of the day” that said Romney was a bully back in high school. A student asked:

“Didn’t Obama bully somebody, though?”

The teacher started to get angry and said:

“Not to my knowledge.”

A couple of students relayed the story about Obama admitting that he bullied someone when he was younger.

In response to the Romney story, conservatives have recently been pointing to a passage in Obama’s book, “Dreams from My Father,” in which the president writes that while in grade school he shoved a little girl, the only other black student in his grade, after other students called him her boyfriend.

And that seemed to light the fuse on his teacher’s anger. A couple of the students exchanged words with the angry teacher.

“Stop! Stop! Because there’s no comparison. He’s running for president. Obama is the president.”

As one student attempted to argue for a fair, two-sided debate on the history of the candidates, he was shouted down and talked over by the teacher. She continued:

“You got to realize, this man is wanting to be what Obama is. There’s no comparison.”

Once again, the students pressed for equal discussion of the histories of both men, with one saying:

“If you’re gonna talk trash about one side, you gotta talk trash about the other.”

The teacher just seemed to dig her heels in deeper and press her defense of Obama telling the defiant teen:

“You will not disrespect the president of the United States in this classroom.”

Again the student persisted and invoked his First Amendment right.

“I’ll say what I want.”

The still unidentified teacher read the student her rules…her Obama rules.

“Not about him, you won’t!”

The back and forth continued and the most strident of the two students reminded his teacher that President Bush was constantly treated to negative statements about him while he was in office:

“Whenever Bush was president, everybody talked sh-t about him.”

To which the teacher responded:

“Because he was sh-tty.”

The social studies educator went on for a full minute with more ranting, saying that people were arrested for saying derogatory things about President Bush. The student correctly reminded the teacher that opinions are protected, but you cannot be arrested unless you threaten the president.

Our research has not turned up a single case of anyone in America being arrested for speaking ill of former President Bush.

“Do you realize that people were arrested for saying things bad about Bush?” she says of former President Bush. “Do you realize you are not supposed to slander the president?” (salisbury post)

That is factually inaccurate, But since when do liberal care about facts.  And you can slander Republicans 24/7/365 and that’s ok because they are “sh*tty”. 🙂

The local newspaper story also mentioned that their discussions about the story with a political science professor could not recall the arrests that the teacher was speaking about.(hot air)

Rowan-Salisbury spokeswoman Rita Foil confirmed the teacher is still employed with the district and has not been suspended for disciplinary reasons.

And the district is in hiding and won’t comment.

So don’t expect the Liberal media to want to mention it either. It’s similar to Douglas Adams’ Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy:

” …You hadn’t exactly gone out of your way to call attention to them had you? I mean like actually telling anyone or anything.’

“Oh yes, well as soon as I heard I went straight round to see them, yesterday afternoon. You hadn’t exactly gone out of your way to call attention to them, had you? I mean, like actually telling anybody or anything.”

“But the plans were on display …”

“On display? I eventually had to go down to the cellar to find them.”

“That’s the display department.”

“With a flashlight.”

“Ah, well the lights had probably gone.”

“So had the stairs.”

“But look, you found the notice didn’t you?”

“Yes,” said Arthur, “yes I did. It was on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying ‘Beware of the Leopard’.”

So beware the Leopard, he will rip you apart if you disagree with them, but they will also hide from you anything that actually they disagree with or makes them look bad, even if they wrote it Like Dreams of My Father.

After all, they are nature’s perfection and you’re just a racist, misogynistic religious whacko to disagree with them. 🙂

And make sure if you want to call the President or any non-liberal a scatological term it must be a right winger.

The entire confrontation was recorded by a student and posted on YouTube. Listen below; slight content warning for language.

Retarding the Future

Political Cartoons by Michael Ramirez

Fascinating:

After a poll released this week showed President Barack Obama only beating his Democratic primary opponent John Wolfe Jr. by seven points, 45 percent to 38 percent, in Arkansas’s Fourth Congressional District, state Democrats moved to practically disenfranchise Arkansas voters. “[D]elegates Wolfe might claim won’t be recognized at the national convention,” national party officials are telling state Democrats. Wolfe is being accused of not following the party rules.

“They want a coronation,” Wolfe tells THE WEEKLY STANDARD. “They’re conflating [Obama] with the party. Are we supposed to call him ‘Dear Leader’? Is this some kind of North Korea thing?”

Wolfe insists he’s done the due diligence to qualify for delegates and that the state party is making decisions ad hoc to get the results they desire.  “This is ridiculous,” he says. “These guys are trying to tamp down voter enthusiasm.”

If he’s denied delegates he’s rightfully won, Wolfe says, Democrats would be effectively disenfranchising those who chose him over President Obama. And if that happens, he’ll take his own party to court.

“They took my money and put my name on the ballot,” he says. “They’re trying to make people think it’s hopeless to vote against Obama.”

Wolfe is also on the ballot for Texas’s primary on May 29. (Weekly Standard)

Obama’s Million Dollar Donor is at it again:

According to Maher, tea party activism on fiscal issues is just a “reason” to vent pent-up racism.

“They hate him and they want a reason to hate him, so they make it about finances,” Maher said. “But it really isn’t about finances. Bush ran up the deficit. Bush ran up the debt.”

After all the Trillions in debt rung up by Obama is all Bush’s Fault! 🙂

And we are still in the mode of if you don’t vote for Obama or disagree with him it MUST BE because you’re a racist!

Nothing has Changed.

MAHER: Just the fact that we have one person in that big job — I agree it is a big job, it doesn’t mean that we’re in a post-racial world does it?

“I come from a racial minority; my name is very unusual for the United States,” Obama replied in Turkey. “And so I think people saw my election as proof, as testimony, that although we are imperfect, our society has continued to improve; that racial discrimination has been reduced; that educational opportunity for all people is something that is still available.” -Obama 2009
Maybe this is post-racialism — where nothing we used to know means much anymore, where every over-reaction gets an equal and opposite over-reaction and nobody has to honor a principle except the fear of immediate public backlash against any hint of a racial consciousness. (Politico 2009)
Fascinating…
WASHINGTON (AP) — Are Republican lawmakers deliberately stalling the economic recovery to hurt President Barack Obama’s re-election chances? Some top Democrats say yes, pointing to GOP stances on the debt limit and other issues that they claim are causing unnecessary economic anxiety and retarding growth.

15.7 Trillion in Debt (5 more in the last 4 years) and millions giving up on even looking for work has nothing to do with it. It’s all the evil Republicans fault as usual.
It’s the same old song and dance.
So where is the Democrat’s Budget?  Their plan?
Oh, they haven’t passed on in over 1100 days and have no intention of doing so anytime soon.
Funny how that worked out.
FOOD POLICE
Davis High School has been fined $15,000 after they were caught selling soda pop during lunch hour, which is a violation of federal law.The federally mandated law prohibits the sale of carbonated beverages after lunch is served. The program is an effort to help fight childhood obesity and to have young students make better food choices.

The mandate allows for carbonated beverages to be sold before lunch, but restricts students from buying lunch, then purchasing carbonated drinks afterward.

“Before lunch you can come and buy a carbonated beverage. You can take it into the cafeteria and eat your lunch, but you can’t first go buy school lunch then come out in the hallway and buy a drink,” said Davis High Principal Dee Burton.

Frankly, my initial reaction was how did the Davis High School students get caught? I mean, are government bureaucrats hiding in lockers or underneath trashcans making sure teenagers aren’t buying sodas – gasp – after lunch? I never would have suspected the federal government had the manpower – or resources – to enforce such inane and stupid regulations. I guess I was wrong.

But on a more serious note, if the principal doesn’t understand the complexities of the very law he’s required to enforce, it’s probably safe to assume his students don’t either.

Principal Burton said he does not understand the law with rules that seem to be contradictory.“We can sell a Snickers bar, but can’t sell licorice. We can’t sell Swedish Fish, we can’t sell Starburst, we can’t sell Skittles, but we can sell ice cream, we can sell the Snickers bar, Milky Ways, all that stuff,” said Burton.

This high school horror story is a perfect example of how government regulations are complicating our lives. While the obesity epidemic needs to be addressed, federal policies are robbing public schools of their vital resources. Sadly, as the author notes, the $15,000 check Davis High School must now write to Uncle Sam could have gone towards certain educational programs. At a time when public schools are consistently failing to prepare students for the rigors of college, it seems to me taxpayer dollars would be infinitely better spent at the local level – not in the hands of spendthrift Washington bureaucrats. Parents have learned the art of education and give and take. You let them have the junk food (in moderation) and you educate them on the dangers of sex outside of a committed relationship. You tell them about the dangers of overindulging in alcohol and you don’t make it as attractive as if you were to just prohibit it. And at some point, you have to let go of the reins and trust them to make intelligent decisions on their own and be ready to allow them to suffer the consequences of the bad decisions.

Which is something that the Obama Administration can’t do…let the American people make their own decisions and take the consequences of those decisions.

The upshot of the fine levied against the school truly brings the story to the ridiculous conclusion it deserves. The $15K to pay the fine will come from funds normally used for the school’s music program, art department and sports. That should make for some better, more well rounded students, eh? Oh… and how do they plan to avoid being fined again in the future? The principal is looking for a way to move the soda machines into a room which can be locked and guarded starting at lunch time. Presumably that will require somebody with nothing better to do, such as… teaching students. (Hot air)

Retarding or just Retarded. You Decide, while you still can. 🙂

What was Old Is New Again

Three years ago, President Obama cut a secret deal with pharmaceutical company lobbyists to secure the industry’s support for his national health care law. Despite Obama’s promises during his campaign to run a transparent administration, the deal has been shrouded in mystery ever since. But internal emails obtained by House Republicans now provide evidence that a deal was struck and GOP investigators are promising to release more details in the coming weeks.

“What the hell?” White House Deputy Chief of Staff Jim Messina, who is now Obama’s campaign manager, complained to a lobbyist for the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) in January 15, 2010 email. “This wasn’t part of our deal.”

This reference to “our deal” came two months before the final passage of Obamacare

The email was uncovered as part of investigation into Obama’s closed-door health care negotiations launched by the House Energy and Commerce committee’s oversight panel. (KFYI)

I certainly hope they do.

You are your brother’s keeper and WE are yours. Enjoy.

And from the “It Takes a Village”:

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, told an assemblage of human rights and “civil society” activists gathered at the State Department Wednesday that “government cannot and should not” control the lives of individuals.

And she said it with a straight face!

DEBT

Under President Barack Obama, the federal debt has been increasing at a rate of $1,148 per month per American household.

Now that’s Hope and CHANGE. 🙂

The White House and the congressional leaders of both parties in Congress have begun maneuvering this week over the issue of the federal debt and what to do when the government hits the latest statutory limit on that debt–$16.394 trillion—which Congress and the president agreed to when they cut a deal on the debt limit last August.

When the Republicans caved in to the Democrats. And the Republicans are posturing like they did previously so they can cave in end when the Democrats and the Liberal media assault them and they go all weak in the knees and cave in.

The federal debt is currently $15.709 trillion, or about $685 billion below the limit.

The first spending deal the White House and leaders of both parties in Congress made last year was on March 2. On that day, the president signed a continuing resolution to keep the government funded past March 4, when the previous continuing resolution, passed by a lame-duck Congress in late 2010, expired.

The March 4 CR kept the government funded for two weeks and was approved by a bipartisan 335-91 vote in the House and a bipartisan 91-9 vote in the Senate.

Since that March 4, 2011 bipartisan continuing resolution, the federal government has been funded by a series of bipartisan deals cut between the White House and congressional leaders.

In the meanwhile, under these bipartisan spending deals, according to official figures published by the U.S. Treasury, the federal debt has climbed from $14,182,627,184,881.03 to $15,708,753,671,767.64.

That is an increase of $1,526,126,486,886.61.

Given that the Census Bureau estimates there are about 117,538,000 households in the United States, the per household increase in the federal debt since Congress enacted its March 4, 2011 bipartisan spending deal has been approximately $12,984. (CNS)

The drug addicts are still getting their fix and come January, MASSIVE Tax increases because the Bush Tax cuts expire, the payroll tax breaks expire and the Debt Ceiling is reached.

Gee, I wonder if that timing was deliberate? 🙂

But don’t worry, if Romney wins, it will be the Republicans Fault. If Obama Wins, it will be Bush’s Fault! 🙂

VP Biden just days ago: When you’re out of work, man, it’s a depression. And a lot of people are still hurting because of this god-awful recession we inherited that cost 8.4 million jobs before we could really get going. And so I don’t blame people, they’re frustrated, they’re angry…

OBAMACARE

“In his talk to Protestant ministers,” Sebelius said, “Kennedy talked about his vision of religion and the public square, and he said he believed in an America, and I quote, ‘where no religious body seeks to impose its will directly or indirectly upon the general populace or the public acts of its officials; and where religious liberty is so indivisible that an act against one church is treated as an act against us all.’”

But the Government can force you and religious institutions to act against their general will because the government is all-powerful and besides you don’t want to elect a cultist Mormon now do you???

Irony is always lost on Liberals.

Sebelius told the students that to engage in debates, such as ones dealing with religion and public policy, will require them to follow their “own moral compass.”

But her own Catholic compass was broken by her ego to be the Minister of Health to all the unwashed, uneducated, and untamed masses.

And if this “compass” conflicts with Government you lose every time they want you to believe it doesn’t, so go ahead, have your “moral compass” then do what the government demands of you, serf, or else the IRS will be coming to your door and you will have to pay a fine to your Lords and Masters!

“It will also require the ethical skills you have honed–the ability to weigh different views, to see issues from others points of view, and in the end, to be true to your own moral compass.”

I’m just blathering platitudes  I don’t mean but “feel” good to say now because I’m and the Supreme Overlord of Health Care and you will do as I say regardless.

It kind of reminds you of Obama and his speeches about unity, and civility that were a total joke and he knew it. But it sounded good.

“The conversations can be painful, But it’s through this process of conversation and compromise that we actually move forward, together, step by step, towards that ‘more perfect union.’”

That’s why we rammed it down your thought in the most partisan bitch fight in US history!!

Liberal concept of Compromise: You give in, we don’t, we win. 🙂

BUDGET

Oh, and Obama’s much heralded budget when down in flames yet again because it wasn’t a serious attempt anyhow it was just a show piece and a fraud so voting it down is just a game to be played while the Democrats ignore the Budget.

1,127 days without a Federal Budget!

The White House dismissed the vote entirely as a gimmick.

Ah, the good old days are here again. 🙂

When Hell Freezes Over

Surprise! Surprise! George Zimmerman (“The WHITE Hispanic”) may actually not be a racial profiling racist hunting down and kill himself a sweet innocent black kid!!

Two police officers reported that when they arrived at the scene of the shooting, Zimmerman seemed to have a battered nose and bloodied face. One wrote that his “facial area was bloodied,” and the back of his clothing was soiled with wet grass.

“Zimmerman was also bleeding from the nose and the back of his head,” Officer Ricardo Ayala wrote.

Another officer wrote, “I saw that Zimmerman’s face was bloodied and it appeared to me that his nose was broken.”

Witnesses, whose names were redacted from the report, also lent support to Zimmerman’s version of what happened.

“He witnesses a black male, wearing a dark colored ‘hoodie’ on top of a white or Hispanic male and throwing punches ‘MMA (mixed martial arts) style,'” the police report of the witness said. “He then heard a pop. He stated that after hearing the pop, he observed the person he had previously observed on top of the other person (the male wearing the hoodie) laid out on the grass.”

A second witness described a person on the ground with another straddling him and throwing punches. The man on the bottom was yelling for help, the witness told police.

The documents state that Zimmerman can be heard yelling for help 14 times on a 911 call recorded during the fight. (ABC)

I doesn’t exonerate Zimmerman of a crime. But then again, the actually crime was never the issue.

Gee, I wonder if MSNBC, Al Sharpton, et al will cover this and apologize for their race baiting.

The lead paragraph on MSNBC: Prosecutors on Thursday made public a trove of evidence used to justify murder charges against Neighborhood Watch volunteer George Zimmerman, including a police report that concluded “the encounter between George Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin was ultimately avoidable by Zimmerman.”

So we’ll ignore out race baiting and focus on this instead.

One Leftist on MSNBC’s Comments: “This guy is done unless they fill the jury box with racists”

Another: Scary. Zimmerman is what I imagine Satan would look like.

And Another: He executed Trayvon like the n$$$$$ he thought he was. Now it’s time to ruin Zimmerman’s life. Don’t let the racists and Zimmerman lovers cloud the issue.

And the photos of Trayvon are still the sweet innocent 12 year old.

So, the answer is: 6 millenia after Hell freezes over if we’re lucky.

After all, the Left is the morally superior force for good and everyone else is evil and they are never wrong. 🙂
